deepens the topics discussed on the portal. I'm
• 1:01
with the journalist Enzo Mauri, who introduces
• 1:04
the today's topic. Good morning, today I'm talking
• 1:07
to you about a TV series a bit unfortunate. The
• 1:09
singular destiny of the Manimal TV series, broadcast
• 1:12
in 8 episodes from NBC in September 1983 and
• 1:16
stonked on birth for a small degree, was to have
• 1:19
become a cult in the following years, produced
• 1:22
by Gley and the Larson, one of the most important
• 1:25
American TV producers of the past, on Battlestar
• 1:29
Galactica, Magnum P .I., Supercar, among many
• 1:31
others, the TV series Manimal immediately revealed
• 1:34
  a glamorous flop. 8 -1 -2 -2 -5 -8 -7 -7, Papa

• 1:41
I know it was him, they must have exchanged them
• 1:43
somewhere between here and the track. Calm down
• 1:45
miss, everything will be fine. The pilot episode
• 1:48
of Manimold lasted about an hour, where it appeared
• 1:51
as guest star Ursula Andress, was broadcast on
• 1:54
September 30, 1983. The other four episodes of
• 1:57
Manimold went on air after two weeks, then the
• 2:00
series was interrupted due to the low ratings.
• 2:03
The remaining three episodes of Manimold, of
• 2:05
the total eight, were later programmed in the
• 2:08
desperate attempt to recover praise, but it was
• 2:11
of no use. On December 17, 1983, after the last
• 2:15
episode, the series disappeared. of the television
• 2:16
palmesesti. Manimal tells the story of Dr. Jonathan
• 2:34
Chase, the actor Simon McCorkindale, animal behavior
• 2:37
science expert at the University of New York.
• 2:41
During a trip to Africa with his father, the
• 2:43
young Chase inherits the ability to transform
• 2:45
into any animal form. Once an adult, Jonathan
• 2:49
Chase decides to use his abilities to fight crime.
• 2:52
Only two people are aware of his secret, the
• 2:55
detective of the police Brooke McKenzie, the
• 2:57
actress Melody Anderson who falls in love with
• 2:59
him, and the friend Iron Tye C. Earl, the actor
• 3:03
Michael D. Roberts. Ah, how could you? In full
• 3:06
on a call. It's the fault of the stairs. No,
• 3:08
no, nothing at all. It's an old call that...
• 3:11
...reverses to when I did the rounds. I'm sorry,
• 3:14
Lieutenant, but when you infiltrate it's hard
• 3:17
to stop the comedy. Yeah, yeah. Suggestive in
• 3:23
Manimal, the special effects created by Stan
• 3:25
Winston, winner of four Oscars for Aliens Final
• 3:29
Battle, Terminator 2 The Day of Judgment and
• 3:32
the first Jurassic Park. Every time Jonathan
• 3:34
Chase transforms, the breath goes deeper and
• 3:37
the never -total framing stops on the face, the
• 3:40
hand and part of the body begin to pulse. Despite
• 3:43
being able to transform into any animal, Chase
• 3:46
prefers to change into a panther or falcon, what
• 3:48
is not understood. how he manages to uniform
• 3:50
the body to animals of major or minor dimensions,
• 3:53
horse, bear, bull, snake. But how do you resist?
• 3:58
It's a little hot in here. Listen, about the
• 4:00
heat in here ... Do you like it? It's better
• 4:03
that it warns you to be careful, you could take
• 4:05
out the animal that is in me. And which one?
• 4:07
Oh well, which one, it depends. What do you prefer?
• 4:09
Would you like to make the pussies like a kitten
• 4:10
or do you want to roar like a lioness? the TV
• 4:32
Guide magazine included it at number 15 among
• 4:34
the worst 50 television programs ever. Jonathan
• 4:37
Chase reappeared in the Manimal episode of the
• 4:40
1997 TV series Nightman, always produced by Glenn
• 4:44
  A. Larson. Since 1985, the telefilm was broadcast
• 4:47
in Italy by Canale 5 and Italia 1, and even recently,
• 4:50
especially in Europe, the series has been re
