- 0:00Speaker 1: We went to a T-Pain concert together.
- 0:02Speaker 2: T-Pain.
- 0:02Speaker 3: TVT.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Okay, by the way, like, I love going to concerts.
- 0:05Speaker 3: It's just, like, every ticket I've bought, I don't realize that, like.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I'm not going to be there on that date.
- 0:10Speaker 3: But for whatever reason, I've seen T-Pain three times without
- 0:14Speaker 3: buying the ticket or trying to in the past three years.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Hi, everyone.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Welcome back to another episode of Clyde Confidential. My guests
- 0:26Speaker 4: today are Ivy Getty, a model and a musician.
- 0:30Speaker 5: And her lovely assistant, Renee.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Hey, girl.
- 0:33Speaker 5: Hi, ladies. Thank you so much. It's really a pleasure
- 0:37Speaker 5: to have you.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 0:39Speaker 4: And I'm so flattered that you made time during Fashion Week.
- 0:41Speaker 5: I can only imagine how busy it is.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It's like, well, it hasn't fully started yet. It feels
- 0:46Speaker 2: like actually today.
- 0:46Speaker 1: We're on the cusp.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah. What's on deck? Do you have a lot of shows?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Well, we just came from a fitting.
- 0:54Speaker 3: The good news is, is kind of all the fittings
- 0:56Speaker 3: and that stuff are in the same neighborhood. So we
- 0:58Speaker 3: kind of walked here and we've been city biking everywhere.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Everywhere.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I love city biking. It's so dangerous.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It's so much faster than taking a cab or sometimes
- 1:07Speaker 1: even the subway.
- 1:07Speaker 5: I'm so scared of it. I feel like I'm going
- 1:09Speaker 5: to get like whacked by a car.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I'm so like.
- 1:12Speaker 1: No, Ivy's kind of made me brave.
- 1:14Speaker 3: It's like, well, also there's specific bike lanes. There's certain
- 1:18Speaker 3: streets you can take and like the maps can choose.
- 1:20Speaker 2: That for you.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Yeah. For me, the biggest issue is the potholes in
- 1:25Speaker 3: the street. You have five seconds to figure out what
- 1:27Speaker 3: you're doing if you go and you see one coming.
- 1:31Speaker 3: And that's more scary than anything else, in my opinion,
- 1:34Speaker 3: when it comes to biking in the city.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Well, damn, you two are brave.
- 1:37Speaker 4: I would probably only do it on the West Side Highway,
- 1:39Speaker 4: but even that I feel like is very busy.
- 1:41Speaker 1: No, I love the West Side Highway.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But that's so pretty because they have a fully like
- 1:43Speaker 2: separated bike lane. I love doing that.
- 1:45Speaker 5: I thought I'd give it another go. I would be
- 1:47Speaker 5: too scared to do it like in and out of
- 1:49Speaker 5: the street. So that's.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 1: No, we're weaving.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Girls.
- 1:52Speaker 2: We're definitely. Yes. There's moments where I'm like, okay, I
- 1:56Speaker 2: need to cool it. Like I'm pushing it. Well, damn.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Honestly, like very impressed. So how long has it been
- 2:03Speaker 5: since you guys have been working together?
- 2:04Speaker 1: It was actually, I don't know if you know this Ivy,
- 2:06Speaker 1: but our three year anniversary just hit yesterday.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 1: That's crazy. So three years, I know.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Three years? Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 5: That's a really good runway for, like, an assistant.
- 2:18Speaker 1: That's huge. Actually, my first week was New York Fashion
- 2:21Speaker 1: Week when I started.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 2:23Speaker 1: So that's why I know.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Because it's a very easy anniversary to remember.
- 2:26Speaker 5: I mean, if you get thrown into Fashion Week, like,
- 2:28Speaker 5: your first week of work.
- 2:29Speaker 2: No, no, it was, like, terrifying.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It was terrifying.
- 2:31Speaker 2: It was.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I will say I'm really lucky that Ivy gave me
- 2:34Speaker 1: some time to, you know, assimilate and, like... get into
- 2:39Speaker 1: the groove of things because I'm sure some of the
- 2:42Speaker 1: people on her team were like, you have got to
- 2:44Speaker 1: figure it out.
- 2:46Speaker 3: No, I just remember there was one thing. I don't
- 2:48Speaker 3: remember what it was. I just, I had had two
- 2:51Speaker 3: assistants before Renee. And everything was great with them, but
- 2:54Speaker 3: they just both had plans. Like, they had other places. Yeah, like,
- 3:01Speaker 3: one wanted to be a producer. And so she ended
- 3:03Speaker 3: up getting, like, the job offer of her dreams.
- 3:06Speaker 2: And, of course, take that.
- 3:07Speaker 3: So, like, I wanted to find somebody that would be
- 3:11Speaker 3: permanent that I could be close with. And so when
- 3:14Speaker 3: Renee came along, it felt like we clicked immediately. And
- 3:17Speaker 3: then Fashion Week starts. We go to London, but Renee
- 3:20Speaker 3: wasn't with us. Something happened with a car driver and
- 3:24Speaker 3: like my two publicists were like, it's not going to
- 3:27Speaker 3: work because I think they were so used to these
- 3:28Speaker 3: people just changing.
- 3:30Speaker 2: And I was like, no, we can't do this. And
- 3:33Speaker 2: I think, yeah, I was.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Like, thank God we didn't say anything because everybody loves Renee.
- 3:40Speaker 2: It's a thing. It's so like, sorry, I'm talking so much,
- 3:43Speaker 2: but you're good. It's such a compliment.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Because I will go into so many situations or even
- 3:49Speaker 3: get appointments. Like, for example, there's this eyebrow lady that
- 3:53Speaker 3: is booked years in advance, and I didn't even know that.
- 3:54Speaker 4: I feel like I know who you're talking about, but
- 3:56Speaker 4: I don't know her name because I've tried to get
- 3:57Speaker 4: in with her. Like, the one lady in New York who, like,
- 3:59Speaker 4: is really good.
- 4:00Speaker 2: First of all, she is incredible.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:01Speaker 3: But, like, I got an appointment with her, and I
- 4:04Speaker 3: didn't think anything of it. And when I got there
- 4:07Speaker 3: in person, she was like, I gave you your appointment
- 4:09Speaker 3: because your assistant is so lovely to speak to. Oh.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Wait, I didn't know that.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Did I not tell you that?
- 4:15Speaker 3: No. No.
- 4:16Speaker 2: So seriously, that's why I got the appointment.
- 4:18Speaker 3: And then another girl that was finishing up her brows
- 4:20Speaker 3: by her was like, no, like I have my appointments
- 4:23Speaker 3: booked for the next three years.
- 4:24Speaker 5: And I was like, that's really cute.
- 4:28Speaker 1: It's my Midwestern genes for sure.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Remind me where you're from.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I'm from Kentucky.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Got it.
- 4:35Speaker 1: But I know I'm very grateful. It's been a really
- 4:37Speaker 1: fun three years so far.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:39Speaker 5: So that was the beginning getting thrown into fashion week.
- 4:42Speaker 4: You had had two assistants prior to, your team was
- 4:45Speaker 4: not sure in the beginning because.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Like, well, it was literally probably like one week because
- 4:50Speaker 2: we were just gone.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I mean, I, yeah, they went to London. And so
- 4:53Speaker 1: I was, you know, six hours behind, five hours behind.
- 4:56Speaker 1: And I was like, I don't know where I'm supposed
- 4:59Speaker 1: to take her or where she's supposed to go. And
- 5:00Speaker 1: they were like, well, you should know. But I think,
- 5:02Speaker 1: I mean, in a very loving, like, let's just figure
- 5:04Speaker 1: this out way. And I needed some time to like
- 5:07Speaker 1: get there. But, but yeah, it worked out.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Well, I also think it's unfair because it's like, People
- 5:14Speaker 3: during fashion week, especially publicists, are so stressed out and
- 5:18Speaker 3: have an edge to them. 100%.
- 5:19Speaker 2: More than usual.
- 5:22Speaker 3: And so I think you were kind of probably just
- 5:24Speaker 3: the guinea pig of the situation. Like they were waiting
- 5:26Speaker 3: for somebody to slightly do something.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Right, like for the shoe to drop.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Like I think I put the fitting location instead of
- 5:33Speaker 1: the show location and you ended up going to the
- 5:34Speaker 1: fitting instead of the show location. Like on that day
- 5:38Speaker 1: or something.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I don't remember.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It was something like that, but.
- 5:41Speaker 2: But now we're good.
- 5:41Speaker 1: But now we're great.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:44Speaker 5: It's fine.
- 5:44Speaker 4: In those early days, what, what do you think helped
- 5:47Speaker 4: like you navigate fashion week and figure it out? Because
- 5:51Speaker 4: you came from a different background than like a straight PA.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I used to work in an art gallery. Um, but
- 5:58Speaker 1: I think I'm just always been really organized and honestly
- 6:02Speaker 1: having just like a group chat of Ivy's team where
- 6:05Speaker 1: they just kind of say everything that needs to be
- 6:08Speaker 1: said and like, It was like a crash course in
- 6:12Speaker 1: how to organize information that was being thrown at me.
- 6:16Speaker 1: But I really like doing that. So I think that
- 6:17Speaker 1: that was kind of fun. Like it was stressful, obviously,
- 6:21Speaker 1: at times. But I think it was just a really
- 6:23Speaker 1: fun challenge. So I don't know. I think like the
- 6:26Speaker 1: communication style was similar to what I was already doing.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I was an assistant at the gallery. So people already
- 6:32Speaker 1: kind of communicated to me like that. So it wasn't
- 6:35Speaker 1: that different. It was just for one person instead of
- 6:38Speaker 1: for a company.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Yeah. And God knows like the art world is like
- 6:42Speaker 3: the most obnoxious people of all time. Sorry.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I actually get fashion people like a run for their money.
- 6:47Speaker 1: It's different.
- 6:48Speaker 4: I mean, both are very tough industries. Like I came
- 6:51Speaker 4: from fashion and then pivoted into entertainment. I was like, wow,
- 6:55Speaker 4: people in fashion are like cuckoo, but people in entertainment
- 6:58Speaker 4: are also cuckoo.
- 6:59Speaker 5: It's just like a different level.
- 7:00Speaker 2: It's like what version of cuckoo? Exactly.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Like how do we really, what's the bar?
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:05Speaker 4: But it's nice to hear, though, that you were able
- 7:07Speaker 4: to survive Fashion Week having not done one before because
- 7:09Speaker 4: a lot of my clients, when they look for an assistant,
- 7:12Speaker 4: they're like, well, that makes me a little nervous that
- 7:13Speaker 4: she has never done a Fashion Week before because obviously
- 7:16Speaker 4: that's a whole different ballgame. Or maybe it's, oh, she's
- 7:19Speaker 4: never done a press tour. But if you have the
- 7:22Speaker 4: right skill set that can transfer over and you're motivated
- 7:25Speaker 4: to do it and you're a go-getter, you can survive.
- 7:28Speaker 4: You can figure it out.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 3: I also think, like, if somebody else has a team
- 7:33Speaker 3: before an assistant is coming in, that definitely helps. Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Like, if I was alone in that, it would have been, yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 2: And I don't remember any, I don't even remember an
- 7:42Speaker 2: adjustment period.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I feel like, and I, again, I wouldn't even point
- 7:46Speaker 3: that out as an issue. But I also think that, like,
- 7:50Speaker 3: there was no, nothing that ever stuck out to me
- 7:53Speaker 3: that went wrong during fashion week ever past that.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Like, it wasn't, like.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I don't think it was anything major. I think for me,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I was a perfectionist and so were your publicists. Yeah,
- 8:03Speaker 1: like nothing I noticed. So it was very much like,
- 8:06Speaker 1: you know. But yeah, it wasn't terrible, but it was
- 8:10Speaker 1: definitely an adjustment.
- 8:11Speaker 2: It's a learning curve. Yeah.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Now you're on your third fashion week.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Yeah. Here we are.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Happy anniversary, guys.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Ivy, when you were hiring and when we were going
- 8:19Speaker 4: through the process, what made Renee stand out from the
- 8:23Speaker 4: other interviews and what made you want to hire her?
- 8:25Speaker 1: Our interview was so funny.
- 8:27Speaker 2: It wasn't really an interview. I genuinely... I'm so sorry.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I don't remember if I interviewed anybody else.
- 8:32Speaker 1: You didn't really. Our interview was at the standard.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I remember our interview. I just don't think I interviewed
- 8:38Speaker 2: anybody else.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Oh.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Because they were doing it?
- 8:41Speaker 3: I was probably going to... Maybe you were the first
- 8:45Speaker 3: person I was meeting with. Because I have somebody else
- 8:49Speaker 3: on my team that.
- 8:50Speaker 5: Kind of screens people.
- 8:51Speaker 3: 100%.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Yeah. And then, like, sometimes... I guess in my scenario,
- 8:58Speaker 2: they would narrow it down to a certain amount.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I interviewed with people before.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so you probably.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Were just my first person on the list and I
- 9:05Speaker 3: just knew. But also that's how I decide things. Like
- 9:09Speaker 3: if I just know, I don't need to figure out
- 9:12Speaker 3: the rest that will feel right, especially because I had
- 9:14Speaker 3: experience of having other people and also just being raised
- 9:19Speaker 3: by my grandmother that had assistants or working at different,
- 9:23Speaker 3: like I worked at magazines and saw how, Things should work,
- 9:26Speaker 3: especially with fashion and organizing schedules. And so it felt
- 9:32Speaker 3: right immediately.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I remember I asked if you liked Taylor Swift. I
- 9:36Speaker 2: cared about your star sign. Sounds really annoying.
- 9:39Speaker 1: She showed me her closet.
- 9:40Speaker 3: But, like, it's not so much that, like, if there's
- 9:42Speaker 3: star sign that I... It makes it more exciting. Like
- 9:45Speaker 3: I wouldn't not hire somebody because of their astrological sign.
- 9:50Speaker 5: But like I might.
- 9:51Speaker 2: It's a possibility.
- 9:53Speaker 3: But if I'm told they're like one of the signs
- 9:55Speaker 3: that are particularly organized, it's an extra point.
- 10:00Speaker 2: In my head. Like, it makes me feel better.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:02Speaker 5: I'm the same way.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I've, like.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Since I moved to L.A., I'm, like, so woo-woo.
- 10:06Speaker 4: I have, like, a whole soccer team of healers, psychics, astrologists,
- 10:10Speaker 4: and I always ask people for their birthday.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I love doing that stuff.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Same.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Also, like, I.
- 10:17Speaker 3: used to live in London and in Selfridges and they
- 10:20Speaker 3: still have this. On the ground floor, they have this
- 10:23Speaker 3: thing called the Psychic Sisters and it's like fully a
- 10:26Speaker 3: psychic shop and there's like three different rooms and I
- 10:30Speaker 3: would just see them like therapists and if I didn't
- 10:32Speaker 3: like what somebody said, I would just book another psychic
- 10:34Speaker 3: the next day or like if it was really about
- 10:36Speaker 3: to find a psychic outside of Selfridges just to go to.
- 10:40Speaker 3: But it's like, Not to take it so seriously, it
- 10:42Speaker 3: just makes things a little more fun.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yeah. I guess and whimsical.
- 10:46Speaker 5: I was in Selfridges last week and I wish I
- 10:48Speaker 5: knew about this. I would have had a time.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Their incense smell awful. I don't know why because they're
- 10:53Speaker 3: like glittery and I really wanted that to work. But
- 10:55Speaker 3: they sell really amazing crystals. Like they have a little mini.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Gift shop before like the offices of the psychics. And
- 11:02Speaker 2: it's so much fun. Like I still always go.
- 11:04Speaker 5: I'm going to make a big mental note.
- 11:06Speaker 2: I don't even have like a person I go to.
- 11:08Speaker 5: You don't use a single, like you don't have like
- 11:10Speaker 5: a go-to?
- 11:13Speaker 3: I mean, when I was a kid, my godmother and
- 11:15Speaker 3: I did, and my grandma was so against it, because
- 11:18Speaker 3: my godmother lived with us in my grandma's house.
- 11:22Speaker 2: And so we'd secretly meet with.
- 11:23Speaker 3: This lady, and I loved her, but she was so
- 11:27Speaker 3: wrong about everything.
- 11:29Speaker 5: Like.
- 11:30Speaker 2: She said I was going to go to college in Boston.
- 11:33Speaker 3: I fully applied to a college in Boston because she
- 11:35Speaker 3: said that.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I can't see you in Boston.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I remember I was like listening to that song Boston
- 11:40Speaker 2: by August. What's that?
- 11:42Speaker 5: Oh, I think I'll go to Boston.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Yeah. Like I was so emo.
- 11:44Speaker 3: And I was like, this is like where I'm going
- 11:46Speaker 3: to find my love because I did not have my boyfriends,
- 11:49Speaker 3: like my first boyfriend until college.
- 11:51Speaker 2: But I really was trying to make it work mentally.
- 11:54Speaker 3: And it just didn't.
- 11:55Speaker 1: She tried.
- 11:56Speaker 2: It's hysterical.
- 11:57Speaker 5: I always take what they say with a little grain
- 11:59Speaker 5: of salt, but I.
- 11:59Speaker 4: Do have this one guy who I have a standing
- 12:02Speaker 4: monthly with for the last two years who has never
- 12:06Speaker 4: misguided me.
- 12:06Speaker 5: He is my king. I'm like, I feel like you're
- 12:09Speaker 5: my dad. Yeah, I'll give you his number. He's unbelievable.
- 12:13Speaker 4: And then I have a couple others depending on like
- 12:15Speaker 4: my temp or if I need a second opinion on something.
- 12:18Speaker 4: But at the same time, they'll say something, but I'll
- 12:20Speaker 4: always make my, you know, free will and you can
- 12:22Speaker 4: make your own decisions.
- 12:24Speaker 2: But my.
- 12:25Speaker 5: My one guy is out of control.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I mean, I have a healer that I really, like,
- 12:31Speaker 2: see often. For the past three years. He's amazing. But
- 12:36Speaker 2: he's a healer, which is great.
- 12:38Speaker 3: So I've, like, practiced a lot of meditation and listening to, like,
- 12:42Speaker 3: frequencies and stuff like that. And he does tarot sometimes.
- 12:46Speaker 3: But I have yet to be, like, blown away by
- 12:48Speaker 3: a psychic. But I'm very open to that happening. And
- 12:52Speaker 3: I want it to eventually.
- 12:53Speaker 2: You're great. Just wait.
- 12:57Speaker 5: With that being said, what are your signs aligned?
- 13:00Speaker 1: I'm an Aquarius. My rising is, I actually just found
- 13:06Speaker 1: out I was wrong because I was getting my birth
- 13:07Speaker 1: city wrong.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I don't know why I've never asked. Like, I know
- 13:10Speaker 2: you're Aquarius, but past that point, I did not.
- 13:13Speaker 1: My rising is Scorpio, and I'm an Aries moon.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Okay, that's great. Because Aries is a fire sign.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 2: What are you?
- 13:23Speaker 3: I'm a double Sagittarius. But then my moon's in Cancer,
- 13:26Speaker 3: which is a water sign versus fire.
- 13:29Speaker 1: That makes a lot of sense to me.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Also, I.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Have my Ascendant in my first house.
- 13:39Speaker 2: And then also my 12th house is in Jupiter.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Something like that where it's like so Sagittarius and crazy
- 13:47Speaker 3: that I feel kind of off balance with the Cancer.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Because I.
- 13:51Speaker 3: get very emotional over other people versus myself. Like, I
- 13:57Speaker 3: cannot open TikTok in the morning because if I see
- 13:59Speaker 3: any kind of, like, core video, I just start crying. Like,
- 14:03Speaker 3: if I see something I've never meant to get proposed
- 14:05Speaker 3: to or, like, if somebody's being helped or, like, a
- 14:08Speaker 3: miracle's happening, like, I seriously will start crying.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I've seen it.
- 14:12Speaker 2: But, like, sometimes I want to cry.
- 14:14Speaker 3: For myself and, like, I'll try to set the mood. Or, like,
- 14:18Speaker 3: drawing a bath or something.
- 14:19Speaker 2: And, like, I can't.
- 14:21Speaker 4: But I know the Internet is like it's like I
- 14:24Speaker 4: my explore page is the same stuff. Like all those
- 14:26Speaker 4: people who go around and like like find like the
- 14:29Speaker 4: homeless person.
- 14:29Speaker 1: The whole course.
- 14:30Speaker 2: So money.
- 14:31Speaker 5: You know, I'm talking about like those videos.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Yes.
- 14:33Speaker 5: And then it's like golden retrievers.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 14:36Speaker 5: Like sad animal videos.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:37Speaker 3: No, I can't have the animal involved. I will turn
- 14:40Speaker 3: off a movie if they go that low.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Like kill the person.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 2: I really can't deal with.
- 14:45Speaker 1: We were doing, like, a campaign with a rescue, like,
- 14:48Speaker 1: a shelter, and she literally started crying when talking about
- 14:51Speaker 1: her dogs.
- 14:52Speaker 2: No, I can't talk about the dogs.
- 14:53Speaker 1: We were like, okay, we need to cut for a sec.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Actually, like, I think I need to mentally be prepared
- 14:58Speaker 3: for anything professionally, and I don't know because I'm not
- 15:02Speaker 3: at all, like, my dogs are my life.
- 15:05Speaker 2: No, it's nice. Me too. I have two. A golden
- 15:08Speaker 2: and a Frenchie. Yes, I have two as well. What
- 15:11Speaker 2: kind do you have? They're both, so what's so funny is, like,
- 15:13Speaker 2: I grew up with an English Mastiff. Wow. His name
- 15:16Speaker 2: was Buddha. We were born four days apart.
- 15:18Speaker 3: And my mom rescued him, but he was 250 pounds.
- 15:22Speaker 3: He was in National Geographic because, like, the magazine, like,
- 15:27Speaker 3: nothing related to my family's name.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Like, it was my mom that found him. He was
- 15:31Speaker 2: just massive. He was just massive.
- 15:33Speaker 3: And they were visiting this, like, veterinary center, and he
- 15:36Speaker 3: happened to be getting, like, a surgery that day.
- 15:38Speaker 2: And they were so, like.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Shocked by his size that they ended up taking a
- 15:43Speaker 3: photo and it was in print.
- 15:45Speaker 5: That's crazy. 250 pounds is insane.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Yes.
- 15:48Speaker 3: But I also, my stepfather, um, I grew up with,
- 15:52Speaker 3: he worked at the SPCA and like on location, we
- 15:57Speaker 3: grew up with pit bulls as well. And he was
- 16:00Speaker 3: the kind of guy that every time the pit bull
- 16:02Speaker 3: passed away, he got a new.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Pit bull name. It had the same name as before.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Um, And so I was raised constantly volunteering at the
- 16:12Speaker 3: SBCA with him and the importance of adopting dogs was
- 16:17Speaker 3: kind of always a thing in San Francisco and cats,
- 16:21Speaker 3: because I remember for my like obnoxious private school that
- 16:24Speaker 3: I love so much, but like even for their auctions
- 16:29Speaker 3: where they were raising money, there was an SBCA cat
- 16:32Speaker 3: and dogs. They were never encouraging anything else. Um, And
- 16:38Speaker 3: so I would never see myself with.
- 16:40Speaker 2: A tiny dog. And then in college, I, of course,
- 16:47Speaker 2: did not think this through at all.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Like, I was going for a chiropractor appointment in Beverly Hills,
- 16:51Speaker 3: and there was a blackout. And no Wi-Fi, like, you
- 16:55Speaker 3: couldn't check out, so they couldn't do whatever... I cracked
- 16:58Speaker 3: my back.
- 16:59Speaker 2: I don't know. I was with my ex-boyfriend from college.
- 17:01Speaker 3: But, like, basically we couldn't use the cash register to
- 17:04Speaker 3: check out, so we couldn't go. And so I remembered
- 17:07Speaker 3: there was a shelter very nearby, and I was like,
- 17:10Speaker 3: I kind of want a dog.
- 17:12Speaker 2: So I just drove to the shelter.
- 17:14Speaker 5: That pivot of, like, well.
- 17:16Speaker 2: And I'm living in a dorm.
- 17:18Speaker 3: The dogs are not allowed in the dorm.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Like, I'm a freshman. I.
- 17:23Speaker 3: And leaving the shelter because nothing felt like it was
- 17:26Speaker 3: the right fit. I remember there's this one dog that
- 17:27Speaker 3: was for free, 14 years old. It was so big
- 17:31Speaker 3: it wouldn't have been able to be happy in a
- 17:35Speaker 3: dorm and I would have been in trouble immediately. But yeah,
- 17:40Speaker 3: so as I was walking out, they said, well, have
- 17:42Speaker 3: you seen the puppy we have left?
- 17:43Speaker 2: And I was like, where's the puppy?
- 17:45Speaker 3: And because they need to get their shots at a
- 17:46Speaker 3: certain amount of weeks old, they had blue in the
- 17:49Speaker 3: cat section.
- 17:50Speaker 2: And of course, only in a L.A. shelter. I'm like
- 17:53Speaker 2: going up to this class.
- 17:54Speaker 3: She's wearing a Juicy Couture t-shirt that they let me keep.
- 17:58Speaker 3: It says Queen of Couture 09. She was born in 2015.
- 18:03Speaker 3: And it was like the rest was history. And then
- 18:07Speaker 3: with Martini, he came from Texas and I rescued him
- 18:09Speaker 3: in Jersey three years ago.
- 18:11Speaker 1: They're both chihuahuas. Were you around?
- 18:13Speaker 2: Oh, sorry. I rescued Martini. They're both chihuahuas.
- 18:16Speaker 3: I never in my life, I remember when we were
- 18:18Speaker 3: walking in, I'm still good friends with my ex-boyfriend from college.
- 18:22Speaker 3: He said, at this point he's already agreed that we're
- 18:25Speaker 3: getting a dog. He was like, whatever we do, we're
- 18:27Speaker 3: not getting a chihuahua. And I remember saying, obviously we're
- 18:31Speaker 3: not getting a chihuahua. And we walked in and an
- 18:33Speaker 3: hour later, I'm coming out with a chihuahua.
- 18:36Speaker 1: It makes so much sense, though. They are such good
- 18:38Speaker 1: little travelers. Yes, they're the best.
- 18:40Speaker 2: They're perfect.
- 18:41Speaker 5: So Blue and Martini?
- 18:43Speaker 1: They're basically, I'm their aunt.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yes, very cute. No, I'm obsessed with them.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Martini's on a truck right now going across America that
- 18:50Speaker 3: rescues Todd.
- 18:51Speaker 1: His face.
- 18:52Speaker 2: His face. Not physically.
- 18:54Speaker 5: So you do a lot of stuff with, like, rescue.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Very cute.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Very involved with best friends.
- 18:59Speaker 3: And, like, not, probably people assume that I'm just, like,
- 19:03Speaker 3: going to events or something, like, I will be on
- 19:05Speaker 3: the bus sometimes, like, fully scrubbing down, like, the cages
- 19:10Speaker 3: where they're trying to be in Midtown.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Even in, is it in Bryant Square Park where they
- 19:16Speaker 2: have the muddy paws pop up?
- 19:19Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Oh, I followed them on Instagram. So I've done that
- 19:21Speaker 2: a couple of times with them.
- 19:22Speaker 1: We just recently took a trip to the Best Friends Sanctuary.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, we just went to Utah.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and then, like, fully, you know, got to see
- 19:29Speaker 1: all of the animals. Like, it's huge and so great.
- 19:34Speaker 1: It was a good trip.
- 19:35Speaker 4: I feel like people are always looking for the right
- 19:37Speaker 4: rescues in New York. I should send something out to
- 19:40Speaker 4: the assistant group about that.
- 19:42Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Best Friends is amazing. So is Muddy Paws.
- 19:45Speaker 3: It's yeah both of them are amazing I mean Muddy
- 19:48Speaker 3: Paws is very local to New York and they just
- 19:50Speaker 3: in the past three years have opened up like they
- 19:53Speaker 3: had only a office and adoption center in Brooklyn and
- 19:58Speaker 3: now they have one in the city so.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I used to foster with Muddy Paws they're great oh.
- 20:01Speaker 4: Cool Well, it's so funny because a lot of my clients,
- 20:05Speaker 4: when they're looking for assistance, they say, well, I also–
- 20:07Speaker 4: I really need someone who likes dogs.
- 20:09Speaker 1: And I'm like– It's so important.
- 20:10Speaker 5: Let's be clear. I do not trust anyone who doesn't
- 20:13Speaker 5: like dogs.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Agreed.
- 20:14Speaker 2: It's so bizarre.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Like– That's a character flaw.
- 20:17Speaker 3: My mom rescued so many– like I grew up with
- 20:20Speaker 3: like parrots, birds.
- 20:22Speaker 2: We found a mouse in the house, which happened all
- 20:24Speaker 2: the time. I kept them. I have bunnies.
- 20:28Speaker 3: But– My mom was just somebody that loved to take any, like,
- 20:33Speaker 3: cat indeed she found. And she bought a cat that
- 20:35Speaker 3: happened to be pregnant. And so I grew up with
- 20:37Speaker 3: 12 cats. Because, of course, she was like, we're keeping kittens.
- 20:41Speaker 3: And she helped the cat give birth at home.
- 20:45Speaker 2: No experience. Oh, my God.
- 20:47Speaker 3: I remember, like, the kittens were under my mom's bed.
- 20:49Speaker 3: And we were just, like, visiting them.
- 20:51Speaker 5: That's adorable. What kind of cat?
- 20:56Speaker 2: I couldn't tell you.
- 20:56Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 20:57Speaker 2: But all the kittens like look different. One, I remember
- 21:00Speaker 2: Tricky passed away only like five years ago, like not
- 21:03Speaker 2: that long ago. Tricky was the all black one. And
- 21:06Speaker 2: that's why we called him Tricky because like Halloween trick
- 21:08Speaker 2: or treat. Cute.
- 21:11Speaker 3: And then there was this little tiger striped one. I mean,
- 21:16Speaker 3: it was every color of cat possible. And they were
- 21:19Speaker 3: all so cute. But I am so scared of cats.
- 21:22Speaker 3: What that said always happened.
- 21:23Speaker 2: It's an issue.
- 21:24Speaker 5: No way.
- 21:25Speaker 2: They're so unpredictable. They are.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Some are very sassy. I became a cat person when
- 21:30Speaker 4: I was an assistant too because my old boss said
- 21:32Speaker 4: I'd love to get a cat. So I'm 26 on
- 21:35Speaker 4: my phone. I'm like, Scottish Fold Cat NYC. And the
- 21:39Speaker 4: first thing that popped up was I thought it was
- 21:42Speaker 4: a shelter.
- 21:43Speaker 5: I thought it was something. It was this woman's apartment.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Wait, where did you say it was?
- 21:47Speaker 1: Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Is that near.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Is that near like, oh my God, Coney Island area? Yes.
- 21:56Speaker 1: It was very deep.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Because I found a dog that was supposed to be
- 22:00Speaker 3: from a shelter before I landed on Martini that I
- 22:03Speaker 3: found in Texas. And I dragged my friends when they
- 22:06Speaker 3: wanted to just go to Coney Island. I was like, surprise,
- 22:09Speaker 3: we're stopping by a shelter on the way. And it
- 22:10Speaker 3: was fully a woman's apartment and nothing was right.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Like a puppy mill kind of thing?
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yes, it was not right.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Was she Russian?
- 22:15Speaker 2: I just remember, like, first of all, I'm not comfortable separating.
- 22:20Speaker 3: like, families of dogs. Like, Blue was all by herself left.
- 22:25Speaker 3: She was the runt of the litter, which, for whatever reason,
- 22:27Speaker 3: people are, like, so scared to get the runt of
- 22:29Speaker 3: the litter.
- 22:30Speaker 5: I got the runt of the litter.
- 22:31Speaker 3: I've always only had the runts, and that's not on purpose, but, like,
- 22:34Speaker 3: I love my dogs. And anyways, I'm not comfortable separating
- 22:40Speaker 3: a dog from the rest of its family. I mean,
- 22:43Speaker 3: Blue's mom was in the shelter. She was the last
- 22:45Speaker 3: one up, but It was very poetic. I was like,
- 22:47Speaker 3: she's seeing her last baby be adopted because all the
- 22:49Speaker 3: others weren't. I did call back a week later to
- 22:52Speaker 3: get her and she was adopted, by the way.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Her name was Cupcake. Cute.
- 22:58Speaker 1: We grew up with also the runt of the litter
- 23:00Speaker 1: of Great Danes. We had a Great Dane and a Pitbull,
- 23:03Speaker 1: so I also grew up around huge dogs.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Massive dogs.
- 23:06Speaker 1: And now I'm obsessed with Chihuahuas because of Ivy's dogs.
- 23:10Speaker 3: I had a Shih Tzu when I was a kid,
- 23:13Speaker 3: but she wasn't particularly super tiny, and her name was Peaches.
- 23:18Speaker 5: Great names, by the way.
- 23:20Speaker 3: My mom and I also fully had arguments, because my
- 23:23Speaker 3: mom had me when she was 20, so I feel
- 23:26Speaker 3: like we were going up together. So looking back on
- 23:29Speaker 3: our arguments, I was like, Mom, you should have just
- 23:32Speaker 3: let me have this.
- 23:33Speaker 2: But the name of our pets was a major issue. Yeah.
- 23:36Speaker 3: She was going through this phase where she was obsessed
- 23:38Speaker 3: with Stevie Nicks on almost like an unhealthy level.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Stevie's a very cute dog name.
- 23:43Speaker 3: She had all these magazine shit she found on eBay
- 23:46Speaker 3: that Stevie Nicks signed.
- 23:47Speaker 2: That's why we got the parrot, by the way, because
- 23:49Speaker 2: Stevie Nicks had that white parrot. So then my mom's like, obviously,
- 23:52Speaker 2: we're getting a parrot.
- 23:54Speaker 3: And then she wanted to name our cat that was
- 23:58Speaker 3: white Stevie Nicks because of the white dove.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Sorry. That's really cute.
- 24:04Speaker 3: And I, of course, in the most boring, basic fashion,
- 24:08Speaker 3: wanted to name her Snowflake. Which, yeah, I don't know
- 24:12Speaker 3: why Snowflake is such a go-to for a cat name.
- 24:15Speaker 2: It's cute. Some of our cats were very confused. We
- 24:19Speaker 2: would just.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Both call them whatever we wanted to, and they never
- 24:22Speaker 3: knew their names.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I mean, 12 of them.
- 24:23Speaker 5: It's, like, hard to keep up.
- 24:24Speaker 1: I feel like most cats don't know their names.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel that, too.
- 24:28Speaker 5: Cats are very smart, though.
- 24:29Speaker 2: No, they are.
- 24:29Speaker 1: They definitely are.
- 24:30Speaker 2: They're, like, way ahead.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Actually, even if they do know their names, they're, like,
- 24:33Speaker 1: ignoring you on purpose.
- 24:34Speaker 5: They're still going to give you some toot.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Yeah. So funny.
- 24:37Speaker 5: Well, besides all the animal stuff, like, what do you
- 24:39Speaker 5: guys have on slate? What are your goals for this year?
- 24:42Speaker 5: Goals for each other?
- 24:43Speaker 1: We're doing Fashion Week soon. So that'll be a big thing.
- 24:50Speaker 1: What else do we have in store? I mean, another Met.
- 24:56Speaker 2: But that's in a while. I feel like we.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Well, there's a lot of local projects we're doing with
- 25:05Speaker 3: the New York Cares because the Winter Wishes program is.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Really important to me. And so... I know. We're going
- 25:13Speaker 2: to do something with them.
- 25:13Speaker 1: We're going to have Ivy sponsor a school, basically, to
- 25:17Speaker 1: fill all of the needs of the Winter Wishes.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Wow.
- 25:20Speaker 2: That's incredible.
- 25:21Speaker 1: And then we might do a backpacking event where her
- 25:23Speaker 1: friends come over and help pack backpacks. There's a lot
- 25:26Speaker 1: of stuff that we're discussing that we haven't nailed down yet,
- 25:28Speaker 1: but I think it's going to be a fun year
- 25:30Speaker 1: for that.
- 25:31Speaker 5: That's incredible. When I had the foster family in L.A.,
- 25:34Speaker 5: you were very kind to fulfill a lot of their
- 25:36Speaker 5: Amazon wish list.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 2: That went a long way. Oh, my God. I go
- 25:40Speaker 2: on these....
- 25:42Speaker 3: Moments like at least once a week in the morning
- 25:44Speaker 3: where I go on the Amazon wish list and I
- 25:48Speaker 3: just fulfill a ton of random like I'll type in
- 25:53Speaker 3: because like I don't have the link to these people's
- 25:55Speaker 3: lists and I'll type in like keywords like you could
- 25:57Speaker 3: say like classroom wishes or but sometimes they're like from.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Five years ago you have to make sure like yeah.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Yeah you're not sending random stuff to a random address
- 26:06Speaker 3: and so like I have figured out some Keywords to
- 26:09Speaker 3: use to find them.
- 26:11Speaker 1: But you're very hands-on with it.
- 26:13Speaker 2: But I like being hands-on. I like going in person.
- 26:15Speaker 2: I remember when we were dropping off the gifts this
- 26:17Speaker 2: past year.
- 26:18Speaker 3: It kind of upset me. Yeah, it was emotional. Anybody
- 26:24Speaker 3: donating something is better than nothing. But when we went
- 26:27Speaker 3: to this one school to drop off some of the gifts,
- 26:31Speaker 3: I saw a very well-known name. And not like celebrity well-known,
- 26:35Speaker 3: more like, wealthy I guess so like available probably in
- 26:41Speaker 3: their schedule but I saw their name on the package
- 26:46Speaker 3: and they also the person dropping them off announced it
- 26:48Speaker 3: and I'm like there's something so important to.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Me about being there and dropping it.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Off but we also like totally decided to do what
- 27:00Speaker 3: we did with the winter wishes on our own because
- 27:02Speaker 3: their program like they give you a certain amount of
- 27:05Speaker 3: kids and I got to.
- 27:07Speaker 1: They just say how many are still in need, and
- 27:09Speaker 1: we were just like, okay, great, let's do it. Well,
- 27:10Speaker 1: I looked up the school of one of them.
- 27:12Speaker 3: And I, like, literally went on Google, and I saw
- 27:15Speaker 3: how many kids went to that school, and I just thought, like,
- 27:18Speaker 3: after seeing some, there was, I'm so sorry, but there was, like,
- 27:21Speaker 3: a really idiotic influencer online, and nobody agreed with it, so, like,
- 27:27Speaker 3: this isn't going to get me canceled, but, like.
- 27:29Speaker 2: She was so rude when she was shopping.
- 27:32Speaker 3: She took one of the names off the tree because
- 27:34Speaker 3: at Walmart, they have a lot of the Salvation Army program.
- 27:37Speaker 2: They don't do that in the city. That's why Winter
- 27:39Speaker 2: Wishes takes over that.
- 27:41Speaker 3: So she just got the lowest grade option for this
- 27:45Speaker 3: girl's wish list on every level. Like, don't grab the
- 27:49Speaker 3: name if you're going to do that.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 27:51Speaker 3: And kind of that's, of course, this is probably a
- 27:53Speaker 3: state I've never been in, somewhere really far away.
- 27:56Speaker 2: It's a completely different program. But at that point, I was, like,
- 27:59Speaker 2: not on my watch.
- 28:00Speaker 3: So I looked up the school, saw how many students,
- 28:02Speaker 3: and I just bought gifts for the entire school.
- 28:04Speaker 2: And then we obviously became close with the principal.
- 28:08Speaker 1: She's amazing.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Because at that point, I also, like, looked at reviews. Like,
- 28:12Speaker 3: I even saw, like, there's amazing websites these days, like,
- 28:15Speaker 3: for these schools that tell you the ratio of girls
- 28:18Speaker 3: to boys or special needs. So I knew exactly what
- 28:22Speaker 3: kind of like Barbies to get because I wanted everybody
- 28:25Speaker 3: to feel like they had something.
- 28:27Speaker 2: So sweet.
- 28:28Speaker 1: It was great.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Like a month ago we did the backpacks as well.
- 28:31Speaker 1: For back to school.
- 28:32Speaker 3: And I went to a school and helped do them
- 28:34Speaker 3: but I also did a lot in my apartment.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I like doing stuff like that. I don't know. I
- 28:39Speaker 2: mean I don't have kids.
- 28:40Speaker 5: I'm the same as you. That's the stuff that like
- 28:45Speaker 5: whenever someone asks what would you be.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Doing if you weren't doing your day to day job
- 28:49Speaker 4: I'm like philanthropy stuff. Like I want to create a
- 28:52Speaker 4: Clyde foundation one day and just working with this foster
- 28:55Speaker 4: family in LA has really opened up my eyes to, okay,
- 28:57Speaker 4: you don't need to go out of the country to
- 28:59Speaker 4: like find kids who really need help. It's like literally
- 29:02Speaker 4: in New York and Los Angeles. And these kids like
- 29:05Speaker 4: touched my heart. Like I, The oldest sibling now lives
- 29:08Speaker 4: in my pool house.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 29:10Speaker 5: Because he aged out. So he just got a job
- 29:12Speaker 5: at an ice cream shop.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Oh, my God. I love that. That's amazing. He's unbelievable.
- 29:16Speaker 4: And he's applying to colleges for spring semester. But these
- 29:20Speaker 4: kids have fully changed my life and just changed the
- 29:22Speaker 4: way I think about stuff. But when you bought all
- 29:24Speaker 4: that stuff off of their Amazon Christmas list, we did
- 29:27Speaker 4: a little Christmas gift opening in my living room. And
- 29:31Speaker 4: these kids got an iPad so they could watch movies
- 29:34Speaker 4: and They've never obviously had an iPad. So I just
- 29:37Speaker 4: want you to know it really was like the most incredible.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Thing.
- 29:40Speaker 4: And every little act of kindness or every little Amazon
- 29:44Speaker 4: purchase goes such a long way.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Like for me, like personally, I do question people's morals
- 29:51Speaker 3: and my position sometimes because it's like the least I
- 29:54Speaker 3: could do. Like I was born in such an insane
- 29:57Speaker 3: situation and Thank God. I also love to shop. I
- 30:01Speaker 3: was definitely meant to be me. But thank God it
- 30:04Speaker 3: was me because I fully judge people that don't. It
- 30:09Speaker 3: makes me sick, honestly. Even people that buy high jewelry
- 30:14Speaker 3: and stuff, I don't buy high jewelry. There's rumors I
- 30:18Speaker 3: buy couture. I don't do that either. I find that
- 30:20Speaker 3: honestly disgusting. It's just like, even if you're matching it
- 30:26Speaker 3: with sending it the same amount you've just spent to
- 30:29Speaker 3: that person or family, it doesn't equal at all. I
- 30:36Speaker 3: find there is a certain limit where it's like disgusting.
- 30:39Speaker 2: And I don't know.
- 30:41Speaker 3: I also credit growing up in San Francisco. I went
- 30:44Speaker 3: to really great schools that really involved us in our community.
- 30:47Speaker 3: I remember I had a babysitter growing up and she
- 30:53Speaker 3: taught me about how important it was to make sure
- 30:56Speaker 3: people had food. And it was, like, a ritual where
- 30:59Speaker 3: we would bring food to the homeless. And even, like,
- 31:03Speaker 3: friends I've had, some Thanksgivings, we'll just, like, cook extra.
- 31:07Speaker 3: And then, like, there's been Thanksgivings where I'm in more
- 31:10Speaker 3: remote areas. Like, I was in Maine for one, and
- 31:12Speaker 3: we drove around, like.
- 31:13Speaker 2: So sweet. Not that, like, Portland is remote, but it's
- 31:16Speaker 2: not New York City. Yeah.
- 31:17Speaker 3: We drove around and would give out meals and stuff.
- 31:21Speaker 3: It's always kind of.
- 31:23Speaker 2: It makes me feel great, but it also feels like....
- 31:28Speaker 5: Why would you not be doing this?
- 31:29Speaker 3: Something would be so deeply wrong with me if I
- 31:31Speaker 3: wasn't at least doing that. And I feel like there's
- 31:34Speaker 3: still so much more I need to do. And I
- 31:38Speaker 3: have such.
- 31:39Speaker 2: A privilege to be able to do that. It's like,
- 31:42Speaker 2: come on.
- 31:42Speaker 5: You came to God's Love last year during Thanksgiving.
- 31:44Speaker 2: I'm going to organize that again.
- 31:45Speaker 3: I think people must be ignorant that don't do it
- 31:48Speaker 3: that are able to. Because I think most people, if
- 31:50Speaker 3: you went in person and saw these situations, A hundred
- 31:54Speaker 3: percent it would be different. Yeah.
- 31:56Speaker 4: God's Love is amazing. I'm going to organize a group
- 31:58Speaker 4: every Thanksgiving. And then there's also City Meals. And Derek
- 32:02Speaker 4: Blasberg usually organizes a big group over the holidays. And
- 32:05Speaker 4: I've gone with him and Nick a couple years in
- 32:07Speaker 4: a row.
- 32:07Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 32:08Speaker 4: And I got to knock on doors of these underprivileged New.
- 32:13Speaker 5: Yorkers who don't really leave their house.
- 32:16Speaker 4: And they don't really leave their apartments. And I'm the
- 32:19Speaker 4: only person that they're interacting with that day. So I
- 32:21Speaker 4: would walk into these apartments that are untouched from the.
- 32:25Speaker 5: 1960s and 70s.
- 32:27Speaker 4: And you walk in and there's these old people who
- 32:30Speaker 4: can't really walk and they're just on their couch and
- 32:32Speaker 4: you bring them a meal. And when they smile, you're like, wow,
- 32:36Speaker 4: like that.
- 32:37Speaker 5: Yeah. It just sticks with you.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Like having those conversations, taking a morning out of your vacation,
- 32:43Speaker 4: your Christmas break to go and do that.
- 32:45Speaker 5: It's unbelievable.
- 32:46Speaker 3: But also like so many people, it's just, horrible twist
- 32:53Speaker 3: of fate there's absolutely nothing I did to be in
- 32:58Speaker 3: this freak accident position I mean like my mom doesn't
- 33:02Speaker 3: come from money she works at a restaurant I'm like
- 33:05Speaker 3: super private about her because she has a completely average
- 33:10Speaker 3: like um salary and my sisters I have two sisters
- 33:16Speaker 3: and we all have my mom but we all have
- 33:18Speaker 3: different dads but we grew up as sisters and They
- 33:20Speaker 3: don't have that situation that I was born into. It's
- 33:23Speaker 3: like constantly I'm so grateful that like why me?
- 33:29Speaker 2: Why is this happening?
- 33:31Speaker 3: But at the same time, so many of these people
- 33:33Speaker 3: are just born to be like to have life fail them.
- 33:39Speaker 3: And they're born with impossible standards to become successful.
- 33:43Speaker 2: And it's not fair.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 33:44Speaker 4: Well, we should chat offline and figure out ways to
- 33:47Speaker 4: work together on our shared interest in doing this stuff.
- 33:54Speaker 5: I mean, it really is the stuff that gives me life.
- 33:57Speaker 4: And if you have a network and if you're privileged
- 34:01Speaker 4: to make changes and.
- 34:04Speaker 5: Really help people and make a difference, then why not?
- 34:06Speaker 2: You should, yeah.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I love it. This is humiliating. I've literally never filmed this.
- 34:13Speaker 2: I would be that bitch on the reality show that's like, fine.
- 34:17Speaker 2: The first episode. No, I'm the same.
- 34:19Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm very emotional, so like, don't get me started.
- 34:22Speaker 1: You knew this was gonna happen?
- 34:24Speaker 2: No, I had to stop.
- 34:25Speaker 4: I was like, okay.
- 34:27Speaker 5: Well, no, it's just because of your big heart.
- 34:29Speaker 2: It's great. No, like, but that's the thing. I feel
- 34:31Speaker 2: like I don't need any praise. Like, this is the
- 34:33Speaker 2: bare minimum.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Like, I wish we didn't even have to give people
- 34:36Speaker 3: praise because I wish that people just did that. Like,
- 34:40Speaker 3: it will so affect me for days if I see
- 34:43Speaker 3: somebody just be unkind for no reason to somebody.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Like, not just, like, necessarily somebody on the streets.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Like, anybody... treating somebody like they're below them. And in
- 34:59Speaker 3: a moment where there's such a hierarchy by societal standards,
- 35:03Speaker 3: like a waiter versus a customer, it really makes like,
- 35:08Speaker 3: I don't care if you're having a bad day.
- 35:10Speaker 2: I've had a bad day as well. Like I don't
- 35:11Speaker 2: do that. Yeah.
- 35:12Speaker 4: The way you treat like people in the service industry,
- 35:16Speaker 4: it says everything about your character.
- 35:17Speaker 1: I thought that was actually one of the first things
- 35:19Speaker 1: I noticed about Ivy when we were doing our interview,
- 35:21Speaker 1: we were at a restaurant and I just think there
- 35:24Speaker 1: are so many people in, you know, positions like this
- 35:27Speaker 1: that aren't nice and they don't hide that they're not
- 35:29Speaker 1: nice to like a service staff, for example. But I
- 35:32Speaker 1: think it's just like such a bare minimum. And it
- 35:37Speaker 1: was one of the first things that I noticed about
- 35:39Speaker 1: Ivy where I was like, okay.
- 35:40Speaker 2: This is good. I want to work with you.
- 35:42Speaker 3: No, like I saw somebody, somebody online said that I
- 35:45Speaker 3: was really mean, not just mean, like the meanest person.
- 35:49Speaker 2: They've ever met.
- 35:50Speaker 3: And I was like, It just truly can't. And my
- 35:52Speaker 3: friends saw it and they were making fun of me
- 35:54Speaker 3: because it was.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Like, it's so not me. It's so not.
- 35:57Speaker 3: But then, like, it's the internet. Anybody, first of all, like,
- 36:01Speaker 3: I'm not good. I feel bad for this person's experience.
- 36:05Speaker 3: But with that said, like, her whole thing was also
- 36:08Speaker 3: talking about other people that have and haven't been nice
- 36:13Speaker 3: and she works in the service industry.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I have no idea what restaurant.
- 36:16Speaker 3: But regardless, it made me feel awful.
- 36:19Speaker 1: So....
- 36:20Speaker 3: Like, I really need to work for the FBI. I
- 36:25Speaker 3: don't know how I ended up on her friend's page
- 36:27Speaker 3: on Twitter.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Or ex. But I somehow. It's the internet.
- 36:31Speaker 3: I see that she shared a link about a dog. Like,
- 36:34Speaker 3: her friend's dog was needing surgery. So, like, I'm not
- 36:38Speaker 3: going to message her. Because who knows how that could
- 36:40Speaker 3: end up. Sometimes people just want to argue. Or sometimes
- 36:43Speaker 3: they don't. But I'm not taking that risk.
- 36:44Speaker 2: For more to possibly be misconstrued. So I just, like.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Paid the whole dog surgery on GoFundMe. I think I
- 36:52Speaker 2: wrote anonymous. Like, they have no idea who did that
- 36:55Speaker 2: to this thing. Well, maybe if they're listening. Now they'll know.
- 36:59Speaker 2: By some weird freak accident. Good karma. You know what?
- 37:03Speaker 5: That is good karma.
- 37:04Speaker 4: Internet trolls will be internet trolls. And you can't, like,
- 37:08Speaker 4: you can't go on Reddit. You can't, like, feed into
- 37:10Speaker 4: that stuff. But, like, you know that you're a good person.
- 37:12Speaker 4: You know that she's a good person. That's why you
- 37:14Speaker 4: guys are working together.
- 37:15Speaker 5: And who cares?
- 37:15Speaker 3: Like.
- 37:17Speaker 5: Anyone who knows your character, it'll shine through.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Yeah. No, for me, like, it's so, it just made me, like,
- 37:26Speaker 3: either think that I'm fixing karma or I'm making up for.
- 37:30Speaker 2: If I was genuinely awful. I'm so sorry. It doesn't
- 37:33Speaker 2: sound real. It doesn't sound real. That's right.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Because there's so many times I want to be a bitch. Like,
- 37:38Speaker 3: I'm so angry that I can't because there's, with me
- 37:42Speaker 3: not doing that, I also get taken advantage of all
- 37:47Speaker 3: the time. And I don't know how, like, I'll be
- 37:50Speaker 3: aware it's happening, but I just, like, it's stressing me
- 37:53Speaker 3: out because I cannot stand up for myself when it
- 37:57Speaker 3: comes to stuff like that.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I'm really bad.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Like, I need somebody to train me how to do
- 38:01Speaker 3: that appropriately.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Well, you got your bodyguard right there. She'll stick up
- 38:05Speaker 5: for you.
- 38:08Speaker 1: I'm not sure I'm the.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you're nothing like that either.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I'm like not somebody who can, yeah.
- 38:14Speaker 3: Claire is like who I'd send in. Savannah's not either.
- 38:17Speaker 3: We need to send in Claire. What's so funny is.
- 38:18Speaker 2: All of us have like different shades of like strawberry blonde,
- 38:22Speaker 2: red hair.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Our whole team.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:24Speaker 2: We look like a weird army whenever like we're going
- 38:27Speaker 2: on set or to like any jobs. It's so amazing.
- 38:30Speaker 1: People do comment on it too.
- 38:31Speaker 5: I can't believe you guys get to work with Savannah
- 38:33Speaker 5: and Claire. I would love to work with them.
- 38:35Speaker 2: They're the best.
- 38:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:38Speaker 4: Okay, well, now to lighten the mood after we've just
- 38:41Speaker 4: talked about some sad stuff and internet bullies.
- 38:45Speaker 5: Since you ladies have.
- 38:46Speaker 4: Been working together, what's the funniest thing that's ever happened
- 38:48Speaker 4: to you while working together?
- 38:50Speaker 1: We were just talking about this.
- 38:51Speaker 2: No, because I know there has to be a genius answer.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I mean, there's been plenty. We went to a T-Pain
- 38:58Speaker 1: concert together.
- 38:59Speaker 2: T-Pain. TBT.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Okay, by the way, I love going to concerts. It's
- 39:02Speaker 3: just like every ticket I've bought, I... Don't realize that, like,
- 39:07Speaker 3: I'm not going to be.
- 39:08Speaker 2: There on that date.
- 39:08Speaker 3: But for whatever reason, I've seen T-Pain three times without
- 39:12Speaker 3: buying the ticket or trying.
- 39:13Speaker 2: To in the past three years.
- 39:14Speaker 1: It was a good time.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Because his friend, my old boss at Paper Magazine, then
- 39:18Speaker 2: became his manager.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Oh, fun.
- 39:20Speaker 2: So then he was at the Webster and asked if
- 39:22Speaker 2: I wanted to see him. I'm like, of course. Second
- 39:25Speaker 2: time was with you. Third time was at the Jazz
- 39:27Speaker 2: Festival in New Orleans. We love T-Pain. He's great. He's great.
- 39:30Speaker 2: He's like my main musician.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure during Fashion Weeks there's been plenty
- 39:37Speaker 1: of ridiculous scenarios.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Yes. Well, you'll remember. I'm not like... No, no, I know.
- 39:44Speaker 1: I just can't think of anything specific. I just feel
- 39:46Speaker 1: like we're kind of always like.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Running around during Fashion Week, I mean.
- 39:52Speaker 2: I mean, on a regular, I'd say like the funnier,
- 39:56Speaker 2: that's not a word, is it? Yeah. The more funny
- 39:59Speaker 2: things that happened are not during Fashion Week. It's like
- 40:04Speaker 2: at home.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. What about, we can edit this out
- 40:08Speaker 1: if you don't want to talk about it. The car
- 40:11Speaker 1: ride back from, I can't remember what show it was
- 40:13Speaker 1: when you saw like your idol and you couldn't stop crying.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Oh my God. Oh yes.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Yes.
- 40:19Speaker 2: This is going to come across like I'm crying all
- 40:22Speaker 2: the time.
- 40:23Speaker 1: No, but I've never seen somebody cry out of happiness
- 40:27Speaker 1: from seeing someone that they admired so much.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Like, I grew up at my grandparents' house and there was, like,
- 40:32Speaker 3: always famous, my grandma used to host these Sunday night
- 40:35Speaker 3: dinners and, like, if an actor was in town, like,
- 40:38Speaker 3: they were eating the Sunday night dinner at my house.
- 40:41Speaker 2: So, like, being.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Starstruck is very specific for me. Not like I'm too
- 40:48Speaker 3: cool for it, like, Obviously, like, I will freak out.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:52Speaker 3: But this was somebody I just didn't even consider ever meeting.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:56Speaker 1: But we were just in the car on the way
- 40:57Speaker 1: back from the show.
- 40:58Speaker 2: I didn't even know his name. I just knew him.
- 40:59Speaker 1: She started sobbing.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Well, I waited because we're at the Stella McCartney show.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Yeah. And first of all, I have the same, like,
- 41:05Speaker 2: bodyguard and driver in Paris.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Every time.
- 41:07Speaker 2: I'm so close with them. Like, we've been through. We're.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Way past the line of agreement.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Like, they're just so.
- 41:13Speaker 1: They're amazing.
- 41:14Speaker 2: They're kind of like. They're family. A mother and father, yes.
- 41:16Speaker 2: We love them. So they've also never seen me like this.
- 41:19Speaker 2: So everybody's in shock when this happens.
- 41:20Speaker 3: But I am sitting across from somebody at the Selma
- 41:25Speaker 3: McCartney show.
- 41:25Speaker 2: And I'm like, why does he look so familiar?
- 41:28Speaker 3: And it's bothering me because I'm like, I know this
- 41:32Speaker 3: man has impacted my life.
- 41:35Speaker 2: And then it hits me.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Out of the blue, like as the show is ending,
- 41:38Speaker 3: everybody's getting up and the models just did the final walk.
- 41:42Speaker 3: And I'm like, I can't ask anybody or make sure
- 41:46Speaker 3: until I am in the car and we're leaving because
- 41:48Speaker 3: I don't.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Think I can handle this. Because I'm going to start crying.
- 41:50Speaker 2: And it's very rare.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Like, if I don't think I can handle it, which
- 41:55Speaker 3: has happened before, like, I will leave the building. Like,
- 41:57Speaker 3: I've literally turned around at parties and just walked out.
- 41:59Speaker 3: So I'm like, I will freak out.
- 42:03Speaker 2: And so.
- 42:03Speaker 1: And we get into the car and she looks it
- 42:08Speaker 1: up to confirm that it's the person. And she starts...
- 42:12Speaker 1: I mean, it was like a full body reaction. And
- 42:15Speaker 1: Claire and I were in the car with her. And
- 42:17Speaker 1: also our driver was like, hey, like, is she okay?
- 42:19Speaker 1: And we were like, I'm not sure.
- 42:20Speaker 2: They all were trying not to laugh because I was hysterical.
- 42:23Speaker 3: But we were.
- 42:23Speaker 2: We were hysterically laughing.
- 42:24Speaker 1: And filming me at the same time. I was recording
- 42:26Speaker 1: her because I was like, she.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Didn't know any of that. My head is out the window.
- 42:31Speaker 3: I like with the tiny crack that it opens because
- 42:33Speaker 3: we're in one of those like fancy vans.
- 42:36Speaker 1: It's become an inside joke, I will say. Just, like,
- 42:39Speaker 1: thinking about that moment. Like, we have the videos and
- 42:41Speaker 1: the screenshots from it that we send in the group chat.
- 42:44Speaker 2: And then also, like, I find out that, like, he's
- 42:47Speaker 2: been in multiple movies I've seen. I just didn't recognize
- 42:49Speaker 2: him in the movies.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Like.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Yeah, he's not.
- 42:52Speaker 1: I would say he's not even really an A-list. Like, no,
- 42:55Speaker 1: you know, he's not... It's Richard E.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Grant from Spice World.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Spice World was really important.
- 43:01Speaker 2: The cast of Spice World is incredible. That movie, I mean.
- 43:09Speaker 3: Holy, if I were to meet a Spice Girl, I can't.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Like I think we've.
- 43:16Speaker 3: Not gone to Victoria Beckham's show because I think I'm
- 43:19Speaker 3: scared if I could handle it.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Because I would be so excited.
- 43:23Speaker 4: I got put on text with a Spice Girl who
- 43:25Speaker 4: needed an assistant and I almost fell over because that
- 43:28Speaker 4: was like my era of growing up. And now I'm like,
- 43:33Speaker 4: I wish I could go back in time and like
- 43:34Speaker 4: shake young Megan and.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Be like, you're going to meet a Spice Girl.
- 43:38Speaker 5: It was, she was lovely.
- 43:40Speaker 3: It was.
- 43:40Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 43:41Speaker 5: But it was, you know, it was a cool moment.
- 43:43Speaker 5: I can totally relate. Like, there's people from my childhood
- 43:45Speaker 5: that I'm like.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Yeah. Whoa. Yeah, like, it's just kind of an impact
- 43:49Speaker 3: that it left on you.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Yeah, 100%.
- 43:53Speaker 5: That's amazing.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Anyways. I'm really emotional about that.
- 43:58Speaker 4: What advice would you give a boss and an assistant?
- 44:04Speaker 4: What advice would you give them? to succeed in their
- 44:07Speaker 4: relationship working together? What have you found like the most
- 44:11Speaker 4: helpful or the key to success?
- 44:14Speaker 1: I think open communication is really important. I think Ivy
- 44:21Speaker 1: and I communicate really well. Boundaries are obviously important, but
- 44:27Speaker 1: I would say like because of how close we are
- 44:30Speaker 1: in age and just in general, they're so broad. blurred.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Like it's not a boss assistant relationship as much as
- 44:38Speaker 1: it would be in like the business world. So I think, um,
- 44:43Speaker 1: like just knowing the person and respecting the person is
- 44:48Speaker 1: really important.
- 44:48Speaker 2: I think patience.
- 44:49Speaker 3: Obviously I don't have any, she has it, but somebody
- 44:53Speaker 3: in the relationship needs to have it.
- 44:54Speaker 2: It doesn't matter which one.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I would agree. I don't know. I think like,
- 45:00Speaker 1: also if it's not the right fit, I think that
- 45:04Speaker 1: you can leave. Like, I think no, like having the
- 45:08Speaker 1: right fit for an assistant is really important. Like working
- 45:12Speaker 1: well with that person. Like if we didn't like each other,
- 45:15Speaker 1: I think that would be really hard.
- 45:17Speaker 3: And I also like, I want her like for me,
- 45:21Speaker 3: I don't even, it's like an equal relationship. I don't
- 45:24Speaker 3: want her to feel like she has to miss important
- 45:27Speaker 3: things in her life because of me. So like, if
- 45:31Speaker 3: anything important, like I want, it to almost be treated, like,
- 45:35Speaker 3: I don't want her to feel afraid to ask me
- 45:37Speaker 3: if she can go home to.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Like, her sister just had a baby, you know?
- 45:41Speaker 5: Congrats, Auntie.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 45:42Speaker 2: I'm not going to be like, be back by 4 p.m.
- 45:46Speaker 4: Right.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Take as long as you need. Like, hello.
- 45:49Speaker 3: It's not like I'm, like, running the world. Like, I have,
- 45:53Speaker 3: I can figure it out for the time being.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Yeah, she's always been really good about that.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Very sweet.
- 45:58Speaker 4: Well, I think what you said of it, like, sometimes
- 46:01Speaker 4: it's a fit, sometimes it's not a fit, and There
- 46:04Speaker 4: are times where we give someone an assistant and it
- 46:06Speaker 4: doesn't work out and the assistant might take it very personally.
- 46:09Speaker 5: I'm like, don't take it personally.
- 46:10Speaker 2: It's like dating.
- 46:11Speaker 3: Sometimes the person's team doesn't like them and makes them stop.
- 46:15Speaker 5: It's not always the person.
- 46:16Speaker 4: There's so many moving parts and because these jobs are so.
- 46:19Speaker 5: Intimate, sometimes it's just not a fit. Sometimes it's a
- 46:21Speaker 5: great fit. Three years.
- 46:24Speaker 3: I love it.
- 46:25Speaker 5: Well, thank you guys for coming on. This has been
- 46:27Speaker 5: so fun.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks for having us.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Of course.
- 46:29Speaker 5: Good luck with Fashion Week.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Don't be scared.
- 46:31Speaker 5: It's going to be great.
- 46:32Speaker 1: All right.
- 46:33Speaker 5: Thank you, guys.
