- 0:21Hey, everyone, welcome to Blessed this Mess in the True Grum Podcast.
- 0:23I don't care who is to say hast do. Hey, right, So
- 0:26we're back and this week we are going to Kentuckys. Do we haven't been
- 0:29there in a while. I don't think, Well, not a lot happened
- 0:32since Bartown. Maybe maybe something in between. There's gotta be Yeah, I
- 0:36had to do. I mean, Barstown is just rememorable. Kentucky's a smaller
- 0:41populated state. I would say, do you know, no, but I'm
- 0:44a sidey. I mean, if you say it was confidence, that was
- 0:48Kentucky's a smaller populated state, a lower population states do so not a lot
- 0:53happening. And they're good people there. They don't be murdering each other,
- 0:56you know, as much as they do in other places like Florida. Like
- 1:00Florida and Texas, they really hit up hard, a lot of murdering in
- 1:04Texas. Yeah, so I swear back this week we're going to Kentucky.
- 1:08We're trying to get back on schedule, so this will release on Wednesday to
- 1:12the Patreon and then Thursday to everybody else and then hopefully we can get on
- 1:17schedule. But we're probably lying to you because we say this every time,
- 1:21we say this every week. I also say I'm gonna do better on Instagram.
- 1:25I have been doing better on Instagram in Facebook. I've been sharing some
- 1:27of my recipes. I've been rellingto overnight oats. I've been trying to make
- 1:34better choices. So it's too late for the choice you made with me though,
- 1:41No, yeah, it's too late. I mean there's some things you
- 1:42can't undo with that lawyer. So where we are, where we are anyways,
- 1:49But what have we been up to this week's do stuff? It is
- 1:53late, So I'll warn you right now that what happened was is our our
- 2:00go to child, the baby. She is a great sleeper, so she
- 2:02normally is like we can count on her. We're gonna get her all ready,
- 2:07she's gonna have her last bottle and then she's going to bed. She's
- 2:10done for the night. Well tonight, she's still calls her zombie baby because
- 2:15she just pops awake all of a sudden. You'll just be walking by and
- 2:17all of a sudden, she just eyes open. She decided to be a
- 2:23party animal. No, she wasn't ap pill, She just didn't want to
- 2:25go to sleep. So anyway, so she went to bed later because we
- 2:29were like, okay, we have to whatever happens, we have to record
- 2:31tonight. So here it is so here it is eleven pm. And man,
- 2:37we're not We're not late people anymore. You know, we got we
- 2:39got things, we got humans. So anyways, we went to the farmer's
- 2:45market. That was fun. There's just too many people though. We really
- 2:49got to do somebody. All these peoples do almost stepped in dog shit too.
- 2:55I know, you know what, and you know what, we love
- 2:59animals. We have animals just after having children. I don't know if anybody
- 3:04else can relate, but I have zero patients for I can't even imagine getting
- 3:08another dog right now, Like it's just too much. So then whenever I'm
- 3:12out in public and I almost step in dog crap, I'm like, why
- 3:16are you bringing your dog? I don't think I don't think people should have
- 3:19brought that. I would not have brought my dog to that. There is
- 3:22way too many people. There was no grass. It was very it was
- 3:24it just was not There are certain things when you have more space and everything,
- 3:30I'm one hundred percent bring the dog everything, but this was not the
- 3:32place like we pick up the dog crap, but it was it was like
- 3:38diarrhega. Anyways, not saying we we one hundred percent. I took my
- 3:45dogs all sorts of places, but this was just way overcrowded. We were
- 3:50almost like, why are you know it's like grass there? Yeah, there
- 3:53wasn't any grass or anything. It was actually probably actually you probably shouldn't have
- 3:57brought your dog because their palls were probably getting burned on the sidewalk. Be
- 4:01Yeah, it was all just parking lot and stuff. So the poor dog
- 4:05was just trying to find the one piece of grassticle and it was a hun
- 4:09and some degrees out there. Yeah. So anyways, but we went.
- 4:12We had we went late because we had to go cause we still managed to
- 4:17spend over one hundred bucks. We did what we did a fast and furious
- 4:20at the end because what happened was is you really need to go to those
- 4:23types of things, especially when you have children and strollers. You need to
- 4:27go right when they open. But the problem is we have little gym on
- 4:30Saturdays, so I take at the little gym at the little gym, and
- 4:34so I take him to the little gym. So then we had to go
- 4:39afterwards, and it was it was just too many people. But I have
- 4:46a bone to pick with the people at the little gym though. I'm gonna
- 4:49say this right now, there are roles at the little gym. You are
- 4:55the The children do not wear socks or shoes or anything like that. The
- 5:00parents, however, the adults are supposed to wear socks. You are supposed
- 5:04to wear socks. I am. I can't even like tell you, and
- 5:08I have the bitchiest face whenever I see someone walking there and they don't have
- 5:12their socks on. The adults, I don't want to see your nasty ass
- 5:15feet. I don't want them walking all over everything. That's gross. No
- 5:19it is. It's like being on an airplane and watching somebody take off their
- 5:23socks, and yes, it's disgusting. There was this one guy that he
- 5:27was there with his wife, and I'd seen his wife there. His wife
- 5:30had the socks on and stuff, but he's like came in with his like
- 5:34nasty ass slides. They were slides, I believe is what they call them,
- 5:40like when they're not flip flops. They got the band Anyways, he
- 5:44had some nasty feet, and I was just I couldn't help myself. I
- 5:47kept looking down his feet, and his wife like was looking at me.
- 5:50So I don't know. I feel like he had every intention of going into
- 5:55the little gym with his child. But I don't know if I judge you
- 6:00face because all of a sudden, because all of a sudden, she's like,
- 6:04she's like, Dad is gonna stay out here and just watch. But
- 6:08you know what, put some freaking socks on if you're wearing sandals. What
- 6:11I used to do if I couldn't, if I was like in a rush,
- 6:13and I just throw on my sandals. I always grabbed a pair of
- 6:15socks and I throw on them socks and I go into there because you are
- 6:18adults and we don't want to see your nasty feet at the little gym.
- 6:21This is my PSA, and they should be enforcement. That's the rules to
- 6:26that's the rules, and they don't enforce. I couldn't need some bail money
- 6:32one day and one Saturday and I go, I just go, like just
- 6:36off the handle on somebody not wearing socks at the little gym. But yes,
- 6:42all right, make sure I think we're gonna get a bail fun going
- 6:45through our Patreon. Yes, I think we can all agree. All right,
- 6:48nobody wants to see adult feet. Okay, well that's all. So
- 6:54we went to the farmer's market. Wow. So so just not interesting this
- 6:58week. You're small talk. It's not interesting. I know I had something
- 7:01I was going to talk about. I had something I was going to talk
- 7:05about that was interesting, but I forgot what it was. Wow, that
- 7:09was interesting, Yeah, so interesting? You forgot about it? It was
- 7:13no. I was like I always think about some I'm like, oh,
- 7:15I'll talk about that on the podcast, and then I don't take a note
- 7:17of it and then I forget. So here we are talking about little jibbs,
- 7:21and you got a planner and stuff to get your life together, and
- 7:25you, oh, yeah, I was gonna get my life together. Has
- 7:29something happened planner? Open sense? Yes I have. I got all fancy
- 7:33with it and I drew like a fourth of July thing and that was last
- 7:38week. Well we're doing this today because we need to stay on track.
- 7:44But okay, well anyways, all right, so let's just move on.
- 7:50Patreon check us out if you want ad free in early access. Instagram.
- 7:57I'm trying to post more Facebook, same thing. Buy a coffee, that'd
- 8:03be great, especially right, now and Great Review. Huh, run out
- 8:09and get one. Maybe they don't know Great Review subscribe on iTunes and I
- 8:16think that that's Apple Podcast. Oh it's not. Itens whatever. I'm old,
- 8:22all right, So okay, let's get into this case. Out of
- 8:28a out of a Kentucky, Yes, out of Kentucky. So William E.
- 8:33Bill Sparkman, Junior goes By. Bill was born in August twelfth,
- 8:37nineteen fifty eight, in Bartow, Florida. Maybe mispronounced that to William Senior
- 8:43and Henry Henri all right. He had two brothers, Thomas and Jonathan.
- 8:48Bill would go on to attend Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, before
- 8:52going to Vanderbilt, where he would become a manager of the football team.
- 8:56He finished out his degree back in Florida at the un University of South Florida.
- 9:01Now after college, Bill decided to be a sports editors for his sports
- 9:05editor for his local hometown paper, the Mulberry Press. Bill was also the
- 9:11sports reporter, sports photographer, sports layout and even delivered papers to circulation boxes
- 9:16around town. I mean this was a small paper, so making subscriptions or
- 9:18something. You could wear a lot of hats at the Mulberry Press. I
- 9:22guess now. Bill was also spending his summers at Boy Scout Camp, where
- 9:28he was an Eagle Scout. Bill served three summers as the ecology director and
- 9:31two summers as program director. Bill then decided to enter the ranks of professional
- 9:37Scouting, serving twelve years in several councils, including a three year stint at
- 9:41the Associate Associate as the Associate National Director of the Order of the Arrow in
- 9:46Texas. So he's he's in. He's an adult boy Scout. We're just
- 9:52gonna We're gonna leave it there. What gotta have some adults in charge of
- 9:58the organization, Stewart. We just watched documentary on the Boy Scouts. It's
- 10:01best adults aren't involved. Okay, you might just want some Lord of the
- 10:05Fly stuff. Yes, the kids in charge. Maybe it might have gone
- 10:09better now many of them, Yes, probably now. Bill eventually moved to
- 10:13London, Kentucky, not London, England. He worked at the school for
- 10:18He worked at that school for nine years as a teaching assistant before going on
- 10:22to get his degree as a teacher online. Bill received his teaching degree for
- 10:26middle school math in two thousand and eight and while he was doing all this,
- 10:30he was battling non Hodgkin's lymphoma. Now Bill's words concerning his cancer,
- 10:37because he actually did the graduation speech at his online university, WGU, which
- 10:43I'm familiar with. Did you go to WGU? A in a panic?
- 10:48I got an accounting degree there? How's that working out for you the year?
- 10:54Or? Am I doing the taxes? I technically have an account degrees
- 11:00to along with a couple other degrees. Technically, no, you do have
- 11:03one not technically yes, I do have an accounting degree. I have a
- 11:07bachelor's degree in accounting. M. Well, you don't technically have a degree.
- 11:11I know I got it from WGU. It's a real university. Yes,
- 11:15I know. They sent me a diploma. It was a real university.
- 11:18Yeah, we're alumni together. It was it is still a university.
- 11:24It is. So he gave the well, WG wants to reach out to
- 11:28us about advertising opportunities. We're here for you. I'm like over here,
- 11:31like I don't even use your degree. I don't think I'm I'm trying to
- 11:35promote it and you're trying to downplay it. It was a great it's a
- 11:37great school. You get to do it at your own pace. You fate
- 11:41play a fat play A whoa, what's the Fredian slipt going on? There?
- 11:46You pay I know I've around a couple of pounds lately, but come
- 11:50on, you pay a flat fee per six month semester, and so how
- 11:58many of her classes you can get done in that time. I'm so not
- 12:01to do my own horn. But I did the entire program, but beat,
- 12:05I did the entire accounting program in a year, no, six months.
- 12:11I paid for one semester. I mean, keep in mind, I
- 12:16did already have two other degrees, so I did have all the other like
- 12:20prerequisites in all those based courses. So I just had to take the core
- 12:24accounting degrees. And my other degrees are math and science based, so there
- 12:30was overlapping. I have an engineering degree, okay, and instead of doing
- 12:35your your day job, you just studied for your No. I did my
- 12:39day job anyways, and then at nighttime I would just focus on accounting and
- 12:43then I got it all done. But anyways, he gave the speech there,
- 12:48and his speech he had because he had cancer and he did all these
- 12:50things and everything there, so they had him do the graduation speech, and
- 12:56he said I have been knocked down, but I refused to be knocked out.
- 12:58Now. While he was waiting to be brought on for as a full
- 13:01time teacher, he continued to work at the school, and that's when he
- 13:05started working for the Census. For some first a side of extra money on
- 13:11the side for extra money, not a side of extra many well on the
- 13:16side for extra money. I have an engineering degree, not an English degree,
- 13:18Steward. Okay, guess you cannot read. I cannot sure. This
- 13:22required him to go door to door, as we've all, I don't know,
- 13:26I know the census. Ever. Have you ever spoke to the census.
- 13:31They came by trying to get me one time. They wanted to talk
- 13:33to me. They left a note on the door. They were very persistent.
- 13:37There was kind of well, they have the power of the government behind
- 13:39them. They feel. My grandpa did the census one year. She was
- 13:45a census worker. You know, I think my mom might have done the
- 13:46census back when we were struggling as kids. When we were kids, might
- 13:50have been one of those extra we did the pay. She did the paper
- 13:54route too. I still remember getting up The smell of a bulk newspapers still
- 14:01makes me nauseous. We would get in the car at like the crack of
- 14:05dawn, obviously, because you have to deliver the paper, you know,
- 14:07right after it it's printed to thee. So they would show. She would
- 14:11go pick up the paper, she would bring bring I would ride with her
- 14:16in the Actually I think maybe what happened was no, she was delivering papers,
- 14:20but also later on my brother signed up to do a paper out and
- 14:22then stop doing it, so then she I have to like do that too.
- 14:28But I still remember sleeping in the back seat of the car, not
- 14:31in a seatbelt or anything, because it was early four or five o'clock in
- 14:35the morning, and that's and I would sleep on newspapers back there because she
- 14:39she'd get them like in the they were flat and you had to roll them,
- 14:43and so they'd all be in the back of the car and I'd just
- 14:46go back to sleep, and I could still that smell of the newspaper,
- 14:48like bulk newspaper. I would take the newspapers to all the newspaper delivery people
- 14:56and drop them off at their houses. Okay, well you were dropping them
- 14:58off at my mom. She would deliver them individually. Yeah, she did.
- 15:03The we threw them out the window. I'd bring the bulk bulk ones
- 15:07to the people that delivered and drop them off to them. No, she
- 15:09would get them, roll them up with it, and then had the big
- 15:13bag of rubber bands. You had to roll them yourself. And then they'd
- 15:16all be in the back seat of the car. And then I would sleep
- 15:18in the back seat of the car while she drove around and tossed him out
- 15:20the window. That was like when everybody got a newspaper. You know,
- 15:26I think everybody got a newspaper. No, I don't think. I don't
- 15:28even know if anybody delivers newspapers anymore. No, I mean I think they
- 15:31do, because when you go to a hotel, there's like newspapers delivered outside,
- 15:37like the walls drop the bulk off. But I don't think newspaper delivery
- 15:41people are I've never seen a newspaper delivery person ever. I mean in the
- 15:50recent years, if you deliver newspapers, please let us know. Now,
- 15:54he told friends and family while he was doing the census job, he was
- 16:00concerned for his safety. Now, there was no mention of Bill having a
- 16:04wife, but he did adopt a two year old son when he was in
- 16:07his thirties. I have some opinions about this, but I'm not gonna say
- 16:14them. What I just have some opinions, I'm not going to say them.
- 16:18Stu. I've just watched too many boy Scout documentaries. I just don't
- 16:25crime shows. Yeah, I just things aren't comfortable for me. I'm not
- 16:30saying anything, and I'm not asking questions. I'm just here. You're not
- 16:36just asking questions like Jesse the body that I'm not just asking questions, asking
- 16:41any questions. On September twelfth, two thousand and nine, a family was
- 16:45visiting the Hoskins Cemetery where ancestors of theirs were buried. Hoskins is an old
- 16:52cemetery dating back about one hundred and twenty five years. It's buried deep in
- 16:56the Daniel Boone National Force. So if you're visiting this cemetery, you're going
- 17:03there on purpose. You're not really gonna stumble. I guess you could stumble
- 17:06across it, but you basically got to know where it's at to go see
- 17:11it. Yeah, you're not on a trip like we've been on trips and
- 17:14we're like, oh that's a cool cemetery and you pop in, you know,
- 17:17yeah, just to see. You're not gonna pop into this one now.
- 17:21The family is walking to the gravesites when they come upon a naked man
- 17:25hanging from his neck by a rope. They immediately called nine to one one.
- 17:30Police arrived just after dark to find the man hanging with his hands and
- 17:34feet bound. I like how you just casually read over that, Like that's
- 17:37not how shocking is that. You're just there with your family to see some
- 17:41like, Oh, oh, great great Grandpa Terry's buried here, let's go
- 17:47check it out. And there's a naked man hanging from Harry. It'd probably
- 17:49be like or Jedediah is hanging from or someone's hanging from a rope from a
- 17:56tree. That's crazy naked. I gotta get your kink ons ownho, Stuart,
- 18:02I don't think it's a kink thing. Oh. Police arrived just after
- 18:07dark to find the man hanging there with his hands and feet bound. He
- 18:10was only wearing his socks. His eyeglasses were taped to his head along with
- 18:15an id badge. He also had the letters fed Fed written across his chest
- 18:22with a black marker of some sort. He was not completely off the ground.
- 18:26His feet were dragging kind of touching the ground. Upon initial inspection,
- 18:32they saw blood coming from his ears and from his mouth, which was gagged.
- 18:36This led investigators to believe that he had not died from the hanging,
- 18:40but was possibly bludging to death. When checking the badge taped to his head,
- 18:45they found it was a US Census worker badge and it said his name
- 18:49was William Sparkman. They were quickly able to identify him as fifty one year
- 18:55old Bill Sparkman. And about forty yards from where Bill was foundated his vehicle,
- 19:00which was a red pickup truck. Like we said, where Bill was
- 19:04found was deep in eastern Kentucky in the Appalachian area. It is very isolated
- 19:10and had a history of illegal activity. This included moonshine production, and they
- 19:17said they distributed to large cities like Chicago and things like that. So these
- 19:21are yes, there are no main roads passing through, so it's just a
- 19:27sparsely populated area, making it the perfect place for a murder to occur,
- 19:33or to dispose of a body or do something weird like hanging somebody in right,
- 19:37fed on their chest, tap to their face. Yeah, So it's
- 19:41just it's that kind of place and if someone probably saw you doing it out
- 19:45there, that lived out there. They wouldn't ask any questions and be like
- 19:48you do you don't go next to my dead bodies that I have in the
- 19:52basement. It's all good now. With the words fed written across his chest.
- 19:59This escal the investigation as it appeared that maybe Bill was targeted due to
- 20:03his work for the federal government. They immediately start to wonder if Bill had
- 20:08knocked on, you know, someone's door who was part of something illegal,
- 20:12and he was killed for it because being out there again, these people are
- 20:18not gonna take too kind law enforcement federal governments. Yeah, or well not
- 20:23even just they just want to be left alone. They're out there for a
- 20:26reason. I'm not gonna kill you if I ain't doing nothing wrong. You
- 20:30might. There's people that might. Oh there's people that do. They're untrusting
- 20:34of the government's due as they should be. You think, oh, yeah,
- 20:38we should not. We're going to got a knock at the door.
- 20:41Oh yeah, look like that meme that little kid sitting there. They're all
- 20:47wild. You don't have hair, I said, the meme of the little
- 20:52baby that I had said, you've been posting anti government stuff all day.
- 20:57And there's a knock at the door, and the little kids like, oh,
- 21:00yeah, it's a meme. I know you just you don't have any
- 21:03hair. Yeah, I do spots, it's not growing in the right areas,
- 21:11all right. So you know they're thinking like maybe he knocked on someone's
- 21:15door doing his census work, and they someone you know, did not like
- 21:19that. Joe dirt. Now. The area also had a massive increase in
- 21:26illegal drug activity over the last decade, and this caused more federal activity in
- 21:30the area, which again was not taken to very well. The people and
- 21:33living in those parts were untrusting of the government and were not shy about pulling
- 21:37a gun on a stranger showing up at their house, especially if it's some
- 21:41sort of government personnel. The first theories were that someone was trying to send
- 21:45a message to the government government about entering their territory. They like, don't
- 21:49count me and the census popping, don't count me, and the census come
- 21:53across my meth lab. And so for people that don't know that, maybe
- 21:57we do have people that live in other countries. The census is done every
- 22:02ten years, so the government sends out census workers and they physically go and
- 22:07knock on your door and they ask you a bunch of questions to try to
- 22:10drop off a question there and try and come back and get it. Yeah,
- 22:14it's the mail it out and if you don't send it back then they're
- 22:15knocking on it. That's what happened to me. I think they mailed me
- 22:18one. I never filled it out, and they were knocking on my door
- 22:21or leaving notes on my door. Yeah, I think, yeah, I
- 22:22think now, I'm sure probably by the next time they do the census,
- 22:26it'll be like sent you know, because they have access to your phone with
- 22:30sending out like Amber alerts and things like that, they probably have something there's
- 22:33like you can't use this iPhone until you fill out the census. Oh,
- 22:37they're going to lock you down digitally, shut off your social media. Probably
- 22:41you can't listen to bless this mess until you feel out your senses. Yeah.
- 22:44Fine, I don't want to hear them people anyway. Fine, they
- 22:47lost me with the little juice. It's lost time they suck anyway. As
- 22:56you can imagine, the shocking facts of this made it go straight to the
- 22:59now news. We got a federal worker found naked, hung and the word
- 23:04fed written across his chest. There was a frenzy around the case. However,
- 23:08upon closer examination of the body, there was no signs of struggle on
- 23:14Bill. There were no defensive wounds on his arms or where he had struggled,
- 23:18not to be taped up. When looking at the crime scene, they
- 23:22searched a three hundred foot radius and found no other tire tracks or footprints,
- 23:26indicating that another vehicle or person was there and drove off. When processing the
- 23:33truck, they found no other evidence of anyone else being in the vehicle,
- 23:37no fingerprints, and they found no blood or hairs. When processing the duct
- 23:41tape, they found no one else's skin, cells or hairs stuck to the
- 23:45tape, which someone could have been. Someone could have been wearing gloves,
- 23:49some latex gloves. I don't understand. Okay, So they're searching the area
- 23:53for the tire trucks and the footprints. I guess it was a wooded area
- 23:56though, so it'd be very difficult to find footprints, I would say,
- 24:02or even tire tracks. It was not like a dirt area. It was
- 24:06in a forest. Depends on how moist it is well, and also how
- 24:08long he'd been there. I think when they figured it out he had been
- 24:12there. I think it was he was killed on the ninth and they found
- 24:17him on the twelfth, I believe, so he'd been there three days,
- 24:21so the wind and weather could have rustled up the lead. I don't know
- 24:23how much it rains in Kentucky, never been, but in Louisiana in September
- 24:30it's all it's all over. It's rained once an afternoon a lot of times,
- 24:34and then like here, it's so dry it would have been blown away
- 24:40five minutes. There's very few I feel like there's very few places where you're
- 24:44gonna get those solid footprints and tire tracks more likely someplace in tire tracks in
- 24:49Louisiana for sure. All Right, So they looked into Bill's life and only
- 24:55found one relationship that seemed rocky, and that was his relationship with his nineteen
- 25:00year old adopted son, Josh. Josh had been in trouble with the law
- 25:04off and on, and he hadn't always got along with Bill, his adopted
- 25:08dad. I think the year before he might have gotten in trouble for some
- 25:12sort of illegal gun charge. So just a troubled kid, troubled ute.
- 25:19Yes, Bill's was said to be all about Josh, just you know,
- 25:25completely interested in his life, wanted to be around him, be involved and
- 25:29everything. However, that feeling was not mutual. Josh was very off standish.
- 25:36Is that a word? Almost? Almost? How many grades are you
- 25:41saying that I got three? But I've got I can get math? Shoot
- 25:45maths real well? I do math, real good, real goodly. So
- 25:52Bill said, he so this feeling wasn't mutual. So definitely, it's like
- 25:56I'm definitely, You're definitely or what is the thing. It's like, I'm
- 26:03definitely your best friend. But the feeling is not returned. So they need
- 26:11to talk to Josh obviously, but they are unable to track him down.
- 26:15Finally, a few days after Bill was discovered, Josh walks into the police
- 26:18station to talk to them. He tells them that he did not kill his
- 26:22father and that he did not know about the life insurance policy until after his
- 26:30father had died, so he is coming out saying there might have been a
- 26:36life insurance policy now during his interview, he was very cold and stand offish.
- 26:41During the interview, which police took note of, Josh produced a note
- 26:45while he was at the police station. He had been rummaging around in his
- 26:48father's items and found a note that started with and I quote. If you
- 26:52are reading this and you are snooping around, put it back with an exclamation
- 26:57point. If something has happened to me, then you may continue. This
- 27:03letter had all the information he would need in the event of Bill's death,
- 27:07including a life insurance policy with Josh set to receive three hundred thousand dollars along
- 27:12with another person named Lao loll Adams. Not Lao, it's Lowell. It's
- 27:18just spelled funny. Anyways, Lowell was set to get three hundred thousand dollars
- 27:25each, so both of them were going to get so six hundred thousand dollars
- 27:26total. Now, this name was new to police, you know that it
- 27:32hadn't came up before. Josh claimed to know nothing of the insurance policy prior
- 27:36to finding that note after his father's death, but police found a new reason
- 27:40to be suspicious of him and another person to investigate, because now they have
- 27:44motive, because that's quite a bit of money, especially if you're nineteen years
- 27:48old, your run around getting picked up on gun charges. You know,
- 27:49that's nice little chunkage. Yeah, that's gonna that could if you invested it
- 27:56properly, could change your life, but I mean, he I wouldn't do
- 28:00the best things with it. Meanwhile, the autopsy came back showing that Bill
- 28:03had died from asphyxiation, not bludgeoning. They also found something else that was
- 28:11a little odd. Bill's hyoid bone was broken as to be expective because as
- 28:18we know, when the hyoid bone is usually broken during like a strangulation or
- 28:22something like that. And I learned that it's not actually attached to any other
- 28:26bones. It's just floating around out there on It's their only bone in your
- 28:30body that's not attached to other bones. So it's just floating around there on
- 28:34the muscles right here. Just do you can't see. I'm pointing to my
- 28:41neck, all right, and you can't see because this is an audio situation.
- 28:48So anyway, so his hyoid bone was broken, and like I said,
- 28:52that was they were completely expecting that. But it also showed two other
- 28:56fracture points that were old and healing. Now this perplects the medical examiner,
- 29:02as Bill had no history in his medical file as to why this hywood bone
- 29:06would have been broken and then healed. So it was broken in two places
- 29:10that were clearly being like old wounds. Police spoke to Lowell Adams, and
- 29:15he told police that he was a friend of both Josh and Bill, but
- 29:19he had a fallen out with Josh. He had remained friends with Bill,
- 29:25and he also told police that Bill had asked him to accompany him being Bill
- 29:30on some of his trips for the Census, because he was afraid to go
- 29:34alone. Yeah, and I will say it appeared that Lowell was closer to
- 29:40Josh's age than Bill's. He was a younger guy. Lowell also said he
- 29:45did accompany Bill. Lowell claimed to know nothing of the insurance policy or about
- 29:51the death of Bill. He agreed to take a polygraph test, but when
- 29:56he showed up on the day of the test, he changed his story completely.
- 30:00I'll just say that Bill Bill paid Lowell to go with him on his
- 30:04senses stuff because he was scared, but I don't think them since his workers
- 30:08were making that much money, so that had to take quite a bit out
- 30:12of his Census paycheck. Yes, he told police that Bill told him one
- 30:18time that he wanted to kill himself but wanted it to look like a murder,
- 30:23and he asked Lowell to help him, but Lowell told police he refused
- 30:29to do that. Lowell said he tried to talk Bill out of it,
- 30:33and he told him that Bill had been practicing in his house on how to
- 30:37hang himself, just casually practicing. Just that's how you make it. You
- 30:42practice your friends, you practice your hanging. Lowell took the polygraph with his
- 30:48news story and he passed. When investigators went to the home, they found
- 30:52Marx and a rope on a beam that indicated that what Lowell was telling him
- 30:57was true. Investigators continue to look into things, are starting to not add
- 31:03ups to They're starting to look a little suspicious. Yes, so now they
- 31:08know that Bill has been talking about killing himself and making it look like it
- 31:15was a murder. He's been practicing his you know, killing himself. I
- 31:18guess that's a thing. I don't know anyway, So then they start looking
- 31:22at that writing on Bill's chest. So they bring in a forensic illustrator,
- 31:26which is a thing, and examining the writing on Bill's chest. She found
- 31:30that it was written starting from the bottom of the letters to the top based
- 31:34on the pulling of the ink from the felt tip marker. Maybe because what
- 31:44she was explaining like Okay, I don't think I needed a degree to figure
- 31:51that out. Or you think that's University Arizona material, So I think it's
- 31:59Arizona State as U. It's University of Arizona. I had a college class
- 32:05there. Anyways, Oh you did well. We see where that took us.
- 32:10It's the I think the Arizona schools i've heard are like party schools.
- 32:15I think they are like Florida schools. I didn't actually attend the campus.
- 32:21Yeah, they came to me, all right. So basically, when you
- 32:25write, writing is normally done from the top to the bottom. So therefore,
- 32:30when you write, you have a lighter pulling at the top, and
- 32:34then when you get to the bottom of the letter, it pulls much more
- 32:37because you're stopped for a second before you pick your pin up. Anyways,
- 32:42it did not take a rocket signed. It wasn't like heart. It wasn't
- 32:46like hard science to explain this. But anyways, but the point of it
- 32:52is that all the that this showed that the person was writing upside down when
- 32:55they were doing Although I practiced writing fed on my chest and I would have
- 33:00started from the top and gone to the bottom, because you knew that they'd
- 33:04have a forensic No, why would you do this? Everybody practiced writing fed
- 33:08on your chest in the proper way is if somebody was writing it on you
- 33:13so that they could read it. You'll see what I'm talking about. I
- 33:15still would have gone. But to properly do it, you need to be
- 33:21shirtless and use a sharpie to see if it actually works out that way.
- 33:24Yes, and you need to definitely do it all right, So yeah,
- 33:32take your shirts off, get out your felt tip, marker, sharpie,
- 33:42black ink right fed to us. It would Oh god, it's get late.
- 33:53I know I shouldn't let you drink. I did have a spicy margarita
- 34:00or two anyways, and now because I didn't expect to be up this late,
- 34:05like this is not good. So anyway, so they concluded that it
- 34:10was starting to look like maybe this was all pointing to a setup. A
- 34:15setup. What kind of setup? Now? Investigators believe that Bill Sparkman staged
- 34:22his own murder while committing suicide, that he wrote fed on his chest at
- 34:27home, which is why there was no marker found at the crime scene.
- 34:30He then drove out to the woods undressed and then placed the rope around his
- 34:37neck and then taped himself up as as as best he could, because it
- 34:43wasn't like the best tape job. They believe he also taped his glasses on
- 34:46his face since they would fall off and his hands would not be free and
- 34:51he would not be able to see. Now, they believe his wait what,
- 34:55I guess he wanted to just like I don't know, the world go
- 35:00dark, I guess, and been good focus or something. I guess they
- 35:06he I guess, well, because he's trying to do all this stuff and
- 35:07he probably was like looking down to like tape up stuff, and his glasses
- 35:12kept falling off, so he just taped him to his head like because he
- 35:15still needed to tape his hands and feet and stuff like that. I don't
- 35:20know why he kept the socks on though, that's such a that's such a
- 35:24weird thing to do. It's probably because, you know what, he's hardcore.
- 35:29He's like, fucking little this is full circle stoke, Little Jim rolls.
- 35:32He's like, no, no, no, no, no, nobody
- 35:36wants to find with my socks off. Nobody wants to see that. So
- 35:40anyway, so he does all this stages his murder, and they believe his
- 35:44motive was that he was afraid his cancer was gonna come back, and he
- 35:46did not want to die a painful death, so he wanted to end it
- 35:50on his own terms. But if he committed suicide, his family and friends
- 35:53would not receive any death benefits, so he staged it. Please say say
- 35:58the autopsy revealed that his cancer had not come back. Yeah. His family
- 36:05never argued the police's conclusion. They never said, I don't think that he
- 36:09did this, so I think they kind of knew he was. Well.
- 36:14I think there's I guess he got the wrong insurance or he didn't have it
- 36:17long enough. I think there's insurance that if you have it long enough and
- 36:21you do commit suicide, it will pay out. Really, but you got
- 36:24to have it, like for a couple of years or something. I don't
- 36:27know, but he had a pretty large insurance policy for his salary as a
- 36:31teacher, though. I just don't understand where he came with all this money.
- 36:36He was a teacher's assistant in a small town in Kentucky, stew I
- 36:39think he said teacher. Now he's a teacher's assistant. Yes, I said
- 36:43he was a teacher assistant. He was waiting for you. No, No,
- 36:47he was a teacher's assistant, and he was waiting. He got his
- 36:51degree from WGU with me, and he was waiting to be promoted to teacher.
- 36:58But he was a teacher's assistant. Where did all the money come from?
- 37:02How was he able to afford two three hundred thousand dollars insurance policies?
- 37:07Life insurance? Life insurance is not cheap, it's independent. A fifty one
- 37:13year old with cancers too, could have been like three hundred dollars a month.
- 37:17Possibly. Yeh, that's a love for teachers assistant. I'm just asking
- 37:22questions. Okay, Oh now we're back to Jesse at the back. Now
- 37:27I'm asking questions anyway, So that's our case. It was quite the term
- 37:31for me because I didn't realize I thought it was. I was like,
- 37:35man, this case is crazy. The guy had fed written across his chest,
- 37:38He's naked hanging in a cemetery, like this is crazy plot twist.
- 37:43Yeah, And so that was kind of shocking to me to find out that
- 37:46it was actually a suicideaged So all right, well we're getting canceled. So
- 37:55do you want to do what y'all need? Jesus? Would you like the
- 37:59day one or would you like to mumble on about something else. Do you
- 38:02have it ready to go? I do. I always have it ready to
- 38:06go. Okay, I don't have it ready to go. Stewart, hang
- 38:14on, hang on. It was just here. It was just here.
- 38:19Okay, I'm ready whenever you're ready. Talking to your microphone, you're talking
- 38:23to my microphone. I'm not talking to your microphone. Man uses funnel to
- 38:30pour margarita down woman's butt? Was it spicy margarita? I like a spicy
- 38:38margarita? Yes, you do what? Yeah? Everybody can hear you drink
- 38:45spicy margarita too. Florida or not Florida? Not Florida at a Georgia restaurant
- 38:57Florida adjacent it's basically Florida. Wow. Well, I don't know. I
- 39:01don't know where a Waycross, Mexican restaurant is. We're coming to us from
- 39:06a place called the Patch. By Megan Verheist July twelfth, twenty twenty four.
- 39:15The couple was arrested after the video of the X rated stunt at a
- 39:20Way Cross, Mexican restaurant went viral. According to multiple reports, a man
- 39:24and a woman are facing charges after reports said the man attempted to use a
- 39:28funnel to pour a margarita down the woman's butt. How was that X rated
- 39:34because she had to pull her pants down? I know, but still let
- 39:37me get there. Let me get there. That's what I usually tell you.
- 39:42Let me get there. As they dined at a Mexican restaurant in South
- 39:46Georgia. Joy Boy Yette and Mary Sweat Sweet were arrested this week for misdemeanor
- 39:53public indecency after video of their X rated stunt went viral on social media.
- 40:00Joy Boyyette, Joe Boyett a man and a woman, and all of a
- 40:07sudden it was a lesbian couple. My witmen now fell on the lady.
- 40:13The arrest came after Sweat called the police to complain about the video being leaked
- 40:17online. The report said, how are you gonna commit a crime then call
- 40:23in and say, hey, yeah, my crime has been leaked online and
- 40:27I'm upset about it. There's your first mistake. The incident took place three
- 40:34months ago inside a Rodeo, Mexican restaurant and waycross. Screen grabs of the
- 40:37explicit Explicit Act published by multiple outlets, including in The New York Post,
- 40:44showed a woman on all fours inside a restaurant booth as a man attempted to
- 40:50use a funnel to pour a drink down her rear end. Hey, drunk
- 40:53people do dumb shit. Was he trying to drink it from the other side?
- 40:58I don't know what? Then? Can I finish? No? And
- 41:01we might find out he didn't get to finish it didn't appear. When that
- 41:07didn't work, he abandoned the funnel and poured it directly from a glass into
- 41:10her butt. Wake Cross police told the TV station. The boy yet identified
- 41:16himself as the man in the video, and a Facebook post he posted,
- 41:22quote, this may be a good time to start selling content. Hit me
- 41:27up for cash app he reportedly posted, he's trying to get some hawk ta
- 41:31fame. Yeah, pretty much. He turned himself in on Monday, and
- 41:36Sweat turned herself in a day later. Restaurant staff released a letter to patrons
- 41:40on social media, slam in the act. We want to make it clear
- 41:44that such behavior is completely unacceptable and does not reflect our values and mission to
- 41:50provide family friendly dining. Did they really have to put a letter out?
- 41:54I don't think that's acceptable behavior anywhere unless it's in your own home and you're
- 41:59into that or whatever. I mean, I think it's fine, that's fine
- 42:01activity down at the water Parker home, but just not in their restaurant.
- 42:06Yes, So they go on to say, we continue blah blah, maintaining
- 42:08high standards, YadA YadA in the story. So, mister Boyett and miss
- 42:14Sweat, not even if you're going to commit to something like that, you
- 42:19at least need to be committed to each other. Somebody had to go mop
- 42:22that up somewhere. I just don't understand the purpose of it. I don't
- 42:28either. I mean, I don't why would she get on all fours and
- 42:30except that, all I was thinking is maybe he was laying underneath her,
- 42:32and I don't know if he was trying to actually get it into the button.
- 42:38God. Well, people say that if you know, put alcohol in
- 42:44that and it will get you drunk faster because it'll absorb through your intestines really
- 42:49quick and you'll get really dry. But okay, you can try that,
- 42:52but just not at the Mexican restaurant. We try to eat our chips and
- 42:54walk with our family, have a little margarita. We did go to a
- 42:59Mexican restaurant through their day. Nobody was on all fours, poor and Margrete,
- 43:02not that I'm aware of. I've never experienced it. And I sat
- 43:06next to a man masturbating on the plane coming from Australia. I mean,
- 43:10I've seen some things, but I've never seen I've never seen that. Anyways,
- 43:19I've told that story before. Yes, well somebody might be listening new
- 43:22tonight. Well they can just and I know that Hans and Franz were on
- 43:29their guard. It was German anyways. All right, well that's our case
- 43:34for this week, and check out the Patreon. I don't know about writing
- 43:40our review after this again, five stars. You can say the negative stuff
- 43:45in the comments. I don't care what you say. Someone actually did that.
- 43:51I don't think they did it because we said it. But they did
- 43:53put a five star and then told us how terrible we were. No,
- 43:58which is all we're asking. No, they didn't tell us how terrible we
- 44:00were, Well, they did kind of. I think they accidentally hit the
- 44:05five stars. Did the one star? Yeah, well we've had good reviews
- 44:07and I accidentally hit the three star before. It's like, what the hell
- 44:10are you people doing? A fat thumb their their star review? Now,
- 44:15the thing that I got out of this review. I'm gonna pull it up
- 44:19live on the air. Oh God, what does it saying? It says
- 44:24disappointing, misuse of talent. Oh so we have talent, So we have
- 44:30talent. Five stars. Sassiness is humorous and entertaining. Condescension, disrespect,
- 44:39and utter rudeness are not so much potential. But I cannot listen to the
- 44:45verbal spousal mistreatment. I think that's a reference to me, you to me.
- 44:50That comes from Route three March thirty twenty. But she did give us
- 44:52five stars. She or it's a she Route three. Okay, No man
- 44:59is getting on here and right miss as sass is enough. The sass is
- 45:05is right, but the spousal abuse is too much. That was probably referenced
- 45:09me. But that means I have talent, so you are me? Yeah?
- 45:15All right, So check out our Patreon writer review five stars. Say
