Latest / The Paul Barron Crypto Show / Meta Launching Stablecoin🚨Sui Inevitable!🔥Evan Cheng INTERVIEW
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Today let's dive into something that's really brewing in the market.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Of course, you've heard the news Facebook is launching a
- 0:06Speaker 1: new stable coin, and today we're going to break that
- 0:08Speaker 1: down for you. It's going to be a good one. Swee.
- 0:10Speaker 1: And the team behind it actually came over from building
- 0:14Speaker 1: on much of the stable coin strategy that Facebook once had,
- 0:19Speaker 1: so they've seen it. They've seen this before, so I
- 0:21Speaker 1: wanted to basically bring them in and have Evan Chang
- 0:24Speaker 1: join us, coming in from Sweet Network. How are you
- 0:27Speaker 1: missed in laps? How are you?
- 0:28Speaker 2: I'm doing good.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Nice to see you again.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Evan.
- 0:30Speaker 1: You were on about a year ago. I think it
- 0:32Speaker 1: was fantastic video. You guys were very popular on that video,
- 0:36Speaker 1: and now we're talking about another popular topic, which of
- 0:39Speaker 1: course is guess who met a stable coin? Comeback? First
- 0:43Speaker 1: of all, when you saw this news and you started
- 0:46Speaker 1: to see this kind of heading into the market, was
- 0:48Speaker 1: this kind of deja vu lessons from Libra.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I mean, it's not DJFU, right, you see it coming.
- 0:54Speaker 3: It's inevitable. It's being hinted. You know, it's not just Facebook,
- 0:59Speaker 3: it's not just Meta. Yeah, it's it's you know, all
- 1:03Speaker 3: the bigcomer sites. All the big you know, kind of
- 1:05Speaker 3: important players are looking at it, right, So stable coin
- 1:08Speaker 3: is no longer this new thing. Everybody is trying to
- 1:13Speaker 3: understand how to incorporate into the system.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Well, and you look at some of the moves that
- 1:17Speaker 1: are happening in fintech. You've got PayPal, which popped nearly
- 1:21Speaker 1: seven percent. This was just on a report talking about
- 1:24Speaker 1: Stripe that would be weighing in terms of an acquisition
- 1:29Speaker 1: of PayPal. This would be a big deal if Stripe
- 1:31Speaker 1: were to get in bold enough to come in and
- 1:34Speaker 1: acquire PayPal going forward. Did that news catch you by
- 1:39Speaker 1: surprise or do you kind of look at this market
- 1:42Speaker 1: maybe consolidating here in the near future.
- 1:44Speaker 2: It's not really a surprise.
- 1:46Speaker 3: You see how PayPal have fallen behind in the marketplace,
- 1:50Speaker 3: even though it's extremely still popular, it's everywhere, right, I
- 1:53Speaker 3: use PayPal myself all the time, but you also see
- 1:56Speaker 3: it's really not been getting the attention in the market.
- 1:59Speaker 3: You know there was going to be more of these
- 2:02Speaker 3: changes happening in the market.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys are right next door to Facebook and
- 2:06Speaker 1: Meta right down the street. I think I'm looking at
- 2:09Speaker 1: the Meta headquarters and Miston Lab headquarters you're like, what
- 2:11Speaker 1: like three blocks away or something.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it feels well, it depends on traffic.
- 2:17Speaker 3: It's very closed or it could be could be a
- 2:19Speaker 3: bit of a drive.
- 2:20Speaker 1: When you look at everything that's going on with Meta
- 2:23Speaker 1: in terms of a strategy right now, and you kind
- 2:26Speaker 1: of compare to their process of selecting a winner here,
- 2:30Speaker 1: this was a breakdown around the Stripes l one blockchain
- 2:35Speaker 1: Tempo that was really the one that Meta is kind
- 2:38Speaker 1: of coming in. I'll zoom in on that right there.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Because Tempo's network promises to process over one hundred thousand
- 2:43Speaker 1: transactions per second sub second finality, all of that. What
- 2:47Speaker 1: problems might Meta face right now on this blockchain? What
- 2:50Speaker 1: do you think, Well, this is not Meta's block chain, right,
- 2:53Speaker 1: Tempo Stripes blockchain. But yeah, obviously being selected as the partner.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they purposely built of payment, which you
- 3:02Speaker 3: were seeing before we the end was purposely.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Built for payments.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Uh. The complexity of payment is not this is not
- 3:10Speaker 3: where it's complicated. It's at the edge. Right, how do
- 3:14Speaker 3: we deal with compliance? How do we deal with regulation?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Right?
- 3:19Speaker 3: You want to be active, you want that money movement
- 3:22Speaker 3: to be valuable. That's that's where it gets complicated, right,
- 3:27Speaker 3: I think. I think the blockchain technology development has gotten
- 3:30Speaker 3: to the point everybody is seeing what we have done.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Everybody has seen what other high speed blockchain done. A
- 3:36Speaker 3: lot of these things are nothing shocking anymore. We obviously
- 3:40Speaker 3: we still believe we have by far the better technology.
- 3:43Speaker 3: It's the next sort of building blocks that's complicated, right,
- 3:47Speaker 3: How do you have the right kind of privacy building block?
- 3:53Speaker 3: And what does that mean for regulation?
- 3:55Speaker 2: Right?
- 3:56Speaker 3: Can you still be a compliant, still be private? These
- 3:59Speaker 3: are the the complication that we all have to deal
- 4:02Speaker 3: with next.
- 4:03Speaker 1: With metas situation. Timing here is very important. Obviously we
- 4:07Speaker 1: are watching the Clarity Act go through DC right now.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Stable coins are going to be a very clear component
- 4:15Speaker 1: of how strategies are being built. You look at the
- 4:17Speaker 1: Meta fourth quarter report. I was looking at their cash
- 4:20Speaker 1: position right there. I'll zoom in on that so you
- 4:23Speaker 1: can see it cash equivalents marketable security setting it around
- 4:27Speaker 1: eighty billion dollars right now, So that's tbl of cash.
- 4:33Speaker 1: When you look at the size of this and the scope,
- 4:35Speaker 1: wouldn't that make this maybe one of the biggest use
- 4:38Speaker 1: cases for stable coin, especially with distribution that is out
- 4:43Speaker 1: there right now?
- 4:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, look at a number of connected dots, right,
- 4:48Speaker 3: you can imagine every user on the Facebook. Well Facebook
- 4:53Speaker 3: is not just Facebook, right, Meta, It's not just Facebook.
- 4:55Speaker 3: There's Instagram, which is a lot of commerce activity. You know,
- 5:00Speaker 3: WhatsApp one of the most popular kind of messaging app,
- 5:05Speaker 3: especially as the tool people used to connect with their
- 5:10Speaker 3: friends and family overseas, right, not just in the US,
- 5:13Speaker 3: over the world. Massive, massive reach. And I think this
- 5:18Speaker 3: will be one of the sort of validation point for
- 5:22Speaker 3: crypto technology.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Starting with staple coin.
- 5:25Speaker 3: This is going to sort of unlock a lot of everything, right,
- 5:29Speaker 3: every other player is going to feel much more comfortable,
- 5:34Speaker 3: you know, getting involved and start adopting new technology. You Know.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It's interesting too because I think if you look back
- 5:40Speaker 1: in the twenty twenty one cycle, Meta changed their name.
- 5:44Speaker 1: At that time, it was probably the one thing that
- 5:47Speaker 1: kicked off Web three in that era. It's very similar
- 5:50Speaker 1: that this is what we're seeing right now in a
- 5:53Speaker 1: time where the market is kind of in a correction phase,
- 5:56Speaker 1: especially when you look at the regulatory side of this.
- 5:59Speaker 1: You just mentioned all the marketplace transactions. How big do
- 6:03Speaker 1: you think the volume could actually go?
- 6:05Speaker 2: I mean, how big can it be?
- 6:08Speaker 3: It's two hundreds of billions or trillions, who knows right
- 6:13Speaker 3: in what time horizon.
- 6:15Speaker 2: It's there's no up a bump.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Plus you look at the Meta AD plus creator transactions,
- 6:22Speaker 1: that's over two hundred billion. I think right now, that's
- 6:25Speaker 1: a big deal. You guys, of course have something that
- 6:27Speaker 1: you're building alchemy.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Oh that's the AD network, right, that's one of our partners.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Tell me a liberty I have sound success.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so they're.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Using the three stack, right. It's note is not just
- 6:38Speaker 3: the three stack, is not just a blockchain for transferring assets.
- 6:42Speaker 3: So you probably heard the news before, right.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Once in a while, Meta.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Has runys to the situation. They say, well, there was
- 6:50Speaker 3: there were some mistakes. We may be overcharging our partners,
- 6:54Speaker 3: or there's some calculations as wrong, and there's always worry
- 6:57Speaker 3: about these really transparent process or there's collusion, or there's
- 7:02Speaker 3: fraudulent and happening in the air market. So with technology
- 7:07Speaker 3: they can do you know, sort of blind bidding, so
- 7:12Speaker 3: you can ensure absolute fairness and the record can be
- 7:18Speaker 3: validated because it's on the blockchain. Yeah, this is this
- 7:23Speaker 3: is an example of what the future would look like
- 7:25Speaker 3: for something that has been around for for a very
- 7:28Speaker 3: long time.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yeah, tokenized digital advertising interesting that this to your point,
- 7:33Speaker 1: it does kind of get into the transparency side of thing.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I think this is going to be something that we
- 7:37Speaker 1: will continue to see growth on too. Could this mean
- 7:41Speaker 1: Apple starts to lose its clamps on that thirty percent fee,
- 7:46Speaker 1: especially around what Meta is dealing with? Do you think
- 7:48Speaker 1: that has any any bearing on this.
- 7:51Speaker 3: That's that's a little bit complicated, right, It's not just Apple.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Apple is a very close network. They have a lot
- 7:57Speaker 3: of sort of unclear contry over it. I think for
- 8:02Speaker 3: them to lose their that control it, you know, it
- 8:06Speaker 3: will have to come from distribution. Every player is going
- 8:09Speaker 3: to adopt new technology such as you know, stable coins
- 8:13Speaker 3: and other kind of crypto rail that efficiency could translate
- 8:19Speaker 3: in low cost. So we'll see, but I think Apple
- 8:24Speaker 3: will probably hold on to the cuts for a while.
- 8:27Speaker 3: There will be one of the last ones to change.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Do you think Zuckerberg has just been on the sidelines
- 8:34Speaker 1: or do you think he's quietly been strategically building here
- 8:38Speaker 1: or trying to at least plan for this next evolution
- 8:42Speaker 1: for Meta as a business.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Mark Zuckerberry is never on the sideline anything.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I'm sure he's watching the development or the technology or
- 8:52Speaker 3: the everything that's happening in the market. Of course, everybody's
- 8:56Speaker 3: attention has been on AI, but financial related technology is
- 9:01Speaker 3: always on top of every you know, big tech CEO's
- 9:04Speaker 3: mynd you cannot you know it? Yeah, I don't believe
- 9:07Speaker 3: for one second being complete as on line you know,
- 9:11Speaker 3: not paying attention to it.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Hey, listen, I've got another major fintech CEO that's starting
- 9:17Speaker 1: to address this and east and this is, of course,
- 9:19Speaker 1: is the CEO of Stripe. Let me play this clip
- 9:22Speaker 1: for you because he's talking about building a commerce chain
- 9:25Speaker 1: first and then I want to get your opinion on this.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Take a look.
- 9:27Speaker 4: There's been sort of a new narrative around agents will
- 9:31Speaker 4: use stable coins. I'm wondering how much overlap there is there.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Purely the web is not built for agents. You're going
- 9:38Speaker 4: to need blockchains and this was our thinking behind it,
- 9:40Speaker 4: incubating tempo. Like everything in AI, people want to sell
- 9:43Speaker 4: a hypee story and so they, you know, talk about
- 9:45Speaker 4: how the machines will buy everything, you know, with as
- 9:47Speaker 4: you can consulting you that that seems far off and
- 9:49Speaker 4: not that excited about that. You can start from just
- 9:51Speaker 4: the basics of why are we filling out forms like
- 9:54Speaker 4: why can't I just send something to you know, a
- 9:57Speaker 4: link to CHATCHYBT and have it bias or why can
- 10:00Speaker 4: anti search you know, outside of you know, just do
- 10:03Speaker 4: a basic keyword search or something like that. And so
- 10:06Speaker 4: a lot of the work Stripe is doing is building
- 10:08Speaker 4: the infrastructure. We're working with all the big retailers that
- 10:11Speaker 4: you would expect, the you know, Etsy's and Shopifys and
- 10:14Speaker 4: best Buys and Walmarts and folks like this. And there's
- 10:17Speaker 4: basically a ton of boring API and protocol and infrastructure work.
- 10:21Speaker 4: But because of blockchain congestion where you know, you have
- 10:25Speaker 4: coins that are or blockchains both used for kind of
- 10:28Speaker 4: mean coin trading and also serious real world payments, and
- 10:32Speaker 4: so we just want low latency, high through push payments
- 10:35Speaker 4: and we're going to need much higher throughput for the
- 10:37Speaker 4: age of very specific product terms. People just want to
- 10:40Speaker 4: be able to do shopping, do discovery, do purchases within
- 10:43Speaker 4: the aipps.
- 10:44Speaker 1: All right, So that's his argument. My question to you
- 10:47Speaker 1: is what's the better strategy if you look at commerce
- 10:50Speaker 1: being the strategy, which is what Stripe is talking about,
- 10:52Speaker 1: that's their business of course, versus what you guys are
- 10:55Speaker 1: building for which is edge When you look at DeFi
- 10:59Speaker 1: and the explore version that most likely will take place
- 11:02Speaker 1: with SUI, what's the better strategy here?
- 11:05Speaker 3: Well, so the better strategy is not the same for
- 11:08Speaker 3: every player. Stripe has a relationship. All the merchants, of course,
- 11:12Speaker 3: are going to go from merchant for commerce network from
- 11:16Speaker 3: commerce first. We don't have it right if you're building
- 11:19Speaker 3: a new blockchain, a new ecosyst and you don't have
- 11:21Speaker 3: all that relationship right. So our strategy has been building
- 11:26Speaker 3: the infrastructure first and then building the layers on top.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And as we build, we learn right what.
- 11:32Speaker 3: The broader community needs, what the ecosystem needs, How do
- 11:36Speaker 3: we develop these touch points, how do we develop this relationship?
- 11:40Speaker 3: The strategy will courage and that's the part people, you know,
- 11:44Speaker 3: perhaps are missing. So once you building infrastructure, you're going
- 11:47Speaker 3: up the stack and we all start attacking some these
- 11:50Speaker 3: similar problems, but perhaps in a very different way. There's
- 11:54Speaker 3: not one strategy that's going to work okay well for everyone.
- 11:57Speaker 1: And obviously throughput is going to be a big part
- 11:59Speaker 1: of that. Do you feel like you guys address that
- 12:02Speaker 1: in terms of whether it's memes, whether it is payments,
- 12:05Speaker 1: whether it is agentic transactions throughput. Will you guys be
- 12:09Speaker 1: able to deal with that?
- 12:10Speaker 3: Yeah, street pool is really not a concern, right. You
- 12:13Speaker 3: have seen us making the infrastructure enhancements as we learn
- 12:18Speaker 3: more and more of what that congestion would look like.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Uh probably heard a couple months ago. We even announced
- 12:24Speaker 3: the update to the database. So you can have congestion,
- 12:27Speaker 3: that's one problem with dealt with her. But then there
- 12:30Speaker 3: is a persistent high kind of low for a period time,
- 12:33Speaker 3: then database becomes a problem. We solve that as well,
- 12:36Speaker 3: So I think it's going to be We'll keep on
- 12:38Speaker 3: building to meet the demand. We don't really have any
- 12:41Speaker 3: concern about that. So a lot is sort of you
- 12:45Speaker 3: kind of have to get there to really see. I
- 12:48Speaker 3: is there any other kind of chick points that we
- 12:51Speaker 3: need to address? But we feel very good about our technology.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Because this is the question I think a lot of
- 12:56Speaker 1: people are trying to figure out. There was the article
- 12:58Speaker 1: and the research that we talked about yesterday's show, which
- 13:01Speaker 1: is that agentic AI will essentially start to distill down
- 13:05Speaker 1: into the most efficient model for agentic payments. You guys
- 13:10Speaker 1: of course launched what is it BEEP and you look
- 13:12Speaker 1: at this versus an example of what's going on Stripe,
- 13:16Speaker 1: which right now is primarily commerce, and you're still getting
- 13:19Speaker 1: those fees merchant fees, et cetera. In the future that
- 13:21Speaker 1: could be all stripped down. And if you look at this,
- 13:24Speaker 1: this is the kind of the connection here because this
- 13:26Speaker 1: drops into all of the tool sets that essentially AI
- 13:30Speaker 1: driven and it's zero fees versus what we're dealing with
- 13:33Speaker 1: the traditional fees that we've talked about on our channel
- 13:36Speaker 1: for a long time, is that credit card fees, processing fees,
- 13:39Speaker 1: all these things eventually go away with this. Do you
- 13:42Speaker 1: think this is within reach now, say, in the next
- 13:45Speaker 1: twelve months.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Absolutely. Yes.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Let me touch on the zero fee a little bit
- 13:49Speaker 3: and that perhaps we answer the question how is zero
- 13:52Speaker 3: fee possible? Are we eating the fee or is BEEP
- 13:55Speaker 3: eating the feed? No, because the asset was being put
- 13:58Speaker 3: to work to generate you and the yield cover the fee.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:02Speaker 3: So this is very important when you think staple coin
- 14:06Speaker 3: is just the simpler phone tokenized asset. So the token
- 14:09Speaker 3: assets are in a lot of ways similar to non
- 14:12Speaker 3: tokenized asset. It's just money or just gold or just whatever.
- 14:18Speaker 3: But tokenization means you can put the asset immediate to work.
- 14:22Speaker 2: You can generate earning from.
- 14:24Speaker 3: It which cover fees, which make everything more active and
- 14:28Speaker 3: more powerful, more faster. So this is important and I
- 14:32Speaker 3: will not be surprised you see the model continue to
- 14:35Speaker 3: change where people understand then that people really understand the
- 14:40Speaker 3: benefit of this phone payment versus the traditional payment. The
- 14:45Speaker 3: adoption just going to go, you know, go through the roof.
- 14:48Speaker 2: So this is.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Really to be parabolic because if you do figure this
- 14:52Speaker 1: out and merchants will migrate to this so quickly, which
- 14:56Speaker 1: automatically gives you immediate distribution. That's just at the retail level,
- 15:01Speaker 1: whether it's e commerce or in person. So I can
- 15:04Speaker 1: see how this would be unbelievably popular with the markets
- 15:08Speaker 1: in general. I'm looking at a couple of other things.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I wanted to kind of focus on a Danie's tweet
- 15:14Speaker 1: right here. He hit on this right here, which is
- 15:16Speaker 1: this is what the future of money looks like. First
- 15:19Speaker 1: agentic bank account, sweet network is lives checking, savings, credit
- 15:22Speaker 1: exchange payments, all of that's available. This is a big deal.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Is this more of a PR stunt or is this
- 15:29Speaker 1: something that you guys feel is going to be an
- 15:31Speaker 1: absolute change? And how payments and banking is done in
- 15:34Speaker 1: the future.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Well, this is amazing. This is just I think individual
- 15:39Speaker 3: developer developers on street. Yeah, but this is going to
- 15:43Speaker 3: be what it requires for one of the many components
- 15:46Speaker 3: required for agents to be purely autonomous. Yeah, you're seeing
- 15:50Speaker 3: the friction that slorready exists with a gender kind of
- 15:55Speaker 3: and how they kind of make use of their owners assets.
- 16:00Speaker 3: If you give agent access to your bank account or
- 16:06Speaker 3: even to your crypto com Right, wasn't there just a
- 16:09Speaker 3: couple of days ago somebody When the agents send something
- 16:12Speaker 3: like fifteen thousand to somebody on Twitter just because you know, right,
- 16:17Speaker 3: and the way mistake costs, they'll owner a lot of money.
- 16:20Speaker 3: So there has to be separation. So for agents to
- 16:24Speaker 3: have control their own financial asset so they can do
- 16:28Speaker 3: things on the owner's behalf. Is it's going to be important.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I want to Okay, So so the I think it's
- 16:35Speaker 1: early stage. Obviously we'll see around agenttic payments taking place
- 16:40Speaker 1: and the stripping down of a lot of this fluff
- 16:42Speaker 1: market that has been out there because the agents are
- 16:44Speaker 1: going to look for the best deals on everything, no
- 16:46Speaker 1: matter whether it's a subscription, a travel program, or just
- 16:50Speaker 1: a transaction. So I can see that. You look at
- 16:53Speaker 1: the way in which they're going to transact. You guys
- 16:56Speaker 1: of course launched the E swie dollar, so this is
- 16:59Speaker 1: WEE USD. Why is this better for traders and holders
- 17:03Speaker 1: than say, you know, circles USDC explain.
- 17:07Speaker 3: In this case the general putting your money to work
- 17:11Speaker 3: without having to take an extra step to put it
- 17:16Speaker 3: to work is a powerful concept. I think this is
- 17:21Speaker 3: something people can understand the benefit immediately.
- 17:26Speaker 1: But if an agent is going to be able to
- 17:29Speaker 1: take your assets get the very best yield for it,
- 17:33Speaker 1: would it not look for all the different solutions that
- 17:37Speaker 1: are out there to be able to do this. A
- 17:38Speaker 1: good example would be HI Finance. Right here, here's all
- 17:40Speaker 1: the vaults they can liket, I can drop my SUI
- 17:42Speaker 1: in there. Why would this not be the solution versus
- 17:46Speaker 1: say going native on this.
- 17:48Speaker 3: They're not in competition, they're transversion right exactly right. You
- 17:53Speaker 3: have sort of money that's passive sitting you checking account
- 17:57Speaker 3: right now, collecting zero point in some per se. Or
- 18:00Speaker 3: you can have money sitting around and generate one percent.
- 18:04Speaker 2: What's better.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Let me get into this right here, because I'm looking
- 18:07Speaker 1: at RWA as being one of the biggest growth areas
- 18:10Speaker 1: right here, and I go over and I track this down,
- 18:13Speaker 1: and what are you guys doing to improve this component
- 18:17Speaker 1: for the SWEE network.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Well, first of all, you need to have high quality assets.
- 18:22Speaker 3: What we have seen in the last year or so,
- 18:25Speaker 3: there's been this spoon WA. A lot of chains claim
- 18:29Speaker 3: to have a ton of WA, but US answer questions
- 18:33Speaker 3: what are they doing right issuing WA? These assets sit
- 18:38Speaker 3: there because if there's no byside, these assets are not
- 18:43Speaker 3: being put to work generating or part of the economic
- 18:46Speaker 3: activities on CHIN, then there's pre pointless, right. So I
- 18:50Speaker 3: think what we're seeing is we have now identified the partners.
- 18:54Speaker 3: We have the partners a very interesting high quality assets
- 18:58Speaker 3: on CHIN with buyers interests. To asset look and feel
- 19:03Speaker 3: a lot like your traditional asset, but they're just better
- 19:07Speaker 3: the immediate being put to work. They're t plus zero
- 19:11Speaker 3: version of your traditional asset. So pretty soon you're going,
- 19:14Speaker 3: I mean, we already have it. You can buy token
- 19:17Speaker 3: ized goal, you can buy go today, but token I
- 19:19Speaker 3: schools means you can immediate put it to work.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Huge in terms of mainstream Evan, I want to go
- 19:25Speaker 1: into our rapid round with you, and this is a
- 19:29Speaker 1: whole series of questions kind of your thoughts on it,
- 19:33Speaker 1: and Meta abandons the stripe chain, which is you know
- 19:36Speaker 1: what we're talking about there, uh and launches its own
- 19:39Speaker 1: L two on a theorem. You think that will happen
- 19:41Speaker 1: with Mark.
- 19:42Speaker 2: No, here's no way. No, okay, You're absolutely no way.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Not going to launch it. I'm going to go up.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Well, so remember.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Remember we remember you remember we we were there, right,
- 19:53Speaker 3: we look at ETHEREU and we look at everything.
- 19:56Speaker 2: We create a move and all that.
- 19:58Speaker 3: No, given the amount of money involved, given how mission critical.
- 20:03Speaker 2: It is, well that makes well. While the team has
- 20:05Speaker 2: moved on.
- 20:06Speaker 3: People understand the understanding stace is you cannot touch solidity,
- 20:11Speaker 3: EV and Etherian.
- 20:12Speaker 2: That's true.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you just now, okay, you just talked me
- 20:16Speaker 1: into being on the fence. Then I'm on the fence. No,
- 20:19Speaker 1: just because I think speed the market is going to
- 20:22Speaker 1: matter now more though more so than ever.
- 20:24Speaker 2: There's plenty of situation Buchun so that you know.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I like it. All right, let's go into this.
- 20:30Speaker 1: If clarity doesn't pass, Meta will eventually join coinbase on
- 20:34Speaker 1: the stable coin yield fight. What do you think you
- 20:37Speaker 1: think they'll defend stable coin yields if Clarity.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I don't think they're going to get involved here. So
- 20:43Speaker 3: when you say the clergy doesn't pass, you're saying next sptral. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:49Speaker 3: I don't think they're getting involved.
- 20:51Speaker 1: If Clarity doesn't pass, Apple will eventually join the banks.
- 20:55Speaker 1: They'll say that's okay, we don't want stable coin yield,
- 20:57Speaker 1: we want to ban it.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I don't think they will get involve either. Yeah.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I don't know. Man, these guys they get they get
- 21:03Speaker 1: in some of these fights for crazy reasons.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Uh.
- 21:05Speaker 1: And of course this is the guy that usually gets
- 21:07Speaker 1: in on the best, and that's Elon.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Uh.
- 21:10Speaker 1: He races to launch a stable coin after Meta's USD launch.
- 21:13Speaker 1: What do you think do you think would.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Go after one? I wouldn't. I wouldn't bet on this.
- 21:20Speaker 3: I would instead think about whether Elon would would launch
- 21:24Speaker 3: something before Meta.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Oh okay, so you think yes, But like way out here,
- 21:29Speaker 1: you think he's going to really race. I'm on that
- 21:32Speaker 1: on that panel as well. I think he's going to
- 21:33Speaker 1: go for well.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I don't.
- 21:34Speaker 3: I don't know if they need to launch it onn
- 21:36Speaker 3: staple coin, but I would not be surprised staple coin.
- 21:41Speaker 3: He's already talked about how x is going to be
- 21:43Speaker 3: a super app with with commerce and everything, it makes
- 21:46Speaker 3: sense for stable coin to be part of it.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Meta Eventually this allows USDC and u s TT usage
- 21:53Speaker 1: across its platform in favor of Meta USD. What do
- 21:56Speaker 1: you think they'll lock it down?
- 21:58Speaker 3: I think they will choice so meta like a lot
- 22:03Speaker 3: of others like, they very very conscious of the friction
- 22:07Speaker 3: you introduce by giving the user too many choices. They
- 22:11Speaker 3: may bet on something. Now is that the case for
- 22:15Speaker 3: everything that's not as clear? Right, So if you're in
- 22:19Speaker 3: say Instagram, that's different. If it's sort of back in,
- 22:25Speaker 3: I don't think they will be as sensitive to different
- 22:28Speaker 3: stable coins.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Yeah, they could be a king maker for sure.
- 22:31Speaker 3: No, I think they don't need to do this right
- 22:34Speaker 3: because in the future, the orchestration is going to be
- 22:36Speaker 3: very important for humans, for anybody, for any entities. Just say, okay,
- 22:41Speaker 3: I'm going to choose to pay in US dollar, whether
- 22:45Speaker 3: there's fear or stable coin, I would just pick the
- 22:48Speaker 3: one that's better. Now, do I want to pick between
- 22:52Speaker 3: different stable coins or being hidden away from as a choice?
- 22:56Speaker 2: I think that's the latter.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Is what's going to be the the moderate out event, all.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Right, METAAI agents and stable coins would rather would usher
- 23:06Speaker 1: in the end of visa and MasterCard. What do you
- 23:08Speaker 1: think this is in reference to the Sutrini report, which
- 23:11Speaker 1: was that forward looking article saying that the end of
- 23:14Speaker 1: MasterCard and Visa is eminent.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Now they're smart people there adopt right, does hurt their
- 23:22Speaker 3: businesses to change their business?
- 23:24Speaker 2: Yes? Okay, well the end of visa, mastercar, I doubt it.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I'm more on the front of that. Retail will push
- 23:33Speaker 1: this and it and and you know, it's like all businesses.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Nobody wants to be out, you know, you know, out maneuvered.
- 23:42Speaker 1: But you look at how retail pushes and let me
- 23:45Speaker 1: tell you, retail is not a fan of these credit
- 23:49Speaker 1: card fees. The minute they get a glimmer of an
- 23:52Speaker 1: alternative demanded distribution, I think shifts the game pretty quickly.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Now do they pivot? Maybe they do. I don't know.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Well, I wouldn't visa massacre be the frendi.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Endu could be, could be.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and they can offer additional benefits to the to
- 24:08Speaker 3: the users and holders.
- 24:10Speaker 2: We will see.
- 24:11Speaker 1: What about meta? You think they'll jump into prediction markets,
- 24:14Speaker 1: you know, polymarket or do they build their own?
- 24:16Speaker 3: Uh? They won't have either none, okay, because I think
- 24:20Speaker 3: prediction market as a stance today is not going to
- 24:24Speaker 3: be the prediction market that stands it exists in five
- 24:27Speaker 3: years from now. So I think that's a general term.
- 24:31Speaker 3: We'll see where it goes. Kelsey and Pody markets don't great,
- 24:34Speaker 3: especially party market. They started this. They will involve evolve themselves.
- 24:39Speaker 3: So again I think this is not different. This is
- 24:42Speaker 3: not a time bounded question, right, so this can be
- 24:45Speaker 3: ultimately true one way or the other.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I love it. But global regulation forcing Metada into
- 24:50Speaker 1: privacy enabled change? Do you think that will happen?
- 24:53Speaker 3: Uh?
- 24:53Speaker 2: Privacy enable change? Uh?
- 24:56Speaker 3: That that's a silly terminology. So privacy it is a feature.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Blockchain can have privacy enabled functionality on top. If you're
- 25:07Speaker 3: baking into privacy meaning your closed network, that's silly. That
- 25:12Speaker 3: would never work.
- 25:14Speaker 1: But not a chance.
- 25:16Speaker 3: They will be forced into some privacy to protect the customer.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Doesn't mean they will be forced into a privacy enabled.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Chain, okay. Web three social app takes off in the
- 25:27Speaker 1: next three years after a bipartisan revolt against meta x
- 25:30Speaker 1: or TikTok and their practices.
- 25:33Speaker 3: No more likely when the social network will dub web
- 25:39Speaker 3: Stree technology rather than saying web stree species social app.
- 25:44Speaker 3: But I think again people sort of thinking in sort
- 25:47Speaker 3: of binary here. It's not the case. It's not like
- 25:51Speaker 3: there's a Web three versus a Web two app. It's
- 25:54Speaker 3: just elements. It's going to be incorporated.
- 25:57Speaker 1: And my statement on that, you know, if you had
- 25:59Speaker 1: asked me this two years ago, I would have said, well,
- 26:02Speaker 1: maybe there's an alternative here. But with the Web three
- 26:05Speaker 1: implosions that we had in trying to get federated social media,
- 26:08Speaker 1: it showed just how hard it is and that distribution matters.
- 26:12Speaker 1: And I think you're right. I think that they just
- 26:14Speaker 1: adopt a Web three model that starts to you know,
- 26:17Speaker 1: potentially address some of the issues that I think eventually
- 26:20Speaker 1: will come out of lawmakers, you know, for privacy concerns
- 26:23Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff for sure.
- 26:25Speaker 3: And the market is markets, right, It's never going to
- 26:28Speaker 3: be regular regulation enforced force the market to go one
- 26:33Speaker 3: way or the other.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Here's a bonus question. Which successful Pokemon ecosystem would you
- 26:37Speaker 1: rather have on sue right now? Physical or the digital?
- 26:42Speaker 3: This is an interesting one.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Digital. That's say, I think.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Scarcity is something Pokemon does really well. Yeah, so they
- 26:58Speaker 3: need to figure out what that clike first.
- 27:02Speaker 2: So yeah, digital, all right, Bolt is going to be digital.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'm going to stay with you on digital.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I think that's that's kind of the future of where
- 27:11Speaker 1: we're going to see all these assets go. Evan Chang
- 27:14Speaker 1: coming in from Sweet Network. Thank you so much Missing Labs.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Of course, you guys can learn a lot more about SWEE.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I'm sure most of everybody that's watching this today understands
