- 0:02Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls, that's your favorite time
- 0:04Speaker 1: of week. Get download the Crazy sheet, you get you
- 0:07Speaker 1: something to drink, and get ready to talk from college football.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm Mark and I'm out on the road this week
- 0:11Speaker 1: as Scotty's actually back at home. Brother, How the hell
- 0:14Speaker 1: are you?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Man? I'm good soaking it in after a little Army
- 0:17Speaker 2: Navy is fun. We got to hang out at the
- 0:20Speaker 2: ball game a little bit. It was good. What do
- 0:23Speaker 2: you take to your first trip to the game.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I had a wonderful time. It's a completely different environment.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I told somebody kind of gave me some College World
- 0:32Speaker 1: Series vibes, where you just had a lot of people
- 0:34Speaker 1: that are excited.
- 0:35Speaker 2: To be there.
- 0:37Speaker 1: The game itself. Army, it's like they just committed to
- 0:41Speaker 1: running the quarterback and eat and whereas Navy and Eli
- 0:44Speaker 1: Horrbath came out with all kinds of creativeness on that
- 0:47Speaker 1: front and they handed it to Army. I mean, they
- 0:50Speaker 1: dominated that game. And I'm looking forward to watching Navy
- 0:53Speaker 1: next year with horror Bath coming back. I thought that
- 0:55Speaker 1: was fun.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Oh me too, I thought Navy played well. If you
- 0:59Speaker 2: told me it was gonna be thirty one to thirteen,
- 1:01Speaker 2: I'd have been like, well, Army's gonna crush them, They're
- 1:03Speaker 2: gonna move football and that defense is gonna dominate, and
- 1:06Speaker 2: it was just the other way around. Navy was ready
- 1:09Speaker 2: to play. You know, it's first time they've ever played
- 1:11Speaker 2: with one of them playing the week before, So that
- 1:14Speaker 2: was that was interesting that I have no idea how
- 1:18Speaker 2: much baring that hat, because it just looked like Navy
- 1:21Speaker 2: was more ready to play and and candidly, they looked
- 1:25Speaker 2: like the better football team. I loved the play call.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I will tell you that fake punt was so appropriate
- 1:34Speaker 2: at the right time. Just great play called, great spot
- 1:39Speaker 2: on the field, you had to be It surprised me
- 1:41Speaker 2: none that they faked it, and it totally surprised Army,
- 1:43Speaker 2: But I thought, guy, what a great play call on
- 1:46Speaker 2: who They gave it to, an athletic defensive lineman who
- 1:49Speaker 2: was already making plays and really kind of dominating that game.
- 1:53Speaker 2: But that was crucial because Army had cut it to
- 1:56Speaker 2: a score. That was the first time they'd had signs
- 1:59Speaker 2: of life. They got a stop, or what they thought
- 2:02Speaker 2: was to stop. We're about to get the football back
- 2:05Speaker 2: with a chance to tie the ball game. And yes,
- 2:07Speaker 2: they would have had to go for two, But it
- 2:08Speaker 2: felt like that was the only time in the ball
- 2:11Speaker 2: game where they had any momentum and Navy brushed them
- 2:15Speaker 2: with a great play call. I thought that was a
- 2:19Speaker 2: ballsy call, and I think a great call by that
- 2:25Speaker 2: Navy coaching staff. Just a great ball game all the
- 2:28Speaker 2: way around, super fun environment. One of my friends growing up,
- 2:34Speaker 2: a fraternity brother of mine, was the ref for the
- 2:37Speaker 2: ball game. It was great. Took a picture of him
- 2:39Speaker 2: standing out on the field as it was about to
- 2:41Speaker 2: kick off and send him a send him a text message.
- 2:44Speaker 2: His brother was the section over from me, and I
- 2:47Speaker 2: did not know that until postgame because I've known him
- 2:50Speaker 2: my whole life too, So it's pretty fun. Pretty cool
- 2:53Speaker 2: to see a friend of yours get out there and
- 2:55Speaker 2: be in that kind of environment. Pretty good deal. Kevin
- 2:59Speaker 2: is such a great guy, so it was a lot
- 3:01Speaker 2: of fun. I just all around, the weekend was just
- 3:03Speaker 2: a really really good time. Other than I had probably
- 3:07Speaker 2: a cocktail or two too many on Friday night. The
- 3:11Speaker 2: other weekend with the rest of the weekend was pretty good.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah, they had a great time. Right into Nestler. A
- 3:19Speaker 1: couple of times he was calling the game, a couple
- 3:21Speaker 1: of guys from CBS, Sage Steel, not the name dropping
- 3:24Speaker 1: it like I know these people, they were just nice
- 3:26Speaker 1: enough to stop and slo But yeah, I had a
- 3:29Speaker 1: great time. Environment's incredible. I would highly recommend if you're
- 3:33Speaker 1: a true football fan, if you have respect for the game,
- 3:36Speaker 1: if you understand the revelry of the Army Navy game,
- 3:40Speaker 1: you make a trip to go, take a loved one,
- 3:43Speaker 1: take a buddy. It's a different environment than anything you're
- 3:45Speaker 1: gonna see. But you know, between the walk ins, the flyovers,
- 3:50Speaker 1: the parachuting, I mean everything, it's just it was neat,
- 3:54Speaker 1: had a lot of fun and look forward to doing
- 3:56Speaker 1: it again.
- 3:57Speaker 2: The most underrated part of the game is when the
- 3:59Speaker 2: guys who've been that the student body go back. It's
- 4:02Speaker 2: the most underrated part of the game when they go
- 4:04Speaker 2: cruising across back to their student bodies, because there are
- 4:09Speaker 2: a half dozen kids that go to the opposite academy
- 4:12Speaker 2: and they return during the game. So it's a pretty
- 4:16Speaker 2: cool that's a pretty cool scene when they you know,
- 4:19Speaker 2: when they go running across and the student bodies go nuts.
- 4:23Speaker 2: It's just a I mean just a as in general,
- 4:26Speaker 2: as Mark said, just a great thing. If you love
- 4:28Speaker 2: college football. It is an environment that everybody ought to
- 4:31Speaker 2: take in. But you know what, let's get to the playoff. Baby,
- 4:36Speaker 2: Let's do this.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Man, first year college football playoff. I love the fact
- 4:39Speaker 1: that we haven't even played a college football playoff game yet,
- 4:43Speaker 1: and there's massive criticism of how the whole thing is
- 4:45Speaker 1: set up, which I think is comical. That being said, man,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I am ready to dive in. I am so excited
- 4:51Speaker 1: about this. We got one game Friday, we got three
- 4:54Speaker 1: games on Saturday. Scott and I are going to try
- 4:56Speaker 1: to get a couple other bowl games along the way.
- 4:59Speaker 1: First game you got, man, it's got to be the
- 5:00Speaker 1: biggest game in the state of Indiana history as far
- 5:04Speaker 1: as I concern. I saw a guy walking around New
- 5:07Speaker 1: York with an Indiana hat and a Notre Dame pullover on,
- 5:10Speaker 1: and I asked him if he had on Purdue underwear
- 5:13Speaker 1: or if he just cheered for everybody in the state.
- 5:14Speaker 1: He looked at me like I was crazy. But anyway,
- 5:17Speaker 1: Indiana comes in here with maybe the best season in
- 5:20Speaker 1: Indiana football history, finishing up just right off of the
- 5:24Speaker 1: chance to play for the Big Ten championship. You've got
- 5:26Speaker 1: a Notre Dame team who's had an interesting season. You know,
- 5:29Speaker 1: they beat A and M Week one, they turn around
- 5:31Speaker 1: and loose in Northern Illinois, and really people haven't paid
- 5:34Speaker 1: attention too much to Notre Dame as the season's gone,
- 5:37Speaker 1: but they've quietly had a fantastic season to land where
- 5:40Speaker 1: they're at now. When you look at this game, over
- 5:43Speaker 1: the spread now sits around seven. We've seen it floating
- 5:46Speaker 1: Tige at seven and a half, went up to eight,
- 5:48Speaker 1: got bet down. Over under now is at fifty two.
- 5:51Speaker 1: It's going to be cold in South Indiana when you
- 5:55Speaker 1: get ready for this game. But this game is interesting
- 5:57Speaker 1: to me, Scott because of how you've got things bro down,
- 6:00Speaker 1: Like when I look at this Notre Dame offense, you
- 6:03Speaker 1: go back and look at their leading receiver has less
- 6:05Speaker 1: than six hundred yards for the season, and so it's very,
- 6:09Speaker 1: very dependent on Riley Leonard's legs. Two running backs that
- 6:13Speaker 1: I think are both hosses that are probably gonna end
- 6:15Speaker 1: up playing on Sunday and being able to run the ball.
- 6:18Speaker 1: And on the flip side of that, Indiana's rush defense
- 6:20Speaker 1: is kind of the strength of what they've got. They
- 6:22Speaker 1: play a lot of Cover three. I don't think that
- 6:25Speaker 1: they're gonna do it. But my thought is is, if
- 6:27Speaker 1: you're Signetti, he's going to try to make Riley Leonard
- 6:31Speaker 1: beat them with his arm. And I don't know that
- 6:33Speaker 1: Riley Leonard is that talented if he can do it.
- 6:36Speaker 1: But what are your thoughts on how you're going to
- 6:38Speaker 1: look at this game here?
- 6:39Speaker 2: I think Notre Dames just a significantly better football team.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I think Notre Dames legitimately got a chance to win
- 6:44Speaker 2: this because I think I think they're more physical, and look,
- 6:49Speaker 2: I know this was early in the season, but man,
- 6:53Speaker 2: let's not forget how they went on the road and
- 6:56Speaker 2: really kick the shit out of Texas A and M
- 6:58Speaker 2: to start the year. They won that game in a
- 7:00Speaker 2: physical matchup by a team that has now turned out
- 7:03Speaker 2: to be pretty physical, was a game away from being
- 7:06Speaker 2: in this deal themselves. And you know, so that was
- 7:10Speaker 2: not a bad football team. That's a great win for
- 7:12Speaker 2: Notre Dame to go on the road early and do that. Now,
- 7:15Speaker 2: they came back with an equally bad loss the next
- 7:18Speaker 2: the next week, but after that, Notre Dames look good
- 7:21Speaker 2: and they put it on a lot of a lot
- 7:25Speaker 2: of pretty good teams, but they really haven't played that
- 7:28Speaker 2: many great teams. Uh. At the end of the day,
- 7:31Speaker 2: I think this is not another great team in Indiana.
- 7:34Speaker 2: I love Signetti, I love the story. I think it's awesome.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Indiana's basically Mississippi State. How do you not love How
- 7:41Speaker 2: do you not love this story? I mean it's it's
- 7:43Speaker 2: basically my school in the Big Ten. They're always near
- 7:46Speaker 2: the bottom. They don't have that many winning records, they
- 7:49Speaker 2: got so many challenges, they're better at another sport. It's
- 7:53Speaker 2: just this is a tremendous story that he's done. But
- 7:57Speaker 2: at the end of the day, talent matters. Do I
- 7:59Speaker 2: believe lead there's a significant advantage on the sideline and
- 8:04Speaker 2: coaching with Signetti one hundred percent? And where does that?
- 8:09Speaker 2: Where does that translate? Because you know, I love Marcus Freeman,
- 8:12Speaker 2: but he's young.
- 8:12Speaker 1: True.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I mean, at the end of the day, Signetti has
- 8:15Speaker 2: You can't argue this guy is a great football coach.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I mean, it's just the things he's done are impressive
- 8:22Speaker 2: at a lot of different schools, and I just think
- 8:24Speaker 2: he's a really good football coach. But they just do
- 8:27Speaker 2: not match up talent wise with this football team. I
- 8:30Speaker 2: think Notre Dame wins it. I think Notre Dame covers
- 8:33Speaker 2: and that's what I see about this ball game. But
- 8:36Speaker 2: I would love the story of Indiana winning. I hope
- 8:38Speaker 2: the Signetti story keeps going, but I don't think so.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Notre Dame I think is a legit sleeper to win
- 8:43Speaker 2: the Natty.
- 8:45Speaker 1: That's interesting. I haven't made a play in this game yet.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I do like your played at Notre Dame. I have
- 8:49Speaker 1: an eleven to one ticket I bet before the seeding
- 8:52Speaker 1: came out at Notre Dame, just because I thought their
- 8:54Speaker 1: pathway looked good, their rushing attack looks good. You're getting
- 8:58Speaker 1: crossback on the defense, which I think will help this
- 9:00Speaker 1: team immenseally. Yeah, I lean more to the under in
- 9:06Speaker 1: this one. I think you're gonna see a lot of
- 9:09Speaker 1: ground game. And I've said this, I said this before.
- 9:13Speaker 1: You know. Indiana to me is the best group of
- 9:15Speaker 1: five team in the country. Uh And if you look
- 9:20Speaker 1: at Indiana's schedule there, it wasn't that difficult. The two
- 9:23Speaker 1: best teams they played all season long Ohio State in Michigan.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Michigan shut them down and really was able to just
- 9:30Speaker 1: put them in a box, couldn't do much with it.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Ohio State just dominated him from beginning to end uh
- 9:35Speaker 1: and when you look at the rosters, that's about where
- 9:37Speaker 1: you're at now. I mean you're about to line up
- 9:39Speaker 1: a group of five teams. Now, Rourke quarterback is then fantastic.
- 9:43Speaker 1: He's actually one of the higher grade at quarterbacks in
- 9:45Speaker 1: December when his career has been in and that includes
- 9:48Speaker 1: his Ohio time here. But I just think in this matchup,
- 9:51Speaker 1: it's going to cause a problem for him. So where
- 9:53Speaker 1: I lean, it's going to be cold. I lean to
- 9:56Speaker 1: a lot of run games. I think Notre Dame is
- 9:58Speaker 1: going to try to just pound into that defense. And
- 10:01Speaker 1: Notre Dame likes to run a lot of inside zone,
- 10:04Speaker 1: and I think and they're running into the teeth of
- 10:06Speaker 1: that Indiana defense. But I definitely think that they're gonna
- 10:09Speaker 1: be able to wear that team down. Indiana on the
- 10:13Speaker 1: same time they're running game is a lot more outside zone,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and I think that's gonna benefit Notre Dame in a
- 10:18Speaker 1: sense to They've got some linebackers that can roll, They've
- 10:21Speaker 1: got great safety play, so you'll see a lot of
- 10:24Speaker 1: come up from there. But I think Indiana is gonna
- 10:27Speaker 1: I don't know how explosive they're gonna be. I look
- 10:30Speaker 1: for Indiana to be. You know, they're gonna have a
- 10:31Speaker 1: lot of cover one on those corners, and I don't
- 10:34Speaker 1: know that Indiana can just blow the top off the
- 10:36Speaker 1: back of that defense. I'm going under fifty two is
- 10:38Speaker 1: where I'm gonna play this game. So under fifty two
- 10:41Speaker 1: and minus seven would be Scott Night's first two plays
- 10:44Speaker 1: that we've got there, Scott. The next game we've got
- 10:47Speaker 1: especially gonna be cold. It's gonna be a white out.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Saturday at noon, Penn State minus eight and a half
- 10:53Speaker 1: will be hosting SMU over under here is at fifty
- 10:57Speaker 1: three and a half. I know you've dug into this game, brother,
- 11:00Speaker 1: that your man j Big Game. James, Frankly, are we
- 11:03Speaker 1: gonna consider this a big game? Because if we are,
- 11:06Speaker 1: you know, my man Big Game really struggles.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Well, you know, you know he's gonna count it because
- 11:11Speaker 2: they got a chance to win their favorite He's gonna
- 11:13Speaker 2: be lying. It's definitely a big game, even though they
- 11:15Speaker 2: are really playing a power five team. I think this
- 11:20Speaker 2: game is. I mean, you talk about two teams that
- 11:27Speaker 2: I'm not even positive are in the top twelve teams
- 11:30Speaker 2: in the country, because every time Penn State's played anybody good,
- 11:33Speaker 2: they lose. Hey, how they should have lost to Penn State.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I mean at usc USC just blew that game. This
- 11:40Speaker 2: team's not very good. I mean they're really not. And
- 11:45Speaker 2: then I got SMU. I don't think they're any good.
- 11:48Speaker 2: So I mean, it's like, what's really going on here?
- 11:52Speaker 2: This is the matchup to me that I just don't know.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I will say this, I think that environment is gonna
- 11:59Speaker 2: be a lot for SMU to handle. Their biggest stadium
- 12:04Speaker 2: they played in, and let's face it, this game wasn't
- 12:07Speaker 2: a sellout was Virginia. That thing only seats sixty, There
- 12:12Speaker 2: were probably forty there. There's gonna be one hundred and
- 12:16Speaker 2: ten thousand people there, and they're gonna be loud, and
- 12:18Speaker 2: they're gonna be rowdy. And I don't know how much
- 12:21Speaker 2: freshman quarterback is gonna do in that kind of situation.
- 12:24Speaker 2: He's a good athlete, but I don't know that this
- 12:27Speaker 2: sets up well for SMU. Weather's gonna be cold. Everybody's like,
- 12:31Speaker 2: well it gets cold in Dallas. Yeah, in January or
- 12:34Speaker 2: February when you're essay playing football. I mean, it was
- 12:38Speaker 2: thirty five this morning, but it's supposed to be in
- 12:40Speaker 2: the high fifties. Today. I mean it's seventy when this
- 12:45Speaker 2: game kicks off down or close to seventy in Dallas.
- 12:47Speaker 2: When this game's gonna kick off, Man, it is just
- 12:50Speaker 2: not the same. And they're gonna walk up there, and
- 12:53Speaker 2: I understand this game's only in the thirties, but it
- 12:56Speaker 2: is still going to be a cold environment. They are
- 13:00Speaker 2: going to feel like they're on the moon up there.
- 13:02Speaker 2: People that haven't been to State College, I don't want
- 13:04Speaker 2: to hear startles in the middle of nowhere. State College
- 13:07Speaker 2: is in the middle of down nowhere, I mean nowhere
- 13:10Speaker 2: hard to get to. I mean it is awful. I
- 13:12Speaker 2: mean it's brutal to get up there. But it's a
- 13:14Speaker 2: wonderful environment and a great town and a great and
- 13:17Speaker 2: obviously a great school in great campus. So it's a
- 13:20Speaker 2: So I just think this doesn't set up well. But
- 13:22Speaker 2: I don't have confidence in either one of these things.
- 13:24Speaker 2: I will tell you I want no part of this game.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Penn State ought to cover, but I want no part
- 13:30Speaker 2: of this. James Franklin and an important game. You're telling
- 13:33Speaker 2: me to lay over a touchdown with James frank And
- 13:37Speaker 2: it's like, oh, you got SMU with a freshman quarterback
- 13:39Speaker 2: going in this avit. I want nothing on this ball game.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I don't know what to think.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Get well, I tell what I'm gonna do. I'm going
- 13:47Speaker 1: under in this game. Fifty three and a half is
- 13:49Speaker 1: the number. It's only getting thirty percent of the tickets
- 13:51Speaker 1: at CIRCA, but it's got ninety one percent of the money.
- 13:54Speaker 1: And I'm not just betting it for that. You've got
- 13:56Speaker 1: a weather forecast coming in how that day is going
- 13:58Speaker 1: to be twenty five degrees and it wins between eleven
- 14:01Speaker 1: and fifteen miles an hour. Typically that fifteen miles an
- 14:04Speaker 1: hour is mark is when you're everything starts going over.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Our shirts going under, not everything, but at the higher
- 14:11Speaker 1: percentage anyway. But you know, I've looked at this game
- 14:14Speaker 1: pretty hard.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Now.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Penn State had a big opt out. Their backup quarterback
- 14:17Speaker 1: opted out. I know that doesn't sound like a package,
- 14:21Speaker 1: but that they had packages for that kid, right, and
- 14:24Speaker 1: he's out of this game. Drew Aylers does a really
- 14:27Speaker 1: good job to me of not turning over the ball.
- 14:29Speaker 1: And that's what you've seen all season last year. Coming
- 14:33Speaker 1: in this year, I thought the kid was going to
- 14:34Speaker 1: be explosive. But and with Kola Nikki being the quarterback.
- 14:37Speaker 1: You know, the new offensive coordinator up there. I think
- 14:39Speaker 1: he's really done a good job trying to figure out
- 14:42Speaker 1: packages that work best for him. That's why we see
- 14:44Speaker 1: Tyler Warren. That guy's gonna line up probably in four
- 14:47Speaker 1: different positions in this game. But I look for a
- 14:50Speaker 1: really hard ground and pound games from Penn State, and
- 14:55Speaker 1: I really think if you go look at the SMU linebackers,
- 14:58Speaker 1: they're not that big. Two forty is what they're weighing
- 15:01Speaker 1: in at fast, can run sideline to sideline great, But
- 15:05Speaker 1: where Penn State's gonna excels. I think if they can
- 15:08Speaker 1: get that offensive line to the second level for blocking purposes,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I really think they're gonna be able to dominate this
- 15:14Speaker 1: game on the ground. And with SMU, they're a fun story.
- 15:17Speaker 1: They've got a lot of talent. They've got some solid
- 15:19Speaker 1: defensive talent. That's something most people have overlooked. And that's
- 15:22Speaker 1: where I think this But I think this game is
- 15:24Speaker 1: gonna go under. I think the game's too big for
- 15:26Speaker 1: SMU's offense. I think they're gonna try a lot of
- 15:29Speaker 1: that you know, RPO stuff that they've been running. I
- 15:32Speaker 1: don't know how electric Jennings is gonna be in this environment.
- 15:35Speaker 1: I'm going Penn State SMU under fifty three and a half.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Probably my favorite play so far in this one, Scotty.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Let's move to Austin, Texas. Clemson coming in here getting
- 15:46Speaker 1: twelve points over unders fifty one and a half. This
- 15:50Speaker 1: is a rematch between clayde Kevenick and Quinn Yeers when
- 15:52Speaker 1: they were in high school playing against each other. Talking
- 15:55Speaker 1: about a team you're not sure if they're any good.
- 15:58Speaker 1: You've got the Clemson Tigers coming into this when and
- 16:01Speaker 1: backing their way into the College Football Playoff. Whi's good
- 16:04Speaker 1: for them. And I don't know if you saw this, Scottie,
- 16:07Speaker 1: did you see what Davo Sweny did this week?
- 16:09Speaker 2: He took a transfer, He took a transfer, he got.
- 16:16Speaker 1: He got the best FCS receiver in the country. I'm
- 16:22Speaker 1: telling you right now, folks, if Davos starts, if Davo
- 16:26Speaker 1: starts taking some portal kids, hang on, because this thing
- 16:30Speaker 1: could get fun for Clemson again. I'm being serious about that.
- 16:33Speaker 2: And he's got he wants to compete for Natty's. Look
- 16:36Speaker 2: that's that's the bottom line. And look, they got some
- 16:40Speaker 2: talented young wide receivers. You go compliment that with a
- 16:43Speaker 2: really good guy who's overachieving, who's obviously a hard worker
- 16:47Speaker 2: at the FCS level, that could blend really well. That
- 16:50Speaker 2: kid they've got from Texas, that kid's player, and and
- 16:53Speaker 2: I I think I think Dabo's doing the right thing.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I also understand not wanting to ruin the culture he's got,
- 17:01Speaker 2: but you do have when you miss on guys, you
- 17:04Speaker 2: got to go fill them in the portal. And I
- 17:06Speaker 2: but that can also mess up your chemistry. So look,
- 17:09Speaker 2: I am softening with everything that's going on with teams
- 17:13Speaker 2: are bringing in so many guys. I think locker rooms
- 17:16Speaker 2: are a mess. And I think that is why you're
- 17:18Speaker 2: seeing the huge swings and performance on guys like Georgia
- 17:24Speaker 2: and teams like that, where they're just they're tremendous one
- 17:27Speaker 2: week and then look very pedestrian the next week, because
- 17:30Speaker 2: I think the locker rooms are a mess. Their depth
- 17:32Speaker 2: isn't as good, they don't all have the same work ethic.
- 17:35Speaker 2: It's kind of a it's kind of a different deal.
- 17:36Speaker 2: So I think some of this may come to Clemson too,
- 17:39Speaker 2: in that the cohesiveness of their locker room may help.
- 17:44Speaker 2: But he's got to continue to upgrade talent a little bit,
- 17:47Speaker 2: because you're going to miss when you're recruiting high school kids.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and so look at this one's an interesting matchup
- 17:54Speaker 1: for me. Clemson has not been able to run the ball.
- 17:57Speaker 1: They have not been able to get Phil Maffa going.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Their best rusher of the last four or five weeks
- 18:01Speaker 1: has been clubbing, and I don't know how that's gonna
- 18:04Speaker 1: fair against this Texas defense. This Texas defense is good.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I think it's probably the best unit on the field.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Their front seven and solid. I like their defensive backfield
- 18:13Speaker 1: against the Clemson wide receivers. I lean to take Texas
- 18:17Speaker 1: minus to twelve, but I don't really want to lay
- 18:19Speaker 1: that many points. I'm going under fifty one and a half,
- 18:22Speaker 1: So I'm playing.
- 18:22Speaker 2: This one under fifty one and a half is probably
- 18:26Speaker 2: a very good play, especially going back and looking at
- 18:29Speaker 2: that Georgia game. We thought this team would be able
- 18:31Speaker 2: to score on Georgia. They couldn't. They were completely overmatched.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I think that may very well be what we run
- 18:38Speaker 2: into here in this ball game. I like Texas and
- 18:42Speaker 2: the points too, so I think they're just a better
- 18:45Speaker 2: football team. I do think being at home is a
- 18:47Speaker 2: big part of the advantage here. Even though Texas is
- 18:50Speaker 2: not an extremely difficult place to play, it is gonna matter.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I do think it'll be loud enough and make enough
- 18:58Speaker 2: of a difference that the Longhorns get done. I just
- 19:00Speaker 2: think they're a better football team. But it is interesting.
- 19:05Speaker 2: This will be a small play for me because of
- 19:07Speaker 2: the quarterback situation. I just don't I don't know what
- 19:10Speaker 2: we got that. He is not playing very well right now.
- 19:14Speaker 2: They very clearly. I don't know if he's gonna end
- 19:16Speaker 2: up in the portal when this is all over. It
- 19:19Speaker 2: is fascinating to see is he coming back, is he
- 19:22Speaker 2: going pro? Is he going because I don't think he's
- 19:23Speaker 2: coming back to Texas, you know, I think archs Manning
- 19:27Speaker 2: is probably taken over next year. So it's fascinating to
- 19:30Speaker 2: see what's going on with that team. How much do
- 19:32Speaker 2: they play Manning. There's a lot of question marks. I'll
- 19:36Speaker 2: get involved in this because I think Texas is better
- 19:40Speaker 2: and I just think there's not a lot of upside.
- 19:43Speaker 2: If Clemson is going to stay in ball games, they
- 19:46Speaker 2: have to be able to move the football, control of
- 19:48Speaker 2: the clock. I don't think they can do that in
- 19:50Speaker 2: this ball game. And then the flip side of that
- 19:53Speaker 2: is they need their defense to be able to dominate.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I don't think they got the athletes to be able
- 19:56Speaker 2: to do that on the defensive. On the defensive side
- 19:59Speaker 2: of the ball. To with this Texas offense, I think
- 20:02Speaker 2: they'll be able to make some plays. So that's the
- 20:04Speaker 2: reason I like Texas. But again a lot of question
- 20:06Speaker 2: marks for me, what's going on on that offensive side
- 20:11Speaker 2: of the ball and the thought process of that staff,
- 20:14Speaker 2: the team, the coaches, the players. You got to think
- 20:16Speaker 2: about all this. So it's interesting.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go under. I think this is my
- 20:22Speaker 1: favorite play of this game. I just think that Clemson's
- 20:26Speaker 1: going to really struggle to move the ball. I think
- 20:28Speaker 1: Sark's gonna want to protect Quinn Yours not be explosive. Look,
- 20:33Speaker 1: the three best defenses that Texas has played all season
- 20:36Speaker 1: long is A and M. In Georgia twice, they couldn't
- 20:40Speaker 1: break twenty.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Yep, and that's why this game is gonna be close.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Yeah, Clemson's defense is not far off of that. It's
- 20:49Speaker 1: not as good as either one of those units, I
- 20:51Speaker 1: don't think, but it's not that far off. And I
- 20:53Speaker 1: think this game is going to go under. I mean,
- 20:56Speaker 1: they're getting the tackle back banks for Texas, which I
- 20:58Speaker 1: think is a big deal. Sark would love to control
- 21:01Speaker 1: the gaball on the ground and not have to rely
- 21:04Speaker 1: on quinn Ewers to blow the top off the defense
- 21:06Speaker 1: because he hadn't be able to do it, frankly, all season,
- 21:08Speaker 1: and so I look for a lot of ground game here.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I'm going under fifty one and a half. I'm probably
- 21:13Speaker 1: gonna play some unders in the first half all these
- 21:15Speaker 1: games too, because it's been pretty slow starting for most
- 21:17Speaker 1: of these offenses in Bowl Sason. Next one you got here,
- 21:20Speaker 1: Scott at Tennessee traveling to the Horseshoe line seven and
- 21:24Speaker 1: a half over under forty six and a half. This
- 21:27Speaker 1: game's fascinating to me. Ohio State since losing the Michigan
- 21:33Speaker 1: and all the revel real we need to fire Ryan Day.
- 21:36Speaker 1: What are we doing? It's been real quiet out of Columbus,
- 21:40Speaker 1: and now you're starting to hear rumors that Mike Bramble
- 21:44Speaker 1: is just waiting to take over at Ohio State. Whether
- 21:47Speaker 1: that's true or not, I don't know, but I've seen
- 21:49Speaker 1: it from a couple of guys that I kind of
- 21:50Speaker 1: enjoy their content from coming into this one. So you've
- 21:53Speaker 1: got to wonder what's going on in the locker room
- 21:56Speaker 1: with Ohio State. Is it the you know, us against
- 21:59Speaker 1: the world mentality? Is it like, damn it, we screwed
- 22:02Speaker 1: this thing out. I mean, there's a lot of that
- 22:03Speaker 1: going on. I'm sure well.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Their fan base clearly doesn't have that attitude, because evidently
- 22:08Speaker 2: there's gonna be more Tennessee fans in that stadium than
- 22:10Speaker 2: there are based on ticket sales. I mean, tickets are
- 22:13Speaker 2: a hundred bucks. You got all those fans that don't
- 22:16Speaker 2: even want to go to the game, and the volunteers
- 22:20Speaker 2: are talking about having a takeover. It's like if they
- 22:24Speaker 2: have even close to as many fans as they're saying
- 22:28Speaker 2: they're going to have and they've got forty fifty percent
- 22:31Speaker 2: of that stadium, holy smokes man. You talk about Ryan
- 22:37Speaker 2: Day doesn't have a chance. I don't think he's got
- 22:39Speaker 2: a chance, because that says the fan base is done
- 22:42Speaker 2: with him.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I can buy tickets for one hundred dollars to this game.
- 22:49Speaker 1: That's unbelievable, unbelievable. There's tickets all over I'm just looking
- 22:55Speaker 1: right now as you said that, you can literally buy
- 22:58Speaker 1: some of the best seats in the house to this
- 23:02Speaker 1: game for.
- 23:05Speaker 2: I mean, I'm telling you, and let me tell you something.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Tennessee fans are gonna show up just like that, just
- 23:12Speaker 2: like they went to Norman. I mean, they're gonna go.
- 23:15Speaker 2: They support this football team, they're excited. I personally think
- 23:19Speaker 2: Tennessee's a year away. I really do. I think next
- 23:22Speaker 2: year they are going to be dead ass nasty. But
- 23:27Speaker 2: but can they win this football game? Yes, but you're
- 23:30Speaker 2: talking about unders. We've been under in every ball game.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Give me the under here. Tennessee hadn't busted twenty on
- 23:38Speaker 2: any when they play anybody good that they've been held
- 23:41Speaker 2: in check by everybody except Alabama. That was a home game.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Weather's gonna be cold. I think it's slow scoring, But
- 23:49Speaker 2: that Tennessee defense is good enough, and I think it's
- 23:51Speaker 2: gonna give this Ohio State offense all kinds of problems.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Hell are they ain't gonna try to throw it down
- 23:56Speaker 2: the field. They certainly didn't against against Michigan. I just
- 24:03Speaker 2: who the hell knows what you're gonna get out of them.
- 24:05Speaker 2: I'll take the under. I think I think Ohio State's
- 24:08Speaker 2: gonna figure out how to win this game because I
- 24:10Speaker 2: do think they're more talented, But I think the under
- 24:13Speaker 2: is your best plaint. Does anybody really think this is
- 24:15Speaker 2: gonna be a thirty eight thirty five kind of ballgame
- 24:19Speaker 2: or a twenty eight thirty one you know something I don't.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I think this is gonna be a mud fight. I
- 24:24Speaker 2: mean it may be ten to seven, you know, it
- 24:26Speaker 2: may be thirteen, you know, thirteen to thirteen to ten
- 24:30Speaker 2: or twenty to seventeen. I think that's what we're gonna
- 24:33Speaker 2: get out of this ball game, which makes me lean
- 24:36Speaker 2: towards Tennessee covering eight and a half. But against most
- 24:39Speaker 2: of the good team. You know, they didn't do it
- 24:40Speaker 2: against Georgia. You know, when they've played some better teams,
- 24:42Speaker 2: they hadn't done it. I thought for sure they would
- 24:44Speaker 2: hang around with Georgia. They and they couldn't do it.
- 24:47Speaker 2: That Georgia defense really stuffed this offense. I'm expecting the
- 24:50Speaker 2: exact same thing out of Ohio State. So where I
- 24:53Speaker 2: like the most is the under.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I'm with you. I was dead under on this one.
- 24:57Speaker 1: If I was taking any team that I think can
- 25:00Speaker 1: pull the upset at plus two thirty five on the
- 25:02Speaker 1: money line, I would take Tennessee. And if I were
- 25:06Speaker 1: gonna parlay two money line underdogs. I don't know that
- 25:11Speaker 1: I've got one.
- 25:12Speaker 2: I don't think I've gotten one. If you've got one,
- 25:14Speaker 2: I think you gotta take SMU because I think the
- 25:19Speaker 2: team that's most likely to blow it's probably Penn State.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I would see that. Yeah, so, but I would definitely
- 25:25Speaker 1: tell you I may I'm gonna play the under, and
- 25:27Speaker 1: I might throw me a little PiZZ of money on
- 25:29Speaker 1: an under and a plus two thirty five money line
- 25:32Speaker 1: parlay on Tennessee to pull the upset in that one. Scotty,
- 25:37Speaker 1: that's our four games that we got. Man, Let's let's
- 25:39Speaker 1: get a couple other bowl games in there. Friday night,
- 25:42Speaker 1: Friday noon two lane in Florida play. I can't figure
- 25:47Speaker 1: this one. This is interesting to me. I am all
- 25:49Speaker 1: on Florida minus eleven and a half two lanes quarterbacks
- 25:53Speaker 1: already opted out. He's in the portal. Two lane season
- 25:56Speaker 1: kind of ended on a play. You know, they dropped
- 25:58Speaker 1: their last two games and didn't look good in either. Frankly,
- 26:02Speaker 1: and you've got a Florida team that's peaking, I mean,
- 26:05Speaker 1: really playing well. At the end of the season, rallied
- 26:08Speaker 1: around their freshman quarterback and Lagway rallied around Napier. The
- 26:12Speaker 1: recruiting class, the transfer portal class is starting to shape up.
- 26:15Speaker 1: This Florida team overachieved you and I said they would
- 26:19Speaker 1: be good. I mean over under win tolls four and
- 26:21Speaker 1: a half, and we talked about this in August. But
- 26:24Speaker 1: Florida minus eleven and a half. I think this team's
- 26:26Speaker 1: gonna be really excited to play. I haven't seen any negativity.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I haven't seen a lot of portal jumping. I think
- 26:32Speaker 1: this team's gonna because I think Florida's gonna fucking rip
- 26:34Speaker 1: these news a new one.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Give me, give me the Gators. I couldn't agree with
- 26:38Speaker 2: you more. I think the Gators are I think they're
- 26:42Speaker 2: going to cruise in this ball game.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I don't have much on Coastal Carolina and UTSA. I've
- 26:48Speaker 1: seen UTSA has gotten released by a couple of services,
- 26:51Speaker 1: but that was at minus seven. It's clacked all the
- 26:53Speaker 1: way up to new number and ten. I got nothing
- 26:56Speaker 1: on Northern Illinois and President State. On Monday Tuesday, an
- 27:00Speaker 1: interesting game South Florida in San Jose State. I don't
- 27:03Speaker 1: know if most people have got a chance to watch
- 27:04Speaker 1: you do one of these teams but they're both fun
- 27:07Speaker 1: to watch. San Jose State's got a legitimate NFL wide
- 27:10Speaker 1: receiver in Nash And so where would you play this game?
- 27:14Speaker 2: Let me tell you something about Nash. He led how
- 27:16Speaker 2: that guy in run the bulletnikof is a is completely
- 27:21Speaker 2: offensive to the award. We need to let half these
- 27:25Speaker 2: jackass media guys that are awards never vote on anything again.
- 27:30Speaker 2: He led receiving in every category, pretty much everything. I mean,
- 27:36Speaker 2: the guy had a phenomenal year, just a great year.
- 27:39Speaker 2: I ain't there. I think they're gonna score points. Weather's
- 27:42Speaker 2: gonna be great. It's obviously not a big trip for
- 27:45Speaker 2: them out to Hawaii. I ain't. I don't. I think
- 27:47Speaker 2: they're gonna score too many points for South Florida to
- 27:49Speaker 2: be able to keep up in this ball game. Man,
- 27:52Speaker 2: I like San Jose State a lot in this ball game.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Actually do too.
- 27:56Speaker 1: You got coach Ken going home, Baby got it going home.
- 28:00Speaker 1: That's pretty exciting. Following day Thursday to twenty six, Look
- 28:05Speaker 1: at this one. You got a couple of Pittsburgh, Toledo, Rutgers,
- 28:07Speaker 1: Kansas State, Archy State, Bowling Green. I'm gonna lean to
- 28:11Speaker 1: you on this. And you've been to Rutgers in a
- 28:12Speaker 1: MATC Gwall season. Is there any value in these lines?
- 28:16Speaker 2: Man? Not really. I mean the Mac is getting just,
- 28:22Speaker 2: I mean just absolutely pummeled in the portal right now,
- 28:25Speaker 2: So you know, I don't I don't really feel good
- 28:29Speaker 2: the value in this line's pitt I do like Pittsburgh.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I think this team is gonna be a line of scrimmage.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Toledo was not playing well down the stretch. Give me
- 28:39Speaker 2: pitt here. That just doesn't look like enough points. At
- 28:42Speaker 2: the end of the day, this is still a mid
- 28:43Speaker 2: level and it's a shot because I know and I
- 28:45Speaker 2: don't mean it to be, but it's a mid level
- 28:47Speaker 2: MAC team against a mid level Power five team. That
- 28:50Speaker 2: should be a blowout. That's bout of mine. Pittsburgh shows up,
- 28:54Speaker 2: they cover, and they cover what I think is pretty easily.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I will give you another game to night that I
- 29:00Speaker 2: got a little bit of love for in the New
- 29:03Speaker 2: Orleans RNL Carriers Bowl. Georgia Southern Base. I like a
- 29:08Speaker 2: little Georgia Southern laying three and a half against Sam Houston.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I think they'll score too many points for Sam to
- 29:13Speaker 2: be able to keep up.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I do too. Sam's offense, you know, the quarterback got hurt,
- 29:18Speaker 1: came back in. I guess it was that game I
- 29:21Speaker 1: went to and I went and watched him play. Who
- 29:23Speaker 1: was at Liberty? Maybe anyway, one of the games that
- 29:25Speaker 1: we knows. Lateg and their offense is just kind of
- 29:28Speaker 1: sputtered out the end of the season. Sam Houston's coach,
- 29:31Speaker 1: Casey Keeler has left Sam Houston to go to Temple.
- 29:34Speaker 1: I don't know if that's an easier job or a
- 29:36Speaker 1: harder job.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 29:37Speaker 1: They've also lost the offensive coordinator or the offensive coordinator
- 29:41Speaker 1: is going to be calling this game. The defensive coordinator
- 29:43Speaker 1: is also going. And then I don't know if you
- 29:45Speaker 1: saw this or not, but Phil Longo is coming home
- 29:48Speaker 1: and taking over the Sam Houston State job as the
- 29:51Speaker 1: new head coach. They just they met the other day.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I thought that was interesting. But yes, I would lean
- 29:56Speaker 1: with Georgia Southern tonight. I don't have a lot of
- 29:59Speaker 1: faith in this team. They can't move the ball. I
- 30:02Speaker 1: think they're gonna Georgia State's defense is awful, awful. I mean,
- 30:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna probably get something involved on the over, but
- 30:09Speaker 1: I just I don't think Sam's gonna be able to
- 30:12Speaker 1: put up enough points.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Which fy Nash. I thought he had opted out of
- 30:16Speaker 2: the ball game, but I still think they cover. I
- 30:18Speaker 2: want to say that because I was ranning and raving
- 30:20Speaker 2: about him how good of a player is, And I
- 30:22Speaker 2: do think he's a great player, and he should opt
- 30:24Speaker 2: out of this ball game because that guy's the first
- 30:26Speaker 2: rounder probably, But I still think they cover this ball game.
- 30:30Speaker 2: I still think they're gonna score too many points for
- 30:34Speaker 2: South Florida to keep up.
- 30:37Speaker 1: All right, quick recap. We got Florida minus eleven, eleven
- 30:41Speaker 1: and a half in that game.
- 30:42Speaker 2: It's on Friday.
- 30:42Speaker 1: They game actually moved since we started talking about it.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Notre Dame Indiana Scotti. How you playing that one again?
- 30:49Speaker 2: I think I'm going to I'm probably my I'm probably
- 30:53Speaker 2: playing it both ways. The under is probably my favorite bet.
- 30:57Speaker 2: I kind of the same way, But I think IND's
- 30:58Speaker 2: gonna win by more than seven.
- 31:00Speaker 3: And in that ball game, yeah, I'm dead under on
- 31:03Speaker 3: all four of the playoff games, Penn State s m
- 31:08Speaker 3: U TC Texas, and then I lean with t I
- 31:10Speaker 3: lean with Tennessee minus seven.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna try to find a flat seven and probably play.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Tennessee's give me plus seven and a half.
- 31:17Speaker 1: But I'm taking under and all four of those games
- 31:19Speaker 1: as well.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I think, I think. I think unders are good
- 31:23Speaker 2: plays in all of these and look obvious, clearly all
- 31:26Speaker 2: four aren't gonna go under. I wouldn't think but they are.
- 31:30Speaker 2: But I think, but I think you're certainly gonna you
- 31:34Speaker 2: certainly are putting your best money in play on those unders,
- 31:37Speaker 2: because I do think they're going There's gonna be a
- 31:39Speaker 2: lot of height. They've had a lot of time to
- 31:41Speaker 2: study these teams, and I just think I think you're
- 31:45Speaker 2: gonna see some slugfests on these home games.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I'm super interested to see an SMU at noon at
- 31:53Speaker 1: Penn State. And now that you've told me about the
