- 1:03Speaker 3: in atl atl Yeah, heroes.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Shot shot fact that shout to Atlanta, but New York
- 1:10Speaker 4: New York twist in Atlanta, so you know New York
- 1:13Speaker 4: is heavy in Atlanta, so you know it's all good.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I love the South.
- 1:18Speaker 4: This is like New York South down here, Yeah for sure.
- 1:20Speaker 4: But before we start, we got some exciting news. So
- 1:23Speaker 4: you know, as you guys know, we've been talking about
- 1:26Speaker 4: E y L University a lot, and you know, one
- 1:28Speaker 4: of the benefits with the podcast that every single week
- 1:30Speaker 4: we get to bring on different entrepreneur, different professional from
- 1:34Speaker 4: different areas, and you know, they give so much information
- 1:37Speaker 4: and we build personal relationships with these people. So we thought, like,
- 1:39Speaker 4: you know, we want to kind of build on that
- 1:41Speaker 4: and offer more value. So one of the things that
- 1:44Speaker 4: we're going to be starting is a monthly workshop series.
- 1:47Speaker 4: And you know, every month we're going to have a
- 1:49Speaker 4: guest come and that's going to be an in person
- 1:52Speaker 4: workshop series and that's going to be an actual class
- 1:55Speaker 4: and question and answers and all kinds of stuff like that.
- 1:57Speaker 4: So it's going to be in New York City, and
- 2:00Speaker 4: but we're going to live stream it so anywhere in
- 2:03Speaker 4: the world you can you know, see and you can
- 2:05Speaker 4: submke questions.
- 2:06Speaker 3: It's gonna be a real dope situation.
- 2:07Speaker 4: It's just going to be an extended version of the podcast,
- 2:10Speaker 4: but just more interactive. So we're starting it out with
- 2:12Speaker 4: our guy, Matt MG, the mortgage guy, and we're going
- 2:15Speaker 4: to do the first workshop and that's going to be
- 2:17Speaker 4: on first time real estate Investors. So everybody wants to
- 2:22Speaker 4: be a real estate investor, right, but it's like how
- 2:24Speaker 4: do I.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Get in the game.
- 2:24Speaker 4: It's like double dug if you don't know what you're doing,
- 2:26Speaker 4: it's like what do you do? So this is going
- 2:28Speaker 4: to be the blueprint of how to get started in
- 2:30Speaker 4: real estate first time real Estate Investor class, and that
- 2:34Speaker 4: will be October seventeenth. And yes, so go to our
- 2:39Speaker 4: website on the events tab and we'll have all that information.
- 2:41Speaker 4: As I said, you can do a live stream or
- 2:43Speaker 4: you can do it in person. Yes, so make sure we.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Got a lot of lump coming back too.
- 2:47Speaker 5: So like that's good, Like we've been saying, like everybody
- 2:49Speaker 5: that comes on and we got we got a new
- 2:52Speaker 5: alumn now.
- 2:53Speaker 2: But we're gonna have a lum coming back to each
- 2:55Speaker 2: one of these events.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a real it's a real family, you know,
- 2:57Speaker 4: it's not just a show a podcast. We developed relationships
- 3:00Speaker 4: with these people and they become like real real friends
- 3:02Speaker 4: of ours. So you know, so business is all about relationships,
- 3:06Speaker 4: so you know, it's about building strong relationships. So yeah,
- 3:08Speaker 4: make sure y'all check that out. Go to the events tab.
- 3:10Speaker 4: All right, without further ado, we have a very special guest,
- 3:14Speaker 4: a very highly recommended guest. Actually it's something that you know,
- 3:18Speaker 4: we come from New York and especially me. You know,
- 3:20Speaker 4: I have a career in finance, and you don't really
- 3:23Speaker 4: think about the trucking industry a lot. Like it's something
- 3:26Speaker 4: that at least I never really thought about it.
- 3:28Speaker 5: I think the last time I thought about the truck
- 3:30Speaker 5: was Optimist Prime.
- 3:32Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. It was that, And we
- 3:34Speaker 2: never thought about trucks again.
- 3:36Speaker 3: That's a fact.
- 3:36Speaker 4: But a lot of people have been asking us to
- 3:38Speaker 4: cover the trucking industry. So my man Samore, he put
- 3:41Speaker 4: me on to the good Brother Alex Good Energy Alex
- 3:44Speaker 4: Burton aka Alex Good Energy, and I looked at his
- 3:47Speaker 4: page and I'm like, all right, cool. Yeah, he's a
- 3:49Speaker 4: cool dude. So I reached out to him and we
- 3:51Speaker 4: have him on the podcast.
- 3:53Speaker 3: So thank you.
- 3:53Speaker 2: When you're the voice, he said, Yo, this guy gotta
- 3:55Speaker 2: be from the York.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Yeah, t LV at Brooklyn. So so I'll give you
- 4:03Speaker 4: a quick background. So alex is a is a gurule
- 4:06Speaker 4: when it comes to the trucking industry. Has eleven eleven
- 4:08Speaker 4: trucks running right now, right here's eleven trucks. But more importantly,
- 4:12Speaker 4: he actually teaches people how to actually operate trucks and
- 4:16Speaker 4: the ins and out to the business. Because the trucking
- 4:18Speaker 4: in the show was telling somebody that the other day, Like,
- 4:20Speaker 4: at least for me, it's like, do they have a
- 4:23Speaker 4: college for that? Like how do you learn that? Like
- 4:25Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. It's like, yeah, you don't.
- 4:26Speaker 4: That's not something that's actually taught in school. Nothing is
- 4:29Speaker 4: stuff taught in school, but definitely something like that, like
- 4:31Speaker 4: you got to just go and just figure it out
- 4:33Speaker 4: on your own. So yeah, he's he's he's doing very
- 4:36Speaker 4: well for himself. And it's a very lucrative industry as
- 4:39Speaker 4: far as trucking industry. And and it's not just for
- 4:41Speaker 4: men either, women women making a killing. So you know,
- 4:44Speaker 4: you don't used to be a truck drive. But Lisa
- 4:46Speaker 4: Leslie's mother, did you know that? Yeah, Lisa Leslie's mother
- 4:49Speaker 4: one of the greatest NBA back w NBA basketball players
- 4:52Speaker 4: of all time. Her mother was actually a truck driver
- 4:54Speaker 4: in the statue form, shout out to her, Shout out
- 4:58Speaker 4: to her. So so yes, so once again, thank you
- 5:01Speaker 4: for joining us.
- 5:02Speaker 3: We appreciate you, legend having me.
- 5:04Speaker 4: You had a journey to get to this point, right,
- 5:07Speaker 4: and you started promoting parties. Yeah yeah, so all right,
- 5:11Speaker 4: can you can you give us a quick backstory on
- 5:14Speaker 4: the party promotion because I want to ask you about
- 5:16Speaker 4: this jagged edge story.
- 5:17Speaker 3: But I want to, I want to. I want to
- 5:19Speaker 3: lead up. I want to lead up to Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
- 5:21Speaker 6: First, even before the parties, Man, I was doing telemarketing.
- 5:24Speaker 6: You know, I was doing telemarketing. I was like my
- 5:26Speaker 6: first like real job. You know what I'm saying is
- 5:29Speaker 6: selling this product called Zmax. It was this this product
- 5:32Speaker 6: that you poured in your gas dance, you know, for
- 5:35Speaker 6: better few miles. Man, it was like a baller room
- 5:37Speaker 6: situation and you know it was cubicles, Me, my best
- 5:41Speaker 6: friend Jason, who's here, misters. Two weeks out, we was
- 5:44Speaker 6: literally sitting next to each other.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Man.
- 5:46Speaker 6: I think the base pay was like seven dollars an hour,
- 5:49Speaker 6: and then we got commissioned off of everything that we sold. So, man,
- 5:53Speaker 6: I did this job for about two years and we
- 5:55Speaker 6: was killing them.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Man.
- 5:56Speaker 6: We was probably making about a thousand dollars a week.
- 5:59Speaker 6: And then my boss, he was only two years older
- 6:01Speaker 6: than me, young dude, so you know, it was one
- 6:03Speaker 6: of the things where you kind of became kind of
- 6:05Speaker 6: cool with your boss and you got like a little
- 6:07Speaker 6: too comfortable with him.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And I think that, you know, he we had.
- 6:12Speaker 6: Our ups and downs in our relationship, and you know,
- 6:15Speaker 6: it was things that he felt like I wasn't doing
- 6:17Speaker 6: correctly and I was getting a little too comfortable at
- 6:20Speaker 6: the job. And then one day he fired me. He
- 6:22Speaker 6: said I missed a call. You know, he could monitor
- 6:24Speaker 6: all the calls in the call center. He said, I
- 6:27Speaker 6: was like playing with my phone or something like that
- 6:28Speaker 6: and I missed the call. That was his reason and
- 6:30Speaker 6: he fired me.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Man.
- 6:31Speaker 6: And I just remember like at that time, I had
- 6:33Speaker 6: just got my first house. I was just I was
- 6:35Speaker 6: renting the house with my cousin. He got locked up
- 6:38Speaker 6: and he needed somebody to kind of pay the mortgage
- 6:40Speaker 6: while he was locked up, So I was renting his house.
- 6:43Speaker 6: I had just got my first car, and this is
- 6:46Speaker 6: like my first time like having real bills, and I
- 6:49Speaker 6: was doing pretty well, you know, I'm like twenty twenty one,
- 6:51Speaker 6: I think at the time twenty two, and when he
- 6:54Speaker 6: fired me, it was just like a wake up call,
- 6:56Speaker 6: like he grabbed a rug up under my feet, you
- 6:59Speaker 6: know what I mean. Damn, Like I got these bills
- 7:01Speaker 6: and I wasn't really saving my money because I was
- 7:04Speaker 6: making a thousand dollars a week and back then, I
- 7:05Speaker 6: was a lot of money. So I'm thinking, like, you know,
- 7:07Speaker 6: I'm spending the money because I'm like, I got another
- 7:09Speaker 6: thousand dollars check coming next week, you know what I'm saying.
- 7:12Speaker 6: And long story short, after I got fired, I didn't
- 7:17Speaker 6: know what to do. I was like, y'a, I gotta
- 7:18Speaker 6: do something, but I just knew I wasn't gonna work
- 7:20Speaker 6: for nobody else. I just didn't like the fact that
- 7:22Speaker 6: another man had that much control over my destiny, you
- 7:26Speaker 6: know what I'm saying. Like it was a very uncomfortable
- 7:28Speaker 6: feeling for me. I felt very very uneasy at that fact.
- 7:32Speaker 6: So I didn't know what I was gonna do yet,
- 7:33Speaker 6: but I knew I was gonna do something. So I'm
- 7:35Speaker 6: literally just riding around Gwenett. You know, I was in
- 7:37Speaker 6: Gwennett County at the time, north Side of Atlanta in
- 7:39Speaker 6: probably thirty minutes from the city and the spot called
- 7:43Speaker 6: Carrobas they was doing construction.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I was my spot.
- 7:45Speaker 6: I walked up be in there and I met the
- 7:46Speaker 6: Asian guy who walked out. He was like, look, you know,
- 7:49Speaker 6: we about to build a nightclub, and you know this
- 7:52Speaker 6: is true story. He was like, yeah, we're looking for
- 7:54Speaker 6: promoters and I'm like, okay. He was like, are you
- 7:57Speaker 6: a promoter? And I literally I'll never forget it. I
- 7:59Speaker 6: was like, yeah, yeah, you know, because I'm from New York,
- 8:05Speaker 6: like at the end of the day, like Rustlings, you
- 8:07Speaker 6: know what I'm saying. So I seen the opportunity. The
- 8:09Speaker 6: club looked fly, and I was like, yeah, I'll give
- 8:11Speaker 6: it a shot, you know what I'm saying. I knew
- 8:12Speaker 6: I knew a lot of people. I was like, I
- 8:13Speaker 6: might be able to pull this off. So I literally
- 8:15Speaker 6: walked out the spot and I just called on my
- 8:17Speaker 6: friends like, look we go, I got a party. Now
- 8:19Speaker 6: I need you how to pull up. You know what
- 8:20Speaker 6: I'm saying, pull up, bring ten dollars with you in
- 8:21Speaker 6: two weeks, let's go. And you know, I'm just running
- 8:25Speaker 6: through it. Two thousand dollars, two thousand and some change
- 8:27Speaker 6: to my name. It was a hard game with for me,
- 8:29Speaker 6: like do I hold on to this little two grand
- 8:32Speaker 6: or do I go ahead and bet on myself? Right,
- 8:35Speaker 6: It's like, do I bet on myself and give it
- 8:37Speaker 6: a shot and depart from my last Uh?
- 8:40Speaker 2: You know, a bit of change.
- 8:43Speaker 6: Took five hundred, got some flyers, and I took another
- 8:47Speaker 6: two hundred, paid these little boys to pass them out
- 8:49Speaker 6: for me, and we we hit up the neighborhoods and
- 8:53Speaker 6: it was so funny. I told them, I said, look,
- 8:54Speaker 6: go hit all the doors in the neighborhood, like do
- 8:56Speaker 6: like the people do the Chinese menu right?
- 9:00Speaker 2: Come home and y'all even get past the gate, you
- 9:02Speaker 2: know what I'm saying.
- 9:04Speaker 6: And Yo, we told the whole city up man like
- 9:08Speaker 6: we plasted the whole city with flyers. Man grand opening
- 9:12Speaker 6: first night club in Gwenett County did the grand opening,
- 9:14Speaker 6: two hundred people showed up. Was a good night. Made
- 9:17Speaker 6: my investment back plus a couple of extra dollars.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I think it was. I made like thirty eight hundred
- 9:21Speaker 2: dollars that night.
- 9:23Speaker 6: And you know, but the grand opening hype was over
- 9:27Speaker 6: at this point, you know what I'm saying. Like we
- 9:30Speaker 6: was pushing that. Yo, it's the grand opening. This is
- 9:32Speaker 6: the first night. It was a big deal, you know
- 9:34Speaker 6: what I'm saying, red carpet. So I'm like wow. So
- 9:38Speaker 6: I decided to go to Buckhead and just do like
- 9:40Speaker 6: some market research and just try to get some ideas
- 9:42Speaker 6: of like you know what other clubs was doing, like
- 9:46Speaker 6: just try to pick their brain a little bit and
- 9:47Speaker 6: just see how they got things set up.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Man.
- 9:50Speaker 6: I went down the Buckhead and I was at this
- 9:52Speaker 6: club called Club Chaos on Monday nights, and the DJ
- 9:55Speaker 6: was like yo, Jaggiet Edges in the building, and I
- 9:58Speaker 6: walked up to him humbly like yo, like I love
- 10:00Speaker 6: y'all music. I got this night club. I would love
- 10:03Speaker 6: for you guys to come out there and you know,
- 10:05Speaker 6: host a party.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Remember which remember was this is Brian Brian one of
- 10:09Speaker 2: the Twins. Yeah, okay, Jay Hartbray one of my favorite
- 10:12Speaker 2: a ones all time. Absolutely, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:17Speaker 6: So I walked up to him like, yo, I just
- 10:19Speaker 6: to you know, i't even got to perform, just show
- 10:21Speaker 6: up please, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I'll give you half the door.
- 10:23Speaker 6: I don't really got no budget like that for you
- 10:25Speaker 6: and He just loved the way I came at him,
- 10:27Speaker 6: and he was like, look, we're gonna be out there.
- 10:28Speaker 6: He knew where it was at. He was like, I
- 10:29Speaker 6: got to check that liver on that street. I know
- 10:31Speaker 6: exactly where it's at. We're gonna pull up. He was like,
- 10:33Speaker 6: you know, it ain't gonna be the whole group, but
- 10:35Speaker 6: I probably come with my brother or something.
- 10:36Speaker 2: And I was like, I'm cool with that.
- 10:39Speaker 6: And I was so excited I literally left the club
- 10:41Speaker 6: and forgot to get his phone number. I forgot to
- 10:43Speaker 6: get his phone number on Yeah, I was beating myself
- 10:46Speaker 6: up on the way home that night. And but but
- 10:49Speaker 6: the way that my man like looked at my eyes
- 10:51Speaker 6: and told me he was coming, I took his word
- 10:53Speaker 6: for it, and I was like, you know, we're gonna
- 10:55Speaker 6: give a shot. I'm go ahead and promote it. So
- 10:58Speaker 6: it was a little uneasy, but I was like, I'm
- 10:59Speaker 6: go ahead and do it. So but got the big
- 11:02Speaker 6: flyers this time hit the hole. I mean we tore
- 11:05Speaker 6: the whole city up. I did ten thousand flies, big joints,
- 11:09Speaker 6: Jagged Edge grand opening, I mean not grand opening, but uh,
- 11:12Speaker 6: Dragged Edge is coming to Gennette. The night came, and
- 11:17Speaker 6: the night came, y'all, you know what I'm saying. And
- 11:20Speaker 6: I got there at ten o'clock. Line was already around
- 11:23Speaker 6: the building. When I got there, man, you know what
- 11:25Speaker 6: I'm saying, I ain't have enough security guards, but you know,
- 11:28Speaker 6: I was excited.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I'm like, I was going down.
- 11:30Speaker 6: I knew he was about to make some money this night,
- 11:32Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying. By eleven o'clock, the club
- 11:36Speaker 6: was almost filled up. Twelve o'clock we was at capacity.
- 11:39Speaker 6: Line is still around the building, and I just remember
- 11:43Speaker 6: it was so much money in the cash register. I
- 11:45Speaker 6: had to take the money out and empty it out
- 11:47Speaker 6: and go hide it in the back so that we
- 11:49Speaker 6: could have space in the cash register.
- 11:50Speaker 2: It was crazy.
- 11:51Speaker 6: And then twelve thirty hit, and then I just started
- 11:54Speaker 6: hearing whispers in the crowd like yo, man, jacket j
- 11:57Speaker 6: A coming in. Got us, Yo, he got us, Yo,
- 11:59Speaker 6: he's doing it got And I was like, Yo, should
- 12:03Speaker 6: I just take the money and run. You know what
- 12:06Speaker 6: I'm saying, This is gonna be it right here up.
- 12:09Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying. Yeah, And yo, man, Like
- 12:12Speaker 6: around one fifteen, this is when to see a less
- 12:15Speaker 6: Mercedes just came out, and you know, the g wagons
- 12:17Speaker 6: just started popping out on the streets. They just started
- 12:20Speaker 6: pulling up. It was like three of them, man, and
- 12:21Speaker 6: they hopped out. It was it was Brian and his
- 12:23Speaker 6: brother and they hopped in.
- 12:25Speaker 2: They hopped out.
- 12:25Speaker 6: We walked into the club and they had a good time,
- 12:29Speaker 6: and we did about seven hundred people that night, and
- 12:31Speaker 6: I ended up having a run for about three and.
- 12:33Speaker 2: A half years.
- 12:33Speaker 6: Man, it was one of the biggest parties on Thursday
- 12:35Speaker 6: nights in Atlanta.
- 12:36Speaker 5: At that moment, when you see him pulled up, you
- 12:38Speaker 5: was it like, yeah, I'm a man, I got this yo.
- 12:41Speaker 2: It was like seeing Jesus himself.
- 12:43Speaker 3: But let me, did you establish a date with them?
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:46Speaker 6: Yeah, they started seeing the fly.
- 12:50Speaker 2: That's what we're gonna be tonight.
- 12:51Speaker 3: So you told date, you know, did they perform or
- 12:54Speaker 3: he popped up?
- 12:55Speaker 2: He just wanted to buy the Hennessy?
- 12:56Speaker 3: How much? How mu? How much would you make that night?
- 12:57Speaker 3: You remember?
- 12:58Speaker 6: I think I made about five granted that night after
- 13:01Speaker 6: everything was paid.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Yeah, at that time, you you weren't Alex, you were Sincere.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:06Speaker 6: The reason I switched my name is Sincere. I just
- 13:09Speaker 6: liked how it signed for one I think the ladies
- 13:11Speaker 6: liked it. But another reason was because ag Entertainment. He's
- 13:15Speaker 6: the biggest promoter and I think in the country. Honestly
- 13:18Speaker 6: shot the ag entertainment for sure.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:20Speaker 6: Yeah, his name was Alex, and I didn't want people
- 13:22Speaker 6: confusing me with him, Like I didn't want people to
- 13:25Speaker 6: have to be like, Hey, which Alex the other Alex?
- 13:28Speaker 3: So I was just like, this is separate my So
- 13:30Speaker 3: I had nothing to do with belly.
- 13:32Speaker 5: That's what I was a nasa h He's Brooklyn dude,
- 13:37Speaker 5: so he might be a JA yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 3: For sure, shout to ask him.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Man, all right, cool, So all right, that's a crazy
- 13:47Speaker 4: story that you actually had enough courage to do that.
- 13:49Speaker 2: And I honestly like to cut you off.
- 13:51Speaker 6: What I want to say is that throwing that party
- 13:53Speaker 6: for those many years, that was like my first taste
- 13:56Speaker 6: of entrepreneurship.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:58Speaker 6: I went from working at a call center to now
- 14:00Speaker 6: I am running a full staff. I got security guards,
- 14:03Speaker 6: I got police offices, right, I got marketing people, I
- 14:07Speaker 6: got the door girl.
- 14:08Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. It was my first time
- 14:10Speaker 2: doing payroll, and I learned how to become a leader.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I learned how to.
- 14:14Speaker 6: Take initiative, right, and it taught me how to brand,
- 14:17Speaker 6: It taught me how to market. I had to convince
- 14:19Speaker 6: people to leave the city of Atlanta and come to
- 14:21Speaker 6: the country, Gwenett County and come party with me.
- 14:24Speaker 2: And we did that.
- 14:25Speaker 6: So it's a lot of I took a lot from
- 14:28Speaker 6: throwing parties, man, and it came full circle to some
- 14:31Speaker 6: of the.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Qualities that I have today.
- 14:34Speaker 6: Even a telemarketing spot, like I had to sell stuff
- 14:36Speaker 6: to people on his phone. You know this is before
- 14:39Speaker 6: people were hanging right up on telemarketers, right, But I
- 14:41Speaker 6: had to call people and convince them to go to
- 14:44Speaker 6: they whilet get their credit card and give me their
- 14:46Speaker 6: credit card number over the phone about this product that
- 14:48Speaker 6: they had never heard of before.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:51Speaker 6: So when you talk about like sales, like it really
- 14:53Speaker 6: turned me into a hustle, Like I had to eat
- 14:55Speaker 6: what I killed. If I didn't get them sales, we
- 14:57Speaker 6: wasn't eating. So you know, I tell people all the time,
- 15:01Speaker 6: like if you got a nine to five right now,
- 15:02Speaker 6: it's all good, but just use it as leverage, right,
- 15:05Speaker 6: take take take the good stuff from that, the skills
- 15:09Speaker 6: that you're learning, and be able to apply that into
- 15:12Speaker 6: something that works for yourself and that's what I did.
- 15:14Speaker 4: So on the one thing I like about you is
- 15:16Speaker 4: that you you weathered the storm. You got a lot
- 15:18Speaker 4: of lights up and down. Sometimes you sometimes you down.
- 15:23Speaker 4: So you had a good thing going in Atlanta and
- 15:26Speaker 4: then you went you took your talents to South Beach
- 15:29Speaker 4: and you was living and he was living a highlight
- 15:32Speaker 4: in Brickle. Yeah, shout out to Miami.
- 15:34Speaker 3: This is what year was that.
- 15:35Speaker 2: This is Lebron James.
- 15:37Speaker 6: This is around like two thousand and nine, ten, around
- 15:40Speaker 6: that time.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Okay, so he just got there. Yeah, I got there. Yeah.
- 15:43Speaker 6: So he went down there like three months after I moved.
- 15:46Speaker 6: I might be a little bit off on the dates,
- 15:48Speaker 6: but I just know when I moved down there. He
- 15:49Speaker 6: made the announcement about three months later.
- 15:52Speaker 3: So that was Live on Sunday and I whole vibe.
- 15:54Speaker 6: This is when, like you know, young Money was on fire.
- 15:57Speaker 6: They was living down there, and Live on Sundays started
- 15:59Speaker 6: blowing up, you know, and Lebron was down there, and
- 16:02Speaker 6: you know, it's when we went in championships, like, it
- 16:03Speaker 6: was a good time.
- 16:05Speaker 3: I noticed.
- 16:08Speaker 4: It was good energy. So all right, so you you
- 16:11Speaker 4: live in a high life out there. But you said,
- 16:13Speaker 4: like you wasn't broke, right, I'm gonna be real, man.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Like I went down there and I was living off
- 16:18Speaker 4: my savings, you know what I'm saying. I was like,
- 16:20Speaker 4: when I get down there, I got a couple of dollars,
- 16:22Speaker 4: I'm gonna figure something out on a network with some
- 16:24Speaker 4: people when I get down to Miami, and I'm gonna
- 16:26Speaker 4: be real with you man. And I know some people
- 16:28Speaker 4: might degree like, Yo, Miami, you either got already have
- 16:31Speaker 4: your bread together or you know, a lot of people
- 16:33Speaker 4: are doing the legal things out there, you know what
- 16:35Speaker 4: I'm saying. But I just couldn't find nothing to do,
- 16:39Speaker 4: so I would just you know, Miami, it's real easy
- 16:41Speaker 4: to spend the money out there. But if you already
- 16:43Speaker 4: already got like your relationships set up, if you if
- 16:46Speaker 4: you don't speak Spanish, yeah, it's gonna be a grind
- 16:49Speaker 4: to get that network up out there.
- 16:51Speaker 2: So yo.
- 16:51Speaker 6: I got down on my last after living down there
- 16:53Speaker 6: for about three years. Man, I got down to my
- 16:55Speaker 6: last five grand and I was like, wow, like, I
- 16:59Speaker 6: ain't gonna be able to stay down here, Like I'm
- 17:00Speaker 6: gonna have to go back to Atlanta, back to my network,
- 17:03Speaker 6: back to my friends and figure something out, you know
- 17:06Speaker 6: what I'm saying, And that's what I did. I moved
- 17:08Speaker 6: back to Atlanta twenty twelve. I moved back, and I'm
- 17:12Speaker 6: humbly speaking, I moved back with my mother.
- 17:14Speaker 4: So how is that for you? Because if anybody does,
- 17:16Speaker 4: it's not familiar. You lived in Brick right over.
- 17:18Speaker 6: The bridge, Yeah, in that area right there at the
- 17:20Speaker 6: Icon Brickle right there, my spot.
- 17:26Speaker 3: A lot of good memories in Miami.
- 17:27Speaker 4: So if anybody's not familiar, that's like, you know, the
- 17:29Speaker 4: whole vibe you see all the movies that's right on
- 17:32Speaker 4: the water. It's just living a high life, right you
- 17:34Speaker 4: got you know, beautiful beaches, beautiful women.
- 17:36Speaker 2: It's a whole lot of motivation.
- 17:39Speaker 4: So so you're living in it, I'm assuming you had
- 17:41Speaker 4: a nice spot, nice to condo, real nice. How humbling
- 17:44Speaker 4: was that to have to move back in with your mom?
- 17:47Speaker 6: It was the most humbling, the most humbling experience I
- 17:52Speaker 6: had to do.
- 17:52Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. This is when you know,
- 17:53Speaker 2: social media was just starting to power. For I'm gonna be.
- 17:57Speaker 6: Real, like I erased my social media and everything. They're
- 18:00Speaker 6: not gonna see me like this, you know, I'm real
- 18:03Speaker 6: talk like I was living on the top floor, you know,
- 18:05Speaker 6: a little one bedroom, real nice spot overlooking the water,
- 18:08Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying. And to go from that
- 18:10Speaker 6: to living back with my mother, it was definitely humbling, man.
- 18:14Speaker 6: But I told I said, I just need six months,
- 18:16Speaker 6: Like give me six months. Let me just work on
- 18:18Speaker 6: my credit again, let me get my credit straight, let
- 18:20Speaker 6: me save up a couple of hours, let me get
- 18:21Speaker 6: from one of these bills for a minute, right and
- 18:23Speaker 6: just get.
- 18:23Speaker 2: My head cleared out for a second. And I was like,
- 18:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna figure something, not just give me six months.
- 18:28Speaker 2: And my mom's you're making like I gotta sort.
- 18:32Speaker 6: I should have known, you said, flat Bush.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so you.
- 18:37Speaker 6: Know, I don't know what the American culture is like.
- 18:40Speaker 6: But my mom was glad to have me back. I'm
- 18:41Speaker 6: all that child like. She was excited, like, ah, you're
- 18:44Speaker 6: coming back. So she got my room, my old church
- 18:49Speaker 6: in the morning every day, so you know what I'm saying.
- 18:52Speaker 6: But I was like, my like, don't make me too comfortable.
- 18:54Speaker 6: I gotta leave, you know what I'm saying. But man,
- 18:57Speaker 6: I spent them six months just just figuring out what
- 18:59Speaker 6: I'm wanted to do next. And one thing I did know.
- 19:01Speaker 6: It was like, Yo, whatever it is is gonna be
- 19:03Speaker 6: for myself. I'm gonna continue being an entrepreneur. Getting a
- 19:07Speaker 6: job was just not even an option for me at
- 19:08Speaker 6: that point. And linked up with just when this dude
- 19:12Speaker 6: named Derek Man, you know, Derek hit me up like, Yo, bro,
- 19:17Speaker 6: let's let's go ahead and you know, go in on
- 19:19Speaker 6: a line of credit and jump into something, maybe a
- 19:23Speaker 6: restaurant or a barber shop or something. I was like, cool,
- 19:26Speaker 6: He's like, I got a couple of relationship with some banks,
- 19:28Speaker 6: you know, your credit straight, Let's go ahead and make
- 19:30Speaker 6: something happen. So we went and got a line of
- 19:31Speaker 6: credit for about forty I think it was like forty
- 19:34Speaker 6: fifty grand, and we went around looking at restaurants, looking
- 19:38Speaker 6: at buildings.
- 19:39Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. It was a big deal.
- 19:40Speaker 2: I was excited, like were about to get a restaurant.
- 19:42Speaker 6: But every time we would try to lock in on
- 19:45Speaker 6: the spots, something would fall through. The building, cold wouldn't
- 19:48Speaker 6: get approved, or it was just something right. Then we
- 19:52Speaker 6: started looking at barber shops, same thing. The just wouldn't
- 19:56Speaker 6: coming together. But during that whole process, I just kept
- 19:58Speaker 6: running in a people that was in the trucking industry,
- 20:02Speaker 6: you know, whether it was drivers, whether it was a
- 20:04Speaker 6: fleet owners. It was just like a coincidence. So one
- 20:09Speaker 6: dude hit me up. I don't want to see his
- 20:10Speaker 6: name because I don't know how far the things.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I don't want to you know, you know who.
- 20:15Speaker 3: You know, nobody's listening.
- 20:20Speaker 6: Yeah, but I ran into this dude man and he
- 20:23Speaker 6: was like, yo, I got this contract with the Post Office, right,
- 20:27Speaker 6: I got box trucks, and I got these lanes, and
- 20:30Speaker 6: if you get a box truck, I'll put you on.
- 20:33Speaker 6: And you know again, I'm from New York, I'm a hustle.
- 20:35Speaker 6: I'm like, yo, it's working, like okay, I didn't get
- 20:37Speaker 6: a truck. It was good. I woun't got me a trucks.
- 20:39Speaker 6: I literally took some of the money that we got
- 20:41Speaker 6: from a lot of credit. We went and got a
- 20:43Speaker 6: lot of went and got some trucks. Got one truck first.
- 20:46Speaker 6: It was a box truck. This is the twenty six
- 20:47Speaker 6: foot trucks like you can get from like U haul.
- 20:51Speaker 2: It's like the biggest truck.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Yeah's can you explain what a box truck is?
- 20:54Speaker 6: Yeah, so a box truck is Again, if you go
- 20:56Speaker 6: to U haul, you know, you're moving and you want
- 20:58Speaker 6: to move your own stuff. It's the big truck that
- 21:00Speaker 6: you can get is called a twenty six foot box truck,
- 21:03Speaker 6: so pretty much is like half the size of an
- 21:05Speaker 6: eighteen wheeler. Right, And these trucks, due to the weight,
- 21:09Speaker 6: they're not required by law for you to have a
- 21:11Speaker 6: CDL to drive them.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Right. You're only required to have a CDL to drive a.
- 21:16Speaker 6: Truck that's grossed over twenty six thousand pounds, okay, and
- 21:21Speaker 6: a bus too, right.
- 21:23Speaker 2: They have different levels of CDLs. So yeah, so these.
- 21:27Speaker 6: Trucks were, like, you know, not that expensive to get into.
- 21:31Speaker 6: So I was like, so I went and got what
- 21:33Speaker 6: we went at least one actually from penske Man. Let
- 21:39Speaker 6: me tell you something. So I hit my man up.
- 21:40Speaker 6: I'm like, yo, I got the truck. Was good, and
- 21:42Speaker 6: he's like, okay, then that was fast.
- 21:44Speaker 2: You know, me make a couple of calls.
- 21:45Speaker 6: I'm gonna reach out to my people and try to
- 21:47Speaker 6: get y'all on. I hit nothing back for like another
- 21:50Speaker 6: week or two. So I hit him back like yo,
- 21:52Speaker 6: it's good, and then he just stopped answering his phone.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Lose my number?
- 21:57Speaker 6: Yeah, pretty much, he just stopped answering his phone, like,
- 21:59Speaker 6: you know how you meet people like yeah, yeah, they
- 22:01Speaker 6: used to be talking though, like I got you and
- 22:03Speaker 6: put you on, but they won't be thinking that you series.
- 22:04Speaker 2: They think that you playing.
- 22:06Speaker 6: So here I am with this truck, with this box truck.
- 22:09Speaker 6: I don't know nothing about trucks, but I got a truck.
- 22:13Speaker 6: Note around the corner, right, We got insurance that we
- 22:15Speaker 6: just put on this truck that's around the corner that
- 22:17Speaker 6: don't stop.
- 22:18Speaker 2: How much did the truck cost we put down?
- 22:20Speaker 6: I think it was about six grand down on it
- 22:23Speaker 6: and it was at least and then we paid monthly.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Right, So is this truck like sitting outside your mom's cab?
- 22:30Speaker 2: Where's the truck?
- 22:31Speaker 6: We got parking lots for trucks, you know what I'm saying.
- 22:35Speaker 6: So here we are now, like yo, I don't know
- 22:38Speaker 6: what to do. But I was like I either had
- 22:40Speaker 6: a choice to either sink or swim, right, and I
- 22:44Speaker 6: decided to swim. So I went online. I'm on YouTube
- 22:47Speaker 6: how to run a trucking company. I'm on Google how
- 22:50Speaker 6: to run a truck and company. I'm literally up stressed
- 22:53Speaker 6: out trying to figure this thing out. And I found
- 22:54Speaker 6: out about something called the low Board. Low Board is
- 22:57Speaker 6: a database that has every single load coming in and
- 23:00Speaker 6: out of every city in real time. Okay, so you
- 23:05Speaker 6: can literally get on there and find the loads, negotiate
- 23:08Speaker 6: your rates, have your truck, go pick it up, deliver it,
- 23:10Speaker 6: and get paid.
- 23:11Speaker 3: What's what's what's the load?
- 23:13Speaker 2: A load is freight pretty much, it's freight.
- 23:17Speaker 6: Stuff that you're actually putting on the trucks and you're
- 23:19Speaker 6: getting paid to pick it up and deliver it.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:22Speaker 6: So I was like, Okay, this is not It's not
- 23:24Speaker 6: too hard. I could figure this out. You know what
- 23:26Speaker 6: I'm saying. Again, I did telemarket and I know how
- 23:27Speaker 6: to negotiate, right. We talk about getting certain skills from
- 23:31Speaker 6: the jobs. I learned how to negotiate and convince people
- 23:35Speaker 6: by doing the telemarketing. So I'm like, I'm on this board, like, yo,
- 23:38Speaker 6: I need this much for my truck.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Let's go. So I'm booking loads.
- 23:41Speaker 6: The money is starting to come in, and Yo, it
- 23:44Speaker 6: looked like everything was going okay until I started looking
- 23:48Speaker 6: at my spreadsheets a few months later, and I'm starting
- 23:51Speaker 6: to look at that and I'm learning what a balance
- 23:53Speaker 6: a P and L statement is.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Now I'm learning what.
- 23:55Speaker 6: A profit and law statement is now right, and I'm realizing, like, yeah,
- 23:59Speaker 6: the money is coming in, but it's going right back out.
- 24:03Speaker 6: And the reason why is because I'm not negotiating correctly.
- 24:07Speaker 6: Right here, I am coming from living with my mother,
- 24:10Speaker 6: you know, not making no money to now this dude
- 24:12Speaker 6: is offering me a thousand dollars for this load. But
- 24:15Speaker 6: the load is going from Atlanta to Virginia or or Boston, right,
- 24:23Speaker 6: so that thousand dollars after I pay fuel, after I
- 24:26Speaker 6: pay my driver, I'm doing. I'm running a nonprofit organization,
- 24:32Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying. Pretty much, I'm literally doing
- 24:35Speaker 6: a nonprofit, you know. But I didn't realize that.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yes you were. You were low bolling the negotiation every
- 24:40Speaker 2: time and not even.
- 24:41Speaker 6: On the wise, had called us crackhead express. You know
- 24:44Speaker 6: what I'm saying, My man, David said that yo running
- 24:46Speaker 6: loads for the load like you know what I'm saying, Yeah, yeah,
- 24:50Speaker 6: we might as well have been crackhead express man.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Whatever they is paying, we was taking it.
- 24:53Speaker 3: So then, so that that kind of fell apart right
- 24:55Speaker 3: for you.
- 24:55Speaker 6: Yeah, absolutely, After eleven months, man, we was upside down.
- 24:59Speaker 5: How many tries I said that time we jumped up
- 25:01Speaker 5: the five. I'm a hustle. I'm like, yo, it's working.
- 25:05Speaker 5: I'm seeing the money come in. Let's go ahead and
- 25:07Speaker 5: get some more.
- 25:08Speaker 6: So I'm up to five trucks down doing it all
- 25:10Speaker 6: the wrong way.
- 25:14Speaker 4: So when it fell apart, that was another major setback
- 25:18Speaker 4: for you, right, Like, how how did that happen? Like
- 25:20Speaker 4: when you realize I got to pull a plug on this.
- 25:23Speaker 6: When we was running out of money and we realized
- 25:26Speaker 6: we was in the hole deeper than we could get
- 25:28Speaker 6: out of. Right, So one thing that's important in business
- 25:32Speaker 6: is that you got to know when to exit.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Right.
- 25:35Speaker 2: You got to stop the bleeding. And I decided to
- 25:38Speaker 2: stop the bleeding. Right.
- 25:40Speaker 6: But people ask you all the time, like what made
- 25:41Speaker 6: you still give it another shot after you failed so terribly?
- 25:45Speaker 6: And I tell people all the time, I seen the
- 25:48Speaker 6: potential in the industry. I knew I just did something wrong.
- 25:52Speaker 6: So I took a whole another nine months off to
- 25:55Speaker 6: figure out what did.
- 25:55Speaker 2: I do wrong?
- 25:57Speaker 4: You said in and not because we're about to go
- 25:59Speaker 4: to the next seven when you gonna talk about the resurgence,
- 26:01Speaker 4: how you wrote it was like the phoenix, you said,
- 26:05Speaker 4: like you took not much. You ain't even get a
- 26:07Speaker 4: head cut or nothing like.
- 26:07Speaker 6: It was just I locked in. I was, I was
- 26:10Speaker 6: in the house, man. You know, I had a dog
- 26:12Speaker 6: at the time. The only time I left my house
- 26:15Speaker 6: literally was to walk my dog. And it'll be days
- 26:17Speaker 6: I forget to eat. Just doing research. I'm just I mean,
- 26:20Speaker 6: I think it personal. I'm like, yo, I'm not about
- 26:21Speaker 6: to just lay down like like, I gotta figure this
- 26:24Speaker 6: thing out.
- 26:25Speaker 2: And yeah, no haircut for six months. You know. I
- 26:28Speaker 2: call it the year to sacrifice.
- 26:30Speaker 6: Stop partying, stop going out, stop you know, just all
- 26:34Speaker 6: the way locked in. And I tell people a time like, yo,
- 26:37Speaker 6: you're not gonna get to it. You're trying to get
- 26:39Speaker 6: to without that sacrifice. It's something that you're doing on
- 26:42Speaker 6: a daily basis that's holding you back from getting to
- 26:44Speaker 6: where you're trying to get to it. You got to
- 26:46Speaker 6: identify what it is. Mons was just going out all
- 26:48Speaker 6: the time, partying all the time, you know, just not
- 26:51Speaker 6: just not having money management.
- 26:53Speaker 2: And so, yeah, that was the year of sacrifice right there. Thirteen.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Yeah, correct, that's so c as far as what you said,
- 27:00Speaker 4: as far as you just got to regroup sometimes and
- 27:03Speaker 4: it's difficult, it's difficult, but we about to go into
- 27:06Speaker 4: the next segment. Like I said, when we were gonna
- 27:08Speaker 4: talk about the good side, you end up all bad.
- 27:11Speaker 4: As long as you stay down here, you're gonna come
- 27:12Speaker 4: up event today.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Now you're going to the next segment.
- 27:17Speaker 4: All right, So we got the backstory, and you know
- 27:20Speaker 4: you stayed down till you came up, but we now
- 27:22Speaker 4: I want to I'm interested in it.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Come up.
- 27:23Speaker 4: So all right, you stayed in your mom's crib for
- 27:26Speaker 4: nine months, no haircut, just walk the dog, just on
- 27:29Speaker 4: some real will smith pursued happiness, just figuring it out,
- 27:33Speaker 4: all right.
- 27:34Speaker 3: So what happened?
- 27:35Speaker 4: Like you just had like an epiphany and it's like
- 27:38Speaker 4: I got it, Like what can you explain me how
- 27:39Speaker 4: you woke out of that darkness and re emerged to
- 27:42Speaker 4: the sunlight.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:43Speaker 6: So when I went out of business with the box trucks,
- 27:46Speaker 6: my sole purpose of my research was to identify what
- 27:49Speaker 6: I did wrong and apply the correct information to my operations.
- 27:56Speaker 6: And the first thing I realized is, like, yo, I
- 27:58Speaker 6: need to get the eight wheeler. Like the box trucks
- 28:02Speaker 6: is cool, but the eighteen wheeler's going to definitely like
- 28:06Speaker 6: open up my options.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Now.
- 28:07Speaker 6: It was so funny because when I would be on
- 28:09Speaker 6: the low board. With the box trucks, I would have
- 28:11Speaker 6: to do the search for twenty six foot, right, I
- 28:15Speaker 6: can only look for loads that would fill up the
- 28:17Speaker 6: twenty six foot of the trailer. But I would just
- 28:19Speaker 6: sometimes just get curious and like, h let me see
- 28:21Speaker 6: what the eighteen wheeler loads it like. So it'll be
- 28:24Speaker 6: like eighty loads available for box trucks with four thousand
- 28:27Speaker 6: loads available for eighteen wheelers, and I'd be like, man,
- 28:31Speaker 6: like them eighteen wheelers is eating. So that was the
- 28:33Speaker 6: first thing I realized during my research. It's like, yo,
- 28:35Speaker 6: I need to get.
- 28:36Speaker 2: An eighteen wheeler. So when I got the eighteen wheeling
- 28:39Speaker 2: and I started rolling with that one, it was.
- 28:41Speaker 6: Like night and day. It was like night and day,
- 28:44Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying. And you know, I learned
- 28:47Speaker 6: how to negotiate. I learned how to read the market.
- 28:50Speaker 6: I learned how to position my trucks.
- 28:51Speaker 4: So you said that before as far as all right,
- 28:53Speaker 4: so just to get the first eighteen wheeler, did you
- 28:56Speaker 4: finance that?
- 28:57Speaker 3: Did you lease it?
- 28:57Speaker 6: How do you my first eighteen wheeler. I was able
- 28:59Speaker 6: to get that for really cheap. This dude that I
- 29:02Speaker 6: know he was going through a divorce and I think
- 29:05Speaker 6: his wife is trying to take everything. He was like, YO,
- 29:07Speaker 6: just give me a price. I literally paid about seventy
- 29:10Speaker 6: eight hundred dollars first, it was a.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Nineteen How much does it cost, like on average.
- 29:16Speaker 6: For a good truck that you you know that we
- 29:18Speaker 6: recommend getting. It's gonna be anywhere from fifty to sixty thousand,
- 29:20Speaker 6: and that's brand new US about twenty sixteen, twenty fifteen.
- 29:24Speaker 2: All right, so use the truck. Yeah, but you always
- 29:26Speaker 2: only I got an old one.
- 29:27Speaker 3: You only recommend use trucks.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Right, yeah, yeah, absolutely?
- 29:30Speaker 6: Why because a brand new truck is gonna run you
- 29:32Speaker 6: upwards of one hundred something thousand dollars, right, and it's
- 29:35Speaker 6: going to get you the same results as a as.
- 29:38Speaker 2: A semi US truck. You know what I'm saying.
- 29:40Speaker 6: It's all about getting a truck that you know, the warranty,
- 29:44Speaker 6: you gotta go warranty on it, it's inspected. And if
- 29:46Speaker 6: you get you a really good used truck, it's gonna
- 29:48Speaker 6: get you the same results. But you're being able to
- 29:51Speaker 6: you'll be able to make your money back.
- 29:52Speaker 5: So between forty five to sixty for a used one
- 29:55Speaker 5: fifty to sixty how's the financing on that?
- 29:59Speaker 2: Is there a certain amount of to leave down to
- 30:00Speaker 2: get that type of show.
- 30:01Speaker 6: So it's just different ways. So if you're an investor, right,
- 30:03Speaker 6: if you don't have a CDL. By the way, I
- 30:05Speaker 6: don't have a CDL, never drove a truck before, don't
- 30:08Speaker 6: plan on driving. You're not trying to drive, you know
- 30:11Speaker 6: what I'm saying. That's why I got so much respect
- 30:13Speaker 6: for drivers is I don't do it.
- 30:15Speaker 2: I can't do it.
- 30:16Speaker 6: So as an investor, you're gonna put down an average
- 30:18Speaker 6: of about thirty percent down, right, thirty percent down is
- 30:21Speaker 6: what I've been seeing for the last few years with
- 30:24Speaker 6: you know these banks at the actual dealerships, right, there's
- 30:27Speaker 6: different ways that you can come into the game. You
- 30:29Speaker 6: could actually go through the truck dealership, right, and if
- 30:32Speaker 6: you go through that route as an investor, it's gonna
- 30:34Speaker 6: be thirty percent. But if you have a CDL, it's
- 30:37Speaker 6: gonna be a little bit less down let's say, around
- 30:39Speaker 6: fifteen to twenty percent. And the reason why it's less
- 30:42Speaker 6: for somebody who actually owns the CDLs because the risk
- 30:45Speaker 6: is a lot less for the banks.
- 30:46Speaker 2: They're looking at it like, hey, look.
- 30:48Speaker 6: If you're an investor you don't have a CDL, you
- 30:50Speaker 6: get a truck and you don't have a driver, there's
- 30:53Speaker 6: a higher chance that you're gonna default on your loan
- 30:56Speaker 6: because your truck's is gonna be sinning. Versus somebody who
- 30:59Speaker 6: has a CDL. They could actually just hop in their truck.
- 31:01Speaker 6: You can go generate some money to pay they notes.
- 31:04Speaker 6: So again, thirty percent is the average down on a
- 31:08Speaker 6: fifty to sixty thousand dollars truck for an investor with
- 31:11Speaker 6: no CDL, and about fifteen to twenty percent down is
- 31:14Speaker 6: the average that I've been seeing. If you have a CDL,
- 31:16Speaker 6: we call them own the operators due to own their
- 31:19Speaker 6: trucks and operate their trucks as well. What I recommend, though,
- 31:23Speaker 6: the best scenario as far as getting into the game
- 31:25Speaker 6: no is just having like decent credit and having relationships
- 31:28Speaker 6: with your own bank a credit union for example. Right,
- 31:31Speaker 6: some of these credit unions will finance you up to
- 31:33Speaker 6: one hundred percent, right, so you don't have to put
- 31:37Speaker 6: money a bunch of money down for the truck. So
- 31:39Speaker 6: in no scenarios you'll be looking at getting into the
- 31:41Speaker 6: game with about ten grand because now or you gotta
- 31:44Speaker 6: pay for is your insurance, damn payment, your license, your
- 31:47Speaker 6: dot numbers, your tags, et cetera. So that's the cheapest
- 31:50Speaker 6: way to get into the game is getting financing directly
- 31:53Speaker 6: from your credit union, just bringing them a bill of sales, like, hey, look,
- 31:56Speaker 6: this is the bill of sales. Can you guys finance
- 31:58Speaker 6: this truck You're gonna get you gonna get the best
- 32:00Speaker 6: interest rate through your credit union, and that's the best way.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:03Speaker 5: I did my first like two cars to my credit union.
- 32:05Speaker 5: It was just like they take the money right out
- 32:06Speaker 5: your check. So it's like you never have to worry
- 32:08Speaker 5: about it, and the interest rate, like you said, is
- 32:09Speaker 5: a lot lower.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 32:11Speaker 3: So you said, as far as okay, reading the market,
- 32:14Speaker 3: what does that.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Mean reading the market?
- 32:16Speaker 6: Like, okay, so the trucking literally changes every week, like
- 32:19Speaker 6: literally every week, Like Atlanta could be the hot zone
- 32:23Speaker 6: this week. As far as freak, when I say supplying
- 32:26Speaker 6: the man, I'm talking about loads.
- 32:28Speaker 2: To truck ratio. Yeah, I know what I'm saying.
- 32:32Speaker 6: So, like, for example, I think the last time I checked,
- 32:36Speaker 6: Atlanta had about thirty nine hundred loads and they had
- 32:40Speaker 6: about fourteen hundred trucks. Right, there's certain parts of the city,
- 32:45Speaker 6: right now Wisconsin is one of them hot right now.
- 32:48Speaker 6: Wisconsin had about I want to say, about five thousand
- 32:52Speaker 6: loads and like eight hundred trucks available in the last
- 32:55Speaker 6: business day. What does that mean to y'all?
- 32:59Speaker 4: Supply you're gonna be able to charge a higher amount
- 33:01Speaker 4: because it's not enough.
- 33:03Speaker 2: It ain' enough truck trucks out there.
- 33:05Speaker 6: So now we have all these shippers, all these shippers
- 33:08Speaker 6: that's fighting for trucks now, So what are they going
- 33:11Speaker 6: to have to do to make sure that.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Their load get to move paid top dollar? That's where
- 33:15Speaker 2: the negotiating power comes in. That.
- 33:16Speaker 6: So if you don't understand, okay, this week Atlanta, Virginia,
- 33:22Speaker 6: Tennessee is hot, I need to position my trucks up there.
- 33:24Speaker 2: If you don't know that, you're gonna miss out.
- 33:26Speaker 6: And that's what I specialized, and I specialize it and
- 33:28Speaker 6: know and knowing where to position my trucks at to
- 33:30Speaker 6: get that top dollar because all it is is connecting
- 33:32Speaker 6: the dots. We're going from one city to the next
- 33:35Speaker 6: city to the next city. Right So a lot of
- 33:38Speaker 6: times what I was messing up at is I would
- 33:40Speaker 6: just take the big, the best paying load going wherever,
- 33:43Speaker 6: not realizing that when I got there, it wasn't no
- 33:46Speaker 6: loads there, right, So I'm thinking like, Okay, I'm about
- 33:50Speaker 6: to eat on this three thousand dollars load, not realizing
- 33:53Speaker 6: when I get to Iowa, for example, right, I'm gonna
- 33:58Speaker 6: have to draw probably five hundred miles to get to
- 34:00Speaker 6: another good load. So now I don't put most of
- 34:04Speaker 6: my profit back into the fuel tank to get to
- 34:06Speaker 6: that next market. So it's not just about booking the
- 34:10Speaker 6: load that day, it's about looking at where the load
- 34:13Speaker 6: is going and what that market is looking like as well.
- 34:15Speaker 4: So you said it changes weekly. How do you how
- 34:17Speaker 4: do you know? Like it's like website how you.
- 34:20Speaker 5: Said something about trucks having seasons, Like how does that work?
- 34:23Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean we got peak seasons, we got slow seasons.
- 34:26Speaker 6: We got times where produces are is real high at
- 34:28Speaker 6: that time, and you know, like that's around April or
- 34:31Speaker 6: like July is produce season. You know what I'm saying,
- 34:33Speaker 6: The freight rates go up because it's more it's more
- 34:36Speaker 6: demand for trucks.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 34:38Speaker 6: But we have we actually have on some of the
- 34:40Speaker 6: load boards, we actually have a feature that shows you
- 34:43Speaker 6: all the hot zones in the whole country, so we
- 34:46Speaker 6: can literally go on there and see what's going on
- 34:49Speaker 6: in the market.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Right, anybody has access to those low boards or.
- 34:53Speaker 2: You have to.
- 34:54Speaker 6: You have to have an active authority in order to
- 34:56Speaker 6: have action. Your dot number there's a number that's on
- 35:01Speaker 6: the side of all the trucks and you have to
- 35:03Speaker 6: have that activated in order for you to have access
- 35:06Speaker 6: to that low board. So the general public just couldn't
- 35:08Speaker 6: go on and look at the lowboard.
- 35:10Speaker 4: They probably wouln't even understand it even if they did. Nah,
- 35:12Speaker 4: it's like reading Spanish.
- 35:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, it's similar to like a search engine
- 35:17Speaker 6: for like travelocity, like if you're traveling, it's similar to that.
- 35:20Speaker 6: But if you just knew nothing about it, you would
- 35:21Speaker 6: definitely need to get trained on how to actually operate
- 35:24Speaker 6: with it.
- 35:25Speaker 4: So you have like a map in your office where
- 35:27Speaker 4: you have like, Okay, I'm gonna go from Atlanta to
- 35:31Speaker 4: Philly to New York to Chicago, and this is gonna
- 35:35Speaker 4: like how do you calculate the math on it to
- 35:39Speaker 4: sit because like you said, that was a good point,
- 35:40Speaker 4: like you might it might be good money going to Idaho, Iowa,
- 35:44Speaker 4: but now you got to come back to Atlanta and
- 35:46Speaker 4: you don't really have any other stops in between, So like,
- 35:49Speaker 4: do you have a set idea, Okay, you need to
- 35:51Speaker 4: hit at least five stops Everywhere's it like five hundred
- 35:53Speaker 4: miles or something like that, or you don't do more
- 35:54Speaker 4: than five hundred miles, like fifty miles something like that,
- 35:57Speaker 4: or is that like a formula?
- 35:59Speaker 6: Or well, whenever I book it load and I brought
- 36:02Speaker 6: a couple here for example, just to show you, guys, right,
- 36:04Speaker 6: but whenever you book and load, it's important that.
- 36:07Speaker 2: You know how much more.

- 38:58Speaker 2: Need funny to be making after the load is complete.
- 39:02Speaker 2: So I just bought it. Like the load.
- 39:04Speaker 6: We're doing the load right now as we speak. One
- 39:05Speaker 6: of my drivers picked up below yesterday. Right the load
- 39:08Speaker 6: is picking up in Tennessee and Leverge, Tennessee picked up
- 39:12Speaker 6: yesterday on the twentieth and it's going to Franklin, Massachusetts,
- 39:15Speaker 6: delivering on Monday. Right, they're paying me twenty four hundred
- 39:17Speaker 6: dollars for that load, right, So when I look at
- 39:20Speaker 6: that load, I got to figure out how many miles
- 39:23Speaker 6: is from the origin to the destination.
- 39:25Speaker 2: So I did the math. It's about a thousand miles.
- 39:27Speaker 6: So now I got to figure out how much fuel
- 39:29Speaker 6: is it gonna take for me to complete that load?
- 39:33Speaker 6: So let's do the math be and this is the
- 39:35Speaker 6: formula that I teach my students. So we're gonna take
- 39:38Speaker 6: the rate that the load is paid. So we have
- 39:40Speaker 6: twenty four hundred dollars, right, and then I know that
- 39:44Speaker 6: it's one thousand miles. So I hadn't figure out how
- 39:46Speaker 6: much fuel am I gonna need to get this job complete?
- 39:49Speaker 6: So we're just gonna take a thousand miles. We're gonna
- 39:51Speaker 6: divide that by six miles per gallon, because that's the
- 39:53Speaker 6: average that each truck used six months. Yeah, you get
- 39:57Speaker 6: six eight miles if you got a good truck. But
- 39:59Speaker 6: I'm just gonna do worse case scenario, right, So divide
- 40:01Speaker 6: that by six. Right, So I know it's gonna take
- 40:04Speaker 6: me one hundred and sixty six gallons of diesel in
- 40:06Speaker 6: order to complete that load from Tennessee to Massachusetts. Right,
- 40:09Speaker 6: So what I'm gonna do is then times that times
- 40:12Speaker 6: the average amount of diesel the price for diesel, which
- 40:15Speaker 6: is about three dollars and twenty five cents right now.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Right, So that's showing me right there.
- 40:22Speaker 6: Out of that twenty four hundred dollars, I'm gonna have
- 40:23Speaker 6: to use five hundred and forty.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Of it on fuel just to get there and get back.
- 40:27Speaker 6: Right, So me personally, everybody pays eight drivers differently. I
- 40:30Speaker 6: pay my jovers a percentage, right, so I pay my
- 40:33Speaker 6: job is twenty percent of whatever that load is paying.
- 40:36Speaker 6: So just remember that number right there. So we're gonna
- 40:38Speaker 6: do twenty four hundred times twenty percent. It's four hundred
- 40:43Speaker 6: and eighty dollars. Remember that number. And then going up there,
- 40:46Speaker 6: we got toes. So I'm gonna say, I think going
- 40:50Speaker 6: up there is gonna be about one hundred and eighty
- 40:52Speaker 6: dollars in toes. Right, So if we do twenty four
- 40:56Speaker 6: hundred dollars minus was it five to forty?
- 41:00Speaker 2: How much does do you drive away? Eighty four eighty
- 41:04Speaker 2: minus one eighty and tolls?
- 41:08Speaker 6: Yeah, So we had eleven ninety nine on a profit that'sfit.
- 41:11Speaker 2: That's my profit that I'll see on Monday.
- 41:13Speaker 6: So she picked up the load yesterday, drove this will
- 41:17Speaker 6: up with you guys right now. My truck is driving
- 41:19Speaker 6: right now as we speak, right and by the time
- 41:21Speaker 6: I wake up on Monday morning, it's delivering at seven am.
- 41:26Speaker 2: She's going to deliver.
- 41:26Speaker 6: By the time I wake up, I'll be able to
- 41:29Speaker 6: get eleven ninety nine in my bank account about five
- 41:31Speaker 6: thirty PM. That's another thing about trucking that I love
- 41:34Speaker 6: is that it's liquid. Every single day I'm getting deposits
- 41:37Speaker 6: in our business account.
- 41:39Speaker 2: You know, I don't got to wait thirty days to
- 41:40Speaker 2: get paid. Right.
- 41:42Speaker 6: We pick up a load on a Monday, we deliver
- 41:43Speaker 6: on a Tuesday, We get paid on a Tuesday.
- 41:46Speaker 2: So at the end of the day, we have a
- 41:47Speaker 2: factoring company.
- 41:48Speaker 6: A factory company is a third party bank that literally
- 41:51Speaker 6: purchases our invoices from us. Right now, my volume is
- 41:55Speaker 6: so high. I started off at three percent. I'm down
- 41:56Speaker 6: to one percent right now. So I get charged one
- 41:59Speaker 6: percent to get paid the same day, and they wait
- 42:02Speaker 6: thirty days to get paid.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Does that make sense? Wow?
- 42:06Speaker 6: Right, So when you talk about people who are are
- 42:11Speaker 6: in other industries like real estate, or they do deals
- 42:13Speaker 6: where they need finance. You know how attractive it looks
- 42:15Speaker 6: to a bank to see daily deposits into your account.
- 42:21Speaker 2: When I go to my bank, they harass me. You
- 42:23Speaker 2: don't want the line of credit?
- 42:26Speaker 6: You sure you don't want to line the credit today
- 42:27Speaker 6: because I'm a lower risk because.
- 42:30Speaker 2: They seeing that you have money coming in, that daily
- 42:32Speaker 2: deposit coming in.
- 42:33Speaker 3: That's dope.
- 42:34Speaker 4: So all right, how do you get drivers? Like what's
- 42:38Speaker 4: the process to that?
- 42:39Speaker 6: Yeah, And that's the hardest part of our industry. Like
- 42:41Speaker 6: I'm not going to sit here and just tell y'all
- 42:43Speaker 6: the good part, right, you know what I'm saying. If
- 42:46Speaker 6: anybody just tells you the good part of anything, just
- 42:47Speaker 6: run away from them.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 42:49Speaker 6: That's the biggest obstacle in our industry. Why because we're
- 42:53Speaker 6: talking about the human factor right here. We're talking about people, right, personalities,
- 42:58Speaker 6: and with the drivers, they don't have to necessarily be
- 43:00Speaker 6: the most polished people. You know, we this is an
- 43:03Speaker 6: industry where we hire feelings, you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 43:06Speaker 6: you know, they don't have to have education.
- 43:08Speaker 2: It is what it is, right.
- 43:11Speaker 6: So the thing about drivers is that This is a
- 43:13Speaker 6: very challenging job. This job requires them to be away
- 43:16Speaker 6: from their families, right, This job requires them to be
- 43:20Speaker 6: driving at some times eleven hours straight. In the day
- 43:24Speaker 6: of drivers are only allowed to drive for eleven hours straight.
- 43:27Speaker 6: They're allowed to be on duty for fourteen hours they're
- 43:30Speaker 6: allowed and then they have to shut down for ten hours.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 43:34Speaker 6: Everybody can't drive for eleven hours straight every single day.
- 43:38Speaker 2: That stuff, right.
- 43:39Speaker 6: So I got so much respect for jobs, man, and
- 43:42Speaker 6: just shout out to you know, to the drivers out there, man,
- 43:44Speaker 6: like the world will stop without y'all. You know what
- 43:47Speaker 6: I'm saying. So I just got a lot of respect
- 43:50Speaker 6: for y'all. And that's why I treat my drivers really
- 43:52Speaker 6: really well, you know. And we're gonna get into the
- 43:55Speaker 6: portal and all that.
- 43:55Speaker 2: What I train on. But you know, I know sites
- 43:59Speaker 2: that I go on sites.
- 44:00Speaker 6: And I I put out an attractive ad.
- 44:03Speaker 2: That's the first thing I wrote it down. Man.
- 44:05Speaker 5: When I saw the ad, you were like, we're gonna
- 44:07Speaker 5: pay you more by accident than ever shorten you on purpose.
- 44:11Speaker 6: And I was like, wow, that's not even on my ad.
- 44:13Speaker 6: That's what I tell my driver is actually after I
- 44:15Speaker 6: get them. But I tell them all the time because
- 44:16Speaker 6: one of the biggest things when I'm doing these driver interviews,
- 44:19Speaker 6: I'm like, yo, why.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Did you leave your last job? Like what made you leave?
- 44:23Speaker 6: In eighty percent of the time, it's because they previous
- 44:25Speaker 6: employee was playing with their money. Right, That's the number
- 44:29Speaker 6: one excuse that I hear while drivers leave companies is
- 44:32Speaker 6: they playing with the money. So I tell them all
- 44:34Speaker 6: the time, like, look, I'll pay you more on accident
- 44:37Speaker 6: before I short you on purpose. It's my honor to
- 44:40Speaker 6: pay you. You're helping me feed my family. I don't
- 44:43Speaker 6: have a CDL. You know, we both got to roll
- 44:46Speaker 6: and play, So it's my honor to pay you and
- 44:51Speaker 6: just treating them with respect. And I don't treat them
- 44:53Speaker 6: like they work for me. I treat them like business partners.
- 44:55Speaker 6: You gotta roll the play, I gotta roll to play.
- 44:57Speaker 6: Your role is to make sure that low gets there
- 44:58Speaker 6: on time, right, safely and communication. And my job is
- 45:04Speaker 6: to make sure that your truck is safe, it's operating correctly,
- 45:07Speaker 6: the loads are there, and you get your paycheck.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:09Speaker 5: One of the things you do with your trucks is
- 45:11Speaker 5: you put extra equipment inside of the truck. Just any
- 45:15Speaker 5: event that there is something that happens. From a mechanical standpoint, maintenance, yeah,
- 45:20Speaker 5: is what it's called. It's not just about reacting when
- 45:22Speaker 5: the truck breaks down. Is how can I decrease my
- 45:25Speaker 5: trucks possibility of breaking down?
- 45:28Speaker 3: You know?
- 45:29Speaker 6: And and what I've shared with people is how I
- 45:31Speaker 6: was able to decrease my breakdowns about twenty one percent
- 45:33Speaker 6: in twenty nineteen.
- 45:35Speaker 2: This is the little things that I've.
- 45:36Speaker 6: Done, Little little little extra things that you can do
- 45:39Speaker 6: to just help help yourself on that road. You know,
- 45:42Speaker 6: whatever belt that your truck uses, right, you got to
- 45:44Speaker 6: all todate the belt. We got a AC belt. Just
- 45:47Speaker 6: put an extra set of belt in your extra set
- 45:49Speaker 6: of belts in your truck.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Right, keep any freeze, keep.
- 45:51Speaker 6: All in there, keep fuses, keep light bulbs, keep an
- 45:54Speaker 6: extra spare tire or two. Right, little fixes that can
- 45:58Speaker 6: have you shut down for five hours. Wait on the roadside.
- 46:00Speaker 6: If you already have the part there, it's gonna save
- 46:02Speaker 6: you some time and save you some money, save you
- 46:04Speaker 6: a lot of money. Right, they're gonna charge you just
- 46:06Speaker 6: to look at it.
- 46:07Speaker 3: So how do you all? Right?
- 46:09Speaker 4: So you have a truck, you have the whole operation,
- 46:11Speaker 4: you have drivers and all that, but you had to
- 46:14Speaker 4: have a product to move right. So is it most
- 46:17Speaker 4: companies like free lance or do you have set contracts
- 46:21Speaker 4: with the people long term?
- 46:22Speaker 3: Is it a combination of both? Like how does that work?
- 46:24Speaker 6: So when you first come into this game, you know,
- 46:26Speaker 6: the low board is pretty much your best friend at
- 46:28Speaker 6: that point, right when you when when you just freshen
- 46:30Speaker 6: the game, you gotta develop relationships. So the load board
- 46:33Speaker 6: is where we started off at the load board.
- 46:36Speaker 4: That's the website, right, that's the website, and what's what's
- 46:38Speaker 4: the web loadboard?
- 46:39Speaker 3: Dot com dot com.
- 46:41Speaker 6: D as we have we have the that board and
- 46:44Speaker 6: we have truck stop dot com. Okay, those are the
- 46:46Speaker 6: two big ones. So on this low board there's brokers.
- 46:52Speaker 6: You know, these are the people who have the lows
- 46:54Speaker 6: and we have to call and negotiate with, right. So
- 46:58Speaker 6: what I did was we just started doing We just
- 47:00Speaker 6: did good business, right. We stressed being all time, we
- 47:05Speaker 6: stressed delivering a good service. And what happened is we
- 47:10Speaker 6: would just be meeting all these different brokers every day
- 47:12Speaker 6: from booking different loads in different cities and then me personally,
- 47:16Speaker 6: I ended up doing this load that I really liked
- 47:19Speaker 6: It was a load that picked up in Georgia and
- 47:21Speaker 6: it went to Cleveland, Tennessee, and it was twice a day. Right,
- 47:25Speaker 6: you would pick up in Atlanta, you would go to Cleveland, Tennessee,
- 47:27Speaker 6: which is right there by Chattanooga's like two hours away,
- 47:30Speaker 6: two hours away, right, and they was paying us seven
- 47:33Speaker 6: fifty to go two hours away and back.
- 47:35Speaker 2: And we was doing it twice a day.
- 47:37Speaker 6: Okay, So we was generating fifteen hundred dollars a day,
- 47:41Speaker 6: going up twice and.
- 47:44Speaker 2: I loved it. Right. We did it for like a week.
- 47:46Speaker 6: It was like this project day was working on, right,
- 47:49Speaker 6: And then I looked at the numbers that week.
- 47:50Speaker 2: I was like, Yo, this is dope. So I hit
- 47:52Speaker 2: the broke up, like.
- 47:53Speaker 6: Yo, how often do y'all do these loas? He was like, man,
- 47:55Speaker 6: it's funny you asked that. Man, we just got an
- 47:57Speaker 6: extension on this project. We're gonna be doing this for
- 47:59Speaker 6: the next now months.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Wow.
- 48:01Speaker 6: Right, So I'm like wow, he was like, yay, you
- 48:03Speaker 6: know what. Maybe put We had like about five different
- 48:05Speaker 6: companies on this all load, but y'all actually executed the best.
- 48:09Speaker 6: Y'all communicated. Whenever something was a delay, you called me immediately.
- 48:12Speaker 6: You let me know what was going on. He was like, man,
- 48:14Speaker 6: with you, you know, how many trucks do you guys have?
- 48:16Speaker 6: Would you guys like to you know, do this full time?
- 48:19Speaker 6: And at the time, I think we was at about
- 48:20Speaker 6: five or six trucks. I was like, y'all give you
- 48:22Speaker 6: all my trucks. And man, when I tell you this
- 48:26Speaker 6: is two thousand and seventeen, we ran this load. We
- 48:30Speaker 6: ran this a load for the whole year, right, And
- 48:34Speaker 6: that was the year I really I was able to
- 48:35Speaker 6: level up on my cast.
- 48:37Speaker 2: That was the entire business. It was just where it
- 48:39Speaker 2: was that.
- 48:39Speaker 6: Yeah, they was moving one plant from Cleveland, Tennessee to Atlanta.
- 48:44Speaker 2: We was moving an.
- 48:45Speaker 6: Entire plant for a fortune five hundred company to Atlanta.
- 48:49Speaker 6: That nine months ended up turning into two years. Oh wow,
- 48:53Speaker 6: and then then it ended up turning into nine years.
- 48:56Speaker 4: Now, how profitable is is your business as far as
- 49:00Speaker 4: like truck or on average?
- 49:02Speaker 3: Like how how much can the truck make?
- 49:05Speaker 2: Right now?
- 49:05Speaker 6: And I like to underpromise and overachieve, right, I don't
- 49:08Speaker 6: like to give the high numbers.
- 49:09Speaker 2: I like to give the low ball numbers.
- 49:10Speaker 6: Right with the way that we do it, each truck
- 49:13Speaker 6: should be able to generate you anywhere from fifteen hundred
- 49:15Speaker 6: to three thousand a week take home.
- 49:17Speaker 2: After all expenses are paid.
- 49:18Speaker 6: That's what a truck that's not breaking down. That's what
- 49:21Speaker 6: a good driver, and that's what a full week of work.
- 49:24Speaker 6: We don't see any reason why you should be able
- 49:25Speaker 6: to at least take home about fifteen hundred dollars a
- 49:27Speaker 6: week per truck.
- 49:29Speaker 3: And of course you can have multiple trucks, and.
- 49:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a volume game after that, a volum game
- 49:34Speaker 2: after that.
- 49:34Speaker 5: That's how you got your trust, right the first truck
- 49:36Speaker 5: paid for the second time.
- 49:37Speaker 6: Money management is how you is how you scale up.
- 49:40Speaker 6: You know, I had to make a lot of sacrifices
- 49:42Speaker 6: in the first couple of years. And instead of when
- 49:44Speaker 6: I made my profits, instead of using the money and
- 49:46Speaker 6: buying frivolous things, I would just reinvest it back into
- 49:49Speaker 6: the company.
- 49:49Speaker 2: I would reinvest in new equipment. Right, and then when.
- 49:53Speaker 6: You jump up to four, five, six trucks, then the
- 49:56Speaker 6: money that's when it gets real crazy.
- 49:58Speaker 2: A fleet. Yeah you know what I'm saying. I said,
- 50:01Speaker 2: I've been doing this.
- 50:01Speaker 6: I've been doing this game for like but six years now,
- 50:04Speaker 6: and I just really started like buying stuff like this year,
- 50:09Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying, Like I just started really
- 50:11Speaker 6: like enjoying life and traveling.
- 50:12Speaker 2: I made my sacrifice. I reinvested in my company.
- 50:15Speaker 4: Right, that's the common that's the common theme for every
- 50:18Speaker 4: almost every one of our guests. Almost it's funny you
- 50:20Speaker 4: say that because literally we've had people from the music
- 50:22Speaker 4: and just people from real estate developers, trucking now and
- 50:26Speaker 4: the one common theme is exactly what you said, like
- 50:30Speaker 4: you got it's all money in, Like you gotta put
- 50:31Speaker 4: the money in, and that's something that it sounds simple,
- 50:35Speaker 4: but nobody wants to do that. As soon as you
- 50:37Speaker 4: get profit. People want to live off that on some
- 50:39Speaker 4: selfish like just go to the mall and just ball out.
- 50:42Speaker 4: And it's like that's not how it works. And it's
- 50:44Speaker 4: like you try to explain that to people and they
- 50:47Speaker 4: still don't understand.
- 50:48Speaker 6: You got to pay your dues. You gotta pay your dues, man.
- 50:52Speaker 6: And you know, like I said, this year, I bought
- 50:54Speaker 6: my dream car.
- 50:55Speaker 2: I went and what you call the sixty three cool.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Okay, I seen you to spending get that to you that.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Came with it, That came with it, y'all.
- 51:11Speaker 6: But yeah, man, you know we like we I paid
- 51:13Speaker 6: my dues. So like any success that I've seen, I'm
- 51:15Speaker 6: unapologetic for because I put it in the work for it.
- 51:18Speaker 4: Now, we never apologize about making a profit. That's what
- 51:20Speaker 4: we're in business for you in.
- 51:22Speaker 5: A business like you said, it's a seven hundred billion
- 51:24Speaker 5: dollar industry. Absolutely, and you're like, honestly, you're the first
- 51:28Speaker 5: person I know that's doing it.
- 51:29Speaker 2: It's so crazy.
- 51:30Speaker 3: Can I you first black person? For sure? For damn sure?
- 51:34Speaker 6: We are minorities in this industry. With minorities, Yo, we
- 51:38Speaker 6: tell you something. I went to Louisville, Kentucky. It's this
- 51:40Speaker 6: big truck show that they do every year in Louisville, Kentucky.
- 51:43Speaker 6: It's called a match Truck Show. Right, thousands of people,
- 51:47Speaker 6: I mean, they bring these trucks, is like tricked out trucks.
- 51:50Speaker 2: They got classes there.
- 51:51Speaker 6: It's the biggest convention in the trucking industry, right every year.
- 51:55Speaker 6: I went there last year and I'm walking through the crowd, y'all,
- 51:59Speaker 6: and I had a couple of my students with me.
- 52:01Speaker 6: It was all eight of us, right, and we played
- 52:03Speaker 6: a game. The game was how many minorities can you
- 52:06Speaker 6: find in this crowd? It's it's mind blowing how much
- 52:12Speaker 6: of a minority we are in this industry. And I'm
- 52:14Speaker 6: gona tell you, they just messed up and let me
- 52:16Speaker 6: figure it out.
- 52:21Speaker 4: That stuff letting me in, all right, all right, So
- 52:24Speaker 4: now we're gonna talk about how in the next seven
- 52:26Speaker 4: how you duplicated yourself in the educational component of what
- 52:29Speaker 4: you got. Now it's all you're spreading the message of
- 52:32Speaker 4: the trucking business and all of its benefits. All right,
- 52:35Speaker 4: So we're gonna go We're gonna go into what you're
- 52:36Speaker 4: doing now as far as educating people. But I just
- 52:38Speaker 4: thought I had a quick question for you before we
- 52:40Speaker 4: go into that. How has Amazon affected your industry? Because
- 52:44Speaker 4: has it affected.
- 52:45Speaker 2: It or not? Me? No, I mean Amazon.
- 52:48Speaker 6: I mean we ran a lot of lows for Amazon,
- 52:50Speaker 6: especially like earlier this year, last year. You know, it
- 52:53Speaker 6: hasn't affected me in a negative way. Okay, Yeah, I
- 52:56Speaker 6: think it's just making the industry bigger.
- 52:58Speaker 5: What about insurance, So like if you're carrying a little
- 53:02Speaker 5: and something happens to that truck, this is their insurance policy.
- 53:05Speaker 6: Or truck and we have a minimum insurance that we
- 53:09Speaker 6: have to have of a million dollars liability and on
- 53:11Speaker 6: each truck. Correct, Okay, million dollars and really that's for
- 53:15Speaker 6: the company. The company has a million dollar liability, right,
- 53:18Speaker 6: and then we have one hundred thousand dollars coverage on
- 53:21Speaker 6: our cargo.
- 53:23Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 53:23Speaker 6: So anything that's in our truck, like as far as
- 53:25Speaker 6: the freight goes, it's covered up to one hundred thousand dollars.
- 53:28Speaker 6: And then we have physical damage on the actual truck.
- 53:32Speaker 2: God, you know what I'm saying.
- 53:33Speaker 6: So whatever the truck costs, of the truck cost sixty
- 53:35Speaker 6: thousand dollars, we have physical damage in the amount of
- 53:37Speaker 6: how much that truck costs.
- 53:38Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, So we had a guess from Baltimore
- 53:41Speaker 4: on shot out to my man Derek Falcon, one.
- 53:42Speaker 3: Of our favorite guess. Yeah. He was a restaurant owner.
- 53:46Speaker 4: And one of the things that he says, you know,
- 53:48Speaker 4: they said, the average millionaire has seven streams of income.
- 53:50Speaker 4: But his theory was that I don't need to have
- 53:52Speaker 4: seven different jobs or seven different businesses to generate seven
- 53:56Speaker 4: streams of income. He's like, I could generate seven streams
- 53:58Speaker 4: of income from one restaurant. He's like, I can. I
- 54:00Speaker 4: could be a restaurant owner. I could be a consultant.
- 54:02Speaker 4: I could deliver food, I can give classes, do all
- 54:05Speaker 4: kinds of different stuff self merch. So I saw you
- 54:09Speaker 4: were speaking about the same thing, right, So you you
- 54:11Speaker 4: took the education component and turned it into a business
- 54:14Speaker 4: as well. So win when because you're educating people, you're
- 54:17Speaker 4: helping people, but you're also it's another form of revenue
- 54:20Speaker 4: as well. Right, So can we talk about how you
- 54:21Speaker 4: got into that because I know you started with just
- 54:24Speaker 4: private coaching, correct, and now that's kind of turned into
- 54:26Speaker 4: an online portal. Right, So yeah, can you talk about
- 54:29Speaker 4: the evolution of what made you want to take your
- 54:32Speaker 4: talents and said, Okay, I'm not just gonna be doing
- 54:34Speaker 4: it for myself. I want to you know, bring other
- 54:36Speaker 4: people and educate them.
- 54:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good question.
- 54:38Speaker 6: In twenty fifteen, you know, this is when I finally
- 54:41Speaker 6: started like making consistent profits. Right, This is when my
- 54:45Speaker 6: systems was working and it started things started becoming a
- 54:49Speaker 6: little bit more automated at this point, right. And I
- 54:52Speaker 6: just remember one day saying like, man, if only I
- 54:54Speaker 6: would have known in twenty twelve what I know now,
- 54:58Speaker 6: I wouldn't have lost all that money, right, I wouldn't
- 55:01Speaker 6: have lost all that time. So I was just sharing
- 55:04Speaker 6: like my journey on Instagram, like, Yo, you know, this
- 55:07Speaker 6: truck just did good. I just made this month this
- 55:09Speaker 6: amount on this truck. And people would literally hit me
- 55:11Speaker 6: up like hey, can you show me how to do that?
- 55:14Speaker 6: And I didn't know what to charge. I didn't see
- 55:17Speaker 6: anybody else doing it, but I was like, okay, I
- 55:19Speaker 6: got to come up with something just for my time.
- 55:21Speaker 6: So my first client, Dana, she was an attorney. She
- 55:25Speaker 6: came up under Johnny cochran Man. She was like, hey, Alex,
- 55:28Speaker 6: I'm very interested in getting into the industry. Like how
- 55:30Speaker 6: much can I just pay you just to spend a
- 55:32Speaker 6: couple of hours with you? And I was like, yo,
- 55:34Speaker 6: we can do fifteen hundred. And that was my first
- 55:36Speaker 6: client and it's on my page to this day on Instagram.
- 55:40Speaker 2: No, just to stay with.
- 55:42Speaker 6: Her, yeah, walk her through how to start her company
- 55:47Speaker 6: and show her the low boarder oh nine.
- 55:49Speaker 2: So it's on my Instagram to this day.
- 55:53Speaker 6: We were sitting in the office just like this and
- 55:54Speaker 6: I was showing it to her and she got up
- 55:57Speaker 6: and running. I think she had like four trucks now,
- 55:59Speaker 6: but I just remember the feeling that I felt watching
- 56:01Speaker 6: her go from not knowing anything about truck into now
- 56:05Speaker 6: she's running it on her own. She's calling me excited, Hey,
- 56:07Speaker 6: I just made this this week.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Da da da da.
- 56:09Speaker 6: Da, And I like kind of felt so when I
- 56:12Speaker 6: shared her story on my Instagram that I was getting
- 56:14Speaker 6: a couple more DM, It's like, yo, I see what
- 56:17Speaker 6: you did for a girl. You think you got y'all
- 56:18Speaker 6: got a couple dollars, and you do the same thing
- 56:19Speaker 6: for me. So then I'm like, okay, cool. So that
- 56:22Speaker 6: one client turned into like four to five clients, and yo,
- 56:27Speaker 6: it literally started going crazy after that, and then I
- 56:31Speaker 6: looked up. I was at like forty clients by like
- 56:33Speaker 6: twenty seventeen. But I was just being transparent and just
- 56:36Speaker 6: sharing with the public, like, yo, I just put James
- 56:39Speaker 6: in business. I just put her in business. I just
- 56:42Speaker 6: it just started. It just kept coming. So I went
- 56:43Speaker 6: from fifteen hundred to twenty five hundred a client. Then
- 56:47Speaker 6: I went to thirty five hundred a client, and then
- 56:50Speaker 6: when I looked up and I had a six month
- 56:52Speaker 6: waiting list, I was like, man, I gotta go up
- 56:54Speaker 6: some more, you know what I'm saying. So by yeah,
- 56:58Speaker 6: So by the end of twenty seventeen, I was ten
- 57:00Speaker 6: thousand dollars a client. I was a ten thousand dollars
- 57:02Speaker 6: a client and by last March I had to wait
- 57:04Speaker 6: and listen till Christmas.
- 57:06Speaker 3: How many clients did you have at ten thousand?
- 57:08Speaker 6: I probably did about twenty clients at ten thousand, and
- 57:11Speaker 6: I had to wait and listen till Christmas last March
- 57:14Speaker 6: or people don't stand by because I would only take
- 57:16Speaker 6: a certain amount of clients per month just to make
- 57:19Speaker 6: sure that I didn't stretch myself too thin and I
- 57:21Speaker 6: didn't leverage my service the quality. And I met a
- 57:26Speaker 6: guy you guys might normal god by the name of
- 57:28Speaker 6: Eric Thomas E. T. The hip hop preacher, you know,
- 57:31Speaker 6: just like y'all. I had been watching him on YouTube
- 57:33Speaker 6: for years, you know what I'm saying. And he was
- 57:36Speaker 6: doing a cruise last March, and I had never seen
- 57:39Speaker 6: him speaking person before, like when I had went out
- 57:41Speaker 6: of business.
- 57:41Speaker 2: That's why I was.
- 57:42Speaker 6: Listening to to keep me motivated to even give it
- 57:44Speaker 6: another shot. And yo, I paid the money. The cruise
- 57:48Speaker 6: was like five grand, and you know, it was like
- 57:51Speaker 6: six months out and I was like, I'm going ahead
- 57:53Speaker 6: to make this investment just to go get some motivation, right,
- 57:56Speaker 6: And I went on this cruise. Man, it was going
- 57:58Speaker 6: to send Martin and sent Thomas and mohamm was. I
- 58:00Speaker 6: went on the cruise and I ended up meeting you know,
- 58:03Speaker 6: his crew behind the scenes. I ain't really go there
- 58:05Speaker 6: to take no picture with him and all that other stuff.
- 58:07Speaker 6: I just literally went there just to get just to
- 58:09Speaker 6: get the information man. And I ended up meeting CJ.
- 58:12Speaker 6: CJ is right here, man. That really the brains behind
- 58:15Speaker 6: every time it's in associates and you know, sitting down
- 58:18Speaker 6: at dinner one night, he was like, hey, what do
- 58:19Speaker 6: you doing.
- 58:19Speaker 2: I just told him what I did, and he loved it.
- 58:21Speaker 6: He was like, yo, I've heard about people in real
- 58:23Speaker 6: estate doing seminars and teaching. He was like, but I
- 58:25Speaker 6: ain't never seen nobody doing it for the transportation industry.
- 58:29Speaker 6: He was like, Yo, this is uncharted territory right here.
- 58:31Speaker 6: He was like, so you're doing one on ones though,
- 58:33Speaker 6: I was like yeah. He was like, what are you
- 58:34Speaker 6: doing with these one on ones? I'm like, yeah. I
- 58:36Speaker 6: go to the dealership with them, right. I helped them
- 58:38Speaker 6: pick the right truck, I helped them hire the drivers.
- 58:42Speaker 6: I do conference calls with hiring drivers with them. I
- 58:44Speaker 6: go down there with my mechanics. We inspect the trucks
- 58:47Speaker 6: to make sure that they're not buying no BS trucks.
- 58:49Speaker 6: Like I'm holding eight hands. He was like, damn bro,
- 58:51Speaker 6: He's like, yo, that's dope. He said, you got a
- 58:53Speaker 6: waiting list to win. He says, you know why, because
- 58:56Speaker 6: you have it duplicated yourself. He said, in order for
- 58:58Speaker 6: you to take it to the next level, in order
- 58:59Speaker 6: for you to ski your information, you have to put
- 59:02Speaker 6: this information online. And I was terrified. I'm like online
- 59:06Speaker 6: like he was like yeah. I was like, I don't
- 59:08Speaker 6: know if that's gonna work. I do one on one.
- 59:10Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying, like this is this is
- 59:12Speaker 6: a person for me. I don't want to just put
- 59:13Speaker 6: it out there and people be He's like, now you
- 59:15Speaker 6: have to put it online. He was like, look, this
- 59:17Speaker 6: is what you do. Doo to do, record the videos,
- 59:19Speaker 6: create the PDFs, let me know what you're done.
- 59:22Speaker 2: And you're not even immediately said you're not even a computer.
- 59:24Speaker 6: I'm not a computer person. So that's what that was.
- 59:26Speaker 6: The really intimidating part is because I'm like, look, I'm
- 59:28Speaker 6: not even a computer person, so just how is this
- 59:30Speaker 6: gonna work. But I listened to him. I went and
- 59:35Speaker 6: locked in for about four months. Man me and Batist
- 59:37Speaker 6: we went and locked in and we put the another sacrifice,
- 59:41Speaker 6: another four months of sacrifice, locked in, right created the content.
- 59:45Speaker 6: I hit CJ up four months later, like, yo, I
- 59:48Speaker 6: got it.
- 59:48Speaker 2: It's done. He's like, yo, pull up on me. Let
- 59:50Speaker 2: me see it.
- 59:51Speaker 6: When he saw the content and he's seen how I
- 59:52Speaker 6: laid it out, he was like, Yo, not only am
- 59:55Speaker 6: I going to show you how to put this online,
- 59:57Speaker 6: I want you to put it on our platform. We're gonna,
- 59:59Speaker 6: We're gonna and we're gonna put it out on Breeve University.
- 1:00:02Speaker 6: So now we launched our platform and it's so funny.
- 1:00:07Speaker 6: You know, the dude that I've been looking up to
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: for five years, I'm now in business with him now,
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: and it's just it's just an amazing Is that the
- 1:00:13Speaker 6: master of the game. Now, that's that's something different. I'll
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: tell you about that next. Ye that's something different. So
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: we launched our trucking Digital training Portal on October fifth
- 1:00:23Speaker 6: of last year, and it's a step by step guide,
- 1:00:27Speaker 6: like you know when I tell people are time, Like
- 1:00:29Speaker 6: when I had first got into the game. Yeah, this
- 1:00:31Speaker 6: information on YouTube, yeah, this information on Google, right, but
- 1:00:35Speaker 6: the information is scattered. I was like, I need, we
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: need to create a chronological order of how to not
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: only get into this business, how to structure your business,
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: but also once you're up and running, how to operate properly,
- 1:00:50Speaker 6: how to maximize profits, but most importantly, how to stay
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: in business.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Right. So the course.
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: Literally walks you from A to Z A to Z
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: on how to do everything. And it's a combination of
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: videos and PDFs because people learn differently. You got some
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: people that learn better from visualizing, to some people that
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: learn better from hearing, and some people that learn better
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: from reading.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: So we have all three fixes in this portal, man.
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: And my goal, really, man, when we launched it October
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: last year, was just to get about fifty people. I
- 1:01:20Speaker 6: didn't want to even put too much marketing behind it.
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: I just wanted to just kind of like put it
- 1:01:23Speaker 6: out there to my network, get a couple of people
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: in there, and if there was any kinks, be able
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: to tweak a little, you know, some things and add
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: some things in there, and then go ahead and go
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: crazy with it. So the goal was fifty for the
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: first half of the launch, and we ended up doing
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: three hundred and fifty people signed up within the first
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: nine months.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: Oh wow. So, so.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: As far as people that are.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: Who would want to be in the courts, people that
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: want to get into the truck and industry obviously, but
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: people that have experience already and didn't work out, or
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: people that kind of put their tone in. People that
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: have no experience, have no ideas like one on one,
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: one on two, one on three, like what's the level?
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: All the above, okay, all the above, everything you just said.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: This now is my clientele.
- 1:02:08Speaker 6: Somebody who knows nothing about trucking, you know, has some
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: funds that they're trying to invest. I don't necessarily want
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: to drive, want to create a passive income situation.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: It's for that client.
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: It's for the It's for the client who was already
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: in business, but they're not reaching them full potential. They're
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: not making what they feel like they should be making.
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: It's certain things that they need to tighten up on.
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: It's for them as well.
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: So, like as far as putting together the online course, right,
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: how do you do that? Like you made the video
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: and then you had the slides, Like you do that yourself?
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Or you worked with.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Somebody, Yeah, me and batist Man.
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: You know, my thing is this and this is what
- 1:02:44Speaker 6: I felt about my life overall. I don't have asked
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: on nothing that I do in life. So I was like,
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: if I'm gonna do this, it got to be done right, right.
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: So I created all the content and I had shot
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: the will shot the canny man. They flew in from
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: Michigan and it's actually the people who do the videos
- 1:03:01Speaker 6: for ET and them. It's a whole camera who came
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: to my office and they filled me. They spent three
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: days with me, and I just recorded all the content, right.
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: Fatise did all the PDFs, structured it real clear, real digestible,
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: and we uploaded it into b University. And the platform
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: that we use is probably the best platform out there
- 1:03:20Speaker 6: as far as online training. It's the same platform that
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: Damon John, Tony Robbins, you know all the short ten
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: guys use, right, So it's very platformance. It's called light
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: Speed Bike Speed Yeah. It's called light Speed yeah yeah.
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: And I invested a lot of money and they're creating
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: it to make it look like the way it looks.
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: It's not a small ticket item. The courses two thousand right.
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: We have two packages. We have a ninety day package
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: that gives them access to all the courses for ninety days,
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: because it shouldn't take you more than three months to
- 1:03:47Speaker 6: get up and running if you're serious. And then we
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: have our monthly Mastermind package that gives you everything in
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: the first package, all the courses, but this one adds
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: our Mastermind calls. So every other Tuesday, I'm hopping on
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: the line with our members on Zoom. It's a video chat,
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: and we discussed different topics and trucking. You know, we
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: discussed all it's filling in all the gaps of the course.
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: So it's a sixty or a ninety minute call and
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: we're discussing. I'm doing a presentation of the actual topics.
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: So one week we talked about truck financing. Second week
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: we talked about insurance options. Another week we talked about
- 1:04:21Speaker 6: finding and keeping good drivers. I remember that call. We
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: had actual real drivers on the line giving insight on
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: what made them apply for a job, right, what made
- 1:04:30Speaker 6: them want to stay with a company, what made them
- 1:04:32Speaker 6: leave a company?
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:04:33Speaker 6: Just giving future fleet owners insight to become better owners
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: from the drivers.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: So right now there's about twenty seven calls that we've
- 1:04:42Speaker 6: done so far. There's twenty seven hours worth of calls
- 1:04:45Speaker 6: that people who sign up today on the portal will
- 1:04:48Speaker 6: be able to go back and listen to, and it'll
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: also be able to join us live on our upcoming call.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: So you create more content, more content, more constantly. How
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: many people are on.
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: These calls, it averages anywhere from like eighty one hundred
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: people right now because everybody didn't sign up for the month.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: You've got some people that just got the ninety days.
- 1:05:04Speaker 6: And the thing about it is you could actually sign
- 1:05:06Speaker 6: up for the ninety day and then on day eighty
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: nine you can upgrade into the Mastermind and then pay
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: one ninety nine a month and it's no contract. You
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: can cancel it anytime. And yeah, it's pretty dope, man.
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: So what's your vision as far as where you want
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: to take it as far as your personal brand business
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: and also the education. You want to continue to grow both,
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: or you just want to focus on education and not
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: really your personal Like what do you see only above?
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Man?
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: At the end of the day, I want this portal.
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: This portal will be and it is the holy Bible,
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: Man of the transportation industry. Meaning that we've covered everything
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: from A to Z. If you're trying to come into
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: this industry, you must go through this portal and get educated,
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: because it's education before compensation.
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: Education before conversation. That's a fact. That's a fact.
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: People trying to skip steps and not properly educate themselves
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: in life, and that's where you make mistakes because you
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: just jumping out. And that's one of the reasons why
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: we started this podcast is we feel like, you know,
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: a lot of times, especially in our community, we don't
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: we don't have mentorships, we don't we're not properly educated.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: That's why you make a lot of mistakes. And you
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: just kind of just how you made a mistake when
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: you first started. You didn't you didn't have a mentorship,
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: you didn't know what we was doing.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: I wish it was a portal back into that.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: It makes it a lot easier.
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: And a lot of times people skim on important things,
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: so they'll spend money on items that they don't need,
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: but the items that they actually do need then they're
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: cheap on. So education is something that you should never
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: be cheap about. Absolutely, and we can never apologize for
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: using our talents and our platforms to educate people and
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: to get compensated for that. That college is doing it
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: all the time, and there's no backlash with that. You
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: go to Harvard, you're gonna pay three hundred thousand dollars
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: over the course of four years, but you're getting properly
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: educated and you'll be able to be an investment banker.
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: Your program, you pay, but you're going to be educated
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: on the trucking industry.
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: So it's gonna save you time and it's gonna save
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: you money. And you know, I brought what even one
- 1:07:05Speaker 6: of my clients are first loads. They just ran a
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: couple of weeks ago. You know, his first low was
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: from Wisconsin to Massachusetts. It was a twenty eight hundred
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: dollars load. After he paid his driver, his expenses, he
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: damned and made what he spent on my portal his
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: first load.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:07:24Speaker 6: But now, but this portal was teaching you guys how
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: to fish. I'm teaching you how to book loads. I
- 1:07:28Speaker 6: don't teaching you how to make money for the rest
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: of your life. What's two thousand dollars to learn something
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: that's going to show you how to make money forever?
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: It's fat. You know what I'm saying. You're not like
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: you said, you're not.
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: You're not selling them how you're selling them your mistakes,
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: right like hopefully you have to go through it.
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: Yeah, you're paying for my mistakes if you if you
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: take my class and you avoid making something that will
- 1:07:49Speaker 6: cause you to lose five six thousand dollars, you already
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: major investment. Back all my resources, everybody that I do
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: business with that runs my fleet, from my dealerships where
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: I get my trailers, from my insurance companies, my factory companies.
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: I've literally turned over all my resources to my students
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: on the portal. So now you ain't got to google nobody.
- 1:08:06Speaker 6: Everybody that you need to run your company, I've given
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: you their direct phone numbers on the portal. All you
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: gotta do is just follow the blueprint. Let me say this,
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: I am not the most our richest fleet owner. I'm
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: not the biggest trucking company out here, right, But the
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: companies that are bigger than me and richer than me,
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: they're not sharing that blueprint.
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: That's the difference, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, that
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: was one of the things we mentioned this before. But
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: Maverick Carter was saying, like, when people become successful, the
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: number one thing they want to do is tell you
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: how they have become successful.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: And that's exactly what you're doing right.
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: So like some people say, like, Yo, we need a
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: mentor and that's vital, Like You're like, you can have
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: a mentor. But I'm telling you right here, this is it.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: You should be doing this because I made those mistakes earthly.
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: Absolutely, And I get that question a lot, like, Yo,
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: why you do you feel like you're creating competition?
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Right? Like you show people the sauce, like is it
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: possible to check competition?
- 1:09:00Speaker 6: I said, well, all the time, like you'll never be
- 1:09:02Speaker 6: able to get on the highway, and I see the
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: eighteen wheeler.
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: Exactly and also a shot shots of my man Fernando,
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: lord of the Slum's legendary real estate invested in. Guy's
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: a legend And he came on our podcast and he
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: said he gave his whole blueprint and he's not even
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: selling anything. And he said he was like Michael Jordan's
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: show you how to play basketball, He's still Michael Jordan.
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: Tyger Woods could show you how to swing it, it
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: doesn't He's still Tiger Woods. Like you know what I'm saying,
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: Like people have a misconception sometimes that if I educate
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: somebody that takes away. No, I'm still gonna get money regardless.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: Just because you get money, it's enough for everybody to eat.
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: I know what I'm saying, seven hundred billion, you're gonna
- 1:09:38Speaker 6: get one hundred trucks and it was still won't affect
- 1:09:41Speaker 6: my boxy, you know what I'm saying. So it definitely
- 1:09:43Speaker 6: helps me, you know, show people because I don't. I
