- 0:00Speaker 1: The bench with jacob hester and matt flynn hands.
- 0:04Speaker 2: To hester and hester got it five out of five.
- 0:07Speaker 1: From carrying each other to a natty to carrying each
- 0:11Speaker 1: other on the air live from the raising cane studio
- 0:19Speaker 1: it's off the bench i.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Can't stand it.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Hello.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Hey. Hey, bud.
- 0:34Speaker 3: What's happening?
- 0:38Speaker 2: Not much. Just put a mint in. I had that
- 0:41Speaker 2: after coffee breath, and it just wasn't feeling great.
- 0:43Speaker 3: God, I'm so glad. I was going to tell you something.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Just put a mint in, though. I mean, you're sitting
- 0:48Speaker 2: far enough away.
- 0:50Speaker 3: You think so?
- 0:50Speaker 2: You're out of the splash zone.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Contaminated. Coming up later, Cassie's going to join us to
- 0:58Speaker 3: talk Chick-fil-A points. Looking forward to that.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yeah, she is. She's very fired up.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Yep. And we're going to talk about her first step,
- 1:04Speaker 3: her first 10.
- 1:05Speaker 2: It was impressive, honestly. Yep.
- 1:08Speaker 3: She's going to break down the point system, how to
- 1:10Speaker 3: use them, when to use them, how to get them.
- 1:11Speaker 4: If you want to see Cassie move full speed, just
- 1:13Speaker 4: tell her someone's mic's off.
- 1:15Speaker 2: My God.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I do appreciate the, it wasn't like a, sometimes when
- 1:20Speaker 3: you tell somebody something like that, they kind of think
- 1:21Speaker 3: about it, they ponder, they, hmm.
- 1:24Speaker 2: What do you say? There was no really. Is he
- 1:27Speaker 2: speaking loud enough? Boom.
- 1:30Speaker 3: She gone.
- 1:31Speaker 2: She gone. Anyways. Any news?
- 1:39Speaker 3: So we're not going to the game this weekend, by
- 1:40Speaker 3: the way.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Who are you talking about? You. Oh, no. I'm not
- 1:45Speaker 2: going to go to this game. This guy.
- 1:49Speaker 4: We will be going to multiple games this year, which
- 1:52Speaker 4: is different for us. But since the schedule is so awesome,
- 1:58Speaker 4: I think that this is going to end up being
- 2:00Speaker 4: a blowout.
- 2:00Speaker 2: So I'm not going to go. Okay. Wait for the
- 2:03Speaker 2: good games. Yeah. Clemson's going to stink. Going to the
- 2:05Speaker 2: La Tech game? La Tech. Go Dawgs. Yeah, no, Clemson stinks. So,
- 2:10Speaker 2: you know, we're not going to go to this.
- 2:14Speaker 3: One.
- 2:14Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Actually, we do have a couple things happening, but it's
- 2:20Speaker 4: also going to be hot.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I don't like heat. I don't know.
- 2:25Speaker 3: There's like seven cameras. I don't know which one to
- 2:27Speaker 3: look at for dramatic effect. There's a lot of cameras.
- 2:31Speaker 3: You don't like the heat.
- 2:32Speaker 2: No, I hate the heat. It's Louisiana. I know. You
- 2:35Speaker 2: live in Louisiana. I got it.
- 2:36Speaker 3: It's part of, like, your callus to it at this point.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Oh, no. Uh-uh. Every year it gets worse for me.
- 2:42Speaker 3: That's why you wear that very breathable poncho shirt, Brett.
- 2:45Speaker 2: These shirts are the best.
- 2:46Speaker 3: PonchoOutdoors.com slash offthebench.
- 2:49Speaker 2: They are the best shirts. And I'm not just saying.
- 2:52Speaker 3: That, like, You got to understand, he's not just some guy.
- 2:55Speaker 4: I'm not just some guy. I know I got it.
- 2:57Speaker 4: You see the face. You're like male model, clearly. I
- 3:01Speaker 4: know I have invaded a lot of people's social feeds
- 3:03Speaker 4: with the poncho shirt.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I got it. I hear it.
- 3:08Speaker 4: But these shirts are awesome. And I hear about it
- 3:12Speaker 4: all the time. Every time I go somewhere, like, they're
- 3:15Speaker 4: sold out of this one. I'm like, yeah, because they
- 3:19Speaker 4: go fast.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Hey, there's only been two college shirts... four poncho to
- 3:24Speaker 3: like sell out yep and they've both been lsu not
- 3:28Speaker 3: a big deal 2025 and 2026 that's.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Why lsu is the best that's why the fans are
- 3:32Speaker 4: the best and they got a lot of licenses though.
- 3:36Speaker 3: And that's why the male models are the best for.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Lsu i mean that's us some would say too sexy.
- 3:44Speaker 3: And they say it sells trying to whisper there's a
- 3:46Speaker 3: lot of people in this.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Room right now you're right i should have worn the
- 3:49Speaker 4: short shorts Well, actually, no.
- 3:52Speaker 3: That was kind of uncomfortable for me last time.
- 3:54Speaker 2: MSJ didn't stand a chance when I had the short
- 3:56Speaker 2: shorts on.
- 3:57Speaker 4: No, Murphy, Sam, and Jody. They didn't have it. They
- 3:59Speaker 4: don't know how to sell it. They don't know how
- 4:00Speaker 4: to sell it.
- 4:01Speaker 2: They were crying in the corner.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah, you heard right. We talk about Murphy, Sam, and Jody,
- 4:05Speaker 3: the law firm. Second place.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Get out of here. Sure, they win every year. They
- 4:11Speaker 2: win the award.
- 4:12Speaker 3: That's not what matters.
- 4:13Speaker 2: It's about the vibes. Jessie's new to this. She's uncomfortable.
- 4:17Speaker 3: We talk about Murphy, Sam, and Jody like every day.
- 4:21Speaker 3: They're competition. That's what we're going against.
- 4:23Speaker 2: That's right. Crushing. We talk ish about them.
- 4:31Speaker 3: It's kind of funny that people are new to this conversation.
- 4:33Speaker 3: We do it all the time.
- 4:35Speaker 2: We do it every day. They get astray. Okay. All
- 4:40Speaker 2: three of them. Murphy, Sam, and also Jody. Individually.
- 4:45Speaker 3: And collectively.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Okay. Mainly collectively. Mainly collectively.
- 4:56Speaker 4: All right, I'm going to focus this in on something
- 4:58Speaker 4: sporty I saw yesterday that was very interesting to me.
- 5:01Speaker 4: I saw Pat McAfee on socials responded to this. Well,
- 5:05Speaker 4: there was some guy that did some research about the
- 5:08Speaker 4: New England Patriots in the Bill Belichick era.
- 5:12Speaker 2: You know, Gillette, is it still called Gillette Stadium? Yes.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Okay, Gillette Stadium is very unique. There is, when you're
- 5:18Speaker 4: at field level, The jumbotron on either side of the
- 5:21Speaker 4: field is right behind the uprights. So kind of like
- 5:26Speaker 4: the upper half. So someone did some research. And I'm
- 5:30Speaker 4: going to kind of read you. It's kind of a
- 5:31Speaker 4: long post here that he did on Twitter. I'm going
- 5:33Speaker 4: to kind of read you kind of what he did
- 5:35Speaker 4: the research on. So this guy, his name is Ryan Paganetti.
- 5:40Speaker 4: He went through more than a decade of TV broadcasts.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 5:44Speaker 4: And he uncovered what he calls a diabolically clever piece
- 5:48Speaker 4: of Patriots gamesmanship. Now, Patriots, famous for their gamesmanship. That's
- 5:54Speaker 4: what you want to call it.
- 5:55Speaker 2: They've been known to dabble.
- 5:57Speaker 4: So when opposing kickers lined up at Gillette Stadium, the
- 6:02Speaker 4: video board, so the jumbotron that is right behind the upright,
- 6:04Speaker 4: displayed a reverse view of of the kick. So just
- 6:09Speaker 4: like the end zone view of the kick that's behind
- 6:12Speaker 4: the uprights placing a second offset of the yellow uprights
- 6:19Speaker 4: directly behind the real ones. So there's a second set
- 6:23Speaker 4: of on the jumbotron, just picture this in real time,
- 6:26Speaker 4: the kicker's view.
- 6:27Speaker 2: He sees the real uprights.
- 6:29Speaker 4: The jumbotron is directly behind them with a reverse angle
- 6:34Speaker 4: of looking at them and there's uprights and they offset
- 6:38Speaker 4: it by like a couple of yards.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:39Speaker 4: So he's looking at the real uprights and then offset
- 6:42Speaker 4: to the left is another set of uprights on the Jumbotron.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Now where the reverse angle comes into play is because
- 6:50Speaker 4: if the wind's blowing from east to west, the orange
- 6:54Speaker 4: streamers are blown one way on the reverse angle.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:59Speaker 4: You see visually another set of uprights that are offset
- 7:02Speaker 4: from the real ones.
- 7:03Speaker 2: And the orange thing's blown the other way. Right. And
- 7:05Speaker 2: it's pretty clear.
- 7:08Speaker 4: In windy conditions, even the orange streamers on the video
- 7:11Speaker 4: board appeared to point in the opposite direction from those
- 7:14Speaker 4: atop the physical uprights, making the illusion more disorienting. They
- 7:19Speaker 4: found dozens of examples of this. In the same games,
- 7:23Speaker 4: he reviewed 52 Patriot field goal attempts, and the illusion
- 7:26Speaker 4: appeared zero times when the Patriots kicked field goals, and
- 7:31Speaker 4: every time when the opponent So it was a in there.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Some real Tom foolery going on there.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Real Tom fool.
- 7:39Speaker 4: So he quotes that it's a perfect encapsulation of the
- 7:42Speaker 4: Patriots dynasty. No detail was too small. No possible edge
- 7:46Speaker 4: was left unexplored. You look at this tactic and you
- 7:53Speaker 4: see like and I'll show you.
- 7:55Speaker 2: This is kind of what it looks like right there.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. I mean, clear as day.
- 7:59Speaker 4: And I don't know if Luke can get a picture
- 8:02Speaker 4: of it on there, but it's one of these deals
- 8:04Speaker 4: where I was like, man, this.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Is not even.
- 8:10Speaker 2: An illusion.
- 8:11Speaker 4: They are actually painting uprights that are, they're, they're, they're offset.
- 8:15Speaker 3: So, and it looks real enough where it looks like
- 8:17Speaker 3: it's the actual camera, especially.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Like in a big situation, a lot of pressure on
- 8:21Speaker 4: a kick. Like you're looking down at the whole, you're
- 8:24Speaker 4: looking at, you're doing like your routine where they like
- 8:27Speaker 4: stretch and they, whatever. And then like, you look up,
- 8:30Speaker 4: look down, like even if a door disorients you for
- 8:33Speaker 4: like a split second, you're like, no, no, that's not it.
- 8:35Speaker 2: You got to go back to this one. It takes
- 8:36Speaker 2: your focus off at least a little bit.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Um, He did not follow up with any stats about, like,
- 8:41Speaker 4: opponents' percentages in Gillette compared to other away stadiums or
- 8:46Speaker 4: anything like that. But it just was fascinating because it
- 8:50Speaker 4: goes to show you that zero attempts for New England
- 8:55Speaker 4: kickers every time with opposing kickers, obviously it was for
- 8:58Speaker 4: a reason.
- 9:00Speaker 3: They just always do too much.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Always. Or just the right amount.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I think it's too much. I think it's too much.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I think it's too much.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Like for me, do I care if somebody steals signals?
- 9:13Speaker 2: No.
- 9:14Speaker 3: If they do it in the way that you used
- 9:16Speaker 3: to do it in real time, I don't care that
- 9:19Speaker 3: you should be better at your signals, right? We've got
- 9:23Speaker 3: a friend that we both share that I was at
- 9:25Speaker 3: a middle school football game last year. and he was
- 9:27Speaker 3: playing against my son, and he was giving signals out,
- 9:29Speaker 3: and I had his signals by the third one. He
- 9:31Speaker 3: didn't like that I had his signals once I texted him.
- 9:34Speaker 3: I didn't use them, but I said, hey, bud, I
- 9:35Speaker 3: got your signals.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Everything's fair.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Anything that shows up on television, anything that's clear on
- 9:41Speaker 4: a sideline that you can see in film review, anything
- 9:45Speaker 4: you can pick up in real-time.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Action, fair game. You can't hide somebody.
- 9:51Speaker 4: You can't disguise somebody in dark glasses and their color
- 9:54Speaker 4: jersey and put them on their sideline.
- 9:56Speaker 2: You can't sneak and film someone's practice.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Film signals, yeah. You can't do that. That's a step
- 10:03Speaker 3: too far. That's egregious. And people are paranoid about it.
- 10:08Speaker 3: I've told this story a thousand times.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Oh, college is the worst.
- 10:10Speaker 3: When we were playing, when I was with Peyton in
- 10:13Speaker 3: Denver in 12, we were playing the Ravens in the
- 10:16Speaker 3: regular season. We played them in the playoffs later, but
- 10:18Speaker 3: He's like, hey, you know, we played them on Sunday
- 10:20Speaker 3: night football. And, you know, those mics are a little
- 10:23Speaker 3: bit hotter on national broadcasts. And we used these three
- 10:26Speaker 3: code words during that broadcast in 02. And I know
- 10:29Speaker 3: it was a long time ago. It was about a
- 10:30Speaker 3: decade ago. But a lot of the same people are
- 10:32Speaker 3: still there. And so we need to switch those code
- 10:34Speaker 3: words up because that hot mic in 02 caught those
- 10:37Speaker 3: code words.
- 10:38Speaker 2: That's a real story. I was like, all right. From
- 10:42Speaker 2: a decade ago from the Sunday night football. I know.
- 10:45Speaker 2: We would do that.
- 10:46Speaker 4: We would– Our third-string quarterback in Green Bay, he would
- 10:51Speaker 4: be in charge of watching the TV copy. And did
- 11:00Speaker 4: any signal, did any verbal alerts or code words get
- 11:04Speaker 4: caught by us?
- 11:06Speaker 2: So self-scouted. You can catch a lot, certainly on a
- 11:10Speaker 2: bigger TV broadcast.
- 11:11Speaker 3: So if it is Thursday Night Football, Sunday night football,
- 11:15Speaker 3: Monday night football, there's going to be even more mics,
- 11:17Speaker 3: even more technology. Now, like in real time, like I
- 11:22Speaker 3: can hear a code word and know the situation, and
- 11:25Speaker 3: nine times out of ten I'm going to guess it anyway.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Based off of it, the R, the L, the city,
- 11:30Speaker 3: the direct, all those different things.
- 11:32Speaker 2: But if you already kind of go in knowing that.
- 11:34Speaker 4: And that's where experience at quarterback and like the offensive
- 11:38Speaker 4: line experience there helps too because when you get to
- 11:41Speaker 4: that next level– You also start doing a lot of
- 11:44Speaker 4: dummy codes. We would go into a primetime game, and
- 11:48Speaker 4: Aaron would just scream gibberish at the line. And they
- 11:52Speaker 4: knew that it was gibberish. And they would do that
- 11:54Speaker 4: so it would get caught on camera. And they would
- 11:56Speaker 4: do fake hand signals to his veteran receivers. You can
- 11:59Speaker 4: do little things like that when you're more experienced.
- 12:01Speaker 3: We would do some gibberish stuff, and then whatever the
- 12:04Speaker 3: word was, if we ever said that word, then anything
- 12:07Speaker 3: after that word became live.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, you're just spouting stuff.
- 12:10Speaker 4: We went one year that was, like, anything I said
- 12:12Speaker 4: that involved, like, a snake. So it was, like, a
- 12:14Speaker 4: snake in the grass. Anything, like, if you said cobra,
- 12:16Speaker 4: if you said rattle, if you said, like, anything with
- 12:18Speaker 4: a cobra, slither or whatever, anything after that was gibberish.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Right. It was nonsense.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Did you please tell me, like, one time you got
- 12:26Speaker 3: up there and went, just did the sound.
- 12:30Speaker 4: No, but I think that was, I think he would, like.
- 12:34Speaker 4: I'm trying to remember the hand signals. He would do
- 12:35Speaker 4: some hand signals. It was like he would do this
- 12:37Speaker 4: or like this or something. That was like a snake's
- 12:39Speaker 4: hand signal, and then it was like fake after that.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Then everything after that's just dead, yeah.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yeah. Until it's not. Yeah. Anyway.
- 12:52Speaker 3: We would have dummy stuff sometimes, and then we had
- 12:55Speaker 3: some stuff that meant like no play no matter what
- 12:57Speaker 3: I say, no matter what I do, no matter how.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Many times I say HUD.
- 13:00Speaker 3: If I've said this, it does not matter.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 13:03Speaker 3: And so a play wouldn't be called. And, of course,
- 13:04Speaker 3: somebody would jump off sides. And Peyton would ask them, hey,
- 13:07Speaker 3: what play were you going to run in that situation
- 13:11Speaker 3: with nothing called?
- 13:13Speaker 2: It was so fun.
- 13:13Speaker 4: So that was my job in the games as Aaron's
- 13:16Speaker 4: backup for many years was to steal signals. And I
- 13:20Speaker 4: got good enough at it to where they gave me
- 13:22Speaker 4: a live headset where I could talk to the coaches.
- 13:26Speaker 4: And so there were certain teams that. I had a
- 13:28Speaker 4: book of signals on them. So I would learn it,
- 13:31Speaker 4: and I would remember it. I'd write it down in
- 13:33Speaker 4: a notebook. There were certain teams that were good at it.
- 13:35Speaker 4: And even with the green dot, even with the defensive
- 13:38Speaker 4: coordinator speaking to the middle linebacker, if you go fast enough,
- 13:43Speaker 4: sometimes the linebacker would speak to the line and the linebackers.
- 13:46Speaker 4: But the DB coach, the corners aren't coming into huddle.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Safeties usually aren't. So the DB coach was the one
- 13:52Speaker 4: that would do a lot of signaling. So I would
- 13:54Speaker 4: watch him. The Detroit Lions, they had the same defensive
- 13:58Speaker 4: back coach for years.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Yeah. And I had his signals.
- 14:02Speaker 4: I bet he hated you. And he didn't know it
- 14:06Speaker 4: for a couple of years. But it was like I'd
- 14:08Speaker 4: see a signal, and I'd be like, Mike, cover three.
- 14:12Speaker 4: I'd see a signal, hey, Mike, cover four. And then
- 14:14Speaker 4: sometimes it would be like, hey, Mike, cover four. And
- 14:17Speaker 4: then he had already called the play, and then I'd
- 14:19Speaker 4: say cover four. And he'd be like, Aaron, scratch that,
- 14:21Speaker 4: scratch that. We're going to do this play instead. Jordy Nelson,
- 14:24Speaker 4: 70-yard touchdown.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Or I was like, hey, Mike. Hold up. Wait a minute.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Mike, strong pressure, strong pressure. Mike, weak pressure, corner coming,
- 14:33Speaker 4: whatever it was. And no, it wasn't like that for
- 14:35Speaker 4: all the teams.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but if you had a book of them.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I remember we played the Falcons one time, and they
- 14:40Speaker 4: were late. The DBs, the corners and the safeties would
- 14:43Speaker 4: signal the coverage.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:45Speaker 4: And it was too late to tell Mike, so I would, like,
- 14:48Speaker 4: stand by the first down marker. And if Aaron was curious,
- 14:52Speaker 4: he would look at the first down marker, and I
- 14:55Speaker 4: would be there, and I would signal to him what
- 14:56Speaker 4: the coverage could be.
- 14:58Speaker 2: And maybe he doesn't want to know in a certain place.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Yeah, because sometimes you get got. So you have to
- 15:04Speaker 4: be really sure. And if you tell him the wrong
- 15:06Speaker 4: coverage and it ends up not being the coverage, it's
- 15:09Speaker 4: a bad situation.
- 15:10Speaker 3: I don't know if you know this. There's a difference
- 15:12Speaker 3: in coverages.
- 15:13Speaker 2: There is a difference in coverages. That is smart.
- 15:15Speaker 4: But we play, when I was in Seattle my first year,
- 15:18Speaker 4: after I'd lost a starting battle, Russell Wilson was playing.
- 15:22Speaker 4: We were playing in Detroit, and I go to the sidelines,
- 15:27Speaker 4: and I'm sitting there on the sideline, and I'm watching.
- 15:29Speaker 4: I'm like, man, I wonder if they got the same signals.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Yeah. First drive.
- 15:34Speaker 4: I'm not recognizing the signals, and I'm like, this is different.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Same DB coach.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Right. I'm not recognizing the signals.
- 15:41Speaker 4: And he's doing different ones, and it's like, He signaled
- 15:45Speaker 4: something that I thought might have been cover four.
- 15:48Speaker 2: It was cover three. Right. And then he comes out.
- 15:50Speaker 2: He does that. And he looks at me at the
- 15:55Speaker 2: end of the drive. Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 4: And, like, the play callers are on one side of
- 15:58Speaker 4: the field. I'm on the other because I'm watching.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Right.
- 16:01Speaker 4: He looks at me, finds me, and he points at me.
- 16:03Speaker 4: And he goes like this. He goes, uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh.
- 16:07Speaker 2: He wags his finger. Does the Mutombo like the, uh-uh, no, no, no,
- 16:11Speaker 2: not today.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 16:12Speaker 4: You're not going to get my signals today. So they
- 16:14Speaker 4: had changed them for one drive. The next drive.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Same signals.
- 16:19Speaker 3: They went right back to it?
- 16:19Speaker 2: They went back to it. And do you think I
- 16:23Speaker 2: told Russell? No, not at all. You're on your own there, Russ.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Be dangerous.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Let Russ cook. Get the experience. Let Russ cook. Mr. Unlimited. No,
- 16:36Speaker 2: they wouldn't have let me signal. They wouldn't have let
- 16:38Speaker 2: me chime in. No, he didn't need that info. He
- 16:41Speaker 2: didn't need that. Didn't need it.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Didn't need it.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Anyhow. Russ. No, no, no. That's so good. That was good.
- 16:51Speaker 2: All right.
- 16:52Speaker 3: We will step away and take a break here. Continue
- 16:55Speaker 3: breaking down a little Clemson LSU. Again, the slate's not
- 16:58Speaker 3: the sexiest of slates, but there is other games, including
- 17:01Speaker 3: that Ole Miss and Louisville game that I do want
- 17:03Speaker 3: to spend just a couple minutes So we'll have that
- 17:06Speaker 3: coming back for you as well. Stay locked in here
- 17:08Speaker 3: to OTB live from the garage. Off the bench. All right,
- 17:16Speaker 3: go see our friends over at Trash Rangers. TrashRangers.com is
- 17:21Speaker 3: the website. Now, you know, they've got three different sizes
- 17:25Speaker 3: of roll-off dumpsters to choose from. You give them a call,
- 17:28Speaker 3: let them know what's going on on your project at
- 17:30Speaker 3: your house. I'm sure Flynn did this as well. Hey,
- 17:33Speaker 3: here's what we're expecting. All right, and they're going to say, okay, well,
- 17:35Speaker 3: that's what you're expecting. Here's what the size roll-off dumpster.
- 17:38Speaker 2: That you need.
- 17:39Speaker 3: But maybe, just maybe, you undersold it a little bit.
- 17:42Speaker 3: And you're like, hey, this thing's a little full.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Well, that's okay. They'll come. They'll pick it up.
- 17:45Speaker 3: They'll drop the trash off. They'll bring the dumpster back
- 17:48Speaker 3: to you. An incredible service they have over at Trash Rangers. TrashRangers.com.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Yeah, the customer service truly is unmatched when it comes
- 17:54Speaker 4: to the trash remover service. You talk to them commercially, residentially.
- 17:58Speaker 4: If you place a business, you call them, talk to
- 18:00Speaker 4: them about your business, how much trash you make. They'll
- 18:02Speaker 4: customize that pickup schedule. Maybe it's once a week, twice
- 18:05Speaker 4: a week. Maybe it's six times a week. It doesn't
- 18:07Speaker 4: really matter. They'll customize it. You know that I've been
- 18:09Speaker 4: using those roll-off dumpsters for our special project that we
- 18:12Speaker 4: got going on at the house. Flat rate price and $ 3, 000
- 18:14Speaker 4: to choose from.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Go check them out. TrashRangers.com.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Welcome back to Off the Bench. Wednesday's show is brought
- 18:26Speaker 1: to you by Poncho.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Dang it. Just about to get there, Matt.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Well, I do anything, everything. This is like R &
- 18:50Speaker 2: B edging. It's okay.
- 18:54Speaker 3: I'll just listen to it in the car. Won't be
- 18:56Speaker 3: the same. I'm sharing it with my closest friends here.
- 18:59Speaker 4: If you're wondering what we're talking about, when we're on
- 19:01Speaker 4: remote like this, the music just cuts off.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I know it doesn't for y'all, but for us, it
- 19:06Speaker 2: just cuts off. It just cuts off.
- 19:08Speaker 3: You know who will never cut you off? They'll always
- 19:10Speaker 3: be there for you.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Rouse's. Oh, no.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Go to rouse's.com.
- 19:13Speaker 2: As much groceries as you want.
- 19:14Speaker 3: All the groceries.
- 19:15Speaker 2: All the hydration. They've got it there. It might cut
- 19:18Speaker 2: you off if we eat all that breakfast bar.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Breakfast bar coming up on Friday. A little football Friday.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Sushi bar.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Lunch bar.
- 19:29Speaker 3: We mentioned the breakfast bar, if it's still available after
- 19:31Speaker 3: we crash it.
- 19:31Speaker 2: They got the cold cuts. They got the hot bar.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Salad bar.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Hot bar. Yeah, hot bar. Sometimes they got that seafood,
- 19:38Speaker 2: that boiled seafood. Oh, they do.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Certainly during the season. Pre-made meals, that's pretty convenient.
- 19:43Speaker 2: You got the walk-in beer fridge. That doesn't suck. Aged beef.
- 19:49Speaker 2: They've got.
- 19:50Speaker 3: all your tailgating needs. And remember, when you're tailgating, you
- 19:53Speaker 3: also need to be what?
- 19:55Speaker 2: Hydrated, I would say. Hydrated, yes. Drink my high. Drink
- 19:58Speaker 2: my high. Drink my high.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Always and forever.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Go to Roustles.com.
- 20:01Speaker 3: We're going to be there football Friday, doing the show,
- 20:03Speaker 3: Burbank and Lee. Come join us.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Come hang out.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Hey, last year, people kept bringing us cards. If you
- 20:09Speaker 3: want to do that, too, we're down.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Absolutely. We're down. Keep bringing us cards. We enjoyed that
- 20:13Speaker 2: as well. Go to rouses.com.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Yeah, you know Rouses holds a special place in my heart.
- 20:16Speaker 4: They gave us our first opportunity in the retail space
- 20:19Speaker 4: of my heart. So, special place in my heart.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Oh, was it?
- 20:22Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Went to doing business with them for, shoot, five years,
- 20:25Speaker 4: six years. It's been great. Great partnership.
- 20:29Speaker 3: You tricked them. Yeah.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Did. Got them. You got them. Got them. All right.
- 20:34Speaker 2: All right.
- 20:35Speaker 3: There's no surprise here on this report. But, you know,
- 20:40Speaker 3: we haven't, for our show, like we're trying to get
- 20:44Speaker 3: to Saturday night, Death Valley. And today we started the
- 20:47Speaker 3: show talking about the actual individual matchups, the offense, defense, whatever,
- 20:51Speaker 3: about Clemson LSU. But, you know, there is a big, obviously,
- 20:55Speaker 3: decision coming down tomorrow. But it was just reported by ON3,
- 20:59Speaker 3: which we already know this, but people seem to forget
- 21:01Speaker 3: it because it's just LSU.
- 21:02Speaker 2: In everybody's mind.
- 21:04Speaker 3: On3 reports several SEC programs are looking at adding former
- 21:08Speaker 3: NFL players to their rosters before games this week. But wait.
- 21:12Speaker 2: What? Hold up. No way.
- 21:14Speaker 3: I was told that this was only LSU and only Lane.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Wasn't it 15 of the 16 SEC schools?
- 21:22Speaker 2: Unanimous. Unanimous voted. That's unbelievable. We decided not to vote. Yeah.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I guess everybody should have abstained.
- 21:30Speaker 3: So if multiple teams go down this road, what does
- 21:32Speaker 3: that mean for the SEC's battle with our fighting Tigers?
- 21:35Speaker 2: I think they're going to kick everybody out of the SEC.
- 21:38Speaker 3: And the one thing that I don't like. The SEC
- 21:42Speaker 3: and Vandy. I want, like, full disclosure here. Y'all know
- 21:45Speaker 3: how I feel about pros coming back. The thing that
- 21:48Speaker 3: I was, honestly, number one on my sheet was that
- 21:50Speaker 3: anybody gets cut from a program, I was not about
- 21:52Speaker 3: that life because working to get to the season is
- 21:55Speaker 3: one of the hardest things that you'll do in life
- 21:58Speaker 3: in college football. More than anything I've done, that nine-month grind,
- 22:03Speaker 3: incredibly difficult. But, like, even Steve Sarkeesian came out yesterday
- 22:07Speaker 3: and basically called it despicable, right? I mean, and just
- 22:11Speaker 3: threw so much shade at somebody that's a friend of his,
- 22:14Speaker 3: like him and Lane Kiffin. They've worked together multiple times.
- 22:19Speaker 3: And they have somebody that's been in NFL camps. Now,
- 22:21Speaker 3: he's like, yeah, but he was at Texas last year.
- 22:23Speaker 3: That part doesn't matter to me. That part means nothing
- 22:26Speaker 3: to me. He was in two camps. He's like, well,
- 22:29Speaker 3: his minicamp's not training camp. Just because he wasn't good
- 22:31Speaker 3: enough to get to training camp doesn't mean he wasn't
- 22:34Speaker 3: a pro. He had on a pro uniform.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Everybody trying to make all these fine line distinctions between minicamp.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Training camp. Give me a break. Give it a rest, dude.
- 22:46Speaker 2: You're a pro. Yeah. I mean, in my eyes, there's.
- 22:54Speaker 3: To at least come out so against it when you
- 22:56Speaker 3: have somebody on your roster... that had on a Dallas
- 22:59Speaker 3: Cowboy helmet in May. Right.
- 23:03Speaker 2: For sure.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Call it despicable. You think Sarkeesian texted Lane afterwards, he's like, hey, gotcha.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Wait till you see what I called you, dummy.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Maybe. Oh, yeah.
- 23:17Speaker 4: They still got the group text has been hot. The
- 23:21Speaker 4: SEC head coach's group text has been, On fire.
- 23:25Speaker 2: I bet my man Eli Drinkwich, too, is just stirring.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Do you think Eli, if you had to, I don't
- 23:31Speaker 4: know if I posed this question before. On the SEC
- 23:34Speaker 4: head coaches group chat, which coach is more likely to
- 23:37Speaker 4: have an Android?
- 23:39Speaker 2: Turn the chat green. Ooh, of all the coaches? Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Maybe Kirby. I would have said Sam Pittman last year.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Is Kirby the longest tenured? Yes, not even close. Maybe. Yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 2: it's not even close, right? It might be. It might
- 23:54Speaker 2: be Kirby just because of the unk situation.
- 23:58Speaker 3: That's a good question.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Thank you. I don't want to just give this any
- 24:04Speaker 2: kind of answer either. Yeah, we can breathe on it
- 24:06Speaker 2: a little bit. We can breathe on it really.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Drink, to me, was an easy answer because he's kind
- 24:11Speaker 4: of the nerdy a little bit. And I think a
- 24:12Speaker 4: lot of the nerdy people go to Androids who's like,
- 24:14Speaker 4: it's a better software. The software's better. The camera's a
- 24:17Speaker 4: little bit better.
- 24:18Speaker 3: I think you're right, though.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Yeah. And y'all know me. Y'all know I love my.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Guy, Drink.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Microsoft is an elite product for the office and doing
- 24:25Speaker 2: nerd stuff. Yeah, people with Androids do say stuff like that.
- 24:28Speaker 2: They do say.
- 24:28Speaker 3: All I know is you just effed up the group chat.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 4: I don't really care about the software, the processing stuff.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Maybe a pixel here on the camera or two or whatever.
- 24:39Speaker 4: I don't care about that. I care about my life
- 24:42Speaker 4: and how it functions. And you are ruining it.
- 24:45Speaker 2: You are ruining this group text. Yep. I'm with you.
- 24:50Speaker 2: So drink. Probably because of the nerd stuff. Yeah. Final answer.
- 24:56Speaker 2: And if you're sitting there at home and be like, oh,
- 24:58Speaker 2: androids are better. Well, sorry to say it. Nerd alert.
- 25:05Speaker 2: There is somebody screaming.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Right at you right now.
- 25:09Speaker 2: It is. It's a better processor. There's no doubt.
- 25:13Speaker 3: So we'll see if other SEC teams that unanimously voted
- 25:17Speaker 3: against this and talked about it a lot for the
- 25:20Speaker 3: last two weeks, if they do, in fact, add these players.
- 25:24Speaker 3: It wouldn't shock me at all if half the league
- 25:27Speaker 3: adds a former NFL player.
- 25:29Speaker 2: No. Wouldn't shock me one bit.
- 25:30Speaker 3: And then they're going to use the excuse, well, I mean,
- 25:33Speaker 3: LSU was doing it, so if they were going to
- 25:35Speaker 3: do it, we don't agree with it, but we've got
- 25:37Speaker 3: to keep up with them because if they're adding those
- 25:39Speaker 3: two players, we feel like we've got to add some.
- 25:42Speaker 3: There's no doubt in my mind that's how it's going
- 25:44Speaker 3: to be portrayed.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:46Speaker 3: And again, Lane doesn't care.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Not one bit.
- 25:52Speaker 4: And when all these conferences came out and made their
- 25:55Speaker 4: statement like, you know, we've all agreed that no professional
- 25:58Speaker 4: players on our teams, whatever. You going to tell me
- 26:04Speaker 4: not one of these dudes is going to play in
- 26:05Speaker 4: the Big Ten?
- 26:07Speaker 3: Well, the Big Ten's trying to, like, use the minicamp
- 26:10Speaker 3: training camp argument.
- 26:11Speaker 2: That's what they're trying to do?
- 26:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 2: That's a dumb argument.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:16Speaker 2: For a rookie player, I think it is. You know
- 26:18Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 26:20Speaker 3: Like, sure, like, if we're talking about a veteran player,
- 26:21Speaker 3: like a veteran doesn't get, like, an accredited season for, like,
- 26:24Speaker 3: just going to minicamp or whatever. Sure. A lot of
- 26:26Speaker 3: times you'll go and you'll just sign a waiver. But, like,
- 26:29Speaker 3: if you're a rookie, like you've been in these training
- 26:31Speaker 3: camps and you've been in multiple, then I'm still putting
- 26:33Speaker 3: you in the same category as me.
- 26:35Speaker 2: He didn't get three and a half games in.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 26:37Speaker 2: He didn't get credited season. What's that next?
- 26:39Speaker 3: Our whole argument has been there were things that we
- 26:41Speaker 3: learned being around a program for a mini camp, an
- 26:45Speaker 3: OT or whatever, that we wish we could use in a.
- 26:47Speaker 2: College football game.
- 26:49Speaker 4: And I think the whole underlying issue, and, you know,
- 26:53Speaker 4: while maybe we or maybe– I don't even want to
- 26:56Speaker 4: put you into the category that I've been in on
- 26:59Speaker 4: my opinions, kind of against all this, and maybe not
- 27:02Speaker 4: as the most popular opinion in the LSU circles. I'm
- 27:08Speaker 4: more hesitant just because I don't see where any of
- 27:14Speaker 4: this ends.
- 27:15Speaker 2: We've talked about that. Where does it stop?
- 27:19Speaker 4: It's easy to say now that it does stop with
- 27:22Speaker 4: the 2022 class.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Easy to say that. Right now.
- 27:26Speaker 4: But next year, there's going to be a special circumstance
- 27:29Speaker 4: that you try to go push the legal limit for
- 27:32Speaker 4: as well. And I just hope that it's not always like,
- 27:36Speaker 4: I just hope in the public eye, and not that
- 27:38Speaker 4: I care that much, but I want LSU to be
- 27:42Speaker 4: respected and revered. That's my hope for my alma mater,
- 27:47Speaker 4: is that we are respected, we are feared, and revered.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Like, people.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Respect the way we do. And that's my hope. But
- 27:55Speaker 4: I don't really care if we play the villain. That's
- 27:58Speaker 4: fine with me as well. Just like.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Don't always have to be the first.
- 28:05Speaker 3: I mean, I do somewhat hear what you're saying now.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I care about LSU over everything.
- 28:09Speaker 3: It's like if we're the villain and that's what it's
- 28:11Speaker 3: got to be, then I'll step in line. Let's be
- 28:13Speaker 3: the villain. I don't care about that. I literally only
- 28:16Speaker 3: care about the three letters that say LSU and not
- 28:19Speaker 3: even the SEC. And I love Commissioner Sankey. I've had
- 28:22Speaker 3: great conversations with him. I love the league office.
- 28:23Speaker 2: They've been great to me.
- 28:25Speaker 3: But at the end of the day, I love LSU
- 28:26Speaker 3: and I don't really care. But I do understand what
- 28:29Speaker 3: you're saying.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. About, like, you wanted to be. Oh, I care
- 28:31Speaker 2: about it. I mean, obviously I care.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Deeply.
- 28:38Speaker 4: And I think you can do both. I think you
- 28:41Speaker 4: can do both.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Get you somebody that can do both?
- 28:46Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Exactly. So we'll look once this happens tomorrow, and let's
- 28:54Speaker 3: just say that you see a bunch of guys popping
- 28:57Speaker 3: up on rosters. Also, don't think they just got there
- 29:00Speaker 3: that day. Don't believe that. Don't believe that the court
- 29:07Speaker 3: situation goes in the way of the players. Oh, man,
- 29:09Speaker 3: all of a sudden this guy, he called us right after,
- 29:11Speaker 3: and we flew him here. He got here like in
- 29:13Speaker 3: three minutes. Don't believe that. There's guys on campuses right
- 29:18Speaker 3: now that are waiting, and as soon as they get
- 29:20Speaker 3: the green light, They're going to be in that uniform
- 29:22Speaker 3: with that helmet on. So we'll see. Tomorrow's a big day. Honestly,
- 29:27Speaker 3: it's not even a big day because I don't know
- 29:29Speaker 3: that LSU is going to use the two players in
- 29:30Speaker 3: the game on Saturday against Clemson.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Actually, I don't think they're going to, right?
- 29:36Speaker 3: I say a big day because then the rosters will
- 29:39Speaker 3: add those players. Those players will be on campus. Well,
- 29:42Speaker 3: they're already on campus, but they'll be in the facility
- 29:44Speaker 3: at practice going through the whole deal, and that's going
- 29:48Speaker 3: to be interesting to see who, after a week of
- 29:51Speaker 3: hating on LSU, who adds players through this process. And again,
- 29:56Speaker 3: they're going to blame LSU for doing it.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Well, we've got to do it.
- 29:58Speaker 3: That's going to be the narrative, whatever, sure, if.
- 30:01Speaker 2: We're going to be the first.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Hey, credit to On3 for tweeting that out, posting that message,
- 30:07Speaker 4: because it is factual that LSU's not the only one.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Now it's somebody outside of LSU people saying that finally.
- 30:14Speaker 4: And hopefully more comes out on this. Louisiana had, what,
- 30:18Speaker 4: the third most plaintiffs of any state out there?
- 30:20Speaker 2: Yeah, California was one, right? California, Texas, and LSU. Or Louisiana.
- 30:25Speaker 2: You said it right. I mean, not a big deal.
- 30:27Speaker 2: We are. We are. LSU. Just different. You did. One
- 30:31Speaker 2: point I want to make before we take a break here.
- 30:33Speaker 3: A lot of, like, friends of mine, colleagues in this
- 30:37Speaker 3: space have kind of said.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Don't freak out. Don't worry.
- 30:41Speaker 3: It's only for this year. It's only for this year.
- 30:43Speaker 3: It's only for this year. Just keep going back to it.
- 30:44Speaker 3: It's only this class. It's only this handful of players.
- 30:46Speaker 3: That sounds great right now as we sit here on
- 30:48Speaker 3: September the 2nd.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Sounds great to try to smooth this over. But here's
- 30:51Speaker 2: the deal.
- 30:52Speaker 3: I think you're being close-minded to the fact that we've
- 30:54Speaker 3: said that about 97 different things. And it's been opened
- 30:57Speaker 3: up with 97 different court cases. And that's the issue
- 31:01Speaker 3: because there's going to be some group. There's going to
- 31:02Speaker 3: be somebody that says we were wronged. We weren't given
- 31:05Speaker 3: the opportunity. And instead of us saying, Hey, sorry, you
- 31:08Speaker 3: got bad luck. Like us not being able to have NIL,
- 31:11Speaker 3: you know, years down the road. Hey man, wish we
- 31:14Speaker 3: could have, we didn't, that sucks called bad luck. They're
- 31:18Speaker 3: going to be like, no, you're right. You know, they
- 31:20Speaker 3: were wrong.
- 31:20Speaker 2: They were owed this.
- 31:21Speaker 3: And it's just going to keep on going down the road.
- 31:23Speaker 3: And again, There's somebody that's like, nope, can't do it, blah, blah, blah.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Here's this, this, this.
- 31:27Speaker 3: We've been here. We've danced to this song before. They
- 31:31Speaker 3: just keep moving it down the road. It's just the
- 31:34Speaker 3: goalposts keep moving and the different court cases and different
- 31:37Speaker 3: groups and different. Well, actually, if you look at it technically,
- 31:41Speaker 3: we should have been in that class too because I
- 31:44Speaker 3: hurt my knee in game number two and then I
- 31:46Speaker 3: didn't come back until game number eight and that's like
- 31:47Speaker 3: a majority of the season. We've just seen this too
- 31:50Speaker 3: many times. For me to believe right now on September
- 31:53Speaker 3: the 2nd, That this is truly going to.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Be the only one. College sports is not done.
- 31:56Speaker 4: No. We are in the middle of an industrial revolution
- 32:00Speaker 4: type speed of change.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:03Speaker 4: And it's a, you don't know where it ends and
- 32:06Speaker 4: we'll see, but you know what? I'm going to have
- 32:09Speaker 4: my purple and yellow shoes on, on Saturday. I might
- 32:12Speaker 4: have these joggers. I'm going to have my LSU poncho
- 32:15Speaker 4: shirt on. I'm going to have my LSU hat on.
- 32:17Speaker 4: And I'm going to tell the children to earmuffs a lot.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yep. Because daddy's going to be watching football.
- 32:25Speaker 3: I think I might call the game in this poncho.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Should I go purple or white?
- 32:30Speaker 2: Purple, I think. Team's white. Team's white. Okay. I'll go purple.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Okay.
- 32:34Speaker 2: W-H-I-T. I feel like that will bring... You got the spirit? Yes,
- 32:40Speaker 2: you do. I got the spirit. How about you? Nailed it.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 32:45Speaker 3: More OTB when we come back here live from the garage.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Off the Bench.
- 32:52Speaker 3: All right, go see our friends over at Gulf Coast
- 32:53Speaker 3: Office Products. GCOPnet.com is the website for locations here in Louisiana.
- 33:00Speaker 3: But don't mistake them having only Louisiana locations like there's
- 33:04Speaker 3: some mom and pop. That is not the case. Now,
- 33:07Speaker 3: they've got mom and pop customer service, and I mean
- 33:09Speaker 3: that in the best way possible because the person you
- 33:11Speaker 3: call is the person that's going to fix whatever issue,
- 33:14Speaker 3: whatever question you might have. That's the best part about it.
- 33:17Speaker 3: They've got that with all the bells and whistles. Any
- 33:20Speaker 3: equipment that you need, they've got it. Anything that's new
- 33:24Speaker 3: on the breaking technology, breaking edge, ground floor, they've got
- 33:29Speaker 3: all that. But they've also got it with, hey, the
- 33:31Speaker 3: person I call is going to be the person that
- 33:33Speaker 3: helps me. It's really what sets them apart. It's why
- 33:35Speaker 3: the Pelicans, the Saints, the Tigers, the Raging Cajuns. All
- 33:38Speaker 3: trust Gulf Coast Office Products, GCOPnet.com.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Gulf Coast Office, probably Trey Beal and his team. They've
- 33:44Speaker 4: been doing it a long time, and they are the
- 33:45Speaker 4: experts for offices in Louisiana. We're talking about copier, printer technology.
- 33:52Speaker 4: They got the best tech, and guess what? They got
- 33:53Speaker 4: the best tech service team as well. So if something
- 33:55Speaker 4: goes wrong in the office, they'll have people out there
- 33:57Speaker 4: to get you fixed up and get you back up
- 33:59Speaker 4: and running in no time. Gulf Coast Office Products, GCOPnet.com.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Welcome back to Off the Bench. Wednesday's show is brought
- 34:30Speaker 1: to you by Poncho. Yep.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Yep. Edge. Yep. Well done, Laundra. Playing hits today. Doing
- 35:01Speaker 2: a great job. We appreciate you.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Um, we've talked about LSU Clemson, obviously throughout the week
- 35:06Speaker 3: and certainly tomorrow, Friday, we'll dive more and more into
- 35:10Speaker 3: the matchup.
- 35:11Speaker 2: It is the only ranked on rank game.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Now Clemson's not even ranked in both polls, just one
- 35:16Speaker 3: poll outside of Louisville and Ole Miss. Now that is
- 35:20Speaker 3: a game that I am highly intrigued with and not
- 35:22Speaker 3: just because the Ole Miss and the Lane Kiffin, sure
- 35:25Speaker 3: that plays into it, but I think the Brahms are
- 35:28Speaker 3: really good football coaches. I think Jeff Braum is a
- 35:31Speaker 3: heck of a coach and I, I think Ole Miss
- 35:35Speaker 3: has got to be ready for that game. Ole Miss
- 35:38Speaker 3: is going to have– you know, Pete's been there as
- 35:40Speaker 3: a defense coordinator.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Now he's in a new role. But they've got a
- 35:41Speaker 2: lot of new there.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Are they talented? Absolutely. Do they have maybe the best
- 35:45Speaker 3: quarterback in the country?
- 35:46Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 35:47Speaker 3: But that's going to be, in my opinion, that's going
- 35:50Speaker 3: to be a four-quarter game, and it is not going
- 35:52Speaker 3: to be one where either team just pulls away.
- 35:55Speaker 4: And look, in all the outside noise that LSU's had
- 35:57Speaker 4: this offseason and leading up to the season, there's probably
- 36:00Speaker 4: more internal noise at Ole Miss just because– That's the
- 36:04Speaker 4: team that Lane came from.
- 36:06Speaker 2: There's a lot of questions. There's a lot of new there.
- 36:09Speaker 4: There's probably a lot of, a lot more, there's a
- 36:12Speaker 4: lot more emotions probably there than there is at LSU.
- 36:17Speaker 4: Just internally within that building. So, you know, I think
- 36:22Speaker 4: it's easy for, easier for, that's been.
- 36:25Speaker 2: A big thing.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Like everybody's got to focus. Everyone's wanting to get to
- 36:28Speaker 4: week three because that's LSU Ole Miss. Can they focus
- 36:31Speaker 4: on the task at hand? It's easier for LSU to
- 36:34Speaker 4: focus on Clemson because nobody was, like, emotional about that
- 36:38Speaker 4: move or that decision. Ole Miss, they are emotional about
- 36:41Speaker 4: it because that's who he broke up with.
- 36:45Speaker 2: That's who he left. Right?
- 36:46Speaker 4: So have they been able to– how good is Pete
- 36:50Speaker 4: Golden and his staff? We like Pete Golden. He's great
- 36:53Speaker 4: to listen to. I'm sure you said he's a great interviewer.
- 36:55Speaker 4: He seems like an awesome guy to go have a
- 36:57Speaker 4: beer with.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Oh.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Ice cold Dos Equis would be great with. And so
- 37:01Speaker 4: I think we really like him. But how good of
- 37:03Speaker 4: a job. It's his first test as a full-time head coach.
- 37:07Speaker 4: So we'll see if they've been able to silence the
- 37:11Speaker 4: noise because, man, they do. They got a good team
- 37:14Speaker 4: that they are about to play. And they got a
- 37:16Speaker 4: team that preseason ranked in the ACC ahead of Clemson.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Isn't that right? Didn't they say they were ranked to
- 37:24Speaker 2: finish third in the ACC?
- 37:25Speaker 3: They were either second or third.
- 37:27Speaker 4: And Clemson was picked to finish fourth. So technically, if
- 37:31Speaker 4: you're basing just off that, they are going to have
- 37:35Speaker 4: a tougher opponent than LSU does this Saturday.
- 37:39Speaker 2: It's going to be a neutral site game, too.
- 37:42Speaker 4: There's no home field advantage. So I would say they
- 37:46Speaker 4: are going to, on paper at least, leading up. And again,
- 37:48Speaker 4: this is preseason. We don't know any of these teams.
- 37:51Speaker 4: We think LSU is going to be good because of
- 37:53Speaker 4: the change. But there's a lot of change at LSU, too.
- 37:56Speaker 4: It wouldn't surprise me if we were really, really good.
- 37:59Speaker 4: But it wouldn't surprise me if there's some hiccups. You
- 38:03Speaker 4: know what I mean? But based on all that, it
- 38:06Speaker 4: does look like, based on the ACC.
- 38:11Speaker 4: Preseason rankings for the ACC. It does feel like Louisville
- 38:14Speaker 4: might be a little tougher task.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm trying to.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I hope they beat Ole Miss. That'd be fun.
- 38:19Speaker 3: I mean, you know, their offense, I'm talking about Louisville here,
- 38:23Speaker 3: I mean, it's all brand new. Like, every piece of it. Like,
- 38:26Speaker 3: on defense, they have five transfers that are going to
- 38:29Speaker 3: be starters now. On offense, they've got eight. They've got
- 38:34Speaker 3: eight guys that are going to be starting. But veteran guys,
- 38:37Speaker 3: guys that have been forged in the fire of college football,
- 38:41Speaker 3: but the player to watch, if you're watching that game
- 38:44Speaker 3: on Sunday night, Isaac Brown, the running back for Louisville,
- 38:47Speaker 3: is a dog. He is a stud. Watch him play.
- 38:51Speaker 3: He's going to be very intriguing there for the Cardinals
- 38:54Speaker 3: in that game.
- 38:55Speaker 2: It's going to be a good game.
- 38:56Speaker 3: If Ole Miss wins, nobody should be surprised. They are
- 38:59Speaker 3: a good team. They've got a great quarterback. We all
- 39:02Speaker 3: know that, but I do expect that to be a
- 39:04Speaker 3: battle with both teams having a chance and an opportunity
- 39:06Speaker 3: to in the fourth quarter look LSU's game could be
- 39:09Speaker 3: like that they're like we don't know it's a 10
- 39:11Speaker 3: point spread this is a seven point spread but there's
- 39:14Speaker 3: a lot to find out about these teams but do
- 39:16Speaker 3: not if you're an Ole Miss fan and you hate
- 39:18Speaker 3: watching this show do not take Louisville lightly because they
- 39:22Speaker 3: can sneak.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Up actually you know what I hope that Louisville doesn't
- 39:24Speaker 4: beat you because I'd like to be the big one.
- 39:28Speaker 2: I would like for us to break your heart a
- 39:30Speaker 2: little bit more.
- 39:31Speaker 3: Yeah, game day is going to be that one already.
- 39:32Speaker 4: I don't want your heart to be kind of broken
- 39:35Speaker 4: before that game.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I want to break it fully. And get behind that.
- 39:39Speaker 3: All right, if your back or spine pain is keeping
- 39:42Speaker 3: you from doing the things that you love, you don't
- 39:45Speaker 3: have to just live with it. And it doesn't always
- 39:48Speaker 3: mean surgery or long-term medication. And Ochsner Health specialists work
- 39:52Speaker 3: to identify the source of your pain and build a
- 39:54Speaker 3: treatment plan around you. So from physical therapy and targeted
- 39:58Speaker 3: procedures to minimally invasive treatments and advanced spine care, the
- 40:03Speaker 3: goal is simple. It's to help you move better, feel better,
- 40:06Speaker 3: and get back to living your life. You can learn
- 40:08Speaker 3: more or schedule an appointment at Ochsner.org. Ochsner.org. I hope
- 40:13Speaker 3: Matt Flynn's listening to this because he's old and has
- 40:16Speaker 3: a bad back.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Well, you got a hurt shoulder. So, yeah, I'll be there. No,
- 40:19Speaker 2: I got a old shoulder.
- 40:21Speaker 3: It's not hurt.
- 40:22Speaker 2: It's I'm old.
- 40:23Speaker 3: I did a movement that I haven't done in a while,
- 40:25Speaker 3: and it's sore.
- 40:26Speaker 2: But, Jake, I don't have time to call and try
- 40:27Speaker 2: to make an appointment.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Don't have to.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Huh? That's you walking in the door.
- 40:31Speaker 3: What?
- 40:32Speaker 2: Yep. Just a walk-in.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Go to the one by Elite Training Academy. It's right
- 40:35Speaker 3: next door. You're looking at the indoor. It's to the left.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Huh.
- 40:38Speaker 3: Full orthopedic clinic.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Holy cow. Not a big deal.
- 40:41Speaker 3: It's actually a huge deal.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Huge.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Outside of the games that we've talked about, those two games,
- 40:49Speaker 3: there's not a huge one.
- 40:50Speaker 2: There's not a huge one.
- 40:51Speaker 3: There's not going to be a big one, which, gosh,
- 40:54Speaker 3: I wish we had more of these. The first week
- 40:56Speaker 3: of the NFL has like four games that I am fired,
- 41:00Speaker 3: fired up for. And one of the ones is the
- 41:03Speaker 3: Saints and the Lions, which tomorrow we'll get more into that.
- 41:07Speaker 3: I know we talked a lot of Tyler Shuck earlier,
- 41:09Speaker 3: but we'll get into more of the Saints and the
- 41:10Speaker 3: Lions matchup. That is going to be a great test.
- 41:14Speaker 3: And I mean, I think a great one to see
- 41:15Speaker 3: exactly where the Saints are because you're going against a
- 41:18Speaker 3: veteran team in their stadium.
- 41:19Speaker 2: It's well coached.
- 41:20Speaker 3: It's super gritty. And you're going to see where you
- 41:23Speaker 3: are as a team early in the season. And we'll
- 41:25Speaker 3: do that more tomorrow coming up, kind of a full
- 41:28Speaker 3: breakdown of, well, I should say an initial breakdown. We
- 41:32Speaker 3: don't want to put the cart before the horse, but man,
- 41:34Speaker 3: if you can tell, we're fired up for the NFL tomorrow.
- 41:37Speaker 3: All right, we will step away. A little Ask the
- 41:39Speaker 3: Bench when we come back here live from the garage.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Cannonball. Cannonball.
- 41:51Speaker 3: Jackknife. Russell Poole's.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, the best.
- 41:54Speaker 3: RussellPoole.com. Russell Poole Company. Been in the game since the 1960s.
- 41:58Speaker 3: And we say all the time, the weather here is harsh.
- 42:01Speaker 3: It's harsh on everything. But if you have somebody that
- 42:03Speaker 3: knows that, they know exactly what to do when they're
- 42:05Speaker 3: building your pool. And that is always going to be
- 42:07Speaker 3: Russell Pool Company. They're going to make sure that your
- 42:10Speaker 3: pool stands the test of time. But look, if somebody
- 42:13Speaker 3: else built your pool and you want it to be upgraded,
- 42:16Speaker 3: a little Beyonce by Russell Pool Company, they can come
- 42:19Speaker 3: in and they can do that as well. So they
- 42:20Speaker 3: can get your pool up to standard. If you've got
- 42:23Speaker 3: a boring kidney-shaped pool, you don't have to have that.
- 42:25Speaker 3: Let Russell Pool Company come in and change your space.
- 42:28Speaker 2: That's right.
- 42:28Speaker 4: Renovations on your pool is something that not a lot
- 42:30Speaker 4: of people talk about because not a lot of people
- 42:32Speaker 4: are experts at it. You can't trust just anybody to
- 42:35Speaker 4: renovate a pool. If you bought a house with an
- 42:37Speaker 4: old pool and you want to upgrade it, you want
- 42:39Speaker 4: to change it, you want to modernize it, whatever, call
- 42:41Speaker 4: Russell Pools. Chris Anderson and his team are the experts.
- 42:44Speaker 4: Go to RussellPools.com. That's RussellPools.com.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Welcome back to Off the Bench. Wednesday's show is brought
- 42:53Speaker 1: to you by Poncho.
- 42:59Speaker 3: All right, welcome back here.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Off the Bench, closing out the show.
- 43:10Speaker 4: But before we do, I want to tell you about
- 43:11Speaker 4: our friends over at Catalyst. When you think about Louisiana,
- 43:13Speaker 4: you think about energy. And one company helping shape that
- 43:17Speaker 4: future is Catalyst. Cataract is developing the Commonwealth LNG export
- 43:20Speaker 4: facility in Cameron Parish, connecting American natural gas with customers
- 43:23Speaker 4: all over the world. But it's about more than just
- 43:26Speaker 4: exporting energy. It's about creating jobs here in Louisiana. It's
- 43:29Speaker 4: about supporting local businesses, strengthening communities, reinforcing Louisiana's position as
- 43:33Speaker 4: one of the world's leading energy hubs. Through its natural
- 43:36Speaker 4: gas production and the Commonwealth LNG project, Cataract is helping
- 43:39Speaker 4: build an integrated energy platform that connects domestic resources with
- 43:44Speaker 4: the growing global demand.
- 43:46Speaker 2: So as construction continues.
- 43:48Speaker 4: On Louisiana's Gulf Coast, Caterus is proud to invest in
- 43:51Speaker 4: American energy, American workers, and a stronger economic future. Caterus,
- 43:55Speaker 4: connecting Louisiana energy.
- 43:56Speaker 2: To the world. The whole world. The entire world? Worldwide.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Got you.
- 44:02Speaker 3: All right, a little ask the bench. Do you think
- 44:04Speaker 3: a lot of people really ask Drew Brees why he
- 44:05Speaker 3: partnered with Parrish? I guess in the commercial he says
- 44:09Speaker 3: a lot of people ask me why.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Yeah, all right. I don't know. Rock and roll.
- 44:13Speaker 3: I've seen the commercial because it's in the studio, but
- 44:14Speaker 3: I've never heard the actual commercial. Hashtag Ask the Bench.
- 44:21Speaker 3: Will there be a My High tailgate?
- 44:22Speaker 4: There won't be a My High specific tailgate, but feel
- 44:28Speaker 4: free to grab some My High and just pass it around.
- 44:32Speaker 2: You get some My High. That's the second time I've
- 44:34Speaker 2: said that in two days.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Yeah, a little Oprah situation.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Shout out.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Except he's going to make you pay for it.
- 44:39Speaker 2: We should do. You should do a tailgate.
- 44:42Speaker 3: A tailgate. You really need me and Alondra to take
- 44:45Speaker 3: over your marketing.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Big ideas. Huge. Huge.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Off topic, has anyone seen that Thundercats movie is in production?
- 44:57Speaker 3: I did not. I haven't seen the He-Man new movie
- 45:00Speaker 3: either yet, though. I was a huge He-Man fan growing up,
- 45:03Speaker 3: kind of in the same world, in my mind, growing
- 45:05Speaker 3: up cartoons. Oh.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Have not seen it. Have not seen it. No. Look
- 45:09Speaker 2: forward to it. Hashtag ask the bench.
- 45:10Speaker 4: Did y'all drag the sunken pontoon parlay out of the
- 45:13Speaker 4: bottom of the pond yet?
- 45:16Speaker 3: Not yet.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Wasn't a great one. Wasn't great.
- 45:18Speaker 4: But you don't want to start out hot. You don't
- 45:20Speaker 4: want to do it. You want to start out. It's
- 45:22Speaker 4: kind of like playing golf. You don't want to start
- 45:23Speaker 4: out with a birdie.
- 45:25Speaker 3: No.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Don't want to do that. That's a bad omen. This
- 45:28Speaker 2: one's for Cassie.
- 45:28Speaker 3: Cassie should have Chick-fil-A cater the wedding and get to
- 45:32Speaker 3: the premium select member status.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Yes.
- 45:35Speaker 3: Thumbs up from Cassie. That would be a good idea.
- 45:38Speaker 2: You get all the points.
- 45:39Speaker 3: You add it.
- 45:40Speaker 4: She didn't verbally say yes because she didn't want to
- 45:43Speaker 4: hear her voice played back.
- 45:46Speaker 2: And I get it.
- 45:52Speaker 3: OTB tailgate in the south lot across from the stadium.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Be there.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Who's doing this?
- 45:57Speaker 4: Hey, for real though, y'all get some eye eye. Walk
- 46:00Speaker 4: around with it. It's a good day drink or two.
- 46:02Speaker 4: Put a little vodka, a little soda water, about a
- 46:05Speaker 4: half a packet of my hide.
- 46:07Speaker 2: It'll last you two drinks. It's a walker. I call
- 46:09Speaker 2: it a walker. You can walk around all day with it. Hydrate.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Have fun. Cheer on the Tigers.
- 46:15Speaker 3: I'm going to do it when I'm up in the
- 46:16Speaker 3: broadcast booth. It makes me feel better.
- 46:18Speaker 2: You'll feel better as well. Go America. We love you.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 46:25Speaker 3: All right, are you feeling tired, sluggish, or just not
- 46:28Speaker 3: quite like yourself? Instead of guessing what's going on, get
- 46:31Speaker 3: some answers. Well, you don't feel like that, Matthew, because
