- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 0:06Speaker 1: where we left off with the Bill Gates transcript from
- 0:10Speaker 1: his conversation with Congress. Question sure, answer, I believe that
- 0:15Speaker 1: he found out about the affairs through doctor Nikolich. Question
- 0:19Speaker 1: did you ever ask doctor Nikolich to do anything morally
- 0:22Speaker 1: inappropriate or unethically unsound? Answer? While he was involved, he
- 0:27Speaker 1: knew that I had spent time with the women I
- 0:29Speaker 1: had affairs with, so only in that sense. Question how
- 0:32Speaker 1: did he know that? Answer? You know one time it
- 0:35Speaker 1: was scheduling thing when we were in London, where I
- 0:38Speaker 1: said to him I was going to disappear and wanted
- 0:41Speaker 1: him to show that I was meeting with them at
- 0:43Speaker 1: the time. Question, so you used them as an alibi
- 0:46Speaker 1: to meet with a woman? Is a fair question? That
- 0:49Speaker 1: is correct? Question did he know the name of a
- 0:51Speaker 1: woman at the time? Answer? At some point I mentioned
- 0:54Speaker 1: the name to him. Question did you ever ask doctor
- 0:57Speaker 1: Nikolich to do anything that was potentially illegal? Answer no. Question.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Did doctor Nikolch ever assist you in acquiring drugs? Answer no?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Question did you ever ask him to acquire you drugs?
- 1:10Speaker 1: Answer no. Question was doctor Nikolich a medical doctor? Answer?
- 1:15Speaker 1: I think he was a research doctor. Question did he
- 1:18Speaker 1: have prescribing authority? Do you know? Answer? I don't understand
- 1:21Speaker 1: that question. To be clear, you don't understand the question
- 1:25Speaker 1: or you don't understand prescribing authority. Answer I'm not sure
- 1:29Speaker 1: whether he had prescribing authority. It never came up. Question,
- 1:32Speaker 1: So do you have any guesses as to why doctor
- 1:35Speaker 1: Nikolch or Jeffrey Epstein believed that you had asked doctor
- 1:38Speaker 1: Nikolch to acquire drugs for you? Answer? I don't have
- 1:42Speaker 1: any awareness that doctor Nikolch ever saw the email. Is
- 1:45Speaker 1: that are you suggesting he did? Question? I'm asking you
- 1:48Speaker 1: if you have any context you can share of why
- 1:51Speaker 1: either Epstein or Nickolitch believe that. Answer. I don't question.
- 1:55Speaker 1: You've already acknowledged that you engaged in infidelity. Have you
- 1:59Speaker 1: discussed one of the one of the two women that
- 2:01Speaker 1: you've acknowledged, who's the second woman? Answer? Her name is
- 2:05Speaker 1: Karima Nigma Tulina. Mister Moran jumps in and I'll just
- 2:11Speaker 1: say as we go forward, you know, as you've seen,
- 2:13Speaker 1: mister Gates is here addressing obviously very sensitive topics with
- 2:17Speaker 1: the committee as they relate to Jeffrey Epstein. We know
- 2:20Speaker 1: that there's also a lot of public interest in the
- 2:22Speaker 1: details of these private affairs that aren't pertinent to Jeffrey Epstein,
- 2:27Speaker 1: who had no involvement in those other than learning about
- 2:30Speaker 1: them after the fact, And so mister Gates will probably
- 2:33Speaker 1: seek to decline to divulge details that are not related
- 2:36Speaker 1: to Jeffrey Epstein, as this is right, But as you've
- 2:39Speaker 1: seen so far, he's here to answer the committee's questions,
- 2:43Speaker 1: and we appreciate the committee and that they've handled this sensitively.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Question where both of these women are Russian? Answer yes,
- 2:51Speaker 1: question again the draft email, which I understand you have
- 2:54Speaker 1: not seen, were first to sex with Russian girls? Just
- 2:57Speaker 1: for the record, how old were these women during the
- 3:01Speaker 1: time of your affairs? Answer? One was in her twenties,
- 3:04Speaker 1: one was in her thirties. Questions so there were both adults?
- 3:07Speaker 1: Answer yes, Emmer. We have another member joined, Can he
- 3:11Speaker 1: please announce himself for the record? Tim Burchett, Tennessee's second
- 3:15Speaker 1: district question did you also engage in Again the email
- 3:20Speaker 1: refers to quote elicit tris with married women. Did you
- 3:23Speaker 1: have any other affairs besides these two women that we
- 3:26Speaker 1: just discussed. Answer. The only affairs that doctor Nikolic were
- 3:30Speaker 1: aware of were the two that we've discussed. Question, but
- 3:33Speaker 1: there were other extramarital affairs? Answer None with any connection
- 3:37Speaker 1: to Epstein that he became aware of or that he
- 3:40Speaker 1: had any connection too. Question how do you know that? Answer?
- 3:44Speaker 1: I guess I'll never know because he's dead. Question. So
- 3:47Speaker 1: that's the reason I'm asking about these other ones is
- 3:50Speaker 1: you've already testified today that you didn't know that these
- 3:53Speaker 1: two women did have any affiliation with Jeffrey Epstein, and
- 3:56Speaker 1: many of these details we've only since learned from the
- 3:59Speaker 1: Department of jo this release. So I do think additional
- 4:02Speaker 1: context about any other extra marital affairs, especially during the
- 4:06Speaker 1: time period you knew Jeffrey Epstein, are relevant to the
- 4:09Speaker 1: committee's inquiry. Mister Moran, with respect, I'm able to say
- 4:13Speaker 1: that mister Gates is in the best position to help
- 4:16Speaker 1: the committee understand what was connected to mister Epstein, and
- 4:20Speaker 1: I think he's done the best to do that. Question.
- 4:23Speaker 1: So doctor Nickolch knew of the two affairs with the
- 4:26Speaker 1: two Russian women, and that's it. Answer, Yeah, Question, did
- 4:29Speaker 1: you ever contract a sexually transmitted infection during any of
- 4:33Speaker 1: your extra marital affairs. Answer no question, not in these
- 4:37Speaker 1: two or any potential other ones. Answer no question. Do
- 4:42Speaker 1: you have any guests as to why Doctor Nikolich or
- 4:44Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein may have believed that you did answer, and
- 4:48Speaker 1: maybe they thought that was a good way to blackmail someone.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Question did you have a scare of some kind and
- 4:53Speaker 1: it turned out to not be a sexually transmitted infection? Answer?
- 4:57Speaker 1: I never had an STD question. Did you ever unicate
- 5:00Speaker 1: to doctor Nikolch that you were worried that you might answer?
- 5:03Speaker 1: It's possible I said something like that, which later turned
- 5:06Speaker 1: into the lie that I actually had an STD. Question.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Do you recall a specific discussion answer? I do not question,
- 5:14Speaker 1: but it's possible that you did answer yes. Question and again,
- 5:18Speaker 1: for the record, you did not ask doctor Nikolch in
- 5:21Speaker 1: his capacity as a doctor or in any other capacity,
- 5:25Speaker 1: to acquire drugs antibiotics of any kind. Answer no, he
- 5:29Speaker 1: was not a prescribing doctor. Question. Okay, mister Higgins, I
- 5:33Speaker 1: understand you have a couple questions you'd like to ask.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Now it's mister Higgins ask in the questions. I have
- 5:39Speaker 1: one question, mister Gates. You describe the relationship as manipulation, betrayal, coercion,
- 5:45Speaker 1: threat of blackmail, dishonesty. Doctor Nikolch was your closest associate.
- 5:50Speaker 1: We understand. Have you come to believe that doctor Nikolicch
- 5:53Speaker 1: conspired with Jeffrey Epstein prior to your dinner meeting in
- 5:56Speaker 1: twenty eleven and planned, to some extent an effort to
- 6:00Speaker 1: draw you into the Epstein web? Has that come to
- 6:03Speaker 1: be your perception of what happened? Gates? I don't know
- 6:06Speaker 1: what you mean by web. I have said that Higgins
- 6:09Speaker 1: cuts them off, the Epstein web of deceitful manipulation and
- 6:13Speaker 1: seeking power and leverage with people of wealth and influence
- 6:16Speaker 1: across the world. Gates? Can you restate the question? Sounds
- 6:19Speaker 1: very open ended? Higgins. The question is have you come
- 6:23Speaker 1: to believe in retrospect and in reading these emails that
- 6:26Speaker 1: have been revealed and some greatly surprise you, as you said,
- 6:30Speaker 1: and having gone through that relationship and resisted efforts to
- 6:33Speaker 1: draw you into more deeply social relationships, resisted efforts by
- 6:38Speaker 1: Epstein to coorus you into allowing him into a deeper
- 6:41Speaker 1: role with some things that you regretted doing in life,
- 6:44Speaker 1: have you come to see that doctor Nikolch. Do you
- 6:46Speaker 1: believe that doctor Nikolch conspired or met with Epstein prior
- 6:50Speaker 1: to your dinner meeting in twenty eleven and said, I
- 6:53Speaker 1: think maybe I can get I can get Bill in
- 6:56Speaker 1: front of you and maybe we can draw him in. Gates,
- 6:59Speaker 1: I don't believe that happened, Higgins. You don't believe that happened. Gates. No,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I don't think doctor Nikolic was part of a broad
- 7:05Speaker 1: set of things that you described. Higgins. Okay, that was
- 7:09Speaker 1: my only question. Emmer, we have another member join. Can
- 7:13Speaker 1: he please announce himself for the record. Congressman John Maguire,
- 7:17Speaker 1: Virginia's fifth District specter. Question, mister Gates, We're coming up
- 7:22Speaker 1: near the end of our hour, so I just want
- 7:24Speaker 1: to ask you a couple brief questions to follow up on.
- 7:27Speaker 1: So we've discussed the names of two women that you
- 7:29Speaker 1: had affairs with. You've already said that they were both Russian.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I believe in previous press statements other public statements you
- 7:36Speaker 1: described one as a bridge player and the other as
- 7:39Speaker 1: a nuclear scientist or something of the sort. Is that
- 7:42Speaker 1: fair answer? That's fair question? And so was Mela? She
- 7:46Speaker 1: was the bridge player. Is that correct? Answer? Mila Antonova
- 7:49Speaker 1: I met at a bridge tournament and she was a
- 7:51Speaker 1: serious bridge player. Question. And Karimo was a nuclear scientist?
- 7:55Speaker 1: Is that right? Answer? That is right? Question. You described
- 7:59Speaker 1: at least one instance of how doctor Nikolich was aware
- 8:02Speaker 1: of your infidelity, and it related to a meeting, a
- 8:05Speaker 1: meetup that you had in London. I believe you said,
- 8:08Speaker 1: was it the bridge player or was it the nuclear
- 8:10Speaker 1: scientists that you were meeting at the time? Answer? It
- 8:14Speaker 1: was a nuclear scientist. Question. Ha did doctor Nikolicch come
- 8:17Speaker 1: to learn of the bridge player? Answer? There was a
- 8:20Speaker 1: time after I finished dinner in California where the bridge
- 8:23Speaker 1: player was meeting me, and because I was delayed, Doctor
- 8:25Speaker 1: Nickolitch met her and stood with her, was with her
- 8:28Speaker 1: until I arrived. Question, So, once doctor Nikolich became aware
- 8:33Speaker 1: of each of these two affairs, was this something? What
- 8:36Speaker 1: was the situation between the two of you? Was it
- 8:38Speaker 1: the kind of thing where you knew he knew, and
- 8:41Speaker 1: he knew that you knew he knew, but you didn't
- 8:43Speaker 1: talk about it. Did you talk about it openly or
- 8:46Speaker 1: was it just like both of you knew the situation
- 8:48Speaker 1: and chose not to talk about it. Answer, I don't
- 8:51Speaker 1: remember talking about it until you know, during the exit period.
- 8:54Speaker 1: As I said, there were the veiled delusions, and in
- 8:58Speaker 1: an email took that on very directly. Question Again, we've
- 9:02Speaker 1: already discussed some of the potential for other extramarital affairs,
- 9:07Speaker 1: but just to be clear for the record, is your
- 9:09Speaker 1: testimony that you had no other romantic sexual relationships with
- 9:13Speaker 1: any woman associated with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer? That is right? Question?
- 9:18Speaker 1: And I asked you how you knew that? And you
- 9:20Speaker 1: said you can never really be sure. Is that your
- 9:22Speaker 1: testimony as well? Answer? No, I'm sorry, go back. Question.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I asked you how you knew that no other woman
- 9:28Speaker 1: you may have had sexual or romantic relations with had
- 9:31Speaker 1: any connection to Jeffrey Epstein. I asked you how you
- 9:34Speaker 1: were sure about that, and you said, well, you guess
- 9:37Speaker 1: you can't be sure. Is that right? Answer? I'm quite sure?
- 9:40Speaker 1: Question how answer you know? I think that Epstein, when
- 9:42Speaker 1: he was writing emails to himself, took every potential negative
- 9:46Speaker 1: thing he knew and some that are completely false, and
- 9:49Speaker 1: put those into a draft email to himself, and as
- 9:51Speaker 1: we see from the email release, the only specific things
- 9:54Speaker 1: he refers to are the affair with the nuclear scientist
- 9:57Speaker 1: and the affair with the bridge player, and so I
- 10:00Speaker 1: think in some weird way he discovered anything negative to
- 10:03Speaker 1: say about me. He would have seen them, or we
- 10:05Speaker 1: would have seen them in the emails that he sent
- 10:07Speaker 1: to himself. Mister Spector. Thank you very much. We can
- 10:11Speaker 1: go off record, mister Claire if I could. Before we
- 10:14Speaker 1: do that, I could just offer one thing for the
- 10:18Speaker 1: committee's benefit. This line of questioning has been about these
- 10:20Speaker 1: emails that Epstein sent to himself, and obviously there's a
- 10:23Speaker 1: lot of interest in how those things came about. In
- 10:27Speaker 1: the course of preparing for this hearing and working with
- 10:29Speaker 1: mister Gates, we did identify a situation where Epstein did
- 10:33Speaker 1: send an email to himself purporting to memorialize something that
- 10:37Speaker 1: mister Gates said, completely unrelated to this topic of affairs.
- 10:40Speaker 1: But we do see within hours of mister Epstein receiving
- 10:43Speaker 1: an email from mister Gates, Epstein drafting one of these
- 10:46Speaker 1: emails to himself, purporting to memorialize it and changing significantly
- 10:51Speaker 1: the substance of it. And so this might shed light,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and if the committee is interested, I'm happy to provide
- 10:59Speaker 1: those Bates numbers and you know, whether it's for today
- 11:01Speaker 1: or another time, we'd be happy to brief you on it,
- 11:04Speaker 1: but it seems relevant to the question of what mister
- 11:06Speaker 1: Epstein does when he drafts these emails to himself. The email,
- 11:10Speaker 1: the authentic one that mister Gates sent to Epstein has
- 11:14Speaker 1: a Bates number, and then the email that Epstein to
- 11:16Speaker 1: Epstein comes from a few hours later, where he's purporting
- 11:19Speaker 1: to memorialize what mister Gates told him but changing the
- 11:23Speaker 1: substance of it is EFTA zero nine zero one nine
- 11:27Speaker 1: three six two eight three. So we leave that for
- 11:30Speaker 1: the committee's consideration. Mister spector, thank you. We can go
- 11:34Speaker 1: off record, all right. We're gonna wrap up right here too,
- 11:37Speaker 1: and in the next episode dealing with the topic, we're
- 11:39Speaker 1: gonna pick up where we left off. All the information
- 11:42Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 11:45Speaker 1: description box. What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode
- 11:48Speaker 1: of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're gonna pick
- 11:52Speaker 1: up where we left off with the Bill Gates transcript
- 11:55Speaker 1: from his interview with Congress question. My name is redacted.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I'm an attorney for the minority, and I'll be asking
- 12:04Speaker 1: most of our questions today. In the course of doing so,
- 12:07Speaker 1: I'm likely to touch on some of the issues that
- 12:09Speaker 1: my majority colleagues covered with you in the previous round.
- 12:13Speaker 1: In doing so, I don't want to make you repeat yourself.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I just want to make sure that we have a
- 12:17Speaker 1: clear record at the end of this proceeding. Garcia, can
- 12:21Speaker 1: you speak into your microphone redacted? Sure? Is this better question? Okay? Apologies?
- 12:27Speaker 1: I'm going to start, if I could, by talking about
- 12:29Speaker 1: a few of the individuals whom we understand have been
- 12:32Speaker 1: connected with Microsoft or with the Gates Foundation, and whom
- 12:36Speaker 1: we understand had a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. You spoke
- 12:40Speaker 1: at length with my majority colleagues about mister Nikolic. If
- 12:43Speaker 1: I could start with him, just a couple of quick questions.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Did he ever mention anything to you about Jeffrey Epstein's
- 12:49Speaker 1: proclivity for young women or teenage girls? Answer no, doctor Nikolic, question,
- 12:55Speaker 1: Doctor Nikolch, thank you. And did doctor Nikeolch ever mention
- 12:58Speaker 1: anything to you about Jeffrey Epstein's sexual relationship with young
- 13:02Speaker 1: women or girls? Answer no. Question. The next individual that
- 13:07Speaker 1: I'd like to ask you about is Steven Sinofsky, who
- 13:09Speaker 1: is mister Snofsky. Answer Steven Sinofsky worked in senior engineering
- 13:14Speaker 1: positions at Microsoft for a long time. Question and when
- 13:19Speaker 1: did you meet mister Sinofsky? Answer a long time ago.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Early in his Microsoft career, he served in a job
- 13:25Speaker 1: as technical assistant to me. Question did you become aware
- 13:29Speaker 1: at some point that mister Sinofsky had a relationship with
- 13:31Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein? Answer no. Question Did you ever become aware
- 13:36Speaker 1: of Jeffrey Epstein providing professional service of any kind to
- 13:40Speaker 1: mister Snofsky answer through the press this year? Question not
- 13:44Speaker 1: prior to this year? Answer not prior. Question did mister
- 13:49Speaker 1: Snofsky ever mention anything to you about Jeffrey Epstein's proclivity
- 13:53Speaker 1: for young women or teenage girls? Answer? We never. The
- 13:57Speaker 1: name Epstein never even came up in any conversation I
- 13:59Speaker 1: had with mister Sinofsky. Question And as we understand, in
- 14:04Speaker 1: April of twenty thirteen, Jeffrey Epstein was helping mister Sinofsky
- 14:08Speaker 1: negotiate his exit package from Microsoft. Is that something that
- 14:12Speaker 1: you were aware of? Answer not at all. Question and
- 14:16Speaker 1: then moving on to the next individual, Melanie Walker. And
- 14:19Speaker 1: before I proceed with my questions, I'm going to ask
- 14:22Speaker 1: the Court reporter to Mark as exhibit A a Wall
- 14:25Speaker 1: Street Journal article of June seventh, twenty twenty six, titled
- 14:29Speaker 1: the Hidden Figure with close Ties to Bill Gates and
- 14:32Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein. Mister Gates, I'm not going to ask you
- 14:35Speaker 1: any questions about the article, but I understand that one
- 14:38Speaker 1: or more of our members will later in the hour. Answer, okay, question,
- 14:43Speaker 1: I just wanted to enter it into the record. Gates
- 14:46Speaker 1: Minority Exhibit A. Question can you tell us who is
- 14:50Speaker 1: Melanie Walker? Answer? Doctor Walker worked at the Gates Foundation
- 14:54Speaker 1: for a period, then she worked for the World Bank
- 14:56Speaker 1: for a period. She's also an advanced brain surgeon. Question
- 15:00Speaker 1: when did you first meet doctor Walker? Answer would have
- 15:04Speaker 1: been when she was at the Gates Foundation. Answer and
- 15:07Speaker 1: when did she start working at the Gates Foundation? Answer,
- 15:10Speaker 1: I'm not sure, two thousand and seven, something like that.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I'm not sure. Question were you aware at the time
- 15:17Speaker 1: she started working at the Gates Foundation that she had
- 15:19Speaker 1: a prior relationship with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer no, although she
- 15:24Speaker 1: did send me an email after my first dinner with
- 15:26Speaker 1: Epstein asking my impression, so I was aware that she
- 15:29Speaker 1: knew him. Question and that was the first dinner you
- 15:32Speaker 1: discussed earlier in twenty eleven. Answer, that's right. Question. Did
- 15:37Speaker 1: doctor Walker ever mention anything to you about Jeffrey Epstein's
- 15:41Speaker 1: proclivity for young women or teenage girls? Answer no question.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I'm going to ask the court reporter to mark as
- 15:47Speaker 1: exhibit B a back and forth of text messages. Question
- 15:53Speaker 1: it's from various dates in September of twenty seventeen, Bates
- 15:56Speaker 1: number EFTA zero one, six, two, zero, row seven three
- 16:00Speaker 1: six through seven forty two, And mister Gates, please take
- 16:05Speaker 1: all the time you need to review the exhibit. I'm
- 16:07Speaker 1: only going to be focusing on the last page, that's
- 16:10Speaker 1: Bates number seven forty two. The names of the participants
- 16:14Speaker 1: in this conversation don't appear in the document, we understand
- 16:17Speaker 1: that they're Jeffrey Epstein and doctor Walker. And looking at
- 16:21Speaker 1: page seven forty two, the chat at the top reads
- 16:24Speaker 1: Larry will join management tomorrow at BG at the BGC
- 16:29Speaker 1: three office. Larry also invited to junior staffers. Larry will
- 16:34Speaker 1: not join and is not aware of other meetings, but
- 16:37Speaker 1: he's starting to really get annoying. Are there any signals
- 16:40Speaker 1: I can send or words I can use to let
- 16:42Speaker 1: him and BG know I'm not messing around any words
- 16:46Speaker 1: I can use with Larry directly or with him in
- 16:48Speaker 1: BG and right below we understand to be Jeffrey Epstein's response.
- 16:53Speaker 1: With BG, all you would have to say is you
- 16:55Speaker 1: should know that I've told Jeffrey everything everything, understanding that
- 17:01Speaker 1: you are not a participant in the conversation. Have you
- 17:03Speaker 1: seen this before? Answer only when it was released as
- 17:07Speaker 1: part of the Epstein files in January. Question do you
- 17:11Speaker 1: have any understanding as to what Jeffrey Epstein was referring
- 17:14Speaker 1: to here by the word everything? Answer? I don't have
- 17:17Speaker 1: any value to add here. Question and again on the
- 17:20Speaker 1: same page, The following text reads, I'm worried he will
- 17:24Speaker 1: immediately retaliate against me. And what we again understand to
- 17:28Speaker 1: be Jeffrey Epstein's response. You can always say I also
- 17:32Speaker 1: like blue dresses colon close parentheses, which I take to
- 17:35Speaker 1: be a smiley face emoji. Do you have any understanding
- 17:39Speaker 1: as to what mister Epstein was referring to there by
- 17:42Speaker 1: a reference blue dress? Answer? We can both speculate. Question
- 17:47Speaker 1: can you speculate for us in your opinion? What do
- 17:50Speaker 1: you think he was referencing Gates? It appears to be
- 17:53Speaker 1: a reference to the Monica Lewinsky affair or whatever you
- 17:56Speaker 1: call it with President Clinton. Question, and you have strike
- 18:00Speaker 1: that during your relationship with mister Epstein, did you too
- 18:03Speaker 1: ever discuss the blue dress gates? No question, No further
- 18:08Speaker 1: questions on this document. Question. Doctor Walker has reportedly claimed
- 18:14Speaker 1: that Jeffrey Epstein introduced her to two professional contacts who
- 18:17Speaker 1: sexually propositioned her. Are you familiar with doctor Walker's claim?
- 18:22Speaker 1: Answer not at all. Question Did doctor Walker ever warn
- 18:25Speaker 1: you about Jeffrey Epstein? Answer is certainly not during the
- 18:28Speaker 1: time that I knew mister Epstein. Question. The Wall Street
- 18:32Speaker 1: Journal I'll represent, reported that in August of twenty fourteen,
- 18:36Speaker 1: doctor Walker sent you what appeared to be a warning
- 18:39Speaker 1: about Epstein, stating that you should maintain quote a healthy
- 18:43Speaker 1: distance for anything of a personal nature unquote when dealing
- 18:47Speaker 1: with Jeffrey Epstein. Do you recall that email? Answer? I
- 18:50Speaker 1: do not. Are you sure you have the date correct? Question?
- 18:53Speaker 1: This is a reported by the Wall Street Journal, so
- 18:56Speaker 1: I can't confirm their reporting. And you don't recall doctor
- 19:00Speaker 1: Walker ever saying anything to you in the vein about
- 19:03Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein. Answer not during the time that I knew Epstein.
- 19:07Speaker 1: No question subsequent to the time that you knew Epstein. Answer,
- 19:11Speaker 1: you know, in twenty seventeen, his name may have come up,
- 19:15Speaker 1: and I said, the whole Epstein thing was confusing to me,
- 19:18Speaker 1: and she didn't really shed much additional light on my confusion.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Question what was the context of that discussion? Answer? You know,
- 19:25Speaker 1: she had left the employee of the Gates Foundation and
- 19:28Speaker 1: was doing some scientific consulting work for me, and so
- 19:31Speaker 1: during that time period it briefly came up. Question And
- 19:34Speaker 1: when you said the Epstein situation was confusing to you,
- 19:37Speaker 1: what were you referring to by situation? Answer? What was
- 19:42Speaker 1: the Epstein thing? How did he make money? What was
- 19:44Speaker 1: his what was he trying to do? To this day,
- 19:47Speaker 1: I don't find a fully satisfactory explanation of, you know,
- 19:50Speaker 1: how he got his wealth and a variety of things. Question.
- 19:54Speaker 1: You've spoke in some detail during the previous round about
- 19:56Speaker 1: your various meetings with Jeffrey Epstein between two th eleven
- 20:00Speaker 1: and twenty fourteen. If I could, I would like to
- 20:04Speaker 1: just walk through some of those, in particular with you
- 20:07Speaker 1: in a bit more detail, using some documents that we
- 20:10Speaker 1: have obtained. I'll ask the court reporter to Mark as
- 20:13Speaker 1: Exhibit C, an email dated January twenty eighth, twenty eleven,
- 20:17Speaker 1: with the subject line I'm sorry with no subject line
- 20:21Speaker 1: Gates Minority Exhibit C. Question. The text of the email reads, Hey, redacted,
- 20:27Speaker 1: Bill Gates and Boris Nikolitch is coming for dinner at
- 20:30Speaker 1: seventy first this Monday and Tuesday night, both nights. Jaye
- 20:35Speaker 1: asked if you could take off work to help with
- 20:37Speaker 1: the dinner. It's only three to four people, but he
- 20:39Speaker 1: would really like you there. Does this work for you?
- 20:42Speaker 1: And to our understanding, mister Gates, you are not on
- 20:45Speaker 1: this email, but I'm interested in the reference to both knights.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Do you recall a meeting with Jeffrey Epstein on two
- 20:50Speaker 1: consecutive nights in January? Answer? I did not, question, so
- 20:55Speaker 1: do your knowledge to that extent this email is inaccurate? Answer?
- 20:59Speaker 1: That's right. Question, And just to be clear, the email
- 21:02Speaker 1: refers to three to four people expected for one or
- 21:05Speaker 1: both of those dinners. Is that the number of people
- 21:07Speaker 1: you recall being there? Answer? I think January thirty first
- 21:10Speaker 1: dinner was During the dinner, just myself, doctor Nikolic and
- 21:14Speaker 1: mister Epstein. Question and outside of the dinner, do you
- 21:18Speaker 1: recall anyone else being present? Answer, Yeah, that's the time
- 21:22Speaker 1: when Eva Dubin and her daughter dropped by after dinner.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Question I understand from your testimony in the previous rounds
- 21:29Speaker 1: that Jeffrey Epstein extended an invitation for you to visit
- 21:33Speaker 1: his island, Little Saint James. Is that correct? Answer? I
- 21:36Speaker 1: think on several occasions he did question and you never
- 21:40Speaker 1: accepted that invitation. Answer? I never did question? And why
- 21:44Speaker 1: was that? Answer? It wasn't of interest to me? Question?
- 21:48Speaker 1: Was there something in particular that was off putting about
- 21:50Speaker 1: the idea for you? Answer? My time's quite valuable, and
- 21:54Speaker 1: I didn't think it was interesting. It was kind of
- 21:56Speaker 1: a relationship we had. Question did he mention why he
- 21:59Speaker 1: was in inviting you to the island Gates? I guess
- 22:02Speaker 1: to expand our relationship, to have a social element to it.
- 22:06Speaker 1: I'm not sure. Question, And to be clear, there was
- 22:09Speaker 1: no specific purpose. It was to meet with Epstein generally speaking,
- 22:13Speaker 1: but there wasn't an event that you were going to
- 22:15Speaker 1: go to on the island, Gates know, or that I
- 22:18Speaker 1: was invited to Gates. I never went to the island.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Question continuing chronologically twenty twelve, do you recall specific meetings
- 22:27Speaker 1: with Jeffrey Epstein in twenty twelve. Answer, yeah, I saw
- 22:31Speaker 1: him for two dinners in the fall of twenty twelve.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Question where do those dinners take place? Answer? Both at
- 22:38Speaker 1: is placed in New York City. Question and can you
- 22:41Speaker 1: tell us, respectively, who was in attendance at those two dinners?
- 22:45Speaker 1: Answer maybe I should look at the document, so they
- 22:48Speaker 1: go off record, then they come back on gates. Okay, sorry, okay, yeah,
- 22:52Speaker 1: let me correct what I said. One of the twenty
- 22:55Speaker 1: twelve meetings was at the New York City Four Seasons
- 22:58Speaker 1: and the other during the General Assembly week at his residence.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Question and refreshing your recollection based on the chronology you
- 23:06Speaker 1: just looked at. Answer that's right. Question Can we start
- 23:10Speaker 1: with the Four Seasons meeting? Who was there? Answer? I
- 23:13Speaker 1: think that's another meeting where Eva Dubin and a friend
- 23:16Speaker 1: of hers drop by, but they were not part of
- 23:18Speaker 1: the meeting. Question what's your understanding was miss Dubin's relationship
- 23:23Speaker 1: to Jeffrey Epstein. Answer it appeared that there were friends.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Question and then the second twenty twelve meeting was at
- 23:31Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's residence. If I understand correctly? Answer that's right.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Question and who was in attendance at that meeting. Answer
- 23:39Speaker 1: he brought along two Norwegians, one Terry Rod Larson and
- 23:43Speaker 1: the other is Jagline something question something Norwegian answer something
- 23:47Speaker 1: Jaglined question anyone else? Answer? I think doctor Nikolic was
- 23:52Speaker 1: at that dinner. Question. What was the topic of discussion
- 23:56Speaker 1: at that dinner? Answer? Well, you know, it was generally
- 23:59Speaker 1: about the world. One of those men had been the
- 24:01Speaker 1: number two at the United Nations I think under Kofianon,
- 24:04Speaker 1: and the other gentleman I think, had been Prime Minister
- 24:06Speaker 1: of Norway and various other political type things. So the
- 24:10Speaker 1: dinner would have discussed, you know, their views of the world.
- 24:14Speaker 1: You know, I would have talked about my foundation work,
- 24:17Speaker 1: including things like polio eradication. It was, you know, the
- 24:20Speaker 1: first time that I met either of those two men.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Question the Four Seasons dinner answer not dinner question meeting
- 24:27Speaker 1: answer meeting question meeting. What was the topic of discussion
- 24:31Speaker 1: at that meeting? Answer? I'm not sure that I recall
- 24:35Speaker 1: the specifics of that. You know, I hadn't seen Epstein
- 24:37Speaker 1: for well over a year, so I may have updated
- 24:40Speaker 1: him on what I was up to. Question and then
- 24:43Speaker 1: again proceeding chronologically moving into twenty thirteen. Do you recall
- 24:47Speaker 1: specific meetings that you had with Epstein during that year? Answer?
- 24:52Speaker 1: I met him that year. Yes. Answer Do you recall
- 24:55Speaker 1: meeting him at the Weston in California at some point
- 24:57Speaker 1: during twenty thirteen? Answer no, question no, if I could
- 25:02Speaker 1: ask the court reporter to mark as Exhibit D, an
- 25:04Speaker 1: email which we understand to have been prepared by one
- 25:07Speaker 1: of Epstein's assistants, containing his schedule from February and March
- 25:12Speaker 1: of twenty thirteen, Gates Minority Exhibit D mark for identification. Question,
- 25:18Speaker 1: mister Gates, please take all the time you need to
- 25:21Speaker 1: review the document. Once again, it's not one in which
- 25:24Speaker 1: you are a participant. Answer it looks like I may
- 25:27Speaker 1: have had a Skype call with him at this time
- 25:29Speaker 1: question during twenty thirteen? Answer yes. Question do you recall
- 25:33Speaker 1: the subject of the skype call? Answer? I know in
- 25:37Speaker 1: twenty thirteen his representation that he could raise billions or
- 25:41Speaker 1: tens of billions for global health became a significant subject
- 25:44Speaker 1: of discussion. Question was there anyone else on the call? Answer?
- 25:49Speaker 1: I'm not sure. Question, and that call took place during
- 25:52Speaker 1: a period of time where you still thought that mister
- 25:54Speaker 1: Epstein might plausibly raise the sums that he was representing
- 25:58Speaker 1: to you answer, that's right through, you know, I would
- 26:01Speaker 1: say September I mistakenly took him at his word. Then
- 26:05Speaker 1: I became quite skeptical, But through September twenty fourteen, I
- 26:09Speaker 1: was still hoping that it would that billions would be
- 26:11Speaker 1: raised for global health. All right, folks, we're going to
- 26:15Speaker 1: wrap up right here, and in the next episode, we're
- 26:18Speaker 1: gonna pick up where we left off. All the information
- 26:21Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 26:23Speaker 1: description box. What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode
- 26:27Speaker 1: of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to
- 26:30Speaker 1: pick up where we left off with the Bill Gates
- 26:33Speaker 1: interview with Congress question referring back to Exhibit D, if
- 26:37Speaker 1: I could, I would just like to walk through some
- 26:39Speaker 1: of the entries which refer to you and meetings that
- 26:42Speaker 1: you had according to this document with Jeffrey Epstein. So
- 26:45Speaker 1: I'm looking at the top the entry for Wednesday, February
- 26:48Speaker 1: twenty seventh, twenty thirteen. There's a reference to an appointment
- 26:52Speaker 1: from two to three thirty PM with you at the
- 26:55Speaker 1: four seasons. Do you recall having a meeting with mister
- 26:58Speaker 1: Epstein at the Four Seasons on that date. Discussion off
- 27:02Speaker 1: the record, back on Gates. Yeah, the only thing we
- 27:05Speaker 1: show on February of that year, which you know, my
- 27:08Speaker 1: calendar is kept pretty precisely. All we show is a
- 27:11Speaker 1: skype call on I believe February twenty seventh. Oh no, okay,
- 27:15Speaker 1: we're in twenty thirteen. That's funny, because there was a
- 27:20Speaker 1: skype call in twenty fourteen on February twenty seventh, So
- 27:23Speaker 1: I apologize that confused me. No, it looks like there
- 27:26Speaker 1: was a meeting at the Four Seasons on the twenty seventh,
- 27:29Speaker 1: then at dinner later that night at Epstein's residence in
- 27:32Speaker 1: New York City. Sorry, question, No problem, I appreciate the clarification.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I'll walk through those in a moment, just for clarity
- 27:40Speaker 1: of the record. The skype call that we discussed a
- 27:42Speaker 1: few minutes ago, that took place during February of twenty fourteen. Answered,
- 27:47Speaker 1: that's right, And I looked and saw February twenty seventh,
- 27:51Speaker 1: and I thought that must be it. But that's just
- 27:53Speaker 1: a mistake I made. February twenty seventh what my calendar shows,
- 27:58Speaker 1: and I'm sure it's correct, is that I met with
- 27:59Speaker 1: them at Four Seasons during the day and that there
- 28:02Speaker 1: was a dinner at his house that night. Question okay,
- 28:05Speaker 1: so with respect of Four Seasons meeting on February twenty seventh,
- 28:09Speaker 1: twenty thirteen, who other than yourself was in attendance at
- 28:12Speaker 1: that meeting if anyone? Answer? I mentioned that. I think
- 28:16Speaker 1: that there was a time that even Dubin and a
- 28:18Speaker 1: friend came by, but they weren't part of the meeting,
- 28:21Speaker 1: but they were at the meeting. Question do you recall
- 28:23Speaker 1: the name of miss Dubin's friend? Answer? I don't. Question.
- 28:26Speaker 1: And again the topic of discussion at that meeting. Answer
- 28:30Speaker 1: you know you're getting to that period where there's a
- 28:32Speaker 1: lot of focus on whether money can be raised for
- 28:34Speaker 1: global health, so that would have been the primary topic. Question.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Just looking at a couple of entries on February twenty seventh,
- 28:43Speaker 1: there's a notation twelve twenty pm and apologies, I'm almost
- 28:47Speaker 1: certainly going to mispronounce this name redacted for the court.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Reporter redacted to arrive JFK by Virgin Atlantic three and
- 28:55Speaker 1: at the end of the entry it says four Seasons
- 28:57Speaker 1: to meet up with you, referring to Epstein at two
- 28:59Speaker 1: PM discussion off record. Back on question, do you recall
- 29:05Speaker 1: an individual by that name attending the four Seasons meeting?
- 29:09Speaker 1: Answer no question. And then the ten to fifteen PM
- 29:13Speaker 1: meeting reflected in this calendar that I understand correctly took
- 29:16Speaker 1: place at mister Gate's residence. Answer no question, I'm sorry,
- 29:20Speaker 1: mister Epstein's residence. Answer I don't think there was a
- 29:24Speaker 1: ten to fifteen meeting. I thought it was earlier than that.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Question And was that at dinner? Answer? I think so, yes. Question,
- 29:33Speaker 1: And do you recall who attended that dinner? Answer? I
- 29:36Speaker 1: think that was another time where Terry Rod Larsen and
- 29:39Speaker 1: Jaguline thorborn Jaglind is his last name, Thorborne Jaglind attended
- 29:43Speaker 1: the dinner. And that's also the dinner where he invited
- 29:47Speaker 1: us over and David Blaine came and did a few
- 29:49Speaker 1: magic tricks. Question. You were asked in a previous round
- 29:52Speaker 1: about the presence of young women during these various interactions.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Do you recall any young women being present at mister
- 29:59Speaker 1: gates home on the evening of February twenty seventh. Answer
- 30:03Speaker 1: mister Epstein's home, not my home. When David Blaine did
- 30:06Speaker 1: his magic trick or tricks. There was one of those
- 30:09Speaker 1: admin people standing around as that was being done, but
- 30:13Speaker 1: I was not introduced to her. Question. Moving ahead chronologically,
- 30:17Speaker 1: the entry for February twenty eighth, again referring to Exhibit D,
- 30:22Speaker 1: starts with the notation reminder Bill Gates in New York
- 30:25Speaker 1: and then further down at two pm tentative appointment with
- 30:29Speaker 1: Bill Gates. Do you recall another meeting with Jeffrey Epstein
- 30:32Speaker 1: at two pm on that date? Answer? No, I didn't
- 30:36Speaker 1: meet with him on that day, mister Clare did not.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Gates did not. Question and were you still in New
- 30:43Speaker 1: York on February twenty eighth or had you left? Answer?
- 30:46Speaker 1: I was probably there. Question And then moving ahead to
- 30:49Speaker 1: the entry for Friday, March first, twenty thirteen, there's a
- 30:53Speaker 1: notation one pm lunch with Bill Gates and Woody Allen.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Do you recall having lunch with mister Epstein and Woody Allen? Answer?
- 31:01Speaker 1: I never met Woody Allen. I did not ever have lunch,
- 31:04Speaker 1: so this never took place. Question and then immediately blow TBD.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Maybe fly to PB today tonight, Bill Gates to fly
- 31:12Speaker 1: with you? Maybe? And for a question marks, assuming pomp
- 31:15Speaker 1: Beach refers to Palm Beach. Did you fly to Pon
- 31:18Speaker 1: Beach with mister Epstein on March first? Answer? Yeah, March
- 31:22Speaker 1: first or second? I did? Yes. Question what was the
- 31:26Speaker 1: purpose of the trip upon beach? Answer? It was just
- 31:29Speaker 1: to mister Epstein, you know, was seeking more time to
- 31:32Speaker 1: talk to me, and I was going to Wellington, Florida
- 31:34Speaker 1: to see my daughter. So he suggested, because I had
- 31:36Speaker 1: a very full schedule, that we fly together at the
- 31:39Speaker 1: Pon Beach, which we did. It was not his seven
- 31:41Speaker 1: twenty seven, but we flew on a different plane to
- 31:44Speaker 1: Palm Beach. Question a private plane, I take it? Answer,
- 31:47Speaker 1: a private plane, and I don't know if he owned
- 31:50Speaker 1: it or chartered it or whatever, but it was a
- 31:53Speaker 1: gulf Stream, not the well known seven to twenty seven
- 31:56Speaker 1: that was Epstein's other plane. By the way, Question was
- 31:58Speaker 1: anyone else on the flight with you? You? Answer? Yeah, he had.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Of course there was a pilot on the flight presumably
- 32:05Speaker 1: question presumably and hopefully yes answer and I believe that
- 32:08Speaker 1: there were two ADMIN assistants who sat in the first
- 32:11Speaker 1: cabin during the flight. Question Okay, were you introduced to
- 32:14Speaker 1: either of those ADMIN assistants? Answer I was not. Question
- 32:18Speaker 1: were they both female? Answer yes, question relatively young. Answer,
- 32:23Speaker 1: I wouldn't say that they were underaged. I think there
- 32:26Speaker 1: was a photo taken we could look at, but they
- 32:28Speaker 1: appeared to be adult women to me. Question did you
- 32:31Speaker 1: have any understanding that Jeffrey Epstein had a relationship of
- 32:34Speaker 1: any kind with either of those women beyond an employment relationship?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Answer no. Question Did you witness any sexual activity or
- 32:43Speaker 1: sexual abuse on that plane? Answer never. Question And when
- 32:48Speaker 1: you got to pom Beach did you stay with Jeffrey
- 32:50Speaker 1: Epstein at his house? Answer? I did not. I never
- 32:54Speaker 1: went to his pom Beach house. As soon as the
- 32:56Speaker 1: plane landed, my security team met me there, and I
- 32:59Speaker 1: went to another location in Florida, which is Wellington. Question
- 33:03Speaker 1: and was this trip to Palm Beach the only time
- 33:05Speaker 1: that you flew on a plane with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer
- 33:08Speaker 1: that's right. Question you referred during the previous round with
- 33:12Speaker 1: the majority. If I understood correctly that you met at
- 33:15Speaker 1: some point in twenty thirteen with Jeffrey Epstein in Paris, France,
- 33:19Speaker 1: is that correct? Answer? Yes? Question okay, what was the
- 33:24Speaker 1: purpose of that trip? Answer? I was in Paris for
- 33:27Speaker 1: other things. And there was an afternoon where I went
- 33:30Speaker 1: over to I think a place that he owned in Paris,
- 33:33Speaker 1: and I spent a few hours with him that afternoon.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Question and what did you discuss with them that afternoon? Answer?
- 33:39Speaker 1: You know, the substantative discussion would have been about the
- 33:42Speaker 1: possibility of raising money philanthropically. You know, we possibly touched
- 33:46Speaker 1: on I think the French Open was going on at
- 33:48Speaker 1: the time. Question was anyone else present in the apartment
- 33:53Speaker 1: during your meeting? Answer? Yeah, I mean there were definitely
- 33:56Speaker 1: a staff people there, including a chef who cooked a
- 33:58Speaker 1: lot of food and served it to us at a
- 34:00Speaker 1: time when we weren't hungry. And I forget I think
- 34:03Speaker 1: doctor Nikolich was there. I don't think mister Cohen was there,
- 34:06Speaker 1: But yes, there was a meeting. Question Is the name
- 34:10Speaker 1: Jean Luke Brunell familiar to you? Answer through the press only?
- 34:14Speaker 1: Question do you recall mister Brunell being present at that meeting? Answer?
- 34:17Speaker 1: He was not. I never met him. Question. I'm going
- 34:20Speaker 1: to ask the court reporter to mark exhibit E an
- 34:23Speaker 1: email from mister Nicolch to you, dated June eighth, twenty thirteen,
- 34:27Speaker 1: and for the record, the email thread bears the Bates
- 34:29Speaker 1: number the EFTA zero zero, eight, seven, three, three, nine
- 34:34Speaker 1: zero through ninety two. Mister Gates, do you recall this email? Answer?
- 34:39Speaker 1: I have a recollection. Yes. Question you referred as I
- 34:43Speaker 1: remember during the first hour to an invitation that was
- 34:46Speaker 1: extended to you while you were in Paris, which you declined.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Does this email thread refer to that invitation? Answer? It does. Question,
- 34:53Speaker 1: just a couple of questions about the substance of the exchange.
- 34:58Speaker 1: I'm looking at mister Nicolach email you on the page
- 35:01Speaker 1: that bears the Baits number ninety one at the end
- 35:04Speaker 1: the second page of this exhibit, he writes, have you
- 35:08Speaker 1: ever been in Legendary Crazy Horse in Paris? It's one
- 35:11Speaker 1: of those erotic, upscale, elegant shows. It's fun if you
- 35:15Speaker 1: have never been, And then skipping to the end of
- 35:17Speaker 1: the email, most likely we can go after backstage and
- 35:20Speaker 1: meet some artists, as Jeffrey dated a few of them,
- 35:24Speaker 1: and then you're applying the next email up above for
- 35:27Speaker 1: eighteen pm. I will be too tired to do this
- 35:30Speaker 1: and wouldn't want to take the risk. What risk exactly
- 35:33Speaker 1: were you referring to here? Answer? I think in general,
- 35:36Speaker 1: going to a show of erotic nature. Is I just
- 35:38Speaker 1: don't choose to do that. I don't think it would
- 35:41Speaker 1: be helpful for my reputation. In my early twenties, I
- 35:44Speaker 1: probably went to a show like that once or twice.
- 35:47Speaker 1: But here I'm saying that I believe it would be
- 35:49Speaker 1: a mistake for me to accept this invitation. You know,
- 35:52Speaker 1: just another example of where there was kind of an
- 35:55Speaker 1: attempt to draw me into a more social relationship. Question
- 35:58Speaker 1: and you had concerns about the potential reputational harm in
- 36:01Speaker 1: the event that you were spotted answer right, and it
- 36:04Speaker 1: wasn't consistent with the relationship I had with Epstein. We
- 36:07Speaker 1: never did anything of an entertainment or a laxing nature,
- 36:10Speaker 1: and so this would have been a change in the
- 36:12Speaker 1: relationship that I chose to make. Question. Was there anything
- 36:16Speaker 1: specific to Jeffrey Epstein that led you to not want
- 36:19Speaker 1: to attend his event? Answer? Yeah, I guess Not only
- 36:23Speaker 1: is my appearing at an erotic event to risk my reputation,
- 36:26Speaker 1: it would be compounded by appearing with somebody who, although
- 36:29Speaker 1: I didn't know the full extent of it, had been
- 36:31Speaker 1: convicted of a sexually related crime. Question and was that
- 36:35Speaker 1: on your mind when you wrote this reply? To mister Nikolic.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Answer certainly. Question, mister Gates. I have no more questions
- 36:42Speaker 1: for the moment, but I understand that some of our
- 36:44Speaker 1: members have questions for you at this point. Question, and
- 36:48Speaker 1: before we turn it over to our members, for those
- 36:50Speaker 1: new members who just arrived, can you please introduce yourself
- 36:53Speaker 1: for the record, Congresswoman Emily Randall, Washington, sixth District, and
- 37:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Arizona's third District, Rocana, California. Tim Burchett, Tennessee.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Do we have to do this every time we walk in,
- 37:08Speaker 1: mister adactad? Not every time, mister Burchett. Okay, cool, all right,
- 37:13Speaker 1: thank you, Miss Stansbury, Melanie Stansbury, New Mexico's first Garcia. Great,
- 37:18Speaker 1: thank you, Thank you, mister Gates. Thanks for being here
- 37:21Speaker 1: today and for your cooperation in answering questions. Obviously, this
- 37:26Speaker 1: investigation for US is about getting to Jeffrey Epstein's crimes,
- 37:29Speaker 1: accountability and justice for the survivors. I think you acknowledged
- 37:32Speaker 1: that at the start. I have a couple of questions,
- 37:35Speaker 1: but I wanted to also just ask you. Look, I
- 37:38Speaker 1: think everyone recognizes that you've built incredible companies, your foundation,
- 37:43Speaker 1: the work that's happened across the world. You've done an
- 37:46Speaker 1: enormous amount of good for a lot of people globally,
- 37:48Speaker 1: and so I do want to recognize. I want to
- 37:50Speaker 1: recognize that, and it's appreciated because we're looking to get
- 37:55Speaker 1: justice and having an investigation that, at the end of
- 37:57Speaker 1: the day is about survivors. In your interaction with mister
- 38:01Speaker 1: Epstein in which you describe some and you will throughout
- 38:04Speaker 1: the day as we seek to get a better understanding
- 38:07Speaker 1: of how we can learn exactly what happened and who
- 38:10Speaker 1: was responsible, can you suggest and you are incredibly brilliant person, obviously,
- 38:15Speaker 1: in your interactions with mister Epstein, could you suggest or
- 38:18Speaker 1: do you have any suggestions of who are people within
- 38:21Speaker 1: his orbit, whether they were assistants, you may have interacted
- 38:24Speaker 1: with staff, you may have seen that we should be
- 38:27Speaker 1: asking questions to get additional information. If you were given
- 38:32Speaker 1: the committee some thoughts about folks that we should be
- 38:34Speaker 1: talking to in this investigation, is there anyone that you
- 38:37Speaker 1: could suggest or that you would suggest, whether you remember
- 38:40Speaker 1: their names or not, but folks within Jeffrey Epstein's orbit
- 38:44Speaker 1: that could have information vital to the investigation gates You know,
- 38:48Speaker 1: I'm really not sure because his illegal activity didn't come
- 38:51Speaker 1: up and weren't happening when I was ever there, And
- 38:55Speaker 1: I mentioned that my second dinner just day and Larry
- 38:57Speaker 1: Summers were present, and I've said in subsequent dinners the
- 39:01Speaker 1: two Norwegian gentlemen were present. Later on in twenty fourteen,
- 39:05Speaker 1: as I pushed Epstein on who were these people that
- 39:08Speaker 1: he had this close professional relationship relative their taxes and
- 39:12Speaker 1: their will and therefore that they might be doing philanthropically,
- 39:16Speaker 1: he had me meet with a number of them. But
- 39:18Speaker 1: I don't want to cast any aspersion on those men,
- 39:21Speaker 1: because I don't have specific knowledge of any of these
- 39:23Speaker 1: men's bad behavior. But you know, those were some of
- 39:26Speaker 1: the people who were around, and you know, part of
- 39:28Speaker 1: the reason that I foolishly spent time with Epstein was
- 39:32Speaker 1: seeing those other well known people in his orbit that
- 39:34Speaker 1: had an influence on me. But I'm not blaming them,
- 39:37Speaker 1: and I do feel bad that my spending time with
- 39:40Speaker 1: them may have furnished his reputation to some degree. All right, folks,
- 39:44Speaker 1: we're going to wrap up right here, and in the
- 39:46Speaker 1: next episode we're going to pick up where we left off.
- 39:49Speaker 1: All the information that goes with this episode can be
