Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie
- 0:04Speaker 1: in his time on this Martin Luther King Junior holiday
- 0:09Speaker 1: for today's word, the courage to dream and to do.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Proverbs twenty nine eighteen says, where there is no vision,
- 0:19Speaker 1: the people perish. Doctor Martin Luther King Junior is remembered
- 0:23Speaker 1: not only for the words he spoke, but for the
- 0:27Speaker 1: life he lived. He carried a God given dream in
- 0:31Speaker 1: his heart at a time when the cost of that
- 0:34Speaker 1: dream was heffy. His vision of justice, equality and dignity
- 0:39Speaker 1: for all people was rooted in scripture, shaped by prayer,
- 0:42Speaker 1: and sustained by faith. Doctor King did not merely dream.
- 0:47Speaker 1: He walked out his purpose with courage, with conviction, and
- 0:52Speaker 1: with love. Doctor King understood that a dream without action
- 0:56Speaker 1: remains only an idea. He faced fear, he faced opposition,
- 1:02Speaker 1: He faced threats and setback. Yet he refused to allow
- 1:06Speaker 1: hatred to shape his response or hardship to silence his calling.
- 1:12Speaker 1: He believed that God's purpose was greater than personal comfort,
- 1:16Speaker 1: and that obedience mattered more than approval. His life reminds
- 1:20Speaker 1: us that purpose is not always easy, but it is
- 1:24Speaker 1: always worth pursuing. God places a dream inside every one
- 1:30Speaker 1: of us. It may not look the same as Doctor Kings,
- 1:34Speaker 1: but it is no less important. Your dream may be
- 1:37Speaker 1: to bring healing to broken families, to serve your community,
- 1:41Speaker 1: to educate, to lead, to create, or to stand for
- 1:44Speaker 1: what is right in places where silence feels safer. Purpose
- 1:50Speaker 1: often calls us beyond convenience and challenges us to trust
- 1:54Speaker 1: God in unfamiliar territory. Well, like doctor King, you may
- 1:59Speaker 1: encounter resistance. You may feel unqualified, You may feel misunderstood
- 2:04Speaker 1: or weary along the way. But God does not give
- 2:07Speaker 1: dreams without also providing strength to endure and grace to
- 2:11Speaker 1: carry those dreams. When your purpose is rooted in love,
- 2:17Speaker 1: when it's guided by faith and surrendered to God, it
- 2:20Speaker 1: has the power to absolutely change lives, starting with your own.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Doctor King once said that faith is taking the first step,
- 2:30Speaker 1: even when you don't see the whole staircase. Well, that
- 2:33Speaker 1: truth echoes in the heart of scripture. God rarely reveals
- 2:37Speaker 1: every detail at once. He asks us to trust Him
- 2:40Speaker 1: to walk forward, one step at a time, believing that
- 2:44Speaker 1: He is at work through us. Today, let Doctor King's
- 2:49Speaker 1: legacy remind you that your life does matter, your voice
- 2:54Speaker 1: does matter, and your obedience matters, So dream both live
- 3:01Speaker 1: intentionally walk out the purpose Goddess place within you, knowing
- 3:05Speaker 1: that even one faithful life can leave an eternal impact. Father,
- 3:10Speaker 1: thank you. Thank you for the life of the legacy
- 3:13Speaker 1: of doctor Martin Luther King Junior and for the example
- 3:15Speaker 1: of faith, courage, and purpose he lived out. Help us
- 3:19Speaker 1: to recognize the dream you placed within our hearts. Give
- 3:23Speaker 1: us the courage to walk in our calling, the strength
- 3:26Speaker 1: to persevere, and the love to reflect You in all
- 3:29Speaker 1: that we do. God, we choose to live with purpose
- 3:33Speaker 1: and faith, trusting you every step of the way in
- 3:36Speaker 1: Jesus' name. Hey, now that's your word for today. Take
- 3:41Speaker 1: it apply to your everyday life and you could see
- 3:45Speaker 1: to be encouraged and inspired with me, your girl, Sherry Mackie,
- 3:48Speaker 1: as you continue to have the courage to dream and
- 3:52Speaker 1: do
