- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome.
- 0:22To the coop and let's start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody. Good morning.
- 0:29We are in the middle of an extreme drought where I live and
- 0:33this is not something that is normal at all.
- 0:37I don't think we've seen this happen since I think they said
- 0:402002. And it's normally like our
- 0:45normal wet time of the year where we would get more rain.
- 0:47And I would be saying, wow, we've got a lot of rain and
- 0:50dealing with how to not have plants drown.
- 0:53Instead, I'm dealing with how to not have plants just shrivel up
- 0:58and die and, you know, just. Wither away.
- 1:02Because of the fact that there is 0 water coming from the sky
- 1:06and even when it does fall occasionally, it's not a soaking
- 1:10rain. It's just a like a little bit of
- 1:13a spatter. The ground looks wet and you
- 1:15think oh it rained, but when you put your finger down in the soil
- 1:18to see how far down that water soaked, it might be an eighth of
- 1:22an inch. And I'm not even joking.
- 1:24It's next to nothing. So why am I talking about this?
- 1:28Well, one, it's irritating me and I'm having to manage my
- 1:31state as well as I'm managing water.
- 1:34Now, I have irrigation and I could turn it on, but the
- 1:37problem with turning on irrigation is that a lot of
- 1:40other things get wet. And if we're going to conserve
- 1:43water and we're going to be on the water situation, I want to
- 1:46make sure that I'm doing my part and I'm not being wasteful and
- 1:49I'm making sure that I'm doing the right thing by keeping the
- 1:53water to a limit. So I have to hand water
- 1:56everything. And one that takes extra time,
- 1:59which I actually don't even mind because it gives me a really
- 2:02solid chance to keep eyes on plants to know that something's
- 2:06there. Like yesterday is a perfect
- 2:08example. If I had used irrigation, I
- 2:10would have never seen that. We had some weird little eggs
- 2:14that got laid on top of the zucchini plant.
- 2:17And by me noticing that immediately, I was able to say,
- 2:22OK, this is a pest bug. I took my picture of what the
- 2:27eggs were. I put them into the ChatGPT
- 2:31assistant app that I created for the garden, and immediately it
- 2:34identified exactly what it was. And I had seen that bug in the
- 2:38garden and I knew OK. They have.
- 2:40To go so that was helpful and I always say keep your eyes on
- 2:44things. So this is helpful, me being
- 2:46able to do this. But the real crux of this whole
- 2:51thing in in the going through the drought and the and the hand
- 2:55watering is it makes me stay in the moment so much more because
- 2:59it slows me down. I can't just go out there and
- 3:01quickly water everything. And if it wasn't for the problem
- 3:06and what I was dealing with, I wouldn't have slowed down as
- 3:10much. I would have missed the bugs,
- 3:12the plant would have been eaten and I would have had a bigger
- 3:15issue. So there are are consistent
- 3:17times that we find in our life show up and we think we have
- 3:23everything handled and we don't. Recently I had another thing
- 3:28come up where I was like, OK, you know what, I'm I'm good.
- 3:31Everything's covered, Everything's covered.
- 3:33And then you find out, oh, things aren't covered on your
- 3:35insurance that you thought were covered because you didn't know
- 3:38the questions to ask and the person that you're having do
- 3:41your insurance doesn't have the didn't ask the questions.
- 3:44So it becomes a constant and never ending.
- 3:48And when I say that constant and never ending, I genuinely mean
- 3:52constant and never ending necessity to be able as human
- 3:55beings. To constantly check in and ask
- 3:59the right questions as well as giving ourselves that that need
- 4:04to have our eyes on things. Because the.
- 4:06More we put our eyes on things, the better off we are to make
- 4:10sure we're handling everything as quickly as we possibly can.
- 4:14It is never a good thing to let things sit and and I'll stand by
- 4:19that till the cows come home because no farm, pun intended,
- 4:23there. But it is necessary, so
- 4:25necessary to make sure we do that.
- 4:28And. All those little things that I'm
- 4:30noticing as I'm walking around and watering and picking up on
- 4:34things have been. Nothing but helpful.
- 4:36So while it's. Frustrating that I'm dealing
- 4:39with this while. It is.
- 4:42Actually, some days so irritating because I'm leaving
- 4:45the farm at the end of the day, every day, soaked in water
- 4:48because you have to drag hoses, you have to water everything.
- 4:51You're kneeling down, everything you know snapping back.
- 4:55At you, you. You.
- 4:56Have water everywhere and thank. Goodness.
- 4:59It's at least warm so I'm not freezing doing it, but is it a
- 5:02pain in the butt? Oh, you betcha.
- 5:05And I have to admit that it is for me, constant state
- 5:10management to not keep going. Come on, rain, rain.
- 5:15And I keep thinking, what is the mood I'm in when I'm doing that?
- 5:18Well, it means I'm desperate. So therefore am I manifesting
- 5:21it? Well, no, I don't believe that
- 5:22I'm manifesting or not manifesting rain because Mother
- 5:25Nature has her own idea of what she's going to do.
- 5:28But in the meantime, I. Do believe.
- 5:30That I'm contributing to my problem in a great way and that
- 5:33I needed to stop it. So how do I stop it?
- 5:36Basically for me, it's just recognizing it and course
- 5:40correcting it every single time it shows up.
- 5:42And that sounds so simplistic, but that's exactly how I do it.
- 5:45When I hear myself say it, I'm like, Nope, we're not doing
- 5:49that, stop it. Nope, we're not doing that, stop
- 5:51it. And then I reframe it and say
- 5:53I'm so grateful that it's raining.
- 5:55I'm so grateful that it's raining, even though if it's not
- 5:57raining, I'm going to stay in that state of gratitude because
- 6:00I know it's going to rain. So I hope this is helpful to
- 6:04you. I hope you go back and you look
- 6:06and see what you can put eyes on.
- 6:08Quicker that. Will help you and I hope so much
- 6:12that you guys are in a space where you might not have that
- 6:16time of aggravation and irritation but if you do, I hope
- 6:19this is helpful. All right everybody, I will see
- 6:22you tomorrow. Bye.
