- 0:00Hello and welcome to another episode of the Christian.
- 0:03We podcast. Today's guest is a professional
- 0:05podcaster and YouTuber hailing all the way from Utah in the
- 0:09United States. His name is Landon vallejos.
- 0:13I am considered either either works that it, okay?
- 0:19Valley, a horse. So there's the Lejos or there's
- 0:24Vios there's a few different ways.
- 0:27How to use, you could how to use it when I'm at work.
- 0:31I say Vios because I hate professional.
- 0:33But when I'm just with casual and like vallejos, I don't know,
- 0:38depends on my mood. Yeah, I just I don't know.
- 0:41We were just saying off camera just then that there's like a
- 0:43lot of different names you go by and I just want to talk about
- 0:47this, you got this nickname Lundy knee linguine, which is.
- 0:52What's the deal with this name? What does this come from?
- 0:57This name came from my friend one day.
- 1:00He's like, yo, I got this nickname for you, and it's Lindy
- 1:03me linguine, and I'm like, that is gold.
- 1:06And I like this so much, I eventually I was like, okay,
- 1:08let's make a YouTube for it. Let's, let's put on my usernames
- 1:12on video games for it. And yeah.
- 1:16So that's all really was. My friend was just like, Nene
- 1:19Linguini. And I'm like, yes you are on
- 1:21something right there because one of the things that relate to
- 1:26that is you do a podcast called Linguini's do what he says about
- 1:32this show. What's the deal behind this
- 1:33podcast? So the deal behind this podcast
- 1:36thing we need to do and origin, dates are for the name.
- 1:39Landy me linguine, as you can kinda tell.
- 1:43When I started, there's different phases to the podcast.
- 1:45Right now. I'm in I'm in a phase with the
- 1:47right now, but at the beginning, when I started, it was as
- 1:52bottling up my emotions. So I'm like, hey let's see, this
- 1:56would be a good way for me to practice getting my fillings
- 1:59out. And it would, I mean, I listen
- 2:01to a bunch of podcasts at the time so it was just like, no two
- 2:04and two together started a podcast.
- 2:07And at first, it was just by myself.
- 2:09I didn't think I could get any guest on at the time and and
- 2:14yeah, so I usually would just talk about whatever.
- 2:17And it's also a big metaphor. So Linguini's.
- 2:19Do you know he can make bread pizza?
- 2:22What else can make it? Do a bunch of other stuff.
- 2:26Same thing with topics. I can really talk about anything
- 2:29so it's just a big mud it for just why I chose it and Yeah.
- 2:36So that's that's where the name kind of came from from there,
- 2:40though. One of my friends, I've actually
- 2:42never met him in real life online friends.
- 2:44He's like, yo, I want to be on the podcast and I'm like,
- 2:46alright let's do it. And from there, I that kind of
- 2:49built me up and I'm like, oh, I can get guests, not that hard,
- 2:51you just ask them. And that's when I started
- 2:55getting more guests on and all this fun stuff and soon I'll be
- 3:01reaching having 20 separate guests.
- 3:03So I've had multiple people and different times but 20 separate
- 3:08people is guess which will be a cool compliment.
- 3:13Anyway, so then the next phase of my podcast became a
- 3:16productivity podcast because I feel like I could talk about
- 3:18that for quite a long time. I do these 30-day challenges, it
- 3:23consists of just whatever. Sometimes like, I've done twice,
- 3:28I've done it where I put my computer screen and my phone
- 3:30screen in black and white very miserable to do but it was very
- 3:35interesting. Okay.
- 3:37Sorry we I was very interesting. I don't know not doing Again,
- 3:42now that I've done it twice, but basically a, for a month, I put
- 3:46those in black and white. I've done, social media detox,
- 3:50let's back up. What did you learn from doing?
- 3:51So, when you say black and white as in like a filter or something
- 3:56like what, what exactly are you talking about that?
- 3:59So each device is different right?
- 4:01But okay and windows, I forgot where it's in but there's a
- 4:04setting. You can make it makes everything
- 4:07in Black and White. So if you're watching a YouTube
- 4:10video or if you're editing a video, Wow.
- 4:13Okay. Yeah. and to be honest, it at
- 4:17the first when you first start doing it kind of increases your
- 4:20productivity, but by the end, You just get used to it.
- 4:24It's like a normal computer except it's just, you'd read it
- 4:28because it's so it's so stale. There's not nothing interesting
- 4:33about it. When I did finish the challenge,
- 4:36I learned how much I love the color blue just from.
- 4:39I don't know how to explain it but blue feels different after
- 4:41you have that black and white for that period of time.
- 4:45Okay, so that one I don't I don't know how much I actually
- 4:50learned. I learned that it doesn't make
- 4:51you more productive. Live with it.
- 4:57I don't know, it made me want to procrastinate using my device
- 4:59because the black and white was so I didn't enjoy it which made
- 5:03me not want to do the work, okay?
- 5:07So that was just kind of a trial experiment and it's it was just
- 5:13fun to do, you know? So you mentioned before that you
- 5:16doing these phases. So I guess now the podcast so it
- 5:19started with you kind of just talking about certain thoughts
- 5:22and feelings on your mind and stuff.
- 5:23So I suppose kind of like a almost like a Diary of sorts it
- 5:27away. And now you're moving through
- 5:29shifts of phases, which is pretty interesting.
- 5:32So is this like a a testing phase?
- 5:36Then you're trying to kind of test all aspects of your life
- 5:39and try to learn different things from those that kind of
- 5:43all, we're going for kind of the one thing.
- 5:49So, before I did this podcast, I let's see.
- 5:53I think it was a year before I did this podcast.
- 5:55I had a stop motion. Animation, which for those that,
- 5:57don't know. You take a picture, you move the
- 5:59subject to tiny bit. You take a picture, you put it
- 6:02all together and you have animation, you made Legos move.
- 6:06So I used to have sorry. This is this is one busy guy
- 6:12guys. Yeah.
- 6:14Webcam on my desktop. So I have to use my laptop and I
- 6:17don't use it as much, but I also lost my train of thought.
- 6:23No, so it's not a testing phase just cuz I'm sorry.
- 6:27So I had an animation channel, right?
- 6:29I got burnout I realized I didn't enjoy it as much as I
- 6:31used to and the when I officially said like I'm not
- 6:39doing this channel anymore I was like I don't want this to ever I
- 6:44don't want to ever create content again and have it become
- 6:46like a chore. It's one reason I won't go into
- 6:48the video industry as a profession is because I would
- 6:52get that. Eight of drought doing those
- 6:55type of things for clients and what killed your interest like
- 7:00well why did you suddenly know? Enjoy it.
- 7:03So I was doing these weekly animations, there about probably
- 7:0710 seconds long at the time. I mean, yeah, they were kind of
- 7:11a lot of work. They weren't they weren't that
- 7:13fulfilling since they're only 10 seconds is good for the
- 7:15algorithm because it was a consistent upload, but they
- 7:18weren't that good of uploads. Then after that me and my friend
- 7:22we are working. Project called battle for
- 7:24brickma, he did most of the script editing because that's
- 7:27not something I'm huge hugely fond of doing.
- 7:31I mean, it's a very important aspect, but I'm not.
- 7:33I'm like, you can do that part. I'll do the animating and
- 7:35editing either. I, we just ended up putting on
- 7:39too much work, and at first there is only just me and him is
- 7:42the voice actors. And we decided that hey, this is
- 7:46I will, I decided, he got his, he's a good voice actor.
- 7:49He's got that deep voice and He's a military, you know.
- 7:55So he has a great voice actor and I was like, hey, we need
- 7:59more variety. So I'm going to try and go get
- 8:01more voice actors and I did go and get a few more I redid my
- 8:06lines. Because at the time I was in, I
- 8:10don't know when I did the recording thing was 2018.
- 8:14My voice was higher pitched and it was kind of.
- 8:17Yeah. So I decided I'm like, okay,
- 8:21let's redo the voices and then we'll just work our way into it
- 8:27and I finished the prologue. So I was going to be a prologue
- 8:30plus six episodes and I finished the prologue and it was it
- 8:34turned out fantastic. I'm not going to lie.
- 8:35That's one of my most proud projects but I would go to
- 8:39school and I just On that and it just burnt me out and I lost the
- 8:42passion for it and animating. It just takes so much time.
- 8:47Do you you can't do an animation quick.
- 8:52You think you'll ever get into it in a different way in the
- 8:56future, you know, maybe it's just a mead particular, medium
- 8:59is not interesting to you anymore, but you might take
- 9:01your, I mean, you did mention before you're not interested in
- 9:04going to the video industry. But I mean, how many different
- 9:06styles have you tried? You know?
- 9:09Yeah, I know just blender that's something or because I after I
- 9:15burn out from the I actually did start trying more digital
- 9:18animation because I like being in an office setting Yeah.
- 9:22I mean this doesn't look like an office but it is in I like that
- 9:27space. I work in an office environment
- 9:30and I was like maybe that's what it is because I was doing to
- 9:33stop motions. I had to you know, my back would
- 9:37be hunched over and hmm. You know it's just kind of
- 9:40uncomfortable and I was like maybe that's what it is.
- 9:42It's just not in a comfortable aspect and at the time I had
- 9:44these, these tiny tables that my mom, she used to own a
- 9:48preschool. There were some old tables from
- 9:51there and Oh my gosh, they're horrible.
- 9:55And then there's set design. There was just so much that went
- 9:58into it. So yes, I can see myself in the
- 10:01future potentially doing it in the end just in another fashion.
- 10:07I guess. Because it's not like I still
- 10:10watch animations more than I do. Live action movies like just
- 10:14last night. I finished watching.
- 10:16What? If so that the last two episodes
- 10:21actually made We really like to show up until that point.
- 10:24I was like, I don't know. And then those last two episodes
- 10:28and like so this is pretty good. This is kind of crazy.
- 10:33It's interesting. All comes together, wasn't it?
- 10:35Yeah, I wasn't expecting that either like oh hey, but yeah so
- 10:41I really do appreciate animations and let's see.
- 10:43There's some of my favorites would include Wally into the
- 10:46spider-verse. Mmm.
- 10:48That one is tremendous or where I was.
- 10:52I've watched it so many times. What else?
- 10:56I don't know. I just watch a lot of animations
- 10:58because I have, I have that passion for it and I'm like, oh,
- 11:01this is a lot of work. I really don't think I'll be
- 11:07going into like animation as a career, but I do think I'll
- 11:11eventually force myself. I'll get bored.
- 11:14And I'll force myself to kind of learn more digital animation.
- 11:17And really, I think 3D rendering is where I set up roadblock cuz
- 11:24It's just once I learned the program, I'll get into it
- 11:28blender. You know, all these 3D things
- 11:31you can do and whatever it is but up until that point, I have
- 11:35to actually force myself to learn it and that's been hard to
- 11:38find the energy. Look at that moment.
- 11:40Like at the skin, th are totally different things.
- 11:44I just want to talk a little bit more about the podcast before we
- 11:46get onto your kind of career and stuff.
- 11:48What you're looking into doing so, What would you say?
- 11:51You've sort of learned for podcasting so far.
- 11:54I mean, how long have you been doing it now?
- 11:57So January 2020 to will be two years under two years, which is
- 12:02cool. So nice.
- 12:05Yeah, and I have learned honestly.
- 12:07I've learned a lot. It's hard to just pinpoint.
- 12:09Exactly. First of all, I learned that
- 12:13because I'm pretty young. I was in high school when I
- 12:15started it. And I was really insecure and I
- 12:19have a lot of confidence at that time.
- 12:22And once I got that first guest, I'm like, oh, I can do this
- 12:25people like, because I used to think, like, nobody cares for me
- 12:28and I'm almost those negative thoughts and just by having
- 12:33Gaston's, like, oh, people are really cool like that.
- 12:36Just having a discussion is a pretty cool thing.
- 12:39And yeah, so there's that and just it's kept me consistent
- 12:44with one thing because I do like to make videos.
- 12:47But sometimes I Like to do that now.
- 12:50So then I'd have months where I just didn't do anything and this
- 12:54would be the one thing I did because at first, it was just a
- 12:56once a month upload schedule. And yeah, the other things I've
- 13:03learned I should have. I don't know.
- 13:14I've just I've learned how to listen more, you know, because I
- 13:19used to be like, you know, and I was like, yeah.
- 13:21Like so what I always say I used to and I listen to someone I'd
- 13:25be like. Yeah.
- 13:26Yeah yeah you know I know what you mean when you scrutinize
- 13:32especially with low-cost and you'll see you have to sit and
- 13:35edit and go back through everything that you've done and
- 13:37then you just pick up on all these little things that you do
- 13:40in your like oh ah, oh ah I hate that.
- 13:43I can't be doing that anymore, you know?
- 13:45Yeah, it's so real. It's like oh my goodness and
- 13:49then you do it again and you're like yeah you're right that
- 13:53something there with all conversational aspect.
- 13:56Like I mean I didn't even notice this until probably 6 months in
- 13:59but it I think is so important to be a good listener as a
- 14:05podcaster for obvious reasons but like I can't count how many
- 14:09podcasters I've come across, especially ones that he shows
- 14:13I've been invited to appear on and It's like, they just like
- 14:19interrupt you. You know, like they don't know.
- 14:23I've I've asked you a question. I'm going to sit and listen and
- 14:26I'll only really interject if I want to ask you a follow-up or
- 14:28if maybe if I want to steer the conversation a different way.
- 14:32But still then I was I still want you to finish the point
- 14:34because a that's just polite. It's rude to interrupt and be I
- 14:39don't know, it kind of just shows like you're not
- 14:41interested, you know, engaged or whatever.
- 14:43And you know it's just sucks I think.
- 14:47And also I think I used to think a lot about what the podcast
- 14:52actually sounds like, when you're listening to it, you
- 14:55know, like what's what's the kind of the The flow of the
- 15:02podcast if you know what I mean. So it's, I don't know.
- 15:05Listening is so key in that and also just bring it back to the
- 15:09point, you know, in general conversation I can't have any
- 15:13because I don't I prefer to listen and not talk to be honest
- 15:17in every situation because you learn, you know, you just
- 15:21repeating information when you're talking.
- 15:24Yeah. And I don't especially like the
- 15:28sound of my own I suggest, you know, whatever but I don't know,
- 15:34I think it's with the podcast. You kind of really are forced to
- 15:40exercise both sides. And you get some guests that are
- 15:42more talkative and you just have to steal that and other times,
- 15:47you've got to be the source of the conversation and I don't
- 15:50know, it's very to I don't know about how you feel, but I get
- 15:52very like tired afterwards. If it's a particularly intense
- 15:56discussion, or if I've had to Think quite intensely.
- 16:01I mean I don't know every episode is different but like
- 16:04when I'm actually doing it, I'm thinking about several things at
- 16:06once and It's Tricky, it's not easy.
- 16:09It is I always appreciate it. When the podcaster that I'm
- 16:12guessing is one of those people that can just talk for just the
- 16:16whole episode. Essentially I'm like thank you
- 16:19and sometimes that you don't have to talk basically.
- 16:21Yeah. For some reason though it up.
- 16:29It's with the bad times. I've killed people because I do
- 16:33live streams as well away from this and he was surprised to
- 16:36learn that. I'm a quiet guy, real life and
- 16:38it's like, yeah, but you have to understand this is a message to
- 16:41everyone that doesn't understand this.
- 16:43The difference is you're talking to a camera or you're talking in
- 16:47medium such as this and it's there's like less pressure, you
- 16:52know, like will do this podcast for an hour, maybe two,
- 16:56whatever. And then there's no pressure to
- 16:59have to talk past that point, you know, whereas if you're in a
- 17:02room with someone, it's like this are is sitting on you and
- 17:07you just feel like I have to say something.
- 17:10But do I have to say something? Because we could be quiet, but
- 17:13then I don't know. Because I can kind of fill their
- 17:15mood sort of, but then, maybe I'm just overthinking and it's
- 17:18just AA, and that's what it's like to be another.
- 17:22Then you end up there, somehow the weather's in that silence.
- 17:25I mean, I get older, I think for me I've kind of I'm 18 10 years
- 17:33older than you and I can safely say that the major difference I
- 17:40think is that you do learn that. It's okay to be in a quiet
- 17:45situation. Like it's okay for that to be
- 17:48silenced at small talk is, it's the devil's work, but at the
- 17:52same time, you can't, you can't anticipate how other people are
- 17:55going to react. That's the thing, some people,
- 17:58particularly in the UK, I have to say it's a big thing here in
- 18:00the UK. People just can't be in the
- 18:05silence. I think something's wrong, like,
- 18:07I remember in my early 20s, I remember coming back from
- 18:12University, like maybe the beginning of the first year or
- 18:15second year Year. And I'd become a lot more quiet
- 18:20because I just began to change. I just, you know, not like I was
- 18:23excessively extrovert but I guess my parents were used to me
- 18:27being more extroverted outgoing. But as I've gotten older, I've
- 18:31just become because I'm like a flip-flop on the vert basically.
- 18:34Yeah. Since I got, I'm able to do the
- 18:36extrovert things, but I prefer to be introverted.
- 18:39And as I've gotten older, I think I've realized like yeah
- 18:42actually. conserve your energy, be quiet, save it for when it
- 18:47really matters and because that's the thing with
- 18:49conversations, I mean, Just because you talk doesn't mean
- 18:53that people are listening and the worst thing is, obviously
- 18:55when not someone's not listening, you know, especially
- 18:57when you're talking about, something you're passionate
- 18:59about, it's like AA dagger in the heart, but it's like, I
- 19:04don't know. In those small moments when I do
- 19:07open up, its going back to the story like with my parents.
- 19:11I just changed at that point. I just begun to just be quieter
- 19:14and, you know, eat in silence and they genuinely thought
- 19:17something was wrong with. Like, this is everything, okay?
- 19:20Like, what's the problem? Why don't you talk?
- 19:21Him. It's like because I don't need
- 19:24to. There's nothing to say I am
- 19:26eating my food. Let me eat my food in silence,
- 19:32please. Breakfast is the one Miller.
- 19:36I'm strictly please do not talk to me.
- 19:38Close quarters. This is.
- 19:39This is my silent Mill. Oh dude.
- 19:41Yeah no I mean come on it's like it's early fucking morning.
- 19:44Jeremy lost in. You want to see slight?
- 19:46Let me wake up first because ah ah and then we can talk At least
- 19:52let me have my coffee first before you start.
- 19:54Yeah. And it's not all when you get
- 19:58the intense questions just like so how is everything?
- 20:02How things work? And it's like, I'm gonna go
- 20:07blank. No, no, yeah, but that actually
- 20:14doesn't mind me of couple other things.
- 20:16I did learn that was how you phrase questions because you
- 20:21Don't say, did you do this or this?
- 20:23You say, hmm. Why did you do this?
- 20:27And why didn't you do that? It's you gotta phrase those
- 20:31questions. So they keep the person talking
- 20:34not just yes or no. And then I mean I learned a
- 20:37bunch of software made sound nicer by software.
- 20:43I just need my like I use an app called calendly which half the
- 20:47people don't like using it though.
- 20:48So that's hit or miss. And then let's the other one I
- 20:52started using a calendar because I need to be like, oh, not
- 20:55available at those times and Yeah, I don't know.
- 21:02It's just, I've just take everything at one step at a
- 21:06time, so it's I learned, you know, there's always something
- 21:10interesting about every person I talked to couldn't agree more.
- 21:13Yeah, old, do you think the willingness to speak is a big
- 21:17factor in that so why everyone doesn't necessarily have
- 21:20something to offer? I mean, I make his the thing I
- 21:24think with podcasting, if you're guesting on a show Or just
- 21:30getting involved in podcasting you need to enjoy conversation.
- 21:33I think it's true. Yeah, and I've had some a few
- 21:37instances where it's been like I asked questions and I get
- 21:41nothing and I'm like, what I do, it's the script, let's do
- 21:48something else, and it's like, if they don't want to be there,
- 21:50they don't want to be there. And it's like, all right.
- 21:53I just recently had one of those because I haven't most of the
- 21:57people, I've talked to their, they do.
- 21:59Most of Of the talking and sometimes I have to do a little
- 22:02bit more but like, nothing crazy but recently I just had this one
- 22:06guest and I don't know. When I listen to it back as like
- 22:10we're my reactions kind of weak or was like he said, just so
- 22:16basic that because it was one of my shortest episodes.
- 22:20I think we recorded for 45 minutes and I'm like, I don't
- 22:24know, I'll probably still release it just because I need
- 22:27to get it. I had the exact same.
- 22:30Thing happened to me recently. I'm not going to specify because
- 22:35I don't want to give it away anyone listening, you know what
- 22:40I will say, is exactly the same thing.
- 22:42I came off of it thinking. Should I publish this?
- 22:48I is there. Is this even worth listening to?
- 22:51And then I was like that, maybe I'm being harsh and then I
- 22:53listen back to it, and I did a few clips and I realized that
- 22:57the clips were the only part of it.
- 23:00That will worth listening to and then I wondered like, okay
- 23:03because my first thing is to go okay, what I'm I'm the host of
- 23:07this, I'm My Own this, so if it's bad I own that too, you
- 23:11know, I'm not gonna blow my guest for that.
- 23:14And I felt really bad and I reached out to my community and
- 23:17I said, yo, for the people that listen, I said, hey, what do you
- 23:19guys think? Do you think I did?
- 23:22I mess up was this terrible excetera and they literally all
- 23:26said no, it was your guest. They just didn't want to, you
- 23:32know, they just didn't seem engaged in the conversation.
- 23:34When I listen back another time I was like I heard it then, you
- 23:38know, and I kind of felt it when the podcast was happening.
- 23:40But I really noticed it when I went back and I was like yeah.
- 23:44Yeah and it just breaks my heart because it's like why would you
- 23:51go on a podcast if you don't want to be like, yeah I mean,
- 23:54right? And I remember getting halfway
- 23:56through, I'm thinking much about it just like in this now like I
- 24:01really had to think about whether or not I was going to
- 24:03publish that because I don't know like the way you got to
- 24:08look at Prague Gone Gone. Oh I cut you off.
- 24:10Oh yeah. It's and it's I mean if you're
- 24:13not gonna listen to Elf. It's like why would I publish
- 24:15it? And I never even looked at it
- 24:17from your point of view or it's like, it's not the guess that
- 24:19made about. It's me that I'm the host that
- 24:21it's my show. So I publish it.
- 24:23That's on me, which is an interesting take that.
- 24:26I never looked at it, is it because it's like, for me, Every
- 24:33guest to have on this show. I do interview them, you know, I
- 24:37got questions here. I do research on every guest and
- 24:39I interview them, but I don't really want to interview per se,
- 24:45I do, but I want the conversation to go that I want a
- 24:48discussion. I want to back and forth.
- 24:49I want tennis, that's what I want, but I don't care if it's
- 24:53like one-sided tennis. That's fine.
- 24:56As long as it's like, You know, they're leading sorry.
- 25:01Yeah, if it's just me going. Hey, so what about this?
- 25:04Uh okay, wow, we're done already.
- 25:08Are we okay? What about this?
- 25:11Nothing's over there? You giving me nothing, pal, the
- 25:15given me nothing. Complicated leaving me hanging,
- 25:18please. Come on, just give me something
- 25:20anything. Come on.
- 25:23Yeah, so if you haven't figured out which episode play is, yeah.
- 25:30I listen to two pretty solid episodes, the guy with the PHD
- 25:33and in the, I think she did cosplays.
- 25:38So is this mine? I was just you saying you listen
- 25:41to my podcast. Oh yeah, because yeah, I've
- 25:44listened to two of your episodes.
- 25:45Before I got on those like, got a, what was the other thing you
- 25:49got to know who you're talking to?
- 25:50You can't just a lot of people. Do, you know who you're talking
- 25:56to? I'm a big deal, pal.
- 26:08So chances are 90% of your viewers.
- 26:10I'm going to go check it out which I mean I'm fine with.
- 26:13I gotta tell ya, you never know you never know actually because
- 26:17I will say what about my community love you, guys.
- 26:20They do, they do guard their way and they do check out the people
- 26:22and stuff and this is one of the reasons why I do.
- 26:26I mean, I think from a soon as I began doing all this content
- 26:31stuff because I do content elsewhere, not just podcasting
- 26:34my realized, I didn't just want to do one thing, you know.
- 26:38One of the reasons why I interview all sorts of people
- 26:40from different backgrounds, it's because the conversation is
- 26:42different every time. So every time you come on,
- 26:44anyone comes on this show that's something different for my
- 26:47audience. And with my audience, you know,
- 26:49they have different interests themselves to some episodes.
- 26:51Maybe it's not for them other episodes.
- 26:53They love it and they go check out that person and I see things
- 26:56like, oh, they're following that person.
- 26:58Now, that's cool. Well, there are the chicken at
- 26:59their video. I did it.
- 27:00So it does it does it does work. And I think that For me, it's
- 27:07all about the show. It's all about putting on good
- 27:11content and that's the same when I go on other people shows like,
- 27:15yeah. Of course, you know, I'm there
- 27:18to promote myself, but I just don't believe that a good way of
- 27:21promoting yourself is to be like, hey, come check me out.
- 27:25Come do this. Do this thing.
- 27:27Subscribe to this. It's like no, Give Me A Reason.
- 27:29Show me why I should care. It's y sub for sub, which is one
- 27:33of my biggest pet peeves, or just, I think that's one of,
- 27:37that's just something I did it when I was younger, but now I'm
- 27:41like, that is such a stupid thing, there's no engagement.
- 27:43It's not, you didn't build that audience, you got each other's
- 27:48audiences. So, yeah, there's that.
- 27:51And I try to connect to people on LinkedIn after, like, I
- 27:54listen to some podcasts and I'll be like, like I connected with
- 27:57you on LinkedIn because, you know, okay, you know, these are
- 28:00connections that's the other thing you know five casting
- 28:03connections kind of there are different states countries but
- 28:08it's connections and yeah like you said with the If people are
- 28:14interested in they go check it out which I'm all for.
- 28:17Because like, that guy with the PHD, I really enjoyed his
- 28:20interview and I wouldn't actually weirdly enough.
- 28:24I went and found him on LinkedIn and he was actually hard to find
- 28:27just because I think there was another name someone with his.
- 28:31I don't know, he's kind of find, but I enjoy listening to him.
- 28:34He's really smart. The other thing I honestly find
- 28:38hard about podcasting is Because for you, it's like a different
- 28:42experience for every person you interview, which I really like
- 28:46right now, the issue with my podcast is, I don't know what to
- 28:50put in mishaan it as because I did productivity.
- 28:54And then, I recently switched to, because I was like, oh,
- 28:57there's literally no point of being productive, if you're not
- 28:59happy, so I love ya. So I brought it to.
- 29:06Okay, let's talk about people's struggles or whatever, they have
- 29:09to say what's happened to them. And that's been really
- 29:11interesting, but then I'm like, okay.
- 29:14Well, I also want to talk about people, starting up businesses,
- 29:17people in crypto and just all the stuff I'm interested in.
- 29:22Hmm. But then it's hard to get it.
- 29:26Some Market, I know you have like a tick tock and Instagram.
- 29:29Actually, I never checked her Instagram, but but see, dude, I
- 29:32went to check the, like, my podcast is something that I
- 29:39believe me. I do a lot more.
- 29:40Tim Ferry. Yeah, and it just it just
- 29:43doesn't work. Like I thought Clips were gonna
- 29:48be like, oh, this is it. What one?
- 29:50Click goes viral. I get loads of you and it's
- 29:52happened. I've had clips that have got
- 29:54like 80 thousand views or whatever like on Tick-Tock and
- 29:57then nothing didn't grow and get in any followers, you know, it's
- 30:01so hard to get people to care because that's one of the things
- 30:04you said in the beginning that I thought was very interesting is
- 30:07that you said ah what's the point of doing this, you know?
- 30:10No one cares. And here's the thing, I've got a
- 30:13solid audience that listens to this show now, small audience.
- 30:16But there's some people that care and that is so valuable.
- 30:19People, always talk about numbers, like I had a sponsor
- 30:21reach out to me that I do. I tell this story is this is
- 30:23funny, right? Real quick.
- 30:25So I had a sponsor reach out to me and they reached out to me by
- 30:30email and the like, hey Christian we saw your views on
- 30:33YouTube and you know, we would like to sponsor you, you know,
- 30:35this is this is a good opportunity, but my blood and
- 30:37I'm like great. And then I said, Well, this is
- 30:41what I'll offer. You can have placement in this
- 30:43episode but hablar they'll be audio version will be video
- 30:46version and here's my rate and they were like, okay, that's
- 30:50great. Yeah.
- 30:51So can you send us your stats for your podcast and I'm
- 30:54thinking So you've reached out to me and you've said that you
- 31:00want to sponsor me but now this is turned into me pitching to
- 31:03you, right? So I suspect painstakingly sent
- 31:07them screenshots because I mean the podcast is hosted on anchor,
- 31:11which means it gets spread everywhere.
- 31:13I got a couple portal, which shows you, you know, Spotify
- 31:16Apple podcast Google and it's pretty good.
- 31:18It's a good run down. You've got like your age
- 31:21demographics, gender demographics.
- 31:25Devices that people use, you know, it's good.
- 31:28It's a good little tool but it's split because obviously the
- 31:31YouTube stuff is completely different and Bubba blown, you
- 31:35know, I kind of I glanced at it every now and again because my
- 31:39audience stays the same at the moment.
- 31:40So until it gets big numbers and changes, it's not really worth
- 31:43looking at right now by sent all this stuff over.
- 31:47Radio silence, the girls. And then I was just like, why
- 31:53did you bothered like it kind of just pissed me off to be honest.
- 31:57It was just like, what is this? They said we started with the
- 32:02asking the stats get but even then.
- 32:05Okay. So don't forget they said, hey,
- 32:09You know, we want to, we want to do this.
- 32:12It's not like I reached out to that because this is why I don't
- 32:14pitch for sponsorships because I know that if I send them stats
- 32:17like, I did with this company, they're going to be like, oh
- 32:19that's nothing. My eyes only got like 10, 15
- 32:22people, who jump person, who cares about that.
- 32:24You know, that's probably their mindset probably, which I think
- 32:28is dumb because to be honest, you could easily have a thousand
- 32:32people watching your show every week and like, none of them care
- 32:36to check out the products. Has 10-15 committed people who,
- 32:41because don't forget, like, it's the same thing.
- 32:43It's like they trust in you. So, whatever you promote on that
- 32:49show. They'll probably go check that
- 32:51out. Or, you know, if for was saying
- 32:53before, you know, people coming on this show, they'll go check
- 32:55that person out. So there's like a sense of trust
- 32:58and loyalty from the listeners into me and that's what I would
- 33:02try and push if they gave me an opportunity but they didn't.
- 33:05And so bringing in fact exist in Whole conversation about
- 33:10marketing for podcast stuff. I mean I don't know, like I'm in
- 33:14a growing stage where I'm growing on these platforms, but
- 33:18it's back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth.
- 33:20Like I've been stuck, like under 800 followers on Instagram
- 33:23forever, I lose more followers than again Tick, Tock we got
- 33:27loads of views and follows but now it's stagnated and it's back
- 33:31to being dead and my focus is shifted.
- 33:35I've gone back and forth from like being miserable about it.
- 33:38It to not caring about it too. Kind of my point now which is
- 33:42I'm just trying to create the best stuff that I can create and
- 33:45find work and try to do this for a living one day, but I'm not
- 33:49really focused on the numbers anymore.
- 33:51Like, I glanced at them, but I think if you chase that too
- 33:55much, it just becomes a thing that defines you and then it
- 33:58affects the content. And as far as I'm concerned, the
- 34:02most important thing is, always the content, no matter how
- 34:04successful or unsuccessful you are.
- 34:06It all comes down to what you. You're putting out there?
- 34:09Yeah, it's a without good content.
- 34:12No One's Gonna. Like you can have all the
- 34:14viewers but if your content is not even good, they're not going
- 34:16to care to come back. So they might see a once and be
- 34:18like, oh yeah. Now that wasn't good.
- 34:21Move on. Or the engagement will just stay
- 34:23super low, which isn't fulfilling in my through me.
- 34:26That's just not fulfilling when it's like, nobody cares for me a
- 34:30lot. I know in person, I know a lot
- 34:32of people that know about my podcast, but they haven't
- 34:35listened to it, but I feel like I've done a good job at Making
- 34:38it noticed how I brand it and they kind of look like oh you
- 34:42run that podcast or whatever. That's also business cards.
- 34:47Wow. Is that what fair play fair
- 34:49play? He's got business and they
- 34:53they're honestly pretty nice. So, yeah, and what was the other
- 34:57thing that Oh Tick Tock. So one thing I've read about
- 35:04tick-tocks algorithm actually is when people like their new to it
- 35:08they'll laugh. Sometimes have a video that goes
- 35:10viral, met my brother a couple years back.
- 35:13We made it took talking about like three million views.
- 35:16I'm deleted his Tick-Tock account, but it got like 3
- 35:18million views and after that is used, never really quite reached
- 35:22the same unless he had a dead dog.
- 35:25Not real. But he wanted to go viral for a
- 35:30little bit and you know, sometimes he said his dog died
- 35:33and I was like, oh okay. But yeah, so yeah, I just agree.
- 35:40If you're if it's not, if you're not making good content, you're
- 35:42just looking at those analytics every day.
- 35:45You're just going to kill your why?
- 35:47You even started it. Hmm, though.
- 35:50I do know a lot of people that they start social media, just
- 35:52for the sake of, oh this'll be my full-time job.
- 35:55Like, I don't like to say it can't, there's a reason it's the
- 36:01top one percent in my eyes because it's you have to work
- 36:04hard for it. And yeah, that's the thing hard
- 36:07work. Doesn't necessarily mean
- 36:09anything. Those people that do this for
- 36:11years and years and years and years and just get nowhere.
- 36:13Yeah. Part of its luck to, I think a
- 36:16bigger percentage of his luck, I mean every single major
- 36:20successful person I've read about or heard about, especially
- 36:23with social media. Always says, oh, Oh well, it's
- 36:26the hard work. You just got to keep grinding
- 36:28putting in the hard work and it's that way I've been grinding
- 36:30for two years and I've barely got a lot of to show for it man.
- 36:34So, it's really not just about the grinding.
- 36:37It's about, did I mean it's about the the lock and who, you
- 36:41know, and opportunities and stuff like that.
- 36:45Yeah, shoutouts. I do not like them because I
- 36:49mean, if you get shout out, hey, you get a lot of followers, a
- 36:53lot of them aren't as engaged. I guess with podcasting, if they
- 36:57go out of your way to go, find your podcast.
- 36:58It'll be a good follower. But I know with YouTube, If you
- 37:01get a shout-out, it can actually kill your channel.
- 37:04Whatever. I, so, like I said on my old
- 37:08Channel, I got reached 356 subscribers on that.
- 37:12And I just want because I was really good at connecting with
- 37:15small creators and literally I would go on one person's Channel
- 37:19and I'd see that they mentioned this other Creator, I follow and
- 37:22vice versa. If it was, this is pretty cool
- 37:25in my opinion. But either way, I gotta shout
- 37:28outs every now. And then, and one time it was
- 37:29from this channel that had, I don't remember how many
- 37:32subscribers he had, but he was doing well, and I got quite a
- 37:34few subscribers. However, most of their
- 37:37engagement was just saying, oh, good video now.
- 37:40Yada, and then Then after a while, they just disappeared and
- 37:44it just hurt my views. It for my help, the ratio
- 37:47between subscribers and viewers. I'm not, I like I think a collab
- 37:55is the proper way to do a like a shout-out.
- 37:58I think just to rekt shoutouts, they don't feel like they're
- 38:02good for your overall health. Leave your channel because it
- 38:08just does it just it can kill engagement.
- 38:10It's the same thing. If I don't think going viral is
- 38:13good because you get viral for that.
- 38:14One thing, you either have to do that one thing for everyone or
- 38:19you have to mix it up and find some way to keep them engaged.
- 38:23And that's, that's hard. I had to single thing.
- 38:26I did a video, get 2.9 million views on ticked up, and it was a
- 38:32stitch, it's a silly little thing that I did, but the thing
- 38:37is, I do stuff like that all the time.
- 38:39My silly voices, silly reactions. sure, that it's a
- 38:42multi content thing and I just look at it as luck.
- 38:50I really do. I think you can never predict
- 38:53what's going to get loads of views.
- 38:55Sometimes, you think its timing, you know, like I did a little
- 38:59video the other day, you know, there's Salt Bay guy.
- 39:02The other guy that is that our cases is Chef in from turkey.
- 39:09And he got famous for basically sounds really dumb, but like, he
- 39:14would like cook steaks. Any he's process is pretty cool
- 39:20like the way he does it and everything is very, it takes a
- 39:22lot of care. He's like you know holding the
- 39:24meat, almost like cradling it. Do all this like interesting
- 39:27stuff with like Tom. Yes.
- 39:29And then at the end of the video he'd light sprinkle color that
- 39:33some salt like that and that's where that comes from such a big
- 39:37name anyway. Recently he set up a restaurant
- 39:40in London and he's charging extortion amounts of money.
- 39:46So like there's a YouTuber that kind of Opposed this where they
- 39:48made the same cooked and prepared the meals that he was
- 39:52charging. For like 65 pounds and he
- 39:59charges like 7 grand for the meal and the experience.
- 40:05Yeah, it's the at least putting the little gold, whatever.
- 40:08Ya know. He does.
- 40:09Not mean, I mean, these basically, these rich, these
- 40:11rich people come into this restaurant and they want to be
- 40:14like, dazzled and entertained, and, like, saw this video the
- 40:18other day where it's happening. And there's a guy sitting there,
- 40:22right? I hate to be, I hate to pick on
- 40:23this guy, but I I'm going to pick on this guy.
- 40:26So he's sitting there like this, looking really smug watching,
- 40:29Salt Bay, do his thing in front of him like this.
- 40:33He's wearing a fucking hat in a restaurant.
- 40:36Take your fucking hat off man. Don't wear a hat in a
- 40:40restaurant. You never seen The Sopranos come
- 40:41on. Don't just have some respect.
- 40:43I don't know who raised its guy but I just want to say that now
- 40:46just don't wear a hat and dig it up.
- 40:48Yeah, take that half, show some respect.
- 40:51Anyway, I just wanted to run the butter Either, but he's sitting
- 40:55there and he's watching the guy salt way do his thing.
- 41:00And I'm just, you know, everyone's kind of laughing
- 41:02about and saying like oh so Bayes charging too much money.
- 41:05This is extortion and it's like look those people are paying for
- 41:08it, you know, they've chosen that they don't have to pay that
- 41:11they don't have to go there, but I think it says a lot about.
- 41:15I don't think somebody's doing anything wrong.
- 41:17Look, he's got a really expensive restaurant in London
- 41:20is expensive to have a restaurant there.
- 41:22Just like it would be in like, New York in the It states, you
- 41:25know, you have a place there it's going to cost a lot to be
- 41:29there, so you're probably going to Eva have to do lots of deals
- 41:35and just hope you get a lot of volume or you have to charge a
- 41:38lot of money and make it a specialist Place.
- 41:40Those are your two options in a place like that.
- 41:43And so he's charging he's charging based on experience.
- 41:46Everyone knows you can do this stuff for cheaper but it's the
- 41:49experience. It's the hottest music.
- 41:54Yeah, the Show me all this. We also there's a bit, it's
- 41:57literally him doing his thing. That's what people are paying
- 42:00for and I do understand where people are coming from all, it's
- 42:04extortion, blah, blah. But look, you know, those rich
- 42:07people are paying for it, they choose to pay for it.
- 42:09They're happy with it. That's what it is.
- 42:11It's just a fad and they'll be another thing.
- 42:13You know, we'll come along and it's just what happens, you
- 42:16know. It's just the way it is.
- 42:20There's rich people are definitely not complaining.
- 42:22So if you're the guy with the hat, Completely forgot why I
- 42:26raised observes that engaged in a conversation.
- 42:28I'm the reason I raise that is that I, he was trending on
- 42:33Twitter. Oh yeah.
- 42:36So I posted a video that I'd already posted on Instagram with
- 42:40a filter and it's just a silly video.
- 42:43It's just like salt Bay, laughing, as he's taking your
- 42:47money. Ha ha ha, you know, and I put
- 42:49Maya posted it on Twitter because I saw that some papers
- 42:51trending and boom, it got like Like 14 15 K, and it got some
- 42:56retweets and stuff like that. So that was an example of
- 42:59perfect timing. When you see something trending,
- 43:03you hop on the trend but it doesn't, it doesn't always work
- 43:06that way either, you know. Yeah.
- 43:10Another good example, I've never done this but I think I have
- 43:15this phone. You know.
- 43:15Chemicals like that. Yeah.
- 43:19That sounds some subset. Yeah, it sounds like this.
- 43:22That's the new one, isn't it? Yeah.
- 43:24The adverse, okay, study the here, feeling like the man do I
- 43:33because I don't know, I pre-ordered a version that took
- 43:36an extra month's session. If I would have made like an
- 43:39Impressions video. When this first released though,
- 43:42I could have probably got something with a decent amount
- 43:44of views. So like you said, the a little
- 43:46bit of timing plus luck, it can get your Tweet with 15K likes.
- 43:52Yeah, I think I think He's unpredictable that the my point
- 43:56is with this is that there are other factors but mostly its
- 43:59unpredictability, for example, that video that I got, that went
- 44:03viral, it went viral in the Middle East.
- 44:08Yeah, like in Saudi Arabia, UAE Algeria countries like that.
- 44:15And I don't know how I think it just kind of maybe someone
- 44:19thought it was funny. They shared it and then it you
- 44:21know file you know, virality is it?
- 44:24Based on that isn't it's just sharing on showing up on sharing
- 44:26and sharing it in a quick kind of fashion.
- 44:30But my point is that I don't think you can always really
- 44:33predict or tap into what people are going to relate to or find
- 44:36funny or whatever. I think sometimes it just hits
- 44:41strikes. A nerve with people, you know, I
- 44:44was watching something the other day where they were talking
- 44:46about. How sometimes music when it
- 44:52becomes big? it becomes big because it kind
- 44:56of Hits at a time that connects with everything else at that
- 45:02particular time and the reason it's big is because it's big at
- 45:06that moment if that makes sense. So it's like I think about you
- 45:09like a particular record when it gets released in it or it
- 45:12becomes even genre-defining or moment defining.
- 45:16Like I think I like the 90s with with albums, like that
- 45:21Nirvana's, nevermind or maybe some of the stuff.
- 45:27By The Verve in the UK. Like it was released at that
- 45:30time and I think that it just struck a chord with people
- 45:36because of life back then and The Vibes and everything it just
- 45:43it just hit at the right time when it was supposed to because
- 45:46people forget, like techno Varner as an example, there were
- 45:48loads of grunge bands, they've been loads of grunge bands in
- 45:51the 80s, but for whatever reason grunge became really popular and
- 45:56I suppose In stream in the 90s, there were plenty of other bands
- 46:00that did it, you know, Allison change.
- 46:01Don't Temple Pilots Etc. But Nirvana I think somehow
- 46:06tapped into like the public Consciousness at that time and
- 46:09they they just you know say same with the Beatles did it the same
- 46:13way countless other artists have done it where they kind of
- 46:17almost defined a generation and a moment in time and enamine
- 46:23even with them it past you know, they had their moment, I think
- 46:26we'll never mind, they had their moment.
- 46:27Couple of years, top of the world and then when by the time
- 46:29they released their follow-up in, you know, Terror some of
- 46:35that kind of any better. Some some of that success began
- 46:45to wane but not but not like in a massive way that they didn't
- 46:48stop being successful or something.
- 46:50But like it wasn't as, as big as when Navarre nevermind came out
- 46:54and it was also by Design. They wanted to make a record
- 46:57that kind of would kill off some of that and kind of bring them
- 47:01back to basics. And yeah, that's why, you know,
- 47:03Terror such an experimental kind of album that almost sounds more
- 47:09like their earlier work. But yeah, I don't know.
- 47:13I just went on a rabbit hole there the no.
- 47:15Yeah, but I think you're completely right.
- 47:17Because something the time literally like the world was
- 47:21like, oh we need I don't know those songs like I know the
- 47:25Beatles but I don't listen to a lot of music.
- 47:28So David, I understand what you're saying.
- 47:30But yeah, it's that timing, it's the world's like this is what we
- 47:35needed to hear at the moment and they started sharing it and Soon
- 47:39enough. It's viral for a little bit and
- 47:41then slowly, It Was Nirvana. Yeah, slowly they have to switch
- 47:47there. With our song to find something
- 47:50else that fits and sometimes that works.
- 47:52Sometimes, it doesn't it's like certain bands of seen over the
- 47:55years that like, like, green day is a really good example and
- 47:59we've shown Green Day Before on this podcast.
- 48:02I actually I actually like but I think that they passed a certain
- 48:06point, they stopped being what they were and that's not its
- 48:11natural. All bands.
- 48:12Cannot continue to be at the very top, you know what I mean?
- 48:17It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how.
- 48:19It's marketing is out there how much, how much efforts are put
- 48:22into keeping them at the top it at the end of the day, it's the
- 48:27will of the people that make or break you, you know what I mean?
- 48:31Like, if you take something like Joe Rogan's podcast is a good
- 48:35example. I use this often as an example,
- 48:38his podcast is not like continually always at the top in
- 48:42the news. I mean you know, me and like
- 48:44he'll have certain guests that will bring it back into
- 48:47Consciousness or he'll say Nothing particularly
- 48:49controversial, but his moment of like, you know, being the most
- 48:53talked-about thing-- at least in the podcasting world has kind of
- 48:57been and gone, but he still don't give me your keys didn't
- 48:59very top but it's just like there was that moment?
- 49:03And then it passed and you move on and you keep going.
- 49:06And and that's the thing. Like you musicians never stopped
- 49:08releasing records, you know, like I think about a band like
- 49:12Franz Ferdinand here in the UK, they released their record, the
- 49:16song, Take me out and they kept releasing music.
- 49:19After that and I think they even still do but they just had that
- 49:22moment. And that was the moment and then
- 49:26you move on and they now have that build it up.
- 49:29They've built up some audience that they get a key from that.
- 49:32But yeah, they're not going to be nearly as viral.
- 49:36Yeah. And I bet it, but I think this
- 49:38is a very important Point as well.
- 49:39Like, people have to stop, doesn't matter what field you're
- 49:43in either. I think you have to stop being
- 49:44obsessed with this idea of being like, I hear, I hear this term,
- 49:50a lot on YouTube by relevancy or they're not relevant anymore,
- 49:53but not relevant. It and it's like, if that's your
- 49:56goal, is to stay relevant constantly.
- 49:58I mean, that's that's a bad thing.
- 50:01That's, that's sick. That's, that's not a good thing
- 50:04the extrange. Yeah.
- 50:05Like it's okay to not be the public center of attention 24/7,
- 50:10you know. And it's like I never used to
- 50:12really properly until grasp the under the idea of 15 seconds of
- 50:17fame or 15 minutes of fame but now I totally get it.
- 50:20It's like okay this is a moment, enjoy it.
- 50:23It won't last. People move on because it's
- 50:26amazing when you when you think about just think about this,
- 50:28think about the stuff that you were into like last year,
- 50:31although stuff that was in the news last year when you think
- 50:34back now you're not. Wow, that seems like an age ago
- 50:38like that's no one eat. No one even talks about it.
- 50:40No one even remembers that. And it's like kids because
- 50:44that's all key people care about is, what's going on right in
- 50:46this second. That's why it for instance, I
- 50:49never sit on things that I've done.
- 50:51Like, yeah, I had that video that went viral.
- 50:54Viral a while back. But that was then that's what
- 50:57I'm talking about. Now, the present.
- 50:59Yeah. Like, it's like actually become
- 51:00the past. Exactly.
- 51:02You know, it's like I remember one time I was playing a pool
- 51:04game and I won six games, but I lost the seventh and there's a
- 51:12guy giggling who's not playing and I'm not what.
- 51:14I still beat the guy six times and he's like, yeah, but you
- 51:17lost the last game and I was like, what?
- 51:19And then? He cheekily says, you're only as
- 51:22good as your last game. Wow.
- 51:24Wow. And that's the thing.
- 51:26Like obviously it was banter and it was mucking around but he was
- 51:29right that advice, it's stuck with me and I think he only said
- 51:35that as like a way of just kind of like trying to get to me and
- 51:38take the piss out of me, but it was it was wise advice, that
- 51:41price to everything. People only a care about the
- 51:44latest thing. You've done, doesn't matter that
- 51:46you did this thing three years ago that you're proud of great.
- 51:48But that was then, this is now gotta live in the moment.
- 51:55I was, I going to say, I forgot I lost my train of thought, but
- 52:02Oh yeah. So yeah, just go on, just
- 52:04piggybacking off focusing on what you do now versus what you
- 52:08did in the past like I used to make animations.
- 52:10I'm not nearly as good as that. Now, for my whole podcast, the
- 52:14whole thing I did was like, I'll focus on one thing at a time,
- 52:18like I'll have long-term goals, but I won't.
- 52:20Look at those very often, I'll look at what I one thing at a
- 52:24time. I'll see some episodes did
- 52:25better in the past. I'll focus on the next episode
- 52:28that I find interesting to make I'll just keep this cycle so
- 52:32that it's not exhausting. But I am improving and it's a
- 52:36good balance that's really cool. That that guy just something so
- 52:40simple from cool ended up being so revolutionary.
- 52:45It's funny how certain things that people say to you in life
- 52:48can stick with you. I think when your ears are open,
- 52:52you really listening to people and something that you need to,
- 52:55here comes into your life at the time, you need to hear and it
- 52:59just, yeah, just makes them And then you I guess and they'll
- 53:04have no idea sometimes most times probably actually, let's
- 53:10let's move it forward. I want to talk a little bit
- 53:13about your want to talk about your career aspirations.
- 53:18Tell me, tell me, tell me, what do you want to do with your
- 53:21life? Never retire but no, B.
- 53:27Yeah, I mean, you've got this podcast.
- 53:29You said that you've you've doubled with with animations and
- 53:32you go back and forth and it, but what do you really want to
- 53:34do? Like, what's, what's the
- 53:36ambition was to drive? What's pushing you, or where do
- 53:38you want to go? So for a career, this is, this
- 53:41has been one of the things that's been most difficult in my
- 53:44life. Not not too much.
- 53:46What kind of just at times just start?
- 53:50Let's just start. So I got my first job just last
- 53:53year, January of 2020, I was working at McDonald's and I work
- 53:58there till April of this. Here, I last two months there, I
- 54:02became a manager and hated it so I quit.
- 54:06And I was like, I'm going to quit, not work for two months
- 54:11and then on my second to last day, I got offered a job from a
- 54:16customer at an insurance brokerage.
- 54:19And so I still work there right now.
- 54:21He's a really good guy, I do wish the pay was a little bit
- 54:24better but it'll suffice but in high school I honestly had no
- 54:29idea what I was going to do for my future.
- 54:30Teacher. So, I just avoided thinking
- 54:32about it, avoided anything, like, like I told you earlier,
- 54:35in this episode, I'm like, hey, I'm not doing video as my video,
- 54:41or what's the other thing I guess audio?
- 54:44Because I've considered, like, before I started podcasting, I
- 54:47was editing. That's just shortening a
- 54:51podcast. One of my friends for like 20
- 54:53bucks a week. And he was working for someone.
- 54:56He just needed you just didn't like that part.
- 54:58So we paid me which is nice. But that's besides the point, I
- 55:03just feel like those creative ones.
- 55:05Having those as a full-time job, I must therefore projects you
- 55:08got to work on yourself. That it would be exhausting,
- 55:11like, you'll get very good. Like I have a friend.
- 55:13He, he does skateboarding. He does these edits you take
- 55:15these photos. They're amazing, but I feel like
- 55:19if I was doing it for clients, I would get exhausted so quick and
- 55:23I've done a few gigs here and there.
- 55:24Like I helped them a wedding for my brother-in-law.
- 55:27I've helped. I've done a couple photo shoots
- 55:30for graduation and Church events just stuff like that and I mean
- 55:34I didn't despise it. No.
- 55:36But I could I'm not on like oh this was my favorite thing I've
- 55:39ever filmed. The money was nice and I was
- 55:42like yeah I have a skill in this.
- 55:43I'll do it. But so I do like messing around
- 55:47with computers right beside me. I have my computer I bill.
- 55:51Oh recent yeah. Damn.
- 55:59Very worth it but that's besides the point.
- 56:01So I'm like, I like computers. It's not something, I'd read,
- 56:05not something that's so amazing. I'd get burnout at it for going
- 56:09to our video. So recently, I've been looking
- 56:13I'm like, okay so I need to make more than thirty thousand
- 56:15dollars a year round but I currently make and what would be
- 56:19the best way to go about this? So I looked at the different
- 56:22careers and like, well, I could become licensed Insurance sell
- 56:27insurance if I got enough clients.
- 56:31Some of my co-workers they make good money doing it but I'm like
- 56:34for that be so fulfilling I want to do it would because I mean
- 56:39I'm going to CSR take the calls and you know it's it's tolerable
- 56:45it's all right I don't think I'd want to do that for the rest of
- 56:48my life. I mean obviously you can change
- 56:50your career at any moment but I don't think I'd want to really
- 56:55Do that for the rest for a good portion of my life.
- 56:58So I'm like, well, I might get licensed try, getting a few
- 57:02clients to help save up some money but that's out of the
- 57:06picture. So the other careers I was
- 57:08looking at was there's it over the other ones, most of the time
- 57:15I just kind of gave up every career.
- 57:16I saw him like oh I don't like that idea so I don't remember
- 57:20the exact ones I looked at but so recently I was like, okay.
- 57:25To try 80 and with it. A lot of the times that you can
- 57:28do is you can get a certificate. So if you certificates, you can
- 57:31start in a help desk job and work your way up, however,
- 57:36there's some limits with that would pay and I don't know
- 57:39exactly. I'm not in it and then the other
- 57:42option is go to college and I'm in the u.s.
- 57:44So our college is expensive and high school.
- 57:48Me did not have the brain power to be like, oh let's actually
- 57:51prepare for college. I did graduate high school
- 57:54January. This year.
- 57:55So, it semester early and However, I'd never applied for
- 58:00scholarships. I never took my took one
- 58:02concurrent enrollment class which is basically college
- 58:05credit. And, and then the test, there's
- 58:09I think it's called an SAT. I don't remember, I didn't study
- 58:13for that. I didn't care for it and I got a
- 58:1515 on it. So, on some ends, I will have to
- 58:18figure out. I have to figure out how
- 58:20basically any sort of. Whoa, I'm going to save up for
- 58:24Community College, for the first two years that I should be able
- 58:28to afford. It's not too bad.
- 58:30It's the university, the last two years to get the Bachelors
- 58:33that's going to be kind of I'll probably have to take out loans
- 58:36which I hate but it will be worth it to be making more than
- 58:4030,000 a year. So yeah, I'm going to probably
- 58:44save up for those two years of Community College and then those
- 58:47last two years I'll probably have to take out a loan or two
- 58:51Problem on that. But I'm looking at possibly,
- 58:58I'll probably get a sir, it's called the A+ certification
- 59:01certificate I'll probably get that. before I start college,
- 59:06and I don't know, I'll just have to see.
- 59:09I have to learn how heavy loans grants, whatever that stuff is,
- 59:13I never learned about it in high school because I'm like, oh, I
- 59:15don't have a future. And now I'm like, oh crap, I
- 59:19want a future, and I want a career that I want a career and
- 59:24it if you get up there, it pays very well.
- 59:26So, that's one other nice thing. So yeah, look my rambling on
- 59:32here now. Oh no, it's so slow rambling.
- 59:35It's refreshing. I think.
- 59:37Or. You're kind of open to lots of
- 59:39different options and you've got a clear understanding of.
- 59:44Okay, this is my goal. At least initially.
- 59:46This is what I need to do. And you know, I just need to get
- 59:50okay. If it's a to be I got figure out
- 59:53how to get to be and there's different ways I can do that.
- 59:56And, you know, I don't know, it's refreshing.
- 59:58I mean, I don't know you sound much more clued up than, than,
- 1:00:02than I was when I was 18. I don't know what the fuck I was
- 1:00:05doing. So yeah, intelligent young man.
- 1:00:08It's good. Good.
- 1:00:11It's got a fake, it, you know, it's good.
- 1:00:14The other thing is now I do want to try actually retiring early.
- 1:00:18That's one of my goals and I consider myself a fairly Frugal
- 1:00:22person I do. Make a few kind of expensive
- 1:00:25impulse purchases here and there, but I'm better at it than
- 1:00:29I used to like in high school and like, you know, I'm in high
- 1:00:31school. I won't have this opportunity
- 1:00:33where I don't have this many bills and I like, you know, most
- 1:00:39people recognize this Mike, it's expensive.
- 1:00:43Not it depends on your voice, I'll be honest here.
- 1:00:46Like I kind of have a higher voice like kind of neat kind of
- 1:00:49high. So it's not perfect.
- 1:00:51Okay, so that's besides the point in high school.
- 1:00:53I was a very impulsive purchaser.
- 1:00:55Then I moved onto After High School and, you know, it was
- 1:01:04kind of like that and then now I'm pretty good about it.
- 1:01:10Every now and then like this phone, I dropped it.
- 1:01:14This phone is that phone wasn't the smartest decision and you
- 1:01:20know, but I'm getting better at it.
- 1:01:22Like I use an app called you NAB.
- 1:01:24It's pretty fantastic stands for you.
- 1:01:27Need a budget. So cool.
- 1:01:30Yeah, may have. So just probably going into it
- 1:01:35and hopefully retiring early will see.
- 1:01:38Hopefully, I'm going to Do what I can do to get towards that
- 1:01:44other than that, that's, that's as far as I've thought of, for
- 1:01:46my career, at the moment. Best of luck man.
- 1:01:50I'm sure you'll smash it's a good sign that you got to.
- 1:01:52Like I said, be clued up at this point.
- 1:01:54I think that could only mean a good thing long-term now.
- 1:01:57I've got a I've got to ask. Yeah, you worked, you work in
- 1:02:02insurance and you worked in McDonald's.
- 1:02:04Joanie crazy stories Casillas, our customer service
- 1:02:08representative, right? Yes, right.
- 1:02:11So let's let's focus on insurance firstly.
- 1:02:15Yeah, well, it's a bit of crazy stories or things that stick out
- 1:02:18in your memory from your time working the.
- 1:02:21So I'm thinking won't listen to this.
- 1:02:23She doesn't actually, I don't know if she did speaks English,
- 1:02:26so I don't know, Spanish. I only know English.
- 1:02:28Unfortunately, no name is one customer names.
- 1:02:31Keep that, no names. Yeah, i-i'm not about that.
- 1:02:35This is one customer I think she has.
- 1:02:39This is kind of deep, I think she has bipolar or some sort of
- 1:02:42okay? Something of this sort.
- 1:02:44She comes in, she needs to make a payment for example, and she
- 1:02:49could be there, sometimes she'll be there for like, what, 10, 20
- 1:02:52minutes other time she'll be there for a couple hours.
- 1:02:54Oh wow. And yeah, she'll just talk from
- 1:02:56one thing to the next and just recently as in my boss's office
- 1:03:00and he was actually giving me a raise, which was pretty nice but
- 1:03:04the door was shut. So then I come out and then
- 1:03:07she's like, oh, that's the office, security security lady.
- 1:03:12Like what I can't see. Spanish side.
- 1:03:15I'm just walk out and she's all looking at me laughing, at the
- 1:03:18Lego. Some other things that happen.
- 1:03:22Oh, just side note. If you guys don't have state
- 1:03:25minimum coverage has on your insurance policy that's just
- 1:03:28blatantly stupid. If you hit a Tesla, you're
- 1:03:30screwed, don't do it. I always recommend one hundred,
- 1:03:33three hundred or above. It's usually not that much more
- 1:03:37either. Sorry.
- 1:03:38That was kind of like a cell, seeing some other things that
- 1:03:41have happened cells, people give us donuts and Absolutely love
- 1:03:45it. And I think as most of it's over
- 1:03:50the phone and it's not too crazy.
- 1:03:53A lot of, I mean, a lot of people are just kind of like
- 1:03:56they kind of just angry and it's not that funny, the same thing
- 1:03:59with McDonald's like the craziest thing that happened,
- 1:04:03there was someone there order with the sandwiches messed up.
- 1:04:08So we go and remake it, and then she comes back and she's like,
- 1:04:11you did not remake this. This is the same standard, you
- 1:04:13just made it. Correctly.
- 1:04:15And if she like threw it on the ground, she's crazy or like what
- 1:04:22I don't know, to be honest. I Forget a lot of the crazy
- 1:04:26stories that happened to me. I will always remember her
- 1:04:29because she'll she'll call or text line which can't takes
- 1:04:32phones and we'll see. You notification will go.
- 1:04:34I go and we know who to give it to since she's a client for a
- 1:04:38specific insurance agent and then she'll call the office.
- 1:04:44And sometimes again that will last a while or that will last
- 1:04:46really quick. And should I go tomorrow?
- 1:04:48I'm coming in and this doesn't come in tomorrow.
- 1:04:51So yeah, it's geez. We all Her.
- 1:04:56That's good. I mean, at least she sounds
- 1:04:58decent, you know, I mean, yeah, she's not a bad person.
- 1:05:01She she doesn't like one of the, what's funny.
- 1:05:05One moment she likes this person, one of the people, she
- 1:05:08were my coworker, the one that works with her.
- 1:05:12Some moment she likes her some woman, she doesn't.
- 1:05:14And then You know this is gonna sound really weird don't ever do
- 1:05:19this with a client but we found her Facebook and we're gone to
- 1:05:25that she's like a nice lady. She's and she dresses like what
- 1:05:28the young person, you know? She's, he's old, she, she does
- 1:05:32not just like an old person. So she looks that's weird for me
- 1:05:35to say, but she looks fine for someone.
- 1:05:38I think she's 70s, okay? It's just you say, yeah,
- 1:05:42together gonna Throw any other. That's the one I find most
- 1:05:47memorable is her, that's good. Now, that's cool.
- 1:05:50I mean, I was expecting like, manner of terrible stories, like
- 1:05:54all this hell and this, how? But it sounds to me, like, for
- 1:05:57the most part. Well, one or two things, either
- 1:06:00one or maybe it's both, you know, you haven't really had
- 1:06:04that many bad experiences. And when you have had them,
- 1:06:07you've just dealt with them in a good way.
- 1:06:09I suppose. It's probably the best.
- 1:06:10Yeah, put it. Yeah, generally a good attitude
- 1:06:13towards List of yeah, unfortunately, I have to be
- 1:06:18like, oh, you're annoying but hey, hey buddy, we're going to
- 1:06:22be friends for a moment. A lot of the times I do give it
- 1:06:25to my boss because, again, I'm only six months into six or
- 1:06:30seven months into insurance. So I'm still pretty new to it.
- 1:06:33Okay. So there's still time.
- 1:06:36Yeah. Are you cold calling people on a
- 1:06:41know? So my boss, he we get so many
- 1:06:44mouth-to-mouth references and then just based off how many
- 1:06:47clients he has. He has a lot of clients.
- 1:06:51It's most of the time we don't need to and a lot of people like
- 1:06:55Progressive they'll send people to our agency and will get
- 1:06:59quotes like that. So I have not seen my boss, do
- 1:07:04it or me. Personally, I don't want to my
- 1:07:07co-workers. He does.
- 1:07:07Real estate and insurance and he kind of uses Insurance to
- 1:07:13promote his real estate. And The Estates burnout is
- 1:07:15Insurance. He's a really smart guy in that
- 1:07:17aspect and you know it's yeah I don't have to do any cold
- 1:07:22calling though so that's nice. It's good, it's good.
- 1:07:28What's the biggest life lesson that you've learned so far as
- 1:07:31thinking about this, right? Because you've asked other
- 1:07:34people and I asked everyone, so initially, I was going to say,
- 1:07:39hey just take everything one step at a time because otherwise
- 1:07:43you're gonna be like, Oh, I'm going to become big YouTuber and
- 1:07:46then you're not going to take the little steps that actually
- 1:07:48get you. Hopefully, they're so, I would
- 1:07:52say that then the other day, I was just thinking of something
- 1:07:55else, I completely forgot. At it now, which makes me kind
- 1:07:57of upset because you know, you're going to see other people
- 1:08:00suggest hey just take things one thing at a time.
- 1:08:03But I was kind of looking at something else in a like that
- 1:08:06would be interesting and I forgot it, I'm sad.
- 1:08:09But yeah, I would say just take everything one step at a time.
- 1:08:12It's so, it's just simple. It keeps goals in proportion and
- 1:08:18you don't beat yourself up over. Something's bad.
- 1:08:21You just go. Oh, I worked on this.
- 1:08:23Once that's done, I should be good to move on to this.
- 1:08:27And from there I just eventually builds up until it's something
- 1:08:30you like or you end up in a career you like or I don't know,
- 1:08:34it just it overall makes good sequence in my opinion of how
- 1:08:39things work and it keeps you going at it and that's the
- 1:08:44lesson specific to you to your life to my life.
- 1:08:48Yes, that's, that's how I, that's the only reason I was
- 1:08:52like I said, I went by this, like, I have this channel art,
- 1:08:55it's called, don't let art become a chore. or, and Very
- 1:08:59much I just go help. I will work on this for this
- 1:09:02amount of time or like I play rocket league and in order to
- 1:09:07get ranked you have to do 10 matches of unranked play.
- 1:09:10And I go, let's just do one match at a time.
- 1:09:13Eventually you hit 10 and you're like wow great.
- 1:09:16And it's I think it's something that is pretty important.
- 1:09:22For people like me who have a hard time seeing long-term
- 1:09:24goals. Hmm.
- 1:09:26Like I don't know. Like I'm like I'm Never like oh
- 1:09:29my podcast is going to blow up if it does I'm like awesome but
- 1:09:33I never see it. So instead I go I'll focus on
- 1:09:35one thing at a time making the podcast better or I'll Focus one
- 1:09:39thing in my career at a time I will I'll learn Linux and then I
- 1:09:44will, I don't know. I'm not, I haven't, I need to
- 1:09:48learn more into it but just those little steps to kind of
- 1:09:51make something big, an artist, they go one line at a time, kind
- 1:09:56of, they kind of go like, I don't know.
- 1:09:58I don't draw. No, dude, I think you're onto
- 1:10:02something here, like I obviously, yes, it's something.
- 1:10:05We've heard a million times but I think it's very easy to lose
- 1:10:08sight of that. You know, I know I do often, you
- 1:10:11know, I've spoken about how I try and focus on making the
- 1:10:14content below. Let's be real.
- 1:10:16This is a numbers game. Everything you do online.
- 1:10:20It's a numbers game. It's impossible to not care
- 1:10:23about it on some level because it's the I said this in the live
- 1:10:27stream, once that's it is. It's the Kind of the thing that
- 1:10:30we use to measure where we're going, you know, like you said
- 1:10:34you're coming up to a two year anniversary so naturally you're
- 1:10:37kind of going to look like War. How where have I gone in these
- 1:10:40two years? Like what's what's the
- 1:10:41trajectory? Is it upwards is its fat lining?
- 1:10:44Is it going down? What's the pattern?
- 1:10:46Because patterns, suggest things as well as suggests, maybe I
- 1:10:49should do more of this. Maybe I should do less of this.
- 1:10:52Like for example, here's a really good thing to illustrate
- 1:10:55my point. I've done episodes of my podcast
- 1:10:59where it's just me. Talking I prefer Having guests
- 1:11:06on, I think it makes for a much better entertaining podcast.
- 1:11:10Don't get me wrong, I think there's plenty of people out
- 1:11:12there that can make good podcast with just them being on it.
- 1:11:16I've heard it, you know, being executed, I just think generally
- 1:11:21it's more interesting to listen to two people talking, in my
- 1:11:25opinion and I'm thinking, yeah, and when I've listened back to
- 1:11:28my podcast, the ones that I've done that are just me talking
- 1:11:34It's, I think I did a good job. I'm still proud of those
- 1:11:38episodes, but I just don't think they hold a candle to everything
- 1:11:42else that I've done. And then this is not me trying
- 1:11:45to be like, on high grade because all the stuff like that.
- 1:11:47I'm just saying by comparison. It's not in anywhere in the same
- 1:11:50league and the stats kind of suggests that to, I mean, there
- 1:11:56have been some exceptions but the exceptions have been for a
- 1:11:59reason. Like, for instance, I did an
- 1:12:01episode which was like hundredths, Episodes /
- 1:12:05anniversary, one year and naturally that's going to get
- 1:12:09more views because it's the hundredth episode, you know.
- 1:12:12But it was just me talking and I've just noticed those episodes
- 1:12:16don't get as many views and that's fair enough.
- 1:12:18You know, it's not as this not as good, it's not interesting.
- 1:12:22I think it's people see the topic.
- 1:12:24Maybe they kind of know what's coming and I'm never, I'm not
- 1:12:28going to stop doing those episodes because sometimes
- 1:12:30they're necessary. I mean, you get no-shows, it
- 1:12:32happens. You gotta put something out
- 1:12:35there. Something we had scheduling
- 1:12:37issues. Sure, no.
- 1:12:39And that's very common in podcast.
- 1:12:40I'm just happy we managed to do something because that's the
- 1:12:43thing dude. Like and I'll just say this is a
- 1:12:46side though because I've only I don't know if I don't know if
- 1:12:49I've actually mentioned this on the show before I get a lot of
- 1:12:52no-shows as I'm sure you have as well.
- 1:12:55It just happens in podcasting and and that's fine if you're
- 1:13:00busy. Fine.
- 1:13:02But or you know there's something happens reschedule.
- 1:13:05I mean like you know, we've scheduled like you said and it
- 1:13:09wasn't a problem. But communicate you know you got
- 1:13:15to let people know, respect people's that I really respect
- 1:13:18people's time because I don't want my time to be wasted.
- 1:13:21So like you know I'm not gonna like leave your hanging for 15
- 1:13:24minutes, you know, I'm gonna be there on time at the time we
- 1:13:27said we're going to record and that's that because I don't want
- 1:13:30to waste people's time and I don't I get infuriated when I
- 1:13:33get my time wasted. And then that person never gets
- 1:13:37back to me and because I sit down, look, that here's a whole
- 1:13:40page of notes added just for this episode, you know, it's
- 1:13:43like I sit down. I do the research into that
- 1:13:47person and then they don't have the respect to just, you know,
- 1:13:52get back to me and be like, hey can't do the podcast because of
- 1:13:56XY and z or hey like and here's the thing, if you don't want to
- 1:14:00be on the show anymore no problem let me know exactly No,
- 1:14:05and to start in the chest. Yeah.
- 1:14:07It's just disrespectful. Don't waste people's time.
- 1:14:12But you know, when, when things like that happen, I think you
- 1:14:16just have to kind of get used to it, and understand, it's part of
- 1:14:19the game and some now, I kind of tend to, if I, if I have a
- 1:14:24no-show or, you know, something like that, I just leave it, you
- 1:14:28know, a bit longer, you know, because I haven't actually set
- 1:14:31and established day for uploading episodes, I've just
- 1:14:34kind of fallen into a kind of rhythm of once a week.
- 1:14:39That seems to, you know, may I stay in the started in the
- 1:14:41beginning, it was loads to get the numbers, but it wasn't
- 1:14:46purposeful. It was just, I had a lot of
- 1:14:49guests at that time. I'm actually heading into
- 1:14:52November, where I'm going to have more guests as well.
- 1:14:56So I'm just gonna, I'm really thought about it.
- 1:14:58I had some ideas. Maybe I do like Christmas 12
- 1:15:00days thing and now I'm just like, you know, I just do it and
- 1:15:03just see what happens you doing. But generally, I prefer that
- 1:15:08kind of week-by-week thing. I feel like that's A good Rhythm
- 1:15:13for me. It works in my life and it's
- 1:15:15less pressure because there's a lot of, obviously, as you know,
- 1:15:17that goes into podcasting and from editing, to promo to
- 1:15:21everything, it's a process. And if there's too much, it can
- 1:15:24get a bit overwhelming, but I don't know.
- 1:15:28I think that it's is one of those things.
- 1:15:32It's like anything else. It's, you get what you put in,
- 1:15:35you know, and I'm very proud of this podcast now.
- 1:15:39And any time I see, Created such as yourself.
- 1:15:44You know, with the same passion I want to kind of listen to them
- 1:15:49talk. I want to get to know them, I
- 1:15:50want to share that. And you know, that's why for
- 1:15:54instance, that guest I spoke about that didn't have the
- 1:15:57enthusiasm being on my show, it annoyed me because it's like
- 1:16:03wallet. Your kind of Sabotaging my show
- 1:16:09in a way, you know, like no nothing like it, I'm sure.
- 1:16:12They didn't mean to but it's just like the people will look
- 1:16:15back on that episode and be like, oh, this is this is it,
- 1:16:19you know again no, no hard feelings for like I'm sure yeah,
- 1:16:22there's nothing worse than, ya know.
- 1:16:23He was that's the thing and I had a pony.
- 1:16:26I had good questions and I was really trying to get something
- 1:16:30out of it, but it goes back to the willingness thing, you know,
- 1:16:35it's all about that. It's not.
- 1:16:37What about? Like one thing I try to do is
- 1:16:41make every guest. I have feel comfortable and feel
- 1:16:44like they can talk and feel, you know, there's no agenda here.
- 1:16:48It's, you know, you can talk as much as you want, as little as
- 1:16:51you want, whatever, as long as we get something out of this,
- 1:16:53then it's good. But that episode, I would regard
- 1:16:58that as my only Bad episode where I genuinely even now, I'm
- 1:17:04like, Should I release that should it stay there?
- 1:17:08I don't know. You know I've had some people
- 1:17:12mixed you know people still listen to it and got something
- 1:17:15from it but I think it's taught me a lesson that I probably
- 1:17:27won't if I have another episode like that.
- 1:17:34I don't know, I don't know because I feel bad same time
- 1:17:37because it's like an hour of someone's life.
- 1:17:40So now of my life I've heard that some other podcasters what
- 1:17:44they do is, I mean some say that I've heard that some people like
- 1:17:48these are Farm know like hey this might not make it onto the
- 1:17:52show. the actual form itself that I don't know if I'm a fan
- 1:17:56of that, but I think so it could be worth like just going to
- 1:18:01helping like, This might not make it.
- 1:18:04I don't know. I have this same issue.
- 1:18:05No. I know what you mean.
- 1:18:06I know what you mean? Yeah.
- 1:18:07Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:18:10I mean I thought about doing like a short version.
- 1:18:12I thought about I thought about added, I had this idea because
- 1:18:17I'm always having ideas about how I could change my podcast
- 1:18:19and maybe I don't know spice things up.
- 1:18:22Have a different formats, something like that.
- 1:18:25I will always keep the space and it keep it keep it fresh.
- 1:18:29Keep it different because one thing I really want to do is
- 1:18:33more discussion based stuff. I'd love to have a co-host
- 1:18:35where, you know, we talked and discussed topics and That would
- 1:18:39be a different element to episode.
- 1:18:41So you'd have like discussion episodes and then you'd have
- 1:18:46interview episodes and I thought about this idea of doing a
- 1:18:51hybrid so like when those episodes that don't do well as
- 1:18:53well or they're too short, maybe I splice it.
- 1:18:57So I have like half of it is me doing discussions on stuff and
- 1:19:01half of it is, is that interview?
- 1:19:03And I think maybe that's the solution but I just don't know.
- 1:19:07Yeah. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:19:09One step at a time. You try it.
- 1:19:12See, I don't know. But yeah, It's Tricky.
- 1:19:15That's a tricky one but it's hard to Define what should you
- 1:19:18do. As we draw things to a close for
- 1:19:21today. Do you have any upcoming
- 1:19:22projects or maybe some final thoughts that you'd like to
- 1:19:25share with our listeners? Yeah, if you, if you are, if
- 1:19:30you're, if you're in well edit, that if you enjoy listening to
- 1:19:34me, Linguini's do is my podcast. I am currently.
- 1:19:39In the works of a new logo, I'm not a graphic designer but I'm
- 1:19:42working on it. I have illustrator open right
- 1:19:44here in front of me and then I don't have a website.
- 1:19:47Instead of like I have the anchor website.
- 1:19:49I still need to make one. I see, Kristen has a link tree
- 1:19:53so I, you know, still in the works.
- 1:19:57But yeah, I'm figuring out what I want to put it as a niche as I
- 1:20:01guess cuz That is where I'm having the most difficulty is
- 1:20:05deciding what I want this to be about.
- 1:20:07But yeah, if you are interested in, yeah, I think we need to do
- 1:20:10just search on Spotify. Google podcast, Apple podcast
- 1:20:14whatever you listen on should be there.
- 1:20:17So, yeah, go you wait to check it out, guys.
- 1:20:19Linguini's do thank you so much for being here London.
- 1:20:22It's been a real pleasure and yeah, I wish you all the best.
- 1:20:25Yeah, kind of fun. Christian.
- 1:20:27Thanks again. Thanks and for everyone
- 1:20:29listening to the Christian we podcast.
- 1:20:31As always be safe. Be well.
- 1:20:33See you in the next one. See you in the next one.
