- 0:13Music. And welcome back to the Boundary
- 0:47Corner podcast along with my partners, Brian Siegler and
- 0:50Jonathan Talley. I am Curtis Wilson and we are
- 0:54part of the College Huddle Network.
- 0:56This episode is brought to you by Doctor Jeremy Counts down at
- 0:59the Counts Family Pharmacy, your friendly neighborhood pharmacy,
- 1:02three O 1 S Main St. in Blacksburg, VA.
- 1:05And y'all know what I forgot to do?
- 1:07I forgot to text Jeremy and figure out who won the PS5.
- 1:11That person is going to taking it away and never sending it to
- 1:15me. Man, you are slacking.
- 1:17Man, what are you doing well? I got, I got, I got a sick kid
- 1:22at home. Both my boys had baseball on a
- 1:25Monday night, so I'm running all around.
- 1:27My wife had stuff out of her school.
- 1:31It was, it was a long Monday. That's why I forgot.
- 1:34Hey, man, we, we, we got, we got some celebrities already in the
- 1:38the audience here. We got in ready with us.
- 1:41We got Chris. Out.
- 1:43You know new king, you know new. King, go ahead.
- 1:46Look at it. Look at it.
- 1:49Oh. Man, it's OK, all right, It's
- 1:51all right. Oh boys, oh boys.
- 1:56How y'all doing, Kylie? I know you were.
- 1:59You had a baseball. Yeah, man, we all tournament
- 2:02full swing, full swing sports. Son is he's starting on JV at
- 2:10quarterback now. So last night he had a game.
- 2:13So Mondays were playing games. Saturday we were in Cleveland,
- 2:18TN had to go to Cleveland State to go to his his first showcase
- 2:23where coaches were available. So coaches really can't talk to
- 2:279th and 10th graders yet in baseball, so they just observe
- 2:33and put people on their watch list and things like that can
- 2:36talk to the coaches a little bit.
- 2:37So it was pretty cool though. It was.
- 2:39But he hadn't picked the bat up in two months.
- 2:43Hey, just go play, you know what I'm saying?
- 2:44And it was a lot more relaxed than I thought it would be for
- 2:49him because he just went and played and he, you know, he did
- 2:52everything the right way. So that was cool.
- 2:54But it was hot. I thought I was going to pass
- 2:57out. I was definitely stealing
- 3:00Gatorades out of people's coolers.
- 3:03If you see, if you got a cooler and it's got Gatorade and water
- 3:06in it and I'm around, I'm drinking it.
- 3:11I'd rather drink your Gatorade and fall out.
- 3:15So I was, I was. I'm going to.
- 3:17Borrow this. I'm going to borrow this.
- 3:20I wasn't even telling them though.
- 3:21That's what made me feel bad. Like if I was telling them I
- 3:24just see Gatorades and I mean, I just seen coolers and they will
- 3:28fool. And I was like, right, I'm a
- 3:30coach today, buddy. I'm getting in this I'm.
- 3:32Going to press this button here. I'm going to get me a little
- 3:34bit. See y'all later.
- 3:36Right, how y'all feeling? I know, Curtis said.
- 3:39He's been all over the place with the boys and Mama and all
- 3:42that. Brian, what about you?
- 3:43What you've been got going. On last week was crazy.
- 3:46This week is a little bit slower to to that point I did.
- 3:50I did win some money at work last week doing the hackathon,
- 3:54so. Nice.
- 3:56Good stuff. Excited about that.
- 4:00That was probably the best part of the week because the weekend
- 4:03got here and it and it wasn't as pretty as I wanted it to be.
- 4:06Two big L's in fantasy football. Obviously we we know what
- 4:11happened on Saturday, you know, the Colts won, but looking at
- 4:15who they're playing, that didn't really give me a whole lot of
- 4:17faith. So it could get worse for you.
- 4:21You can be a Titans fan and Will Levis can be 1/4.
- 4:23At least I ain't got Will Levis, man.
- 4:25That Jesus Christ, man, I can't, dude.
- 4:28I can't. I can't win for losing.
- 4:30It's pitiful. My high school team lost, my
- 4:34college team lost, and my pro team lost.
- 4:38I'm about to start picking different teams, man.
- 4:39We got to. Do some man, Oh man, oh man.
- 4:43But I know we got. Behind you, my college team lost
- 4:46my pro team, my fantasy team is the only thing keeping me happy.
- 4:49I'm three and O and fresh in the league right now.
- 4:53Well, that's pretty good. That's pretty good.
- 4:56All I got. Is I put out an all time low in
- 4:59fantasy? Oh yeah, man.
- 5:01Didn't break y'all in the same league.
- 5:03Yeah, yeah, he. Didn't break 60.
- 5:05I did not break 60. All time low.
- 5:08You playing that thing like I do.
- 5:09I had people. I had people in that was hurt
- 5:12for the season, all type of stuff.
- 5:14They're like, hey man, you're supposed to change people out.
- 5:16I ain't. I don't play.
- 5:17Ain't got time? I ain't got.
- 5:18No time. I'm getting screwed by the auto
- 5:20sub. It's not working for me, but
- 5:22this is another league. I I had a legitimate starting
- 5:25lineup and just nobody did anything.
- 5:28Hold on, hold on. A Titan put up a zero.
- 5:32He played like 60 some snaps and put up a 0.
- 5:36Hold on. It could be worse.
- 5:40Though. I mean y'all got to win week 1
- 5:43though. Yeah, I'm going to say they beat
- 5:45us. They beat us.
- 5:47They beat the Titans, so again, I I can't handle it bad.
- 5:51I'm I'm just tired of it. But I know we got a lot to
- 5:54unwrap here. It's going to be a great night,
- 5:57as great as we can make it after a loss.
- 5:59Everybody seen the game, they know we lost.
- 6:02But I wanted to start and again, I told y'all I was going to
- 6:06bring something on y'all. So I want to start and I want to
- 6:08ask y'all a couple of questions. They're going to go with Curtis
- 6:11first. Oh God.
- 6:13We're just going, we're just going to run down the offense
- 6:15and the defense because I'm trying to.
- 6:17I've seen a lot of people putting blame or saying, oh,
- 6:20it's a lot of people to blame. But whenever I asked like who's
- 6:24the blame? Who do y'all think what needs to
- 6:26be fixed? I can't get a straight answer.
- 6:29So why not start it here? Did our running backroom do
- 6:33enough to win the game? Our running backroom did more
- 6:36than enough to win the game. OK, more running back.
- 6:39Brian, would you agree? I agree.
- 6:42OK. Did our quarterback room do
- 6:44enough to win the game? No, no.
- 6:48Not this way. Did our offensive line do enough
- 6:51to win the game? No.
- 6:56That's that, that that. See kind of crazy question you
- 6:59know, given. Everything given, everything
- 7:01else that that we're putting together here, they did not do
- 7:05enough. OK, Curtis, what you say?
- 7:07You you thinking something? See, I see.
- 7:09I'm thinking because the reality is a Shelton sent me all the
- 7:16numbers. Shelton's not here.
- 7:17This is this. Is why I wanted to break it
- 7:19down. So yeah, go ahead.
- 7:21So you go across the line and look, a handful of guys on that
- 7:26line had very good games, very good games.
- 7:30One was the best tackle in the country per PFF.
- 7:35Couple of our interior guys had very good games.
- 7:39Then a couple guys, it didn't have so great games, so would
- 7:42you? But it's all one unit.
- 7:46Right. In that case, Brian, you play
- 7:48tally, you play tight end. I think the line did enough to
- 7:52win the game. I think a couple of people on
- 7:55the line didn't do to win the game.
- 7:57There you go, collecting unit. You start fairly.
- 8:00Yeah. Now, if you start looking at why
- 8:02is this person playing over this person, possibly, I don't know.
- 8:06So then, now let's go wide receiver room.
- 8:10Did the wide receiver room do enough to win the game?
- 8:16Seeing a couple times I saw some guys running free the ball
- 8:20didn't get there. I mean, I got to say they did.
- 8:23Tidy in Rome. From a catching perspective,
- 8:30yes. Blocking God No, God no.
- 8:35They they, they threw some atrocious blocks.
- 8:38It's, it's again, it's the inconsistency.
- 8:40And I think that's the thing that's a lot frustrating.
- 8:43I think that's why this exercise becomes hard sometimes when we
- 8:46talk about you, they do enough because there are moments when
- 8:50they did really well. Then they're moments where you
- 8:52just scratch your head like, is that even the same player?
- 8:56Like you think about like Benji, Benji through some hell, hell of
- 8:59a good blocks on outside zone, split zone, things like that.
- 9:03But there were a couple. Others where he he's olaying and
- 9:07he's doing pretty, pretty poorly in pass pro.
- 9:09So it's like it's it's like it's it's incomplete.
- 9:12But I mean, in this instance, in this particular game, I'm going
- 9:15to say a no. So now we're going to go to
- 9:19defensive side of the ball. OK, defensive line.
- 9:22Did they do enough to win the game?
- 9:24Yes. Yep, Brian, You think so?
- 9:27All right, linebackers. Did they do enough to win the
- 9:30game? Linebackers is a lot like
- 9:33offensive lineman. Yeah.
- 9:36Some guys had great games. I I, I think cumulatively.
- 9:39No, no. Cumulatively, no, because there
- 9:41were too many. Guys, I think, I think Brumfield
- 9:43had a pretty good game. Brumfield played solid.
- 9:46Woodson played good against the run, but Woodson's youth showed
- 9:51on some of those little fake pass plays because he stuck that
- 9:54head back inside and that flat was gone.
- 9:58But overall they did not play good enough.
- 10:00OK, Safeties, no. Oh, we can do so do y'all want
- 10:04to do something and quarterbacks together, they don't do it
- 10:06separate, do it separate on safeties.
- 10:08Safeties did not do good enough. Jaylen Jones was in hell.
- 10:13That's all I would say. I.
- 10:14Agree. Most made mistakes too, Yeah,
- 10:16same way they were. They were making mistakes.
- 10:19Corners played good enough. OK, corners, corners that will
- 10:22play good enough. And I'm going to retract my
- 10:25statement too, looking at the chat and talking.
- 10:27That's why I wanted to do this to start the show off.
- 10:31I said line. I thought line did enough to win
- 10:33the game because I'm seeing at times when we needed them, they
- 10:37threw a block, they got somebody open, we scored.
- 10:40But a lot of that does have to do with who we had running the
- 10:43ball. So I will go with I'm on, I'm
- 10:46going to change my opinion. Line as a as a collective.
- 10:50And the reason I'm changing this is because of the last question
- 10:53I'm asked as a collective line didn't do enough to win the
- 10:55game, so we'll go line didn't do enough to win the game.
- 11:01Who else did we say quarterback, quarterback room didn't do
- 11:04enough to win the game, linebackers, safeties.
- 11:09So that is the the four rooms that didn't do enough to win
- 11:13that game is am I getting that right?
- 11:16That's it. OK, last question.
- 11:19Then we can move on. Did the coaches as a whole, we
- 11:23ain't breaking them down. Did the coaches do enough to win
- 11:26the game? Not at all.
- 11:28Not at all. Way too many ill prepared
- 11:30moments way too, especially that one play, that one little,
- 11:37whatever you want to call it, RPO play for the defense that
- 11:40they ran. I think, I think somebody wrote
- 11:43out there and what I've seen, it was done 7 times successfully.
- 11:48That little flats pass, no? Yeah.
- 11:53The the coaches didn't and the the bad thing is, and Brian,
- 11:58I'll let you in peace. To me, there have been no game
- 12:02this year that the coaches has had this team adequately
- 12:05prepared. Yeah, I.
- 12:07Agree now now I will give them their I will give them a little
- 12:09I will give them a little flowers.
- 12:11They have made some impressive in game adjustments in game they
- 12:16they've gotten to the right points, but the whole thing is
- 12:20when teams now it's becoming something where teams know if
- 12:25they can get on us early, they can win the game.
- 12:29Yeah. We're, we're not designed to
- 12:31play from behind. We don't have the offensive line
- 12:35that can block for situations where we need to drop back and
- 12:39sling it. I don't think that we we've seen
- 12:43success with that. I think our quarterback plays
- 12:48better when he's comfortable and confident and, and that denotes
- 12:51getting quicker starts in games, getting him comfortable with the
- 12:56game plan, comfortable with his weapons, comfortable with the
- 12:59way the game's going. You know, I think we've seen
- 13:03that fairly consistently even going back to last year.
- 13:07And then looking at the way the games have gone this year, When
- 13:09he's comfortable early, he looks like a very damn good
- 13:12quarterback. And when when he's not
- 13:14comfortable early, it's very uneven, right.
- 13:16Like you'll see him make some really good plays and then
- 13:18you'll see some head scratchers. Yeah.
- 13:22It's just when I look at stuff, man, the reason I ask that
- 13:25question is because I've seen so much stuff.
- 13:27You overanalyze stuff and you do want to be mad, and then you
- 13:30look at this and you look at that.
- 13:32It's so much stuff that goes into it.
- 13:34And I can see in the chat. How?
- 13:37It's split and I can see us trying to talk about it, how
- 13:41none of this stuff is easy. I'm not making any excuses for
- 13:44anybody, but I've seen somebody say it.
- 13:46You can't win or can't put it on the coaches.
- 13:48The drone misses 2 touchdowns. That's very true.
- 13:52He overthrew his wide receivers, but you got A-65 receiver that
- 13:55we have not seen layout for a ball Steven Gosnell laid out for
- 13:58one. When you talk about people
- 14:00wanting to win and doing everything it takes to win, we
- 14:04haven't seen that from every player yet.
- 14:06And I'm not putting that on our wide receivers as well.
- 14:09I'm just saying when you get to a point where you'll do anything
- 14:13to win, then we can start saying this is the only thing that
- 14:16happened. It wasn't good.
- 14:18I want. To do 2 things right, I'm going
- 14:20to put this up talking about that RPOI can't blame that Omar
- 14:25for the RPO woods and it's on him.
- 14:27It's not on more. He can't make them execute on
- 14:29the field. But Yost, I love you dude.
- 14:32We talk all the time. What is 8 for 9 for 100 plus
- 14:36yards? That is on the coach because if
- 14:39you're not sitting there adjusting to maybe put them in a
- 14:42zone concept or put them line them up further outside, that's
- 14:46on a coach or the coach to say, listen, you just stay with him.
- 14:50I don't care about to run. That's coaching on the
- 14:53sidelines. And, and, and if you look later,
- 14:55there was a correction to that because he did stay with the
- 14:58tight end later and you know, he turned it up and got the
- 15:02quarterback did turned it up, got like a 10 or 15 yard gain on
- 15:05a run where he kept it. So I mean, they, they did make
- 15:08some adjustment at some point in the game.
- 15:10But again, it's the same play. It's eight of nine.
- 15:14I think it's a little bit of both, right.
- 15:15I think we could have been a little bit quicker with
- 15:17identifying that as a problem for us and, and, and making
- 15:23those adjustments a little bit quicker.
- 15:25I'll take a quarterback having to turn it up and run, then
- 15:27getting it to a tight end or way into their right route wide open
- 15:33in the flat, just being able to turn it up and in some cases
- 15:36with that wide receiver getting a little bit of a push there,
- 15:38having a having a big lane in the alley.
- 15:41So I, I think it's like I said, a little bit of both.
- 15:44I think you got to look at coaching and being a little bit
- 15:47quicker on that adjustment, but it it's still the players got to
- 15:49go out there and make the play. Yeah.
- 15:52And another thing too is did you look at is if you would have
- 15:58told me we held Cal Menunga Menungi, whatever his name is,
- 16:01under 100 yards, I think we win the game.
- 16:06Hell yeah. Ever since you had Rutgers on
- 16:09the schedule, you thought this is what we have to do.
- 16:13We have to stop the run game, even the run game as a whole.
- 16:16I don't know what they had, what they have, 150 or something. 153
- 16:20on 52 so they. Were I thought they would run
- 16:22for 300 yards easy, so I'm not saying that's an excuse, but if
- 16:27you prepare to play them a certain way that that's what's
- 16:32in their heads. You know what I'm saying, That
- 16:33they're they're the the kids that you have on the field are
- 16:39prepared to do this job. Now, it takes some time to get
- 16:45them. The coach can adjust so he can
- 16:46tell them to adjust, but it takes some time to get it to
- 16:48happen. And sometimes it just takes
- 16:50athleticism. Think about the last play, their
- 16:54last offensive play. I won't say last offensive play,
- 16:58but the play before they kick the field goal at the end, we
- 17:02were beat. Woodson was out of position, You
- 17:04know, he had duck down inside, but him wanting to win and him
- 17:08being athletic enough to read, you know, to to redirect and go
- 17:13and save a touchdown. First of all, that's a testament
- 17:19of to him. But also, I mean, sometimes
- 17:22players just got to they got to go through it, you know, and you
- 17:25got some young guys that's inexperienced.
- 17:27You also got some old guys that are experienced and still
- 17:29screwing up. But you know, like it's a lot
- 17:33that went on in that game, man. And I understand the knee jerk
- 17:37reaction to be mad. I'm more pissed than probably
- 17:40anybody that watched the game and I didn't even watch the
- 17:43whole game. I had to go back and watch it,
- 17:44you know, but I expected to lose a game.
- 17:47I hate to say that I never want that to come out of my mouth.
- 17:50But last week if you go back and watch the show, I say y'all, I
- 17:53think it's going to be a close game and I just don't have the
- 17:55confidence that we can pull off a close game because of our
- 18:00coaches. So I wanted to start with that
- 18:03exercise just so we can get the juices flowing a little bit.
- 18:06I know we got a lot to get into, but that is that's what's been
- 18:11going through my mind since Saturday.
- 18:14All of that. You know what I'm saying?
- 18:16And it's not a it's not a, let's say he did it.
- 18:19Let's say he did it. There's nobody that sits on
- 18:22Twitter. They can tell me exactly why we
- 18:23lost his game. And I want them to so I can be
- 18:26like, yeah, you're right. But everybody's saying fired.
- 18:28And this is another thing too. And then I'm going to get we can
- 18:31get started. I went, I didn't, I didn't.
- 18:34I didn't see the, I didn't see the J Lane fumble until
- 18:39yesterday. OK.
- 18:41I was watching, you know, condensed game a little bit.
- 18:45I, I got home about third quarter when I was texting, you
- 18:47know, so I watched from third quarter on, but I went back and
- 18:51and said, let me see this fumble, man, That's just a
- 18:53player making a play. Like, I didn't even know when
- 18:56his hand hit the ground and the ball bounces out.
- 18:59I didn't know that that's a fumble.
- 19:00I thought, oh, he's down. No, the hand, any other part of
- 19:04your body can hit that man. Sometimes that's just hokey
- 19:06luck, I guess, you know what I'm saying.
- 19:08Do we really fire? Do we really fire the special
- 19:13teams coach for that play? Some of the other stuff maybe,
- 19:16but for that play, a player trying to make a play and just
- 19:20not getting down, I guess, yeah, I don't think cost that fumble,
- 19:24yeah. I I think that's a big problem
- 19:26that we see sometimes is that when we're emotional, we, we tie
- 19:32everything. Everything we see is indicative
- 19:35of of what our problem is in our head.
- 19:38So like we've got in our head, yes, Sue is a problem.
- 19:40We've had special teams excuse. We have this.
- 19:43And we have we still you got. Together, yes, you do still
- 19:46definitely is done. And that's that's a discussion I
- 19:50think we'll have later. But you know, I think I said it
- 19:53earlier, sometimes you need to use a knife down a machete.
- 19:57That yes, you have said that. That has been one of your look.
- 20:01At the problems, we need to actually address the problems
- 20:04and cut out the problems, not take a machete to everything.
- 20:08Not not everything that goes wrong is necessarily.
- 20:11For every problem for every. Reason sometimes shit happens.
- 20:14For every reason that we love Jay Lane is why he fumble that
- 20:17ball. True a couple of weeks ago when
- 20:20he took one for a touchdown when people was all around.
- 20:22I'm like, don't run that, don't run that and he and he's gone.
- 20:28You know what I'm saying? So it's like how do you tell him
- 20:31not to try to make a play and that happens.
- 20:34I get it man. You know, just stuff like that,
- 20:37man. I just again, it is Tuesday.
- 20:42Hopefully all the alcohol is out of everybody's system.
- 20:44I just want y'all chat everybody watching.
- 20:48If you watching the next day, that means it's Wednesday.
- 20:51Slow down, Just slow down and get some take a breath.
- 20:55You know, go in your tweets hard as you want to, but when you two
- 20:58and three days later, if you can't come with the substance
- 21:01behind it, because I'm that kind of dude, you know what I'm
- 21:03saying? When you want to talk football,
- 21:04let's talk substance. I'm good.
- 21:06I'm good to fire everybody. I care.
- 21:08All the time. Every other day.
- 21:10You can fire everybody. I'm fine with that.
- 21:12I I don't have no ties to no coaches.
- 21:14You know what I'm saying? I care about watching the kids
- 21:17play. I care about watching the Hokies
- 21:18play. But if we're just going to get
- 21:20on the timeline and we just going to fire away these takes
- 21:23over and over and over, just give me some substance behind
- 21:25it. You know what I'm saying?
- 21:26That's all I'm saying. 100% Well, you already started.
- 21:30As we usually do, we like to tell the truth, and we've been
- 21:32telling the truths since the first iota.
- 21:35You said it and you talk about substance, so I'm going to give
- 21:39you my first substance. So we talked about what went
- 21:41bad, y'all. We got an identity problem
- 21:44because we can't run the ball 27 times and pass the ball 27
- 21:49times. We cannot do that.
- 21:51And that's what happened Saturday.
- 21:53We ran the ball 27 times. We ran the ball 27 times for 183
- 21:58yards. Do the math.
- 22:01That's almost 8 yards of carry. We passed the ball 27 times.
- 22:06We, if you tell me we're 5050 the rest of the year, I couldn't
- 22:09tell you what the the record's going to be, but we can't do
- 22:12that, y'all. I think it's situational too.
- 22:15And and and go with me on this. I think if we get to 27, but
- 22:22it's like 6535 run early in the game and we've got a 8 or 10
- 22:27point lead and we can start get doing a little this little that
- 22:31work some screens in, you know, work, work different areas of
- 22:35the field in the passing game. Being closer to 5050 is not a
- 22:38problem. But when you're running for 8
- 22:40yards of carry and you're 5050 and you're having very
- 22:44ineffective work through the air, like what what are we doing
- 22:49here? We we got to understand the flow
- 22:51of the game. And I think that's where some of
- 22:52this inexperience in like sticking a little too rigidly to
- 22:56the opening game plan. When you see that pay things
- 22:58aren't quite going the way we want them to.
- 23:01We need to do something a little different.
- 23:05I don't even know if I want to go in.
- 23:06I don't even know if I want to do.
- 23:08I mean, I don't even know what to start.
- 23:10I'm telling everybody to calm down.
- 23:11Like I didn't thought about this.
- 23:12So this is it. This is this is how I feel.
- 23:16You have one legit in the NFL guy on that offense right now,
- 23:22he is your running back. He's #33 he has left it all on
- 23:26the field for us. Every time he's able to play,
- 23:29your offense has to go through him that that's it like we are
- 23:35over thinking things. We putting a fucking backup
- 23:37quarterback in to be in the slot, the play receiver to set
- 23:41up for some play that who we going who we going to run the
- 23:44play against. We don't lost two games.
- 23:46What what are we doing? And then I look at a wide
- 23:49receiver come in like Takahi and I'm like, Dang, he's got some
- 23:52great feet. Why don't we give him the ball
- 23:54in space, Things like that. I do not understand.
- 23:57I'm not telling them and I said this on on on the timeline.
- 24:02I said I would probably go to my NFL running back and say, how do
- 24:07you feel, man? How many times you think we need
- 24:10to give you the ball 3025 you taking care of it 25 times.
- 24:16You know, you feel you feel like Jamal Anderson, you want to you
- 24:20want to take it 60 times today. I'm not saying give him the ball
- 24:2360 times. What I'm saying, if he's
- 24:25averaging 8 yards a carry, 5 yards a carry, and he's telling
- 24:30you he can go, like you got to get him the ball, the office has
- 24:34to go through him and that's going to open up other stuff.
- 24:36And also, I'm not a quarterbacks coach, Tyler Bowen, and a
- 24:41quarterback coach either, but everybody told me that was going
- 24:44to be fine. So I ain't going to say nothing.
- 24:47Kyron is not the quarterback that they trying to make him be.
- 24:50They got to let him go be Kyron. I think I said this last.
- 24:53Week 2 weeks ago. Maybe two weeks ago, just let
- 24:56him go be him when things breakdown and he starts running.
- 24:59I don't know if he's been told not to run.
- 25:01I don't know if he don't want to run.
- 25:03I don't really know if 33's hurt and he's 75% and he's still
- 25:06giving us what he's giving us. I still got to say, hey man, can
- 25:10you go? But back to like you got to let
- 25:14Kyron be Kyron. Quit trying to make him a a drop
- 25:17back passer and throw the ball 30 times with him down.
- 25:22It's just not working that you have to find your identity
- 25:26because the one we're trying to create is not the real idea.
- 25:30The one we're trying to create is not who we are.
- 25:33And and that is that's what's bad right now on the offensive
- 25:38side. We already talked about the
- 25:39defense. It's it's, it's, it's
- 25:40discipline. It's the discipline of staying
- 25:42with you, man, staying committed.
- 25:45And it's not once, it's not twice.
- 25:48It's not two games. It's three games because that
- 25:50ODU game, we saw it on that one play.
- 25:53We saw that one play. So you know, it's here.
- 25:56It's not oh, they're just better than out scheming us.
- 25:58No, because that was over to you.
- 26:01That shouldn't have happened there.
- 26:03And we've already hit the other thing I want to talk about and
- 26:05thank you, Tally for doing it because you're making this go
- 26:07quick for us. We're not prepared.
- 26:11We're not prepared. Every week we look so unprepared
- 26:17and even more so when the bad things happen.
- 26:21Bad things are going to happen right in football.
- 26:23Bad things are going to happen in sports in general if you play
- 26:25them long enough. So when the first bad thing
- 26:29happened Saturday, which was the fumble, it just looked like, Oh
- 26:33my God, here we go again compared to what happened one
- 26:37minute and 30 seconds earlier. 2 yard loss in the backfield.
- 26:41I think we had, do we have a sack on that first drive?
- 26:44We had multiple. They lost multiple yards on
- 26:47multiple plays on that first drive and they had a punt and
- 26:52then we were deering headlights for the next.
- 26:55What felt like what felt like the next quarter and a half.
- 26:59And to me, that's being prepared.
- 27:00That's the coaches like snap out of this shit, y'all.
- 27:04This game 00, Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:09And I think the the sloppy play in general, I think on both
- 27:12sides of the ball, whether it's the, you know, preparedness and
- 27:16not really being where where you need to be with your eyes and
- 27:19trust in that from a defensive standpoint, being a little more
- 27:25reckless with the ball than you'd like to see on the
- 27:29offensive side of the ball. I mean, you know, effectively
- 27:33what if you factor in the safety, the turnover on downs
- 27:37and the turnovers themselves, It's like, you know, five or six
- 27:41turnovers where you where you gave the ball back to Rutgers
- 27:45without punting or scoring right?
- 27:48So this is this is a problem because it puts them in plus
- 27:54territory right out the gate. You got a running game.
- 27:57I mean, we're we're lucky between the missed field goals
- 28:00and the Woodson's strip fumble, they're right at the goal line
- 28:05that it wasn't worse than it was, right.
- 28:09And and a lot of that goes to the turnovers because pretty
- 28:12much every one of those, we set them up in pretty good field
- 28:15position. And we keep doing it.
- 28:18Yes, we do All righty. So real quick, anything y'all
- 28:25want prepared for anything that shocked y'all Tally, you
- 28:27mentioned it a few minutes ago, the one I the one that I said I
- 28:31was not prepared for. If you told me we held them to
- 28:34what we held them rushing the ball per carry.
- 28:37Oh my God, we can whip their ass.
- 28:39We don't beat the shit out of them.
- 28:41They can't get 3 yards of carry. They ain't breaking.
- 28:43They the longest one they had was 12 yards.
- 28:46Oh, if you would show me that's that line.
- 28:49Saturday. At 7:00 and I didn't get to see
- 28:52any of the game. I would have been like.
- 28:55We probably won this game 2817 because they kept trying to
- 29:00pound it down our throats and they they couldn't break.
- 29:04Hey, Curtis, got to tell you something.
- 29:05We weren't prepared for. Split zone.
- 29:08RPO. Even though we've seen it, aim
- 29:12one. And you know what else I think?
- 29:15We weren't prepared for, I've been, I ain't going to say I
- 29:18guess I wasn't prepared for it because I I thought we would be
- 29:21prepared for it, I guess. OK.
- 29:24Rutgers is so. Their physical man, physical
- 29:26shit. And like when I watch.
- 29:28Us play where we are a little bit more physical than we have
- 29:32been in the past. But when I look at a team like
- 29:35that, I'm like they are physical.
- 29:37You know what I'm saying? We got to get more physical it
- 29:41because they're running backs like I'm watching a couple of
- 29:43times where their running backs are being hit by two and three
- 29:46people and then knocking people back and we got people just
- 29:48getting hurt. You know what I'm saying?
- 29:50Just having to get helped off and things and you can't help
- 29:53with injury. But I'm just saying like, what
- 29:56are we, what are, what are we doing?
- 29:58What are we doing with the strength and conditioning?
- 30:00Are we conditioning? How are we conditioning?
- 30:02What's our strength? This has been a problem.
- 30:05Oh man, this has been a problem. We're not Big 10 level.
- 30:08Strength of edition. Right now it's Rutgers from the.
- 30:11Big 10 and I ain't talking like I understand Rutgers is a
- 30:13physical school, but how long are we going to like, how long
- 30:17are we going to wear that that badge?
- 30:20You know what I'm saying? Like you go out and you get
- 30:22somebody who helps you developed.
- 30:26You know what I'm it is it is it the strength and condition
- 30:29program? Are they not getting enough to
- 30:31eat? Yeah, I'll get some black people
- 30:33in there and cook for them kids so they can get some, so they
- 30:36can gain some weight. We're going to put a whole bunch
- 30:38of salt and shit in their food. They're going to have high blood
- 30:40pressure, but they're going to get beat.
- 30:42They they going to. Retain.
- 30:44Water. Retain water.
- 30:46Hey, something like, but for real, it's like when I watched
- 30:50US play against a team like that, I'm like like when I
- 30:54watched US play against Vanderbilt, first of all, when I
- 30:56walked in there, I was like, damn, they.
- 30:58They big like they was. Bigger than I thought they was,
- 31:00you know what I'm saying? Like the big motherfuckers.
- 31:03And then when the game starts going and I see people, it ain't
- 31:08just older, we're getting beat. Like people running past us.
- 31:11Are they doing this? Like when I see us getting
- 31:14pushed down, when I see us getting jammed at the line or we
- 31:18can't jam them at the line, stuff like that.
- 31:21I'm like, damn, they physical, we got a we got to do some, we
- 31:25got to we got to handle some stuff different man.
- 31:26So I wasn't prepared for that. I I knew it would be a physical
- 31:30game, but a lot of times we looking like the nail steel.
- 31:36It's a good way to put. It we are a lot of times we are
- 31:39looking like the nail and and it just.
- 31:43It's not what we're. Well, the whole thing is I think
- 31:45some of us are numb to it because for so many years we
- 31:48were the hammer. We were the hammer on the
- 31:50defensive and the offensive side of the ball.
- 31:53In the last decade plus, it's it's, it's gone the opposite
- 31:57way. I like what Andretti said, man.
- 32:02And I know. To me, it's really weird.
- 32:04We, we, we love. I love Frank.
- 32:07I love Bud. Once in a generation coaches
- 32:11Mike Drenching was a once in a generation strength guy, he was
- 32:15a. Once in a.
- 32:15Generation Strength guy and. Those guys are getting.
- 32:20Paid. 1.21. Point 3 million the best guys in
- 32:23the country are getting paid insane amounts of money, but we
- 32:28know the importance of it now right so.
- 32:31We'll. Move on.
- 32:34We we've already mentioned Tootin and somebody put it up
- 32:38here and Sheldon pulled it out for me too.
- 32:39So Steven, shout out to you. He has the most missed tackles
- 32:43in the country, 30 in four games.
- 32:46That's insane. That's an insane amount.
- 32:49He's got a ton of yak, so he's making contact. 148 yak of the
- 32:58100 and excuse me, 148 yak. That was our total on Saturday,
- 33:04so 148 yak. So whenever we were running, we
- 33:06were getting contact early. We kept going.
- 33:09So shout out to those guys. But what else do you all like?
- 33:14Because tally we we lost this game by three.
- 33:17We didn't get could it have been 13 Brian?
- 33:21It could have could we have won by 13?
- 33:24Yes. So the whole thing.
- 33:27Is as bad as it is and like Tally, you know you had the
- 33:31space going on Saturday night. Shout out to you for getting
- 33:34that thing going and giving everybody a voice.
- 33:39I loved it. I.
- 33:39Was trying to sit here at one point I said tally, I can't jump
- 33:42on my Mama sitting next to me. I can't.
- 33:44I can't jump on right now. I want to but I can't.
- 33:48And. You're getting all the.
- 33:50Voices and your hearing stuff but we were all doom and gloom.
- 33:54But you start looking it's like. There's some.
- 33:57Good things still happen. Yeah, man, it's.
- 34:00You know first of all, listen, let me tell y'all something.
- 34:03Protect your mental man, protect y'all's mental health.
- 34:08Y'all get so wrapped up in this sports and we all.
- 34:12Got something? Tied to it as far as like we
- 34:14love the team or we love the players, but man, there's some
- 34:18players in that is mad because they lost too.
- 34:20There's some parents that's mad because the kids didn't get to
- 34:22play. There's some coaches that's mad.
- 34:24So man, they're not just having parties and happy that they lost
- 34:27either. So just got to chill out
- 34:29sometimes man with just how it used to ruin my like before I
- 34:35got deep into my son's sports because now he's old enough
- 34:39where it's serious. It used to ruin my weekend.
- 34:43It used to ruin my week when we lose a game.
- 34:47I'm talking my wife knew like y'all don't bother him he's he
- 34:50ain't in a good mood, you know what I'm saying?
- 34:52But. Now it's just like, I mean, I
- 34:56got to. Just.
- 34:57I'm going to enjoy it and I'm going to be upset and then we
- 35:00going to talk about it. We going to vent to each other.
- 35:01We're going to get it out and I got to let it go.
- 35:04But I'm going to look at things and I'm going to add some
- 35:06substance to it. I'm not just going to.
- 35:09I'm not just trying to create. Some click bait for y'all just
- 35:12to to follow me. I mean y'all going to follow me
- 35:14anyway, you know what I'm saying?
- 35:16I'm going to follow y'all anyway.
- 35:17We, we are family. Like I'm not just trying to get
- 35:20engagement from y'all. Y'all don't got to talk to me if
- 35:22you want to. But if you want to talk man,
- 35:24let's vent and let's get it out. And I'm not just going when I do
- 35:27a space, you know, thank y'all for everybody who showed up to
- 35:30and I do a space. I want everybody to talk but we
- 35:33ain't just going one person talk and then we just going to go
- 35:36with that. Like I want to hear everybody's
- 35:37opinion, you know what I'm saying?
- 35:38We're going to talk it out. I'm going to throw something.
- 35:40Up here real quick, Hokies rock. I don't know your age.
- 35:44We are three guys with kids, with wise, with professional
- 35:47Christians. Like it used.
- 35:50To be bad bad for all of us, but we have gotten older we mature
- 35:54and if you're older than us guys speed I'll.
- 35:57Say this too, I think having this outlet and, and just our
- 36:01crew in general, like we're able to kind of talk it through as
- 36:05we're going and understand that I'm going to have one to two
- 36:10hours to vent and get everything off my chest that I want to.
- 36:14But also I've gotten to a point now where I like to process
- 36:18things a little bit before I throw out my big takes.
- 36:22Because a lot of times like I, I, I love the emotion of the
- 36:26moment and, and I try to, I try to feed off of that too.
- 36:30But sometimes you got to let things marinate a little bit.
- 36:33And and and kind of put. Things in perspective and I've
- 36:36I've been trying to do that a lot more and I think one of the
- 36:40hardest things was watching that Vanderbilt game and then, you
- 36:44know, I'm in Nashville. I got to go out and I'm planning
- 36:47on having a good night out on out, on out on the town now and.
- 36:51I'm processing. This loss and I'm like, all
- 36:53right, all right, I got, I got to be able to compartmentalize a
- 36:57little bit. I think as you get older, you
- 36:58get better at compartmentalizing, dealing with
- 37:01losses and to the point he he made there, it's like still.
- 37:08Bothers you? It's.
- 37:09Just you do what you, you manage that bother in a different way
- 37:13and that's what and that's. What I was getting there and
- 37:15Hokey Rock shout out to. Yeah, Hokey's rock shout out to
- 37:18you, man. He said he's been 30 years.
- 37:20He never missed a home game. That's some dedication right
- 37:23there, man. It is.
- 37:24All of y'all is talking. Hey, y'all better shut up.
- 37:25This man has been putting serious time and effort into the
- 37:28program, but no kind of how Brian put it was perfect, man.
- 37:32It's just now I have more outlets that I have people that
- 37:35I can talk to. And I mean when I say it doesn't
- 37:38bother me the way it used to. Like I'm on blood pressure
- 37:40medicine. Y'all like this is serious.
- 37:42I'm 38 years old. I know some of y'all may have
- 37:44seen me. You may have seen me.
- 37:46I'm a big ass dude, man. I'm 6 to 380 lbs Like I, I can't
- 37:52be, I can't have my head hurting for two days because we lost.
- 37:57That's what I when I say it doesn't bother me like that.
- 37:59Like the doctor was like, do you like living?
- 38:01Like you can't be getting that mad.
- 38:04You got to chill out. And that's how I used to be like
- 38:07ears hot, you know, eyes boiling water.
- 38:10You can boil rice with the water to come out of your eyes.
- 38:12Not like I'm crying, but you just, you just pissed and not
- 38:15pissed for like 15 minutes after the game.
- 38:18I'm talking pissed for 2-3 days a week.
- 38:22Like I just can't, I can't do that no more.
- 38:23And like these guys have helped me.
- 38:26If you don't have a therapy session, you got one now.
- 38:29You, you hop on here. You hop on here Tuesday night
- 38:32with us, man, Grab you some Gatorade or some fake Gatorade.
- 38:36Let's let me show you all this, too.
- 38:37I'm getting a little fake Gatorade.
- 38:38Hey, this is sports. Drinks from from Sam's Club.
- 38:43It's cheaper. I love it.
- 38:45They just call it. What it is?
- 38:47I think it's they don't sugar coat that shit at all.
- 38:49I think it's got more sugar in it.
- 38:51But hey, this what I've been knowing man, I'm trying to save
- 38:54money. They kill in my pockets.
- 38:57But no, you're making. The point tally, and maybe
- 38:59that's what it is these last 5-6 years for all of us.
- 39:03It's between Twitter social medias this.
- 39:07Especially. And for y'all out there
- 39:10listening, and it's a lot of y'all tonight, put it over
- 39:13there. Let that be the place where you
- 39:15get all your shit out right here, right in the comments
- 39:18section. Tell us how you feel.
- 39:20Oh man, I don't know, Andretti. The Eagles are a roller coaster,
- 39:25just bad. As the I'm going to put it up
- 39:27here, the Eagles are a roller coaster just as bad.
- 39:30Talk about inconsistent. Play from team with talent.
- 39:35Man, I don't I don't know how Andretti standing after the
- 39:39weekend that he's had between watching his two teams and I
- 39:44like what Steven said Steven, this is the one of the first
- 39:46time I've seen your name and I'm going to put you up for a second
- 39:48time tonight. Support them support them
- 39:52because trust me, you got two guys on this podcast when Brian
- 39:56and Tally they played collegiate football.
- 39:58They. Nobody's going.
- 40:00Out there and wanting to lose right those guys are giving it
- 40:05everything they've got but they are 18 to 20 year old kids go
- 40:08back to what you were doing at 18 to 20 year old to 22.
- 40:11Think about your mentality at that point.
- 40:14Yeah. And and I don't.
- 40:15Think the money being involved plays that big of a role for me
- 40:20personally. Number one is, is because it
- 40:23should have already been there to begin with with the way
- 40:26others were making money off of what they were doing on the
- 40:29field and their talents. So and that is what it is.
- 40:32That's another conversation. But you know, I, I think I think
- 40:36the thing we like to do and I think the thing that that we do
- 40:39pretty well is that we're, we're going to give you our honest
- 40:42opinion about what's going on, who's doing it, why it's going
- 40:46on. But we're still, it's all, it's
- 40:48still all love like we love. This is still a.
- 40:51Family. They're talking about the team,
- 40:53we're talking about you guys, we're talking about the whole
- 40:56whole entity of Hokey Nation. So it it's all love.
- 41:00We all want the same thing. At the end of the day, everybody
- 41:03wants the same thing. Everybody wants to win football
- 41:05games. 100% one. 100% we got to just a couple more things to hit
- 41:11here. Before we jump out.
- 41:13I want to give a shout out to Xavier Chaplin because Xavier
- 41:16Chaplin got banged up pregame for Marshall.
- 41:19He played like 2 snaps and he got off the field.
- 41:22That man absolutely held it down on the left side Saturday.
- 41:26He mauled people in the run game.
- 41:28You didn't see any pressures from his side.
- 41:32And The thing is the way he's developing, and this is where
- 41:36I'm going to say something and some people are saying Ron Cook
- 41:39needs to be fired. I've told Tally this, I've told
- 41:41Siegel this. There are two kids on the line
- 41:44that have had his tutelage more than anybody like his.
- 41:47Just his tutelage. No other outside voices.
- 41:51That is Xavier. Chaplin, and that is Braylon
- 41:54Moore. Guess who have been probably the
- 41:56most consistent guys on the line all year, the two young guys.
- 42:00So when people say fire on crooks, he's the POF.
- 42:03He don't know how to coach your two young guys who literally he
- 42:07took from when they were red shirt freshmen to right now
- 42:11they're playing the bet. So is it him?
- 42:13Is it him? Is he the problem?
- 42:16Or is it Oh no, they're just. Really good they could,
- 42:18honestly. Well, honestly to me man, what I
- 42:22think, and it happens a lot of times in sports from Little
- 42:26League up to college to pro. Sometimes coaches overthink
- 42:32things, man, and they want to give the seniors their
- 42:35seniority. That work seniority screws up a
- 42:38lot of stuff. I told some people this in the
- 42:41space the other day, man. And I'm not saying like again,
- 42:45somebody just put it in the Johnny Garrett is doing well as
- 42:47well. If you look at the.
- 42:51Line, you don't have to have played any kind of offensive
- 42:54line. You can look at the line and go,
- 42:56oh, that motherfucker right there is worse than them or he's
- 42:58better than them, but he's able to block that guy.
- 43:00He ain't. But we keep putting these guys
- 43:03out here who who can, who continuously get beat and that
- 43:06and somebody say as well think how bad some of the other people
- 43:10have to be for them not to put them in.
- 43:12You don't know what they're going to do.
- 43:13Like you don't have enough sample size.
- 43:16To understand your right tackle. Has sacked your quarterback and
- 43:19almost broke his ankle. Like, I know it was a funny clip
- 43:23to some people and I know some people was always so bad.
- 43:28And it's like, that wasn't a funny clip.
- 43:30Like if you go look at it and somebody said somebody put,
- 43:33yeah, somebody put on Twitter or one of those guys that put it up
- 43:37said nobody even touched him. He just fell down.
- 43:40No, he had a £330 man step on his Akon and roll it like.
- 43:45I don't know what I would have did.
- 43:47I might have shitted on myself. Somebody step on my right now
- 43:50like but I had got the other day and couldn't walk.
- 43:53So I'm just saying man, I ain't making no kind of excuses for
- 43:57anything that happened. It looks bad, but the.
- 44:00Coaches keep trying. To go with this, and I
- 44:03understand some of it is, oh, we want a red shirt, some people,
- 44:06so in the future we do have them to go here.
- 44:10Sometimes you got to go. You got to let some people go,
- 44:13man. You got to see what they got.
- 44:14You got to give them a chance under the lights.
- 44:17You got to get somebody out of the game and say, hey, man,
- 44:19you're screwing up, Come stand with me for a minute.
- 44:21I don't understand why we don't do that.
- 44:24I. Don't I really?
- 44:25Don't you know? And that's not just the
- 44:26offensive line, you know, you can go to the wide receiver
- 44:29room. Why?
- 44:31I love our wide. Receivers.
- 44:33But sometimes our wide receivers is missing balls.
- 44:35That's right, To the head. So guess what, if you miss a
- 44:38bark, I'm standing by me. Let's try another guy and see
- 44:40what he has. You know, Aiden Green made a big
- 44:42catch the other day. How many times have we really
- 44:44targeted him this year? You know, and some people say,
- 44:47well, the quarterback did this. Well, if you're the offensive
- 44:50coordinator and you really, really want to get somebody
- 44:52involved, you probably could tell the quarterback, we're
- 44:54going to run this play and I want you to throw this ball to
- 44:57that person. They intercepted.
- 44:58Let it happen. Like if you really want to get
- 45:00somebody involved, you can get them involved.
- 45:02Hey, we're ignoring the ex receiver.
- 45:04We want to get him involved. We're.
- 45:08Not doing some of that stuff. So again, the seniority thing, I
- 45:13think that kills a lot of teams. And from what I'm seeing right
- 45:16now, it's been a problem on ours.
- 45:19What? What?
- 45:19I'll add to that tally and you make really good points there.
- 45:22And I'll add this. I think the problem with the,
- 45:27the, the, the right tackle, you know, I think that's who we're
- 45:30mainly talking about in this scenario, right?
- 45:33The problem he has is that his negative plays are super fucking
- 45:37negative. Oh yeah.
- 45:39Like. Like.
- 45:42He. He he, he has a run.
- 45:45Of of of pretty decent play, but when he's bad, he's real bad.
- 45:50It it, it cost us first downs, it cost us balls, it cost us
- 45:55points. That's why it's a problem.
- 46:01It could have cost Kyra this. Season for real they got a
- 46:04broken it could have broke his ankle, his leg for real, you
- 46:07know, I don't know but that that's I mean you know somebody
- 46:09said here. APR leads the nation in sacks.
- 46:11I think Parker might be in the top 30 if they actually counted
- 46:15his three. Right.
- 46:17He's got 3, so he's in the. Top he is in the top 30,
- 46:21actually top 25 if you counted Hey Brian, if you can.
- 46:24See it? Put that.
- 46:25Put that quote up. It just went off my when they're
- 46:30talking about practice players versus gamers that haven't been
- 46:34discovered. Said you were listening.
- 46:37Yeah, put that up. That's that's that's a good
- 46:40point, James. I mean, we've talked about that
- 46:43as well. Some people are great practice
- 46:46players. You know, they do everything the
- 46:48coach asked them in practice. And I made this point.
- 46:51I think me and Chris Lester had lunch or dinner and we was
- 46:53talking about it a little bit in practice.
- 46:56You go hard on each other, but you don't go as hard as you go
- 46:59on the other team as far as you may go.
- 47:01Full effort at times, but I'm not going to say certain stuff
- 47:04to you, Brian and you on my team that I would say to somebody
- 47:08else. That's not on my When you get
- 47:10from the football game. It's if y'all have never been on
- 47:14the football field. Like it gets wild, man.
- 47:17You got people talking about people and nowadays I can
- 47:19imagine, man, like they got Internet.
- 47:21They they can find out your girlfriend's name and Instagram
- 47:24and they can they they're probably out there calling out
- 47:26TikTok names. Oh, I did that kind of research.
- 47:29Back in 2000, 2001, you know they do it now.
- 47:32I can imagine what's. Being said out there, they
- 47:34calling people's moms names and sisters and all types of stuff.
- 47:38So some people really can't handle that, you know what I'm
- 47:41saying? Like my kid is not a trash
- 47:43talker. He's just not that kind of guy,
- 47:45you know what I'm saying? So it's really possible knowing.
- 47:48The world. Handle it like.
- 47:51He, he's got better at it now the older these got, but he
- 47:54really, he gets so frustrated he's going to start crying, you
- 47:57know what I'm saying? Not crying as in, like, oh, I
- 47:59need to talk to my mom and dad. It's like he want to fight
- 48:02somebody. I'm like, you can't.
- 48:03You got to play, you got to play through it.
- 48:05You know what I'm saying? So if you want to get in and say
- 48:07it, especially basketball, you want to get in and say it, you
- 48:09got to talk trash to them. So some people, some players
- 48:12really can't handle that. They can't handle that aspect of
- 48:14the game. And it could be going on in the
- 48:16game, but you don't know that if you're not putting people in or
- 48:19you're not taking people out. Because I'm telling you this.
- 48:22If I was playing against #70 And I seen some stuff he done in the
- 48:26past and I seen what he looked like, I'm going to make up all
- 48:29kind of jokes against him to try to make sure that he and also.
- 48:33If I've watched tape on him, I'm I'm mixing in a bull rush and a
- 48:36spin move because every time, yeah.
- 48:38We going to go dance, buddy, you know what I'm saying?
- 48:41Are you like this merengue? We going.
- 48:44We going. We going to wrap.
- 48:44It up here in just a minute because believe it or not,
- 48:46Andrea has put up a good question and I want us to go
- 48:49around because we we always talk about what we can do better
- 48:51before. Well, it's not us, it's coaches
- 48:54and the players and we can talk about a bunch of stuff, but he
- 48:58threw this up here and I'll lead it off.
- 49:02Are we comfortable with the coaching?
- 49:03Staff to pull us out of the depths of where we are.
- 49:05First of all, this is not the bottom.
- 49:06We are not yet at the bottom. The bottom was Marshall last
- 49:11year. That was the bottom because.
- 49:14At that point in. Time Does everybody remember
- 49:16what the record was at that game last year?
- 49:20We went 4:00 and 11:00. Under Coach Pratt. 4:00 and
- 49:2511:00. We walked into the pit game last
- 49:27year every. Single one of.
- 49:30Us, I think with the exception, I can't remember back.
- 49:33I go look at it. I said we were going to lose
- 49:35like it's it's over. This shit's over.
- 49:39So we we can't answer that, Andrea, because in my opinion, I
- 49:43can't answer because I thought we were dead last year going
- 49:46into game five and then the next thing you know, I'm going to a
- 49:49bowl game. Yeah.
- 49:53Well, it it it. Depends on your question.
- 49:55It's a good question, but it's are we comfortable with the
- 49:58coaching staff to pull us out of the depths at the bottom they.
- 50:02Can pull us out. From where we are, you know what
- 50:04I'm saying, what we look like now, but can they get us to
- 50:08where you want to be or where we think we should be?
- 50:11That's a better question. I don't.
- 50:14Think and. This is just me speaking.
- 50:15I don't think that that staff has the capacity to get me.
- 50:19I'm saying me, I don't think they have the capacity to get me
- 50:23to the playoffs. I just don't.
- 50:24I don't think it's enough experience, you know, I just
- 50:27don't. I think pride is a great
- 50:30motivator. I think he's a good salesman.
- 50:33He he has done wonders for Virginia Tech.
- 50:36I'm sure if somebody probably post numbers and stuff about
- 50:39engagement and money, he's probably raised more money.
- 50:42His engagement is probably good from where we were.
- 50:45That's a great thing. But on the flip side, winning
- 50:49games, I don't think the staff is experienced enough to get me
- 50:54to the playoffs because I'm like, it's a 12 team playoff.
- 50:56We should, we got an opportunity to get that now.
- 50:58Well, no, we don't this year. You know what I'm saying for how
- 51:01we're playing. So that's my answer to it.
- 51:05You got to have some, you got to have more experience.
- 51:07You. You you're saying?
- 51:08Basically, they might can pull us out the depth, but they're
- 51:11not going to get us to the mountain top.
- 51:12No, they can. They can.
- 51:14Get us they can get us the bowl game.
- 51:16You know that when you say out of the depths, like the depths
- 51:19is last in the ACC, you know, losing every game.
- 51:23Like can they get us from there? Yeah, they can get us the bowl
- 51:25games. You know, we we probably can, we
- 51:27probably can squeak out six wins and stuff.
- 51:29Like like a dog. I want to compete for the ACCI
- 51:31want to win the ACC and and get a playoff.
- 51:34Like if you win the ACC, you go to the playoffs, you know what
- 51:38I'm saying? Like and the ACC.
- 51:40Is as wide open as it's been in a wide Who's going to win it?
- 51:43Yeah, I mean, I've heard everybody's name thrown in
- 51:46there. I heard Georgia Tech, I heard
- 51:47us. I heard Florida State.
- 51:48I heard Louisville, BCBC. Like, man, people don't know the
- 51:53ACC is always wide open. And it's like, do I trust this
- 51:56coaching staff to get us there? No, I don't, Ron.
- 52:00I I'm. I'm very much.
- 52:04Kind of in in in. Tally's boat here.
- 52:07I think we can. I think the staff is good to
- 52:09give us six to eight wins in a given year, depending on what
- 52:12schedule is, how things fall, what you know, who, who's on the
- 52:16roster that given year. I think I think we can do that.
- 52:19I don't have confidence right now that we can get ahead of
- 52:22that. I did at the start of the season
- 52:24because what I saw was a continued trajectory up.
- 52:29I don't like the way we started this season because we still
- 52:32look like an unprepared team like we did at the start of last
- 52:35year. That's not to say a switch won't
- 52:37be flipped when we get into ACC play, we're playing more common
- 52:40opponents, all that stuff. But that that's still capping
- 52:45our ceiling at that six to eight wins.
- 52:47And you're going to need about 10 to play for the ACC
- 52:51Championship in a given year, right?
- 52:53So I think that's that's where we run into problems.
- 52:55And I think part of it is that, you know.
- 52:58Goes back to that. Consistency piece.
- 52:59And I think the consistency piece ties into the experience
- 53:05of the folks that are at the top of the program.
- 53:07And I think having a first time head coach like Pry isn't the
- 53:10problem. I think pairing him with two
- 53:13first time P4 coordinators is kind of a recipe for things that
- 53:19can get you off off track and it's going to lead to that
- 53:22inconsistency. These guys are capable of
- 53:25putting putting you in a good position.
- 53:27They have not proved to be capable of doing it consistently
- 53:31every week, game to game. And that and that's.
- 53:35Where we're seeing the problems, that's where we're seeing these
- 53:37fissures. And I think, you know, you're,
- 53:40you're kind of learning on the job.
- 53:41And we, we had hoped last year that they, they both turned the
- 53:44corner and it kind of found their footing.
- 53:47And it seems like we're still not quite there yet, right?
- 53:52But I agree with that. That's a great way to wrap.
- 53:54Up this segment because it it's true and the whole thing is
- 53:58because what what I always what what I look at is right.
- 54:03Now we're mad. We are.
- 54:06We were mad last year at this. Time we were happy at the end of
- 54:09the season though. It's still out.
- 54:12There because if and I know people are put in the check,
- 54:15could we get you listen, that's going to be done at the end of
- 54:19the season. We are.
- 54:20In we are in. College football, really do you
- 54:23see people get fired in the middle of the season?
- 54:24So you're saying they need to fire right now?
- 54:26They need to fire right now. You don't know.
- 54:29Because you know, I can sit here and say, do you want to fire
- 54:33everybody? If they win the next 9
- 54:35consecutive games, we go to the playoffs.
- 54:38Would you? Seriously.
- 54:40Because we can sit here. We can say.
- 54:41Well, that's it. That's never going to happen.
- 54:42No, you're saying we're going to lose every game.
- 54:46But if we win non consecutive games, ain't no fucking by going
- 54:50to get fired. Do I think we're going nine
- 54:52games? No, just put that out there.
- 54:54All right, let's roll on. We are brought to you by counts
- 54:58family pharmacy, your friendly neighborhood pharmacy located
- 55:01three O 1 S Main St. in Blacksburg.
- 55:03Go by see Jeremy. The new lead into the boundary
- 55:09corner is Jeremy and Paul with special guests.
- 55:13So with special guests. Blacksburg on the rocks.
- 55:15Baby Jeremy the night he had. Grayson on.
- 55:18I am fortunate with putting and Grayson is here with.
- 55:20Us. Grayson's with us.
- 55:22What he's? In the chat.
- 55:24Baby Grayson's going to be. Grayson's going to be on the
- 55:27show. There we go.
- 55:29There you. Go.
- 55:30There you go. Yeah, We might have to bring
- 55:32Grayson in in a couple weeks just to chat with us.
- 55:35Always talk to our man on the West Coast there.
- 55:38All right, well, let's get into it because believe it or not,
- 55:41the season didn't end on Saturday when we lost the
- 55:43ruckers. We got eight more games,
- 55:45hopefully more than that to play this year.
- 55:48And a quick turn around, quick turn around, short week.
- 55:51The game that we, a lot of us were worried about as the Hokies
- 55:54traveled to Miami Friday night. 7:30 at the shittiest stadium in
- 56:00the country, bar none. I don't care what anybody says,
- 56:04Atmosphere. Shittiest atmosphere, whatever
- 56:08you want to. Call.
- 56:10It. So let's talk.
- 56:11About this team because they are currently four and O and I
- 56:14believe the poll came out there 5th or 6th in the country.
- 56:19Did I hit 7th? 7th, 7th. 7th in the country.
- 56:24And let's talk about the offense first.
- 56:26Brian breakdown, Shannon Dawson's offense.
- 56:28Real quick man. Welcome to the new air raid.
- 56:33Different from the old air raid, right?
- 56:34So still want to get the ball in space to their athletes, make
- 56:39folks miss, crank out those big plays.
- 56:41But definitely a bigger emphasis on being physical upfront,
- 56:44having a reliable running game more so than your typical air
- 56:48raid, similar to what we kind of saw with with Marshall, very,
- 56:53very much a almost a run first air raid.
- 56:58But the philosophies are the same there.
- 57:01And they're, you know, similar to Marshall, not afraid to take
- 57:03shots here and there. They do a good job of getting
- 57:05their best players the football with frequency.
- 57:10All right, well, Tally. You can talk about him a little
- 57:13bit, tell him about the man who leads this team.
- 57:16We're. Talking about Cam Ward.
- 57:19We're talking about Cam. Ward Cam Ward is a.
- 57:21Beast Man Cam Ward is he's more of a.
- 57:27More of a pocket passer. Than I kind of thought he would
- 57:31be whenever I first heard about him but he's a he's a legit NFL
- 57:36quarterback he is going to given to if he's given time sit back
- 57:40there and he's don't dissect your defense he's going to
- 57:43spread the ball out. I don't know how many receivers
- 57:45he has that are over 100 yards, but it's a lot of them.
- 57:49He's, if you're open, he's getting you the ball.
- 57:52And when I say he's going to sit back there and dissect you, he
- 57:54can move too. You know, he's not just looking
- 57:56to take off running. But you can't keep him in a box.
- 57:59He's throwing it underhand, overhand, underhand, like he's
- 58:04legit. So we're going to have our hands
- 58:06full. Yeah, and if y'all.
- 58:08Really want to know about Kim Ward.
- 58:09He came really to fruition in 20/22.
- 58:12He was what? Incarnate Word quarterback at
- 58:16Incarnate Word in 2021? Yeah, 2, two seasons.
- 58:20In FCS went to Wazoo. Had some.
- 58:24Had some good seasons there before going to Wazoo.
- 58:27Real good seasons at Wazoo. And now he finds himself down in
- 58:30Miami. You know, like Tally said, big
- 58:32time dual threat weapon, man. I mean, he's going to be
- 58:35somebody you really got to check in in both areas of the
- 58:39offensive attack there. You know, good accuracy from any
- 58:42launch points. So he'll be able to throw it on
- 58:44the run, throw it from the pocket, whatever you want to
- 58:47see. Got a good mix of arm strength
- 58:49and accuracy, does good on both design runs and improv, even
- 58:54though they don't run a ton of design runs.
- 58:57It's a little bit of a gunslinger.
- 58:59He'll try to get it in there, but he those risks are usually
- 59:01calculated. He doesn't turn the ball over a
- 59:03ton and kind of similar to drones, he can get a little
- 59:07sloppy with his footwork. Sometimes it's processing is a
- 59:10little slow, especially when looking at those zone looks.
- 59:12So can have some holes in his game there, but definitely going
- 59:17to be probably the best quarterback that we look at all
- 59:20year. Well.
- 59:23It's the truth and I mean if you look at his numbers this year
- 59:27y'all and I'm looking strict at stats 4.
- 59:30Games. 1400 yards passing, 14 touchdowns, 2 picks.
- 59:34He's going over 11 per attempt, which is unbelievable.
- 59:40He's only ran the ball 12. Times.
- 59:42He's only ran the ball. Like 12, we got Robbie in here.
- 59:45Saying what I kind of thought and almost put in my notes was
- 59:48that. Oh.
- 59:50Man, don't say that. By the way, I believe he.
- 59:56Was someone they did try to get back in 2022 to come here?
- 1:00:00I feel like yeah. It was he was offered.
- 1:00:02When we we tried, we tried, damn it.
- 1:00:05But let's talk about now a couple of of his weapons.
- 1:00:11Xavier Restrepo, Let me. Let me.
- 1:00:15Just. Open somebody.
- 1:00:18For Xavier Restrepo, we can get to somebody.
- 1:00:21Just his numbers. The first four games this year.
- 1:00:24So the first four games for Xavier Restrepo, if y'all have
- 1:00:27not been paying attention, Xavier Restrepo, he has 20
- 1:00:32receptions already. He already has 360 yards.
- 1:00:35He's already got 5 touchdowns. He's averaging over 18 yards
- 1:00:39every time he touches the ball. You know some other things about
- 1:00:44him as well, and this was sent to me by our wonderful buddy
- 1:00:47Sheldon. He's not a terrible run blocker.
- 1:00:50He's got it like an A slightly above average grade and run
- 1:00:53blocking. I didn't get.
- 1:00:56To watch the. Tape.
- 1:00:56I'm trying to pull data points. Brian.
- 1:00:59What do you see on him? Tally anything you've seen from
- 1:01:02the games. I'll let Brian go first.
- 1:01:05Yeah, I mean, I. Think the big thing.
- 1:01:06I mean, he's their, he's their primary slot receiver.
- 1:01:10You know his, his big plays usually come after the catch.
- 1:01:12He's the guy that can move really well possession receiver,
- 1:01:17but still has that running back type vision, very similar to Jay
- 1:01:20Lane where he can find those gaps in the defense and turn
- 1:01:23short plays into big plays. You know, they got a couple guys
- 1:01:27outside that that do run the deep stuff and that lets him
- 1:01:30operate a lot more open kind of in the middle of the defense in
- 1:01:34those intermediate areas. And he definitely makes his hey
- 1:01:36there and does a really good job of turning those things into big
- 1:01:39place. Yeah, and that's just what I
- 1:01:42was. Going to say, I mean, talking
- 1:01:43about him, he's their guy. He's making a lot of stuff
- 1:01:47happen, but you got a lot of people around him.
- 1:01:49You got Horton is going 64, you got the tidy in Arroyo who's
- 1:01:55going 64. Like they got some big targets.
- 1:01:59He's not a big target. He's like 5-10, you know, 190, a
- 1:02:04good size. But you know, he's not a big
- 1:02:07bruising receiver, but when he gets his hand on the ball, he is
- 1:02:11a playmaker, so. We're going to have our.
- 1:02:15Hands full of man, we are you talking.
- 1:02:17About. Horton, Sam Brown, Arroyo
- 1:02:20Arroyo, like every time he's touching the ball, it's 20 plus
- 1:02:24like big shots downfield for him.
- 1:02:27It's I mean, this is this is this is the Miami they've been
- 1:02:35telling us about for 15 years and it.
- 1:02:37Might come to. Fruition they still they still
- 1:02:41going to. Go out there and win the games,
- 1:02:43but I'm starting to finally see talent with consistency happen.
- 1:02:47Now granted, outside of Florida, you know, not a ton of heavy
- 1:02:53competition, but I mean, you know, we we've seen the same
- 1:02:56thing and haven't done as well on our end.
- 1:02:57So it's not exactly we, we don't have a, a big leg to stand on
- 1:03:01from that standpoint, but they, they've been really good in
- 1:03:06every outing so far. And and it's really hard to to
- 1:03:10poke a ton of holes in what they've done so far. 100.
- 1:03:15Percent. Well, not only do they have a
- 1:03:19great passing game, they also have a pretty freaking good
- 1:03:22running game basically. They they LED Damian Martinez.
- 1:03:28As kind of their, their, their, their rock carrier.
- 1:03:33He's he's gotten 40 carries so far, averaging just under 5.
- 1:03:39But then they've got Mark Fletcher, who's gotten 20
- 1:03:42carries, averaging close to six. And then there's Jordan Lyle.
- 1:03:47And freshman. Freshman Jordan Lyle Freshman
- 1:03:50Jordan Lyle What? Else you got on him, Jordan
- 1:03:53Lyle. 'S got 3 touchdowns so far.
- 1:03:55He's got a 91 yard, 91 yard run. He's averaging 8 yards a carry.
- 1:04:01He's only touched the ball 29 times.
- 1:04:04Already has 233 yards. Like if.
- 1:04:07You got that? Many people over 100 yards,
- 1:04:10somebody's blocking, man. Same thing I said about Rutgers,
- 1:04:13like they got 4 backs, that's over 100 yards.
- 1:04:17You know that's. Almost 5.
- 1:04:20Yards and up carrying the ball. And again, you know, some of it
- 1:04:23does depend on who you playing, but I mean, look at who we
- 1:04:26playing. We ain't got that many backs
- 1:04:27with that many yards. So Jordan Lyle's going to be I
- 1:04:31mean, and, and Martinez as well because they're they're bigger
- 1:04:33backs, both above 6 foot or right at six foot.
- 1:04:37Now Martinez, they say he's going for like 240.
- 1:04:42Lyle isn't that big. He's more of a speed guy than
- 1:04:45Martinez is. But when I'm talking about being
- 1:04:48physical like this in the Miami of finesse, like they going to
- 1:04:52hit, we going to have to we're going to have our hands for him.
- 1:04:55Yeah, Lyle's got that. Kind of like he's he's big, a
- 1:04:58little bit taller, kind of like Adrian Peterson where where he's
- 1:05:02a a bigger back, but still with good speed, whereas Martinez is
- 1:05:07truly kind of a bruiser. So, you know, it's interesting
- 1:05:11to see. I mean, Martinez has the, you
- 1:05:14know, more carries so far. Lyle, definitely more of the
- 1:05:18home run hitter and you know, he's a guy that, yeah, he's
- 1:05:22going to, he's going to take those big plays to the house,
- 1:05:25man. He's not playing around.
- 1:05:29All right, I'm going to throw this.
- 1:05:30Out for you, Brian. I know you watch some tape and
- 1:05:32so you can give us a little bit more background, but overall
- 1:05:36it's impressive to look at their pass block grades.
- 1:05:41You got Francis Nagoya. I know I'm butchering his name.
- 1:05:4587.7 Carpenter to center. 86.8 Cooper, the one of the guards.
- 1:05:5185 McCoy 79. Their worst pass block is Markel
- 1:05:57Bell. He's gotten over 160 snaps.
- 1:05:59He's still at like 65, which is slightly above average.
- 1:06:03Now. It is interesting to see.
- 1:06:05So I, I kind of want to get y'all's taste because y'all, you
- 1:06:08know, y'all, y'all. Look at the trenches when y'all?
- 1:06:10Watch a game y'all both have always told me that because
- 1:06:13their run grades aren't as good, although there have obviously
- 1:06:16the two the three backs that we've mentioned are putting up
- 1:06:19good numbers. So from y'all's take from Brown
- 1:06:22when you watch and take Tally you watching the games?
- 1:06:27Is there any? Opportunities to potentially
- 1:06:30make hay against this online. I mean, I think the big thing
- 1:06:35we. Have to do is penetrate and get
- 1:06:37those early down tackles for loss.
- 1:06:39I think that's definitely the recipe to get them out of what
- 1:06:42they like to do in the running game because they still, you
- 1:06:45know, with that quick passing game, if they're running game,
- 1:06:49it just has to be effective for them to be able to occasionally
- 1:06:52take those shots downfield. And that that's that's where
- 1:06:55they can turn some of those other big plays outside the
- 1:06:57numbers a little bit. So it's going to be important
- 1:07:01that we do well on those early downs and get them out of of
- 1:07:05their schedule. And make them have.
- 1:07:08To get rid of the ball a little bit quicker.
- 1:07:12Yeah. Exactly what Brian said.
- 1:07:15I mean, there is you got some talented people on the defensive
- 1:07:18line that can, you know, create some havoc, but they're getting
- 1:07:23the ball quick, getting the ball out quick.
- 1:07:25And if they come out and they're able to throw the ball wherever
- 1:07:28they want to and you start trying to play the pass game and
- 1:07:32you're not able to put extra guys in the box to stop the
- 1:07:35running backs, you're going to be in for a long day too.
- 1:07:36So it's. Going to be fun man.
- 1:07:42Yeah, rivers must have. Been banged up, Rivers
- 1:07:45significantly less snaps. We appreciate it, new King.
- 1:07:49We appreciate you telling us this because from the look, he's
- 1:07:53going to be back. You know, does everybody come?
- 1:07:57Back How does everybody come back against us?
- 1:07:59It always happens that way, always comes back.
- 1:08:02Right. Not, not, not.
- 1:08:07Not, not a joke there. All right, let's flip over the
- 1:08:10defensive side of the ball. Let's talk about Lance Gendry
- 1:08:12scheme here, Brian. Yeah, I mean, we're looking at
- 1:08:15a. 425 base, but they kind of shift into, you know, several
- 1:08:19different looks. You'll see a 245 from time to
- 1:08:21time. They'll even roll A33 stack out
- 1:08:23there to give a different look, but it's going to be a a base
- 1:08:26425. They like to mix up those
- 1:08:29fronts, bring different pressure from different levels, create
- 1:08:32that confusion for the offensive line in any of the blitz
- 1:08:35pickups. And you know, they like to bring
- 1:08:38the edge pressure. They like to set a strong edge
- 1:08:40with their defensive ends in the run game.
- 1:08:43They do that pretty well. So we're going to have, you
- 1:08:45know, our hands full trying to get that outside zone rolling
- 1:08:48like we've had the last couple weeks.
- 1:08:50And their gap integrity is definitely a hallmark.
- 1:08:52So they they aren't out of place very often all.
- 1:08:57Righty now you got to say gap integrity is good.
- 1:09:03I hate hearing. Could you at least say it was
- 1:09:05bad gap integrity? Give me a little bit of hope
- 1:09:07there. Hey, Tyler, Let's talk about
- 1:09:09Tyler Baron a little bit, man, because I think Hokies players,
- 1:09:12Hokies should know who he is. Yeah, everybody should.
- 1:09:15Know who Tyler Baron is? Woody Baron's little brother
- 1:09:18that everybody thought we had a chance at getting.
- 1:09:20He goes to Tennessee and he transfers to Miami.
- 1:09:23Now he's at Miami. He's got 4 1/2 sacks this year
- 1:09:27so far. Please God, don't let him be
- 1:09:29going against Parker Clemens. He is going to don't speak.
- 1:09:34Like he is going to. Annihilate him.
- 1:09:36So I don't know man, you got to chip some people and and it's
- 1:09:39not just him. New King put it in there.
- 1:09:42I was going to say Bain hadn't even played the best defensive
- 1:09:45lineman has really not played this.
- 1:09:47She's only played like 3 snaps. He's supposed to be back this
- 1:09:50game too, so I ain't Tyler Baron's doing his job lineup in
- 1:09:59the wishbone. I don't know, you know what I'm
- 1:10:05saying. Maybe let's do what Air Force
- 1:10:06do. I don't know.
- 1:10:07We got to, we got to be creative this year.
- 1:10:09Maybe this is the the week that we've been doing all this trick
- 1:10:14settings and stuff. Maybe we're going to run some
- 1:10:16out of it this week. We'll see.
- 1:10:19What else did you catch on tape of Baron?
- 1:10:21He's been pretty well known prospect man.
- 1:10:23Yeah, I mean, he's like. He's kind of got that perfect
- 1:10:25blend of size and speed, right? He's a big boy, but he still can
- 1:10:28move great get off great high motor like not easily fooled
- 1:10:35with misdirection. So he's a pretty disciplined
- 1:10:37player. Only thing he really struggles
- 1:10:40with not not great with his hands especially kind of further
- 1:10:44into a snap if you kind of get on him and can struggle with pad
- 1:10:47level from time to time, you know later in games.
- 1:10:50But, you know, not a whole lot of holes in his game and and
- 1:10:55really a guy that you got to worry about in the run game and
- 1:10:59going after the quarterback. Yeah.
- 1:11:01And across the. Board PFF overall like a an 80
- 1:11:05from PFF, you start getting into the 80s and and you're pretty
- 1:11:10much just in the high 70s. You're fucking good and it's not
- 1:11:13a joke there, but obviously he ain't the only player they got
- 1:11:17you've got. Well, if I can.
- 1:11:21Find the name here, which I can't do.
- 1:11:23You got Michelle Powell. Michelle.
- 1:11:27Michelle Powell. 'S one of their defensive backs.
- 1:11:32A transfer from Washington, he was on the team to play for the
- 1:11:37national championship last year and honestly, if you take a look
- 1:11:43at what he did last year, he had three picks for Washington.
- 1:11:47Obviously a a key player in that team.
- 1:11:50He comes down to South Beach now.
- 1:11:52And what has he done so far for them on tape, Brian?
- 1:11:56Yeah. I mean, he's a guy that played
- 1:11:58some nickel and some safety on that, on that Washington team
- 1:12:02playing mostly box safety in this look, really good coverage
- 1:12:07skills, effective in run support, solid tackler.
- 1:12:12When you look at him in coverage, I like him more in man
- 1:12:15coverage. He can be, you know, a little
- 1:12:19suspect sometimes in zone, but he's definitely not a liability
- 1:12:23there. But definitely man
- 1:12:25responsibilities. I think he's a little bit better
- 1:12:27and some of that can kind of go back to his history as playing
- 1:12:30that nickel role he already. Got 2 picks this year too. 2
- 1:12:35Picks 2. Game and one of them was in the
- 1:12:37Florida game. If I am not must, Yeah, I'm
- 1:12:40pretty positive. I'm pretty sure he.
- 1:12:42Got it. You know, I I really didn't
- 1:12:44watch that game after what happened at 12 O clock that day.
- 1:12:47I don't have any. I don't have any issues not
- 1:12:49watching any other game right? All righty.
- 1:12:52Last man to look at here. Francisco is that who it is.
- 1:12:58Francisco all. Right.
- 1:13:02Wait a second, I already said this name once.
- 1:13:05What are you saying? Hey brothers, we got brothers
- 1:13:07on. The scene, Jeezy, you got
- 1:13:08Francis. And Francisco?
- 1:13:11What? What's Francisco done done so
- 1:13:14far on the stat line? You got that up, darling?
- 1:13:17He's already, Yeah. It's looking like he's got two
- 1:13:19sacks already. He's got about 28 total tackles
- 1:13:22at the moment. Linebacker position, of course
- 1:13:26he is. You know, stands about 63230.
- 1:13:30He's able to run a little bit senior, so he's been around
- 1:13:35football for a while and we don't have, I keep saying it,
- 1:13:41we're going to have our hands full.
- 1:13:42High offensive line is going to have their hands full of Brian.
- 1:13:46What you got on it? Yeah, I mean he's.
- 1:13:48A linebacker with great instincts.
- 1:13:51I mean, definitely kind of a fringe NFL caliber player here.
- 1:13:54Probably a little undersized for most NFL schemes, but plenty big
- 1:13:59for for what we're dealing with here.
- 1:14:02And he kind of do it all. He rushes the passer pretty
- 1:14:04well, plays the run coverage pretty well, decent in in in
- 1:14:08pass pro coverage as well. So I'd say, you know, probably
- 1:14:13his biggest attribute. He's a really great lateral
- 1:14:14defender. He moves side to side very well
- 1:14:18and sometimes he does struggle to match up in in man coverage.
- 1:14:22That probably be his biggest weakness.
- 1:14:23But other than that, solid linebacker overall, really going
- 1:14:28to be a tough, tough guy to hang with.
- 1:14:31Yeah, and he is. Literally their best PFF graded
- 1:14:36run defender. So clearly those instincts show
- 1:14:39off clearly the numbers that you've got there, tally, it's
- 1:14:43telling the story. The guy's a good linebacker.
- 1:14:46So there are some of the key players.
- 1:14:49Again, the new King. Thank you.
- 1:14:51Thank you for a couple of the infos there.
- 1:14:53We know y'all, we know y'all, y'all should beat us, but y'all
- 1:14:56still trying to be hiding stuff. Like why y'all trying to hide
- 1:14:59stuff against us? We need that good.
- 1:15:02All righty. Well, we got that done.
- 1:15:05Let's get into the keys for the Hokies because you still got to
- 1:15:08play the game and we see we still have to play the game.
- 1:15:13We've seen crazy. You should have them before, but
- 1:15:15tally for you what is your key this week for the Hokies?
- 1:15:19Got to find an identity. Man, got to find a offensive
- 1:15:23identity, got to figure out what kind of team you want to be
- 1:15:25moving forward, whether you win or lose the game, and you got to
- 1:15:29go out and you got to execute that identity.
- 1:15:31What we've been doing not working.
- 1:15:35Yep, and and. Not working out the gate.
- 1:15:37I think that's the big thing is, is the the game plans are rough,
- 1:15:43but I'm going to go a little bit of different area there.
- 1:15:45I'm going to say we got to limit game altering mistakes, whether
- 1:15:50that's turnovers, whether that's not being able to stop the same
- 1:15:54play 9 times 8. Was only eight.
- 1:16:00Well, they ran it 9. Times they only completed 8 of
- 1:16:02them. And they and they and they.
- 1:16:05Ran it again and they actually the quarterback rushed so it was
- 1:16:08still a successful play. So I'm counting 9.
- 1:16:13But just in general? Game altering mistakes, you
- 1:16:16know, you got a safety because you're, you know, you're right
- 1:16:18tackle, try to get your quarterback ankle broken.
- 1:16:22You know, we had a whole lot of plays that we left on the field
- 1:16:25that changed the the the shape of that Rutgers game.
- 1:16:29We got to limit that because if we don't limit that, that this
- 1:16:32game can get real ugly. If we limit that and we do what
- 1:16:36Tally was talking about and have an offensive identity, we might
- 1:16:39at least have a chance of of pulling the upset here.
- 1:16:43But it's going to take a lot, all right, and.
- 1:16:46Mine's not far from either of y'all, but it's it's play the
- 1:16:48complete game. We have seen stretches in this
- 1:16:52season where if you say if they play that game four quarters,
- 1:16:57they can hang with anybody in the country.
- 1:16:59But then there's been those quarters where it's been like
- 1:17:01they play like that. They may lose to the worst team
- 1:17:03in the country about 10 points. So it's play that complete game
- 1:17:07come out strong, make the adjustments quicker and to your
- 1:17:12point tally and it's it's both right.
- 1:17:15If you come out, you got your identity strong.
- 1:17:18OK, that's something you can take out of this game going
- 1:17:20forward because that's what we've got to find and this is
- 1:17:25the week. If you can find it this week
- 1:17:26going forward, absolutely wonderful prime to your point,
- 1:17:29the game alter mistake because it's not.
- 1:17:34One game it's 2. Games this year, those huge
- 1:17:37mistakes have effectively cost us the game.
- 1:17:40Those two mistakes have effectively cost us two games.
- 1:17:43So if you keep that and you play clean, maybe you do have a shot.
- 1:17:48So who knows? But as always, we give our
- 1:17:50predictions and we are not the homers of it.
- 1:17:54Tell them I'll let you go last on this one because I always let
- 1:17:57you go 1st every week. So I'm going to let you hear
- 1:17:59what other people got to say first and I won't go.
- 1:18:01That's fine. I do not see US winning this
- 1:18:04game. This was one.
- 1:18:05Even in the preseason, I said we would not win.
- 1:18:08I do think it's markedly close. I think it's at 19 1/2 right
- 1:18:11now. I think it's a little closer.
- 1:18:14I think a 3828 loss, unfortunately for the Hokies.
- 1:18:20I guess it's my turn. You know I.
- 1:18:23Think when we were looking at this, you know, Robbie's got to
- 1:18:26fear the Hurricanes coming through.
- 1:18:27I don't know if that's going to impact the game.
- 1:18:30We'll see to be determined, but just looking at kind of what
- 1:18:35what we've seen, what we what we know at this point.
- 1:18:40I don't know if I can trust. This offense enough to to hang
- 1:18:43with these guys for four quarters, I've got us losing
- 1:18:47this one by two touchdowns. So we still get under that
- 1:18:51spread, but we don't quite close the deal.
- 1:18:54It's going to be a 4127 Hurricanes.
- 1:18:59Yep. So I have us losing this game
- 1:19:044228, I think that. I'm not going to do it.
- 1:19:10But if I was betting, I would bet on us to cover that spread
- 1:19:14just because it's so big and the Hokies like to break my heart.
- 1:19:18They won't just go lose a game by 40 points, you know?
- 1:19:22They won't just go get beat by 28, they want to make it look
- 1:19:26decent. They want me to be invested a
- 1:19:28little bit more for a couple of more games.
- 1:19:30So I got a feeling that, you know, we're going if.
- 1:19:34Anything I think. It looks like the the North
- 1:19:37Carolina State game last year where you know, kind of that
- 1:19:42that kind of looking game is what I feel we look.
- 1:19:45Ugly early, we pull close, then they fade us at the end, fade us
- 1:19:49at. The end.
- 1:19:50Exactly. All right, all right, that's our
- 1:19:52predictions. Feel free to throw yours in the
- 1:19:54chat boxes there. See if anybody's feeling us this
- 1:19:59week. All righty, let's move over,
- 1:20:01because that game's on Friday. And I know we're going to be sad
- 1:20:05and we're going to be potentially grieving Saturday
- 1:20:07morning, cursing on Twitter, being mad, texting each other,
- 1:20:11but we get it out of the way. Early, we get it out of the way.
- 1:20:14Early we get to watch games on Tally.
- 1:20:16You got baseball Saturday. I know I got baseball.
- 1:20:18My daughter my. Daughter's birthday is Friday,
- 1:20:20so she's coming home Saturday, and I have been.
- 1:20:26Nice enough to. Go shopping with her SO.
- 1:20:30I will. Be doing some shopping and
- 1:20:32eating lunch and spending some time with her on during the day
- 1:20:37probably. I got to get back home to watch
- 1:20:39Batman Georgia, all right? Or somebody.
- 1:20:43So you see. I'll be up in.
- 1:20:44Annapolis, Yeah. You're in Annapolis.
- 1:20:47I'm going to be here. I don't know.
- 1:20:48Maryland Ren. Fair.
- 1:20:50Oh man. We got we got baseball in the
- 1:20:53morning, I think early afternoon.
- 1:20:54So I'm going to see all the three 30s and night games.
- 1:20:56So all righty, here we go. Here we.
- 1:21:03Oh, Andretti. You kill me, man.
- 1:21:05You kill me. All right, let's go.
- 1:21:07Big screeners. Not a good game, William.
- 1:21:11All right. First new new kings.
- 1:21:13Pounding his chest a little bit too little bit.
- 1:21:15Too little bit too all right? Brian, you get the first game of
- 1:21:18this big screeners, yeah. We're.
- 1:21:22Going to. Notre Dame Baby Little South
- 1:21:25Bend, Louisville Notre Dame line is 6 1/2.
- 1:21:34I saw Louisville. Play and I was impressed, man,
- 1:21:37this past week and I bet against them in that game.
- 1:21:40I'm not going to do it again, so give me the cards.
- 1:21:44All righty. I also bet against them in that
- 1:21:46game. I did not get to see any of that
- 1:21:48game, but I think the Irish got snapped back to reality and they
- 1:21:53focused on actually doing what they do so.
- 1:21:58Home field. Advantage 6 1/2 points,
- 1:22:00definitely a big step up for Louisville.
- 1:22:02Give me Notre Dame. Notre Dame wins this game by 10
- 1:22:05points, but probably going to be in like if you can tally if you
- 1:22:08guys get back early shopping, this probably I think will be an
- 1:22:11entertaining game to watch. So Notre Dame.
- 1:22:15Shelton's got Shelton has Notre. Dame as well.
- 1:22:22I'm going to drop. Join my brother Brian and say
- 1:22:26Louisville in this game because I thought Louisville have always
- 1:22:30been like Louisville does but they look at president this year
- 1:22:33so I got to go with Louisville. All righty.
- 1:22:37Miranda's riding with us Tally and Jason is joining Curtis and
- 1:22:42Sheldon. So we got a full 3/3 split here.
- 1:22:46Brian first. 1. I know you want me to hit at.
- 1:22:48The end. But I got to mention last week
- 1:22:50real quick how everybody did, they did not put.
- 1:22:53Did Sheldon seriously not hit one right?
- 1:22:55I thought he rode with us on a couple.
- 1:22:58I don't think so. Yeah, I don't.
- 1:23:00I don't think so. I ain't Sheldon.
- 1:23:03What's wrong with you? Well, Tally.
- 1:23:04Everybody should have played you last week.
- 1:23:06Tally went four and two, Brian three and three, Miranda two and
- 1:23:11four, me and her saying two and four.
- 1:23:13The Music Man made some money last weekend.
- 1:23:15He was a very happy camper until he all lost it all in the NFL
- 1:23:18bets on Sunday he went five and one.
- 1:23:21Only one he didn't get right was his was his music pick and he
- 1:23:26says USD does not know how to party was the text we got.
- 1:23:31Saturday not know how to party. At a party.
- 1:23:35All righty, I got the next game I'm going to Happy Valley where
- 1:23:39it is a ranked matchup, Penn State versus Illinois.
- 1:23:42I wish I could have made it to the end of that game Friday
- 1:23:44night with Illinois, Nebraska, but I just, I got sleepy.
- 1:23:49I stay up late on Tuesday night. I stayed up late on Thursday
- 1:23:52night. I stayed up late Saturday.
- 1:23:53I had to get some sleep in there.
- 1:23:56So Penn State, Illinois, Penn State laying 17 1/2 points.
- 1:24:01Brian, before we get to my game, what do you got on this one?
- 1:24:05Yeah, man. What the fuck is up a 17 1/2?
- 1:24:08If you gave me 13 1/2 I might take it. 17 is too rich.
- 1:24:12Give me the 9. I I'm with you on that.
- 1:24:16It is way too rich and I know Penn State's that up and down
- 1:24:20team, but I think Illinois is well enough coach, they are well
- 1:24:24enough coach that they're going to say within at least, like you
- 1:24:28said, 13 1/2, maybe they lose about 14, but they cover the 17.
- 1:24:34Sheldon's riding with. Us tally what you got?
- 1:24:37Yeah, I got to go to Illinois. As well.
- 1:24:39Man, that's a lot of points A. Lot of points to lay a.
- 1:24:43Lot of points to lay and you know what?
- 1:24:45Clean, sweet baby I I I. The I.
- 1:24:49Formation tally the eyes have it.
- 1:24:52Tally we gonna. Run an I formation I formation
- 1:24:54man. We getting Sam Rogers to come
- 1:24:55back there and block again? All righty.
- 1:25:00Shawn's not here to talk about it, but a very interesting game
- 1:25:03out West with the pack twos wazoo versus Boise State.
- 1:25:07Boise ranked 25th. Boise, Memphis.
- 1:25:13We're starting to figure out who probably is going to be the G5
- 1:25:16Rep in the playoffs. This is on the blue turf on
- 1:25:19Saturday. I believe this is a Saturday
- 1:25:21night game. Hey I need.
- 1:25:24To start putting the times when I send you this as well so I
- 1:25:26know how late I'm staying up, Brian.
- 1:25:29On there. Sometimes a late.
- 1:25:32Night, they'll do it, especially it's a 10:00.
- 1:25:35It's a 10:00 game. I might be staying up to 1:00 on
- 1:25:38Saturday night watching this game.
- 1:25:40Boise lay 7 1/2 points at home. What do you think, Brian?
- 1:25:45It's just. A little too much.
- 1:25:47If you gave me 5 1/2, I'd take it. 7 1/2's a little too much.
- 1:25:50Give me a wazoo. Same, I would probably go 3 1/2
- 1:25:57because I think Wazoo has a chance to win this game
- 1:25:59outright. They they won the Apple Cup 2
- 1:26:02weekends ago and they luckily they got a San Jose to state not
- 1:26:06a Boise the weekend after. They damn near lost the week
- 1:26:08after. Wazoo keeps the Wazoo either
- 1:26:12outright wins it or keeps it extra close for seven and a
- 1:26:15half. I'm going to take it.
- 1:26:18Sheldon's riding with us. Tally what you got the half.
- 1:26:21Threw me off a little bit. So I went against my better
- 1:26:25judgement and picked Boise. But I'm going to pick Boise.
- 1:26:28Man, I had already thought about it and said damn, I didn't see
- 1:26:31that that that half the hook. Got after you, so we'll see how
- 1:26:37it goes. All right, Miranda's.
- 1:26:40Riding and Jason's riding with us as well.
- 1:26:43Curtis, we all like the underdog.
- 1:26:45Cali, A lone man with his Boise bat.
- 1:26:48All righty Cali UG. AUGA.
- 1:26:54Little bit different energy. This year, man, I'm telling you
- 1:26:57it's a little bit different energy Alabama brand new without
- 1:27:00Nick Saban on the sidelines. I mean, that's an optimism of
- 1:27:03course, because they they look good, but also.
- 1:27:07Alabama fans don't. Have that confidence that
- 1:27:09they've had with Nick on the sideline.
- 1:27:11This is going to be their first big test and I'm going Georgia.
- 1:27:17I think Georgia's going to go to Tuscaloosa and Kirby's going to
- 1:27:23prove a point. Yep.
- 1:27:27Tally, I'm riding with you here. I got Georgia in this one.
- 1:27:33I think it's just going to be. One of those games where it's
- 1:27:36going to be close, but I think those big game situations are
- 1:27:41going to be the difference and Kirby's well versed in those in
- 1:27:46the SEC in this type of match up at this point.
- 1:27:48So I'm taking the Bulldogs, all right?
- 1:27:53So. First of all, both of these
- 1:27:55teams are coming off a bye. Yeah, they set it up for them.
- 1:28:00Like that I. I can't.
- 1:28:02Thank you, SEC. SEC That's how they.
- 1:28:05Do it man. Like at least.
- 1:28:07It's fair that both are coming off byes, but the last time I
- 1:28:11saw Georgia play, I paid attention to that Kentucky game
- 1:28:15and. I I.
- 1:28:15Know y'all did as well. Kentucky was physical.
- 1:28:20They were in the quarterback, they ran the running back, they
- 1:28:23slowed the game down. I am going to take.
- 1:28:26Alabama here. I'll take two points because I
- 1:28:31think Caitlin Dubois is a good enough coach.
- 1:28:33I think he knows he's going to he's going to kind of a carbon
- 1:28:36copy that Stoops plan. He's going to make it a grind
- 1:28:40fest and he's going to say make Carson Beck beat us.
- 1:28:43You all know my thoughts. Some people love Carson Beck.
- 1:28:45I don't think he's that good of a quarterback.
- 1:28:47He proves me wrong in five years in the NFL.
- 1:28:49Cool, whatever. It's just something that he's so
- 1:28:52highly rated and there's just times he just like against
- 1:28:55Kentucky, like if you were an elite quarterback, you saw what
- 1:28:59they were doing, figure it out quicker.
- 1:29:00He could not figure it out. So give me the points, give me
- 1:29:03Bama, everybody else, everybody else riding.
- 1:29:10With the the Bulldogs, you're a lone.
- 1:29:13Man. Let's go.
- 1:29:16All righty. Our wonderful writer.
- 1:29:17Miranda, if you have not been checking out our work, go to
- 1:29:21boundarypointofbt2.com to see her recaps and her insights on
- 1:29:25the game. Got another one dropping
- 1:29:27tomorrow. Afternoon.
- 1:29:28Yes, it is she. Is going to Waco, TX where the.
- 1:29:34Mormons of BYU. Take on Magnolias of Baylor,
- 1:29:38right? Is that what that place was?
- 1:29:39It was, it was Magnolia, right? That's the thing.
- 1:29:42That's the network. It's the same.
- 1:29:44Shit, I don't know. My wife watched it.
- 1:29:47All the time I had to watch it so it is what it is.
- 1:29:50But we got BYU, Baylor, Baylor laying 3 1/2.
- 1:29:54I know y'all both texted me and like Are you sure this is the
- 1:29:58right line? Like yes Baylor laying 3 1/2.
- 1:30:01Brian, what you got? If you told me two.
- 1:30:04And a hook I'd have been like, all right.
- 1:30:07But the the three no, no, thank you.
- 1:30:10Give me, give me BYU here all righty.
- 1:30:13I'm going with Baylor because the team honest to God should be
- 1:30:173 and one if y'all didn't see the end of the Colorado game.
- 1:30:21Tally saw it. Did you see it, Brian?
- 1:30:22Were you up that late? Oh yeah.
- 1:30:25What in the hell was? Dave Aranda thinking like
- 1:30:27they're at the 50, it's going to have to go down field and you
- 1:30:30play like a Cover 2D. In the back of the end.
- 1:30:35Zone. Yes, you.
- 1:30:37Freaking idiot. He cost them that game.
- 1:30:40So I think they bounced back because I think BYU is feeling
- 1:30:43themselves after smoke in Kansas State, which I stayed up.
- 1:30:46I stayed up late on Saturday night watching that game like
- 1:30:49some degenerate, but give me Baylor because I think Baylor is
- 1:30:53better than that two and two record.
- 1:30:57Sheldon's riding with you. Curtis Tally, what about you?
- 1:31:00I'm riding with him too. I got Baylor.
- 1:31:03All right, we got Miranda and Jason are riding with me.
- 1:31:07Another split skis. There's a split ski right there.
- 1:31:10There's a split ski bet. All righty, we got a lot.
- 1:31:13Of three and three and a lot of solos this week.
- 1:31:16Yeah, let's see what. This last one looks like here as
- 1:31:20we as always bring our music man on as he takes a look down
- 1:31:25Tobacco Rd. at Carolina and Duke.
- 1:31:38In my. Mind, I'm gone, care.
- 1:31:42All along, ain't you see? The sunshine.
- 1:31:49Ain't you just? Feel the moonshine will hang
- 1:31:55like a friend of mine hit me from my hand when I'm gone.
- 1:32:10Hey folks, welcome. Back to another week of guitar
- 1:32:12licks and gambling picks, I'm Jason Long.
- 1:32:15Now, I know there's a big game in Alabama this weekend, but for
- 1:32:18my money, the greatest rivalry in sports, regardless of the
- 1:32:22competition, is and always will be Duke Carolina.
- 1:32:25So I'm headed down to Durham, where the Blue Devils are laying
- 1:32:293 1/2 points against UNC this weekend.
- 1:32:33And here's the thing. I am a lifelong supporter of the
- 1:32:39Duke Blue Devils. This is a Trajan Langdon jersey,
- 1:32:42for crying out loud. So you know who I'm taking.
- 1:32:45As the saying goes, go to hell, Carolina.
- 1:33:03All right, let's go blue. Devils and let's go Hoagies see
- 1:33:06you next week. Jason.
- 1:33:15Tally don't like you right now, that's what Jason.
- 1:33:20He broke. Out the Trajan Langdon Jersey,
- 1:33:22he broke out a Trajan. Langdon Jersey.
- 1:33:26Oh, that. Guy was cool man he is.
- 1:33:29Cool man. Remember, he's a Titans.
- 1:33:32Fan too, so yeah, he's. Just trying to find somebody.
- 1:33:36He's just trying to find somewhere to belong, man.
- 1:33:38He got to have a win somewhere, right?
- 1:33:40That's right. That's somewhere I can say.
- 1:33:42Legitimately, what is that? Langdon was, what, late 90s
- 1:33:47Duke? Literally, he's had that jersey
- 1:33:49since we were like, in middle school.
- 1:33:50It's not a lie. It's not a joke.
- 1:33:53All right. When, when When Jason started.
- 1:33:55Wrestling. He was wearing that jersey.
- 1:33:57The middle school, yeah. That old all righty.
- 1:34:01So we got Duke, Carolina Duke coming off a win over Middle
- 1:34:05Tennessee State and Carolina is a is a freaking basketball game,
- 1:34:10losing 70 to 50 to JMU. It's crazy.
- 1:34:13Yikes. Crazy.
- 1:34:15Brian, what are you doing in this situation?
- 1:34:19It's. Duke, Man.
- 1:34:20It's got to be Duke. UNC is probably playing their
- 1:34:23third string quarterback again. They.
- 1:34:26They look like absolute dog shit on defense against JMU.
- 1:34:34You know, I think even we could have put 50 on them, so not a
- 1:34:39lot. Let's let's ride with the Blue
- 1:34:41Devils. In this one.
- 1:34:44Yeah, I'm with you. I'm with you.
- 1:34:46Carolina looks atrocious right now so I'll I'll lay 3 1/2
- 1:34:51because. Like I think you said, I think.
- 1:34:54We could lay 50 on them. Duke plays like 47 on them and
- 1:34:57wins about 10. Shelton's going with them.
- 1:35:03Shelton's riding with. US could tally what you got
- 1:35:05going with the Duke. The Blue Devils man, North
- 1:35:09Carolina them Jordan checks done cash buddy and bounced and and
- 1:35:14they ain't enough. It's over with it.
- 1:35:18Was it was fun. While it lasted, down there
- 1:35:20while it lasted. I so they the hell out of
- 1:35:22Virginia there you. Go hey, we got.
- 1:35:26A We got a queen sweep clean sweep on this.
- 1:35:28One, there it is. Oh baby.
- 1:35:31Oh man, and there's the. Big board for everybody who who
- 1:35:35did good? Who don't you like?
- 1:35:39Let us know. We've, we've been a little up
- 1:35:44and down. I think I'm like right at 500 on
- 1:35:48the year so far. So now here.
- 1:35:51Here's the officials. You and Tally are about 60% all
- 1:35:55hidden. Three out of five.
- 1:35:57I am a literally, I'm a coin flip.
- 1:36:00You don't just flip a coin, you do just as good.
- 1:36:03The music man, I'm trying to get Jason's exact 712.
- 1:36:08Actually, Jason's doing really good because week one we didn't
- 1:36:11have him pick every game, so he's been picking how many game
- 1:36:15We do what, 5A week, 6 a week, 6 a week, 6 a week, so 6.
- 1:36:20He is 11 for 18, which is not too shabby.
- 1:36:24That's that's probably right with y'all about that 60% hit.
- 1:36:27He's doing a whole lot better than his.
- 1:36:28NFL bets. I'll tell you exactly.
- 1:36:30Well, we have. The, you know, you, you aren't
- 1:36:32involved in that text chain tally.
- 1:36:35It's, it's fun to watch Jason's NFL bets burn.
- 1:36:39Shelton and Miranda are at 41%. They are our low Ballers.
- 1:36:43So real quick, Brian, you have an announcement to make about
- 1:36:47May 7th. Yeah, there's a.
- 1:36:50There's a little bit of something going on May 7th, I
- 1:36:51think you guys have probably already heard of it, but
- 1:36:55Metallica will be at Lane Stadium and I will be there, so
- 1:37:01let's fucking go so. Did now did you get clean in?
- 1:37:04Because there's been so many people you see on the Internet
- 1:37:07right now bitching and complaining about.
- 1:37:10I was like in there for two hours and I could not buy a
- 1:37:13ticket so. I, my, my first run at presale
- 1:37:17was not successful, but second run was a little bit better.
- 1:37:22So that that's where we are first run.
- 1:37:27And I, I don't know if I was because I was doing it on my
- 1:37:29phone or, or what the hell. So I'll, I'll say this and this,
- 1:37:33this will be something y'all might laugh at, but like, and
- 1:37:35then, and I think this is a millennial trait, but there's
- 1:37:40certain things that you do on a computer, in a web browser, and
- 1:37:44there's certain things you do on a phone.
- 1:37:47And apparently buying. Concert tickets and one of those
- 1:37:50things you do on a computer at a web browser.
- 1:37:55All right, well, there you go. There's.
- 1:37:57Bron's bit of advice there, All right, I'm going to look on

- 1:38:16fan Heart's been broken a lot. It's it's going to.
- 1:38:21Be it's going to happen and it's.
- 1:38:25It's going to happen. Usually more than once.
- 1:38:28Because you care about it. That's the piece you care about
- 1:38:31it. And you want.
