- 0:38Speaker 1: Hi, welcome in, glad to have you with us. It's
- 0:41Speaker 1: our final show for twenty twenty five. This portion of
- 0:45Speaker 1: the program is brought to you by Central Texas Sports Medicine.
- 0:48Speaker 1: We're gonna hear from outgoing offensive coordinator Colin Klyde. We've
- 0:52Speaker 1: got a high school report. We're going to be joined
- 0:55Speaker 1: in this hour by the winner of the Voice Aiden
- 0:58Speaker 1: Ross so Phone the neighbors, Wake the kid, say Hey,
- 1:02Speaker 1: that voice guy from Texas A and M is going
- 1:04Speaker 1: to be on the radio. We've got our Clark Eisenhower
- 1:08Speaker 1: outdoor edition in the second hour. Within the last hour
- 1:13Speaker 1: on three sports Is, they're reporting a couple of big stories.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Number one, the Aggies have signed Mario Kraver to a
- 1:24Speaker 1: contract extension that Mario's agent says makes him the highest
- 1:29Speaker 1: paid wide receiver in Texas A and M history. Now,
- 1:32Speaker 1: I don't know how he knows that. You know, A
- 1:35Speaker 1: and M has had some good wide receivers and we
- 1:37Speaker 1: don't know what they were paid in the past because
- 1:39Speaker 1: it wasn't entirely legal. But good news Mario Kraver's coming back,
- 1:47Speaker 1: and this is a bit of a shocker. Steve Sarkesian
- 1:53Speaker 1: has fired his defensive coordinator Pete quick Kowski and passing
- 1:58Speaker 1: game coordinator Dwayne and Will Muschamp is returning as defensive
- 2:06Speaker 1: coordinator at Texas. Sark released a statement saying, we appreciate
- 2:12Speaker 1: all Pete Kwaitkowski has done for the program and his
- 2:14Speaker 1: five years coordinating our defense, and are grateful for doing
- 2:17Speaker 1: a Keena's efforts in returning to the program this past year.
- 2:21Speaker 1: They're both tremendous coaches and people that worked extremely hard
- 2:24Speaker 1: for Texas football and the players the coach. We've had
- 2:27Speaker 1: a great deal of success. Are thankful for the roles
- 2:30Speaker 1: they played. We wish them the best, but there's always
- 2:35Speaker 1: a bunt when a coach gets fired. At this time,
- 2:37Speaker 1: we felt it was best for our program to move
- 2:39Speaker 1: in a different direction. Having the opportunity to hire Will
- 2:43Speaker 1: Muschamp provides us the leadership to take our defense to
- 2:46Speaker 1: another level. His defenses are relentless. He absolutely gets the
- 2:52Speaker 1: best out of his staff and players, and is such
- 2:55Speaker 1: an extremely well respected coach. I'm fired up to be
- 2:59Speaker 1: bringing him back to Texas. He'll be an off awesome
- 3:03Speaker 1: addition to our staff. Sark will be watching the playoffs,
- 3:09Speaker 1: which begin tomorrow night in Norman with Oklahoma hosting Alabama.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Continues Saturday morning at eleven a m at Kyle Field,
- 3:17Speaker 1: where a fairly substantial crowd is expected to be on
- 3:21Speaker 1: hand to watch the first ever playoff game at Kyle
- 3:26Speaker 1: Field as the Aggies host the Hurricanes of Miami. The
- 3:31Speaker 1: Football Writers Association, of which I am a member, have
- 3:38Speaker 1: voted Ksey, Conceptsion, Mario Craver, and cash Is Hol to
- 3:45Speaker 1: All American Honors. Conceptsione and how first team, Craver second team.
- 3:52Speaker 1: And this is big. I'm just saying January and February
- 3:59Speaker 1: of the months for Pitbull because the College Football Playoff
- 4:03Speaker 1: announced today that Pitbull will headline the Capitol One Music
- 4:09Speaker 1: Stage at All State Championship Tailgate, the event before the
- 4:17Speaker 1: kickoff outside hard Rock Stadium eleven AM to six pm
- 4:22Speaker 1: that's Eastern time. That will be ten to five our time.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Attendees will have the opportunity for taking an interactive game,
- 4:29Speaker 1: sponsor activations, concessions you'll have to pay for those, and
- 4:34Speaker 1: performances by each team's marching band. Pitbull will be partnering
- 4:41Speaker 1: with partnering with CFP on several other fronts across National
- 4:48Speaker 1: Championship weekend. He'll speak at at Extra Yards for Teachers
- 4:53Speaker 1: Summit the Saturday before the game. How about that? That's Pitbull?
- 5:00Speaker 1: Is there anything he can't do? He is everywhere. The
- 5:05Speaker 1: former Michigan staffer in a relationship with former head coach
- 5:09Speaker 1: your owned more alleged domestic violence. The coach had a
- 5:15Speaker 1: long history of domestic violence during their time together. So
- 5:22Speaker 1: we've got stuff going on, and Michigan's investigation goodly to
- 5:28Speaker 1: findings of additional misconduct that might trigger more employment terminations,
- 5:32Speaker 1: according to interim President Dominique cho Grosso in a video statement,
- 5:38Speaker 1: Grosso described the week since the football firing no doubt
- 5:42Speaker 1: a challenging time for our university community. We will take
- 5:47Speaker 1: whatever steps necessary to ensure that conduct like this does
- 5:51Speaker 1: not happen again. Make no mistake, We will leave no
- 5:57Speaker 1: turn unstoned. Oh no, I'm sorry, that's no stone unturned,
- 6:01Speaker 1: and any further action we take will be based on
- 6:05Speaker 1: credible evidence and findings developed through a rigorous investigation. The
- 6:12Speaker 1: Texas Rangers announced today the club awards for this past season.
- 6:20Speaker 1: FanFest by the way coming up Saturday, January twenty fourth.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Put that on your calendar. Player of the Year Wyat Langford,
- 6:28Speaker 1: co Pictures of the Year, Jacob de gram Nadie Valdi,
- 6:33Speaker 1: Rookie of the Year, Jack Lighter Sunberg, Community Achievement Award
- 6:41Speaker 1: Corey Seeger, the Harold McKinney Good Guy Award Jake Berger,
- 6:50Speaker 1: and the Richard Durrett Hardest Working Ranger Jacob lats So.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Those are the team awards for the Texas Rangers who
- 7:04Speaker 1: did not make the playoffs. I'm surprised the Player of
- 7:08Speaker 1: the Year is not Nati Valdi. Quite frankly, nata Valdi
- 7:15Speaker 1: was eleven and three with an ERA one point seventy three.
- 7:21Speaker 1: De Gram was pretty good too, He was twelve and
- 7:26Speaker 1: eight with the two nine seven e r A and
- 7:30Speaker 1: was the al Comeback Player of the Year. You don't
- 7:33Speaker 1: want to be the comeback player of the year more
- 7:37Speaker 1: than once in your career, I would think, frankly, you'd
- 7:41Speaker 1: probably not want to be the player of the year,
- 7:42Speaker 1: I mean the comeback player of the year.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Ever.
- 7:46Speaker 1: USA Baseball had two time defending al Cy Young winner
- 7:53Speaker 1: Tarik Skubele high on their wish list. USA Baseball announced
- 7:59Speaker 1: today Taric Scooble will be on Team USA. So far
- 8:07Speaker 1: with Paul skens An Elsai Young Winner, left hander Matthew
- 8:11Speaker 1: Boyd Laver Garrett Whitlock. So the US Team USA will
- 8:16Speaker 1: have some pitching this next season. We're going to take
- 8:19Speaker 1: a break, We're going to come back. We're going to
- 8:21Speaker 1: hear from Colin Klein. Don't forget Aiden Ross is going
- 8:24Speaker 1: to join us here in a little more than thirty minutes.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Final Lot brought to you by a co Insurance.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Enco Insurance is now a part of Hub International, bringing
- 8:34Speaker 4: you more choices better value and even greater expertise. While

- 8:53Speaker 4: behind us, more resources, more solutions, still your team and
- 8:56Speaker 4: co Insurance a Hub International company, So you're ready for tomorrow.
- 9:02Speaker 5: William Byron is on he is your Cup Series regular
- 9:06Speaker 5: season champion.
- 9:07Speaker 6: I was kind of losing my mind there for a minute.
- 9:09Speaker 6: Just felt like, you know, there was so much going
- 9:11Speaker 6: on and just such a balance of trying to manage
- 9:14Speaker 6: tires all night and and it just got crazy on
- 9:17Speaker 6: those couple of restarts. You know, that one restart was
- 9:19Speaker 6: kind of a tipping point, but we had honestly some
- 9:22Speaker 6: really good runs tonight. Was I was happy with, like
- 9:26Speaker 6: the end of stage one, the beginning of stage two,
- 9:28Speaker 6: and kind of throughout Stage two is pretty good. Beginning
- 9:30Speaker 6: of stage three we kind of climbed for and then
- 9:33Speaker 6: we just had that one set of tires that we
- 9:34Speaker 6: put on that that we.
- 9:36Speaker 7: Fell way back.
- 9:36Speaker 6: But it feels great, you know, I think, like I
- 9:40Speaker 6: said my interview, is really the best twelfth place finish
- 9:42Speaker 6: I've ever had. And you know, we came in here
- 9:45Speaker 6: and really just did a solid job. You know, we
- 9:49Speaker 6: you know, we qualified solid. We always want more, but
- 9:52Speaker 6: this is this is definitely our toughest racetrack and we
- 9:55Speaker 6: just kind of came in here and had a solid
- 9:57Speaker 6: plan and executed it. So feels really good. The team's
- 10:02Speaker 6: worked extremely hard and all the guys have worked hard
- 10:04Speaker 6: through the summer months and I feel like this has
- 10:06Speaker 6: been the best summer we've we've ever had speed wise,
- 10:09Speaker 6: and we had a lot of tough things happened throughout
- 10:12Speaker 6: probably I guess really early July, like we had a
- 10:15Speaker 6: lot of speed, but some crashes in practice and qualifying
- 10:19Speaker 6: and then just some issue car issues and things that happened.
- 10:22Speaker 6: But but yeah, just really really cool and looking forward
- 10:27Speaker 6: to the playoffs.
- 10:28Speaker 1: This is the final.
- 10:29Speaker 8: App Nugget Bills, Nugget Bills, Nuggets all the way.

- 10:45Speaker 4: we go and pick up our family's favorite nuggets.
- 10:47Speaker 8: Every Nuggets, Tasty times quad billion, and we get all
- 10:50Speaker 8: the sides.
- 10:51Speaker 7: Yeah, the Oui, Guie, Mac and Cheeth is a big hit.
- 10:54Speaker 9: Share the nuggets, Share the joy, order the thirty count
- 10:56Speaker 9: Chick fil A Nuggets on the Chick fil A app.

- 11:39Speaker 1: Brian, have I already expressed my displeasure on how I
- 11:51Speaker 1: can't see Charlie Brown Christmas. I think I don't think
- 11:56Speaker 1: I have done it enough. I think all you peoples
- 12:00Speaker 1: sho you call CBS right now, thousands of you get
- 12:03Speaker 1: up out of your seats, open your windows and say,
- 12:07Speaker 1: I'm mad as hell. I'm not gonna take it anymore.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I'm sorry. That's a reference to a really old movie.
- 12:13Speaker 1: But some of you will understand I'm not happy about it.
- 12:19Speaker 1: That's what Christmas is all about. Charlie Brown, welcome back.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Coming up, We've got a high school report. We'll visit
- 12:26Speaker 1: with the winner of the Voice, Aiden Ross. We have
- 12:29Speaker 1: got the Clark Eisenhower Outdoor Edition tomorrow. Young Ryan will
- 12:35Speaker 1: close out twenty twenty five for Sports Talk, but I
- 12:39Speaker 1: will be visiting with Kirk Bowles. I will be visiting
- 12:43Speaker 1: with Tony Catalina tomorrow on the program. And I want
- 12:49Speaker 1: to remind you, do you have a little more than
- 12:52Speaker 1: twenty four hours to get your picks in five o'clock
- 12:55Speaker 1: tomorrow is your deadline. I went back and changed three
- 12:58Speaker 1: games today, that's probably not real. Mark Freddie Ferless Football
- 13:02Speaker 1: Forecast contest has been brought to us all year long
- 13:06Speaker 1: by Chad Jones Law and Swerneman Florid. This is the
- 13:11Speaker 1: Bowl Edition. Our tiebreaker game is Saturday morning. Texas A
- 13:18Speaker 1: and M in Miami, Alabama, Oklahoma, tou Lane and Ole
- 13:23Speaker 1: Miss James Madison and Oregon, Penn State Clemson. That's the
- 13:28Speaker 1: Pin Strike Bowl. Georgia Tech BYU in the Pop Tarts Bowl,
- 13:34Speaker 1: LSU Houston in the Texas Bowl, USC TCU in the
- 13:41Speaker 1: Alamo Bowl, Iowa and Vanderbilt in the reliah Quest Bowl,
- 13:49Speaker 1: and Texas and Michigan in the Citrus Bowl. Remember you
- 13:54Speaker 1: can't spell Citrus without ut. It's the Bowl Edition. Make
- 14:00Speaker 1: your picks win some prizes. Come on, people, do what
- 14:05Speaker 1: you're supposed to do. Five o'clock tomorrow is the deadline
- 14:12Speaker 1: for these ten games. Some people wanted me to pick
- 14:16Speaker 1: on my usual fifteen games, but I just didn't want
- 14:20Speaker 1: to grade that many games when I came back off
- 14:22Speaker 1: vacation because it's going to take me a while, you know,
- 14:26Speaker 1: to get back in the swing of things after being
- 14:30Speaker 1: on some tropical beach for several weeks. The Bowl edition,
- 14:38Speaker 1: like all the other editions every single day. Man we
- 14:42Speaker 1: started back in August. We will crown a winner when
- 14:46Speaker 1: we get back on January fifth. Friday's Fearless Football Forecast
- 14:55Speaker 1: Contest Bowl Edition is brought to you by Them and
- 15:00Speaker 1: Flooring and Chad Jones Law. All right, so the game
- 15:12Speaker 1: is Saturday, right at eleven? Do I have that right?
- 15:16Speaker 1: Have you checked the Have we checked seat keek lately?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Because the prices went down a little bit yesterday there
- 15:22Speaker 1: were apparently some tickets that were added. Well, they've gone
- 15:28Speaker 1: up again. I think two thirty eight yesterday when I checked.
- 15:31Speaker 1: So I don't know if that's gonna get much better.
- 15:36Speaker 12: We'll see.
- 15:37Speaker 1: For those of you holding out, you may have to
- 15:39Speaker 1: hold out till after kickoff. I'm just saying. I mean,
- 15:43Speaker 1: it's if you're if you're wanting to, you know, say
- 15:46Speaker 1: a few coins. At this point, that's probably the only
- 15:50Speaker 1: way that that's going to happen. So I'm thinking there'll
- 15:57Speaker 1: be a real nice crowd there on Saturday morning and
- 16:01Speaker 1: the weather should be really really good. All right. Speaking
- 16:05Speaker 1: of that, the outgoing offensive coordinator Colin Klein spoke with
- 16:12Speaker 1: the media dab before yesterday. I think it was sounded
- 16:17Speaker 1: a lot like this.
- 16:19Speaker 7: I'm good, Colin.
- 16:22Speaker 14: Can you tell us how difficult it is to be
- 16:25Speaker 14: trying to I don't want to get your get started
- 16:28Speaker 14: as the head coach somewhere else and then keep your
- 16:32Speaker 14: focus also on being the offensive coordinator here and we'll
- 16:36Speaker 14: tell us why I can all these Aggie fans feel
- 16:38Speaker 14: confident that you know you can still do the same job.
- 16:42Speaker 15: Gotcha, No, I think. I mean it is definitely a challenge,
- 16:45Speaker 15: There's no question about it. I mean, there's a lot
- 16:47Speaker 15: of things that are moving really really fast. And when
- 16:50Speaker 15: things happen in this world, they happened very very quickly
- 16:54Speaker 15: and in a lot of ways out of the blue,
- 16:57Speaker 15: very very fortunate in this situation that you know, Coach
- 17:01Speaker 15: Holk and I we're able to communicate, make sure and
- 17:04Speaker 15: kind of have a plan, and we're able to get
- 17:05Speaker 15: a plan together pretty much right from the start of
- 17:09Speaker 15: how we were going to walk things out and and
- 17:11Speaker 15: uh to make sure that we were staying on top
- 17:14Speaker 15: of things and doing it the right way, and and
- 17:16Speaker 15: then also sending the right message to our team. You
- 17:18Speaker 15: know that it's about finishing and being right in the
- 17:21Speaker 15: now wherever we are and and have some really really
- 17:24Speaker 15: good people and in both places that you know or
- 17:28Speaker 15: have really helped me and and helped us stay on
- 17:32Speaker 15: track and do the job how it needs to be done.
- 17:35Speaker 14: Left side the second row to Alex Muller from the Eagle, I'm.
- 17:38Speaker 16: Curious just you know, transfer portal starts in January. You
- 17:42Speaker 16: guys have done high school recruiting, has the has the
- 17:44Speaker 16: break and kind of the roster building aspect, help you
- 17:48Speaker 16: guys that are kind of in this transition period kind
- 17:51Speaker 16: of stay present in this in this moment between the two.
- 17:55Speaker 15: I think it's definitely slowed it down. You know, like
- 17:57Speaker 15: when we first coach Coach Ok and I when we've
- 18:00Speaker 15: got down here, you know, two years ago, the landscape
- 18:02Speaker 15: was different, right, and so it definitely quiets December down
- 18:06Speaker 15: a little bit and creates a little bit more stability.
- 18:09Speaker 17: But yeah, and then just from what you've seen from
- 18:14Speaker 17: home and Wiggins, what do you think you've seen from
- 18:16Speaker 17: him that maybe gives you confidence he can take the
- 18:20Speaker 17: reins as offensive coordinator and be successful moving forward.
- 18:23Speaker 15: Yeah, Coach Wiggins is awesome. I mean he's a dear
- 18:25Speaker 15: friend and we've gotten extremely close to these last two years.
- 18:28Speaker 15: And his attention to detail his care for the kids.
- 18:33Speaker 15: You know, I mean, I mean he's an all around
- 18:34Speaker 15: football coach. I mean he's not just a receivers coach.
- 18:37Speaker 15: I mean he understands all three levels, how they all
- 18:40Speaker 15: fit together, limitations and structures and how that all goes,
- 18:45Speaker 15: understands quarterback play, and I respect the heck out of
- 18:48Speaker 15: him in every area, and so proud and excited for
- 18:52Speaker 15: him to be able to carry on kind of kind
- 18:55Speaker 15: of what we've built here and what the kids have done,
- 18:58Speaker 15: you know, to lay the foundation for what I believe
- 19:01Speaker 15: is a lot of good years to come, and for
- 19:03Speaker 15: him to be able to lead that. As you know,
- 19:05Speaker 15: there truly is no one better.
- 19:08Speaker 14: Right side front Carter Carrol's from two four seven and
- 19:10Speaker 14: then Travis Hey Colin.
- 19:13Speaker 18: There's been reports about Titian's coach, Christian Elsworth following you
- 19:18Speaker 18: over to K State.
- 19:19Speaker 7: Is that true?
- 19:20Speaker 18: And just are there any other guys you expect to
- 19:22Speaker 18: kind of follow you over there.
- 19:23Speaker 15: There's a lot of things in flux right now, and
- 19:26Speaker 15: you know, probably can't comment too much on this, you know,
- 19:28Speaker 15: at this moment in time, but as things become clear
- 19:31Speaker 15: kind of through this process, it'll it'll hopefully take shape.
- 19:35Speaker 18: And then as far as levon Moscow is just how's
- 19:38Speaker 18: he kind of handled his time off and what do
- 19:41Speaker 18: you think he'd bring to the office offense if he's
- 19:43Speaker 18: able to come back.
- 19:44Speaker 15: Yeah, I mean I love Lev, I mean, shoot all
- 19:46Speaker 15: of those guys and in him, just how he's attacked
- 19:49Speaker 15: his rehab, how he's attacked the process through it and
- 19:52Speaker 15: like he always does head first, you know, and so
- 19:56Speaker 15: seeing him be able to move around again and feel
- 19:59Speaker 15: good about you know, where he's at and feel comfortable,
- 20:03Speaker 15: you know, obviously really excited for him to be able
- 20:06Speaker 15: to finish, you know, truly the way he wants to
- 20:11Speaker 15: Travis Brown.
- 20:12Speaker 7: From kep Tis and then Rob.
- 20:14Speaker 19: Yeah, just on on film, what challenges does the Miami
- 20:17Speaker 19: defense present.
- 20:19Speaker 15: Their front seven is really really good. You know, they
- 20:22Speaker 15: really get after the passer, they get off and shed blocks.
- 20:27Speaker 15: You know, they pursue the football and you know, our
- 20:30Speaker 15: our keep you on edge schematically that you know, you
- 20:34Speaker 15: can't just fall asleep and take things for granted.
- 20:36Speaker 7: So it's a it's a really good unit.
- 20:38Speaker 19: And then I know we would talked to Mike about
- 20:41Speaker 19: just kind of the calendar of the coaching carousel and
- 20:43Speaker 19: where it falls in and how there's not really he says,
- 20:46Speaker 19: much you can change from how difficult is it for
- 20:49Speaker 19: to have to be making these changes in this time
- 20:52Speaker 19: while everything is going around, both on the field and
- 20:55Speaker 19: personally too.
- 20:55Speaker 15: Yeah, I mean, I don't think there's I don't think
- 20:58Speaker 15: there's a perfect time or a per calendar that that
- 21:01Speaker 15: anybody could come up with. Change is always hard, you know.
- 21:05Speaker 15: And and but at the same time.
- 21:06Speaker 7: Like.
- 21:08Speaker 15: It's what we preach to our players from day one,
- 21:11Speaker 15: with all the distractions in their world that is in
- 21:13Speaker 15: college football nowadays, that that wasn't the case even when
- 21:16Speaker 15: I was playing of you know, hey, you've got to
- 21:19Speaker 15: be in the now. You've got to be where your
- 21:20Speaker 15: feet are, and you've got to do your very very
- 21:21Speaker 15: best that you possibly can for those guys next to
- 21:24Speaker 15: you because they're counting on you.
- 21:26Speaker 7: And and so.
- 21:27Speaker 15: That's that's kind of the mindset that we as coaches.
- 21:30Speaker 15: And there's you know a few other people similar around
- 21:33Speaker 15: the country that are kind of in this situation that
- 21:36Speaker 15: you know, that's truly how you have to walk it
- 21:37Speaker 15: out off.
- 21:39Speaker 14: Said middle to Rob from Aline Illustrated How to Coach.
- 21:43Speaker 20: So a couple of years ago, I'm on a golf
- 21:45Speaker 20: course in Manhattan, Kansas. Guys, he's my Aggie bag and
- 21:48Speaker 20: and he says, hey, take care of our guy. I
- 21:51Speaker 20: know it's it's your dream to go back there about
- 21:54Speaker 20: but what can you say? Did we take care of
- 21:56Speaker 20: you here?
- 21:56Speaker 13: What?
- 21:56Speaker 12: What will you remember most about Aggie Lamb.
- 21:58Speaker 15: Oh, my gosh, beyond I mean, our experience has been
- 22:02Speaker 15: me and my wife shaling our family like it's it's
- 22:04Speaker 15: been over the top. And and not that you ever,
- 22:07Speaker 15: we had high expectations. You never know what you expect,
- 22:09Speaker 15: but this place is special. It's it's blown every expectation
- 22:14Speaker 15: we had out of the water. The people are incredible,
- 22:17Speaker 15: the value systems incredible. Are our players and the people
- 22:22Speaker 15: you know that that coach Hoko has brought into this
- 22:24Speaker 15: program or our friends and family for life and and
- 22:29Speaker 15: that that's gonna be really hard to leave because they're
- 22:31Speaker 15: they're just it's it's family and could be more honored
- 22:34Speaker 15: to have been a part of this this family the
- 22:36Speaker 15: last two years.
- 22:38Speaker 14: We're gonna take some questions from zoom, so no one
- 22:40Speaker 14: in the back right, we'll read them.
- 22:43Speaker 21: First question from the zoom feed is from Luke Cheney
- 22:45Speaker 21: of Cane Sport. What stands out to you about Miami's
- 22:48Speaker 21: secondary and what challenges might they present.
- 22:50Speaker 15: Well, I think they have really really good length. You know,
- 22:53Speaker 15: I think they run well. You know, I think they
- 22:56Speaker 15: really are tied into quarterback eyes and are able to
- 23:00Speaker 15: track the football. You can see that they pattern match
- 23:04Speaker 15: and understand what teams are going to try to do
- 23:06Speaker 15: to them in certain coverages. So they play smart and
- 23:09Speaker 15: play fast, and you know, they play really hard.
- 23:14Speaker 21: Next question is from Brian Davis at The Houston Chronicle.
- 23:18Speaker 21: You're about to step away from A and M and
- 23:19Speaker 21: leave Marcel Reid. What do you think about the progress
- 23:22Speaker 21: he's made as a player, as a person and morphed
- 23:24Speaker 21: into the leader of a CFP level program. What's going
- 23:27Speaker 21: to be your main takeaway of his development?
- 23:31Speaker 7: Well?
- 23:31Speaker 15: I love Marcel, and you know, change is always bittersweet
- 23:35Speaker 15: because he he and I and in our relationship and
- 23:40Speaker 15: what we've gone through the last two years and the
- 23:42Speaker 15: stepth of growth and progress that he's made and that
- 23:45Speaker 15: he's helped lead our offense make and our program make
- 23:48Speaker 15: is really hard to put into words, you know, to
- 23:51Speaker 15: be honest, and that relationship will will last a lifetime.
- 23:58Speaker 21: And then the next question is from Kirks of the
- 24:00Speaker 21: Houston Chronicle. As you make the transition over to Kansas State,
- 24:04Speaker 21: how aggressive do you plan to be in recruiting in
- 24:06Speaker 21: the state of Texas in the future.
- 24:09Speaker 15: Well, I think it's you know, I think most importantly,
- 24:14Speaker 15: you know, when you're when you're leading a program, it's
- 24:17Speaker 15: it's trying to find the right fits and the right
- 24:21Speaker 15: people and the right type of players in those positions.
- 24:25Speaker 15: And Texas has a lot of those, right and so
- 24:29Speaker 15: you know, probably like most powerful programs anymore in this
- 24:32Speaker 15: day and age, it's going to be a pretty national
- 24:35Speaker 15: effort for sure, and there's definitely a lot of good
- 24:37Speaker 15: players in Texas.
- 24:39Speaker 14: Let's go back to TV road on the left side
- 24:42Speaker 14: to Tyler from kt.
- 24:43Speaker 7: X Colin Heaven. You know leyvon back for the playoffs.
- 24:47Speaker 7: What kind of wrinkle does that add to this offense?
- 24:50Speaker 7: I mean, something you haven't had in a few months.
- 24:52Speaker 15: Well, I mean, it's always good to have a sledgehammer
- 24:55Speaker 15: in the bag.
- 24:57Speaker 7: No, I mean, he's awesome.
- 24:59Speaker 15: I mean, and it's it's probably a little unfair just
- 25:01Speaker 15: because I mean our running back room.
- 25:03Speaker 7: I mean, we've been able to run the.
- 25:04Speaker 15: Ball through the course of the season, even since he
- 25:06Speaker 15: got hurt at a really really high clip, so obviously
- 25:10Speaker 15: really excited about him, happy for him, you know, to
- 25:13Speaker 15: be able to finish this season and be able to
- 25:15Speaker 15: get back out there on the field, and want him
- 25:18Speaker 15: to finish strong, and obviously he is. He's a difference
- 25:21Speaker 15: maker when he's got the ball in his hands.
- 25:23Speaker 14: Let's side front to Tony from the Austin American Statesman.
- 25:26Speaker 12: And Coleton calling.
- 25:27Speaker 22: You obviously practice against the best third down defense in
- 25:29Speaker 22: the car trie you get it. But you know, Miami
- 25:31Speaker 22: comes in as the top ten unit. When you look
- 25:34Speaker 22: at a team that's so successful and third down, does
- 25:36Speaker 22: it change your approach at all in first and second
- 25:38Speaker 22: with how you kind of scheme and try to win
- 25:39Speaker 22: those early downs.
- 25:41Speaker 7: There are no doubt.
- 25:41Speaker 15: I mean, then the best way to win third and
- 25:43Speaker 15: longest stay out of it, and that is a that
- 25:45Speaker 15: is a proven fact. But I think you know, I mean,
- 25:49Speaker 15: their two edges put a lot of pressure on you,
- 25:52Speaker 15: you know, as far as their ability to get to
- 25:54Speaker 15: the quarterback. You know, and then if you try to
- 25:57Speaker 15: chip or max protect or whatever it is you try
- 25:59Speaker 15: to do well, then you take people out of the
- 26:01Speaker 15: concept and kind of lose advantage. Down the field, and
- 26:04Speaker 15: so it's a you know, it's going to be a
- 26:07Speaker 15: back and forth game and trying to find the line
- 26:09Speaker 15: of how aggressive we're able to be when to be aggressive,
- 26:14Speaker 15: and you know, we have to stay on the field.
- 26:16Speaker 7: So it's it's gonna be a big challenge for us
- 26:19Speaker 7: on the left side.
- 26:20Speaker 20: Colton from SI Party coach, I'm curious to see what
- 26:24Speaker 20: you've seen from the tight ends these last couple of
- 26:26Speaker 20: weeks at practice and what they've meant to this offense.
- 26:29Speaker 15: Well, I think, first of all, every single one of them,
- 26:32Speaker 15: I think are some of our hardest practice players on
- 26:35Speaker 15: the on the roster. I mean every single day, every
- 26:37Speaker 15: one of those guys. The way they approach their work,
- 26:39Speaker 15: the way they attack their work, the way they finish
- 26:41Speaker 15: every drill, every rep like it's a it's a credit
- 26:44Speaker 15: to Christian and that entire room of of the edge
- 26:47Speaker 15: that they have played with and brought to our offense.
- 26:49Speaker 15: And they they do a lot of things probably behind
- 26:53Speaker 15: the scenes that maybe are not front and center, that
- 26:55Speaker 15: that make everything go.
- 26:56Speaker 7: And so.
- 26:58Speaker 15: And it's been a We've got very balanced production out
- 27:01Speaker 15: of it too, where it's not just one guy, you know,
- 27:03Speaker 15: and they've really embraced that to understand that it's a
- 27:07Speaker 15: group effort and everyone's going to get an opportunity at
- 27:10Speaker 15: some point and a very happy when the other person
- 27:13Speaker 15: gets that opportunity, and definitely of glue and integral part
- 27:19Speaker 15: of what we've done.
- 27:21Speaker 7: We'll get a couple more zoom questions go back to No.
- 27:23Speaker 21: One since from Adam Rittenberg of ESPN, What are some
- 27:32Speaker 21: of the things you cut back on right now to
- 27:33Speaker 21: save time given your added responsibilities of doing two jobs
- 27:37Speaker 21: at once during the CFP period.
- 27:40Speaker 15: Well, I don't think, you know, there's really a whole
- 27:44Speaker 15: lot from a game planning perspective, because the routine is
- 27:48Speaker 15: the routine, the process is the process.
- 27:51Speaker 7: Being able to have two.
- 27:53Speaker 15: Weeks to kind of put it together has definitely helped
- 27:56Speaker 15: get ahead on some of that work.
- 27:58Speaker 7: But really try not to.
- 28:00Speaker 15: Make it any different for our players, any different for
- 28:04Speaker 15: our staff. Just to try to stay in that routine
- 28:07Speaker 15: because that is the now and that's what we have
- 28:12Speaker 15: to have to focus on, all right.
- 28:14Speaker 1: That's the OC Colin Klein getting ready for the Canes
- 28:21Speaker 1: on Saturday, and depending on what happens, getting ready for
- 28:25Speaker 1: the buck Eyes or heading back to Manhattan and getting
- 28:30Speaker 1: Kansas State turned around. Okay, guys, we're getting serious. Now.
- 28:38Speaker 1: It's this weekend and a couple of days next week,

- 31:14Speaker 13: Season's greetings do you Andrew family from all of us
- 31:18Speaker 13: here here at the Zone Zoneys.
- 31:30Speaker 27: Welcome to the High School Report.
- 31:31Speaker 28: I'm Att Williams, and today we're going out to the
- 31:33Speaker 28: Polaris Fun Center phone line to visit with head basketball
- 31:35Speaker 28: coach for the Magnolia Bulldogs, Dereck Kane. Thank you for
- 31:38Speaker 28: joining us.
- 31:39Speaker 7: How you doing today?
- 31:40Speaker 29: I'm doing great.
- 31:41Speaker 28: You've had an incredibly improved season so far this year
- 31:44Speaker 28: compared to last year. What lessons did you take from
- 31:47Speaker 28: last season into this season and why do you think
- 31:49Speaker 28: this program has done so much better?
- 31:51Speaker 29: Well, I think last year being the first year in
- 31:55Speaker 29: sixth A, you know, there's a you know, it's basically
- 31:58Speaker 29: a whole new level we had to surprised to and
- 32:02Speaker 29: I think it kind of took a year for the
- 32:03Speaker 29: kids to see with what uh, what it's gonna take.
- 32:07Speaker 29: And we have a great group of kids that worked
- 32:10Speaker 29: hard all summer, and uh, we're able to improve on
- 32:13Speaker 29: what we what we did last year. Last year, we
- 32:17Speaker 29: uh yeah, I think our our our record struggled, but
- 32:21Speaker 29: uh but ultimately we were we were we competed in
- 32:23Speaker 29: a lot of the games we lost, and so we
- 32:25Speaker 29: knew we were right on the edge of being able
- 32:27Speaker 29: to show beast improvement.
- 32:29Speaker 27: Mm hmm.
- 32:30Speaker 28: And what do you think really pushed you over that edge?
- 32:33Speaker 29: Well, I think, uh, you know, I got uh, we
- 32:36Speaker 29: have a senior does Solomon's playing really well, and we
- 32:40Speaker 29: have a really good group of sophomores that are really
- 32:44Speaker 29: uh really doing really well the first year of varsity
- 32:47Speaker 29: players that are you know, kind of pushing us over
- 32:53Speaker 29: that edge. And uh, you know, we're not doing a
- 32:56Speaker 29: lot different than we were last year. It's just uh,
- 32:59Speaker 29: it's just we we've worked hard and improved.
- 33:02Speaker 28: M hm. And you mentioned that you entered six A
- 33:05Speaker 28: last year. What do you think the biggest challenge of
- 33:07Speaker 28: that transition has been.
- 33:09Speaker 29: It's uh, you know, bigger, bigger, stronger, faster kids that
- 33:13Speaker 29: are more skilled and so you know, when you're one
- 33:19Speaker 29: of the smaller, you know, in six A, there's no
- 33:21Speaker 29: limits to how many kids other schools have. You know,
- 33:23Speaker 29: we're playing against really big schools and it's just everybody's bigger, strong,
- 33:29Speaker 29: and faster. And then where in five A you might
- 33:32Speaker 29: be able to you know, there's really athletic good teams,
- 33:35Speaker 29: but the six eight teams have had plus the skills
- 33:40Speaker 29: involved with that, there's not a lot of weaknesses out
- 33:43Speaker 29: there to expose.
- 33:45Speaker 28: Yeah, who graduated the last season that left the big
- 33:48Speaker 28: shoes to fill? And who do you think has really
- 33:50Speaker 28: stepped up this season to fill those shoes?
- 33:52Speaker 12: Well?
- 33:52Speaker 29: As far as graduate, I would say, I think we
- 33:54Speaker 29: had nine seniors graduate last year. Week we we basically returned.
- 33:59Speaker 29: We returned three, but we returned two that had any
- 34:02Speaker 29: playing time. And so it's really a whole new season,
- 34:06Speaker 29: a whole new team, and and they have just really
- 34:12Speaker 29: meshed well together and they've been really open to learning,
- 34:17Speaker 29: and we have a group of kids that wants to
- 34:19Speaker 29: improve and they were willing to work hard for it.
- 34:22Speaker 29: And so it's been been a lot of fun coaching
- 34:26Speaker 29: this new group. Even though we lost so much, we
- 34:29Speaker 29: didn't feel like we lost a lot in the like
- 34:32Speaker 29: we knew the kids that were coming up were capable
- 34:35Speaker 29: of filling those shoes that left and uh, and they've
- 34:39Speaker 29: done a great.
- 34:40Speaker 30: Job doing it.
- 34:40Speaker 28: Yeah, and who do you think is leaving the season
- 34:43Speaker 28: that's going to be difficult to replace on the court.
- 34:45Speaker 28: Do you have a lot of seniors graduating?
- 34:47Speaker 29: Yeah, we're have four and like right now Areseph Solomon
- 34:54Speaker 29: has been our best player up to this point. He's
- 34:56Speaker 29: he can't he played football and then he came over
- 34:59Speaker 29: and he's really he's really completed our team. He's averaging
- 35:04Speaker 29: twenty one points in district play so far, and he
- 35:08Speaker 29: will uh, he brings the ball up for us. He's
- 35:11Speaker 29: our he plays a great defense. He's been tough, and
- 35:15Speaker 29: so he handles a lot of the pressure for the
- 35:17Speaker 29: younger guys and allows him to the play the game
- 35:20Speaker 29: without without as much pressure on him. And so that's uh,
- 35:24Speaker 29: that's been uh that he'll be tough. It'll be tough
- 35:27Speaker 29: to fill issues, but somebody always does. And and then
- 35:31Speaker 29: we have a sophomore reached Settlemyri's six six teetering on
- 35:36Speaker 29: six seven and uh, then uh, he has been an
- 35:40Speaker 29: anchor for our defense and so really when we struggled offensively,
- 35:45Speaker 29: he uh, our defense is held up and that's on
- 35:48Speaker 29: a lot of our a lot of our wins. We
- 35:51Speaker 29: we have struggled offensively, but we uh we've been able
- 35:55Speaker 29: to hold teams from scoring. Uh and and uh that's
- 36:00Speaker 29: really helped us to win win a lot of these games.
- 36:03Speaker 28: Yeah, you faced clin Forrest and your last game, what
- 36:08Speaker 28: do you think went well and where do you think
- 36:09Speaker 28: your team was challenged.
- 36:12Speaker 29: It's always tough to win on a road on the road.
- 36:15Speaker 29: I don't think we won a district road game last year,
- 36:17Speaker 29: and and and now we went to Clown Force, which
- 36:20Speaker 29: is always a tough place to play. Uh and so
- 36:24Speaker 29: uh we turned the ball over too much uh and
- 36:30Speaker 29: uh and so that was a struggle to capitalize. It's
- 36:35Speaker 29: hard to score when you're throwing the ball to the
- 36:36Speaker 29: other team. But so we uh we were able to
- 36:40Speaker 29: Like our defense went well. We were able to we
- 36:42Speaker 29: were able to really bear down in the second half
- 36:44Speaker 29: and get stops and and then we finally got our
- 36:47Speaker 29: offense going and we shot really good from inside. We
- 36:51Speaker 29: we won the battle of the points and the paint
- 36:53Speaker 29: and uh and and we struggled to shoot from outside,
- 36:58Speaker 29: but we we were able to to finish around the rim.
- 37:01Speaker 1: That really helps up MHM.
- 37:03Speaker 28: And you face Client Collins tomorrow, which is the nineteenth.
- 37:06Speaker 28: What are you expecting out of them? And how do
- 37:08Speaker 28: you think your team play styles will clash on the court?
- 37:12Speaker 29: Uh, Client Collins is uh is really good. We think
- 37:16Speaker 29: they're one of the best teams in the district. And
- 37:19Speaker 29: uh they they think they can score a lot of points,
- 37:23Speaker 29: so they have a pretty high powered offense. And uh,
- 37:26Speaker 29: I think are it'll be interesting to see because we
- 37:29Speaker 29: were pretty solid defensively and so they're very very good offensively,
- 37:34Speaker 29: So we'll see how that clashes. And and then uh,
- 37:38Speaker 29: I think to get this win, we're gonna have to
- 37:41Speaker 29: We're gonna have to make we've been we've been executing
- 37:45Speaker 29: well and getting getting the shots we wanted, and now
- 37:48Speaker 29: it's time to beat a team like Clan Collins, We're
- 37:50Speaker 29: gonna have to make make a higher percentage of those
- 37:52Speaker 29: shots who've been taken, you know, So we need to
- 37:55Speaker 29: we need our players to really step up and and
- 37:58Speaker 29: and knock down those open shots we've been get.
- 38:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 38:01Speaker 28: Absolutely, last two questions for you here, coach, looking ahead,
- 38:05Speaker 28: what are your biggest goals for the Magnolia basketball program
- 38:07Speaker 28: the next three to five years?
- 38:10Speaker 29: Three to five years, I mean, we're always trying to
- 38:12Speaker 29: be uh uh district champions. We're trying to be city
- 38:16Speaker 29: champions and and uh and then we're trying to make
- 38:20Speaker 29: a playoff run after that, you know. So uh that's
- 38:23Speaker 29: that's always our goal. And and really I I uh,
- 38:27Speaker 29: I take it more of like a like a day
- 38:30Speaker 29: to day, game to game approach for for for our goals.
- 38:34Speaker 29: And I'm thinking, we're just trying to get get a
- 38:36Speaker 29: little better every day.
- 38:37Speaker 3: And so.
- 38:40Speaker 29: Ultimately I want to see our kids improve from the
- 38:42Speaker 29: last game to this game and always try to work
- 38:45Speaker 29: in a year after year, just just keep getting better
- 38:48Speaker 29: and so and I think if you do that, I
- 38:50Speaker 29: think if you follow that process, I think the results
- 38:53Speaker 29: will speak for themselves at that point for sure.
- 38:56Speaker 28: And you kind of touched on this for this last question.
- 38:59Speaker 28: How do you as a couch to find success both
- 39:01Speaker 28: on and off the court besides just wins and losses.
- 39:04Speaker 29: Yeah, I mean, we're we're trying to I think most
- 39:07Speaker 29: people to get into coaching, you know, you know, are
- 39:09Speaker 29: in it for the kids, and you know, they get
- 39:13Speaker 29: four years at it and we'll be here long after them.
- 39:17Speaker 29: But we want to give them a great experience and
- 39:20Speaker 29: we want to make them great men when they leave us,
- 39:23Speaker 29: and I really want them to. Uh. I think we,
- 39:27Speaker 29: like I said, we we judge success on on how
- 39:31Speaker 29: much we improve and and and did we maximize our
- 39:35Speaker 29: God given abilities that we have, and so you know,
- 39:38Speaker 29: you know, sometimes it might not result in a win.
- 39:41Speaker 29: You know, sometimes you you know, some somebody's just better
- 39:44Speaker 29: than you. But we are always going to compete and
- 39:46Speaker 29: we're always going to try to try to get better
- 39:48Speaker 29: the next day.
- 39:50Speaker 28: Very well, put coach, thank you so much for your time.
- 39:53Speaker 29: Hey, thank you anytime, sir.

- 45:29Speaker 1: how are you man?
- 45:32Speaker 12: I'm so good?
- 45:33Speaker 35: You know, I don't really know how it was I
- 45:35Speaker 35: could possibly be doing right now if I was saying,
- 45:39Speaker 35: but I'm doing so good.
- 45:41Speaker 12: It's been it's been such a journey.
- 45:42Speaker 35: It's been such a ride to finally be at the
- 45:45Speaker 35: end of one chapter and about to open a new one.
- 45:48Speaker 35: Like it's a really it's a really special time, really
- 45:50Speaker 35: special time of year. I can't wait to see friends,
- 45:52Speaker 35: can't to see family.
- 45:54Speaker 1: I mean, you're a you're on a fast train right now.
- 45:56Speaker 1: It's been about forty eight hours. If you had any
- 45:59Speaker 1: chance at all to stop and think what just happened?
- 46:04Speaker 3: You know.
- 46:04Speaker 35: The interviews helped, like honestly, like some people dread interviews,
- 46:08Speaker 35: but honestly, like I'm thankful for them because obviously it's publicity,
- 46:11Speaker 35: but also like on a deeper level, like like I
- 46:15Speaker 35: they actually helped me reflect, Like the questions that I'm asked,
- 46:17Speaker 35: I'm like, you know, like, like, I feel like I
- 46:19Speaker 35: wouldn't have asked myself without having done.
- 46:20Speaker 12: The interview, and I'm like, you know, that actually is
- 46:22Speaker 12: a great question.
- 46:23Speaker 35: I think it's really important that, like I know the
- 46:24Speaker 35: answer to that, not just because like just in case
- 46:27Speaker 35: people ask me, but also because it's important for me
- 46:29Speaker 35: to know for myself.
- 46:31Speaker 12: But yeah, it's been really great.
- 46:33Speaker 1: So the question is this is finals week, Hereda, and
- 46:37Speaker 1: what's going on with your academics?
- 46:40Speaker 35: You know, I was fortunate enough to work hard enough
- 46:43Speaker 35: and get lucky enough to have a pretty killer prof
- 46:46Speaker 35: that for my online class. I was able to finish
- 46:48Speaker 35: and take my final before I left for LA.
- 46:53Speaker 12: So it's funny.
- 46:54Speaker 35: I wrapped up my infinite finals and came to LA
- 46:58Speaker 35: and wrapped up my voice.
- 47:02Speaker 12: Aids across the board.
- 47:04Speaker 1: That's that's that's not a normal student, my friend.
- 47:08Speaker 12: Yeah, it's pretty funny. Honestly, it's kind of funny.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Hey, the big question is are you gonna be at
- 47:13Speaker 1: Kyle Field Saturday morning?
- 47:16Speaker 35: Oh? Man, I wish I'm gonna be stuck in LA,
- 47:18Speaker 35: but my Aggie spirit, with every fiber of my body
- 47:21Speaker 35: will be there and I'll definitely be at like A
- 47:23Speaker 35: and M the future at a m basketball games and stuff.
- 47:25Speaker 35: You know, I'm a I'm a full blooded Aggie to
- 47:29Speaker 35: my core, born and raised, so you'll definitely people were
- 47:32Speaker 35: definitely catching me around.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Hey on the social media. I saw the Billboard today
- 47:36Speaker 1: and m put up in Hollywood. That was pretty cool.
- 47:40Speaker 12: What a special thing?
- 47:41Speaker 29: Right?
- 47:41Speaker 12: Wow? Like that was so cool? Man's surreality?
- 47:45Speaker 1: How surprising was that when you saw that?
- 47:49Speaker 12: I My jaws like dropped a little more.
- 47:53Speaker 35: I was.
- 47:54Speaker 12: I was in a video of it first, and I
- 47:56Speaker 12: was like, yeah, that's a I. It was. It was
- 48:00Speaker 12: not a I.
- 48:01Speaker 35: It was on suns at Boulevard and that is that
- 48:04Speaker 35: was me? And it is the best I don't know.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Like so blessed to have such a strong, tight knit Yeah.
- 48:11Speaker 35: Also community, Like it's very rare to have such a
- 48:14Speaker 35: big communities as tight en it as ours is.
- 48:16Speaker 1: My guess is you've heard from a few Aggies and
- 48:19Speaker 1: some of some of whom you probably don't know.
- 48:23Speaker 35: Yeah, there's a lot of text messages and some from numbers.
- 48:27Speaker 12: That I did not have saved that I'm going through.
- 48:29Speaker 35: But you know, man, honestly, I'm grateful for all of them,
- 48:32Speaker 35: thankful for all of it, Like to be so loved
- 48:34Speaker 35: and supported is like to be blessed.
- 48:35Speaker 12: So just definitely trying to take it in and uh
- 48:38Speaker 12: like acknowledge everybody.
- 48:40Speaker 1: So tell us what your schedules like right now? What's
- 48:43Speaker 1: what's on the schedule. I know it's pretty full.
- 48:46Speaker 35: You know, it's a incent on interviews, It's a insane
- 48:50Speaker 35: amount of content that's going to be in the works.
- 48:54Speaker 35: And there's gonna be a song that's gonna be coming
- 48:55Speaker 35: out pretty soon here that I'm super excited to start
- 48:58Speaker 35: dropping some stuff off that I people are gonna love
- 49:00Speaker 35: a lot and I'm.
- 49:02Speaker 12: Super excited about.
- 49:03Speaker 1: So, with everything that's going on and with all of
- 49:06Speaker 1: the schedule, have you had any time to write anything
- 49:10Speaker 1: or will that have to wait a little bit?
- 49:13Speaker 13: Man?
- 49:14Speaker 35: Like, I'm a I'm a singer. I'm a performer. That's
- 49:17Speaker 35: who I am to about my core. But a piece
- 49:19Speaker 35: of who I am to my core is also being
- 49:21Speaker 35: a writer. And so like I like, like, I like,
- 49:24Speaker 35: even if I didn't have time, like I made time.
- 49:27Speaker 12: Like that's something that I just do.
- 49:28Speaker 35: Like it's not something I like, I I have to
- 49:31Speaker 35: like really set up a set set aside time to do.
- 49:34Speaker 12: It's something that I just do because it's who I am.
- 49:37Speaker 35: So I have a lot of music that I'm excited
- 49:39Speaker 35: to like be like producing and releasing and like showing
- 49:41Speaker 35: the world.
- 49:42Speaker 1: When we talked before the knockout rounds, I asked you
- 49:45Speaker 1: about Nile. I think I read now that Nile is
- 49:48Speaker 1: three and.
- 49:49Speaker 35: Oh yeah, the man is undefeated on the show.
- 49:54Speaker 1: So tell me about the process between that time when
- 49:57Speaker 1: we spoke at Monday night. How did Nile approach that
- 50:02Speaker 1: with you?
- 50:03Speaker 6: Oh?
- 50:03Speaker 35: Man, Nile, honestly, he did, like he did exactly what
- 50:08Speaker 35: he should have done. I was I was ready to
- 50:11Speaker 35: treat this like it was the NBA Finals and like
- 50:14Speaker 35: it was like literally just like like it was like
- 50:17Speaker 35: I was getting in my head about it and I
- 50:18Speaker 35: was like I was taking it almost a little bit
- 50:20Speaker 35: too seriously.
- 50:21Speaker 12: But now grounded me and he was like, look, man,
- 50:23Speaker 12: like your best performance is gonna be the one where
- 50:25Speaker 12: you're having fun and where you love what you're doing.
- 50:27Speaker 35: He was like, dude, like not that this isn't a
- 50:29Speaker 35: big deal, but you got to treat it like just
- 50:30Speaker 35: another performance, like like at the.
- 50:33Speaker 12: End of the day, like why are you doing this?
- 50:34Speaker 35: Like it's because you love it, because it's fun to
- 50:36Speaker 35: you and like you want to spread joy to others,
- 50:38Speaker 35: And so I just held onto kind of those three principles,
- 50:41Speaker 35: and I think that's what really brought it home honestly
- 50:43Speaker 35: above all else.
- 50:45Speaker 1: You know, you you will have concert, you will go on,
- 50:49Speaker 1: you will do stuff. But I can't imagine you will
- 50:52Speaker 1: have more pressure than you had Monday night with that
- 50:56Speaker 1: live performance.
- 50:58Speaker 12: Oh man, yeah a lot.
- 51:01Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 51:01Speaker 12: The pressure.
- 51:02Speaker 35: Pressure is something that I've like really grown in honestly,
- 51:04Speaker 35: Like I'm the bl Like when the blind auditions were there,
- 51:07Speaker 35: Like it's funny, like I was, I was, it was,
- 51:11Speaker 35: it was. It is unbelievable to like reflect on and
- 51:14Speaker 35: see like how less nervous I was for the finale
- 51:18Speaker 35: of the voice then for my blind audition. I've just
- 51:21Speaker 35: grown so much as an artist and as a person,
- 51:23Speaker 35: Like I'm confident in my ability. Like it's not that
- 51:26Speaker 35: I think I'm the best, but I think, like I
- 51:28Speaker 35: think there's a space for me in the world. Like
- 51:30Speaker 35: I know not everybody's gonna love me, but like I
- 51:34Speaker 35: I am happy with myself and like I am happy
- 51:37Speaker 35: with what I do, and more importantly than that, even
- 51:40Speaker 35: like I'm just happy to be doing it, and like
- 51:41Speaker 35: I love what I do, Like that's the most important
- 51:43Speaker 35: thing to me.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Was there a point before Monday night that you allowed
- 51:48Speaker 1: yourself to think, Hey, I might win this thing.
- 51:52Speaker 27: You know?
- 51:53Speaker 35: I was so I was so much more focused on
- 51:55Speaker 35: the fact that I wanted to win it that that
- 51:58Speaker 35: question didn't even really that didn't even really come up.
- 52:00Speaker 12: Like I just I was so focused, and I.
- 52:02Speaker 35: Was like, like, man, like I've been watch dude, I've
- 52:05Speaker 35: been watching the show since season one. I was six
- 52:07Speaker 35: years old with my family and our living room watching
- 52:09Speaker 35: the show, and like we've been watching it ever since.
- 52:12Speaker 35: And to be on the other side of the screen,
- 52:15Speaker 35: like I was like, I mean yeah, like I was like,
- 52:19Speaker 35: I mean to see like like like when it got
- 52:21Speaker 35: to just me and Ralph the final two, we thought
- 52:25Speaker 35: the winner was gonna be.
- 52:25Speaker 12: Announced, and then that stupid commercial came up. Oh my god,
