- 0:02My wallet is sobbing. I can hear it.
- 0:04I can hear it in the hall now. It is breaking down crying.
- 0:08It turns out that Attila the arrogant so and so he's got a
- 0:11fake hammer. Oh.
- 0:13A fake. Yeah.
- 0:14Whoa. As I say, Dick, this is going to
- 0:18go well. Isn't it?
- 0:20Good morning, everybody. Now we've made it.
- 0:23It's breakfast television. Did you ever think your career
- 0:26would go this far? I didn't.
- 0:29No, we're missing we're missing a presenter.
- 0:35So that's already a great start to our breakfast television
- 0:37career and he sure does. He'd be on on time, but as usual
- 0:42not and we just need someone to do the weather and the traffic.
- 0:47So maybe that can be you mouth. I don't know if you're.
- 0:53It's a bit overcast. I don't know if you're the
- 0:59weather girl type, are you? I don't think so.
- 1:01I don't know. It turns out the weather girl
- 1:03looks like yeah. But we could.
- 1:05We have some segments on cooking.
- 1:10You mean interest celebrities maybe?
- 1:13Yeah, we have some celebrities. We have some mythic legions,
- 1:16community celebrities. We have some celebrities in the
- 1:20chat even, and let's have a look at who we have.
- 1:23So we have a bunch of people to bring on, as you probably saw in
- 1:26the teaser. And so first we had, I am TJ
- 1:32Williams. He was first to comment.
- 1:34Actually, Kirby was the first to comment yesterday.
- 1:37Hang on, he made it. We have a special guest.
- 1:41Hello. Right on time.
- 1:45Ah, excuse my piss poor Internet connection.
- 1:49I'm connected now so I'm good to go.
- 1:51Very good. So we have to solve the the
- 1:52technical problems on the fly. Yeah.
- 1:55I mean, you know, this is how the Eurolegions does it, isn't
- 1:58it? We don't mess around by.
- 1:59This is how you do it. OK, let me clarify.
- 2:02This is how I do it. Yes.
- 2:03Yes, How do I turn my laptop on more than 5 minutes in advance
- 2:06then? That you're doing fine.
- 2:07Yeah, yeah, I've just been up two hours ago, you know, getting
- 2:10ready. I've been up for an hour, I've
- 2:12been like doing my bio and creating my character and
- 2:15everything so I've been. Up 5 minutes.
- 2:20And hanging. Still e-mail.
- 2:24Well, we got to appreciate a lot of these people in the comments
- 2:26because they are in America. And that is 3 in the morning.
- 2:31Eastern Time. Stupid o'clock.
- 2:33Yeah. And as you go West, it's even
- 2:37earlier. And then I suppose if you go
- 2:39right to the West Coast, it's actually just 11:00 PM or
- 2:41something, so that's not too bad.
- 2:45I'm not sure my voice should be described as peaceful just at
- 2:47the moment. Yeah, I'm kind of, I'm kind of
- 2:51glad that that Mal is not reading too much on the BIOS
- 2:57tonight because this could be rough for this.
- 2:59Yeah, right. Any any other crack for us,
- 3:03Rich? No, he's suitably stressed.
- 3:07Well, I'm I'm here now, so that's that's a positive.
- 3:12Curtis is in his seventh, seven hours into his eighth hour
- 3:16basically now. If we can I just say Curtis as
- 3:19well, the picture of you having a nap, well, that was lovely.
- 3:22I'm slightly disappointed you weren't wearing my Dubai.
- 3:26I just want to say I I did, I did take personal.
- 3:30He has to he has to represent a verb brand, you know, so if
- 3:36you're so we have 5050 live viewers, so wow, great.
- 3:40My everybody's a marathon because we, we, we don't get
- 3:43that many if we normally go live, you might get around the
- 3:4530 is kind of a peak live streaming.
- 3:48So uh, this is great if you're not subscribed to the channel,
- 3:51have a little subscribe. If we, if we ever get to 500,
- 3:55that is either today, which is probably unlikely or in the
- 3:59future, we will give away a heroic paladin.
- 4:01So, you know, if we get the 500 this morning and then, you know,
- 4:07you could be in a chance that we could do an on the fly giveaway
- 4:10for the heroic paladin. So that sounds good.
- 4:12Shall we bring some people in? Yeah, we'll start.
- 4:17We'll start with more breakfast people because it's breakfast
- 4:21time back home. There we go.
- 4:24Queen Megs, how are we doing? I'm good, thank you.
- 4:27Literally just an approach to eat saying, oh, finishing my
- 4:30cereal. So that was very.
- 4:32OK, you're finished now. I don't have to remove you from
- 4:34the stage, no? No, you've got.
- 4:36You've got. How are you too?
- 4:40How's Mags? I love your cup.
- 4:42Thank you. It's like it's like Easter mug.
- 4:45So that says pass kappus, which is the Kumrag and a happy Easter
- 4:49on the other side because I am a bilingual person so I made that
- 4:54last Easter. So yeah, it'll.
- 4:57Be weird if he didn't make any so.
- 4:58There's a there's at least there's some painting talent in
- 5:02the family. Yeah, one of us.
- 5:05You get up this early on a Saturday for friendly fire.
- 5:11Welcome to my world, Qui. Welcome to my world.
- 5:16We've got Big Greg there. So you've been, you've been
- 5:18doing dwarfs painting for the last wild Qui.
- 5:22Yes, Big Greg is the opposite of the dwarf.
- 5:27Yeah, I need. I've done a few Greg Scale
- 5:30figures but not that many. And how many?
- 5:34How many of the dwarf 2 packs do you have?
- 5:37Oh. In the house 5 currently. 5
- 5:43packs. Yeah, I think so.
- 5:45I think 5. I know at least three, and I've
- 5:48got another two on the way I think at least.
- 5:54Excellent. Oh.
- 5:55Yeah, yeah. So maybe still not enough for
- 5:58them. No, probably not.
- 6:02But you're ready for hearing a little bit of character creation
- 6:07with us. Yes, really looking forward to
- 6:10it. So, yeah, yeah.
- 6:12Very good and we should have Mark Calvo, but I think Spain
- 6:16time is rather different to our time.
- 6:21I'll I'll message him now. But in the meantime, we do have
- 6:27some other people. So let's bring on Joe.
- 6:31Hey, how's everybody doing? Joe the West Coast of almost the
- 6:37West Coast of USA. Yeah, Nevada, it's close enough,
- 6:41Yeah. Very good, that must That
- 6:44moustache has cheered me up already.
- 6:46Joe, I just want to you know again.
- 6:49It cheers me up too actually, if I'm honest.
- 6:52That's that's why I like looking at myself on there.
- 6:55Like people will be talking and I get distracted.
- 6:57I'm like, that's a nice moustache with.
- 7:01Poirot and he was famous for his moustaches.
- 7:04Right. Right.
- 7:05Yeah. I'm getting there.
- 7:07I'm working. On it awesome.
- 7:09So you're you're taking a break from the minds of Nevada to.
- 7:13Well, I work today, so yeah, 4:30 this morning, my time, I
- 7:19got up and went to work and I, I tried not to work too hard today
- 7:23so I could stay fresh, you know, to make it through this.
- 7:26But I've been up about 20 hours, but I'm doing OK.
- 7:30This is this is fun stuff to talk about.
- 7:33So, you know, it's not, it's not something that drags me down
- 7:36are. You a coffee drinker?
- 7:38Are you on the energy drinks or what?
- 7:41Well I I'm a coffee drinker. I do have an energy drink
- 7:44though. One time my my girlfriend gave
- 7:47me one of these just to try and I couldn't sleep that night so I
- 7:51was like. Perfect, that'll do the trick.
- 7:53That's really handy for this, that that was bad that night.
- 7:57It'll be good this night so but I I'm not tired enough to crack
- 8:00it open yet, but probably soon. So Pickle D wants the stocking
- 8:04Where where in Nevada, Joe? Oh boy.
- 8:06Lovelock, Nevada. So most people know where Reno
- 8:11is. I'm I'm 100 miles east of Reno,
- 8:14NV, so it's this little like western bumpkin town.
- 8:21Thank goodness for the Internet because otherwise I'd have
- 8:24nobody to talk to about mythic legions with because nobody here
- 8:29is into that stuff. So.
- 8:31Right. We better bring him on because
- 8:32otherwise his numbers will be down.
- 8:34It's Curtis. How are you?
- 8:36I'm great. People are sick of you.
- 8:40So, you know, I'm not going to give you too much of an
- 8:43introduction, you know. That's totally fine.
- 8:47I'm not sick of you though, you know, because I'm.
- 8:48Just here to make sure the trains run on time.
- 8:50That's it, Yeah. Tell Mark Calvo.
- 8:55I would say. I was doing a little bit of last
- 8:58minute prep, so I didn't catch much of the the streams this
- 9:01morning, but I had a quick uh, uh, I Scott cut the very end of
- 9:06the allegiance layer. I'm.
- 9:09Sorry I was there, now I was killing me right before the
- 9:12show. He's shaking up his drink now.
- 9:14He's looking the inside with his finger.
- 9:19This. I can't imagine how much editing
- 9:22you do on a normal episode. Fucking Rich gets on and he's
- 9:28doing like this with his mic and brother.
- 9:34Yeah, poor John. But I always do it with a smile,
- 9:39you know? That's true.
- 9:41That's. True, I remember this is this is
- 9:43peak hungover Mal as well. So this is like, you know, we're
- 9:46lucky he's here, but it's. Just.
- 9:52You but now you got to you got to talk to the boss.
- 9:56Now you know. Here he is, I.
- 10:03I don't know whether I should say good morning to everyone or
- 10:07or what. It's mostly good morning.
- 10:10Yeah, it's good. Morning.
- 10:11Yeah, this is weird. It's the only time I'm ever up
- 10:15at this time bid 3:00 over here is usually because I have a very
- 10:20early flight to fly somewhere to go do to go do a show.
- 10:25So it feels appropriate that while I'm not flying, thankfully
- 10:29today I get to talk toys with everybody.
- 10:33Awesome, awesome. So how's the whole experience
- 10:36been with for you for the last month?
- 10:38I guess express fun. Yeah, it's running a Kickstarter
- 10:43is a very weird experience because it's, you know, equal
- 10:47parts anxiety and excitement. You have points where you're
- 10:53just sitting there waiting for something to happen so you can
- 10:56take action and respond to it. And then you have other points
- 11:00like day one where you can't keep up, where it's just
- 11:03non-stop things that are dropping and happening that
- 11:06you've got to do and respond to. So it's, it's very, very
- 11:11interesting. I actually at Toy Lanta this
- 11:13weekend spend some time with the team behind the Cryptoids
- 11:18Kickstarter. And, you know, this is their
- 11:21first Kickstarter that they're doing.
- 11:24And it was, it was a lot of fun. They're great guys.
- 11:27Anyway, it's a great group over there.
- 11:29And it was a lot of fun just to kind of like talk to them and
- 11:33then be able to bounce kind of some of their experience off of
- 11:37us, you know, as us having done this before, I guess kind of
- 11:41being the the world wary veterans who have done this a
- 11:45few times. But yeah, it is it for no one,
- 11:48for people that haven't done it before.
- 11:50It's an incredibly unique experience.
- 11:51It's very, very different than running a regular pre-order.
- 11:56The fact that. Everything is so.
- 11:58Public. And stuff it's it's, it's cool,
- 12:00but it's been great. I've I've had an absolute blast.
- 12:02I'm happy that and it's wrapping up because I'm excited to be
- 12:06able to move into some other stuff, but this is this past
- 12:10month will be an experience we won't forget.
- 12:13So do you have lots of like draughts on your phone or your
- 12:16computer ready to you know when when you pass the next,
- 12:18especially at the earlier stages?
- 12:21Well luckily one of the tools in Kickstarter is you can pre
- 12:25write. Updates.
- 12:27So there were points where when I knew we had a lot of stuff
- 12:31dropping and I was travelling a lot, I knew I would be hard
- 12:35pressed to to get that stuff done while I was on the road.
- 12:40So I had a lot of that stuff just keyed up in Kickstarter.
- 12:43So I just had to log into Kickstarter and hit like publish
- 12:46update. So that made it a lot easier to
- 12:50do some of this stuff when I wasn't fully available here.
- 12:53Got you. Got you.
- 12:56That's, that's cool. We do have another guest in the
- 12:59studio, another Jones. Perculus Jones.
- 13:07I'm just here to make sure Necronominus is properly
- 13:10represented in the character creation process.
- 13:14So quality control. I'm here for quality.
- 13:20There's lots of there's lots of bones in this.
- 13:23Kickstarter I I was. Accused at certain points of the
- 13:27Kickstarter of just pandering to Brett, so I feel like
- 13:32Necronominus. I've seen Brett's pledge pledges
- 13:37among Jeremy. It definitely worked.
- 13:39I'm. Not saying I didn't do it, but.
- 13:45If I if I was running the company, I would also be
- 13:47pandering to people like Brett and even Rich, you know, people
- 13:52who are very easily parted with their money.
- 13:57We'll say all the. Time, you know, you can't make
- 13:59everybody happy, which I tend to hate that phrase because I think
- 14:04too many times people use it as an excuse not to go the extra
- 14:08mile. But the flip side of that is
- 14:10there some people you very absolutely can please and it's
- 14:13very easy to please them. With Brett, it's just make it a
- 14:17skeleton and he'll buy 40 of them.
- 14:19So OK, here we go. If I know that I can do that and
- 14:23get get those sales locked right in and the figure is going to be
- 14:26very cool, that's a win, win, win.
- 14:30Very good. We have a technical question
- 14:32here. Jeremy.
- 14:32I don't know if this is something in your round.
- 14:37Possibly port town. Yeah, the Dawn of Discovery
- 14:42revealed yesterday it names Eagles Port and Port Town, and
- 14:46they got switched in the RPG map.
- 14:48Could that be? Possibly.
- 14:50I'd have to look, I mean. Off top of my.
- 14:51Head, I don't I don't know. So I'd have to take a look and I
- 14:54I don't think I don't think that we've Oh yeah, no, we did there.
- 15:00We talked about where those two were.
- 15:02Yeah, I know I'd have to take a look.
- 15:03So is the map that they're referring to the one that we
- 15:06just the one that comes with the core rule book?
- 15:10I mean, that was made by a different artist, so it very
- 15:12likely could have been a mistake that they just switched the two
- 15:16locations. I'll have to check that out.
- 15:19OK, uh, hopefully all OK there. John, can I just pick?
- 15:26Guest here. We have an enabler.
- 15:29We're all we're all dunes now. Hey, hey, wine.
- 15:32Hey, Wine. Hi, guys.
- 15:33How's it going? Good stuff.
- 15:35Jeremy looks like a Sith Lord over there.
- 15:39That's what I was about to say before John brought you on.
- 15:41Damn it, Wyatt. Taking all the best lines I'm
- 15:46going to go, but it's extra happening you.
- 15:51Is it over? Yeah, it is.
- 15:52It's it just became Saturday. OK.
- 15:55Like 15 minutes ago. But you're a bit of a night owl.
- 15:58I am a bit of a night owl so it's it's not too hard of an
- 16:01adjustment. Yeah, if this was if you were on
- 16:04European time now, you'd still be in bed.
- 16:06For sure. Yeah, I would.
- 16:07Yeah, most assuredly. Thank you for having me.
- 16:10Thanks for fitting me into your. Programme, Well, as you see
- 16:13there's there's a lot of squares filled here, so.
- 16:16Just about all of them. We did well, we did well and
- 16:20we're missing somebody. So that's even that's even
- 16:22funnier, but that's. Ultimately.
- 16:26Oh. He's in the gym.
- 16:27He thought that we were just reading the BIOS so.
- 16:33So he might be on this, Yeah. Look, Keith.
- 16:36And he's a damn good painter, so I'll let him off.
- 16:39True, True. True.
- 16:40Well, Jeremy's strategically trying to hit up every show and
- 16:46then fit in sleep. So he just caught the last end
- 16:51of ours and wanted to catch the beginning of your guys's.
- 16:55So I, I don't know that he'll be here long, but we, we appreciate
- 16:59you making it, Jeremy, for sure. Well.
- 17:02Curtis That was a wonderful way for me to be able to step away
- 17:05and go back to bed. In a few hours.
- 17:11That wasn't rehearsed at all, but it sounds like Curtis is
- 17:14like it sounds like he's lobbying for my assistant's
- 17:17position. So with that, I will say thank
- 17:20you everyone. Thank you, Curtis.
- 17:22Thank you, Jeremy. Go back for the rest of the of
- 17:27the ticks time. Hopefully there'll be more
- 17:29updates. They're well, they will enjoy
- 17:31the rest of the live stream. I'll see you in a few hours.
- 17:34See you man. Poor guy even sounds tired.
- 17:42Like he's not just tired, he sounds tired.
- 17:46You guys are doing really well, given that it's like what?
- 17:50Yeah, you guys look like you just woke up.
- 17:53I'm doing pretty good. They have the they have the
- 17:56touch up feature on the on the on the stream yard.
- 18:00Yeah, it's the 24 hour stream. They just move that feature
- 18:03further further along. Can can I just say as well it's?
- 18:08Not going to philtre, sorry. It's not just the Americans
- 18:12doing well. I'm not normally up until 11 AM
- 18:14on a Saturday here so I'm up like 4 hours earlier than normal
- 18:17so I'm doing well. Thank you.
- 18:19Good job, Yeah. I'd I'd be embarrassed to admit
- 18:24that. Yeah, you're only you're only a
- 18:26few minutes late and then I. Mean overshaded microphone.
- 18:29So. There you go.
- 18:33See you see what? See what Rich does for you
- 18:36watchers exactly. Dedication.
- 18:39Dedication to his craft. Dedication to his craft and
- 18:43shall we look at where the Kickstarter is right now so we
- 18:47have it kind of locked in history?
- 18:51Yep, and FYII announced before the last one.
- 18:56If we get to 1,350,000 before the end of your stream, I will
- 19:03be giving away a legendary warrior.
- 19:05Oh. Nice.
- 19:07Yeah, me. And it doesn't matter if you're
- 19:10across the pond, you'll you'll get it.
- 19:14Oh, look at that. Yeah, come on, make.
- 19:17Yeah, come on, Europeans make Curtis posted across the pond.
- 19:22There you go. He'd probably just give it to
- 19:26what he'd give it to one of us Allegiance Con.
- 19:30So we're at 1.326 million and a bit and over 3000 backers.
- 19:36I think that's relatively new. Yep.
- 19:39I don't know. We just said that.
- 19:40On the last stream. Got you.
- 19:42OK, 3005, look at that. We were listening to your show
- 19:46versus. Yeah, we know.
- 19:53Yeah, we were. But you were definitely that's
- 19:56what you were at. That's why you were late.
- 20:01Very good. And any any last minute pledges,
- 20:04Rich, are you, are you breaking down?
- 20:07Not yet. I've already pledged.
- 20:10I've already pledged $1200. But I might.
- 20:12I might put a little bit more in before the end of the campaign.
- 20:15The the pledge in three or whatever it is the the that
- 20:20helps. With 23,000 more and you can get
- 20:24a legendary warrior rich. Oh, there we go.
- 20:26Oh, here we go guys. We've got another another member
- 20:29of the podcast. Oh, look at that.
- 20:31This is Tilly. Let's tell her bud.
- 20:33That's Tilly the boy. That's Tilly the boy you despite
- 20:36having a girl's name, you can say her.
- 20:38Name. Nope.
- 20:38OK. And anyone?
- 20:44Looking at my pledge right now. Anyone Oh I have you backed yet
- 20:48or you just? Yeah.
- 20:49Oh yes, I've backed yet, OK. You're not one of those guys.
- 20:53I did. I did wait a pretty long decent
- 20:56time into the I think it was when Steve said that he hadn't
- 20:59backed yet on Jeremy's show. Oh.
- 21:02Yeah, that I was like. Yeah, in trouble.
- 21:04I got it. Like, wow, I can't believe he's
- 21:07admitting that. All right, I better do it.
- 21:10That's called doing a bisciotti now, isn't it?
- 21:12Yeah. He has so many things
- 21:16trademarked after his name, not all good.
- 21:23Anyone else you've updated backs?
- 21:28Yeah, I need to change it again now.
- 21:29So that's. We pledged right at the
- 21:31beginning, both of us, but as it's gone on, we've updated.
- 21:33I've got a mini pledge, so I've just got like some of the
- 21:36exclusive things. The dice and the pen and stuff.
- 21:39Yeah, I've got the dice and the pen and a couple of things for
- 21:41GUI. Because if it comes out, if all
- 21:43the stuff comes at Christmas, then that's me sorted.
- 21:49Already started because some rising Suns came and I'm like,
- 21:53well that can be his Christmas present so.
- 21:57OK, no pressure horses. Because I don't have easy
- 22:00access, I'm going to start in March.
- 22:07And Joe, I guess he was stocking up on the gaming items here.
- 22:12Yeah, I've actually added like 4 items just since we started the
- 22:15stream because we start talking about stuff and like my, my
- 22:21oldest son, my, my, like I need an excuse to spend more money on
- 22:28Horsemen product. But my oldest son lives across
- 22:32the country. He lives in Virginia and he's a,
- 22:34a big role-playing fan. So I, I added a, an extra core
- 22:38rule book and an extra set of the exclusive dice so that I can
- 22:41send that to him when it comes in.
- 22:45And then we were talking about the, the vampire, what Lor
- 22:52master, Lor master and, and the purple pants.
- 22:56And I was like, haha, that's a good point.
- 22:58The purple pants would look better on the Lor master than
- 23:00the armoured legs. So I had an extra set of those
- 23:05and some other stuff too. I forget.
- 23:07But it's, I haven't slept in like 20 hours.
- 23:10So, you know, I'm surprised I remembered that much.
- 23:15Oh wow, the, the well. So when, when they added the
- 23:22master of mythos, like I, I messed up my pledge and I
- 23:25realised that I I needed to add another orc barbarian and
- 23:30skeleton warrior for the the heads back.
- 23:33So I I put those on there too and maybe some other stuff.
- 23:37I don't know. That's tomorrow Joe's problem.
- 23:40I'm just having fun today so. I've changed my mind about once
- 23:47every other day and gone in there and made adjustments and
- 23:52then gone back the next day and made adjustments and still doing
- 23:55it tonight. I think yesterday I changed my
- 23:59pledge like 7 times so I don't even know what I have at this
- 24:05point. Don't cancel it by accident.
- 24:09Curses. Yeah.
- 24:10I, I did add another, uh, vampire loremaster set when we
- 24:14figured out that the torch was purple because of vampire farts.
- 24:18I was like, well now I need to. So yeah.
- 24:21I mean I need another one now. Yeah.
- 24:24It's the science. It's the science, so.
- 24:27Yeah, I'm so glad they added that all in level because that
- 24:30simplified my my edges a bit. And OK, I took a couple of
- 24:34things out and then yeah, leave it to the last minute to maybe
- 24:38add some extras, but. Well I'm looking at mine right
- 24:42now and the way they have it itemised with like no pictures
- 24:45makes it really tough to actually remember what I what
- 24:48what these are. Like I I know what the rogue is,
- 24:51I know the druid character pack is, but it'd be nice if it was a
- 24:54little bit clear. We'd blown Kickstarter for that.
- 24:58Yes. Yes.
- 24:59Not the Horseman, Absolutely right.
- 25:07Shall we do some adventure party character creating?
- 25:12Who? Wants, absolutely.
- 25:14So it's it's all the European people that are going to be
- 25:18doing this so you guys can listen and comment and criticise
- 25:24it sounds. Criticise.
- 25:28Advise. Well, I can tell you I've said
- 25:34it in the show before, this would be fairly basic in terms
- 25:38of DND stuff. You know, we won't have hit
- 25:41points and all that. Well, I won't anyway for sure
- 25:44because I don't know what those are really.
- 25:47Others might it's. It's fairly simple, it's the
- 25:52amount of damage you can take before you die.
- 25:54Yeah, yeah, I understand the the basics of it, but I don't
- 25:58understand like which characters get which ones.
- 26:01And you know what, What is a massive no no in terms of, you
- 26:06know, given somebody hit points that they don't like a wizard?
- 26:12I don't know like. Well, if you're.
- 26:14Weapons hit points or something? Trevor taught me an important
- 26:17lesson where if you're a wizard, don't take a low constitution
- 26:21also because you start with less hit points and then you lose hit
- 26:24points because your constitution is less than 10, and then you
- 26:29spend a majority of the fights unconscious, which he did.
- 26:34I remember that from early episodes of Legions.
- 26:38Yeah, he's, he's doing all right now, but oh boy, the beginning
- 26:41was rough. Yeah, he was.
- 26:43He was the paper wizard, so. Except.
- 26:45For the past week when he tried to fireball all of us, he's
- 26:49like, oh wait, that's the wrong spell.
- 26:54I, I don't, I don't think that was an accident.
- 26:56I think that's what he wanted to do.
- 26:59Can you guys call him on? It was a comment.
- 27:06I know what I'm going to do. Mile, Do you want to go first
- 27:13then? People commenting on this
- 27:17because I haven't. Had you think this was a
- 27:23recording or what? I haven't had much time in the
- 27:26last couple of weeks and then I was out drinking yesterday so.
- 27:32So this is what we're we're going to call an interesting
- 27:35character. Well.
- 27:36I'm probably going to get some grief because what I actually
- 27:38did was got home late last night.
- 27:40I thought I don't have time or the Constitution ironically to
- 27:45do this. I was like.
- 27:46I wonder what our friend AI can do for me so I didn't write
- 27:54this. Has your character got?
- 27:57Has your character got 6 fingers?
- 27:58Ma, there's. No pictures, so I.
- 28:03Nobody's character is taking away white collar jobs, so.
- 28:08I so I wrote the prompt into AI write me a biography in the
- 28:12style of Mythic Legions for a character that works for the
- 28:15Mythic Legions RPG that is called this.
- 28:18But I came up with mouse to armour head.
- 28:21He's a dwarf barbarian that is a member of the House of the noble
- 28:25bear. So I've not read this properly
- 28:28yet. So here we go.
- 28:29This is going to be an adventure for.
- 28:30All of us. I don't even know if it's going
- 28:36to make sense within the context of everything either, but we'll
- 28:39see. Although its opening is very
- 28:42good. Mouse to armour head.
- 28:44Except the name. Shield Breaker of the noble
- 28:47bear, Keeper of the Iron Oath. That's pretty good, isn't it?
- 28:51In the elder years of the age of riches left.
- 28:54There you go. In the elder years.
- 28:56I'm still here, I just just. When the mountains still echoed
- 29:02with the voice, I can write this, This is good so far.
- 29:05Still echoed with the voices of Stoneborn kings that rose
- 29:09amongst the dwarven kind warrior whose name would be carved into
- 29:13granite and whispered in the same breath as Thunder.
- 29:17Mouse to on the head, but OK to tuberculosis.
- 29:21James is left as well. Born beneath the root holes of
- 29:25the northern ranges, mouse to everyone's walking out on me.
- 29:35Born beneath the root holes of the Northern ranges, Mouse To
- 29:38was unlike his kin from the moment he first draughts the
- 29:41hammer. While others of his clan honed
- 29:44the crafts of forge and gem, Maoster was drawn to the roar of
- 29:48battle and the primal call of the Wilds beyond the mountain
- 29:51gates. His skull, broad and unyielding,
- 29:56earned him the name Armourhead. So actually, why?
- 29:59Why I thought about Armourhead. But anyway, after he felled A
- 30:01rampaging cave trial by meeting its charge head on, shattering
- 30:06both its tusks and its will in a single brutal clash, Mouth stews
- 30:11path led him away from the deep halls and into the service of
- 30:13the House of the Noble Bear, A faction I like this bit, that
- 30:18revered strength, loyalty and the untamed spirit of the wild
- 30:23among. I'm not sure that's true.
- 30:24If we asked Jeremy how fly the noble bearer.
- 30:27Yeah, but among them he found not only purpose, but kinship.
- 30:31Draped in furs and bearing armour etched with the sigils of
- 30:34the bear, he became a living embodiment of the Creed.
- 30:38Although I don't think they have a creed either.
- 30:39So that's AI making shit up. Endure, protect and strike with
- 30:44unrelenting force. They're called a barbarian by
- 30:48those who misunderstand him. See, this thing was relevant it
- 30:52it Malster is no mindless berserker.
- 30:57I don't think this morning is the morning Trouble theories
- 31:01measured, his wrath deliberate. When battle is joined, he enters
- 31:05A trance like state, said to be guided by the spirit of the
- 31:07Great Bear itself. He strikes become unstoppable,
- 31:11his jury, his endurance seemingly limitless.
- 31:14Many have witnessed him stand alone against overwhelming odds,
- 31:18his body bloodied, button broken, guarding allies as a
- 31:21mother bear guards her Cubs. Still going legend.
- 31:26Going. Going.
- 31:28This. Used a lot of a lot of fresh
- 31:31water to make this. Problem.
- 31:33I was going to say, he never shuts up.
- 31:34Huh. Tiny little figure coming in the
- 31:37box the size of. I thought we were all going to
- 31:39turn off our screens and do the bit every time.
- 31:40Now and then it was just me. We came back.
- 31:47Legend tells that Mao Stew carries A fright.
- 31:49Let's ignore this. But this isn't good.
- 31:51This is. This.
- 31:54Is good bits, you know. Yeah, for all his might, Mal
- 31:57Stew is a creature of quiet moments as well.
- 31:59He's He honours the fall and speaks little but with weight,
- 32:03and holds an unshakable belief that strength is meant to
- 32:06shield, not dominate. Around the fires of his faction.
- 32:09He prevents his His presence is both comfort and warming, a
- 32:13reminder that even the gentlest Guardian may become a storm when
- 32:17unprovoked. When provoked, not unprovoked in
- 32:22the wars that rage across the realms of mythos.
- 32:24There you go. There's a bit of Internet
- 32:27scraping going on for you now. Can I talk?
- 32:29Back on in 20 minutes when he's finished.
- 32:32I've still got the you can finish a dwarf, but I am well
- 32:36bound to the noble bear and destined to leave a legacy.
- 32:40But even the mountains themselves will remember so bad.
- 32:44Is it a Boo AI Boo. I then did.
- 32:50I then did ask AI to make me like which.
- 32:52I actually think this is a very good use of AI for anyone who
- 32:55wants to help me create AD and D character.
- 33:02So class pub, Aryan race, mountain, dwarf, Dwarf for the
- 33:06purpose of mythic RPG. Then it's got the background,
- 33:10which is I'm guessing not going to be relevant for mythic
- 33:15legions alignment. Well, that'll be more like
- 33:17faction, won't it? So it'll be noble bear.
- 33:20And then I've got Strength 17 Constitution 17 Dexterity 13
- 33:26Wisdom 12 Intelligence. So I'm either ugly or really.
- 33:35Tinder profile. Say that again, sorry.
- 33:38Is this your Tinder profile? You know what, maybe that's what
- 33:43I should do is just put, but yeah, it points 15 then it goes
- 33:51on. I've got scale mail and but
- 33:52again, that's probably not going to be Blitz.
- 33:54Yeah, armour proficiencies, although I Barbarians are
- 33:57usually light armour, aren't they Joe?
- 34:00So they have something they can wear medium armour, but they
- 34:03have an ability called Unarmored Defence where they can add
- 34:08bonuses to their armour class. If they don't wear any armour,
- 34:12they're just naturally tough. So.
- 34:21Equipment warhammer hand axe explorers Packer There you go.
- 34:25Scale male so. Yeah, this comment from Sean,
- 34:29you should just make recordings of all the boys.
- 34:31That was my intention. But we and Megs delivered on
- 34:35time and that was it. There was no recording that
- 34:40could be done, so we scrapped that idea.
- 34:45No mouth. But yes, so without going into
- 34:49far too much detail for, you know, DND, that that's pretty
- 34:53much the basics of my character. So what type of dwarf is it?
- 34:56The basics? Dwarf, Barbarian Dwarf.
- 35:00A barbarian dwarf? Yeah, that's that's what I'm
- 35:02thinking I'll probably have a go at in the mythic RPG, which I
- 35:06presume is a thing. You can do so, right?
- 35:10Absolutely. Yeah, Tim is an average stat, so
- 35:15he's fairly exceptional, except for his charisma, which I assume
- 35:18is why it was such a long back story.
- 35:29He's ugly, but he's a good guy. Listening to his back.
- 35:33He's a. He's a.
- 35:34Good lad, but there you go. That's wrong.
- 35:37He did. He did, aided by AI.
- 35:46So I used a little bit of AI for mine in that I edited an
- 35:55existing picture of a figure to kind of look like mine, and I
- 35:58did some of it in an editor, but some of it I couldn't.
- 36:01I couldn't. Believe you've done that,
- 36:02weapons. That's my AI, so let's let's be
- 36:06fully transparent here. But let's move on.
- 36:08Then Rich is gone. So GUI or Megs, which one of you
- 36:13wants to go first? Ladies first one.
- 36:16I'm going to preface this with I have decided to wait until I get
- 36:20the core rule book to learn any of the like hit point stuff.
- 36:24No, that's. OK.
- 36:25So I don't have any of the stats is what I'm essentially saying.
- 36:31Rogue Dwarf Penobseda of Iron Hold, so born beneath the
- 36:37vaulted stone holes of Iron Hold.
- 36:39Born when Iron Hold was prosperous and righteous.
- 36:43Penobseda grew up surrounded by gold, veined marble, jewelled
- 36:47chandeliers, in the scent of smelted irons and metals.
- 36:52Iron Hole prided itself on prosperity, refinement, and
- 36:56influence, and Penobseda was immersed in all of it.
- 37:00But while other Dewar studied metallurgy or gem craft, she
- 37:04wandered the Moss mast caverns beyond the affluent central
- 37:07halls. Panoxido was drawn to life that
- 37:10thrived in shadow fungi that glowed in the dark, vines that
- 37:14dangled stone flower whose beauty concealed venom.
- 37:19She became a botanist. Though in Iron Hold such a
- 37:22calling was considered academical at best, there was
- 37:26little coin in studying Moss and mushrooms, and Penobseda had
- 37:30developed expensive tastes. Silks from Exelania, crystal
- 37:36from Etheros, rare incense from Offidion.
- 37:40Iron Holds well shaped her indulgence, and it's moral decay
- 37:43shaped her career. As Iron Hole grew darker, its
- 37:46rule is greedy and it's politics ruthless.
- 37:49Her knowledge found a more profitable application.
- 37:52Penobseda became an assassin for hire, specialised in natural
- 37:56deaths. A failed heart, a mysterious
- 37:59fever asleep that never ended. No blade, no blood, only
- 38:04exitedly crafted poisons derived from root, resin, spore and
- 38:08seed. Her long Auburn hair, threaded
- 38:11with pine cones and golden beads became her signature silhouette.
- 38:15Her mossy green eyes missed nothing.
- 38:17Her small button nose could distinguish toxic bloom from
- 38:20harmless hair. But a single inhale she smells
- 38:23of vanilla and pine, a signature scent that is deceptively soft.
- 38:28Beakers and small glass vials hang from her belt beside her
- 38:31pouches. Some hold specimens, some hold
- 38:34cures, some hold death. The year, she told us now, she
- 38:38was merely surviving, merely profiting from a system already
- 38:42rotten. But as iron hold shadows
- 38:44deepened, so did her doubt. When a contract crossed her path
- 38:48that would tighten the kingdom's cruel grip rather than loosen
- 38:51it, something shifted the knowledge she had used, and life
- 38:55could just as easily preserve it.
- 38:57Poison and remedy are often separated only by dosage.
- 39:02Penoxider abandoned Iron Hold undercover of night, leaving
- 39:05behind its gilded halls and blood stained politics.
- 39:08Now she wonders, seeking a place where a craft can heal instead
- 39:12of destroy. She does not deny what she was,
- 39:15but she's determined to choose what she becomes.
- 39:23Amazing that. See.
- 39:24That's proper writing now. You know, read books, haven't
- 39:28you? I'm not used to that.
- 39:33I usually get I'm a fighter and he likes to punch horses.
- 39:39Yeah, he's speaking to Europeans now.
- 39:43And the Welsh accent really came out, came out there as well.
- 39:47Thank you. Yeah.
- 39:50My bit of Irish because in the Irish come out.
- 39:55So when you want your angry, no. Oh yeah, it's called Angry Irish
- 39:59Leg whenever you like. Do I know?
- 40:04So you sent me a picture of her. Do you want me to put it up?
- 40:07Yeah, go on, That is AI. There we go.
- 40:12You know, I didn't expect her to be so happy about poisoning
- 40:15people. I love the assassin.
- 40:22The assassin bit is great. They're distracted by the pine
- 40:26cones, so. Very good.
- 40:30So 22 dwarfs so far. What faction is she makes or did
- 40:39you sign her one? Iron Halt so we've.
- 40:44Not put a faction, so we'll decide that.
- 40:48Probably well, because she believes Iron Halt, doesn't she?
- 40:51So she probably like Rise. That's the noble bear.
- 40:54Yeah, probably banished. Let's see we'll.
- 40:57Play around with it and see. Because like if she's using.
- 40:59I'll put you down for Noble Bear now because because I'm making a
- 41:03some of the factory that we can put up at the end so.
- 41:06It's safe. To see maybe.
- 41:07Probably going to be the only one that isn't House the noble
- 41:09there. I didn't.
- 41:12I didn't even hear Meg's because I was being taking, putting
- 41:14together my figure and taking a picture of it.
- 41:16But I'm appalled, Meg. So it's House the noble Bear.
- 41:18Shame on you. Are you ready, Rich?
- 41:21Then so. So we have.
- 41:22Oh God. No, no, no, no.
- 41:24Move on. Somebody else next.
- 41:25OK, and another dwarf then GUI, let's go.
- 41:29Mine isn't a dwarf actually, so there's I wrote, I helped Mark
- 41:34Calvo write his and his was a dwarf.
- 41:37So I feel really what's the word I'm looking for here?
- 41:41Compelled. No, not compelled in theory.
- 41:44Now that you've done your reading, mine isn't half as long
- 41:46as mouth or makes so. Some people, some people will be
- 41:50happy. But there's some books.
- 41:51I was going to say as long as mouth.
- 41:55If it's half as long as miles, that's what, 20 minutes?
- 42:00This is Kath while he is a human and a paladin.
- 42:05A survivalist from the harsh valleys of the Deep Fjord,
- 42:08Cathal abandoned the traditional Leathers and furs of his people,
- 42:12trading ancestral lyric relics for heavy dwarven plate armour.
- 42:17He is on a single minded quest to track down his younger
- 42:20brother Haldor, who vanished while fighting the Sons of the
- 42:23Red Star. Haldor is now reportedly mind
- 42:26controlled and serving a mysterious witch.
- 42:29Cathal is determined to break the spell and to bring his
- 42:32brother home. And that's it, that description.
- 42:37That could fit on the side of a box.
- 42:40Besides just breaking it down. So yeah, just wants to do
- 42:43something a bit different. I was, I don't know, I kind of
- 42:46created this figure a while back and then decided, you know what,
- 42:50that would work. So that was the idea.
- 42:54Very good and noble bear as well.
- 42:57Yes, noble Bear. And he's a paladin.
- 43:01He is. Right.
- 43:05And if you all combined to just gang up on me today with this
- 43:07noble back, yeah. What the hell?
- 43:17Richie ready now? Nope.
- 43:19Absolute him. Go ahead.
- 43:22Ask Meg, read Mark Calvos. I've.
- 43:24Got Mark. Yeah, yeah.
- 43:25Do you want? To read that.
- 43:30This is Calvan the Creator. He is House of the Noble by
- 43:35Dwarf role, master Smith, exile, vanguard and architect of
- 43:41resistance. So in the subterranean halls of
- 43:45the Kingdom of Iron Hold, the name Calvan was synonymous with
- 43:48the finest craftsmanship in the Gravines.
- 43:51As the premier Smith in the court of Cream of King Brom,
- 43:55then Iron Draw, Calvan forged the legendary plate and runic
- 44:00weaponry that made the Iron Hold dwarves A formidable power.
- 44:04To Calvan, every strike of the hammer was an act of loyalty to
- 44:07his king and a tribute to the strength of his kin.
- 44:11The Peace of the Mountain was shattered when King Brandon was
- 44:14a noble and stalwart protector succumb to the corruption,
- 44:18corrupting influence of the Legion of ASEAN.
- 44:22When Bromdon led the Kingdom of Iron Hold into a dark alliance
- 44:26with the demonic forces of the Afda, the walls were fractured.
- 44:31Calvin, horrified to see his master works Armours forged for
- 44:36honour and Axis forged the defence to enter the tools of
- 44:39conquest for the Abyss, made a fateful choice.
- 44:43Like many of his kin, he chose exile over subservience.
- 44:47He abandoned his ancestral forge, leaving behind the wealth
- 44:50of Iron Hole to follow the path of righteousness.
- 44:55Now a central figure among the Exiles who fled the crafted
- 44:58Kingdom, Carl Vorden once pledged was has pledged his
- 45:02hammer to thawed Iron Door. Deep within the hidden
- 45:06strongholds under the mountain, Carl Vorden has established a
- 45:10new forge. He is no longer merely 1/4
- 45:14artisan, he is the Creator, a title learned by innovating new
- 45:18alloys and sniffing techniques specifically designed to Pierce
- 45:22the infernal armour of Anthea's hordes.
- 45:25To his dwarven brethren, he is a provider of hope.
- 45:29The traitors are in hold. He is a figure of dead of dread,
- 45:34a warrior Smith who knows exactly where the seams are
- 45:36weakest. In the armour he once created,
- 45:40Calvin carries a heavy burden, the knowledge that many of the
- 45:44weapons currently builded by Bromdem's corrupted forces were
- 45:46birthed in his own fires. He has taken a solemn vow that
- 45:50he will not rest until every blade he forged for the Traitor
- 45:53King is met and shattered by a superior weapon forged in his
- 45:57uncorrupted. Fires very nice.
- 46:03I believe you you have to mark a bit with that one GUI.
- 46:07Yes, yeah. Yeah, so very good X.
- 46:12Is going to give you a run for your money now I.
- 46:16Think she's much better at reading than?
- 46:17We've got our we've got our female voice for the next for
- 46:21the next readings. Happy to help.
- 46:27Very good. So 44 noble bears now rich.
- 46:32I've sent you a picture of my figure, John.
- 46:34Yeah. Do you want me to go first or do
- 46:37you? Either way, it's fine.
- 46:40Oh, there he is. Marcus here.
- 46:45Just just let your bio. Morning, guys.
- 46:48Morning. I'm just, I'm just here to say
- 46:53sorry for my injured brains. Who?
- 46:57Who on earth? You need to to remind me
- 47:01yesterday that today we have a life.
- 47:03Sorry, I forgot. I forgot Your Catalan.
- 47:06Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 47:08Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolutely.
- 47:11All good, Mark, all good. It's so nice and sunny where you
- 47:15are. Yeah, yeah, I'm running out
- 47:18inside my car, Yeah. Paul, you.
- 47:25So yeah, thank you. I'm leaving because I need to
- 47:27pick up my kids and we are taking the day off.
- 47:30Just sorry again and and I'll try to catch up later.
- 47:35Awesome. Well, you get you get painting
- 47:38later today all those awesome customs that you do so.
- 47:42Yeah, I, I tried to thank you and cheers.
- 47:46Nice. Nice to meet you all guys.
- 47:48Nice to meet. You take care.
- 47:52Bye. Bye.
- 47:55That was cool, Rich. What did you say?
- 47:58Do you want to go then? Yeah, I don't mind you.
- 48:01Yeah, leave the worst to last. So I was going to say say best
- 48:04the last. I don't know if I've done this
- 48:06properly. I literally finished writing
- 48:08this like 10 minutes. We went live.
- 48:10I nicked John's setup in terms of.
- 48:13All these excuses. Degrees in this source.
- 48:15Oh, yeah, I'm a professional bullshitter.
- 48:17Excuses. So I, you know, I take no, no
- 48:20qualms about that. I'll say straighten me off,
- 48:23though. This guy is not in the House of
- 48:24the Noble Bear. No.
- 48:28Love it. Yeah.
- 48:31I'm not trying to kinship. We're going to be the outsiders
- 48:34here, rich in the in this. That's the House of the Noble
- 48:37Bear. That's his batter.
- 48:42OK, so he is a goblin, he's a rogue, his alignment is neutral
- 48:48evil, and his affiliation is the Legion of Arathea.
- 48:53But he worships the Fury Clan gods, not the impostor Arathea.
- 48:59OK, so character summary. Furry Shark Tooth is neither
- 49:04furry nor indeed a shark's tooth.
- 49:06He is a Goblin Rogue, a member of the Fury Clan subset within
- 49:10the Legion of Arathea. He is a goblin for hire.
- 49:13You need somewhere breaking into?
- 49:15He's your man slash goblin. You need a priceless artefact
- 49:18stolen. As long as it's not too big for
- 49:19him to carry. He's your goblin.
- 49:22You need someone to have an accident?
- 49:23Well, you get the gist. Loyal only to himself and the
- 49:27Fury clan, his redskin and shark skull helmet should serve as a
- 49:30warning to all danger awaits any interaction with him.
- 49:35So his background. Murray grew up in a small
- 49:38fishing village on the coast of Ophidian.
- 49:40His family had been banished from God Hollow following a
- 49:43falling out between his father and King Nauglin.
- 49:46Fearing for his family's life, Furry's father took his family
- 49:49to somewhere he you would never expect to see goblins.
- 49:51A mixed coastal community. Unfortunately for Furry and his
- 49:55family, goblin skin doesn't react well to endless hours of
- 49:59sunshine. Out at sea fishing, his skin was
- 50:01endlessly getting severely burned to the point it began to
- 50:04get a permanent red tinge. Relentlessly teased by others
- 50:08over his event over this, he eventually snapped and after
- 50:11killing one of his taunters, fled the village.
- 50:14He travelled up and down the coast of Mythos, sometimes
- 50:17working as a fisherman, sometimes selling tales of how
- 50:20he was once eaten by a shark but cuts himself free and sometimes
- 50:23stealing just to survive. He soon realised breaking the
- 50:27law was easier than working for his money and began a life of
- 50:30crime. It was while beating up a gnome
- 50:33for a crime boss that he was approached by a red skinned orc
- 50:37who said Furry skin made him destined for the Fury clan.
- 50:41Keen to take advantage of the free meal they walk offered him,
- 50:44Furry listened intently and soon found himself drawn to these
- 50:47followers of the Great Fury God. He agreed to join them and has
- 50:51been a devout follower ever since.
- 50:54The Fury Clan have great ambitions to rise to power in
- 50:57Mythos and spread the Fury God's blood teachings across everyone.
- 51:02As such, although they are part of the Legion of Arathea, they
- 51:05very much have their own agenda. They hire themselves out to
- 51:08anyone willing to pay for their strategic advice or pretty much
- 51:12anything. Goblin Rogue was an easy sell to
- 51:15the organisations that sit outside the law, even to rich
- 51:19families to move up within the good factions like the army of
- 51:22the Odysseus or the Order of Ether.
- 51:23One on his first higher job with a group of thieves from an
- 51:27Affidian crime family was called Furry as they misheard him when
- 51:31he said he was in the Fury clan. The shark tooth necklace took
- 51:36away took care of the rest of the name they gave him.
- 51:39That name stuck, so he just went with it.
- 51:43Furry carries A crossbow emblazoned with skulls and
- 51:45firing bolts tipped with various elixirs.
- 51:48Some of these poison the victim, some put them to sleep, while
- 51:51others give them a nasty disease.
- 51:54Cox sees elixirs himself and regards himself as a bit of an
- 51:56alchemist. On the side he also has various
- 51:59daggers, which he is named after the people he took them from.
- 52:02Although dressed in rusting armour, he moves surprisingly
- 52:05quietly and nimbly. So that's his story.
- 52:12And then traits John, you did some traits for yours.
- 52:14So I've either he's a genuine trait.
- 52:16Well they're obviously not one of them, but I'll put them in
- 52:18anyway. So the first trait he has is
- 52:20deception. He can fool anyone into thinking
- 52:23he supports their cause to further the fury.
- 52:25Clans cause patience. He can listen to people moan and
- 52:30whinge about petty little things for hours while he plans their
- 52:33downfall. That's basically me and a
- 52:36collector. He likes to collect knives and
- 52:38daggers, but most unusually, he carves little figures that show
- 52:41who he stole the knives from. He calls them his little legion,
- 52:47and that's it. Love it.
- 52:49That's. Great.
- 52:49Give me. Give me his full name, Furry.
- 52:53Furry shark tooth. Shark Tooth.
- 52:56It was the part where he got sunburned and then made fun of
- 52:58and then killed a man. A partial confession by chance?
- 53:03This has been recorded. I'm not admitted to anything I
- 53:09had to put in. The beating up a gnome thing
- 53:11obviously just upset Curtis, but as I'm using a head painted by
- 53:14Curtis that he generously gave me allegiance gone a couple of
- 53:16years ago, I think that's fine. I'll accept it.
- 53:22There you go. So that's the figure there.
- 53:27Yep, he's missing a shark tooth necklace because I couldn't find
- 53:30it in the rush to put it together, but he will have one
- 53:32eventually. Amazing I.
- 53:35Just couldn't find it. You were the only one to
- 53:37actually have the figure done, which is impressive.
- 53:41Do. You know what I mean?
- 53:42And you know, people think I just show up and late and don't
- 53:46do much, but yeah, put that together.
- 53:49The good under pressure. That's what you should put on
- 53:51your. GUI on totally held up a figure
- 53:54by the way. Yeah, thank you.
- 53:58Where's your picture, then? Come on, boy.
- 54:01Here. No.
- 54:02Here. Put it up there on the screen.
- 54:03There we go. There we go.
- 54:05But don't obscure megs. Come on, bring it over a bit.
- 54:08No, he's good. He's good.
- 54:12Yeah, that looks cool. I did if Mark hadn't showed up.
- 54:15The idea was to just have the the Mark Calvin.
- 54:21It's true to size so rich like that one.
- 54:30Yeah, Rich got that one. Yeah.
- 54:35There we go. Brother of Bjorngar approves
- 54:37Rich. Well, you like.
- 54:38You like that figure? It's one of your favourites from
- 54:40the Rising Suns. It is because he's a Viking, not
- 54:43a barbarian. So yeah, he's a good.
- 54:47Right, we have one more to go. That's me.
- 54:50So another goat. So mine is a jaguarian wizard.
- 54:56So ready, Joe, to be concussed all the time or whatever lying
- 55:04on the ground. Yeah, it's comfy.
- 55:07Yeah, so. His name is Valley of the
- 55:09Shining Moon. Valley is one of my cats.
- 55:12Also the Norse God of revenge so works into his story.
- 55:18He's a disciple of Balaam and currently a member of the
- 55:22Convocation of the Cilia, and so he's a wizard.
- 55:26He's very close to nature. He's a scholar with the heart of
- 55:30a hunter, wielding a staff as easily as a blade and driven by
- 55:34a need for revenge due to a mysterious incident in his past.
- 55:40He wears a simple brown hooded cloak which runs just past his
- 55:44knees and has no adornments save for a simple metal clasp.
- 55:50His fur is striped grey and black with white flecks
- 55:53throughout. Jade green garments represent
- 55:56his harmony with nature, and he generally wears leather boots
- 56:00and gloves when he's out travelling the Kingdom.
- 56:05So the mysterious past So Valley's story begins on the
- 56:08outer reaches of Abidian. His village was not destroyed by
- 56:11an army, but by a late night attack carried out so stealthily
- 56:16it was over before anyone could act.
- 56:18It was the night the elders of the village called the night at
- 56:22the Poison Moon. In a matter of minutes, Valley's
- 56:26entire pride was completely unmade.
- 56:29Not just killed, dissolved, poisoned by a mysterious
- 56:34attacker. Valley survived only because he
- 56:37was deep within a cave, attempting to decipher an
- 56:40ancient stone tablet. When he emerged, the trees were
- 56:45silent. No bodies, no blood, only a
- 56:48lingering scent of Poxus and a single shattered glass bottle
- 56:53beside the statue of Basilia in the centre of the village.
- 56:58Found wandering the wastes by a scouting party From the
- 57:01Convocation of Basilia Valley was taken to the Tower of
- 57:05Ophidian. There he trained his hunting
- 57:07prowess for the study of the arcane.
- 57:11He realised that to hunt the creature who had destroyed his
- 57:15people, a sword would be useless.
- 57:17He needed to understand the fabric of reality his self.
- 57:23Under the tutelage of Balan Balaam, he learned to
- 57:27communicate with all creatures. Indeed, he also spent some time
- 57:30in the Swale learning from Bryophytus, the lichen orc
- 57:35protector of Zylona's flock. Valley's magic is feral yet
- 57:40precise. He doesn't cast magic fireballs,
- 57:42he shapes them into the form of snakes and cats.
- 57:47He uses his jaguarian ability, Agility, to weave through the
- 57:50battlefield, blinking in and out of existence while unleashing
- 57:54devastating bursts of force. Valley carries a small quarter
- 57:59staff as his weapon, but most of his magic power is harnessed
- 58:03through his enchanted fur. Indeed, some say he is flocked
- 58:08with the power of Basilia. Vati is currently tracking the
- 58:13rumour that the circle of POXS has acquired A relic that
- 58:16matches the energy signature of the night.
- 58:19His village. That's his story.
- 58:24Personality traits then, as Rich mentioned, have a few here.
- 58:28So he has patience. Like a stalking cat, he's
- 58:31willing to wait days for the perfect moment to strike wit, so
- 58:37he often corrects grammar of his enemies mid combat.
- 58:41So that's more of a rich trait, to be fair.
- 58:46I thought you were talking about Jesse for a second.
- 58:53He cannot sleep in enclosed rooms he prefers rooftops are
- 58:57the highest tops. He's fiercely defensive of those
- 59:03he considers his new pride, even if he pretends not to care, so
- 59:09he's a bit too cool. Cool for school in that regard
- 59:11though. I mentioned had a picture so
- 59:14basically took the Jigwalian from the Kickstarter.
- 59:18That did a bit of recoloring, so there we go.
- 59:22Oh wow, so. Recolored the cloak brown and
- 59:26the armour green. I also photoshopped in this
- 59:29armour because I thought it was I preferred it for this
- 59:32character. And yeah, and that's the cat
- 59:36head is amazing. That was the bit that AI helped
- 59:38with, plus removing the weapons was to do the the catch.
- 59:42So that's a little bit like my cat.
- 59:43He's black and grey and white. Oh yeah, he's cool.
- 59:48I'd buy him. Absolutely.
- 59:51I'll be customising him at some point so just need a brown Cape
- 59:55like that. Curtis, just just let Darling
- 59:57know. Yeah, sounds like he would be a
- 1:00:01great. This could be a great example of
- 1:00:04like multi classing. I don't know if they do multi
- 1:00:08professioning. You'd have to explain that to
- 1:00:11me, TJ. So like in classic DND or Joe
- 1:00:15can jump in and probably explain it a little better.
- 1:00:17You can multi class. You can start it in one class or
- 1:00:20one profession and then say, you know, I was a fighter.
- 1:00:24Now I'm going to be more of a thief character and more of an
- 1:00:26assassin. So I'll go go over to rogue.
- 1:00:28So you might do levels one through 3 as a fighter and then
- 1:00:32switch over to rogue. And then maybe you want to learn
- 1:00:33a little magic so you can take a new level in a different class.
- 1:00:38So it almost sounds like he was as a hunter, maybe a Ranger or
- 1:00:42something. Maybe like a couple of levels as
- 1:00:44a Ranger and then switched. Over and come to the.
- 1:00:49Yeah, that that's pretty much it.
- 1:00:51You you can change classes in in the 5 E rules, which is what
- 1:00:56this is based off of. I'm I'm not a huge fan of that
- 1:00:59because it kind of slows down your progression compared to a
- 1:01:03single clap. That's personal preference.
- 1:01:05You know, maybe it like a druid, you know, for the for the spell
- 1:01:11casting and stuff, you know, if you multi class like druid and
- 1:01:14then in the wizard you'd have divine and arcane spell casting
- 1:01:19that that could be fun. That would be the better
- 1:01:21transition, yeah. Right here's the summary.
- 1:01:28Then we got. That's our adventure party we
- 1:01:34got. John, I really as a as a fan of
- 1:01:36the convocation. I really liked your your bio
- 1:01:38there. That was thank.
- 1:01:39You. Thank you.
- 1:01:40Yeah, Yeah, we were both. I think that's that's your
- 1:01:43favourite faction as well is. It that is my favourite faction.
- 1:01:45Yeah, there you go. Yeah, we got rich.
- 1:01:50Yeah, he's the goblin rogue from the Fury clan.
- 1:01:54Part of our tear. Very sharp tooth.
- 1:01:58Mouth, mouth Stew. Armour head.
- 1:02:00Is that is that correctly spelled?
- 1:02:02Yeah. Oh, the head was meant to be all
- 1:02:05one word as well. OK, sorry.
- 1:02:08I'm not precious. John Sharks he thoughts as well,
- 1:02:13but I didn't. Want to be pedantic?
- 1:02:19They told you and noble bear. There's me.
- 1:02:22Just read it. Valley of the Shining Moon,
- 1:02:24Jaguarian wizard from Basilia and Meg's Pinopsida of Iron
- 1:02:30Hold. Dwarf Rogue, Noble bear, and a
- 1:02:34sneaky little assassin as well. And Quion Cadwall of the deep
- 1:02:40fjord. He's a human paladin and a noble
- 1:02:43bear. And Mark was coward of the
- 1:02:47creator, a dwarf Smith from the noble bear.
- 1:02:51So Joe, do you think that can that can work as an adventure
- 1:02:54party? Umm, what are we missing?
- 1:02:59No, it's it's so there's this popular thing called a session 0
- 1:03:05where everybody gets together before you make up characters
- 1:03:08and talks. But so rich is what I would call
- 1:03:10a problem player when everybody else is good and trying trying
- 1:03:14to do he's he's the one follower of error there.
- 1:03:19It would be a a pain in the rear to try and find a reason for him
- 1:03:23to agree to adventure with everyone else.
- 1:03:26He's for hire though, so I mean he could just be purely in it
- 1:03:29for the money. Yeah, if he had a few regards,
- 1:03:32he's he'll go along with anything, Joe.
- 1:03:34All right. I mean, we could make it work
- 1:03:36for sure. I wouldn't trust you, but I'd
- 1:03:38make it work. Let's see.
- 1:03:44Two rogues, a wizard, a paladin, dwarven Smith would probably be
- 1:03:50a fighter. So yeah, I I think that's a fine
- 1:03:56a fine party. Rogues are really good at
- 1:03:58dealing damage in in the 2014 OGL rules, So Wizards have the
- 1:04:07potential to be the most powerful class in in the game.
- 1:04:12Paladins, Human Paladins, my favourite race class combination
- 1:04:16anyways, so freaking love paladins and Barbarians.
- 1:04:22I mean, Barbarians are awesome. So yeah, I think that's a really
- 1:04:26solid group actually. Joe, I have a question.
- 1:04:30If you don't have a healer, because I don't know, actually,
- 1:04:33I don't know if Paladin, I'm sure Wizards can learn healing
- 1:04:36stuff, but as you as a player, how do you make up for the lack
- 1:04:39of like a healer and. And it, it's, it's the way your
- 1:04:47your game master has to kind of adapt to that.
- 1:04:49So they have a lot of characters that can deal a lot of damage
- 1:04:54really fast. So the idea is to for the
- 1:04:58players to try and kill every monster as fast as possible.
- 1:05:02So because they don't have someone to heal them.
- 1:05:05So it's you got to win that war of attrition, you know?
- 1:05:09How do you like that free healthcare Europeans?
- 1:05:13Right, it's. I'd like it please.
- 1:05:18Free free healthcare in in in the game is called a long rest.
- 1:05:22If you take 8 hours of sleep, you're you're healed.
- 1:05:25The pool. So that's my plan for after we
- 1:05:27finish this. No, you will be watching the
- 1:05:31live stream smell. Yes, of course.
- 1:05:35I'll have it on the background. He'll dream of it.
- 1:05:39Paladins have the potential to be healers and it depends on on
- 1:05:44how they're, you know, if you take healing spells as your
- 1:05:47spell pool and use your lay on hands for healing, they, they
- 1:05:49can fill in as a, as a healer, but there you go.
- 1:05:53You know, it's, it's not, it's not all that like if you want
- 1:05:57your paladin to be the healer of the group, you got to kind of
- 1:06:00build them to be a healer. So you know.
- 1:06:03Yeah, that's heavy lifting for a Paladin.
- 1:06:05Yeah, yeah, for sure. But they but they can save
- 1:06:08people from dying, which is the best part I'll.
- 1:06:12See what I can do there? You go.
- 1:06:17Yeah. So the two small guys are the
- 1:06:19fighter basically are fighters guys.
- 1:06:20That's that's not great. Put them in a trench.
- 1:06:24And Mark? OK, yeah, I suppose he's.
- 1:06:31Ready to be big? I'm just talking about real life
- 1:06:34here. Talking about black meets all
- 1:06:37monsters, we're fine. Hey, head butts the troll was
- 1:06:41it? Well, there we go.
- 1:06:43Yeah. Run head straight straight first
- 1:06:46into a cave troll. It's yeah, absolutely big of a
- 1:06:49little fella. I should imagine a little
- 1:06:51trampoline he's running. That, that kind of back story.
- 1:07:00I, I know it was AI, but that's, that's kind of a, a classic like
- 1:07:05thing for, for role-playing, you know, a little.
- 1:07:08Bit over the top, wasn't it? Really, well, your first level
- 1:07:11with like 14 hit points and you killed a troll.
- 1:07:15So, you know, those are those kind of things Like, well, after
- 1:07:17my character assassinated the king, I decided to hang out in
- 1:07:21this bar. I'm going to first level
- 1:07:22adventure, you know, like those are, those are kind of fun
- 1:07:26things for backstories. It's not Mal's fault the AI.
- 1:07:34Mal shows the AI. I've worked with it, you know,
- 1:07:42and collaborated and I'm going. To give you credit, Mal.
- 1:07:50I gave it a name, you know. Your pet, your dad uses AI for
- 1:07:57work and you referred he gave it he first named the AI like oh,
- 1:08:02I'm collaborating with and I'm like no he.
- 1:08:05Started. Talking about this person called
- 1:08:09Claudia, and I'm like, who's Claudia?
- 1:08:10He's like, Oh my AI. And I'm like what the fuck?
- 1:08:13Yeah, yeah, that's that's why the AI is to start to get them
- 1:08:17names like Claude is the big one now, isn't it Claudia?
- 1:08:22Claude because it has a female voice.
- 1:08:25He's called it Claudia. I worry about my dad.
- 1:08:29This levels. There you go and watch the first
- 1:08:40episode of the play test to see how Joe improvised.
- 1:08:42Having a no healer party trying to figure out how to use a
- 1:08:46healing potion on the skeleton was hilarious.
- 1:08:49So yeah. Yeah.
- 1:08:51That part of. Part of I, I don't know what the
- 1:08:55final, you know, we don't have the the core rule book and
- 1:08:58stuff, but but during the play testing, skeletons weren't able
- 1:09:04to basically drink potions, right?
- 1:09:06Like they can't, they couldn't consume because they don't have
- 1:09:09a stomach. So so trying to figure out how
- 1:09:13to heal when you can't consume potions and you don't have a
- 1:09:16healer was was interesting. But Stefan can blow darts,
- 1:09:21right? Invisible organs.
- 1:09:31I mean, it said that they couldn't, it was in the thing
- 1:09:34that we got saying that they couldn't consume, they couldn't
- 1:09:37get any benefit from consuming potions.
- 1:09:39So I. Don't know what benefit Mal's
- 1:09:42getting from him, but yeah, he keeps doing it.
- 1:09:46So they were like, can we just like, rub it on his bones?
- 1:09:51Only if it's a SAB. What questions?
- 1:09:55Did you have last night, Mal? That depends how many now, what
- 1:09:59led you to get in the next day? Just got that sound from Mario,
- 1:10:06you know like those little bat like bone Coopers where you like
- 1:10:09and you pop them they go. Just the noise of my head that's
- 1:10:15going on now is from like Mario. Like that's what my smell made
- 1:10:18when he got home last night. Saying nothing.
- 1:10:27And CJ, did I just? See you drink a cocktail.
- 1:10:31Yeah, yeah, it's AI mean it's 3:00 AM where I am so.
- 1:10:36Yeah, that's allowed then. Yeah, I suppose.
- 1:10:37Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely. It's not, uh, late enough to be
- 1:10:41early, so yeah. It's like really really really
- 1:10:46I. Haven't I haven't woken up?
- 1:10:47Yet I've yet to go to sleep. So I mean.
- 1:10:53So the non Europeans then I know where Curtis and Joe you're
- 1:10:58doing the the legions quest. So you have your characters from
- 1:11:02there you're going to carry them over from well, Joe is the the
- 1:11:06games master on that one, but are you going to carry over your
- 1:11:09character, Curtis? No, we when we were doing the
- 1:11:13play testing, we created new characters and I think those
- 1:11:16will probably be the ones that we would use with this unless we
- 1:11:19start from scratch. But I think a lot of us actually
- 1:11:25like our play test characters better than we do our Leech's
- 1:11:29quest characters because. We more experience than yeah.
- 1:11:34When we created it, I think our back stories were a little bit
- 1:11:36better and we just, you know, had more fun, did some more
- 1:11:39voices and stuff. And I know I've talked to Nate
- 1:11:42and Trevor and yeah, several of us like our play test characters
- 1:11:46a little bit more so. Pretty good.
- 1:11:50I will say. What do you What do you have
- 1:11:53for? Well, I mean for me, I've been
- 1:11:57running Legions quest for a few years now, so I've really
- 1:11:59developed the world and established a lot of NBCS that
- 1:12:02they all want to abandon now because they're like, I'm a
- 1:12:05Minotaur so. So just fuck me I guess, I'm not
- 1:12:13trying to tell a story or anything.
- 1:12:18I mean, we have those characters could be in the same world, I
- 1:12:20don't know. No, I it, it's fine.
- 1:12:25I mean, making new characters is part of the fun of the game.
- 1:12:31You know, you try something and then you might be maybe watching
- 1:12:35an online show or even somebody else in the group playing a
- 1:12:38certain class or, or race combination and go, oh man, that
- 1:12:42looks like fun. Or you come up with an idea for
- 1:12:44one. You know, I like, I like the
- 1:12:48role-playing aspect of role-playing, like pretending to
- 1:12:50be somebody that I'm not. So, you know, my favourite class
- 1:12:56to play is a paladin. But it's really, really fun to
- 1:13:00go from this noble heroic paladin to a rogue who's just
- 1:13:05super selfish and out for himself.
- 1:13:07And you get to be kind of the The Dirty rat character, you
- 1:13:11know, and, and stuff like that. So there's just a lot of a lot
- 1:13:16of really interesting ways to express yourself through
- 1:13:19characters, you know, in a role-playing game.
- 1:13:21But that's my, my favourite part is doing, doing the voices and,
- 1:13:26you know, changing the personalities and, you know,
- 1:13:30doing all that kind of stuff. So I'm not giving loot.
- 1:13:33So you don't deserve loot Curtis.
- 1:13:36You have done nothing to earn loot.
- 1:13:38It's it's it's a question, Joe, as someone who is you're an
- 1:13:42obviously a very experienced games master.
- 1:13:45Do you ever, because you want to be part of the game as well, not
- 1:13:49just the the storyteller, do you ever have your own character in
- 1:13:54the party? I mean, it must be obviously
- 1:13:56that's going to be more difficult because you're kind of
- 1:13:57aware of what could come along and what can happen.
- 1:14:00But do you ever sort of have them there and play along a
- 1:14:02little bit or anything or? Well, I, I don't do that
- 1:14:07specifically. Like I don't make a character to
- 1:14:10be a part of a part of the group, but I'm, I'm everybody in
- 1:14:16the world. So I, I kind of get that part of
- 1:14:20it. Like it's, it's fun to play.
- 1:14:22Like if somebody I like, if Jesse wanted to run a game, I'd
- 1:14:25be more than happy to make a character and play and have a
- 1:14:27good time. But when I'm running the game,
- 1:14:30when they go to talk to a bartender, I'm the bartender.
- 1:14:33When they are talking to the guard, you know, that's
- 1:14:35patrolling the town, I'm that guy, you know, and, and I'll try
- 1:14:38to throw in interesting NPCS like like I added a goblin named
- 1:14:44Rugtug that I just, you know, it was an idea that I had for a, a
- 1:14:48player character and he ended up being, you know, the, the party
- 1:14:53reacted to him in such a way that I was like, I got to have
- 1:14:55this guy keep coming back, you know, and then you just kind of
- 1:14:59develop the characters through that, like that way.
- 1:15:01But I kind of get my, my fill, you know, or of, of the
- 1:15:07role-playing part because I'm trying to populate the, the
- 1:15:10world with interesting characters and things like that.
- 1:15:13So, but that's just me, my personal way of doing it.
- 1:15:17Like there are people that do add like their own character to
- 1:15:20adventure partings and stuff there.
- 1:15:22There's no wrong way to do it. Cool.
- 1:15:29You good. And TJ, do you have a character
- 1:15:31in mind? Oh.
- 1:15:35I mean, I've definitely got a several I'm working up.
- 1:15:37Actually, what I, what I started the other night was writing a
- 1:15:42adventure module, an adventure campaign that I mean, I've done
- 1:15:49them before for, for DND. So I kind of know the basic how
- 1:15:52it works and everything. So I'm just kind of writing the,
- 1:15:55the general outline of it now. Then when we get the the rules
- 1:15:58and everything, I'll plug in all the proper, you know, proper
- 1:16:03tech statistics and everything that that'll go along with
- 1:16:06everything. But yeah.
- 1:16:07And then that's the idea is kind of like put it out there for for
- 1:16:10others in the Cabal when you download and and you know, if
- 1:16:14hey, you want this adventure, you know, plug your characters
- 1:16:17into it kind of thing. Cool.
- 1:16:19That's what I'm doing at the moment.
- 1:16:22And why is What have you got? I really liked what you said
- 1:16:25Joe, about like you don't know what source of inspiration your
- 1:16:30character will come from. Like when I, when I go off
- 1:16:33screen like this, I, I realised I still have my goblin from when
- 1:16:38I play with the enablers. So he's a goblin Ranger and his
- 1:16:43name's Gump and he's from the woods.
- 1:16:46So he's a Forrest Gump and, and so I might play as him.
- 1:16:53And then actually when John, when you were reading your bio,
- 1:16:57I was like, my mouth is open because I have a lot of
- 1:17:00parallels because I made, this is the only custom figure I've
- 1:17:03ever really commissioned. And it was Joe Vassapolo
- 1:17:06actually painted this years ago for me before he worked for the
- 1:17:09studio, I think officially. And it was also inspired by a
- 1:17:13picture that I saw online of this cat that had like split
- 1:17:17kind of hair, like when I was yellow and the hair was red on
- 1:17:20one side and black on the other. And so she's from the circle of
- 1:17:23poxes, so she might be the one that disintegrated all your
- 1:17:28Jigwelian friends there. You go see another cat, but they
- 1:17:34probably would do that to each other.
- 1:17:35Let's be honest, right? So yeah, I I have a bio for her
- 1:17:39and stuff. So I was trying to figure out
- 1:17:41actually, while this was going on, what like class she would
- 1:17:44be. And I think Warlock probably,
- 1:17:49yeah. So work in progress.
- 1:17:53Very cool and eh, so rich. You're dirt, The Dirty rat of
- 1:17:58the group. I am.
- 1:18:00I'll take that role. That's fine.
- 1:18:01Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:18:04I, you know, my character can listen to people would tend to
- 1:18:06be interested to what they're saying.
- 1:18:07I can do that in real life as well.
- 1:18:11But that's what I would do with you every week on the podcast.
- 1:18:14No, So you know what I mean? It's it's it's I'm.
- 1:18:16Impressed. I'm impressed you didn't fall
- 1:18:18asleep, John, while I was doing my reading.
- 1:18:21And then when you're throwing folks shade, you know it's just
- 1:18:24because that's your character. Exactly.
- 1:18:26Yeah. It's not because you're getting
- 1:18:27lippy. No, it's actually not.
- 1:18:32Very good and we got a bunch of people here in the chat.
- 1:18:36It's great. There's a ID with these Welsh
- 1:18:39character named Morning Woods though that's a bit cheeky.
- 1:18:45I think bad puns are as much of a part of DND is like the dice,
- 1:18:49yeah. How do you say that that first
- 1:18:51name GUI? Kritwin.
- 1:18:54OK, see, I would never have said that.
- 1:18:57It's very Brett and Rich and I message and he described this
- 1:19:01character and I'm like, oh, that reminds me of Kritwin from like
- 1:19:08mythology of folklore here. And then Brett messaged the name
- 1:19:12and it was Kritwin as well. Like, well, there we go then.
- 1:19:14So yeah, it's the name that's is quite famous around these paths,
- 1:19:20so. I apologise in advance when I
- 1:19:23run that game and absolutely butcher the name.
- 1:19:26So sorry about. That.
- 1:19:28Joe And then you can just play that every time.
- 1:19:31Yeah, that's what I need. Like like a sound chip.
- 1:19:33Yeah, it. Helps though it's phonetic, so
- 1:19:36it's like Kevin when like it's pretty much about how you would
- 1:19:41say it. I, I'm sorry, I'm just not going
- 1:19:44to try that hard. I apologise.
- 1:19:46Got to get all those names on the soundboard and so you hit
- 1:19:49the queues. Well I do have a new entry in
- 1:19:52the soundboard and I forgot to press it when Mal has finished
- 1:19:55his bio. Stick it and you may fix.
- 1:20:04I have to, I have to give credit to Anthony Halsey.
- 1:20:07And he sent me a message that I needed to clip that from this
- 1:20:09week's episode. I had missed it entirely, but it
- 1:20:12comes. It's literally in the middle of
- 1:20:14a sentence, so it's kind of out of contact.
- 1:20:19There you go. Yeah, He was basically talking
- 1:20:22about cosmic Legions character, so that's where it makes sense.
- 1:20:26But you know, we could use it for all sorts of purposes here.
- 1:20:35That's an interesting question. It's awful.
- 1:20:41This. Again, this is just my personal
- 1:20:43opinion, but a group of all villainous characters?
- 1:20:47It's hard because the the idea is that you're a group of
- 1:20:50characters that are working together towards a goal and
- 1:20:53villainous characters tend to be very selfish.
- 1:20:58So that the few times that I've ran games where everybody ran
- 1:21:03evil character, it was so hard to keep things on track.
- 1:21:05We're like, if you're all good guys, it's like, oh, we're off
- 1:21:08to save the village, you know, or slay the monster that's
- 1:21:12tormenting this this region or something like that.
- 1:21:15Like, like it's easier to find similar goals.
- 1:21:18But when everybody is is selfish, you know, they're
- 1:21:21they're stabbing each other in the back and you know, well,
- 1:21:25I'll help you, but I'm going to rob, you know, the town blind
- 1:21:29and then you know, it's. It's, it's, that's everybody
- 1:21:32playing more chaotic, I guess. Right, right.
- 1:21:36If you had a bunch of lawful evil characters, they might be
- 1:21:38unified in a goal or something like.
- 1:21:40That, well, that's that's where that Session 0 comes in handy if
- 1:21:44you can get together in advance and have everybody talk it out
- 1:21:48where you can find some kind of similar goals to to work
- 1:21:52together towards, you know, what you're trying to accomplish.
- 1:21:55Otherwise it it can be kind of a mess.
- 1:21:58I'm not a fan, but you know, I know some people prefer evil
- 1:22:02characters, like, like they get to all the things they can't do
- 1:22:08in real life. They want to take out, you know,
- 1:22:10in the game, you know, and stuff.
- 1:22:11So I get to ask you, it's being a game master is almost kind of
- 1:22:17like being a psychologist. You know, you, you're dealing
- 1:22:19with personalities a lot, so. But yeah, even on Legion's
- 1:22:24quest, there's there's plenty of varied personalities there.
- 1:22:28Oh boy, is there some personalities?
- 1:22:30So yeah. Some Divas.
- 1:22:32And then there's Curtis as well. He's he's the most down to Earth
- 1:22:351. Yeah, well, it's one in the
- 1:22:37chat. That's a Whose hand is that
- 1:22:48again? I I I remember it but it.
- 1:22:51Was a bandit that we we came across so.
- 1:22:55Not Joe Manganello's hand. No, no, no.
- 1:22:59So they, they, they were just fighting a normal group of
- 1:23:02bandits and one of the bandits was left alive and for some
- 1:23:07reason they like to interrogate everyone.
- 1:23:10And so so the bandit didn't know anything.
- 1:23:15Jesse punched him in the mouth and knocked out his front teeth.
- 1:23:18And Curtis decided to cut off his hand and and keep it as a
- 1:23:21trinket and somehow but they let him go.
- 1:23:27And the bandit has come back with mysterious magical powers
- 1:23:30and an extreme vendetta against the party and has actually
- 1:23:34become the main villain of the current part of the adventure.
- 1:23:39So I noticed now when Curtis takes hands off of enemies, he
- 1:23:45makes sure that they're dead first.
- 1:23:48So it is like being a psychologist?
- 1:23:50Yeah, absolutely. 100% Sometimes you have to learn lessons.
- 1:23:55Yeah, I love, I love to to build things in kind of a natural way.
- 1:24:02You know, we're like, so it's this villain, this this bandit
- 1:24:08is just a normal bandit. He's meant to be like a
- 1:24:10throwaway guy for the party to kill as part of a group, you
- 1:24:14know, but he doesn't die. But they cut off his hand.
- 1:24:18Now he has a lisp. You know, there's not enough
- 1:24:21blood in this entire town. The quenched the revenge I'm
- 1:24:26going to get against you, but he has this mysterious magical
- 1:24:30powers that they don't know where where he got them from and
- 1:24:34he's summoning demons and doing all wreaking havoc and murdering
- 1:24:38innocents and doing all these terrible things.
- 1:24:41I didn't have it planned, but when they let the villain live
- 1:24:44but the bandit live, I was like, I got to do something with this
- 1:24:47so you know. That's very cool, bringing,
- 1:24:51bringing an old foe back, somebody they thought was gone.
- 1:24:53That I never thought of doing that in a campaign.
- 1:24:55That is very clever. Yeah, yeah, that was a long time
- 1:25:01ago. I was running a game for my my
- 1:25:03home game with my friends and and my oldest son was playing
- 1:25:06with us at the time. And they were in like this
- 1:25:11fighters college and they were trying to sneak out to stop a
- 1:25:14villain. But there is this 1 noble that
- 1:25:18was there who was like a real jerk, you know, like the I'm a
- 1:25:22noble so I'm better than you type of guy.
- 1:25:26They're trying to sneak out and he catches them and he's like
- 1:25:28ah, I'm going to tell on you. And they're all arguing.
- 1:25:31And my friend James was playing a dwarf and he got frustrated
- 1:25:34and he just punched the guy in the groyne area and rolled a
- 1:25:38natural 20 to strike. So he like doubles over this
- 1:25:43noble and they just like put them up in the tree on a tree
- 1:25:47branch and and snuck out. Well, the noble was extremely
- 1:25:50embarrassed, so he wanted revenge on them so bad.
- 1:25:56And I kept bringing him back in ways like he would hire at first
- 1:26:00bounty hunters and then the bounty hunters didn't work so he
- 1:26:03hired assassins and then, you know, then he was trying to get
- 1:26:07them in trouble with the line. He's just constantly doing these
- 1:26:09things. Eventually he ended up making a
- 1:26:13deal with a demon to to get enough power to, to destroy the
- 1:26:18party. And then the demon betrayed him
- 1:26:21and drug him into hell and they had to adventure into hell to
- 1:26:24save the noble that was trying to kill them.
- 1:26:29And it's just like this natural progression, you know, of, of
- 1:26:32things that I don't know, I think, I think adds to it.
- 1:26:36It's not just some random dude like aha, I'm the bad guy.
- 1:26:40I'm going to get you. But if there's a connection, you
- 1:26:42know it. It just is a little bit more
- 1:26:45interesting so. So after this Kickstarter then
- 1:26:52you think we'll get more RPG waves from Mythic Legions down
- 1:26:58the line? Yeah, I mean, everything can be
- 1:27:00an RPG wave in in a sense, you know, specifically where they'll
- 1:27:04name it. And of the characters that they
- 1:27:09listed were possible, there is a minor torso.
- 1:27:12We haven't got one of those in this.
- 1:27:14So Asterion version 2 maybe. Maybe he's going to come down
- 1:27:20the line soon or like the what is it Legacies of mythos.
- 1:27:26You might. Do you think they'll release
- 1:27:28their make him bigger? You think he'll be a root scale
- 1:27:31or an ogre scale or? Scale, but maybe a brute scale
- 1:27:36would would work. Brute scale it'll.
- 1:27:39Be an interesting thing, I think if from now on they release a
- 1:27:43figure with a mini figure. So like at the at the G1 wave,
- 1:27:48if they do a figure and it comes with a minifigure now, because
- 1:27:50that's the whole point in this is that you use your your full
- 1:27:55scale. I'm wondering now if they'll
- 1:27:57start doing minifigures alongside it so that you can
- 1:28:01play that new character or something similar to it, or at
- 1:28:04least for the legion builders. When when they showed the the
- 1:28:12page with the races on it, the representation for the Minotaur
- 1:28:16was Rigarian who is an over scale figure.
- 1:28:20That's the picture that's next to the the race for Minotaur.
- 1:28:25So. You revealed your hand for
- 1:28:28horsemen. But he turned out really cool,
- 1:28:33actually. I wasn't the most excited for
- 1:28:38him in that wave, but in hand, he's one of those ones, one of
- 1:28:42those stereotypical ones that you think, oh, in hand, Amazing.
- 1:28:45Yeah. Yeah, the paint, the paint job
- 1:28:48is so good in hand. I think when they showed it
- 1:28:49originally you couldn't see that, but in hand is really.
- 1:28:52Good. Have we given more shade to
- 1:28:54Trevor here now or what? I was going to say on when
- 1:29:00they're holding them up, but if you want to give some Trevor
- 1:29:02shade. I heard he was getting some
- 1:29:04shade at the end of your show this morning or there's.
- 1:29:09Only so much you can do with the camera.
- 1:29:10It doesn't. It's not as good as like, real
- 1:29:13life, like perfect. Real life.
- 1:29:16Eyes, real life eyes, yeah, like like I think the like the rising
- 1:29:22Suns wave in hand like Neve, for example, is like like loads
- 1:29:28better. But it's it's one of those
- 1:29:30things where you took a brilliant picture.
- 1:29:33It's just sometimes seeing it in hand, you can see all the
- 1:29:35intricacy in a picture that you just.
- 1:29:37Can't make it come into bats for Trevor.
- 1:29:39I will I. Yeah.
- 1:29:41I'm imagining you're patting them on the back saying.
- 1:29:44Super high. Definition what what they should
- 1:29:46probably do in future ways is so they have the professional
- 1:29:50Trevor picture, you know, perfectly, you know, studio
- 1:29:54photograph and then a shit one on a on a on a smartphone and.
- 1:29:59I'll do that. That's the range you have, you
- 1:30:05know, this even with the the evil paladin, you know, some
- 1:30:10people didn't like it, like me for example.
- 1:30:13And then other people were saying, Oh yeah, but in hand.
- 1:30:15And you know, when I saw a picture from Toyland or
- 1:30:18whichever one, it was shown that it was much better.
- 1:30:23Like it's a bit of a struggle for me.
- 1:30:26If if it looks better on the shit picture then yeah.
- 1:30:30It. Probably isn't great, you know
- 1:30:32it's. A better way around just a bit.
- 1:30:33Oh, it looks way better in person than it.
- 1:30:36Oh gosh, it looks better in the pits.
- 1:30:37Well. Yeah, in person with your eyes,
- 1:30:39OK, I can understand that, but in well.
- 1:30:42The the last time they tried that, John, it didn't work out.
- 1:30:45With Barry, there's Fury. Remember that.
- 1:30:48Oh yeah. They showed just a picture from
- 1:30:50the the desk or something and everybody flipped their lid.
- 1:30:56They can't win, let's put it that way.
- 1:30:58Yeah, there's no way to win. There's no way to win.
- 1:31:01I will say that that villain is Paladin.
- 1:31:04Seeing it in person, it was the most impressed I've ever been
- 1:31:08seeing a figure in person. It's.
- 1:31:11The blue one. Yeah, that's the one, yes.
- 1:31:15Really. Yes, well.
- 1:31:16What about it was so impressive? The, the, the soft goods that
- 1:31:20there's like a metallic to the blue that really pops and just
- 1:31:25the way that it comes together, the leather, I think it's the
- 1:31:27the blue leather, the way that they did it it, it's probably
- 1:31:30the best leather that they've painted in my opinion.
- 1:31:34It just it, it really is a beautiful figure when you see it
- 1:31:37in person and you know not and I know Trevor didn't do the
- 1:31:42pictures of that one. So this is no knock on Trevor,
- 1:31:44but the pictures really do not do that figure justice.
- 1:31:47It's one of those that I think people are going to get in hand
- 1:31:50and go, Oh my God, this is amazing.
- 1:31:53How close are the blue boots to the shadow elf skin tone,
- 1:31:57Curtis? They're very close in the
- 1:31:59pictures. There's a, there's a lot more
- 1:32:03like black, like a black wash and shading to it.
- 1:32:07So I would say it's darker. But yeah, OK, it's hard to say.
- 1:32:14I did like those. I did like the blue leather
- 1:32:16parts actually. I know you guys didn't like him.
- 1:32:18You being the your legions. Yeah, no, it was more than the
- 1:32:22silver armour. I didn't like kind.
- 1:32:26Of you don't see much of the silver armour.
- 1:32:28Yeah, I understand. I got no.
- 1:32:30Problem with blue leather but. When the character's blue as
- 1:32:32well, it's like. Yeah.
- 1:32:34The blue boots, so like I just if like because obviously mythic
- 1:32:39legions just sort of I think a bit more like fantasy mediaeval.
- 1:32:42So I just don't think blue leather boots.
- 1:32:44I think if it was a blue leather torso I'd be like fine, but
- 1:32:47boots I'm just like they'd be brown or black.
- 1:32:51They. That's just a personal
- 1:32:53preference I think. I think that I my head can and
- 1:32:56the family heirlooms made out of one of your grandparents as an
- 1:32:59health thing, so that's a similar.
- 1:33:01Yeah, telling you people are going to get that in hand and go
- 1:33:04wow, wow. I might have to add another one
- 1:33:09of those today then. Curtis, thank you for that.
- 1:33:11Yeah, sorry about that. And then in a hopefully at the
- 1:33:16end of this year, when you get it, you'll be sending a message.
- 1:33:18Curtis, what were you talking about?
- 1:33:22I mean, I've been a lot of G cons.
- 1:33:24I've seen a lot of reveals. I've I've there's been a lot of
- 1:33:27figures that I've seen for the first time in person.
- 1:33:29This was the most impressed I've ever been.
- 1:33:31So wow, I'll. Tell you praise.
- 1:33:36Excellent. Because I don't.
- 1:33:37I don't like Scally's sorry breath, but like I'm not a big
- 1:33:41fan of skeletons, but like Scapula is this gorgeous figure.
- 1:33:45Like I really liked that figure in hand.
- 1:33:48So that's what you're saying. It's like, yeah.
- 1:33:49And there's difference. Yeah, the fun pictures granted
- 1:33:54them a bit like that with mythic legions anyway, aren't I?
- 1:33:56I'm like, no, no, don't get me one, and then we will better get
- 1:33:58it. For me.
- 1:33:59I'm like, oh, I love it. But I'm missing 1.
- 1:34:05It's in my here's a question from the chat from Vandal Small
- 1:34:13world. The figures in the kids start
- 1:34:15are meant to represent your playable character.
- 1:34:17Pop and swap aside or any of you intending to use them for the
- 1:34:21game. Firstly, I'm going to use most
- 1:34:23of them as father. So because what he means is are
- 1:34:27you going to just straight up use one of the characters?
- 1:34:30No, no modifications. Maybe the maybe the villains
- 1:34:35like the the skeletons and stuff like as as minions but not as a
- 1:34:39player character. Yeah, I mean, I I did do the,
- 1:34:46you know, the Jaguar Lien. I could probably use him
- 1:34:49straight up pretty much, but as I customise and mess around
- 1:34:54anyway it just would be too tempting to not do something to
- 1:34:58make it personal. I could really.
- 1:35:02Oh, go ahead, Joe, Go ahead. Oh, I was just going to say I, I
- 1:35:05could really see people that were new to the line, you know,
- 1:35:08like new to mythic legions taking them and just using them
- 1:35:12right out-of-the-box as their player characters at 1st until,
- 1:35:15you know, those of us with large collections and a bunch of extra
- 1:35:19pieces, Of course we're used to all this.
- 1:35:21We're going to, you know, have more intricate builds, but I, I
- 1:35:25think people that are new to it and that's, that's probably the
- 1:35:28appeal of the $30 figures is just to get, you know, those
- 1:35:33people in the door, you know, and then at first they'll
- 1:35:37probably use those and then as they learn how the line works
- 1:35:40and pop and swap and stuff, they'll be just like the rest of
- 1:35:42us and obsessed with building overly complex figures.
- 1:35:48Like, like I built my PC and it only cost me $500, you know?
- 1:35:54I've been, sorry, I was just going to say I've been obsessed
- 1:35:58with the vampire loremaster, so of all of the ones, I could
- 1:36:03probably see myself actually actually running that one
- 1:36:06because I just think it's so interesting of a concept.
- 1:36:09Yeah. I mean, there's so much stuff
- 1:36:11there that you in the whole selection that you could
- 1:36:15definitely, you know, make multiple different type of
- 1:36:20characters even than they've shown, you know, the they've
- 1:36:24done the prebuilds for you could use the character packs, mix and
- 1:36:26match between a few different ones to make even different
- 1:36:29character, so. I think the female wizard or the
- 1:36:33female druid you could use straight up.
- 1:36:36Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:36:37So I mean, in comparison, I mean, there's loads of female
- 1:36:40figures now. We've got a whole bunch.
- 1:36:42But like, I think in terms of female figures, those were two
- 1:36:45very easy ones just to straight up use.
- 1:36:48They look fantastic. My only sort of background with
- 1:36:53this sort of RPG thing is playing Wow, and I always
- 1:36:56played. A.
- 1:36:59Wizard, didn't I? Rob out there, he was asking
- 1:37:02about the my play test character.
- 1:37:05So I use the various torso in arms and then one point O legs
- 1:37:12to kind of get that's awesome bigger upper body.
- 1:37:14That's really cool. I straight up thought that was
- 1:37:18like one of those third party fantasy figures at first.
- 1:37:22That looks really cool, you know what I mean?
- 1:37:24Yeah, that looks awesome. No, just a custom.
- 1:37:27Curtis gave him a large up her body and he's a dex fighter so.
- 1:37:34And Rich, this is just a giant fodder box for you, is it?
- 1:37:39Yeah, basically, I doubt anything.
- 1:37:42Will stay as it comes and now. They're just going to go in my
- 1:37:48collection as figures. I probably, when it comes to the
- 1:37:50RPG, I probably, as much as it's the unique selling point of the
- 1:37:54mythic RPG, probably make use figures for it anyway, right?
- 1:37:59I just think the figures are all very cool.
- 1:38:01In in a couple of the streams tonight Brett was talking about
- 1:38:04doing the lore master but using the purple pants from the
- 1:38:08barbarian set and that has me really excited.
- 1:38:14Yeah, that's. Good idea.
- 1:38:16That's a great idea. I love colour coordination so
- 1:38:19I'm all for that. Except blue boots.
- 1:38:23Except blue boots. Yeah, no blue boots.
- 1:38:26I love the blue boots. You wouldn't.
- 1:38:28I would. The only piece of why I wouldn't
- 1:38:30is because you wouldn't like them.
- 1:38:34You'd be like, I'm not going up, you can go somewhere else.
- 1:38:37We have a movie. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:38:42Anthony, I know you see it's very late at night for you and
- 1:38:46you do get up early, but even you overslept this one.
- 1:38:52I think you're on mute, Anthony. No, he's not.
- 1:38:59You got your sound. Just no volume.
- 1:39:05Just quick, somebody mouth what he's saying.
- 1:39:07Put words in his mouth. Can't do you bad looking.
- 1:39:11Initially. Don't worse.
- 1:39:16I've never. Somebody saying this Rich's
- 1:39:18Rich's goblin is far better than either the dwarves.
- 1:39:20Oh. My goodness.
- 1:39:25OK, well Anthony, you sort that out and you shout.
- 1:39:29When we hear you, we hear you. Speakers plugged in that might
- 1:39:32be messing with your microphone. Anyway, we had also an
- 1:39:39interesting one from Archer here.
- 1:39:42Do you think there are many new to the line with the
- 1:39:44Kickstarter? Absolutely.
- 1:39:47I think over 3000 backers now is. 3012.
- 1:39:52Yeah, you'd have to think that there is some people coming from
- 1:39:56outside the community. I said even.
- 1:40:00A couple of comments and the quick starter I think where
- 1:40:02people said they were new to it. Yeah, I said on our show, I
- 1:40:05didn't know. I think it's an excellent way in
- 1:40:06for people to you know, you grab as much as it's a large
- 1:40:09investment for your first venturing, grab one of those
- 1:40:14sets that's got the part the the character packs and the figures
- 1:40:19and so much popping and swapping, as we've said not so
- 1:40:23long ago on here. And and you find out exactly
- 1:40:26what the line is, don't you? And get all the best parts of it
- 1:40:30in the best it's and probably get you excited for everything
- 1:40:35else there is there. So like Joe you prob Oh, sorry
- 1:40:39Max, you want to go? There you go.
- 1:40:41I was just going to say, Joe, you're probably aware like
- 1:40:43there's a huge community of mini painters, right?
- 1:40:46And I think that it would be cool if they sent some of the
- 1:40:51minis to people to paint, you know, and maybe like even the
- 1:40:54full size figures and had. And I'm.
- 1:40:55And when I say to people, I mean, like big account, like
- 1:40:58there's big accounts that people follow to see, you know, stuff
- 1:41:01get painted real cool. And yeah.
- 1:41:05And I think they could reach some really cool groups that
- 1:41:07way. Like my old roommate was Adm and
- 1:41:09he painted all kinds of minis and he would show me all these
- 1:41:11crazy pages of people. So yeah, I hope there's a lot of
- 1:41:15new people that like, get into it because of it.
- 1:41:17Hey, can you hear me now? Sorry, I I didn't mean to
- 1:41:24interrupt there. I took my daughter out for her
- 1:41:2621st birthday for her first official legal drink and
- 1:41:31Needless to say, I I overslept so the.
- 1:41:36Both have smiled then. Except he didn't oversleep
- 1:41:38because it was 8 in the morning for him, so it wasn't the.
- 1:41:41The real reason why I came on here is just because I wanted to
- 1:41:44say hello to Meg's. I haven't seen anything and I've
- 1:41:46missed it. Well, you'll be.
- 1:41:51You'll be proud of Meg's, and you'll be proud of most of the
- 1:41:53European Adventure Party because they're mostly dwarves.
- 1:41:56Look at this. Of course.
- 1:41:58Oh, this is great. Oh, wait a minute, what the
- 1:42:01hell? What's this?
- 1:42:01Goblin rogue? So.
- 1:42:06So actually, in full transparency, I am.
- 1:42:10When we've been play testing, I've been using my dwarven
- 1:42:14barbarian, but so when Tony and I play, he plays as a dwarven
- 1:42:18fighter and I just didn't want to over dwarf it.
- 1:42:22And I don't know if that even exists, but I've been using a
- 1:42:26goblin Ranger that I put together.
- 1:42:28So we've been going to. It's almost like a buddy cop
- 1:42:31movie when we play nice. Nice, there you go.
- 1:42:37So there's 4 dwarfs in our party.
- 1:42:39I like it just. Me and Rich are.
- 1:42:43There's 3 Joe, wait a minute. I know.
- 1:42:55I'm friend. There's the reason why I said hi
- 1:42:59to Meg's first. Work hard revoked.
- 1:43:03Wow. Does this mean I've become a
- 1:43:08moderator of Kings of the Mountain instead?
- 1:43:12Suddenly, suddenly admin status is revoked.
- 1:43:18I woke up for this. Oh man.
- 1:43:23So are we all excited? What's the new number at?
- 1:43:25Do we have? Do we have a total yet?
- 1:43:27It's, I'll bring it up here now in a SEC, but.
- 1:43:30It's just gone up as you asked. 1330 it's going that's shared.
- 1:43:35OK, cool. So even if if this, if we were
- 1:43:39at the unlockables, all this goblin talk, it wouldn't matter
- 1:43:43anyway because we wouldn't have we haven't been able to unlock
- 1:43:45it yet. So cool.
- 1:43:50That was your brother after after the goblin.
- 1:43:52Oh, it was leading up to it. It was all the we're getting,
- 1:43:57we're getting neglected. They're yeah, they're not
- 1:44:00whatever I'm like. And I and I the whole time is
- 1:44:04going there. We got to get, I mean, we got to
- 1:44:06get a goblin. We got to get something.
- 1:44:08So my first thought was when the monster head pack came out, I'm
- 1:44:12like, all right, cool. They'll put a goblin part in
- 1:44:14there and you'll be able to piece together parts maybe from
- 1:44:17the monster pack, maybe to be like a one point O goblin, maybe
- 1:44:20from the new Gob Paulo set or something like that.
- 1:44:23And then when it showed up and it was just like the the orc and
- 1:44:27then that skull, I was like, Oh, well, there's always wave 2 of
- 1:44:33this campaign, you know, for the next go around, maybe we got a
- 1:44:36goblin. Zone.
- 1:44:37And then they announced the the Paladin and I was like, see,
- 1:44:40well shut up you big baby. And then I hope he didn't listen
- 1:44:47to our show. Yeah, I got that.
- 1:44:50You listen to your show, I'm sure.
- 1:44:54Yeah, 3013 backers now that's eight more since we started.
- 1:44:58So wow, people are still joining?
- 1:45:00That's, I mean the backers alone.
- 1:45:03Yeah, that's that's. Insane to see that many people
- 1:45:06back that I mean and someone after it's all said and done
- 1:45:10someone will do a per average and what it looked like and that
- 1:45:13that's what's going to blow people's minds.
- 1:45:15Yeah, we. Curtis did it a bit earlier, so
- 1:45:18it's like. It's like 441 dollars wow each.
- 1:45:24That's amazing. And yeah, yesterday there was
- 1:45:28172 new backers and already today 47 new backers today.
- 1:45:36I think whatever about the the dollar amount, that's just
- 1:45:40impressive that people are still coming on board.
- 1:45:43You know, suppose that's where they're going to get the get to
- 1:45:48the 1.5 and maybe beyond as if there is people just really
- 1:45:51leaving to the last minute because a lot of us are pretty
- 1:45:55much loaded with the pledges. I guess you know it's going to
- 1:46:00be. An inch fine again a second ago.
- 1:46:02Yeah, I've been making notes on my phone, adding extra stuff in
- 1:46:05while we've been talking. It's like, oh, the law master
- 1:46:08with the purple trousers. What?
- 1:46:10Each of those. Going to be a figure or a
- 1:46:11character pack here or there. It's not going to be like, you
- 1:46:14know, another all in. Yeah, OK.
- 1:46:21But you should say that 441. I'm not close to that at all.
- 1:46:27So this has been available at retail as far as I understand,
- 1:46:32and I can jump in if you want. Everything that's not exclusive
- 1:46:36to the Kickstarter will be available at retail in some
- 1:46:40shape or form. I know they're trying to get
- 1:46:42into bricks and mortar shops in for the US plus the current
- 1:46:48retailer network, so the figures are likely to show up on Big Bad
- 1:46:52for example. What I what I don't know, and I
- 1:46:56don't know if this is what they're asking is, is if it's
- 1:46:58going to be like the normal retail stuff where it's like
- 1:47:01there's an open pre-order or if it's going to be something where
- 1:47:04it's like they make some and then they sell it to retailers
- 1:47:08to carry on their shelves or whatever.
- 1:47:09And like, so I don't know if there's going to be a pre-order
- 1:47:12retail window or what that would look like.
- 1:47:17Well, obviously big bad will have stuff and then and the and
- 1:47:20the hope and the hope and dream is the end game is that you can
- 1:47:23go to your local gaming store and then pick up at least at the
- 1:47:32minimum, the the game itself and maybe some form of of the
- 1:47:37accessories to go with that. Maybe not a lot of the figures
- 1:47:41because I can't, I can't see a small mom and pop shop buying
- 1:47:48$10,000 worth of the figures. But they may have, you know, a
- 1:47:53set maybe to display to show off what it can be done and then
- 1:47:56like a link to, you know, 4 horsemen or something like that.
- 1:48:00But there's got to be something to keep this going for the games
- 1:48:06itself, you know, so there's so there's going to be options to
- 1:48:09be able to get the games. This isn't like the figure, like
- 1:48:12the regular figures where you pre-order them and then there's
- 1:48:16the finite amount and then they exist and then that's it.
- 1:48:19Like they they have to keep. I would think that they'd have
- 1:48:23to keep something fresh. I don't want to use the term
- 1:48:27Evergreen because that's not a word that we like to use, but in
- 1:48:30stock to to keep the game going so that they they're going to
- 1:48:34have to have something of a, you know, extra sitting around to be
- 1:48:39able to keep this game moving. I.
- 1:48:43Mean I think. They're go ahead.
- 1:48:45D shops, anyways, they might have the minis because that
- 1:48:48could like people could buy the minis and use it on D&D stuff,
- 1:48:52couldn't they? So they might have the minis and
- 1:48:55the game as well, yeah. When I went to the the game shop
- 1:48:59that I frequent to try and get them to to get on board for the
- 1:49:04the RPG, they actually weren't interested in the RPG, but we're
- 1:49:08interested in the figures and the owner said that people have
- 1:49:11been asking for these types of things.
- 1:49:15I know myself as. So I guess my point is that you
- 1:49:18never know me As a fan of Dungeons and Dragons, that was
- 1:49:24the big appeal of the Mythic Legions line, was seeing figures
- 1:49:28that I was like, wow, you know, this is cooler than any D&D
- 1:49:31figures that I had ever seen, you know?
- 1:49:33So that's what got me into Mythic Legions in the 1st place.
- 1:49:37So I could see it going either way, you know?
- 1:49:41My question is, if they do stock up on stuff, will they be seen
- 1:49:46as official retailers as well? Will they be, you know what I
- 1:49:49mean? There's so much potential there
- 1:49:51for like over here in particular elemental games and stuff.
- 1:49:55They stock a lot of paints and, and D&D stuff.
- 1:49:59Like I think it'd be really interesting for them to like to
- 1:50:03stock up on stuff. They've got the fan base,
- 1:50:05they've got the the interest. But in doing so, would they then
- 1:50:08be a retailer? And then does that open the door
- 1:50:11in in maybe them becoming sellers again in the future, you
- 1:50:15know, for future waves? I know there's a lot of
- 1:50:18potential there to really expand the brand.
- 1:50:20I'm guessing that that kind of depends how well the figures
- 1:50:23sell from that particular retailer whether they would want
- 1:50:26to continue, doesn't it? But, and let's be real, they'd
- 1:50:29probably sell out. Yeah, I can see the figures just
- 1:50:34been available because through the the normal networks that
- 1:50:37we're used to because, because people want them in their
- 1:50:41collections. Just even, you know, not just
- 1:50:43for the game, you know, I think those core figures are awesome.
- 1:50:47And then the the unlocks people are, they're all characters.
- 1:50:50So people are going to want them.
- 1:50:52You know, the monster builder, it's going to be a popular one
- 1:50:55if it goes to retail, for example, the Paladins, they'll
- 1:50:58be, people will be crazy about them.
- 1:51:01I think all of them and even the goblin, you know.
- 1:51:07I think Joe touches on a very good point there as well.
- 1:51:09I think, you know, there are going to be D&D fans out there
- 1:51:12who aren't aware of mythics, maybe not loads, but there'll be
- 1:51:16some. And if they see these figures,
- 1:51:18yeah, they absolutely will see the archetypes.
- 1:51:21They're familiar with them and probably love a figure.
- 1:51:25Obviously, yeah. I think it also may depend on
- 1:51:30how the store presents the game. So if they're if they're if
- 1:51:36there's room for them to have a set up and be able to have like
- 1:51:40a mythic encounter to show what it could look like, then they're
- 1:51:44going to be able to sell the figures.
- 1:51:46But if you're just hanging these figures, you know, on a shelf
- 1:51:49next to the game, people are going to go, well, what are
- 1:51:52these action figures for next? I mean, I'm talking to like
- 1:51:55someone brand new walking into the store that's never hurt or
- 1:51:58like I'm because we're the goal with these things in the store
- 1:52:01is going to be more to catch the new customer to build the new
- 1:52:05fan the next the next wave, the next generation of fans.
- 1:52:09So it it really is going to come down to how the retailer of
- 1:52:13whoever selling the game is going to push push it
- 1:52:16themselves. Yeah, we, we talked about it on
- 1:52:20the one of our episodes of the Mythic Enablers that Jeremy
- 1:52:24mentioned when they went to Gamma that a lot of people were
- 1:52:28coming by and they wanted to buy the Zinjar statue.
- 1:52:32And it would be cool to see them do like a, a retail like sell to
- 1:52:36retail kind of run. Maybe not to the same quality or
- 1:52:39you know, they can manipulate it however they need to, but some
- 1:52:42kind of standees or like because for me with mythics, a lot of
- 1:52:46the what you know, hooked me was seeing some of the designs of
- 1:52:48like the orcs and the goblin and the goblins and the dwarfs.
- 1:52:53So like having those, you know, have some presents in the store
- 1:52:57would be more eye-catching than just seeing another box, you
- 1:52:59know, on a shelf. I think that would be kind of
- 1:53:02cool. I I saw someone the other day
- 1:53:04was, I think it was hedgehog was showing us an old school like
- 1:53:10super powers cut out of Superman, and it had to been
- 1:53:13like 4 1/2 five foot tall. And I'll and when as you're
- 1:53:18discussing that, why all I could think of is I would love like
- 1:53:21the cardboard cut out standees of of different characters like
- 1:53:26done in in maybe like in a, a drawing style, maybe not the the
- 1:53:31figure itself, but you know, imagine the standees just now.
- 1:53:35Bumped up to 5 foot. Tall or something?
- 1:53:39Boom, enabled. Run by Rich.
- 1:53:42Yeah. Can we get families of Rich's
- 1:53:44drawings? That would be awesome.
- 1:53:47Wouldn't you charge for them? It's fine, that works.
- 1:53:51So we're heading into the last couple of minutes here Rich.
- 1:53:55I've been kind of monopolising a little bit from our side.
- 1:53:57So anything else you want to get off your chest here?
- 1:54:01I'll comment on Rob in the post. A comment about UK retailers, if
- 1:54:06anyone is based in the UK, even with import duties etcetera,
- 1:54:11etcetera from America, it's still going to be cheaper than
- 1:54:14buying them from the UK retailers.
- 1:54:16Because you say UKUK retailers to just match the dollar amount
- 1:54:20in pounds, they don't account for the different.
- 1:54:24Yeah. So, you know, if you're, if
- 1:54:28you're debating when to get the stuff getting on the Kickstarter
- 1:54:30now, it's going to be cheaper. Yeah.
- 1:54:34The Germans. And the secondary markets as
- 1:54:38well. Some of the rising sun's wave is
- 1:54:41crazy on eBay. Awesome, yes.
- 1:54:44Insane on the UK side of things, Absolutely yeah.
- 1:54:48Well, it's insane because of that.
- 1:54:50Richard Jones, 1234. On to do with me, nothing to do
- 1:54:55with. Me.
- 1:55:03Like the beer? Garrett girls done these.
- 1:55:07Saint Pauli girls. Can I ask a good question for
- 1:55:11everybody? And John, I know you bought
- 1:55:13quite a few, but the stands, so obviously, you know, 6 stands
- 1:55:17for a really cheap price is a great deal.
- 1:55:19And it's like I should probably get a lot more of those.
- 1:55:22But then I've got like 600 Legions figures on display and
- 1:55:24it's like that's probably too many to buy.
- 1:55:26Are you guys getting? Yeah, yeah, I'm super excited
- 1:55:32for that, for that offering. The the big stands are good for
- 1:55:37like ogres or or larger figures, but for what we need to do here
- 1:55:45or even just display purposes, the the stands are that that
- 1:55:50that's a that's a winner of a pack like NECA locally.
- 1:55:54What is it NECA does? Curtis, how many are in those
- 1:55:57NECA packs? The stands just the the circle
- 1:55:59ones. I've never bought the stands.
- 1:56:01I've I've bought the the head stands so.
- 1:56:04I think there's like. In ones I.
- 1:56:06Want to say there's like 6? I think you're right.
- 1:56:10I think it was kind of recently. Is it like $6?
- 1:56:14Yeah, it's like 10 or $12.00, something like that.
- 1:56:17So but these are nice because they depict specific actions.
- 1:56:22So for the game purpose you can utilise them for for multiple
- 1:56:28purposes or just to have the stand alone.
- 1:56:32I would have preferred them to be squared to where you could
- 1:56:35like kind of all lock them in so there's no negative space.
- 1:56:38But that's that's my only minor gripe and that's super minor at.
- 1:56:43Best. Yeah, I, I, I think they're
- 1:56:48great as well. I'm getting a couple of extra
- 1:56:50packs. I won't choose every figure on
- 1:56:52them, but there's some figures that you know, maybe you want
- 1:56:55them to stand out on the shelf a bit more or something that maybe
- 1:57:00needed a little bit more help than others standing up.
- 1:57:02So I love the fiery one there. It's really cool, especially.
- 1:57:11I I am not buying any extras because I spent a small fortune
- 1:57:15on Kaiser stands for all my figures, but because I have an
- 1:57:21enormous collection and they're all on stands because I don't
- 1:57:25like figures falling over. I tried the NECA stands early on
- 1:57:29when I was collecting but I I also live in the desert so when
- 1:57:33it get really hot during the summer just those little pegs in
- 1:57:36the foot would not hold the the figures up.
- 1:57:39So I've still got a big bag of those somewhere because of
- 1:57:44course I'm dumb and just bought like a huge amount of them and
- 1:57:48then they were what I wanted. So I was like, well, to go in a
- 1:57:51bag in a closet and then. This is my favourite thing I
- 1:57:56think from the Kickstarter of an extras points and because
- 1:58:01there's a there's a 75 coins. In the bag 80. 585 sorry, 85 and
- 1:58:08we have to find some way of eventually using these as
- 1:58:11currency allegiance can't even no.
- 1:58:16That might that might work for you guys.
- 1:58:21You could trade, you could trade all your, you know, whatever
- 1:58:25ones that you don't want the the gob Hollis looks and get the
- 1:58:30main copper is is is the dwarf one.
- 1:58:33You got to do them like poker chips where you trade real money
- 1:58:36for these and then then that's the currency, yeah.
- 1:58:43They need to. This would be the one thing that
- 1:58:44they should announce the quantity of them that exists and
- 1:58:47then it would create like a market demand.
- 1:58:49There's only 1000 silver Stag or platinum Stag.
- 1:58:53Yeah, there you go. And Tidy will be the banker,
- 1:58:59kind of is the banker of mythos as it is the bank roller of
- 1:59:02mythos. They're going.
- 1:59:04To keep making these too though, right?
- 1:59:05This is an exclusive. No, the claims are.
- 1:59:10Well, we have hit the hour or pretty much Curtis has jumped
- 1:59:14off to the next stream. Thank you all for joining,
- 1:59:20remember. Stick it in your may fix.
- 1:59:27Have a great time, anyone want to say it before we go?
- 1:59:30Thank you for having us. Everybody, yeah, thanks for
- 1:59:32having us. Cheers in.
- 1:59:34The comments. Spend more money on the
- 1:59:36Kickstarter, yeah? Yeah, let's try to get this
- 1:59:39thing funded, guys. Love.
- 1:59:40You thanks guys. See ya.
- 1:59:45Cheers.
