- 0:05Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time, a wave original.

- 0:16Speaker 1: rate us, review us, give us five stars. You only
- 0:19Speaker 1: give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are
- 0:21Speaker 1: a hater.
- 0:22Speaker 2: It is Parko Fridays. Danny Parkins, first day first. What's
- 0:26Speaker 2: going on, big dog?
- 0:27Speaker 3: Chilling, man. How are you? Happy Friday.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Hey, man. Likewise, likewise.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I'm good over here. We got a lot to get to.
- 0:34Speaker 1: We'll get to John Harbaugh being the coach of the Giants.
- 0:36Speaker 1: We got a big weekend of the playoffs. But, you know,
- 0:39Speaker 1: I'm in an interesting place with, you know, where I
- 0:41Speaker 1: stand when it comes to the NFL and, like, being
- 0:44Speaker 1: a fan in that I'm not so far down this
- 0:49Speaker 1: road yet that I actually dislike the other teams.
- 0:53Speaker 2: In my division. You understand what I'm saying?
- 0:55Speaker 1: So like I root for the Lions, but I'm not
- 0:58Speaker 1: yet at a point where I actively dislike everybody else.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Probably because I don't live around those people. You know
- 1:04Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 1:05Speaker 1: But that allows me to still be somewhat happy for
- 1:09Speaker 1: Bears fan Danny Parkins. And it tells me a whole
- 1:12Speaker 1: lot about what it is to be a Bears fan
- 1:14Speaker 1: that you took your ass to Chicago to sit in
- 1:17Speaker 1: that cold and watch that game. And I can only
- 1:20Speaker 1: presume that that's because you just can't assume that's ever
- 1:25Speaker 1: going to happen again.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, I hate going to NFL games.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Yeah, but I felt like a pull from the universe
- 1:36Speaker 3: to attend that game. It was, I would rather be
- 1:40Speaker 3: at Bears Packers in that circumstance than certainly at Bears
- 1:44Speaker 3: Rams or even like Bears fill in the blank NFC
- 1:47Speaker 3: championship game. Like that was just a, it was like
- 1:51Speaker 3: the Caleb arrival, the rivalry, the Saturday night aspect of it, honestly,
- 1:59Speaker 3: kind of a rarity. And the fact that I could
- 2:01Speaker 3: fly in Saturday morning, fly back Sunday morning, not miss
- 2:05Speaker 3: any NFL games. Like it was just like a nice
- 2:08Speaker 3: standalone thing. And it was the biggest sporting event in
- 2:11Speaker 3: Chicago since game five of the 2016 world series. And yeah, man, I've,
- 2:18Speaker 3: even in big bears games before I've never been like, well,
- 2:21Speaker 3: we have the better quarterback, like literally never once, never
- 2:25Speaker 3: once in my lifetime. So it just, it felt like
- 2:27Speaker 3: an event that I had to see in person.
- 2:30Speaker 2: It looked cold.
- 2:31Speaker 3: It was cold.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I think, I don't know. I think I, I don't
- 2:35Speaker 1: know if I've told you the story before. I probably
- 2:36Speaker 1: told on air at some point, but I may have
- 2:39Speaker 1: even told it. I feel like I've told this story
- 2:41Speaker 1: in the last two weeks. But whatever, you're getting it again, people.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I used to do some work for a company out
- 2:46Speaker 1: of Toronto. And so I'd go up there for some stretches, right?
- 2:49Speaker 1: And so I went for my first trip. And it
- 2:51Speaker 1: wasn't so bad, right? And it was a winter month
- 2:53Speaker 1: and the cold wasn't really hitting. And then I was
- 2:57Speaker 1: getting ready to go to another trip. So when I
- 2:58Speaker 1: lived in North Carolina, I looked at the weather. and
- 3:01Speaker 1: it was talking about highs in the mid-30s, lows, I
- 3:05Speaker 1: want to say, in the mid-20s, and that seemed survivable.
- 3:09Speaker 1: If those are the temperatures in North Carolina, we're like, oh,
- 3:12Speaker 1: it's going to be cold, but not like you're going
- 3:14Speaker 1: to die cold.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Okay, no big deal.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I got up there to Toronto, and what that 30
- 3:19Speaker 1: was talking about in Toronto was was not the 30
- 3:22Speaker 1: that I had come to understand, right?
- 3:25Speaker 3: It feels like. They got you. It feels like.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I mean, like, temperature is really, like, what's heavier? A
- 3:32Speaker 1: ton of bricks or a ton of feathers.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:35Speaker 2: It's maneuvering around that, right? Yeah. And so I'm there.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I'm at a friend's house. She made dinner.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I look out the window, and I see the explanation
- 3:46Speaker 1: for this situation.
- 3:47Speaker 2: This.
- 3:48Speaker 1: great lake was right outside the window oh yeah and
- 3:52Speaker 1: it never dawned on me that oh toronto's on the
- 3:56Speaker 1: lake i got an american sense of geography right yeah
- 4:00Speaker 1: man it reminded me of maybe 10 years before that
- 4:03Speaker 1: or maybe more like six or seven i had gone
- 4:05Speaker 1: to chicago and it was actually new year's eve i
- 4:08Speaker 1: don't know why we went to new york i goes
- 4:10Speaker 1: over to buddy's house in louisville we're like we're not
- 4:12Speaker 1: gonna stay in louisville so it's And we didn't do anything.
- 4:15Speaker 1: But we went outside for a minute, and I had
- 4:17Speaker 1: never seen cold like great hours.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Woo!
- 4:20Speaker 2: My God.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 3: And we got one of those great lakes too, Bo.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Good old Lake Michigan. And the stadium is right there.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Like, at least I understood. Like, I know Chicago has it, right? Right.
- 4:32Speaker 1: But I had not really considered that the lake does
- 4:35Speaker 1: a thing to the air.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Lake effect.
- 4:39Speaker 3: It is a term where it's like, You know, the
- 4:42Speaker 3: local weather people, they'll be like, you know, it's 31
- 4:45Speaker 3: degrees at O'Hare, 28 at Midway. And it feels like
- 4:49Speaker 3: nine on the lakefront. It's like, oh, yeah, that's that
- 4:53Speaker 3: 15 to 20 degree on the lakefront difference. And listen,
- 4:57Speaker 3: I mean, it was it was two pairs of socks,
- 5:00Speaker 3: toe warmers, two pairs of gloves, hand warmers, four layers
- 5:06Speaker 3: and a lot of cocktails.
- 5:11Speaker 1: To watch the bears i wouldn't do all that to
- 5:14Speaker 1: watch one of my kids maybe i feel different if
- 5:16Speaker 1: i had them but i man look like.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Like that's actually the added benefit i got 24 hours
- 5:22Speaker 3: away from my ah there we go there we go
- 5:24Speaker 3: three and five so i told i told the wife
- 5:27Speaker 3: i was like hey hey steph uh 24 hours chicago's
- 5:30Speaker 3: college you got the better end of that deal.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Well i mean that's because you she got you to
- 5:35Speaker 1: go to the pinstripe bowl.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Didn't she Dude, this was a great reversal of fortune.
- 5:40Speaker 3: My wife is soft. She was like, she's like, saw
- 5:44Speaker 3: the forecast that day. And she's like, I don't want
- 5:45Speaker 3: to go to this game.
- 5:46Speaker 2: And I was smart.
- 5:47Speaker 3: I was like, babe, we can go to the pinstripe bowl.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Danny's wife, by the way, inexplicably went to Clemson. That's right.
- 5:53Speaker 2: It's weird story.
- 5:55Speaker 3: But I was like, I, I am not, we will
- 5:58Speaker 3: be able to buy tickets day of the game.
- 6:00Speaker 2: So it's like, we're going to the pinstripe bowl. if
- 6:03Speaker 2: you want to go to the pin oh.
- 6:05Speaker 3: There you go there you go and then day of
- 6:08Speaker 3: it was like 22 degrees clemson stinks she's like you
- 6:12Speaker 3: know what let's not great.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Well hey man let me ask you this um i
- 6:16Speaker 1: feel like the bears game on sunday is kind of
- 6:20Speaker 1: sort of ghost of christmas present versus ghost of christmas
- 6:24Speaker 1: past in the sense that I mean, this is really
- 6:27Speaker 1: funny because I think Sean McVay is barely older than
- 6:30Speaker 1: Ben Johnson, but Ben Johnson is what Sean McVay was. Now,
- 6:33Speaker 1: of course, Sean McVay is now a Super Bowl champion
- 6:36Speaker 1: and all of those things. But this is the hot
- 6:38Speaker 1: shot young brain versus the old hot shot young brain.
- 6:42Speaker 3: That's right. And Sean McVay is like best coaching buddies
- 6:46Speaker 3: with Matt LaFleur, who seems to hate Ben Johnson.
- 6:50Speaker 2: What is this?
- 6:51Speaker 1: Because they hate, like, it seemed that Ben Johnson hates
- 6:54Speaker 1: Matt LaFleur. I'm not sure Matt LaFleur knows what the
- 6:57Speaker 1: explanation is behind this.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. So, I mean, listen, this is red meat
- 7:01Speaker 3: to the base. So, to understand Bears-Packers, it's unlike any
- 7:06Speaker 3: other rivalry because the Packers have no owner, right? They're
- 7:11Speaker 3: owned by the fans. And the bears are owned by
- 7:14Speaker 3: the McCaskey family. Virginia McCaskey just passed away. She was
- 7:19Speaker 3: George house's daughter. So the McCaskey is proudly like George McCaskey. Well,
- 7:24Speaker 3: anytime he steps in front of a microphone, he'll be like,
- 7:27Speaker 3: I don't know much about football. I'm just a fan.
- 7:30Speaker 3: And so it's like owned by a fan and owned
- 7:33Speaker 3: by the fans. And like my old radio station in
- 7:37Speaker 3: Chicago is, People would listen to us in Milwaukee. You
- 7:40Speaker 3: know what I mean? The proximity is so close that
- 7:45Speaker 3: my dad's whole side of the family are from the
- 7:48Speaker 3: south side of Milwaukee and are diehard Packers fans. I
- 7:50Speaker 3: was at the game with my nephew, a Packer fan.
- 7:53Speaker 3: We are married to these people. We work with these people.
- 7:56Speaker 3: It's like a tremendous amount of proximity. And so ever
- 7:59Speaker 3: since George McCaskey became the front man for that family
- 8:03Speaker 3: for ownership, literally every Bears coach at his introductory press conference,
- 8:07Speaker 3: like Lovey Smith, was like, You know, we got a
- 8:09Speaker 3: few orders of business. You got to win the division,
- 8:12Speaker 3: ultimately win the Super Bowl. But first and foremost, you
- 8:15Speaker 3: got to beat the Packers. It is like college. Exactly.
- 8:18Speaker 3: But it's but like so on Monday. So he so,
- 8:21Speaker 3: you know, Ben Johnson says F the Packers. It goes viral.
- 8:24Speaker 3: He does the icy handshake, whatever. And on Monday, the
- 8:28Speaker 3: media is like, you know, do you feel bad for
- 8:30Speaker 3: saying F the Packers? And he's like, no, I don't
- 8:32Speaker 3: like them rivalries. But the thing that the most telling
- 8:35Speaker 3: part about it, he goes. But I talked to George
- 8:38Speaker 3: and we're on the same page. He is playing. He
- 8:41Speaker 3: is echoing what his boss wants him to say. And
- 8:45Speaker 3: it's been a thing for literally every Bears coach since
- 8:47Speaker 3: Lovie Smith.
- 8:49Speaker 2: And is it corny?
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yes, but.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Oh, I don't think it's corny at all. Well, here's
- 8:54Speaker 2: the thing.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Because I don't think that Ben Johnson genuinely hates Matt LaFleur.
- 9:01Speaker 2: See, that's where I'm not sure, right? I hope he does.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I hope he does.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Well, the reason I say that is I get it
- 9:08Speaker 1: on everything you're saying about beating the Packers. But when
- 9:12Speaker 1: he got the job, he immediately took aim at Matt LaFleur.
- 9:18Speaker 3: He said, I enjoy beating Matt LaFleur twice a year.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that was, that was job unnecessary.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And that there's something, or is he the person, is
- 9:27Speaker 1: he the Michael Jordan type of psycho that goes in
- 9:30Speaker 1: the mirror and invents things?
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, I think it was, I think that was
- 9:34Speaker 3: his version of the Lovie Smith thing. And he kind
- 9:37Speaker 3: of like, he just personalized it instead of globalized it.
- 9:41Speaker 3: He put it on Matt LaFleur instead of on the Packers.
- 9:44Speaker 3: But yeah, Ben Johnson, he's crazy. And he's been on
- 9:49Speaker 3: the show multiple times. I'm a huge fan. I want
- 9:53Speaker 3: my football coaches to be crazy. But like he's the
- 9:56Speaker 3: like install every part of the game plan doesn't delegate
- 10:00Speaker 3: any of it to his coaches sleep in the facility
- 10:03Speaker 3: he looks like he's going to age like a president
- 10:05Speaker 3: over over the course of this job like yeah he
- 10:07Speaker 3: he is a special type of crazy and bears if
- 10:11Speaker 3: they're going to win and they're going to need to
- 10:13Speaker 3: win a shootout because Matt Stafford might throw for 600
- 10:15Speaker 3: yards on the Bears defense.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Hey man, counterpoint. Stafford got that finger situation.
- 10:20Speaker 3: And it's going to be cold.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 3: I mean, it's going to be cold.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I mean, the last time that we saw the Rams
- 10:28Speaker 1: in the playoffs in cold, like this cold was that
- 10:31Speaker 1: game against the Eagles last year. Now, of course the
- 10:34Speaker 1: Eagles weren't out there looking like the greatest show on
- 10:36Speaker 1: turf in that cold either. Like it was a debilitating
- 10:39Speaker 1: sort of situation, but Stafford, with a banged up finger.
- 10:44Speaker 2: In that cult. I don't know.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And I will say this, this is where there was
- 10:52Speaker 1: a thing, I guess it was really like 10, 15
- 10:53Speaker 1: years ago, particularly with the proliferation of the internet and
- 10:57Speaker 1: social media. where so many people thought they were so
- 11:00Speaker 1: much smarter than all the draft analysis people, and it'd
- 11:03Speaker 1: be like, oh, they really care so much about stuff
- 11:06Speaker 1: like hand size, right? Now, sometimes they'd weaponize it, like
- 11:10Speaker 1: why you should take Johnny Manziel over Teddy Bridgewater, for example. However,
- 11:15Speaker 1: those things matter particularly well If you are drafting a
- 11:21Speaker 1: quarterback to play in your cold weather environs, right? Josh
- 11:26Speaker 1: Allen is not just Josh Allen. Josh Allen is perfect
- 11:28Speaker 1: for what will be necessary for you to perhaps win
- 11:31Speaker 1: a game playing in Buffalo.
- 11:33Speaker 2: And Caleb Williams is a physically.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Built for cold weather dude.
- 11:38Speaker 1: That dude was making throws in that game on Saturday
- 11:42Speaker 1: that I could not believe.
- 11:44Speaker 3: He is... remarkable by.
- 11:46Speaker 1: The way you were right i i was i was
- 11:48Speaker 1: a skeptic and i just want to go ahead and
- 11:50Speaker 1: give you your you were right they you were right
- 11:52Speaker 1: that the number one pick in the draft would be
- 11:53Speaker 1: good just want to let you know that you know
- 11:56Speaker 1: you still got out you stood out on that limb
- 11:58Speaker 1: thank you Thank you. That was the backhandedest compliment I
- 12:01Speaker 1: ever could have possibly given somebody.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Doesn't matter. I'm going to have Ryan clip, you were right,
- 12:06Speaker 3: from Bomani Jones to me.
- 12:08Speaker 2: It's going to be my.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Text message alert whenever you hit me up, and it's
- 12:11Speaker 3: going to be glorious. You were right. Oh, Bo's hitting
- 12:14Speaker 3: me up. Yeah, listen, I'm not saying that it was
- 12:17Speaker 3: a revolutionary call, but there was a huge faction of
- 12:20Speaker 3: the Bears fan base that wanted to pass on the
- 12:23Speaker 3: draft rights to Caleb Williams to keep rolling it out
- 12:25Speaker 3: there with Justin Fields. So that was a legitimate thing
- 12:30Speaker 3: in Chicago for a while. So I will take the
- 12:34Speaker 3: victory lap, even if it was backhanded from you. He's insane.
- 12:38Speaker 3: He's like 6'3 and every bit of 225. He is
- 12:43Speaker 3: built like a refrigerator, and he's got the best arm
- 12:47Speaker 3: in football. I mean, maybe if it was a fastball
- 12:50Speaker 3: throwing contest, maybe Justin Herbert could dial it up a
- 12:53Speaker 3: little faster. I don't know. But his mobility, strength, size, elusiveness,
- 12:58Speaker 3: it's insane. Everyone knocks him for the completion percentage. And yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 3: he misses some layups. But I'm going to debut this
- 13:06Speaker 3: take with you. Is there any faction of, in the NBA,
- 13:12Speaker 3: you know, to shoot 50% from two? All you got
- 13:15Speaker 3: to do is shoot 33% from three? Right. Dude, Caleb
- 13:19Speaker 3: is a... Big game, Hunter.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Yes.
- 13:22Speaker 3: He does not give a– he will just throw it
- 13:24Speaker 3: down the field. He thinks he can make every throw,
- 13:27Speaker 3: and he can. And so if his completion percentage is lower,
- 13:31Speaker 3: but he doesn't throw interceptions, and it's just a big
- 13:34Speaker 3: play waiting to happen at every moment, man, I'm cool
- 13:37Speaker 3: with it.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Well, that's the thing.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Nickel and dime efficiency is overrated in this game, and
- 13:42Speaker 1: it's something that has– in terms of the way that
- 13:44Speaker 1: we evaluate players and evaluate quarterbacks– I think has been
- 13:48Speaker 1: a problem for a while, right? Because I think you
- 13:51Speaker 1: hit it where it really matters, which is he's not
- 13:55Speaker 1: throwing interceptions.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Right. It's why the comp for me is still Aaron Rodgers.
- 14:02Speaker 3: That is still the comp.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Well, it's hard for Aaron Rodgers to be the comp
- 14:07Speaker 1: and you complete 58% of your passes.
- 14:08Speaker 3: No, I agree.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I agree.
- 14:10Speaker 3: I agree, but like hunts the big game and doesn't
- 14:14Speaker 3: throw picks. Listen, he's year one. He's been in three
- 14:17Speaker 3: different systems in three years, right?
- 14:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Lincoln Riley and whatever the hell it was last year
- 14:21Speaker 3: with Luke Getze. And now, and now this with Ben Johnson,
- 14:25Speaker 3: if he doesn't take an efficiency leap from year two
- 14:29Speaker 3: to year three in the NFL, year one to year
- 14:30Speaker 3: two and Ben Johnson system, then I'll lay down my
- 14:33Speaker 3: sword on the Aaron Rogers comp and say, maybe he's
- 14:35Speaker 3: going to be a low completion percentage guy. for the duration,
- 14:38Speaker 3: but like he cut his sack percentage in half. He
- 14:42Speaker 3: was sacked 68 times this year. This year it was
- 14:43Speaker 3: less than 30. And, you know, he's got the verbiage.
- 14:48Speaker 3: They're not going to delay a game penalties and pre-snap
- 14:50Speaker 3: stuff anymore. Like I think he's going to, he'll work
- 14:52Speaker 3: on it this off season and he's, you know, the
- 14:55Speaker 3: number one pick in the draft was good, Bo. So
- 14:56Speaker 3: I think he'll be able to, I think he'll be
- 14:58Speaker 3: able to hit the layups.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I do think that with him, it's a matter of,
- 15:01Speaker 1: you ain't got to wait till the end of the
- 15:02Speaker 1: game to get good.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Right.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Like it does, it does still feel to a degree like,
- 15:07Speaker 1: playing fully within what my man Big Brain Ben.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Is doing is still difficult.
- 15:12Speaker 1: When it gets late and it's just kind of like,
- 15:15Speaker 1: all right, man, whatever. Now, because that's what he's been
- 15:19Speaker 1: used to doing forever, is playing video game football, right? Like,
- 15:22Speaker 1: I'm going to run around, run around, somebody's going to
- 15:24Speaker 1: get open, and look how hard I can throw the ball, right?
- 15:26Speaker 2: Like, that's going to be it.
- 15:28Speaker 1: So it's going to be interesting to see, especially, you know,
- 15:30Speaker 1: the Rams got a defensive coordinator that's auditioning for jobs, right?
- 15:35Speaker 2: People looked up and was like, Shula, you say? That
- 15:38Speaker 2: sounds familiar. I feel like I want to give that
- 15:40Speaker 2: guy a job. Huh?
- 15:43Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, but the Rams, he's, he's not putting
- 15:45Speaker 3: his best foot forward recently since we, I think it's
- 15:49Speaker 3: like the last, since week 12 or something, they're at,
- 15:51Speaker 3: they're averaging 28 points a game allowed. Like you can,
- 15:54Speaker 3: this is, There's going to be points scored in this game.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Well, let me tell you something interesting about Shula is
- 16:00Speaker 1: that I think, I don't know if we're still in
- 16:02Speaker 1: that window where as long as, what's his name? Sean
- 16:05Speaker 1: McVay had touched the hem of your garment. You could
- 16:07Speaker 1: get a head coaching job when everybody was hiring all
- 16:10Speaker 1: his friends. I heard him, Sean McVay had dinner one time.
- 16:13Speaker 2: That was enough for you to get a job. So
- 16:15Speaker 2: we talking about two dudes.
- 16:16Speaker 1: In this year's cycle that are being discussed like straight McVay.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Guys, right?
- 16:22Speaker 1: One of them is Chris Shula, their defensive coordinator. The
- 16:25Speaker 1: other one is a dude named Nate Sheilhas.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:29Speaker 1: And I remember Nate Sheilhas because he played at, I
- 16:33Speaker 1: want to say, Illinois at quarterback.
- 16:37Speaker 2: And I remember this. when we were really deep in
- 16:40Speaker 2: Rooney Rule discussions a few years ago.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I'm like, how about Sean McVay just hire a bunch
- 16:44Speaker 1: of brothers? And then they all going to get jobs
- 16:46Speaker 1: because all you got to do is know Sean McVay.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And it eventually came to pass for Raheem Morris. He
- 16:52Speaker 1: wound up being able to get a job. But I
- 16:53Speaker 1: was like, come on, McVay, you need to do more
- 16:55Speaker 1: than everybody talking about this Shield House guy. I'm like, oh,
- 16:57Speaker 1: Shield House. And then I looked up a picture and buddy,
- 17:00Speaker 1: I ain't never seen no Shield House that looked like that.
- 17:03Speaker 2: That was a shocker. So McVay out here doing his
- 17:06Speaker 2: part for the people. I see you, big dog.
- 17:08Speaker 3: There you go.
- 17:10Speaker 2: And 35 years old, too. He is. He is. But
- 17:13Speaker 2: he is also Mr. Shiel Haas. Well, he was born.
- 17:16Speaker 2: He grew up in Kansas.
- 17:17Speaker 1: He went to high school in Kansas City. But he's
- 17:18Speaker 1: born in Davenport, Iowa, which is on the list of
- 17:21Speaker 1: places that are a little blacker than you might expect.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Not wall-to-wall black, but that's one of the places where
- 17:29Speaker 1: the black people in Iowa live. Before we get into
- 17:32Speaker 1: the break, I do also want to hit on the
- 17:35Speaker 1: other Sunday game, which is The Texans and the Patriots,
- 17:38Speaker 1: and I don't know about.
- 17:39Speaker 2: You, but I think the Patriots might be in trouble
- 17:41Speaker 2: in this one.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, the Texans defense is just awesome. You know,
- 17:47Speaker 3: I don't know. We're not talking 2,000 Ravens here, but
- 17:50Speaker 3: we're talking like a step below it. You know, best
- 17:53Speaker 3: defense we've seen in the NFL in years. Will Anderson
- 17:57Speaker 3: might be the second best defensive player in football behind
- 18:00Speaker 3: Miles Garrett. He's ridiculous. Their whole secondary is crazy. Obviously,
- 18:05Speaker 3: Daniil Hunter. One of the things we put out there
- 18:08Speaker 3: on the show this week was if the Texans score 20,
- 18:13Speaker 3: they're undefeated. 12-0, scoring 20 or more. Most wins at
- 18:19Speaker 3: that low of a threshold since the Cam Newton Panthers.
- 18:26Speaker 2: But C.J.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Stroud keeps dropping the ball. I just do not... I
- 18:31Speaker 3: don't trust him at all in CJ Stroud's three playoff wins.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Another fun stat for you. This is a, this is
- 18:37Speaker 3: a crazy one. CJ Stroud has three playoff wins in
- 18:40Speaker 3: his three playoff wins. The Texans defense has allowed 32 points.
- 18:46Speaker 3: The Texans defense has scored 32 points.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Wow.
- 18:50Speaker 3: They have five touchdowns and a blocked extra point return
- 18:54Speaker 3: for a two point conversion in his, in.
- 18:56Speaker 2: His three playoff wins.
- 18:57Speaker 3: So like, I have to sit here and say that
- 18:59Speaker 3: CJ Stroud's a great playoff quarterback because he's got a playoff.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Win all three years when his.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Defense has played teams to a draw by themselves.
- 19:08Speaker 2: I refuse. I refuse. Yo, he looked the kind of
- 19:11Speaker 2: bad in.
- 19:14Speaker 1: The game against the Steelers where people don't like criticize
- 19:19Speaker 1: your performance. They ask you questions. They're like, hey man,
- 19:24Speaker 1: are you good? Like, is everything all right at home?
- 19:27Speaker 1: Like it was, it was that kind of bad. Couldn't
- 19:30Speaker 1: catch a snap. Like, and you saw it all over
- 19:32Speaker 1: his face. Like it was in his eyes after these
- 19:35Speaker 1: things that happened. And this is a guy that we
- 19:37Speaker 1: had given credit for being precocious. The guy that we
- 19:39Speaker 1: saw in college who in those big bowl games was balling.
- 19:43Speaker 2: He looks totally lost, or at least he did in
- 19:46Speaker 2: this particular game look totally lost.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Right.
- 19:49Speaker 3: I mean, I remember like changing my whole opinion on
- 19:52Speaker 3: CJ Stroud because of how he played in that game
- 19:54Speaker 3: against Georgia. I was like, oh, I didn't know you
- 19:58Speaker 3: could do that. My apologies. Okay.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Now, now I see what everyone else says.
- 20:02Speaker 3: So like, yeah, I think he looked, he looked shook
- 20:06Speaker 3: and he has not been good in for a long
- 20:10Speaker 3: time like not like that was like that now that
- 20:13Speaker 3: dropping the ball and just like not being able to
- 20:16Speaker 3: do the quarterback center exchange that was an extreme but
- 20:19Speaker 3: in like you look look at the last like 20
- 20:22Speaker 3: games of cj stroud good games are outliers he is
- 20:26Speaker 3: he is yes part of it is the offensive line
- 20:29Speaker 3: he's been hit a lot he had wide receiver injuries
- 20:31Speaker 3: last year but i am i am not at all
- 20:35Speaker 3: sold on C.J. Stroud long-term. I'm not.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yeah, this is interesting because he looked so good as
- 20:42Speaker 1: a rookie, right?
- 20:44Speaker 3: He did, but it was also one of those weird
- 20:47Speaker 3: Dak Prescott rookie seasons where he looked so mature. The
- 20:52Speaker 3: interception number was real low. I think it was five
- 20:54Speaker 3: interceptions his rookie year.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Yes.
- 20:58Speaker 3: But it was only like 21 touchdowns, and I think
- 21:01Speaker 3: five of those touchdowns came in one game. And I
- 21:03Speaker 3: was like, okay. You're clearly smart. You are not making mistakes.
- 21:08Speaker 3: But what is a ceiling with a player like this?
- 21:12Speaker 3: And it hasn't gotten much higher since.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I was going to say, the thing about if
- 21:18Speaker 1: what he had was a Dak Prescott rookie year, if
- 21:20Speaker 1: he turns out to be.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Dak Prescott, you're doing okay. Like, Oh yeah.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Like put Dak Prescott on the Texans and they're probably
- 21:27Speaker 1: the best team in the NFL.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 21:29Speaker 3: But to be clear, like I, I just, I was
- 21:31Speaker 3: wrong about Dak Prescott too. Like Dak for a while
- 21:34Speaker 3: to be his numbers, the first like three or four years,
- 21:37Speaker 3: we're all very similar. We got lower twenties touchdowns, mid
- 21:41Speaker 3: single digit interceptions, game manager tie. And I was like, okay,
- 21:45Speaker 3: like you're, you're a pro you great value for your
- 21:47Speaker 3: draft pick, but with like second overall pick for CJ Stroud,
- 21:51Speaker 3: you know, But yeah, no, I mean, Dak Prescott the
- 21:52Speaker 3: last few years is awesome. If Dak Prescott was on
- 21:56Speaker 3: the Texans, they would be the favorites to win the
- 21:58Speaker 3: Super Bowl.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Now, New England on the other side is interesting because
- 22:01Speaker 1: the reason I'm saying I think the Texans are going
- 22:03Speaker 1: to win this, it's really not about the particulars. It's
- 22:07Speaker 1: about the generality of the fact that monster defense on
- 22:11Speaker 1: one side, second year quarterback, second playoff start on the other.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Who takes a lot of sacks.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, we're asking, we're asking a lot out
- 22:22Speaker 2: of me in this game.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Now maybe he got his bad playoff game out
- 22:27Speaker 3: of the way.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Like, you know what I mean?
- 22:29Speaker 3: Like against the chargers, like maybe it was like, okay,
- 22:32Speaker 3: now he knows now I figured it out and he can,
- 22:35Speaker 3: he's got the mobility obviously in the athleticism to deal
- 22:37Speaker 3: with some of the things that Houston throws at him.
- 22:41Speaker 3: It does still feel to me and it's felt all year.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Like the Patriots are a year ahead. Like, they're a
- 22:47Speaker 3: year early on some stuff, and they need a little
- 22:49Speaker 3: bit more high-end talent around him. But Drake May is
- 22:54Speaker 3: wildly impressive. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Like, I still think right now, Kenna Williams still got
- 22:58Speaker 1: to show me something to show me that for certain
- 23:00Speaker 1: he's going to be better than this guy is.
- 23:03Speaker 2: And by the way, I think that's fair. Super big,
- 23:05Speaker 2: super strong, because it gets super cold over there.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Like it's actually interesting.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Tom Brady and them were so good that we never
- 23:13Speaker 1: really talked about the fact that they were playing. It
- 23:15Speaker 1: ain't quite Lambeau, but it's that sort.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Of home field. It's cold up here, guys.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 23:23Speaker 3: I went to a Chiefs Patriots playoff game and I
- 23:26Speaker 3: was like, man, this thing is in the middle of
- 23:28Speaker 3: goddamn nowhere. And it was very, very cold. But yeah,
- 23:33Speaker 3: I these these games are real interesting because, you know,
- 23:38Speaker 3: you have. Texans' pass rush against MVP candidate quarterback and Broncos'
- 23:44Speaker 3: pass rush against MVP caliber quarterback. Those two AFC games
- 23:48Speaker 3: are very much pass rush and defense against all-world quarterback.
- 23:53Speaker 2: All right, hold that thought. We're going to get to
- 23:54Speaker 2: that after this.

- 26:26Speaker 3: All right.
- 26:28Speaker 1: We are back on the right time with Danny Parkins, FS1,
- 26:31Speaker 1: First Things First.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Josh Allen, America's quarterback.
- 26:37Speaker 1: I'm glad that I've come to like him in a
- 26:39Speaker 1: way that allows me to overcome all these people who
- 26:42Speaker 1: just want to make me hate him.
- 26:44Speaker 2: But I don't. I refuse.
- 26:45Speaker 4: Okay.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:47Speaker 1: This is an interesting one because on one hand, the
- 26:51Speaker 1: Broncos are the number one seed. The Broncos have this
- 26:54Speaker 1: monstrous defense. You got to go deal with them at altitude.
- 26:57Speaker 1: The Buffalo Bills are banged up all of these things, right?
- 27:03Speaker 1: On the other hand, their quarterback is Bo Nix. And
- 27:06Speaker 1: if you, Josh Allen, we, the role, we feel like
- 27:09Speaker 1: you should be Bo Nix, even though quarterbacks don't play
- 27:11Speaker 1: against each other.
- 27:13Speaker 2: That's how it feels, guys. That's how it feels.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's not entirely unfair, just based on how
- 27:20Speaker 3: we've always done things. If you want to say the
- 27:22Speaker 3: whole system is unfair, then okay.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Right, people pick a hell of a time to realize
- 27:26Speaker 2: it if that's what it is.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, exactly. This is how we do it, and
- 27:30Speaker 3: it's not right, and it isn't a one-on-one game, and
- 27:33Speaker 3: Bo Nix isn't on the field when Josh Allen is,
- 27:35Speaker 3: and I understand that, and the Bills' receiver injuries, and
- 27:38Speaker 3: the Bills' run defense, and I know all of those things,
- 27:42Speaker 3: but just on the Broncos' side of it, This is
- 27:47Speaker 3: a real shaky one seed. This is a very shaky
- 27:50Speaker 3: one seed in that all year they have eked out
- 27:56Speaker 3: wins against bad teams when their quarterback has not played well.
- 28:02Speaker 3: You know, I mean, I pulled it up here just
- 28:04Speaker 3: to remember the particulars. 13-11 against the Jets.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Yikes. Next week, 33-32 against the Giants.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Oh, I remember that.
- 28:15Speaker 2: That was a crazy comeback, right?
- 28:17Speaker 3: Right. And to Bo Nix's credit, he was incredible in
- 28:20Speaker 3: the fourth quarter of that game, but down huge to
- 28:24Speaker 3: the Giants. 18-15 against the Texans. We just talked about
- 28:28Speaker 3: their defense.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Okay, fine.
- 28:29Speaker 3: 10-7 against the Raiders. 27-26 against Washington. 24-17 against the Raiders. Like,
- 28:38Speaker 3: it's a lot of one-score field goal games against teams
- 28:44Speaker 3: with top 10 picks. Bo Nix this year was, I believe,
- 28:48Speaker 3: 6-1 in games where he had a passer rating of
- 28:51Speaker 3: under 85. Like, it's just... I don't think that formula
- 28:57Speaker 3: wins you a super bowl. I don't. And so I
- 29:01Speaker 3: do think Josh Allen can go into Denver and get
- 29:03Speaker 3: this done and figure it out and put on the
- 29:05Speaker 3: cape as people.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Have been saying, can Denver hide him, right?
- 29:09Speaker 1: Like I have seen Kyle Shanahan coach teams without throwing
- 29:13Speaker 1: the ball at all in the second half, right? If
- 29:16Speaker 1: you can find a way to get ahead, hold the
- 29:18Speaker 1: lead and hide that guy, if at all possible. Now, again,
- 29:23Speaker 1: the Broncos model has been somewhat.
- 29:25Speaker 2: And maybe this is the case with Bo Nix, somewhat similar.
- 29:27Speaker 1: To the Bears model, which is, okay, maybe you get
- 29:29Speaker 1: behind late and now you just got to let this
- 29:30Speaker 1: guy say YOLO and not have to think about this
- 29:33Speaker 1: stuff so much and that's ready to get it done.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I don't think that could work for the Broncos in
- 29:38Speaker 2: the playoffs.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Like historically you would think, you would think that it doesn't.
- 29:42Speaker 3: And so, and like, I want to try to be
- 29:44Speaker 3: kind of fair. Like Bo Nix had, let me see.
- 29:49Speaker 2: What was the great game?
- 29:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:50Speaker 3: The game against the Packers. That was a very good game.
- 29:54Speaker 3: But it was also, it coincided with the Micah injury
- 29:57Speaker 3: and the Packers defense beginning to fall apart. And so
- 30:00Speaker 3: Broncos fans will get defensive and they'll be like, no,
- 30:03Speaker 3: he's a great fourth quarter quarterback. And like my guy,
- 30:05Speaker 3: Caleb is too, but I'm sorry when I watched the
- 30:08Speaker 3: two of them, I don't think that that is like that.
- 30:10Speaker 3: You have to look a little bit beyond the numbers here.
- 30:13Speaker 3: And I don't think that that's what Bo Nix is
- 30:15Speaker 3: in terms of trustworthy or not. So if Bo Nix
- 30:18Speaker 3: comes out at home and puts on a show against
- 30:21Speaker 3: Josh Allen, you can change that narrative. But until then,
- 30:24Speaker 3: I think they are one and done.
- 30:26Speaker 2: I personally would love to have a great third quarter. Quarterback.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Everybody talks about the fourth quarter quarterbacks.
- 30:34Speaker 1: No, give me a quarterback that's like Steph Curry was.
- 30:38Speaker 1: You remember when the Warriors were the illest thing in
- 30:40Speaker 1: the world in the third quarter? Like you might think
- 30:43Speaker 1: it was a thing at halftime and then they beat
- 30:46Speaker 1: the brakes off of you in the third quarter. And
- 30:48Speaker 1: in the fourth quarter, he's over that motherfucker playing Tetris
- 30:52Speaker 1: or whatever.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Whatever he got on the phone. Now give
- 30:55Speaker 2: me a great third quarter quarterback.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I want a quarterback who in the fourth quarter does
- 31:00Speaker 1: the nicest handoffs you have ever seen.
- 31:03Speaker 2: That's the situation that I want.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Listen, I'm with you. And Denver then can, their pass rush,
- 31:10Speaker 3: tee off and play with a lead and do that
- 31:12Speaker 3: whole Peyton Manning play from ahead thing. So yeah, Denver
- 31:16Speaker 3: is interesting because that place will be rocking. They got
- 31:20Speaker 3: to play at altitude. They are rested. They are healthier.
- 31:23Speaker 3: There's a lot of like old school football things that
- 31:27Speaker 3: are very much in their favor. I tell you this boy,
- 31:30Speaker 3: Josh Allen's on the other side.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I was about to say, man, that's, that's, he's reached
- 31:35Speaker 1: that place where it's just kind of like, okay, you
- 31:39Speaker 1: got all these things. And this is so interesting because
- 31:41Speaker 1: this is about a dude that has never been out
- 31:47Speaker 1: of the AFC side of the bracket.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 31:48Speaker 1: And I don't want to say that like he's never
- 31:50Speaker 1: done anything like a phrase I avoid using is the
- 31:53Speaker 1: never won anything because the anything really is only one thing, right?
- 31:57Speaker 1: Like just like, you know, Put it a little differently
- 31:59Speaker 1: if that's the point that you're ultimately going to make. However,
- 32:03Speaker 1: he has looked like he can overcome whatever the thing is,
- 32:07Speaker 1: whatever the.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Thing may be. You know, he's still a bit hit
- 32:09Speaker 2: or miss.
- 32:10Speaker 1: He's still going to give you a couple of chances if,
- 32:13Speaker 1: this is important, if, if you can hold on to
- 32:16Speaker 1: them hot potatoes that he's out there throwing, which apparently
- 32:19Speaker 1: is more difficult than it seems.
- 32:21Speaker 3: That's right. And he is... He has been, like, there
- 32:25Speaker 3: have been moments where at the end of games he
- 32:28Speaker 3: has not driven down the field and ultimately won them
- 32:31Speaker 3: the game. And then that, you know, that's how we
- 32:33Speaker 3: ultimately remember this stuff.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Fine.
- 32:36Speaker 3: But he doesn't have a lot of clunkers on his
- 32:38Speaker 3: playoff resume.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Not since 2019. Well, that's a long time.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:44Speaker 2: The game against, but that was.
- 32:46Speaker 1: That game against the Texans was legendarily bad.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's 2026.
- 32:52Speaker 2: I know.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Me and Dominique still struggle to forget about that time
- 32:57Speaker 1: he threw the ball to that square body on the
- 33:00Speaker 1: sideline down the field. But you're right. He has not
- 33:04Speaker 1: put up the clunker.
- 33:06Speaker 3: And I'm sorry to cut you off. We did this
- 33:09Speaker 3: on the show this week, too. Three or more touchdowns,
- 33:14Speaker 3: zero interceptions in a playoff game. Brady has the most
- 33:17Speaker 3: ever with eight. Mahomes, second most ever with six. Tied
- 33:22Speaker 3: with Josh Allen. Yeah.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Now, how many of those with Josh Allen were in
- 33:25Speaker 1: the invitational game? The one where you play against the
- 33:29Speaker 1: seventh seed. Team that shouldn't even have been in the playoffs.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Yeah, he definitely beats.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Up on some bums in the 2-7. No doubt. And,
- 33:38Speaker 3: you know, he obviously has the 13-second game where he
- 33:40Speaker 3: plays incredible.
- 33:41Speaker 2: We have to stop doing that. We have to stop
- 33:43Speaker 2: doing that. I'll never do it. That game they lost.
- 33:46Speaker 1: He gets more credit for the 13 second game than.
- 33:50Speaker 2: The guy who did the 13 second thing.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know that he gets more credit than
- 33:54Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Nobody talks about the 13 second game in the context
- 33:59Speaker 1: of the guy that marched down the field in 13 seconds.
- 34:01Speaker 2: It's always in the.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Context of what, how Josh Allen was done wrong by
- 34:05Speaker 1: the fact that they didn't get to touch the ball.
- 34:07Speaker 1: They had it and it was 13 seconds.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Right. But it also gets talked about in like, Josh
- 34:12Speaker 3: Allen can't beat Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Oh, see, it's interesting.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I feel like given the fact that the NFL changed
- 34:19Speaker 1: the overtime rules after that because it was so sad
- 34:22Speaker 1: that Josh didn't get to have the ball, that it
- 34:24Speaker 1: was much more that it was a grave injustice done
- 34:27Speaker 1: to him by his defense and by the NFL.
- 34:31Speaker 3: I don't care about the NFL part of it because
- 34:33Speaker 3: I don't think overtime is meant to be fair, but yeah.
- 34:36Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Like I, I, I, I got no problem with that. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 34:41Speaker 2: I have no problem with that, but he is clearly
- 34:44Speaker 2: good enough to do it.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:47Speaker 2: I think that's fair. Yeah. He's good.
- 34:48Speaker 3: He's good enough to do it. And so he's the,
- 34:51Speaker 3: he's the best player left in the playoffs at the
- 34:55Speaker 3: most important position with more experience now than anyone else
- 35:00Speaker 3: in these, AFC playoffs. So, yeah, I think he's going
- 35:03Speaker 3: to be just fine.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:05Speaker 1: You know, it's so interesting that you refer to him
- 35:07Speaker 1: as the best player because I think that's probably correct.
- 35:10Speaker 1: It's also interesting that Matthew Stafford is probably going to
- 35:14Speaker 1: win the MVP this year. I saw a quote floating
- 35:18Speaker 1: around with somebody saying that Matthew Stafford will go down
- 35:23Speaker 1: as one of the five or the 10 greatest quarterbacks
- 35:26Speaker 1: of all time.
- 35:27Speaker 2: It was one of the two. And both of those
- 35:29Speaker 2: statements are insane.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Insane it is people ain't nobody ever held out hope
- 35:35Speaker 1: here's all he is and i say this i think
- 35:37Speaker 1: this is 100 correct stafford is the least scrutinized number
- 35:42Speaker 1: one overall pick at quarterback of all time he has
- 35:46Speaker 1: never interesting he has never been on the clock it
- 35:49Speaker 1: has never been treated as so what are you going
- 35:51Speaker 1: to do he has gotten the oh it's detroit excuse
- 35:54Speaker 1: yeah all the way through i mean too bad you
- 35:56Speaker 1: had to play with calvin johnson right buddy um cam
- 35:59Speaker 1: newton was the number one pick two years after him
- 36:01Speaker 1: and lived a much different life of scrutiny than matthew
- 36:04Speaker 1: stafford ever did he also has this weird art where
- 36:07Speaker 1: he got a little bit better got a little bit
- 36:09Speaker 1: better got a little bit better got a little bit
- 36:10Speaker 1: better and got to here he's still going to give
- 36:12Speaker 1: you a he's the cop i have for him is
- 36:15Speaker 1: carson palmer um and he's still every now and then
- 36:18Speaker 1: gonna give you a chance to win the game because
- 36:19Speaker 1: you know you get out there he'd do all them
- 36:21Speaker 1: trick shots like mahomes and all that stuff right he's
- 36:24Speaker 1: got all that there.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Um But none of us think he's better than Josh Allen.
- 36:31Speaker 3: I think the Josh Allen thing is a couple. It's
- 36:34Speaker 3: the running, like the physical gift of the size speed
- 36:37Speaker 3: combination is remarkable. And Puka Nakua is first team all
- 36:43Speaker 3: pro and Devontae Adams is going to wear a gold jacket.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:46Speaker 3: So, and McVay, right?
- 36:48Speaker 2: That's fair.
- 36:49Speaker 3: And McVay genius.
- 36:50Speaker 1: And if there's anything that Matthew Stafford learned in Detroit
- 36:52Speaker 1: with Calvin Johnson is sometimes you just throw the ball
- 36:55Speaker 1: to the same guy over.
- 36:55Speaker 2: And over again.
- 36:57Speaker 3: Right.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Like, oh, we got one of those? Oh, he's helping
- 36:59Speaker 2: a lot?
- 37:00Speaker 1: Okay, we're going to throw him the ball over and
- 37:04Speaker 1: over and over again.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Right, because the Bills thing, I don't think it's like
- 37:08Speaker 3: Josh Allen doing it by himself. He has a very
- 37:10Speaker 3: good offensive line. James Cook is an excellent running back.
- 37:14Speaker 3: But compared to... arguably best offensive mind and football head
- 37:18Speaker 3: coach with arguably best wide receiver duo in the NFL.
- 37:22Speaker 3: It's different. And as an, I'm not going to make
- 37:24Speaker 3: a Matt Stafford top 10 all time argument. And so
- 37:27Speaker 3: these are two huge ifs that I'm about to say,
- 37:29Speaker 3: but if he wins that MVP and if he wins
- 37:33Speaker 3: a second Superbowl, I don't think there are 10 quarterbacks
- 37:37Speaker 3: with two Superbowls and an MVP. I think it's like
- 37:40Speaker 3: eight or nine.
- 37:41Speaker 2: They're not. And that is a, correlative argument that I
- 37:45Speaker 2: think makes sense.
- 37:46Speaker 3: I'm not making it.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I understand exactly what you're saying. And that would be
- 37:51Speaker 1: a very interesting quirk that worked out fairly well.
- 37:55Speaker 2: I think he's so talented.
- 37:58Speaker 1: But in actual performance and result, he, as of right now,
- 38:04Speaker 1: is one insane comeback in the.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Super Bowl away from being Matt Ryan.
- 38:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I mean, except Matt Ryan's, for whatever it's worth, been
- 38:15Speaker 1: to a whole lot more Pro Bowls. And quarterback, better teams.
- 38:19Speaker 1: And while you can make the argument about Matthew Stafford,
- 38:22Speaker 1: it was Detroit.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Buddy, those were the Falcons. Just don't know.
- 38:28Speaker 1: But it's just, I'm trying to be careful with Stafford
- 38:30Speaker 1: because it's not that I don't like Stafford. It's I
- 38:32Speaker 1: don't like people. And they annoy me when it comes
- 38:36Speaker 1: to Stafford. I want to get to one more game
- 38:38Speaker 1: before we get to Harbaugh, just right fast. And I
- 38:40Speaker 1: don't think this will take very long, but We just
- 38:42Speaker 1: saw Seahawks and 49ers a couple of weeks ago in
- 38:44Speaker 1: San Francisco.
- 38:45Speaker 2: I feel like it's going to be the same. They're
- 38:47Speaker 2: just going to be wearing different jerseys.
- 38:50Speaker 3: You have San Francisco winning the game? Oh, no, I
- 38:52Speaker 3: have Seattle winning the game. Oh, you mean, oh, they
- 38:55Speaker 3: were wearing weird jerseys that night.
- 38:57Speaker 2: It's just going to be different.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Seattle's going to be wearing their dark-colored jerseys this time,
- 39:00Speaker 1: and they're going to beat San Francisco.
- 39:02Speaker 2: I mean, San Francisco ain't got no people left, man.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Okay, okay, yeah, then we are 100% aligned. That game
- 39:08Speaker 3: in Week 18 is one of my favorite games of
- 39:10Speaker 3: the year in the NFL. Like, it was jump-off-the-screen physical,
- 39:17Speaker 3: and it was, you know, It was the worst offensive
- 39:20Speaker 3: game that the Niners have had since Kyle Shanahan's been
- 39:24Speaker 3: there in 2017. like it was three points 174 yards
- 39:30Speaker 3: McCaffrey's worst game since he joined Shanahan so just across
- 39:34Speaker 3: the board a dominating performance and then since then Seattle's
- 39:39Speaker 3: been kicking their feet up And the Niners had to
- 39:41Speaker 3: play a playoff game and lost George Kittle. And now
- 39:44Speaker 3: the game's in Seattle. So unless Sam Darnold has a
- 39:47Speaker 3: meltdown game, which I don't think.
- 39:49Speaker 2: By the way, on the board, that's the only thing. Yeah,
- 39:53Speaker 2: on the board.
- 39:55Speaker 1: For the San Francisco 49ers to win this game, the
- 39:58Speaker 1: MVP is going to have to be solid.
- 40:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:02Speaker 3: Or Sam Darnold doing DJ Stroud.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Same Darnold.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Same Darnold. Same Darnold. He got better. He didn't change.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Right.
- 40:11Speaker 3: And when you watch, like sometimes you look at the
- 40:13Speaker 3: numbers and it says one thing, but when you watch
- 40:15Speaker 3: the games, you're like, oh, like if he makes a mistake,
- 40:18Speaker 3: they will all start calling a lot of wide receiver screens.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Like a lot of like one route, you either throw
- 40:25Speaker 3: it here or you throw it away. Like they don't
- 40:29Speaker 3: fully trust him.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Yes.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Which is, totally understandable uh because he definitely still sometimes
- 40:36Speaker 3: makes horrible mistakes but they're just really good they're really
- 40:39Speaker 3: really good yeah really good coach.
- 40:41Speaker 1: Yeah Dominic makes the point that in watching the film
- 40:45Speaker 1: it is abundantly clear to him that the Eagles do
- 40:47Speaker 1: not trust their quarterback and that the Seahawks do not
- 40:52Speaker 1: trust theirs.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Yeah well the Eagle situation is just messier it's hilarious
- 41:00Speaker 3: it's so much fun to not be involved just watching
- 41:03Speaker 3: the entire ecosystem of the eagles.
- 41:06Speaker 1: And everything around the media ecosystem the whole nine.
- 41:09Speaker 3: Yeah big dom aj brown there is big dom 200
- 41:15Speaker 3: million dollars and just like the complicated thing of like
- 41:19Speaker 3: we can still criticize sam dartle no problem A little
- 41:23Speaker 3: tougher in Philly for them to criticize the Super Bowl MVP.
- 41:27Speaker 1: The guy that's been great in two Super Bowls.
- 41:31Speaker 2: It twists them into nuts. No, he's not bad. He's
- 41:34Speaker 2: not bad. He's seen the Super Bowl. I'm like, yeah,
- 41:36Speaker 2: but I've seen every other game too. Yeah, but they
- 41:38Speaker 2: got nothing to gain from thinking he's bad. No, of course.
- 41:41Speaker 2: They have nothing to gain, right? He gets treated like
- 41:43Speaker 2: a draft pick.
- 41:45Speaker 1: There's nothing to gain from saying your draft pick isn't
- 41:48Speaker 1: going to be good.
- 41:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Might as well lean in.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Yeah, and they are committed. They have walked down the aisle,
- 41:58Speaker 3: signed the prenup. No prenup. They are locked in.
- 42:03Speaker 2: They're in.
- 42:03Speaker 1: And the other thing is, for all the criticisms we
- 42:05Speaker 1: have of him, go get somebody better.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Right, it's hard. Go find them. It ain't that easy.
- 42:11Speaker 2: It ain't that easy.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Now, John Harbaugh, speaking of going down the aisle, is
- 42:18Speaker 1: now the head coach of the New York Giants.
- 42:20Speaker 2: This feels very look-the-part, right?
- 42:22Speaker 1: Like, John Harbaugh seemed absolutely like the sort of guy
- 42:24Speaker 1: the Giants would want to hire. They rolled up to
- 42:27Speaker 1: his crib with all the people. And the stuff that's
- 42:31Speaker 1: leaking out about this is hilarious in, like, listen to
- 42:36Speaker 1: this call.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Dan Rossini tweeted this, okay?
- 42:39Speaker 1: The Giants had John Mara, Steve Tisch, Chris Mara, Joe Shane,
- 42:44Speaker 1: Tim McDonald, and Brandon Brown with John Harbaugh.
- 42:48Speaker 2: I know who, like, three of those people are.
- 42:50Speaker 1: One source familiar with the meeting noted Harbaugh's level of
- 42:53Speaker 1: engagement saying, quote, he never looked at his phone.
- 42:57Speaker 2: He was locked in. It's a goddamn job interview. Are
- 43:04Speaker 2: you serious?
- 43:06Speaker 1: And that's an old man, by the way. Like if
- 43:08Speaker 1: you wanted to use that standard for a teenager, maybe.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Correct.
- 43:13Speaker 3: Correct. Like I'm addicted to my phone. That man is
- 43:16Speaker 3: 62 years old. 63, 63 years old. Like, I hope
- 43:23Speaker 3: he's not as addicted to my phone as, as his
- 43:25Speaker 3: phone is. Jackson dart might, might be like, yeah, that
- 43:30Speaker 3: is a, that is a low bar to clear for,
- 43:34Speaker 3: for John Harbaugh, but congratulations. He cleared it.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:37Speaker 1: This whole thing with him is reminding me of a line.
- 43:41Speaker 1: I can't remember where I read this, but it was
- 43:43Speaker 1: about war. And it says that generals are, are always
- 43:49Speaker 1: fighting the last war, right?
- 43:52Speaker 2: So like, for example. I like that.
- 43:54Speaker 1: At the airport, we go through all the rigmarole that
- 43:59Speaker 1: we go through. And by the way, I'm okay with it.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I'm not saying stop, but it is to prevent something.
- 44:06Speaker 1: It's the last war. Like, I don't think the next
- 44:08Speaker 1: frontier of this is at the airport, right? But we
- 44:12Speaker 1: got to fight that war though. Like, keep on doing it,
- 44:14Speaker 1: but we're fighting the last war, okay?
- 44:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:17Speaker 1: I think there's something somewhat analogous to hiring the 64-year-old
- 44:21Speaker 1: head coach under these circumstances. I don't have a great
- 44:26Speaker 1: answer for you for why exactly it did not work
- 44:28Speaker 1: in the end in Baltimore. However, this was an outfit
- 44:32Speaker 1: that blew a lot of games, right? They did a
- 44:35Speaker 1: lot of things that if their coach had been a
- 44:36Speaker 1: different person, they might have been trying to get out
- 44:38Speaker 1: of there a little bit sooner. It's very similar to
- 44:41Speaker 1: what I said about Tomlin. Tomlin got to quit. Anybody
- 44:44Speaker 1: else would have got fired. after that last loss they had.
- 44:47Speaker 1: The Giants are not.
- 44:48Speaker 2: This doesn't feel like Andy Reid, right?
- 44:50Speaker 1: Because Andy Reid, at least you could argue, was like
- 44:52Speaker 1: this offensive visionary who was at the point of basically
- 44:55Speaker 1: retooling what it was that he had done, like a
- 44:57Speaker 1: comedian redoing his act. Came up with this new offense
- 45:00Speaker 1: that was much more like a college offense. that worked
- 45:02Speaker 1: with Alex Smith and Patrick Mahomes. And by the way,
- 45:05Speaker 1: we're about to start have to ask some questions about
- 45:07Speaker 1: Andy Reid's old ass now, you know, as.
- 45:09Speaker 2: We go into the future.
- 45:10Speaker 1: But the excitement about getting John Harbaugh feels a little
- 45:15Speaker 1: misplaced to me.
- 45:16Speaker 2: I think he's been a very good coach.
- 45:18Speaker 1: I don't know if that means he will be a
- 45:20Speaker 1: very good coach.
- 45:22Speaker 2: I completely agree with you.
- 45:24Speaker 3: And you don't want to be ageist, but there is like,
- 45:29Speaker 3: it's a young man's game.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:30Speaker 3: We were talking, you know, like Ben Johnson. Ben Johnson
- 45:36Speaker 3: is a crazy person. And he is sleeping at the
- 45:37Speaker 3: facility sometimes and grinding long hours and doing all these
- 45:41Speaker 3: things and joking about, like, when was Christmas? Like, I
- 45:45Speaker 3: don't know if that's what John Harbaugh is still doing.
- 45:47Speaker 3: And that's not to say that maybe he needs to and, like,
- 45:49Speaker 3: works smarter, not harder and all that. But I think it's, like,
- 45:53Speaker 3: so many coaches get hired and then you find out, oh,
- 45:57Speaker 3: you can't do the job.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 3: You got– you were, you were where you were as
- 46:03Speaker 3: a coordinator, but you can't handle the pressure. You can't
- 46:06Speaker 3: handle the media. You can't handle the game day situations,
- 46:09Speaker 3: whatever the case may be. John Harbaugh can do the job.
- 46:13Speaker 3: So you're not, you think you're not going to be
- 46:14Speaker 3: embarrassed by it, but what just happened with Pete Carroll?
- 46:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:19Speaker 3: You know, like, like I, and I hated the Pete
- 46:21Speaker 3: Carroll hire at the time. And I remember going back
- 46:23Speaker 3: and forth with Colin about it. And it was like,
- 46:25Speaker 3: he's like, Pete Carroll's a great coach. I'm like, I
- 46:27Speaker 3: don't know that I'd hire a guy that old to
- 46:30Speaker 3: try to relate to a 23-year-old. It strikes me as
- 46:35Speaker 3: a risky thing to do. Can John Harbaugh coach? Will
- 46:39Speaker 3: he embarrass you? Of course not. But is it the
- 46:44Speaker 3: best possible thing to maximize? If you really believe in
- 46:48Speaker 3: Jackson Dart and you have Jackson Dart and Malik Nabors
- 46:51Speaker 3: on rookie contracts, Is it the best possible thing to
- 46:55Speaker 3: maximize the most valuable time of Jackson Dart's contract?
- 46:58Speaker 2: I have a very hard time believing that it is.
- 47:00Speaker 1: So I think the question about Dart comes down to
- 47:05Speaker 1: how you feel about Malkin, right? Because, hey, he's the
- 47:10Speaker 1: guy that coordinated the offense where Jameis Winston threw for
- 47:15Speaker 1: 5,000 yards. Lamar Jackson, two-time first-team All-Pro. With him and
- 47:22Speaker 1: some unreal numbers. Now, Jackson Dart is not Lamar Jackson.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Let's be clear about that.
- 47:31Speaker 1: But if you think that he's a good guy to
- 47:33Speaker 1: work with quarterbacks and there's a fair point to have there,
- 47:36Speaker 1: then maybe Harbaugh is the guy because he's also the guy.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Mock is not going to be anybody's head coach. So
- 47:41Speaker 1: this could be your steady option as offensive.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Coordinator, perhaps.
- 47:45Speaker 1: My overall question about the Giants really is how good
- 47:49Speaker 1: is this roster? Because one thing that John Harbaugh has
- 47:52Speaker 1: never really had to do is try to do more
- 47:54Speaker 1: with less. That's just never been the situation that he's had.
- 47:57Speaker 1: I know the giants have all those guys that can
- 48:00Speaker 1: rush the passer, but I feel like this is a
- 48:02Speaker 1: do more with less situation.
- 48:03Speaker 2: If it's going, if they're going to get this done.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:06Speaker 3: Well, but like, let's think about that though. Like if
- 48:09Speaker 3: you have Thibodeau Burns and Carter, who can all rush
- 48:14Speaker 3: the passer at an elite level.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Well, we'll see about Carter. Yeah. At the, at the, yes.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Fair enough.
- 48:21Speaker 3: But at the, at the end it looked better.
- 48:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:23Speaker 3: Um, Malik neighbors when he played was a stud. Like
- 48:28Speaker 3: he looked like he, he looked like, I was like, okay,
- 48:31Speaker 3: well he's awesome. Like, you know, there's some like head
- 48:34Speaker 3: on straight, whatever Malik neighbors looks right.
- 48:36Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 48:37Speaker 1: His head seems to be all perfectly straight. He looked,
- 48:40Speaker 1: he looked around and was like, what is this bum shit?
- 48:42Speaker 1: Y'all got me stuck.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 48:45Speaker 1: He seemed like the new AJ Brown.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Like, like y'all see this, right? All right. Okay.
- 48:52Speaker 3: Then. So, If you've got a stud receiver and stud
- 48:56Speaker 3: pass rushers, I just have doubts about Jackson Dart. Jackson
- 49:01Speaker 3: Dart's like, I've been playing football this way my whole life. Well, congratulations.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Now you're in the NFL.
- 49:07Speaker 3: You can't just be getting concussions and then coming back
- 49:09Speaker 3: from your concussions and playing the same way and lowering
- 49:12Speaker 3: your head into 250-pound linebackers who run a 4-4.
- 49:16Speaker 2: It's going to happen again.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Hey, how about I got doubts about him even if
- 49:20Speaker 1: he doesn't do that like i have i have not
- 49:24Speaker 1: been nearly as impressed with him as i think there's
- 49:30Speaker 1: a desire again what's the point of dogging out your
- 49:33Speaker 1: new guy right they got this thing going where they
- 49:36Speaker 1: had him and he was handing the ball.
- 49:39Speaker 2: To a white dude, you know how excited they get, man.
- 49:41Speaker 2: You live up here. You've seen it.
- 49:43Speaker 1: You've heard it around the office with the cats that
- 49:45Speaker 1: run the cameras. You know what I'm saying?
- 49:47Speaker 2: Yeah, they love that, right?
- 49:48Speaker 1: But there's... The idea that I see Jackson Dart and
- 49:54Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I think we, this is definitely, no, no.
- 49:57Speaker 1: This isn't if you took a job that had Drake May.
- 50:00Speaker 1: This isn't if you took a job that had Caleb
- 50:02Speaker 1: Williams or Jaden Daniels. Like, I don't think that he's
- 50:05Speaker 1: a player of this caliber. Like there's a, we saw
- 50:09Speaker 1: CJ Stroud.
- 50:09Speaker 2: How about this?
- 50:10Speaker 1: We saw CJ Stroud look excellent. And now we're out
- 50:12Speaker 1: here asking the questions about him that we're asking. And
- 50:15Speaker 1: I would be much more sold on CJ Stroud from
- 50:18Speaker 1: what I saw of him than I am of Jackson Dart.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I agree completely.
- 50:22Speaker 3: I mean, easier to move on, I guess, from Jackson
- 50:26Speaker 3: Dart if you get there and realize he's not the
- 50:28Speaker 3: guy because it's a late first-round pick. It's going to
- 50:32Speaker 3: be harder to move on from Cam Ward. Whoever gets
- 50:34Speaker 3: the Titans job, you're probably invested in Cam Ward for
- 50:37Speaker 3: two full seasons. You probably don't have to be as
- 50:40Speaker 3: invested in Jackson Dart for that long if you're Harbaugh. Also, again, Harbaugh,
- 50:45Speaker 3: 63 years old, you don't want to sit out a year.
- 50:48Speaker 3: So it's like, okay, they got deep pockets. He probably
- 50:51Speaker 3: got $ 15 million a year or more. Maybe the numbers
- 50:53Speaker 3: have come out. I apologize if it hasn't.
- 50:55Speaker 2: I missed it.
- 50:56Speaker 3: But got a ton of money, cashed in, live in
- 50:59Speaker 3: New York City, winnable division, I guess. Like Philly dysfunction,
- 51:04Speaker 3: Dallas dysfunction, Washington, we'll see. Like winnable division, New York City,
- 51:09Speaker 3: a ton of money, a decent amount of talent, and
- 51:12Speaker 3: you roll the dice on Jackson Dart and your guy
- 51:14Speaker 3: Todd Munkin. The best job available is the job you
- 51:17Speaker 3: just left, right, in Baltimore. So of the other eight
- 51:21Speaker 3: jobs that are open, is there a job better than
- 51:24Speaker 3: the Giants job if you're taking one this cycle?
- 51:26Speaker 2: I would say no.
- 51:29Speaker 1: I would argue the Steelers job is the best job
- 51:31Speaker 1: just because you're going to get the time. Like as
- 51:34Speaker 1: a job, you've gotten the time. Is it the best team?
- 51:37Speaker 1: Is it the best present day situation? That's a different question,
- 51:42Speaker 1: but the best job, the one where I bet you're
- 51:44Speaker 1: going to get six or seven years, right? I don't
- 51:47Speaker 1: know how bad you got to do to not get
- 51:48Speaker 1: those six or seven years. Right.
- 51:50Speaker 2: We've never seen it.
- 51:53Speaker 3: They're probably that job also probably was not available. To
- 51:56Speaker 3: John Harbaugh, given the Raven Steelers dynamic.
- 52:00Speaker 2: No, no, no. But you had the right point.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Like, Woody Page once told a joke that after he
- 52:06Speaker 1: got divorced, he said he was going to marry the
- 52:08Speaker 1: richest woman that he could find.
- 52:10Speaker 2: And so he married his ex-wife.
- 52:13Speaker 1: You know, like, you know, like sometimes that's the way
- 52:17Speaker 1: it plays out. By the way, how bad must that
- 52:19Speaker 1: situation in Tennessee be? Because I think Cam Ward should
- 52:22Speaker 1: excite you like that should be. Oh, well, we got
- 52:24Speaker 1: this part straight.
- 52:25Speaker 2: And I don't hear anybody talking about wanting to take
- 52:27Speaker 2: that job.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Listen, if you're right about Cam Ward and you've got
- 52:31Speaker 3: a great quarterback talent in a winnable division with a
- 52:35Speaker 3: top five pick and good cap space, then yeah, it
- 52:38Speaker 3: should be a great job.
- 52:41Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 52:42Speaker 3: I don't know. Cam Cam Ward's best highlights felt.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Unsustainable.
- 52:50Speaker 3: And there is just no talent there.
- 52:52Speaker 2: That's the thing. That's what I'm saying is the subtotal situation.
- 52:56Speaker 2: They're like, you've got Tony Pollard.
- 53:01Speaker 1: What?
- 53:02Speaker 3: I don't want Tony Pollard.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Quote of the year. If we keep it at a buck,
- 53:07Speaker 2: we ass.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Like, like, like that's that.
- 53:14Speaker 1: And he's the, he's the young guy who's walking in
- 53:16Speaker 1: just like, bro, what are we doing?
- 53:19Speaker 3: No, which is my, probably my favorite part of his
- 53:21Speaker 3: rookie year, which is like, okay, at least, at least
- 53:24Speaker 3: he's smart enough to know it. And he clearly is
- 53:27Speaker 3: very gifted physically, but sometimes you're just, there's so little
- 53:32Speaker 3: around you that it's hopeless, right? You know, so like
- 53:37Speaker 3: Joe Burrow gets Jamar Chase and he gets all these things.
- 53:40Speaker 3: It's like, oh, OK. All of a sudden it went
- 53:41Speaker 3: from hopeless to you're in a great spot. I don't
- 53:45Speaker 3: see a path forward right there in Tennessee.
- 53:47Speaker 1: By the way, as we were talking about Scatterboo, somebody
- 53:49Speaker 1: sent me a text that is Jameis on New Heights
- 53:53Speaker 1: talking about Scatterboo. And I can't wait to end this
- 53:57Speaker 1: show and go listen to what that is. I can
- 53:59Speaker 1: I can only imagine what. And honestly, it may be
- 54:04Speaker 1: the sort of thing that if a white person said
- 54:06Speaker 1: it would get them fired. It's totally on the board.
- 54:10Speaker 1: Todo es posible when Jameis is on the mic.
- 54:14Speaker 3: I saw a Jameis clip that said he abstained from
- 54:19Speaker 3: sex during his contract year. I'm like, I don't remember
- 54:23Speaker 3: the $ 200 million contract that you signed. What? So I
- 54:28Speaker 3: don't know if you're bragging, but talking about your all-time backfires.
- 54:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 54:32Speaker 1: That feels like the moral of the story was it
- 54:35Speaker 1: ain't worth it.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Right? Cool.
- 54:39Speaker 3: Oh, goodness.
- 54:41Speaker 1: I was going to say take the bird in the hand,
- 54:44Speaker 1: and that's a phrase that I often use without bringing
- 54:47Speaker 1: on the second part, but the second part will have
- 54:49Speaker 1: a whole different sort of resonance given the discussion that
- 54:52Speaker 1: we're having.
- 54:53Speaker 2: You know what?
- 54:53Speaker 1: Danny Park is mad. Check that boy out over there.
- 54:56Speaker 1: at First Things First on FS1. My man, I appreciate you.
- 55:01Speaker 3: Bo, as always, a good time, man.
