- 0:05SPEAKER_03: Welcome to yet another exciting episode of the Steve and Jeff Show.
- 0:09SPEAKER_03: I'm Steve.
- 0:10SPEAKER_03: And I'm Jeff.
- 0:10SPEAKER_03: How's it going, Steve?
- 0:11SPEAKER_03: Oh, Jeff, Jeff.
- 0:12SPEAKER_03: This podcast.
- 0:14SPEAKER_03: This podcast is happening.
- 0:16SPEAKER_03: Let me tell you, it is happening.
- 0:17SPEAKER_03: Great stuff's happening on Steveandjeff.com.
- 0:19SPEAKER_03: And this podcast is available wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 0:22SPEAKER_03: Well, not that one.
- 0:24SPEAKER_03: The one that has the show, that guy, uh John Retch, I think is his name.
- 0:27SPEAKER_03: And and oh, and that other one that talks about romance at night, uh Defilia, I think is her name.
- 0:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we're not on that one, but but everywhere else, everywhere else you could listen to podcasts, we're there, Jeff.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: I was Ubering yesterday, and I cannot tell you how many people who got into the car were going to mention our show.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: I could tell they wanted to mention it.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: It's a little embarrassing.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they're they're really shy.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: And you know, and I tell them, I tell them, go on, express yourself.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: Tell me how much you love us.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: There are Steve.
- 0:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think soon they'll probably uh be able to verbalize it.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: But for now, I know they're paying attention.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: It's very exciting.
- 1:06SPEAKER_03: I I I think it's kind of a training thing.
- 1:08SPEAKER_03: I think they once their comfort level is raised, then they'll be able to say that really how much they do love us.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: And you know, Jeff, we know they do.
- 1:17SPEAKER_03: We know they do.
- 1:17SPEAKER_03: I mean, come on, right?
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: Well, they do, and I I think I probably play a role in that because you know, I'm not a real good driver.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: So, you know, they're probably a little distracted by group or so.
- 1:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there you go.
- 1:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, you know, we would expect that.
- 1:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, right, right.
- 1:30SPEAKER_03: But Jeff, Jeff, just to show you how this show is moving, this show is happening, this podcast is relevant, this podcast is trend setting, this podcast is cutting edge, this podcast is bleeding edge.
- 1:43SPEAKER_03: We've got an emerging comedian tonight, and this this guy is about to hit it big.
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: I can tell you, I've heard his stuff.
- 1:50SPEAKER_03: I heard his set the other night.
- 1:51SPEAKER_03: I forget the name of the club, but it, you know, there was this guy uh urinating on the door outside.
- 1:56SPEAKER_03: I forget the name of the place, but but I saw his set was really good.
- 1:59SPEAKER_03: You know, and he's here tonight, Jeff.
- 2:01SPEAKER_03: He's about to hit the victim, and he's actually here.
- 2:03SPEAKER_03: This is how this is how big he's gonna hit.
- 2:06SPEAKER_03: By the way, they're right over on the other side.
- 2:07SPEAKER_03: They're gonna tap the glass here.
- 2:08SPEAKER_03: See, and right on the other side, he's there with his lawyer.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: That's how big this guy is.
- 2:15SPEAKER_03: He brings his lawyer on the show, right?
- 2:17SPEAKER_03: Let me introduce you to the emerging comedian Tommy Andrews and entertainment lawyer Brittany May.
- 2:23SPEAKER_03: Hi, guys, how you doing?
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Good evening, gentlemen.
- 2:26SPEAKER_03: Hey, absolutely.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: She sounds like an entertainment lawyer, doesn't she?
- 2:28SPEAKER_03: Wow, that's good.
- 2:30SPEAKER_03: I'm entertained, that's for sure.
- 2:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and and it should be against the law.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: A lot of people say I sound like Shakira.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's what I'm thinking of.
- 2:38SPEAKER_03: That's why you're entertained, I bet.
- 2:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so so so Tommy, Tommy, an emerging comedian, and we've got him on this show before he's really hitting the big time.
- 2:46SPEAKER_03: You're you're about to hit the big time.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: You got you got a show coming up, right?
- 2:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, I do.
- 2:50SPEAKER_04: I can't talk much about it.
- 2:52SPEAKER_04: I am allowed to.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Yo, you can.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: You just tell tell him about the crackle thing.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
- 2:57SPEAKER_04: So there is there is something that we will do on crackle soon.
- 3:00SPEAKER_04: Am I allowed to mention the title?
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: I I thought it was a work in progress, but you, I mean, I think I don't think Sony will like sue us or anything.
- 3:08SPEAKER_03: Jeff, Jeff, this is exciting.
- 3:09SPEAKER_03: We're getting inside news here.
- 3:11SPEAKER_03: This is so cool.
- 3:12SPEAKER_03: This is so cool, Jeff.
- 3:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so just I just talked to my lawyer, and the the show is actually called Talk to My Lawyer.
- 3:18SPEAKER_03: Oh that works out well, doesn't it?
- 3:22SPEAKER_03: Perfect.
- 3:22SPEAKER_03: And it's it's a it's a comedy show.
- 3:24SPEAKER_03: So it's the is is the lawyer is kind of the straight man, or is the lawyer is the lawyer funny too?
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Uh am I the schlemeel or the schlamozzle?
- 3:32SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: That's what I meant to say.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Uh well, the schlemeel is the one that spills the soup, and the schlamozzle's the one that gets the soup off the side.
- 3:42SPEAKER_03: That's it with the soup, right?
- 3:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Oh man.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Uh uh, I I think all throughout life I've been more of a schlamozzle.
- 3:48SPEAKER_03: Maybe it's the kind of show where they're kind of bimozzled, you know, they kind of go back and forth, if you will.
- 3:53SPEAKER_03: They they go both ways, if you know what I mean.
- 3:56SPEAKER_03: I mean, maybe maybe it's that kind of show.
- 3:57SPEAKER_03: I uh you know, I don't know.
- 3:59SPEAKER_03: It sounds sounds interesting.
- 4:00SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be on they say it's gonna be on on crackle, is it?
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, the you know crackle, the up-and-coming Sony-owned streaming platform almost as big as Netflix.
- 4:12SPEAKER_03: Almost, I'll tell you.
- 4:14SPEAKER_03: That is so exciting because a show like ours, you know, you know those big time shows like that that MMA fighter guy, you know?
- 4:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, he can't get guys on crackle, they're looking, they they're they're getting like the guys that are already have their HBO specials.
- 4:25SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, we're getting the guys before they get the HBO special.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: That's it's very special, it's very special, it's very HBO.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: I guess my first question is can I speak directly to Tommy or do I need to ask the questions to you, Brittany, as his attorney to see if he can answer?
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: I just want to know the rules of the road here.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Just pretend I'm not here.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm just here for like liability and risk management.
- 4:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, she's definitely not here.
- 4:52SPEAKER_04: Um I'm here, but if there's a difficult question, you'll have to definitely talk to my lawyer about it.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Remember what we went over, but go ahead.
- 5:00SPEAKER_04: Gotcha.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: So wait, so how many of us are here and how many of us aren't here?
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: I'm here.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: I'm here, but you just gotta pretend I'm not here.
- 5:08SPEAKER_03: We're all here, but one of us isn't here in quotes, right?
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: A lot of air, a lot of air quotes for an audio show.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: I'll jump in from time to time, but please enjoy Mr.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: Andrews.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Ah, yes, yes.
- 5:23SPEAKER_04: I can I can talk a little bit more about the show.
- 5:26SPEAKER_04: I don't want to give away too much of my routine, and then there's no reason to look at the show.
- 5:31SPEAKER_03: That wouldn't be fair to crack.
- 5:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but you know, I know it probably throws people off that I that I operate 24-7 these days with my lawyer right next to me.
- 5:40SPEAKER_04: Um, but there are definitely risks.
- 5:42SPEAKER_04: You know, I'm I'm not a normal guy anymore.
- 5:43SPEAKER_04: I can't just go hang out at the bar.
- 5:45SPEAKER_04: You know, if two people get in a fight at the bar and I'm there and I'm famous, well, I'm gonna get sued.
- 5:50SPEAKER_03: Oh, absolutely.
- 5:51SPEAKER_03: You know, the world has really changed.
- 5:52SPEAKER_03: And you know, people, once you're famous, you really can't get away with the stuff you used to get away with, you know.
- 5:58SPEAKER_03: It just, it's just it's not, it's really it's not fair.
- 6:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's walking apart.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: Well, I know Steve, you and I, we can't go anywhere anymore.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I feel like my dad, you know, my dad has that restraining order where he can't go to a lot of places, and for me, it's kind of like that too.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: You know, I try to go to places and I there's crowds of people everywhere.
- 6:17SPEAKER_02: And uh, you know, I know they're there for me, you know.
- 6:19SPEAKER_03: Oh, Jeff, you remember remember I I got mobbed getting off the plane at Randolph Scott Airport there in uh suburban LA, you know?
- 6:26SPEAKER_03: That's one of those cowboy stars.
- 6:27SPEAKER_03: I think Randolph Scott, I don't know, whatever.
- 6:30SPEAKER_04: Uh it sounds like you guys are are running into the same famous problems.
- 6:33SPEAKER_04: I I I I know a really good lawyer.
- 6:36SPEAKER_03: Would that be Britney May over here?
- 6:38SPEAKER_03: It is, it is you know, you know, Jeff, as we hit the big time, we we need a big time entertainment lawyer, you know.
- 6:46SPEAKER_03: We really do.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, I kind of step in at crucial moments when he's out and about uh in the clubs with all the ladies.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Sure, it's it's cause well.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Technically, I think Congress recently is going through some uh legislation that is trying to snuff out NDAs, particularly when they're used to cover up wrongdoing, but that's not what we're doing, right, Tommy?
- 7:14SPEAKER_04: There's no wrongdoing.
- 7:15SPEAKER_04: You can ask my lawyer.
- 7:16SPEAKER_03: Right, and if there was, we couldn't say, right?
- 7:19SPEAKER_03: Because we we got the NDA, right?
- 7:20SPEAKER_04: So they signed, they signed up.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Oh well, are you going to sleep with Steven Chef?
- 7:26SPEAKER_04: No, not that one.
- 7:27SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, it's good to have a few NDAs because you know, uh disclosing ain't disclosing, you know what I mean?
- 7:35SPEAKER_03: Uh you disclose a kind all kinds of things, so yeah, it's good to have a few.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: I mean, I try to move away from the NDA just because there's some aspects of it that flirt with unconscionability, and so what I try to do as Tommy's lawyer by his side 24-7 is I just try to vet the various women throwing themselves at him.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: And you know, I just pull them aside and have like a real woman heart to heart about like, hey, Tommy's interested in uh, you know, having you as a sexual partner this evening.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: He has a real enviable position to be in.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: But uh there's just a few things you should know going in.
- 8:18SPEAKER_03: How good to have somebody like that really kind of to do your negotiating, to make the deals, I which you know that's why you get a lawyer is to do that negotiating, to make those deals and to buffer you, if you will, from what could happen.
- 8:30SPEAKER_04: The process is pretty cool because once uh we've established that I have consent, then she has to sign a few forms.
- 8:39SPEAKER_04: Pretty simple process.
- 8:40SPEAKER_04: We've sped it up over the last few weeks.
- 8:42SPEAKER_04: There's forms, then there's um samples, biological samples of before and after.
- 8:47SPEAKER_04: And she does a really good job of getting the form signed, collecting the samples, so assessment cups in my purse, just in my NPI.
- 8:55SPEAKER_03: So not only not only a lawyer, but like a like a nurse, one could say too, right?
- 8:59SPEAKER_03: You ever talk to my lawyer about it?
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, I I I'm I'm not sure.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: I'm not I they took my license away.
- 9:05SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, okay.
- 9:06SPEAKER_03: Well, but but you still have the knowledge, they can't take that away from you, right?
- 9:10SPEAKER_03: You still know how to do it.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: I know how to collect a cup of piss.
- 9:15SPEAKER_03: I have trouble doing that.
- 9:16SPEAKER_03: I gotta tell you, I miss every time.
- 9:18SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 9:19SPEAKER_03: Just see the place, my wife.
- 9:20SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh, don't even don't even start her on that.
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: But but uh I'm not saying Brittany that you wouldn't be a valuable asset for us, but Steve, I think we're looking for people for a lawyer that maybe is more proactive as opposed to qualifying and restricting, you know, just feels like maybe we need somebody with you know who's a little more user-friendly, like a lawyer that could let us do all the bad stuff and help us do all stuff and show us because I haven't done bad stuff for a long time.
- 9:50SPEAKER_03: Because you know, it's been so many years since I did bad stuff.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: I've read it, I'm not sure I remember how to do it, you know.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, I'm not your guys' lawyer, but I mean, I just want to, you know, help manage your expectations as you go out and shop for an entertainment lawyer.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, any lawyer with a license worth their salt, they're not gonna help you carry out a crime.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, every day I am constantly helping Tommy not commit crimes.
- 10:22SPEAKER_03: That's great.
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: Well, and and redefining the action as not a crime, I'd say that's an important work of a lawyer, let me tell you.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: That really is well, let's say, for instance, Tommy, you you like to tie women up, right?
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: And so basically, I just like every once in a while we do we do a little refresher of like what you can and can't do in that scenario, and how you want to avoid a false imprisonment charge, right?
- 10:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, right, right.
- 10:49SPEAKER_04: I definitely don't want that.
- 10:51SPEAKER_04: Uh the other one I actually worried about, uh, the reason I actually came to Brittany was because um I was really concerned about jaywalking.
- 10:59SPEAKER_04: I I am a I'm a serial jaywalker.
- 11:01SPEAKER_04: Sometimes it's quicker to just I just walk wherever I am.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: I don't care, you know.
- 11:06SPEAKER_04: And as the famous party, I don't want to be hit by a car and be sued by the the driver.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: You made me hit you because you why yeah.
- 11:15SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 11:15SPEAKER_04: I was starstruck and then you hit me.
- 11:17SPEAKER_04: And I and I I was like, well, if that happens, what what do I do?
- 11:20SPEAKER_03: Well I I I gotta ask, Tommy.
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, it seems like you're maybe giving this a lot more thought than most comics.
- 11:27SPEAKER_03: Most comics just kind of fall into it and then make the mistakes and get in trouble.
- 11:31SPEAKER_03: Did you have some trouble that kind of let you think, hey, I better be a little smarter about this than than most guys, or what?
- 11:37SPEAKER_04: I probably shouldn't talk about talk about the the oh go on, Tommy.
- 11:42SPEAKER_03: All right, nobody's listening.
- 11:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's fine.
- 11:44SPEAKER_03: She said it's fine.
- 11:45SPEAKER_03: Our lists really can keep a secret, they really can.
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: Totally.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: And just you know, Tommy, if you if you're hesitant to say something, just use air quotes.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: Ah, okay.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: Then you're pretty much free.
- 11:57SPEAKER_02: That's what I do.
- 11:58SPEAKER_03: Just audio though, like how but the listeners at home can tell when you're going like this.
- 12:05SPEAKER_04: They know that I'm doing it now.
- 12:06SPEAKER_04: Here and there.
- 12:07SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 12:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's good.
- 12:08SPEAKER_04: So all right.
- 12:09SPEAKER_04: I I I fudged it a little bit.
- 12:11SPEAKER_04: I wasn't as concerned about the jaywalking.
- 12:13SPEAKER_04: The real thing happened before I jaywalked.
- 12:16SPEAKER_04: So there was a young lady at a bar, and um she for some reason thought I'd be excited to see the picture of her dog.
- 12:26SPEAKER_04: I do love dogs, but it's not my dog, I'm not as excited.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: I mean it's nice.
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: Now when you say uh Tommy, I don't mean to interrupt, but when you're saying showing a picture of her dog, is is dog in air quotes?
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: No, we're we're we're talking a pet, right?
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: Oh, a real oh, a real dog.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 12:41SPEAKER_03: That's not like a euphemism, right?
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: That's not okay.
- 12:44SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 12:44SPEAKER_03: Okay, no, I'm gonna no, I get you.
- 12:47SPEAKER_03: Okay, I was gonna say, wow, she right just showed you a picture right there.
- 12:50SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah, you know, yeah, a lot of bars every single day.
- 12:54SPEAKER_04: I I think I can say uh so the pictures of her dog were on her doggy can at back in her place.
- 13:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:01SPEAKER_04: Um, well, one thing led to another, and we went back to her place.
- 13:06SPEAKER_04: Well, I thought just to see the dog, right?
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: You know, because you gotta see the dog live.
- 13:10SPEAKER_03: I mean, once you've seen the picture, right, right, right.
- 13:12SPEAKER_04: The goal was to see the dog.
- 13:14SPEAKER_03: Oh, sure.
- 13:14SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 13:15SPEAKER_03: Well, uh, and that is a euphemism, but but I digress, but go ahead.
- 13:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:19SPEAKER_04: Uh I could say uh I'm not gonna be specific, but relations happened.
- 13:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:25SPEAKER_04: And um about halfway through, I look up and I see the little green light.
- 13:30SPEAKER_04: Uh and I realize that I'm having sex on doggy camp.
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: Ooh.
- 13:35SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 13:36SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you, canines worldwide are watching that video, they're passing along on dog tube, and they're just it's just going viral, you know?
- 13:44SPEAKER_03: It's it's going crazy.
- 13:45SPEAKER_04: I I believe it's called Doggy Style.
- 13:47SPEAKER_03: Doggy style, yeah.
- 13:48SPEAKER_03: I think that's a good thing.
- 13:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, sure.
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, sure.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm familiar with it.
- 13:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you you were completely surprised, kind of backed into that situation, I would imagine.
- 13:56SPEAKER_02: Is that is that fair to say?
- 13:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he really fell on all fours, I think, too.
- 14:01SPEAKER_04: I definitely did.
- 14:02SPEAKER_04: I definitely did.
- 14:03SPEAKER_04: Well, I didn't I didn't want to be blackmailed and have to give over a bunch of money for no reason, so I handed a smaller chunk to the break.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so really, I mean, with something like this, you know, you know, you got something out in the open.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: You don't know what what can come of it, you know.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: Post has just maybe got a gag order.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: So gag order.
- 14:25SPEAKER_03: Well, and gag, and that would fit right in with tying her up, is you typically probably have a gag when you're tying her up.
- 14:30SPEAKER_04: I can confirm both happened, yes.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it kind of reminds me what was that movie Steve back in the 60s?
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: Was it Canine Knowledge?
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: Canal knowledge?
- 14:39SPEAKER_03: The Jack Nicholson, yeah.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, with Jack Nicholson, Robert Culp.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: Was it Robert uh I think it could be?
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: No, it might have been a different one.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: But yeah, so was that the name of the of the did they record that as a video or was it just a live cam?
- 14:53SPEAKER_03: Well, I think it was the first film that was completely shot on doggy cam.
- 14:57SPEAKER_03: And it it was 1970.
- 14:59SPEAKER_03: I mean, nobody was using doggy cam back then as a system.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's right.
- 15:02SPEAKER_03: They were way pioneers.
- 15:04SPEAKER_03: I mean, this is that's right, 30 years ahead of their time.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: I mean, that was I didn't even think doggy style existed back then.
- 15:10SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, no, yeah, it existed not with me.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, my my yeah, my my dad showed me some, yeah, you know, it it's been around for a while.
- 15:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but I digress.
- 15:18SPEAKER_03: But but yeah, you know, you know, uh Tommy and Brittany, we've got a whole lot more that we want to cover.
- 15:24SPEAKER_03: But uh Jeff, I gotta tell you, we have a repeat sponsor.
- 15:29SPEAKER_03: Wonderful.
- 15:30SPEAKER_03: And and I'll tell you, we what an appropriate sponsor for a show where we're talking about someone who maybe Pat Smart.
- 15:36SPEAKER_03: Well, no, no, you're close.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: You're close.
- 15:38SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 15:38SPEAKER_03: Very appropriate for somebody who's who's maybe concerned about getting sued for relations, uh relationships, you know.
- 15:45SPEAKER_03: And this uh it might be a product that hey would even would even fit in.
- 15:49SPEAKER_03: It's uh from our good friends at Farmer Brute, you know, and uh they're good people on both sides of Farmer Brute, I guess.
- 15:55SPEAKER_03: And of course they wanted to run another ad.
- 15:57SPEAKER_03: You know, they were they were a little mad because you know, I just figure I should treat them like they treat everybody else.
- 16:04SPEAKER_03: And so I always jack the price up on their commercial.
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: So they've been a little mad about that, but they they kind of came around and said, all right, you know, your show's taking off.
- 16:11SPEAKER_03: We really want to run another ad.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: And so uh they're gonna run another ad for uh perma ace.
- 16:16SPEAKER_03: Oh, Jeff, I think we should uh let's just uh let's just go to commercial.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: Are you still wasting all your time looking for a partner with nothing to show for it?
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: Do you envy your asexual friends because their days are not consumed by thoughts of sex?
- 16:34SPEAKER_03: You can ease the pain of trying to hook up with a simple pill we call permace.
- 16:39SPEAKER_03: Permaace takes away your desire to hook up, it frees up your time and your mind so you can finally spend time on self-improvement.
- 16:49SPEAKER_03: Become a tennis star, a martial arts expert, even a commercial voiceover professional.
- 16:55SPEAKER_03: Wait.
- 16:56SPEAKER_03: Uh anyway, listen to some of these satisfied customers.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: My job is so demanding that I never had time for dating.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: I used to hate that, but now permace lets me work 24-7 without a thought about dating.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: I'm due for promotion soon.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Thanks, Permace.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: My spouse was so demanding.
- 17:15SPEAKER_03: I used to resent him, but now we both take permace and we get along just fine.
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: I used to hate everyone I saw out on dates.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: I still do, but with permaids, it's now more of a general dislike.
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: Find out for yourself.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: Take the 42-day permeates challenge.
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: Use permeates every day for six weeks, and if you still feel a libido, we'll send you your money back.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: So what do you have to lose other than a string of dreadful dates and hours wasted thinking about sex?
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: Set your mind and your time free with permeates.
- 17:50SPEAKER_03: Use of permeates by some persons can cause a dangerous condition called automotive dysphagia.
- 17:55SPEAKER_03: Stop use of the product if you feel a physical attraction to mid-60s cars.
- 17:59SPEAKER_03: Do not use it if you are currently on MOLLE because, come on.
- 18:03SPEAKER_03: Possible side effects include sudden death, which could be a permanent condition.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: Some patients in clinical studies developed an obsession with baking or with PBS documentaries.
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: Not recommended for patients over 60.
- 18:15SPEAKER_03: You know why, right?
- 18:17SPEAKER_03: Permace may be less effective if used in combination with THC and smooth jazz.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: So try permace and take hooking up worries off the hook.
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: Boy, I'll tell you, sometimes there is a pharmaceutical cure for whatever ails you, you know.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: If Tommy started taking that, I'd be out of a job probably.
- 18:42SPEAKER_03: Oh, well, we wouldn't want that now.
- 18:44SPEAKER_03: And and I and I bet if you know, if you were taking this, you probably it might affect your comedy, you know, because you wouldn't get into so many comedic adventures that you'd be able to talk about.
- 18:54SPEAKER_04: That's that's absolutely 100% true.
- 18:56SPEAKER_04: Part part of one thing I'm able to tap into is my own foolishness.
- 19:00SPEAKER_04: And yeah.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: Well, Tom, Tommy, I think where we left off before the commercial, you were gonna go into very, very graphic details of that experience that you were that you were going through.
- 19:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, for lurid pay nine knowledge detail.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah, lurid.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: So uh yeah, the dog, yeah.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: I'm ready to go.
- 19:22SPEAKER_03: It was a doggy bed.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry to be a wet blanket, but you know, we don't want to like teeter on the obscene.
- 19:31SPEAKER_03: We don't want to just no reason to teeter, we can just dive right in, you know.
- 19:35SPEAKER_03: I'll say what happens.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: Well, let's like let's are we going to violate community standards?
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: And is this purely for Purian purposes or oh that's it that's Purians?
- 19:46SPEAKER_03: That's the that's the people that are attracted to cats, you know.
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: That's a weird fetish.
- 19:50SPEAKER_03: I gotta tell you, it's a really weird fetish.
- 19:52SPEAKER_03: But yeah, and if we're gonna be able to do it, mid 60s cars, I understand, but cats, yeah.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and Brittany, I mean, I know you're kind of there to protect him, but even bringing up wet blankets kind of tells me that you're interested as well.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Oh, is that does that arouse you people?
- 20:07SPEAKER_03: Well, I I gotta tell you, I'm a little more aroused by the purient than by the wet blanket because that kind of makes me rem reminds me of when I was a kid, and you know, I the blanket was wet a lot when I was little, you know.
- 20:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean you know how okay, Tommy.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: I mean, I guess go where you want to go with this.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: Just know that you know, if we get hit by the the FCC, you know, we call we we call them the F the F U C C over here, but yeah, that's we're gonna have to shoot someone's husband.
- 20:34SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's what's the what's the big deal?
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, oh my god, and he said it on our show, Jeff.
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: Wow, wow.
- 20:40SPEAKER_03: So if there's a trial, they'll play this episode.
- 20:43SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh, we'll get so many, we'll get so many stats.
- 20:46SPEAKER_03: Oh, Google epithetics will be you know falling over themselves with the stats.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Mommy may have shot someone, it was in self-defense, I was with his wife, and if it happens again, he's got second amendment insurance this time.
- 21:02SPEAKER_03: Ah, yes.
- 21:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, second amendment.
- 21:04SPEAKER_03: So he moved he moved to Texas, so yeah, shoot away.
- 21:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: Is that insurance expensive?
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: I don't know what it does include like damage to your car and stuff.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, really, it's supposed to provide legal defense in the event that you shoot someone and you need to sure uh bring up a self-defense argument in court.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm I'm but an entertainment lawyer, I just look at the contracts, don't put me in a courtroom.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: I think their Second Amendment insurance has like a five thousand dollar comprehensive if you know you dan your car.
- 21:35SPEAKER_04: Does it that's the deductible?
- 21:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, if you're killing somebody and and your car gets standard, they'll fix it.
- 21:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but you got me the one with zero deductible.
- 21:42SPEAKER_04: Oh, I'm just walking around like a nice that's nice.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: Wow, that's good.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: The car's not on trial for shooting anyone.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: No, no, no.
- 21:50SPEAKER_02: And we when you say shoot, you have air quotes on that too, don't you, Tommy?
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: Because it's you know it's the air quotes.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: Okay, you're covered.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Or an air rifle, maybe.
- 22:01SPEAKER_04: Uh, for anyone, anyone else that's famous like you guys.
- 22:04SPEAKER_04: Like I said, I I know a really good lawyer because you know, none of us want to end up on the list like Bill Cosby, oh yeah, OJ, Bill Specter, Bill Specter, Oscar Vatorius, yeah, Art Art Garfunkel, because he was in uh canine knowledge, you know.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: That song he was in fact the retriever, he was the golden retriever.
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: He was the he was the retriever.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: He had he had he was he was groomed, you know.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: He had the big like around the collar, he had a big hair.
- 22:31SPEAKER_03: Well, but I think wasn't wasn't Candace Bergen was like the dog trainer, if I remember right.
- 22:36SPEAKER_03: I think it was something like I think you're right.
- 22:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, it was oh, it was good.
- 22:39SPEAKER_03: You guys ought to see it.
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: It's all filmed on dog trainer.
- 22:44SPEAKER_03: I bet Crackle has it.
- 22:45SPEAKER_03: I bet they do.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 22:47SPEAKER_03: But so so Tommy, in in your comedic work, did you have uh comedians that were kind of your inspiration that you followed as a kid that and you've kind of learned from, or maybe even not a kid, maybe as you were growing?
- 22:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I've chosen to never fully fully grow up.
- 23:03SPEAKER_04: I think it's important to embrace a lifestyle of pure childishness and being in post at all times.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: But not in like a Michael Jackson away.
- 23:11SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, no, no, no, no.
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: Right, right, right.
- 23:13SPEAKER_03: Jeff never growing up, he's he's one of us, Jeff.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: What do you want to do?
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: So some of you, some of your favorite comedians, uh yeah, they uh I mean the list goes on.
- 23:22SPEAKER_04: There, there's no one I want to leave out, but there's there's definitely um you know, guys like Richard Pryor.
- 23:27SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
- 23:28SPEAKER_04: Deon Cole, of course, Dave Chappelle.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, on Richard Pryor.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, part of what I do as an entertainment lawyer is I carry around just a little fire extinguisher.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: That way, if he freebases in the club, his hair is gonna be just fine.
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: You know, Richard Pryor could have lived 10 more years if he'd had you as his lawyer.
- 23:48SPEAKER_04: I'm just saying, I believe that.
- 23:49SPEAKER_04: I believe that's I tread a team every time I think about him.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: That is great protection.
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: What do you call those comedians?
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: Is that what the term is for uh a female a comedian?
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: My favorite is Merle Street.
- 24:02SPEAKER_02: What a riot! Everything, you know.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: Whenever, whenever they she has a new movie coming out, I go to that thing right away because she cracks me up wacky.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: She's with her voices and stuff.
- 24:12SPEAKER_03: Oh, no, and her her Vegas routine.
- 24:14SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you've seen it, but oh gosh, dear hunter.
- 24:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, oh yeah, she was she was.
- 24:19SPEAKER_03: I couldn't keep a straight face, she was so funny.
- 24:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she's a little blue, a little blue for my taste, and they're doing they're doing the rush roulette, and I'm cracking up because she's she's doing the she's doing her bits, you know.
- 24:29SPEAKER_03: It's like wow, I didn't know what to do.
- 24:30SPEAKER_03: I couldn't stop laughing.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: Oh, it was great.
- 24:32SPEAKER_02: It was unbelievable.
- 24:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah, uh any any so any women, uh Sarah Silverman, uh Amy Polars of the World.
- 24:39SPEAKER_04: Uh absolutely, absolutely love their work.
- 24:42SPEAKER_04: Um Brittany's cautioned me to not mention too many women's names specifically.
- 24:47SPEAKER_04: That may sound like another woman's name that's on what we call the list.
- 24:52SPEAKER_04: Um talk about the list.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: I can't talk about Tommy, too much.
- 24:58SPEAKER_03: So you've you've got a list, but you can't talk.
- 25:01SPEAKER_03: You can say that you've got a list, but you can't describe the list.
- 25:05SPEAKER_04: We'll we'll say if I am a soldier, it's my confirmed kill list.
- 25:10SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 25:11SPEAKER_03: And that was that was in air quotes list.
- 25:13SPEAKER_03: Were there air quotes on that?
- 25:14SPEAKER_03: I saw the air quotes.
- 25:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he went against it up like this.
- 25:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: And when you say when you say kill, I just want to clarify because some people will react negatively to that.
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: When you say kill, you're talking about having sex, right?
- 25:27SPEAKER_02: 100%.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, good.
- 25:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was air quotes, yeah.
- 25:31SPEAKER_03: So yeah, yeah.
- 25:31SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 25:32SPEAKER_03: Just like nailed.
- 25:33SPEAKER_03: I mean, you didn't really nail somebody, right?
- 25:34SPEAKER_03: I mean, uh that'd be weird.
- 25:36SPEAKER_04: There was the there there was that night in Chicago.
- 25:38SPEAKER_04: I'm I'm she's kicking the shit out of me.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: I can't uh say anything other than Chicago.
- 25:42SPEAKER_04: I mean, oh okay, yeah, Philadelphia is what is what she's making me say.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: Tommy like a lot of this is like supposed to be under seal with like the grand jury and stuff.
- 25:53SPEAKER_04: Oh okay.
- 25:54SPEAKER_04: I don't I don't work there.
- 25:55SPEAKER_04: I'm a comedian.
- 25:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:59SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 26:00SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 26:01SPEAKER_04: You remember when he had when he had a conversation about getting a war time uh constantly on?
- 26:07SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: Instead of yeah, I I I think it's getting to that time.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: I think so.
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: You may have to talk to my lawyer.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: Are you you're not gonna fire me, right?
- 26:17SPEAKER_04: No, of course not.
- 26:18SPEAKER_04: You maybe signed some weird paperwork that said I couldn't start here.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: No, I wouldn't do that.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: That that sounds unconscionable.
- 26:26SPEAKER_03: You know, Tommy, you better read that that carefully because she may be keeping a percentage even after you fire her.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, there's some like you know, non-competition clauses that ice kind of sprinkled in there, but that means I can't get another lawyer.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: I mean, I gotta like a right-of-first refusal kind of thing.
- 26:44SPEAKER_04: So, one of the things I signed up for was you being my lawyer, get to pick my next lawyer and not being fair.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: We used to agree that we're we were gonna do this before an arbitration board in the state of California.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: So check it out, Steve.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: They're fighting.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: I this is so dramatic.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: This is loving you.
- 27:02SPEAKER_03: This is great, really good.
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, don't keep going.
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, keep going close, though.
- 27:07SPEAKER_04: Steve Jeffy, you're either you guys next to each other.
- 27:09SPEAKER_04: Are are you guys using an entertainment lawyer?
- 27:11SPEAKER_04: Is anyone you'd recommend that I have to get ready to vet now?
- 27:14SPEAKER_03: I've I've looked around for one and and they wanted, you know, like money.
- 27:19SPEAKER_03: And so, no, we're really not using one, but uh, but boy, we'd like to.
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: I think we need one, Jefferson.
- 27:25SPEAKER_02: Well, and and the one time that we checked it out, I remember that like they said, well, we only deal with entertainers, so you know, kind of like a technicality that to find we didn't quite qualify.
- 27:35SPEAKER_03: Well, it's kind of an old school guy who didn't really understand podcasting, you know.
- 27:38SPEAKER_03: It's like, what is this podcast stuff?
- 27:40SPEAKER_03: Why aren't you just on the radio?
- 27:42SPEAKER_03: I mean, you know, gosh, come on.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, I thought we were old, but oh please, you should really to uh limit your exposure to you know, libel, slander, yeah.
- 27:53SPEAKER_03: Well, we don't have insurance, we commit that all the time, my gosh.
- 27:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, what our show would be nothing without libel, right?
- 28:00SPEAKER_03: Slander, you know.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: I dated a woman named Libel or named Slander.
- 28:06SPEAKER_03: You know, it's funny, funny coincidence.
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: I actually dated somebody named Slander.
- 28:10SPEAKER_03: Uh she was she changed her name.
- 28:12SPEAKER_03: It used to be Slanderwits, but you know, she didn't want to sound ethnic.
- 28:14SPEAKER_03: So just Houston Texas Slander.
- 28:16SPEAKER_04: I've got her as number 36 on the confirmed kill list.
- 28:19SPEAKER_04: Oh wow, she's still around.
- 28:21SPEAKER_03: Oh wow.
- 28:22SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 28:23SPEAKER_04: Hey, we the agreement said she couldn't talk.
- 28:25SPEAKER_04: I can.
- 28:27SPEAKER_04: Jeff, they're doing it again.
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: They're doing it again, Jeff.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: Oh, I love it.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: So I know I know we're gonna run out of time soon, but yeah, Tommy, share share a little bit about what your comedy act is about.
- 28:38SPEAKER_02: You're gonna have a talk about it.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: No, this is a good thing on the show in the first place.
- 28:45SPEAKER_04: Gotcha, gotcha.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, talking about the scrapple special.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: So just kind of give them a yeah.
- 28:51SPEAKER_04: So the the overall series uh is actually called This Shit Ain't Funny.
- 28:56SPEAKER_04: Uh where I talk about some pretty horrific things that that actually should be made light light of.
- 29:01SPEAKER_04: Let you know, however, you say that.
- 29:03SPEAKER_04: You know, like abortion.
- 29:04SPEAKER_04: Everyone loves a good abortion joke, but not everyone's comfortable saying it, not everyone's comfortable hearing it.
- 29:08SPEAKER_04: And so I just wrapped it up in a bow and said, Hey, well, this shit ain't funny, just in case someone decides to cringe, kind of as my legal loophole out of it before I even had a good entertainment lawyer.
- 29:19SPEAKER_03: Sort of as a defense mechanism, you know, it's like you're saying this isn't funny, but then if they laugh, yeah, it's okay because you've just given them permission to to laugh.
- 29:28SPEAKER_02: Right, or you put a question mark at the end of it and it's this shit ain't funny, right?
- 29:34SPEAKER_02: You know, like it's like it really is funny, but you don't think it's funny, of course it's funny.
- 29:39SPEAKER_02: There's nothing funnier than uh talking about things like abortion and and violence.
- 29:45SPEAKER_04: I I think that's also what happened to Dave Chappelle when he, you know, when he decided to throw a few punches at uh the whole group, yeah.
- 29:53SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 29:54SPEAKER_04: And boy, the the they swing back.
- 29:57SPEAKER_04: I think that's the right way that we say that.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: I don't want us to lose your crackle special, Tommy.
- 30:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you better be careful about who who runs crackle, you know.
- 30:06SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: Sony, and they totally fucked up Michael Jackson's life, yeah.
- 30:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Doc Mary Taylor.
- 30:13SPEAKER_04: If they if they always remember the time I punched my kid in the face, and I said, Well, is that good parenting, or is uh am I gonna be visited by you know child protective services?
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: Tommy, that was merely an allegation that you punched your kid in the face.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: I absolutely did.
- 30:27SPEAKER_02: She earned it.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: Wow, wow.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: Well, and Steve, Steve, do you remember that movie?
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to think that these uh it was uh it might have been kind of uh X-rated.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: It was uh called Cautionary Tale.
- 30:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 30:38SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, T Bale.
- 30:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I've seen that translated uh yeah three times this week.

- 32:33SPEAKER_04: I know sometimes some of us pop up and it seems like it happens overnight, um, but we we can't make it this far without someone else paving the way, paying the dues.
- 32:42SPEAKER_04: Um, and some of us are here to just pay lawyers that are uh good at what they do.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: Although you hear correctly, or Jeff, were you about to climax?

- 33:18SPEAKER_03: I I probably wouldn't be that time.
- 33:20SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: The first cup tests whether you're pregnant beforehand, and the second cup tests whether you have GHV or aka Rohypnol, aka Roofies.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: We just want to always prove that my man Tommy here is not Roofy women.
- 33:35SPEAKER_04: I do not want to be in the canon or building cosmies.
