Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans welcome in to do vault daily presented by Jinjag.com and fuel by brass tax coffee right now.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: We are talking about what the national media just cannot seem to understand or it doesn't want to understand or it doesn't try to understand about the 2026 Jacksonville Jaguars a team that by the way in year one of a brand new regime, Tony Bicelli brand new at the top.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: James Lazzstone, brand new GM, new front office, new coaching staff, new head coach, Liam Cohen.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you have a couple of holdovers with Heath Farwell and Richard Angulo, but entirely new, right?
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: They go 13 and 4.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: They went scorched earth on the NFL.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: down the stretch last season.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: And another thing, people seem to forget like, it's like, oh, well, the jack wars are not going to be as good as they were last year, blah, blah, blah, they didn't add anyone.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: That's the biggest misnomer in my opinion, that they didn't do anything that will improve their roster.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think that is insane, that they didn't do anything to improve from when they went on that heater at the end of the year.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think they absolutely are improved on paper and in reality in several ways, but at the same time people are forgetting, that's a team that went into Denver and beat them soundly.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's a team that beat the chargers down, that's a team that was blowing everyone out.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: They were awesome.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: They were such a good football team.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: That is a team that was a top 10 offense and a top 10 defense and a top 10 special teams unit.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: And nobody thinks they're very good.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody thinks they're gonna win that if he's South and we think they're gonna win that if he's South.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: And we think they're gonna win that if he's South, right?
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's insane.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: And the biggest argument that people make is that they didn't do anything to improve.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's crazy.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter was not a part of that team.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he played in the first seven games.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: He was not there for that run.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: Do you not think that dropping Travis Hunter into the mix at corner replacing Greg Newsome, dropping him into the mix at receiver?
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: Adding playmaking talent is going to be a change for this team.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a positive impact in year two after adding muscle, looking help the playing is butt off in training camp, having a year to actually kind of like take in the NFL for all that it is.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: You don't think Travis Hunter is a big difference.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what are we doing here?
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: How about the fact that
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: They did not have a healthy Eric Armstead or a healthy train bomb walker during that stretch.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they were out there playing, bustin' their butts, doin' their best, but both of those guys were not what they were before their injuries.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: They were still playing.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: Those guys are healthy right now.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: And this is the first healthy off-season Eric Armstead has had in Jacksonville.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a big deal.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think having those two guys plus you add Ruka Roro Roro,
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: who, like, people forget this guy actually did get a lot of pressures and decent amount of sackclash to your internet land and a bad situation, drop them in a better situation as a rotational piece, you don't think that helps, I know, how you lost Devon Lloyd, dude.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Ventral Miller, Branson Combs, they're ballin' out.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly think Devin Lloyd's uptick in play last year was less a reflection of where he is in his career and more of a reflection of how Anthony Campanile and the Jack Wards can deploy the linebacker position.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's no shade on Devin Lloyd, I'm a fan of Devin Lloyd, but I don't think it's a coincidence that he had a bump last year.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: Offensively, oh, you lose Travis H. T. N. You don't do anything to replace him.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, they prepared to lose travesty team with basal tuton and liquid Allen B.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: They now go from travesty to you.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: Who in terms of success rate?
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yardsburg, Harry?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, his success rate, which is literally like the percentage of runs that you have that keep the offense on schedule was in the 40s among all running backslash here.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: Now you have basal tuton.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: and Lee Quint Allen, or excuse me, Patial Tutan and Chris Rodriguez, who were both top five, top 10.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: You have Chris Rodriguez who can run between the tackles at a high clip.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: You have Basial Tutan in year two.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I think it's crazy.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody wanted, I mean, people didn't even like Travis, he'd be in before last year, he doesn't have that great of a season from a running standpoint.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: And now, the world is falling, or the sky is falling because he's not in Jacksonville.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Just sell it to me.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: Look, I like Travis ETN too.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: I like Lloyd Annie Tien.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: I would not be mad if they were still here.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: But Travis ETN struggles with vision, right?
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: Making the right reads.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Rodriguez does not.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: He's also powerful.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: He runs through tackles.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: He wins against stacked boxes.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: This is not high perbly.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: The number is bare the stuff out.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: He was one of the running backs that faced the most stacked boxes in the NFL last year and he was still one of the most efficient runners.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Basel Tutan, an efficient runner, success rate wise.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's gonna be better in year two in terms of just creating.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: Using his athletic ability.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then, so you have those things, those areas that like, people are like, well, they didn't do anything to improve and they got worse.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: I do not think that they are worse out of linebacker or at running back.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: You're better because of Travis Hunter.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: You're better because of a healthy aircraft set in Trablem Walker.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not even to mention the makeover
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: that the tight end room got.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's a big deal.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think it is a huge deal.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: They are going to be running a lot of 12 personnel.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be running some 13.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: But you now have guys that can execute and multiple facets of the offense, of the scheme in 12 personnel with neighborhood shirt, your first draft pick in 2026.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: People obviously slam the jackwares for that one.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a dang good player.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: And Tanner Khoziel is a dang good player too.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: So now the Jags have a completely different looking Titan room, and oh, by the way, yes, Britain strange, who his return to the offense last year was part of what sparked the run.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Jag wars were 11 and one with him on the field last year.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I just think there's so much that people are missing from a roster standpoint alone.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Then you have the fact that I think the addition
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: of Matthew Arujo is a very, very big deal for the corners.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think the way he coaches them, the attention to detail, the not letting anything pass, not letting any little slip-up go unnoticed.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to lead to better results.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're already seeing that.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: And Brian Picucci, on the other side of the ball,
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to coach up what Liam wants.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have the fact, everybody that was here in 2025, for the most part, out of a couple of people is back and going into year two of a system in which this is a season in which they are getting disrespected by the national media.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: They're not picking up any credit, all of these different things.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: You don't think that year two and Liam Cohen system is going to be better than your one.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: You don't think that you're two and Anthony Campanela system is gonna be a little bit smoother than year one.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: These guys are miles ahead of where they were at this time last year, and they still went 13 and 4 last year.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: You can sleep on the Jaguars if you want.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: National media, I think you are missing the mark in a very big way.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is one of the very best teams in the NFL.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.

- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a good one.
