- 4:12for having this platform. Thank you for having me on your platform. And
- 4:15I love how y'all do the intro. It's all professional and all the graphics
- 4:18and all exciting television type stuff. I was like, let's go, let's
- 4:23go. For those who just joined there who did not, I may not
- 4:26know me. I am Moody Black born in bread in Sparboro, South Carolina.
- 4:30I'm not resident in Greenville, South Carolina. But I've been involved in
- 4:32the arts since I was like three years old and joining painting as a visual
- 4:35artist. Still am been doing a lot of painting stuff and selling paintings,
- 4:40spoken word poetry, acting, comedy, uh, just everything except don't ask
- 4:46me to sign. I can't sign though, but a hip hop all that.
- 4:49But yeah, I've been involved in arts for a very long time.
- 4:53Professionally as a teaching artist past eight, nine, ten years something like that.
- 4:59But I'll go to the schools in school's contract to come in to a
- 5:01residency program. But these kids had to have fun with poetry. So yeah,
- 5:05I'm all that except a cycle to ask me to sign. Oh my
- 5:11goodness. So my first question is when did you fall in love with poetry?
- 5:19Ah? Love the hip hop question, but he put poetry, and
- 5:23I love it. I love it. I always tell the story. I
- 5:27didn't always like to read and write. I just wanted to draw us.
- 5:29All I wanted is draw and paint. That's all I wanted to do.
- 5:31So around eleven years old, I found myself in a hallway had We had
- 5:35this long hallway and the only thing in the hallway was this bookshef my mama
- 5:40had, And I'm going through the bookshelf and I found this book. It's
- 5:45entitled This Time called Life by Portney and Raw to Render out of Portland,
- 5:49Oregon. I want to meet this guy, but the pictures drew me.
- 5:55Like anytime anybody like to read, you look for the pictures first. I'm
- 5:58seeing these people who saw black and white photos of young people hanging out beaches
- 6:02and nature scenes and drew me in and besides each picture that was small poems,
- 6:06and all the poems were about being young and free. And I'm young.
- 6:10I wanted to be free. So I started doing poems and they really
- 6:13inspired me. Yeah, then I just started writing from them, writing my
- 6:16feelings. They taught me that I can express myself. But more pointly,
- 6:20punts of my mom. My mom always kept my sister and an eye involved
- 6:24in the arts. She would watch Saturday Night Live. We stay up with
- 6:27her and seeing all these skits and all the stuff, so we would renact
- 6:30a lot of stuff from home. And uh, just self expression has always
- 6:32been a big thing in our house. So when I find that book,
- 6:35I just wrote and started writing and sharing my poems and it's been on popping
- 6:40since then. What was the first poem that you ever wrote? Oh,
- 6:47I'm quite sure it had something to do with me loving some girl. I
- 6:50hope she liked me back and stuff like that. And roses are green and
- 6:54the flowers are gray. I'm quite sure of something like that. But U
- 6:59but he involved. I have evolved since then. Okay, we go back
- 7:04well over twenty years. For those who don't know, we were members of
- 7:12Kim Folk. Kim Folk, let me ask you, what's the difference for
- 7:17you between the hip hop era and poetry? Where do where do the lines
- 7:25connect? For you? It always has. Once I started writing poetry,
- 7:30I was started rapping around the same time, and actually writing poetry helped me.
- 7:34It still helps me as a writer of hip hop because you learned so
- 7:40many poetic devices and strategies write the poem. You apply those same strategies and
- 7:46writing hip hop now, my only don't they with me? I'm a tab
- 7:49bit biased with hip hop because to me, it's like more more freedom to
- 7:55me, just a little bit more freedom where I just not a whole out
- 7:59of guidelines. But at the same time, it's more structure as far as
- 8:03keeping the rhyme going in hip hop versus poetry. But I just I love
- 8:07just having just that that edging this and the rhyme into a beat versus I
- 8:13can do a beat with poetry. But I'm a little bit bias hippop.
- 8:16My heart always go to hip hop, but poetry helped me become a better
- 8:18writer. It's all the same to me, I tell you, that's why,
- 8:20that's the that's the whole gimmick. I hate to say, give me,
- 8:24but that's the hook for kids. I do a tech chart on the
- 8:28board and tell me something about poetry, and tell me something about songs.
- 8:31And when we do the whole little chart, they start realizing all the things
- 8:33the same thing on both sides, you know, right, so it's the
- 8:39same, It's all the same. Okay. I've always looked at you as
- 8:48kind of like Spartanburg's common. I take that the way you dress, the
- 9:00way he has a bigger the bigger those but okay, it's fine. So
- 9:05we're not gonna do coming like I take. I take that take that I'm
- 9:11a guy. I'm a guy. I can't say he fand you know,
- 9:13I mean we were in a new era. We can give props where no
- 9:18no, I say like, oh he fine. Now I'm just saying he
- 9:22coold. I like, you know, he's straight. But you know,
- 9:28I've always looked at you from that standpoint as far your delivery, with your
- 9:35hip hop and things that you were right because you were my ghost writer because
- 9:43I can rap. I can rap, but I can't write, So you
- 9:46know, leaned on you a little for that, but not to sidetrack the
- 9:54conversation. I know that you deal with kids, and you built with kids
- 10:00for quite a long time. I know that you've dealt with them in the
- 10:07sports arena, and I know that you deal with them in poetry. What
- 10:11is that like, going from teaching them the fundamentals of bouncing the ball to
- 10:18the fundamentals of putting the word together and forming poetry. Well, to me,
- 10:24it's all art. That's why I was able to I've always been an
- 10:28artist, but I always had a fascination with basketball. I love watching basketball.
- 10:33My best friend, I shout out John se Weaver, we played it
- 10:37and watched basketball Sceenior were kids. But when I start breaking the game down,
- 10:39I realized, with the strategies and stuff, you have to do.
- 10:43Same thing with writing poetry. So I looked at it, I visualize it.
- 10:46It's all art, whether it's writing or visual art, to me was
- 10:50all art. So I was able to take those fundamentals and coaching and trying
- 10:54to find ways to get a kid to get it. I do the same
- 10:58thing with writing or trying to find a way to get a kid to really
- 11:01get it. I find it. I had to find that kidney visioncy where
- 11:03they are and work with them within those parameters. So it's pretty much it's
- 11:07same to me. You know, what's been your defining moment in poetry to
- 11:13like where the light bulb goes up and you're like, yeah, this is
- 11:18what I'm supposed to be doing. Oh. Just when I got out of
- 11:22high school, I started traveling, doing a lot of open mics. Then
- 11:26once I, you know, start getting paying my dues. When I started
- 11:31hearing people telling me like, yo, I want to have you here.
- 11:33Can you come to my church? Can you come to my school? He
- 11:35cut to my event on my community center and to perform. I'm like,
- 11:39okay, I must be pretty decent. And I just kept doing that and
- 11:43insteadying the game. You know, then start getting to the poetry slam competitions
- 11:48and you know, start get some wigarooms to grow with that and win some
- 11:52competitions here and there. I'm like, okay, I can do something with
- 11:54this. Then once I started really breaking it down, guess how my mind
- 11:58were. I break things down. I canna tell kids, yeah, you
- 12:01go look at life like lego blocks. So I started putting blocks together,
- 12:05and I realized I can find a unique way of getting people to understand it,
- 12:09not just kids. I do it talk workshops as well, so I
- 12:13find a way to break things down and channel to that person, to find
- 12:16a way to for them to express themselves. Funny story. I remember you
- 12:22had to do a battle. I can't It was was in Greenville. Y'all
- 12:31came with me. Oh man, I didn't come. I didn't come.
- 12:37I was okay, I know it's right. Because Rico was supposed to pick
- 12:43me up from work. He ain't make it. But that's another story for
- 12:48another day. Because I was, I was ready to chop both of you
- 12:52off at the knees because I was like, but then, you know,
- 12:54he expressed to me, you know how you were going in and you were
- 12:58doing this and that, and then you went up against the girl and you
- 13:01was like, you know, try to be soft on her because it's a
- 13:05girl. And he was like, no, you got to you got to
- 13:09give it to us. You did, and and you walked away with whatever
- 13:13that prize was for that. What was that moment like for you? It's
- 13:18funny you bring that up and tell how disconnected the porch. I'm telling a
- 13:22funny story with that whole thing. First of all, shadow we go with
- 13:24my corner man. Man. It was riddle like a boxing match and we
- 13:28goes get me right every round. But with that young lady, it's like
- 13:33they wanted her to win. We we had we had to go two or
- 13:35three times. Like I was going to everybody else, I got to herd
- 13:39and it was the whole crowd judgment thing. It was even and and I
- 13:45was no, I was killing her, and they were like, oh,
- 13:46that was rooting for I Like, come on, I made this girl win.
- 13:48Man, come all down, but he told you off with her head
- 13:52off with her. Yeah, the final round, I just had to go
- 13:56grinding. Man had uh like that's not make you don't get her, but
- 14:05so excited you know when he came home to talk about it, because I
- 14:09was like I had steam coming out my ears because I'm like, yo,
- 14:16my feet hurt, and I'm agree, but you know, he had to
- 14:22do. And he was telling me how you got down and he said,
- 14:26he was like, you know you can't. You can't take your foot off
- 14:30the gas. You got to give it to us. Yeah, he got
- 14:33on me, man, but one of the participants shout out, my man,
- 14:37Jonathan Brown, John Brown, he wraps, he do poetry. So
- 14:41I ended up beating him. But The next night, I drove back to
- 14:43Gabrielle because that the battle rap was on a Saturday. Recall, I said,
- 14:50I recall, say what I was asked about you earlier. Bronco my
- 14:56corner back, He'll give me straight. But I came back to Coffee Underground.
- 15:01They had poetry and that's my first time hearing about portry slam. I
- 15:05didn't know the rules and how that worked. I just had one point memorized.
- 15:09So I ended up going and I didn't know it's three round. So
- 15:13I did the first round and I had the highest score and I thought I
- 15:16was done, and it was like all right points for the second round,
- 15:18and I was first, and I like second round, Oh my, I'm
- 15:20cooking through my notebook and the stumbling. I didn't win, but the guy
- 15:24who ended up winning, John Dea Brown, won and that same guy would
- 15:28to get the night before in the rap. But I beat him in the
- 15:31rap battle and he beat me in the portry Sam. Wow. Yeah,
- 15:37I'll never forget that one. Was that like a humbling experience. It came
- 15:41out in one arena and him taking you out in another. Yeah, but
- 15:46I felt some kind of way, But it was a lesson it was a
- 15:50lesson once I saw how it went okay, And we end up being the
- 15:54same slam team a couple years later, and we would travel compete against other
- 15:58teams different cities. So yeah, and me and him got closed and I
- 16:03used that opportunity to the only fundraising and travel different cities and poetry. Man,
- 16:08But just watching how these other vents, how they do, how they
- 16:11carry themselves, and let them talk about some of the people go to these
- 16:15colleges and stuff, and I'm like, I'm wanna do that. We go
- 16:18to colleges too. I'm gonna go to school too, So take notes.
- 16:22So that whole season was a lot of growth for you. Man. Look
- 16:26but that nightmare all epic every night, man shout out Rico in the building.
- 16:30Man, Yeah, ricnna have you right, bro. I've witnessed you
- 16:37in a space of where we were doing hip hop, and you know,
- 16:44some places we couldn't get our foot in the door, and then some places
- 16:48we were just like the main the main course. And it's been a humbling
- 16:53ride to be a part of all of that because of course, you know,
- 16:59I like to say and do things of that nature. And y'all brought
- 17:03that out of me, you know, and being able to perform in front
- 17:07of people. In the beginning, it was like, you know, nerve
- 17:11boggling. So you know, for you with the poetry, what is that
- 17:17like, getting in front of people and just going with it? What is
- 17:22that like for you? I'm always nervous, I tell people, don't believe
- 17:26me, but I embraced it. I tell people to embrace that. It's
- 17:30a good thing because when you're nervous, it's gonna push you. It's like
- 17:33a sickle swell. You get on stage, your nerves like, look,
- 17:37all right, be nervous, but you're gonna have to do somethingboudy. You
- 17:40got to go hard to go get out of here, and you are in
- 17:42there, so it just pushed you great. And I read this article with
- 17:45Denzel Washington was talking about when he does Broadway any kind of stage where how
- 17:49he's always always, you know, nervous, but how it wishes him to
- 17:55be great and perform. Well, So I'm like, shoot, if Dinzel
- 17:57get nervous, I ain't no this It's okay. Then you get nervous.
- 18:03Human looks like I hear you know. That's how I look at it.
- 18:07Man. But yeah, uh and once again shot of my man, johonny
- 18:11se Weaver. He has a slogan he say, man, we performing the
- 18:12light song. So you just got to you know, like click, just
- 18:17go there and get it. Go get it man. You know, right,
- 18:22how far has poetry taken you? Like? Has it? Have you
- 18:26been able to travel and see the world with your poetry? Not the world.
- 18:30I've been out over the country though, and the world is next.
- 18:33Uh yeah. Poetry has allowed me to accomplish a lot of things. Man.
- 18:40And because once I got to high school, like I said I was,
- 18:42I was a visual artist. I was drawing and painted and uh not
- 18:45the one time I heard you from me personally, Oh you're gonna do somethingbody,
- 18:52Yeah, come see, well you need you need to come to my
- 18:55play. No, I'm gonna talk about that in a minute. But once
- 18:59I realized my paintings wasn't selling after high school, I wasn't making no money
- 19:04selling paintings. And once people start liking my poetry, I'm like, okay,
- 19:08can you find me? Okay, I can I can try to this.
- 19:11I mean, I'm still working, but I'll make a little change here
- 19:14and there. But past eight years I've been going hard. Just this is
- 19:18full time for me. Okay. But uh, but once I got with
- 19:21the Poorgry Slam team and watch how the business handle and all the fundraising,
- 19:25I'm like, okay, let me so I could do this for myself.
- 19:27And once I built the name for myself, I started booking shows. I
- 19:30start touring, and I've been a lot of places across the country. A
- 19:36lot of stories. That's that's another, that's another show. I got some
- 19:38stories, man, Well you do know I'm bringing you back because we got
- 19:42to hear them stories we got. I got some stories, man, I'm
- 19:47trying to tell you. Oh, let me know if I have to put
- 19:49a parental advisory out there. No, no, no, no like that.
- 19:53Just it's just it's just too long. I mean some stories. Oh
- 19:57to be asked, what the play about? Okay, I'm gonna go ahead
- 20:00segue for those who list Like I said, I'm an actor. As a
- 20:03matter of fact, me and my man joyning to see a few other people.
- 20:07We actually won state the state data competition in high school and we've been
- 20:11in a part of the data program since since junior high school. But anyway,
- 20:17not only I write poems, I've been writing scripts for movies and plays,
- 20:21and a couple of years ago, about three or four years ago,
- 20:22I started noticing the poets these poems start saying, we're gonna do one man
- 20:26stage play. I'm doing man stage play, and I'm gonna go support them.
- 20:30And I'm listening, I'm like, you just doing poems, You're just
- 20:33doing a feature set. I'm like, this is not I don't look at
- 20:36it like a one man stage. But but they just performing a poem.
- 20:37Okay. So I'm like, well, I'm gonna make a play. I'm
- 20:41not gonna just do a bunch of poems. I'm gonna actually write a script
- 20:44for myself. We'll do it all real. I'm not saying what they were
- 20:48doing wasn't real, but doing authentic one man stage play. And uh,
- 20:52it's called The Other Side of Tomorrow. January twentieth, y'all, seven o'clock
- 20:59and the Performing Art Center Theater in Fountain Then tickets are twenty dollars, vi
- 21:04IP is forty dollars and I'm gonna tell you all that includes. But I'm
- 21:10playing his character named John, and John is really telling my story, but
- 21:14it ain't from me. So I got people names, but it ain't their
- 21:19name. But the whole plot just here's my thirty thirty second element elevator speech.
- 21:27So the other side tomorrow is character John. He's lost love, he
- 21:32lost his job, he lost himself, and the whole time it's a journey
- 21:34taking people through through humor and a lot of dramatic parts in it. Well,
- 21:38he's rediscovering himself or get more self awareness. But we're talking about the
- 21:44love he's lost and people he lost along the way. But he's growing and
- 21:48learning to understand andself and how he fair in society. Just with those things.
- 21:53So that's just the plot. Yeah, but it take twenty dollars twenty
- 21:59five at the door, y'all, forty dollars for VIP and VIP the door's
- 22:03opening sixth so sixty six thirty. You get to kick it with Moody Black.
- 22:06We're gonna have food a whole little section in the theater. You know
- 22:08what I'm saying, Get to hang out, got some freshman, you have
- 22:11some food, and you get front row seating for VIP. That's what's up.
- 22:15Can they reach you to purchase tickets or yeah? Yeah, okay,
- 22:21so I do have and I've been posting all over my page I do have
- 22:25tickets on event Bright, but if you was in the area, I can
- 22:30meet you. We can do it like that. I do have cash that
- 22:33Venmo, PayPal. I'm a businessman all like Jay Z said, I'm not
- 22:37a businessman. I'm a business man. I'm a business So I have all
- 22:42the other financial platforms to pay for a ticket. And I can meet you,
- 22:48y'all if you want to get a ticket, I can meet you.
- 22:51Melal to you how you want to do it, but the fastest way you
- 22:55just go event Bright. Type it in Moody Black US out of tomorrow.

- 23:06either way. But I'm excited about the play. It's gonna be something different.
- 23:10I got the Lovely Big Oh for one on seven point three jan She's
- 23:14hosting it at least the first half, so I'm doing something totally different with
- 23:18the with theater, I'm gonna have music. My man DJ Country Five,
- 23:21my man Tomlows D Jay and so we have some music. So I got
- 23:25some poets gonna perform, has some music in between. We have a ten
- 23:27minute intermission and the big O gonna bring me out and I'm gonna do uh
- 23:32yeah, I'm gonna do my stage play. Man. You're gonna see something
- 23:33really different in the Upstate, you know. So yeah, I'm excited day.
- 23:38I'm proud of you too, Thank you, thank you. So you
- 23:42know I'm about to put you on the spot, going were about to put
- 23:51you on the spot, I do. Here's some poetry. I want to
- 23:56hear some poetry. You know. The cool thing is I don't have to
- 24:03get ready because I stay ready. You know what I mean. You know
- 24:07what I'm saying. I am gonna do an oldie BUGHIDDI. I actually did
- 24:12a ted X talk, a brief talk, but I talked about depression.
- 24:18How I battled that with poetry as well. And I did this poem.
- 24:22It's called Priceless, and it kind of encompass all that. How I feel
- 24:26that there's a poet and everybody out there in the world is supporting all of
- 24:30us. All right, here we go. So this this is for the
- 24:37poets that go place to place and not make a penny. Hope it's somebody
- 24:41to give one for your thoughts, because thoughts of all that poets have to
- 24:45give, so you hope that somebody would at least give you something, especially
- 24:51after the landlord hands you in a viction notice. So after stress, you
- 24:53flip that piece of paper over, sprible some lines, and nine times out
- 24:56of ten you keep it because you have to deal with both sides of that
- 25:00paper. Now, one side of that paper the date where you gotta have
- 25:04all your stuff out of the house. But on the other side it's a
- 25:07poem, and not just any poem, but the poem becomes a soundtrack to
- 25:11your sanity. Instead of have a nervous break down, you broke down your
- 25:15spoons, your struggles with the pen and seek your sadness and sorrows with the
- 25:19stanza are soded and holst to make tomorrow a better day. Some say you
- 25:25better pray, because having a stress can pray on your soul. So port
- 25:27your soul to a soul that will listen. Go in place to place empty
- 25:32not your soul, and sometimes leave empty pockets. But you would a trade
- 25:34in that therapist session that some people call reciting a poem for anything in that
- 25:40moment. It's priceless. This is for all those do not know that they
- 25:47are poets and at some point in English class we flip past the portry session
- 25:52that sets yourself away to say, oh, portray for me, or poetry
- 25:55is boring those who never see themselves, sowing in the blue skies, resting
- 25:59on white cloud wearing a white tea with all whites and a white fitted hat
- 26:02that reads free those who have seen themselves. When I sing outfit on stage,
- 26:06your platform, mike or no mic, only because you never seen yourself.
- 26:10But if you see yourself, you're free yourself. Instead of wrapping your
- 26:15hood, you put on a hoodie, write a poem and make a movement,
- 26:18because once you see somebody give me their hearts souls a moveing. It
- 26:22don't cost that much to do it. Just go down to the dollar stove,
- 26:25get a pack of pins and a composition you put for two dollars and
- 26:27some change for a chance to change somebody's lightning in that movement. It's priceless
- 26:36And finally, y'all, this is for me. Ever since I was a
- 26:38fetis in pearl Reabu's wound, visualizing this day, hopeing someone inspired me write
- 26:42a poem to inspire changing somebody's life, screaming for it to come out,
- 26:47because the only outlet is his poetry. When you feel like a penguin without
- 26:49a heart, song to your happy feet, move to the beats and the
- 26:53rhymes of the hopes of heaven a better day. You rete a poem in
- 26:56every debt notification, then be peeled to the world. No was on the
- 27:00old than the seciety of your words. Your early life without poetry was boring.
- 27:04But it takes you going on some things, put it down on paper
- 27:08that you go on somethings to make it all. With violent poets, we
- 27:11feel like our poem's with millions. But to someone give me their last five
- 27:17dollars to purchase your CD, your book, your merchandise, knowing they'll pay
- 27:21check away from being homeless, m for that moment, it's priceless. You
- 27:30had a clap, You got a clap, man, you're a clap You
- 27:33snapped doing the pall, you stopped doing the pall etiquette. I love it.
- 27:42Yeah, Yeah, that's needed, man, I get all the time.
- 27:48Yeah. So the thing with a snapping, of course, it started
- 27:51in like the fifties doing the beatnic area era. Excuse me, but you
- 27:53snap like you hear a line that you liked on the oh I like that
- 27:56line. So you want to interrupt the ball, that's when you snap.
- 27:59And when the was done, he clapped. I had told this lady I
- 28:02was promoting with it. I do poetry. Oh you're a poetry started snapping
- 28:04in my face. I was like, honey, yo, get fighting us
- 28:08out my face. So I just love right there. I'm telling me.
- 28:14And Big Old was doing the show one time. You're like two hundred some
- 28:17people audience like a whole bunch of snapping. Make my flesh crawl. Oh
- 28:21wow, You're like like, I'll catch it up. Man, look at
- 28:26me a co host, and so hey, y'all, we don't like snaping
- 28:29all y'all start snapping right now. Just she turned around the whole all these
- 28:32days to step. Oh she's been pitied. I love you. I love
- 28:38her. My cousin gets her to host her red carpet Christmas events in North
- 28:48Carolina. Oh wow, okay, so that's what's up. Wahmie man.
- 28:53Yeah, she good people. She's very good people. So she's my place.
- 29:00Y'all gonna come out and see it. I want to pack it out,
- 29:02man, it's it's four hundred fifty six. I want to pack it
- 29:06out. Let's go. You deserve to. And if there's anything that we
- 29:11can do to help, you can share it on my page. I'm sure
- 29:14Rick go with mine if you shared it on his page. Yeah, share
- 29:18y'all. Share it there, share it. Matter of fact, I give
- 29:21y'all. I'll give y'all a link. Y'all can share the link. They
- 29:26want to buy tickets. I got you so little game before you go.
- 29:34Sorry. As far as Ken Folks go, how much of I represent do
- 29:45you remember? Oh? No, I represent for my people type. That's
- 29:52what we roll. I know that. That's I don't know none of my
- 29:56lines, but I'll say about the other to day. I need to find
- 30:00the CD somewhere. I can't remember that. The last time we talked about
- 30:08Kim Folks, Stephen Crocker, God risk, his soul was. He wouldn't
- 30:14do it. He wanted to. He hit. We talked a lot too.
- 30:19Man shot the man shot my man, Stephen Crocker. Man. I
- 30:22love Crocker. Yeah, he wanted he loved that, he loved us.
- 30:26Man. He wanted to we distributed that CD altum. He wanted to put
- 30:30it back out. Yeah, yeah, that would have been so so cool.
- 30:36But and things happened for a reason, Like everybody chose their own paths
- 30:44now, and you know it always gets greater later. So yeah, now
- 30:51what you're doing is where you need to be. That's that's your element,
- 30:56like that, that is what you were called to do. You know a
- 31:02lot of us go through life not knowing what our purpose is, and you
- 31:07know, trying to get our purpose from somebody else, you know, you
- 31:12know, trying to like I guess, bite off of their purpose or whatever.
- 31:18And you know, I think you found your niche and so I applaud
- 31:25you. I see you doing great things, and I wanted to see you
- 31:30continue to grow with it. And you know, shoot, I wrote a
- 31:33book. If you could turn that into a play by all means having like
- 31:38I was my first book actually be turns. I want a book to speak
- 31:48of books. The book The Other Side Tomorrow Poetry for Him. It is
- 31:52on Amazon, I definitely is on Kindle. Check that out. And I'm
- 31:57the not my play. I'm doing part one of my CD hip Hop Other
- 32:01Side Tomorrow as well, So everything's the Other Side of Tomorrow. Yeah,
- 32:06I got two songs. Huh. I was asking will you have your books
- 32:10and CDs on hand at your show. I'm working on that, that's the
- 32:15plan. But I do have two songs out y'all appreciate you. Downloaded from
- 32:22Apple put on your Spotify playlist. Have a song called find Myself out there
- 32:27featuring Foreign Tactics, two dudes. They produced it and they sing on it.
- 32:30And they have a song called Let's get it My Love, my little
- 32:32dance, Uh, dedication to all the nine to fivers out there. So
- 32:36y'all check it out. And if y'all playlist them, pennies count, that's
- 32:40right. I need that, So y'all check it out. I got that
- 32:45grown folks of this jam, you know, so y'all check out me hip
- 32:47hop, that's what's up. It has been a pleasure having you on tonight.
- 32:54Like man, likewise, I'm glad we were able to put this together
- 33:00and get you some some people to show up at this show, because it's
- 33:05gonna be amassed. Man, It's gonna be some difference. It's gonna make
- 33:09you think he's gonna be entertained as well. I promise all that promise that
- 33:14I do know that you are a certified food. When when it comes to
- 33:17making people laugh too, I'll cut up. It's gonna be some deep meanings
- 33:23behind the though, so y'all definitely take it out because I mean, over
- 33:29the last twenty years we've we've rolled together, and we've gone places, and
- 33:34you know, hearing stories about your aunt taking your food to me. We
- 33:42shill talk about that. This day we got a hot with on me with
- 33:45that one. He got a hot with on me with that. You know,
- 33:50we were talking about that, and we had to stop the call because
- 33:53I couldn't breathe from laughing at you. I got to I got the story.
- 34:01I put it out relate to that putting something in the refrigerator going back
- 34:07for you so gone gone. No rhyme or reason, just don't know.
- 34:14But she she was sitting at there with eating it. When I look for
- 34:16it, she was eating it, had the last basiness let the bottom of
- 34:21mouth, laughing at me. Wow, I want to fight if I wan't
- 34:28respectful, man, you got punched, raised you better than that. She
- 34:35raid me right, that's her sister too. I was gonna fight her sister
- 34:37that night. Boy, it's gonna be fighting that ketch table at first.
- 34:40Its gonna be booming up at that. But I'm trying to tell you.
- 34:43You said you was gonna knock ther hair and wash it and dryer what that
- 34:50one on not had practice too. And then we used to memberies go out
- 34:52to eat some time to bah. I'm like, nah, I'm good,
- 34:54I got food the house. I'm not. I didn't eat while I like,
- 34:58I can just take me home. I'm ready, man, And I
- 35:01went to be a hungry y'all understand my pain. Y'all understand my pain.
- 35:06So now you need to write a poet, a poem called y'all don't understand
- 35:09my pain. Oh no, this is my comedy retine. I do comedy
- 35:13to y'all travel do comedy way, Oh yeah, I got to. I
- 35:16just tell the stories, man, Oh yeah. Story. They are definitely
- 35:21getting a treat if they hear anything remotely close to what I heard. But
- 35:30listen, we gotta have you back. We got to have you back.
- 35:35I would love, we would like to know about what happened after the show.
- 35:43You know, Okay, I'll definitely bring you back. We're taking a
- 35:50break in January. We'll be back in February, so okay, I like,
- 35:55I love to know before we go, if you could bless us with
- 36:01another poem to take us out another poem. All right, I've been waiting
- 36:10for this moment to tell you. I've been rehearsing my lines like a poet
- 36:16prepared to perform. So here I am preparing you with your favorite dish kenniless
- 36:24bliss as we exchange eye gazes, and I'm gulping anxiety with lumps in my
- 36:30throat, brain cells turning the hopes heart scheme of the hope of jumping in
- 36:36like double dutch, so I can say those eight letters that transform into three
- 36:40words, I love you, And there I said it. I can't explain
- 36:46how you make me feel. I'm wanna pour this wound of words and have
- 36:51manufactured in my heart because every time I started to think about you, my
- 36:53heart flutters like butterfly wings fresh out of the chrystalis trying to get with this
- 37:00bliss, with this kiss, with this angel. Heaven knows how much I
- 37:02want to tame my tone and use the feet of my soul game. It's
- 37:06so I say I love you like let me count the ways with a million
- 37:10rose pedals that reappear every time I pluck them, plucked them like guitar strings,
