- 2:58Speaker 2: We'll try to overlap them.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm not going to be here next week because it's Chris.
- 3:02Speaker 3: But the week after.
- 3:02Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Okay, you know what I mean.
- 3:04Speaker 1: But we'll do our very best. So go to speak
- 3:06Speaker 1: pipe and sound off raccoons.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 3:10Speaker 1: All right, let's get to the first call? Who called in?
- 3:13Speaker 1: Who called Mommy?
- 3:14Speaker 2: First one we have is from Tina Bee, who I
- 3:16Speaker 2: think has called before.
- 3:17Speaker 1: She is definitely I love her name. I love Tina Bee.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Reminds me of like some of those nineties music, Yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 1: the bangers that I used to dance to in the nineties.
- 3:26Speaker 1: About Tina Bee, I love it.
- 3:28Speaker 2: It's so great.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Hello, this is Tina Bee from the Texas Stumpster and
- 3:33Speaker 4: I just I just have to come on and tell
- 3:35Speaker 4: you guys. I just watch episode thirteen, give Up the Ghost,
- 3:40Speaker 4: and you know what, I am the same age as
- 3:44Speaker 4: Mary in this episode. And here's my problem. I feel
- 3:48Speaker 4: like I just lost forty two minutes of my life
- 3:52Speaker 4: watching this.
- 3:53Speaker 5: Stupid shit with wedding cakes, Like.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Are you kidding me?
- 3:58Speaker 4: I don't care about wedding cakes and I really don't
- 4:01Speaker 4: care about her wedding dress.
- 4:03Speaker 3: So boring.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I can't get that time back.
- 4:06Speaker 6: You know, the clock is ticking.
- 4:08Speaker 4: I can't get that time back.
- 4:09Speaker 1: What do you guys think?
- 4:11Speaker 2: I agree?
- 4:11Speaker 1: I couldn't agree.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Literally, we screamed about it every week.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Every week, we're shouting into the void. We're sending up
- 4:18Speaker 1: our lamentation. God is there is If there is a God, Yeah,
- 4:23Speaker 1: why God? Are you allowing this to happen?
- 4:26Speaker 7: It's too much?
- 4:27Speaker 2: And even with this week's episode with the freaking tacos
- 4:30Speaker 2: and the spilling of the juice.
- 4:32Speaker 1: On the with their picture on it, the.
- 4:37Speaker 8: Fruit.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Sorry, I nodded off there for a second because it's
- 4:41Speaker 1: so far.
- 4:42Speaker 2: It is so so bar Every episode they give us
- 4:47Speaker 2: like little morsels, like just a little to hold us over,
- 4:50Speaker 2: but the rest of it is just bullshit, and we
- 4:52Speaker 2: keep watching.
- 4:53Speaker 1: And they do it at the front load it. It's
- 4:55Speaker 1: at the top of the episode, so we have to
- 4:57Speaker 1: like slog and wait way through to the fucking Christine content.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Christine's laughing about something David and her are making out.
- 5:07Speaker 1: It's like just to get to like the sit down
- 5:10Speaker 1: with Mary and those random friends of hers to talk
- 5:13Speaker 1: shit about Cody. That's what we want to talk about.
- 5:15Speaker 2: A great Yeah, we agree with you, Tina B.
- 5:18Speaker 1: One hundred percent. Yeah, no question about it, no question,
- 5:21Speaker 1: no dissenting opinions on this Supreme Court. All right. Next
- 5:27Speaker 1: time we have is from Alie.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Okay, hi, Ali, Hey, It's Ali from Fort Worth, Texas.
- 5:34Speaker 5: I have potentially a hot take on the last episode
- 5:38Speaker 5: of Sister Wives, and I'm curious for your guys' thoughts
- 5:40Speaker 5: on it. I actually really enjoyed the conversation that Robin
- 5:45Speaker 5: had with her two daughters about church. Some of the
- 5:49Speaker 5: other podcasters I listened to hated this conversation. They hated
- 5:54Speaker 5: that the girls were talking to Robin about this. They
- 5:56Speaker 5: thought that the girls were asking Robin for permission to
- 5:59Speaker 5: go to church. I am not a Robin sympathizer by
- 6:02Speaker 5: any means, but I actually found this conversation to be
- 6:05Speaker 5: really intriguing. It must be kind of difficult to go
- 6:10Speaker 5: to your mom and say, I know, we grew up polygamists.
- 6:13Speaker 5: I don't really know if I want to be polygamists,
- 6:15Speaker 5: I miss church. I want to try out new churches.
- 6:18Speaker 5: I thought Robin handled the conversation well, and I also
- 6:23Speaker 5: don't blame her when her daughter said, like, I want
- 6:25Speaker 5: to find a boyfriend, you know, Robin said, Okay, go
- 6:28Speaker 5: to church for the spiritual aspect of it. If you
- 6:31Speaker 5: happen to find a boyfriend, great, but that's not the
- 6:33Speaker 5: reason to go to church. Like, I didn't disagree with
- 6:36Speaker 5: anything that Robin said. I can't believe I'm saying this,
- 6:40Speaker 5: and I can't believe I'm sticking up for her right now.
- 6:43Speaker 5: But I'm really curious you guys' thoughts on this because
- 6:46Speaker 5: to me, it was actually the most interesting scene from
- 6:49Speaker 5: Robin probably in like the last two years.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Thanks definitely a hot take. Yeah, I mean, in theory,
- 6:57Speaker 2: it would have been an interesting conversation if like rob
- 7:00Speaker 2: and was genuine and if the scene wasn't like superscripted.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I mean, Robin was saying some like truthful things that
- 7:06Speaker 2: were cool, like yeah, like we don't care if you're polygamous,
- 7:08Speaker 2: it's fine, and like I want you guys to have
- 7:11Speaker 2: a good relationship with God, like that's nice. In theory,
- 7:14Speaker 2: if Robin wasn't a goblin.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Yeah, if this was an actual, real conversation, And let
- 7:22Speaker 1: me just say, they are capable of having these conversations
- 7:26Speaker 1: in earlier seasons. For example, when we met all those
- 7:29Speaker 1: kids who escaped polygamy, we had some real conversations about
- 7:33Speaker 1: those kids' lives and the Browns' perception of that, Like,
- 7:38Speaker 1: these were interesting conversations. So I know that they're capable
- 7:40Speaker 1: of not having to be totally scripted. But that, to me,
- 7:44Speaker 1: was discussed previously. Those girls, they're not kids, those adult
- 7:49Speaker 1: girls were told what to say, what to ask, Robin
- 7:54Speaker 1: practiced how she was going to answer, and so it
- 7:58Speaker 1: just rang as so hot to me and not real
- 8:02Speaker 1: at all, And then they build upon it in the
- 8:04Speaker 1: latest episode. Now we got to go out on a
- 8:06Speaker 1: date and continue this conversation, which is a fake conversation
- 8:10Speaker 1: about church and whatnot. And it's just like God, when
- 8:13Speaker 1: you could be talking about real things. But let's just say, Beatrice,
- 8:18Speaker 1: let's just say this was a real conversation. If this
- 8:22Speaker 1: were a real conversation, I would be so deeply concerned
- 8:27Speaker 1: about the mental health of those young women because why,
- 8:32Speaker 1: at the age of I don't know, twenty three, twenty four,
- 8:34Speaker 1: twenty twenty one. Do you feel the need to ask
- 8:38Speaker 1: your mommy whether you can go and find a boy
- 8:40Speaker 1: to date, and or ask your mommy whether you can
- 8:44Speaker 1: go to church? Like I don't know. But when I
- 8:47Speaker 1: was eighteen years old, I was married, honey. And that's
- 8:50Speaker 1: not to say that that was a good idea. It
- 8:52Speaker 1: wasn't a good idea. Yet I was doing adult things.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I was out of the house, I was getting jobs,
- 8:59Speaker 1: I was in the workforce, I was meeting people. I
- 9:02Speaker 1: was out there living my life. And that's what concerns
- 9:05Speaker 1: me for Aurora and Brianna is that they seem so
- 9:09Speaker 1: very sheltered, so very childlike at their age. I just
- 9:14Speaker 1: remember you at that age, for example, like you had
- 9:17Speaker 1: your shitstn't it together? You were out of college. Yeah,
- 9:20Speaker 1: you were in your own apartment, you were gainfully employed,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you were thinking about what you wanted for your future.
- 9:26Speaker 1: You were making money, money moves, you were moving, you
- 9:28Speaker 1: were reloking like you were doing shit. Not all of
- 9:31Speaker 1: it was the best thing to do, but that's how
- 9:34Speaker 1: you live and you learn. And these girls don't seem
- 9:38Speaker 1: to be having the opportunity to do that right.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Like they're still stuck at home, and I like, you know, again,
- 9:43Speaker 2: like in theory, like if Robin was like an actual supportive,
- 9:46Speaker 2: loving parent, Like if her kids just wanted to be
- 9:48Speaker 2: at home because they love being at home, and like
- 9:51Speaker 2: they have a good relationship with their mom and they
- 9:53Speaker 2: can have these kinds of conversations with the with her,
- 9:55Speaker 2: that's a different story, but like the way it comes off,
- 9:58Speaker 2: even if it was a genuine conversation, does come off
- 10:01Speaker 2: like they're asking for permission and asking for her final
- 10:05Speaker 2: say on what they're going to do with their adult lives.
- 10:07Speaker 2: And that's weird. It's really fucking weird, right, Like just
- 10:10Speaker 2: go to church, just go fuck around, like go and
- 10:13Speaker 2: have boyfriends. Like why do you have to ask your mom?
- 10:15Speaker 2: Why do you have to even talk to her about it?
- 10:18Speaker 2: I mean I was dating people and I wasn't dull
- 10:21Speaker 2: my mom hunt.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Well, And can I ask you a question like when
- 10:23Speaker 1: you're that age, say you're twenty two, twenty three, aren't
- 10:26Speaker 1: you starting to see your parents a little bit more
- 10:28Speaker 1: clearly for the broken people that they are. Yeah, Like
- 10:33Speaker 1: and Cody and Robin are broken people for sure, And
- 10:36Speaker 1: those girls are in a broken system and a broken
- 10:38Speaker 1: family and so at that age. For me, maybe it's
- 10:42Speaker 1: because I wasn't proximate. Maybe it's because I was out
- 10:43Speaker 1: of the house, but I was seeing my dad pretty clearly,
- 10:46Speaker 1: and I was seeing my mom pretty clearly. Now I
- 10:49Speaker 1: wasn't feeling empowered enough to maybe confront them. But that's
- 10:53Speaker 1: why I moved out of the house so I didn't
- 10:54Speaker 1: have to live with them. And it just feels to
- 10:57Speaker 1: me like Aurora and Brianna don't even see their parents
- 11:01Speaker 1: for the awful people that we all believe that they are.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I was gonna say, it's definitely because they're
- 11:07Speaker 2: still in the house, Like, so they're under the sphere
- 11:09Speaker 2: of influence of Robin and Cody, so like they don't
- 11:12Speaker 2: have a clear perspective on anything. They only have Cody
- 11:16Speaker 2: and Robin's perspectives. If they moved out and started talking
- 11:19Speaker 2: to some of the other Brown siblings and started getting
- 11:22Speaker 2: other perspectives from people and started like thinking for themselves,
- 11:26Speaker 2: then they could have the potential to see their parents
- 11:28Speaker 2: for who they are. But I don't think they can
- 11:31Speaker 2: when they're still stuck in the house and they're still
- 11:33Speaker 2: calling Mommy and Daddy and like completely dependent on them
- 11:37Speaker 2: and asking them for permission to go to church, you know.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Okay, So when you were twenty two and twenty three,
- 11:42Speaker 1: imagine yourself still living with your mom. Do you think
- 11:45Speaker 1: that you still would have not been able to see
- 11:47Speaker 1: her clearly?
- 11:47Speaker 2: Oh?
- 11:48Speaker 8: For sure?
- 11:48Speaker 1: Do you think with you think you would have been
- 11:50Speaker 1: still stuck?
- 11:51Speaker 8: Oh?
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah, Oh I mean I didn't. I didn't even see
- 11:54Speaker 2: my family clearly until I got with your daughter. And
- 11:57Speaker 2: it took a lot of time of like her talking
- 11:59Speaker 2: to me about it and then her telling me, hey,
- 12:01Speaker 2: you should probably go to therapy, like you should probably
- 12:04Speaker 2: move out because it's probably not a good situation. And
- 12:07Speaker 2: then it took me years after that to be like, oh,
- 12:10Speaker 2: that's what I lived in because you don't have any
- 12:13Speaker 2: other frame of reference, like, especially when you're young like you.
- 12:16Speaker 2: That's the whole point of like going to college and
- 12:19Speaker 2: like moving out is like to figure your own way,
- 12:22Speaker 2: like develop your frontal globe, you know, like and learn
- 12:25Speaker 2: to think for yourself and look at everything like, oh
- 12:29Speaker 2: that was childhood, that was this blah blah blah. Those
- 12:32Speaker 2: girls don't have that. They're still at home, like they're
- 12:34Speaker 2: still influenced by Cody and Robin. So there's no way
- 12:37Speaker 2: they see the situation like us.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Right. So, in conclusion, Ali, I think that in theory,
- 12:45Speaker 1: that would be a great conversation, Yeah, to watch and
- 12:49Speaker 1: to digest if it were even remotely real. But I
- 12:53Speaker 1: honestly feel like Cody and Robin are tap dancing for
- 12:56Speaker 1: their lives. They're trying to create content that they think
- 12:59Speaker 1: we want to see. They've been told, probably that they
- 13:02Speaker 1: need to let the cameras in the house more. They've
- 13:04Speaker 1: been told, as evidenced in this latest episode, episode fourteen,
- 13:08Speaker 1: that they've got to get out of the house and
- 13:09Speaker 1: film some scenes like everybody else has to film. You
- 13:12Speaker 1: guys got to do it too if you want to
- 13:13Speaker 1: continue to be on this program. So this is their
- 13:16Speaker 1: attempt to do that and deliver us some content that
- 13:19Speaker 1: they think is going to be interesting. It's not, no,
- 13:21Speaker 1: it's we can see right through it. Just like your
- 13:23Speaker 1: fake argument in the snow outside of your house that
- 13:27Speaker 1: was fake. We can tell that it's fake.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Interesting. Take allie, thank you, Yes, you.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Do appreciate you call it?
- 13:34Speaker 3: Do you appreciate it? Yes?
- 13:35Speaker 1: All right.
- 13:36Speaker 2: This next one we have is kind of juicy. Well,
- 13:38Speaker 2: it's kind of juicy.
- 13:40Speaker 1: It's juicy.
- 13:42Speaker 2: It's an anonymous raccoon. It's about something that we are
- 13:46Speaker 2: covering on Patreon currently, is the.
- 13:48Speaker 1: One you told me about. Okay, So actually I don't
- 13:53Speaker 1: think we should leave this on the general pot or
- 13:56Speaker 1: on YouTube simply because it concerns some private information about
- 14:00Speaker 1: one of the characters and a Couple Therapy season four
- 14:04Speaker 1: that we we want it. So this is gonna be
- 14:06Speaker 1: just for patrons. We'll come back and talk to everybody
- 14:08Speaker 1: else in just a moment. All right, we are back
- 14:10Speaker 1: with the regular pod and back on YouTube.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Speak pipe guys, that last pipe was awesome.
- 14:16Speaker 1: And if you sent in the speak pipe about Couples
- 14:21Speaker 1: Therapy Season four and you're not on our Patreon, then
- 14:25Speaker 1: you're not going to hear our response to that, unfortunately.
- 14:29Speaker 1: But if you are on our Patreon, then you better
- 14:32Speaker 1: go to Patreon right now. Listen to it. We responded
- 14:34Speaker 1: to you, and we're just like we are Twitter paid bitch.

- 14:41Speaker 2: Couples Therapies. Would listen to the whole Please we geek.

- 14:46Speaker 1: So now if you want to hear the uncensored bits
- 14:48Speaker 1: of our pod, these things that we can't actually share
- 14:51Speaker 1: everybody else. You got to go to patreon dot com

- 14:56Speaker 2: Crim only five dollars on video and so on video.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Okay, uncensored stuff is on video and join us in
- 15:04Speaker 1: the dumpster. We have a lot of fun there. Thank
- 15:06Speaker 1: you for that call. Thank you all right.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Next next one we have is from Big by Dorothy Dorothy.
- 15:14Speaker 9: Hello, Raccoons. I'm calling from Salem, Oregon. My name is Dorothy,
- 15:18Speaker 9: and I wanted to let you know a couple of things.
- 15:22Speaker 9: The first thing is that I heard that season nineteen
- 15:26Speaker 9: was already in the can when Garrison died, and so
- 15:30Speaker 9: the Christine wedding stuff is stuff from the cutting room
- 15:35Speaker 9: floor from the wedding special, and they put it in
- 15:39Speaker 9: as filler as they took out Garrison's scenes because I'm
- 15:44Speaker 9: guessing that they were fighting with Cody and they, uh,
- 15:51Speaker 9: it looked really bad and they decided to take it out,
- 15:55Speaker 9: and so they had to, you know, supplement the season
- 16:00Speaker 9: with Christine's business. The other thing is I've heard confirmation
- 16:07Speaker 9: that Christine did get a boot job, and I heard
- 16:12Speaker 9: that it was confirmed. I don't know where, I don't
- 16:15Speaker 9: know how, but I thought those would be interesting tidbits
- 16:18Speaker 9: that you would like to know. I love your show,
- 16:22Speaker 9: Have a great day, take care, Merry Christmas.
- 16:27Speaker 1: For that wonderful.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Also, Christine got a boot job?
- 16:33Speaker 1: Oh my god? So before or after the wedding.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean her wedding dress ones. I
- 16:39Speaker 2: mean they looked pretty nice. Maybe she just got like
- 16:40Speaker 2: a lift. Maybe she didn't get like implants or anything.
- 16:43Speaker 2: She just got a little.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Yeah, just like you know what, good for you bring
- 16:47Speaker 1: the girls up a little high at her sexy life.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Now.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I love that look I've got. I had a boot job. Yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 1: I tell everybody you had a lot of plastic surgery.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I've had a ton of plasters and I would like
- 16:58Speaker 1: to crowdsource some more. Yes, you can talk about that
- 17:01Speaker 1: in twit facelift wanted me to facelift. I got some
- 17:03Speaker 1: things I gotta do. You want to get a BBL? No,
- 17:06Speaker 1: I don't. You're the one pushing the BBL on.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Me because I think it'd be so funny.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Sorry, I have a flat butt circa nineteen eighties, nineteen nineties.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I love me, I loved me for me.
- 17:17Speaker 3: You tell I want you to love me for me.
- 17:19Speaker 1: No, but the first plastic surgery I ever got was
- 17:21Speaker 1: my Booby's honey. Oh yeah, yes, oh wow.
- 17:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I believe in plastic surgery. I mean before it.
- 17:26Speaker 2: If it makes you feel better, if it's well appointed, yeah,
- 17:29Speaker 2: unless you're gonna be like Darciane Stacey it makes me like.
- 17:31Speaker 1: A monster, then absolutely. If it's tasteful, it's fantastic. Yeah,
- 17:35Speaker 1: I'm not about it anyways. So, besides Christine getting a
- 17:38Speaker 1: boop job, which is great, what was the previous thing about.
- 17:42Speaker 2: About season nineteen being in the can and that all
- 17:45Speaker 2: of the Christina David stuff is filler because they're using
- 17:49Speaker 2: that to fill in all of the Garrison stuff, Which
- 17:51Speaker 2: I'm like, if that's true, then damn there was a
- 17:53Speaker 2: lot of Garrison footage. But I'm like, you know, I'm
- 17:58Speaker 2: of two minds. I'm like, if the family wanted to,
- 18:00Speaker 2: I just not have that aired on season nineteen because
- 18:04Speaker 2: of the tragedy of his death. I get it, you know,
- 18:08Speaker 2: I respect it, But at the same time, I'm like,
- 18:11Speaker 2: I don't know if that's the right decision to just
- 18:13Speaker 2: kind of not acknowledge him and like edit him out
- 18:16Speaker 2: of the footage. Like I've been seeing people on Reddit say,
- 18:19Speaker 2: like at some of the parties like Savannah's graduation party
- 18:21Speaker 2: and stuff like that, like that Garrison was probably in
- 18:24Speaker 2: those scenes and they've just like cut out a lot
- 18:26Speaker 2: of the footage, And I'm like, that's sad.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Why would you ever do that. I don't get it.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Well, but here's my tinfoil hat conspiracy theory. If they
- 18:38Speaker 1: are removing footage of Garrison, especially if that footage contains
- 18:45Speaker 1: arguments and problems that Garrison is having with Cody, I
- 18:49Speaker 1: wonder if it's actually TLC that is mandating this. Oh,
- 18:54Speaker 1: because if we recall the night that Garrison passed, he
- 18:59Speaker 1: was texting with production and the feel in the vibe
- 19:04Speaker 1: of that was that he was taking them to task.
- 19:06Speaker 1: He's talking to them. It sounds like he had people
- 19:09Speaker 1: that he felt close enough too on the production stuff
- 19:11Speaker 1: that he could talk to well. He was talking about
- 19:13Speaker 1: like what a shitty situation this was. I don't know
- 19:16Speaker 1: if there was a little bit of an aspect of
- 19:18Speaker 1: blame toward production at that time. But if I'm TLC
- 19:21Speaker 1: and I'm just a capitalist, corporate, monstrous entity and I'm
- 19:27Speaker 1: trying to preserve liability. I might want to get rid
- 19:31Speaker 1: of all evidence that Garrison was unhappy or potentially leaning
- 19:35Speaker 1: on substances or being dysfunctional in any way if it
- 19:39Speaker 1: can be tied back and connected to his childhood, get
- 19:43Speaker 1: his exposure on TLC.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Right, because I think he had said something like to
- 19:48Speaker 2: the producers, like, I can't hate you guys for sharing
- 19:50Speaker 2: the good times, because like I miss those times. So
- 19:53Speaker 2: I wonder if he was like saying shit in his
- 19:55Speaker 2: interstitials and maybe they just didn't think it would lead
- 19:59Speaker 2: to his tragic death. I don't know, but like I
- 20:03Speaker 2: could see that, I could see it being mandated by TLC.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I could also see it being mandated by the family
- 20:07Speaker 2: by the family because they just don't want to have
- 20:09Speaker 2: any of that negativity surrounding it, like after it.
- 20:13Speaker 1: So we're just gonna go through an entire season, just
- 20:16Speaker 1: not talking a long season at that, and we're never
- 20:19Speaker 1: gonna see Garrison. And then what we've been told as
- 20:22Speaker 1: an audience is that they are going to address it
- 20:24Speaker 1: this season. So they're just gonna like have fifteen minutes
- 20:27Speaker 1: at the end of the last episode where they talk
- 20:29Speaker 1: about this is dedicated. This whole season is dedicated to
- 20:33Speaker 1: Garrison and give it like a date and then that's it. Like,
- 20:36Speaker 1: that's what I feel they're going to do. There's not
- 20:38Speaker 1: going to be any substantive, substantive conversation with Cody and
- 20:41Speaker 1: Janelle and the rest of the family about Garrison. There's
- 20:44Speaker 1: certainly not going to be any interview with Maddie asking
- 20:47Speaker 1: her how she feels about this, Right, there's not going
- 20:49Speaker 1: to be anything gritty, raw and real. It's just going
- 20:51Speaker 1: to be something trivial like that.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Well, I mean, they did address it at the very
- 20:56Speaker 2: beginning of the season with that one tiny little blurb
- 20:59Speaker 2: on episode one.
- 21:00Speaker 3: God, like, they can't.
- 21:01Speaker 1: They can't.
- 21:02Speaker 2: I mean, if that's all it is, it can't be.
- 21:04Speaker 2: That's not been fourteen episodes.
- 21:06Speaker 1: So tasteless and awful. If that was all that, it
- 21:09Speaker 1: was Jesus crackers.
- 21:10Speaker 2: And didn't I see something on Reddit that said this
- 21:12Speaker 2: season is going to be like twenty nine episodes or
- 21:15Speaker 2: some shit like that.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Rush your mouth, hush speaking cursed saying I don't to
- 21:20Speaker 1: do that. You're hexing.
- 21:22Speaker 6: Look, I don't want it to be that.
- 21:24Speaker 2: But I'm like, if this is a long ast season
- 21:26Speaker 2: like that, there's nothing. I mean, you gotta at least
- 21:28Speaker 2: talk about it in the tell all or something.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Stretching this season. Okay, keeping in mind season eighteen. So
- 21:33Speaker 1: last season was fourteen episodes, right, so we just hit fourteen.
- 21:37Speaker 1: We are continuing on, like, how do you stretch out
- 21:41Speaker 1: this season by inserting all of this bullshit with Christine?
- 21:45Speaker 1: I don't know this, Christine and David Footage don't and
- 21:48Speaker 1: these random friends of Mary that are essentially saying the
- 21:51Speaker 1: same thing over and over and over and over again, like, yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 1: Jesus patting it for all its worth for reals, it's
- 21:58Speaker 1: too much.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Agreed, But thank you for that interesting tip. Both of
- 22:03Speaker 2: those interesting tidbits, Dorothy, and Hi from Salem, Organ. I'm
- 22:07Speaker 2: from there, all right?
- 22:09Speaker 1: Is that where the witches are from?
- 22:10Speaker 2: No, Salem, Massatia different? Yeah, all right. Next one we
- 22:15Speaker 2: have is from Tony.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Tony, Hello raccoon from the Midwest here.
- 22:21Speaker 10: And I am listening to your recap of the episode
- 22:24Speaker 10: in which Robinson is down with Aura and Brihanna to
- 22:28Speaker 10: talk about joining a new church.
- 22:30Speaker 3: And I had a thought, and I want to get
- 22:31Speaker 3: your opinion.
- 22:32Speaker 10: Do we think that in five ten years, when these
- 22:36Speaker 10: two young women are married and having children of their
- 22:40Speaker 10: own obviously marrying likely very conservative men.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Do we think they're going to come back and say.
- 22:50Speaker 10: Horrible things about Cody and Robin kind of like the
- 22:54Speaker 10: Dugger girls, Like I think it's Jill and Jessa. Maybe
- 22:57Speaker 10: I don't remember, not like abuse and neglect. But once
- 23:04Speaker 10: they're removed from the situation long enough.
- 23:07Speaker 3: And have the ability to.
- 23:10Speaker 10: Reconnect with some of their siblings, hopefully right in an
- 23:13Speaker 10: ideal world, are they going to say, wow, like we
- 23:16Speaker 10: were lied to and we didn't They may have spoiled
- 23:20Speaker 10: us because we lived in the McMansion obviously, but like
- 23:25Speaker 10: we didn't get any money from that, and now they're
- 23:27Speaker 10: not supportive of us and.
- 23:29Speaker 3: All of the things.
- 23:29Speaker 10: Like do we think that there's still something in there
- 23:33Speaker 10: that's like redeemable in them?
- 23:35Speaker 3: Or are they going to be Mannie Robins?
- 23:38Speaker 10: And I hate to say that because I want to
- 23:41Speaker 10: see redemption in that.
- 23:43Speaker 3: But you know, anyway, just wondering your thoughts.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Here comes the fake psychic prediction. Yeah, I think Dayton's
- 23:50Speaker 1: already gone. I think Dayton sees through all of this.
- 23:54Speaker 1: I think he's a very intelligent person. I think there's
- 23:57Speaker 1: a reason he's living in the RV if that's the case.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Maybe there's also rumors that he's back in contact with
- 24:02Speaker 1: his father. David jessep right by the way, has been
- 24:04Speaker 1: diagnosed with I think leukemia or something of that nature.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I think Dayton's already on the way out. Of the
- 24:11Speaker 1: two remaining girls Jessup girls, Aurora is I think the
- 24:16Speaker 1: most likely to stay in lockstep with Robin. Brianna, on
- 24:22Speaker 1: the other hand, she's just got some weird, mean girl
- 24:26Speaker 1: tendencies a little bit. If anybody was gonna meet like
- 24:28Speaker 1: a tattooed, drug dealing Jesus loving dude, it's gonna be Brianna.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I just think there's something in her personality Brianna's that
- 24:39Speaker 1: is rebellious and she hasn't been able to express it yet,
- 24:43Speaker 1: but it's in there.
- 24:44Speaker 2: It is in there, But it's whether or not, like
- 24:46Speaker 2: she finds a good person. I think, like if she
- 24:48Speaker 2: finds like a healthy relationship where they like go over
- 24:52Speaker 2: to the house and they see what's happening and they
- 24:54Speaker 2: see the dynamic between these two fucking narcs and all
- 24:57Speaker 2: the other children, and like if they've seen the show,
- 25:00Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like they've seen like what's
- 25:02Speaker 2: happened and see Cody and Robin for who they are,
- 25:06Speaker 2: and they're able to tell the girls this and be like, Yo,
- 25:10Speaker 2: your parents are fucked, Like you should probably move out
- 25:13Speaker 2: and maybe you'll be able to see the situation for
- 25:15Speaker 2: what it is, Like have you even seen the show?
- 25:17Speaker 2: Have you even seen what's been happening like outside of
- 25:20Speaker 2: the perspective of your home, Like, maybe it can open
- 25:23Speaker 2: these girls up, like both of them. I think that
- 25:25Speaker 2: there's the potential, but they have to have like a
- 25:28Speaker 2: willing partner who's willing to like kind of take them
- 25:30Speaker 2: out of it and show them a whole new world
- 25:33Speaker 2: like Aladdin from fucking uh whatever that movie Aladdin is Aladdin,
- 25:38Speaker 2: Like you I got chat on the carpet of Like,
- 25:44Speaker 2: if they are able to find that, then yeah, there's potential.
- 25:47Speaker 2: But if they stay in that house, m their frontal
- 25:49Speaker 2: lobes are almost developed, I mean, there's a point of
- 25:52Speaker 2: no return. In my opinion, I think.
- 25:53Speaker 1: They're like the least likely out of all the siblings
- 25:56Speaker 1: to come out and tell the truth, just because I
- 25:58Speaker 1: think they are so sucked into Robin's orbit and they
- 26:01Speaker 1: are so entrained to her way of thinking that it
- 26:04Speaker 1: would like really take some exposure to something totally different,
- 26:07Speaker 1: some therapy, honey, in order to be liberated from that.
- 26:12Speaker 1: So there's a chance, but I don't know, unlikely with
- 26:16Speaker 1: Dayton again, I think it is probable that he already
- 26:19Speaker 1: sees it for what it is. I think there could
- 26:22Speaker 1: have been some kind of a confrontation between him and
- 26:25Speaker 1: Cody specifically, which caused him to be in the r V.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I think as soon as he has his brothers and
- 26:31Speaker 1: the ability, he's going to be out on his own
- 26:34Speaker 1: doing his own thing. I don't think though, I actually
- 26:36Speaker 1: don't see Dayton ever speaking out against them. Yeah, it
- 26:40Speaker 1: just doesn't seem to be in his nature. But it's
- 26:42Speaker 1: that Brianna one. I see it actually in her nature.
- 26:44Speaker 1: It anybody is going to, I hope so.
- 26:47Speaker 2: And it's like it brings up another question, like I
- 26:49Speaker 2: wonder what the dynamic is like in the house, Like
- 26:52Speaker 2: do they all fight with each other? Is there like
- 26:54Speaker 2: weird tension?
- 26:55Speaker 8: Sure?
- 26:55Speaker 2: Do Cody and Robin fight in front of them? Do
- 26:59Speaker 2: the girls push back on anything? Like the girls just
- 27:01Speaker 2: seem like Robin's minions. And then we have Dayton just
- 27:04Speaker 2: in the camper. Yeah, and I mean he doesn't want
- 27:06Speaker 2: to be on camera, so I don't know what's going
- 27:07Speaker 2: on there. Maybe he's smart, I mean maybe, or maybe
- 27:10Speaker 2: he's stuck in it too and he's just like, no,
- 27:12Speaker 2: let me be in my camper playing games, you know
- 27:14Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 27:15Speaker 1: No, he got his whole as degree and he yes,
- 27:18Speaker 1: he's credentialed, and I think he's got a job.
- 27:21Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I feel hopeful for him. I just hope that he
- 27:24Speaker 1: gets out.
- 27:25Speaker 2: That's the thing though, Like why is he on the
- 27:27Speaker 2: property though?
- 27:27Speaker 1: If he still is, they're moving, so I don't know
- 27:29Speaker 1: where he is.
- 27:30Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, interesting thought. Thank you, Thank you
- 27:34Speaker 2: all right, Next one, I think we have two from
- 27:36Speaker 2: this same person. Her name is Victoria Laura.
- 27:38Speaker 6: Okay, hey guys, this is Victoria Raccoon from New Jersey.
- 27:42Speaker 6: Love you guys so much. Thank you for listening to
- 27:45Speaker 6: my speak pipe. But I want to talk about how
- 27:49Speaker 6: and this week's preview for the December fifteenth episode, there's
- 27:52Speaker 6: a preview and Cody says Robin had this line of suitors.
- 27:55Speaker 6: All these men wanted her, and Cody has always pushed
- 27:59Speaker 6: that these men wanted her, her and her Diesel jeans,
- 28:02Speaker 6: how she's such a great person, and how he vetted
- 28:04Speaker 6: her to make sure she didn't leave a good man,
- 28:08Speaker 6: I personally think, and also sorry before I even get there,
- 28:13Speaker 6: the fact that now in twenty twenty three, at this case,
- 28:16Speaker 6: when we're watching, he's like turned his back on the
- 28:19Speaker 6: community and kind of like fighting with the men of
- 28:21Speaker 6: the AUV that I think those men were telling him,
- 28:25Speaker 6: do not get with her. She left her husband in
- 28:28Speaker 6: complete financial destitute, she took away his children. She's not
- 28:31Speaker 6: a good catch, and he's just like, no, no, no, she's amazing.
- 28:34Speaker 6: She looked well all look though, all the things she
- 28:36Speaker 6: has to offer me, Look how amazing she is. And
- 28:39Speaker 6: I think it's always been about that. He does not
- 28:41Speaker 6: give a crap what women say. This man is all
- 28:44Speaker 6: about what the guys say. He's doing it for the
- 28:46Speaker 6: male gaze. So I think, what's what's happening now. Also
- 28:51Speaker 6: why he's really like screwed the AUV is the men
- 28:54Speaker 6: turned around and said to him, you see, we told you,
- 28:55Speaker 6: we told you she was not good. Look, she cost
- 28:57Speaker 6: you all your wives, and because you were so obsessed
- 29:00Speaker 6: with her for some stupid reason, you lost your You know,
- 29:03Speaker 6: you was the main culprit of losing your wives. But
- 29:06Speaker 6: she was there too. I don't know what do you guys.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Think that's interesting to me?
- 29:10Speaker 1: Okay?
- 29:11Speaker 2: Do we want to listen to her other one and respond?
- 29:13Speaker 2: He ornyone respond to, responding that, well, I don't know.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I think it's interesting, like maybe the people in the
- 29:18Speaker 2: AUB knew Robin, maybe they knew her mom and like
- 29:22Speaker 2: how they handled polygamy and everything, like what went on there,
- 29:26Speaker 2: Like hm, I don't know. Maybe they were clocking Robin
- 29:29Speaker 2: and telling Cody. And Cody's like been one to be rebellious, right,
- 29:33Speaker 2: Like he doesn't want to follow anybody. He like paves
- 29:36Speaker 2: his own way and it's always stupid and he's always
- 29:39Speaker 2: full of shit. So like maybe people were like, no, dude,
- 29:41Speaker 2: she's a bad, bad chick. She's in it for the money.
- 29:44Speaker 2: She left her husband and she's a piece of shit.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Don't go for her. And Cody's like, no, she's just
- 29:50Speaker 2: something about her we all locked us.
- 29:53Speaker 6: She's so beautiful.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Honestly, I don't think so, because I think if the
- 29:57Speaker 1: AUB dissap approved of Robin, that would have gotten to
- 30:02Speaker 1: Christine and Mary and Janelle. And I think Christine being
- 30:07Speaker 1: an AUB princess and Mary being in it for life
- 30:10Speaker 1: would have taken that very seriously personally, and they would
- 30:13Speaker 1: have objected, objected, And I don't know. I mean, it
- 30:16Speaker 1: would seem to me that at the time, when they
- 30:19Speaker 1: were in Lehigh, they're trying to introduce another wife, it
- 30:21Speaker 1: would take three yeses in order to onboard Robin. So
- 30:25Speaker 1: I guess that means Mary said yes and Christine said yes.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And so I just don't think that they would have
- 30:32Speaker 1: if there was an issue with their actual church that
- 30:35Speaker 1: they revered personally. I think Cody is entirely just that
- 30:40Speaker 1: shallow that he would see other dudes looking at Robin
- 30:44Speaker 1: and think to himself with his puffed out chest, Yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 1: if I can get her, what does that say about me?
- 30:49Speaker 1: And for whatever reason, and we can have conversations for
- 30:53Speaker 1: hours about this, But for whatever reason, he thought she
- 30:56Speaker 1: was hot shit, he thought she was special. He thought
- 31:00Speaker 1: like this, this is the end all be all, this
- 31:03Speaker 1: is my woman.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Right, Or maybe the AUB wasn't saying anything like she
- 31:07Speaker 2: was a bad chick, or maybe they were just like, oh,
- 31:09Speaker 2: if you go public, because they talk about it this episode,
- 31:12Speaker 2: like the AUB was super pissed at them for even
- 31:14Speaker 2: going public in the first place and said that this
- 31:16Speaker 2: would ruin your family and this would ruin the reputation
- 31:19Speaker 2: of polygamy and blah blah blah. Maybe they were warning
- 31:21Speaker 2: him about that and warning him about onboarding this wife
- 31:24Speaker 2: that he was completely infatuated with and being like, yeah,
- 31:27Speaker 2: this is gonna destroy your family, and Cody's like, nah,
- 31:31Speaker 2: she's so amazing. She came in cap in hand.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Could I could see something like that happening. Maybe not
- 31:37Speaker 2: like the AEB completely disapproving, because you're right, maybe the
- 31:39Speaker 2: other wives.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Maybe they're complating that with the fact that at the
- 31:43Speaker 1: time that the family met Robin, there were rumors that
- 31:46Speaker 1: TLC was in town or they were producing this kind
- 31:49Speaker 1: of show. This is why Robin was gravitating towards the Browns. Yeah,
- 31:51Speaker 1: and so maybe that's mixed up with all of it.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Maybe the general warning from the AUB.
- 31:56Speaker 2: I could see it. Yeah, but you know, no matter
- 31:58Speaker 2: how many times Cody said, is that there's all these
- 32:01Speaker 2: suitors just looking at Robin. Sure, babe, I listen, let
- 32:05Speaker 2: me nobody's.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Take on this woman and her of seventy thousand dollars
- 32:09Speaker 1: Victoria's secret debt. I understand it's not all Victoria's secret.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I don't even know that it's seventy thous I think
- 32:14Speaker 1: it's thirty thousand. But let me take this woman in
- 32:16Speaker 1: all her debt and all her kids. Yeah, no, I
- 32:20Speaker 1: don't think so. I don't think there's a lot of
- 32:22Speaker 1: guys out there that we're looking for that.
- 32:23Speaker 2: No way, But what do I know.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I'm not in Utah culture.
- 32:25Speaker 2: No, right, all right, next one she has Okay, do you.
- 32:29Speaker 6: Guys think that Robin and Cody both have separate secret
- 32:34Speaker 6: bank accounts? You would think that after the last three
- 32:37Speaker 6: years of their life, Cody particularly would want to have
- 32:40Speaker 6: money set aside that is exclusively as his, you know,
- 32:43Speaker 6: no one has access to it. But then also Robin,
- 32:46Speaker 6: from the way the other wives have been treated that
- 32:49Speaker 6: even though you are whive number one Diesel Jean wearing
- 32:52Speaker 6: Dickensian Village having, you know, Queen of the Mountain would
- 32:58Speaker 6: have a separate bank account. You know, I would like
- 33:02Speaker 6: if I was Robin Ivy, thinking he left these women
- 33:05Speaker 6: with nothing, he could do the same to me. And
- 33:09Speaker 6: then also because she knows how he is when he
- 33:13Speaker 6: comes to business, or maybe she doesn't, maybe she's that ignorant.
- 33:16Speaker 6: I'm hoping it's that she does. And if she left him,
- 33:23Speaker 6: he would squander away the money before she's able to
- 33:26Speaker 6: get the hands on it, and then never works so
- 33:28Speaker 6: he never has to pay child support or if he
- 33:30Speaker 6: has to pay childsport, it be twenty dollars. So now she,
- 33:33Speaker 6: after not working for over ten years, will have to
- 33:37Speaker 6: get a job. Good lord to her co workers.
- 33:41Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 33:41Speaker 6: I don't know, guys, what do you think?
- 33:44Speaker 1: Huh? So I can see Cody completely trusting Robin and
- 33:52Speaker 1: not having any secret accounts. I think Cody looks at
- 33:56Speaker 1: Robin as end game. This is long view, sure together
- 34:01Speaker 1: until we die. Conversely, I can see Robin with a
- 34:06Speaker 1: secret bank account. I can see her tucking money away
- 34:10Speaker 1: every time they have a paycheck or whatever, putting some
- 34:13Speaker 1: money into her account and squirreling it away. First and foremost,
- 34:16Speaker 1: because she's driven by money, that's in her nature and
- 34:19Speaker 1: she just wants some for herself no matter what. She
- 34:20Speaker 1: doesn't want to share it. Second, because she orchestrated and
- 34:24Speaker 1: was a part of this huge fraud against these other women.
- 34:27Speaker 1: She knows exactly how Cody operates, and I would dare
- 34:31Speaker 1: say she's the one who turned his neck and she's
- 34:33Speaker 1: the one who put him up to it. So even
- 34:36Speaker 1: though I believe it was her who orchestrated the whole thing,
- 34:39Speaker 1: she knows that he went along with it, and she
- 34:42Speaker 1: knows that he's capable of icing out his children and
- 34:45Speaker 1: his wives, and so if at some point they are
- 34:49Speaker 1: at an impasse in their own relationship, she knows he's
- 34:51Speaker 1: capable of it. And so you'd have to be dumb
- 34:54Speaker 1: actually not to have your own account or to be
- 34:57Speaker 1: relying on a man like that. Well, I don't know.
- 35:00Speaker 2: I think she's dumb. I don't think she would have
- 35:02Speaker 2: a secret bank account, because maybe she was banking on
- 35:05Speaker 2: the wives all staying and her master plan working out
- 35:08Speaker 2: where she's still the favorite wife, but everybody's still contributing
- 35:12Speaker 2: to this family pot that her and Cody are siphoning
- 35:15Speaker 2: money off from and they live their dream on Coyote Pass,
- 35:19Speaker 2: still stealing money. Could you imagine if she just decided
- 35:22Speaker 2: to leave him and she's like, oh, I have all
- 35:23Speaker 2: this money and this secret account.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I would love it. Oh my god, I would love it.
- 35:27Speaker 1: What would he do? What do you think he would do?
- 35:29Speaker 1: Let's just talk it. Let's talk that out. Like if
- 35:32Speaker 1: Robin left him and took everything, Oh my god, what
- 35:35Speaker 1: would happen to Cody? What's the first thing he would do?
- 35:38Speaker 1: My god, he would be a rage monster.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Are you kidding? Because Robin's his one and only, his soulmate.
- 35:43Speaker 2: He's saying in this week's episode like, I don't want
- 35:45Speaker 2: anybody to take you away like you've got me, I've
- 35:48Speaker 2: got you type of a thing. So he would be
- 35:51Speaker 2: devastated for one. For two he'd be like, what the
- 35:53Speaker 2: fuck am I gonna do? And then for three, I
- 35:56Speaker 2: think he would totally try to screw her over because
- 35:58Speaker 2: how dare you leave the patrinriarch? How dare you leave me?
- 36:02Speaker 1: And all this? Oh. I think the first thing he
- 36:04Speaker 1: would do is drive to Parowan. I think he would
- 36:07Speaker 1: drive to Parewan. And I think he would try to
- 36:09Speaker 1: endear himself to Mary, and I think he would also
- 36:12Speaker 1: try and endear himself to Janelle, which is stupid because
- 36:15Speaker 1: I think Janelle, out of everybody, is the strongest, and
- 36:19Speaker 1: she'd be like, absolutely not kick rocks. I think in
- 36:22Speaker 1: lieu of that, he would try to create new relationships
- 36:26Speaker 1: with his existing children outside of his union with Robin,
- 36:30Speaker 1: Like he would get in touch with Hunter, he would
- 36:32Speaker 1: get in touch with Maddie. He would try to start
- 36:34Speaker 1: up these relationships again as a means to access those women. Oh,
- 36:39Speaker 1: so that he could have a place to live, or
- 36:41Speaker 1: that he could have some sort of a retirement plan
- 36:43Speaker 1: for himself, because let's face it, Mary is way more
- 36:46Speaker 1: successful in terms of her earning potential. Janelle is way
- 36:49Speaker 1: more successful in terms of her earning potential than Cody is.
- 36:53Speaker 1: And he's old. Now he's got nothing because Robin in
- 36:55Speaker 1: this scenario, which we won't put on the vision board
- 36:58Speaker 1: because that's just bad. I mean, say it happened. Yeah,
- 37:01Speaker 1: So in this scenario, if he's got nothing, or if
- 37:03Speaker 1: he's got very little and it's not going to sustain
- 37:05Speaker 1: him for long, I can totally see him trying to
- 37:08Speaker 1: get back with these ladies.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I'm the only one who might take him back is Mary.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Oh my god. She probably would. She probably was, especially
- 37:16Speaker 2: if he came to her and said all the right things, yes, yes,
- 37:22Speaker 2: unless she finds somebody who's touched her cookie yes better
- 37:27Speaker 2: than Cody ever has, and then she's like, what I
- 37:30Speaker 2: want you and your noodle.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Like we would hope for that for real. But don't
- 37:33Speaker 1: you think he tried it? Oh?
- 37:35Speaker 2: Tottally, especially if Mary's still single yep and sad yep.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Yes, well, thank you.
- 37:41Speaker 2: For those messages, Victoria. Very interesting questions, all right, last
- 37:45Speaker 2: one we have is from our raccoon and adoration. That's
- 37:49Speaker 2: what they put is their.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Own raccoon in adoration.
- 37:52Speaker 7: Like hey, B and D, I'm gonna take one last
- 37:56Speaker 7: shot at recording this because they're a little bit of
- 37:58Speaker 7: deep plots, So prepare self. This might not be the
- 38:01Speaker 7: funniest thing to listen to, But basically my take on
- 38:05Speaker 7: Mary and her child like demeanor with Cody and Robin
- 38:09Speaker 7: and her willingness to portray herself is based in some
- 38:13Speaker 7: background on the AUB. So I think the au B
- 38:16Speaker 7: conditions children from a young age to rely on sources
- 38:21Speaker 7: outside of themselves to answer the question am I good enough?
- 38:24Speaker 8: Am I okay? And am I doing the right thing?
- 38:27Speaker 8: A lot of high demand religions will do this, and
- 38:29Speaker 8: so basically you're supposed to look to your parents and
- 38:33Speaker 8: your religious leaders for the answers to those questions. You know, obey,
- 38:36Speaker 8: I fought your father and mother and be listening to
- 38:40Speaker 8: God through your religious leaders. And then as you get
- 38:43Speaker 8: older and you get married, that's true, that duty the
- 38:46Speaker 8: person who answers that those questions, that source gets transferred
- 38:49Speaker 8: to your husband. He is the man of God, he
- 38:51Speaker 8: is the priest, he's leading your family. Well, if that
- 38:56Speaker 8: man then chooses multiple wives and respects and reviews them
- 38:59Speaker 8: more than any elf, that same energy gets put onto her.
- 39:03Speaker 8: You're looking to them less like equal partners where you're
- 39:06Speaker 8: supposed to be making decisions with, and more like a
- 39:08Speaker 8: child to your parents. And this need that has been
- 39:11Speaker 8: created inside of you for external validation is so great
- 39:14Speaker 8: that it will often lead you to betraying yourself and others,
- 39:18Speaker 8: even when it benefits you nothing, because you need that
- 39:21Speaker 8: acceptance and approval. And I think that is why Mary does.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Which Wow, I agree.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Wow, that's a very deep thought and very I think
- 39:31Speaker 2: that's totally accurate, Like, especially from the religious aspect of it,
- 39:35Speaker 2: like honor your mother and father, honor God, like look
- 39:38Speaker 2: to God for all of your answers, which it you know,
- 39:42Speaker 2: it's like a double edged sword, like because you do
- 39:44Speaker 2: end up like losing yourself, especially in these high control
- 39:47Speaker 2: religions where you aren't really a person, like you're just
- 39:50Speaker 2: like a follower of like whatever this doctrine is. So
- 39:54Speaker 2: I could see that for Mary maybe that's why she
- 39:56Speaker 2: does the worthy up thing, because she has no self worth,
- 39:59Speaker 2: because she does see herself as somebody worthy of like
- 40:02Speaker 2: making her own decisions or like having feelings or taking
- 40:07Speaker 2: charge of her own life.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's such a powerful observation to me, you know,
- 40:14Speaker 1: And it really runs counter to what Christ even talked about,
- 40:18Speaker 1: which is the Kingdom of Heaven is within you. Yeah,
- 40:21Speaker 1: you know. And I think Isaiah Ezekiel says, come let
- 40:23Speaker 1: us reason together. God is saying, come you and me,
- 40:25Speaker 1: let's just talk about this. And religion really does seek
- 40:29Speaker 1: to require you to venerate and adhere to outside sources
- 40:34Speaker 1: in order to gather your wisdom, your experience, and your
- 40:38Speaker 1: concept of self for sure. And so if Mary has
- 40:41Speaker 1: been habituated to the practice of this, like growing up
- 40:44Speaker 1: as a child in Ldsaub being told that this is
- 40:48Speaker 1: what she's got to do, and so she's just in
- 40:49Speaker 1: the practice of always doing that. Like you can see
- 40:53Speaker 1: how even at the age of fifty two, fifty three,
- 40:56Speaker 1: fifty four, she is still struggling to figure out how
- 40:58Speaker 1: to do that. She creates this this company, this project
- 41:03Speaker 1: worthy Up almost as like something she can project out upon.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Like all of these things she wants to create and
- 41:11Speaker 1: feel within herself, right, but she doesn't know how to
- 41:14Speaker 1: generate that inside of herself. So she's creating this system
- 41:18Speaker 1: which has all of the the I don't want to
- 41:20Speaker 1: I don't want to diminish it too much. But like
- 41:22Speaker 1: all the buzzwords and all of the things all the
- 41:24Speaker 1: modern day in supposed speak and such like, from a
- 41:27Speaker 1: good intention, from a real seeking within herself to validate
- 41:31Speaker 1: in a firm herself. But like she doesn't know how
- 41:33Speaker 1: to do it, and stead she's doing it, she's still
- 41:34Speaker 1: doing it outside of herself. Uh huh.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, she did that interview that I talked about
- 41:39Speaker 2: in a recap where she did it with Entertainment Weekly
- 41:41Speaker 2: or whatever. She did kind of mention worthy of and
- 41:44Speaker 2: like what she does with it, And she said in
- 41:46Speaker 2: her own words that all she does is like share
- 41:48Speaker 2: stories about what she does to worthy herself up to
- 41:52Speaker 2: hopefully help other people do the same. So she's not
- 41:55Speaker 2: really like giving probably life changing advice to these people,
- 42:01Speaker 2: Like she's just kind of, like you said, projecting her
- 42:03Speaker 2: own stuff onto other people. Like yes, what And I'm like,
- 42:06Speaker 2: look at me, I've worthy up. It's like no, I
- 42:08Speaker 2: mean this takes years of practice, Like when you have
- 42:11Speaker 2: no self worth because you've just given it up to
- 42:13Speaker 2: like these figures of authority or these people that you're
- 42:17Speaker 2: told should make decisions for you, Like you're depleting yourself
- 42:21Speaker 2: of your autonomy and like you're independence, so like you
- 42:24Speaker 2: don't have any worse. That's why she's that's why she's
- 42:28Speaker 2: doing worthy up. And it's actually very sad now that
- 42:30Speaker 2: we're kind of talking about it, I feel bad for
- 42:32Speaker 2: calling her kind of pathetic.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Couple episodes. All these things can be true, though.
- 42:35Speaker 2: But it's like, I mean, God, like get some real
- 42:38Speaker 2: therapy and like figure out, like a deconstruct all of
- 42:41Speaker 2: this stuff. Like she's not willing to do that. I mean,
- 42:44Speaker 2: especially if she's going to the church leaders to get
- 42:46Speaker 2: a release from this marriage, like she's still entrenched in
- 42:49Speaker 2: the faith. She's still in entrenched in this behavior. And
- 42:53Speaker 2: it's like even with her friends, like having her friends
- 42:55Speaker 2: talk for her because she doesn't have the confidence to
- 42:58Speaker 2: do it herself.
- 43:00Speaker 1: It's really sad, you know, And I think that we
- 43:02Speaker 1: need to kind of get away from this idea that
- 43:06Speaker 1: somebody or something out there possesses the truth about us
- 43:11Speaker 1: and or that it's not okay to not know, like
- 43:16Speaker 1: not all who wander or lost, Like sometimes we're spending
- 43:20Speaker 1: time not knowing in order to sort of arrive at
- 43:23Speaker 1: it at the right time. Like it's okay to be
- 43:25Speaker 1: a complete seeker. And I would tell you that as
- 43:28Speaker 1: somebody who was involved in evangelical Christianity. I was a missionary,
- 43:32Speaker 1: I was a worship leader, I was a Bible study teacher.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I was doing the whole thing, Honey. When I unplugged
- 43:38Speaker 1: from the system of that, it was the most frightening
- 43:41Speaker 1: period of time in my life because up until that
- 43:44Speaker 1: point it was all I knew and I depended upon it,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and like the God of my life was attached to it.
- 43:49Speaker 1: And so all of a sudden, I'm walking away from that.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Who am I now? Who is God? Is even there
- 43:54Speaker 1: for me? Like why do I do? I don't know
- 43:56Speaker 1: who I am? What I should be doing? So it
- 43:59Speaker 1: was a really frightening time. But I spent a few
- 44:01Speaker 1: years just exploring, reading books, different religions, different faiths until
- 44:07Speaker 1: I cobbled together something that worked for me. And actually
- 44:11Speaker 1: Cody's spoke to that a little bit in this week's
- 44:14Speaker 1: episode when he's talking about like the challenges I found
- 44:17Speaker 1: in religion caused me to seek out the answers with God.
- 44:20Speaker 1: And so through my relationship with God, I was able
- 44:23Speaker 1: to find those answers. And that's what I want for
- 44:25Speaker 1: my kids. That's actually, that's a really that's a really
- 44:28Speaker 1: high vibe statement that it really actually resonates with me.
- 44:31Speaker 1: I just I don't trust him as the messenger and
- 44:35Speaker 1: the narrator there. But it's through the wandering and the
- 44:39Speaker 1: not knowing that you actually discover it as who it
- 44:41Speaker 1: is that you are. And so I would worry about
- 44:43Speaker 1: somebody like Mary being afraid to wander and not know,
- 44:47Speaker 1: like setting herself up and putting herself out as an authority,
- 44:51Speaker 1: even if she's just sharing her stories. Still she's putting
- 44:55Speaker 1: herself out is somewhat of an authority and or an
- 44:58Speaker 1: expert leading people on a certain path. Like when you
- 45:02Speaker 1: don't know who it is that you are, you ought
- 45:04Speaker 1: to not be doing that. Fact, you should be waiting,
- 45:06Speaker 1: you should be getting therapy, you should be getting mentorship,
- 45:08Speaker 1: you should be going through a process. Honey.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Yeah, And I like how she talked about like Mary's
- 45:13Speaker 2: kind of childlike in that, like not so much like
- 45:16Speaker 2: you know, a little baby child, but like in her soul,
- 45:18Speaker 2: like a little like you're still wandering, You're still trying
- 45:20Speaker 2: to figure your shit out, even at fifty five. Like
- 45:24Speaker 2: everybody can go through these different like periods in their life.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Like you know, it's just it sucks, because like I
- 45:31Speaker 2: want Mary to get to that point of like complete empowerment.
- 45:34Speaker 2: She's confident, Maybe she's deconstructed completely from the aub and
- 45:37Speaker 2: this fundamentalist religion. She's like figured out herself. She's worthied up,
- 45:42Speaker 2: and I really really hope for that for her. Maybe
- 45:44Speaker 2: that's what we're seeing, Like maybe she is kind of
- 45:46Speaker 2: going through this wandering phase of like this worthy up
- 45:49Speaker 2: stuff and trying to do something good and kind of
- 45:52Speaker 2: like not the best.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Way, but she's still attached to an identity, right it. Yeah, Like, actually,
- 45:57Speaker 1: when you become truly spiritual, not that I'm an expert,
- 45:59Speaker 1: but if your ego and your identity has nothing to
- 46:02Speaker 1: do with that, exactly becomes almost completely experiential or like
- 46:05Speaker 1: what you experience and what you know to be true
- 46:07Speaker 1: on a soul level. But she could be deconstructing that maybe,
- 46:11Speaker 1: and this could be a part of her process of deconstructing. Right,
- 46:14Speaker 1: So I do have compassion and I feel for her
- 46:16Speaker 1: in that way. So thank you. What was her name,
- 46:18Speaker 1: Raccoon and adoration, Raccoon and Ada. Thank you for just
- 46:21Speaker 1: mentioning that. Thank you, and it kind of helps me
- 46:23Speaker 1: to access a little bit more grace for miss Mary too. Yeah,
- 46:27Speaker 1: thank you.
- 46:28Speaker 2: I really appreciate that perspective.
- 46:30Speaker 1: So no more calls this week. We're done. Yeah again,
- 46:33Speaker 1: we would love to hear from you. All you have

- 47:16Speaker 1: do love you and care for you, and we love
- 47:18Speaker 1: each and every one of you that we've picked up
- 47:20Speaker 1: along the way. Yes, we've been doing this almost three years.
- 47:22Speaker 6: I know. Is that nuts?
- 47:25Speaker 1: We started this on a whim. Yeah, but look at
- 47:28Speaker 1: the beautiful people we've collected on the way.

- 47:43Speaker 2: And reminder, we're going to take a week break because
- 47:46Speaker 2: I don't think there's gonna be a Sister Wives episode

- 48:19Speaker 1: We will not be back next week to talk to y'all,
- 48:21Speaker 1: but will be back the week after that. That'll be
- 48:23Speaker 1: the New Year's week to talk more, sister wives. Hopefully
- 48:25Speaker 1: take your calls or just like shoot the shit in
- 48:28Speaker 1: the dumpster like we love to do. Until then, please
