- 0:25Speaker 1: It is time to believe your warriors outside and come laugh
- 0:29Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Dan ol Malley along
- 0:33Speaker 1: with Trey Trendholm and Raj Sharma. Today is Thursday, October seventeenth,
- 0:40Speaker 1: twenty twenty four, and since it is a Thursday, we
- 0:45Speaker 1: are going to throw it back a little bit and
- 0:49Speaker 1: revisit something that shaped our broadcasting lives. I don't know
- 0:54Speaker 1: about you guys, but in the era that we grew
- 0:56Speaker 1: up in, we're all gen xers, right. I'm a big
- 0:59Speaker 1: fan of appreciating where you've come from, how you started
- 1:05Speaker 1: where you are now. And part of that for me
- 1:08Speaker 1: is when I first picked up a phone, it was rotary.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, And now we have phones that record video
- 1:20Speaker 1: and audio and things better than any technology we ever
- 1:24Speaker 1: had when we were single digit aged.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I actually thought about this yesterday. I got a new
- 1:30Speaker 2: phone because my iPhone like whatever, it is like you
- 1:34Speaker 2: can't hear me when I talk. So I got a
- 1:37Speaker 2: new phone in it instant sync, like it's like you
- 1:39Speaker 2: want to wirelessly transfer all of your stuff from your
- 1:43Speaker 2: other phone to this phone. And I just did it,
- 1:46Speaker 2: and I literally flashed back and I was like I
- 1:48Speaker 2: remember being eight and using a rotary phone. And now
- 1:51Speaker 2: I just have two phones sitting side by side and
- 1:53Speaker 2: they're just digitally transferring everything and it was done in
- 1:55Speaker 2: twenty seconds.
- 1:56Speaker 1: They're talking to each other. Yeah, the power that we
- 2:00Speaker 1: hold in our cell phones is greater than what they
- 2:04Speaker 1: use for the Apollo missions. The little computer we have
- 2:11Speaker 1: in our hand that we throw around like a paper
- 2:15Speaker 1: weight on steroids is more powerful than the computers they
- 2:19Speaker 1: use to land men on the moon.
- 2:22Speaker 2: And yet gen Z is dumbish crap. Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Yeah, not only was it smart, but the computing power
- 2:29Speaker 3: they had that was not as big as the iPhone
- 2:33Speaker 3: took up like a ten thousand square foot room.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah, most of us don't have houses that big. No,
- 2:40Speaker 1: the men that created these little powerhouse machines do have
- 2:44Speaker 1: houses that big. And then some there in lives some
- 2:47Speaker 1: great irony. So I'm also a big fan of not
- 2:50Speaker 1: only ap preaching where you come from, But you're shaped
- 2:52Speaker 1: by those experiences, right, You're shaped by the by the
- 2:57Speaker 1: media you consume. As a child, I saw Jaw at
- 3:00Speaker 1: the age of five. Therefore, I was not real big
- 3:02Speaker 1: on getting in the ocean. But seeing Jaws at the
- 3:05Speaker 1: age of five shaped me as I grew older starting
- 3:10Speaker 1: out playing Pong as a video game, whereas now there's
- 3:13Speaker 1: a new video game coming out based on a quiet
- 3:15Speaker 1: place the movies, where the headset microphone that you wear
- 3:19Speaker 1: during the game, the alien monsters can hear you through
- 3:23Speaker 1: your microphone if you're not careful and find you and
- 3:25Speaker 1: kill you in the game. So that's the technology I'm
- 3:28Speaker 1: talking about. The reason why I bring all this up
- 3:31Speaker 1: is because there is a reporter that we know here
- 3:34Speaker 1: in the treehouse. We've talked to him and you know
- 3:37Speaker 1: in our radio days of past on other stations, and
- 3:42Speaker 1: he was certainly shaped by his past experiences. I am
- 3:45Speaker 1: talking about the great Jeff Crilly. He is mostly known
- 3:50Speaker 1: to Texans from Fox four. He had a great career
- 3:53Speaker 1: there after Fox Four. He still to this day operates
- 3:57Speaker 1: a very successful public relations for in North Texas. But
- 4:02Speaker 1: before the public relations firm, before the big time of
- 4:07Speaker 1: ktef W Fox four in Dallas, he was a lowly
- 4:13Speaker 1: cub reporter in Minneapolis, I think, or somewhere in Minnesota.
- 4:20Speaker 4: And.
- 4:22Speaker 1: In order to break into the big time of Market
- 4:25Speaker 1: five df W, which is now Market four. Uh, you
- 4:28Speaker 1: uh gotta cut your teeth, You gotta gotta you gotta
- 4:34Speaker 1: pay your dues, right and what what what better way
- 4:38Speaker 1: to pay your dues than being an on sceene reporter
- 4:42Speaker 1: of a major drug bust in Maple Wooden, Minnesota. Raj,
- 4:45Speaker 1: I'm going to present to you now something that Trey
- 4:48Speaker 1: and I have loved for years, and it shaped us
- 4:51Speaker 1: and it's now going it's now going to shape you too. Okay,
- 4:55Speaker 1: mm hmm. So let's go live back to the eighties
- 5:02Speaker 1: and this station that Jeff Curley was on Channel five
- 5:05Speaker 1: in Minnesota.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Major drug sweep in Minnesota. Few details of being released,
- 5:10Speaker 5: but we do know that they've made one bust in
- 5:12Speaker 5: Maple wood That's where Jeff Curley is standing by right now. Jeff,
- 5:15Speaker 5: what do you have going on for us? There's side
- 5:17Speaker 5: searching for evidence. I'm told six people have been arrested
- 5:20Speaker 5: and charged with intent to possess and deliver cocaine.
- 5:24Speaker 6: I'm told as much.
- 5:25Speaker 5: As twenty four pounds of cocaine. As I said, they're
- 5:27Speaker 5: still inside.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I don't know why, but I have seen that before.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's honestly one of the greatest all time
- 5:36Speaker 1: news bloopers. But honestly, this isn't even a blooper. This
- 5:40Speaker 1: is TV perfection because Jeff Curley delivers all the important
- 5:44Speaker 1: information that we need from this story. It's just what
- 5:49Speaker 1: unfolds behind him that he is completely unaware of the
- 5:52Speaker 1: entire segment. So he's standing there in front of this
- 5:55Speaker 1: drug house bust and behind him is the front door
- 5:59Speaker 1: there where he talks about they had the police had
- 6:01Speaker 1: to break in and serve this warrant. And then the
- 6:04Speaker 1: police officers know exactly what they're doing. They wait, they
- 6:07Speaker 1: waited till the exact moment they knew that Jeff Curley
- 6:12Speaker 1: was live on TV, and that's when they decided to
- 6:15Speaker 1: open up that front door and bring out the first
- 6:17Speaker 1: box of massive evidence. No no, and in that box
- 6:21Speaker 1: of massive evidence was a was if we're being honest
- 6:25Speaker 1: and we're being blunt, it's just a really big floppy
- 6:30Speaker 1: mm hmm, I mean big. I mean that's like, that's
- 6:33Speaker 1: like donkey size.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Now, I'd like to point out it's, you know, in
- 6:38Speaker 1: case you're listening and you're not watching this, which you
- 6:41Speaker 1: can watch, by the way Patreon dot com slash Treehouse
- 6:43Speaker 1: on air, but most most of you were listening, So
- 6:46Speaker 1: it's a big floppy dong huge.
- 6:51Speaker 3: And actually I love the fact that the door cracks
- 6:54Speaker 3: open first, because then they're making sure.
- 6:58Speaker 7: All right, yeah, yeah, all right, all are you ready?
- 7:00Speaker 7: All right? Go?
- 7:02Speaker 2: And I also like to think that like that's a
- 7:04Speaker 2: rookie cop or like a rookie DEA agent. They're like, okay, buddy, here,
- 7:08Speaker 2: you got to take this box out and make sure
- 7:10Speaker 2: you walk past the camera.
- 7:11Speaker 7: Like you know.
- 7:12Speaker 2: That was his uh they were that was his hazy.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It might have been, it might have been.
- 7:16Speaker 7: I think it's since the opposite. I think they fought
- 7:18Speaker 7: for it.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you're probably right about that, actually, Tree, I think
- 7:22Speaker 1: that's probably more accurate. They wanted to make sure that
- 7:24Speaker 1: they were gonna be the one carrying big old dong box.
- 7:28Speaker 1: So let's see if we can see that. We'll go
- 7:30Speaker 1: back to Jeff Curly Live and Maple and see if
- 7:32Speaker 1: you can see when that door creaks open so they
- 7:35Speaker 1: can see that red light and then they know it's showtime.
- 7:37Speaker 5: That's where Jeff Curley is standing by right now, Jeff,
- 7:40Speaker 5: what do you have going on for us? They're still
- 7:41Speaker 5: inside searching for evidence. I'm told six Pere has been
- 7:44Speaker 5: arrested and charged with intent to possess and deliver and.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It's beautiful because when the door opens up, that donger
- 7:51Speaker 1: is so big. That's what you see first coming through
- 7:54Speaker 1: the door. Yeah, just it starts with the tip and
- 7:58Speaker 1: then it just works its way out from there for cocaine.
- 8:02Speaker 5: I'm told, as much as twenty four pounds of cocaine.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Then you can see him trying not to laugh.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Oh, the cop knows he's carrying that box of evidence.
- 8:09Speaker 1: And Jeff Curley's timing completely unaware is a thing of
- 8:12Speaker 1: beauty because as soon as that cop leaves the shot
- 8:15Speaker 1: behind Jeff Criley and exits screenwright, basically Jeff Curley turns
- 8:20Speaker 1: back around to the door, completely unaware what is just
- 8:23Speaker 1: transpired by him, has no idea how dangerously close. He
- 8:30Speaker 1: came to the biggest in Maplewood.
- 8:34Speaker 5: And they said they're still inside. They used a banning
- 8:37Speaker 5: ram to break through glass in a steel reinforced door.
- 8:40Speaker 7: Here.
- 8:40Speaker 5: We first heard about it through a tip line call
- 8:42Speaker 5: early this afternoon.
- 8:44Speaker 2: That's a tip line.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yes, it's a pretty big tip line.
- 8:48Speaker 7: I must say.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Oh, it's things like this that really make me love
- 8:58Speaker 1: and appreciate a solid throwback Thursday.
- 9:04Speaker 7: That one makes me laugh every time.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Every single time. Yeah, I don't know where I've seen
- 9:09Speaker 2: it before, but I have seen it before. I didn't
- 9:10Speaker 2: realize it was Jeff Crilly.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Uh huh yeah, uh yeah, it's You're right, Trey. At
- 9:15Speaker 1: every single time that that thing shows up, we're all
- 9:18Speaker 1: pleased beyond believe.
- 9:25Speaker 6: You're in the tree House.
- 9:27Speaker 8: Visit us online at treehouseonair dot com.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Let's talk to Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Their phone number for your free roof inspection eight three
- 9:42Speaker 1: three cook DFW, the website cookdfw dot com. Uh, Daniel,
- 9:46Speaker 1: I know that you've already started decorating for Halloween. We're
- 9:49Speaker 1: into the decorating season, and for a lot of us
- 9:52Speaker 1: that means getting up and around the roof a little
- 9:54Speaker 1: bit to put up some lights and decorations. What are
- 9:57Speaker 1: some of the telltale signs that someone should give you
- 10:00Speaker 1: a call for your expert opinion on the status of
- 10:02Speaker 1: their roofing.
- 10:04Speaker 9: Well, first and foremost, Dan, I hope everybody is extremely
- 10:06Speaker 9: careful if they're up on the roof, because the last
- 10:09Speaker 9: thing you want to do is take a fall off
- 10:11Speaker 9: your roof. I don't know about everybody that's listening, but
- 10:14Speaker 9: if I fell off of a roof right now, I
- 10:16Speaker 9: don't think i'd bounce up as much as I used to,
- 10:18Speaker 9: so be careful out there. But hey, when you get
- 10:21Speaker 9: on your roof, if you notice some soft decking or plywood,
- 10:25Speaker 9: you know what your shingles rest on, that's a telltale
- 10:28Speaker 9: sign that you have some water damage, probably to that wood,
- 10:31Speaker 9: and it's starting to soften up. It's not as firm
- 10:34Speaker 9: you know that it should be. You also can tell
- 10:37Speaker 9: underneath your softet area or face if you see some
- 10:41Speaker 9: wood that's starting to deteriorate, that means you have water
- 10:44Speaker 9: coming from the top of that and it's starting to
- 10:47Speaker 9: get inside that area, So that means that you have
- 10:49Speaker 9: water either coming around the edges or coming inside the
- 10:53Speaker 9: bottom of the deck and going down. Also, if you
- 10:56Speaker 9: just notice that you have some shingles that are either
- 10:59Speaker 9: like curling, flipping up and down missing altogether, those are
- 11:05Speaker 9: those are all bad signs. Anything around your accessories. If
- 11:09Speaker 9: you start seeing your metal flashing, piling up, maybe not
- 11:14Speaker 9: hold down as as as smoothly as it should be,
- 11:17Speaker 9: those are signs of wind damage. So anything that just
- 11:21Speaker 9: doesn't look like it's closed, sealed or not you know,
- 11:25Speaker 9: in a good condition.
- 11:26Speaker 7: Those are all things that are pretty easy to see.
- 11:28Speaker 2: And so yeah, if you.
- 11:29Speaker 9: See any of those things, we'd love to come out
- 11:31Speaker 9: make an assessment. See if this is just some maintenance
- 11:33Speaker 9: items that you need to have addressed. Every roof needs
- 11:37Speaker 9: maintenance done to it. I can't stress this enough. Even
- 11:39Speaker 9: brand new homes need maintenance. Everybody just thinks because I
- 11:43Speaker 9: have a brand new house, that means I don't have
- 11:45Speaker 9: to worry about it for five or ten years. And
- 11:47Speaker 9: that's just facts. That's not a fact at all. That's
- 11:50Speaker 9: very fictional, and it can get you in trouble. So
- 11:53Speaker 9: just have us come out check your roof. We're gonna
- 11:56Speaker 9: do some maintenance to it. We'll you know, add some ceilants,
- 12:00Speaker 9: make sure everything's nailed down properly, and just make sure
- 12:02Speaker 9: your home's protected.
- 12:04Speaker 1: So give Daniel and his excellent team a call. Let
- 12:07Speaker 1: them come do the the expert analysis on that roof.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Eight three to three. Cook DFW the website cookdfw dot com.
- 12:23Speaker 8: You're in the treehouse, visit us online at treehouseonair dot com.
- 12:30Speaker 1: That first segment brought to you by Fairlease. If you
- 12:33Speaker 1: are ready to get a new car and you want

- 12:41Speaker 1: points in between. Call Fairleas. Just go to their website
- 12:44Speaker 1: fairlease dot org. That is Fairleas dot org. You can

- 12:57Speaker 1: Treehouse driven five days a week by fair Least. Again
- 13:01Speaker 1: the website fairlease dot org. All right, let's go from
- 13:05Speaker 1: one big to another. Jerry Jones is in the news
- 13:11Speaker 1: and kind of like that really big that came out
- 13:13Speaker 1: of the house behind Jeff Criley. Jerry Jones also decided
- 13:18Speaker 1: to uh uh, you know, throw throw his weight around
- 13:22Speaker 1: on his radio interview on k r L d f
- 13:25Speaker 1: M one oh five three the Fan in Dallas. He
- 13:29Speaker 1: has a radio interview he does on the station once
- 13:32Speaker 1: a week on the morning show, and if the schedule
- 13:35Speaker 1: is still correct, I believe he also does one later
- 13:37Speaker 1: in the week on the afternoon show. I know all
- 13:40Speaker 1: this not just because we all follow the cowboys here
- 13:43Speaker 1: inside the Treehouse, which, by the way, you can listen
- 13:46Speaker 1: and watch the Treehouse Cowboys on our YouTube channel YouTube
- 13:50Speaker 1: dot com slash at Treehouse on air where you can
- 13:52Speaker 1: hear us laugh and cry about our Cowboys. I used
- 13:57Speaker 1: to work at one O five three the Fan, and
- 13:59Speaker 1: so I am intimately aware of these Jerry Jones interviews
- 14:03Speaker 1: and it's really really fun when you get him riled up,
- 14:08Speaker 1: which is exactly what the Fan morning show in Dallas
- 14:11Speaker 1: did on their regularly scheduled interview with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
- 14:16Speaker 1: The show is Sean and R Jay, and like I said,
- 14:19Speaker 1: every week, Jerry Jones comes on the show. Well, after
- 14:21Speaker 1: a forty seven to nine blowout loss to Detroit, it's
- 14:26Speaker 1: time to ask the owner slash GM some serious questions
- 14:29Speaker 1: about the state of the team going into a bye week,
- 14:32Speaker 1: and the hosts, to their credit, they pressed Jerry, and
- 14:36Speaker 1: well Jerry pressed back and because of that has made
- 14:41Speaker 1: national news.
- 14:43Speaker 10: Jerry nineteen seventy a little different from this past off
- 14:47Speaker 10: season in building the team we're talking about today, which
- 14:50Speaker 10: there was a lot of criticism that you guys didn't add,
- 14:53Speaker 10: didn't spend, and don't add and don't spend and are
- 14:56Speaker 10: not aggressive enough with some of the problems that are
- 14:59Speaker 10: still the Cowboys today that we see playing on the field.
- 15:02Speaker 1: That's the point of talking about the off season.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Oh, I remember those criticisms very well. Okay, so what.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Are they playing out to be accurate?
- 15:13Speaker 4: What's your point? What's your point?
- 15:16Speaker 2: My point is it seems like, let me tell.
- 15:19Speaker 4: You what I'll do. Let me tell you what I'll
- 15:20Speaker 4: do about it. I will let us sit down and
- 15:25Speaker 4: look at the decisions we've made over the last several years. Okay,
- 15:31Speaker 4: I'll look at it now. If you think I'm interested
- 15:34Speaker 4: on a phone call with you over the radio and
- 15:40Speaker 4: sitting there and throwing all the good app with the dishwater,
- 15:44Speaker 4: you have got to be smoking something over there this morning.
- 15:47Speaker 4: I'm not, and I really don't, and I don't need
- 15:50Speaker 4: want our listeners to listen to me to talk about
- 15:55Speaker 4: this is not your job. Your job is to let
- 15:58Speaker 4: me go over all the reasons that I did something
- 16:01Speaker 4: and I'm sorry that I did it. That's not your job.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Well my job is that asking my job, or I'll
- 16:09Speaker 4: get another I'll get somebody else to ask these questions.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Man, Jerry, We're just We're gotta love the nervous laughter
- 16:19Speaker 1: in the radio studio there trying to figure out why
- 16:25Speaker 1: the team is.
- 16:26Speaker 4: I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding. You're not gonna figure
- 16:30Speaker 4: out it's what the team is doing right or wrong.
- 16:34Speaker 4: If you are are any five or ten like you,
- 16:38Speaker 4: you need to come to this meeting I'm going to today.
- 16:40Speaker 4: There are thirty two teams here. Your geniuses, Jerry, y'all
- 16:46Speaker 4: really think you're gonna sit there with a microphone and
- 16:49Speaker 4: tell me all of the things that I've done wrong
- 16:54Speaker 4: and without going over the rights. Now, listen, we both
- 16:58Speaker 4: know we're talking to a lot of great fans, a
- 17:00Speaker 4: lot of great listeners, and I am very sorry for
- 17:03Speaker 4: what happened out there. So I'm sick about what happens.
- 17:08Speaker 2: So yeah, he pivots really nicely.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Well, he's because he realizes he needs to. This is
- 17:13Speaker 1: this is how I'm gonna I'm gonna give you the
- 17:15Speaker 1: h This is how you can dissect a Jerry Jones interview.
- 17:19Speaker 1: It's very simple, Okay. When he is speaking in ellipses
- 17:24Speaker 1: h about a football question type thing, anything Cowboys related,
- 17:29Speaker 1: he's thinking between speaking, trying to think very calculatingly what
- 17:34Speaker 1: to say next. So he doesn't say anything that causes
- 17:38Speaker 1: too much news, doesn't speak too much from his gut.
- 17:42Speaker 1: He's trying to be very calculated in what he says,
- 17:44Speaker 1: because he's trying to think about what responses will come
- 17:46Speaker 1: from it. You know, when he's speaking passionately and like
- 17:50Speaker 1: a human, when he doesn't pause, which is what he
- 17:53Speaker 1: does here, he's speaking truthfully here. And to me, it's fascinating.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I even had a friend of mine shoot me a
- 18:01Speaker 1: text this morning asking He's like, Okay, what do you
- 18:04Speaker 1: think about this? What do you think about what Jerry
- 18:06Speaker 1: Jones said? And this is this is these are my thoughts.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Very briefly, I said a few things. One, it shows
- 18:12Speaker 1: that the hosts don't hold back in their questioning of him. Two,
- 18:16Speaker 1: it shows Jerry's ego and narcissism run amok, and his
- 18:19Speaker 1: air of superiority over others. Three, he desperately wants to
- 18:24Speaker 1: win so he can get the credit he feels he's
- 18:27Speaker 1: entitled to. There's plenty of room to expand on these points,
- 18:30Speaker 1: but that's the gist.
- 18:34Speaker 7: I think that'll forever be.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Jerry's problem is he he doesn't feel like he got
- 18:39Speaker 3: enough credit for the ninety super Bowls, and he's gonna
- 18:43Speaker 3: chase that to the day he dies.
- 18:47Speaker 7: And and at this point I think he has sealed
- 18:50Speaker 7: his fate.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, we go back to the quote that he said there,
- 18:54Speaker 1: this is not your job. Your job isn't to let
- 18:57Speaker 1: me go over all the reasons that I did something
- 18:59Speaker 1: and I'm sorry that I that's not your job. Well,
- 19:01Speaker 1: I mean, Jerry, you're the owner. You're the owner and
- 19:04Speaker 1: general manager of the Cowboys. You you've never had the
- 19:07Speaker 1: radio job, So to stop pretending that you know what
- 19:09Speaker 1: that job is. Okay, you're not going going back to Jerry.
- 19:15Speaker 1: You're not going to figure it out what the team
- 19:17Speaker 1: is doing right or wrong. If you are or any
- 19:19Speaker 1: five or ten like you, there's that air of superiority
- 19:22Speaker 1: like him even earlier on when he's like you with
- 19:25Speaker 1: a microphone, like you know, blah blah blah. Uh, you
- 19:28Speaker 1: need to come to this NFL meeting I'm going to
- 19:30Speaker 1: today with thirty two teams here because then your geniuses.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, well give me the address. I'll show.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Well.
- 19:39Speaker 3: It's my favorite Jerry Jones story is Uh. They were
- 19:44Speaker 3: in North Carolina at the Panthers facility and it was
- 19:47Speaker 3: a collect it was a meeting with the players union,
- 19:51Speaker 3: like before, trying to I think it was trying to
- 19:53Speaker 3: get a new CBA Collective Bargaining agreement, probably ten years ago,
- 19:58Speaker 3: and at the time, I'm the old owner of the Panthers.
- 20:02Speaker 3: I can't think of his name, but X NFL player
- 20:05Speaker 3: was friends with Jerry and Jerry Jerry Richardson. But Jerry
- 20:09Speaker 3: is sitting there at the table, thundering at the players
- 20:12Speaker 3: union of this is how it's gonna be blah blah blah,
- 20:16Speaker 3: and he stands up and walks out, thinking all the
- 20:18Speaker 3: owners are what following him? He turned around and realized, nope,
- 20:25Speaker 3: everyone else is still at the table.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Jerry.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Yeah, they those NFL owners they love their money, and
- 20:37Speaker 1: they also love their tension, and they also want that,
- 20:39Speaker 1: you know, and in Jerry's case, he wants he wants
- 20:42Speaker 1: the credit. So it's it was really interesting to hear
- 20:45Speaker 1: that because no, going back to the factual stuff in here,
- 20:49Speaker 1: something as a host on the fan has to constantly
- 20:52Speaker 1: contend with is that you are not, in fact a
- 20:53Speaker 1: quote unquote puppet of the Jones family. You are allowed
- 20:56Speaker 1: to say and ask whatever it is you want. So
- 21:00Speaker 1: for Jerry to threaten their jobs shows how fragile he is.
- 21:04Speaker 1: One he cannot physically fire them. He does not is
- 21:08Speaker 1: gonna have he cannot sign a sheet of paper and
- 21:10Speaker 1: they're gone.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Okay, I was gonna ask that.
- 21:12Speaker 1: In reality, if he wanted them gone, could he make
- 21:15Speaker 1: it happen? Sure, that's what power buys you. And he
- 21:18Speaker 1: would probably have to do it at the corporate level
- 21:21Speaker 1: because the VP of Talk Programming and the head of
- 21:24Speaker 1: one oh five three the fan in Dallas is our friend,
- 21:26Speaker 1: Gavin's spittle who used to be our boss, me and
- 21:28Speaker 1: Trey's boss. And we know Gavin very well. He will
- 21:32Speaker 1: have his hosts back as he currently does. And if
- 21:35Speaker 1: Jerry actually wanted Sehn and r J and Bobby Belt gone, uh,
- 21:39Speaker 1: they would have to go through Gavin to do it.
- 21:41Speaker 1: And that's part of the reason why that station has
- 21:44Speaker 1: stayed around as long as it has. And keep in
- 21:47Speaker 1: mind that's the station that replaced our favorite station that
- 21:50Speaker 1: we were on for many years, which was Live one
- 21:52Speaker 1: A five three. So to me, to me like they
- 21:56Speaker 1: needed to cueue up Cindy Lauper and True Colors because
- 21:59Speaker 1: Jerry Jones show them in that interview.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Now, can he go back and say, you know what,
- 22:04Speaker 2: I don't want to give you the exclusive rights to
- 22:06Speaker 2: air the games.
- 22:07Speaker 6: Uh?
- 22:08Speaker 2: If these guys aren't.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Let go h They have a contract and there's going
- 22:12Speaker 1: to be very tight wording in that if he wants
- 22:14Speaker 1: to breach that contract, he's certainly within his rights to
- 22:19Speaker 1: do so. But then Odyssey, the company that owns one
- 22:22Speaker 1: of five to three the fan, would be within its
- 22:24Speaker 1: rights to sue Jerry Jones and the Cowboys for breaching.
- 22:27Speaker 3: And he could also say, well, I'm not going to
- 22:29Speaker 3: renew with you, and I think they have a stronger
- 22:32Speaker 3: position of who you think is going to pay you
- 22:34Speaker 3: what we're doing, because your your options are very limited.
- 22:39Speaker 11: iHeart, yeah, actually yeah, I heart doesn't like to pay
- 22:49Speaker 11: big money.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Yeah, they do.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Love, they love, they love throwing cash around to solve
- 22:56Speaker 1: no problems.
- 22:56Speaker 7: Well that's true, but people actually listen to Cowboys games.
- 23:03Speaker 1: M hm, oh, we choked out, Raj.
- 23:12Speaker 12: You're listening to the tree House. Visit us online at

- 23:59Speaker 13: and then Halloween itself balls on Tues Thursday. I would
- 24:06Speaker 13: probably offer all the guys an extra couple hundred dollars
- 24:10Speaker 13: for the day if I could convince them, any of
- 24:12Speaker 13: them to dress like Mario and Luigi. Is how funny
- 24:14Speaker 13: would it be to call it plumber and have one
- 24:16Speaker 13: of them show up ready to go?
- 24:18Speaker 1: I'm I would happily contribute to that. Please please have
- 24:22Speaker 1: them do it. Even if they don't actually show up
- 24:24Speaker 1: to a client's house dressed like it, at least get
- 24:28Speaker 1: some photos, you know, for the website and everything so
- 24:30Speaker 1: you guys can or post on Instagram.
- 24:32Speaker 13: I love having a good time. I regret that we
- 24:34Speaker 13: didn't do the cheesy blue bonnet photos with the guys
- 24:38Speaker 13: just laid out in the blue bonnets, but we were busy
- 24:40Speaker 13: through blue Bonnet season, so you know God continues to
- 24:43Speaker 13: bless us.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd say go for the Mario Brothers thing. I
- 24:46Speaker 1: think that'd be awesome. So give Jacqueline a call to
- 24:49Speaker 1: get Mario and Luigi out to your house for any
- 24:52Speaker 1: and all of those plumbing wants and needs. And I
- 24:55Speaker 1: stress that it's not just needs. Sometimes it's a one two, one, four,
- 24:58Speaker 1: three six eight thirty eight, thirty eight. And again that
- 25:00Speaker 1: website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com.
- 25:07Speaker 12: Eng you're listening to the tree House, visit us online
- 25:15Speaker 12: at Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Be sure to check out DFW's best Haunted House, Hangman's
- 25:21Speaker 1: House of Horrors in Fort Worth, open now Friday, Saturday
- 25:25Speaker 1: Sunday through November second. For all location and ticket info
- 25:30Speaker 1: about DFW's best Haunted House in its thirty sixth year,
- 25:35Speaker 1: go to Hangman's dot com. That is Hangman's dot com
- 25:39Speaker 1: for Hangman's House of Horrors in Fort Worth. Coming back
- 25:45Speaker 1: now after talking about Cowboys owner Jerry Jones thinking on
- 25:49Speaker 1: his end probably that he ran the radio morning show
- 25:55Speaker 1: hosts that he's doing the interview with every week over
- 25:58Speaker 1: the coals, when in reality, I think all he did
- 26:01Speaker 1: was paint a very unfortunate picture of himself. Because there's
- 26:07Speaker 1: one thing that all of us serfs love to be
- 26:11Speaker 1: able to do, and that is to speak truth to power,
- 26:14Speaker 1: which is what these guys are doing. They're saying, Jerry,
- 26:17Speaker 1: you had all the opportunities to do these things in
- 26:19Speaker 1: the off season with your team, and you didn't do
- 26:21Speaker 1: any of these things. Do you think that's coming back
- 26:23Speaker 1: to bite you in the ass now? And then Jerry
- 26:26Speaker 1: went off on them, saying, I can get five or
- 26:28Speaker 1: ten other people just like you to ask me these questions.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I'll have you replaced. There's nothing better in this world
- 26:35Speaker 1: than an entitled, rich person trying to exude his or
- 26:39Speaker 1: her entitlement power and threatening people of commonplace. And I
- 26:46Speaker 1: don't think he realized that that's exactly what he did.
- 26:48Speaker 1: He thought that he shouldn't have to be answering these
- 26:50Speaker 1: questions because he too feels bad about how the team performed. Well,
- 26:55Speaker 1: that's just not how it works, man.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, if if if I gave you two
- 27:03Speaker 2: or three billion dollars, do you think you would be
- 27:06Speaker 2: mad with power?
- 27:10Speaker 1: Here's here's the thing that I feel about money. First
- 27:13Speaker 1: of all, I agree that it cannot buy you happiness,
- 27:16Speaker 1: but it can buy you some really cool stuff. There's
- 27:18Speaker 1: no doubt about that. They can buy you things that
- 27:20Speaker 1: might bring you some joy. But ultimately, if you are
- 27:23Speaker 1: not a happy person at your core, you're not gonna
- 27:26Speaker 1: be happy with money. You're just going to be the
- 27:28Speaker 1: same person, just with a lot of money. So uh,
- 27:32Speaker 1: I will say, you know how Spider Man's uncle says,
- 27:36Speaker 1: with great power comes great responsibility. Yeah, great, With great
- 27:40Speaker 1: money comes great entitlement.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 27:44Speaker 1: And rich people don't necessarily like to hear that, but
- 27:46Speaker 1: it's true, because who are the people always sliding hundreds
- 27:49Speaker 1: and and fifties and stuff to waiters and make treades
- 27:54Speaker 1: to get a table at a packed restaurant. It's the
- 27:56Speaker 1: rich people.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Dude, you've never done that.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I'm not rich enough to do that. I make a
- 28:03Speaker 1: reservation like a normal damn man. Okay, you know why,
- 28:07Speaker 1: because I don't live an entitled life. That's why.
- 28:11Speaker 2: I mean, I've done stuff like that before, though, Like
- 28:12Speaker 2: I like, you walk up to a bar and the
- 28:15Speaker 2: bartender like twenty bucks or put make sure he sees
- 28:19Speaker 2: you put twenty bucks in the tip jar. That way
- 28:20Speaker 2: you get better service than everything.
- 28:21Speaker 1: No, that I'll do absolutely.
- 28:22Speaker 7: Yeah. Yeah.
- 28:23Speaker 1: If I walk into a bar where they don't know me,
- 28:25Speaker 1: I'll make sure that if there's a crip jar out,
- 28:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna throw a decent amount of cash if they
- 28:28Speaker 1: see me do it, so then yeah, they'll remember. Like that, right, Garria,
- 28:31Speaker 1: that guy's a good tipper.
- 28:33Speaker 2: That's kind of the same thing on a different level
- 28:35Speaker 2: as the you know, Grease and the mayor d for
- 28:38Speaker 2: a better table. It's kind of the same thing.
- 28:40Speaker 1: But in this case, Jerry Jones doesn't pay those radio guys.
- 28:44Speaker 1: And unless there's some dark Web Venmo stuff going on,
- 28:49Speaker 1: he's not putting money in their morning show tip jar.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Yeah, and I don't think. I don't think the cowboys
- 28:56Speaker 3: bring the value anymore in radio that he thinks they do.
- 29:01Speaker 3: But also it's like you said, Jerry is chasing I
- 29:05Speaker 3: think more than anything else, he is chasing validity for
- 29:09Speaker 3: his actions and because he will never get the credit
- 29:11Speaker 3: he thinks he deserved for the nineties championship, which really
- 29:15Speaker 3: that was just writing checks and and you know it's
- 29:21Speaker 3: he's probably the greatest owner of all time and the
- 29:23Speaker 3: worst GM.
- 29:24Speaker 7: And that's the dichotomy of Jerry Jones.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Raj What was what was the quote from the sports
- 29:30Speaker 1: writer that you that you read.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Oh no, it was just a comic, he said, I
- 29:34Speaker 2: have to look it up really quick. But his comic
- 29:36Speaker 2: great comic name Billy D. Washington, And he said, let's
- 29:44Speaker 2: see if I wanted the conundrum. The worst the Dallas
- 29:47Speaker 2: Cowboys are, the more popular they become. Jerry made a
- 29:50Speaker 2: bad season worse on purpose with that radio interview. He's
- 29:53Speaker 2: the worst GM in football and the best owner in sports.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Dallas Cowboys become the world's first sports team to crack
- 29:59Speaker 2: the ten billion dollars Today.
- 30:02Speaker 1: As I was telling a friend of mine who lives
- 30:04Speaker 1: in the Pacific. As I was telling a friend of
- 30:07Speaker 1: mine who lives in the Pacific Northwest about the Cowboys
- 30:10Speaker 1: because he says he can never escape the Cowboys, I said,
- 30:13Speaker 1: that's because they're the herpes of football. Can't get rid
- 30:16Speaker 1: of them. They're always going to be there.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Yeah. When I was in Ireland, the two number one,
- 30:23Speaker 2: when I was in the UK, the two number one
- 30:25Speaker 2: selling hats in the UK, or the Yankees and the
- 30:28Speaker 2: Cowboys like everywhere you went. And when people found out
- 30:33Speaker 2: I was from Dallas, that's all they wanted to talk
- 30:35Speaker 2: about was the cowboys. See.
- 30:37Speaker 1: And that's the thing too, is when you're from Dallas,
- 30:38Speaker 1: you need to go to Europe and stuff. I've heard
- 30:40Speaker 1: people say, don't say you're from America, say you're from Texas,
- 30:43Speaker 1: or say you're from Dallas and then immediately pull up
- 30:45Speaker 1: your phone. Yes, and this is your theme music. Wherever
- 30:50Speaker 1: you go in Europe, you will be popular and they
- 30:53Speaker 1: will buy you things, which doesn't mean you're entitled to it.
- 30:56Speaker 1: It's just a really cool thing that.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Can happen, and women will take a fan it to you.
- 31:01Speaker 2: That is that is very true.
- 31:02Speaker 1: You ain't made love until you've made love to the
- 31:04Speaker 1: Dallas theme with a ting gallon hat and that's it
- 31:10Speaker 1: and nothing else. And your your role playing Jr. But
- 31:13Speaker 1: they the weird thing was that you're the one that
- 31:16Speaker 1: does the shooting.
- 31:17Speaker 2: They they they thought it was I guess they thought
- 31:21Speaker 2: it was the original reality show because they thought they
- 31:23Speaker 2: were real people. Like people were asking me if I'd
- 31:25Speaker 2: ever met j R. Or Sue Ellen, and I'm like,
- 31:27Speaker 2: what did you say? I was like Larry Hagman, Linda
- 31:30Speaker 2: Gray and they're like, oh, we thought those were actual.
- 31:33Speaker 2: The Ewing family was an actual family and I was like, no,
- 31:37Speaker 2: you guys have to stop drinking during lunch, Like that's like,
- 31:41Speaker 2: that's that's not what.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I'm surprised you don't know this As a Texan. When
- 31:46Speaker 1: someone asks you if you know the ewings, you say yes,
- 31:53Speaker 1: and then you play your song and then they bring
- 31:58Speaker 1: you all the finest foods, yes, drinks.
- 32:02Speaker 2: And yes you want you want to findest food in London,
- 32:05Speaker 2: that's what you want. You want to find this British food.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Well, you don't want the crap.
- 32:10Speaker 2: It is all crap.
- 32:13Speaker 1: At least bring on the crap that looks like it
- 32:15Speaker 1: might taste good.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Bring me your finest beans on toast.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I would like the organic free range beans.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Please, Briosch and not wheat.
- 32:32Speaker 1: No, I'm I'm I believe. I'm a I'm a firm believer.
- 32:34Speaker 1: If if someone thinks when you go overseas that Dallas
- 32:39Speaker 1: is the first reality show. When you say you're from Dallas,
- 32:42Speaker 1: you're from Texas, whatever, and they say do you know JR.
- 32:44Speaker 1: You and you say yes, yeah, it's.
- 32:46Speaker 2: The weird thing because like when I was there, they're like,
- 32:48Speaker 2: you're from Dallas. Do you ride horses? Did you ride
- 32:50Speaker 2: horses to school? Like that was a thing.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Uh.
- 32:53Speaker 2: And then when I tell people I'm Indian, They're like,
- 32:54Speaker 2: did you ever ride an elephant? I'm like, which one
- 32:56Speaker 2: is it? You guys make up your mind? Am I
- 32:59Speaker 2: riding horses are all? Which? What am I doing?
- 33:01Speaker 4: Like?
- 33:01Speaker 2: Who am I?
- 33:02Speaker 4: Well?
- 33:02Speaker 1: You know what? Your parents were pretty well off. I
- 33:04Speaker 1: think you had one of each in the driveway.

- 33:22Speaker 1: Makes sense.
- 33:30Speaker 14: If you thought twenty twenty four couldn't get any scarier,

- 35:00Speaker 1: billionaire to another, and this billionaire may actually end up
- 35:04Speaker 1: being a trillionaire before it is all said and done.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Fellow Texan Elon Musk, he's had a big, big week
- 35:14Speaker 1: and kind of like Jerry Jones, a big week in
- 35:17Speaker 1: the sinse of some good stuff, maybe some bad stuff.
- 35:20Speaker 1: So let's start with what Elon thought was good stuff.
- 35:24Speaker 1: That was his Wee Robot Extravaganza, which, if we're being honest,
- 35:30Speaker 1: every year. Now that Elon Musk and Tesla when they
- 35:34Speaker 1: do their annual show. It feels exactly like the beginning
- 35:39Speaker 1: of Iron Man two, when Tony start in the Iron
- 35:43Speaker 1: Man suit, drops out of the sky, does the hero
- 35:47Speaker 1: landing on the stage and boom opens up Iron Man two.
- 35:52Speaker 1: I think that's how Elon Musk thinks he looks, but
- 35:55Speaker 1: instead he looks more like a sweaty bag of potatoes
- 35:58Speaker 1: on a cheap Peloton comparison. M still way better than
- 36:03Speaker 1: any of us. I'm just saying what he's trying to
- 36:06Speaker 1: look like versus what he actually looks like two vassally
- 36:08Speaker 1: different things, and keeping in mind he's probably going to
- 36:11Speaker 1: be a chillionaire by the time it's all said and done,
- 36:13Speaker 1: so you know, kudos to him keeping that in mind.
- 36:18Speaker 1: All the stuff they unveiled at the Wei Robot Extravaganza
- 36:23Speaker 1: looks alwful lot like all this stuff from the movie
- 36:26Speaker 1: I Robot starring Will Smith, So much so that the
- 36:29Speaker 1: director and writer of the film, Alex proyis even posted
- 36:32Speaker 1: on Musk's X platform. Lets me make sure I get
- 36:36Speaker 1: this quotation correctly. He says, Hey, Elon, can I have
- 36:42Speaker 1: my designs back?
- 36:43Speaker 7: Please?
- 36:44Speaker 2: Hilarious.
- 36:46Speaker 1: I'm not sure. Did you guys see the robots and
- 36:49Speaker 1: the robotcabs and the new Tesla vehicles and stuff. I mean,
- 36:54Speaker 1: it's if we're being honest, this definitely looks like he
- 36:57Speaker 1: was at the very least inspired by the Eye Robot film,
- 37:02Speaker 1: and in some regards looks like he may have just
- 37:05Speaker 1: stolen it out right. Like the robot stuff that's not
- 37:07Speaker 1: so big, right, you got the robot from Eye Robot
- 37:11Speaker 1: looks a little bit like the Optimus robot that Tesla's producing.
- 37:15Speaker 1: That's just a humanoid looking thing, not as big of
- 37:17Speaker 1: a deal. But the robot taxi that's that seems pretty
- 37:21Speaker 1: obvious that it's the same exact design. Yes, And he
- 37:25Speaker 1: also is not doing a good job of trying to
- 37:27Speaker 1: hide it either, because he called the event we robot.
- 37:31Speaker 1: So is he just is Elon Musk just a robo
- 37:34Speaker 1: hack and he's just putting it on display for all
- 37:36Speaker 1: of us to see.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, also, this stuff is already in San Francisco,
- 37:42Speaker 2: Like Amazon has the the robocabs going already like that's
- 37:47Speaker 2: been going on, and they have a robo bus as well,
- 37:50Speaker 2: which I think that's what that is, is the bus
- 37:53Speaker 2: that holds like sixteen or eighteen passengers. But that's Amazon
- 37:58Speaker 2: has already had those in San Francis the last two years.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Those are the what are they called the we wayh
- 38:04Speaker 1: the wah wah Way, the Amway, No, not amway. They
- 38:09Speaker 1: have some autonomous vehicles already, but they're not Tesla autonomous vehicles.
- 38:14Speaker 1: They're the competition. And that's what Elon's trying to do.
- 38:16Speaker 1: He's trying to get in on that autonomous market for Tesla.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:21Speaker 7: Yeah, for some I read about it. For some.
- 38:25Speaker 3: They didn't approve. They didn't like the way Tesla was
- 38:28Speaker 3: doing basically their AI for the for.
- 38:31Speaker 7: The autonomous driving vehicles, but they liked the way.
- 38:35Speaker 3: There was something about amazons that got approved and Tesla didn't.
- 38:38Speaker 3: And yeah, and Roger's right, Amazon has been doing there
- 38:40Speaker 3: for a couple of years.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Yeah, so he's just piggybacking off of this.
- 38:44Speaker 4: Now.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Look he's it's not like he's this great thinker. It's
- 38:48Speaker 2: not like he got subsidized early and for the first
- 38:52Speaker 2: decade of Tesla, if not even maybe fifteen years, he
- 38:56Speaker 2: never turned a profit. It was just subsidized by the
- 38:58Speaker 2: government to get to reduce I mean, that was his
- 39:02Speaker 2: that was his goal when he before he became a
- 39:04Speaker 2: complete nut job. He was like, I want to reduce,
- 39:07Speaker 2: like you know, the carbon emissions and you know the
- 39:09Speaker 2: carbon footprint and this and that. We want to go
- 39:11Speaker 2: into this and I'm going to make all these great
- 39:13Speaker 2: vehicles and I'm gonna do all this great stuff. And
- 39:16Speaker 2: then the money started getting to him, and now he's
- 39:17Speaker 2: got like four hundred and fifty kids and he's a lunatic.
- 39:23Speaker 1: At Comedian Raj for all of your input and opinions
- 39:26Speaker 1: at Comedian Raj. Now, now here's the other. Here's the
- 39:30Speaker 1: other part of me that dares to ask the question.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Is Elon Musk a robo hack? What's his tesla humanoid
- 39:39Speaker 1: robot called Optimis So he's basically doing what a lot
- 39:43Speaker 1: of us would do in the same age bract, which
- 39:44Speaker 1: is do things that we saw growing up and name
- 39:47Speaker 1: the stuff that we're doing now for those things like
- 39:49Speaker 1: the Optimist robot, we robot instead of I robot because
- 39:52Speaker 1: he loves the movie. Deep down, I think eventually his
- 39:56Speaker 1: ultimate goal is to create a real world Voltron and
- 39:59Speaker 1: I have for I'm okay with that. I'd like to
- 40:01Speaker 1: see five robots come together to form a super robot. Yes,
- 40:05Speaker 1: and you know he will put himself in the main
- 40:07Speaker 1: Lion thought.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I would, I would show up to
- 40:12Speaker 2: that event.
- 40:12Speaker 1: I would do I'll play good money for that one. Yeah,
- 40:15Speaker 1: I'll be like Elon takes my money. I want to
- 40:17Speaker 1: see Vultron in action, and you better have a big
- 40:19Speaker 1: ass sword just like in the cartoon.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and looks like he's gonna be like the Defender
- 40:22Speaker 2: of Earth, like that's that's what that's what this Vultron
- 40:25Speaker 2: will be. And he'll call it like we Vultron.
- 40:28Speaker 1: So it doesn't sound like it'll be it'll be like
- 40:30Speaker 1: like the inspiration was cool, but it'll fall just a
- 40:33Speaker 1: little short of expectations, which honestly is kind of like Tesla.
- 40:37Speaker 1: And here's a great example of that. At the event,
- 40:40Speaker 1: they had the Optimist Tesla humanoid robots bartending serving people drinks.
- 40:47Speaker 1: And the thing was, though it wasn't exactly completely autonomous
- 40:52Speaker 1: robots making these drinks. Here's an example of it. I
- 40:58Speaker 1: know this guy wants to up.
- 41:00Speaker 5: It's on my shirt, you so.
- 41:03Speaker 1: I didn't notice it at first. The first voice you
- 41:06Speaker 1: hear is the alleged voice of the Optimist Tesla robot. Okay,
- 41:13Speaker 1: that's the first voice. That's the first voice you hear
- 41:16Speaker 1: in this clip, I know this guy wants to go
- 41:19Speaker 1: to mar Yep, It's on my shirt.
- 41:21Speaker 4: I get you.
- 41:22Speaker 1: I'll have the watermelon too, watermelon.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Coming right up.
- 41:26Speaker 1: So now the Tesla robot is going to read down
- 41:29Speaker 1: for a glass. It's got a tap in front of
- 41:32Speaker 1: him with two pigots that he can choose from.
- 41:34Speaker 6: So are you being remote controlled? Younight, going, sir?
- 41:40Speaker 1: So far the Optimus robot is really good at not
- 41:43Speaker 1: answering your question wow. And then.
- 41:49Speaker 6: Are you going, sir? Good?
- 41:51Speaker 2: I said, are you being remote controlled.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Today? I'm assisted by a human. I'm not yet.
- 42:04Speaker 2: That's somebody on a headset talking exactly Wow.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna play that little bit for you again where
- 42:10Speaker 1: he where he admits, no, I'm being assisted by a human,
- 42:13Speaker 1: and pay attention to when he uses the word autonomous.
- 42:15Speaker 10: Today, I'm assisted by a human, I'm not yet.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Sounds like Optimist has been hitting that watermelon's bigot a
- 42:26Speaker 1: little bit. It's a tough word to say for anybody,
- 42:32Speaker 1: but I'm pretty sure a real robot would have gotten
- 42:34Speaker 1: it right.
- 42:35Speaker 3: And that is the one reason why bartenders are the
- 42:38Speaker 3: least worried about AI.
- 42:48Speaker 6: You're in these visit us online.
- 42:54Speaker 8: I'm Treehouse on air dot com.
- 43:02Speaker 12: You're listening to the Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouse
- 43:06Speaker 12: on air dot com.
- 43:09Speaker 1: That previous segment of the Treehouse was brought to you
- 43:11Speaker 1: by COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration for your free roof inspection
- 43:16Speaker 1: and to get yourself on the cook list called eight
- 43:18Speaker 1: three to three cook DFW. To reach COOKDFW Roofing and
- 43:22Speaker 1: Restoration eight three three COOKDFW. The website is cookdfw dot com.
- 43:27Speaker 1: That is cook dfw dot com. There was a really
- 43:33Speaker 1: good story that I wanted to touch on that came
- 43:36Speaker 1: out of the Elon musk slash SpaceX area, and that
- 43:41Speaker 1: was the big news the other day that one of
- 43:44Speaker 1: the SpaceX Falcon rockets again return to Earth safely back
- 43:50Speaker 1: on the launchpad, but not in the way that we've
- 43:52Speaker 1: grown accustomed to it. Because that in its own right
- 43:55Speaker 1: is a huge deal. When NASA would launch stuff, those
- 43:58Speaker 1: booster rockets would fall into the ocean or wherever, and
- 44:02Speaker 1: you never got to use them again. The idea of
- 44:04Speaker 1: SpaceX was to be sustainable, use things over and over
- 44:07Speaker 1: and over again, and that has been a huge success
- 44:10Speaker 1: for Elon and SpaceX well, they upped the ante the
- 44:14Speaker 1: other day. So not only did the Falcon nine rocket
- 44:18Speaker 1: return to its launch pad, but but in an unprecedented feat,
- 44:24Speaker 1: SpaceX used robot arms to capture the descending rocket to
- 44:31Speaker 1: give it a gentle hug, if you will, as it
- 44:34Speaker 1: returned to the launch pad. And I think we all
- 44:38Speaker 1: can see where this is going. What starts as a
- 44:40Speaker 1: gentle hug for a rocket eventually becomes a sweet seat,
- 44:45Speaker 1: a sweet sweet caress of robot hands on your.
- 44:53Speaker 2: That's where that's where you think SpaceX is going.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Yes, okay, look, it is entirely possible for two things
- 45:01Speaker 1: to happen at the same time. On one hand, and
- 45:05Speaker 1: I mean, I want that fun to be intentional. It's
- 45:08Speaker 1: very intentional. On one hand, you can set your sights
- 45:13Speaker 1: to the exploration of the Cosmos. Now that's what one
- 45:18Speaker 1: hand is doing. The other hand is going to be
- 45:22Speaker 1: pleasuring yourself here on Earth because that's really awesome what
- 45:26Speaker 1: the other hand is doing, and you need to feel
- 45:27Speaker 1: good at the same time, do.
- 45:30Speaker 3: You think or was it in reverse? Was Elon getting
- 45:34Speaker 3: a handy from a robot arm and he was like, hey,
- 45:39Speaker 3: wait a second.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Look, genius is fine. Inspiration in the most interesting of places.
- 45:44Speaker 2: This makes my rocket feel good.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I think everyone should feel this way as long as
- 45:52Speaker 1: they have at least a quarter of a million dollars.
- 45:55Speaker 2: And I mean if you can, because the bartender was
- 45:58Speaker 2: remote controlled, So couldn't you just sell like you can,
- 46:02Speaker 2: just get like a robot hand that you can remote
- 46:04Speaker 2: control like you could.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that's eventually where it's going to go,
- 46:08Speaker 1: because again, you you you start with the big picture
- 46:11Speaker 1: stuff and then you get down to the fine motor
- 46:13Speaker 1: skills of the robots. Right, so you get the launchpad
- 46:16Speaker 1: robot arms that will hug the rocket and hold it
- 46:20Speaker 1: in place, feel safe and secure. But then eventually you'll
- 46:24Speaker 1: be able to perfect that technology and reduce it down
- 46:29Speaker 1: from a major motor skill to a fine motors skill. Yeah,
- 46:34Speaker 1: from a hug down to a gentle pinch and motion
- 46:37Speaker 1: with a hand.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it's I think it takes the romance
- 46:41Speaker 2: out of the way when you have to put in
- 46:42Speaker 2: like pounds per square inch.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Uh oh, I mean there's a fine line between romance
- 46:47Speaker 1: and safety.
- 46:50Speaker 2: I think God knows.
- 46:51Speaker 7: God knows guys will push it.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Yes, we will, because look, some of us are going
- 46:57Speaker 1: to want to have a stronger kung fu grip, whereas
- 46:59Speaker 1: other's made like a lighter touch.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you have the how do you?
- 47:04Speaker 4: How do you?
- 47:04Speaker 2: How do you measure it?
- 47:05Speaker 5: Like?
- 47:06Speaker 1: Do you well whether or not it's still there is
- 47:09Speaker 1: a good start. I mean if if you get a
- 47:13Speaker 1: little too excited and that thing gets ripped off, you know,
- 47:20Speaker 1: instead of a safe word, you have a safe setting.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Ejected.
- 47:28Speaker 1: I guess that's the first syllables right on, right on
- 47:34Speaker 1: the track there, all right. Today is Thursday, October seventeenth,
- 47:42Speaker 1: twenty twenty four. Let's jump into some birthdays here then
- 47:46Speaker 1: that we've given billionaires a proper hard time. Birthdays today,
- 47:52Speaker 1: Whitney Carson turns thirty one. She is a Dancing with
- 47:55Speaker 1: the Stars pro. She won the nineteenth season with Alfonso Ribero,
- 47:59Speaker 1: one of the few times probably in Dancing with the
- 48:01Speaker 1: Stars history, that the star carried the professional dancer. H Yeah,
- 48:07Speaker 1: and that was one of those when that cast was announced.
- 48:09Speaker 1: And keep in mind, I've never watched a full season
- 48:11Speaker 1: of Dancing with the Stars, It's not my thing. But
- 48:15Speaker 1: once they announced Alfonso Robero as one of the stars
- 48:18Speaker 1: on Dancing with the Stars, we all knew he was
- 48:20Speaker 1: gonna win. Like Oh, there was never a doubt. I
- 48:23Speaker 1: don't even know who else was on that season. It
- 48:24Speaker 1: didn't even matter because they all knew he was gonna win.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I watched the I watched this thing on how
- 48:31Speaker 2: he came up with the Carlton dance, and that's a
- 48:34Speaker 2: really fun just a it's a real quick clip, but
- 48:37Speaker 2: it's really fun to watch, Like the just the inspiration
- 48:40Speaker 2: of where he came up with that.
- 48:42Speaker 3: It's kind of it was I forgot that it was
- 48:44Speaker 3: part Courtney Cox and the Bruce Springsteen.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Video and then yep, that's right.
- 48:48Speaker 7: Uh, there was one other part of it, but yeah.
- 48:50Speaker 2: That's and then they just kind of they just told
- 48:52Speaker 2: him like, this is gonna do a Carlton dance and
- 48:56Speaker 2: then just gave him the space and so he did that.
- 48:58Speaker 2: He took Courtney Cox from uh dancing in the Dancing
- 49:02Speaker 2: in the Dark, I think is what it is, and
- 49:03Speaker 2: then he took some somebody else I can't remember, and
- 49:05Speaker 2: then he just started just tearing up the space and
- 49:08Speaker 2: they're like, that's and then the director goes, you know,
- 49:11Speaker 2: you're going to be known for this forever now, and
- 49:14Speaker 2: that's exactly what it is. So I mean, you don't
- 49:16Speaker 2: remember any of like the crazy emotional scenes from Fresh Prince,
- 49:20Speaker 2: but you remember every time he did the Carlton dance.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Well, no, I remember also some of the emotional scenes.
- 49:26Speaker 1: I still remember that really emotional scene where Will Smith
- 49:29Speaker 1: is talking about his absent father with Uncle Phil. That
- 49:32Speaker 1: was a very powerful scene. Alfonso is not in that,
- 49:35Speaker 1: No he's not, but he also is in the Apache
- 49:38Speaker 1: dance scene, and that was really fun.
- 49:43Speaker 2: The dancing.
- 49:45Speaker 1: I mean, come on, that's great. The only thing, the
- 49:47Speaker 1: only thing better than seeing Will Smith and Alfonso Roberto
- 49:51Speaker 1: do the Apache dance from from Fresh Prince of bel
- 49:53Speaker 1: Air is seeing two chicks doing it at the Yellow Rose.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Oh okay, that's a truly special sight to behold.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Yeah I can't. Uh yeah, I missed that place, A
- 50:08Speaker 2: fun little spot outside of Boston.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Or in your case, Raj, if you know the password
- 50:14Speaker 1: to get into the dark corners of Carl's Corner off
- 50:18Speaker 1: at thirty five in between Waco and Dallas.
- 50:20Speaker 2: I will tell you my Yellow Rose story real quick.
- 50:22Speaker 2: And there was a really there was a red Ferrari
- 50:25Speaker 2: outside and there was a guy inside who was like
- 50:27Speaker 2: buying like drinks for everybody and it was super cool. Dude,
- 50:30Speaker 2: and I was like, I don't know who he is,
- 50:31Speaker 2: and got to chatting and whatever, and one of the
- 50:34Speaker 2: strippers like, you know who that is. It's buying all
- 50:36Speaker 2: the drinks. I was like, no, it was Michael.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Dell Oh from Dell Computers.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he was a fan of the Yellow Rose as well.
- 50:46Speaker 2: F y. I.
- 50:47Speaker 1: So, so now it makes sense, is the reason why
- 50:50Speaker 1: the Dell headquarters is in Austin.
- 50:52Speaker 3: He started, I mean, if you want to talk about
- 50:54Speaker 3: the adequacies of he started Dell out of his dorm
- 50:58Speaker 3: room at ut everyone else was jerking off and you know,
- 51:03Speaker 3: just doing stupid stuff and he started Dell.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and now he's got robots to do it for him.

- 52:03Speaker 1: but it's not Trey Raj or either of you customers
- 52:09Speaker 1: of Bath and Bodyworks.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Bath and body is that the one in the mall
- 52:15Speaker 2: with the candles?
- 52:16Speaker 1: Yes, I have.
- 52:17Speaker 2: I have gone shopping there for other people. I do
- 52:20Speaker 2: not buy anything for myself.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Okay, First of Trey, you I don't think I've ever
- 52:26Speaker 3: stepped foot in the one show off.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Also tell me you're single without telling me you're single.
- 52:37Speaker 1: I am a firm believer if you are in a
- 52:39Speaker 1: relationship with a woman, you will at some point Bean
- 52:44Speaker 1: Beth Bath and Body Works, which is okay. They have
- 52:48Speaker 1: very fine men's products. I say that because I use
- 52:50Speaker 1: some of them. There is one product I did not
- 52:53Speaker 1: get a chance to sample, and that is Bath and
- 52:56Speaker 1: body Works apologizing for selling candles that looked an awful
- 53:01Speaker 1: lot like hu Kluck's klan hoods.
- 53:05Speaker 2: Oh tell me they're still there, I'll go get one.
- 53:09Speaker 1: I don't know if they're still there or if they've
- 53:11Speaker 1: disappeared into the night, much like clan members.
- 53:17Speaker 2: Wow wow.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Okay, However, when you see the candling question. I can
- 53:23Speaker 1: understand why some people were a little outraged at the design,
- 53:28Speaker 1: because it really does look like a bunch of clan
- 53:32Speaker 1: hoods staring at you from a candle label. Now, what
- 53:38Speaker 1: they were going for was a winter theme, yes, of
- 53:45Speaker 1: a paper snowflake, so when you look at it a
- 53:48Speaker 1: second time, you can kind of see the paper snowflake
- 53:52Speaker 1: thing that we all made in kindergarten first grade.
- 53:55Speaker 2: When I saw it immediately, yeah yeah.
- 53:57Speaker 1: But the first thing I saw was indeed what looks
- 53:59Speaker 1: to be clan hoods with eye holes cut out, staring
- 54:03Speaker 1: back at me. And it looks like a group of them,
- 54:04Speaker 1: which none of us ever And honestly, since it's on
- 54:07Speaker 1: a candle, there's flames behind the hoods, it really just
- 54:10Speaker 1: sells the whole image.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Which I mean when you first started the story, I
- 54:14Speaker 3: thought the candles themselves looked like clan hoods, and I
- 54:17Speaker 3: thought that was one of the great ironies.
- 54:20Speaker 2: Set them on fire.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's maybe that's how you salvage it. You
- 54:26Speaker 1: re released the product just with new packaging to make
- 54:28Speaker 1: it look like the clan members are themselves on fire.
- 54:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:32Speaker 7: I think if you didn't have the eye holes, you'd
- 54:34Speaker 7: have been Okay.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Yeah. The candle's label, called snowed In was decorated with
- 54:40Speaker 1: a styleized paper snowflake, but many people on social media
- 54:42Speaker 1: compared it to the hoods and robes worn by clans members.
- 54:45Speaker 1: The KKK is one of the oldest and most infamous
- 54:47Speaker 1: hate groups in the United States. That is according to
- 54:50Speaker 1: the Southern Poverty Law centerNet that we needed them to
- 54:52Speaker 1: confirm that, but it is. The Anti Defamation League says
- 54:56Speaker 1: that the imagery of the KKK hood itself has become
- 54:59Speaker 1: a hate symbol. Now, of course batho uh not bed bathroom.
- 55:03Speaker 1: Beyond my apologies, that's what straight men do. They confuse
- 55:06Speaker 1: these two brands. At bath and body Works, they said
- 55:09Speaker 1: they are committed to listening to our teams and customers
- 55:11Speaker 1: and committed to fixing any mistakes we make, even those
- 55:13Speaker 1: that are unintentional like this one, and we apologize to
