Transcript
- 0:19SPEAKER_04: Hey everybody, and welcome back to the Growth Class.
- 0:22SPEAKER_04: And today's guest has achieved something few entrepreneurs ever pull off: building a wildly successful legacy in one global industry and then completely reinventing herself to pioneer another.
- 0:34SPEAKER_04: Starting out as an internationally acclaimed fashion designer who moved from Paris to LA to build a global brand, she later channeled her passion for performance, wellness, and holistic health into the longevity space.
- 0:45SPEAKER_04: Today, she is an uh certified yoga therapist and the co-founder of Oxynergy2, a premier longevity and hyperbaric oxygen therapy center in Beverly Hills that helps people optimize cellular health, speed recovery, and take proactive control of their vitality.
- 1:04SPEAKER_04: Please welcome the co-founder of Oxynergy2, Michelle Bobat and her daughter.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Chloe Bobot.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Nice to meet you all.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: So exciting to be here, Phil, with you, and to to share some uh knowledge together.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you have a lot to say uh on your questions.
- 1:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's uh it's great.
- 1:28SPEAKER_04: Thanks for taking the time, both of you.
- 1:30SPEAKER_04: And but if you could just go back and sort of give us a little bit of history as to who you are.
- 1:36SPEAKER_04: And I know I touched on the fashion brand before we get into Oxynergy, just what you've done in the past, because I think people will be astounded at who you are and what you built uh uh in the past with your fashion line.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Okay, great.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna introduce myself without trying to define who I am.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, so uh I'm a fashion designer when I came in America uh 40 years ago.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: I uh I developed a brand uh with my husband called Bizou Biso, which means kiss kiss, small kiss kiss in French.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: And I was inspired by the California beautiful girls here.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: And I came, I think, with a new concept at the right timing.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: So it was not really easy for me because of the language barrier and the culture and the whole thing.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: But I think because uh it was a vision, I had a vision and it was fully new.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: I came up with a new concept how to dress and frame the woman body.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: And I think this has been a hit right away, and we succeed.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: So being in the fashion industry for many, many years uh through my career, uh in between, you know, I'm a painter and um uh I do a lot of home also and interior designer.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: So all this encompassed a world of creativity, and that was fulfilling me tremendously.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: And then um in between also, I became a younger teacher and uh specially in therapy, and I've been doing yoga since 32 years, yoga, pranayama, breathing, you know, all this meditation.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: So this helped me through my career a lot.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: I don't think so.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Um, if I didn't discover yoga, I would have been uh the woman that I am today and doing a successful business.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: Yes, because uh I had to find a balance between the business and my family life.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: I have myself seven children, and uh it's not easy to raise children, make some new children, make some pregnancy, and and run a big fashion uh brand, uh Bizubizoo, that was uh really internationally uh recognized brand with many stores and many stress and a lot of employees to take care of and to work with.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: So it was not easy.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: So to find this balance, so you had to be really zen and use your yoga in many ways with all the capacities.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: So I think this helped me tremendously.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: So and uh then during COVID, during COVID, um I had a lot of personal friends in France and here that unfortunately passed away and I was really upset, and uh everything they were talking is about the breasts and and the lungs, and I study I started uh studying with yoga, how to breathe through the back and through the front, and then I say, okay, this is because I'm a yogist, I can do that, but how I can bring it to everyone, and then I had the idea to go more into the what is out there, what is out there that can help.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: And then I discovered the hyperbaric chamber, I discovered what those machines do.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: And um I traveled, I went even to Europe to a clinic and to a manufacturer of hyperbaric, and they explained me the whole process and how it works.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: And they had some very successful story about uh people that had COVID and they were dying, and just after five or six sessions, they were feeling better.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: So it was unbelievable for me.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: I could not believe.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: And then uh I was very interested and I did it more into it, and then after um I decided to this was the place where we are, uh was uh big.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: I had a huge uh yoga center, Namazi Yoga.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: It was my passion.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: I did this on the side with people running it, of course.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: And I was teaching there, and uh during COVID, uh no more, no, it was closed.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: So I had the space.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: So I decided to change the space, to retransform it, to change it, and to become a place of hyperbaric.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: So and I w and after I learned that hyperbaric is good for longevity, it addresses different issues and it's really it helps um people feeling better.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: And uh then I talked to my daughter.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: My daughter was in New York, Chloe, and I told her, Chloe, you want to start with me, this new company?
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: I have the place, and we can redecorate it, have uh ideas, I can show you everything.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: And then she came and right away she was excited, right?
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: It was COVID, nobody had nothing.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: So we work from my guest house, her and me, we sit in front of the computer, we designed the logo, we designed the color, the concept, and as we we went, we got educated together, we get certifications.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: So before even opening here, we got tons of certification, we we knew everything, and as you go, you know, the vision took place.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: And then I grew, we started with two uh big chambers, Wikisit chambers, uh hyperbaric, and uh with oxygen, and uh we added after the red light therapy, and after we added more uh things, and after we got more machines, and today we have like five machines, huge machines, very comfortable.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: And um, they are very good because for claustrophobia, a lot of people don't like to be in those tubes, so this is kind of a big room, it's a shell, hard shell, and uh you go under pressure, the machine puts you under pressure, so it reduces all the gas in your body, and after you breathe oxygen, and we have different protocols, and then uh it changes uh at your cellular level your your your health, basically.
- 8:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean uh you know it's really amazing that you were you've done so much in terms of creativity to go from being an artist to being a fashion designer to being uh interior designer, and then w what specifically I'm familiar with yoga, I'm familiar with uh uh vinyasa yoga and things like that, but I don't know what iyengar yoga is.
- 8:35SPEAKER_04: I've never heard of it before.
- 8:36SPEAKER_04: What is it?
- 8:38SPEAKER_04: What's the difference?
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: Okay, Iungar is really about alignment and understanding the anatomy of the body and respecting the alignment so to avoid injury and to develop strength.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: And it's also about the timing, how long you can stay in the pose and how long you can stay in the pose and make it comfortable enough, okay, for you to be in a state even of meditation into the pose.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: So, and it's about the sequence, how you put the poses to have certain benefits.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: So, how you're gonna bring uh a body, we all have kind of different bodies and different issues.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: So, how you can uh uh uh use, we have a lot of props also, like blocks, blankets, uh a lot of wood pieces, ropes.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: So, how are you gonna use those ropes to your body to help you achieve the pose, to achieve uh the benefit, and how you're gonna grow the pose and which pose you're gonna do after for you to achieve the real pose eventually that is as will have been very challenging for you.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: You cannot do it, but as we're gonna do it for you, we're gonna design a special sequence for you to get to this pose.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: Also, um, I want to add to that growing up, she was always traveling every summer to India for I think 10 years, over 10 years every summer to get recertified and take courses from like grandmaster yogis.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: So she was and every summer she goes on yoga retreats to further her education in all parts of the world.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's uh endless.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: It's endless.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: She's constantly studying, taking tests.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: And sometimes, you know, we're not a yoga center, but we have customers who come in with, you know, uh back issues, neck pain, shoulder pain, and she'll meet with them and she'll teach them yoga poses, even though that's not what we offer here to do at home and you know, help them recover.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: Uh, help them.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: I spend a lot of time with customers.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: So it's really um, it's really helped me because it's one-to-one.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: People uh have different um issues and health concerns, and they like to hear from uh a therapist, a yoga therapist, what they can do and what will help.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: And sometimes it's just basic uh question basing help.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Some people I spend more time, some people less.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: I give them, I'd make pictures, I give them a routine.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: So it's dependent.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: I have uh a few customers that need help, and I'm always very happy to help them because it's important.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: And for example, now I'm gonna go to South Africa in November.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: There's a big big yoga teacher gonna give a big conference.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: So I'm ready to travel all over just to get more education and to have this feeling of uh well-being and uh and this become who I am.
- 11:30SPEAKER_04: It's just it's just no slowing down with you.
- 11:33SPEAKER_04: It's just amazing to me that you just once you're just doing one thing after another.
- 11:37SPEAKER_04: I think when we spoke last week, you were going to Miami to design someone's house and you're going somewhere else to design.
- 11:45SPEAKER_04: Chloe, do you do uh do you do this yoga as well, this version of yoga?
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: So I don't do that type of yoga.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: No, I'll do like regular yoga at gym classes, um, but I'm not into yoga as much as my mom is, even though I wish I was, and maybe I will be one day, but right now um I just do regular yoga.
- 12:06SPEAKER_04: I um I used to do uh triathlons for a bunch of years, and uh I used to do yoga during that time because it was uh I it was meditative as well as you're you know, you're you're sort of stretching your body out, and I liked it, but I stopped doing it at right around COVID or I stopped going to to uh you know to gyms and yoga centers and places, so and I haven't gotten back into it, but I used to love it.
- 12:34SPEAKER_04: Uh I think it's uh it's really neat.
- 12:36SPEAKER_04: But the thing that I just it's amazing to me that you know you've you've gone down all these paths and you just don't seem to want to slow down.
- 12:46SPEAKER_04: And usually people get to a certain level of success where I mean you built a fashion brand that I think everybody knows or everybody's heard of at some point, and then you just it's not enough.
- 12:59SPEAKER_04: You just keep going.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: You know, life you have to transform yourself.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: Well, the beauty is I agree with that.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: Especially when you are creative, you know, you have to say, what next?
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: What next?
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: You know, life doesn't stop, okay?
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: Uh uh time is endless, and you have to feel it and use it and use this energy.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: And this uh it's a cycle that you have to live in and uh enjoy every minute.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: If you do what you love, what you like, it's fantastic.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: So uh this is my philosophy.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: I have to do something that I love, that I like, that I like, and something that also can help.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: So I think this is And she's obsessed with all things health, wellness, longevity, where every single day she's doing things for her health and for her longevity, which gives her the energy and the sharpness to do what she wants to do.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: And I'm with the guinea pig.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: She's also her own guinea pig, yes.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: I'm not scared to try anything.
- 14:01SPEAKER_04: Now, now, Chloe, has that has any of that rubbed off on you?
- 14:04SPEAKER_04: Are you uh are you also a uh, you know, in perpetual motion, so to speak?
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: No, definitely.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: So if she does something and she's really tried it and it works for her, I'll copy her and I'll do the same thing.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: And also like my customers here, I'll see them doing they'll talk to me about what they're doing outside of this center, and then I'll I'll follow what they're doing as well.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: And then I see if it works on me too.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: So I definitely look around and see what other people are doing, as well as my mom, and then I'll I'll uh copy it if it's something that I think would work for me.
- 14:40SPEAKER_03: You know, having uh I have a friend who actually builds.
- 14:47SPEAKER_04: No, go ahead.
- 14:48SPEAKER_04: What were you saying?
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: No, I was saying that.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Having several children, you know, brought me also enough experience how to to help and to heal and to bring comfort, especially mental comfort to to people.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: I'm a mother.
- 15:12SPEAKER_03: Even the center, I'm the mother of the center for everyone.
- 15:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I don't have seven, I have five children.
- 15:25SPEAKER_04: Okay, good, right.
- 15:26SPEAKER_04: And that was difficult.
- 15:30SPEAKER_04: That was difficult enough to uh to manage, but uh thankfully we've got them all into adulthood or early adulthood, and uh you know if we can get them off the payroll, that would be a fun thing.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: It's never happened.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Look after you're gonna bring them.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I come late and she tells me, why are you playing?
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Why are you late?
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: You know that.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: When we first started, she was asking me why I'm late.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: And now I'm like, where were you?
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: We had a meeting at two.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: I had to do it alone.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: She's like, oh, I was doing this and this.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, okay.
- 16:16SPEAKER_04: That's fun.
- 16:18SPEAKER_04: I have a friend who builds the uh red light therapy beds in Las Vegas.
- 16:22SPEAKER_04: He has a company out in uh Las Vegas, he builds the red light therapy beds and uh um it's a it's amazing technology.
- 16:32SPEAKER_04: All that is amazing technology, and I think you see people like the um hyperbaric chambers and oxygen therapy becoming much more uh mainstream because you start to see the athletes doing it and you know it's becoming more available, but it definitely has has benefits, no question about it, right?
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: For sure.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: People come for everything and anything for a red light.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: We have a uh very nice um uh medical red light therapy bed, and it has also oxygen in it, so you can breathe even oxygen and you have some air while you are doing.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: And uh and we have a protocol uh that uh if you go it depends on the pressure, if you do the the red light therapy before the hyperbaric or after the hyperbaric, and people uh love it.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: They feel so good after that, and they feel rejuvenate and uh and uh the pain, sometimes inflammation is gone in one session.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: So it really works.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: It's very it's very good.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: We're having a very good uh feedback on the red light therapy mixed with the hyperbaric.
- 17:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:48SPEAKER_04: Um is this is this just something that you're gonna do in one location or are you planning on doing this in multiple locations?
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Listen, uh at the beginning, so the the center is doing very well.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Uh one of the reasons is because uh we are here every day and we talk to every customer, so is every protocol is customized to everyone.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: And uh we are not a center that you come and you buy uh three a package of three hyperbaric or five hyperbaric.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: We like to understand why we ask a lot of questions, okay.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: Besides all uh the form is not uh it's not something that you go and you buy.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: You need to understand why you're doing it and how you're gonna do it, and what we our advice is on it.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: So it's a whole uh overview because we're having different protocols for different uh uh issues or different uh um goals.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: Each one has a different goal.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: You know, you have biohikers who come just to enhance their health, you have uh athletes that have inflammation or want to recover, you have people who have a test, they want to be more focused, uh, you have people who have pain uh uh or something the skin, surgery, post surgery, uh they have bruises and so all the wound, because uh the main goal, the main um benefit of the hyperbaric is uh how you uh the hyperbaric heal the wound.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: So the wound that you see which are outside and the wound that you have inside.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: So this is the main goal of the post, we have a lot, a lot of post-surgery clients.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: So it could be like a hernia repair or it could be a facelift, and they all come in to do hyperbaric every day after surgery for at least a week or two.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Um, and it we've seen everyone healed beautifully.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: The inflammation, everything reduced tremendously.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: Sometime after two, three, sometime after ten.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: It's dependent, it's dependent on everyone.
- 19:56SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 19:57SPEAKER_04: I didn't realize that you could do it after surgery and that would help with the recovery.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: And we even uh listen to our customer.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: We have also uh a great Brazilian, beautiful Masouz who does um post surgery, post surgery, lymphatic drainage.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: So you can drain the face, you can drain just the cheeks.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you have one cheek uh swallowed more than the other one, you can have the body, you can have everything, so she's amazing.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: And so it's one stop for uh recovery here.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: At the beginning, I wanted really to do a longevity, real longevity, because we're having also a lot of tests, blood tests.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: We measure the telomere before uh hyperbaric, after hyperbaric, we have also micronutrients, we have plastic, mold, uh, toxification, any uh a lot of tests.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: And so this was all about uh longevity, but now it's becoming even more as a recovery center.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: We're having a lot of PMF uh tools, we're having a biocharger that is uh it's fantastic to help you be grounded.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: We have a Morpheus bed, we have a red light therapy just for the hair, to grow the hair.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: A lot of women, I don't know, since COVID, I don't know if you heard that, but they're losing, like everybody complained about their hair becoming thinner or losing their hair.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: So we have a program for that also.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: Uh so we have different protocols with different machines.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: We have, and we mix them and we put a packet that we present to customers.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: And when they come here, they like it, they feel relaxed and they feel safe.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: And you know, we have IBs also uh therapy and NID therapy.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: We do infusion with vitamin, we do shots, we have a nurse on the spot, so it's a complete uh rejuvenation.
- 21:56SPEAKER_04: Wow, that's uh that's pretty.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Interesting to go from everything you've done to this point of of really rejuvenation therapy or or or uh um health.
- 22:09SPEAKER_04: I mean I understand you've done all these things to to and lived a healthy life and and done yoga, but this is really taking it to uh I think an extreme.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's not an extreme.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: It is for the people.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: For example, me, I don't have really uh issue, health issue, okay?
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: But I do the whole protocol, the whole nine yard, and I take care of myself.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: Because I want to keep my cognitive function, my physical body function as good as when I was 20, even better than 20.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: To be honest, I'm feeling much better in my body, in my mind, than when I was 20 or 30 today.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: And I think it's very important.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: Those are my goals.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Other people are gonna say, no, I like being uh getting old like that, and I'm good, I'm happy, I like to relax.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: For me, relaxing is taking care of myself, having some message, uh doing an IV, and uh taking some supplement every morning and trying to do the best things that I can to preserve uh my mental health and my physical health as well.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, and of course you need to have the right diet.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: I didn't talk about the diet, I didn't talk about the exercise, but this I think for me is a given.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: Everybody who comes in the center, like our center, already knows what where they should be.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: And they are trying.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: So they cut some people sometimes come and they even ask with some recipe.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: So uh you never know.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: But it's a whole uh spectrum of uh different things that and also we have always to uh to get a get ahead of the game because there is so many new things, there is so many offerings, there is so many things you need to make sure to see.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, you want to bring this, is there is enough data on it?
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: Is that something good?
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: You know, it's it's a science.
- 24:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:09SPEAKER_04: Um, I guess you have to keep doing stuff something in order to keep up with the schedule that you keep flying to India, flying to South Africa, flying to Miami, flying here, flying there, and doing everything that you're doing.
- 24:21SPEAKER_04: Uh, I would think that you would have to do something uh to to to keep that going.
- 24:27SPEAKER_04: Um is the fashion line gone?
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: Is is completely gone?
- 24:31SPEAKER_04: Did you sell the brand or did you just uh no?
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: I have the brand.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: The brand, sorry.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: I have the brand, we own it.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: I didn't sell it because I think it has a value, and perhaps one day one of my grandchildren will want to revive it.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: Or if I have a big proposition, I don't know, somebody wants to buy it.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: It's it's a it's a fantastic brand.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: So so far I I didn't really thought about selling the brand, but uh I'm always open, you know, it depends.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: Everything has a value, right?
- 25:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
