2:33
Speaker 5: How you doing, my friend, I'm doing great, Dave, I'm doing.
2:36
Speaker 2: Fine, all right. So we're we all about flood recovery
2:39
Speaker 2: in the state. We just had our big of animal
2:41
Speaker 2: talk more about it on Friday here on our lot.
2:44
Speaker 2: Greatest listeners in the world came through. Several trucks are
2:47
Speaker 2: headed north. Some actually went up Friday, others have going
2:51
Speaker 2: up today. We get events going on at WVRM WVRC
2:54
Speaker 2: media stations today in Martinsburg and Morgantown and also in
2:58
Speaker 2: Clarksburg coming to tomorrow. What do you guys doing.
3:00
Speaker 6: Yeah, so we're doing a promo called Buckets for buck Cannon.
3:04
Speaker 6: And so we've been doing this a long time. And
3:07
Speaker 6: what you guys did, what other nonprofits have done last
3:10
Speaker 6: week and this week, absolutely priceless, priceless, absolutely amazing. But
3:16
Speaker 6: if you remember back twenty sixteen, man, this is this
3:18
Speaker 6: is a long haul and these folks are just a
3:21
Speaker 6: lot of these folks are still underwater, still got mud
3:23
Speaker 6: between their toes, and so this is going to be
3:26
Speaker 6: a long, long effort. So we've put together a promo
3:30
Speaker 6: called Buckets for buck Cannon. We've partnered with Chick fil A,
3:33
Speaker 6: We've partnered with greens Feed and Seed. Right now, you
3:36
Speaker 6: can go to our website Union mission dot com or
3:39
Speaker 6: we feed people dot com and you can click on
3:42
Speaker 6: the donate now to Buckets for buckhann and you'll you'll
3:45
Speaker 6: be taking to the landing page. You can choose the
3:47
Speaker 6: first bucket option, which is twenty five dollars, have normal
3:52
Speaker 6: clean supplies, paper towels, regular towels, bleach, all that kind
3:57
Speaker 6: of stuff. Then you've got second option fifty dollars, which
4:00
Speaker 6: has all of that cleanlies in the first option, plus brooms, mops, squeegees.
4:06
Speaker 6: Then you have the third option, which is one hundred
4:08
Speaker 6: dollars option, and that will include all of the cleaning supplies,
4:11
Speaker 6: all the brooms, all the mops, all the squeeges, plus
4:13
Speaker 6: tools such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrow, stuff like that.
4:17
Speaker 5: Fans.
4:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's all very important too, because right now,
4:20
Speaker 2: I mean, I was talking to some folks over the
4:23
Speaker 2: weekend about they what they need, and then Juno, you've
4:26
Speaker 2: covered enough of these jacent it changes. You know, right,
4:29
Speaker 2: twenty four hours they need this, forty eight hours they
4:32
Speaker 2: need this exact and it changes. And this makes it
4:35
Speaker 2: really simple because the people don't have to go out
4:37
Speaker 2: and do the shopping themselves. They just they just go
4:39
Speaker 2: to your website or social media. It's take it from there.
4:41
Speaker 5: That's right.
4:42
Speaker 6: So Wednesday we will have we will have displays in
4:47
Speaker 6: the two Chick fil A's and one in South Ridge
4:49
Speaker 6: one of South Charleston will have displays in greens Feed and.
4:52
Speaker 5: Seed that the folks from Chick fil A, the folks from.
4:54
Speaker 6: Greens Feed and Seed, they have been amazing to work
4:57
Speaker 6: with and so display as we'll be put up in
5:00
Speaker 6: their stores coming Wednesday of this week, and all somebody
5:03
Speaker 6: who have to do is just scan it with their phone, okay,
5:05
Speaker 6: and take care of it right then and there.
5:07
Speaker 2: And again a big, big shout out to Chick fil
5:09
Speaker 2: A and the folks at greens Feed and Seed for
5:12
Speaker 2: hopeful partnering. But because you know, the bottom line is,
5:15
Speaker 2: and we found out with our various things that we've
5:17
Speaker 2: done with you and with other organizations, we as companies
5:21
Speaker 2: can't do that and individuals if we don't get some
5:24
Speaker 2: of these corporate sponsors involved, they're so important.
5:26
Speaker 6: So important. Greens Feed there are doing such an amazing
5:31
Speaker 6: job for us and all of these products wholesale. The
5:36
Speaker 6: buying power that we will have with greens Feed and
5:40
Speaker 6: Seed is going to be It is pretty awesome.
5:42
Speaker 5: It's pretty key to this.

Speaker 2: dot com If you had an opportunity to go up
5:59
Speaker 2: there yet Jason and Buchannan and I had I even
6:02
Speaker 2: been really busy, Yeah, I have not have not. You know,
6:05
Speaker 2: I've known the mayor of Buchannan for a number of years,
6:07
Speaker 2: Robbie Skinner. He and I have been very close friends.
6:09
Speaker 2: I had him on the shows on Midday Wednesday, Thursday
6:12
Speaker 2: and Friday. Today we're going to talk to the Weston mayor.
6:14
Speaker 2: I have talked to residents people that I know in Mechannon,
6:20
Speaker 2: they've never seen anything like this. Yeah, right, And and
6:23
Speaker 2: I'm sure our listeners in Elkview and Clendennon in those
6:26
Speaker 2: areas can can can feel what they're what they're going
6:32
Speaker 2: through because they went through the same thing exactly.
6:34
Speaker 6: We've got a couple of long talk term donors up
6:36
Speaker 6: in Buchanan and we reached out to them last week,
6:40
Speaker 6: got their voicemails and have not heard back from them.
6:43
Speaker 6: And we are man, We're praying, We're gonna keep calling.
6:46
Speaker 6: We're gonna, We're gonna I if we have to drive
6:49
Speaker 6: up there. And these people have been Union Mission supporters
6:51
Speaker 6: for years and years and years and years, and we
6:53
Speaker 6: are heartbroken for these folks.
6:55
Speaker 2: So it's I mean, the amount of devastation and anybody
6:59
Speaker 2: that has driven to Bucannon. I've been there several times,
7:02
Speaker 2: and you know, when you get off, I think it's
7:04
Speaker 2: the Western Accit ninety nine, you know, to go into Bucannon.
7:09
Speaker 2: I mean, normally you expect flooding to be in hollows
7:13
Speaker 2: or hollers as we say in West Virginia. That's where
7:15
Speaker 2: you expect it to be as soon as you get
7:17
Speaker 2: off that exit, the walmart, the speedway, I mean, I mean,
7:21
Speaker 2: the sheets, all those I mean are right there. And
7:24
Speaker 2: I got I got a buddy mine that lives right
7:25
Speaker 2: in downtown Buchanan, and we we've interviewed him a couple
7:29
Speaker 2: of times on the show last week and he just says,
7:31
Speaker 2: you know, I've never seen anything like this. He's been
7:33
Speaker 2: up there about ten years and he said, I have
7:35
Speaker 2: never We've had issues with drainage and whatever, We've never
7:38
Speaker 2: seen anything like this. But when you like Brian Hughes says,
7:40
Speaker 2: when you get seven inches of rain over parked over
7:45
Speaker 2: one area in about an hour to two hours, greatest
7:49
Speaker 2: flood control efforts in the world aren't going to do
7:52
Speaker 2: anything exactly.
7:53
Speaker 6: That's that is devastating, man, that is devastating. We'll kudos
7:58
Speaker 6: to you guys for the work you guys did this
8:00
Speaker 6: last week and what you'll do this week. And it's
8:03
Speaker 6: pretty awesome watching people just jump into action once again.
8:08
Speaker 2: On Friday on our lot here, Jason, and you've been
8:10
Speaker 2: here in partnering with us enough to know how these
8:13
Speaker 2: things work. I mean just seeing people pull up. You
8:16
Speaker 2: guy shows up and he hands U a broom. Yeah,
8:19
Speaker 2: we appreciate it. Next guy pulls up in a van
8:23
Speaker 2: completely loaded down with stuff that it took. I mean
8:27
Speaker 2: borant wanted to the front desk is sending out emails
8:29
Speaker 2: and text saying well, we need all hands on deck,
8:31
Speaker 2: you know, out here because we can't handle the amount
8:33
Speaker 2: of stuff. But that's what West Virginians do.
8:35
Speaker 6: It's amazing. It's amazing. We love each other, we care
8:37
Speaker 6: for each other. We always jump in and help each other.
8:40
Speaker 6: And that's what it's all about.
8:41
Speaker 7: Man.
8:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, so let's go over this this thing again.
8:44
Speaker 2: It's buckets for b Caannon, Chick fil A, Union, Mission, Greens,
8:48
Speaker 2: Feed and Seed. Talk about it again.
8:50
Speaker 5: Yep.
8:50
Speaker 6: So we'll have displays set up in those stores, Greens,
8:53
Speaker 6: Feed and Seed and both Chick fil A South Ridge
8:56
Speaker 6: and South Charleston coming this Wednesday. All you'll have to
8:58
Speaker 6: do is scan the QR code on those displays and
9:01
Speaker 6: you'll be able to choose your three options twenty five
9:03
Speaker 6: dollars option, fifty dollars or one hundred dollar option. If
9:06
Speaker 6: you want to donate now, go to our website, we
9:09
Speaker 6: feed people dot com. You can click the donate now button.
9:12
Speaker 6: It'll take you to the landing page four buckets for Buckhannon,
9:15
Speaker 6: and you can choose one of those three options right now.
9:18
Speaker 2: All right, they got a text here for you that
9:20
Speaker 2: has nothing to do with what we're talking about. You're
9:21
Speaker 2: a popular guy, wow, Tex says, Why are the Union
9:24
Speaker 2: Mission stores not open on Saturdays for those of us
9:27
Speaker 2: that work during the week.
9:28
Speaker 6: Well, because our our folks have a limited number of staff,
9:33
Speaker 6: and as a nonprofit, it's getting harder and harder and
9:36
Speaker 6: harder to take care of those staff.
9:38
Speaker 2: It's getting harder for profits to get people to work.
9:41
Speaker 5: Yeah. So and they're asking for a day off and.
9:44
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's understood, Yeah understood. Yeah, maybe we work on
9:47
Speaker 2: that in the future, get him some staff members. We
9:50
Speaker 2: can make that happen, all right. Again, I want to
9:52
Speaker 2: make sure that people know to go to the.
9:54
Speaker 5: Website yep, we feed people dot com all.
9:56
Speaker 2: Right, and all the informations there. It's also available on
9:58

Speaker 2: in court this same afternoon here in Charleston about two o'clock.
15:03
Speaker 14: Your take on well, I think wow, I mean this one,
15:08
Speaker 14: this one kind of blew me away. And just the
15:11
Speaker 14: reprehensible and the abhorrent allegations that we've that we've all
15:16
Speaker 14: heard about. It's just something that, uh, we're not going
15:19
Speaker 14: to tolerate at the West Virginia Republican Party.
15:21
Speaker 7: And no one should, right.
15:23
Speaker 5: Uh.
15:23
Speaker 14: So we're going to do something that we've never done
15:25
Speaker 14: before at the wv g OP. This will be the
15:28
Speaker 14: first time in our party's history that we're going to
15:30
Speaker 14: take a vote to disavow one of our nominees, and
15:34
Speaker 14: we're going to do that this coming Saturday at our
15:36
Speaker 14: meeting here in Charleston down at the Embassy Suites. And
15:40
Speaker 14: we're doing it mostly to send a very clear message
15:43
Speaker 14: that this is something these types of allegations are something
15:46
Speaker 14: that we're not going to tolerate. We're not going to
15:48
Speaker 14: put our name behind it, and we're also not going
15:51
Speaker 14: to be silent about it. We're sending a strong message
15:53
Speaker 14: that these times, types of things by our public officials
15:57
Speaker 14: just just aren't going to be tolerated in our parties.
15:59
Speaker 14: So we're going to do you a I composed a
16:02
Speaker 14: letter to the state party chairman and the letter will
16:07
Speaker 14: talk about the disavowal and what it entails.
16:09
Speaker 11: It.
16:10
Speaker 14: It's part of our bylaws, you know. We have to
16:12
Speaker 14: we have to go by the by laws. We're doing
16:13
Speaker 14: it the right way. But I'm required to collect at
16:16
Speaker 14: least thirty five signatures in order to get this ball rolling.
16:20
Speaker 14: And I sent out to notice that that I was
16:22
Speaker 14: going to do this, and we had we have over
16:25
Speaker 14: eighty signatures so far, people without hesitation signing on to this. So,
16:30
Speaker 14: uh so, what I'll do is now that I've collected
16:32
Speaker 14: the minimum signatures is, I'll take it to the meeting,
16:35
Speaker 14: handed to the state chairman, and then we'll move to
16:37
Speaker 14: official proceedings to disavow.
16:40
Speaker 2: So what does that exactly mean, to disavow him? I mean,
16:42
Speaker 2: what what? What? What will happen him?
16:45
Speaker 14: So essentially, what what could happen is he will no
16:50
Speaker 14: longer be recognized by the party as our nominee, as
16:54
Speaker 14: a candidate, and most likely even as a member.
16:58
Speaker 2: So that's just kicking him the party. I mean, if
17:00
Speaker 2: this goes through.
17:01
Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean the Secretary of State, he is the
17:04
Speaker 14: person who registers voters. We don't as a party register voter.
17:08
Speaker 14: So I can't speak on that end of it. But
17:11
Speaker 14: as far as the West Virginia Republican Party incorporated our
17:14
Speaker 14: wv GOP, yes, essentially that's what we're doing all right now.
17:18
Speaker 2: He is doing court today at two o'clock, and of
17:21
Speaker 2: course we know Speaker Handshaw and as has called for
17:25
Speaker 2: his resignation. We don't know whether there's going to be
17:29
Speaker 2: a special session or not. The governors willing to do that.
17:31
Speaker 2: Apparently Speaker Hanshaw actually hand delivered a letter to the
17:34
Speaker 2: Governor's office I think a lot of this and I
17:37
Speaker 2: don't have any inside information here, Tony, but I think
17:39
Speaker 2: a lot of this is going to depend on what
17:40
Speaker 2: happens to two o'clock today in court, because I mean,
17:44
Speaker 2: I don't, I don't. We don't know what's going to happen.
17:46
Speaker 2: It's a federal court in Charleston. He makes an appearance
17:48
Speaker 2: at two o'clock today, So we'll we'll all do, we'll,
17:51
Speaker 2: we'll find out. I think I think we're going to
17:52
Speaker 2: get a little bit more clarity from mister Pritt at
17:54
Speaker 2: that time.
17:54
Speaker 7: Yeah, I agree with you.
17:56
Speaker 14: And at the party, we have not heard from from
17:59
Speaker 14: mister Print. We have no communication with him at all.
18:01
Speaker 14: We don't know what his intentions are.
18:03
Speaker 2: Well, man, he gets that one phone call to day, you.
18:05
Speaker 14: Know, well, yeah, and who knows who that's going to.
18:07
Speaker 14: I don't even want to know who that's going to.
18:09
Speaker 14: But anyway, uh so he he uh. He hasn't reached
18:13
Speaker 14: out to us, So we don't know if he's going
18:14
Speaker 14: to resign.
18:15
Speaker 7: We don't know.
18:17
Speaker 14: Really, it's kind of what's going to happen here because
18:20
Speaker 14: I don't think today's a plea deal. I don't think
18:23
Speaker 14: he's going to plead one way or another today, I
18:25
Speaker 14: think it's a it's a different process today. Yeah, And
18:28
Speaker 14: so then there's there's something in State Code about uh,
18:32
Speaker 14: you know, filling the ballot and disqualification, and then you're
18:36
Speaker 14: getting into ideas about well what what what qualifies as
18:40
Speaker 14: as a disqualification. There's a lot of things here that
18:43
Speaker 14: are that we're kind of taking one momentary.
18:46
Speaker 2: I understand he's disqualified if he is a felon, but
18:51
Speaker 2: because he hasn't been in court yet, he's not a felon.
18:53
Speaker 2: He's accused of it, but he's not a.
18:55
Speaker 14: Felon, and he may even be disqualified disqualified if he
18:59
Speaker 14: pleads guilty, which would But then again, is he going
19:02
Speaker 14: to plead before the August eleventh deadline? I don't know,
19:05
Speaker 14: so really, I don't know. So in the meantime, since
19:07
Speaker 14: we don't know those things, the party will do the disavowal.
19:10
Speaker 14: We will be doing that this weekend, and then we
19:14
Speaker 14: fully stand with what the leadership and the House Delegates
19:17
Speaker 14: is doing to try to proceed with expulsion measures.
19:21
Speaker 2: Well, speaking of the meeting this week, I mean, and
19:24
Speaker 2: you may not have any inside information. I know you're
19:26
Speaker 2: involved with State Republican Party, but you're not the you
19:29
Speaker 2: know you're not the party chair, that's Josh Holstein. But
19:32
Speaker 2: will will there be any discussions at all about changing
19:36
Speaker 2: the rules where you know, independence can no longer vote
19:40
Speaker 2: in the primary with like, do you have any knowledge
19:42
Speaker 2: of anything being discussed like that?
19:44
Speaker 14: Yeah, So at this meeting, we don't anticipate there to
19:47
Speaker 14: be a vote on the primary. There will be discussions
19:53
Speaker 14: about that issue. We may even set some rules about
19:57
Speaker 14: that issue moving forward so that we have more st
20:00
Speaker 14: ability because right now that issue is coming up every meeting.
20:03
Speaker 14: So we're looking at setting some rules, very specific rules
20:07
Speaker 14: on how that would work. So that will be discussed
20:10
Speaker 14: at this coming meeting, and then there's a possibility that
20:13
Speaker 14: this issue could be revisited next summer a year from now,
20:18
Speaker 14: and then at that point we may have a regular
20:21
Speaker 14: schedule of when you can and cannot bring this issue forward,
20:24
Speaker 14: because right now it's happening every meeting, and it's creating
20:27
Speaker 14: a little bit of friction among our members because so
20:30
Speaker 14: many people on both sides of this issue have strong
20:32
Speaker 14: feelings right and they and I quite frankly, I'll tell
20:38
Speaker 14: you when I listen to people on both sides of
20:39
Speaker 14: this issue. They all have very good reasons, and I
20:43
Speaker 14: have myself. I've when I you know, I might go
20:46
Speaker 14: to bed an open primary guy and wake up a
20:49
Speaker 14: closed primary guy.
20:50
Speaker 8: You know.
20:50
Speaker 14: It's just like in your mind, you're like, man, Okay,
20:51
Speaker 14: I'll see they have a good point here, but they
20:53
Speaker 14: have a good point over here. It's a very difficult situation.
20:56
Speaker 14: But this Saturday we will be discussing and we may
21:00
Speaker 14: even be taking actual measures to create a structured system
21:03
Speaker 14: around how to do this and to not have it
21:06
Speaker 14: come up at every party, excuse me, every meeting.
21:09
Speaker 2: Okay, guys, you're talking to Tony Hodge invites you to
21:11
Speaker 2: join me every Friday morning, nine oh six for the
21:12
Speaker 2: Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week from the Canal
21:14
Speaker 2: Charleston Humane Association. It's brought to you by Almost Have
21:17
Speaker 2: an Interiors family owned proudly serving the community for over
21:19
Speaker 2: fifty years, specializing in custom blinds, shades, shutters, upholstery and
21:24
Speaker 2: beautifully crafted sowned goods homes to hospitals, classrooms to commercial spaces.
21:28
Speaker 2: They can do at all five sixteen D Street in
21:30
Speaker 2: South Charleston. All right, let's get to the book.
21:32
Speaker 14: Yeah, yeah, So it's called the reversal. It's reclaiming Christian
21:36
Speaker 14: holiness and politicized age. And I was with you on
21:39
Speaker 14: your state wide show and didn't have an extra copy.
21:41
Speaker 7: I brought a copy in to you.
21:43
Speaker 14: Today as a gift, So so there you go.
21:46
Speaker 7: Hope you read it.
21:46
Speaker 14: But yeah, this is a just like the title says,
21:49
Speaker 14: reclaiming Christian holiness and a politicized age.
21:52
Speaker 7: And the reversal what that?
21:54
Speaker 14: And I know we have a short interview today, so
21:55
Speaker 14: I'm gonna go a lot quicker than I did the
21:56
Speaker 14: last time we spoke. But the reversal, what that is
22:00
Speaker 14: is there was a time in our culture where people
22:03
Speaker 14: put their faith ahead of everything. Faith was at the
22:06
Speaker 14: top of the list. Now I feel like that's been reversed.
22:09
Speaker 14: And now a lot of times we're defined by our
22:11
Speaker 14: politics first, and we organize ourselves by our politics. Even
22:15
Speaker 14: I gave a quick example, and I'll give it a
22:17
Speaker 14: lot quicker this time. But after the two thousand election,
22:22
Speaker 14: the media started and I'm talking about national media now,
22:25
Speaker 14: not you guys. I'm talking about New York Times. You
22:27
Speaker 14: can do a word search on their website and look
22:29
Speaker 14: this up. But they never used to refer to states
22:32
Speaker 14: as red states and blue states. It was just states,
22:36
Speaker 14: you know, but since the two thousand election and moving
22:38
Speaker 14: on these twenty five plus years, now we define ourselves
22:43
Speaker 14: as red states and blue states.
22:44
Speaker 7: And we all do this.
22:46
Speaker 14: You know, when we head south to vacation, are we
22:47
Speaker 14: going to a red state or you know, Pennsylvania blue state.
22:50
Speaker 14: You know, we say this all the time. This is
22:51
Speaker 14: not this is this is a new thing, right. And
22:55
Speaker 14: so what we've done is we've elevated politics to a
22:58
Speaker 14: level so high. But now we define ourselves by our
23:01
Speaker 14: politics rather than by our faith. And then there's another
23:04
Speaker 14: word in the title. It's called Christian holiness. And a
23:07
Speaker 14: lot of people don't even know what what holiness is.
23:11
Speaker 14: And so John Wesley, he's a guy that I draw on,
23:14
Speaker 14: you know, he's an eighteenth century Christian figure, and he
23:18
Speaker 14: defined holiness as the renewal of the soul in the
23:21
Speaker 14: image of God. And he said, it's the ongoing work
23:23
Speaker 14: of the Holy Spirit conforming a believer to the character
23:26
Speaker 14: of God in every area of life. So sin separates
23:29
Speaker 14: us from God. We all have sin in our lives.
23:31
Speaker 14: I do, my son Hayden beside me has sin. You know,
23:34
Speaker 14: we all have that, and so that's why we need
23:38
Speaker 14: a savior. We need Jesus Christ. He takes that and
23:41
Speaker 14: wipes that queen so that we can come back to God.
23:43
Speaker 14: And holiness is living more and more like Jesus Christ.
23:46
Speaker 14: And Jesus lived a perfect life. We can't live a
23:48
Speaker 14: perfect life, we can't do that, but we can work
23:51
Speaker 14: toward holiness through Jesus. And that's why we need Jesus
23:54
Speaker 14: as our savior. And so I base this book on
23:57
Speaker 14: putting those faith issues and holiness of our character ahead
24:02
Speaker 14: of our politics instead of putting our politics first right now.
24:06
Speaker 14: And I'll even admit a lot of the reason why
24:08
Speaker 14: I wrote this book is because I'm working out issues
24:11
Speaker 14: in my own life Tony Hodge putting politics ahead of
24:15
Speaker 14: other things. And I give examples in the book. I
24:17
Speaker 14: don't want to give them all away because I want
24:18
Speaker 14: people to get the book, but I give examples in
24:20
Speaker 14: the book of how Tony Hodge has put politics ahead
24:23
Speaker 14: of his faith and how I'm working to reverse that.
24:27
Speaker 14: And I give examples of other people too, and there's
24:29
Speaker 14: a lot of a lot of local examples. I don't
24:31
Speaker 14: name names because I don't want to harm anybody, but
24:33
Speaker 14: I give a lot of local examples, and then I
24:34
Speaker 14: give a lot of historical examples, drawing on some of
24:38
Speaker 14: our founders, drawing on William Wilberforce, John Quincy Adams, even
24:44
Speaker 14: Abraham Lincoln.
24:45
Speaker 2: How did you go about writing the book? I mean,
24:47
Speaker 2: was it? Have you had this idea in your head,
24:49
Speaker 2: you know, for a long time, as one of those
24:51
Speaker 2: things where you just said, Okay, I'm going to write
24:53
Speaker 2: a book. Yeah, or I mean talk about arriving at
24:56
Speaker 2: the decision.
24:56
Speaker 14: Yeah, It's been in my head a long time, and
24:58
Speaker 14: I was talking with my family about it. As they
25:00
Speaker 14: read the book, they recognize a lot of the things
25:02
Speaker 14: I talk about in here.
25:04
Speaker 7: They've heard it all. They've heard all that.
25:05
Speaker 14: This isn't an idea that just came out of nowhere.
25:07
Speaker 14: This is something that's been there and brewing, and I've
25:10
Speaker 14: talked about for years and years and years, and you know,
25:13
Speaker 14: one day I just got inspired, I believe, by the
25:15
Speaker 14: Holy Spirit, to say, you know what, you need to
25:17
Speaker 14: just sit down and write these ideas out. And so
25:20
Speaker 14: that's what I did. And I sort of framed each
25:22
Speaker 14: chapter on a personal story or something that happened in
25:27
Speaker 14: my life, and so I would start out with that story,
25:29
Speaker 14: and then I would build each idea off of telling
25:32
Speaker 14: that story. And so in that way it was kind
25:34
Speaker 14: of easy to write. But now the writing process itself,
25:37
Speaker 14: I'm the type of guy. I have to sit down.
25:39
Speaker 14: You have to leave me alone. I can't have the
25:41
Speaker 14: TV on, I can't have text messages. I can differently,
25:44
Speaker 14: I have to sit down. And now, once I get going,
25:48
Speaker 14: I can get really creative and I can put out
25:49
Speaker 14: some work, you know, pretty quick, once I get going. Now,
25:53
Speaker 14: getting going, that's the hard part because some days you
25:56
Speaker 14: feel like, I don't want to sit down and do this.
25:57
Speaker 14: I don't want to do this, But then other days
25:59
Speaker 14: you feel inspired to do it and you want to
26:00
Speaker 14: sit down and do it. And so that's a little
26:02
Speaker 14: bit of how the process worked for me.
26:03
Speaker 2: Talk about the balance though between again we're talking with
26:06
Speaker 2: Tony Hodge, the balance between living a Christian life and
26:11
Speaker 2: being involved in politics, because I mean, politics is a
26:13
Speaker 2: dirty business. I mean you know that. I mean you've
26:16
Speaker 2: been in the trenches. You know it involves, especially with
26:19
Speaker 2: this and I'm not necessarily picking on Republicans because it
26:22
Speaker 2: could just easily have been Democrats, you know, twenty years ago.
26:25
Speaker 2: The things that we saw in the primary election, for example,
26:29
Speaker 2: I mean the people attacking people. And I'm not asking
26:32
Speaker 2: you to pick a side, but I mean you can
26:35
Speaker 2: understand where that could be a little bit of a
26:36
Speaker 2: conflict here, you know, between trying to live a good,
26:40
Speaker 2: as you say, a good Christian life and being involved
26:43
Speaker 2: in all this stuff. How do you walk that line?
26:45
Speaker 14: Yeah, that's a I'm glad you brought that point up.
26:48
Speaker 14: You are correct that politics it's not always a dirty business,
26:53
Speaker 14: but there's a lot of dirtiness and filth in it,
26:55
Speaker 14: and some people wallow in it.
26:57
Speaker 7: Wallow in the filth, I mean, and you know that's
26:59
Speaker 7: one thing.
27:00
Speaker 14: That's another thing that kind of inspired me to write,
27:03
Speaker 14: not only my own failings, the way that the way
27:05
Speaker 14: that I have done not I'm saying I've done dirty politics.
27:08
Speaker 14: Most people know me, you know my You know that
27:12
Speaker 14: I keep it. I try to keep it straight and clean.
27:15
Speaker 14: But I have noticed in a lot of my political
27:20
Speaker 14: circles that politicians they wear the Gospel like a costume.
27:24
Speaker 14: It's like a Halloween costume. They put it on when
27:27
Speaker 14: they go out here in public, and they make all
27:29
Speaker 14: their public statements, and they put out their little Facebook
27:31
Speaker 14: posts and you know, act like they're a big man
27:34
Speaker 14: or woman of faith, and you know, even maybe talk
27:38
Speaker 14: about going to church on Sunday or whatever, and that's fine,
27:41
Speaker 14: and that stuff speaks to me and it grabs my attention.
27:43
Speaker 14: And they do this stuff because it grabs attention. But
27:45
Speaker 14: then I've been in rooms with people, and I talk
27:48
Speaker 14: about this a lot in the book, being in rooms
27:50
Speaker 14: with people where decisions are made behind the scenes, political decisions,
27:53
Speaker 14: and you see how people operate, the way they talk
27:56
Speaker 14: about people, the way they scheme. Now, look, I'm not
27:59
Speaker 14: saying that strategies a part of politics. I am a
28:03
Speaker 14: very good strategist.
28:05
Speaker 7: I am. That's a gift I have.
28:07
Speaker 14: I'm a good political strategist, and I have people around
28:10
Speaker 14: me who are good political strategists. And I'm fine with
28:13
Speaker 14: doing strategy. I mean, you have to do that. I
28:14
Speaker 14: mean you know that, you know, we want a conservative
28:16
Speaker 14: majority on Republicans, that's what we want.
28:19
Speaker 7: But doing it the right way.
28:20
Speaker 14: And you'll have politics that will put the Gospel on
28:22
Speaker 14: as a costume in their public persona, and then they'll
28:25
Speaker 14: do some of the most cruel, despicable things behind the scenes.
28:27
Speaker 14: And the way they talk, the way they scheme and
28:31
Speaker 14: the filth that they want to do behind the scenes.
28:33
Speaker 14: It quite frankly makes me sick. And I'm around these
28:35
Speaker 14: people all the time. I won't name names, but I'm
28:37
Speaker 14: around them all the time. And they're local, they're national,
28:41
Speaker 14: they're everywhere, and it's bothersome. You know, like I said,
28:46
Speaker 14: you can't. You can do strategy and all that, but
28:49
Speaker 14: it's not really Dave. It's not really about policy. It's
28:52
Speaker 14: not about your political position.
28:55
Speaker 7: This book.
28:56
Speaker 14: I don't tell anyone in this book how to vote
28:58
Speaker 14: or even how they should think about their politics. I
29:01
Speaker 14: do admit that I come at it from a conservative perspective.
29:03
Speaker 14: I admit that right in the beginning of the book.
29:05
Speaker 14: But I don't tell people how they should vote. What
29:07
Speaker 14: I am trying to teach is how you should operate
29:11
Speaker 14: your character, what kind of character you should have as
29:14
Speaker 14: you operate in the political realm, and we need to
29:18
Speaker 14: elevate that.
29:19
Speaker 2: Book is called The Reversal, Reclaiming Christian Holiness in a
29:23
Speaker 2: Politicized Age.
29:24
Speaker 14: How's the podcast going. It's going really good. So I
29:26
Speaker 14: had an interesting podcast this last one. So West Virginia Watch.
29:31
Speaker 14: It's another media outlet. They had put out a story
29:33
Speaker 14: on the Washington Center having only one student enrolled in
29:37
Speaker 14: their program. I support the Washington Center. It's a legislative
29:41
Speaker 14: initiative that's put together to help teach more on our
29:47
Speaker 14: founding and our American ideals.
29:49
Speaker 7: So they did a report of only having one student.
29:51
Speaker 14: Well, I had already had doctor Patrick Lee Miller scheduled
29:54
Speaker 14: to come on my podcast. Yes, he's the head of
29:57
Speaker 14: he's the director of the Center at WU. He was
29:59
Speaker 14: hired in so he's trying to launch this brand new
30:02
Speaker 14: program and I had already had him schedule before this
30:05
Speaker 14: story ever came out, So I want to make that
30:06
Speaker 14: very clear. And we were just trying to connect our
30:09
Speaker 14: schedules because he was busy, you know, putting the program
30:11
Speaker 14: together and things like that. And so when this story
30:14
Speaker 14: came out about having one student, I said, let me
30:16
Speaker 14: reach back out to him. Maybe we can connect now,
30:17
Speaker 14: and it was a great time to connect. So then
30:19
Speaker 14: he came on the podcast and he really pushed back
30:23
Speaker 14: on that story, and he never refuted it because the
30:27
Speaker 14: facts are the facts.
30:28
Speaker 7: But he said he gave reasons.
30:30
Speaker 14: Here's why, here's why we have one student now, and
30:32
Speaker 14: why we're going to have more later, and he gave
30:34
Speaker 14: all these really good details and talked about the bureaucracy
30:38
Speaker 14: that he has to go through at WVU. And it
30:41
Speaker 14: doesn't matter what side of the aisle you're on. There's
30:44
Speaker 14: bureaucracy to go through and things you have to do
30:46
Speaker 14: in order to get these new courses in the course catalog.
30:49
Speaker 14: It's not just a matter of Okay, we're going to
30:51
Speaker 14: do this course and all of a sudden it's in
30:52
Speaker 14: the course catalog. All of these things have to be
30:54
Speaker 14: voted on, they have a faculty sent it up there.
30:56
Speaker 14: There's a lot of bureaucratic hurdles that have to happen
30:59
Speaker 14: in order for these new new classes to be into
31:04
Speaker 14: the course catalog. And so he explained all that to me,
31:06
Speaker 14: and there was there was a lot of other reasons
31:09
Speaker 14: why a brand new program takes a little while to
31:12
Speaker 14: take off, and he even cited other schools that have
31:14
Speaker 14: done this. There's other schools that have programs like this,
31:17
Speaker 14: and you know, it takes a little bit of time,
31:18
Speaker 14: and so he was able to come on and explain
31:20
Speaker 14: that in more detail. So I encourage the listeners. It's
31:23
Speaker 14: called a viewpoint with Tony Hodge. Look for the latest
31:25
Speaker 14: episode with Doctor Patrick Lee Miller, and he did tell
31:29
Speaker 14: me on the podcast you can listen to it.
31:31
Speaker 7: He did say.
31:32
Speaker 14: That what the West Virginia Watch reporter had had reached out,
31:37
Speaker 14: but he was advised not not to reply, and so
31:40
Speaker 14: he didn't reply. And so but if you want to
31:43
Speaker 14: hear his side of it, go and listen to that
31:45
Speaker 14: podcast and then and then you'll get both sides and
31:47
Speaker 14: you can decide by yourself, make up your own mind.
31:49
Speaker 2: I mean you can see, though, I mean, on the
31:51
Speaker 2: initial reporting where it would look look kind of suspect.
31:54
Speaker 2: I mean, you've got all this money going to you know,
31:57
Speaker 2: this center with one student. Not saying it's not going
31:59
Speaker 2: to grow, okay, but I'm saying, but you can see
32:02
Speaker 2: from a imagery standpoint where that wouldn't necessarily look great.
32:06
Speaker 7: Well, And I want to make something real clear.
32:08
Speaker 14: So on my Twitter, it's Tony m Hodge on Twitter,
32:11
Speaker 14: I had put out a tweet about my podcast with
32:15
Speaker 14: doctor Miller, and I had said on there that he
32:20
Speaker 14: pushes back against these reports about having one student. And
32:23
Speaker 14: then I said, you know how how it's kind of
32:26
Speaker 14: been made a mockery of the Washington Center at WU,
32:29
Speaker 14: which I disagree with, but that that was mistaken by
32:33
Speaker 14: a few people to mean that I was mocking the
32:35
Speaker 14: West Virginia Watch story. I wasn't really mocking that, because
32:39
Speaker 14: that was just that reporter was just reporting that, hey,
32:42
Speaker 14: there's one student enrolled. The mockery was everyone who used
32:47
Speaker 14: that report as their source material, and it went into
32:51
Speaker 14: national media.
32:52
Speaker 7: I mean you saw it.
32:53
Speaker 14: I mean People Magazine was reporting on it, Newsweek, Fox
32:56
Speaker 14: News did it, CNN did a thing on it, all
32:59
Speaker 14: these now national places. But they were using that story
33:03
Speaker 14: as their source material, as did I for my podcast
33:06
Speaker 14: when I was talking to doctor Miller. So it's not
33:09
Speaker 14: necessarily that that report was making a mockery.
33:13
Speaker 7: If you go back and read, they were just reporting
33:15
Speaker 7: that there was one student.
33:16
Speaker 14: Well okay, that's fine, But that was used as a
33:19
Speaker 14: source material to make a mockery of the Washington Center,
33:21
Speaker 14: which I have in strongly support. I think every higher
33:24
Speaker 14: education institution in America should have a program similar to
33:28
Speaker 14: what they're putting together at the Washington Center WVU, and
33:30
Speaker 14: I encourage the listeners to go and google the Washington
33:33
Speaker 14: Center at WVU and look at the coursework. It's actually really, really,
33:36
Speaker 14: really interesting. And doctor Miller and I got into a
33:39
Speaker 14: lot of the classes and talked about what they'll cover
33:42
Speaker 14: on the podcast, and you should go listen to it
33:43
Speaker 14: and check out the website.
33:44
Speaker 7: It's just really neat.
33:45
Speaker 2: Now you're going to go en roll in the Washington
33:47
Speaker 2: Center because you need something else to do.
33:48
Speaker 7: In your eyes, I might do it.
33:49
Speaker 2: I might do it.
33:50
Speaker 7: It is a promised scholarship available. No, I'm just.
33:52
Speaker 2: Kidding, Tony Hodge. Where can people get the book?
33:54
Speaker 15: All right?
33:55
Speaker 7: You can get the book on Amazon.
33:57
Speaker 14: You can get the book on Barnes and Noble's should
34:00
Speaker 14: be coming out to where you can get paper copies
34:03
Speaker 14: in our local bookstores. There will even be in books
34:05
Speaker 14: of Books a million very soon. They had an issue
34:08
Speaker 14: with the with getting the cover artwork proper. Get it
34:12
Speaker 14: lined up right. Anyway, it'll be in places like that.
34:14
Speaker 14: But you can go online and order it in all
34:15
Speaker 14: your major bookstore online places. It's the reversal by Tony M.
34:20
Speaker 7: Hodge.
34:21
Speaker 14: I was going to tell you got your name right right, Yes,
34:23
Speaker 14: you've had to look down. I was like, let me
34:24
Speaker 14: look down at my name is?
34:25
Speaker 2: Yeah? All right, Tony. I appreciate you be here.
34:27
Speaker 7: Man, absolutely, thanks for having me on.
34:28

Speaker 17: You may think speeding a little isn't really speeding, but
35:16
Speaker 17: even a few miles over the limit has consequences. First,
35:20
Speaker 17: there's the fine. Your first offense could cost you one
35:23
Speaker 17: hundred dollars plus court costs, and you'll pay a lot
35:26
Speaker 17: more if it's your second or third offense. Eventually you
35:28
Speaker 17: can lose your license or even go to jail. And
35:31
Speaker 17: those are minor consequences speeding causes ten thousand deaths each year.
35:36
Speaker 17: So next time you think a few miles over isn't
35:38
Speaker 17: a big deal, think again. This message is brought to
35:41
Speaker 17: you by the West Virginia Governor's Highway Safety Program.

Speaker 2: no relative to him or never heard of him. As
37:38
Speaker 2: God said, judge, not unless you be judge. Mankind forgot
37:41
Speaker 2: this long ago. Appreciate the text. You got the wrong print,
37:45
Speaker 2: though you named a local print guy. It's not that
37:48
Speaker 2: it's it's Elliot print, but I mean everybody's innocental proven guilty.
37:52
Speaker 2: One percent. I agree with that part. Text says, as
37:55
Speaker 2: someone who left the Democratic Party years ago because they
37:58
Speaker 2: allowed evil lunatics to start taking over, I got to
38:00
Speaker 2: tell the GOP to open up the primaries to independence again.
38:03
Speaker 2: Because you're getting a little bit too cocky in confidence
38:06
Speaker 2: of thinking that you won't be beaten. Look at how
38:08
Speaker 2: the GOP Congress is behaving. Look at the John Thune
38:12
Speaker 2: who refuses to bring up the Save Act for a vote.
38:14
Speaker 2: Make no mistake. As soon as the Democrats take control,
38:17
Speaker 2: they will abolish the filibuster. They will pack the Supreme Court.
38:20
Speaker 2: They will jump on statehood for Puerto Rico and Washington

38:39
Speaker 2: That's why he comes and does the show every Monday.
38:40
Speaker 2: If you've ever noticed that text, My college professors would
38:44
Speaker 2: fail me for turning in a paper using the phase
38:46
Speaker 2: really really really anything. So it's a texture, all right.
38:50
Speaker 2: Bring in a former mayor, former sheriff, former legislator, author, gravedigger, actor, restauranteur,
38:58
Speaker 2: and California guy Danny Jones.
39:00
Speaker 8: How you doing, my friend, I'm doing great. I'll tell
39:05
Speaker 8: you Sarah. You know, the boy's mother and Tara decided
39:11
Speaker 8: they were going to go to North Carolina to see
39:13
Speaker 8: his girlfriend.
39:14
Speaker 5: Huh.
39:15
Speaker 8: So I said, well, I'll show them. So I hopped
39:20
Speaker 8: a bird and came out west. But also I've had
39:24
Speaker 8: trouble finding somebody because I don't know my way around
39:29
Speaker 8: to work on my Cadillac. And I found somebody down
39:32
Speaker 8: Hunting and Beach and they are superstars. So that was
39:36
Speaker 8: the reason I came out here.
39:37
Speaker 2: Okay, because he always text you on Sunday just to
39:39
Speaker 2: make sure that you're good to go, and you said, yeah,
39:41
Speaker 2: but I'm in California. I was like, wait a minute,
39:43
Speaker 2: You're not supposed to be in California. You're supposed to
39:45
Speaker 2: be here. You slipped out of state on me.
39:47
Speaker 8: I'll be I think i'll be home the next three weeks.
39:50
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, So how are things in California?
39:53
Speaker 8: They're great, And I'll tell you it's just starting to
39:56
Speaker 8: get light here because we're three hours behind, and that
39:59
Speaker 8: means the fold of life in my part in my condo.
40:02
Speaker 8: You remember me telling you those inside the condo. If
40:06
Speaker 8: you watch the video, they're just starting to come on.
40:10
Speaker 2: Well, I was gonna say, you know, there're your three
40:11
Speaker 2: hours behind. So you're looking at six forty seven right now.
40:13
Speaker 2: So I appreciate you. You're you're an earlier like me. Man,
40:17
Speaker 2: You're an early riser. No matter what right.
40:18
Speaker 8: I was up. I was up in the Starbucks at
40:21
Speaker 8: four fifteen. I went down there and got some call
40:25
Speaker 8: Team Florid with the girls, and of course you did.
40:29
Speaker 8: They didn't believe. They didn't believe I knew Jennifer Garner,
40:31
Speaker 8: and I had to show them a picture.
40:33
Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, yeah, I mean here's what they here here.
40:36
Speaker 2: Let me tell you how you work this or your advantage.
40:40
Speaker 2: They should not believe that Jennifer Garner knows you, because
40:44
Speaker 2: you're a bigger deal with Jennifer Garner.
40:46
Speaker 8: No, that's not true, but I'll pay something. I loved
40:51
Speaker 8: her dad, and you know he passed, and she's got
40:53
Speaker 8: great parents and great sisters and she comes from her
40:57
Speaker 8: great family. And out of sorry about Billy, you know,
41:01
Speaker 8: her father pass and he was a great you know,
41:04
Speaker 8: he was a great man.
41:06
Speaker 2: We're talking to let me get this in there. We're
41:08
Speaker 2: talking to Danny Jones to Dave Island show in five

Speaker 2: Any Life brought to you in part by Morgan to
41:12
Speaker 2: Morgan in America's largest injury law firm. Didn't mean to
41:14
Speaker 2: interrupt you. You were talking about Billy.
41:15
Speaker 8: Go ahead, now, I just he was a great man. Hey,
41:18
Speaker 8: I love hearing Tony hallge I he He and I
41:23
Speaker 8: used to have breakfast together, or you know, lunch together
41:26
Speaker 8: a lot on Mondays. And we haven't done that in
41:29
Speaker 8: a while, and we're going to do it soon, so
41:31
Speaker 8: better get it act together.
41:34
Speaker 2: Well, he's an author, now, you know, he's like you.
41:37
Speaker 2: He's doing everything now he's an author.
41:40
Speaker 8: Well he'll probably sell some books though, Well, you sold
41:43
Speaker 8: some books. I sold quite a few books. I was
41:46
Speaker 8: very very fortunate. Hey, will you text me his info?
41:50
Speaker 2: I will. Yeah, Anthony gave me the message and I
41:52
Speaker 2: will as soon as I can't do two things in
41:54
Speaker 2: once Andandy, so once I get off the air, I will.
41:56
Speaker 2: I will definitely do that. Matter of fact, he's probably
41:59
Speaker 2: listening right now, and so I sent him a texture
42:01
Speaker 2: in the break and said, Hey, you need to connect
42:04
Speaker 2: with Danny. And so I'm sure. I mean, he and
42:05
Speaker 2: his son were here. Son's in the Air Force and
42:08
Speaker 2: he's in for on leave from Colorado and he brought
42:11
Speaker 2: his son, who I've known him for a number of years.
42:13
Speaker 2: Hayden is a fine young man and as his brother Lennon,
42:16
Speaker 2: they both both fine young men, despite who the father was. Uh,
42:20
Speaker 2: I'm kidding, but yeah, we'll make sure we hook you
42:23
Speaker 2: two up. Hey, I got a text here for you, Danny.
42:25
Speaker 2: Somebody needs your help with something you ready for this
42:28
Speaker 2: jo It says this is for Danny. I have an
42:30
Speaker 2: old pickup truck but I'd like to have restored from
42:33
Speaker 2: the ground up. He said he was restoring his race card.
42:36
Speaker 2: Does he have any recommendations on a shop that I
42:40
Speaker 2: could use.
42:42
Speaker 8: JP Auto Repair over on Russell Street.
42:49
Speaker 2: I'm replying to them as we JP Auto Repair.
42:54

42:59
Speaker 8: and tell him, tell them I said to.
43:00
Speaker 2: You, there you go. It's all about networking. Danny. Hey,
43:03
Speaker 2: we got to take a break and I got some
43:05
Speaker 2: things I want to go over with you in the news,

45:37
Speaker 2: I want to ask you about some polling that came
45:39
Speaker 2: out recently. And some of this polling I'm gonna mention
45:41
Speaker 2: was done by Fox News. All right, So if anybody
45:44
Speaker 2: says I don't believe the polls whatever, okay, that you're right.
45:47
Speaker 2: But some of the pollings was done by Fox News.
45:49
Speaker 2: Kind of a composity.
45:50
Speaker 8: Everybody's quoting them. You're right, You're right, right, right.
45:53
Speaker 2: No, I was just going to tell you seventy percent
45:56
Speaker 2: of all of all Americans are unhappy with the way
45:59
Speaker 2: the president handling the economy. Is that problematic going into
46:02
Speaker 2: the midterms.
46:04
Speaker 8: Absolutely, And the problem with the president is and now
46:11
Speaker 8: people have different views on this. So I accept your
46:15
Speaker 8: views enough. I'd like for you to at least give me.
46:19
Speaker 8: Let's try to listen to mine. He's not a good communicator.
46:24
Speaker 8: I mean he should get on TV and very softly,
46:26
Speaker 8: like Reagan used to do, or Ford or somebody like that,
46:30
Speaker 8: explain to people the history of what's going on and
46:36
Speaker 8: why we're doing this in Iran and these negotiations. The
46:44
Speaker 8: people doing the negotiations on the Iran's behalf, they don't
46:48
Speaker 8: speak for the Molas. There's no reason to be negotiating
46:52
Speaker 8: with these people. They need to be eviscerated, and they
46:56
Speaker 8: need to be It needs to go quickly because the
46:58
Speaker 8: American people have demonstrated time after time after time they
47:03
Speaker 8: have no patients for war.
47:05
Speaker 2: Well, and especially when it comes from a president who
47:08
Speaker 2: said point blank no new wars. And look, there's nobody
47:13
Speaker 2: I don't you're going to find if there's very few
47:15
Speaker 2: people that are going to think the idea of a
47:18
Speaker 2: nuclear iron is a good idea. You know, Republican democrat,
47:21
Speaker 2: I mean I think liberal conservative, I think most people
47:23
Speaker 2: would agree with that. But he did say no new wars.
47:26
Speaker 2: He did say that it was going to be, and
47:27
Speaker 2: he and others said it was going to be a
47:29
Speaker 2: matter of a couple of weeks, maybe a month. Here
47:30
Speaker 2: we are several months later, and there's no sign that
47:32
Speaker 2: we're getting anywhere in this thing, Danny.
47:35
Speaker 8: And I'm out here paying well, I got to rent
47:39
Speaker 8: on looks time. But I'm out here paying you know,
47:42
Speaker 8: in the cattle. I pay almost six dollars a gallon
47:45
Speaker 8: for gas, and I can afford it. But I understand it.
47:51
Speaker 8: I actually support what he's doing. I just don't like
47:53
Speaker 8: the way he's doing it.
47:55
Speaker 2: What would you do differently, Danny? What would you do differently?
48:00
Speaker 8: Remember the governor of Alabama named George Wallace. You got
48:05
Speaker 8: to put the hay down where the ghosts can get it.
48:08
Speaker 8: That's what you gotta. I mean, you really have to.
48:14
Speaker 8: Like when they had that funeral for that, I told
48:17
Speaker 8: one that had been that was a missed opportunity.
48:21
Speaker 2: So you would have just you'd have went in while
48:23
Speaker 2: the funeral was going on.
48:25
Speaker 8: Absolutely, these people are enemies. They are out to kill us.
48:30
Speaker 8: They killed their own people, most of the people, and
48:33
Speaker 8: they ran like us. If they had their way, they'd
48:38
Speaker 8: have reason Plavi back there, the Shaw Sung and Carter
48:44
Speaker 8: is you know, partly there's so much blame in this now.
48:48
Speaker 8: When Reagan was president, the whole eight years of Rock
48:53
Speaker 8: and Iran were in a war. But we have we
48:56
Speaker 8: have allowed this to happen. We have allowed them to
48:59
Speaker 8: grow into a power and a terrorist state. We have
49:05
Speaker 8: allowed this to happen. President after president has allowed this
49:09
Speaker 8: to happen. Assume some battle. I just don't like the
49:12
Speaker 8: way it's doing well.
49:13
Speaker 2: And there would be those that you know, said in
49:15
Speaker 2: the beginning that what they hope is is that the
49:17
Speaker 2: Iranian people would rise up. That didn't happen. And quite frankly,
49:21
Speaker 2: if I.
49:21
Speaker 8: Did, David, they did. They killed twenty and forty thousand
49:25
Speaker 8: of them.
49:25
Speaker 2: Well that's what I was going to say. I mean,
49:27
Speaker 2: if I am part of the Iranian population, I'm going
49:30
Speaker 2: to go, Yeah, this ain't such a good idea.
49:32
Speaker 8: Right, Hey, yeah, Can I comment on the charges against
49:36
Speaker 8: the Pretzels.
49:37
Speaker 2: You can? You can, and remember everybody's innosential proven guilty,
49:40
Speaker 2: So go ahead.
49:41
Speaker 8: Well there's a presumption of this, right exactly exactly. But
49:48
Speaker 8: these are very serious charges.
49:50
Speaker 2: Yes they are.
49:52
Speaker 8: I just read about them, and it's multiple occasions with
49:59
Speaker 8: a fifteen year old, and a fifteen year old does
50:02
Speaker 8: not have the ability to give consent. And West Virginia's
50:08
Speaker 8: pretty liberal on this. At sixteen, they did even though
50:11
Speaker 8: he was he was a parental capacity because he was
50:16
Speaker 8: a teacher. But at fifteen years old, it's right, and
50:25
Speaker 8: these are federal charges. He's in prison, and the best
50:29
Speaker 8: thing he could do for himself is to resign because
50:34
Speaker 8: that would help take the attention off of him.
50:38
Speaker 2: Right, And there are there are speculation that that is
50:42
Speaker 2: going to happen, but as of now, it's not. And
50:43
Speaker 2: everybody from Speaker Hanshaw, you know, to the governor. You
50:46
Speaker 2: just heard Tony Hodge on the show saying that at
50:49
Speaker 2: the state Republican Party meeting in Charleston this week, they
50:52
Speaker 2: are going to do something that I don't know what
50:54
Speaker 2: they've done in the past, and that is they're going
50:56
Speaker 2: to present a letter signed by eighty five Republicans basically
50:59
Speaker 2: disavow their selves from him.
51:02
Speaker 8: Well, somebody needs to have a talk with him, and
51:08
Speaker 8: I'm sure he confides in somebody, and but it's in
51:13
Speaker 8: his interest and now I'd like to see him go,
51:17
Speaker 8: but it's none of my I mean, really I don't
51:19
Speaker 8: have any involved en up there anymore. But it's it's
51:23
Speaker 8: it's in his interest, his interest to resign.
51:28
Speaker 1: All right.
51:29
Speaker 2: Well, before we let you go, Danny, we had a
51:31
Speaker 2: question and says, is Danny voting in both states West
51:34
Speaker 2: Virginia and California. Obviously you're not.
51:37
Speaker 8: No, I'm not. I'm not a resident out here. I'm
51:39
Speaker 8: a resident. Back on, Hey, another person you might contact
51:44
Speaker 8: on that car if jp Auto can't do it. I
51:48
Speaker 8: don't know if Hudson's still in business in Marmatt He
51:50
Speaker 8: did cars for me, so but no, no, Mad's being
51:55
Speaker 8: done by jp OTO.
51:57
Speaker 2: All right, I got him the information. Hey, Danny, so,
52:00
Speaker 2: are you gonna be back with me next week? Is
52:01
Speaker 2: that right? Unless you decide to suddenly jet off again.
52:05
Speaker 8: No, I'll be in the studio.
52:06
Speaker 2: Okay, in the studio next week. Danny Jones appreciated as always,
52:10
Speaker 2: you been here, my friend.
52:10
Speaker 8: Thanks a lot, Thank you.
52:12
Speaker 2: Danny Jones living it up in California. Can't keep a
52:16
Speaker 2: good man in West Virginia. He just on the plane
52:18
Speaker 2: had nothing count four all right, speaking a good man,
52:22
Speaker 2: one of them is a pretty good guy. That's Meadows.
52:24
Speaker 2: I don't know about that. Wilson Fellow. They're coming up
