- 0:09Speaker 1: a vaginal podcast Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. Paul is out.
- 0:20Speaker 1: He actually traveled to New York today to appeal the
- 0:23Speaker 1: Jamar Chase non appeal. He wants to Chase to be
- 0:27Speaker 1: able to play. He can't believe that the League upheld this.
- 0:30Speaker 2: But he's they're setting a real precedent.
- 0:32Speaker 1: With I guess this if according to Paul, now this
- 0:36Speaker 1: is the precedent, so the next time they have to
- 0:39Speaker 1: do it right, because the precedent has been said.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Like my dream is to go to an Nancy Championship game.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I never been to one.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Like that to me is you've never been to one.
- 0:46Speaker 1: No, not even a Super Bowl either. I don't know.
- 0:49Speaker 2: It's pretty so hard.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Nobody that I know, but at least not on my
- 0:53Speaker 4: side think but I.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Don't know who.
- 0:57Speaker 3: You don't know, like if it's kind of fruity or
- 0:59Speaker 3: you're like probably a girl fart.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Nick writes in from Ohio, and by the way, if
- 1:03Speaker 1: you need drywall in Ohio, Fayette Drywall, one of the
- 1:06Speaker 1: area's longest lasting contractor, since nineteen eighty four, celebrating forty years.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I can say that because they're not a competitor in Ohio.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Just give Nick a little shout out, not saying someone
- 1:16Speaker 1: needs to get injured. I don't even know what he's
- 1:18Speaker 1: talking about. Don't use this drywall the emails like the
- 1:22Speaker 1: dry z is Patriots Unfiltered.

- 1:31Speaker 1: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:35Speaker 1: at Jillette Stadium. It's Evan, it's Paul, it's me, it's Deuce,
- 1:39Speaker 1: it's Matt and the booth, and we're talking Patriots against
- 1:43Speaker 1: the Bengals. Big news broke yesterday. Joe Burrow full participant
- 1:49Speaker 1: in practice, Joe Flacco limited. So what the hell does
- 1:55Speaker 1: it all mean? We're going to talk about it. Does
- 1:59Speaker 1: it change anything in your mind in terms of, you know,
- 2:02Speaker 1: the outcome of the game. That's all on the table,
- 2:05Speaker 1: And of course we'll do our picks when we reveal
- 2:08Speaker 1: what we think the Patriots are going to do. So
- 2:11Speaker 1: what's up, guys, were monitoring, We're monitoring. Wenned when you
- 2:16Speaker 1: heard this.
- 2:17Speaker 2: No, because friend of the program. Trags gave me the.
- 2:21Speaker 6: Whole beat, the little heads up tell how Evan comes
- 2:24Speaker 6: in and he's like, guys, don't tell anybody, but I
- 2:26Speaker 6: just heard from since he did the Burrough's gonna practice.
- 2:29Speaker 6: And then like outside you hear Dan Roach like talking about, Hey,
- 2:32Speaker 6: you know, I just heard from Mike Petragley and he said.
- 2:37Speaker 2: He texted me and Barth in our group chat that
- 2:40Speaker 2: we have with Trags. And the next thing I know,
- 2:43Speaker 2: Dan Roach has the same intel.
- 2:45Speaker 1: But I guess the.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Trags is exact words were that the sentiment had changed
- 2:51Speaker 2: in Cincinnati yesterday about Joe Burrow. They all kind of
- 2:55Speaker 2: arrived for their availability and everything, and all of a
- 2:57Speaker 2: sudden there was rumblings that Joe Burrow was closer than
- 3:03Speaker 2: maybe they had dot to playing, and so everybody kind
- 3:06Speaker 2: of went into a tailspin from there.
- 3:09Speaker 1: So let's get right into it. If he plays, does
- 3:12Speaker 1: that change anything for you?
- 3:14Speaker 6: Yes, I mean I think he's a I mean I
- 3:16Speaker 6: think it increases the chance that the game it might
- 3:19Speaker 6: be competitive and more of a shootout, you know.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Because Joe Flacco hasn't been able to move the well
- 3:23Speaker 1: he has. But I think Joe Burrow is still better
- 3:25Speaker 1: than him. He's hurt. Now he should have banged up,
- 3:27Speaker 1: but when.
- 3:28Speaker 3: He played with that injury, they only scored twelve points.
- 3:30Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I think the Patriots would still be
- 3:32Speaker 6: the favorites to win the game, and I'd still like
- 3:34Speaker 6: their chances, but I mean I wouldn't.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I kind of like it.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I mean, it's give a little juice to the game.
- 3:39Speaker 6: You don't get to see Joe Burrow get out there.
- 3:41Speaker 6: I just I think the question that and I should
- 3:43Speaker 6: say too, I saw a report I think it was
- 3:44Speaker 6: Ian rap sheet, rapaport, rapshet, you know, said Zach Taylor
- 3:48Speaker 6: talked this morning, and he still seemed a little bit on.
- 3:51Speaker 6: He didn't know, like he's like, we're still kind of
- 3:52Speaker 6: feeling it out. Maybe he's playing games, maybe not. But
- 3:55Speaker 6: they do have a Thursday game right after, so is he,
- 3:57Speaker 6: you know, ready to go Sunday?
- 4:00Speaker 3: And said it, I think that's how I read it,
- 4:01Speaker 3: and uh, you know, I was like, you guys, just
- 4:05Speaker 3: sort of seeing this stuff unfold, just it. It makes
- 4:09Speaker 3: sense to me that they're gonna play him, and I
- 4:12Speaker 3: think Zach Taylor just wants to make sure he makes
- 4:14Speaker 3: it through and he's gonna be you know, before he
- 4:16Speaker 3: says no, he's starting.
- 4:17Speaker 1: You know, he'll want to make sure he gets the
- 4:19Speaker 1: week and then.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Then you got to activate him. And you know, I
- 4:22Speaker 3: think I think he'll play. But you know, in terms
- 4:26Speaker 3: of your question, Fred, it doesn't change my pick, and
- 4:29Speaker 3: it probably doesn't even change my score. But I would
- 4:32Speaker 3: say that I didn't give Cincinnati any chance to win
- 4:35Speaker 3: the game, and I would give him a puncher's chance
- 4:38Speaker 3: depending on how effective Borrow can be. I find it
- 4:41Speaker 3: hard to believe that he would be really ready to
- 4:44Speaker 3: play and without his binkie in chase. I give him
- 4:51Speaker 3: a puncher's chance just because it's Joe Burrow and he's
- 4:54Speaker 3: maniacally competitive and all that and good. Yeah, no, he's
- 4:57Speaker 3: obviously very good. But here's the scenario that I was
- 5:01Speaker 3: talking about yesterday with a couple of guys. What if
- 5:05Speaker 3: it unfolds and it's a typical Patriots game and the
- 5:08Speaker 3: Bengals get the ball and Joe Borrow is back and
- 5:10Speaker 3: they go right down and make it seven nothing. Don't
- 5:12Speaker 3: anythink like the Bengals themselves, they're not going to be saying.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Well, that's what the Patriots do every week.
- 5:17Speaker 3: To Patriots would be like Joey's back a shot a
- 5:23Speaker 3: lot of Maybe they get a little juice from that,
- 5:24Speaker 3: a little lift and they have a puncher's chance. I
- 5:27Speaker 3: look the other side of the ball, and I see
- 5:29Speaker 3: this should be a game that the Patriots score a
- 5:31Speaker 3: lot of.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I go after him. Yeah, we talked about on his
- 5:35Speaker 1: foot happens, He's.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Going to probably have a steel plate in his thing,
- 5:38Speaker 3: so that won't matter.
- 5:39Speaker 2: You think so, I would think we talked about this
- 5:42Speaker 2: on our preview that will be posted eventually today. But
- 5:45Speaker 2: the Bengals are are sort of on the ropes right now,
- 5:48Speaker 2: Like they don't have Jamar Chase is suspended, Trey Henderson's
- 5:53Speaker 2: not playing there three and seven. The vibe is not
- 5:55Speaker 2: great right now in Cincinnati, but that vibe changes when
- 5:59Speaker 2: you get Joe Burrow.
- 6:00Speaker 3: That's my punch, doubt.
- 6:02Speaker 1: You know, you've got two games left with Baltimore, So like,
- 6:05Speaker 1: if you can get on that roll and beat them twice.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Practice, it's an outside chance, but it's a chance they controlled.
- 6:11Speaker 3: You know, they control it because if they can win
- 6:13Speaker 3: all the they win the rest of their games, they're
- 6:14Speaker 3: going to win the division more than likely.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yeah, well, there's.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Still three games back in Pittsburgh.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think ten and seven will win the division.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yeah maybe, I just I don't think it changes a
- 6:25Speaker 2: ton about how you defend them, really because their offense
- 6:28Speaker 2: has kind of been the same, like all that don't
- 6:30Speaker 2: exactly the same.
- 6:31Speaker 1: In terms of like what they do. Let's Flacco at
- 6:35Speaker 1: full health is kind of the same guy as Burrow.
- 6:37Speaker 1: It's just not as good, but it's the same styles
- 6:40Speaker 1: like once a mobile quarterback and.
- 6:42Speaker 2: The other one is well, I think is definitely I
- 6:44Speaker 2: mean exactly, well you don't know that for a fact,
- 6:49Speaker 2: but he's a much.
- 6:51Speaker 1: He's gonna be running with a steel plate.
- 6:53Speaker 3: And well that's I mean, that's the toll.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Limit somehow, right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know anybody is
- 7:01Speaker 2: more mobile than Joe Flacco. So, like the difference between
- 7:04Speaker 2: having Joe Flacco standing there as a statue and Joe
- 7:07Speaker 2: Burrow being able to move even seventy five percent as
- 7:10Speaker 2: much as he normally can is a big difference. But
- 7:14Speaker 2: in terms of you know, they're still not going to
- 7:16Speaker 2: have Chase, it's still going to just be t Higgins.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Like none of the like splits suggest that they totally
- 7:23Speaker 2: revamped their offense for Joe Flacco, Like they're still in
- 7:25Speaker 2: the shotgun just as much as they were with Burrow,
- 7:28Speaker 2: you know, like it just it doesn't really change a
- 7:30Speaker 2: whole lot, I don't think in terms of how you're
- 7:32Speaker 2: going to game plan the supporting cast and the and
- 7:35Speaker 2: the weapons and the system and all that kind of stuff.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I think the biggest X factor though, is Flacco is
- 7:42Speaker 2: terrible under pressure. He can't move. So if Joe Burrow
- 7:45Speaker 2: is just at least a little bit more mobile and
- 7:47Speaker 2: he's a significantly better quarterback under pressure, then those two
- 7:51Speaker 2: things can really change.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Let me out to me, it would be similar to
- 7:56Speaker 3: the difference between just in terms of mobility, Brady and
- 8:00Speaker 3: bled Cell. I don't think he the one of them
- 8:03Speaker 3: will be considered to be a mobile quarterback. But who
- 8:05Speaker 3: would you rather have a lot of pressure on Brady
- 8:08Speaker 3: and his ability to move around and navigate.
- 8:10Speaker 1: That Brady Burrow? Yeah? Or yeah? So that's good that.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I mean Burrow is more athletic than Brady.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, but I.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Would call him this state.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Sure still well, I don't know we know that if
- 8:23Speaker 2: we know that yet, but I hear what I'm saying.
- 8:24Speaker 3: If Fred's wright and he can't move, right, he still
- 8:28Speaker 3: is a guy who's moved around the pocket his whole career.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, if he's if he's a hundred, if he's
- 8:33Speaker 2: truly one hundred percent healthy, though he can move like
- 8:36Speaker 2: he's Burrow, I wouldn't call him a dual threat quarterback,
- 8:39Speaker 2: but he's a extension play extension quarterback, your true run. Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I just don't think there's any chance he's going to
- 8:45Speaker 3: be one hundred percent.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I just think the interesting part about it, too, from
- 8:49Speaker 2: a Bengals angle, is they have two games in five
- 8:52Speaker 2: days because they play on Thanksgiving, So is that really
- 8:56Speaker 2: the best time to bring back your superstar quarterback is
- 8:59Speaker 2: to have him played this game on Sunday and then
- 9:01Speaker 2: turn around and play again on.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I heard, and you know, maybe our football team's listening,
- 9:06Speaker 1: but they thought this is the game because they're not
- 9:09Speaker 1: worried about the Patriots pass rush. Oh put that where
- 9:14Speaker 1: he was going, but that a bulletin board. Put that
- 9:18Speaker 1: on your bulletin board. Patriots, Well, this is the game.
- 9:20Speaker 1: They want to bring them back, less pressure.
- 9:23Speaker 2: But when you come off like a serious injury like
- 9:25Speaker 2: that since week two and then you're not going to
- 9:28Speaker 2: play him this week, and then not play him next week. Like,
- 9:30Speaker 2: if he's back, he's back. So I just wonder if
- 9:33Speaker 2: the Thursday night game for them ends up factoring into
- 9:36Speaker 2: this because he's he's not gonna have a quick turn.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Right now, Like if Flacco can't play, I mean, they
- 9:42Speaker 1: might not have much of a choice.
- 9:45Speaker 3: If they lose to the Patriots. What's the difference in Thanksgiving? Right,
- 9:50Speaker 3: they have to win. They have to win them all.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Nine and eight isn't going.
- 9:52Speaker 1: To They're pushing their chips to the middle of the table.
- 9:55Speaker 3: I mean it's a risk.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I don't think blos injury is is like the illitating
- 10:00Speaker 2: to him that he's not going to play. He might
- 10:02Speaker 2: play have to play hurt, but I think he would
- 10:05Speaker 2: still continue to play.
- 10:06Speaker 6: I like the culture salvage angle of you know, like
- 10:09Speaker 6: we just need to get something positive going right now.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Like I think that's an interesting approach.
- 10:14Speaker 3: And if you're Zach Taylor, I mean you're probably coaching
- 10:17Speaker 3: for your.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Yeah, for Zach Taylor, it's obvious, which is why I
- 10:20Speaker 2: think it's like, doesn't that decision have to come above
- 10:23Speaker 2: Zach Taylor, because like Zach Taylor is coaching for his job,
- 10:27Speaker 2: so he's gonna say yeah, right, I mean, I would
- 10:31Speaker 2: job this is one of those that the President's involved,
- 10:34Speaker 2: the GMS involved, ownership might be involved.
- 10:37Speaker 3: And it's kind of a guess a little little buzz though.
- 10:41Speaker 1: And when the PA when the game, it'll help the
- 10:44Speaker 1: argument about the schedule. All of a sudden, this game
- 10:46Speaker 1: wasn't as easy because Joe Burrow was.
- 10:48Speaker 6: Playing right right, knocked off another's superstar quarterback, No problem, Hey.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Beat Joe beat Joe Burrow for the second time in Yeah,
- 10:58Speaker 1: that's right.
- 10:59Speaker 3: I mean they were do I remember last time he
- 11:01Speaker 3: was here.
- 11:01Speaker 6: They were fairly competitive. I remember, like a Marcus Jones interception.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Maybe it was like.
- 11:05Speaker 3: The games that the score actually should have won the game.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Remandre fumbled inside the ten, inside the two minute warning.
- 11:14Speaker 1: The encyclopedia, if.
- 11:16Speaker 3: You look at the go back and if you did
- 11:18Speaker 3: the evan of the you know, the sort of forensic
- 11:21Speaker 3: uh you know, autopsy of this game, the Bengals should
- 11:25Speaker 3: have won it.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Buy about five touchdowns, right, so the pick six.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Was Yeah, in the second half, Marcus Jones just jumped
- 11:31Speaker 2: to a hitch and return it for a touchdown. And
- 11:34Speaker 2: then yeah, remondros Steve, they were driving with a chance
- 11:38Speaker 2: to take the lead.
- 11:38Speaker 3: We're going to take the lead within the two minute warning.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I think it was fifty five seconds left. I just
- 11:42Speaker 2: saw the clip, yes, last night, somebody posted it, and yeah,
- 11:45Speaker 2: he fumbled at like the ten yard.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Line, but the Bengals had something like two hundred more
- 11:49Speaker 3: yards of offense and all kinds of squandered.
- 11:55Speaker 2: There was nobody he like the that was just it
- 11:57Speaker 2: was Christmas, oh right, I think it is christmasas Eve
- 12:01Speaker 2: eve Day. Yeah, and it was just it was freezing.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Block those games out. I'm hoping Burrow plays. Let's go,
- 12:09Speaker 1: let's go.
- 12:10Speaker 3: I kind of do you too. There's a big part
- 12:11Speaker 3: of me that just would love to have an easy win.
- 12:14Speaker 3: And I don't know easy, but you know.
- 12:17Speaker 6: And we have an easy It's going to be an
- 12:19Speaker 6: easy win either way because the Patriots are going to score.
- 12:21Speaker 6: And the Patriots should score at least thirty five points
- 12:24Speaker 6: in this game, probably more now. And I just don't
- 12:28Speaker 6: see the Bengals without all those guys being able to
- 12:31Speaker 6: keep up.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I love it.
- 12:32Speaker 6: In our preview video, Evan was, you know, talking about
- 12:35Speaker 6: just how they struggle on defense to really get lined
- 12:38Speaker 6: up and just to you know, and more means like
- 12:40Speaker 6: Josh McDaniels is going to be ready to cook and
- 12:44Speaker 6: just get his guys into position to to be successful
- 12:47Speaker 6: and to hopefully have some easy plays.
- 12:49Speaker 2: There's like one in every three players there's a guy
- 12:51Speaker 2: with his hands up be looking around like who had him?
- 12:55Speaker 3: You know, I watch the whole game, just like the
- 12:57Speaker 3: clips on on red Zone, but it at least three
- 13:00Speaker 3: or four times they showed a third and sixteen or
- 13:03Speaker 3: third and twelve or third and twenty one, and a
- 13:07Speaker 3: little like Mason Rudolf flipping the flat to somebody who
- 13:10Speaker 3: gets the first down like it was amazing. A couple
- 13:14Speaker 3: one of them was to the Washington Yes, which they
- 13:20Speaker 3: think like, maybe he'll break some tackles. Oh no, he
- 13:24Speaker 3: didn't have to break tackles until he got the first down.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Then he broke tackles and ended up making like twenty
- 13:28Speaker 3: more yards throwing people out. Well, Like, I couldn't believe
- 13:31Speaker 3: how many times they threw the ball ten twelve yards
- 13:34Speaker 3: short of the sticks and just easily converted first downs.
- 13:38Speaker 3: It happened three or four times in the second half.
- 13:40Speaker 3: This is bad defense. Yeah, this is a bad, bad defense.
- 13:45Speaker 6: Imagine the Jets scored thirty nine thirty nine.
- 13:51Speaker 1: So in terms of the Patriots health the ball.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Maybe they scored twenty.
- 13:54Speaker 1: We got our first participation report of the week yesterday.
- 13:58Speaker 1: How are we looking.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Overlooking Mikey get ready to come back?
- 14:03Speaker 1: It was all about Joe Barry. I mentioned that in
- 14:04Speaker 1: the preview.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Actually, yea, wellmondre Remandre is still limited.
- 14:10Speaker 6: So but but Booty and Ellis you know, to the
- 14:14Speaker 6: big names that that have been out.
- 14:16Speaker 1: You're surprised that Booty is full participation. It must have
- 14:20Speaker 1: been a minor hamstring, right, was a couple of weeks ago. Yeah,
- 14:23Speaker 1: a couple of.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Grade one you know, said I was going to say,
- 14:29Speaker 2: you know, he kind of told the whole world.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Follows. Sounded like they could have played last week.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Yeah, Thursday night game. I think Booty might have had
- 14:38Speaker 2: a chance.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Yeah good, good, good week to get them back though.
- 14:40Speaker 6: I think you know everything you guys said about the
- 14:42Speaker 6: Bengals defense and Booty, a guy pushed the ball down
- 14:45Speaker 6: the field, makes some big plays, you know, get a lead,
- 14:47Speaker 6: try to control the temple of the game.
- 14:49Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, there's no doubt their offense has been
- 14:51Speaker 2: better with Booty on the field. And you know, their
- 14:54Speaker 2: their efficiency e p A is almost double with booty
- 14:59Speaker 2: on the field in the passing game compared to when
- 15:01Speaker 2: he doesn't play. And then also, you know, a Stevenson.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I know we're all excited about what we've seen from
- 15:06Speaker 2: Trevon Henderson, but he's been playing eighty two percent of
- 15:09Speaker 2: the snaps since Stevenson went out with that injury three
- 15:12Speaker 2: weeks ago. It's just not sustainable, you know, not for
- 15:15Speaker 2: the back of his size and like his skill set.
- 15:18Speaker 2: So you don't want to see that really with any
- 15:20Speaker 2: running back, you don't want them playing eighty two percent
- 15:22Speaker 2: of the snaps. So getting Stevenson back, and I know
- 15:26Speaker 2: that everyone's going to be up in arms if he
- 15:28Speaker 2: plays more than Henderson, but you know it's still going
- 15:31Speaker 2: to be, you know, hopefully a little bit of a
- 15:32Speaker 2: committee where you have maybe sixty forty or fifty five
- 15:36Speaker 2: forty five or Something's.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Just fantasy football.
- 15:38Speaker 6: Yeah, So, like, do people not understand that you need
- 15:40Speaker 6: two running backs to like make it work and be
- 15:42Speaker 6: a really good team. I mean, if you're going with
- 15:44Speaker 6: one running back down the stretch and into the playoffs,
- 15:47Speaker 6: it's gonna be tough.
- 15:48Speaker 2: It's asking a lot. I mean, what this Pinals team
- 15:50Speaker 2: is doing.
- 15:50Speaker 6: Stephen Jackson like bringing him in because you're desperate just
- 15:53Speaker 6: to have a little bit of depth.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I mean, it's I think fans when they have opinions
- 16:01Speaker 1: at the at the front end, qualify themselves. I'm a
- 16:04Speaker 1: better Yeah, you know, no, it's it's it's so true.
- 16:09Speaker 3: I mean, I like, we're I don't do fantasy football.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I don't bet.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I just watched the Patriots and the NFL, and you know,
- 16:17Speaker 3: I don't. I I just I wish people could grasp that.
- 16:20Speaker 6: But you know, look, I respect people are thinking about money,
- 16:23Speaker 6: thinking about fantasy.
- 16:24Speaker 3: You're coming down to your playoffs, and they they're interested
- 16:26Speaker 3: in that. But to me, if it'd be different if
- 16:29Speaker 3: it was a different kind of caliber player. You know,
- 16:33Speaker 3: there's a lot of teams that well, not a lot,
- 16:35Speaker 3: but there's a handful of guys around the league. You know, Philly,
- 16:38Speaker 3: you know last year won by leaning on one guy
- 16:41Speaker 3: for the most part. You know, but that's rare. Like
- 16:44Speaker 3: most teams don't have Christian McCaffrey or say Kwan Barkley
- 16:48Speaker 3: in this in this kind of a scenario, isn't it
- 16:52Speaker 3: better to sort of you know, like ride the hot hand,
- 16:56Speaker 3: you know, go with matchups, have different personnel groupings and
- 16:59Speaker 3: package is. I think it opens up the playbook a
- 17:02Speaker 3: little bit more to you to have different options.
- 17:04Speaker 6: I'm excited to get Stevenson back, I mean just seeing
- 17:07Speaker 6: what they've done to add that back into the equation.
- 17:09Speaker 3: And you know, I know his fumbles have been an issue.
- 17:12Speaker 6: But at the same time, I just think this team
- 17:13Speaker 6: will be at its best if they get a fully
- 17:16Speaker 6: functional Reminder.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I keep bringing up Hooper, but I also think teams
- 17:20Speaker 1: better if he's on the field too.
- 17:21Speaker 6: Yeah, yep, so he was limited and he was he
- 17:24Speaker 6: was out there yesterday, Red Jersey, Red Jersey.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the next checkpoint.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Probably working through.
- 17:30Speaker 3: So not not crazy to think he could play right Like,
- 17:32Speaker 3: I mean, he's just probably.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Now he does football activities, and if he goes through
- 17:36Speaker 2: the football activities and he doesn't have any symptoms, then
- 17:39Speaker 2: he goes on to full contact. And then if he
- 17:41Speaker 2: does that with no symptoms and he's.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Cleared, there we go.
- 17:43Speaker 2: So today will be the the speed periods where they'll
- 17:48Speaker 2: hit a little bit. So I'll find that out.
- 17:50Speaker 1: All right. Weather's still going to be mild. Yeah, lest
- 17:54Speaker 1: I checked. It looks like a great day.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it looks pretty warm for this time of year.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, where you're going to eat in the jungle.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'm not going to be there until about nine thirty
- 18:04Speaker 1: at night. I'm not traveling with the team. Oh I
- 18:07Speaker 1: have to go commercial. Oh oh the things they got
- 18:10Speaker 1: to do on Saturday.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Okay, this is good to know. Things we all would
- 18:13Speaker 2: have been looking for.
- 18:13Speaker 3: You line chili for Freddy?
- 18:16Speaker 1: No, is that the thing to do?
- 18:18Speaker 2: And since, yeah, it's a mistake, Yeah, garbage.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Well, I mean I wouldn't go that far working Sunday
- 18:25Speaker 3: on tomatoes.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, yeah, yeah.
- 18:29Speaker 3: I would not do that the day before I had
- 18:30Speaker 3: to work a football game. That would be oh we did.
- 18:33Speaker 6: It would be a bad It's still my nightmare every
- 18:36Speaker 6: time I run into the press box bathroom during the game.
- 18:38Speaker 6: That like having to saddle up on that stall, like
- 18:40Speaker 6: that would be one of the darkest places I can ever.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Imagine being during during a football game.
- 18:44Speaker 1: The only thing, the only thing more overrated than Skyline
- 18:47Speaker 1: Chili is Parente Brothers in Pittsburgh. I like.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Good sandwich place.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Yeah, overrated. I like bread. It's just like I went
- 18:58Speaker 1: there and like it's like this is what everyone's making
- 19:01Speaker 1: a big deal about.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I'm not a big skyline chili guy. But it's pretty
- 19:07Speaker 2: far down the list of things, you know. But wings
- 19:11Speaker 2: in Buffalo?
- 19:12Speaker 1: Is there anything Wings in Buffalo are all that's not
- 19:15Speaker 1: over it? Not over it?
- 19:16Speaker 6: Anything else that went since Eta for food wise that
- 19:19Speaker 6: they're popular or common or no.
- 19:22Speaker 1: No, just chili over the border to Kentucky and good
- 19:26Speaker 1: barbecue very popular.
- 19:28Speaker 6: We have a good barbecue there once, fred I was
- 19:31Speaker 6: with you. I don't remember the place.
- 19:33Speaker 1: There's this one place that's a place in Kentucky. Yeah,
- 19:37Speaker 1: it was like that home style restaurant that everyone goes to.
- 19:42Speaker 7: Bag.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Remember there's like a chicken place too.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I forget what it's like fried chicken. Yeah, I forget
- 19:50Speaker 2: what it's called. But that one's also popular.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Ye All right, back to Farry. There's Burrows zipping it
- 19:58Speaker 1: around on our TV right now. Back to football. No,
- 20:01Speaker 1: it's gonna be a great, terrible of really a lot
- 20:03Speaker 1: of good matchups this weekend. A lot I thought last
- 20:07Speaker 1: week was great. Yeah, No, a lot of intriguing good matchups.
- 20:11Speaker 3: I just love that Indie India case.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I love that game.
- 20:13Speaker 6: I just love the whole storyline of it, of Indy,
- 20:18Speaker 6: everything that they represent right now, Daniel Jones everything he
- 20:20Speaker 6: represents being one of the top teams in the AFC
- 20:24Speaker 6: Kansas City feeling like their backs are against the wall
- 20:26Speaker 6: and you need a win. But at home, so you
- 20:27Speaker 6: get a you know, an indie team that I think
- 20:30Speaker 6: people are still feeling out. How are they away from
- 20:32Speaker 6: a dome? How are they Maybe I don't know what
- 20:33Speaker 6: the weather's gonna be like in Kansas City, but maybe
- 20:35Speaker 6: I mean it's obviously not inside at least, But you know,
- 20:38Speaker 6: what's that team gonna look like? Is that a team
- 20:39Speaker 6: that we talk about going to Denver going on the
- 20:42Speaker 6: road in the playoffs? Is Indy put together some wins
- 20:44Speaker 6: outside to say, hey, you know, I mean Jonathan Taylor
- 20:46Speaker 6: should travel theoretically, but you know does does Daniel Jones?
- 20:49Speaker 1: We'll see? Yeah, I like that match up, all right?
- 20:51Speaker 1: A five to five pass five hundred is the hotline
- 20:54Speaker 1: podcast at Patriots dot com is the email address. We
- 20:58Speaker 1: might as well jump right into it, right Sure, you
- 21:01Speaker 1: guys are going to have to go to the locker
- 21:02Speaker 1: room at some point.
- 21:03Speaker 6: I'm gonna go one fifteen and we have we also
- 21:05Speaker 6: have the co pilot question of the week. Fred Let's
- 21:07Speaker 6: I won't forget about that one coming out.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Of the break this week. Can't wait. Yeah, I can't wait,
- 21:11Speaker 1: we can't wait.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that's when I get a chance to shine.
- 21:14Speaker 1: I think you get this. I think you get this
- 21:16Speaker 1: one getting a chance to shine. You know, Paul was
- 21:19Speaker 1: out yesterday. Got a lot of emails that with Paul out,
- 21:22Speaker 1: Deuce you had a chance to talk and people were
- 21:25Speaker 1: really excited about Like, I guess it's not funny. Yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 1: that's that's nice because you know, Deuce and I had
- 21:34Speaker 1: to do, you know, the show like you and I
- 21:36Speaker 1: have to do sometimes. Yeah, even Evan was gone, and
- 21:39Speaker 1: so Deuce, you know, the spotlight was on you Fred,
- 21:43Speaker 1: you know we have something back and forth. It was
- 21:47Speaker 1: it was it.
- 21:48Speaker 6: Hot in North Carolina. Somebody called in and enjoyed our
- 21:50Speaker 6: our banter, so thank you. But yeah, I thought, you know,
- 21:53Speaker 6: I never never feel like I don't get a chance.
- 21:54Speaker 3: To take some interactions that weren't were less complimentary, but
- 21:58Speaker 3: you know, I save them.
- 21:59Speaker 6: Oh really, Paul's got his little his little parilo minions
- 22:02Speaker 6: out there.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Like I'm not listening to it because you're not on
- 22:05Speaker 3: to not get one person, not that seemingly even noticed.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I wasn't.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I just want to know when you go on with
- 22:11Speaker 2: Felger and mass when doing an hour of Felger versus
- 22:15Speaker 2: the schedule, is that like entertaining It was so funny,
- 22:20Speaker 2: you know, does he know that you can talk about
- 22:22Speaker 2: something else that isn't just picking.
- 22:26Speaker 3: That people are just gonna suck college. Yeah, I agree
- 22:28Speaker 3: with you that they've had the schedule.
- 22:29Speaker 5: But.
- 22:31Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no.
- 22:33Speaker 2: That that that's the show. The show is four hours
- 22:35Speaker 2: of Felger yelling about the schedule.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Which I'll get into it too with him. Like his
- 22:40Speaker 3: whole thing is like you you you have an opportunity
- 22:45Speaker 3: right now. You're you're a contender, you're nine and two,
- 22:48Speaker 3: you're you know, at the top of the conference. You know,
- 22:51Speaker 3: you should expect to do this. You should expec you know,
- 22:54Speaker 3: like you've had things break your way. Yeah, next year,
- 22:58Speaker 3: the schedule is going to be harder, you know, in theory.
- 23:03Speaker 3: So that's why you really have to take advantage of this.
- 23:05Speaker 3: I thought it was a lost opportunity at the trade
- 23:07Speaker 3: that well, so I'm thinking to myself, well, if you
- 23:10Speaker 3: think they're so good right now and you're lamenting not
- 23:14Speaker 3: augmenting the roster, why are you afraid of the schedule?
- 23:17Speaker 1: Next year? Do you think they was as good as
- 23:20Speaker 1: anybody now? So why next year?
- 23:22Speaker 3: If they have to play good teams, you're going to
- 23:24Speaker 3: be not not as confident.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Every time I get into the car and I turned
- 23:28Speaker 2: that show on, they're talking about the schedule. Well, it's automatic.
- 23:33Speaker 3: You wouldn't believe how many calls they get it.
- 23:36Speaker 1: It's a little spark plug for them.
- 23:38Speaker 3: I mean, but it's the issue just how they're you know,
- 23:41Speaker 3: being praised, because like, what do you want them to do?
- 23:43Speaker 3: The schedule is the schedule they took care of take
- 23:44Speaker 3: care of business.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Now you knew that this was it going.
- 23:46Speaker 3: That's what Mike says, like you are at the top
- 23:50Speaker 3: of the conference.
- 23:51Speaker 6: Who cares? Well, I don't know why you're arguing it.
- 23:54Speaker 6: I know it up well he does. You know he's
- 23:57Speaker 6: playing both sides because he knows, but he knows it true.
- 24:01Speaker 1: My whole thing with the schedule is it wouldn't be
- 24:03Speaker 1: easy if we weren't good. It's easy because we're good.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean, you know, and it's just statistically easy.
- 24:14Speaker 1: But if we were making it look the team we
- 24:16Speaker 1: were last year, this wouldn't be easy. We wouldn't be
- 24:19Speaker 1: nine to two.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Sure, but easy but in year one to be able
- 24:22Speaker 3: to play like this.
- 24:23Speaker 6: We said it all summer that this team, they don't
- 24:25Speaker 6: have all the pieces that they want right now. There
- 24:27Speaker 6: are some placeholders this year, and yes, the schedule gets
- 24:30Speaker 6: tougher next year, but they're.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Trying to be better.
- 24:32Speaker 3: And now you get a year where next year, yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 3: may confidence through the rules.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I think the team will be better. I don't know
- 24:38Speaker 1: if the record will be better, but the roster will
- 24:40Speaker 1: be better.
- 24:41Speaker 6: I agree with that it should be I mean, I
- 24:43Speaker 6: I mean, I think we got into some interesting discussion.
- 24:45Speaker 3: I said it to Evan of Mike. I wish you
- 24:47Speaker 3: guys were here.
- 24:48Speaker 1: We brought it up.
- 24:48Speaker 6: It was just what's your approach to the wide receiver
- 24:50Speaker 6: position this offseason because all these guys come back.
- 24:54Speaker 3: And I get, like everyone you need a number one
- 24:56Speaker 3: all that stuff, but like, but.
- 24:57Speaker 6: Who do you who are you ready to replace? Who
- 24:59Speaker 6: are you ready to get rid of these current guys?
- 25:01Speaker 6: Who are you ready to say we don't really need
- 25:03Speaker 6: Keshan Bootim.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Or we need And I get that. I don't you know,
- 25:05Speaker 3: I don' I'm not saying you're wrong. I just think
- 25:08Speaker 3: it's an interesting kind of thought experiment of what's your
- 25:10Speaker 3: approach do you do you say, all right, we got
- 25:12Speaker 3: to throw caution to the.
- 25:12Speaker 6: Win and we have to you know, this whole that
- 25:15Speaker 6: whole unit's coming back. Do we push Kyle Williams down
- 25:17Speaker 6: a little bit? Don't we don't like what he did?
- 25:19Speaker 6: We you know, do we think pop Douglas?
- 25:21Speaker 1: We could?
- 25:22Speaker 3: You know, all these guys have had moments. So it's
- 25:23Speaker 3: hard right now on a win streak to say, well,
- 25:26Speaker 3: they've got to upgrade this player.
- 25:28Speaker 1: You know.
- 25:28Speaker 6: It's just it's an interesting kind of personnel building to
- 25:32Speaker 6: know what the options are, right.
- 25:33Speaker 2: I think that that and I felt this way at
- 25:36Speaker 2: the deadline, like if you're not going to hit an
- 25:39Speaker 2: absolute home run acquisition, it's got to be if it's
- 25:43Speaker 2: Justin Jefferson, Like, obviously you're going to take Justin Jefferson,
- 25:46Speaker 2: you know, AJ Brown, even though he's had a bad
- 25:49Speaker 2: year like that, I would entertain. You know, when you
- 25:52Speaker 2: start talking about them making moves for guys that are
- 25:55Speaker 2: maybe just a little bit better than what you have,
- 25:57Speaker 2: I think then that might not be worth it. Yeah,
- 26:00Speaker 2: but if it's somebody of that top ten receiver, top
- 26:04Speaker 2: fifteen receiver in the league caliber, than I think you
- 26:07Speaker 2: have to do.
- 26:07Speaker 3: If I can do better than those guys, I'm interested
- 26:10Speaker 3: in it.
- 26:10Speaker 6: Yeah, But I don't want to. I don't want I
- 26:13Speaker 6: don't want to make a lateral move.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, just to make a move.
- 26:16Speaker 3: But if I feel like there's a guy that's available
- 26:19Speaker 3: in the draft that's better than any of those guys
- 26:23Speaker 3: that I have, I'm interested in that.
- 26:25Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 26:25Speaker 3: I'm not telling you that's where I would go. I
- 26:26Speaker 3: think they have other needs and stuff. But I'm just
- 26:29Speaker 3: saying it's hard to just say I wouldn't I wouldn't
- 26:32Speaker 3: move on from any of these guys. What if I
- 26:34Speaker 3: thought that that could get better guys.
- 26:35Speaker 6: One other thing I would say, though, in regards to
- 26:37Speaker 6: the team next year and the schedule getting harder, is
- 26:39Speaker 6: that I mean, I do think that there's a bit
- 26:40Speaker 6: of a clock ticking on the defensive side of the
- 26:42Speaker 6: ball with some of the older veterans that they brought in, So,
- 26:45Speaker 6: you know, the Spallanes, the Landrys, the Carlton Davis's. You know,
- 26:49Speaker 6: can those guys play at a high level until they're
- 26:52Speaker 6: able to draft.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Or find replacements for those important positions?
- 26:56Speaker 6: You know, And those guys are all thirty ish thirty plus,
- 26:59Speaker 6: so that that would be an area where you know,
- 27:01Speaker 6: next year they get some more injuries, some guys are
- 27:03Speaker 6: getting a little older, the defense maybe takes a step back.
- 27:06Speaker 6: So I just I do think that there's a clock ticking,
- 27:08Speaker 6: especially on the defensive side of the ball. They've had
- 27:10Speaker 6: a lot of youth on the offensive side of the ball.
- 27:12Speaker 6: Right tackle not so much like that's a you know,
- 27:14Speaker 6: long term spot, but you know, defensively, you can go
- 27:17Speaker 6: pretty much right down the line, cornerback, there's going to
- 27:20Speaker 6: be a safety spot open, whether they want to bring
- 27:21Speaker 6: Hawkins back or try to upgrade him whatever. But you know,
- 27:24Speaker 6: I do think that there are there are some moves
- 27:26Speaker 6: that that they're going to have to be wary of.
- 27:27Speaker 2: I expect that to be a big part of this draft.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Like middle, like spine of the defense, defensive line, linebacker, safety.
- 27:34Speaker 2: I think those three spots are all spots that I
- 27:36Speaker 2: would probably expect them to draft at some point. And
- 27:39Speaker 2: they're not all going to be top one hundred picks,
- 27:42Speaker 2: not necessarily, but I don't really think we're you know,
- 27:46Speaker 2: dous and I at least they're an agreement. Like edge
- 27:48Speaker 2: rusher I think is probably the number one need, you know,
- 27:51Speaker 2: an outside pass pressure. You have bar More and Williams
- 27:54Speaker 2: inside for a little while, So can you hit somebody
- 27:56Speaker 2: on the outside that can really you know, get double
- 27:59Speaker 2: digged sacks?
- 27:59Speaker 6: And especially if chase On doesn't you know, they don't
- 28:02Speaker 6: want Chase On back, Chase On doesn't come back, whatever reason.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Like you know, that's that's an area too, for sure.
- 28:07Speaker 1: All right, let's get to the phones. Francisco's in North Carolina.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Francisco's great, what's going on, guys?
- 28:16Speaker 9: Going on?
- 28:18Speaker 1: Sad?
- 28:19Speaker 10: So I got to catch up on a couple of
- 28:21Speaker 10: days working topics and be able to call in. But
- 28:26Speaker 10: so as far as the conversation about the Chiefs making
- 28:30Speaker 10: the playoffs, I would just love it they didn't. And
- 28:32Speaker 10: it's not necessarily for the fact that whether I'm scared.
- 28:35Speaker 11: Of them or not, it's just I feel how they used.
- 28:38Speaker 10: To fill about our dynasty.
- 28:39Speaker 11: I want to see them fail every chance I can.
- 28:42Speaker 10: And then as far as that, like so I didn't
- 28:44Speaker 10: enjoy last week's game Fellas Furs Night.
- 28:47Speaker 11: I understand we want we covered, but like.
- 28:49Speaker 8: I'm sitting there with my brother, I'm heeded.
- 28:51Speaker 11: But it's because I keep seeing the same mistakes from defense.
- 28:53Speaker 8: Where it goes from letting them score on the first drive,
- 28:56Speaker 8: or where.
- 28:56Speaker 10: It goes from it's a whatever in seven or whatever
- 29:00Speaker 10: and nine and then they're giving them the first down
- 29:02Speaker 10: for free by line in twelve ten hours off.
- 29:05Speaker 8: For no reason, or I'm gonna tek for no reason.
- 29:07Speaker 11: You know, you know I'm not the expert, but but
- 29:11Speaker 11: you know, I just gotta beare my gri out on
- 29:13Speaker 11: that and then, uh, it's not really a ball prediction.
- 29:16Speaker 11: Drake May has his first three hundred yard game four
- 29:19Speaker 11: touchdowns than you guys.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Four touchdowns, three hundred yard game. I'll take it all right.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I like it, Thanks, Francisco. Yeah, I work it down. Yeah.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I feel like you went a little bit more towards like.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Yeah, which is a smart I hear him on the defense.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I don't know if I necessarily have the exact same
- 29:37Speaker 2: complaints as he does, but there are some some things
- 29:40Speaker 2: coverage wise with the defense that still irk me a
- 29:46Speaker 2: little bit the way they do things. So we'll see
- 29:48Speaker 2: if that changes. And you know, especially the matchup stuff
- 29:51Speaker 2: like if you're gonna play man coverage on third down,
- 29:53Speaker 2: like you can't have your safeties covering slot receivers and
- 29:56Speaker 2: things like that, So you'd like to see them be
- 29:58Speaker 2: a little bit better about that, but you know they're
- 30:02Speaker 2: other than I don't know if like I get the
- 30:04Speaker 2: off coverage annoys people, I don't really see that happening
- 30:07Speaker 2: on third down. It's mostly first and second down, and
- 30:10Speaker 2: or they're just trying not to give up chunks. But
- 30:13Speaker 2: you know, I think that there's the big picture methods
- 30:16Speaker 2: to some of the madness is working. But you wonder
- 30:19Speaker 2: when you go up a level and competition in the playoffs,
- 30:23Speaker 2: if these things continue to happen, if they're going to
- 30:25Speaker 2: be able to hit those buttons more than justin Fields
- 30:28Speaker 2: and Ady Mitchell Hood.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, Sam's in North Carolina. He's Sam.
- 30:35Speaker 12: Hey, Sam, Hey, y'all got to make sure y'all get
- 30:38Speaker 12: that line to the line, to the D line because
- 30:40Speaker 12: Fred had me ready to run through a wall like
- 30:43Speaker 12: a bunch of sector has got to come. I hope
- 30:45Speaker 12: Joe Burrow played because in the grand theme of things,
- 30:48Speaker 12: I mean, yes, the schedule has been easy, but from
- 30:52Speaker 12: having a bad team so many years, like looking at
- 30:55Speaker 12: silver Lining being down seven, oh, are teams not going
- 30:58Speaker 12: to be scared if they the team scores first. You
- 31:01Speaker 12: know what I'm saying, because we've did it all year, yep,
- 31:06Speaker 12: and these the Buffalo and the Baltimore game coming up
- 31:09Speaker 12: like that, that's what's going to get us ready for
- 31:11Speaker 12: the playoffs because we all got to remember at the
- 31:14Speaker 12: beginning of the season, everybody was like, we just want
- 31:16Speaker 12: to see growth from Drake May. We just want the
- 31:19Speaker 12: team to be competitive. I know that was my goal
- 31:21Speaker 12: and they checked that exceedingly. My boy, Evan, I'm with you.
- 31:26Speaker 12: The gold post can be moved, but it's got to
- 31:28Speaker 12: be in an hope, Like we can't expect them to
- 31:30Speaker 12: go win the Super Bowl. Like I've been here in
- 31:32Speaker 12: some saying say, you know, but like I said, what
- 31:36Speaker 12: do you guys think about that? Like, does that actually
- 31:38Speaker 12: mean something for the team that they've been down seven
- 31:42Speaker 12: ohs so they know how to play like that, Like
- 31:44Speaker 12: so it won't be a surprise if I mean, does
- 31:48Speaker 12: that mean anything?
- 31:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean coming, you know, giving up Listen, you'd
- 31:52Speaker 1: rather not give up that first touchdown, but they aren't.
- 31:57Speaker 1: This team last year would would welt on you know,
- 32:00Speaker 1: doing that, and they don't. It doesn't it doesn't really
- 32:03Speaker 1: mean you know, you'd rather not do it.
- 32:05Speaker 2: But yeah, I think to concern with the opening drive
- 32:08Speaker 2: touchdowns is and is necessarily that they're giving up the
- 32:11Speaker 2: points early in the game. It's that it might be
- 32:14Speaker 2: indicative of them getting scripted and like their their game
- 32:18Speaker 2: plan coming into the game versus the opponent's game plans
- 32:21Speaker 2: coming into the game, and the opponent's game plan has
- 32:24Speaker 2: been better than their, at least on the first drive. Yeah,
- 32:27Speaker 2: and maybe it's possime, maybe they're adjusting after the first
- 32:29Speaker 2: drive and that they just kind of want to let
- 32:31Speaker 2: the game declare. But when you again, like when you
- 32:34Speaker 2: do that against the Jets, it's one thing when you
- 32:37Speaker 2: do that in a playoff game against a really good
- 32:39Speaker 2: quarterback and a good play caller, and you know you're
- 32:41Speaker 2: playing the Colts and it's Shane Steichen on the other side.
- 32:44Speaker 2: He's just going to keep hitting the buttons that are working.
- 32:47Speaker 2: And some of these other teams don't have the ability
- 32:49Speaker 2: to consistently string it together. They get through their first
- 32:52Speaker 2: ten or fifteen plays that are scripted, and then they
- 32:55Speaker 2: kind of run out of plays, whereas some of these
- 32:58Speaker 2: better coaches and better offenses, they're not going to run
- 33:00Speaker 2: out of plays. So I think that's more of the
- 33:03Speaker 2: concern less so the fact that they're down seven to
- 33:05Speaker 2: nothing early on in the game, I.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Think, and I'd have to go back and look at
- 33:10Speaker 3: every game to make sure, but I think in the
- 33:12Speaker 3: eight game winning streak, I think they've had the lead
- 33:15Speaker 3: at the half of every one of them. I don't
- 33:17Speaker 3: believe they've been trailing in the second half since Pittsburghsburgh maybe,
- 33:23Speaker 3: so I don't really think seven nothing is adversity like down, say,
- 33:30Speaker 3: twenty seven to seventeen in the fourth quarter, that's adversity.
- 33:33Speaker 3: They've been trailing by two scores in a game twice
- 33:38Speaker 3: this season. They lost both games. That's the only time
- 33:42Speaker 3: that they've been trailing by two scores all year, which
- 33:45Speaker 3: is a testament to how well they've played. But to
- 33:47Speaker 3: Evan's point spot, justin fields seven points, he's not getting
- 33:53Speaker 3: many more than that, you know, Dylan Gabriel, cam Ward,
- 33:57Speaker 3: you know, keep naming all the guys they played. Those
- 34:00Speaker 3: guys are not capable of scoring many more points than
- 34:02Speaker 3: they scored. You do it in the playoffs. Those guys
- 34:06Speaker 3: will keep scoring, so then you'll see how they respond
- 34:09Speaker 3: to Dark University.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Spi and Fresno, says Burrow, kind of looks like a
- 34:14Speaker 1: Simpson's character with those bulging eyes, and Drake sounds like
- 34:17Speaker 1: bomb Boomhauer from King of the Hill. King of the
- 34:21Speaker 1: Hill characters are tougher than Simpsons characters. So Patriots win
- 34:24Speaker 1: thirty five twenty four. Well there you go. I like
- 34:27Speaker 1: that reasoning edge Patriots. I like that reasoning. I never
- 34:30Speaker 1: watched King of the Hill. Do you watch that?
- 34:32Speaker 3: I don't know the King of the Hill reference, but
- 34:34Speaker 3: Burrow definitely looks like a like a Simpsons I just
- 34:37Speaker 3: not Kevin McAllister, you know, it's it's Almo.
- 34:40Speaker 1: He looks a lot like that. Oh yeah, but I
- 34:42Speaker 1: love Joe Burry. He had a Star Wars bedroom. Burrow
- 34:47Speaker 1: is Coley Cochland should have looked like when he grew up.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, what's his name? Colly Klachland Cloughland.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Is that the Chicken place in Sincy Clockland?
- 34:58Speaker 1: That's it? Totally forgot. Let's go to Christian in LA.
- 35:03Speaker 1: What's up Christian?
- 35:05Speaker 13: Hey you guys, happy Thursday?
- 35:07Speaker 1: Sears? Hi?
- 35:10Speaker 13: My man Michael over in Texas. I just want to
- 35:13Speaker 13: say Michael is an oldie, but goodie. But I only
- 35:16Speaker 13: know two things that come from Texas, and I'm sure
- 35:18Speaker 13: you don't have any any horns, so there's anything wrong with.
- 35:21Speaker 12: It, but just stick to the stick to the kids.
- 35:24Speaker 12: Don't come after me.
- 35:25Speaker 13: I got too much to too many skills weapons. Okay,
- 35:30Speaker 13: now onto football. I'm really interested to see how our
- 35:34Speaker 13: defense has performed against the run this week with Chase Brown,
- 35:38Speaker 13: who I consider a pretty good running back, and no
- 35:41Speaker 13: Milton Williams. Also with Joe Burrow coming back to whatever
- 35:45Speaker 13: degree he can play, he's not gonna be very mobile,
- 35:47Speaker 13: so the way to get to him would be up
- 35:49Speaker 13: the middle, and again without no Willings. I want to
- 35:51Speaker 13: see how we geme of what player steps up to
- 35:54Speaker 13: try to get to Joe Burrow. And from what I've
- 35:57Speaker 13: seen on ESP they have us picking thirtieth in the
- 36:01Speaker 13: in the draft and taking a kid named Chris Bell
- 36:03Speaker 13: out of Louis Louisville six.
- 36:08Speaker 14: Thank you, guys.
- 36:08Speaker 12: I'm sitting here with Beverley sus.
- 36:10Speaker 13: She says, high and we will take it up the air, all.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Right, Beverly Sushi.
- 36:13Speaker 2: So he says, uh, well, I like the I like
- 36:16Speaker 2: the Chase Brown thing that we also are they going
- 36:18Speaker 2: to run the ball?
- 36:18Speaker 1: Brought that up.
- 36:19Speaker 6: It's a passing game, you know what I mean. That's
- 36:21Speaker 6: like the little dump off to Chase Brown.
- 36:22Speaker 1: That's, you know, thank you.
- 36:24Speaker 6: I don't know if that's sustainable, if that's gonna, you know,
- 36:26Speaker 6: be enough, but it might be enough to keep them
- 36:29Speaker 6: in a little bit, keep them moving the ball.
- 36:30Speaker 1: I just that's where I would look if I were them.
- 36:33Speaker 6: You know, I think they're gonna Patriots are gonna have
- 36:35Speaker 6: a plan for t Higgins for sure, and you know,
- 36:37Speaker 6: but Yoshivas is where i'd look. And then I'd look
- 36:39Speaker 6: at the tight ends and the running back in the
- 36:40Speaker 6: passing game, the underneath stuff. Try to pick them apart
- 36:42Speaker 6: in the early down zone. And then you know, when
- 36:44Speaker 6: you get to third down and you got to make
- 36:46Speaker 6: a play against man coverage, then.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Maybe look to see look to Yoshiva's They don't run
- 36:50Speaker 3: the ball.
- 36:51Speaker 2: It's really bizarre because they run it well when they
- 36:54Speaker 2: do run it, they just don't run it. And I
- 36:56Speaker 2: think a big reason why is is Chase Brown is
- 36:59Speaker 2: is not the biggest back, and he's really the only
- 37:01Speaker 2: running back they have, so I don't think that they
- 37:03Speaker 2: really want to run him into the ground. But they
- 37:06Speaker 2: throw the ball seventy percent of the time, which you
- 37:08Speaker 2: don't really see very often that's a lot. Yeah, and
- 37:12Speaker 2: so they they're thirty second in the league in rush attempts,
- 37:14Speaker 2: they're thirty second in the league and run rate, you know,
- 37:16Speaker 2: overall run rate, so they don't run it at all,
- 37:20Speaker 2: which is kind of bizarre.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Now, how much do you think that that's due to
- 37:24Speaker 3: their games and the way they unfold because of how
- 37:26Speaker 3: bad they are defensively?
- 37:27Speaker 6: They think that into what track me every game? You know,
- 37:29Speaker 6: they can't afford to declare early. They can't afford to
- 37:33Speaker 6: establish the run because it doesn't work. So I thought
- 37:38Speaker 6: of that. So now the mindset might not change. But
- 37:43Speaker 6: I did look at their run splits in one score games,
- 37:48Speaker 6: you know, when the game was still within one score,
- 37:50Speaker 6: and it's the same. But maybe they're still going into
- 37:53Speaker 6: the game thinking we got to throw, you know, like
- 37:55Speaker 6: so it might not.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Change the mindset. The script hasn't mattered too much. And
- 38:01Speaker 2: that's true. Like their shotgun rate, their pass rate, their
- 38:04Speaker 2: three receiver rate, all of it is league high, league high,
- 38:07Speaker 2: league high. Like they are a shotgun spread, chuck the
- 38:10Speaker 2: ball down the field offense. That's that's what they do.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Ye Niles is in Maryland and hello Alex, thanks for
- 38:18Speaker 1: joining what's up Niles Niles, Niles, Crane Niles Niless. Niles
- 38:28Speaker 1: was not there. Let's go to Harvey in Maine. Hey, Harvey, Hello, Hello,
- 38:35Speaker 1: Hey hey.
- 38:37Speaker 14: First time caller, longtime Patriots dam Nice. Got a couple
- 38:40Speaker 14: couple of questions for you, all things being equal, going
- 38:44Speaker 14: into the draft. If they're quality people available at multiple positions,
- 38:49Speaker 14: what position do you think the Pictures will prioritize with
- 38:54Speaker 14: their first pick? And second question, do you see any
- 38:58Speaker 14: paths to Epton? Shoot them get some steps wide receiver
- 39:01Speaker 14: this year?
- 39:03Speaker 1: Okay, So first question, multiple good players at multiple positions,
- 39:08Speaker 1: which position do they choose?
- 39:10Speaker 6: I think edge was what Evan and I said. I
- 39:12Speaker 6: mean that's you know, one of the premium positions. They
- 39:14Speaker 6: don't have a young player at so that you know,
- 39:16Speaker 6: it seems like a good draft class for that position.
- 39:18Speaker 1: But I think right tackle, right tackle?
- 39:21Speaker 2: Okay, I guess it depends on what Morgan mos just
- 39:26Speaker 2: you know, he's signed for two more years. I can't
- 39:28Speaker 2: imagine he's well, yeah, ready to retire. But I guess
- 39:32Speaker 2: you know that that to me will be eventually you know,
- 39:35Speaker 2: need that they may be picking the third or fourth
- 39:37Speaker 2: round like a developmental guy that can they can work
- 39:40Speaker 2: with behind Moses. But edge rusher I think is going
- 39:43Speaker 2: to be at the top of the list. And I
- 39:45Speaker 2: still think, like, you know a guy in the middle
- 39:46Speaker 2: of the field at either linebacker or safety that can
- 39:49Speaker 2: be a playmaker, you know, not just not just to
- 39:52Speaker 2: plug you know, plug gap kind of linebacker, but can
- 39:54Speaker 2: you get a guy that can play in the passing
- 39:56Speaker 2: game and you know, cover people go sideline to sideline,
- 39:59Speaker 2: you know that sort of thing.
- 40:00Speaker 3: You guys would rather defense than offense.
- 40:03Speaker 6: I mean not like I just I think you're in
- 40:05Speaker 6: a position now where I don't feel like you have
- 40:07Speaker 6: to take a position because you have you definitely don't
- 40:10Speaker 6: have and that's why I like the way. Yeah, however
- 40:13Speaker 6: that way, they're all the same. Yeah, you know you
- 40:15Speaker 6: have a stud edge rusher, safety corner, i'll tide receiver.
- 40:20Speaker 6: And for what you usay yesterday about tight end position.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Yeah, tight end I think is a is a sneaky one.
- 40:25Speaker 2: You know, they're both getting up there, Henry and Hooper.
- 40:27Speaker 2: But I also think you ideally would have maybe a
- 40:29Speaker 2: little bit more of a dynamic, you know, tight end
- 40:32Speaker 2: in the passing game. Down the line. Here, the kid
- 40:35Speaker 2: from Oregon is awesome. I don't know if he's going
- 40:37Speaker 2: to go in the top twenty though, Sadik he's a
- 40:41Speaker 2: really good player. But yeah, so I don't know how
- 40:46Speaker 2: high he's going to go. My current draft Russia, you know,
- 40:50Speaker 2: because I love the receivers, so I always going to
- 40:52Speaker 2: have m kayle Lemon from USC is a stud. But
- 40:56Speaker 2: another guy that I think might go higher than thirty two, Fred,
- 40:59Speaker 2: So you know that we'll see where that falls. But
- 41:02Speaker 2: you know there are guys like that in this draft.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Tight Ends a weird one. No like Sadz can go early,
- 41:07Speaker 2: the organ kid, but I think it's gonna be like
- 41:09Speaker 2: early and late. It's not going to be like a
- 41:12Speaker 2: lot of like Day two tight Ends necessarily. It's probably
- 41:14Speaker 2: going to be like him in the first round and
- 41:16Speaker 2: then maybe a lull at the position for a little while.
- 41:19Speaker 2: But you just like to see them add somebody that's athletic,
- 41:23Speaker 2: you know, has some tools, someone that can.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Put about Chisholm. We'll get any run at wide receiver.
- 41:29Speaker 6: Injury need to be an injury they've already had.
- 41:34Speaker 15: And he hasn't really.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he had a couple of snaps in one
- 41:38Speaker 1: of the games.
- 41:39Speaker 2: Right now, like a run package right now.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Kyle Willams is next man up, and you know so
- 41:43Speaker 3: it would take uh.
- 41:45Speaker 1: So what are you coming from, Alex?
- 41:46Speaker 15: Was that a community event with our boss, mister Kraft
- 41:50Speaker 15: Operation shower. So they have a.
- 41:52Speaker 4: Bunch of military families in who with either expecting moms
- 41:56Speaker 4: or they have newborns. So the foundation hold a good event.
- 42:00Speaker 4: They give send them home with like awesome really expensive stuff.
- 42:04Speaker 1: You take any stuff.
- 42:07Speaker 6: Chest, you're gonna get a jump on it.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Put it in your Hope chest.
- 42:12Speaker 3: A little diaper Genie, what if.
- 42:14Speaker 1: That like, oh my god, diaper Genie.
- 42:16Speaker 3: That just brought back a nightmare of.
- 42:19Speaker 6: A nightmare sausage sausage of diapers, you know, like you
- 42:23Speaker 6: pull the thing out.
- 42:24Speaker 12: It's just.
- 42:26Speaker 15: Like Evan's a little closer to this than I am.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Too close. But that so to worry about it. Just
- 42:33Speaker 1: next year when this event, I was walking down the
- 42:35Speaker 1: street with my wife and somebody had like a baby
- 42:37Speaker 1: car seat out, you know, just said we should take that,
- 42:41Speaker 1: just like what do we need to give it to Connor?
- 42:44Speaker 1: You know, put it in the whole chest, Hope chest.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Oh my god, the amount of stuff you gotta buy.
- 42:49Speaker 6: I think it's worse when like you do that and
- 42:50Speaker 6: you buy it's so much more than you think you need,
- 42:52Speaker 6: at least with the first one. That was our case
- 42:54Speaker 6: is like you have all these different baby contraptions, but
- 42:57Speaker 6: I mean, really there's just a handful you need and
- 42:58Speaker 6: there's always one thing that the baby loves and like
- 43:02Speaker 6: the four other things that you bought just in case,
- 43:05Speaker 6: kind of useless.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Won't do it.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Thank god, sister, she took care of the grandkids. There
- 43:10Speaker 2: you go, Mom and dad, do you have grandkids?
- 43:12Speaker 1: Didn't? Yeah, you're going to be the worst uncle ever.
- 43:16Speaker 2: I mean already is a dad, great uncle. Thank you.
- 43:20Speaker 6: Daddy's got to watch filmg Nickel, go find your unless
- 43:27Speaker 6: you can do what Mac Collins does with I don't
- 43:29Speaker 6: want to.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Uncle gave me a hard drive Christmas.
- 43:33Speaker 2: I've given Patriots here and he's loved it every every time.
- 43:37Speaker 1: So by the way, I buy.
- 43:39Speaker 6: My wife is starting to get requests from people at
- 43:42Speaker 6: work for rivalries.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Keeps everyone.
- 43:47Speaker 1: It's also nice requests coming in. They completely underestimated the
- 43:51Speaker 1: demand for this. It's crazy. I mean, I'm not just
- 43:54Speaker 1: talking about the league.
- 43:55Speaker 15: Are they going to.
- 43:58Speaker 1: I mean, we're gonna wear it again next year, So
- 44:00Speaker 1: I would say yeah.
- 44:01Speaker 15: Well, they just have it as a staple in the
- 44:03Speaker 15: pro shop, like they kind of do the throwback.
- 44:04Speaker 1: I would hope so, but they should, you know, the
- 44:07Speaker 1: way they like money, Wait, Nike and all the it's
- 44:10Speaker 1: like everything's a year out. Yeah, yeah, so I would
- 44:14Speaker 1: hope so. Dan and Virginia and Michigan says hell to
- 44:17Speaker 1: the year Fred once again, the boss man called it right.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Premante Brothers in Pittsburgh is so overrated. My brother in
- 44:24Speaker 1: law lives in't pitt and he and his wife were
- 44:26Speaker 1: talking about how great Promante Brothers was. My wife and
- 44:29Speaker 1: I was there and were woefully unimpressed. It was very
- 44:32Speaker 1: average sandwich that shouldn't rate a recommendation, let alone the
- 44:36Speaker 1: amount of hype it gets.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Wow, I mean, I tend to agree.
- 44:39Speaker 15: What kind of sandwich isn't it's.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Like good, It's like Italian type of sandwiches. It's fine
- 44:45Speaker 2: they put.
- 44:47Speaker 15: We're too spoiled in the Northeast.
- 44:48Speaker 3: With But like you've heard, I think it's one of
- 44:52Speaker 3: those things. It's like when you're someone's telling you about
- 44:56Speaker 3: a movie that you're the only one who hasn't seen,
- 44:58Speaker 3: and then by the time you see it, no way
- 45:00Speaker 3: it can live up to the hype. That's what happened
- 45:02Speaker 3: to this. It's a good sandwich.
- 45:04Speaker 1: But Paul, what do we say about things You have
- 45:06Speaker 1: to put stuff on.
- 45:07Speaker 6: Maybe it's not so good to kill the taste.
- 45:10Speaker 3: I agree with Fred, it was I we enjoyed it.
- 45:14Speaker 3: I liked it, but I mean I kind of felt
- 45:17Speaker 3: like In and Out Burger, like it was going to
- 45:19Speaker 3: change my life. It's a good burger.
- 45:22Speaker 1: It's fine.
- 45:22Speaker 3: Yeah, So that shot.
- 45:24Speaker 2: That strikes a nerve with me, though, Paul, because like
- 45:27Speaker 2: I feel like your exact description is exactly how I
- 45:30Speaker 2: try to preface In and Out to everybody that tries
- 45:33Speaker 2: it for the first time.
- 45:34Speaker 1: It's not.
- 45:35Speaker 2: It's not a life changing burger, all right. It's a
- 45:37Speaker 2: good fast burger.
- 45:38Speaker 15: It's great and it's a right value.
- 45:41Speaker 2: But I like Shakeshack too, but it's not it's in
- 45:45Speaker 2: a different category like shake Shack, and five Guys are
- 45:48Speaker 2: a step up in category like In and Out as
- 45:50Speaker 2: compared to like McDonald's, Wendy's Burger King Like it's a
- 45:54Speaker 2: fast food burger.
- 45:55Speaker 6: And that's the way I look at five Guys too.
- 45:57Speaker 6: But I like five guys. I like five guys people matter.
- 46:01Speaker 3: How many fries a lot of too many fries.
- 46:04Speaker 1: That's why I.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Enjoyed my red.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Red Sunday. M five. Guys, those fries are legit.
- 46:12Speaker 4: You're an air fire. Air fire is the only way
- 46:14Speaker 4: to like beat up fries. After It's the only way
- 46:17Speaker 4: I left over.
- 46:18Speaker 1: That's trying to make burger. I can't. I can't you
- 46:21Speaker 1: navigate the air fryer.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Cook things that you would be cooked.
- 46:26Speaker 16: Let's cook a cheeseburger air fer.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Okay, you're all the stuff that you have to have
- 46:35Speaker 1: perfect for the air fryer to warn man.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Well, I literally the like I even I can do it.
- 46:41Speaker 2: I'm horrible. Like you just press a button and it
- 46:43Speaker 2: goes on.
- 46:44Speaker 3: It's like a little picture of the thing that you
- 46:45Speaker 3: want to cook. Is this what you're going to cook?
- 46:47Speaker 3: Push that button? It's not really that air.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Yeah, now it's good. H I would say.
- 46:52Speaker 3: I was like a Christian, like you got it.
- 46:55Speaker 6: Next time you call in and tell us about Bay
- 46:57Speaker 6: Cities because I've been telling Paul about Base Cities and
- 46:59Speaker 6: Mynica for a while. They have the Godmother, which they're
- 47:02Speaker 6: just an old school Italian deli, great bread. It's just
- 47:05Speaker 6: one spot. I always have to get you out there.
- 47:07Speaker 6: Talking about good sandwich. But that's one that's not a chain. No, no, no,
- 47:11Speaker 6: that it's like it's like one of the that's legit.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Yeah it is, I mean it's but.
- 47:15Speaker 2: I think that's what happened to Primanti's. Well, it wasn't
- 47:18Speaker 2: a chain, and then it expanded because it it was
- 47:21Speaker 2: so popular, so they started opening multiple restaurants, and then
- 47:25Speaker 2: it went down.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Jose is in Texas.
- 47:28Speaker 8: Hey, Jose, Jose, Hey, sorry, boss man, Fred I have
- 47:35Speaker 8: a grievance with Christian in La.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Okay, Texas versus California.
- 47:39Speaker 8: Here we go just like the Texas. Hey, November, and
- 47:43Speaker 8: Christian is from Texas too. And also we've got water
- 47:50Speaker 8: so you can't you can't.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Really need on the So what's your grievance Texas?
- 47:59Speaker 12: Texas?
- 48:00Speaker 1: He hates Texas?
- 48:01Speaker 3: Okay, just defending the great state of Texas.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Okay, did he say he hated Texas? Yeah, I mean yes,
- 48:07Speaker 1: a little.
- 48:07Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 48:07Speaker 6: Christian was all over somebody who evidently must have made
- 48:10Speaker 6: fun of him yesterday.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Yeah somebody. Yeah, somebody made fun of him. All right, Well, okay,
- 48:15Speaker 1: chalk another one up for someone who hates Christian in La. Yeah,
- 48:19Speaker 1: I've heard you're not supposed to mess with Texas. Speaking
- 48:21Speaker 1: of listener and listener crime, Travis in West Virginia does
- 48:26Speaker 1: he have a beef with Ford and Savannah. I don't.
- 48:28Speaker 1: I don't keep track of his beef. He calls him
- 48:30Speaker 1: Ford Pinto. He says, a backwards hat wearing a bro
- 48:35Speaker 1: from Savannah wrote in last week and uncreatively told me
- 48:38Speaker 1: to shut the hell up. He also nonsensically accused me
- 48:42Speaker 1: of lacking culture. Thus, I hereby challenge Ford Pinto and
- 48:46Speaker 1: Savannah to a culture off. And seriously, bro, take your
- 48:49Speaker 1: hat off. You're indoors. What's what's going around here?
- 48:53Speaker 15: I don't know, but we have to have Eric test
- 48:56Speaker 15: for them.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Right right?
- 48:58Speaker 15: Quiz them both?
- 49:00Speaker 3: Nerx Calvino, Yeah, I do.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Wow.
- 49:01Speaker 6: I was like, I was with you, and I'm like,
- 49:03Speaker 6: I wanted to double check, but I think you're He's
- 49:04Speaker 6: the right man to.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Judge a culture off. Yeah. Starting with cork sniffing Joe
- 49:12Speaker 1: and Michigan. I'm not a big believer in coincidence. Therefore,
- 49:14Speaker 1: is there any logic to playing soft on defense in
- 49:17Speaker 1: the opponent's first possession. The Patriots have allowed this too
- 49:21Speaker 1: often for it to be chance. Are they playing too
- 49:25Speaker 1: soft on the first possession. Too conservative, Maybe, I don't know,
- 49:29Speaker 1: just to see what they're doing, feel them out. Once
- 49:32Speaker 1: you figure it out, then I just don't know.
- 49:34Speaker 3: I think they're getting a lot of schemed up stuff,
- 49:36Speaker 3: which isn't it really about playing soft It's just kind
- 49:38Speaker 3: of a team knows what your rules are, and they're
- 49:40Speaker 3: going to have a handful of plays on the opening.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Script to exploit what they see. So I don't know.
- 49:45Speaker 1: If it's last year we were easy to defend, this year
- 49:49Speaker 1: we're easy to script. That's probably a good, okay way
- 49:53Speaker 1: to put it.
- 49:54Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not I guess that's another example of
- 49:58Speaker 3: how far back we are.
- 50:00Speaker 1: We're back.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Do you remember when anytime anybody ever did anything to
- 50:04Speaker 3: have a modicum of success against Belichick? It was by design?
- 50:08Speaker 3: Bills wanted that to happen. You know, that's we're bad. Yeah,
- 50:12Speaker 3: so we're too conservative. The New Orleans game, we were
- 50:15Speaker 3: critical of Zach Koorr for calling a blitz on the
- 50:18Speaker 3: first play of the game. Even you're susceptible to a
- 50:20Speaker 3: fifty yard completion with Kyle Dugger running toward the line
- 50:23Speaker 3: of skimmage and then a lobby beating him over the
- 50:26Speaker 3: top now we're playing too conservative. Like to me, it's
- 50:30Speaker 3: what you were saying. The other teams are coming up
- 50:34Speaker 3: with with good scripts and they're not able to sustain
- 50:39Speaker 3: it because they're not good enough to sustain it. But
- 50:43Speaker 3: a lot of these teams, you know, you rep something
- 50:47Speaker 3: enough and you're ready to go, and you have some
- 50:50Speaker 3: success with it early in the game. I just think
- 50:52Speaker 3: it's one of those things.
- 50:53Speaker 1: I think it happens a lot, not just against us.
- 50:56Speaker 1: I mean, we're the worst.
- 50:57Speaker 3: It's odd because of the dichotomy between the drive and
- 51:01Speaker 3: for the most part, the rest of the game. Yeah,
- 51:03Speaker 3: there's a lot of teams that have success early in
- 51:05Speaker 3: games and they continue to have some success. The Patriots
- 51:09Speaker 3: have completely shut teams down for the most part in
- 51:12Speaker 3: the middle two quarters. And that's what I think makes
- 51:15Speaker 3: this a little bit different.
- 51:16Speaker 6: I wonder if some of it, too, is I remember
- 51:18Speaker 6: in the past talking about the Patriots offense trying to
- 51:20Speaker 6: use aggressive defenses like or other teams using their aggressiveness
- 51:26Speaker 6: against them, you know, and trying to use the Patriots
- 51:28Speaker 6: like a good example of the Steelers, like you know,
- 51:30Speaker 6: with Troy Paulamalu, those you know, they knew he's coming,
- 51:34Speaker 6: so let's bait him into it and try to take
- 51:36Speaker 6: advantage of The Patriots play a similar kind of attacking
- 51:39Speaker 6: defense now where I think you can get guys upfield,
- 51:42Speaker 6: you can get guys moving in a certain direction, and
- 51:44Speaker 6: then you know, try to.
- 51:44Speaker 3: But I think they've done some different things. You know,
- 51:47Speaker 3: we can plain that they were way too aggressive in
- 51:49Speaker 3: the opener. Now we're complaining that they're not aggressive enough,
- 51:53Speaker 3: you know. So I think other teams have done a
- 51:54Speaker 3: good job of identifying what the Patriots are doing or
- 51:59Speaker 3: will do in a game, and they've had successful.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Even going back to like watching the old Bill defense.
- 52:04Speaker 6: Like I remember, like literally one of my personal rules
- 52:07Speaker 6: of watching the game was like don't react to the
- 52:09Speaker 6: first drive and then you know, so it happened to them.
- 52:10Speaker 6: I mean, I don't know if it's quite as stand
- 52:13Speaker 6: out as it's been this year, where you know, to
- 52:14Speaker 6: Paul's point, it's like one, you know, six play drive
- 52:17Speaker 6: and they're in the end zone and then it's like
- 52:18Speaker 6: out out out.
- 52:19Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 52:21Speaker 3: I just think that is a common thing that teams,
- 52:22Speaker 3: you know, especially good offensive coordinators. I think what makes
- 52:25Speaker 3: this different is how bad the offenses are in Tennessee,
- 52:30Speaker 3: the Jets. You know, some of those teams New Orleans
- 52:33Speaker 3: have been really, really wretched offensively except for against you
- 52:37Speaker 3: in the first drive.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:38Speaker 3: And you know Bill's defenses in those games pitch shutouts
- 52:44Speaker 3: and the like. And that's when they, you know, got
- 52:47Speaker 3: Kyle Van Noyd to stick his chest out from himself,
- 52:49Speaker 3: the boogeyman. Well, you know, when they would beat the
- 52:51Speaker 3: crap out of these overwhelmed opponents.
- 52:53Speaker 6: I'd say to another thing on this defense is they're
- 52:55Speaker 6: thirty second in red zone defense. So those Bill defenses too,
- 52:59Speaker 6: they might allow long drive, but they were getting stops
- 53:01Speaker 6: for field goals instead.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Now it's a bad red zone. You get to the twenty,
- 53:05Speaker 1: you're probably gonna score. It's Patriots defense, right, Jason writes
- 53:08Speaker 1: in Savannah, I had a YouTube ad pop up when
- 53:11Speaker 1: Christian and La call. They couldn't be any happier. All right,

- 55:26Speaker 1: That you're a little bit of a long weekend there.
- 55:28Speaker 3: How are things out there to day a little rusty
- 55:30Speaker 3: or you guys get back into it?
- 55:31Speaker 19: No, I mean, you know all, I'm like, we you know,
- 55:32Speaker 19: as professionals, man, we do whatever we can do to
- 55:34Speaker 19: stay in you know, stay in the in the game
- 55:35Speaker 19: and stay in the shaping. But obviously, you know, after
- 55:37Speaker 19: a couple of days off, it's always good to get
- 55:39Speaker 19: back on the field and just be with your brothers.
- 55:41Speaker 1: So so I want to take you back.
- 55:42Speaker 3: You were sitting here, I think it was February March
- 55:44Speaker 3: when we brought the free agents in.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Here was great. You know, vibes were high.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Then you've been around, You've been on teams where you
- 55:50Speaker 3: get there and the spring.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Vibes are high. The vibes are still high right now.
- 55:53Speaker 6: How did it all come together for you guys with
- 55:55Speaker 6: so many new coaches, new players, rookies. I mean, it's
- 55:57Speaker 6: it's really come together. You guys that are on a
- 55:59Speaker 6: winning streak and it's going great.
- 56:01Speaker 19: I think, you know, you know, first of all, Man,
- 56:03Speaker 19: you know front office, and hats off to them and
- 56:05Speaker 19: on the decisions they made to get these rookies and
- 56:07Speaker 19: free agencies in a lot of details into the work
- 56:10Speaker 19: of the guys that have come in. And then obviously,
- 56:12Speaker 19: you know, I speak for the offensive side, having those
- 56:15Speaker 19: two rookies on the left side that's played amazing football.
- 56:17Speaker 19: And you know, I try not to tell them this
- 56:20Speaker 19: all the time, you know, but like I don't, I
- 56:21Speaker 19: don't really consider them rookies, man, just because how they
- 56:24Speaker 19: came in and then detailed the you know, detailed the
- 56:27Speaker 19: offense and even tray Pion Henderson Man. You know, like
- 56:30Speaker 19: a lot of people have been talking about like it's
- 56:31Speaker 19: taking them a while to get get going, but you
- 56:34Speaker 19: know it's hard in the NFL, you know, so just
- 56:36Speaker 19: some you know, kudos to those guys, you know, just
- 56:38Speaker 19: being patient and just going at a day day after
- 56:41Speaker 19: day and when that opportunity presents itself, this is what happens, man,
- 56:44Speaker 19: This is what happens.
- 56:45Speaker 2: It's pretty cool that it's you and Mike on the
- 56:48Speaker 2: right side, two Vets and then two rookies on the
- 56:50Speaker 2: on the left side. Because how have you been able
- 56:53Speaker 2: to help Will and Jared and just kind of take
- 56:56Speaker 2: them under your wing.
- 56:57Speaker 19: I don't think it's necessarily helping them, And I think
- 56:59Speaker 19: we all just collectively just you know, just know each other,
- 57:03Speaker 19: you know obviously all we preach and being being able
- 57:05Speaker 19: to know each other on and off the field.
- 57:07Speaker 1: I think that's helped us tremendously.
- 57:09Speaker 19: But I want to say, you know, the unsolved hero
- 57:11Speaker 19: of it all is probably Garrett Brad Burry Man. He's
- 57:14Speaker 19: done an amazing job just getting us all on the
- 57:16Speaker 19: same page, detailing. You know, he's played a long time
- 57:19Speaker 19: in this league as a center, and when you got
- 57:20Speaker 19: a guy as a center that can speak for all
- 57:22Speaker 19: five and help the quarterback get get on the same page,
- 57:26Speaker 19: I think that's the I think that's the engine.
- 57:28Speaker 1: You know, that's the engine to the offense right there.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Those guys aren't the only rookies.
- 57:31Speaker 6: And some of my favorite interactions when we're in the
- 57:33Speaker 6: locker room is watching you and Marcus Bryant and Caden
- 57:36Speaker 6: Wallace and you're just holding court and you know, teasing guys.
- 57:38Speaker 1: But I think you've been a huge part of the
- 57:41Speaker 1: change this year. And we've been in the locker room
- 57:42Speaker 1: in the last few years.
- 57:43Speaker 3: We know what it's like when things aren't going great,
- 57:45Speaker 3: but you've been in the center of what feels like
- 57:47Speaker 3: just bringing everybody together. And does that help you as
- 57:49Speaker 3: an older player, have these young guys who you know
- 57:51Speaker 3: have aspirations to get to a level where you've gotten.
- 57:54Speaker 19: I think I think the biggest thing is, you know,
- 57:55Speaker 19: it's not easy what we do every day. You know,
- 57:57Speaker 19: the sacrifices that you make as a you know, as
- 57:59Speaker 19: a father, as a friend, as a family member, whatever
- 58:02Speaker 19: the case is, and to be able to come here
- 58:03Speaker 19: and play this this this game that we love. You know,
- 58:05Speaker 19: I tell those guys all the time, man, we play
- 58:07Speaker 19: king a keen games, you know, for a ransom, you know,
- 58:10Speaker 19: a child's game for a king ransom. And you know,
- 58:12Speaker 19: just being able to you know, take that little edge off,
- 58:15Speaker 19: you know when we're not on the field and just
- 58:16Speaker 19: being able to laugh and just share jokes and stuff
- 58:18Speaker 19: like that, that's very important. It goes into knowing your
- 58:21Speaker 19: brothers off the field because when you you know, it's
- 58:23Speaker 19: fourth and one and you got to have it, you know,
- 58:25Speaker 19: and Coach Raves is out there beating his chest like, hey,
- 58:28Speaker 19: let's go, guys. Like you know, when you know your
- 58:30Speaker 19: guys inside and out, you know, off the field and
- 58:32Speaker 19: on the field, you're able to give that extra push,
- 58:33Speaker 19: you know, because you guys are brothers. You're fighting for
- 58:36Speaker 19: the same thing, you want the same thing, and it's
- 58:38Speaker 19: just the betterment of the team.
- 58:40Speaker 2: You mentioned Coach Frabele and I know he spends a
- 58:42Speaker 2: lot of time with you guys in the offensive line room.
- 58:44Speaker 2: How rare has that been, you know for you just
- 58:47Speaker 2: as a guy that's had a lot of coaches. You know,
- 58:49Speaker 2: is it rare to have the head coach this hands
- 58:51Speaker 2: on with the offensive line.
- 58:52Speaker 1: I think it's.
- 58:52Speaker 19: Uh, I think it's rare, But I think, you know,
- 58:55Speaker 19: just giving the take of his career as a as
- 58:57Speaker 19: a professional football player and as a coach, he's.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Done it on high level man.
- 59:02Speaker 19: Obviously, you know he's won super Bowls in this in
- 59:04Speaker 19: the same building that we work in every day. And
- 59:06Speaker 19: I think when you have that that type of example
- 59:09Speaker 19: every day that goes out there and you see your
- 59:11Speaker 19: coach taking taking hits on the chin and you know,
- 59:14Speaker 19: holding backs for players, man, that's that's the that's the
- 59:17Speaker 19: you know, the details and the techniques and the fundamentals
- 59:20Speaker 19: and everything that we preach as in taking your you know,
- 59:22Speaker 19: the identity with you on the road and in the
- 59:25Speaker 19: stadium at home games and things like that. I think
- 59:28Speaker 19: when you got a guy that's uh, that shows that
- 59:30Speaker 19: every day and makes it a lot easier to come
- 59:32Speaker 19: to work and have those same sets of set on mind.
- 59:34Speaker 6: We hear a lot that the season starts after Thanksgiving.
- 59:37Speaker 6: You've been a veteran, I'm sure you've heard that too.
- 59:39Speaker 6: But what does the team need to do now as
- 59:40Speaker 6: we get into December and getting down to the you know,
- 59:44Speaker 6: the final road down to the playoffs.
- 59:45Speaker 19: You know, you know a lot of people talking about
- 59:47Speaker 19: the record and everything that we've done so far, and
- 59:48Speaker 19: you know, just being an older guy in the locker
- 59:50Speaker 19: room and telling the guys like, hey, we haven't done
- 59:52Speaker 19: anything yet, because none of this, man, none of this
- 59:54Speaker 19: matters unless you you play meaningful games in December.
- 59:56Speaker 1: And I think that's where we're headed, you know.
- 59:58Speaker 19: And I think, you know, we're just telling you one
- 1:00:00Speaker 19: day at a time, and you know, the next next
- 1:00:02Speaker 19: step in Cincinnati, you know, getting that going going on
- 1:00:04Speaker 19: the road again, taking our identity with us, packing it
- 1:00:07Speaker 19: with us and going out there and getting that dub
- 1:00:09Speaker 19: out there and then go from there. You know, I
- 1:00:11Speaker 19: think you can't look too far ahead. You got to
- 1:00:13Speaker 19: be where your feet are. And I think when you're
- 1:00:15Speaker 19: able to do that, the outcome is favorable for you.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: So I want to take you back to March for
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: a second. To be honest, if I told you you're
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: going to be nine and two through eleven weeks when
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: you signed here in March, would you believe me?
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: Like?
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: How how cool has it been to see you know,
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: that kind of growth?
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Man, it's been it's been. It's been fun, man.
- 1:00:33Speaker 19: Just just like you know, going back to the signings,
- 1:00:36Speaker 19: you know what I'm saying, Just like going back to
- 1:00:37Speaker 19: the signings and seeing the guys that, uh that that
- 1:00:40Speaker 19: that we've signed, and just the identity of the guys like,
- 1:00:42Speaker 19: you know, I've known Milton for for a while, you know,
- 1:00:46Speaker 19: being in that division and just seeing him from you know,
- 1:00:48Speaker 19: his rookie year to now what he's going to the
- 1:00:50Speaker 19: table splaining Obviously Diggs. I've known Digs since high school,
- 1:00:53Speaker 19: so you know, just seeing those guys coming to operate
- 1:00:57Speaker 19: the way they do, it's no I mean, obviously, you
- 1:00:59Speaker 19: know you want to preach. You know, everybody has the
- 1:01:01Speaker 19: same goal in the beginning of the season is to
- 1:01:03Speaker 19: get to the you know, get to get into the race,
- 1:01:05Speaker 19: you know what I'm saying. But the details that we've
- 1:01:08Speaker 19: carried every day from our coaching staffs to the players,
- 1:01:11Speaker 19: to the the the.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Weight room, the equipment room, you know, the training room.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: Everybody's all hands on.
- 1:01:17Speaker 19: And I think when you're able to have a head
- 1:01:18Speaker 19: coach that that's able to give that praise to everybody
- 1:01:21Speaker 19: and not selfishly say hey, like it's just us doing it,
- 1:01:24Speaker 19: but we're bringing everybody along with us.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I mean, you know, a five is better than one, right,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: so we'll take it. I just got to falla what
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: did you know what Dixs?
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: Did you guys play against each other?
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: Were your teammates? How did you actually took Diggs on
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: his official visit to UVA.
- 1:01:38Speaker 19: So we've known each other for a while just being
- 1:01:40Speaker 19: in the DMV area and stuff like that.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: And you know, I think for him, man, just the
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: way he's.
- 1:01:45Speaker 19: Came in here in this building and you know, all
- 1:01:47Speaker 19: the outside noise that you know, Kriema, Donna and all
- 1:01:50Speaker 19: these things has been said, he's probably been the guy
- 1:01:54Speaker 19: in the middle of it all that's just sacrificed a
- 1:01:56Speaker 19: lot and just bringing guys along, right. And I think
- 1:02:01Speaker 19: when you have a guy like that, that that shows
- 1:02:03Speaker 19: that hey like this, that that might have been me
- 1:02:05Speaker 19: years ago, this is me now. You know, guys looked
- 1:02:08Speaker 19: at that in the locker room, is like, hey, like,
- 1:02:10Speaker 19: I can play a long time in this league as
- 1:02:12Speaker 19: well at a high level.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: And what he brings to the table, man, that energy.
- 1:02:15Speaker 19: You know, you've seen the you've seen the camera, you
- 1:02:18Speaker 19: know before before we break.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: In in games and things like that. That energy.
- 1:02:21Speaker 19: You know that that energy is contagious, man. So like
- 1:02:24Speaker 19: when you got guys running around like that Mac Collins too, bro, Like,
- 1:02:27Speaker 19: you know, we got a great group of guys in
- 1:02:29Speaker 19: the locker room, man, and hands down, and I.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Think the details of work that we put in is
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: really showing.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Yeah, glad you brought that up because we see it
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: all the time with Diggs. But I do think people
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: realize you're right, Like he had a reputation of being
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: a little bit more of a diva and I could
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: not think that that's further from the truth based off
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: of what we've seen.
- 1:02:48Speaker 19: One hundred percent. Man, And he's been he's been that rock.
- 1:02:50Speaker 19: You know, he's been that rock for a lot of
- 1:02:52Speaker 19: guys in that locker room. Obviously Drake May you know,
- 1:02:55Speaker 19: somebody he can count on and things like that. But uh,
- 1:02:58Speaker 19: he's that guy that like, you know, he's that he's
- 1:03:00Speaker 19: that receiver that you often find in the offensive line
- 1:03:03Speaker 19: a circle of offensive lineman joking think he's six seven,
- 1:03:06Speaker 19: three hundred and thirty pounds himself. But like I said, man,
- 1:03:10Speaker 19: that energy is contagious, and you know we just feed
- 1:03:12Speaker 19: off of it, man, you know, we feed off of it.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: Well, hey Morgan, thank you so much for coming coming here,
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: and good luck this weekend.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I appreciate it, man, thank you so much. Yep, and
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: now great moments in history.
- 1:03:28Speaker 20: I just had to stop at that shell station down
- 1:03:31Speaker 20: next to Luciano's on one Fred. Yeah, filling up for gas.
- 1:03:35Speaker 20: So I go in to pay the cashier, this woman
- 1:03:37Speaker 20: who's been there forever pump you know, now, I know
- 1:03:40Speaker 20: I like to go in and pay pre pay.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: I like that. I just look it better.
- 1:03:43Speaker 20: Oh come, don't get me on it, don't get wid on,
- 1:03:46Speaker 20: just cap it.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Stop it. Why do you like to the card the
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: credit card? It's just twenty bucks on or fill it up?
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: No, I usually put in a certain amount.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Can you do that at the pump? I know you can.
- 1:03:57Speaker 20: Jerry Seinfeld from the commercial that he did back in
- 1:03:59Speaker 20: the day when he's.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Remember you did that? Oh oh, and he'd pull the
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: credit card.
- 1:04:03Speaker 20: Apparently you don't all the way in there, all the
- 1:04:05Speaker 20: way it sounds like you're walking fifteen miles to go
- 1:04:08Speaker 20: to you.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: I can't understand if you didn't have a credit card,
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: all you had was cats, because then you got that.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: I can't understand anyway, so I go into the store.
- 1:04:14Speaker 20: It makes no sense anyway I go into the well,
- 1:04:17Speaker 20: stop it and let me finish the story.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Why would you go in? Oh, it's just such a hassle.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: It's not a hassle.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: You're the laziest person I've.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: Ever known that they did this at the I'm walking
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: ten steps to walk into the door so I can
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: pay for cash here and sell have this. It's it's
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: for our convenience.
- 1:04:32Speaker 20: Have you ever seen the signs on there that a
- 1:04:34Speaker 20: lot of places say, pre go inside and pre pay
- 1:04:38Speaker 20: before you pump. A lot of places won't let you
- 1:04:40Speaker 20: do that thing at the pump.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: You know, where the hell you in Arkansas? That's another
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: great moment from all right back here and patres on
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: fil today. Five to five past five hundred is the
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Hotline podcast at patriots dot com. Is the email address
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: I thought we'd address some uh stop what allow me
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: to do my Oh geez, yeah, we got the copilot.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Somebody stop me. I didn't know. I didn't.
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: Right before we started doing let you go, she said,
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: all right, I'll start with the co pilot and well,
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: what do you have.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: In your hands? What talked about? I was wondering why
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: it's so big.
- 1:05:21Speaker 15: It's the case in there.
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: All right, guys, it's time for the co pilot question
- 1:05:27Speaker 6: that we presented by a Microsoft copilot, where every day
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: is game day and where every decision is powered by
- 1:05:31Speaker 6: insight innovation. Microsoft technology helps to make decisions faster, insight sharper,
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: and strategy is more adaptive. So, guys, I'm trying to
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: tie a couple things here together the question. I think
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: Paul's going to get this one, but we're going to
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: tie a couple things together. How did the nineteen eighty
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: five Patriots clinch a playoff berth and what and I'm
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: gonna add an indemnment to addendum to this, and what
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: was the play that sealed it?
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: It's a Robert Weathers touchdown run against the Cincinnati Bengals.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: And there it is, great call, Paul out in Foxburgh.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Quite quite a memorable game that people might have forgotten about.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: And if you listen to the upcoming Super Bowl sound
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: out to see nineteen eighty five you can learn more
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: about that and.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Be released in a couple of weeks. But Paul is right.
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: Patriots went into Week sixteen at Miami a chance to
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: win the Division clinch a playoff birth they lost a heartbreaker,
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: you know, last setime, thirty to twenty seven in overtime,
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: not a regulation thing.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: It was they had.
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: They were down by by fourteen, They scored a touchdown,
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: they recovered a fumble for out in the kickoff tie.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: Game grow again to Morgan, Marino down.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: The field and a field goal to win it. Speaking
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: to Morgan, Oh, look at this, and.
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: We have to give this is play right here for
- 1:06:37Speaker 6: Robert Weathers. So just to set it up, I mean,
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: the Patriots had a chance. They had a fourth and
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: one at the Cincinnati forty two. They were up by
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: four points two minutes left in the game. It's kind
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: of situational football, Paul, like you talk about sometimes you know,
- 1:06:48Speaker 6: you could have kicked a field goal and gone up
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: by seven, or you go for it on fourth and one,
- 1:06:52Speaker 6: and and Robert Weathers had the forty two yard forty
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: two field goal and the forty two too far for
- 1:06:57Speaker 6: twenty Franklin at that sixty years. Yeah, he didn't wear shoes,
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: goes barefoot, and that's in December, so it was probably
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: pretty cold. But uh yeah, you know, and also another
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: part of this game that's kind of famous is the
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: fans stormed the field.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: It was a crazy atmosphere.
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: And what happened they took the uprights out of the
- 1:07:14Speaker 6: stadium and went down root and that what happened, and
- 1:07:17Speaker 6: then somebody unfortunately got electrocuted.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: Correct.
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: But as part of my project that I'm doing on
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: eighty five, I talked to Patrick Sullivan, who was the GM,
- 1:07:24Speaker 6: and he was kind of like, you know, I didn't
- 1:07:25Speaker 6: I didn't think the state police will let him like
- 1:07:27Speaker 6: get all the way down Route one, Like they're like
- 1:07:28Speaker 6: two miles away with the gold boasts when the guy
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: just people.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Goal post down the state highway. Not a big deal, No,
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: it's probably frown upon.
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: That now really a really you know, great moment, you
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: know for the Patriots organization.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: There.
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: I mean, that's you know that that Patriots team hadn't
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: won a playoff game in the NFL to that point.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: They had won one previous AFC championship.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: They didn't win the AFC.
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: Championship that year, but a big game against the Bengals
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: came here and you know, a young Boomerosisin who a
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: couple of years later would would represent the AFC in
- 1:07:59Speaker 6: the Super Bowl.
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: First ever playoff win.
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: In the in the NFL, in the NFL, technically in
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: the AFL. In sixty three they beat Buffalo in kind
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: of a playing game that they had to have, and
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: then they went to San Diego and got smoked, and
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: then I'm sorry.
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: Then they went to seventy six playoff win. They hadn't
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: had a playoff.
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: Win they lost in seventy had a playoff win until
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: eighty five, seventy eight.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: And remember the field that they played in San Diego
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: back in the early sixties. Yeah, Balboa Stadium. That's right, right, hey, Baboa.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: So I only remember that because Andy Hart always called
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: it Rocky Bob. So now it's got actually work in
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: some eighty five stuff, some Bengals stuff game.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: That's probably a Stanley Morgan.
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: Stanley Morgan also has made the semifinals as one of
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: nine semifinalists on the veteran categories.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: So the cool thing was well overdue. Now.
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: I wrote a little thing about him yesterday, and you know,
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: there are a lot of Stanley Morgan fans out there,
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: like just the random people on Twitter being like he's
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: got to be in you know, I mean, I think
- 1:08:54Speaker 6: he still has the record for yards per reception with
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: over five hundred receptions, it's like nineteen yards. So he
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: was the proverbial deep threat. I had a great career
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: here for the Patriots, you know, covering my end of
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: the seventies in the eighties, so tying it all together
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: in the eighty five podcasts coming out soon, so stay
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: tuned for that.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: All right. So when we came out of the break,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: I started talking about it. I shouldn't have, but now
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: I'll finish. We had some little media on Patriots hate
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: going on in a couple instances. The first one was
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: Cam Newton calling the Patriots fools gold and then Stephen A. Smith,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: I guess on the same show, right, maybe a different day,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: calling our Drake May Drake Drake a liar for saying
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: he doesn't know what show Cam is on? What is
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: going on? Why do they hate us?
- 1:09:46Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: Well, so Drake said, you know, I don't know what
- 1:09:48Speaker 6: show he's on. You know, I'm just trying to focus
- 1:09:50Speaker 6: on the team. Kind of a Cam response. But my
- 1:09:52Speaker 6: response was when I saw the Stevin eighth tith, I
- 1:09:54Speaker 6: was like, oh, Cam Newton's on first take, I discovered
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: the Kim Newton's on.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: I saw that Cam Newton said, I didn't know what
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: always said neither. All those shows are the same.
- 1:10:03Speaker 15: To me, and they all get clipped on Twitter. They
- 1:10:04Speaker 15: all look the same, don't you know.
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: It's just someone standing at a camera saying so all
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: of a sudden.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: He's a liar. Better than that, right.
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: Also, Newton's problem with Drake in the Patriots understandable.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: I think that Bill Belichick exposed Cam Newton at the
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: end of his career, and he doesn't.
- 1:10:23Speaker 15: Like that to do Drake. This is a kid that
- 1:10:25Speaker 15: has taken every opportunity to talk about how much it's
- 1:10:30Speaker 15: really mean to me.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: How did Bill Belichick wrong Cam Newton.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Because he came in here and and because of the
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: coaching that he was given, he couldn't handle it. And
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: everyone realized, Okay, he's done.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: Why couldn't he handle the coach?
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: It was just too tough.
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: I think it's the other way around. This is I
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: think this is an anti Patriots stance because the Patriots
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: fired Bill Belichick.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Now this is football.
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: That's why.
- 1:10:52Speaker 15: I think because Bill gave Cam a chance.
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: Bill was the only guy willing to allow Cam Newton
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: to continue playing football.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Either way, he doesn't like.
- 1:10:59Speaker 6: The well, can I push back, like, can I just say,
- 1:11:02Speaker 6: like I understand an opinion that the Patriots have beat
- 1:11:06Speaker 6: a bunch of bad teams and when it gets down
- 1:11:07Speaker 6: in the nitty gritty and they have to play somebody good,
- 1:11:09Speaker 6: that someone doesn't think that they're good enough, Like I understand.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: I know it's that, but I don't get the Drake
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: May part of it. And it does seem to be
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: something with Cam Newton and Drake.
- 1:11:17Speaker 15: May the first time he said something, and it's.
- 1:11:19Speaker 6: Sort of like really odd to me because Drake May
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: has been so complimentary of Cam Newton.
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: Drake said he was a Panthers fan until they let Cam.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: Go, right, So that's the part. And I wonder if
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: if Cam is really up to speed and all of that,
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: because that's that strikes me as the stuff that and
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: I loved when Cam was here, Like off field he
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: was fine, Like I hated watching him play every week
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: and I said it every week, but I mean listening
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: to him, he was you know, he was an interesting
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: guy to listen to. And I wonder, this seems to
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: me the kind of thing that he would eat up,
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: like this is a young guy. He loved the Panthers
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: and loved to watch me play, and that's kind of
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: the way he plays, you know, kind of with a
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: dual threat element to his game. I wonder if Cam
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: knows just how much May has spoken about his affinity
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: for Cam Newton.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. Well, I mean, he doesn't have
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: much to say on those shows that makes sense. So
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: I think they told him, if you're going to be
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: on the show, you got to be the one that
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: criticized the element that they have to have, like the
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: different roles. You've got to be the one that criticizes
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: the Patriots. It doesn't sound fun, but I just don't
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: like calling someone a liar, is you know, like a lot?
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: Yeah, and Stephen, is that an interesting run here last
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: couple of months?
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: And I agree with you guys. If if Drake and
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: I wasn't here, so I don't know what Drake said.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: But if Drake said I don't know what show Cam
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: Newton's on, I don't find that non believable at all.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: I didn't I find that.
- 1:12:50Speaker 6: Very If it was I don't know who Stephen A.
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: Smith is or what show he's on, Dad, I would
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: say that's a lie.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: But even then I know who Stephen A. Smith is
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: of course, I didn't know the name of that show.
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: You don't have to know the name of the show,
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: but you know he's on everything. He's Smith is.
- 1:13:07Speaker 15: Even if you do first take right, well, not keeping up, but.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: The first take part of it is irrelevant.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: It's Stephen a. You're saying like, oh, I don't know
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: who Stephen.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: That to me I would find non believable. But Cam Newton,
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: he's kind of new to this. I don't know if
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: everybody knows.
- 1:13:24Speaker 6: What shows and it's got really has like a rerun
- 1:13:28Speaker 6: to Get Up on our TV with esp news. I
- 1:13:30Speaker 6: don't know what time the show actually does air. I've
- 1:13:32Speaker 6: never watched it, but that point at like seven am, Like,
- 1:13:35Speaker 6: what are they sitting around watching First Take?
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: It here watching it?
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: But they know of it.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: I have never almost never watched that show.
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: If they know of it, it's from social media clips
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: and these kids if they even have ever watched these shows,
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: they haven't watched these shows since elementary school and and but.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: You know of them.
- 1:13:54Speaker 6: But even when you see it on social stop Get Up,
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: Get Up, First Take Take. What the name of the
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: show is is not really pertinent to this story.
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: It's exactly do you know Stephen A. Smith? No, you
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: know Cam Newton. Do not know that Cam Newton is
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: on you?
- 1:14:14Speaker 15: It's Today offended that because it's his show.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Correct.
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: He took it as a shot at him.
- 1:14:21Speaker 15: He took it as a shot out himself, right.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: That's why I think the name of the show is
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: not The name of the show is totally relevant Stephen A.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Smith. That's what Drake said. I don't know. I didn't
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: know he was on that or what show he's on
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: right right? So what show it is is relevant. I
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: don't know the names of these shows. I just see
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: the clips and I see Cam Newton like I see
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Stephen A. Smith. He's on every show on that stage
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: right right.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: And that's the point. You don't have to know the
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: show because it's just he is ESPN. And if Drake
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: may said I don't know that, but I wouldn't say
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: he was talking about Cam Newton exact. Find that highly believe. Yes,
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: I don't equate Cam Newton right now with all of
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: ESPN shows. Again, I don't care if it's Get Up, SportsCenter,
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: NFL Live First Take, They're all the same, and it's
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: all noise, They're all it's all noise.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: And then dan Orlovsky, I'm gonna run to the locker room.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: Like he's said some nice things about the Patriots.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: Danie Olosky has been one of the biggest cheerleaders of
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: the Patriots. All see now they were asked to come
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: up with a fatal flaw for all the playoff teams.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I just want to send saying that the Patriots
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: are playing too much nickel.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: He thinks that potentially could be a fatal flaw.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Which I say, all teams play mostly nickel.
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: They play the third most I believe in the league.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but the gap isn't that much because he thinks
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: they are, you know, the other teams.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: He's just worried about them doing that too much. I
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: would say that they're the number one run defense in football,
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: so obviously playing nickel to stop the run hasn't hurt them.
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: He thinks it will.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: Well, I don't know why everybody has to be a liar,
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: but like that's that's what I said, said.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: He's a liar.
- 1:16:00Speaker 15: If you have to find a flower with every who
- 1:16:03Speaker 15: said he's.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: A liar, why are you saying you just you just
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: I think you just said.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: He's I didn't say he's a liar.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: What did you say? I think he said he's making
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: stuff up that I think a hater again there is
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: I think he's wrong, and I said it on pelagram as.
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: I think that they've been outstanding stopping the run with
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: these lighter fronts. So why is it all of a
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: sudden you're gonna come.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: I think all these people are checking themselves because they're realizing,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: oh my god, I've been really complimentary of the patriots
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: so far. I gotta I gotta refer to do that.
- 1:16:39Speaker 6: So as Mina Kaim's a hater too. She thinks the
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: fatal flaw is the past defense. We can't do that
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: hat too.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: I haven't heard her it.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: It was on the same thing, what what what show?
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: Was on the very same thing NFL. It was on
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: the same thing that you just.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: I don't even know. Guess he does.
- 1:16:57Speaker 6: It's on the Twitter. Yeah, that's where these clips get
- 1:17:02Speaker 6: get life.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I have.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: I but you are doing right now what Steven A.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: Smith is accusing Drake may have doing being intentional.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: You don't know who Mena Times is. No, you don't
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: know that they're ones.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: I didn't say that do you know?
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: Do you know that they're ONESPN?
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: No, I didn't know what show it was. Do you
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: know I had no idea that they were on the
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: same show and you didn't know.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Okay, I didn't intentionally obtuse.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: Now he's calling me a liar.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: I didn't say that you're a liar. I said you're
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: being intentionally. I had you have to go out of
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: your way to not know that. You have to try
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: to not really, you're looking to me.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: I just want to let you cut. I'm just I'm
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: just like, I'm just wondering. I'm giving because I'm lighting
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: a match and walking away to keep track of all
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: these Yeah, I'm being accused of being obtuse. I just
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: went honestly, I just didn't know that they were on
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: the same show.
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: But it doesn't Again, why are you fixating on the show?
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: Who cares where they said it?
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: Like?
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: Why is that relevant to the store?
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: This is my whole I didn't even know she said it.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: Okay, Well I'm telling you she said this.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: Is she a hater? Yes?
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: Okay, I just want you to be consistent. I figured
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: you would say something different because most people don't think
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: of Mina Kimes that way, Okay, I don't think she's
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: a hater.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: They all hate us, I hate it. I don't.
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: I think they all love you. The last thing they
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: want is I think they're totally in love with the
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: Patriots right now when ESPAN it's a love fest every day.
- 1:18:23Speaker 15: Because of ratings.
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: Right, How good they had it when we were on
- 1:18:29Speaker 4: top for years and years and they drummed up narratives
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: against us because they hate us.
- 1:18:34Speaker 15: I believe, and now they're like, crap, we're struggling.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: I believe that.
- 1:18:37Speaker 15: Well, life was better for the networks and the Patriots
- 1:18:41Speaker 15: we're blowing everyone out.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: It was better for that network when they weren't just
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: bloviating about nonsense every day with Stephen A. Smith to
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: pull it all full circle, like it's all just yelling
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: at everybody every day and telling everybody what what they
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: should do and what they should do, and it's all
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: just fabricated arguments. That's why no one watches ESPN anymore.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: They don't do anything other ratings now. ESPN yeah terrible.
- 1:19:04Speaker 15: Really, Disney would love to.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: They would love to get rid of that Pat McAfee
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: show that no one cares about, but everybody knows it's there.
- 1:19:15Speaker 15: Well, it's on Twitter, on the Twitter, it's on YouTube.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: I know about it. I think Alex is right.
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: I think right now ESPN is embracing the Patriots because
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: I think it's good for ratings.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: Right. But now that it's a little bit of pushback,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: we can't be too much on the bandwagon, so.
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: We have to I'm just gonna try just to let
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: everybody know what actually happened is they're getting fatal flaws
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: for all the playoff teams.
- 1:19:41Speaker 15: That's why is much different, like stephen a is.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: It's much different than with Cam Newton. Cam Newton clearly
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: has some kind of acts to grind against the Patriots.
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: Calling Cam Newton an hater to me would be accurate.
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: When other people are asked to give a fatal flaw
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: to the Denver Broncos in the Indianapolis Colts and the
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: Kansas City Chiefs and the Patriots and they give one,
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: I don't classify that as being a hater. I classify
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: that as an exercise. What could derail a nine to
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: two team? Dean Rolofsky, in my mind, incorrectly states they
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: play too much nickel defense, which strikes me as a
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: guy who looks at the numbers on a spreadsheet and says, huh,
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: they've played this percentage of nickel defense, and you can't
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: do that nowadays, when a lot of teams are going
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: under center more often, they're loading up with multiple tight
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: ends and playing power football and throwing off of that.
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: And if you want to try to roll the dice
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: against say Indianapolis with Jonathan Taylor and play that way,
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: you're going to struggle. But he's not watching the games
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: every week to see how they're handling those kinds of
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: packages with great success to the point where they're number
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: one in the league run.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: Defense, right, incorrect, He's incorrect.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: I think he's incorrect. I said this yesterday on Felger.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: I think he knows he's incorrect too, and he's saying
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: it anyway.
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: I don't think you album is correct.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: I think the problem is they're just trying to, like
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: I guess, grasp at a straw to come up with
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: something to say for the segment, because that's the nature
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: of the segment. But then you have aggregators taking it,
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: posting a headline that says he said it a certain way.
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: You kind of strip it of the nuance and then
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: it just rolls there you go, dove climbing special.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: That's how it goes. That's how it goes. Let's get
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: back to the phones. Eight five to five past five hundred.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Todd's in North Carolina. I hate Todd.
- 1:21:30Speaker 5: Hey, guys, I was gonna bust Paul's balls a little bit,
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: but seeing that you did a good job of that thread,
- 1:21:35Speaker 5: I'll just kind of leave him alone and poor Alex
- 1:21:38Speaker 5: having to put up with your guys Statler and Waldor.
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: I live for it, can okay, So Paul take your
- 1:21:46Speaker 5: get your nitrogen pill or your nitral pill out. You're
- 1:21:49Speaker 5: gonna need it for your heart. Because I'm predicting the
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: Bengals win this thirty one to thirty, and they're gonna
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: put SPADs and get sticky on. They're gonna move Higgins
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: all over the place. I don't like the one of Gonzo,
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: and our run defense has been kind of exposed, so
- 1:22:03Speaker 5: I think they might be able to get Burrow, you know,
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: if he's got any moticum up of moment at all,
- 1:22:08Speaker 5: they might get him moving around. And I think that
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: this is going to be one of these games where
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: oh we got surprised, kind of like the Bengals did
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: last year by, as said, I don't feel good about this,
- 1:22:17Speaker 5: and I want my shirt when the Bengals win.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: I look forward to the Todd from North Carolina call
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: postgame show when you're you know, three sheets to the wind.
- 1:22:29Speaker 5: And I can't drink.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: I got a ten year old, and you're like and
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: and you're like, I was wrong. I you know, I'm
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: sorry because No, thirty one thirty, he's a little bit.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: He's not a hater, but he gets warried.
- 1:22:46Speaker 15: He's anxious.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: He gets very anxious.
- 1:22:49Speaker 15: He cares so much.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: He gets very anxious. Yeah, good fan. Uh, let's go
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: to Carry in Texas. What's up Carry?
- 1:23:00Speaker 21: Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call. I appreciate it.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: Go Pat got a lot of Texas calls today. There,
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: I know, holiday in Texas today.
- 1:23:10Speaker 21: We wish it's just the best date ever. But I
- 1:23:15Speaker 21: just had a question for y'all. What do you guys
- 1:23:17Speaker 21: think about like the red zone. That's the only thing
- 1:23:19Speaker 21: that concerned me because we were struggling a lot last game,
- 1:23:23Speaker 21: you know, again to just just trying to get it
- 1:23:25Speaker 21: into the end zone. I'm sorry not to git Tampa Bay,
- 1:23:29Speaker 21: and so I'm just concerned. That's my concern. What do
- 1:23:32Speaker 21: you guys, like, what are your thoughts? How are we
- 1:23:34Speaker 21: going to be more aggressive to make sure that once
- 1:23:36Speaker 21: we're there, we're going to get that touchdown.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: No matter what?
- 1:23:39Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: Okay, red zone, I think red zone offense has been fine.
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: Red zone defense has been a problem. But I mean
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: I think I think they've had I mean, just looking
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: at that Tampa game, they didn't really get to the
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: red zone all that often because they had the long
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: runs for Henderson in that game. But the Jets game,
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: I thought they had a couple of seven yard touchdown
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: runs for Henderson when they got down close. Yeah, they
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: got held to a field goal late in the game
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: after that fumble, which is that was disappointing when they
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: took over inside the ten and couldn't score. I mean, yeah,
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: I see what your point.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: Is, Carrie.
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: I do think there's been some inconsistency. But offensively, I
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: feel pretty good about the way that they've They've been
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: in the red zone. Defensively has been a problem.
- 1:24:33Speaker 15: To me, it's about like the run, getting the run
- 1:24:36Speaker 15: game going a little more.
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: For they haven't run the ball.
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: They haven't run it well that There's no question about that.
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: Because throwing into the red zone to make Carrie not
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: really knowing anything about this stuff, just like visually and conceptually,
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: to me, it would make sense that like a red zone,
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: it's a really condensed field. It's just packed with defenders.
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: So it's harder to get a target open unless you
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: have like a huge guy or guy to screw at
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: contested catches. So when you can just run the ball
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: and ram it in makes it easier.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: And that's just something they've struggled with.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: I agree. Our friends at ESPN of Texas saying they're
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: having their best ratings in a decade isn't here.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: That's because Alex will tell you because they're talking about
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: the Patriots to.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: The Patriots, So maybe the format works. Yeah, more shouting,
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: less highlights, right, nice?
- 1:25:23Speaker 12: Fred?
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: Uh, Eldrid Try Eldred's in North Carolina? What's what's up? Eldred?
- 1:25:28Speaker 17: Hey Fellas, Hey Alex, how you're doing? How you doing good?
- 1:25:31Speaker 15: How are you?
- 1:25:33Speaker 17: I'm okay? Fred steven A. Smith is the damn jerk.
- 1:25:37Speaker 17: I don't know, and I can't understand Cam except step
- 1:25:42Speaker 17: he's hating so I think you see and Drake would
- 1:25:45Speaker 17: he would have been if he intore the shoulder gets
- 1:25:48Speaker 17: in the Super Bowl.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: Oh, I think that's a but.
- 1:25:50Speaker 17: But but if he knew, they can't that Drake was
- 1:25:53Speaker 17: a cam Fagan. I think he had changed it.
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: Why doesn't he know that? I know he has to.
- 1:26:00Speaker 17: Well, I think, like I said, Cam is Cam. He
- 1:26:05Speaker 17: just he just ain't the same like it used to be.
- 1:26:08Speaker 17: He's about to lose me as a fan too, though.
- 1:26:10Speaker 17: But yeah, but Paul, yes, that lady on ESPN. I
- 1:26:17Speaker 17: don't worried about their passing their passing defenseause, like I.
- 1:26:21Speaker 6: Said, I think her fatal flower is a lot more
- 1:26:23Speaker 6: wise than than than Orlowski's is.
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: I agree.
- 1:26:26Speaker 17: Yeah, That's that's what I'm worried about. So they're blue
- 1:26:29Speaker 17: and coverage, everybody getting open, you know, or they're losing something,
- 1:26:32Speaker 17: and then they got that rush against that line like
- 1:26:35Speaker 17: it's supposed to be.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: So you know.
- 1:26:38Speaker 17: But but my prediction is twenty eight twenty one US.
- 1:26:42Speaker 17: So it was Cincinnati. That's what I'm looking at.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: Okay, all right, all right, y'all have a good one.
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Thanks Eldred.
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: You know I always tell you I'll take the win
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: no matter what. Sure, I'd be a little disappointed if
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: they only score twenty eight points, not gonna lie. Yeah,
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: that's how bad this defense is. Twenty eight wouldn't be enough.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: So if they only score twenty eight turnovers, you think
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: keeps it down or no? I don't know. I was
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: eld Eldred's prediction. I don't know. Yeah, you hung up
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: on him, couldn't explain it. He said, goodbye. I'm just kidding.
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: Why are you so defensive.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: Today, accusing me of stuff?
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: I'm not accusing you of anything.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: Having DJ's in Arizona? What's up, DJ, Harry, what's up everybody?
- 1:27:27Speaker 12: I hope they all are having a great day today.
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: You too, Yes, yes, thank you, thank you.
- 1:27:33Speaker 22: So my thing is I've been a Patriots fan for
- 1:27:36Speaker 22: a long time. I'm twenty six all my life, and
- 1:27:39Speaker 22: I think Cam Newton is for sure being a hater.
- 1:27:43Speaker 22: And I also agree that the show is important because
- 1:27:48Speaker 22: Drake May said that he didn't know what show Cam
- 1:27:51Speaker 22: Newton was on. So I think the show does matter. Yes,
- 1:27:55Speaker 22: knowing their names does, But I think the show matters
- 1:27:58Speaker 22: because that was.
- 1:27:58Speaker 12: The comment that he made, right.
- 1:28:00Speaker 22: It wasn't necessarily attacking.
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: I get it, But the point is he doesn't know
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: Cam Newton, what show Kim where Cam Newton is.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: That's what it said.
- 1:28:07Speaker 6: I know if he had said I don't know where
- 1:28:09Speaker 6: Stephen A. Smith is, I would say I'm kind of
- 1:28:12Speaker 6: with Smith. He probably I don't think he's lying. I
- 1:28:15Speaker 6: don't think he knows what show Cam Newton's I don't
- 1:28:17Speaker 6: think a lot of people know the show. That's the
- 1:28:21Speaker 6: whole point. J.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: I'm with you. I'm with dj R. I am with you. DJ.
- 1:28:28Speaker 22: I'm saying I don't think that it's not important to
- 1:28:31Speaker 22: know the show. It is important because he said it
- 1:28:35Speaker 22: was directed to the show that Cam Newton was on.
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: Correct, he doesn't know Cam Newton's on it. That's the point.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: But you said it's not important.
- 1:28:43Speaker 6: I don't think the show, the specific show is because
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: he doesn't know Cam Newton's on it.
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: No one knows that camp. This is a new thing.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: Cam Newton is just new to the show. Okay, he
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: doesn't know where Cam Newton.
- 1:28:54Speaker 6: I understand with them too, it's irrelevant because it's about
- 1:28:58Speaker 6: Cam Newton.
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: He's saying it is. Really I am too.
- 1:29:01Speaker 15: Brought up a good point to me, Thank you.
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: DJ.
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: How Aldred said like he's just jealous of Drake, and
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: I think when you're really like insecurity when you see
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: someone who kind of has what you don't, so to speak,
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: I think I just think that.
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: I just think he's trying to be sensational, you know,
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: like it's it's just what am I going to say
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: to make headlines?
- 1:29:25Speaker 15: Maybe you know I would have more grace. You have
- 1:29:29Speaker 15: more grace to a kid that for a really long time.
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: My point is, I think it was a shot at
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: cam Newton, not as Stephen A.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: Smith.
- 1:29:37Speaker 15: I don't think it was a shot.
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: I don't think it was a shot. I didn't know
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: he was on that show, all right. So this is
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: where I'm going to separate.
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: If you guys don't think Cam Newton, I mean, Drake
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: may knows that what's being said and not said.
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: That's not what he said, does I know?
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: But my point is it was a shot at Cam Newton.
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: I don't even know where he is, that's what he
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: I don't know where he's saying.
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: Okay things textbook player speak for shooting down, like a
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: reporter who's trying to give you bulletin board materials. Right,
- 1:30:07Speaker 4: He's like, oh no, we're blocking out the noise.
- 1:30:10Speaker 15: I don't know what that show is.
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: I don't know where he I don't know where he's
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: what show he's one. That's a shot at Cam Newton.
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: I agree.
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: I'm with you, guys, don't We're saying the same thing.
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: We're just interpreting it different ways.
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: That's all because I don't necessarily take it as a shot.
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: I take it as just Drake trying to get out
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: of a question.
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: I just think it's very understandable that people don't know
- 1:30:34Speaker 3: where Cam Newton appears to give these opinions.
- 1:30:38Speaker 15: I think that's going to be the newsletter poll this week.
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: I think it's Drake. I think Drake May is very believable.
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: I think he has no idea where Cam Newton said that.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: I'm with him because I didn't either.
- 1:30:52Speaker 6: I didn't and as you make fun of me all
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: the time for watching too much of this crap, I
- 1:30:57Speaker 6: mean it's I don't watch that show.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: I'll tell you that it's on in the morning, like
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: we're working. Most people are working, you know, so I
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: don't know. And like you said, you see it on
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: social media, but there's not like a headline this was
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: set on this show. You just see the clip. Yeah,
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: they'll be like a little bug and they the same.
- 1:31:16Speaker 15: Yeah, how do you keep trying.
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: To Drake Drake may alone. Just let him play football.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: Just let him play football. Just let Drake play. We
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: have to bother him with these things.
- 1:31:29Speaker 6: Oh we're back, terrible, We're back, baby dance in Daytona.
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: What's up?
- 1:31:35Speaker 12: Ding?
- 1:31:37Speaker 5: Hey?
- 1:31:37Speaker 9: Can you guys hear me?
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:31:39Speaker 17: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:31:41Speaker 9: So I meant to call it the last couple of days.
- 1:31:44Speaker 9: I wanted to get Paul Stake and Freda, Well, I'd
- 1:31:47Speaker 9: rather get get all your guys take on this.
- 1:31:50Speaker 12: Do you remember back.
- 1:31:51Speaker 9: Paul in the beginning season, what the season started. We
- 1:31:54Speaker 9: were all talking maybe maybe the team was going to go,
- 1:31:58Speaker 9: you know, at best eight and nine, was feeling I
- 1:32:00Speaker 9: remember friend saying he thought they'd go nine and eight.
- 1:32:05Speaker 9: But now we're fast forward to the middle of season
- 1:32:09Speaker 9: until now, you know, I was saying, back before they
- 1:32:12Speaker 9: played the Bills and the Bucks, I was thinking maybe
- 1:32:15Speaker 9: we were probably at best ten and seven. Then I
- 1:32:18Speaker 9: revised it again. I said, all right, maybe twelve and five.
- 1:32:23Speaker 9: But I think at this point, if the Patriots could
- 1:32:25Speaker 9: literally just stay healthy and managed to keep playing the
- 1:32:29Speaker 9: way they've been doing it every single week, I don't
- 1:32:31Speaker 9: see why we can't go fifteen and two and everyone
- 1:32:33Speaker 9: keeps bringing up more hot and I'm being dead. I
- 1:32:37Speaker 9: think some people are out here saying, oh, Baltimore's getting hot,
- 1:32:40Speaker 9: and if Joe Burrow comes back, and I mean, I
- 1:32:43Speaker 9: think all that's irrelevant. Maybe the only thing that holds
- 1:32:45Speaker 9: water is maybe Baltimore, but we still don't know, so
- 1:32:50Speaker 9: I just want to get y'all stink of that. Do
- 1:32:51Speaker 9: you think we can go fifteen to two?
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: Or they can, of course, but I think it's more
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: likely they go something like thirteen if h four to
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: thirteen and.
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: Four, yeah, I mean they have two losses, so yes,
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: you can go fifteen and two.
- 1:33:06Speaker 15: Writing a wind streak into the playoffs would make me
- 1:33:09Speaker 15: a little nervous. Now, that's the most like a really weird,
- 1:33:13Speaker 15: superstitious thing.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: I know some people say drop a game, even too.
- 1:33:17Speaker 15: I'll take it deep postseason run.
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: Yeah, the division is the important thing to me, even
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: more so than the number one seed, although if they
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: have a chance for the number one seed, that's enormous.
- 1:33:27Speaker 3: But if you win the division, you put yourself in
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: position to make a run. If you have to do
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: it on the road the whole way, that makes it
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: infinitely harder.
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: Andrew and Louisiana writes in all I know is Drake
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: may would have jumped on the ball cam. There you go,
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: There you go, Mike drop, Mike drop jacket and arbor.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: Maybe Fred is not being intentionally up to. Maybe Fred
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: is just jejune. You know what that means? You're probably right.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: I don't know what jajun means. I've heard the word,
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: but I don't know what it means.
- 1:34:06Speaker 15: I don't even know how I would look that up.
- 1:34:08Speaker 15: How do you spell that?
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: J e j u n e okay, jejune?
- 1:34:13Speaker 15: Get right on that.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm afraid to know what it means. Let's see.
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: Noah in Iowa City rights in we're waiting for Deuce
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: by the way, right, we can't start the pitch start
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: picks until gets back.
- 1:34:28Speaker 15: Uh.
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: Noa in Iowa City, just beginning college. I wanted to
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: ask you guys a question about careers in football.
- 1:34:35Speaker 10: What.
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know this was going to be a
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: career advice question. There's a lot of careers in football.
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: Career workshop. Are you an analyst? You could be one
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: of the tight pants people. Are you a trainer? You
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: could be from the locker? Thank god, it was the
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: mood where the players friendly.
- 1:34:54Speaker 9: To that none of them looked like Devin Henry.
- 1:34:57Speaker 15: Hey, Mike, what was it like?
- 1:35:03Speaker 23: Like?
- 1:35:03Speaker 18: What was it like?
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: All right, Mike, what was it like? In the locker row.
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: About ten minutes ago they let us in a little late,
- 1:35:12Speaker 6: but to get to talk to Jalen Hawkins, who was
- 1:35:15Speaker 6: asked about, you know, the difference between facing Flacco and
- 1:35:18Speaker 6: Burrow said, you know, we really don't know, but we
- 1:35:21Speaker 6: have to prepare similar kinds of players, but they seem
- 1:35:25Speaker 6: as much in the dark as we are talking about it.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: And the other funny thing.
- 1:35:28Speaker 6: Which I think I thought about it wasn't here, but
- 1:35:30Speaker 6: Rabel played against young Joe Flacco.
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: Uh Rabel's last game ever? Was it really?
- 1:35:36Speaker 6: So?
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: He's asked about that. He was.
- 1:35:37Speaker 6: He was a little bit like, man, I can't believe
- 1:35:39Speaker 6: that kind of connecting those those two worlds. But otherwise,
- 1:35:43Speaker 6: just some talk about who the fastest member of the
- 1:35:45Speaker 6: team is. Some debate about that going on. Obviously Travan
- 1:35:48Speaker 6: Henderson in that conversation, Kyle Williams, Marcus Jones, and and
- 1:35:52Speaker 6: Brendan Schooler.
- 1:35:53Speaker 20: Were the.
- 1:35:55Speaker 3: Hawkins wasn't willing to commit to anybody, but leaning Trayvon hunder.
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: I think that's just like game speed.
- 1:36:02Speaker 6: Uh that's where i'd lane, But it was we could
- 1:36:04Speaker 6: have used Evan who uh saw him talking to Barth.
- 1:36:06Speaker 6: I didn't see him really Yeah, now I on Evan
- 1:36:09Speaker 6: talking to Barth a little bit. But Hawkins asked, He's like,
- 1:36:11Speaker 6: well were the forty times from the combine? And I
- 1:36:13Speaker 6: was like, where's Evan? Because Evan w probably just be like, well,
- 1:36:15Speaker 6: you know, he knows them all rattle him off, but
- 1:36:18Speaker 6: but good, good energy, you know, lively locker room. Hawkins
- 1:36:21Speaker 6: also said, you know, the week, a couple of days off,
- 1:36:23Speaker 6: nice to get away, but overall feels like they're they're
- 1:36:26Speaker 6: picking up right where they left off, trying to get
- 1:36:28Speaker 6: back out there and go get a winning Since.
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: Anyone ask people like, you know, if Joe have you
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: heard of Joe Burrow might play? Yeah?
- 1:36:35Speaker 6: Yeah, that was actually yeah, well that's what he said.
- 1:36:37Speaker 6: He said, we just we don't show you got to prepare.
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: But I mean, he said, you know, it's kind of
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: what we talked about the beginning.
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: They similar players.
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: It's not like you're trying to prepare for Lamar Jackson
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: or a pocket passers.
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: So guys who are.
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: Smart can get the ball out quick and then you
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: know know where.
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: To go with it. So yeah, that was a kind
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: of it. All right, Well we got a hurry because
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: it's that time of the week, Paul, what happened last week?
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: Same as it always was.
- 1:37:02Speaker 6: Fred kersh twelve and three the top of a heap,
- 1:37:07Speaker 6: followed by Alex Evan and myself at ten and five, and.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: Mike, how about eight and seven? Do better? That's pretty bad?
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: Be better?
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: Kind of right with the spread? Evan and Fred oh
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: seven and eight.
- 1:37:24Speaker 6: Seven and eight, Oh, tough week with us week, Paul
- 1:37:28Speaker 6: six and nine, nice, Mike and Alex five and ten.
- 1:37:33Speaker 6: So season standings are as follows Alex one eleven fifty
- 1:37:38Speaker 6: two and one, followed by Fred one oh nine fifty
- 1:37:41Speaker 6: four and one, so still close at the top. Mike
- 1:37:44Speaker 6: maintains his third place one O three sixty and one,
- 1:37:48Speaker 6: followed by Me one hundred and sixty three and one
- 1:37:51Speaker 6: and Evan ninety eight sixty five and one.
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: With the spread, it's really a one man race. It's
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: all over at this point. Fred eighty nine and seven
- 1:38:00Speaker 3: seventy five, Alex, Evan and Paul are all tied for
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: second at seventy nine and eighty five, So ten games
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: back week and Mike seventy one and ninety three.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not going good all right. So as I said,
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: I think there's some really interesting games this week, and
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: we start with tonight on eight fifteen on Prime. It's
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills at seven and three visiting the Houston
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: Texans at five and five. Houston Texans, Houston Texans, Houston?
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: Is that a Is that a song? Actually it's Houston Oilers.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: So my Miami Dolphins stole that from the Houston Oilers.
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, all right, I didn't know he just went
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: into song and I'm just so, you know, wondering. I
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: really don't know who stole it. Usually they both sang
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: the same.
- 1:38:48Speaker 6: Song, like in the San Diego Superchargers Houston oil seventy song.
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: I don't know who stole it from who, but we
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: stole it. I believe Oilers started it. Anyway, what's the
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: what's the number?
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: I'm sorry Buffalo by five and a half oohoof No
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: DJ Stroud, no Roud.
- 1:39:10Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, Houston's defense getting a lot of respect.
- 1:39:13Speaker 6: But I just I think Buffalo is going to continue
- 1:39:16Speaker 6: to make a push here. I'm gonna take the Bills,
- 1:39:18Speaker 6: and I'm gonna lay the points that.
- 1:39:20Speaker 15: Will take the Bills. I will lay the points.
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: I will take the Bills to win, but I will
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: take the points.
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: Thursday Night games I think are generally slogs, so I
- 1:39:30Speaker 3: don't envision Buffalo putting up a ton of points in
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: this one.
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: I will take the points as well. I wish I
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: could take it outright, but I can't do that. But yes,
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: I will take the points all right. Sunday at one
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: on CBS, it's the Jets at two and eight against
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: the Ravens at five and five.
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: Baltimore by thirteen and a half.
- 1:39:54Speaker 20: Woo.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of big spreads this week. And I
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: saw Lamar was missing from practice yesterday, same as last week, so.
- 1:40:02Speaker 6: Maybe a little bit of a rest shoot. If Ady
- 1:40:06Speaker 6: Mitchell could catch the ball, I might take the points.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: But I'm gonna take Baltimore. Yeh God, I'm a little
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: bit torn. That'll lay the points, stupid Jets.
- 1:40:18Speaker 15: I'm kind of feeling what Mike is feeling. I don't
- 1:40:21Speaker 15: know how I feel about that. I'll take the Ravens
- 1:40:24Speaker 15: to win. Spread one more time and a half.
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: Two tuddies Jets cover.
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: I'm going to take Baltimore and I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: I think people are going to overreact to the Cleveland
- 1:40:37Speaker 3: game being closer, you know, sort of not realizing some
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: of the fluky things that happened to keep that game closer.
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: I think the Ravens. I think the Ravens will lay
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: the wood.
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: I was tempted to make this a loser lock game.
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: I'm not going to do that, but I will take
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: the points. Baltimore wins, but they do not cover. Sunday
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: at one on CBS, it's Pittsburgh at six and four,
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: at Chicago at seven and three, Chicago by two and
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: a half like that number.
- 1:41:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna go with Chicago. I don't know what's
- 1:41:15Speaker 6: up without Aaron Rodgers. Like I thought, you know, broken
- 1:41:18Speaker 6: left wrist would be enough to keep him out, but
- 1:41:20Speaker 6: it seems like he's gonna give it a go.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: Maybe it's the left wrist, I know, but still tough
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: to take that snap. Yeah, I don't know. You're gonna
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: get hit, probably, and he's already doesn't like to be hit.
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: I'll take Chicago at home on lay the points.
- 1:41:30Speaker 15: I'm gonna take Chicago too.
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I know the Bears are winning. I haven't been
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: overly impressed with most of the wins, but I'm gonna
- 1:41:41Speaker 3: I'm gonna take them to.
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: Win a game.
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: Maybe a slight step up in opponent Pittsburgh. This is
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: more pick against Pittsburgh than four.
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: Yeah, me too. I'm gonna take the Bears Sunday at one,
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: the Giants at two and nine at the Detroit Lions
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: six and.
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: Four the Big Box, now the big spread, Lions by
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: ten and a half.
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: Oh boy, that is a lot. Uh yeah.
- 1:42:08Speaker 6: I know that they're not quite doing what they did
- 1:42:11Speaker 6: last year, but i'll take I'll take Detroit.
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: I'll lay the points too, So Lions.
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna lay the points. Lions looked terrible last week.
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: I think generally they bounce back and score a ton
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: of points.
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: Yeah, lay those points on this one. Sunday at one
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: on Fox Minnesota at four and six at green Bay
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: six three and one, green Bay by six and a half.
- 1:42:34Speaker 12: Mmmm.
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: The the JJ McCarthy stuffs kind of cracked me out.
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: A lot of he's catching a lot of flak out there,
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: and I thought he looked pretty good in the joint
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: practices with the Patriots.
- 1:42:46Speaker 6: But I like green Bay at home. They're wishy washy.
- 1:42:49Speaker 6: They beat good team, they beat bad teams. They struggle
- 1:42:51Speaker 6: against good teams. I'll take green Bay, lay the points.
- 1:42:54Speaker 6: I'll take green Bay, but you like nine.
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: I just feel like they have been a weird team.
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: Green Bay like they lose game, you know, lose to Cleveland,
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: they lose to whoever, Carolina, and you think that they
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: would blow doors off. I'm just gonna tell at some
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: point they got to live up to their potential. I'm
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: gonna take green Bay both ways.
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: Ye, green Bay both ways at home. Uh, Sunday at
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: one on CBS, here's the game Indy eight and two at.
- 1:43:25Speaker 6: K C five and five, case By three and a half.
- 1:43:31Speaker 6: We'll have a game on this on this one and
- 1:43:33Speaker 6: eye on this one. I should say, yeah, I gotta
- 1:43:36Speaker 6: I'm gonna bet on Patrick Mahomes. I just think Indianapolis
- 1:43:40Speaker 6: traveling outside like Jonathan Taylor. I think it's close, but
- 1:43:43Speaker 6: I think Kansas City does enough. I'll lay the points.
- 1:43:46Speaker 15: Can you be the spread for me? One three and
- 1:43:48Speaker 15: a half for Casey.
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Colts.
- 1:43:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: I could definitely make a good argument for the cold.
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: I'll split it though. I'll take Casey to win the game,
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: just because of how desperate they are. If they lose
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: this one, they can't really lose again. So I think
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: they can find a way to get this win. But
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: I will take the points. I'll take the hook, the hook.
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go with Indy to win, right, Indy
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: to win. Good. It wouldn't be good for the Patriots.
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: But no, I know, do I really want to do that? Yeah,
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: because you get confused.
- 1:44:33Speaker 15: No, it hurts his heart, but it hurts his head.
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: It's hurting his head. I really want I want both
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: teams to lose. And that's the problem. You know, you Casey,
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: you know you're stick sticking the dagger in him. It
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: could be the death blow. But Indy, I don't want
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: them to win. Yeah, I'm gonna just go with Indy.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: It's just my gut, all right. Seattle seven and three
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: at Tennessee one and nine.
- 1:45:01Speaker 6: Fox yet another month, Seattle by thirteen and a half,
- 1:45:05Speaker 6: then uh like one, two, double Digital, the four, five, six,
- 1:45:14Speaker 6: seven of a touchdown or more.
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: A lot of big spreads this week.
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: I'll take Seattle and I'm gonna I'm gonna lay the
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: points too.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: I think Sam Donald bounce back.
- 1:45:23Speaker 15: I'm gonna take Seattle. Mhm, Titans.
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take Seattle both ways. For the reasons
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: that Mike said their offense was bad last week. Donald
- 1:45:39Speaker 3: with four picks, I think they bounced back.
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: Yeah. Tennessee doesn't strike me as a team that's you know, oh,
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: they got a bad record, but they're frisky. Then not frisky.
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: I'll take risky last week, but I'll take Seattle to cover. Okay,
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: Now we skip over the Patriots at one o'clock and
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: we go to four h five, the Jaguars at six
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: and four at the three and seven Cardinals.
- 1:46:03Speaker 6: One of the rare low spreads Jacksonville by three. Yeah,
- 1:46:09Speaker 6: that sounds like a good number six jackson another tough
- 1:46:12Speaker 6: team to get a beat on him, assuming it's obviously
- 1:46:14Speaker 6: Jacoby Brissette again Jesus, Yeah, I'll take Jacksonville.
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: Only broke my boys record last week. It was crazy completion.
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: He was terrible in the game, but complete a lot
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: of passes. Jacksonville both twas.
- 1:46:26Speaker 15: Yes, Please Jacksonville lay the points.
- 1:46:30Speaker 20: Uh.
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: I hate this.
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: I hate having any faith at all in Jacksonville.
- 1:46:37Speaker 6: This is exactly the kind of game that they lay
- 1:46:39Speaker 6: in Eggin, but I'll take the Jags.
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: Folks, this is your lack of the week. Jacksonville covers.
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: This is an easy one for said the disdain. It's
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: another one, you know.
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: Again, I don't like to tell you what you should
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: think and what you should do, but this is one
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: you should be rooting for Jacksonville to win that game.
- 1:47:04Speaker 3: If you're a Patriots fan, you want to get rid
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: of the Chiefs. If you're really worry about.
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: The Chiefs, you throw through these scenarios more than I have.
- 1:47:11Speaker 3: Paul, I'm surprised, really, not that hard.
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: Yea Sunday at four five the two and eight Cleveland
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: Browns at the Raiders two and eight.
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: Now there's a game for you. Vegas by three and
- 1:47:23Speaker 3: a half. Yeah, Pete Carroll continues to believe in Gino Smith.
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: Maybe you're you're eleven. It'll he'll get it.
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: Brown should do it four for sixteen.
- 1:47:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I think is going to have a rough go
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: of it with Matt Crosby. I'm going to take Vegas
- 1:47:39Speaker 6: all ay the points.
- 1:47:41Speaker 15: I'll take the Raiders too.
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: God, Wow, the tough one. I'll take it. I'll just
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: take the two bad teams. I'll take the home team.
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: I know Sanders had a really horrible game. I didn't
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: see it, but he never played with the starters before.
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: Just awful.
- 1:47:57Speaker 6: Yeah, I saw it, but I the zone, the red
- 1:48:00Speaker 6: zone clips, I didn't see the game itself is clockwork orange.
- 1:48:04Speaker 6: He's got a full weeks on the second snap and
- 1:48:07Speaker 6: threw a pick on his fourth.
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: Yeah, oh god, I'm gonna go with Cleveland to win
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: this game.
- 1:48:12Speaker 6: Wow wow, yeap, not a lot when they when when
- 1:48:15Speaker 6: Dion starts taking receipts, we know Fred Fretz cover happen.
- 1:48:19Speaker 3: These are two bad only one man believe Fred Kersh
- 1:48:22Speaker 3: from Patriots.
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: Anybody could win that.
- 1:48:24Speaker 15: Get them on the show.
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: Sunday four twenty five on Fox. The Eagles at eight
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: and two are at the Cowboys four five and one,
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: Philly by three. No respect for the Eagles.
- 1:48:35Speaker 6: Yeah no, I mean Dallas hit a lot of people back.
- 1:48:39Speaker 6: I mean added obviously on on defense with Williams. I'm
- 1:48:42Speaker 6: gonna go with the upset on this one.
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: Yeah. I just got a vibe on this.
- 1:48:50Speaker 15: I think the Cowboys cover, but don't lose close.
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: Game Philly, and you'll take the points.
- 1:48:56Speaker 6: I also saw a stat mate. Sorry ox, I didn't
- 1:48:58Speaker 6: say that I don't think dak Pressco Is lost at
- 1:49:00Speaker 6: home in the NFC East since like twenty seventeen.
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take Dallas to win the game too.
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: Maybe I'm being taking the cheese because of the Raiders,
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: and I know that was more about the Raiders, but
- 1:49:12Speaker 3: I thought with Quinn Williams in there and over showing back,
- 1:49:15Speaker 3: that defense looked a little better to me. And with
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: the Eagle struggles, I think I think Dallas will have
- 1:49:20Speaker 3: a chance to win this game.
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: I agree, Paul, I'm gonna go with Dallas. I got
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: a field this week. I'm gonna either be really good
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: or epically bad. I'm gonna go with that. I feel
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: I'm the only one who's epically back. Sunday four, twenty five,
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: Atlanta at three and seven at the Saints two and eight.
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: Saints by one and a half. A lot of toilet
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: bowls this week, Cleveland at Vegas, Atlanta at New Orleans.
- 1:49:46Speaker 6: You get your divisions, Jesus shooting, Kirk Cousins playing man.
- 1:49:51Speaker 6: I don't know what to do on this one. This Yeah,
- 1:49:53Speaker 6: you know what I'm gonna go with just Kirk Cousins.
- 1:49:55Speaker 6: I guess I'm gonna go with Atlanta the upset.
- 1:49:58Speaker 15: Marginally, I'm just gonna go with a spread on this one, Saints.
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: So that's normally my theory. With two bad teams, I
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: take the home team.
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: I close. I don't know why.
- 1:50:12Speaker 3: There's no reason to think this, but for some reason,
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: I think if Atlanta is a different level of bad
- 1:50:16Speaker 3: team than New Orleans. So I'm gonna take Atlanta. But
- 1:50:19Speaker 3: that's stupid, that's given away.
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going with Atlanta to Sunday eight twenty Tampa
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: Bay six and four at the Rams eight and two.
- 1:50:30Speaker 3: The ROMs by six and a half.
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: That's a big spread. Oh, I like this one.
- 1:50:34Speaker 6: This is I say it manytime, my favorite time. After
- 1:50:37Speaker 6: the Patriots one o'clock game. You get home, you got
- 1:50:39Speaker 6: everything done, you're enjoying yourself, and then a nice night
- 1:50:42Speaker 6: Sunday night game. Well it's fifteen minutes away, so there.
- 1:50:47Speaker 6: But I'm gonna go with the ROMs and I'm gonna
- 1:50:49Speaker 6: but I'm gonna take the points for Baker little Frisky.
- 1:50:53Speaker 6: You know they gotta they gotta start making a push.
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: So yeah, I have to like their instrument Bucks cover
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: Rams Win Bucks cover. Yes, I will take the ROMs
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: both ways.
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: I'm with Alex Rams win but don't cover.
- 1:51:10Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: Monday Night eight fifteen, ESPN, ESPN Deportus Carolina six and
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: five at the forty nine Ers seven and four, No
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: Winers by seven.
- 1:51:22Speaker 6: Get to watch my Panthers go, Paul, This is exciting
- 1:51:25Speaker 6: for me. Uh, I'm gonna take San Francisco at home.
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: I'll lay the points.
- 1:51:29Speaker 15: Retweet.
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:51:31Speaker 3: This is the off week for the Panthers, so they
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: look like they'd never played before. Niners.
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go with Niners. Pretty bad.
- 1:51:42Speaker 15: Last week.
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: Mac shone is going to be on a different team
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: next year.
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: I believe he's under contracts. Oh really unless they trade him,
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: trade him. Yeah, they could trade him, but I don't
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: think they will, and I think I think, but I think.
- 1:51:54Speaker 15: I'm pretty happy there.
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: Will he start whining? I want to go, well, yes,
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: because that's what he does.
- 1:51:59Speaker 3: He's wines right like I don't want to go New one.
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: Okay, that's not fair. That was that was the spot
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: for him. That that was, that was call for. Now
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: we go back to one o'clock and it's the New
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: England Patriots at nine and two visiting the Bengals at
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: three and seven.
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: You had another monster spread Pats by seven seven.
- 1:52:26Speaker 15: Even move speculation.
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: Has not moved with the Borrows move. That's a good
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: number though. I like New England on this one.
- 1:52:36Speaker 6: There's just no excuse for Drake May and the offense
- 1:52:39Speaker 6: not to light this Bengals defense up.
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: If Burrow plays it might, you know, be a look.
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: At that spread today, Paul, I did, okay, double check them? Yeah,
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: give me the Patriots. How I didn't you score? I'm
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: going to say what I do on Monday. I went
- 1:52:52Speaker 3: really low and really went low.
- 1:52:53Speaker 15: Paul went high.
- 1:52:54Speaker 6: I'm going to go a little higher this time. I'm
- 1:52:55Speaker 6: going to say, uh, Patriots thirty four to seventeen.
- 1:53:01Speaker 15: I forget what I said Monday too. I think it
- 1:53:03Speaker 15: was Patriots' thirty one or Patriots thirty three, and it's
- 1:53:11Speaker 15: like they flip corn give them seventeen points.
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: That's why I'm in last place.
- 1:53:17Speaker 12: I am.
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: I am very bullish on the Patriots offense this week.
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: I think they score early and often a little bit
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: of a stat padding game for Drake May and one.
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: For the MVP resume.
- 1:53:28Speaker 6: Three hundred yards, maybe three hundred yards for the first
- 1:53:30Speaker 6: time in his career, maybe four touchdowns for the first
- 1:53:33Speaker 6: time in.
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: His career, telling Francisco thirty eight twenty four Patriots.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: I like it. I like it. I'll do one better
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: forty two forty two to twenty one Patriots. Let's do
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: it forty Harold Landry two sacks, Wow.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: Sad all right?
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: Two SATs for two days after Francisco. I'm an Arrol Lander.
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: Want to note this, here's a bold take, Landry?
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: Any other bol takes that people have, any like predictions?
- 1:54:04Speaker 17: Uh?
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: Paul predicted over three hundred yards for Drake May. He
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: said May, But I mean that's what I'm looking at.
- 1:54:11Speaker 3: I wouldn't necessarily call that a bold take, even though
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: he's never done it. I mean that's I would go
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: all Fred and go semantics and say, well he's never
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: done it. Well, he's never done it.
- 1:54:19Speaker 6: In terms of, you know, bonuses likely to be earned
- 1:54:23Speaker 6: to us for like two eighty every week, but you know,
- 1:54:25Speaker 6: twenty more this week.
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: I'll go Kayshan Boody hundred yards. You know, a couple couple.
- 1:54:33Speaker 15: Britt out for deep ball touchdown for Booty. But I'll
- 1:54:37Speaker 15: ride with yours because I like that.
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: But team Boody, who has more rushing yards? Henderson or Stevenson,
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: Henderson tough, It's tough. I don't even know if Stevens
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: is going to play. That's why I picked he. I
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: know he's going to play.
- 1:54:52Speaker 3: About Terrell Jennings or Remandra Stevenson, who.
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: Has more receiving yards, Hunter Henry or Henderson Hunt Hunter Hunt. Okay,
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: they'll call him Hunt the locker Hunt. That's what they
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: call that's his nickname.
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: That's some of the flavors. Maybe you should give us
- 1:55:15Speaker 3: when you return from.
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: How many times do the Patriots punt in this game? Twice? Twice?
- 1:55:21Speaker 15: Three times?
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: Once?
- 1:55:23Speaker 15: Okay?
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: Once?
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to predict the punts come in the
- 1:55:27Speaker 3: second half of a blowout.
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Does Josh Dobbs get in yes? Wow? To take
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: the knee.
- 1:55:36Speaker 3: Well to finish the game. I don't know if he's
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: going to take a knee.
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: All right, one more call. I don't think this game
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: is going to be close. I don't know.
- 1:55:43Speaker 6: I'm reading between the lines with what you're selling, Paul,
- 1:55:46Speaker 6: and I think I got that.
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: I hope you're right, Paul.
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: Like a couple of people have told me that this
- 1:55:50Speaker 3: is not just the worst defense in football, No, it's
- 1:55:53Speaker 3: the worst of all times.
- 1:55:55Speaker 6: Like the set according to d v AWA, which is,
- 1:55:57Speaker 6: you know, an advanced stat that they've used track, it's this.
- 1:56:01Speaker 6: According to that stat this is the worst defensive all
- 1:56:03Speaker 6: time of all time since they started tracking since what
- 1:56:06Speaker 6: I don't know how.
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: I think it's nineteen eighty nineteen eighty something, that's about right, Yep, yeah, yeah,
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: because I remember, you know, the Providence Steamrollers that one
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: year had a bad day. They couldn't stop. Now, they
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: couldn't stop, and no matter what they did, no one
- 1:56:21Speaker 1: was over two hundred pounds. That was all Bart Scott. Yep.
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: That poor coach couldn't get them to listen. Casey fired
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: them at the end of the year. I recall Casey's
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: in North Carolina. What's up, Casey? Is that all real?
- 1:56:32Speaker 8: No?
- 1:56:33Speaker 23: Hey, first off, at Nation Baby, let's.
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: Go, let's go defend the wall.
- 1:56:39Speaker 12: I'm so happy I'm.
- 1:56:40Speaker 23: Not sitting in front of my TV praying for Bailey
- 1:56:42Speaker 23: Zappy to come in. But on that thing with Cam
- 1:56:47Speaker 23: Newton calling out Drake may Man kind of hurt because, like,
- 1:56:51Speaker 23: I'm in North Carolina, North Carolina Border Rays. I have
- 1:56:54Speaker 23: a Cam Newton Patriots jersey, so like so does Drake
- 1:56:58Speaker 23: may I'm all for Drake. You know, I think that's
- 1:57:03Speaker 23: kind of fly. You know, he should have be doing
- 1:57:04Speaker 23: all that, but let's go, let's go Patriots.
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: Okay, But it's just kind of case.
- 1:57:10Speaker 6: He spark like an internal civil war in North Carolina,
- 1:57:13Speaker 6: like the Cam Newton's in the area.
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: I just don't get it. Like, like Alex said, does
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: he know how Drake feels about him? Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: Maybe you should write him a letter, you know. I
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: just I don't. I don't get it. I don't get it,
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: all right, it makes no sense.
- 1:57:27Speaker 3: Does Drake has been over the top complimentary of Cam Newton?
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: It makes no sense.
- 1:57:32Speaker 15: And I've never taken Cam to be like that. Like
- 1:57:34Speaker 15: I think there's an old story.
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: I think it's with KG in uh Jaquem Noah where
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: Noah's like rookie season. He went up to KG and
- 1:57:41Speaker 4: was like you're my favorite player, no no and KG
- 1:57:44Speaker 4: was like f you Noah, Like get.
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: Out of here. That's how Paul is when he meets fans.
- 1:57:49Speaker 15: But I don't think Cam to be like that.
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: I would I'm trying to eat.
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: You should see me in the library circuit more than I.
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: It just reminds me of that commercial that cam Newton
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: was in and the little kid, you're my favorite player.
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: And then at the end, I'm just warming up my arm.
- 1:58:10Speaker 15: A cam that was like fight got into a fight
- 1:58:12Speaker 15: at his football camp with some kids.
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: No kids were being disrespectful, for.
- 1:58:16Speaker 15: Sure, this was not on cam, but the visual is hilarious.
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I was in that incident. He was being too
- 1:58:24Speaker 1: nice to those kids, you know. Yeah, but he's not
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: being nice to Drake Man. I don't understand it. And
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: Drake May's going to take it out. And next week
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: on Get on or Get up or Get Off, you're
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: gonna have to have a mia Koppa and a mina times.
