- 0:15Circus boobies. Gonna watch your least favorite
- 0:19scary movie? The podcast where we talk about
- 0:21the good, the bad, the ugly and the absurd and all of our
- 0:25favorite. And least favorite?
- 0:26Scary movies. Because we believe every horror
- 0:28movie rifle has its fan base even.
- 0:30If we don't always get it. My name is Travis.
- 0:32My name is Jesse. And welcome back everybody.
- 0:36We are here today to talk about our Patreon Picked episode for
- 0:40this month and you all voted for Joyride 2.
- 0:44Actually they voted for a tie and Talia tie broke.
- 0:50That's. True.
- 0:50Is that the past tense of a tiebreaker?
- 0:52Tiebreaker. I wouldn't question.
- 0:54That tie to break? No, cuz tie is the noun.
- 0:57Break bread. Yeah.
- 0:59Yeah. What tide?
- 1:01I don't know. We're way too far off track.
- 1:04Right away. We're talking about Joyride Tude
- 1:06because that's what they called for today.
- 1:08That's what. That's what's on the schedule.
- 1:10Yeah, that's what we're doing. So that build up to the opening
- 1:15there of Jesse saying circus boobs took about 30 seconds.
- 1:18Couldn't stop blashing. Yeah, I was really curious to
- 1:23hear what was about to come out. The build up was killing me.
- 1:25The time I was about to say it, I started giggling.
- 1:29OK. So yeah, we're gonna be talking
- 1:30about that here shortly. But before we do, do we have any
- 1:33announcements? Or not to be this weekend.
- 1:36All right, so tune in for that. And I remembered to say it at
- 1:39the top of the episode this time.
- 1:40In the past like 3 months, I've forgotten until the end.
- 1:42So nice. There we go.
- 1:44It's your pick, right? Yeah, it is.
- 1:46Yeah, OK. Yeah, it is.
- 1:48Oh, get ready for that folks all.
- 1:50Right. Hey, I found the other another
- 1:54cabinet on Woods movie. Yeah, that's true.
- 1:56You did a really good one last time.
- 1:58OK, alright, well, with that out of the way, I've got our poll
- 2:02from last week. Last week we talked about VILE
- 2:05for Jesse's birthday episode. So the question what method of
- 2:09torture could you endure in vile so if you were one of the people
- 2:14that were abducted there to have to torture yourself?
- 2:16To get free, Olson comes on screen tells you you must reach
- 2:20100% to get out of this house. Which one of them are you
- 2:24choosing? Yes.
- 2:24So we have RIP off a fingernail, steam iron to the torso, dip
- 2:29your arm in boiling water, or wrench to the collarbone.
- 2:32So 29% would do RIP off fingernail, 14% would take steam
- 2:38iron into the torso, nobody dipping their arm in boiling
- 2:41water, but 57% would take the wrench to the collarbone.
- 2:45OK, that's impressive right there.
- 2:47That one seems like probably one of the more painful ones to me,
- 2:51but what? Are you going with?
- 2:53I do. I think I could do the
- 2:57fingernail. OK, yeah, we discussed last week
- 3:00that the fingernail has an aspect of indignity to it for
- 3:04me, because I take such pride in the fingernails.
- 3:07I think I'm going to go with collarbone.
- 3:09Oh wow, so you're part of them? Yeah, I mean, I'm very familiar
- 3:13with the sensation of a broken bone.
- 3:15It'll heal, it'll be fine. Whereas like Burns I'm also very
- 3:19familiar with but I hate them. Couldn't have to get a skin
- 3:22graft with those. Yeah, like.
- 3:24Fingernails grow back. Sometimes.
- 3:27Sometimes like you're back stupid.
- 3:28Well. I'd rather have a stupid one
- 3:30than none. I'm just saying, yeah, I'm just,
- 3:34I'm looking out for you, OK? All right, so that's collarbone
- 3:39wins. Collarbone wins.
- 3:41All right. OK, So with all of this out of
- 3:43the way, are we ready to get into joyride too?
- 3:46I believe we are dead ahead. Are we buckling up?
- 3:49We're buckling up and we're going dead ahead.
- 3:51Yeah, OK, OK, so Joyride 2 came out October 7th, 2008, straight
- 3:57to DVD release. You are unable to stream this
- 4:01anywhere if you are looking to do so, but you can rent it on
- 4:05Amazon, YouTube, and Fandango at home for just under $4.
- 4:09So once again, I must encourage people to look through the $5
- 4:14bins at Walmart. Yeah, you could find.
- 4:16You can find all three of the joyrides in a single pack.
- 4:21You 5. Dollars and probably on Amazon,
- 4:23$10.00 for all three of them too.
- 4:25So yeah, it's it's not a bad deal right there.
- 4:28No, All right. Written by James Robert Johnston
- 4:31and Bennett Yellen, directed by Louis Morneau, music by Joe
- 4:35Cramer and special effects makeup by Dan Keillor, Bob Comer
- 4:39and Christopher Mark. Penny OK Starring Nicky Aycox as
- 4:43Melissa, Nick Zano as Bobby or a Jordan as Kayla, Kyle Schmidt as
- 4:49Nick, Mark Gibbon as Rusty Nail. What a Nick's in here.
- 4:55Nicky, Nick and Nick. Nick Zano, I know from What I
- 5:00Like About you, which was like Amanda Bynes when she moved off
- 5:04of Nickelodeon. Oh really?
- 5:06See, I would say I know him from Final Destination.
- 5:09Yeah, see, and that's The thing is that like whenever we watch
- 5:12final The Final Destination, Yeah, I always think of what I
- 5:16like about you as well. I I forget the connection of him
- 5:19between the two horror movies, but he is always connected to
- 5:22Amanda Bynes. Those are the only two things I
- 5:24know him from. I was like, I know.
- 5:26Nicky Aycox apparently passed away already.
- 5:28Oh my God. Odd.
- 5:29Yeah, back in 22. That's awful.
- 5:31Yeah, she was in her 40s. Jeez.
- 5:33Yeah, kind of sucks. So yeah, small cast here.
- 5:37Yeah. All right, time for our favorite
- 5:39game on the show budget. Or.
- 5:42Bug Ted. I mean, they couldn't even get
- 5:46my man real tattoos and body piercings.
- 5:49I'm saying I'm saying bug Ted. OK, it is bug Ted.
- 5:53Yeah, I do have. It Ted Levine.
- 5:56I know. Yeah.
- 5:57That's well, that that's the bug Ted Levine right there.
- 6:01Bug Ted Levine. Mark Gibbon is bug.
- 6:03Ted Levine. Can't afford the real Ted
- 6:07Levine. So yeah, I actually do have the
- 6:10number. It's $5 million.
- 6:12OK. That's honestly that's more than
- 6:14I expect. I was expecting closer to like
- 6:16the 2 million range. Yeah, the 5 million seems to be
- 6:20about the Max for a straight to DVD horror movie.
- 6:23I've it's this is basically enough information out there to
- 6:27get a formula like yeah, you know, as the theory progresses,
- 6:31you'll get down to the two to 1,000,000 like the wrong turn
- 6:34fives out there, but. Where the joyride threes, which
- 6:37is also Declan o'brand O'Connor. That's true, Yeah.
- 6:40I would be curious to see what the budget is for that one.
- 6:43OK. So yeah, $5 million budget
- 6:45opening box office. So it went straight to DVD.
- 6:48So we don't have box office numbers, but I do have DVD sets.
- 6:52Oh my God. So these are all strictly just
- 6:55DVD. This is not factoring in Blu
- 6:57rays or rentals. Wow, that's specific.
- 7:01Yeah, well, this is a time when that was the most available
- 7:05media. I would say Blu-ray was still
- 7:08fairly new in 2008. And I remember, like, the switch
- 7:14from like, get it soon on VHS and DVD to get it soon on DVD.
- 7:19And then that had almost no time to shine on its own before it
- 7:23was like, get it soon on DVD and Blu-ray.
- 7:26Yeah. Well, if it makes you feel
- 7:29better, DVD is still the most popular format available.
- 7:34It consistently beats Blu-ray and 4K cells every single year.
- 7:38Interesting. Yeah, it it's the most popular
- 7:40format. So back when this premiered or
- 7:44it released first month open #9 on the DVD charts with 62,000
- 7:50units sold grossing at 1.5 million hold.
- 7:54On are. You trying to factor in the DVD
- 7:57price? OK, so 1.5?
- 8:02Nope. 1.5 million. How many units was it?
- 8:0562. 62, 1000 Thank you. It didn't. 62 individual DVDs
- 8:13grossed 1.5 million. Forgot how expensive DVDs were
- 8:17back in the day. That's almost $25 per.
- 8:19I mean, that's kind of the price right now for a new movie.
- 8:22Yeah, but I'm like Blu-ray. Usually it's closer to 20.
- 8:26New DVDs now $20 still. Dang yeah wild.
- 8:32I think I've gotten used to the $5 bin slash half Price books.
- 8:36Yeah. Well, because we're patient, we
- 8:37wait. We don't.
- 8:38Well, I'm not always patient. Sometimes there's a movie that I
- 8:41have to get and I get it right away.
- 8:42Yeah. But yeah, I mean, that's kind of
- 8:44the still the going rate for these.
- 8:47So that was that ended up grossing in the first month.
- 8:50So I don't have overall, Oh wait wait, no overall gross so far
- 8:55still just DVDs is 4.3 million at 200,000 units sold.
- 9:01Wow. Do you want to check your math
- 9:02again on that? How many?
- 9:044.3 million dollars, 200,000 units.
- 9:09Ah, it went down slightly. Average of 2150.
- 9:12That makes sense. Yeah, Yeah.
- 9:14OK, cool. We're doing math, people.
- 9:16Yeah, we're getting real in depth here with the figures this
- 9:19month or this week I guess. OK IMDb 5.1.
- 9:24Impressive. Not bad that, you know, I'm, I'm
- 9:27actually kind of happy that people are like, it's not bad.
- 9:30Yeah, I like that's the consensus, I think.
- 9:33It's. Middling.
- 9:34It's slightly above mid, just the slightest.
- 9:37Like percentage above mid? Middie.
- 9:40OK, so I have a theme for 2008 horror movies to compare it to.
- 9:45Oh boy. So I kind of went with the trend
- 9:48of the time. These are all movies that seared
- 9:51in the direction of the torture porn slash splattered bore genre
- 9:56that was very big back in 2008. Trying to capitalize on that.
- 10:01Yeah, they didn't. Well, they didn't want to be
- 10:023000 in light. So no, no.
- 10:05And this movie is like this. This movie leans into this.
- 10:08It's yeah, it's. Yeah, we even have.
- 10:11Yeah, we have that whole extended torture scene in the
- 10:13barn, so. OK, so movie number one, rest
- 10:17stop 2 don't look back. Bro I'm that one.
- 10:22I remember watching the first rest stop, it came on TV, me and
- 10:25my mom watched it and we were both fucking terrified.
- 10:27Yeah, it's freaky. The second one is OK, but it
- 10:31feels very much like you said, like it's trying to capitalize.
- 10:34Yeah. On the trend.
- 10:35I couldn't remember because it's been so long since I've seen it,
- 10:38so I went to the IMDb page to look at their their violence
- 10:44meter on the parent guide to see all the things that happened.
- 10:47There's, like, people getting their knees drilled.
- 10:50There's, like, all kinds of, like, torture going on in there.
- 10:54So it gets pretty, yeah. Nasty.
- 10:56Yeah, he's got like a whole little torture bus.
- 10:58Oh yeah, he does. Yeah.
- 10:59OK, well then, yeah. There we go.
- 11:00I remembered her. Right.
- 11:01All right, so that released September 30th, 2008.
- 11:05No budget listed, no gross, but a 4.6 on IMDb.
- 11:09OK, so still not too, too terrible.
- 11:11Yeah. All right, movie #2 I've not
- 11:14seen this. I've not seen the next two
- 11:16movies, but I can only imagine this was Japan's weird way of
- 11:21going in this direction as Japan does.
- 11:24Tokyo Gore Police Have you heard of this movie?
- 11:27No, but I have a feeling that Joe shout out Freakatron, it's
- 11:33going to be like, Oh no, you guys need to check this out.
- 11:35It feels like the type of thing like he would know all about.
- 11:37I think 100% that was being discussed on the discord
- 11:40yesterday. OK, that's yeah.
- 11:43It's it's a very, I don't know, very.
- 11:46It's a, it's a well known, like popular cult movie that is very
- 11:51much Japanese, if you know what I mean with that.
- 11:54Like it's wacky. Yeah, I read the premise.
- 11:58It's about it's a dystopian future Japan where they have
- 12:03these people that have been turned into biological weapons
- 12:07called engineers, where apparently their injuries have
- 12:12like some kind of like biological weapon.
- 12:16Really, really. It's so there's like a task
- 12:19force, the Tokyo Gore Police, that are formed to deal with the
- 12:24engineers. I'm just picturing Idris Alda in
- 12:28Hobsonshaw with his upgrades. Could be, it could be.
- 12:33I don't know. You know, one of the other
- 12:35things that I was really, really trying to do with this is movies
- 12:39that could also fit in the Fast and Furious franchise.
- 12:43I couldn't find 3 movies to do that, but I'm you know what?
- 12:46You kind of maybe just did one right there.
- 12:50OK, so that release. In this podcast, everything
- 12:52either comes back to Twilight or Fast and Furious.
- 12:54Yeah, it's one. One or the other.
- 12:56OK, so that released October 3rd, 2008.
- 12:59No gross, no budget, but the IMDb is 5.9.
- 13:04OK yeah, an interesting thing also with this Rest Stop 2 and
- 13:08Joy Ride 2. These all came out within a week
- 13:10of each other. Wow.
- 13:12Yeah, Joy Ride 2 was October 7th, rest stop September 30th,
- 13:17took a Gore police October 3rd. So yeah, it was a very busy time
- 13:21for these gore hounds out there. Nice.
- 13:23All right, that's a good Halloween.
- 13:25It is a good Halloween. You're right.
- 13:27All right. Final movie?
- 13:29Haven't watched it but this sounds like something I feel
- 13:32like we should watch. It sounds really interesting.
- 13:35It's called untraceable. So basically think fear.com but
- 13:44fear. Dot com.com.
- 13:45Possibly the premise not wasted. So fear.com.com, but good, but
- 13:53confident, yeah. So I read the.
- 13:56Premise Fear dot competent. Fear dot competent.
- 13:58Yeah, the premise apparently is there's an FBI detective that is
- 14:03tracking down a killer who is streaming these killings on the
- 14:08websites or the Internet I should say.
- 14:12And it's the method of death slash torture is based off of
- 14:17the view count. That sounds so.
- 14:21There was a movie that was I think around that time, if not a
- 14:24few years later, with Elijah Wood called Open Windows.
- 14:28Yeah, not that. Yeah, yeah, I'm just.
- 14:30It sounds very. Similar to that, that was, Yeah,
- 14:33that was an interesting one. That was that was an OK movie.
- 14:36It wasn't bad, but yeah, this one sounds really interesting.
- 14:39This came out January 25th 2835 Million Budget 53,000,000 Gross
- 14:456.2 IMDb OK, yeah. It sounds really familiar and I
- 14:50don't know if it's just because it sounds very similar to open
- 14:53windows, but. Well, and fear.com.com.
- 14:56yeah.com. Yeah.
- 14:58OK, so I have tag lines. OK, got three, one on the
- 15:02poster. Detours can be deadly.
- 15:07Yeah. Yeah, it's not too bad.
- 15:09Yeah, Next one. Rusty's back, OK.
- 15:17I like, I don't, I don't have anything significant to add to
- 15:20that because I don't feel like it's a very significant tagline.
- 15:23Yeah. All right, final one.
- 15:25His voice could be the last thing you heard.
- 15:29You heard? That's what I.
- 15:31Heard you. Heard me circus jumbo tits.
- 15:37I like them. Big old titties.
- 15:40Circus bones. That's right, you heard.
- 15:45That's that's the voice that's going to be the last one you
- 15:47hear. I would hope not for anybody.
- 15:54OK. Yeah.
- 15:54So that first one, I think they made the right call for the one
- 15:57you put on there. That's not a bad one.
- 16:00I do think it is kind of a funny like last thing you heard.
- 16:04You heard? I wonder if they were playing
- 16:06into that. I don't know.
- 16:09OK, fun facts. So this was originally gonna be
- 16:13titled Joyride to End of the Road.
- 16:16They changed the title I. Like that better.
- 16:19I think it's pretty good. Yeah, it's not bad.
- 16:21It does sound, it does sound better for like the end of a
- 16:24franchise though. But.
- 16:25Yeah, dead ahead. It's pretty good too.
- 16:27I like both of the titles that they have here.
- 16:30Why couldn't it be dead end though?
- 16:31That's like an actual like phrase.
- 16:36Dead end. Yeah, well, you know, I don't
- 16:41remember what the third one is called.
- 16:43I wonder if it is called one of those.
- 16:45There's a lot of good like Rd. related puns you can make for
- 16:49this. Joyride the road kill.
- 16:51Road kill OK deck was like hold. On deck on O'Brien O'Connor.
- 16:55He's like, you know what's better than signs?
- 16:59Dead and long, Yeah. Roads.
- 17:01That's still not bad. Rd. kill.
- 17:04OK, so yeah, obviously they went with Dead Head.
- 17:08I remember when we were talking about this with back when we
- 17:12first started podcasting, we did a whole episode with 7th Circle
- 17:17of Film where they did all like we covered all three movies on
- 17:21the single episode. Yes, it's like a 5 hour episode,
- 17:24million hours. But I remember they have to
- 17:28change the name for these overseas because Joyride over
- 17:31there is about some. It's like Grand Theft Auto over
- 17:34here. Yeah, taking a vehicle and
- 17:36stealing it. I'm pretty sure I made the
- 17:38argument back then. I'm going to make the argument
- 17:39again now. That is very accurate to what
- 17:42happens in this movie. Yeah, it is.
- 17:44Yeah. I can't remember what they call
- 17:46them over there though. I do remember though, that's how
- 17:49I learned because I always knew that trunks were referred to as
- 17:52boots, but that's just how I learned that the the hood is
- 17:56referred to as a bonnet. Oh OK, so these are actually
- 18:00called roadkill. OK.
- 18:03Yeah, that's the third. One called Is it roadkill?
- 18:06Roadkill. Roadkill.
- 18:07Roadkill. Well, in the United Kingdom,
- 18:11this is just called Roadkill 2. OK, you know what?
- 18:15We're gonna find out. We're gonna go deep diving for
- 18:19shit today here. Oh boy.
- 18:21What is it? Maybe it could be just Roadkill
- 18:233, I don't know. Probably is roadkill 3 but I
- 18:26would love the absolute and bananas decision to call it.
- 18:32Roadkill 3 Roadkill it is. Oh, they actually caught a
- 18:36Joyride 3 roadkill over there. Weird.
- 18:40That is weird that they kept the joyride for the one that doesn't
- 18:43actually involve stealing a car. They could have called a joy or
- 18:47joy kill. No, they could have called it
- 18:51Rd. kill 3 joyride. Oh boy, that would have been a
- 18:55good way to do it. OK, so yeah, this was actually
- 19:00filmed in British Columbia. So it's not actually filmed in
- 19:03the desert of Utah where this movie takes place.
- 19:06I didn't realize they had deserts up in British Columbia,
- 19:08but apparently they do. Yeah.
- 19:09So that actually ended up having some weather related obstacles
- 19:13that apparently are a big deal up there in British Columbia.
- 19:16So it was. Canada's fucking cold.
- 19:18It was very rainy, too rainy and cold.
- 19:21This actually caused problems specifically for Nikki.
- 19:27OK we it's really confusing with the amount of Nicks in this
- 19:29right here. So this is Melissa character.
- 19:32When she asked to do her striptease scene, she had to do
- 19:36that for 8 hours, 2 separate nights.
- 19:39That's a long fucking time to shoot that scene.
- 19:41She had to stay in her underwear the entire time, so she would
- 19:45just be in the car to keep warm in between shoot, and whenever
- 19:50it would be time to shoot, she'd have to get out of the car and
- 19:52just be out there like that. So she said whenever she did
- 19:56that, she was miserable, and when she finished, she went back
- 20:00to her hotel soaked in a warm tub for several hours.
- 20:04Wow. Yeah, in order to get Bobby's
- 20:10banged up face, like the way they do, the way that they
- 20:12approach doing his makeup. So the makeup guy, Christopher,
- 20:18Mark, Penny. That's such a good name too.
- 20:21Yeah, he went and took a picture of him, Bobby, his face, and
- 20:26then took it over to Photoshop and then bloodied it up and gave
- 20:30it a couple of cuts and stuff like that.
- 20:32And then they used that as the basis to do the makeup to apply
- 20:35there that. Makes sense.
- 20:36I that's like a way that you practice with special effects is
- 20:40you just look up wounds. It's gross and it's morbid and
- 20:45you have to turn your safe search off on Google, obviously.
- 20:47But like, that's how you do it. You just emulate and you
- 20:50practice. I thought it was really
- 20:51interesting seeing do that though, like I've never seen the
- 20:56of somebody making a movie take that approach.
- 20:58I think, I think that's pretty fun.
- 20:59Yeah. It's a pretty interesting way to
- 21:01because like you get the vision that you want and then you also
- 21:04have the reference, which helps with continuity.
- 21:06Yeah, and with the bar manager that gets his jaw ripped off,
- 21:12they did a cast of him. His jaw like that was actually
- 21:17like what his jaw looks like when they RIP it off too.
- 21:20It was also. That dude's got a lot of hair.
- 21:22I lift him up on IMDb. It's a very shaved off off all
- 21:26of his hair, including his eyebrows for this.
- 21:28They probably did it for the mold of his face.
- 21:30Like whoa. For consistency sake, we're just
- 21:33going to shave your head here. You can cast your face with
- 21:37eyebrows and hair. You can, but it's probably
- 21:41easier to not have any of those things when you're doing that, I
- 21:45would imagine. At least I've never done any of
- 21:47those things. So the special features actually
- 21:52has Rusty Nell being interviewed in character.
- 21:55Oh, that's fun. Yeah, it was.
- 21:57It was really interesting. It's him just kind of like
- 21:59standing out in like a field with his truck.
- 22:03And he's like, yeah. So like, I don't know when it
- 22:06happened, but I like to collect jaws.
- 22:09And I don't know exactly what sparked it, but I keep a
- 22:11collection of jaws. He shows off the weapon that he
- 22:16used to take the jaw off of that guy.
- 22:19It's really interesting. So he has like, a little like,
- 22:21pocket chain thing, but his pocket chain is actually the
- 22:25chainsaw blade chain. OK.
- 22:28Yeah. So like he's like took that to
- 22:30the character and wrapped it around his head and then just
- 22:33like yank the jaw off that way. So yeah, that's really
- 22:37interesting seeing how they. When when you want to have a
- 22:40chain wallet but you're not going to listen to the
- 22:43disrespect about you having a chain wallet.
- 22:46Yeah, and it's also functional. Yeah.
- 22:49For his needs. If you ever need to go out there
- 22:52and you see a jaw you need to collect.
- 22:55Yeah. Oh.
- 22:56Maybe that jaw girl. Great Michael.
- 22:58He doesn't actually collect them though.
- 23:00He left that one on the floor of a strap.
- 23:02Oh, who's to say he's just disorganized with how he
- 23:06collects things? He collects the experience, not
- 23:10the draws. He collects memories.
- 23:11Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:13OK, collect. Memories, not possessions.
- 23:16That was it for the fun packs that I have.
- 23:18That's all the information I had out there.
- 23:20So I believe it is time for us to get into our discussion.
- 23:25Good, bad, ugly and absurd. Jesse, what did you think of
- 23:28this one? I like that they were able to
- 23:32take a new approach to this instead of just retreading what
- 23:36happened in the first one basically.
- 23:38And I like that we keep the consistency that Rusty now is
- 23:41just a little crybaby who gets his feelings hurt too easily.
- 23:46I I think he has more of a reason to be mad this time
- 23:49around. No, it doesn't warrant killing
- 23:52people, but that's. What I'm saying, like, and I
- 23:54mean, in the first he also had reason to be upset too.
- 23:57Yeah, you know what I mean. But I just, I do think he has a
- 24:00tendency to overreact. The first one hurt his ego and
- 24:03his pride. This time they hurt his house
- 24:07and. His car and I feel like that
- 24:09probably also hurts his ego and his pride because his
- 24:11possessions were defiled. Yeah, yeah.
- 24:14But also, I, you know, I feel like it's a little bit bigger to
- 24:18have your home, your door busted down, your window shattered and
- 24:21your car stolen. I'm just saying there's also an
- 24:24indignity to that. Yeah.
- 24:28OK. So I think that that was really
- 24:29interesting. I liked the group dynamics we
- 24:32had where Melissa and Bobby were kind of like Boomer, mom and
- 24:36dad, because Bobby like, did the gut.
- 24:42The amount of times that I heard when I was a server, like you
- 24:45got a fish hook in your nose, young lady.
- 24:47Like that's Bobby when he was like, I can't hear you.
- 24:49You get two things in your leg. Yeah.
- 24:51Yeah. Like so I think that's that's
- 24:55fun. The amount of shit they give to
- 24:58Nick's character is also really hilarious.
- 25:00Yeah, well, he he calls. For it, yeah.
- 25:04So I think All in all, like not terrible in terms of the sequel.
- 25:08OK, the goods I have, I thought that they did a really good job
- 25:12replacing Rusty now. Yeah, I actually like the voice
- 25:17especially. Yeah.
- 25:17Sounds just like him. And we didn't really get a lot
- 25:21of real time with Rusty in the 1st movie.
- 25:25He's mostly off screen. But they I I liked how they
- 25:29presented him in this movie. He's more present, but they
- 25:33still keep him hidden. Yeah.
- 25:35So anytime you see him, it's a shadow basically, or like a
- 25:39silhouette. Yeah.
- 25:40And his face is never revealed. I like that.
- 25:43I, I also like how we get like a cluster look of his style in
- 25:48this movie right here. I know that they were really
- 25:50trying to ramp up like the brutality of it to kind of match
- 25:53the splatter gore genre that was rising up during this time.
- 25:57But it all tracks with how he was in the 1st movie.
- 26:01Even the ripping off of the Jaws, you know, we see that
- 26:05again here. I thought that that was cool.
- 26:06I'm glad we kept that. Yeah, and I like to see him just
- 26:10like other ways that his brutality comes through and it
- 26:15appears to be through torture. But also, he's a little bit of a
- 26:19prankster still in this one right here, 'cause he does some
- 26:22pranking in the first one and his old thing in here is like
- 26:25how you fuck with him is gonna be how he pranks with you.
- 26:30Yeah. So I I liked what they did with
- 26:32this character and yeah, I overall I think that they did a
- 26:36good job setup wise for the story for this.
- 26:39I like again, you know, it seems to always be siblings with these
- 26:43right here. The first one is brother and
- 26:46brother and this one's sister and sister.
- 26:49So, you know, it's really cool. I like the characters and then
- 26:52just the whole setup here. OK, alright, so bad.
- 26:56Bad the the beginning there's a really bad fake blood moment
- 27:07where the sex workers head hits the trailer and it's just like a
- 27:12can of bright red paint that's not.
- 27:15That whole super. Awesome that.
- 27:17Scene is a little bit lackluster with just like the whole thing
- 27:20like the she just like gets her head hit and you just hear like
- 27:23a little tiny squatching. Also like the weirdness of him
- 27:27stopping at the bar just for cigarettes, like is that the
- 27:30only place that he could stop? And also they're in Utah and I
- 27:33feel like it's probably hard to find a bar in Utah.
- 27:35Probably also hard to find cigarettes.
- 27:37Yeah, which is probably why you have to go to a bar.
- 27:40So I, I don't know, I don't know enough about Utah.
- 27:42I don't know if that that's accurate.
- 27:44Yeah, I don't either. Yeah.
- 27:46I I know you can find a lot of soda shops in Utah.
- 27:49So I've heard, yeah. So I mean, it's just, I mean, we
- 27:57have like a couple of disjointed moments like that, you know?
- 28:00OK, yeah. But yeah, I mean, those are
- 28:04those are mostly nitpicks, so. OK the bad for me is I really
- 28:09thought the soundtrack was weak in this.
- 28:11Yeah, yeah, I could have been. It's the curse of straight to
- 28:17DVD movies, which I don't understand because they have the
- 28:20money to get decent stuff. I don't like it feels like
- 28:23they're, they almost feel compelled to use what is at the
- 28:26libraries, maybe because it's free.
- 28:28Maybe they're like, OK, we'll just use like the library music
- 28:31from the produce, the production company.
- 28:35So I think this was Fox maybe that did this one.
- 28:39Yeah, it's like Fox straight to DVD.
- 28:41I would have loved to have like a scene where they're all
- 28:44arguing over the radio because you know that Bobby listens to
- 28:48some like buttoned up up tight shit.
- 28:50Whereas I want, I want to hear, I want to know if Nick's true,
- 28:54is he really 3rd wave emo punk? He's not.
- 28:57It's very clear in this movie he's a poser.
- 28:59I would, but I would love to have that.
- 29:01It would have been like. Happening.
- 29:03It would have been like the biggest emo band of the 2000s.
- 29:08Fall Out Boy. What's what was the biggest My
- 29:10Chemical Romance? Yeah, I was gonna say he'd be
- 29:12like, you probably haven't heard of them.
- 29:14And then like, he starts playing like, like Helena or something.
- 29:17And Bobby, of all people, he's like, oh, yeah, I've heard this
- 29:19song. Oh.
- 29:20Yeah. He's like, no, no, man, you
- 29:22don't. You just really don't get it.
- 29:25Yeah, yeah. I feel like it would have been
- 29:27cool to have something like that, you know, at least get a
- 29:30song or just like get like a dedicated composer.
- 29:34I mean, maybe they did with this dude, but if that's the thing
- 29:37that he did, it kind of felt phoned in.
- 29:38It almost felt like Full Moon feature music, which is always
- 29:42like really weird and never really fits the tone of the
- 29:44movies. And it's usually just one or two
- 29:47songs. Played years, Yeah.
- 29:50The other thing I thought about this movie is I wish I had more
- 29:53car scenes in it because that is basically the whole dill in the
- 29:591st movie. They're on the road.
- 30:01It's a it's a constant chase. Yeah, that's going on.
- 30:04It feels more Rd. trippy. Yeah, and I, I feel like this
- 30:08movie needed more of that. A lot of it is them just getting
- 30:12instructions from him and then they go and do a task and then
- 30:16they go meet him somewhere. And then every now and then
- 30:18we'll have a little bit of car stuff sprinkled in where they're
- 30:21only chased down like a stretch of Rd.
- 30:23But I feel like for this movie, it would have been great to keep
- 30:28that part. I feel like that's the, if
- 30:31you're gonna keep one thing from the first movie, like Rusty,
- 30:35obviously, but keep it still being a big chase scene.
- 30:38Like it's one big chase throughout the entire movie.
- 30:41OK. I feel like that would have
- 30:42really made this a much better experience.
- 30:47Not it's not a bad experience what we get, but I would have
- 30:50liked it a lot more. Yeah.
- 30:51And I again, and it comes back to that point I said about it
- 30:54being like kind of disjointed, 'cause, you know, Nick at one
- 30:57point makes a point when they're doing the finger drop off and
- 31:00he's like, he doesn't need to wait three hours, so why do we
- 31:05have it? Like he must be setting up and
- 31:07doing something. Yeah, and that never.
- 31:09He's not. He's watching them the entire
- 31:10time. Yeah.
- 31:11He's just watching them. It doesn't actually come to
- 31:13fruition. So yeah.
- 31:16OK, ugly. I'm gonna say the whole scene
- 31:20with Nick at the like, lot where they're like racing and stuff.
- 31:26His use of certain slurs, his very inherent transphobia and
- 31:30homophobia throughout, that's pretty ugly.
- 31:35And then also the Kenny Chesney truck driver just fool along
- 31:40with his Weiner out when he greets Melissa.
- 31:43Is his Weiner out? We don't see it, but that's the
- 31:45implication, is that he was, you know, going to town on himself
- 31:49while he was watching the striptease.
- 31:50His actual credit in the movie is Goofy Truck Driver.
- 31:55Oh. Wait, I think it's that.
- 31:57Let me look it up here. Goofy looking truck.
- 31:59Driver. Goofy looking truck driver.
- 32:02Yeah. I just he, he said.
- 32:04You can come. You can.
- 32:06Call me Candy Chesty if you want to.
- 32:08Yeah. Yeah, you heard.
- 32:11You heard yeah. So those are those are pretty
- 32:15big things and those like honestly, and I get whatever
- 32:222008 that wasn't like uncommon. But watching it in 2025, it
- 32:28makes me feel icky. And it's one of those things
- 32:30that, like, I don't like revisiting it when we rewatched
- 32:34the movie, you know? Yeah, yeah, I was trying to
- 32:37think of something too, and I feel like that was probably one
- 32:43of the things that stood out to me the most.
- 32:45I would also just say Nick's character in general, how he's
- 32:49so outwardly disrespectful to everybody.
- 32:53Yeah, also the disrespect of like truck driving like.
- 32:56He's just a shit person, really. He's a, he's a fucking shitty
- 32:59guy, Yeah. Everything about him sucks.
- 33:03Like truck drivers are just like, it's just a fucking job,
- 33:06you know? Like you can make
- 33:09generalizations about anybody in any job and it's not OK.
- 33:13They usually make pretty good money, too.
- 33:14Yeah. So like, I don't, you know, I
- 33:16don't know why you shouldn't on them, like just leave them be.
- 33:19Yeah, I like sort out your daddy issues, Nick.
- 33:22Yeah. That's really what it comes
- 33:23down. That is exactly.
- 33:24Yeah. Yeah.
- 33:25He talks about his dad being a truck driver.
- 33:28OK. And absurd.
- 33:31Well, obviously Kenny shows me, yeah, that whole scene.
- 33:35Now the whole thing is so weird. And then one of my favorite
- 33:42parts, so OK, makes fake tattoos.
- 33:44And we talked about those when we're on 7th Circle of film
- 33:47because he's wearing his jacket and they make a point that like
- 33:50this is the desert and he should be sweating in his jacket.
- 33:53And his tattoo fades so easily in the moment when he's showing
- 33:57so that it's fake. So what is he doing in the
- 33:59desert when he's sweating like this?
- 34:01There's no way that those tattoos aren't running.
- 34:03Oh man, I forgot about that. You're right.
- 34:05Yeah, we did talk about that a little bit.
- 34:08Yeah, I don't know. We've got that and then also
- 34:10when he's in the barn scene later and Rusty wants to make a
- 34:13point by pulling out his lip ring and it just pops out and
- 34:16like. The.
- 34:17Physical acting from Mark Gibbon like you can feel his like
- 34:22confusion and disappointment like.
- 34:24I like, I like that the. Fact that Nick apologizes.
- 34:28Yeah, I'm sorry. It's fake.
- 34:30You know, I, I like that he, he had that moment there where he
- 34:34was able to deny Rusty the satisfaction of torture 'cause
- 34:37he thought he had him there. He's like, I'm going to RIP this
- 34:40out and then it's. Going to suck for you.
- 34:42Nope, sucks for you Rusty and. Then poor, poor Bobby just
- 34:46getting all of the abuse. The only thing Nick has to deal
- 34:50with his death and it comes pretty quickly.
- 34:52But like, he doesn't get his lift ring actually torn out, he
- 34:55doesn't get his kneecap destroyed, he doesn't get his
- 34:58chest burnt. He gets some psychological
- 35:00fucking with SO. He gets some psychological
- 35:02fucking with, but I think you could argue Bobby does too.
- 35:05Bobby's just a little pincushion at this point.
- 35:08Yeah, that's true, Bobby. Oh, man, He got the rough, the
- 35:12rough end of it, Yeah. All right, Nick Zano in horror
- 35:15movies, Because in Final Destination, he dies his butt
- 35:19hole. So Robin set out.
- 35:20Yeah. Yeah sorry if y'all, I've never
- 35:22seen that movie. But saw a spoiler for a decade
- 35:25old movie. Watch this in 3D you get his
- 35:28butt guts flying out at you in 3D OK, so my absurd moments Oh
- 35:36yeah, I forgot this just says guy oh wait, wait, guy sleeping
- 35:40like a corpse. That guy in the funeral parlor
- 35:43that she's going over there to try and cut off a finger and
- 35:46then she pulls back the full blanket that's covering this
- 35:49guy. He's like, he's basically trying
- 35:52to live as though he's a corpse. I think it's got to be some
- 35:55weird fantasy that's playing out for this guy.
- 35:57I think he's on his break and he's taking a nap.
- 36:00Yeah, yeah, but you don't do it like that.
- 36:04Who the fuck covers up their entire face, like their entire
- 36:08body with a sheet like that? You wear like a goddamn blanket
- 36:11like everybody else. You don't pretend to be a dead
- 36:14person in a funeral parlor on a funeral.
- 36:17Like a little autopsy bed, you know what I mean?
- 36:21Take a nap in your car, take a nap somewhere else.
- 36:24I'm sure y'all got break. Rooms.
- 36:26I'm sure it was more comfortable than trying to nap in the car.
- 36:29I will say this, I used to work in a factory and there were
- 36:32nights where I'd be real, real tired and I'd spend my lunch
- 36:34break napping and I did it in the locker room on the bench.
- 36:39It's better than this. I actually I would think that
- 36:44his setup is more comfortable because that little Gurney is a
- 36:48lot wider than the benches were in the locker rooms.
- 36:50It's weird though, you can't. Say it's not weird, I'm just
- 36:53saying it's. Definitely get it.
- 36:54It's definitely him trying to pretend to be a dead.
- 36:57Body. Maybe he wanted to scare his
- 36:58coworker and fell asleep while waiting.
- 37:00Maybe could be that. The other thing I have is they
- 37:03basically have their own truck version of race wars in this
- 37:08movie. He is referring to Fast and
- 37:10Furious, by the way. Yeah, the most unfortunate name
- 37:13for an event ever. Yeah, Race wars, for those who
- 37:17are unaware, is a place where you go out into the desert in
- 37:20the Fast and Furious universe and you just race.
- 37:23But yeah, I, you know, I thought it was really funny.
- 37:25I mean, they actually have like fucking truck drive and drag
- 37:28race and race wars out there at like a little like trucker camp.
- 37:32It's interesting. OK, so let's raise it.
- 37:37I think I'm gonna give it a 7. That's.
- 37:39What I was gonna give it to you 7 It's a good movie.
- 37:42I think it's a good follow up. Starting average 7.
- 37:46OK, easy. Easy peasy.
- 37:47All right. You ready to do this?
- 37:49Yes. We start off at a truck stop.
- 37:53Rusty's batting some cigs, and a sex worker follows them out,
- 37:58thinking that it'll be a good score.
- 38:02And she drives and she climbs into the cab with him and, you
- 38:07know, gives her prices. And he says, let me see what you
- 38:10got. 75 for a fuck, 50 for BJ25 for a pump and run.
- 38:16Yep, those are her prices. I don't, I don't know what the
- 38:21market is for that stuff. I don't know if those are deals
- 38:23or not. I have no frame of reference,
- 38:25although when I watched at Zola, she got her to set her prices
- 38:32like 500 per. So I think, yeah, I think she
- 38:36could be doing better. So anyway, she when he says
- 38:42like, show me what you got, she shows shows her babies.
- 38:45But then he says the wig too. And she seems like she's like,
- 38:50OK, And then he says, get it wet and she's got a dunk her head
- 38:55out the window. And she goes, you know what?
- 38:56This is fucking weird. I'm leaving.
- 38:58It is weird. I wonder what he was going for
- 39:00here. I don't know.
- 39:02There's no way he wasn't going to do this in the 1st place.
- 39:05He knew he was going to kill her.
- 39:06Yeah, I guess the whole point was like he was wanting her to
- 39:08stick her head out the window so he could roll the window up and
- 39:10get it stuck. Yeah.
- 39:12Yeah, So yeah, she tries to climb it because he says and
- 39:16then leave and the it's like a child lock basically.
- 39:20So she can't get out. So he's like, well, you gotta go
- 39:22through the window. And then as she does, he rolls
- 39:24the window up and starts driving and she smashes her head on her
- 39:28trailer. And then we PowerPoint slide
- 39:30effect into the title. Yeah, it's not.
- 39:34The best, which is another fast and furious connection because
- 39:38that is how they love. There's subtitles.
- 39:41It's a little bit more effective in Fast and Furious than it is
- 39:45right here. Yeah, is.
- 39:47It I'd argue it's equally as distracting.
- 39:51OK, so we now cut to a bunch of screaming.
- 39:56It's just been breaking, Bobby. Yeah, the classic this vehicle
- 39:59in front of us. Bus is being towed, but we're
- 40:01gonna pretend that the sleeping person will be waking up to an
- 40:04imminent crash. That old gem.
- 40:06It's a good way to get the viewers attention, I'll say.
- 40:10It's a good way to jolt us into the movie there.
- 40:13They are headed to Vegas. It is going to be Bobby and
- 40:16Melissa's joint bachelor Bachelorette party.
- 40:19Yeah, yeah, Apparently that's the thing that people were doing
- 40:22at the time. I guess.
- 40:23I don't know. I wasn't getting married back in
- 40:252008, so I don't know. Yeah, you were 2008.
- 40:28So I was, yeah. So like.
- 40:31They wanted to road trip instead of doing a flight because
- 40:35Melissa and Kayla haven't seen each other in a while and they
- 40:37wanted to spend some quality time.
- 40:39They pull up to get some gas, and there is what appears to be
- 40:44a gas station attendant waiting to pump gas.
- 40:47And then he says we need payment upfront and then just smooches
- 40:51her. Smooches Kayla.
- 40:53Yeah. And Melissa and Bobby are ready
- 40:55to like, punch this man. And then Kayla's like, surprise,
- 41:00he's my date. Met him on Myspace.
- 41:03That's right. You remember that place?
- 41:04Y'all so much. Yeah, it really does.
- 41:07But it's it's true. It's true for the time, Myspace.
- 41:10You know who wouldn't be deregulating moderation and
- 41:16allowing hate speech? Tom.
- 41:20Do we know that? We don't know.
- 41:22He seems like he was a decent guy.
- 41:24I don't know. So yeah.
- 41:26And I like how he does date a little bit.
- 41:30Talking about the top friends. All of the people listened that
- 41:34were familiar with Myspace knows this shit.
- 41:36That was the big deal back in the day.
- 41:38Who is your #1 friend? It caused a lot of fights with
- 41:42people. Learning baby coding so that way
- 41:46you could get your wallpaper exactly the way you like it.
- 41:49Your setup perfect. Everybody was like, oh, I'm good
- 41:52at HTML, I'm so good at coding. No, you just go to a fucking
- 41:55website and copy paste shit. That's all you did?
- 41:57Yeah. Like I would go in there and I'd
- 41:59see where it says like green and I'd change it to pink.
- 42:01So like the the IT would be a little bit different.
- 42:05And then you change like your profile name to reflect your
- 42:07mood or like if you're mad at somebody, you could do like a
- 42:10passive aggressive. My favorite?
- 42:11Type thing was choosing what song you wanted to play.
- 42:15Oh my God, I always installed the mods where you could put a
- 42:17whole playlist on there. Really.
- 42:19Yeah. But like that all said to be
- 42:21perfectly curated because it was only ever like five.
- 42:23Yeah, you gotta. Know you gotta let people know
- 42:25who you are, yeah? Yeah, and you know who I was at
- 42:28this time? Like Nick, maybe?
- 42:31Up there. Yeah, that's what I figured.
- 42:36I had the strokes on mine. So nothing has changed 17.
- 42:42Years. I've not changed one bit since I
- 42:44was in high school. You found a band you liked and
- 42:47you stuck to it. It's just a testament to how
- 42:49good the fucking strokes are, OK?
- 42:52I mean, strokes can't even stick to the strokes.
- 42:54They're they're yeah, but it's a testament man.
- 43:01They've been fucking rocking for decades now.
- 43:03OK, so Nick convinces them to take back roads to Vegas because
- 43:08it's faster than the highways, you know, I guess he.
- 43:12Doesn't make sense because then he says that they're running
- 43:14parallel to the highways. Yeah, I like Bobby's argument.
- 43:18He's like, yeah, well, they made highways for a reason, man, So
- 43:21like, maybe we should stick with those.
- 43:22And he's like, no, trust me. Like this will get us there
- 43:24quicker. We'll have more time to have fun
- 43:26up in Vegas. It'll be better.
- 43:28So they agree to go along with this plan and they they take the
- 43:32back roads so. The car ends up dying.
- 43:36Yeah, the the engine ceases and it's all because Melissa just
- 43:41didn't want to put any oil in her car.
- 43:44I don't find this believable because of various reasons, one
- 43:49being that we make a point later that Melissa dated a gearhead in
- 43:53high school so she does actually know some stuff about like bikes
- 43:57and that transfers over to like cars.
- 44:01And also, this was, I think it's actually Kayla's car, but
- 44:05because it was their grandma. You're right.
- 44:06It's Kayla's driving. Yeah, here, Yeah.
- 44:09Yeah, and Kayla makes a point about like the rich Corinthian
- 44:12leather seats. And it seems like she actually
- 44:15really likes this car. So I don't think she would do
- 44:17something as basic as not put oil in the car.
- 44:22I liked my heated seats in my last car, but I couldn't tell
- 44:26you a single thing about it. You know, I could believe it.
- 44:32I just, I don't know, this seems like a little bit of a like it
- 44:36was there. It's an old car.
- 44:37It's in 1983. Like that's all you had to say.
- 44:40You didn't have to be like ha ha silly woman doesn't put oil in
- 44:43engine. I don't think this movie's ever
- 44:45trying to do that because they make a woman a gear head in a
- 44:48few minutes. Yeah, I'm just saying like I
- 44:50they, they didn't need to do this.
- 44:52No, it's a bit contrived. Yeah, that's all I'm saying.
- 44:55So anyways, they don't have any service, so they're gonna just
- 44:59walk the rest of the way until they can at least hit some sort
- 45:03of civilization. And they just leave their
- 45:05luggage. They won't.
- 45:06What are you gonna do? You don't really know.
- 45:08Yeah, I they. Have to smell so bad.
- 45:13Yeah, those clothes are just getting sweat all up in them.
- 45:17I feel like that's why Nick is the way he was.
- 45:18He's just projecting later on anyway, so they they walk and
- 45:23they end up coming across the house eventually and they bust
- 45:27onto the property, bust through the gate and then they make it
- 45:30up to the house. They see some Mel laying out
- 45:33front. Mel is over a month old, so they
- 45:36know that whoever lives here hasn't been here for a long
- 45:38time. Nick ends up just busting the
- 45:41window down. Yeah, So he breaks in, goes
- 45:44inside, starts screaming. So they freak out, they go to
- 45:49the door, they bust it down, and then it ends up just being him
- 45:52on crutches, just fucking with. Them trying to open up a bag of
- 45:55chips. Yep.
- 45:56And those chips are over a year expired.
- 45:59So yeah. So who knows how long Russy's
- 46:01been gone? Probably since the last movie.
- 46:03Yeah, like he just, he's been wandering ever since.
- 46:05Yeah, this seems that way. So they end up walking around
- 46:10while they're there checking things out.
- 46:12They make it over to the. Garage, yeah.
- 46:14So those aren't that's not an option.
- 46:16They do wander outside at one point and the house is like at
- 46:20the edge of like a Cliff overlooking a valley.
- 46:22And it is a really pretty. It's a nice, yeah, it's a cool
- 46:26place to have a house. I would say it'd be a little bit
- 46:28scary if you're afraid of heights, but it's neat.
- 46:31They get to the garage, barn, whatever, and it's got markings
- 46:35on the wall where it says like five me.
- 46:39I call it this one, The torture wall.
- 46:42OK, Yeah. And yeah, it's.
- 46:45I like that they set this up here.
- 46:46We see that. And like, what the fuck is this?
- 46:48Clearly, something not good happens right here.
- 46:51Yeah. And you can tell that it
- 46:52registers with them too. Well, they make a joke about it
- 46:55being kinky. Could be kinky I guess.
- 46:58Could be, so they end up seeing a car covered in tarp and they
- 47:03pull it off. It ends up being a 71 Chevy
- 47:06Chevelle hardtop for you gear heads out there.
- 47:10You. You car people.
- 47:11It's a car. It's a, it's a, it's one that
- 47:14goes room. It drive a beep, that's all I
- 47:20need. We could.
- 47:20Assume it does all these things I remember and I still maintain
- 47:26I think it would have been cool if this was the car that they
- 47:31had in the. 1st movie Paul Walker that he bought.
- 47:34I was trying to fool her, yeah. And I can't remember his
- 47:39character's name, Paul Walker's character, but yeah, I thought
- 47:42it would have been cool if he had kept that.
- 47:45That's that's like a souvenir type deal.
- 47:47Yeah, but that just lends more credence to our idea that he's
- 47:50just been wandering ever since, Yeah, trying to find Paul
- 47:53Walker. Yeah, OK.
- 47:56So they decide that they're going to take everybody except
- 47:58for Melissa. I was like, yeah, we should just
- 48:00take the car. And eventually she agrees,
- 48:02because the plan is that they'll go to the next stand over, rent
- 48:05a car, bring this one back. I like how Nick is convincing
- 48:08him. He's like, come on, we're going
- 48:09to take it for a joyride. It's right there in the name.
- 48:13Thank you, Nick, for giving us that moment.
- 48:16Bobby's like, well, yeah, we're not going to steal it.
- 48:19We're just going to borrow it. But Melissa ends up leaving her
- 48:22number just in case. And she's like, I don't want him
- 48:25to call the cops. I'll leave my number.
- 48:27That way, if he gets back, he can call me, we can tell him the
- 48:29plan and we'll bring back money for damages.
- 48:32Yeah, that's fair. Yeah.
- 48:34So they leave, and then it cuts to Rusty Nell's truck pulling
- 48:38into his house. Do you want to say it or do you
- 48:41want me to say it? Say what?
- 48:44You say this every time we watch the movie, and now you're not
- 48:46going to say it when we're talking about it on the podcast.
- 48:48I don't know what you're talking about.
- 48:50How when the truck pulls up he looks it looks like the truck
- 48:53itself is angry at the house being busted in.
- 48:56Did I say that? Yeah, you say it literally every
- 48:58time we watch it. You're like, the chocolate's
- 49:00angry. I don't remember that because
- 49:02he's like, it's got its little exhaust pipes.
- 49:04And he goes, yeah. No, I do like that they make the
- 49:10truck a character basically in these movies.
- 49:13Yeah. He takes the shining light
- 49:15thing, the spotlight from the first movie.
- 49:18Yeah. And he's like shining around his
- 49:19house to see if anybody's there. So they have a rental waiting
- 49:23for them in the next town over. They on the way there they
- 49:27arrive at a truck stop for some food.
- 49:30While they're out there they see a bike.
- 49:32This is where we get the whole gearhead conversation and then a
- 49:35semi blows right past them in the parking lot going way too
- 49:39fast. And I think Melissa has the
- 49:40right reaction where she throws her coffee and says fuck you.
- 49:44I believe it's Kayla that gives them the finger.
- 49:46Kayla, sorry, got them mixed up. Yeah, she gives them the finger.
- 49:49She's pissed off, Yeah, Agreeing.
- 49:52I think that that's the right. Reaction and then Nick, because
- 49:54he's a little poser baby, he's like, yeah, Rage Against the
- 49:57Machine. That's not.
- 49:58You're not using that the way you should be.
- 50:01That's an emo band, right? Surely I just, I feel like that
- 50:08would have been a fun running thing.
- 50:10If he's like guessing things like not emo bands, but things
- 50:14that he thinks are emo bands. Yeah, well, that's like at the
- 50:20God whatever that big fucking music festival is that a lot of
- 50:23influencers go to. When we were young.
- 50:25No. Coachella.
- 50:27Yes, Coachella. And like, people will go out
- 50:29there and ask them if they're excited to see whatever band and
- 50:32they're just making it up. And they'll be like, Oh my God,
- 50:34yeah, I love them so. Much.
- 50:35Oh, man. We had a guy like that in high
- 50:37school. He would like, he tried to,
- 50:39like, stun on people by, like, just going on and on about
- 50:42obscure bands all the time. So somebody went over to him one
- 50:45time. I was like, yeah, So what do you
- 50:46think of the rubber bands? He's like, Oh my God, I love
- 50:47them. And like, he's just like, they
- 50:49made it up. OK.
- 50:53So yeah, that happens. I make it to the truck stop and
- 50:57they're getting a table there. Nick is being kind of an asshole
- 50:59to everybody. Oh, shit.
- 51:01Starts off with the waiter, the waitress.
- 51:03She's like, all right, because he's like, he's getting like the
- 51:05gambler. 'S that she's got two names,
- 51:07Yeah, like Betty Sue and I love her.
- 51:10She turns her around and he's like, my name's Nick and yours.
- 51:14And she goes Jolene. That's one name, pumpkin.
- 51:16Yeah, that's one name, not 2. So you lose, you heard?
- 51:19Yeah. So yeah, they sit down to order.
- 51:25He is continuing to just shit on all of the people.
- 51:28They're talking about how it stinks, gets up, loudly, says
- 51:32don't want this place smelling like a truck stop.
- 51:35Yeah, I feel bad for everybody involved with him.
- 51:39He's one of those people that just like you put your head down
- 51:41and then you cover your face with your hand and just like, I
- 51:44don't fucking know this guy. That is basically what they do
- 51:46at. That's what Melissa does.
- 51:48Yeah, Kayla. Kayla giggles at it.
- 51:50He's encouraging. Him.
- 51:51No, I feel like hers is more uncomfortable laughter.
- 51:54No, I think that she finds it somewhat enjoyable.
- 51:56She's like, I don't that wasn't really cool, but it's kind of
- 51:59funny. I kind of, you know, I think
- 52:01that that's where she's at with it.
- 52:05Bobby's frustrated. Yeah, so he's in the bathroom
- 52:08and their food gets delivered. Seems like maybe they eat it.
- 52:12He still isn't back. Melissa gets a call and it's
- 52:16resting now. He calls her Goldilocks, and
- 52:18she's like, wait, what? He goes, yeah, you broke into my
- 52:20house and I wasn't home and took something to mine.
- 52:22She's like, oh. It's a good save on this part.
- 52:25Yeah, Before this, you could see Rusty had pulled up right
- 52:28outside the diner. Yeah, the angry truck was
- 52:30glaring in through the window. So you know he's there too,
- 52:32Yeah. So she just thanks him for not
- 52:36going to the cops, and he goes, yeah, I'd expect the same
- 52:39courtesy. And she's like, well, what?
- 52:41And she freaks out, runs through the bathroom and on the stall.
- 52:44Written in blood is not here. Yeah, and I always wonder how
- 52:48much time did he have to do this without anybody going in there
- 52:52and noticing? You know, I feel like somebody
- 52:56probably came in, he showed his chainsaw wallet chain and they
- 53:01were like, as you were. Yeah, Trucker's code.
- 53:05Yeah, I guess. I don't know.
- 53:07Is that a thing, Truckers? You walk on shit in the
- 53:12bathroom, you keep it, keep it, keep.
- 53:14That shit to yourself. What happens in the bathroom
- 53:16stays in the bathroom. Snitches get fucking stitches.
- 53:19Yeah, so she now has freaked the fuck out.
- 53:23Yeah, and he tells her that they need to talk on a private
- 53:26channel, which works out because he's got a radio in his car that
- 53:29they stole, and he has them run over their phones.
- 53:33And of course, Nick is one of those.
- 53:34He's like, no, I stood in line for two days to get this phone.
- 53:37I hate him. Yeah, he's he's a shit bag.
- 53:43Did you notice, though we didn't really talk about this, him and
- 53:48Kayla have matching purple streaks in their hair.
- 53:50I know she had one and I know she had one too.
- 53:52Yeah. I didn't really make the
- 53:54correlation that they were matching, though.
- 53:57Yeah, that is interesting. So he says.
- 54:02You know, your friend there gave me something before.
- 54:05I reckon I'm entitled to it. She's like what?
- 54:09He has the finger, so she's gotta give her finger.
- 54:12Yeah, gotta go cut her finger off.
- 54:14Yeah, he's like, and I know a fresh cut.
- 54:15It's gotta be fresh cut finger. Yeah.
- 54:18So they. Fresh.
- 54:20Never frozen? Nope.
- 54:22And I like Wendy's. Exactly.
- 54:23So they make a plan. They're like, OK, we're gonna go
- 54:26to a Funeral Home. Not the worst plan in the world,
- 54:28except for when you're dealing with a psychopath who probably
- 54:31does actually know what a freshly cut finger looks like
- 54:34and is probably also watching you.
- 54:36I think that's a gamble I'd be willing to take in this
- 54:38situation, though. So they go there.
- 54:41They arrive at a funeral parlor. Nick and Melissa stay behind
- 54:47while Kayla goes in to sneak in and get the finger.
- 54:50This scene is actually pretty well done.
- 54:53I think it's pretty tense, her climbing around, almost cutting
- 54:55off the one guy's finger. And like, her face when she does
- 54:58that is perfect. Like her freaking out.
- 55:01Yeah, about the fact that the guy's actually alive.
- 55:03Yeah, it's a fucking dude that works there just pretending to
- 55:07be dead. Yeah.
- 55:08I mean, yeah, that's what's happening.
- 55:09Taking a nap. I don't care what you say.
- 55:11He's pretending to be dead. OK, but.
- 55:13Aren't we all? No peace being weird.
- 55:16I'm not normalizing this one bit at all, not even playfully.
- 55:20It's weird as fuck. So she's freaked out by that.
- 55:26So she goes over to one of like the little drawers and she pulls
- 55:29out a body. Yeah, and it's a woman.
- 55:32Which better call to cut off a woman finger than a man finger
- 55:35in this situation? So they've got outside, we see
- 55:40Melissa and Nick are seeing somebody else pull up and he's
- 55:43about to go inside and they're trying.
- 55:44They're like panicking, trying to figure out what to do.
- 55:47But just as he's about to walk in, Kayla comes out.
- 55:50So they made it. And then he turns around and
- 55:54starts storming towards the car and they're freaked the fuck
- 55:56out. And then he gets over there.
- 55:57He's like, I told you guys not to park here.
- 55:58Yeah, you heard. Emergency vehicles only.
- 56:00You heard? And I like he's like, OK, sorry,
- 56:04Mr. Gorge. Like slowly driving off.
- 56:09I love the concept of calling him Mr. Lurch.
- 56:11Yeah, instead of just Lurch. It's kind of funny, I'll give
- 56:14him credit there. So Kayla and Nick go and hide.
- 56:19They've got a plan while Melissa does the finger drop.
- 56:21Yeah, cuz it has to be Melissa by herself, he said.
- 56:24Yeah. So she is going to stall while
- 56:26they do whatever it is that they're going to do.
- 56:29He has her part nose to nose with the truck and then says
- 56:33that she needs to strip down to her underwear to show that she's
- 56:35not wearing a wire and to. Or weapons, yeah, Yeah, so.
- 56:41She is wearing implausibly white underwear for the amount that
- 56:43they have been sweating and the lack of change of clothing that
- 56:47they have with them. Yeah, yeah.
- 56:50So she gets out there, she does her little strip, she does a
- 56:53twirl. While all this is happening,
- 56:56Kayla and Nick have snuck underneath the truck.
- 57:00That's out there. Kayla's got a scalpel that she
- 57:03took from the funeral parlor and Nick has like a like a segment
- 57:07of rebar or something like that. Yeah, so they.
- 57:12Which I think isn't fun like it's a nice connection also to
- 57:15the first one because remember at the end Fuller gets like his
- 57:17leg is severed with the the rebar.
- 57:21Yeah, I hadn't thought about that.
- 57:22You're. Right.
- 57:22It severed. It punctured.
- 57:24Punctured. Yeah.
- 57:25Impelled. Impaled.
- 57:26Yeah, so she goes over there to deliver the finger, and then he
- 57:31opens the door and it's that guy.
- 57:32And he's like, holy shit, that was an awesome show.
- 57:35I got it uploaded right here on YouTube.
- 57:37Gonna get a million hits, you heard?
- 57:40And she's like, oh, I'm sorry, you're not the guy.
- 57:43He's like, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 57:44I got a radio from a dude over the CB said if I wanted a show,
- 57:50come over here and park. And you gave me a show, all
- 57:53right, And then? She starts screaming for Bobby
- 57:55and he starts screaming back and he then says that her boobies
- 58:00are too small anyway. Yeah, like some circus.
- 58:03Circus freak boobies. Yeah, it's so stupid.
- 58:08I felt like any time I've watched this before I'm like,
- 58:11that guy had to have been like a personality or knew the director
- 58:15or something cuz he's such a wacky and out of place
- 58:19character. I don't know what the fuck is
- 58:20happening. I love the idea that he
- 58:23auditioned for the role, took his shot and the director is
- 58:25like brilliant, love it. This is what we.
- 58:27Need play it up that hard? Please, yes.
- 58:30Can you be more Southern? Perfect.
- 58:34So, yeah. So he's like, you know, that's
- 58:37not because Melissa comes back. She's angry.
- 58:41She's like, I don't get it. We did everything you said.
- 58:43He's no. I saw you clip a fake or a dead
- 58:48woman's finger. So you didn't actually do what I
- 58:50said. If you want to see a fresh
- 58:51finger, take a look in the glove compartment.
- 58:54Yeah, we didn't say before, but like beforehand, we saw Rusty
- 58:58take Bobby and actually cut off his finger.
- 59:00So yeah, he moved that finger to their glove compartment.
- 59:04Yeah. And then he said, uh oh, you
- 59:07boyfriend's is in a lot of blood.
- 59:09And then he takes the cigarette lighter and.
- 59:12Cauterizes. Cauterizes.
- 59:14Yeah. All right.
- 59:17So now Rusty has decided to move on.
- 59:20He stops at a bar to get him some cigarettes.
- 59:22Yeah, Bobby takes us as this chance of trying it free.
- 59:26Love the bar chunter. Inside he goes friend.
- 59:29You have to be a member to come into a bar in Utah.
- 59:32I don't know why he sounds like he's trying to do a main accent,
- 59:35but it's fine. What is a member?
- 59:38I don't understand what this whole thing is.
- 59:41I don't know, I again, this whole thing is confusing to me.
- 59:45I'm not going to pretend like it's weird because like where I
- 59:48was living in 2008, alcohol was still illegal, so there were
- 59:53places where you could get alcohol, but.
- 59:55The thing is, you know, yeah, because they're in Utah, so.
- 59:58Maybe that's what it was, maybe he's something to VFW because
- 1:00:01that's where you could drink in Harlan.
- 1:00:04Yeah, you would, but you have to be a member to get there.
- 1:00:08Yeah, maybe. I could be a VFW, I don't know.
- 1:00:10Either way, yeah, he's over there and he just ignores
- 1:00:12everything he says. And then he's intimidated,
- 1:00:15harassing now. So he's like, OK, whatever.
- 1:00:18He's the sheriff and Jack Frost. He's like, OK, yeah, no spine.
- 1:00:25So he goes outside, he takes out the trash and he's gonna take
- 1:00:27smoke. And then he sees lights flashing
- 1:00:29on the semi and as he's walking over and seeing a very panicked
- 1:00:33Bobby, he gets chain jawed. Chain jawed.
- 1:00:37I like that term. I.
- 1:00:39Came up with it as I was saying it.
- 1:00:40I like it. Yeah.
- 1:00:42Yep. Takes the chainsaw to the jaw
- 1:00:44and cuts it off, Rips it up. He did.
- 1:00:48Rusty gets in the cab of the truck, drops it right in front
- 1:00:52of the Bobby. Yes.
- 1:00:53Oh boy, I I again I I like that this is his calling card.
- 1:00:57Just collecting jaws. It's pretty cool.
- 1:01:00Melissa calls Rusty and she is like pleading with him and when
- 1:01:04he finally answers he says I'm going to need you to get
- 1:01:07something for me. Haspy chicken feed.
- 1:01:11You know what the fuck is that? And Nick is like it's crack.
- 1:01:15Yeah, Crystal myth. Yeah, don't ask how I know my
- 1:01:19dad. Don't ask how I know.
- 1:01:21Here's how I know so. But The thing is, Nick has to be
- 1:01:26the one to get it and he's got to wear the sex workers outfit
- 1:01:30from the beginning, which I call bullshit that this fits him.
- 1:01:33Oh dude, I didn't. I've never made that connection.
- 1:01:35That that was the sex worker's outfit.
- 1:01:37Wow. Yeah, it's the same wig, same
- 1:01:39jacket, same little red dress. But there's no it is.
- 1:01:42I mean, he is a lanky man. I will give you that.
- 1:01:45Yeah, but I just. It doesn't.
- 1:01:48There's no way this fits. No.
- 1:01:51And especially the shoe. Especially the fucking shoes.
- 1:01:54It could be like a Peggy Hill. She couldn't have big feet.
- 1:01:57Maybe I just those fit Nick very well is all I'm saying.
- 1:02:03I mean, we say all the time actors are tinier than they
- 1:02:07appear on movies. Maybe he is a very tiny person.
- 1:02:10Maybe. Maybe.
- 1:02:12Yeah, well, he wears it well. They take the opportunity to
- 1:02:15pretty him up, to make him look the part they like.
- 1:02:18They have to force him to do that because he is straight up
- 1:02:20refusing. Melissa holds him at scalpel
- 1:02:22point, saying that you're going to do this because Bobby's a
- 1:02:25good person and you're a terrible person.
- 1:02:27Yeah. Then he believes her.
- 1:02:30He's like, OK, fine, I'll fucking do it.
- 1:02:32Yeah, and she's like, what are you so afraid of, Mr. Tattoo
- 1:02:35Guy? And he goes.
- 1:02:36Her face. And then he's just like.
- 1:02:39Oh, yeah, So and this is where we get race wars.
- 1:02:44It's at the the trucker camp that they have here.
- 1:02:48And we see them do drag racing, like, just like Fast and
- 1:02:52Furious, zooming in on the butt in between, yeah, a race star.
- 1:02:55And then like, person flags them to go and they drive right
- 1:02:58through. It's all of that.
- 1:03:00There's all kinds of people partying, doing drugs and shit.
- 1:03:03You know it is exactly the same. Yeah, and so Kayla and Melissa
- 1:03:07are following because they realize this is probably their
- 1:03:10only chance. And at one point, Melissa's
- 1:03:11like, no, we need to do exactly what he says.
- 1:03:13And Kayla's like, well, first of all, he didn't say that we had
- 1:03:15to stay in the car. Second of all, all he said is
- 1:03:17that we'll be reunited, and that just means that he's going to
- 1:03:19kill us all. True.
- 1:03:21And she's correct. Yeah.
- 1:03:23So they follow to try and see if they can find Rusty Male or
- 1:03:27something. And what happens is kind of
- 1:03:30across, like the drag racing strip, we see Nick get abducted
- 1:03:36by Rusty. Yeah.
- 1:03:38So they run back to their car. Melissa and Kayla do, and they
- 1:03:40follow him. And then as they're making lose
- 1:03:44Rusty, but then as they're driving, Rusty gets behind him
- 1:03:48or behind them. This fucking pisses me off cuz
- 1:03:52even going slowly even idling a semi makes a lot of God damn
- 1:03:58noise. Oh yeah.
- 1:03:59And like they are surprised until he flashes the light and
- 1:04:02honks the horn. Like there's no way that they
- 1:04:04didn't. They're on edge trying to find
- 1:04:07him. There's no way that they don't
- 1:04:08hear. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:14You would be able to tell yeah for dramatic effect for the
- 1:04:17movie. I just, I don't know.
- 1:04:21So they end up in kind of like a race, but what he does is he
- 1:04:26hits the car and causes it to flip over.
- 1:04:28Kayla comes to and she sees that he is cracking up.
- 1:04:33Who this is good. I like this.
- 1:04:35Yeah, this. It's really then, like, seeing
- 1:04:37that and it puts me in like, oh, fuck.
- 1:04:40Like, yeah. Being caught in a wreck, being
- 1:04:43trapped in my seat belt and stuff like that.
- 1:04:46Like, this is just kind of nightmare fuel.
- 1:04:48She so Kayla takes like a Shard of glass from the window.
- 1:04:52Cuts Melissa free from her seat belt.
- 1:04:54Yeah, and he's like, OK, so at the last second you got to jump
- 1:04:57and then. He won't see you from the single
- 1:04:58and she goes, OK, we got to get you out.
- 1:05:00And she goes, I'm pinned, like, and her leg is just, it is
- 1:05:04wedged up between yeah. And so they have their sister
- 1:05:10goodbye, but it has to be very quick because he's coming and
- 1:05:13he's coming fast. And Melissa jumps at the last
- 1:05:16minute and it works because he doesn't see her.
- 1:05:18Yep, car explodes dead big. Big, big, big dead, big explode.
- 1:05:25Dead fire car shrapnel. Hugely.
- 1:05:28Hugely. Thank God it's the coffee again,
- 1:05:34guys. It's.
- 1:05:35The coffee. OK, so.
- 1:05:40He goes back. Home.
- 1:05:41Yeah, he's going back home and he's going home.
- 1:05:44He takes Nick, gets him out of the truck, and carries him to
- 1:05:47the torture wall where Bobby is waiting.
- 1:05:50Yep. So got him in seats at a table,
- 1:05:54staring across from each other and.
- 1:05:57He he asked because the whole there's this other running theme
- 1:06:01where Nick loves to gamble and Rusty is like, you're a gambling
- 1:06:06man, so what's your game? And Nick is like refusing the
- 1:06:10answer. He goes watch your game and
- 1:06:12threatens to cut off his pee pee.
- 1:06:14And so Nick finally says craps, and you think that this means
- 1:06:18that they're going to play whatever game Nick says.
- 1:06:21But instead, Rusty's like, cool, I got a game I like.
- 1:06:24Yeah, you just wanted the dramatic like.
- 1:06:26You want it's a Segway, Yeah, Segway into like my favorite
- 1:06:30game, Torture Wall. I wish you'd given it a name.
- 1:06:35I wish you would too, but I'm just gonna.
- 1:06:38I'm coining it here and now if nobody else has done and it's
- 1:06:42called Torture Wall, that's the name of the game.
- 1:06:45I want to call it something else.
- 1:06:48No torture wall. I I coined it.
- 1:06:51I stuck my like my flag in that one.
- 1:06:56I want to call it Rustyatzi. Rustyatzi, I would give it to
- 1:07:03you if he had them do it with a cup, but he doesn't.
- 1:07:07And you got to do it in like the cardboard box.
- 1:07:09Yeah, he had to like, throw the dice there.
- 1:07:12Nobody actually makes you do it into the lid, it's just the
- 1:07:15smarter way to do it so that way you don't have dice go tumbling.
- 1:07:17Especially when you're playing with a nine year old.
- 1:07:19Yeah, that's true. Yeah.
- 1:07:20But no, no cup, no Yahtzee. That's how that's how it goes.
- 1:07:26No Cup, no Yahtzee. So they make Nick roll first.
- 1:07:33And he gets I got 5 me. Cap Yeah, yeah. 5 Yep.
- 1:07:38Me, Cap and Rusty comes up behind Bobby and beats his knee
- 1:07:47with a lead pipe. Back-to-back movies.
- 1:07:50We've had kneecap trauma. He didn't tell them that he was
- 1:07:55doing that. They were rolling for the other
- 1:07:57person. Yeah.
- 1:07:58So then it's Bobby's turn, and Nick is begging him not to.
- 1:08:01And it's kind of like, man, you just did it to him.
- 1:08:05Like like. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:07Like, give him his at least, yeah.
- 1:08:09And Bobby rolls A7, which is safe.
- 1:08:12I can't believe Rusty actually has that as an option.
- 1:08:15I feel like it's kind of one of those things that he's like, it
- 1:08:18seems dishonest if I don't have that as an option somewhere.
- 1:08:21Yeah, like they're like, they're never gonna like actually let me
- 1:08:24license this if like I don't have.
- 1:08:26This. Like I got to make it like
- 1:08:28marketable. So then it's Nick's turn again
- 1:08:34and he rolls A4. Which is chest.
- 1:08:38Yep. So he goes into like a little
- 1:08:41backroom that only Nick can see him.
- 1:08:43And Nick looks in there and sees him take a blowtorch and he
- 1:08:48takes like a like a piece of iron of something.
- 1:08:51He's just lighting it up, Travis.
- 1:08:53It is 2 rusty nails in the shape of an R.
- 1:08:57Is it Yes. Oh, you know, fucking.
- 1:09:00Winding him. Wow, I never knew that there's
- 1:09:04so much about this movie that I just never really noticed
- 1:09:07before. Man, this movie's fucking deep.
- 1:09:12Rusty nail and rusty nails. Yeah.
- 1:09:15I admire that. Yeah, he's got a flair for the
- 1:09:18dramatic. He really does, yeah.
- 1:09:21And the whole time he's lighting the torch, all I can hear is Bam
- 1:09:25and Jackass #2 where he goes. OK, you said 30 seconds, 30
- 1:09:33seconds ago. Yeah, you got to get it hot for
- 1:09:36it to be effective, all right? Because I just don't want to
- 1:09:39have to do it twice. That's weird.
- 1:09:41So he he gets it all nice and hot.
- 1:09:44So God, this is implausible too. So he drops it, and this is an
- 1:09:49interesting way to do it. He drops it into Bobby's shirt
- 1:09:52pocket and presses it into his chest.
- 1:09:55Yeah, the shirt wouldn't just burn a neat little hole.
- 1:10:00It just catches on fires. It like how synthetic are these
- 1:10:04fibers first of all, Second of all, like it would probably be
- 1:10:08more closer to like the shape of the R and it would probably melt
- 1:10:14some of the fabric to it too depending on what the fibers are
- 1:10:17in his shirt. And also later we are gonna see
- 1:10:21his nipple poking through this hole in his shirt and there is
- 1:10:24no burn wound on his chest. Well, they didn't Photoshop that
- 1:10:27part, they only photoshopped the.
- 1:10:28Face. They ask Nick Zano for a
- 1:10:31shirtless picture and he goes, no, they're like, we need it,
- 1:10:35Nick. Research, Nick.
- 1:10:38It's for the movie Nick. Like whenever, like he made it
- 1:10:44to the final destination and like, OK, so we're going to make
- 1:10:46like guts come out of your butt. Like you don't need to actually
- 1:10:49like, take a picture of my butt. They're like what the fuck?
- 1:10:53Not my guts, anything. Either.
- 1:10:56It's like, OK, real bad experience and joyride too.
- 1:11:01So just wanted to make sure. Yeah.
- 1:11:06So yeah. Then it's his turn to roll again
- 1:11:09and he rolls snake eyes. Oh boy, which?
- 1:11:12I find it really interesting rest he didn't call him snake
- 1:11:14eyes and it said said double ones.
- 1:11:16Yeah, I wrote Snake Eyes too, and yeah, it's Snake Eyes.
- 1:11:19Double ones. Double ones.
- 1:11:21I'm not even a gambler. Maybe snake eyes?
- 1:11:24Maybe Snake Eyes is already copyrighted.
- 1:11:26He couldn't do that for his own game.
- 1:11:28He's like, I gotta call something else.
- 1:11:30Yeah, double ones. 11 There we go.
- 1:11:33Yeah, catchy, Catchy is a good job.
- 1:11:35Rest. Impending.
- 1:11:37Do you think that like the different editions of the game
- 1:11:40is like how fancy your little rusty male R is?
- 1:11:44Like maybe you get a gold plated one in the anniversary edition.
- 1:11:48I feel like the rustier the better.
- 1:11:50Yeah, like you want. You want the authentic.
- 1:11:53You want it like when you touch it and you it like it's bumpy.
- 1:11:56Like you want to be able to like fill the.
- 1:11:58Corroded like it's got like even that hint of blue on it where
- 1:12:02it's over oxidized that's. That's when, you know, you got
- 1:12:05like a, like a first edition, yeah.
- 1:12:09Anyway, Nick dies. Yeah, takes takes a rod and I
- 1:12:13like the little psychological fucking with that he gives Nick
- 1:12:16here. He like stands behind him in the
- 1:12:18darkness and he's like, where's he?
- 1:12:20Where's he? At first he pulls the wig down
- 1:12:22over his eyes. Yeah, and.
- 1:12:24Then he pulls it back up. Yeah, he's just talking with
- 1:12:27him. Yeah.
- 1:12:28And Bobby's like, keep your eyes on me, Keep your eyes on me.
- 1:12:31Yeah, and he's killed. This is the piece of rhubarb
- 1:12:34that he was using as a weapon. Yeah, he's like, I saw where you
- 1:12:37you're gonna use that on me, so I'm gonna use it on you.
- 1:12:39Right through his head. Yep, he did.
- 1:12:43We cut to Melissa and she's at a service station that has closed
- 1:12:46shop for the night. She busts in the cuz the pay
- 1:12:51phone outside was not working. Yep.
- 1:12:53And instead of using the phone inside she steals a bike cuz
- 1:12:57it's a motorcycle. It's like you know what?
- 1:12:59What's the worst that'll happen? A drained truck driver kidnaps
- 1:13:02my fiance. Too late.
- 1:13:04Yep, just so happens to be a police bike too.
- 1:13:07Yeah, which is very convenient for her.
- 1:13:09So she we cut over to Russy, who is dragging Bobby back to the
- 1:13:14truck and he gets into the back of it and ties a chain around
- 1:13:18his neck. Yeah, a chain noose.
- 1:13:19Mm. Hmm.
- 1:13:20Yep, and he lifts up in the gate in the back and then he flips on
- 1:13:23the button and it drags Bobby up and he got it's got him hanging
- 1:13:27just enough in the back there with.
- 1:13:30That he's like, I want you to know what it feels like to have
- 1:13:33something important taken away from you.
- 1:13:35He goes, you've taken everything from me.
- 1:13:36He goes, Not yet. Why?
- 1:13:40Why does he hate Bobby the most? I don't know why like in the the
- 1:13:46special features anytime Nick Zano was interviewed he's like
- 1:13:49well he's the most sensible 1 so of course he gets fucked with.
- 1:13:53Like that was his whole rationale for him being the
- 1:13:55target. Maybe that's why he wanted to be
- 1:13:57the butt gut guy in Final Destination.
- 1:13:59Maybe he was offered the lead and he goes, no, I know what
- 1:14:02happens to the sensible guy. I'm not doing it.
- 1:14:06I feel like he. He said I want butt guts.
- 1:14:07Yeah, he gets a bad drawn no matter what he's.
- 1:14:11A nut fan. That's probably all it is, A.
- 1:14:14What? The author, he wrote Fight Club.
- 1:14:18He also wrote a short story called Guts.
- 1:14:20OK. Which is.
- 1:14:22About guts. It's about butt guts.
- 1:14:25Is it? Yeah.
- 1:14:26For real? Yeah.
- 1:14:28Butt guts. Yeah.
- 1:14:29Wow. It's a.
- 1:14:30It's a. You can find it online.
- 1:14:32I'll see if I can find it so you can read it.
- 1:14:34I would like for that, you know, how like the books have like the
- 1:14:37little like folds where like you like, open it up like this is
- 1:14:40what the book's about. It's about butt guts, Guts.
- 1:14:44It's about butt guts just like on like the inner flap.
- 1:14:47Oh. My God, babe.
- 1:14:48Yeah. We just find they're juggling.
- 1:14:52It's about butt guts. It's not, though.
- 1:14:57It's absolutely it's. It's.
- 1:15:01Irrefutably. A little carrot, not about pie.
- 1:15:04Cuts. Yeah, well, it could be.
- 1:15:11Someday down the line, when we covered the final destination,
- 1:15:14it is about pie cuts. Maybe we'll we'll circle back
- 1:15:23to. That we.
- 1:15:24Finish the movie here. OK All right, So Nick is hung up
- 1:15:27in the back there and Russ is gonna get him fucked with a
- 1:15:31little bit more. He's gonna.
- 1:15:32The goal here is he's gonna get in the truck and drive and Nick
- 1:15:36has got strangling. Nick has got, like a little
- 1:15:38button that he's like able to put a little bit of his foot on
- 1:15:41to keep him on, like, you know, not be choking, yeah.
- 1:15:46Touching the. Ground some if he if his foot
- 1:15:48gets off of it, it causes the chain to pull up more, which
- 1:15:52will, you know, bumpy ride. He's going to be all over the
- 1:15:55place. It's going to kill him.
- 1:15:56Yeah, but as this is happening, motorcycle pulls up outside with
- 1:15:59flashing police lights. Yeah.
- 1:16:02So rush is like, OK, I'm going to go, I'll be right back.
- 1:16:05So he goes out there, nobody got the bike.
- 1:16:08So he's wondering around what the fuck is happening.
- 1:16:11What the fuck is happening is Melissa comes out from behind
- 1:16:14the truck with a shovel and beats the shit out of Rusty.
- 1:16:16Yep, and she gets into the trailer and she releases it from
- 1:16:20the cab. Yeah, I don't know how she
- 1:16:22figured this out. But she did well.
- 1:16:25Bobby was yelling at her various things, so that probably helps.
- 1:16:29I guess, yeah. She gets into the cab and she
- 1:16:32starts driving and somehow Rusty has recovered from his shovel
- 1:16:35beating and is on top of the cab, Michael Myers style.
- 1:16:37I had that yeah, very Michael Myers Halloween for.
- 1:16:41Him, well, I mean, and it's honestly though the parallels
- 1:16:44between him and Michael because he's always got the shadow over
- 1:16:47his face, which is what happens to Michael anytime he's out of
- 1:16:50the mask shadowface. You're right, yeah.
- 1:16:52Yeah, he just is. Michael or is blurry out of
- 1:16:54focus? Yeah, like in the newer ones,
- 1:16:56yeah. So yeah, they she's driving and
- 1:17:00he's trying to kill her, and eventually she drives through
- 1:17:03like a tank, which I had thought maybe was like a water
- 1:17:07reservoir. But like the first one.
- 1:17:10Yeah, what? Remember in the alternate, like
- 1:17:16the original movie, it was going to end with him, like the truck
- 1:17:19catches on fire and it was going to end with him, like running
- 1:17:21into the the water tower. Yes.
- 1:17:24Yeah. I thought they were maybe
- 1:17:26dealing with that here too. But now it's like fuel.
- 1:17:28Yeah, because the car immediately like comes up in
- 1:17:31flames. She ducks and rolls, which
- 1:17:36that's still a far jump. That's still gonna.
- 1:17:39You're gonna break bones. Yeah.
- 1:17:41And it goes over the edge with him still in it.
- 1:17:45And the trailer was left behind, so Bobby was able to get it out,
- 1:17:49yes, and free himself. And they walk over to the edge
- 1:17:53and he goes is it over? And she sees the chain wallet on
- 1:17:58on the ground and kicks it and she goes now it.
- 1:18:00Is yeah, you know, they they got their money's worth with that
- 1:18:05truck going over it because they had every available camera.
- 1:18:08Yeah, and. Then we got every angle that
- 1:18:10they filmed that at. They knew they only had one
- 1:18:13shot. I saw that thing explode, yeah.
- 1:18:15They only had one truck that they could do, but we saw it
- 1:18:18explode like five times from every single camera angle they
- 1:18:21got. So, yeah.
- 1:18:23And then it cuts to sometime in the future, don't know how long
- 1:18:28it's been, but there's a woman on the side of the road and.
- 1:18:30And she's got her car broken down.
- 1:18:33Yeah. So she gets onto the side of the
- 1:18:35road, waves down truck that's passing by, truck drives by a
- 1:18:38little bit, stops, backs up, opens the door.
- 1:18:42It's like you'll catch the death out there.
- 1:18:44It's rusty now. You can see his arm.
- 1:18:47He's got burn marks all over him.
- 1:18:49So he was still in the truck. Somehow managed to survive.
- 1:18:52He's he's survived 2 burning trucks at this point now.
- 1:18:55Should have been a little bit crispy the first time around
- 1:18:58when we saw him. Yeah, but yeah.
- 1:19:00And then she gets in the truck and then ends with him laughing
- 1:19:03and she come back. That's it, That's it.
- 1:19:08That's how it ends. I'm gonna say I still feel like
- 1:19:12A7 works for this. Yeah, me too.
- 1:19:14I think it's a really good sequel.
- 1:19:16I think it's a solid follow up to the first one.
- 1:19:18First one still wins for. Sure.
- 1:19:20I just think that like, it needs a little bit more connection
- 1:19:23between like a couple of the scenes, like make it feel less
- 1:19:28yes than this, than this. Yeah, I I do like that it it we
- 1:19:37get the scenes of him in person and we see his, like, method of,
- 1:19:42you know, how he deals with his victims.
- 1:19:44But again, I would have liked it if they had done more correlated
- 1:19:49scenes. I would have liked it to have
- 1:19:50been a chase still. Yeah.
- 1:19:52Because I feel like that was how they kept attention in the 1st
- 1:19:56movie. Yeah.
- 1:19:57So because like the truck is more of a character in the 1st
- 1:20:00movie because it's like that's rusty that we know of.
- 1:20:04And I feel like they they still capitalized a bit on and then
- 1:20:07like this person could be anywhere because you really
- 1:20:10don't think about how many semis you see when you're on the road.
- 1:20:13But because we don't see as much stuff on the road, we're mostly
- 1:20:16at truck stops and the like abandoned lot where they're
- 1:20:21racing. Like that's really all we get.
- 1:20:24Yeah. So.
- 1:20:26Yeah, so that that'd be my change.
- 1:20:29OK. All right.
- 1:20:32How did Italia feel about this? Well, Talia went outside very
- 1:20:38early on and then came back and she was watching it.
- 1:20:41She was laying there, she was caught up.
- 1:20:43She was keeping her eyes on it. I don't think she liked it as
- 1:20:45much as the first one, not for the same reasons you said, but
- 1:20:48because candy canes are one of her favorite things in the world
- 1:20:51and we don't we don't get as much candy cane action
- 1:20:54happening. We also don't get Paul Walker
- 1:20:57and Steve's on Yeah, which both of those are?
- 1:20:59She loves those guys. Yeah.
- 1:21:01So I think she was like, it's OK.
- 1:21:03It's just I have some minor corrections and really I feel
- 1:21:06like we should watch the first one and she watches the first
- 1:21:09one that's kind of one of our go to's for when we're leaving the
- 1:21:12TV on for them. So she does.
- 1:21:14Watched that one. Quite a.
- 1:21:15Bit yeah, it somehow always ends up being played.
- 1:21:18And then there was a little period of time there where Pluto
- 1:21:21was like, oh, joyride. Yeah, Joyride.
- 1:21:23Doing joyride a lot. So we were like, OK, I guess
- 1:21:26we're doing joyride a lot. Yeah, we're going to do a double
- 1:21:29feature with what's the Ryan Gosling movie Drive, Drive.
- 1:21:34Yeah, we're going to do a double feature of Drive and Joyride.
- 1:21:37I made a joke that it was going to be Joyride, and then Joyride
- 1:21:39started playing. Yeah.
- 1:21:40So yeah, they they had the pretty well set up there for a
- 1:21:46bit. But yeah, OK, tell me like that.
- 1:21:48To say is that I think she gives it a six, OK.
- 1:21:51I think she's just a little bit more disappointed than us.
- 1:21:53Yeah, I I could tell that it's always Ultimate Warrior.
- 1:21:56It's always ultimate warrior. I think her ultimate warrior is
- 1:22:03Jolene. Because Jolene.
- 1:22:05Hears everything that goes on around the food.
- 1:22:10I think you're right. Yeah, she she respected Jolene's
- 1:22:15sassiness. Yeah.
- 1:22:17And she really enjoyed how she is around food all day.
- 1:22:22Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:22:23She she knows all about the food.
- 1:22:24She gives the food. And plus then if she relates to
- 1:22:28Jolene, then we can sing at her. Zoe.
- 1:22:31Zoe. That's true.
- 1:22:33We can do that. We can start doing that if
- 1:22:34that's what she wants. OK, let's.
- 1:22:38See who did you relate to? Who?
- 1:22:40Who did I relate to? I related to that guy in the
- 1:22:47bar, like just like saying fuck it to Rusty now being, you know,
- 1:22:53like he's doing something harmless.
- 1:22:54He's just stopping by to get cigarettes.
- 1:22:57I don't get paid enough to deal with that shit.
- 1:22:59OK. Yeah, whatever.
- 1:23:00Yeah, just fuck it. I don't give a shit.
- 1:23:02Like, you know, this is just my job.
- 1:23:04If you're going to cause problems, that's one thing, but
- 1:23:06if you're just here to get cigarettes, get the fuck out of
- 1:23:08here afterwards, Yeah. So yeah, I yeah.
- 1:23:12I probably relate to Kayla because of the purple in her
- 1:23:14hair and the importance of Myspace to her at that time.
- 1:23:18OK, that's fair. Yeah, I jumped on Myspace.
- 1:23:20Wait, so I missed the boat on that?
- 1:23:24Yeah. Somewhat, but yeah, OK, I can
- 1:23:27see that. All right.
- 1:23:31Dream sequel. OK, this one's funny because we
- 1:23:37did a dream sequel for the first one where we continued it with
- 1:23:40that cast of characters. Now we gotta come up with a
- 1:23:42sequel for this one with this. Cast of characters, You gotta
- 1:23:45keep it with these guys. We can maybe have them merge
- 1:23:47with Paul Walker and Steve Zahn. OK if.
- 1:23:50We wanted to, OK, I think that would be a good way to like get
- 1:23:54it to three there. OK, so we have Bobby and
- 1:24:01Melissa. They end up getting married and
- 1:24:04they moved to Jersey and that's where they meet Paul Walker and
- 1:24:08Steve Zahn after they've done all of their stuff where they
- 1:24:12are having to fight off Rusty Nail in our imaginary sequel in
- 1:24:14the first one. OK.
- 1:24:15So I remember our sequel for the first one we had.
- 1:24:19Paul Walker is working a warehouse job.
- 1:24:22Steve Dunn is doing the family plumbing business.
- 1:24:24Yes, yeah. So they go over there, they have
- 1:24:27to call somebody. Sobieski.
- 1:24:28I think we had her. She's babysitting.
- 1:24:30Yeah, she's babysitting. Yeah, cuz we said like the
- 1:24:32walkie stuff continues with the babysitter monitor and then Paul
- 1:24:38Walker's radio at the warehouse and then yeah, so they call.
- 1:24:44OK, Melissa and Bobby, they have a baby.
- 1:24:46Lily Sobieski is the nanny. I thought you were saying she
- 1:24:50was the baby. Is there baby?
- 1:24:57OK, yeah, yeah, yeah, I like this.
- 1:24:59Wait, so is this the same movie? Or yes, yes.
- 1:25:04So that ends up being the third movie.
- 1:25:06Yes, Roadkill joyride. Yeah.
- 1:25:10Roadkill 3 Joyride. Yeah.
- 1:25:13Or Joyride 3 Roadkill. Yeah, whichever one.
- 1:25:15OK. Yeah.
- 1:25:18Well, OK. So is that really it?
- 1:25:20We're just going to like, do that.
- 1:25:21You know what? Yeah, I like it.
- 1:25:23I think it's fun. I think we've improved on the
- 1:25:25formula. OK, well then what?
- 1:25:27How are they going to be involved with the radio?
- 1:25:30OK, so Lily Sobieski's character is trying to like, do what she
- 1:25:34can to keep the baby safe, right?
- 1:25:36And she's freaking out. And her and Paul and Steve are
- 1:25:38all like, you know, they're like, we've been through this
- 1:25:41and they're trying to avoid the parents finding out about all of
- 1:25:44this. And then Melissa and Bobby are
- 1:25:46like, oh, what the fuck this again?
- 1:25:48And and they're like, wait, you know, oh, you.
- 1:25:50Know, yeah, like they're trying to hide it.
- 1:25:53And then they come in and they're like the they have the
- 1:25:56baby monitor and you hear Rusty come in over the baby monitor
- 1:26:01like, oh, to see you again, Goldilocks.
- 1:26:04Yeah. And then they're like, oh, shit.
- 1:26:06And then they can bring them in and they're like, oh shit, it's
- 1:26:09that fucking guy again. Like oh, you know this guy.
- 1:26:11And then that's where worlds collide and then boom, yeah, we
- 1:26:17get that. We did it.
- 1:26:19We did it. I like this.
- 1:26:22I feel like that legitimately would be a really good premise
- 1:26:25for a sequel to this movie. Really gonna be fun.
- 1:26:28OK. So now that we have that, I
- 1:26:31guess we move on to reviews. Are we gonna review?
- 1:26:36Are we gonna revisit this tagline discussion?
- 1:26:39Yeah, taglines. Fuck, I forgot about that.
- 1:26:41It's not about butt guts. I thought it was gonna be it's
- 1:26:46about bug guts. No, we're gonna make this one
- 1:26:49it's and then we like put the little it's not about bug guts.
- 1:26:52And then eventually whenever we do Final Destination, OK, I
- 1:26:57thought it'll be it is about bug guts.
- 1:27:01We gotta remember that when we get to Final Destination, OK?
- 1:27:05A joke, however long in the making.
- 1:27:08I hope it has the payoff. Yes, we gotta remember.
- 1:27:11I hope we remember. I'm gonna write it on the board
- 1:27:14over there so we never forget. I can't imagine somebody walking
- 1:27:19in here one day, oh, this is our podcast room.
- 1:27:22And then they walk over there and see it's about butt guts,
- 1:27:24something a lot of. Times I think of it in terms of
- 1:27:26like, what if a crime happened in our house?
- 1:27:28What are the crime scene people are gonna think of this?
- 1:27:30That's about butt guts. It is about butt guts and
- 1:27:33they're like, we need to figure out who left this.
- 1:27:36Well I hope it's not a butt related crime because then it
- 1:27:41would be really bad. I hope it's also not gut
- 1:27:43related. I can move without.
- 1:27:47OK, let's do reviews. All right, so I got, let's say
- 1:27:52one star review on IMDb. OK, it's titled pure trash.
- 1:27:58As a true horror film fan, I thought this sequel might be
- 1:28:00somewhat enjoyable. Wow, was I mistaken or rather
- 1:28:04taken for a ride? Suspense, Nope.
- 1:28:07Ingenuity, Nope. Enjoyability 0.
- 1:28:10After suffering through this film, and I used the word film
- 1:28:14lightly, I really wished I had done something else.
- 1:28:16Perhaps pouring salt in my eyes while listening to an old Barry
- 1:28:20Barry Manilow tape at maximum volume would have been better.
- 1:28:24This piece of garbage should be a resounding cry for
- 1:28:26institutionalization. The people involved with
- 1:28:28creating this mess as well as the misguided minds that enjoy
- 1:28:32it do not belong in the civilized society.
- 1:28:35Torture isn't a joke or to be taken lightly and watching this
- 1:28:38film is pure torture. Plot wise it is on the level of
- 1:28:42a demented teenagers sick rape filled wet dream acting as akin
- 1:28:46to a bad cat food commercial. Predictable and stupid.
- 1:28:49Violent for the sake of prurience.
- 1:28:54What is this word I'm? Going to be honest, I've never
- 1:28:57seen that word before. OK, big word, people.
- 1:29:00Stump and Jesse even. OK, and absolutely no redeeming
- 1:29:03quality whatsoever. I simply cannot say enough bad
- 1:29:06about this steaming pile. Two hours of my life wasted.
- 1:29:10I don't feel like it's two hours long.
- 1:29:12Hour and a half. They were just sitting there for
- 1:29:14the additional half hour in all. They pause.
- 1:29:18Yeah, I'm gonna say they pause for a 30 minute poop part way
- 1:29:21through. Yeah, probably.
- 1:29:27OK, well, you know, I don't feel like that's accurate.
- 1:29:31I don't think this movie is that bad.
- 1:29:34Holy shit this person really, really fucking hated this movie.
- 1:29:37Yeah, and honestly, considering the trend with splatter gore
- 1:29:41this time, I feel like this is mild.
- 1:29:43It's very mild in comparison, yeah.
- 1:29:45Like you can definitely see the influence of it, but this could
- 1:29:49be so much worse. It's really just that one scene.
- 1:29:51It's not like ripping off Jaws was not a thing before.
- 1:29:54That happened before. Same with ripping off fingers.
- 1:29:56That's still kind of been wine with Rusty's MO from the first
- 1:30:01movie. Yeah, it's really just the
- 1:30:02torture wall scene that it really becomes a torture movie.
- 1:30:06And it's only for like 5 minutes, 10 minutes.
- 1:30:09Maybe it's not that much of the movie, but you're entitled to
- 1:30:15your opinion there. OK, so I was really, really late
- 1:30:20with posting the call for reviews, so I currently have
- 1:30:23nothing. OK, so I'm gonna go ahead and
- 1:30:26read a positive review just to, you know.
- 1:30:29Just to get somebody else's positive opinion because we all
- 1:30:32know what our taste levels are here.
- 1:30:34Yeah, OK, I'm just gonna pick a random one here.
- 1:30:40So let's do this one here. This is the one that people seem
- 1:30:46to think is the most helpful. Helpful of the positive reviews.
- 1:30:51A surprisingly incredible follow up to a great first film.
- 1:30:54That's a 10 out of 10. This is days after the movie
- 1:30:58premiered, October 12th, 2008. Somebody was like man first
- 1:31:04Tokyo Gore police, now joyride. Two what?
- 1:31:07Spoiling us? Yeah, and Unrest 2 on top.
- 1:31:11Of us, yeah. Rest stop 2.
- 1:31:14Yeah, rest stop 2. That's it.
- 1:31:15I want. To call it unrest.
- 1:31:17OK. Because you were combining rest
- 1:31:19stop and untraceable. You're right, good call.
- 1:31:24OK so with the basically unknown casts, the fact that they
- 1:31:28changed dressy, and the whole straight to DVD thing.
- 1:31:31I went into this movie expecting to be repulsed.
- 1:31:33I was anything but repulsed. It starts out by creeping you
- 1:31:36out, then making you laugh so hard that you cry and then just
- 1:31:40fall out. Blows your mind with the
- 1:31:41elaborateness. The actors need high recognition
- 1:31:45because I will probably be slammed for this.
- 1:31:47I think they did a way better job than Paul Walker, Steve Zahn
- 1:31:50and Leelee Sabowski. It's a wee, wee Sabowski.
- 1:31:54Yeah, Lele Sabeski. OK, this movie had nothing going
- 1:31:57for it and it could quite possibly be the most amazing
- 1:32:00direct to DVD movie I've ever seen.
- 1:32:02So basically an awesome movie, 5 incredible actors, and some of
- 1:32:06the most elaborate, least sadistic scenes ever filmed.
- 1:32:08Give it a chance. Even if you're not a fan of the
- 1:32:10first one, this one is still great.
- 1:32:12It locks you in from the beginning and never let's go.
- 1:32:14I give it a perfect 10. OK, I disagree about them being
- 1:32:20better actors than the first trio, but I'd say that they
- 1:32:23like, they're good. They hold their own, yeah.
- 1:32:25Yeah, they are. It's a good cast and everybody
- 1:32:28is. It's a well acted movie, I will
- 1:32:30agree with that. But it's you can't beat the the
- 1:32:33rapport and the chemistry of Paul Walker and Steve Zahn.
- 1:32:37Also, you just can't beat Steve Zahn.
- 1:32:39No, Steve Zahn is like, he's kind of hit untouchable level
- 1:32:43for us here. Same with Paul Walker.
- 1:32:46Yeah but like honestly like their chemistry in the 1st movie
- 1:32:50with them just driving. They were so believable as
- 1:32:53brothers. That's one other element I feel
- 1:32:55like is missing from this one. Yeah, they really pushed the
- 1:32:58like, sis, sis, sis. Yeah, it didn't.
- 1:33:02Really. It didn't.
- 1:33:03Feel. Oh, are you these sisters?
- 1:33:05Yeah, like the things between Paul Walker and Steve sound in
- 1:33:08the first one, like it was believable.
- 1:33:09Steve was like, you know, like that big older brother that,
- 1:33:12like, punches him is like, you know, all about pranking.
- 1:33:15And I'm just. Going to say sisters aren't just
- 1:33:17like Levy Dovey on each other for sure.
- 1:33:20Yeah, my sister used to beat the shit out of me, so you know.
- 1:33:25Yeah, well, I'm just trying sister to sister dynamic.
- 1:33:28I know I I'm just saying to that sisters can be kind of, you
- 1:33:31know, brutal sometimes too. There, there would be teasing
- 1:33:35still, that would still be a thing that would would happen
- 1:33:38even if it's a bachelor party. Yeah, the chemistry, yeah,
- 1:33:41chemistry's probably the one thing that's lacking and it's
- 1:33:43going to be between them there that make it that believable.
- 1:33:46I agree with too much else that that person said.
- 1:33:48I like this movie a lot. Yeah.
- 1:33:49Yeah. I don't think it's like the most
- 1:33:51elaborate thing like they're saying, but it's a good time.
- 1:33:55OK, All right, so that's it for this week's movie joyride too.
- 1:34:02Next week we have Child's Play 2019.
- 1:34:06Yes, this. Is the remake we are talking
- 1:34:09about it it? Is part of our child's.
- 1:34:11Play coverage and guess that you can watch it for free on Tubi or
- 1:34:14Pluto. You could also rent it from
- 1:34:16Prime YouTube Fandango at home. So watch it, give it another
- 1:34:21chance, give it a shot, that's all I'm saying.
- 1:34:23Go into it open mind, open heart, and then listen to us
- 1:34:27discuss it next week. If for anything, just be there
- 1:34:30with us as we say goodbye to. Chucky yeah, this is it's the
- 1:34:33end of our franchise coverage. So for now.
- 1:34:36For now, we never know, there could be more Chucky movies,
- 1:34:38especially since. The show is not.
- 1:34:40Cancelled. Could go back to movies, which I
- 1:34:43think Don Manzini says he's got ideas, so.
- 1:34:46He's always got ideas, so that's true, yeah.
- 1:34:48But yeah, so just. Open mind.
- 1:34:50Open heart. Yeah, like you said, yeah.
- 1:34:52Give it a shot. Give it a shot.
- 1:34:54We'll. You know, after we do.
- 1:34:57This we'll do our our ranking and soon later this month we'll
- 1:35:01be announcing our next franchise.
- 1:35:03So we look after that, we actually have a fund
- 1:35:05announcement idea for it. So I wanna give a shout out to
- 1:35:10our patrons Who. Picked the movie.
- 1:35:12This week, yeah, we've got Joe Freakatron, as is his name.
- 1:35:16Amber, Michael. Laura.
- 1:35:17Zombie Tyler. Chad and Johnny yeah, thank you
- 1:35:21guys so much for being supporters of the show means a
- 1:35:23whole what it. Helps us do the things that we
- 1:35:25need to do to keep this thing running.
- 1:35:27So thank you all so very much. If you are unable to be a
- 1:35:31patron, we get it. You can help the show in many
- 1:35:34other ways, such as rating and reviewing on whatever platform
- 1:35:37you listen on. That helps get us out there.
- 1:35:40You can also share the reviews or share the episodes with
- 1:35:45people you know. Put it on social media.
- 1:35:48Tell a friend, tell your mom, tell your dad, tell your
