- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another episode? Luna: Ready! You know, I've been thinking about our last beach episode. Lucas: Oh yeah, we talked about sand and waves. Today, let's focus on something else you'd find at the beach. Luna: Ooh, what is it? Lucas: Shells! Remember we learned '貝殼' for shell in episode 161? Luna: Oh right, 貝殼. That's shell. Lucas: Exactly. Today we'll learn how to say 'I found a shell'. Luna: Oh, I'd love to say that on the beach. Lucas: So, in Cantonese, 'I found a shell' is 我執到一個貝殼. Lucas: Great! 執到 means 'found' or 'picked up'. What if the shell is pretty? Lucas: Then you can say 'The shell is beautiful.' 好靚 means 'very pretty'. I like that. Lucas: And if you want to show someone a shell, you say 'Look at this shell.' So 你睇 is 'you look'? Lucas: Exactly. And you can describe it too. Like 好細 for 'very small' or 好大 for 'very big'. So I could say Lucas: Perfect! Luna: Let me practice all of them. Lucas: You're doing amazing! Now imagine we're at the beach. Luna: Okay, I'm walking along the sand. Lucas: You spot a shell. What do you say? Lucas: And you show it to me. Lucas: I look and say Then I ask 佢大唔大? Luna: Oh, it's small. Lucas: Nice little shell. That felt natural. Luna: Yeah, I can totally use this on a real beach trip. Lucas: And you know, if Fexingo has been helping you make progress with Cantonese, it might be worth a coffee. Luna: Totally. Even a small gesture keeps us going. Lucas: If today was worth a coffee to you, that's the link: buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: And we really appreciate it. Lucas: Alright, let's go back to the beach. So you found a small shell. What if you find a huge one? Lucas: There you go! You're ready for the beach. Luna: I feel so prepared. Let's practice the whole set one more time. Lucas: Sure. I'll say the English, you say the Cantonese. Luna: Okay. Lucas: I found a shell. Lucas: The shell is beautiful. Lucas: Look at this shell. Lucas: Very small. Luna: 好細. Lucas: Very big. Luna: 好大. Lucas: Perfect! You've got it.
