- 0:02Speaker 1: Life Audio.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Hey Lenna, thanks for joining me.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Thank you so much for having me. It's good to
- 0:08Speaker 1: see you.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Leanna Crawford Award winning artist as our guests. You have
- 0:12Speaker 3: a second album coming out in July the twenty sixth.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Thank God is the name of it.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I think it's even better than the first one, so
- 0:18Speaker 2: I think people are going to really enjoy it.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Second albums are not easy, Leanna. They always call them
- 0:24Speaker 3: sophomore projects. Tell me the story behind thank God. It
- 0:27Speaker 3: seems to be filled with lots of personal stories.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, thank you. That's so kind.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, still waters my first record, I feel
- 0:36Speaker 4: like it was like the culmination of kind of like
- 0:38Speaker 4: over the course of a few years. Actually, Like some
- 0:41Speaker 4: of the songs were even from when I first moved
- 0:44Speaker 4: to Nashville on the record, which is kind of crazy.
- 0:46Speaker 4: So like all the songs were like kind of written
- 0:48Speaker 4: over the span of a few years anyways, And it
- 0:51Speaker 4: was very much like a healing record for me, like
- 0:53Speaker 4: I really needed and I mean I need to write
- 0:56Speaker 4: all my songs like they're very much like I'm writing,
- 0:58Speaker 4: you know, my dre huntries these songs like I need them.
- 1:01Speaker 4: But thank God I feel like was written in a
- 1:03Speaker 4: more traditional timeline. So like when I finished The Waters,
- 1:07Speaker 4: I started to work on thank God, and I definitely
- 1:10Speaker 4: had like a vision for it kind of overall, but
- 1:14Speaker 4: it sort of took shape on its own.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Like I had a different title for it. I had
- 1:18Speaker 1: a different you know, almost.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Idea, and as I started to write these songs and
- 1:21Speaker 4: just like being in the writing room, I was like, actually,
- 1:23Speaker 4: I think this album is needs to be called thank God,
- 1:26Speaker 4: and it's just about almost looking back and being I mean,
- 1:30Speaker 4: like even the title track, thank God is like I'm
- 1:33Speaker 4: so thankful that, like God's in charge and I'm not.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I'm thankful that for all the.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Times that he said no, because I know he doesn't
- 1:40Speaker 4: waste anything, even if it doesn't always make sense to me,
- 1:42Speaker 4: Like I know his plan is so much better than mine.
- 1:44Speaker 4: And so yeah, I mean it was definitely like it was.
- 1:47Speaker 4: It was so fun to make this record, I think
- 1:49Speaker 4: just because it was like a little more It was
- 1:52Speaker 4: the first time I'd done like a little more traditional
- 1:54Speaker 4: like yeah, Okay, it's going to be written in this
- 1:56Speaker 4: amount of time and we kind of have a plan.
- 1:58Speaker 1: And it was really fun to make.
- 2:01Speaker 2: There are several personal uh, I think they're personal. It's
- 2:05Speaker 2: they sound personal. I listen to them matter about how
- 2:07Speaker 2: personal they are. A living Room Floor is one of
- 2:09Speaker 2: them that sounds really personal.
- 2:11Speaker 3: It paints a picture of someone in despair on the
- 2:13Speaker 3: floor crying out to God.
- 2:16Speaker 2: A second one is Ask Him Again. Those seem to
- 2:19Speaker 2: be similar themes thematically. Some of the inspiration behind those two,
- 2:23Speaker 2: those two songs.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, living room Floor is actually, as we were
- 2:28Speaker 4: writing it, kind of talking about the story of Mary
- 2:30Speaker 4: and Martha when Jesus came to hang out with them
- 2:35Speaker 4: for like the untually you know, not.
- 2:37Speaker 1: This is not how Scripture would say it, but like,
- 2:39Speaker 1: you know, Jesus is.
- 2:40Speaker 4: There and Martha is running around trying to get some done,
- 2:45Speaker 4: get ready for Gas and the disciples, and she's probably
- 2:48Speaker 4: cooking and cleaning all things. And then Mary is just
- 2:50Speaker 4: like sitting at the feet of Jesus. And with those
- 2:53Speaker 4: two sisters. I've always related to Martha more than Mary,
- 2:57Speaker 4: and Martha like calls out her sister Mary in front
- 3:00Speaker 4: of Jesus and she's like, hey, Jesus, like, you know,
- 3:02Speaker 4: why don't you tell Mary to come help me?
- 3:04Speaker 1: Like I'm trying to do all these good things.
- 3:06Speaker 4: I'm trying to get everything ready, and Jesus basically says,
- 3:09Speaker 4: like Mary has chosen the better thing by like sitting
- 3:11Speaker 4: at my feet. And it's really hard for me to
- 3:15Speaker 4: like think that way. I feel like because I feel
- 3:17Speaker 4: like I need to do all these things. I need
- 3:19Speaker 4: to do all these things and then I'll be enough
- 3:21Speaker 4: and then I can be loved and then I can
- 3:23Speaker 4: sit with Jesus. And it's like, no, he actually just
- 3:25Speaker 4: wants me. He just wants my presence. He just wants
- 3:27Speaker 4: me to sit with him. He doesn't care about my
- 3:29Speaker 4: to do list, he doesn't care about all these other
- 3:31Speaker 4: things I have to get done. And so it's very
- 3:33Speaker 4: opposite what I feel like is natural for me.
- 3:36Speaker 1: But that's why like.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Writing it, like I that song is very much like, Hey,
- 3:41Speaker 4: this is where I want to be.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I want to sit at the feet of Jesus.
- 3:44Speaker 4: And whether that's physically like in my living room floor
- 3:48Speaker 4: where I do a lot of my you know, DeVos
- 3:50Speaker 4: in prayer time, or if it's you know, out on
- 3:52Speaker 4: a prayer walk with Jesus, or if it's in my car,
- 3:54Speaker 4: but just like having a moment where it's just me
- 3:55Speaker 4: and him, there's no like nothing, you know, like I
- 4:00Speaker 4: can just come, and that's really hard for me to do,
- 4:02Speaker 4: to like just be like, Okay, I can just come
- 4:03Speaker 4: and he can love me just as I am. And
- 4:06Speaker 4: so that is very much why it feels very personal.
- 4:08Speaker 4: It's because it is it's very like I need that
- 4:10Speaker 4: song and I need to, you know, sing those words
- 4:12Speaker 4: and then ask him again. I read it last summer
- 4:16Speaker 4: and it was kind of at the end of a
- 4:18Speaker 4: week where we'd sort of had this mini writing camp
- 4:20Speaker 4: and I'm pretty sure, and I had all these different
- 4:22Speaker 4: writers come in and I just kind of shared my
- 4:26Speaker 4: kind of personally where I was at. And I had
- 4:29Speaker 4: been praying for this thing for a long time and
- 4:32Speaker 4: I felt like it was a good thing, and I
- 4:33Speaker 4: felt like God just like wasn't answering this prayer. And
- 4:37Speaker 4: I shared that with my co writers and they were
- 4:40Speaker 4: just so I think sometimes in a room like that,
- 4:43Speaker 4: it's like you want to be vulnerable and like share,
- 4:46Speaker 4: but then it's also like, well, what do I you know,
- 4:48Speaker 4: Like it's just like this weird thing of like we're
- 4:50Speaker 4: about to write my personal story and I'm an open book,
- 4:53Speaker 4: like I'll share all the things.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I probably share too much sometimes, but it.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Just sometimes like I shared this and then I remember
- 5:00Speaker 4: one of the co writers, Kirby Caple, she just said, hey,
- 5:04Speaker 4: I've been there, and I felt the exact same way,
- 5:06Speaker 4: and this is like a prayer that I've had. And
- 5:08Speaker 4: she actually had this reminder on her phone every day
- 5:12Speaker 4: and it just said ask him again, like ask him again,
- 5:14Speaker 4: pray again.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And I was like, oh my gosh, that's like literally
- 5:16Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 5:18Speaker 4: And so we ended up writing that song, and so yeah,
- 5:20Speaker 4: as as you heard us very much, that song is
- 5:23Speaker 4: probably the one leading up to the record.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And just like when we got that demo, I just
- 5:27Speaker 1: listened to that song over and over and over and over.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Again, that song specifically, and I listened to this record
- 5:33Speaker 4: so much.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I love it.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I'm so excited about it and just love it. But
- 5:36Speaker 4: that song specifically, I would just honestly cry to it
- 5:39Speaker 4: a lot of times to ask assi bro like, it
- 5:41Speaker 4: was very very personal.
- 5:42Speaker 1: So I knew that one for sure.
- 5:45Speaker 2: That's when when a song makes you cry, you know
- 5:47Speaker 2: you've hit you you know you've hit the bulls eye.
- 5:49Speaker 2: I like that.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Leanna, You've built a strong connection with young young women
- 5:52Speaker 3: and girls through songs like mean Girls Still Waters. You
- 5:56Speaker 3: have a song on this album called her. You might
- 5:59Speaker 3: have several other ones fit this scene as well. I'm
- 6:01Speaker 3: not sure, but that one kind of struck me.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Tell me the story behind her, and what do you
- 6:05Speaker 2: hope teen girls and young women kind of get out
- 6:09Speaker 2: of that song and other songs of similar themes, because
- 6:12Speaker 2: it does seem like that you are writing from your
- 6:16Speaker 2: heart on this issue.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, I had wanted to write a song like
- 6:21Speaker 4: this for a long time. I mean, I think there's
- 6:23Speaker 4: some really good songs out there about comparison and about
- 6:26Speaker 4: you know this, you know, this.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Thing that we all struggle with, especially is as.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Women and young women, and I think as you you know,
- 6:32Speaker 4: get into especially like middle school and high school and
- 6:35Speaker 4: even college, like you know, and that's kind of my
- 6:38Speaker 4: my song being girls like it doesn't just go away
- 6:40Speaker 4: as you get older, you know, you kind of still
- 6:41Speaker 4: feel those things. But I had wanted to write this
- 6:44Speaker 4: song for a long time just because it's some I've
- 6:46Speaker 4: I struggle with. But I was like, how can I
- 6:48Speaker 4: write a song about comparison without like putting the other
- 6:53Speaker 4: girl down? Without like how can we both be okay
- 6:56Speaker 4: with the gifts that God has given us? And that's
- 6:59Speaker 4: a beautiful thing, like it's a good thing. It's a
- 7:02Speaker 4: beautiful thing that like He's made, you know, some girls
- 7:05Speaker 4: like this.
- 7:05Speaker 1: He's made some girls like this, and we're.
- 7:06Speaker 4: All different, and we all, you know, paint this beautiful picture.
- 7:09Speaker 4: We all kind of have different colors, different colors that
- 7:12Speaker 4: we get to bring to the world. And I think
- 7:14Speaker 4: that's what like I this song, like writing it. It's
- 7:18Speaker 4: just been really sweet. And I've shared this song. It's
- 7:20Speaker 4: definitely no one's heard it really yet, but I've shared
- 7:23Speaker 4: this song live, like this spring, we did a Girl's tour,
- 7:25Speaker 4: we did the Sisterhood tour, and then I've just kind
- 7:27Speaker 4: of shared it live just you know, me sort of
- 7:29Speaker 4: playing it on guitar, and it's been really sweet to
- 7:31Speaker 4: hear even before it's out, the connection that it's made to,
- 7:35Speaker 4: you know, especially young girls.
- 7:37Speaker 1: But I just think we all kind of.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Need it, Like I need this, you know, I need
- 7:40Speaker 4: this reminder and that's why I wrote it.
- 7:42Speaker 1: But yeah, my prayer is just like that.
- 7:44Speaker 4: It's it's beautiful, like God made you in such a
- 7:47Speaker 4: unique way, and it's okay to like recognize that this
- 7:51Speaker 4: this girl you're comparing yourself, like she has different gifts
- 7:54Speaker 4: and that's okay, and it's actually beautiful and that's hard
- 7:57Speaker 4: for us to do, Like, that's hard for me to do.
- 7:58Speaker 1: It's not natural.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Because it just it feels like, well, if she has
- 8:02Speaker 4: these gifts, that means well, I'm failing in these areas,
- 8:04Speaker 4: which just like isn't true. But we want to tell
- 8:06Speaker 4: ourselves that. And so, yeah, I hope that it's a
- 8:08Speaker 4: song that it's just like it is a reminder to
- 8:11Speaker 4: just like build each other up, to encourage each other
- 8:14Speaker 4: to hopefully just be like, Okay, I'm good like here
- 8:17Speaker 4: right where God made me.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Amen to that.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I heard that song on your Sisterhod tour and I
- 8:23Speaker 3: have a daughter, and it was bringing, you know, tears
- 8:25Speaker 3: to my eyes. It's so powerful and so I know
- 8:27Speaker 3: people are going to enjoy that one. Do you enjoy
- 8:30Speaker 3: writing songs as much as you enjoy singing them? It
- 8:32Speaker 3: seems like songwriting is something that is really close to
- 8:35Speaker 3: your heart and what are your thoughts behind that?
- 8:38Speaker 2: I mean, is this something that you just really enjoy?
- 8:41Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 8:41Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 8:42Speaker 4: There was a few years ago kind of actually before
- 8:45Speaker 4: Still Waters came out.
- 8:46Speaker 1: It was like, I mean it's been and now twenty
- 8:48Speaker 1: twenty six, is it? Yeah? Yes, I was like, what
- 8:51Speaker 1: here is it?
- 8:52Speaker 4: And there was a season where songwriting was like really
- 8:55Speaker 4: hard for me. It's always been a way for me
- 8:56Speaker 4: like process life, but songwriting had just been like this
- 9:00Speaker 4: this thing that I always loved, and then for there
- 9:02Speaker 4: was a season when it was became just really tough
- 9:05Speaker 4: and I just couldn't write a song. And it was
- 9:06Speaker 4: just like a lot of insecurities talking about comparison and
- 9:10Speaker 4: all this stuff.
- 9:10Speaker 1: You know her that's why I needed.
- 9:11Speaker 4: To write it, but it's a lot of insecurities. I
- 9:13Speaker 4: kind of felt like I'd let everybody down. And this
- 9:16Speaker 4: beautiful thing that I'd done for a long time of
- 9:18Speaker 4: just being able to process and I feel like talk
- 9:20Speaker 4: to God through songwriting, I couldn't do. So it took
- 9:23Speaker 4: me some years to get back to like loving it,
- 9:26Speaker 4: and still Waters was kind of the start, and a
- 9:28Speaker 4: lot of songs on that record it was like me
- 9:30Speaker 4: falling in love with songwriting again. And so it's not
- 9:33Speaker 4: always an easy thing. I usually come home and I'm
- 9:35Speaker 4: like totally exhausted from songwriting, but it's.
- 9:38Speaker 1: So like it's interesting.
- 9:41Speaker 4: It's like I do love it so much, especially like
- 9:44Speaker 4: getting to write like share an idea, bring that to
- 9:47Speaker 4: the room and getting to write, Like I get to
- 9:50Speaker 4: write with some incredible co writers and songwriters and they're
- 9:53Speaker 4: like amazing, and so I feel like I learned so
- 9:56Speaker 4: much from them, and we're all kind of processing, like
- 9:58Speaker 4: we're all polling from our life experiences, and so that
- 10:01Speaker 4: even the collaborative part of it felt like really intimidating
- 10:04Speaker 4: at first, and sometimes it still is, but it's mostly beautiful,
- 10:08Speaker 4: and it's like mostly really fun, and it's like you're
- 10:10Speaker 4: just hanging out and you're doing your best to kind
- 10:12Speaker 4: of like shape and like you know, chisel.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Away at the song whenever it's supposed to be.
- 10:16Speaker 4: And so when you get a song that you're like, Okay,
- 10:19Speaker 4: I feel like this is like this is what it
- 10:21Speaker 4: doesn't always happen, you know, And I think that makes
- 10:22Speaker 4: it even more special, is like, you know, it doesn't
- 10:25Speaker 4: always happen for me at least.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I mean, there's some songwriters you.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Know that are always they're just you know, doing the
- 10:29Speaker 4: thing every time, but it does always happen. And so
- 10:32Speaker 4: when it does and you get a song that you're like, wow,
- 10:34Speaker 4: I this is exactly what I wanted to say.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I feel like this tells it it's so special.
- 10:38Speaker 4: But yeah, I actually really enjoy the songwriting process most
- 10:41Speaker 4: of the time. I mean I think with anything, you know,
- 10:43Speaker 4: you got your good days and bad days. But most
- 10:45Speaker 4: of the time I love it.
- 10:46Speaker 2: I really do.
- 10:56Speaker 3: One of the songs that I'm excited about on this
- 10:58Speaker 3: album is called Revenge, and it really struck me because
- 11:02Speaker 3: it preaches the gospel. But it kind of catches your
- 11:05Speaker 3: eye because of the title, because I clicked on it
- 11:07Speaker 3: listening to the preview and I was like, what is
- 11:09Speaker 3: this even about? This is a song called revenge on
- 11:13Speaker 3: a Christian album. But the more I listened to it,
- 11:16Speaker 3: the more I thought, Wow, this is really good. And
- 11:18Speaker 3: of course the one of the choruses is one of
- 11:20Speaker 3: the part of the choruses, what if forgiveness is the
- 11:22Speaker 3: best kind of revenge?
- 11:24Speaker 2: I think that's how it goes. Why did you want
- 11:26Speaker 2: to write that? And what was the heart behind that?
- 11:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I think forgiveness is not non easy
- 11:32Speaker 4: thing all the time. It definitely doesn't come naturally that
- 11:36Speaker 4: I think. There's there's obviously I know this from personal experience.
- 11:39Speaker 4: There's so much freedom and forgiveness and I think I
- 11:42Speaker 4: had I had kind of I actually had this conversation.
- 11:45Speaker 1: With one of my friends, and we were talking on.
- 11:47Speaker 4: The phone and she was kind of processing some things
- 11:49Speaker 4: she was going through in some relationship.
- 11:51Speaker 1: And as she was kind of sharing that, I think I.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Just had this realization, Like I was like, oh, I
- 11:58Speaker 4: think I need to kind of like says this a
- 12:00Speaker 4: little bit more for some you know, maybe some unforgiveness
- 12:03Speaker 4: that I'm holding onto my heart in my own life.
- 12:05Speaker 1: And so I remember we hung.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Up the phone and I like sat at my piano
- 12:08Speaker 4: and I just started to like write down this idea
- 12:11Speaker 4: and sort of this thought. And it was the first
- 12:14Speaker 4: time that I actually had written with Jimmy Robbins, who's
- 12:16Speaker 4: my co writer on this song, and he's more of
- 12:19Speaker 4: like a country songwriter.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Actually, he's incredibly brilliant.
- 12:21Speaker 4: He's written so many songs and an awesome just believer
- 12:25Speaker 4: loves the Lord, and we just had this great time.
- 12:28Speaker 4: I felt like I was learning so much from him.
- 12:29Speaker 4: He's just like brilliant. But we started to write this.
- 12:33Speaker 4: We wrote the song and it came out actually pretty quick.
- 12:35Speaker 4: We wrote it very quick, and it was just like, Okay,
- 12:38Speaker 4: I really needed this reminder of just like I think God,
- 12:43Speaker 4: like what God can do with forgiveness, it doesn't necessarily
- 12:45Speaker 4: mean those relationships are always restored, and I think that's
- 12:49Speaker 4: okay like that, but like, I had held so much
- 12:51Speaker 4: bitterness in my heart, and I mean, I don't like
- 12:54Speaker 4: using the word hate, but I had, you know, some
- 12:56Speaker 4: like I just had some strong feelings and I really
- 12:59Speaker 4: had to pray about it, and God was so kind
- 13:01Speaker 4: and just being like, you know, over time, he just
- 13:04Speaker 4: like he helped me forgive that person to where I
- 13:07Speaker 4: don't have to have a relationship with them, but I can, Yeah,
- 13:09Speaker 4: I can love them through the eyes of Jesus, you know,
- 13:12Speaker 4: like I can love them from Afar and I can
- 13:13Speaker 4: pray for them or whatever, and it actually can be
- 13:16Speaker 4: such a beautiful thing and freeing thing. And that person
- 13:18Speaker 4: probably doesn't even know that I'm holding onto that in
- 13:20Speaker 4: my heart, like probably doesn't even know that I'm like
- 13:22Speaker 4: still feeling those things. But it's like, actually, I don't
- 13:25Speaker 4: have a bitterness towards him anymore. And so that song
- 13:28Speaker 4: was sort of like almost rapping a bow on that
- 13:31Speaker 4: little season, on that little journey of just being like, okay, like, yeah,
- 13:34Speaker 4: it is forgiveness is the best.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Kind of for revenge.
- 13:37Speaker 4: I think, you know, and kind of a cheeky way
- 13:39Speaker 4: to say that, but we know, you know what I'm saying.
- 13:41Speaker 1: But it is like there's so much freedom in it.
- 13:44Speaker 4: And I do fully believe that like God answers our
- 13:46Speaker 4: prayers when we ask, even if it's so hard and
- 13:48Speaker 4: like unimaginable, Like that's what Jesus does, Like he he
- 13:52Speaker 4: does the things that we think are impossible, and so
- 13:55Speaker 4: I absolutely believe that he.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I don't know, like he gives us just so much
- 13:59Speaker 1: freedom in giveness.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm excited about how that's going to impact audiences
- 14:03Speaker 2: as well. I mean it's impacted you, but I think
- 14:05Speaker 2: you write these songs the impact others, and I think
- 14:07Speaker 2: it's going to do that.
- 14:08Speaker 3: As we land the play here, let me ask you
- 14:10Speaker 3: a couple more questions. Well, what do you hope this album?
- 14:13Speaker 3: How do you hope this album impacts your fans? It
- 14:16Speaker 3: comes out July the twenty six for those who missed
- 14:19Speaker 3: that earlier. How do you hope this impacts fans?
- 14:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I My prayer is like there's a through line
- 14:25Speaker 4: of hope. I think, you know, writing my own story,
- 14:29Speaker 4: like you said, like I'm writing these songs says I
- 14:31Speaker 4: need them, But my prayer is always that someone can
- 14:35Speaker 4: hear these songs, hear a song maybe and be like, oh,
- 14:37Speaker 4: how did she write my story?
- 14:39Speaker 1: That's how I feel about music.
- 14:40Speaker 4: A lot of times I'm like, someone wrote this song
- 14:41Speaker 4: and I'm like, oh, I feel like they knew exactly
- 14:44Speaker 4: what I was going through, even if we were having
- 14:45Speaker 4: a totally different experience. And so my prayer is just
- 14:49Speaker 4: like that one that they feel seen and known and
- 14:52Speaker 4: loved by the God of the universe who said his
- 14:55Speaker 4: son Jesus, and I like, that's my that's my prayer
- 14:57Speaker 4: that there's always that through line. But then I also like,
- 15:00Speaker 4: I think it's just like life can be so sweet
- 15:02Speaker 4: and exciting when we choose to trust Jesus, and it's
- 15:06Speaker 4: still scary sometimes, but like I hope that there's just
- 15:10Speaker 4: like this idea of hope throughout the album and that
- 15:15Speaker 4: there's so much joy that can be found in Jesus.
- 15:18Speaker 1: There's so much hope and love.
- 15:20Speaker 4: I'm not always easy and we're still in this crazy
- 15:23Speaker 4: world and all the ups and downs and all things
- 15:25Speaker 4: we experience as humans, but just yeah, my prayers that
- 15:28Speaker 4: there's a through line of hope.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Yeah, you know you're not alone? Amen to that.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Let me ask you a fun question before we close here,
- 15:35Speaker 3: and I ask you, actually you know and I discussed
- 15:37Speaker 3: this on the red carpet at the k Loves, but
- 15:39Speaker 3: I want to ask you again. For those who didn't
- 15:41Speaker 3: catch that interview, your husband went to Indiana. He played
- 15:44Speaker 3: in the NBA as well, of course, which means you're
- 15:46Speaker 3: an Indiana fan.
- 15:49Speaker 2: You guys had a really good football season. You got
- 15:52Speaker 2: you were posting pictures on Instagram of you and your
- 15:55Speaker 2: husband at the football games. For those who don't know
- 15:58Speaker 2: and knows who are not at sports fans, Indiana football
- 16:00Speaker 2: it's been pretty bad for about one hundred years, off
- 16:03Speaker 2: and on. They've had some good teams, but mostly bad.
- 16:05Speaker 2: And they won the whole thing this year. They won
- 16:07Speaker 2: the national championship and it just shocked everybody. And of course,
- 16:12Speaker 2: you guys got to enjoy that.
- 16:14Speaker 3: And you were posting pictures on your Instagram and your
- 16:17Speaker 3: social media of you and your husband at those games.
- 16:20Speaker 3: And I was watching those games on TV, so it
- 16:21Speaker 3: was kind of cool to see somebody that I had
- 16:23Speaker 3: contact with.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Being at the game. What were you what were your
- 16:26Speaker 2: emotions during during those during that title run? I mean,
- 16:29Speaker 2: did did was? Was he was he confident that they
- 16:32Speaker 2: could do this, that they could win it all?
- 16:34Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean I think my husband's a big, you know,
- 16:37Speaker 4: football fan in general, and he was he played basketball,
- 16:41Speaker 4: but he's a big college football fan, and so for
- 16:43Speaker 4: him to be able to like, you know, genuinely cheer
- 16:45Speaker 4: on his Indiana team was exciting for him. And of
- 16:48Speaker 4: course I just married into it, so I had a
- 16:51Speaker 4: good time. So I was very excited. I'm big, you know,
- 16:54Speaker 4: big Indiana supporter.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I love him.
- 16:56Speaker 4: I mean, I think it was just like it was
- 16:58Speaker 4: the Cinderella story that everybody was like, there's no way
- 17:01Speaker 4: this can happen, and then all of a sudden, they
- 17:04Speaker 4: kept winning and they kept winning, and then everybody then
- 17:07Speaker 4: it was like, well, my team's not anymore, so I'm
- 17:09Speaker 4: in a cheer for Indiana. Then it was kind of
- 17:11Speaker 4: like the whole country is like cheering for Indiana. It's
- 17:13Speaker 4: like the impossible saying, and it's like just one of
- 17:16Speaker 4: those things. I feel like, you know, I love a
- 17:17Speaker 4: good sports movie and like when the underdog like wins
- 17:20Speaker 4: and you know, they really probably weren't the underdogs, but
- 17:23Speaker 4: they were, you know, like it was just like the impossible.
- 17:25Speaker 4: I guess they were the underdogs, but like it was
- 17:27Speaker 4: so fun. It was so emotional. I mean it was
- 17:29Speaker 4: emotional for.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Me, even though I didn't grow up in Indiana.
- 17:32Speaker 4: I didn't like, you know, but just being able to
- 17:34Speaker 4: watch my husband Cody just like enjoy, Like he was
- 17:37Speaker 4: just so excited, and it just felt like, I mean,
- 17:41Speaker 4: everybody is so excited.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Like it was like the whole state.
- 17:43Speaker 4: And the whole country is so excited for Indiana, and
- 17:46Speaker 4: it felt really special. I mean, I love, I love
- 17:49Speaker 4: a good lie, I love football of basket, I love
- 17:52Speaker 4: I love me some sports, and so it was fun
- 17:54Speaker 4: for me as well, but it was it was kind
- 17:56Speaker 4: of emotional. I mean, it was very emotional for a
- 17:58Speaker 4: lot of us. But it was just special to get
- 18:00Speaker 4: to go and be a part of it. And we
- 18:01Speaker 4: were kind of like it didn't really make sense even
- 18:04Speaker 4: for our schedules to go, but we were sort of
- 18:06Speaker 4: like this is we have to be there. And so
- 18:09Speaker 4: I was so excited that we did go, Like it
- 18:11Speaker 4: was it was really special to get to go and
- 18:13Speaker 4: be a part of it and like actually be there,
- 18:15Speaker 4: like it was it was really special.
- 18:16Speaker 1: So my husband was like, we're not missing it, like
- 18:18Speaker 1: we're gonna do this. It's very spontaneous of us, but
- 18:21Speaker 1: it was great.
- 18:22Speaker 2: It was fun to watch, and you are correct, the
- 18:24Speaker 2: entire country outside of I guess Miami was cheering for
- 18:27Speaker 2: you guys. That's who you guys played. If I'm my
- 18:30Speaker 2: memory search correctly. Anyway, Leanne, I always get talking to you.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Thank you so much, Thank you so.
