- 0:00Speaker 1: The force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello, everyone's welcome back to another episode of I almost
- 0:22Speaker 2: said slice the film right there, it's Star Wars Alliance. Guys.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Wow, I haven't heard that in a very long time.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I know, right two years. It's somehow my friend said
- 0:34Speaker 2: slice of film. Hello everyone, Welcome back to another episode
- 0:38Speaker 2: of Star Wars. Lines your home on the geek Ultimate
- 0:41Speaker 2: Lives podcast network cray all Star Wars where we have
- 0:45Speaker 2: the lives where you get all the mistakes basically so
- 0:49Speaker 2: you know, you know.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Script we fly.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Oh, hello, guys. Hello Clay Clay is joining me as
- 0:58Speaker 2: heard as the usual.
- 1:00Speaker 4: How are you doing?
- 1:01Speaker 3: Sorry, I'm doing pretty good. As the g u E knows.
- 1:07Speaker 3: There's some things in the works in my life that
- 1:09Speaker 3: are very quickly ramping up. I am nowhere near ready
- 1:16Speaker 3: to announce it, but I will say things are happening
- 1:19Speaker 3: and it seems very very fun and very exciting and
- 1:22Speaker 3: also very very scary. So we'll see how all of
- 1:27Speaker 3: this turns out. It will be an announcement soon. I
- 1:31Speaker 3: say soon. Just know that there will be an announcement eventually.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I have no idea how real the timeline is, so
- 1:42Speaker 3: we'll just wait and see.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Going to be a lot of fun, I hope. So
- 1:50Speaker 2: I am currently in the process of moving my office.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Hence while you see all this furniture in the background
- 1:57Speaker 2: and boxes and stuff, because I had packed up books.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Then we didn't end up moving.
- 2:03Speaker 2: So now I'm kind of like, do I leave them
- 2:05Speaker 2: in the box or do I bring them back out?
- 2:07Speaker 4: Because I love my books.
- 2:09Speaker 2: But next week you will see me in a different location,
- 2:14Speaker 2: so hopefully we get.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Because I'm like, I'm ready on a shelf.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna go back to full canon order,
- 2:25Speaker 2: so I might do like a social media post I'm
- 2:29Speaker 2: putting my bookshelves together.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Who knows?
- 2:32Speaker 3: So I, uh, it's funny that you say that. So
- 2:36Speaker 3: currently Abby is Abby's office is literally like the well,
- 2:41Speaker 3: I can't even speak literally the like my whole mouth
- 2:45Speaker 3: has just stopped working. It was like I was having
- 2:48Speaker 3: a struggle. Uh. The back half of our bedroom is
- 2:53Speaker 3: or the front half of our bedroom is her office space. Uh,
- 2:57Speaker 3: and all you see behind her in every single one
- 3:00Speaker 3: of her meetings is all of my Star Wars books.
- 3:04Speaker 3: So she's like, Clay, can you do something about this?
- 3:07Speaker 3: And I was like, not really because of how small
- 3:10Speaker 3: the apartment is. But I can fix the clutter. So
- 3:15Speaker 3: we bought like a small, like six cubed shelf to
- 3:18Speaker 3: put literally right next to our front door. And I
- 3:23Speaker 3: got all of the non Cannon books that have not
- 3:30Speaker 3: gotten a Essential Legends reprint, because those are all nice
- 3:35Speaker 3: and uniform and they look slick, so I'm keeping them
- 3:38Speaker 3: on this bigger shelf. But all of the mass market
- 3:42Speaker 3: books that we have been reading or planning on reading,
- 3:47Speaker 3: I have on that shelf next to the front door.
- 3:52Speaker 3: So I am also reorganizing a lot of my books.
- 3:55Speaker 3: So it's really funny that you mentioned that.
- 3:59Speaker 4: And it'll be a lot of fun.
- 4:00Speaker 2: And who knows, maybe I'll have Matt like referee, and
- 4:06Speaker 2: like maybe I'll put the eras together in the Cannon
- 4:09Speaker 2: order like we always talked about doing. How I could
- 4:12Speaker 2: put link the books in order. It could be fun. Anyways, guys,
- 4:20Speaker 2: life talk. We are here, Guys. We have a couple
- 4:25Speaker 2: pieces of news. We have an Emmy, like a massive
- 4:28Speaker 2: Immy for and or season two, and then we have
- 4:33Speaker 2: a first look picture at Star Wars Starfighter, and then
- 4:39Speaker 2: to close us up, we're gonna be talking about Charles
- 4:43Speaker 2: Soul's Darth Vader run issues thirteen through twenty five. So
- 4:48Speaker 2: that's what you can expect here, guys. But Clay, take
- 4:51Speaker 2: us into the first topic because I also forgot that
- 4:54Speaker 2: I said I was gonna post the link on Instagram.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Well, also before we into that, I do want to
- 5:01Speaker 3: add one more topic, and it's just very, very small.
- 5:06Speaker 3: The launch of the Star Wars, a New Hope manga.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just started its campaign on Kickstarter yesterday. I
- 5:19Speaker 3: don't know how long it particularly took. It says it
- 5:24Speaker 3: needs to reach its goal by October seventeenth in order
- 5:28Speaker 3: to be successfully fulfilled. Before you even click on it,
- 5:34Speaker 3: it literally says three hundred percent funded, so it's already
- 5:37Speaker 3: done less than twenty four hours, I am pretty sure.
- 5:45Speaker 3: So yeah, that's super exciting.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I know it was like super special edition, so it
- 5:54Speaker 2: was like expensive.
- 5:58Speaker 3: So right now looking at the different tiers, there is
- 6:04Speaker 3: a digital archive is thirty five dollars, so that is
- 6:08Speaker 3: already expensive within itself. A digital copy of this book
- 6:11Speaker 3: is thirty five dollars. Collector's edition eighty five dollars. There
- 6:19Speaker 3: are variant covers for this getting that collection edition is
- 6:26Speaker 3: ninety dollars. Wow. The Collector's edition with the slipcase is
- 6:32Speaker 3: one hundred dollars, and.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I'm saying, wow, I just paid a buttload of money
- 6:39Speaker 2: for the airgim kickstarter, so I can't say, min.
- 6:46Speaker 4: I think.
- 6:48Speaker 3: So there is two more types of editions. There is
- 6:53Speaker 3: the Masterpiece Edition which has the white box with the blue,
- 7:00Speaker 3: red and black slip cases. That is two hundred dollars.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Then there is a Masterpiece Edition with the Tripitch folio set,
- 7:13Speaker 3: which is basically a fold a trifle that is two
- 7:17Speaker 3: hundred and sixty five dollars, and the signed Deluxe Edition
- 7:23Speaker 3: with art prints is three hundred dollars. There are still
- 7:27Speaker 3: tiers going higher and higher. I am going to scroll
- 7:30Speaker 3: all the way down just so you know the max amount,
- 7:35Speaker 3: and sometimes they will tell you, oh, there is already
- 7:39Speaker 3: ten people who have backed this tier at two thousand dollars.
- 7:46Speaker 3: It is the Tamaki Original Legacy Bundle limited to ten,
- 7:51Speaker 3: so all ten have already been purchased. Includes signed deluxe editions,
- 7:56Speaker 3: both collectors variants, art prints, folio, and one of a
- 7:59Speaker 3: kind original artwork drawn by Tamaki himself. The rarest way
- 8:04Speaker 3: to own this project includes the digital PDF as well.
- 8:09Speaker 3: So people are a bit insane.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Kickstarters are wild.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, they are.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so you have the two thousand dollars and then
- 8:20Speaker 2: you have the one hundred and ninety dollars.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's a bit crazy, but I will say,
- 8:30Speaker 3: like crowdfunding is always even some of the biggest companies
- 8:37Speaker 3: like you see here will do crowdfunding. It's crazy. But like,
- 8:43Speaker 3: at the same time, I know that, like what's the saying, like, oh, uh,
- 8:49Speaker 3: the rich just keep getting richer because they don't use
- 8:52Speaker 3: their own money, Like I know, there's an actual phrase
- 8:55Speaker 3: for it, but like learning that growing up, I'm like,
- 8:59Speaker 3: how does that even makes sense? How can rich people
- 9:02Speaker 3: not use their own money to do this kind of thing?
- 9:04Speaker 3: And then there's literal evidence.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Like this, Yeah, I've always considered kickstarter basically like a
- 9:10Speaker 2: pre order, like Okay, we need like a certain amount
- 9:13Speaker 2: of copies to make this happen, Like is your interest?
- 9:18Speaker 3: So a little inside baseball on the publishing front, because
- 9:23Speaker 3: I was also you know, kind of in that for
- 9:26Speaker 3: the last year. That's not always the case because of
- 9:31Speaker 3: how because of how uh unique some of these uh
- 9:39Speaker 3: tiers are. For this Kickstarter, it definitely shows a range
- 9:45Speaker 3: of interest. And then after this they will then go
- 9:51Speaker 3: and say, Okay, now let's release it to the public
- 9:56Speaker 3: and now see what kind of range we can get.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's what the Aragon one is kind of doing.
- 10:05Speaker 2: They basically made the latest Kickstarter, which is like more
- 10:09Speaker 2: stories in the Air Gone Universe about like key different.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Battles and everything.
- 10:13Speaker 2: They made the kickstarter because of the tariffs they were
- 10:17Speaker 2: on this Sephira statue, and so they were using this
- 10:23Speaker 2: Kickstarter to help fund that one basically, and then they
- 10:29Speaker 2: got to a million dollars on the new on the
- 10:36Speaker 2: book Kickstarter. So now basically Christopher Paulini has basically written
- 10:43Speaker 2: so much extra material for all the different rewards for
- 10:47Speaker 2: hitting a million dollars that he's going to then output
- 10:51Speaker 2: this book into Tales from Allegation Volume two. So but
- 10:58Speaker 2: he said that would be like two years after we
- 11:01Speaker 2: got the actual Kickstarter details, so and there's going to
- 11:08Speaker 2: be a little bit more in that one. But yeah,
- 11:11Speaker 2: it makes sense. But also like I do understand it
- 11:14Speaker 2: to an extent.
- 11:15Speaker 4: So.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely, So that was the you know, actual for
- 11:30Speaker 3: that wasn't the actual first topic. I just wanted to
- 11:33Speaker 3: throw that out there because I did see that earlier. Today,
- 11:37Speaker 3: the actual topic just kind of came out of nowhere
- 11:42Speaker 3: today actually, yeah, first Star Wars Starfighter behind the scenes
- 11:49Speaker 3: photo Tea's now people say it's behind the scenes. Some
- 11:54Speaker 3: people are saying that it's a still from the movie,
- 11:58Speaker 3: is what some people have been posting this. As I
- 12:03Speaker 3: think of that, it looks more like a behind the
- 12:06Speaker 3: scenes photo. It doesn't look clean enough to be a
- 12:12Speaker 3: still like as actual footage of the movie. So I'm
- 12:17Speaker 3: gonna call this a behind the scenes look. Our first
- 12:21Speaker 3: behind the scenes look, now, Katie, I have to ask,
- 12:27Speaker 3: because I saw this in the geek Verse discord. I
- 12:31Speaker 3: saw this also just scrolling through socials seeing this setting,
- 12:41Speaker 3: seeing Gosling here, people are saying, looking at Gosling, Gosling's face,
- 12:48Speaker 3: I just don't see this as Star Wars. Do you
- 12:52Speaker 3: get that feeling from this photo? It's a very like
- 13:01Speaker 3: I understand some people could say, like, oh, I don't
- 13:03Speaker 3: think Goslin can be in a Star Wars film. Guys,
- 13:08Speaker 3: they're actors. They can literally evolve into anybody. Yeah, for
- 13:11Speaker 3: these movies, but guys, honestly, this could literally be any movie.
- 13:19Speaker 3: It's like, that's the thing that it's a behind the
- 13:23Speaker 3: scenes look. There is no clear prop pieces or anything
- 13:34Speaker 3: that screams Star Wars, So that's why you guys have
- 13:39Speaker 3: that feeling.
- 13:40Speaker 5: Yeah, Basically, like the the handlebars that is leaning on
- 13:49Speaker 5: and then some of the gear like the pants definitely
- 13:52Speaker 5: evoke Star Wars.
- 13:53Speaker 2: To me, Gosling is just known for like swooning people.
- 13:59Speaker 2: So to me, like, if he's taken a picture of
- 14:04Speaker 2: this is the face you're gonna get. Basically, you were
- 14:10Speaker 2: on mute when you said that.
- 14:12Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, behind the scenes, guys, I am actually trying
- 14:16Speaker 6: to get our uh we are live right now tweet
- 14:20Speaker 6: out and I noticed a small little mess up on
- 14:23Speaker 6: the video, so I'm clearing that up right now.
- 14:28Speaker 2: So they both look like scruffy looking nerve hurders. So
- 14:33Speaker 2: to me, I don't think this is a huge deal.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I do like that Sean Levy has posted a behind
- 14:41Speaker 2: the scenes picture, like I think as kind of millennials
- 14:47Speaker 2: take over most of the directing, it will start to
- 14:52Speaker 2: see more behind the scenes because they realize how important
- 14:55Speaker 2: social media is, and hopefully Lucas almost start to Understan
- 15:00Speaker 2: and behind the scenes twitters are not a bad idea. Now,
- 15:05Speaker 2: are there some people out here who take it a
- 15:07Speaker 2: little too literally and goes that doesn't look like Star
- 15:09Speaker 2: Wars sure, but I mean, like he looks like Han
- 15:13Speaker 2: Solo basically in this picture, in some of the images
- 15:17Speaker 2: that Harrison Ford took, like he looks like he doesn't
- 15:22Speaker 2: belong in Star Wars.
- 15:24Speaker 3: So yeah, like, there's this is the very first time
- 15:28Speaker 3: we are seeing him in a Star Wars property. It's
- 15:32Speaker 3: going to be like that. And of course this may
- 15:35Speaker 3: also stem from the idea that Travis had this idea
- 15:40Speaker 3: of like, oh, he is too famous for Star Wars
- 15:44Speaker 3: right now. That might be the case, because I can
- 15:46Speaker 3: also tell you back then, people probably thought the same
- 15:51Speaker 3: thing for Harrison Ford people, I know, I know people
- 15:57Speaker 3: thought the same thing for Michael Keaton as Batman.
- 16:00Speaker 2: What maybe not Harrison Ford per se, because Harrison Ford
- 16:03Speaker 2: got his start with Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
- 16:07Speaker 3: So that's true, that's true.
- 16:09Speaker 2: But like, yeah, ALC Ginnis, there's your example right there.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Probably Alcginnis is like the original Trilogy era sort of things.
- 16:25Speaker 2: So yeah, I think this picture is super cool. I
- 16:28Speaker 2: like that we're getting ocean. I do hope we're reusing
- 16:32Speaker 2: a planet. And Clay and I kind of talked about
- 16:34Speaker 2: this in our Star Wars Alliance chat. We're like, Okay,
- 16:39Speaker 2: there's seven hundred and eighty five planets, and bad Batch
- 16:42Speaker 2: created twenty five of them. Can we please reuse planets?
- 16:49Speaker 2: And not that you can't have more planets in the
- 16:53Speaker 2: greater galaxy, But it's also nice to see that we're
- 16:59Speaker 2: not trying to create our own areas of the universe,
- 17:04Speaker 2: like reusing things is. Reusing planets and creatures is fine,
- 17:09Speaker 2: and it's not a huge It should not be a
- 17:11Speaker 2: huge deal to go, Okay, we're gonna say this is
- 17:15Speaker 2: Moncala or Narkina five? What was the planet from Resistance?
- 17:24Speaker 3: I just had? I was I was literally just about
- 17:26Speaker 3: to bring that up. There's a lot of people also,
- 17:29Speaker 3: uh speaking about that planet as well. We know from
- 17:34Speaker 3: Resistance that that planet was basically abandoned, and guys, it's
- 17:38Speaker 3: an entire planet. It's not just one little, you know thing.
- 17:42Speaker 3: That planet was abandoned from that base. So I think
- 17:47Speaker 3: it would be fun to go back and see if
- 17:50Speaker 3: there was any scavengers or any type of other beings
- 17:54Speaker 3: left on that planet to you know, you know, revisit.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Maybe it's some Resistance easter eggs will be in there
- 18:01Speaker 3: and things like that. I like to piggyback what you
- 18:07Speaker 3: were saying and go into that. Like, I think that
- 18:11Speaker 3: it is fine and dandy for anybody to create new things,
- 18:17Speaker 3: and because that's essentially what I have learned from being
- 18:25Speaker 3: somebody who enjoys comic books very much. And I think
- 18:28Speaker 3: this is just an overall thing for very large ips.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Is you create something new for a big company, it
- 18:39Speaker 3: draws revenue because of what you can do with it
- 18:45Speaker 3: via putting it into the toy industry and all of
- 18:49Speaker 3: these other things, right, specifically more towards like characters and stuff.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Creating something new also is something very special for writers, director's, colorists,
- 19:03Speaker 3: artists because you get to put a staple on a
- 19:06Speaker 3: very large IP that not everybody's going to have the
- 19:08Speaker 3: chance to do. Like you get to say, I created
- 19:12Speaker 3: this planet for Star Wars, and that's awesome. But as
- 19:17Speaker 3: I mentioned in our Star Wars Alliance chat with Travis
- 19:21Speaker 3: that we have looked several times on the Star Wars
- 19:27Speaker 3: galaxy map, there are what feels like billions of planets yep.
- 19:36Speaker 3: And we have only seen some of these via the
- 19:42Speaker 3: actual map, or we have only heard of these from
- 19:47Speaker 3: word of mouth from random characters throughout the Star Wars franchise.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Yeah, and I just.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Think like, why would you do that? Just randomly say
- 19:58Speaker 3: something and just be like, oh, you know, some random
- 20:01Speaker 3: person will probably be wondering because one of their favorite
- 20:04Speaker 3: characters said that they're from that planet and we never
- 20:06Speaker 3: get to visit that planet. Yeah, I think that's.
- 20:10Speaker 2: At That's like the biggest thing to me as well,
- 20:14Speaker 2: is like, there's so much potential with all of these
- 20:16Speaker 2: planets that have been created. Moncala is basically unexplored since
- 20:22Speaker 2: the Clone Wars, Like, wouldn't it be so cool to
- 20:25Speaker 2: dive into that and figure out how Moncala was affected
- 20:29Speaker 2: with Atbar's death, Like it would diving into that would
- 20:34Speaker 2: be awesome, I feel like, especially knowing how known he
- 20:40Speaker 2: was and how known Moncala was in general for starfighters
- 20:45Speaker 2: and freighters and stuff. So I feel like that could
- 20:49Speaker 2: be a really good move to incorporate Mancala the resistance
- 20:52Speaker 2: planet something that we've already seen, to build on that legacy,
- 20:58Speaker 2: because yes, everybody likes their own part of the galaxy
- 21:01Speaker 2: to play in, and everything can happen on other planets,
- 21:05Speaker 2: but we're also building a big story, right and you
- 21:09Speaker 2: do still want to see things connected and in a.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Sense, So.
- 21:17Speaker 2: The next bit of news that we have guys. So
- 21:20Speaker 2: the Primetime Emmys. So we talked about the Creative Arts Emmys,
- 21:24Speaker 2: UH last week. So the uh so the Primetime Emmys
- 21:33Speaker 2: seventy seven and or one Outstanding Writing for the episode
- 21:40Speaker 2: Welcome to the Rebellion. So it was one by Dan
- 21:46Speaker 2: Gilroy and he shouted out, uh, Jenevieve O'Reilly for performing
- 21:54Speaker 2: the absolute monster of a Senate speech that kind of
- 21:58Speaker 2: hits on everything. So star Wars news Net has the
- 22:06Speaker 2: video of his acceptance speech in the article if you
- 22:08Speaker 2: would like to go view that. But I love how
- 22:11Speaker 2: he shouted out Genevieve O'Reilly because a writing does make
- 22:16Speaker 2: or break things, but truly the actor makes a performance,
- 22:20Speaker 2: and I don't think that has the hit that. I
- 22:23Speaker 2: don't think Welcome to the Rebellion has that hit if
- 22:26Speaker 2: Geneviev O'Reilly doesn't give that speech the way that she did.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Oh, I mean, IM not going to talk about the
- 22:35Speaker 3: current political climate, but you know, it's just it's very
- 22:41Speaker 3: relatable these days, so it's hitting a lot harder and
- 22:47Speaker 3: I think a lot of people see that and the
- 22:52Speaker 3: weight of that performance means a lot because just like
- 23:00Speaker 3: we've talked about with that of uh, Bokatan, Katie Sakoff Sacoff. Yes,
- 23:12Speaker 3: these actors have been with these characters for so long.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Genevieve has literally been the voice of mon Mathma before.
- 23:21Speaker 3: She knew that this already happened in history several times
- 23:27Speaker 3: while she is playing the character, because she's played it
- 23:30Speaker 3: in several different timelines, well in the same timeline, just
- 23:33Speaker 3: in separate parts. So she knew the weight of this speech.
- 23:38Speaker 3: She knew that she had to give her all in
- 23:41Speaker 3: this performance, and that's exactly what she did.
- 23:52Speaker 4: So that was that topic.
- 23:53Speaker 2: The other thing that I had forgotten about is we
- 23:57Speaker 2: have some Ahsoka rumors this week.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Ah, yes, we have a.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Potential casting and I lost where this one was.
- 24:08Speaker 3: This I don't think I probably shouldn't have shared it
- 24:13Speaker 3: because I literally don't believe it actually has any type
- 24:17Speaker 3: of real source, Like because when going back to it,
- 24:23Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure when I looked on the thread, somebody
- 24:27Speaker 3: was like, Oh, what's your source, And the same person
- 24:30Speaker 3: who posted it just randomly said, oh, thank you so
- 24:33Speaker 3: much to the insider who gave me permission to post
- 24:35Speaker 3: this scoop. Like it's literally the same, Like you could
- 24:39Speaker 3: literally just say that on every single random bullshit scoop
- 24:43Speaker 3: that you want to throw out there to cause like
- 24:45Speaker 3: whatever chaos in the world.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Like, but that's they're basically calling this an exclusive, is
- 24:51Speaker 2: what they are.
- 24:52Speaker 4: This is what scooping is.
- 24:55Speaker 2: And I do consider because it was Holochron that posted it.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Right, No, it was this thing called manover Mando Verse updates. Okay, yeah,
- 25:06Speaker 3: so it was. Nobody has picked it up since though,
- 25:10Speaker 3: and that's the thing that kind of makes me hesitant
- 25:12Speaker 3: for it. But I do like the rumor.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I like the rumor as well. It's so the
- 25:28Speaker 2: rumor is is that there is? Because I can't find
- 25:34Speaker 2: it still, it says here.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Actor Chart Charlotte Charlotte Charlotte Charlotto s h A R
- 25:44Speaker 3: L t O Uh Charlotto Kopley, who is best known
- 25:50Speaker 3: for his performances in Uh, District nine and Maleficent. He
- 25:58Speaker 3: also played in the eighteen reboots and things like that,
- 26:07Speaker 3: is rumored to be playing the father in Ahsoka season two.
- 26:13Speaker 3: This individual District nine, one of my favorite sci fi
- 26:22Speaker 3: weird movies of the twenty tens, happened just around the
- 26:28Speaker 3: same time as Avatar, and then Avatar came out and
- 26:31Speaker 3: nobody's like everybody basically stopped talking about District nine, which
- 26:35Speaker 3: really made me disappointed.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I hadn't even heard of District nine, but that shouldn't
- 26:41Speaker 2: be surprising. I so.
- 26:44Speaker 3: There is another movie that is has basically the same
- 26:53Speaker 3: vibe as District nine about I think it's like about
- 26:58Speaker 3: a robot or something that was a part of this
- 27:01Speaker 3: big corporation, and then he like goes into the like
- 27:04Speaker 3: the other districts and learns like, I'll have to. I
- 27:07Speaker 3: think it's like something boy or something like that. I'll
- 27:10Speaker 3: have to. I'll have to look for it and I'll
- 27:11Speaker 3: show you. But those two movies I highly recommend for you, Katie.
- 27:16Speaker 3: But this casting is very interesting because again you look
- 27:23Speaker 3: at those faces and voices and all of like the talent,
- 27:28Speaker 3: and you're like, I don't know if I can see
- 27:31Speaker 3: them in a Star Wars film. I don't know if
- 27:34Speaker 3: I would ever imagine this person even getting close to
- 27:37Speaker 3: a Star Wars film. And I just said he's.
- 27:41Speaker 2: I also feel like the Mortis group is probably the
- 27:46Speaker 2: most out there you could give four Star Wars Like
- 27:50Speaker 2: they're very fantasy vibes.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Yes, and that's what I was gonna bring up. It's
- 27:55Speaker 3: they are outside of the Star Wars bubble, Yeah, in
- 28:02Speaker 3: that realm, like the same thing for like the Bindu,
- 28:06Speaker 3: like literally my one of my top five characters of
- 28:09Speaker 3: Star Wars. The Bindu is such a fantastical character you
- 28:15Speaker 3: can almost give him any voice you can give him,
- 28:18Speaker 3: you know, the I can't even remember who the voice
- 28:21Speaker 3: was for the Bindu. But like I like again, it's
- 28:25Speaker 3: just these types of characters in the Star Wars universe
- 28:29Speaker 3: that kind of break every rule of Star Wars and
- 28:33Speaker 3: because of that, I really enjoy this casting. I think
- 28:37Speaker 3: this will be very very interesting. We have seen the
- 28:43Speaker 3: Father in one story arc of Star Wars Clone Wars,
- 28:53Speaker 3: and that's all we've got from We have not gotten
- 28:56Speaker 3: anything else. Now. I don't know if the Mortise Gods
- 28:59Speaker 3: have ever played a part in any type of novel
- 29:04Speaker 3: that I have not read yet, but currently the Mortise
- 29:09Speaker 3: Gods have all okay, so surprising anyway, the Mortise Gods
- 29:20Speaker 3: are still a very untouched category in Star Wars, and
- 29:28Speaker 3: I think this will literally they have to they have
- 29:31Speaker 3: to literally lay the groundwork all over again, because there's
- 29:37Speaker 3: gonna be people who watch Ahsoka that have never watched
- 29:40Speaker 3: Clone Wars, and I think that's gonna be the biggest
- 29:46Speaker 3: challenge for them to not overdo it for fans of
- 29:52Speaker 3: Star Wars who have watched the Clone Wars, but to
- 30:00Speaker 3: get this talent in here. Like, I'm surprised that they've
- 30:04Speaker 3: only attached a name to one individual of the family
- 30:09Speaker 3: when we still have two more, if not a third,
- 30:14Speaker 3: because there is the other room that we talked very
- 30:17Speaker 3: early on in the stages of like the concept of
- 30:20Speaker 3: season two. They is a like, I don't know if
- 30:24Speaker 3: you remember this, but there was very very deep rumors
- 30:30Speaker 3: that the mother was going to be introduced.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I do remember that, Abalo, Yeah, yeah, Sorry.
- 30:41Speaker 2: I was looking at the Star Wars News of that
- 30:43Speaker 2: article first, trying to glean if there was anything else
- 30:46Speaker 2: and this is wildly off topic, but apparently, according to
- 30:51Speaker 2: Star Wars Leaks Beyond Reporter, is the link that they
- 30:56Speaker 2: said the Mandalorian and Groku trailers coming to as part
- 31:01Speaker 2: of the Daniel RpK trailer drop.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Okay, because I literally just posted in the GUA chat.
- 31:08Speaker 3: I was like, oh, look, you know in other news,
- 31:11Speaker 3: and Danny RpK said, oh, there's gonna be big trailer news.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Now again, we have already seen a leaked version of
- 31:18Speaker 3: this trailer. It'll be interesting to see if anybody points
- 31:22Speaker 3: out like, oh, that wasn't in the trailer at Star
- 31:24Speaker 3: Wars celebration, you know things like that, So very very interesting.
- 31:30Speaker 2: It'll be Yeah, I'm excited. Obviously, we don't have the
- 31:34Speaker 2: trailer so we can't talk about it, but tune in
- 31:38Speaker 2: next week to see what Katie and Clay have to
- 31:40Speaker 2: say about hopefully I released Mandalorian and Kregory trailer.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Okay, so main topic, yes, main topic. It is, of
- 32:03Speaker 3: course Omnibus. You have the Omnibus. I will be pulling
- 32:07Speaker 3: out my Marvel Unlimited guys. We are gonna be talking
- 32:14Speaker 3: Star Wars Darth Vader number thirteen through twenty five. This
- 32:20Speaker 3: is the ending of Charles Soul's run on Darth Vader.
- 32:24Speaker 3: There is three story arcs with one story that plays
- 32:29Speaker 3: more like an annual in a comic series. It kind
- 32:34Speaker 3: of just it. It plays better when you read the
- 32:40Speaker 3: comic was as it was coming out. And the reason
- 32:43Speaker 3: why it's issue eighteen. Again, when we talk about these comics,
- 32:49Speaker 3: especially in a very large range of thirteen to twenty five,
- 32:53Speaker 3: we're going to be hitting the highlights. But I'll go
- 32:57Speaker 3: ahead and say it Issue eighteen is the Manhunt of
- 33:01Speaker 3: Darth Vader, and when you read it, you're like, what
- 33:05Speaker 3: the hell is going on because it literally does not
- 33:07Speaker 3: explain anything to you until the last three pages of
- 33:11Speaker 3: the comic. D Yeah, it is Tarkan. He hired a
- 33:18Speaker 3: team of assassins to kill Darth Vader, and it's so
- 33:27Speaker 3: crazy fun and shows you how excuse my language, batshit
- 33:34Speaker 3: crazy Darth Vader is. I think this could be like
- 33:39Speaker 3: the very first highlight of this conversation actually, because it
- 33:43Speaker 3: kind of doesn't have anything to do with the rest
- 33:46Speaker 3: of the series. Yeah, so like the concept of this,
- 33:51Speaker 3: Like I said, it literally does not explain it until
- 33:53Speaker 3: the very end of the of the issue. In the
- 33:58Speaker 3: first arc of the Team to twenty five is the
- 34:02Speaker 3: attack on Mancola. During that attack, Tarkan does call Vader
- 34:11Speaker 3: and it was like, Hey, I need to call in
- 34:13Speaker 3: a favor and I need you to do this for me,
- 34:16Speaker 3: And Vader's like, you're demanding me to do something. He's like, no, no, no, no,
- 34:21Speaker 3: this is in order. I cannot give you orders. You're
- 34:26Speaker 3: a sith lord. You're way above my pay grade. This
- 34:30Speaker 3: is a request and if you do this, I will
- 34:33Speaker 3: forever be in your debt and I will you I
- 34:35Speaker 3: will owe you one. This is the I owe you
- 34:39Speaker 3: one issue, And Vader himself told Tarkan, Hey, I want
- 34:46Speaker 3: you to get a team, and I want you to
- 34:48Speaker 3: try and kill me. And it even says at the
- 34:53Speaker 3: very end Tarkan's like, I don't know what he was doing.
- 34:56Speaker 3: I don't know why he asked me to do this.
- 34:58Speaker 3: I can make some assumption, but I don't know. I
- 35:03Speaker 3: just hope that he somehow, you know, got what he
- 35:07Speaker 3: was looking for.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's super interesting and I had to go
- 35:14Speaker 2: look it up. But the hunt takes place on Chander's Folly,
- 35:18Speaker 2: which Charles Soul weaves into his Star Wars run in
- 35:23Speaker 2: twenty twenty talking about one of Tarkan's former lovers. So
- 35:32Speaker 2: this one was super interesting. I love the artwork. I
- 35:36Speaker 2: love how Tarkan is drawn in particular, it just makes
- 35:42Speaker 2: him feel his age. Say yes, because the dude is
- 35:51Speaker 2: I don't even know how old he is. But like
- 35:56Speaker 2: everything you read about him, and we've read the Hearkin book,
- 36:01Speaker 2: so y'all have like heard us talk about that. But
- 36:04Speaker 2: his his effort and everything, it always makes him feel
- 36:09Speaker 2: kind of immortal in the way. How smart he is
- 36:14Speaker 2: and everything, so to see him hunt and Okay, so
- 36:19Speaker 2: Wikipedia has his age listed as he was born in
- 36:25Speaker 2: sixty four, Bby, So he was sixty four when he died,
- 36:30Speaker 2: so you think he's probably about well, okay, so this
- 36:34Speaker 2: takes place right after Revenge of the Sith. So this
- 36:36Speaker 2: takes place in nineteen BB. Why so the dude is
- 36:40Speaker 2: forty at this point forty five.
- 36:42Speaker 3: I would I would say nineteen or eighteen Bby, Like,
- 36:47Speaker 3: I think that by this time, because the beginning of
- 36:52Speaker 3: the series is right after Revenge of the Sith. This
- 36:57Speaker 3: is like publication wise, this is thirteen. I mean, this
- 37:02Speaker 3: is eighteen, so we're a year and a half into
- 37:05Speaker 3: this publication of this comic. So you can almost say like, oh,
- 37:11Speaker 3: maybe one year has passed at least through all of
- 37:14Speaker 3: the chaos that's been going on. But I so you
- 37:17Speaker 3: could say either forty one or forty two, somewhere in
- 37:21Speaker 3: between there, because I.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Think I think where I think where Master of Evil
- 37:29Speaker 2: comes into play is right before the Eve Cough arc Ah,
- 37:36Speaker 2: so that would be issue nineteen.
- 37:40Speaker 3: I want to say yeah, because actually, yeah.
- 37:44Speaker 2: You you get to it and they talk, it's not
- 37:50Speaker 2: at the beginning of the issue, but they talk about
- 37:54Speaker 2: when Palpatine sends Vader off and is like, look, we've
- 37:59Speaker 2: killed most of the Jedi.
- 38:00Speaker 4: When one rear's.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Head, I will call you basically like, so, I feel
- 38:06Speaker 2: like in that break is where master.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Of Evil is going to take place.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Ye, I think that makes the most sense, especially with
- 38:14Speaker 2: the way he reacts to moment.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 38:18Speaker 2: I definitely am thinking that's where.
- 38:21Speaker 4: It's gonna be.
- 38:22Speaker 3: That'll be interesting. I wonder if we get a moment
- 38:26Speaker 3: like like, I don't know, Elude, because again there's there's
- 38:33Speaker 3: that moment that we see with Emperor Palpatine with the
- 38:38Speaker 3: mask and everything, but we'll get to that. We'll get
- 38:40Speaker 3: to that. But in this man hunt Darth Vader, uh
- 38:47Speaker 3: he loses his lightsaber is like a really big thing.
- 38:51Speaker 3: And this is again like you hate to love the
- 38:56Speaker 3: bad guys. Sometimes my first like love hate relationship, as
- 39:02Speaker 3: this podcast knows is of course, uh oh my god, Thron. Yes, sorry,
- 39:11Speaker 3: I don't know why his name escaped me, Thron. But
- 39:14Speaker 3: then you also look at freaking Tarkan. Tarkan is somebody.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Who is.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Uh just gross manipulative, you know, individual within the military,
- 39:32Speaker 3: but then you see his mind and you're like, God
- 39:35Speaker 3: damn it, he's actually good at his job, Like I
- 39:37Speaker 3: hate this, and so he's like, Okay, I know what
- 39:44Speaker 3: Darth Vader wants, but am I really supposed to give
- 39:49Speaker 3: it to him? Because Darth Vader said kill me if
- 39:52Speaker 3: you can. So he's of course hiring any and all
- 39:56Speaker 3: people they can. And he during these attacks, he's you
- 40:02Speaker 3: hear his like inner monologues. It's like, okay, Like I
- 40:06Speaker 3: know that he is deadly with or without his lightsaber
- 40:09Speaker 3: because of the power of the Force. I don't know
- 40:11Speaker 3: this dark magic blah blah blah blah blah. So I
- 40:14Speaker 3: need to see how far I need to be in
- 40:17Speaker 3: order for him to even make contact with the force,
- 40:20Speaker 3: which is.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Wild, but we know this is Turkan's personality. Yeah, very calculating.
- 40:25Speaker 2: He's going to do the math. The guy basically sacrifices
- 40:30Speaker 2: his entire team members of his team at a time. Yeah,
- 40:34Speaker 2: I've learned more about Darth Vader and how to beat him.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Which is so freaking crazy, because like, I don't know
- 40:48Speaker 3: if this becomes like I have to because surprisingly I
- 40:53Speaker 3: have to go back in because I don't remember the
- 40:56Speaker 3: endings of the other two Star Wars runs. Ah, well, no,
- 41:00Speaker 3: I wonder if this comes up again. Of course it
- 41:05Speaker 3: can only come up so many times because eventually Tarkan dies. Yeah,
- 41:10Speaker 3: but this, I'm I'm very curious to see if like
- 41:18Speaker 3: this became any somewhat of a game to Tarkan an invader,
- 41:23Speaker 3: you know.
- 41:24Speaker 4: I don't.
- 41:24Speaker 2: So, okay, so Chander's folly. So the mentions that it
- 41:30Speaker 2: has is higher public light of the Jedi. Darth Vader
- 41:35Speaker 2: twenty seventeen, issue eighteen, Jedi Battle Scars. Okay, the Haunting
- 41:43Speaker 2: of Grand Moth Tarkan tails from the Death Star in
- 41:47Speaker 2: Star Wars' twenty twenty number eight, which is the one
- 41:51Speaker 2: I was talking about when Darth Vader's talking to like
- 41:54Speaker 2: one of Tarkan's former lovers, because in the Star Wars
- 41:57Speaker 2: comics Tarkan this would be the only chance that Tarkin
- 42:00Speaker 2: has to make her appearance because Star Wars twenty seventeen
- 42:04Speaker 2: was between a New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. Twenty
- 42:07Speaker 2: twenty was between ESB and Return of the Jedi. So
- 42:13Speaker 2: there's no change, okay for like a live Tarkan to
- 42:17Speaker 2: be in the Star Wars comics.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, okay, but this is just so much fun
- 42:25Speaker 3: because again, like I said, they get rid of his lightsaber,
- 42:30Speaker 3: and so it becomes like he uh, and I say he.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Tarkan makes this observation of like, I have never seen
- 42:41Speaker 3: Darth Vader give any type of emotional response. There was
- 42:45Speaker 3: definitely an emotional response to losing his lightsaber. This was
- 42:49Speaker 3: a mistake, Oh God, Because he makes the observation is like,
- 42:54Speaker 3: we were hunting Vader up until the point of us
- 42:56Speaker 3: taking his lightsaber. Then he was hunting us. Oh no, uh,
- 43:02Speaker 3: and so I love that. Coincidentally, there was the species
- 43:10Speaker 3: of uh yes, the chadrafan. There was two of them.
- 43:15Speaker 3: There was a grandfather and a grandson that Tarkan used
- 43:26Speaker 3: their of course bat like ears to listen for Darth
- 43:31Speaker 3: Vader because of his breathing apparatus. This is where it
- 43:36Speaker 3: gets batshit crazy in the sense of when I said, oh,
- 43:39Speaker 3: Darth Vader himself is batshit crazy, and it's so it's
- 43:45Speaker 3: it's so fun and so cool because you know, Anakin
- 43:52Speaker 3: in his like Clone Wars days would have done something
- 43:55Speaker 3: like this, and it's just like there's so much of
- 43:57Speaker 3: Anakin inside Darth Vader that like you almost like you
- 44:04Speaker 3: can't separate the two. Sometimes and I know a lot
- 44:07Speaker 3: of people say, like they are literally two different people.
- 44:10Speaker 3: That's the whole point of the Star Wars stories, that
- 44:12Speaker 3: they're two separate people. But these writers, Charles soul included,
- 44:17Speaker 3: has reminded us there is no separation. He is literally
- 44:22Speaker 3: using Anakin's memories and life to make the choices that
- 44:28Speaker 3: he does moving forward as a Sith Lord. This decision
- 44:33Speaker 3: here was absolutely crazy. The book opens up with him
- 44:36Speaker 3: having like this weird like trench coat thingy. Yeah, it's
- 44:42Speaker 3: the wings of a creature that can basically go camouflage
- 44:48Speaker 3: on the planet. And they're like, that's terrifying. Why would
- 44:51Speaker 3: he do that? And Targan's like, because he knows that
- 44:55Speaker 3: we can see him, and he wants to show off.
- 44:58Speaker 3: He wants us to know that he has as this, uh,
- 45:01Speaker 3: because not even myself would have tried to attack those things.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Oh god. And so when Tarkan asks, I think it
- 45:11Speaker 3: was the grandfather of the species, like, hey, can you
- 45:15Speaker 3: hear Darth Vader And they're like, yeah, I hear him.
- 45:21Speaker 3: He's close, He's everywhere, and like you just hear this.
- 45:26Speaker 3: You see the little automuntopias of his breathing apparatus literally
- 45:31Speaker 3: all over them, and Tarkan's all like, oh no, this
- 45:35Speaker 3: is a killbox. Run everybody, get the hell out of here.
- 45:41Speaker 3: They run. I think two people die in the process.
- 45:46Speaker 3: And then they're like, okay, well, we can't move any
- 45:48Speaker 3: forward because we know that going into these bad lands
- 45:52Speaker 3: it's actually the storm lands, Like this is like deadly
- 45:55Speaker 3: to people. We can't move forward.
- 45:57Speaker 4: Yep.
- 45:58Speaker 3: And I love the visual that this takes of. Like
- 46:04Speaker 3: Tarkan talks to him, He's like, can you hear him?
- 46:06Speaker 3: And he's like no, and he calls him the dark Man.
- 46:09Speaker 3: The dark Man is not here. He's like okay. Tarkan
- 46:12Speaker 3: literally turns around and starts to walk off before he
- 46:15Speaker 3: can Dark Demon. Before he can even leave the panel,
- 46:21Speaker 3: you just see Darth Vader gripping this dude with the
- 46:24Speaker 3: force and killing him and you're like, oh god, he
- 46:29Speaker 3: is like he's literally the Predator from the movie Predator.
- 46:32Speaker 3: That's who he has become.
- 46:35Speaker 2: It's so scary and like the way the coloring is
- 46:40Speaker 2: done superb.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Like yes, I love the artistic choices here. When everybody notices,
- 46:49Speaker 3: oh crap, Darth Vader is here, it dawns on Tarkan.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Wait a minute, they couldn't hear him. That means that
- 46:59Speaker 3: Darth Vader literally turned off his breathing apparatus during this
- 47:05Speaker 3: time of him literally slaughtering us. At this exact moment,
- 47:09Speaker 3: he is also dying, but he has chosen to do
- 47:12Speaker 3: this so that way nobody could see him coming. Then
- 47:16Speaker 3: of course he gets his lightsaber back and shit really
- 47:19Speaker 3: starts to hit the fan. I love this this is
- 47:24Speaker 3: it shows the lengths and the strides Darth Vader will
- 47:30Speaker 3: go to in order to hunt his prey. Eventually, what
- 47:36Speaker 3: ends up happening is this was all part of Target's
- 47:41Speaker 3: plan is to get into this exact position because of
- 47:45Speaker 3: the storm lands. Because and I literally think this is
- 47:48Speaker 3: like verbatim, what the what the panels say or the
- 47:52Speaker 3: inner dialogue says, is the taller you are? Is it
- 47:58Speaker 3: the yeah, you quicker you die? And it just shows
- 48:03Speaker 3: a lightning bolt hitting Darth Vader and he's like he's
- 48:08Speaker 3: basically he's like, gotcha, bitch. I love, but.
- 48:12Speaker 4: That's not intelligible.
- 48:13Speaker 3: You have to turn down the brightness. I really like
- 48:19Speaker 3: that panel. I love the colors. It shows like how
- 48:23Speaker 3: crazy it genuinely would be for a person that is
- 48:27Speaker 3: basically a cyborg to get struck by lightning.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Insanity is what it is. And to think of the
- 48:37Speaker 2: Soul thought about all of this is wild. Oh it's
- 48:41Speaker 2: just wild to me. Ah, it's insane. And that's all
- 48:47Speaker 2: I can say. Like the art is superb. We didn't
- 48:51Speaker 2: talk about who did the art in this.
- 48:54Speaker 4: Yes, Soul is the writer.
- 48:58Speaker 3: So I will actually bring up the credits page. The
- 49:05Speaker 3: art here uh is uh Giuseppe uh common Coli and
- 49:16Speaker 3: Danielle or La Donni Orlandini Orlandini and of course the
- 49:24Speaker 3: colorist being uh David Carrell. Yep, this is I love this.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Uh it's actually such a good book. Uh I I
- 49:38Speaker 3: do like how in the end we do finally get
- 49:41Speaker 3: the explanation, uh, the way that Targan's like, you know,
- 49:48Speaker 3: this is a this is a killer without any like mission,
- 49:55Speaker 3: Like he's done, Like all of the Jedi are either
- 50:00Speaker 3: gone as in dead or there's very little left, so
- 50:05Speaker 3: he has nothing to do. He is a bored puppy
- 50:09Speaker 3: that needs to play with his food.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Oh you know what, I bet I would stake my
- 50:15Speaker 2: money on this.
- 50:16Speaker 4: I would take money on this.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Master of Evil takes place before this, before this issue
- 50:23Speaker 2: and after Moncola. You think so because so Tarkan says,
- 50:28Speaker 2: I owed Vader debt for a task he undertook for
- 50:31Speaker 2: me some time ago, as on a world as wet
- 50:34Speaker 2: as this one is dry and dead. I bet because
- 50:38Speaker 2: we know that Master of Evil, he's hunting for that
- 50:42Speaker 2: eternal life mechanism. Yeah, basically, I'm betting that he goes, okay,
- 50:48Speaker 2: there's no Jedi for me to hunt, so I need
- 50:53Speaker 2: or like he gets some sort of defeat in that
- 50:55Speaker 2: book and he basically goes, okay, I need to proof myself,
- 51:01Speaker 2: and so he has target hunting.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Maybe I don't know, he's just that.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Upset with not finding the secret to eternal life. I
- 51:18Speaker 2: don't know.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Maybe maybe we will put a pin in that. I
- 51:24Speaker 3: want to come back to it. By the way, guys,
- 51:27Speaker 3: just so full transparency. We've been making a lot of
- 51:31Speaker 3: references to Masters of Evil. I have not had the
- 51:34Speaker 3: chance to open it.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Got it today?
- 51:37Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 51:37Speaker 2: I am immortal?
- 51:39Speaker 3: I know I know who you are, and I know
- 51:41Speaker 3: that you could finish a book in less than fourteen hours,
- 51:44Speaker 3: so I know it's a possibility. So today, I mean,
- 51:54Speaker 3: if I had nothing else to do, I probably would
- 51:55Speaker 3: have opened it a little bit. You know I had
- 51:58Speaker 3: to work, but this this story is such.
- 52:05Speaker 2: We got it at two o'clock today. Clay thinks I'm crazy,
- 52:08Speaker 2: apparently if he thinks I opened it.
- 52:12Speaker 3: There was there was one book. I can't remember which
- 52:15Speaker 3: book it was. We got it, and then the next
- 52:18Speaker 3: day you were like finished, and I was like, what.
- 52:20Speaker 2: The pregnancy insomnia?
- 52:23Speaker 3: That was also a thing? That was that was also
- 52:25Speaker 3: a thing.
- 52:28Speaker 4: There staring at the ceiling counting sheep.
- 52:34Speaker 3: You know what Abby did is she woke me up
- 52:36Speaker 3: and just started talking to me and then like just
- 52:38Speaker 3: kept on shoving me every single time she heard me
- 52:40Speaker 3: storing as if I fell asleep again.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Uh, if there's a next time, that's what I do.
- 52:55Speaker 3: It's like, if I'm gonna be awake, so are you.
- 53:00Speaker 3: But yes, Moncala is a very fun story because it
- 53:10Speaker 3: brings about a idea and concept that I think a
- 53:15Speaker 3: lot of fans have thought about when it comes to
- 53:19Speaker 3: what happens to the Jedi after they were all gone?
- 53:23Speaker 3: What happens to the survivors? Do they practice what they
- 53:28Speaker 3: preached and everything else? And this was a very fun,
- 53:34Speaker 3: almost kind of very scary situation. Mancala. The way it
- 53:40Speaker 3: starts is the Empire sends over an individual to you know,
- 53:47Speaker 3: do its normal due diligence in you know, reupting some
- 53:52Speaker 3: contracts and things like that for their protection. So they
- 53:57Speaker 3: say blah blah blah, and you know, Mancola is very
- 54:04Speaker 3: much aware, well aware, Hey, this very much feels like
- 54:09Speaker 3: an occupation. You're not doing anything for us, but we're
- 54:13Speaker 3: still kind of we feel the pressure. We are under
- 54:16Speaker 3: your thumb. We don't like it. We haven't done anything
- 54:19Speaker 3: to you. We are not a danger. So why don't
- 54:23Speaker 3: you guys ease back and actually help us the way
- 54:26Speaker 3: that you've said you're gonna help us. That individual gets
- 54:31Speaker 3: on a ship, attempts to fly back to the Star
- 54:36Speaker 3: Destroyer and immediately blows up. It is gone. This is
- 54:45Speaker 3: when Palpatine calls upon Darth Vader and says, hey, I
- 54:50Speaker 3: got a mission for you. There's this situation going on.
- 54:56Speaker 3: But also they have made some uh observations in the
- 55:02Speaker 3: tactics that the king has made in negotiations, and it
- 55:06Speaker 3: feels very familiar to some of the clones, And so
- 55:09Speaker 3: Bader was like, oh, you think there's a Jedi there? Yes, okay, cool,
- 55:15Speaker 3: my mission go kill the Jedi? Got it? They go
- 55:20Speaker 3: all hell has broken loose.
- 55:22Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 55:24Speaker 3: People are fighting and.
- 55:25Speaker 4: We get to see Lee Char.
- 55:27Speaker 3: And we get to see Acbar Acbar.
- 55:31Speaker 2: Yes, I love. I love getting to see the Moncalamarians
- 55:36Speaker 2: the Mancola because Akbar is just so interesting and especially
- 55:41Speaker 2: how was in Legends where he was like physically a
- 55:43Speaker 2: slave too Tarkan Like, just getting to know that knowledge
- 55:47Speaker 2: about him, especially building his character is superb to me.
- 55:52Speaker 2: And I'm so glad that Charlesoul decided to go with
- 55:59Speaker 2: going to Monca for this story, in particular because also
- 56:03Speaker 2: getting to see a character that we know with we
- 56:05Speaker 2: Char from Clone Wars and seeing how he reacted to it,
- 56:10Speaker 2: I feel like is super cool. But also it's still
- 56:14Speaker 2: it's it's going back to the Starfighter what we talked about.
- 56:17Speaker 2: We're building on other pieces of Star Wars. We're not
- 56:20Speaker 2: just creating our own little fantasy world in Star Wars. Yeah,
- 56:25Speaker 2: so I do. I love that we went to Manca
- 56:29Speaker 2: and getting to see the Inquisitors in action. We get
- 56:32Speaker 2: six brothers, six sister, and.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Then there's another one ninth sister.
- 56:41Speaker 2: It might be ninth sister. I think there's three inquisitors.
- 56:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I will actually look that up.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Well, because it's two brothers and one sister, because six
- 56:55Speaker 2: it's sixth sister, because six sister dies, I don't know. Uh.
- 57:05Speaker 2: While Clay looks that up. The art here is again
- 57:10Speaker 2: superb Giuseppi did an incredible job with it and articulating
- 57:19Speaker 2: basically so far. And Barr is a former Jedi padawan,
- 57:23Speaker 2: and he's basically a fallen Jedi. He's chosen to work
- 57:26Speaker 2: outside of the Jedi code and has seen a future
- 57:32Speaker 2: where Moncala. The things that he is doing on Moncala
- 57:37Speaker 2: lead to the Empire's defeat, and Moncala is the source
- 57:42Speaker 2: of the rebellion strength basically, and so Barr is determined
- 57:48Speaker 2: to make this happen with his ragtag group of a rebellion.
- 57:54Speaker 2: And so he's basically manipulating we Chart into doing what
- 58:00Speaker 2: he wants him to do, because lee Chart is very
- 58:02Speaker 2: much I'm going to protect my people, like That's how
- 58:05Speaker 2: we knew he was in the Clone Wars, and so
- 58:07Speaker 2: that's what he wants to lean towards here. But when
- 58:10Speaker 2: you have a Jedi who you think is a Jedi,
- 58:14Speaker 2: I'm giving you wisdom.
- 58:16Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 58:17Speaker 3: Yeah. Vader arrived at Duk City with three inquisitors sixth Brother,
- 58:24Speaker 3: ninth Sister, and tenth brother.
- 58:27Speaker 2: Okay, so ninth sister and I think it's tenth brother
- 58:32Speaker 2: end up dying because I think sixth Brother ends up
- 58:35Speaker 2: dead later on.
- 58:37Speaker 3: Now I will say it's very weird how ninth sister
- 58:45Speaker 3: her well, her history. Okay, I need to look into
- 58:59Speaker 3: ninth sister because ninth Sister was in both Fallen Jedi
- 59:07Speaker 3: games and I'm pretty sure. So it says here that, uh,
- 59:23Speaker 3: she was killed by Kestis in nine bby in the
- 59:29Speaker 3: Battle of Coruson.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Okay, so she didn't die in this she just had
- 59:33Speaker 2: a leg cut off, yeah, because that's what it is.
- 59:40Speaker 2: So she just had a leg cut off, and sixth Brother, yeah,
- 59:45Speaker 2: tried to basically left her behind as a distraction for
- 59:48Speaker 2: the remaining clones.
- 59:49Speaker 4: Okay, so I'm misunderstraid I thought she.
- 59:52Speaker 3: Now Because the thing is, there's a panel in one
- 59:56Speaker 3: of these issues, because we we running into like all
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: over the place with this Battle of Monpola. There is
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: a Jedi. The Jedi is fair and Bar, Yes, far
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: and Bar. He is a very interesting character in this
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: small arc because, like I said, what happens to the
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: Jedi after the Jedis as a group of individuals becomes
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: very few individuals. He is no longer a practicing Jedi
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: per se.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a fallen Jedi.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: He is a very very far fallen Jedi with the
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: position that he is going to be in, and we
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: will talk about that whole discussion here. He is. He
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: he's a little bit of a historian, which I really like.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: He does all all of this research on what has
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: become of the Republic and the Empire and like, how
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: did this happen and how could like and I and
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: I am kind of like, eh, I feel like this
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: is a little bit of a plot hole, just to
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: kind of make this make sense a little bit. There's
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: a lot of this stuff I don't think they would
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: have put out to the public, you know, And I
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: think you can kind of do some mental gymnastics and
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: saying like, oh, he got this by other means.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: Well, he talks about how his droid hacked into a
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: backup of the Jedi archives.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: Ah okay, yeah, yeah, okay, okay, that's true.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: So I don't really I didn't consider that a plot hole.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: This is like one of the best like well tied
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: together comics in my opinion.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but Barr does tell the inquisitors. He's like, hey,
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: you were a Jed, and once a Jedi, always a Jedi,
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: and literally, I think it's issue fifteen or sixteen. I
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: think it's fifteen. At the very last page he says
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: so evil. He just says, execute order sixty six. And
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: I remember, Katie at this point, I was buying this
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: comic monthly. When he said execute order sixty six. Immediately
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: after literally saying once a Jedi, always a Jedi, my
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: mind immediately with there, and I was like, he's not
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: going to do it. And he did it, and I
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: literally had to wait a whole month to see what
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: the hell happened. I was so hyped. I was like,
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: this is diabolical, this is amazing. I don't know how
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Jedi it is. Because then at the same time, you
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: could easily say, oh, it was a strategical, you know,
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: decision to get them away from us, like you know whatever.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: But the Clone start attacking the inquisitors, and then it
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: was so cool. So one of them immediately just gets
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: shredded with freaking blaster you know shots, and then I
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: think it was sixth brother and nine sister were running
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: and six brothers, like, oh, by the way, Slice cuts
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: off her leg and she's like and he's like, hey,
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: hold them back for me while you can, thanks by,
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: and he runs off. The next time we see that room,
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: we just see body parts.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: Yep, And I thought she was dead.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: And I can see how people can just make the assumption, Okay,
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: she's probably dead in that room somewhere. But also I'm
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: gonna have to go back to issue nineteen and see
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: if she's in the background, because that's where that's.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Where we get the next mission, which is to take
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: out eth Ca.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, but real quick, I did want to talk
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: about uh the uh, the whole uh Fhar and Barr thing. Yes,
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: Fhar and Barr. There is a realization at the very
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: end because he does call out Skywalker. He's like, I
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: know who you are. You're Skywalker and they're battling right
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: in front of the King of Mancala, and he is
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: saying like, oh, I orchestrated all of this. I killed
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: that imperial so that way you would come here, so
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: that way the empire would come here, so all of
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: this could get star And there's like a weird discussion
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: to be had, a debate if you will. You could
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: clearly make the accusation that he is no longer a Jedi,
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: he is a fallen Jedi. His decisions were not that
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: of the Jedi, but were they for the better good
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: of the galaxy?
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Well, I think it is, because, like I said with
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: the prophecy, I do think he it's that whole bad
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: bad decisions for good intentions kind of yes. And ultimately
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Moncala is at the heart of the rebellion with the
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: troops or with the ships.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Yes, And that's like I literally, Katie, like literally I
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: was sitting there with my eyes closed, and I was like,
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: I have to see if I can remember what the
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: ships look like when they're always attacking or fleeing from
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: the Empire in the movies. In you know, even you
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: go as far as freaking the last Jedi. Yep, this
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: is one of their ships, Like this is the one
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: of the models at least.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Like yeah, the round, circular ship with pointed nose. Uh.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: It's supposed to evoke like traveling through the ocean basically,
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: And so Mancola is at the heart of it, and
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: so Barr is right, but it's the Okay, let's do
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: bad things for good intentions. He manipulated the crap out
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: of Lee Char and like caused the death of so
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: many moncal Marians Mancala, I keep saying calin Marians. That
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: sounds wrong. That's a food uh, but like you caused
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: the death of so many Moncala and so many corn
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: like just to go okay, but like this is all
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: for the greater good. Like that's that's a deeper conversation
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: of it.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: It's so it is that is the type of decision
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: making that like it's and people are gonna be like
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: really mad at me for saying that. This is something
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: like a Batman would say. Batman makes these types of
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: decisions and so like because of that, I have to say, yes,
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: he is a fallen Jedi. He made a very bad
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: choice for the greater good of these people, but in
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: the end it literally helped them. It literally helped the galaxy.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: And like it's so weird because in that decision, you
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: sour the relationship that you once had with that of
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: what was what you thought was a Jedi.
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: I would love to see the King's next like interaction
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: with the Jedi.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: You know, yeah, that would be super cool, Like to
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: see that happen because I mean, you leave this and
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: he ends up in prison because of the actions of Bar.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: Yeah, but like do we do we ever see him
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: come out of that though? Does he ever meet Luke Skywalker?
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: You know not to my knowledge like I would I
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: would love to see that type of interaction two have
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: like to have or better yet even that of Leah
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: yeap like either or and you know, see if that
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: sours the relationship. We know that Acbar has always been
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: good to the rebellion all up until his death, like
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: so like it's just it piques my interest for sure.
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: But yeah, the king does end up going to be
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: a prisoner. We do see Bar's fallen body with the
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: giant hole in his back, insinuating that Darth Vader did
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: win the battle and that leaves us to the next
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: mission of his hunts for a home.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: To answer your question about Lee Char, Lee Char dives in.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: I believe it's going to be Star Wars for twenty
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: fifteen forty eighth.
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: Okay, so that is he I think he at least
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: meets Leya, then at the very least in.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: One a b y Leyah and her teeth broke into
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: the prison using the captured Moth and foundly charging a cell.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: I have to go back and read and read that.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: I So I went to the comics store today, Katie.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: I saw the I saw the first five issues of
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: the most recent Star Wars run. I almost bite all
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: of them. I almost did, and I was like.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: I want to do it.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: I can't get back into physical copies of floppies. I
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: just can't. There's not enough room in this apartment to
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: do so.
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: But it is.
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: Something that we will eventually cover. There is still a
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: lot of comics, guys. We are specifically covering this one,
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: specifically for the release of Master of Evil.
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: And Legacy of Darth Vader.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: And Legacy of Darth Vader Correct, which actually comes out
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: in three weeks. Is it a month?
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: Roughly a month?
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: I thought it was the eighth. Was it was it
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: the fifteenth?
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: No, it is the eighth.
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: That's why I was saying, roughly a month.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: Okay, okay, okay. So moving on, Katie, I want you
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: to let us know about the fun little adventure UH
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: that is UH issues nineteen through twenty five. Nineteen nineteen
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: is literally just kind of like a little bit of
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: a breather, but it's mainly the setup for what the
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: next darc will be.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: Yeah, so issue nineteen is the hunt for eth Cod
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: and his baby, and the baby is dropped off to
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: I believe it's the Seekers, which are those weird little
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: red people with the white face mask like the nurse
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: Maids basically, and this is also the introduction of the
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: well not the introduction, but like the Thirteenth Sister.
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: The ending of her story, the.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: Ending of her story is she's a main inquisitor here.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: The inquisitors in this story are fifth Brother, thirteenth Sister,
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: and I don't remember what brother title he was given.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: He was given. Uh, I will look at that one
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: as well, Uh Fader issue nineteen.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, yeah, I can't find it in the issue itself.
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: So they go back and I love this little.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: Interaction with thirteenth Sister and the Twilek Brother her lover, yeah,
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: her lover, where they're drinking the dust juice and Vader
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: kind of realizes, hey, you are not good. You were
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: not on my side, and so she Vader finds them
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: having a drink and he comes up and is like, yeah,
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: you're gonna die.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: So that's funny because they don't even give him a
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: numbered brother title here they name they call him by
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: name in Wikipedia. In Wikipedia, his name is uh uh
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: Ulan to you, A l O tahlan Ya Luna is
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: his last name. But yeah, keep going, And.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: So issue number twenty, Vader is kind of leading a
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: hunt for them all over the city until he force
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: kills them with their own lightsabers and they're forced to
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: kill each other.
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: Yes, now, I remember the conversation we had last week
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: on the technicality of me getting the answer wrong. I
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: love that panel, by.
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: The way, it's oh good, I I act.
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: I love the like even the menacing look that Vader
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: has with his hand all like curled up and everything. Now,
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: there is a moment when they're hunting down eth Koff's
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: daughter and spouse. Yeah, thirteenth Sister lets them go for
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: a brief second, and then when Talan and fifth brother
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: notice that she let them go, she force pulls the
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: baby out of the door as it was closing, and
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: then she says, oh, this was my planel along I
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: And she says something very sadistic. She's like, oh, she
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: connected with me woman to woman, and so now every
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: single time she is in need of help, she can
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: never trust another woman. Ever again, like that is some
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: sadistic shit.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: And like I get where Vader was leading towards where
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: cause he explains to Papatine like, oh, the only reason
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: she grabbed the baby is because she got caught. I
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: think that a beater's point of view. I don't even
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: think in Delilah Dawson's point of view. I do think
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: that it's like legitimate to an extent where thirteen Sister
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: did that on purpose and like this wasn't like a oh, yeah,
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna let you go.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: Well, and that's and that's the thing, like there is
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: no way of knowing, yeah if thirteen Sister was telling
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: the truth or not. So my technicality is still true
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: with no proof. And I hate it like I remembered
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: because there's because there's a moment even like uh in
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: the in UH issue twenty, he gives both reasons. Ugh,
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: he gives both reasons. Is and that is truly why
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: I was so confused at my actual answer, because while
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: chasing them down, he says, oh, the other day, I
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: noticed there was a connection between you two. You would
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: think that the eradication of the Jedi e Cough especially
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: would prove a point that you have this weakness that
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: it needed to be dispelled. This makes you weak, like
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: all of these other things. Right, And then when he
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: talks to Palpatine, Palpatine's like, why the hell did you
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: kill these people? And Vader's like, oh, it was because
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: he she almost let e costs daughter go. It's like
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: you lying, sack of Like what are you talking? Like
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: you're literally giving two reasons here, Like you're lying to
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: your boss to make yourself look good, dude, Like this
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: is not a good look for you, Vader, It really isn't.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: But I also like how Palpatine was kind of fed
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: up with his bullshit. But he's like, Vader, you destroyed
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: my city. Oh you know that that very nice high
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: official like political entity that also lives down the street.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: You threw a freaking speeder at her. She is dead
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: if amongst all this chaos, and like Vader even says like, oh,
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: you gave me any inquisitors, He's like, yeah, I gave
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: you the inquisitors. I gave you the inquisitors. It is
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: my power given upon you. If the people see that
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: you do not have control over this, it shows that
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: I don't have any control and that'll cause whispers and
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: all shit will break loose. No, I've had it, You're done,
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: And Vader's like, fine, give me a planet. And I
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: love I love this because again this is issue twenty.
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: We are rounding two years of this book having publication. Yep.
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: In the very first issue, Papinson's like, what do you want?
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: I can give you a planet, he says it. That
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: is a callback from almost two years of this book.
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: Vader's finally like, you know what I'm calling in that favor.
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: I want a planet. It's mine, I want it whatever
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: like I want it. And Papinin's like, oh that makes sense,
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: Like I have mine and you can have yours. And
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: so that way your inquisitors can go with you, and
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: this shit doesn't.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: And that's why the inquisitors are on a mood of Mustafar.
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: I actually really like that. Vader was like, Nah, they're
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: not on my planet. They're not coming to my planet.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: I can give them a moon. They can be on
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: their own moon.
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: So the rest of the book, he or the rest
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: of the run vay are ends up on Mustafart and
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: he gets pad me ship to do it, the original
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: ship where he met pat and I did like this
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: callback as well, because Veeder basically takes it to Mustafar
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: and destroys it. And so the next couple issues we
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: go through cycles of Babe and this run. This this
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: story in the run is called Fortress Vader, and so
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: we spend the rest of the time building Fortress Vader
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: and we get introduced to Moment. What did you think
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: of Moment?
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: Moment being a Sith architect was not something that I
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: was expecting when I first read this run, because again,
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: Moments mask was teased all the way in the first
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: two arcs of this book, all the way back when
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: you first got into the archives of the Library. It
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: was teased there, and then we see it again here.
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, there's a lot like it honestly resembles
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: if you look up, because we've already read both books.
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: The Force Unleashed star Killer has a mask that is
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: almost identical to Moments, and I wonder if it's more
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: of like a like if this is an homage to
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: Force on Leash, because of course Force on Leachs became
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: came out before this, or if there was just something
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: out there in the ethos of Star Wars legends that
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: kind of just has this type of look to it
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: and they force un least and this homage to that.
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: Like I'm very interested to know the concept of this.
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: But learning about moment, this individual who is basically Star
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: Wars Jeffrey Dahmer like he's a little bit of a
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: weirdo psycho. Yeah, you see him like I assume, like
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: slaughtering a family pet, like when you see the first flashback,
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: and then he grows up, gets in trouble, is put
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: into a prison and then Darth shaw is her name?
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: Is she a Darth? I'm not really sure I.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: Would call her a Shaw or I think she goes
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: by Lady Shah.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: Lady Shah breaks into the prison, picks up Moment and
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: basically is like, hey, I know you have like the
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: the dark Side loves you, like I could tell you're
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: gonna be my apprentice, and I love I love how
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: arrogant this guy is. He's like she kept saying that
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: she kept calling me an apprentice and she wanted me
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: to call her master, but Moment is second to no
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: one and she didn't like that, so I killed her.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: It's wild and like just the way that he brought
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: about himself after that, He's like, I didn't have an apprentice.
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: After that, the Sith kind of died with me, which
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: is a very interesting concept. I if they, like I
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: don't want them to call this the Adventures of Moment,
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: but like if they were to have some other stories
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: that kind of elaborated on that time of him just
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: being on his own, I think I would I would
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: be okay with that. I think I would be very
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: interested in that.
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: I feel like they could do like a Halloween line
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: like they're kind of already doing, and like I think
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: this year is what the Pits of Tattooine or something,
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: and I feel like they could do something very similar
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: and be like the Tales of Darth Moment or moment
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: if they do.
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: Okay, so picture this. I don't know. You were not
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: the type of individual that is very big into horror.
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: I know this, but there is a very classic show
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: called Tales of the Crypt if you look it up.
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: I forgot his name, but there is a host. It's
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: basically just a skeleton with very long, scaly hair, and
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: he tells these stories if you share it, like that
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: of like Moment's mask being on somebody's head and it's like, oh,
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: let me tell you my story, Like that would be fun.
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: That's what I feel like, as well as like, hey,
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: like even if you took it from this comic and
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: you were like, Okay, Darth moment is telling his stories
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: because Cidius. When Cidius reconnects with Vader at the end,
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: he's like, dude, you've been gone for a while. I
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: thought I was gonna have to find and do.
- 1:25:36Speaker 4: It princess like.
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: So this whole building process on Mustafart takes a hot minute,
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: so I feel like you could integrate it with the
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: ten people that Moment basically possesses on the.
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: On Mustafar and just do it that way and you.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: Still have hails from Darth Vader's palace, but it's all
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: moment tales.
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I like that, but uh, moment. He is
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: also not a great architect. Apparently it takes him nine
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: different embodiments of Vader's castle, but it's it's it's supposed
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: to be comical. I really like the way that Charles
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: Soul wrote this and the panel progression was just chef's
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: kiss because you you start to realize Vader is striking
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: Moment down basically out of uh, out of like frustration, yeah,
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: and it's so funny. It's like, oh, I got it
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: wrong next time, cluk, you know, like you just and
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: then of course Vader just keeps putting on like the
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: mask on different people that are there to build. I
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: love this. And then also there is uh, the Mustafarians,
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: the locals, the yeah, which is a whole other side
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: story that literally didn't go anywhere. But I feel like
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: I don't know if Soul felt obligated to like try
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: and make some sort of like resistance towards Vader occupying
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: a planet, because all it really did was give Sole
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: an excuse to to write a really badass Vader flying
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: out of lava. Really, that's really the only reason why
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: this story, this part of the story comes to life.
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: That that like I wasn't really compelled by the native story,
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: Like how did you feel?
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I wasn't really either. I do think it's important
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: to showcase because then you're still you always get in.
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: Hey, like we're going to somebody.
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: Else's planet kind of thing, and like getting that perspective
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: is still I feel like important. Was it Was it
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: valuable to the story as a whole? Probably not, But
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: I do think it's valuable. It's A valuable thing for
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: Star Wars stories to do is to make sure, hey,
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: there are native species on a planet and it's important
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: to include them and how us going to their planets
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: affect the colonization. Yeah, they are Mustafarians, by the way.
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: Oh so I did get it right? Yeah, okay, cool, cool, No,
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: it's just you know, going back to you kept on
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: saying Calamarians and I was like, wait, it is Mustafarian correct.
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: So yeah, I I dug this. How did you feel
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: about because it did? Like I did question it, and
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: I'm glad they eventually kind of touched it a little bit. There.
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: There was at a time moment as the mask tells
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: Vader like, oh, little me as a mask, I can't
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: touch the force in this body. Blah blah blah blah blah.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: I knew that was BS. I've read this run probably
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: three times.
- 1:29:56Speaker 4: I knew that was BS the first time.
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: I also called it as BS. But like I when
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: I first read it, I was like, Okay, you can't
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: call upon the force, but you're strong enough to become
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: an entity that can literally take over somebody's body, like
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: and all of that stuff you were saying in your
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: in your like little flashbacks like I don't know if
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: you're telling the truth. And then of course near the end,
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: when Vader is actually able to open the door for
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: the first time, Moment also opens the door. Uh, and
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: then we see moment that.
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: Is where the Mustafarian battle kind of.
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: Does take place. Yeah, it does take.
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: Place because Moment is opening the door and the Mustafarians
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: are distracting Vader from getting there because Moment basically lets
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: himself out. Yeah, and like a full body appearance.
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: Which I thought that was really cool. I did like that.
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: It does like intrigue me because he did also say
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: in this fight that takes place immediately after with Vader,
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: like Vader like is getting his ass beat, gets an
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: arm cut off, and he's like, okay, okay, before you
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: kill me, I have to ask, did you tell the
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: truth about padme being on the other side of that door.
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, whatever you want, you got it, baby,
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: you just have to go get it. But you are
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: not the right person to be on that side of
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: the door. And Vader's like, you want to bet Boom
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: slams a big slab of his freaking fortress crushes his
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: body until the mask plops off of this dead body insane,
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: epic epic insane. Uh there's a.
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: Panel in this twenty five issue run that I have
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: an issue with.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: I love this part.
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: Giseppi did an incredible job with it.
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: I have to agree. I think that the entire run
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: was drawn and colored perfectly. The shading, the lighting, every
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: single piece of this book this series was phenomenal. The
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: things that needed to look grotesque were grotesque. Every piece
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: of emotion I saw on every single person's face, even
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: if it wasn't in their face, I could see it
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: in their body language, which is very hard to do
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: on still panels like it is all there, and I
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: really do appreciate the creative team for working so hard
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: to do that for us. The last issue, Issue twenty five.
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: I wanted to bring this one up specifically because there
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: is still to this day, so much debate on what
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: this means for the character of Darth Vader, for the
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: prophecy within Star Wars of the Chosen One. A lot
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: of people have debated it. I specifically go back to
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: this issue. I want to say, every other year since
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: its release, I read this issue so much out of
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: this run, because I will admit the first year and
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: a half. I felt the same way that a lot
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: of people do.
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: And I know exactly which panel you're talking about.
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: It's it's literally one of the most debated ideas in
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: Star Wars. It has to deal with, of course, uh SMI.
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: The conception of Anakin skywalker.
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: And the conception of Anakin Skywalker.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: So, guys, if you're following along with us in the comic,
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: this is issue twenty five and his page one, two,
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: three four, there was no father, unnatural and it's got Palpatine.
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: It's basically a ghost and it's like his hands are
- 1:34:41Speaker 2: basically hovering around her pregnant belly. And Okay, so my
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: understanding of the comments on this one is it's basically, okay,
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: Palpatine was the father. Okay, there was no father. Oh
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: Palpatine raped her kind of thing.
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: There's there's a lot of uh, what's the right word
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: I'm looking for there. There's a lot of people do
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: believe that Sidious did things to Sman, whether that was
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: directly or indirectly. M what is your opinion, Katie.
- 1:35:30Speaker 4: Dude, I don't fucking know.
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: I remember this coming out, and I remember Soul's comment.
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: Soul commented on it. I'm gonna have to go back.
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: And find those comments.
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: Because I feel like this is basically self explanatory.
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: But it also goes.
- 1:35:49Speaker 2: Back to like the Last Jedi where Kylo Rinn is like, hey,
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: like your family was nobody, Like you had a bunch
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: of nobody's for your parents. Like, I feel like this
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: is the dark Side. This is a dark Side portal
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: that Vader wanted to put his fortress on top of
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: to harness that energy, and so he's seeing the consequences
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: of that. I don't feel I feel like Shmi Shmi
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: talks about Anakin in the Phantom Menace, like she wanted
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: to have.
- 1:36:27Speaker 4: An again, hmm, and.
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: Was probably trying to figure out a way for that
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: to happen as a slave, and then it just happened.
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: Whether Sidius was involved or not, I don't know. I
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: do feel like the dark Side tells lies, and I
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: feel like that was souls intent with this one.
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: Yeah. I when I saw I was like, holy shit,
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: pal Between is Darth Vader's daddy. That's weird. That was
- 1:37:04Speaker 3: my first reaction when I first read the comic. I
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: was like, this can't be true. Like and then of
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: course there was a lot of debate and there still is.
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: Like I said, it literally comes around my timeline every
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: so often. And the more and more I see this,
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: there is like I believe a there is a weird
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: like maybe a manipulation of Midi Chlorians debate there. I'm
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: I'm very curious as well. I haven't had the chance
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: to ever talk to Charles Soul. If I ever do,
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: I think I would like to have that conversation with him,
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: or quick conversation. Excuse me, because I think like saying
- 1:38:07Speaker 3: that there was no father cool, that could mean a
- 1:38:12Speaker 3: lot of different things even in reality. Was sme looking
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: at you know, donation centers and you know was Anakina
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: to baby? Is what we'll see. Well, if I will
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: make this promise, if I ever have the chance to
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: talk to Charles Soul at a convention, I will ask
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: him about Darth Vader number twenty five and what that means.
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: But this was an awesome book. At the very end,
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: one thing that I did want to ask you. In
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: this weird world, we see a lot of different things.
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: We see Anakin as a child, We see every little
- 1:39:05Speaker 3: highlight of his life and even moments of his life
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: that he has yet to live. And I'm almost curious.
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: Did season two of Rebels come out before or after this?
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: Before or after this issue? Yeah, so let's see so
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: that I'm looking at this Charles sol interview. So this
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: was December nineteenth, twenty eighteen, so Rebels season two. So
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: season two, Yeah, that's what I thought. Season two was
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: twenty sixteen. It was season season four ended March fifth,
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: twenty eighteen.
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: Okay, so it had already passed. At the time of
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: him riding, it would have already passed as well. So yeah,
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: we see the Malakor fight, but we also see the
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: Jedi Council and one particular decision that I'm like, why
- 1:40:33Speaker 3: did they choose this? We see the embodiment of what
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: Darth Vader sees himself like internally. M GRAB two. What
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: I would assume is supposed to be like some sort
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: of lightsaber weapon, whatever it may be. We never really
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: see Anakin fight with two lightsabers outside of maybe two
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: or three instances in the Clone Wars and in Attack
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: of the Clones. This is not normal for Anakin or
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: Darth Vader.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: I think it's just supposed to be like very martial esque,
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: because I feel like he's a spirit. So you have
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: to kind of articulate that a little bit and it
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: looks more meta.
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say, I think it just looks
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: like badass. Really is that's the decision that they made.
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: Now here's the question. I clearly see this as just
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: the Dark Side manipulating Darth Vader more. But is that Padme? Nope? Yeah, dude,
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: I don't think. Like I said, I think it's the
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: h I think it's just the manipulation of the dark Side.
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: But one thing that I did, Okay.
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: Right, so I'm looking at this interview on Star Wars
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: dot Com and it's about the end of the series.
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: He said the scene with Padme is supposed to illustrate
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: that that it like saying, the sequence is an illusion.
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: I don't think that's Padme, right, I mean, who knows
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: if it's Padme? Even though I wrote it. Sometimes I
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: don't even know.
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: That's awesome. Well, and that's the thing, because again, like
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: Vader says it to moment, I have been lied to
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: by so many people with empty promises of what the
- 1:42:53Speaker 3: Force can do. Do not lie to me about this. Yeah,
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: And so, like you have to wonder in his death,
- 1:43:01Speaker 3: would mum um really lie or in the moment of
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: what he thought was victory. Would he lie? You know?
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: So I thought that was very very interesting. But I
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: literally did not notice. And I think more so because
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: I have always been so quick to read this all
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: the time. That blue light that shows in the distance
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: loose loose Skywalker, I never yeah, which I thought was
- 1:43:31Speaker 3: really really fun, really cool. It prophesies his you know,
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: arrival and his eventual return to the light. The light
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: literally dissolves him. In this sequence, Vader does come back
- 1:43:50Speaker 3: and talks to Palpatine. It's like, yeah, I found my home.
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: It's here, I got it, It's mine. And that is
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: the end of the Vader rep.
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: We went way more in depth than I originally, you know,
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: but it's just so good, guys.
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: Yeah, like it really is. Uh. And of course I've
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: heard this. I have yet, like I've I've read I
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: think up to issues like twenty ish on both of
- 1:44:19Speaker 3: the Vader runs that come after this, I want to
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: continue those, like there's I think the most recent Vader
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: run actually plays a lot into like Patime because like
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: her like yeah, save and that whole team apparently like
- 1:44:41Speaker 3: starts working with Vader and you're like, oh shit, like
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: how does that come about, so like, I want to
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: get into that more. And like I said, there's there's
- 1:44:52Speaker 3: I've I've never heard of a Bad Vader book, so
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: I'm glad that we got to read this one. But
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: with that, guys, I think that is it. That is
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: it for the episode. Man, these episodes are getting longer
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: and longer by the week. But guys, remember we are

- 1:47:31Speaker 2: only social media I know how to do, Guys, is
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: like talk to a camera. I'm not very good at
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: the editing stuff, so that's what I That's what you'll
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: probably see for me.
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: That's why I'm here.
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: I get so frustrated at editing.
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: Like I said at the beginning, like oh maybe I'll
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: do a time lapse or or story post on me
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: putting my bookshelves together, and I just as I like
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: thought about it more, I'm like, man, that's gonna be
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: a pain in the ass.
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: Who knows, We'll see what happens.
- 1:48:00Speaker 3: So yeah. So Abby feels the same way with working
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: with people, and they have the same kind of thought process.
- 1:48:07Speaker 3: It's like do we have to do this? This is
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: gets forever. It's like, hey, guys, you hired me to
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: do something, you gotta do it, so.
