- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's the almost Famous podcast. We're back with another Franky Friday. Yesterday,
- 0:10Speaker 2: season four of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives dropped
- 0:13Speaker 2: on Hulu.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Ashley, will you be watching it this weekend?
- 0:18Speaker 4: I still have to watch the rest of season two
- 0:20Speaker 4: and three and then four. Guys, that's a lot of
- 0:23Speaker 4: Mormon Wives to you're watching before Bachelorette, and I must
- 0:26Speaker 4: you know why because this season pertains so very much
- 0:31Speaker 4: to the Bachelorette. So many storylines about Taylor's life going
- 0:35Speaker 4: into the season and where she was with Dakota. Uh,
- 0:39Speaker 4: we have a spoiler in this rundown that I'm gonna
- 0:42Speaker 4: have to say, like spoiler alert, guys. This is a
- 0:44Speaker 4: spoiler as far as like if you haven't watched season
- 0:47Speaker 4: four yet, which you probably haven't, being that again, it
- 0:49Speaker 4: dropped today, but there's something that happens on the episodes
- 0:54Speaker 4: and it's like, oh wow, that is a perfect cliffhanger
- 0:57Speaker 4: to go into the Bachelorette. All right, Ben, So our
- 1:01Speaker 4: first headline is Taylor being on the cover of US Weekly.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what I'm taking from this, Ashley, What
- 1:09Speaker 2: I mean Taylor's beautiful in this.
- 1:12Speaker 3: It's a great picture.
- 1:14Speaker 2: You always can tell what the show storyline they're pushing
- 1:19Speaker 2: us towards based on what pr is kind of allowing
- 1:24Speaker 2: to be said. They're really gonna fall into this unpredictable
- 1:28Speaker 2: storyline for Taylor Frankie Paul, which means I think she's
- 1:31Speaker 2: gonna be unpredictable, which I want and like going into
- 1:35Speaker 2: this season is something unexpected twists and turns her not
- 1:40Speaker 2: just follow along. She's actually gonna be a lead, and
- 1:43Speaker 2: I think leads make things unpredictable when they actually lead
- 1:47Speaker 2: a show.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Well, Ben, I read this Q and a that they
- 1:51Speaker 4: have in the Weekly. There are a few things that
- 1:54Speaker 4: I want to point out, a few bullet points, but
- 1:58Speaker 4: I have to say my overall take is that I
- 2:03Speaker 4: do not think she picks anyone, just based on this interview,
- 2:07Speaker 4: and I think that it's going to be picking herself
- 2:12Speaker 4: in the end. I literally think that she's going to say,
- 2:16Speaker 4: I give the final rose to myself and a declaration
- 2:20Speaker 4: of self love.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Hey, okay, go for it.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Do you want to hear this? This is why, this
- 2:25Speaker 4: is what solidified that. How would you describe the ending
- 2:29Speaker 4: of the bachelorette. I felt lots of different emotions for
- 2:33Speaker 4: lots of different reasons. It ended in a tailor way.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Some people may know what that means and some may not.
- 2:42Speaker 4: What do you think from that, It's gonna be unpredictable,
- 2:48Speaker 4: So maybe I'm trying to predict something that is auvertuitable.
- 2:51Speaker 3: No, I think.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I think if I was to guess, I would fall.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I understand what you're saying, like if I was to assume,
- 2:57Speaker 2: it would be what you're saying.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Okay, Well, I also had read all the article before,
- 3:03Speaker 4: and that's the last question, and there are reasons that
- 3:07Speaker 4: that like also led me to that conclusion because listen,
- 3:10Speaker 4: this is a quote. I didn't have to do this.
- 3:13Speaker 4: There was no other reason for me having to do
- 3:15Speaker 4: this other than wanting to get outside of Utah and
- 3:18Speaker 4: the toxicity that I'm in and venture off and do
- 3:21Speaker 4: something for myself. Like when asked about her relationship with Dakota,
- 3:26Speaker 4: she said, you know, it was just so back and
- 3:28Speaker 4: forth for so long, and if I couldn't snap and
- 3:31Speaker 4: like she basically couldn't snap out of it. She said,
- 3:34Speaker 4: if I could snap out of it, trust me, I would.
- 3:37Speaker 4: It's just a lot harder said and done, and then
- 3:42Speaker 4: she also said something about like misconceptions about herself. I'm
- 3:45Speaker 4: a very soft, gentle person. Like if you see me
- 3:48Speaker 4: on the show like Secret Lives, like you get a
- 3:50Speaker 4: chaotic reaction, like a reactive, petty side of me. But
- 3:54Speaker 4: I'm actually like a very chill, regular person. I'm a
- 3:57Speaker 4: lover girl through and through. And that's why I'm here
- 4:00Speaker 4: Because as much as I feel pain with that I
- 4:05Speaker 4: have felt with love, I'm still here wanting to find it.
- 4:07Speaker 4: I have hope for it, and that's what I long for.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Like I literally think that there's so much of her
- 4:16Speaker 4: just wanting to get into the bachelorette role so that
- 4:19Speaker 4: she could leave the situation that she was and she
- 4:23Speaker 4: just needed a break of what this, you know, a
- 4:25Speaker 4: break from Dakota, a break from probably being one of
- 4:29Speaker 4: the Mormon wives.
- 4:31Speaker 3: And it's giving us clarity.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Actually it kind of leads us to the next headline,
- 4:36Speaker 2: but it gives us clarity on why she said yes
- 4:39Speaker 2: to the role. People have no not been confused by.
- 4:42Speaker 2: It makes sense, right, It's a good moment for her,
- 4:45Speaker 2: it's good professionally for her, and it pushes her into
- 4:49Speaker 2: a whole new realm and fan base. That's all great,
- 4:52Speaker 2: but we always wondered, hey, does she actually want to
- 4:56Speaker 2: meet somebody? I think was a question, and this is
- 4:59Speaker 2: pointing to the the answer of yes. The next headline
- 5:02Speaker 2: says that she joined the Bachelorette to break free of
- 5:05Speaker 2: toxic relationships. This was a clean slate for her. This
- 5:09Speaker 2: goes outside of her network of friends from the Mormon
- 5:12Speaker 2: Wive show, It goes outside of the network of people
- 5:14Speaker 2: she's known growing up. And I think it makes sense
- 5:17Speaker 2: on why she said yes for the sake of a relationship.
- 5:20Speaker 2: She wants to get away from the toxicity. I think
- 5:23Speaker 2: that's wonderful.
- 5:24Speaker 4: No, I love that. I think that she she basically
- 5:30Speaker 4: was saying here, there's this other quote that I like
- 5:32Speaker 4: because yes, it's so so true that she could like
- 5:37Speaker 4: she is not there for the wrong reasons because she
- 5:40Speaker 4: was already the lead of a reality show and then
- 5:42Speaker 4: she was given another awesome opportunity in the same realm.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Is it going to amp her up even further? Yeah?
- 5:49Speaker 4: But I also think like she was definitely huge reality star,
- 5:53Speaker 4: you know, social media person's personality. She didn't need this.
- 5:56Speaker 4: And she basically goes and she says that she didn't
- 5:59Speaker 4: need it, She says, I get this opportunity as a
- 6:01Speaker 4: single mom to just purely focus on dating and love
- 6:04Speaker 4: and myself. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. That's
- 6:08Speaker 4: why I was there. And anyone that doesn't believe that,
- 6:11Speaker 4: that's their own issue. I truly believe this. This is
- 6:14Speaker 4: like one of the most there for the right reasons
- 6:18Speaker 4: sort of situations.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Yeah, one hundred percent.
- 6:21Speaker 2: It was why it maybe was a little bit confusing
- 6:24Speaker 2: because we're like, wait, she doesn't need this, why is
- 6:26Speaker 2: she doing this? But now it makes sense on why
- 6:29Speaker 2: she said yes to it. I think it's a great
- 6:30Speaker 2: opportunity for her to have that clean slate. It's in
- 6:34Speaker 2: a sense why so many other people say yes to
- 6:38Speaker 2: the show. Right there is the new you know, the
- 6:41Speaker 2: excitement of being on TV. There is the excitement of
- 6:44Speaker 2: being on television in front of millions of people. That's great,
- 6:48Speaker 2: But I think deep down most people's reason for going
- 6:52Speaker 2: on is.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Ah, why not?
- 6:53Speaker 2: Like maybe this could work for me? Maybe I could
- 6:56Speaker 2: meet somebody through this. Am I expecting to No, not real?
- 7:00Speaker 2: It feels kind of weird and funky, but maybe I
- 7:03Speaker 2: could And if all else fails, then maybe I'll meet
- 7:06Speaker 2: some cool people along the way and have a great experience.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I think Taylor is falling right into that category, even
- 7:11Speaker 2: though she has the platform that's already been gifted and
- 7:16Speaker 2: given to her through the Mormon Wive Show. I think
- 7:19Speaker 2: this is a wonderful reason for her to go on,
- 7:21Speaker 2: is to break free from some of the things that
- 7:24Speaker 2: she's been a part of in the past and try
- 7:26Speaker 2: love without maybe the influences that have been around her
- 7:30Speaker 2: for so long. She also in this article answers the question.
- 7:44Speaker 2: The question is, prior to going on the show, did
- 7:46Speaker 2: you think it was possibly be in love with more
- 7:48Speaker 2: than one person at the same time? Ashley, Very interesting
- 7:53Speaker 2: question for Taylor to answer.
- 7:55Speaker 4: You cover this one because you've been in that situation
- 7:58Speaker 4: and been the starter of all this.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Her answer is, yes, I think I can be in
- 8:02Speaker 2: love with more than one person. I think you always
- 8:05Speaker 2: love someone more, but I think you can be very
- 8:07Speaker 2: confused about multiple people.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Thank you, Taylor.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Let's see what happens here. Our producer wrote a little note.
- 8:17Speaker 4: She goes, what if it ends with her proposing? And
- 8:20Speaker 4: I'm like, Eh, would that be the first time? Yeah,
- 8:23Speaker 4: I guess a bachelorette would do that I just don't
- 8:27Speaker 4: I don't know. And also let's make it.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Wait, didn't it somebody else?
- 8:32Speaker 4: I think that another girl like was like, oh yeah,
- 8:34Speaker 4: that was Jen, Like Jen just on the last season
- 8:38Speaker 4: was basically like I'm going to yeah, And then we
- 8:41Speaker 4: thought that he was a dick, you remember, and like all.
- 8:43Speaker 3: That, and we were so wrong.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Yeah, we were just it was just a very very
- 8:49Speaker 4: bad situation. So then I also want to make note
- 8:53Speaker 4: that Taylor has been a mom since she was twenty four.
- 8:58Speaker 4: She was married very young, so she's never really had
- 9:03Speaker 4: an alone moment in her adulthood. So this is another
- 9:07Speaker 4: perfect way for her to get that.
- 9:09Speaker 2: By the way, I was just kidding about us being
- 9:10Speaker 2: so wrong. We won't even mention his name, but it.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Proved that I remember his name now, But yeah.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I know I remember his name, but we won't mention
- 9:17Speaker 2: it because it was so wild and wacky at the
- 9:20Speaker 2: end of that probably the wild and wackiest reaction for
- 9:23Speaker 2: any winner ever from the show. Usually, like the person chosen,
- 9:26Speaker 2: you're like, okay, they broke up, but they're okay, like
- 9:30Speaker 2: you know they I get why they chose them. This
- 9:32Speaker 2: one like was confusing then confusing after confusing. Now anyways,
- 9:37Speaker 2: we're back to Taylor here. Final question I want to
- 9:40Speaker 2: cover with you that she answered during this interview was
- 9:43Speaker 2: what was the end goal with the Bachelorette, and she
- 9:46Speaker 2: answers the goal was to find my person. I didn't
- 9:49Speaker 2: really have any vision of how it could go an engagement,
- 9:52Speaker 2: we leave together, or trying to date. I didn't set
- 9:55Speaker 2: any other expectations. Again, I think Ashley, you and I
- 10:00Speaker 2: would agree that this is a breath of fresh air
- 10:03Speaker 2: for us, where she didn't feel that pressure of, hey,
- 10:06Speaker 2: if this isn't right for me, I don't know if
- 10:09Speaker 2: we're gonna leave together.
- 10:10Speaker 3: And that's okay with us. We're not.
- 10:13Speaker 2: We're not looking for, you know, the oh my gosh,
- 10:17Speaker 2: yes you're gonna get married kind of thing. We're just
- 10:20Speaker 2: looking for an engagement or for an opportunity to meet
- 10:23Speaker 2: somebody that one day you could potentially become engaged to.
- 10:27Speaker 4: And that bullet point made me think about what I thought,
- 10:30Speaker 4: And then so did this next one where she said
- 10:34Speaker 4: about mental health struggles that she's been posting about. She says,
- 10:39Speaker 4: it's more adjusting back to a very high rush situation
- 10:44Speaker 4: of filming and then coming back home and adjusting and
- 10:46Speaker 4: then having to go to do more filming for Mormon Wives.
- 10:50Speaker 4: I have a lot on my plate that I agreed
- 10:52Speaker 4: to do, plus being a mom of three. With my
- 10:54Speaker 4: mental health, it's sometimes a chemical imbalance. Nothing has to
- 10:58Speaker 4: happen to affect my mental health and that's the struggle
- 11:01Speaker 4: of it. And then they go are you happy in
- 11:03Speaker 4: this moment? And she says, I'm happy in this moment? Yes,
- 11:07Speaker 4: So I don't know. I just don't feel like I
- 11:11Speaker 4: just don't feel like there's another guy like doing life
- 11:13Speaker 4: with her right now. That's just my vote, my vibe. Anyway,
- 11:15Speaker 4: let's go into this next headline, which is our juicy
- 11:18Speaker 4: spoiler of the week. Again, this is a spoiler about
- 11:22Speaker 4: Mormon Wives, so you do not listen if you don't
- 11:25Speaker 4: want to be spoiled.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Dakota Mortensen claims he slept with Taylor Frankie Paul the
- 11:29Speaker 2: night before she left for the bachelorette.
- 11:32Speaker 4: And it's really all there. You can read the whole synopsis,
- 11:37Speaker 4: but that is what he's saying. He went over to
- 11:40Speaker 4: drop off ever the night before she had to leave,
- 11:43Speaker 4: and he apparently slept over, only for there to be
- 11:49Speaker 4: some tidbits further into the episode about the fact that
- 11:53Speaker 4: Taylor had mentioned that she was ovulating when they slept together.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Ben's eyes just a lie.
- 12:01Speaker 3: I know what that means now.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Yeah, and so he was afraid that she went off
- 12:05Speaker 4: to film Bachelorette pregnant, and then Taylor was basically like,
- 12:09Speaker 4: look at my stomach? Do I look pregnant? That was like,
- 12:11Speaker 4: after a little bit.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Can I say something?
- 12:14Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 12:14Speaker 3: Am I wrong?
- 12:15Speaker 2: And maybe I'm old school. Some would call me too
- 12:18Speaker 2: traditional in saying that, Like, hey, you know what, you
- 12:23Speaker 2: guys had a history, You're comfortable with each other, Obviously,
- 12:27Speaker 2: I understand. Do I think it was wise or smart? No,
- 12:30Speaker 2: I'm not saying that, But I understand how you know,
- 12:32Speaker 2: a night before a big moment where you could leave
- 12:35Speaker 2: potentially engaged, you would be like, hey, can we just
- 12:38Speaker 2: give it one more, you know, rowdy time together, just
- 12:44Speaker 2: to say it was possibly our last time. I understand
- 12:47Speaker 2: how that happens or where the mind would be there. Again,
- 12:51Speaker 2: don't think it's wise, don't think it's smart. My problem
- 12:55Speaker 2: is that he was willing to say it publicly. It
- 13:00Speaker 2: feels like kind of disrespectful. It feels like, if you
- 13:04Speaker 2: cared about somebody, you just be like, hey, yeah, we
- 13:07Speaker 2: did that, and you know what.
- 13:09Speaker 3: It doesn't need to be anybody else's business.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Yeah, obviously I concur but you know, he's also on
- 13:16Speaker 4: reality TV and he says this when he pulls pulls
- 13:20Speaker 4: two of her mom talk friends over and goes, Taylor
- 13:24Speaker 4: told me that the last time we did it, she
- 13:26Speaker 4: was like ovulating and then said I haven't had my
- 13:31Speaker 4: period yet and I'm like, what from when? And then
- 13:36Speaker 4: she said whoa, like hang on, like trying to do
- 13:40Speaker 4: the math. I'm pretty sure that's how I'm interpreting. I'm
- 13:44Speaker 4: interpreting it correctly.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Maybe this will be the wildest and most unpredictable bachelorrete season.
- 13:50Speaker 3: That's what happened.
- 13:50Speaker 4: She finds out she's pregnant. No, I saw that girl's
- 13:53Speaker 4: stomach in January and that is not a pregnant belly.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Uh.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Next time line is we get a first low get
- 14:00Speaker 2: Taylor Frankie Paul's night one as the bachelorette.
- 14:03Speaker 4: You know, and I'm not done talking about that. How nutty?
- 14:08Speaker 4: How nutty to just know that you're ovulating and then
- 14:12Speaker 4: to be like, yeah, let's just what this girl doesn't
- 14:16Speaker 4: care about getting pregnant.
- 14:19Speaker 3: No, maybe they use protection.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Maybe, all right, moving on, Heather goes, no, no condoms, Okay,
- 14:30Speaker 4: all right, yees, she just doesn't.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Care to talk to my neighbors. They had plenty, how
- 14:34Speaker 3: many kids?
- 14:35Speaker 4: Oh? Okay, first look at Taylor's Night one, Ben, we
- 14:41Speaker 4: see these photos. You can see them online. Just type
- 14:45Speaker 4: it in, guys. It's just some pictures of her meeting
- 14:48Speaker 4: the guys on night one, with them coming out of
- 14:50Speaker 4: the limo. And you know how usually we're like, oh
- 14:53Speaker 4: my god, guys, looks so much better. I'm not saying
- 14:55Speaker 4: that these guys are like not nice looking guys, like
- 14:58Speaker 4: obviously like nice looking humans, but like they're not hotties.
- 15:03Speaker 4: I'm gonna be a problem, but I'm just being honest.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I hate that for them.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Taylor Frankie Paul Takes All the Roses Away an official
- 15:12Speaker 2: Bachelorette trailer.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Yes, Taylor get it.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Okay, this is a great teaser. So she tells Jesse
- 15:18Speaker 4: that she doesn't want any roses around like during this
- 15:21Speaker 4: rose ceremony, like she doesn't think that like anybody deserves
- 15:23Speaker 4: them this night. And then she goes and she grabs
- 15:25Speaker 4: or at least that's what I'm assuming. Then she goes
- 15:27Speaker 4: and she grabs a rose from a guy who already
- 15:31Speaker 4: had one, being like your community is taken away, Like
- 15:34Speaker 4: you're still in contention to be eliminated tonight again assuming,
- 15:40Speaker 4: but it seems like she gets really annoyed at something
- 15:42Speaker 4: and then she's like, uh, nobody's getting roses tonight. And
- 15:48Speaker 4: then of course Taylor's you know, Taylor Swifts, look what
- 15:50Speaker 4: you maybe do is playing throughout the entire thing, and
- 15:53Speaker 4: that makes everything a little bit more sassy and dramatic.
- 15:57Speaker 2: We've got a lot of trailers so far, Ashley. All
- 16:00Speaker 2: of them get us very excited for the next season
- 16:02Speaker 2: of The Bachelorette. This has been another Franky Friday, breaking
- 16:06Speaker 2: down everything happening in the life and the world of
- 16:08Speaker 2: Taylor Frankie Paul our season's next Bachelorette. So until next time,
- 16:13Speaker 2: I've been Ben.
- 16:14Speaker 4: I've been Ashley. See you guys.
