SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone, I hope you've had a beautiful week.
• 0:07
SPEAKER_00: I wanted to come on and let you all know that my newest book called Ego Degradation, Pulling Back the Veil of Evolution to See Your Mind's Programming, is now available for pre-order in both ebook and paperback.
• 0:19
SPEAKER_00: This book is not solely about ego degradation, but takes a very deep dive into all lessons, whether that be the core karmic lesson or symptom karmic lessons.
• 0:29
SPEAKER_00: Introduces a concept I created called the false four, which discusses the four major tricks the ego likes to play on us in our everyday lives.
• 0:37
SPEAKER_00: And of course, discusses ego degradation at length, including severe ego degradation, what it feels like being in it, and how to regain your 3D life and reprogram your ego once you come out.
• 0:50
SPEAKER_00: It is a book on mindfulness, non-attachment, and understanding what both your brain and ego are doing on a day-to-day basis and when you encounter ego degradation.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_00: If you hold on a minute, I will do a small reading from one of the chapters.
• 1:06
SPEAKER_00: But before that, the book is available at most major retail stores, and if you are planning on reading it, I would ask if you wouldn't mind pre-ordering it if you're able to, as this is apparently what dictates whether a book enters the physical sphere of bookstores.
• 1:23
SPEAKER_00: Meaning, the more pre-orders the book has, the more likely it will show up in actual bookstores, which would be pretty cool.
• 1:31
SPEAKER_00: So with that, here is an excerpt from Ego Degradation.
• 1:37
SPEAKER_00: This reading is from chapter five entitled The False Four and a section called You Are Your Own Worst Enemy.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_00: It's easy enough to say that if you weren't around people, that you wouldn't be affected.
• 1:50
SPEAKER_00: It's other people who affect your mental peace.
• 1:53
  SPEAKER_00: It's others' actions who make you feel X, Y, and Z.
• 1:57
SPEAKER_00: I challenge you to sit by yourself in a room with no distractions for one hour and see if you make any judgments.
• 2:04
  SPEAKER_00: Because you will.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_00: Whether it's that the room is too hot or too cold, too sunny or too dark, too small or too cluttered, these are all judgments that affect your mental peace in the moment.
• 2:16
SPEAKER_00: Of course, you can get up from your chair and turn on the heat or raise the blinds or dust the furniture, but the caveat of being alone was to not have any distractions.
• 2:26
SPEAKER_00: And your mind has already created distractions by needing or wanting to take action on the simplest of things, such as the temperature or amount of light.
• 2:34
SPEAKER_00: When moving past these mundane tasks, can you sit for one hour and not drive yourself crazy with thoughts?
• 2:41
SPEAKER_00: This is what the ego does, it thinks.
• 2:44
SPEAKER_00: Its job is to think and problem solve, whether that's by remembering things, planning things, solving puzzles, ruminating on things, or feeling things.
• 2:53
SPEAKER_00: Can you be mindful enough about these thoughts that arise to not allow them to affect you?
• 2:58
SPEAKER_00: If you're an avid meditator, then maybe.
• 3:01
SPEAKER_00: But what if you were asked to sit in this room by yourself for a week instead of an hour?
• 3:06
SPEAKER_00: Even if you were allowed distractions such as the internet, your phone, TV, and books, would you be perfectly content and not have any negatively perceived emotions pop up?
• 3:17
SPEAKER_00: What if the movie you were watching had a sad scene, or the show you were watching had a cliffhanger ending, or you didn't understand a part of the book you were reading?
• 3:26
SPEAKER_00: Going even further, would you find a reason to get dressed in the morning or take a shower if you knew you weren't going to see anyone or go anywhere?
• 3:34
SPEAKER_00: Would you feel lonely after a few days?
• 3:37
SPEAKER_00: Would you start texting with people just so you didn't have to feel so alone?
• 3:40
SPEAKER_00: What if the person you had a crush on didn't respond to you for four days?
• 3:45
SPEAKER_00: How would your mind spin?
• 3:47
SPEAKER_00: What would you assume about them?
• 3:49
SPEAKER_00: Would you start planning all of the things you're going to do once this alone time is finished?
• 3:53
SPEAKER_00: Would you think about the work you have to get done or the errands you have to run or hobbies you want to start?
• 3:59
SPEAKER_00: All of these things are created by your own mind, not by anything external.
• 4:03
SPEAKER_00: You can state that it is still external because it's the movie that made you sad, the TV show that made you frustrated, the book that made you confused.
• 4:11
SPEAKER_00: But in reality, you are allowing your mind to create these emotional judgments based on its natural process and not taking the time to be mindful about why you feel these things.
• 4:22
SPEAKER_00: The movie made you sad because an animal was harmed in it and it reminded you of your own pet that died, or because the death of innocence inherently reminds you of your own childhood innocence that was lost, and therefore you're feeling nostalgic.
• 4:35
SPEAKER_00: The TV show's ending frustrating you and the book confusing you brought up emotions because you feel a lack of control in some way, whether that's control of what will happen next, control over not knowing, or control over your own mind's understanding.
• 4:49
SPEAKER_00: These things are not created by external forces, but always your own ego.
• 4:53
SPEAKER_00: There is nothing wrong with making judgments.
• 4:56
SPEAKER_00: What creates problems for the ego is when it attaches to these judgments and won't let go.
• 5:02
SPEAKER_00: As a society, we talk about this when we relay that so-and-so is, quote, so closed-minded.
• 5:08
SPEAKER_00: They're closed-minded because they are attached to their judgments of what is right and what is wrong, good or bad, black or white.
• 5:16
SPEAKER_00: Open-mindedness refers to when someone can take their judgment, whether that be their perceived knowledge, feelings on a matter, beliefs in a system, or past egoic programming, and be willing to put it aside in order to expand their definitions.
• 5:30
SPEAKER_00: Open-mindedness is a willingness to challenge preconceived egoic convictions and algorithms in lieu of new ways of looking at things, understanding that there is always more to learn, and a comprehension that everything the ego thinks it knows is really just a subjective judgment.
• 5:49
SPEAKER_00: Open mindedness is purely mindfulness.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_00: So thank you guys for listening to me read, and thank you so much for your continued support.
• 5:58
SPEAKER_00: All of my best and highest vibrations to you.
