- 0:32What is going on, everybody?
- 0:34Welcome to the Clydesdale Media Weight Loss Journey.
- 0:37My name is Scott Schweitzer.
- 0:38I'm the Clydesdale.
- 0:39I'm the one losing the weight.
- 0:41She's Coach Cheryl Nasso.
- 0:43She's the one teaching me how.
- 0:45And we do this as our weekly check-in every week just to kind of see how everything is going.
- 0:51And so here we are.
- 0:53Before we get into the weight loss, though, I've been in back-to-back meetings with
- 0:58The first meeting, we had a meeting last week to put something on the back burner.
- 1:03And yet we talked about it again today for an hour.
- 1:07Then in the second meeting, we get in there and they say, we don't have much to talk about.
- 1:11We'll probably be done in 10 minutes.
- 1:12An hour later, they're still going.
- 1:14I said, listen, I got to go.
- 1:16See you.
- 1:19I hate meetings.
- 1:22I agree.
- 1:23Especially when you feel like it's just BS that like,
- 1:28Could have been handled without being in a meeting.
- 1:30I went from a really good mood today to a real bad mood in like two meetings.
- 1:35Yeah.
- 1:35Yeah.
- 1:37It's crazy.
- 1:38It's just, yeah, go ahead.
- 1:41I was just going to say, but you know, what gets me out of the funk are people like Lex and Holly and Corey and Judy hanging out with us on a, on a Tuesday afternoon.
- 1:53This is my favorite time of the week.
- 1:56Yeah.
- 1:57yeah yeah i like the 4 p.m spot i think it's been great for us and jody's here i get jody twice in one day jody and holly were both on earlier today for my um uh jody said i hope you told everybody to shut the and i'll let you all finish the rest yeah yeah well no i totally can relate to sometimes like it can just be a snowballing it's like one meeting can put you in a bad mood and then the rest of them are just like
- 2:24Yeah, I totally get it.
- 2:26And not knowing exactly what your job entails and what these meetings might be.
- 2:30Sometimes it's like kind of like being in school when like you feel like you're smarter than the teacher and you're like just sitting there because you have to.
- 2:38And the teacher's wondering why you're dozing off.
- 2:41And it's because like literally it's it's just boring.
- 2:44So.
- 2:45Well, the first meeting, they wouldn't even let me talk for like 15 minutes.
- 2:48Every time I'd go to say something, they'd talk over me.
- 2:51So I just muted myself and I literally turned my head like I wasn't like a kid not listening anymore.
- 3:00Well, I know your day was kind of crappy, but your weekend was amazing.
- 3:06So fill us in on your travel to Arizona.
- 3:12How'd you do?
- 3:14So I left on Wednesday morning real early.
- 3:20I did not eat before the flight because I don't like to go to the bathroom on a plane.
- 3:27Yeah.
- 3:29So we get to Tempe.
- 3:33We're an hour early.
- 3:34I can't even check into the Airbnb for nine hours.
- 3:38Okay.
- 3:44So I, I get down to baggage claim.
- 3:46I get my bags.
- 3:46There's a Starbucks there.
- 3:48I have my first cup of coffee and I got a egg sandwich.
- 3:56I then just kind of hung out at the Starbucks because it had a couch, caught up on some stuff on my phone.
- 4:05And then Stephanie Price from the teen pit, she was head of medical at Legends.
- 4:12So she was there the day before and she said I could come over and crash at her Airbnb and
- 4:19So take my luggage, backpack, two bags, has all my gear, all my clothes, all that, hop in an Uber, go to a place.
- 4:27She's on the third floor, no elevator.
- 4:30So now I'm like farmer carrying two luggage, a 40 pound backpack up the flights of stairs, get in, have a nice time with her.
- 4:41She goes to take her kids swimming and I'd fall asleep on her couch.
- 4:47And I had an apple.
- 4:50She offered me an apple and I had some water.
- 4:53Then I get to the venue and I don't eat until the end of the day.
- 4:57And I am ready to
- 5:01take someone off.
- 5:02Yeah.
- 5:03It was way too long.
- 5:04I screwed the first day up.
- 5:07We get back to the Airbnb.
- 5:09Jamie finally gets there.
- 5:10Her plane was delayed.
- 5:11A lot of stuff happened there, but then her husband cooked for us and it was awesome.
- 5:16A nice big meal.
- 5:18So we sat down and ate, um, did that.
- 5:21And then the rest of the week, like fell into line because the one thing legends did is take care of everybody.
- 5:29Um,
- 5:29They took care of the vendors.
- 5:31They took care of the volunteers.
- 5:32They took care of the media.
- 5:35They fed them all weekend long.
- 5:37And it was basically like a rice of some kind, a big thing of veggies, because it was like a little buffet, a big thing of veggies, and then two choices of protein.
- 5:50Awesome.
- 5:52At every single meal.
- 5:53That's awesome.
- 5:56Yeah, so it was exactly what we said, awesome.
- 6:00We could take a break, go in, get lunch, get dinner.
- 6:04So I was set the entire weekend.
- 6:08That's freaking amazing.
- 6:10I mean, they don't even do that at the games.
- 6:13Like, that's amazing.
- 6:15So that's really awesome.
- 6:16But I've been preaching forever.
- 6:18The media are the people telling your story.
- 6:22You want them to tell the best story possible.
- 6:24You want them to be happy.
- 6:25Yeah, yeah.
- 6:26The volunteers were there for free doing all this stuff for you.
- 6:30They should be taking care of the vendors.
- 6:33They're the ones paying for you to be able to hold this event.
- 6:36Like they, they took care of the people they needed to take care of.
- 6:41Gotcha.
- 6:42It was awesome.
- 6:43So it sounds like nutrition was covered and that's awesome.
- 6:46I mean, that's great.
- 6:48And then in terms of like,
- 6:51just overall, like the rest of the day, did you have enough snacks and everything on hand or were you pretty much set with the meals and just kind of stuck with those?
- 7:01I really just stuck with the meals and did a snack at the end of the night.
- 7:06Gotcha.
- 7:07Did you guys go out to eat anywhere?
- 7:08Uh, so I did go to In-N-Out for the first time in my life.
- 7:15Oh,
- 7:17All right.
- 7:18So just tried the burger.
- 7:21That was it.
- 7:22And then we went to a Mexican restaurant because you're in Arizona, right?
- 7:28Right.
- 7:28And I got a really good burrito, like a chicken burrito.
- 7:32It was really good.
- 7:34That was it.
- 7:35So let's go back to In-N-Out Burger.
- 7:38Worth it or scale of 1 to 10?
- 7:42Worth it.
- 7:43All right.
- 7:44All right.
- 7:44Nine.
- 7:45Nine and a half.
- 7:46Love it.
- 7:47Uh, just cause kind of curious.
- 7:49I just always like to know that, you know, it's like those places, like those nostalgic places.
- 7:52You're like, was it worth it or not?
- 7:55Okay.
- 7:55It was worth it.
- 7:56So that's awesome.
- 7:57And the Mexican restaurant, pretty good.
- 8:00Yeah, I'd say a seven.
- 8:03Awesome.
- 8:03All right.
- 8:03Awesome.
- 8:04And obviously the food at the venue, pretty good.
- 8:08Yeah, it was really fresh.
- 8:10That's awesome.
- 8:12I think it was somebody from the university cooking it because it was in the sports facility.
- 8:18Cool.
- 8:19So probably the same people who feed the football team and all that.
- 8:24You had the best case scenario for travel.
- 8:26You were traveling with somebody that was competing who was likely eating pretty healthy.
- 8:32And you had them serving you healthy food at the venue.
- 8:35So you had the best scenario.
- 8:37of both everything.
- 8:38So it was really just your travel days that were probably a little bit screwed up.
- 8:42Did you end up doing any workouts?
- 8:48I did not.
- 8:49Yeah.
- 8:50Like I said in our last podcast, I know you.
- 8:53Like I was like, I feel like I know you.
- 8:57And I think somebody else in there was like, ha ha, Cheryl knows you.
- 9:00We also know like I'm nonstop moving.
- 9:04Exactly.
- 9:05Well, that's why I said it.
- 9:07I knew that going into the week, like, expectations for you, you're so... The thought, you're like, oh, there's rowers.
- 9:14I want to do things differently.
- 9:15I'm like, but I know you.
- 9:17Once you go, when you're in your... I call it your flow state.
- 9:20Once you're in your flow state, anybody, once you're in your flow state, you don't want to be disrupted.
- 9:25You want to be able to just keep grinding through, like, because you're actually in a good place.
- 9:29Like, you're in your groove, you know?
- 9:31Like, you're feeling good.
- 9:33It's kind of like, bring more, you know?
- 9:35So...
- 9:37I get it.
- 9:39One thing I wanted to bring up is Stephanie's daughter was supposed to take photos for me.
- 9:45She gets to Arizona and she's sick.
- 9:48So the first day she attempts to take pictures and she got a bunch of great swimming pictures and we made a reel out of it and all that.
- 9:56But the next morning I get a text from Stephanie that her daughter's not going to make it.
- 10:03So I've shifted to, well, I better take some content.
- 10:08Yeah.
- 10:09So I haven't been out on the floor in over a year because I've let other people kind of do that.
- 10:18And the funny thing was, they let me have full floor access.
- 10:23I could go...
- 10:24out on the floor wherever, where the athletes were as close as I wanted, but you're between the crowd and the athlete.
- 10:32So you had to squat to take your pictures.
- 10:36And what did we just finish?
- 10:38Squat.
- 10:40Piece of cake.
- 10:42Love it.
- 10:44I was squatting all over the place.
- 10:46No issues.
- 10:47Um, getting down low, getting pictures, um, all that kind of stuff that really, really felt good.
- 10:53Yeah.
- 10:54Yeah.
- 10:55That's, I mean, it's, it's so crazy because when we think about how hard we are in ourselves with our performance in the gym, you know, or like what we wish we could do, you know, like, God, I wish I could be able to do like a hundred air squats unbroken or whatever it is.
- 11:13Like I should be able to do that.
- 11:14Or we, we think about all of these things, but we often neglect to think about how much our training to achieve those things is
- 11:23makes life so much easier.
- 11:25It really does.
- 11:26Like there's so many things in life that, you know, people don't realize that being fit.
- 11:31And in fact, yesterday on a webinar I did on fat loss for women over 40,
- 11:38one of the girls had mentioned, she's like, you know, somebody said to me that when I turn, cause she's like 38 is telling me that I'm going to be paying for all the stuff that I've done in my thirties and my twenties with all this weightlifting.
- 11:51And I'm like, I'll be honest, you pay the price more for not being active than you do for weightlifting.
- 11:59So
- 12:00But I'm happy that it pays off, you know, so it's good stuff.
- 12:03You know, you got to keep yourself moving.
- 12:06So back home, back into routine a little bit.
- 12:10How's recovery been since the travel?
- 12:12I know the time change.
- 12:13How's your sleep been?
- 12:18I think you're muted.
- 12:19You are muted.
- 12:25Okay, there we go.
- 12:27Sorry.
- 12:28It's been a while.
- 12:28Bruce jumps in the chat.
- 12:30I mute myself.
- 12:31I know, right?
- 12:32There's a correlation there.
- 12:36But anyway, sleep's been crap.
- 12:40Yeah.
- 12:41Trying to get back on the East Coast time zone.
- 12:47And I thought my sinuses would be better in the dry heat of Tempe, and they were not.
- 12:55Yeah.
- 12:57Well, sometimes they can make things even worse because it's so dry.
- 13:00It dries everything up.
- 13:03I could not get enough water.
- 13:05Yeah.
- 13:06And you can hear my voice is shot.
- 13:08Yeah, I can hear it.
- 13:10I live in Arizona.
- 13:13The first couple nights, okay.
- 13:15And then it got worse as we got there.
- 13:17Yeah.
- 13:19So the sinuses are still a big issue for you right now.
- 13:22Yeah.
- 13:23I mean...
- 13:26Like I can breathe through my nose.
- 13:28It's just, and I'm not going through like the tissues I was going through before and all that stuff.
- 13:34It's just at night, sometimes I get post-nasal drip and that's what causes everything.
- 13:41Yeah.
- 13:42When's your next follow-up to the doctor?
- 13:46Right after Christmas.
- 13:47Okay.
- 13:47Hopefully we'll get some more treatment there.
- 13:50So back home, have you been back to the gym today?
- 13:53No.
- 13:55No.
- 13:56Okay.
- 13:56Are you, did you work out today?
- 13:58I did work out yesterday because I took yesterday off.
- 14:02Oh, okay.
- 14:02Just to kind of like loosen up super light.
- 14:06Um, I did like a, like a 30, 20, 10, um, empty barbell clean and jerk and a pushup workout.
- 14:16Oh, cool.
- 14:19Did you make that up or did you get from Glarus?
- 14:21I just made it up.
- 14:22Gotcha.
- 14:23All right.
- 14:24Well, I feel like we have to get working on the conditioning month.
- 14:28So, you know, we started that a little bit.
- 14:30So whether we, you did the 20 minute test.
- 14:35Yes.
- 14:36And if anything, we'll just really focus on retesting the 20 minute test.
- 14:42And, but I, we have plenty of time for that.
- 14:44You're like, oh shit.
- 14:47But I do want to work on some endurance based stuff.
- 14:50So we'll kind of, I'll put together two more workouts for you for this week.
- 14:54One will be like mixed modal and one will be an assault bike workout.
- 14:57So you can have those to work in.
- 14:58And the thing about the assault bike guys that are so good is it does train your legs endurance wise, but it shouldn't leave you sore.
- 15:06Like it's kind of like a sled.
- 15:08where because you're not doing a negative contraction, you won't get sore from it.
- 15:12Now, you know, that's something that you guys can realize that you can, the salt bike is easy.
- 15:16The only thing that'll happen is sitting on a bike for too many, you know, it tightens up your hips a little bit, but sort of sitting too much.
- 15:22So yeah.
- 15:24Um, how about, I think I'm bringing it down here in the next day or two.
- 15:29Yeah, it's a good idea.
- 15:30It's, I think, I feel like it's, why not, right?
- 15:34Why not make it easier for you to do that?
- 15:3617 on Monday, next week.
- 15:38It's crazy.
- 15:39I mean, if I were you, I wouldn't even, because I don't even, do you guys have heater at the gym?
- 15:43They have heat there, yeah.
- 15:48Cause I know that when I was up in new England, they very rarely turned it on and it was like freezing inside the gym.
- 15:54You know, I'd be in layers and like, would have to like wait until I warmed up to get things, you know, done.
- 16:00Jody Lynn says she wants to do the workout virtually.
- 16:03So the engine engine month started with a 20 minute max calorie on an assault bike test.
- 16:11Yeah.
- 16:13Yeah.
- 16:13And then it kind of got derailed a little bit because of your travels, but that's okay.
- 16:19So we'll get on it this week.
- 16:21So no big deal.
- 16:22We can start, we can start with your first workout tomorrow.
- 16:25All right.
- 16:27So nutrition, are you back to tracking things since Arizona?
- 16:32Arizona.
- 16:35Nothing is logged yet.
- 16:36I did weigh everything today.
- 16:37I have it written down.
- 16:39I will start today.
- 16:40Okay, cool.
- 16:42Awesome.
- 16:43Had you weighed in at all or no?
- 16:45No.
- 16:46Okay.
- 16:46I wasn't sure if you had or not.
- 16:48Um, don't, you don't have to, you don't have to worry about that right now.
- 16:50At the end of the day, it's like the scale matters, but it doesn't matter so much when you know, there's probably not going to be much change or that the focus isn't about changing the scale.
- 17:00Like this past weekend, you know, your experience was more about like, obviously a big event that you guys want to be a bigger part of, um, and fueling your body, getting enough calories in feeling good, you know?
- 17:15Um,
- 17:16Sounds like you didn't really get to treat yourself to anything special, which I don't know what there is really special in Arizona.
- 17:22I guess the Mexican food, you know, so.
- 17:25So I did leave out one treat that we did.
- 17:27Okay.
- 17:29We went to Voodoo Donut.
- 17:31Oh, okay.
- 17:34And I'm always disappointed with donuts.
- 17:36I shouldn't ever go like out for donut.
- 17:39Yeah.
- 17:39Yeah.
- 17:40But it's been on like, it's on all the food channels and this place you should go to.
- 17:47And it was fun.
- 17:48And they, you know, they're famous for making a voodoo doll donut.
- 17:53That is, you put it, they put a pretzel stick through it like a voodoo doll.
- 17:57And the middle is raspberry jelly that looks like blood.
- 18:01Yeah.
- 18:02That's awesome.
- 18:02It's funny because when you said voodoo donut, I'm like, why do I feel like I know that name?
- 18:06But I wouldn't know.
- 18:10Arizona donuts.
- 18:12You know what I think it is, is I think that they might have, they're not a chain, are they?
- 18:18They're a small chain.
- 18:19I was going to say, I think that they have one of those at Universal Studios.
- 18:24Yeah, they do.
- 18:26They have one in the CityWalk area.
- 18:29That's where I remember them from.
- 18:31So is that the donut you tried, the Voodoo one, or did you try a different donut?
- 18:35I tried the Old Dirty Bastard donut.
- 18:38Okay.
- 18:39And what kind of a donut was that?
- 18:41It was a yeast donut with Oreos on top and hot fudge.
- 18:49You know what's funny is
- 18:52I don't, I think I'm more of a, I don't like a lot of stuff on my donuts.
- 18:57Like I'm more of a simple donut girl, like a glazed donut or something, you know?
- 19:03You know, it's funny because growing up, you know what my favorite donuts were, but we also didn't have, we never went to fancy places as a kid.
- 19:09Our donut shop was like Dunkin' Donuts, which you guys are like, that's like...
- 19:13That's like Kmart, right?
- 19:15It's like the crap of donuts.
- 19:16But I just loved those, the cake, the chocolate cake donut with the glazing on it.
- 19:21That was, those were my favorite.
- 19:23But, you know, even when I think about donuts, I'm very simple.
- 19:26I'd rather just have a glazed donut with like, or even a frosted donut, but very simple stuff.
- 19:33I like the spice flavors and stuff, but.
- 19:35So they have like, they have fun donuts, but they have like, it's called a yeast raised and it was like double the height of a regular yeast donut.
- 19:43Oh, wow.
- 19:45They have a Homer Simpson that's the pink donut from the... Yep.
- 19:52They're not sprinkles, but the dots, speckles on it.
- 19:56And then they had the Marshall Mathers, which is M&M's on it, because that's M&M's real name.
- 20:03Yeah.
- 20:03And they have a Captain Crunch one.
- 20:08And then, yeah, they have all – it's crazy stuff.
- 20:11I'm with Polly.
- 20:12They do have an apple fritter.
- 20:13I'm with Polly.
- 20:16I definitely am more like that, like the spice, the apple.
- 20:19That definitely would be more of my thing.
- 20:20Okay.
- 20:21Well, so I like that because when you travel, it is kind of fun to test out some of the local fare or something that you maybe don't get the hang of usually.
- 20:30So overall experience at Legends, you had a good time.
- 20:35Media coverage, you were able to kind of get what you wanted.
- 20:40Overall feeling...
- 20:41Because I like to talk to you about, you know, we talk a lot about like self-worth and such, especially when you're trying to grow.
- 20:47How did you feel in terms of like, I fit in here, I'm running the show, I'm doing my thing, crushing it versus like, I feel like I'm not getting what I need to be the person that I want to be here.
- 21:02So I think it was one of the best events I've ever been to.
- 21:08It was different because Jamie's a co-host of mine.
- 21:11She's a partner of mine.
- 21:13But she's competing and that is her sole focus.
- 21:17I was supposed to have a photographer.
- 21:19I really didn't for most of the weekend.
- 21:23So it was old school Scott weekend on his own doing every bit of the, the pieces and, um, part of me really enjoyed it.
- 21:37And part of me really realized how much I love the way it is now.
- 21:44Yeah.
- 21:46I say alone, but Holly, who's in the chat, freaking killed it.
- 21:54She's the rock star of this team.
- 21:59Those leaderboards that she puts out all the time, people think, well, that's cool.
- 22:03We get some information.
- 22:05But to the athletes, it means the world.
- 22:08It gives them something to share with their friends and family that wasn't provided to them by the event.
- 22:19You can go to Competition Corner and screenshot, but it doesn't look a tenth as good as Holly's version of the leaderboard.
- 22:27You know, I'm just going to give Holly some more prep or more props because Holly, also a client of mine, she's crushing it in her own nutrition journey.
- 22:37She is a very busy person.
- 22:40So for her to be taking the time to put that stuff together, I know is not easy and I know it takes time, but she is working her butt off.
- 22:51And so, and so I'm, I'm very happy that you get value out of it.
- 22:56And I think everybody,
- 22:58should be Holly.
- 22:59She's just, I don't even know what else to say.
- 23:01Like, cause she definitely is crushing it.
- 23:03And so it's not easy to be full time with every, just like you.
- 23:08So just running so many things and, and to take the time to do that stuff.
- 23:11So we appreciate it, Holly.
- 23:13So Corey was at MFC competing.
- 23:16He says, I have the leaderboards with my name on them that Holly made, saved on my phone for life.
- 23:24And I heard that from athlete after athlete after athlete after athlete.
- 23:29Jason Grubb went on and on about how cool it is that what Holly does.
- 23:35Yeah, that's great.
- 23:37Like, and so I cannot say enough amazing things about her.
- 23:41Um, and I'm, and I know she's crushing life, whatever she puts her mind to.
- 23:46I'm sure she's crushing.
- 23:47Yep.
- 23:48Um, very dedicated.
- 23:50So, yeah, I'm so blessed.
- 23:53Yeah.
- 23:54So blessed to have her.
- 23:56Um, all right.
- 23:57So looking at this week ahead, anything on the calendar besides being a busy work person?
- 24:05so now now the holidays begin yeah um so my the switzer family christmas is this weekend on saturday okay um it's small there's not much of us left um it's just my mom my nephew his wife me my wife and my daughter and her boyfriend what do you guys do what do you guys do on actual christmas day
- 24:33So my nephew goes with his wife to their family and I go and just hang out with my mom.
- 24:42Okay.
- 24:43Got it.
- 24:43So this is the weekend where you all get together and then you still get together with mom on Christmas day.
- 24:48Yeah.
- 24:49And my nephew lives in Columbus too.
- 24:51So my mom drives over to Columbus and we do it at his house.
- 24:55Oh, all right.
- 24:56Cool.
- 24:57Awesome.
- 24:58So this weekend's your small family thing.
- 25:01Um, how are you feeling in terms of nutrition leading up to that?
- 25:03You feel like you're in a good spot?
- 25:06Yeah.
- 25:07Yeah.
- 25:07I don't, I'm done with like the foods I'm craving right now are the healthy foods.
- 25:17And I just, I feel like I'm in a really good, good head space.
- 25:21Gotcha.
- 25:22What about, do you guys have any holiday traditional food that you plan on having this weekend or that are within your twice or family Christmas?
- 25:30My side of the family doesn't do traditional anymore because we've never liked dry Turkey.
- 25:36Um, and so my, my nephew is going to smoke a brisket and,
- 25:41Um, so we're, we're having brisket and, um, I think broccoli and cauliflowers aside, um, cause my nephew eats healthy too.
- 25:53Um, and then I will probably have, there'll probably be some sweets and stuff sitting around too.
- 25:58I'm assuming.
- 25:59Gotcha.
- 26:01Awesome.
- 26:01So I don't know the whole menu yet, but that's kind of the gist.
- 26:05Is your wife baking any cookies?
- 26:08So when I was at Legends, she went home to see her parents.
- 26:14Okay.
- 26:15And she made cookies with her mom.
- 26:16Okay.
- 26:18Now, last week we talked about making cookies and wasn't worth it.
- 26:22For her to make cookies with her mom, then that's worth it.
- 26:24Got it.
- 26:25That makes sense.
- 26:26That's why I was asking if she was doing any baking or not.
- 26:28So I thought, I originally thought you were going to tell me that, well, while you were at Legends, she was home baking cookies.
- 26:33But that makes more sense that she was with family.
- 26:37So, all right.
- 26:37So nothing really eventful.
- 26:39And honestly, just knowing how you did after Thanksgiving, like it's not even a thing.
- 26:44It's not like you have to stress about anything.
- 26:45So you kind of pick it right back up where you left off.
- 26:49um are you planning on once i'm through that like when i go to my mom's house and it's just her and i yeah like you know how it is my mom doesn't eat bad yeah so we we just hang out watch movies play games and eat whatever we want it's not right um it's not traditional anything got it yeah um what about are you planning on getting back into the gym this week are you going to be working out from home mostly
- 27:19Yeah.
- 27:19I plan on it.
- 27:20I, it's just yesterday getting home today, getting back to work, you know, trying to get back into just a schedule.
- 27:29Yep.
- 27:30Yeah.
- 27:30Do you, are you taking a day off from everything every week?
- 27:35Are you, are you working pretty much seven days of the podcast right now?
- 27:40Uh, right now I'm trying to take the weekends off from the podcast through the end of the year.
- 27:47That's good.
- 27:48Awesome.
- 27:48All right.
- 27:49When do you plan to weigh in again?
- 27:50As soon as I sleep through the night.
- 27:55Got it.
- 27:55I like that.
- 27:56Give yourself a little bit of that.
- 27:58So next week we'll plan on having an updated weight.
- 28:01I think that for this week, it should be about you just being back on track with consistency, proving to yourself that like you can get right back to a habit.
- 28:10Like the habit of tracking is routine when you're at home, just like the other things you got to do during your day that you don't like doing like quote unquote work meetings.
- 28:19Um, but you can do it again and get back on track with things.
- 28:22We'll see where things are at next week.
- 28:24Give you two, two workouts.
- 28:26If you end up getting in a third one, we can always throw a third one in for this week for you, for your engine work.
- 28:31Um, but I feel like, I feel like everything's going good right now.
- 28:36I feel like you're in a good spot.
- 28:38Yeah, I do too.
- 28:40Just need to get my voice back, um, and get to, uh, sleeping through the night again.
- 28:47Have you thought more about Waterpalooza yet?
- 28:52I think about it all the time.
- 28:53Am I closer to a decision?
- 28:55I don't know.
- 28:56You think about it when you walk outside.
- 28:58You're like, ooh, that warm Florida weather.
- 29:01I have a big meeting on Friday.
- 29:05Okay.
- 29:06And once I have that meeting, I'll be better equipped to answer that question.
- 29:13No travel planned, at least until next year sometime.
- 29:17Correct.
- 29:18Awesome.
- 29:19All right.
- 29:19So you're home.
- 29:20You're in a good spot right now.
- 29:22Because travel is really the only thing that ever really kind of gets you a little bit.
- 29:26But right now you're doing good.
- 29:30I love gumbo.
- 29:32I haven't had gumbo in years.
- 29:34I used to make gumbo with my grandfather.
- 29:36Really?
- 29:37My grandfather, my grandfather was such a good cook.
- 29:39He could cook so many different things.
- 29:41I, he never had a theme to his barbecues though.
- 29:45Like we would have the most random, we'd have gumbo, but we would have like other stuff too, like Italian food.
- 29:51Like he just would put together spread.
- 29:53So there'd be something there for everybody.
- 29:56But man, I haven't had gumbo in years.
- 29:58to tell one story about Corey.
- 30:00So I'm in at legends and one of his, uh, training camp partners was competing at legends, Roy VJ.
- 30:10And so I interviewed him and at the very end of the interview, I asked him about Corey and, uh,
- 30:19And he hit it just the way I wanted him to hit it.
- 30:22And I posted it out there and I was waiting for a text from Corey and I never got it.
- 30:28That's funny.
- 30:29That's funny.
- 30:30Yeah.
- 30:31Yeah, I'm excited.
- 30:32I think the Legends, it sounds like they did a great job.
- 30:35Sounds like some big names were there.
- 30:39You know, I'm excited to see what next year is going to look like with it now actually being the actual event for Masters for the games.
- 30:47So we'll see.
- 30:48So I like that.
- 30:50Jeffrey puts in Gumbo Jambalaya Prime Rib.
- 30:53I'm also, I'm not a big prime rib person.
- 30:56I'd much rather filet.
- 30:58That's just me.
- 30:59Yeah.
- 30:59I'd, I'd much rather have a good brisket.
- 31:02Yeah.
- 31:03Yeah.
- 31:03I'm not really, I don't know what it is about the prime rib.
- 31:06You know what it is?
- 31:07It just doesn't look, I think it's the way it looks.
- 31:10It doesn't look appealing to me.
- 31:11I know people think it looks good, but to me it doesn't look appealing and I like a rare steak and everything, but I just,
- 31:18I don't know what it is about it, but I also don't really eat ribeye steak either.
- 31:24So what's crazy is we always get off on food in the show.
- 31:29For a nutrition show, we talk about food a lot.
- 31:31It's exactly what it is.
- 31:33So at the bar I used to work at as a bouncer, they made us a prime rib sandwich.
- 31:41So they take the prime rib and shave it like roast beef and put on the bun.
- 31:46And then they put fresh horseradish sauce on it.
- 31:49Yep.
- 31:49Fresh horseradish.
- 31:51Yeah.
- 31:51And a little bit of mayo and put on there.
- 31:53Oh my gosh.
- 31:54Does it come with the sauce, the au jus?
- 31:57Is it like that?
- 31:58Like the beef au jus?
- 31:59You can get the dip.
- 32:00Yeah.
- 32:01Okay.
- 32:01So I've had that before.
- 32:02That is really good.
- 32:03I've had that.
- 32:03That's really good.
- 32:04Yeah.
- 32:04Much better than a regular roast beef sandwich.
- 32:07Yeah.
- 32:07This is a nutrition show, but food is nutrition, right?
- 32:11So I think that people think that the weight loss journey means that you can't be enjoying food or like eating food, right?
- 32:19Like your nutrition is more than just chicken and broccoli.
- 32:23It should definitely be including these things.
- 32:26I mean, you had a donut, like this is all part of it.
- 32:29Um, you know, we definitely want to make sure that like, that's, that's the goal, right.
- 32:33Is to have that flexibility.
- 32:35Um,
- 32:40For sure.
- 32:40Yeah.
- 32:42Yeah.
- 32:43Again, I have no pipes left and Eric actually says prime rib is too much work for not a lot of return.
- 32:50Yeah.
- 32:51I do agree with that.
- 32:53It is so fatty.
- 32:55Agreed.
- 32:55Yeah.
- 32:57Maybe that's what it is.
- 32:59I'm not a, I'm not like, I like a tenderloin.
- 33:02I like that kinds of steak.
- 33:04I'm not really the fatty, like I don't do filet really.
- 33:07I'm not sorry for like, I don't do revise really.
- 33:09You know, I just don't, I just growing up.
- 33:12I used to hate, I used to call it the grizzle.
- 33:14Like, Oh, I put like, it used to like gross me out, but you know, so, but, uh, Every time I hear the word gristle, I think of the old 96 or, uh, on, uh, the great outdoors.
- 33:28no when john candy has to oh yeah yeah yeah okay okay he's like i'm done and you're like nope the gristle and they made him eat the gristle to finish it john candy this is bringing me back oh man so all right well i feel like you're in a good spot i'm excited to see how we finish out the year um and comments keep rolling in it maybe you want to add comments too so
- 33:55Oh, Corey.
- 33:58I don't think we can be friends anymore is what Corey said.
- 34:01Corey, if you can change my mind, you can make me a ribeye and make it really good.
- 34:05And if I, maybe I'll change my mind, but I just, you know, I, I would much rather a filet, you know, it's just me.
- 34:15So.
- 34:17I love, I love ribeyes and filets.
- 34:19So I, I like the best of both worlds there.
- 34:22In fact, for Christmas, I want to do tenderloin.
- 34:24We normally do the traditional ham and turkey, but I want to do tenderloin this year.
- 34:31I'm like, it's just way expensive.
- 34:34But I think what I'm going to do is I'm just going to buy dinner and I'm going to have them bring the appetizers.
- 34:41Cheryl, I'll make you a ribeye that you'll want to write a song about.
- 34:44Okay.
- 34:45Definitely won't be singing it though because y'all don't want to hear me sing.
- 34:51Definitely don't want to hear me sing, for sure.
- 34:54Jay Bird says, I can make a ribeye that you would die for.
- 34:57And Eric Weiss says, I'm team Cheryl.
- 34:59I'm all about this.
- 35:00Hey, any guy that wants to come cook me dinner, just let me know.
- 35:04I mean, hey, you know, we can turn this into Scott's weight loss journey.
- 35:07Cheryl, find somebody to cook her dinner journey.
- 35:09It's fine with me.
- 35:10It's still nutrition related.
- 35:11You can do that.
- 35:13Cheryl's dating name you can make a new show Holly says they always do chicken noodle soup and chili that's different yeah I like that but yeah I don't know honestly our family is very traditional ham turkey all the basic stuff Thanksgiving and Christmas are almost identical that's why I think I might change things up a little bit and do a tenderloin so yeah
- 35:40A couple years ago, we gave up on the traditional on my side of the family.
- 35:44Yeah.
- 35:45And I love it.
- 35:47Yeah.
- 35:48Well, we started this show about me bitching about all my meetings and being in a bad mood.
- 35:53And a half hour later, I'm in a great mood because of this audience and this show.
- 35:59We love you all.
- 36:00Thank you so much for being here.
- 36:02And we'll catch everybody next week on Clydesdale Media Weight Loss Journey.
- 36:07Bye, guys.
- 36:09Uh, sure.
- 36:10In a second.
- 36:11Hi guys.
