Transcript
- 0:00- When I ran for congress against Jeff Van
- 0:02- Drew when Jeff was a democrat, it was
- 0:05- Rick Shafter who managed my campaign by getting
- 0:08- me the
- 0:09- the accurate polling I needed
- 0:11- and,
- 0:12- and also
- 0:14- buying
- 0:14- the TV ads and producing the TV ads
- 0:17- and radio ads
- 0:18- so that even though I only was able
- 0:21- to raise $300,000
- 0:23- compared to the Democrats raising more than $2,000,000,
- 0:27- I actually did better,
- 0:29- during that blue wave than many incumbent congressmen,
- 0:34- like Leonard Lance
- 0:35- in that election.
- 0:37- And,
- 0:38- of course, he did it because
- 0:40- he really understands the issues,
- 0:43- not because he's a smart guy, but because
- 0:45- he
- 0:46- analyzes
- 0:47- the data. He doesn't let his emotion,
- 0:50- get in the way of the facts,
- 0:52- and that's, really important. And my final contact,
- 0:56- with Rick Shafter
- 0:58- was really heartbreaking
- 1:00- because
- 1:00- he was pleading
- 1:03- with Jack Ciattarelli and the other Republicans
- 1:07- last year,
- 1:08- to let him
- 1:11- suggest ways that the
- 1:13- Republicans could win that election because
- 1:16- almost every day, Rick Schaffner would call me
- 1:19- and say, you know, the New Jersey Republicans
- 1:21- are throwing away winnable elections in New Jersey
- 1:24- starting with Jack Ciattarelli. Anyway,
- 1:26- enough of the introductions.
- 1:28- I I I just... Before I get to
- 1:30- Rick Schaffner, I just wanna bring up one
- 1:32- other important thing, and this is why I'm
- 1:34- I'm making Rick Schaffner a special guest.
- 1:37- The second phase of the elections begins today.
- 1:40- As I told you last month,
- 1:42- anyone who wanted to vote could vote through
- 1:44- the county clerk's office
- 1:46- with a mail in ballot or a messenger
- 1:48- ballot. You could still do that right up
- 1:50- until the Monday before,
- 1:53- the final election day of November 3. But
- 1:56- today
- 1:57- starts another important element of voting, and that's
- 2:00- in person voting
- 2:03- at selected
- 2:04- voting places in each county.
- 2:07- The polls open at 10:00 this morning. That's
- 2:09- Saturday morning, October twenty fourth. They'll be open
- 2:12- till 08:00 tonight.
- 2:15- They'll be open tomorrow, Sunday, from 10:00 to
- 2:18- 06:00,
- 2:19- and then they'll be open right for the
- 2:21- next
- 2:21- six days after that from 10AM to 8PM,
- 2:26- right up until the Sunday before the election.
- 2:29- Of course, the Sunday before the election will
- 2:31- be closing at 6PM.
- 2:32- And as soon as this program is over,
- 2:34- by the way,
- 2:35- I am gonna be voting today,
- 2:38- at the Northfield office
- 2:40- of the, of the county at at, 101
- 2:43- Shore Road in Northfield.
- 2:45- That's one of the polling places. Other polling
- 2:47- places are Buena Vista Township, Egg Harbor Township
- 2:51- at the Egg Harbor,
- 2:53- branch of the library at 1 Swift Drive
- 2:55- in Egg Harbor, at the Atlanta County Library
- 2:58- in Galloway, at the Atlanta County Library in
- 3:00- Mays Landing, at the Hamilton Family Success Center
- 3:03- in Hamilton,
- 3:04- and, of course, at the Shoreville Building
- 3:07- 101,
- 3:08- Shore Road in Northfield
- 3:09- in Cape May.
- 3:11- Your early voting will be at the Villas
- 3:13- at the Lower Township Library,
- 3:15- at the Middle Township Library at Cape May
- 3:17- Courthouse, and at the Upper Township,
- 3:22- library
- 3:23- in Woodbine
- 3:24- and in Millville. There are several locations in
- 3:27- Millville. And in... Let me see.
- 3:29- I think a lot of folks in Littleweg
- 3:31- Harbor Township listen to us the,
- 3:34- at the library in Littleweg Harbor Township. They'll
- 3:36- have their early voting there. And also at
- 3:39- Stafford Township
- 3:40- at the Ocean County Southern Resource Center in
- 3:43- Manahawkin.
- 3:44- Alright. I've kept Rick Schaffton waiting long enough.
- 3:48- Rick, welcome to the program. You're on the
- 3:50- air.
- 3:51- Hey. Good morning. Good morning, Jersey. South Jersey.
- 3:55- Good morning. So so so I just wanna...
- 3:57- You know, you've heard the introduction.
- 3:59- A nice build up there. Okay. But but
- 4:02- the reason I'm calling you, of course, two
- 4:03- two reasons. Number one, the early voting is
- 4:06- beginning today.
- 4:07- And number two,
- 4:09- starting about three or four days ago here
- 4:12- in the South Jersey area,
- 4:14- the Democrats
- 4:15- finally started their attack
- 4:17- ads on radio and TV against Jeff Van
- 4:20- Drew, who many people assumed had a pretty
- 4:22- safe seat.
- 4:23- But after hearing those ads,
- 4:26- basically linking,
- 4:28- Jeff Van Drew to president Trump
- 4:32- and also linking him to the the high
- 4:35- gas prices,
- 4:36- the war. I mean, the the whole idea
- 4:38- that the the theme of the TV ad
- 4:40- is something like, well, Jeff Van Drew used
- 4:42- to be a good guy and he was
- 4:43- a Democrat and he did all the right
- 4:45- stuff, But then he followed Donald Trump and
- 4:49- doing all these bad things that are ruining
- 4:50- our lives, you know, put an end to
- 4:52- this career politician,
- 4:54- vote for,
- 4:56- you know, vote for the Democrat. And, of
- 4:58- course, I I know Jeff Andrew very well.
- 5:00- I know he's one of the few guys
- 5:02- who's in politics for the right reasons.
- 5:05- He he has,
- 5:07- ethics.
- 5:08- He has character.
- 5:10- He always,
- 5:11- does things based on principle and helping the
- 5:13- people in the district. So it's total lies
- 5:16- what they're doing to him. He's the best
- 5:18- congressman, I think, even though I ran against
- 5:20- him. I got to know him so well.
- 5:22- I I mean, he's probably the best guy
- 5:24- in all of congress. But now
- 5:26- how do you see it? Do you see
- 5:28- him as as jeopardized? And if you do,
- 5:32- what would you do for him and other
- 5:34- Republicans who are running? So I'm gonna just
- 5:36- be quiet now and and and hear what
- 5:37- you have done. I mean, the first question
- 5:38- is what has he been saying? Has he
- 5:40- been... Is he just, like, not running any
- 5:42- ads? Or... Because Republicans have a lot of
- 5:45- accomplishments from this congress, which nobody seems to
- 5:47- know about.
- 5:49- I mean, the the the the Green News
- 5:50- scam gets ended.
- 5:52- Illegal aliens are thrown off all kinds of
- 5:55- government assistance.
- 5:56- Medicaid slackers are being taken off the roles.
- 6:00- Right? I mean, they're doing a lot of
- 6:01- things that NPR defunded,
- 6:03- USAID
- 6:04- defunded. Right? A lot of things that are
- 6:06- that are positive.
- 6:08- I mean, is he talking about any of
- 6:10- that? Is he talking about his record or
- 6:13- what he's done in in other things? Anything
- 6:15- he's done for South Jersey?
- 6:18- I mean, I I... So
- 6:19- in other words I I I I believe
- 6:21- I believe he He allowed himself to be
- 6:23- in a position
- 6:24- where he can just get sucker punched.
- 6:26- I mean, a lot a lot of incumbents,
- 6:28- they they leave themselves open because they don't
- 6:30- talk about
- 6:32- what they've done. They make these stupid personality
- 6:34- ads where they're walking on the beach and,
- 6:36- you know, and pointing and... Right. It's just
- 6:39- it's just all... And and, you know, when
- 6:40- you're looking at that ad by itself and
- 6:43- you're a candidate, it looks fine. When you're
- 6:44- watching TV and you see six ads that
- 6:46- look exactly the same, you just tune them
- 6:48- all out, and that's exactly what voters are
- 6:50- doing with these types of ads. So I
- 6:51- don't really know what he's got up on
- 6:53- the air, what he should be doing. I
- 6:55- mean, here's what he should be doing.
- 6:56- Because there's there's two messages. Right? Each side
- 6:59- has a message. Now with a message for
- 7:02- Democrats,
- 7:03- it's... This is tough to figure out. It's
- 7:05- not inflation.
- 7:06- It's not gas prices.
- 7:08- It's not, you know, diesel fuel. It's not,
- 7:11- corruption as people say. It's not... It's it's
- 7:13- just one thing. It's Trump. They just hate
- 7:15- Trump. So they're coming out to get even
- 7:17- with Trump. They hate Trump.
- 7:19- On the Republican side, it's not like people
- 7:21- love Trump the way they did at one
- 7:23- time. I mean, it's just been around for
- 7:24- now ten years, eleven years.
- 7:27- Right? So it's...
- 7:29- There's a certain level of just fatigue. It's
- 7:32- just, you know, that you... Everybody has to
- 7:33- kind of redo their act after a while,
- 7:35- and you kinda have new things.
- 7:37- So... But what does motivate Republicans is this
- 7:39- concern
- 7:40- about socialism, communism,
- 7:43- and the Democrats' border policies that they're just
- 7:45- gonna defund ICE and and,
- 7:48- you know, just let every, you know, everybody
- 7:51- from Somalia and every other weirdo place in...
- 7:53- Into the country.
- 7:54- Well, well, I have to...
- 7:56- Is Andrew talking about
- 7:58- fighting the left, fighting socialism?
- 8:01- Yeah. He he he... He got his ads.
- 8:03- Yes. Yes. He... Wait. Can you hear me,
- 8:06- Rick?
- 8:06- To answer your question, yes. He has. So
- 8:08- so he has been painting,
- 8:10- his opponent, Democratic He's gonna be in a
- 8:13- in a good position. He needs to really
- 8:14- step down hard on on this guy's neck
- 8:17- and just say that
- 8:19- that
- 8:20- this is this is just a vote for
- 8:22- whatever this Democrat's name is. It's also a
- 8:24- vote for Hakim Jeffries. It's a vote to
- 8:27- end... It... It's a vote to undo
- 8:29- everything we've done over the last two years.
- 8:31- Well, let me let me do this.
- 8:33- Chris, do we have the, the tape of,
- 8:36- president Trump saying pretend I'm on the ballot?
- 8:38- I'm all flipped. Yeah. Okay. What I'd like
- 8:40- you to do,
- 8:41- and I I wanna know if I don't
- 8:43- think I don't I don't think that's a
- 8:44- great strategy for No. No. No. No. No.
- 8:47- No. No. I'm not talking this as a
- 8:49- strategy. I just want to inform our voters
- 8:51- that right now, one thing has happened. You
- 8:52- said that the Democrats are making Trump the
- 8:54- number one issue. And That's their... No. It
- 8:57- said that... Well, it's it's not that they're
- 8:59- necessarily making it their number one issue. It's
- 9:01- the number one issue with people who are
- 9:03- voting for Democratic candidates. In other words,
- 9:06- when you ask people who are... When you
- 9:07- ask people what party you wanna see run
- 9:09- congress, the people who say they want the
- 9:11- Democrats to run congress, when you ask them
- 9:14- what's the number one problem facing America,
- 9:17- they say... Almost all of them say Trump.
- 9:20- Alright. Well, let me let Trump. They just
- 9:22- hate Trump. I mean, it's just We don't
- 9:24- like them. They don't like his policies. And
- 9:26- Alright. Well, let let let me just put
- 9:28- it this way.
- 9:29- Like, you're doing the polling. And right now,
- 9:31- the polling seems to indicate
- 9:33- that
- 9:34- 35 to 40% of voters
- 9:37- favor Trump
- 9:39- and somewhere between
- 9:41- 6065%
- 9:43- oppose him. Now, of course,
- 9:45- the Republicans,
- 9:47- or the Trump supporters are saying, well, those
- 9:49- polls are are fake. They're just being used
- 9:51- to,
- 9:52- to to discourage turnout by,
- 9:55- you know, by by Republicans to get to
- 9:57- to get them so they're demoralized.
- 10:00- And, of course, the Democrats are saying that
- 10:02- they're they're real, that there is a real
- 10:04- dislike of of Trump, and they're trying to
- 10:07- play on it by tying every single
- 10:09- Republican candidate to Trump any way they can.
- 10:12- But here's what surprises me. It seems that
- 10:14- president Trump
- 10:16- thinks that he's the most important issue or
- 10:18- should be the most important issue of the
- 10:19- campaign. And I just wanna play a clip
- 10:21- of of what he seems to be saying
- 10:23- as he goes around, and let me know
- 10:25- your reaction to that. Chris, do you have
- 10:26- that that clip?
- 10:28- Uh-huh. A president, Democrat or Republican,
- 10:31- almost never wins the midterms. We've gotta change
- 10:34- that because we have something going that's so
- 10:36- good. We can't let that string
- 10:39- be
- 10:43- broken. So I'm asking you
- 10:46- to pretend that I'm on the ballot. I'm
- 10:48- on the ballot.
- 10:49- I'm on the ballot.
- 10:51- Okay. You you could cut that. So, basically,
- 10:53- you know, Trump is going around the country
- 10:55- saying he wants everyone to pretend he's on
- 10:57- the ballot, that the whole issue is,
- 10:59- do you support Trump or not support Trump?
- 11:02- And, of course, the Democrats
- 11:04- are also wanna make the whole election about,
- 11:08- Trump. And and that's why in in almost
- 11:11- every ad I see... And, of course, here
- 11:13- in South Jersey, we see a whole lot
- 11:15- more Philadelphia
- 11:16- and Pennsylvania ads on our, you know, our
- 11:19- major networks than we do the,
- 11:22- you know, the the local ads.
- 11:25- And and I also noticed that the network
- 11:27- news, it used to be the network news,
- 11:29- ABC, CBS, NBC,
- 11:32- CNN,
- 11:34- MS Now. It used to be that if
- 11:36- Trump would be giving a major address or
- 11:39- a major rally, they would not even mention
- 11:41- it.
- 11:41- They wouldn't mention it all. But now
- 11:44- Trump could be speaking at a high school
- 11:45- in South Dakota, and and all the major
- 11:48- networks are covering it as if it's major
- 11:50- news.
- 11:51- So it seems to me like both the
- 11:54- Democrats
- 11:55- and Trump want Trump to be
- 11:57- headline news every day. Now how... I mean,
- 12:01- from what you're pulling, and I I do
- 12:02- respect your polling. You you poll for a
- 12:04- bunch of candidates around the country.
- 12:06- What type of effect is that having on
- 12:09- the election? And
- 12:11- and I I know you told me off
- 12:13- the air that there are some Republicans who
- 12:15- are doing very well
- 12:17- in make... In defining the issues with their
- 12:19- ads, and they're showing up well in the
- 12:21- polls, and others are not doing very well.
- 12:23- So please tell me how the Trump effect
- 12:25- is affecting the election and what candidates are
- 12:27- doing to,
- 12:29- to to deal with it in the best
- 12:30- possible way.
- 12:32- So candidates are not putting Trump in their
- 12:34- ads. I mean, that's not like anything I'm
- 12:36- saying. It's what's...
- 12:38- I mean, no. Republicans
- 12:40- aren't doing this because it's...
- 12:44- I mean, politics is not a loyalty test.
- 12:46- It's not like... And some people think it
- 12:48- is, and and the president's kinda said it's
- 12:50- not a loyalty test. It's about ideas. It's
- 12:52- about the future.
- 12:53- Right now, we're going into the last congress
- 12:55- of Donald Trump, but we're also leading into
- 12:58- the post Trump years. And what this election
- 13:00- should be about is the post Trump years.
- 13:03- It should be setting the stage for the
- 13:05- post Trump era.
- 13:07- Right? Because the day after the election, the
- 13:09- presidential campaign is gonna start.
- 13:11- And,
- 13:13- so that's one thing. But another thing for
- 13:15- whatever this is worth,
- 13:17- right, is that if... Imagine that the worst
- 13:20- case scenario... I mean, right now before you
- 13:22- came on, we're sitting there, the justice department's
- 13:24- talking about the Alaska senate race. The fact
- 13:26- that we're even discussing
- 13:28- losing a senate race in Alaska is a
- 13:29- problem right there.
- 13:31- Okay? I mean, Alaska shouldn't be a competitive
- 13:34- state.
- 13:35- But we're good talking about... And you can
- 13:37- say, oh, there's two Dan Sullivan. That's not
- 13:38- why it's competitive.
- 13:40- Right? It's not because there's two Dan Sullivan's
- 13:42- on the ballot.
- 13:44- Because everybody in Alaska knows which one's the
- 13:46- real Dan Sullivan and which one isn't.
- 13:48- This is just a situation where we're just,
- 13:51- on on on defense here.
- 13:53- And now they're they're going at... We're not
- 13:55- worried about trying to take out Nellie Poe.
- 13:57- We're, like, we're worried about saving Jeff Van
- 13:59- Drew. They've already kinda written off Tom Kane.
- 14:02- So...
- 14:04- And why is this? Because all these candidates
- 14:07- across the country
- 14:09- spent the month of September
- 14:11- making these silly image ads, like the ones
- 14:13- I would... The the proverbial walking on the
- 14:16- beach, holding your kids' hands, and, you know,
- 14:19- throwing a beach ball. And we saw this
- 14:21- stupid nonsense that we see all over TV.
- 14:24- So Democrats were laying the groundwork on issues
- 14:27- and talking about Trump, mostly Trump.
- 14:30- And now we're on defense.
- 14:32- So what Van Drew has to do... I
- 14:34- mean, he's got a zillion dollars in the
- 14:36- bank, I'm sure. He's gotta be all over
- 14:38- the place, but, you know, it's also changed.
- 14:40- It also used to be
- 14:42- you had to be on broadcast TV.
- 14:45- Well, now it's streaming.
- 14:48- You really don't have to be on broadcast
- 14:50- TV.
- 14:51- I mean, it's it's just a declining number
- 14:53- of people who have cable,
- 14:55- who have, you know, DirecTV and
- 14:58- are watching local news. More people watching national
- 15:01- news.
- 15:02- So it's really... Everything's just changed.
- 15:05- Alright. And and the campaigns has come way
- 15:07- down too, which is another thing. That's a
- 15:09- long term thing. But right now, Andrew's gotta
- 15:12- go hard negative, and and he's got to
- 15:14- identify this
- 15:15- this Democrat
- 15:17- against him as being part of the far
- 15:19- left
- 15:21- and what they'll do, what the... His election
- 15:23- mean. Not do we need to keep the
- 15:25- Jeff Van Drew for this reason because that's
- 15:27- not gonna be compelling at this point.
- 15:29- And and I think he he has been
- 15:31- doing it. And I have to admit, I've
- 15:32- been a little bit out of touch because
- 15:33- I I don't watch all the all the
- 15:35- TV and and all the things. So here's
- 15:37- one other thing I like to to talk
- 15:38- talk to you about. Rick, are you there?
- 15:41- Yeah. Alright. So now about the early voting.
- 15:44- Now the the early voting
- 15:47- started
- 15:48- for the past twenty years, and we saw
- 15:49- it. And it was all done by Democrats
- 15:52- so they could,
- 15:53- you know, they they... Democrats relied on these
- 15:55- dependent voters who depended on the one hand.
- 15:58- They depend on all these government programs. They
- 16:00- got free rent. They got free medical. They
- 16:02- got free this, free that, free heat vouchers,
- 16:04- free electric bills.
- 16:06- And, of course, they were always told that
- 16:08- the reason you're getting all this free stuff
- 16:09- is the Democrats are giving it to you.
- 16:11- And if the Republicans ever get in, they'll
- 16:13- take it away from you. That was what
- 16:14- what the the... All these Democrats...... Republicans should
- 16:17- Republicans should campaign on that. I mean, because
- 16:19- we're getting the downside of it. Right? Roe,
- 16:21- they're gonna take away your benefits. We should
- 16:23- have asked, hey. We're gonna take away their
- 16:25- benefits.
- 16:26- Right. This is, like, this is what the
- 16:28- Republicans have done in Congress. We cut all
- 16:30- these people off Medicaid who shouldn't be get
- 16:32- Medicaid. Right. They should be in an ad.
- 16:35- I I I know. And and and so
- 16:36- all these dependent people... But... So the downside
- 16:38- for the Democrats, of course, for years and
- 16:40- years is all these dependent people were so
- 16:43- helpless and so dependent or so,
- 16:45- under the influence of drugs or alcohol or
- 16:47- whatever that when election day would come out,
- 16:50- their community organizers had a heck of a
- 16:52- time
- 16:53- drag him to the polls on one election
- 16:55- day. Exactly.
- 16:56- So so the Democrats people are 60. Well,
- 16:58- that's what that's 2020. He said the 2020
- 17:01- story was the Democrats had a sixty day
- 17:03- election day, and we're telling people wait till
- 17:06- election day to vote. Right. So so so
- 17:08- what the what the... This extended voting does,
- 17:11- it it not only, you know, the Democrats
- 17:14- don't have to round up all their dependent,
- 17:16- low motivated, low information voters
- 17:19- on one day. They now have,
- 17:22- six weeks to get them, and they don't
- 17:23- even have to drag them to the polls.
- 17:25- They just have to have fill out those...
- 17:26- A simple couple forms Right. And their votes
- 17:28- count as much as everybody photo ID.
- 17:31- So so I so I remember you were
- 17:33- telling me in 2020
- 17:36- that that's why Trump had a problem in
- 17:38- 2020, you know, not so much because of
- 17:40- a stolen election, but just that the Democrats
- 17:43- were spending sixty days rounding up all these
- 17:45- people and filling out the forms
- 17:47- where Trump was saying, oh, don't don't worry
- 17:49- about anything. Just you show up on election
- 17:52- day. And and I... And and you pointed
- 17:53- out that that was really the
- 17:55- difference that that did Trump and a lot
- 17:58- of Republicans in in that twenty twenty election.
- 18:00- And and also and also the legal team
- 18:02- that was completely inept, that was not challenging
- 18:04- any of these regulations before the election. And
- 18:07- then you have to say, well, you can't
- 18:08- challenge them before the election.
- 18:10- Actually, you can't challenge them after the election.
- 18:12- They have to challenge everything before the election.
- 18:14- And why they weren't doing this Right. Mean,
- 18:17- it was... It just...
- 18:18- You know? And there's, yeah, you know, Pennsylvania
- 18:20- Pennsylvania.
- 18:21- Remember, act 77,
- 18:23- which allowed for all those mail in ballots,
- 18:25- that was pushed through by Republicans.
- 18:27- Wow. That wasn't Democrats. That was Republicans who
- 18:30- pushed that through. That Tom Wolf signed it,
- 18:33- but reput... There was a Republican
- 18:35- house and senate that sent it to him.
- 18:38- And how come no one from the political
- 18:40- team called up and said, hey. This is
- 18:41- a crazy idea. Why are you doing this?
- 18:43- Alright. But but whether whether
- 18:45- we like it or not, the Democrats pulled
- 18:48- it off. So I I guess you were
- 18:50- you were giving it We have the yeah.
- 18:52- Yeah. You were giving advice at what you
- 18:53- thought Jeff Andrew could could do, and I'm
- 18:56- giving advice what everyone listening to this program
- 18:58- could do. Because everybody
- 19:00- listening to me right now
- 19:02- who supports,
- 19:04- you know, the Republican values, supports, you know,
- 19:07- constitution government, all that. Everybody
- 19:09- knows somebody in our circle of friends
- 19:12- or somebody
- 19:13- in our family
- 19:15- who couldn't care less in the... About the
- 19:17- election. They're not gonna vote. They don't watch
- 19:19- TV. You know, they... All they do is,
- 19:20- you know, worry about the early bird specials
- 19:23- or whatever.
- 19:24- And the only way that person in our
- 19:26- circle of friends or our family, the only
- 19:28- way they're gonna vote is if we either,
- 19:30- you know, go up to them and say,
- 19:32- please, can you do me a favor and
- 19:33- come to the polls and vote for me,
- 19:35- or fill out the form.
- 19:37- And so if we have a couple of
- 19:38- thousand people
- 19:40- listening to me right now, and everybody listening
- 19:42- to me right now could pull in just
- 19:44- one or or two other people, or maybe
- 19:46- your niece or nephew at college who would
- 19:48- never ever vote. But if you get them
- 19:50- the forms, if you drive them to,
- 19:52- one of those early voting locations
- 19:55- here in the next week, they might actually
- 19:56- vote. That could actually shape the election, and
- 19:58- the Democrats are doing it. Right?
- 20:01- Well, the Democrats are doing this,
- 20:03- and the reason they're able to do it
- 20:05- is because they're all motivated.
- 20:07- And
- 20:08- our people are less motivated, so there's less
- 20:10- people who are gonna be doing it. And
- 20:11- that's the problem. Yeah. And and that's... Yeah.
- 20:14- It's up to the it's up to the
- 20:15- campaigns
- 20:16- to motivate people. So what do you do
- 20:17- now? Essentially, there's seven days left because if
- 20:19- you're making an ad, it's not gonna be
- 20:21- on TV till Tuesday.
- 20:23- And if you're making a social media ad,
- 20:25- you have to have it approved by Facebook
- 20:27- by tomorrow night or it's not airing.
- 20:30- So everything has to be done, like, now,
- 20:32- like this week today.
- 20:33- And,
- 20:34- Van Drew, hopefully, has already got an ad
- 20:36- up on the air on this clown.
- 20:39- You know, if not, he's not gonna get
- 20:41- up till Tuesday, and he's gonna have the
- 20:42- whole weekend. And it's gonna look a little
- 20:44- reactive, but they certainly had enough time to...
- 20:47- You know, I'm the one that's getting asked.
- 20:49- Wednesday? I believe they came out Wednesday and
- 20:51- Thursday. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They got announced Wednesday
- 20:54- that they were spending all this money. So
- 20:56- Van Drew should have been, you know, had
- 20:58- him call his consultant up, get me an
- 20:59- ad overnight. And and and maybe maybe he
- 21:01- is. And and in all fairness, I I
- 21:04- I thing. Yeah. I I don't I don't
- 21:05- wanna
- 21:06- say anything without knowing because, I had a
- 21:09- personal thing. I had my... Some grandkids in,
- 21:11- over over the last couple days. So I
- 21:13- was not really in it and watching TV.
- 21:15- But Here's the problem that guys like Jeff
- 21:17- have. Right? They're... They they have a consultant
- 21:19- who's on, like, 200 other races.
- 21:21- And Jeff's wasn't one of the priority ones
- 21:24- because he's considered to be in good shape,
- 21:25- and he has never a problem. Well, suddenly,
- 21:28- Jeff's freaking out, and he's got a problem.
- 21:29- So he calls his consultants up, and his
- 21:31- consultant's, like, going crazy dealing with all these
- 21:34- other races where everybody else is panicking.
