- 1:53Speaker 2: Saw Superman again.
- 1:54Speaker 4: That's what I was about to bring up.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I had, I had not such a great week,
- 1:59Speaker 2: not such a great week at work. You know, got
- 2:05Speaker 2: got into it with one of the bosses at work
- 2:09Speaker 2: on Monday, and uh to Tuesday and Wednesday off you know,
- 2:15Speaker 2: mental health days, personal days. Came back for Thursday and Friday,
- 2:21Speaker 2: and on Friday, I put in a vacation slip and
- 2:25Speaker 2: I'm taking the next I'm taking the full week off
- 2:28Speaker 2: next week. So but you know, no huge vacation plans,
- 2:34Speaker 2: just not going to work. We might we might, yeah,
- 2:37Speaker 2: we might do a day trip or or do a
- 2:40Speaker 2: you know, one or two overnight trip somewhere, but nothing,
- 2:44Speaker 2: nothing solid yet. That's it. That's all. Maybe we'll come
- 2:49Speaker 2: to Post Falls.
- 2:50Speaker 4: I know, I'm check it out. Yeah it was most
- 3:00Speaker 4: uh Lauren City in Idaho.
- 3:02Speaker 2: So I need some boring right about now?
- 3:05Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, yeah enough.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah, so Superman. We saw Superman. Uh saw Superman again.
- 3:12Speaker 2: This week, went to like went to like a ten
- 3:15Speaker 2: am showing of It was great.
- 3:17Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 3:18Speaker 2: It was great. You know, my son sucking on slurpies
- 3:21Speaker 2: and eat candy. It's not even new and yet it
- 3:23Speaker 2: was awesome.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Oh you must have loved that.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, it was good. And and this coming
- 3:29Speaker 2: week Fantastic four comes out, so we're probably going to
- 3:32Speaker 2: see it Thursday afternoon. Kay.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm to that one too, Yeah yeah, I let's see.
- 3:44Speaker 4: This week has been pretty busy for me. A lot
- 3:46Speaker 4: of work. We've been slammed at work. It's kind of crazy. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:53Speaker 4: I really thought we would be slower this time of year,
- 3:56Speaker 4: but we're not. So yeah, it's fine. And then yeah,
- 4:02Speaker 4: and everything else is good.
- 4:03Speaker 2: So you know, well, I mean, if you're slammed, they
- 4:06Speaker 2: need you, so that's always you know, when when when
- 4:12Speaker 2: employees are sitting around looking at each other to Linden thumbs,
- 4:17Speaker 2: you know, you start wondering, like, hey, do they need
- 4:19Speaker 2: all of us? Who's going to be the first to go?
- 4:22Speaker 4: Yea the great Gorn Morning lads.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Gordon morning, Gordon, morning to you as well. Oh last
- 4:33Speaker 2: night last night for dinner, uh yeah, Cornish game ends
- 4:38Speaker 2: delicious night, right, So you know, if you have any
- 4:48Speaker 2: Gordon puns, feel free to put them up in the chat.
- 4:51Speaker 2: No matter what we're doing, no matter what we're doing,
- 4:53Speaker 2: we will stop.
- 4:55Speaker 4: That's right them right awesome well let's uh, let's get
- 5:01Speaker 4: to the news. There's all sorts of craziness do it,
- 5:05Speaker 4: but let's start with this one.
- 5:11Speaker 2: All right, what's up with? What's up with?
- 5:18Speaker 4: It's okay, comes just from NBC News and uh, Paramount
- 5:23Speaker 4: Bitter sky Dance plays patriotism card and I pushed to
- 5:27Speaker 4: U for the deal. Okay, So basically, what's his name
- 5:32Speaker 4: is it? Scott Ellison? Oh, David Ellison? Okay, he is
- 5:37Speaker 4: the head of sky Dance and apparently he met with
- 5:40Speaker 4: the FCC chairman earlier this week, and it's basically saying like, hey,
- 5:46Speaker 4: we've done everything he wanted. Everything is all the paperwork's done.
- 5:52Speaker 4: You know, we settled our lawsuits. We're good to go.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Let's let's get this thing done. And we don't have
- 6:01Speaker 4: a final yet. You know, he's got time to respond
- 6:04Speaker 4: to that. But yeah, yeah, skuy Dance's pushing man. They
- 6:07Speaker 4: want this thing over.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, there's all kinds of craziness out there now.
- 6:14Speaker 2: So I don't know if you saw they canceled the
- 6:16Speaker 2: Stephen Colbert's show, and everybody's like, ah, Trump had him canceled.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Trump had him canceled.
- 6:23Speaker 4: It's like, come on, stop, Well the thing I've I've
- 6:27Speaker 4: been looking at. I looked at a couple of the
- 6:29Speaker 4: trades in Hollywood, and they think it's a two birds,
- 6:33Speaker 4: one stone kind of situation that that probably helped things
- 6:36Speaker 4: because he's such a critic of Trump. But really the
- 6:40Speaker 4: reality is that Late Show was like operating at like
- 6:44Speaker 4: one hundred million dollars a year.
- 6:46Speaker 2: They're all, they're all, they're all operating at a loss.
- 6:49Speaker 2: It's a failing it's a failing model, and don't watch anymore.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Right So, even though technically he was the highest rate
- 6:59Speaker 4: of them, all of them, which he really was, it's
- 7:04Speaker 4: just it didn't it didn't help, Like it just was.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's that. That just means like you're the
- 7:10Speaker 2: best of the losers. That's all.
- 7:11Speaker 4: That's all that means exactly. And the other thing that
- 7:14Speaker 4: he has against him is like the other ones, like
- 7:18Speaker 4: Kimmel and Jimmy Fallen, they do really good on social media,
- 7:23Speaker 4: like their clips get get shaved on on YouTube and everything,
- 7:26Speaker 4: whereas Colbert really doesn't have that.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got him.
- 7:31Speaker 4: I mean, you can find his clips, but they don't.
- 7:33Speaker 4: The numbers are not there compared to the other guys.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I have to be honest with you, I've never I've
- 7:39Speaker 2: never watched him on the Late Show. I used to
- 7:41Speaker 2: watch The Colbert before all the time, and I know
- 7:46Speaker 2: on that show he was playing a character. He wasn't
- 7:50Speaker 2: Stephen Colbert. He was Stephen Colbert playing Stephen Colbert on
- 7:56Speaker 2: this show. Is it the is it the same thing?
- 7:59Speaker 5: No?
- 7:59Speaker 4: No, No, he's himself. Which that was always weird in the beginning.
- 8:04Speaker 4: And I mean, I don't watch the show every now
- 8:06Speaker 4: and then. I'll see a clip like every great once
- 8:09Speaker 4: in a while.
- 8:10Speaker 2: But because I remember watching The Colbertpoor and thinking and
- 8:15Speaker 2: thinking from time to time, the stupid people aren't gonna
- 8:20Speaker 2: know that he's playing a character. Stupid people are gonna
- 8:24Speaker 2: are gonna think that he's legit.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think that was part of the joke.
- 8:29Speaker 4: But whatever.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 4: So anyways, the other thing too, is like he's got
- 8:34Speaker 4: what like half a year or more to be around
- 8:38Speaker 4: before the show really goes away. It's not like he's
- 8:40Speaker 4: done done, like I think it's next may or March
- 8:44Speaker 4: or I don't know whatever it is.
- 8:45Speaker 2: That and if the if the company changes hands, I
- 8:49Speaker 2: mean they're not they're not bound by that. If the
- 8:51Speaker 2: company changes hands. Now it's the new new people controlling things, right. Yeah,
- 8:56Speaker 2: you know what, We're not gonna, We're gonna, we're gonna continue,
- 8:59Speaker 2: We're gonna we're gonna read up the show and pivot.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, so who knows.
- 9:09Speaker 2: It's like that's I mean, TV TV in general, broadcast
- 9:15Speaker 2: television is just a thing of the past at this point. Yeah,
- 9:20Speaker 2: it's just kind of like hanging on. I can't tell
- 9:24Speaker 2: you the last time I watched like live television, live
- 9:29Speaker 2: broadcast television.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Well, I can tell you the last time I watched
- 9:34Speaker 4: it New Years.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Last Sunday. What was happening? Okay, So that's that's that's
- 9:43Speaker 2: the that's actually the exception is sports, Yeah, is sports,
- 9:47Speaker 2: But for everything else, you know, between I mean, I
- 9:51Speaker 2: don't know do people even are DVR is still a thing.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I don't even know. I don't even have a DVR anymore.
- 9:58Speaker 2: It's so weird. And I don't know what year is this.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I don't even know that, right, I don't know.
- 10:05Speaker 4: All right, other time, we'll get to the next story. Yes, okay,
- 10:09Speaker 4: our next story comes to us from the movie Blog,
- 10:13Speaker 4: and we are learning a little bit more about the
- 10:16Speaker 4: failed attempt at Star Trek four. Yeah, this was Matt.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Matt Schackman's Star Trek four was set to go into
- 10:25Speaker 4: production in twenty twenty two. If you don't know Matt Chackman,
- 10:29Speaker 4: the director of The Fantastic Four, because.
- 10:35Speaker 2: You're cutting out, pal, you're all kinds of muffled.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Can you hear me? Hello?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yes?
- 10:41Speaker 4: Okay, So Matt Schackman is the director of The Fantastic Four.
- 10:46Speaker 4: So that's what we're hearing about this now, because yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 4: So he was set to produce Star Trek four in
- 10:52Speaker 4: twenty twenty two. The whole crew was all lined up.
- 10:56Speaker 4: It was going to be a script featuring George Kirk
- 11:00Speaker 4: as originally portrayed by Chris Hamsworth. Nowhere in the story
- 11:03Speaker 4: does it say for sure that Chris Hemsers would be back,
- 11:07Speaker 4: although they do allude to it. So mhm. But the
- 11:12Speaker 4: idea was, sets were built, crews were put in place,
- 11:16Speaker 4: they were ready to go, and then he got the
- 11:19Speaker 4: offer for Fantastic four and he bounced. He's like, I
- 11:23Speaker 4: don't need this. Yeah. So apparently jj AMers really loved
- 11:28Speaker 4: the script. It was gonna do like a soft reboot
- 11:32Speaker 4: with the whole Star Trek franchise. Everyone loved it, ready
- 11:35Speaker 4: to go and after he after he left for Marvel,
- 11:41Speaker 4: it just all fell apart. So huh yeah, that's how
- 11:47Speaker 4: close we were.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I'm fine with it. Yeah, you know, at this point
- 11:54Speaker 2: it's a it's a it's a it's a small branch
- 11:59Speaker 2: off the sec.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Timeline exactly exactly, so what could have been? So yeah, yeah,
- 12:07Speaker 4: there you go. All right, and our last news story
- 12:11Speaker 4: comes to us from entertainment tonight. Let's see if this
- 12:14Speaker 4: will let me play it? Yeah, yeah, I think that's
- 12:19Speaker 4: an interview Rebecca Romaine and uh, here we go. I'll
- 12:25Speaker 4: see what I'll let me play it.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Rebecca, how is it all for you to step back
- 12:31Speaker 2: into the role of the Steak. It's been incredibly fun.
- 12:36Speaker 4: It's a real and uh wonderful to be with my
- 12:39Speaker 4: old cast as well as a new cast.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Rebecca told us she's been spending up to seven hours
- 12:44Speaker 2: a day in the makeup chair to get those scales
- 12:46Speaker 2: applied currently in production.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Did you ever think all these days let you be back?
- 12:52Speaker 2: Never in a million years now.
- 12:54Speaker 6: I was laughing because, like Jerry O'Connell, Rebecca's husband has
- 12:57Speaker 6: this great picture of like him dressing up his mystique
- 12:59Speaker 6: at a convey and he had that they were announcing
- 13:03Speaker 6: is coming back with Mistique.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Doomsday comes out December twenty twenty six, but you can
- 13:08Speaker 2: see Rebecca and season three of Star Trek Strange New
- 13:10Speaker 2: Worlds on Paramount Plus.
- 13:12Speaker 5: It's already renewed for it.
- 13:14Speaker 4: There we go.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah, just December twenty twenty six, so we're still a
- 13:19Speaker 2: year and a half out. Yeah from this thing whis
- 13:24Speaker 2: Oh my god, my son will be in high school
- 13:26Speaker 2: for the time this fee cups out.
- 13:30Speaker 4: And if there's a delay, maybe he'll drive you to
- 13:31Speaker 4: the theater. Oh my lord, Yeah, that's possible.
- 13:37Speaker 2: You know. You know, the MCU is going to be
- 13:42Speaker 2: twenty years old at that point. Let's move forward with start.
- 13:48Speaker 2: He wants us to stop talking about the MCU. Is
- 13:51Speaker 2: that what he means? No, No, No, we're talking about
- 13:53Speaker 2: the He's stuck about Star Trek four.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I'm just and he didn't have whales.
- 14:01Speaker 4: I didn't see any mention of whales.
- 14:02Speaker 2: And that's so I'm disappointed. There wasn't a Gordon pun
- 14:08Speaker 2: in the last post.
- 14:09Speaker 4: That's true, man, do better.
- 14:13Speaker 2: You're you're supposed to be somebody around here. Pull your weight, right.
- 14:19Speaker 4: These people not feeling gorny.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Do I make you gorny do? I?
- 14:30Speaker 4: Oh no, sorry, all right, well let's uh, let's let's
- 14:36Speaker 4: get to our main topic then, because we got two
- 14:38Speaker 4: episodes of review, here we go, fine, will now come out? So?
- 14:49Speaker 4: Oh awaiting game? Good? God? The m c U is
- 14:53Speaker 4: that old? I have to admit I stopped watching After
- 14:56Speaker 4: Age of Ultron What it was still good? Then?
- 15:02Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 15:04Speaker 4: Yeah, Hey, everyone's different, that's fine. Maybe maybe he was
- 15:09Speaker 4: watching other films like I don't know, Mission Impossible, people
- 15:16Speaker 4: like those two. So all right, So we had two
- 15:19Speaker 4: episodes of Strange in the Worlds after nearly two years
- 15:26Speaker 4: of waiting for season three?
- 15:29Speaker 2: Is that? How long is that? How long it's been? Yeah?
- 15:32Speaker 4: It was like it was like August twenty let me
- 15:37Speaker 4: see what, Yeah, it was nearly two years. I remember
- 15:40Speaker 4: looking that up.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Oh my yeah, okay, I didn't realize it was that long.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I thought it was but.
- 15:47Speaker 4: No, no, no, it was like two years. It was crazy.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Huh.
- 15:52Speaker 4: So we had two episodes imagining or Emogenie I can
- 15:56Speaker 4: never pronounce this word, Part two and then Wedding bell Blues.
- 16:00Speaker 4: So I figured we'll take them when at a time.
- 16:04Speaker 4: The first one is basically the second part of the
- 16:08Speaker 4: cliffhanger from two years ago. We're finally the alien borg Born.
- 16:17Speaker 4: We have part of the crew trapped on a Born
- 16:19Speaker 4: ship and then the rest of the Enterprise crew is
- 16:22Speaker 4: trying to figure out a way to stop the bourn.
- 16:26Speaker 4: We even had Scottie on the show, which was kind
- 16:29Speaker 4: of great. Oh god, Chads was Chad was still a
- 16:35Speaker 4: co host back then. That's aw long ago it was.
- 16:40Speaker 4: That's right, that's true.
- 16:42Speaker 2: That's true. Yeah, that's true.
- 16:46Speaker 4: So, uh, the thing I'm looking out for right now
- 16:50Speaker 4: is so I get these The graphics you guys are
- 16:53Speaker 4: seeing right now are provided to us by Paramount. I
- 16:57Speaker 4: go to one of their pure websites and that's where
- 16:58Speaker 4: I get them. But what I've noticed is every year,
- 17:02Speaker 4: doesn't matter what the show is, as the season goes,
- 17:06Speaker 4: we get less and less photos per episode. Yeah, so
- 17:09Speaker 4: right now we're averaging about like twenty five photos per episode.
- 17:12Speaker 4: It's gonna drop down to about like four or five
- 17:15Speaker 4: just as it moves alone. As the interest that Wayne's
- 17:20Speaker 4: the numbers the photos dropped, so yeah, yeah, and then
- 17:25Speaker 4: they're also out of order, so they're whatever. Yeah, but still,
- 17:29Speaker 4: what did you think of the episode? It's was it
- 17:32Speaker 4: worth a two year weight.
- 17:34Speaker 2: I gotta I gotta watch it again. I gotta be
- 17:36Speaker 2: honest to watch it again. It's it did not hold
- 17:42Speaker 2: my interest the way it should have. Okay, it's probably
- 17:49Speaker 2: because I didn't go back and watch the first part first.
- 17:53Speaker 2: I probably should have. I probably should have done that, right,
- 17:58Speaker 2: but you know, I wasn't on the edge of my seat, like, yeah,
- 18:04Speaker 2: as it gonna is it gonna resolve? You know? It's
- 18:07Speaker 2: no best of both worlds? Part two definitely not. But again,
- 18:13Speaker 2: like I said, I I should really go back and
- 18:15Speaker 2: rewatch the first part and then watch it again. And
- 18:18Speaker 2: I just didn't have time to do that. I thought,
- 18:25Speaker 2: for sure, uh, is it Patel Patel? What's what's the
- 18:30Speaker 2: other captain's saying? His girlfriend? Yeah? I really thought captain
- 18:38Speaker 2: girlfriend was was toast.
- 18:41Speaker 4: I love them.
- 18:43Speaker 2: I thought I thought otagis Yeah. I thought yeah, I
- 18:51Speaker 2: thought we were gonna lose her. And then I'm starting
- 18:53Speaker 2: to think, I'm like, oh, what did I What did
- 18:55Speaker 2: I guess in the predictions the week before? I couldn't remember.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I couldn't remember. Yeah, And then you know, the next episode,
- 19:06Speaker 2: she's fine with them. At the end of the episode,
- 19:09Speaker 2: maybe she's not so well, I guess we'll talk about
- 19:11Speaker 2: that when we talk about the next episode. Yeah, excuse me, pardon.
- 19:18Speaker 4: So we had a couple listeners already right in, So
- 19:23Speaker 4: dog Green said, after all the doom and gloom reports
- 19:26Speaker 4: coming out from those few episodes, you know, a few
- 19:30Speaker 4: weeks earlier, wasn't expecting much. But honestly, both episodes were
- 19:33Speaker 4: solid and Kevin Streky I was very pleased with episode one.
- 19:40Speaker 4: It's structured very well. They do it. When they do
- 19:44Speaker 4: it right, it works well. Episode two looks amazing, the
- 19:47Speaker 4: circular argument that leads nowhere while being coy, so mixed
- 19:52Speaker 4: bag for Yeah, I liked it, man, I I don't
- 20:01Speaker 4: love it. I'm not like over the Moon or anything
- 20:03Speaker 4: like that, but I think it was solid. I thought
- 20:08Speaker 4: that there was a few times where where like they
- 20:12Speaker 4: they look at each other, some of the characters, and
- 20:16Speaker 4: I really thought, oh God, here comes the big long
- 20:20Speaker 4: let's talk about our feelings in the middle of a
- 20:22Speaker 4: giant I felt it right, And they didn't. They just
- 20:28Speaker 4: dealt with the prises and and you know, and and
- 20:31Speaker 4: and you could tell there was emotion there, just like
- 20:35Speaker 4: in the older episodes, just like you know, it was
- 20:38Speaker 4: underlying tension and the way it should be like narrative storytelling, and.
- 20:44Speaker 2: So so I did like that they're doing a little,
- 20:48Speaker 2: uh backstory building with Scotty. It looks like this, this
- 20:53Speaker 2: Scotty is is clearly not the Scotty that we that
- 20:58Speaker 2: we know already. And it looks like, as much as
- 21:03Speaker 2: I can't stand her character, it looks like Pellya is
- 21:06Speaker 2: going to be bolding him into the character that we know.
- 21:13Speaker 2: We see that he he he made that machine work
- 21:17Speaker 2: in the past, but didn't bother the taking any notes.
- 21:19Speaker 2: So he did it, doesn't know how to do it again,
- 21:22Speaker 2: and she's lecturing him about that. And then when Pike
- 21:26Speaker 2: wants to know when it's going to be up and running,
- 21:28Speaker 2: he has no idea, and she just says he'll be
- 21:33Speaker 2: ready as soon as you need it, which is a
- 21:37Speaker 2: clearly a Scotty thing. You know, they've established that they
- 21:42Speaker 2: established in TG relics that excuse me that he was
- 21:47Speaker 2: pretty much just full of ship every time we had
- 21:49Speaker 2: seen him before that that he had he had either
- 21:52Speaker 2: he had said it would take three hours when he
- 21:54Speaker 2: knew it would take one or whatever. So yeah, I'm
- 22:00Speaker 2: kind of interested in seeing.
- 22:04Speaker 4: They're saying your mic is cutting really bad?
- 22:06Speaker 2: Oh awesome? Yeah, how's that? Is that any better?
- 22:12Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 22:14Speaker 2: Okay, so yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing his his
- 22:18Speaker 2: character grows into the character that we know.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Yeah, what do you think of this actor that's playing
- 22:24Speaker 4: Scotty now that we've finally seeing a little bit more
- 22:26Speaker 4: of them.
- 22:28Speaker 2: He's pretty good. Yeah, he's pretty good. He's got the
- 22:31Speaker 2: accident down. Yeah. He doesn't seem to me like he's
- 22:36Speaker 2: playing James dohand he doesn't seem to me that he's
- 22:42Speaker 2: playing Simon Pegg. He seems to me that he's playing Scotty. Yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 2: the younger version of Scotty. And I think that's probably
- 22:50Speaker 2: uh for the best. Yeah, I can't remember which. I
- 22:55Speaker 2: think this was in the next episode, but uh no,
- 22:59Speaker 2: maybe it was that. Yeah, I don't know. I feel
- 23:01Speaker 2: like they are introducing some more contemporary things into this
- 23:09Speaker 2: version of Star Truck. He orders two pints of guinness. Yeah,
- 23:14Speaker 2: any this episode or the next episode.
- 23:18Speaker 4: You might need to reset. It's your audio is going on.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Yeah, alright, sorry reset, It's all right, Yeah, all.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Right, Well we're waiting for Dan. So yeah, so this episode,
- 23:34Speaker 4: Scotty and and I forget her name, the other the
- 23:38Speaker 4: main engineer. They have to build this contraption that will
- 23:42Speaker 4: basically make the enterprise invisible to the corn. So they're
- 23:49Speaker 4: working on it. You can see the picture that I
- 23:51Speaker 4: have up that's like their contraption that they're working on
- 23:54Speaker 4: somehow plugging it into the enterprises systems and so that'll
- 23:59Speaker 4: get them through the corns like security systems. Meanwhile, while
- 24:05Speaker 4: that's going on, Spock and and UH and Nurse Chapel
- 24:11Speaker 4: are working to get rid of a gorn eggs. I
- 24:16Speaker 4: guess inside of Captain Hotel Uh Pike's girlfriend is what
- 24:21Speaker 4: it's listening on on Wikipedia. So that doesn't help. So
- 24:25Speaker 4: if you guys know the name of a captain girlfriend,
- 24:27Speaker 4: please tell us in the chat. But so, yeah, so
- 24:32Speaker 4: they're working, they're working to get that going there is
- 24:37Speaker 4: hey so okay, yeah, so I'm at the point where
- 24:41Speaker 4: we're talking about Uh, Spock and Nurse Chapel. We're going
- 24:45Speaker 4: to get rid of the corn inside of captain girlfriend.
- 24:49Speaker 4: And they use drugs. Drugs are good. GID apparently is
- 24:55Speaker 4: what we learn. I forget what what drug they called it,
- 25:00Speaker 4: but this is sort of narcotic they said, yeah, yeah,
- 25:05Speaker 4: which was funny to me.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Yeah, so they gave her like space math.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Right the day. Maybe, Yeah, dude, I gotta say this
- 25:17Speaker 4: Gordon set where they're on the Gordon ship and there's
- 25:19Speaker 4: all the like the I don't know, the organic stuff
- 25:23Speaker 4: I'm there. I really like this set.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I thought it was yeah, yeah, I thought it was
- 25:29Speaker 2: cool how they acquired their weapons. This is basically a
- 25:32Speaker 2: digestion chamber. Yeah, being digested, and so those are intestines
- 25:37Speaker 2: that they and they found the they found the anus.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Everything you can't get digested. Kids pooped out over here,
- 25:46Speaker 2: and oh look there's a plasma rifle in here. Yeah,
- 25:48Speaker 2: you can't eat a plasma rifle. That's silly. Let's uh,
- 25:52Speaker 2: let's wipe the poop off of it and use it
- 25:55Speaker 2: to escape. Kind of gross, but kind of cool the same.
- 26:00Speaker 4: It's it's an interesting idea. I liked it.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Yeah, And even even looking at them and and their
- 26:06Speaker 2: their injuries, you could see that some of them were
- 26:09Speaker 2: in different stages of the digestive process. Yeah already.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Yeah, so yeah, I thought it had some interesting ideas.
- 26:21Speaker 4: It's funny the more we talk about them more like, yeah,
- 26:23Speaker 4: that was actually pretty good. Yeah, yeah, it's not word
- 26:28Speaker 4: sometimes that I oh, yeah, that was the second episode
- 26:33Speaker 4: where they were making fun of his mustache. Yes, yeah,
- 26:38Speaker 4: we'll get to the second episode. But yeah, I was like,
- 26:42Speaker 4: you two, I really thought Ortegas was gonna go. I
- 26:45Speaker 4: was like, wow, that's that's an interesting way get rid
- 26:48Speaker 4: of her. Okay, that that brings in room for Sulu.
- 26:54Speaker 4: You know, it could be foreshadowing them, man, because at
- 26:57Speaker 4: some point they need to get Sulu in there. So
- 27:00Speaker 4: maybe not this year, but.
- 27:03Speaker 2: There's still time.
- 27:04Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, one of the producers has said, basically they
- 27:09Speaker 4: want to end it where basically t OS begins. Yeah,
- 27:12Speaker 4: so you're gonna need all those QS characters. So you
- 27:16Speaker 4: could do a thing every because you got what this season,
- 27:20Speaker 4: the next one, and the fifth one. Yeah, so you
- 27:23Speaker 4: could do a thing where every year it looks like
- 27:25Speaker 4: Ordega is about to die.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Yeah. Do you remember the Do you remember the game Gauntlet,
- 27:32Speaker 2: Ortegas is about to die?
- 27:34Speaker 4: Yeah, grew Worrior needs food badly.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Yea needs food badly. Yeah. So here's the question. If
- 27:42Speaker 2: they're going to do that, If the end of this
- 27:44Speaker 2: show is going to butt right up to the beginning
- 27:47Speaker 2: of t OS and different characters are going to show
- 27:50Speaker 2: up until the crew is is fully assembled, are they
- 27:55Speaker 2: gonna finally answer that age old question was check Off
- 28:00Speaker 2: on the ship during season one? We just didn't see him.
- 28:05Speaker 4: That's I was about to ask you something very similar,
- 28:07Speaker 4: like do they need to cast check Off because he
- 28:09Speaker 4: didn't show the season two?
- 28:12Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:12Speaker 4: Yeah, are they gonna make him Wesley like he's just
- 28:16Speaker 4: a young kid, that's a boy genius? Yeah that's right,
- 28:22Speaker 4: that's right. So yeah, yeah, the more we talk about
- 28:27Speaker 4: the more the more I liked it. I I also
- 28:31Speaker 4: think it's interesting how much they borrowed from Alien, the
- 28:36Speaker 4: Alien franchise, but we talked about that before. But yeah,
- 28:43Speaker 4: so yeah, thumbs up pretty good.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So in the end, what do they do? They put
- 28:49Speaker 2: the bourn to sleep and sent them home. Is that
- 28:53Speaker 2: how it?
- 28:55Speaker 4: That's how I understood it. Yeah, yeah, trying to read it, Yeah,
- 29:03Speaker 4: triggering a long hibernation cycle. So yeah, there you go.
- 29:07Speaker 2: All right.
- 29:08Speaker 4: The next episode, well, this one was intense and dramatic.
- 29:12Speaker 4: The next episode, wow, they just really went on. This
- 29:19Speaker 4: one was called Wedding Bell Blues and basically Spock is
- 29:25Speaker 4: all excited because Christina is showing up and uh, they
- 29:30Speaker 4: have not seen each other for like months, and he's
- 29:34Speaker 4: ready to He's ready to be like, oh man, I
- 29:36Speaker 4: love you so much, hot dog, we can be together
- 29:40Speaker 4: and and she's like, oh that's really sweet, Spot. But
- 29:44Speaker 4: here's my boyfriend, and which you know, I've been that
- 29:49Speaker 4: guy that sucks yeah yeah, yeah, and uh there he
- 29:56Speaker 4: is captain boyfriend or you know we Oh, I didn't
- 30:00Speaker 4: have time to build this graphic. But this guy, let's
- 30:03Speaker 4: see if I can find a better shot of him again,
- 30:08Speaker 4: the Christine's boyfriend. To me, he has a similar look
- 30:14Speaker 4: as the guy that was supposed to be on solo
- 30:17Speaker 4: in uh TNG, like that rogueish I forget the guy's Yeah. Yeah,
- 30:24Speaker 4: so he's got a similar look to that guy. And
- 30:27Speaker 4: he's also got a similar look to Jane Way's holograft
- 30:31Speaker 4: boyfriend in Very even so someone in Star Trek has
- 30:36Speaker 4: a type. Whenever they're like, oh we need a handsome guy,
- 30:40Speaker 4: it's gonna be this kind of dude. So whatever.
- 30:46Speaker 2: So Christine Christine let her hair grow.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Yeah, she let her hair her hair.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Yeah significantly, Yes, the outrageous of Kanna.
- 30:55Speaker 4: Yeah so uh yeah, so uh Spock is pretty sad
- 31:03Speaker 4: about it. And uh then he's read by his very
- 31:08Speaker 4: godfather apparently yeah Bartender, Yes, a Vulcan bartender.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Which just seems very Unvulcan like to me. I don't know,
- 31:23Speaker 2: I guess you see, you know, here's the thing with
- 31:26Speaker 2: here's the thing with Star Trek that we do. You
- 31:29Speaker 2: look at you look at Klingons and you think they're
- 31:33Speaker 2: all warriors. You look at Ferrengi and you think they're
- 31:36Speaker 2: all they're all businessmen. And you look at Vulcans and
- 31:41Speaker 2: you think they're all scientists. Right, But then you have
- 31:45Speaker 2: to you have to think to yourself, well, you know what, Uh,
- 31:49Speaker 2: somebody designs those Klingon ships, so there are Klingon scientists
- 31:55Speaker 2: and engineers.
- 31:56Speaker 4: Uh.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Somebody cleans the toilets on Vulcan so there are there
- 32:03Speaker 2: are Vulcan janitors. You know, they eat things on Vulcans.
- 32:08Speaker 2: So there's Vulcan restaurants, Vulcan farmers, Vulcan far You know,
- 32:13Speaker 2: it's it's weird you think of you know, Fankie. There's
- 32:17Speaker 2: there's gotta be Frankie doctors, There's gotta be Frankie warriors.
- 32:23Speaker 2: I guess I think we're introduced to like a very
- 32:29Speaker 2: small aspect of these races, and you can't help but
- 32:35Speaker 2: picture all of them, put all of them in this
- 32:36Speaker 2: little box.
- 32:40Speaker 4: So yeah, so this Spock makes a new friend. I
- 32:43Speaker 4: checked the closed captioning. They never say his name. It's yeah,
- 32:48Speaker 4: it's him.
- 32:49Speaker 2: It's for those wondering, it's Trilline from uh was it
- 32:53Speaker 2: the Squire of Goths? The t o s that he
- 32:59Speaker 2: was in?
- 33:00Speaker 4: So yes, it is true Lane. And so basically he's
- 33:04Speaker 4: just screwing with the whole ship. And he creates a
- 33:08Speaker 4: scenario where Nurse Chapel and Spock are gonna get married
- 33:14Speaker 4: because that's what he wants. He wants them to be happy.
- 33:17Speaker 4: I guess there's his playthings. I guess. Yeah, And at
- 33:23Speaker 4: one point even turns the boyfriend into a dog and
- 33:27Speaker 4: Hi Jens and Sue. This episode was totally not serious.
- 33:32Speaker 4: It's just kind of moving fun. We got to meet
- 33:36Speaker 4: Ortegas's brother, who is a filmmaker, which is interesting that
- 33:42Speaker 4: that would happen that far in the future. I thought
- 33:47Speaker 4: they would do like hollow novels or something like that.
- 33:49Speaker 4: But okay, oh yeah, there's a Nurse Chapel and her
- 33:55Speaker 4: giant whiting dress. This thing was interesting.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't wait to see people try to cause
- 34:03Speaker 4: play that in conventions because it's gonna happen.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so you would think you would think if
- 34:12Speaker 2: he's getting married, ah, you know, Sarah would be there,
- 34:17Speaker 2: you would think. So, I don't know, those actors weren't available.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Or Triliane just didn't know and didn't care.
- 34:26Speaker 2: And well he's he's omnipotent because at the end of
- 34:31Speaker 2: the episode we find out who he really is. Do
- 34:35Speaker 2: we want to go there?
- 34:36Speaker 4: Let's go yeah.
- 34:38Speaker 2: So, so he appears in voice only, but at the
- 34:42Speaker 2: end of the episode, Trelaine's father shows up and uh, Frankie,
- 34:48Speaker 2: doctor's charge double for surgery.
- 34:50Speaker 4: That's right, that's right.
- 34:53Speaker 2: They don't tell you. They wake you up halfway through
- 34:55Speaker 2: the surgery and ask if you're to finish. Then they
- 34:58Speaker 2: hold up the pads. Need to thumber it right here.
- 35:03Speaker 2: But Chelaine's dad shows up as a as a glowing
- 35:08Speaker 2: green orb and scolds him for messing with the humans
- 35:13Speaker 2: and sets everything back to normal. And he's voiced by
- 35:18Speaker 2: John Delancey. So for years people have speculated that Chelaine
- 35:23Speaker 2: was in fact a que. So the question, the question
- 35:28Speaker 2: now is so this is Q's son. Is this the
- 35:34Speaker 2: same son that was born during Voyager? Now I know?
- 35:39Speaker 2: He says, oh, he's only eight thousand years old, and
- 35:43Speaker 2: this takes place before Voyager, but we know that the
- 35:46Speaker 2: Q Continuum lives outside of space and time that can
- 35:49Speaker 2: travel to time at will. So from his perspective, it
- 35:54Speaker 2: could be the twenty fifth century, or this could take
- 35:57Speaker 2: place from Trelaine's perspective, this could take place after his birth,
- 36:05Speaker 2: but before he actually meets Captain Janeway. So he's a
- 36:12Speaker 2: nine year old human, but he's eight thousand years old
- 36:17Speaker 2: as a que. There's really no way to no way
- 36:22Speaker 2: to know.
- 36:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's just that hand wavy just let it go. Yeah, Yeah,
- 36:31Speaker 4: I liked that they connected that dot. I mean, it's
- 36:34Speaker 4: it's what fans have been saying for years, so great,
- 36:37Speaker 4: let's just make it happen. They also kind of left
- 36:40Speaker 4: it open enough that if you don't want Trelaine to
- 36:43Speaker 4: be a que he's not. And it's just Trelaine's dad,
- 36:47Speaker 4: who happens to be voiced by John Delancy as well.
- 36:52Speaker 4: But that's the thing, right, if you ask him, is
- 36:56Speaker 4: he really agume? What would you think at a convention? Yeah, yeah,
- 37:00Speaker 4: that's the answer you'll get. So this was interesting too though,
- 37:05Speaker 4: spot at the end, you know, everything's restored. He realizes
- 37:09Speaker 4: that that he's not the right fit for Christine. So
- 37:12Speaker 4: you know, he's a it's a bummer, but that's okay.
- 37:14Speaker 4: And then uh Lon is like, hey, let's dance.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:18Speaker 4: I don't know if they're teasing some of them there, spot.
- 37:23Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 37:24Speaker 4: I mean, I thought she had eyes for Kurt, but
- 37:28Speaker 4: you know.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and she's trying to forget him, maybe knowing
- 37:35Speaker 2: that she can't have him because it's not really him
- 37:38Speaker 2: right perspective. So I started to say earlier when I
- 37:42Speaker 2: was cutting out that they're they're like connecting this show
- 37:46Speaker 2: to some contemporary things like he ordered Scotty orders two
- 37:51Speaker 2: pints of Guinness. He doesn't order two beers, right, he
- 37:56Speaker 2: orders two pints a Guinness, which is a brand name.
- 38:01Speaker 2: So they're so they're showing that this brand is still
- 38:04Speaker 2: around X number of X number of years later. Also,
- 38:11Speaker 2: you know at the party, they don't dance to some
- 38:15Speaker 2: rock and roll song they danced to I can't remember.
- 38:18Speaker 2: I think it was Wham or something.
- 38:20Speaker 5: Is that?
- 38:20Speaker 2: What? So which they have completely shied away from other
- 38:29Speaker 2: than other than J j Abrams J j Abrams track,
- 38:32Speaker 2: but the Beastie Boys and whatnot. They have mostly shied
- 38:37Speaker 2: away from uh contemporary music. I think they might have
- 38:42Speaker 2: done something in discovery mm hmm, but you know, we
- 38:45Speaker 2: don't talk about uch. But uh so, my question is
- 38:54Speaker 2: what music do you want to see next?
- 38:56Speaker 4: In star Track?
- 39:00Speaker 2: Do you want? Do you want to see some Metallica?
- 39:04Speaker 2: Do you want to see some some Snoop Dog? Do
- 39:07Speaker 2: you want?
- 39:09Speaker 4: Oh? I know it, I know it. I want you
- 39:13Speaker 4: ever see the movie Office Space?
- 39:15Speaker 2: Yeah? Yes, yes, I love that suck.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:22Speaker 2: I have a buddy that when he calls me, that's
- 39:23Speaker 2: his ringtone, which which ultimately means that when I answer
- 39:28Speaker 2: the phone, I'm from his point of view, like usually
- 39:32Speaker 2: singing along too.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Nice. Yeah, I mean that would be a fun song.
- 39:40Speaker 4: I think you could do some I don't know, like
- 39:44Speaker 4: Simon and carpunkle in there. Maybe I don't know, something
- 39:48Speaker 4: a little more non district, you know, even though it's
- 39:53Speaker 4: from a certain time period, it kind of fits wherever.
- 39:56Speaker 4: I think some Johnny Cash would go really good.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I think they should uh spread it around and have
- 40:04Speaker 2: like you know, it's like line dancing night one night
- 40:09Speaker 2: in the message and then the next night it's like,
- 40:15Speaker 2: you know, there's a Beatles cover.
- 40:16Speaker 4: Balance the mac arena is gone.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, there you go.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Yeah, that would agree. Funny. Yeah, so okay, the two
- 40:28Speaker 4: episodes we had, we had such a big difference. Did
- 40:31Speaker 4: you like this one as well?
- 40:32Speaker 2: Or I like this one? Yeah? This was this was
- 40:36Speaker 2: a fun episode. Yeah.
- 40:39Speaker 4: Did you like that they did that though, where one
- 40:42Speaker 4: was so serious and one was so goofy?
- 40:44Speaker 2: Do you like that? As as the premiere, I think
- 40:47Speaker 2: they are I think they are uh drawing a line.
- 40:53Speaker 2: I think they are finishing up last season. Uh huh, standalone,
- 41:00Speaker 2: self contained episode that has nothing to do with last season,
- 41:05Speaker 2: nothing to do with this coming season. And I think
- 41:08Speaker 2: I think next week will be the start of an
- 41:12Speaker 2: overarching story for this.
- 41:17Speaker 5: You know.
- 41:18Speaker 2: And and and we saw a little of that because
- 41:20Speaker 2: at the end or take or, Tegas kind of leaves
- 41:23Speaker 2: the party early and we see her looking at herself
- 41:26Speaker 2: in the mirror and it looks like it looks like
- 41:29Speaker 2: there's a garden standing behind her. Yeah, so something.
- 41:36Speaker 4: Something's up, Something is up for sure.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Something for sure. Oh, we didn't even talk about we
- 41:43Speaker 2: didn't even talk about how they cured captain girlfriend.
- 41:49Speaker 4: This said the drugs.
- 41:52Speaker 2: That's not how they cured her.
- 41:54Speaker 4: Oh that's right.
- 41:55Speaker 2: They they used UNA's blood.
- 41:58Speaker 4: That's right, Yeah, the Maine.
- 42:00Speaker 2: UNA's genetically modified blood.
- 42:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 2: And for those who don't remember, it's Captain Girlfriend who
- 42:08Speaker 2: was the prosecutor last year when they were trying to
- 42:11Speaker 2: put her in jail for having genetically modified blood. Yeah,
- 42:16Speaker 2: so that's all good nhood which Okay, technically Captain Girlfriend
- 42:25Speaker 2: is genetically modified now, but she gets her pick of
- 42:30Speaker 2: whatever command she wants. What's up with that?
- 42:33Speaker 4: Yeah, must be nice.
- 42:39Speaker 7: Star So you can't trust them all, although I will
- 42:43Speaker 7: say we do have the in the first episode, we
- 42:46Speaker 7: do have the one good admiral Admiral April.
- 42:53Speaker 8: Or calls them or calls them Bob. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 42:58Speaker 8: you can tell you can always tell you pissed. Yeah yeah.
- 43:03Speaker 4: But like that's like the one that hasn't tried to
- 43:05Speaker 4: like take over Starfleet. Yeah yeah yeah, so yeah. I
- 43:14Speaker 4: get the feeling, especially the way this episode played out,
- 43:17Speaker 4: I have a feeling they would much rather do these
- 43:20Speaker 4: kinds of episodes, these goofy, silly phone episodes, than the
- 43:26Speaker 4: serious stuff. I don't know why, but that's the vibe
- 43:29Speaker 4: I get.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:31Speaker 4: Maybe it's because when I see uh the actors talk
- 43:34Speaker 4: about stuff, they almost always are talking about the goofy stuff. Yeah,
- 43:38Speaker 4: like they seem more excited about it. But I don't know.
- 43:47Speaker 2: All right, so we know what even about next week's episode.
- 43:52Speaker 4: Let's see, next week's episode is called Shuttle to ken
- 43:58Speaker 4: Fory and that's all it says. Okay, But but the
- 44:03Speaker 4: week after that, episode four is called a Space Adventure
- 44:07Speaker 4: hour and that is directed by Jonathan Freaks. So yeah,
- 44:15Speaker 4: all right, Jesus says their cheap bottle episodes, it's not
- 44:20Speaker 4: as cheap as you would think with all those costumes. Yeah,
- 44:23Speaker 4: all those wedding like that. That's a lot of time
- 44:27Speaker 4: and fabrics and putting those outfits together. Like, it's not
- 44:31Speaker 4: as as cheap.
- 44:32Speaker 2: As just you know, it's it's funny things change I was,
- 44:36Speaker 2: I was reading about Trelaine this morning for yeah, and
- 44:44Speaker 2: and the jacket, the jacket that he wore in the
- 44:47Speaker 2: TOS episode. They listed all the other places it's very
- 44:52Speaker 2: similar to that one that's set right now, but not
- 44:54Speaker 2: the same, but they listed all the other like like
- 44:56Speaker 2: they rented it from a Western store right for that
- 45:00Speaker 2: for that episode. But then they listed like all the
- 45:04Speaker 2: other all the other places it was worn, and they
- 45:07Speaker 2: had some some photos so like Thurston Howell wore on
- 45:12Speaker 2: Gillian's Island like three weeks later, like three weeks later. Yeah,
- 45:17Speaker 2: it was on Uh, it was on the cover of
- 45:19Speaker 2: a Beatles album. Uh, you know they listened a whole
- 45:23Speaker 2: bunch of Yeah. Yeah, But you know they I don't
- 45:27Speaker 2: I don't think they do that kind of stuff anymore.
- 45:32Speaker 2: I feel like what they're wearing, what they're wearing right here,
- 45:36Speaker 2: you know, they made it and and it goes into
- 45:39Speaker 2: like the Paramount wardrobe department and maybe you'll see it
- 45:45Speaker 2: in another Paramount production down the line. But I don't
- 45:51Speaker 2: know if they like go to the rental shop and.
- 45:58Speaker 4: I know, get what show was. Maybe it was Discovery,
- 46:02Speaker 4: But on one of the Will Wheaton shows, they talked
- 46:06Speaker 4: a lot about how they use three D printers to
- 46:08Speaker 4: make a lot of their outfits down like three D printers.
- 46:15Speaker 4: Like all this stuff that's on on on Nurse Chapel's dress,
- 46:19Speaker 4: like the tube being and all that that was probably
- 46:22Speaker 4: three D printing. Like they'll design it that way. It's
- 46:28Speaker 4: not like they go to the hardware store and like,
- 46:29Speaker 4: all right, get the spray bad We're gonna match it
- 46:32Speaker 4: to the fabric and let's go right, Which is what
- 46:35Speaker 4: the cosplayers will do. But yeah, when you were saying
- 46:46Speaker 4: all that about Trelane's jacket, I was thinking about the
- 46:51Speaker 4: robot from Lost in Space. Yeah, danger Will Robinson, that robot.
- 46:57Speaker 4: There's like a stretch of like I think ten fifteen.
- 47:00Speaker 4: He is in a ton of movies and backgrounds and shows.
- 47:04Speaker 4: He's even in the first Grimlins. Yeah, there's a there's
- 47:08Speaker 4: a part where the dad is trapped at an airport
- 47:11Speaker 4: or like a convention and you see the robot in
- 47:14Speaker 4: the background like that. That robot was everywhere. Yeah, yeah,
- 47:18Speaker 4: it's just they reuse things.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Egan's UK shows up in a couple other places, okay,
- 47:27Speaker 2: and other movies, and I can't remember off the top
- 47:31Speaker 2: of my head where else that shows up.
- 47:36Speaker 4: That's funny. Yeah, but you know, we're two episodes in.
- 47:42Speaker 4: We got eight more to go. It's like we're going
- 47:46Speaker 4: straight through U till September. So it's still good a
- 47:50Speaker 4: while with these episodes overall, though, how do you feeling
- 47:54Speaker 4: now that we've seen you know, twenty percent of the
- 47:57Speaker 4: season Feeling good? Feeling Yeah?
- 48:03Speaker 2: Yeah, now it's good. Yeah, it's good. I'm excited to
- 48:07Speaker 2: see the rest you.
- 48:09Speaker 4: Too, So all right, Well, let's have people X up
- 48:13Speaker 4: in the chat if they want to join us. While
- 48:16Speaker 4: we're doing that, to x up, we can say, do
- 48:20Speaker 4: you want to give out the number people will leave
- 48:22Speaker 4: us voicemails.
- 48:24Speaker 2: It is five seven zero six six one zero zero
- 48:30Speaker 2: zero one five seven zero six six one zero zero
- 48:35Speaker 2: zero one. Give us a call. Operators are not standing
- 48:38Speaker 2: by voicemail. Only leave us a voicemail. We will play
- 48:42Speaker 2: it on the show.
- 48:43Speaker 4: That's right, thanks, And then we're also all over social
- 48:47Speaker 4: media Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, find it Twitter but not
- 48:56Speaker 4: really or acts, I guess twex twex right, right, what
- 49:03Speaker 4: is that movie? Is? Mama called him X? I'm gonna
- 49:05Speaker 4: call him. Yeah, that's right, that's right.
- 49:11Speaker 2: If a man wants to be called X, respect.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Him, that's right, that's right. So yeah, yeah, so we're
- 49:20Speaker 4: all over those and you can follow us on there. Uh,
- 49:23Speaker 4: if you are listening to the show right now on YouTube,
- 49:27Speaker 4: please like and subscribe and all that that helps us.
- 49:31Speaker 4: But yeah, let's let's get to listener feedback.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Listener feedback, all right, So.
- 49:44Speaker 4: We ask people to accept in the chat, and so
- 49:48Speaker 4: Jaz Business answered the call. He saw the lights of
- 49:51Speaker 4: Gundor flaming.
- 49:53Speaker 2: So here we go.
- 49:54Speaker 4: There's jazz.
- 49:56Speaker 2: The Chazbis signal is in the sky. I needed.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Somebody wants to talk. Let's talk, Let's go.
- 50:07Speaker 5: Oh no much? Are you guys good?
- 50:09Speaker 4: How'd you like the episodes or do you not like them?
- 50:11Speaker 5: Well? I wish I would have watched the finale last season,
- 50:15Speaker 5: okay to follow up with this, because two years is
- 50:21Speaker 5: too long for like an episode like this.
- 50:25Speaker 4: I just watched the recap.
- 50:28Speaker 5: Sad things that's kept the recap. I remember, I thought
- 50:37Speaker 5: we were just going to go right into the show,
- 50:39Speaker 5: and I was like, oh.
- 50:40Speaker 2: He's like, oh ship, they got Scotty here.
- 50:43Speaker 5: I forgot about Scottie and then I forgot about this
- 50:45Speaker 5: and I forgot they got trapped and yeah, yeah, and
- 50:50Speaker 5: then there's this weird pussy thing on the back of
- 50:54Speaker 5: Captain Pattilla's back. You know, it's like, you know, you grows.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Indeed, it's like anything was.
- 51:05Speaker 5: The episode was definitely alien somebody liked aliens.
- 51:10Speaker 2: Yeah, And.
- 51:12Speaker 5: In a way I kind of didn't give it a
- 51:13Speaker 5: fair review because I probably need to rewatch the episode
- 51:19Speaker 5: before watching together, and then I think it'd be a
- 51:22Speaker 5: better episode, because, like I said, two years too long
- 51:27Speaker 5: and you know, it's glad. I'm glad to see the
- 51:30Speaker 5: character's back. And is this the first time that a
- 51:35Speaker 5: character has started to pray?
- 51:39Speaker 2: Oh yes, yeah I forgot about that.
- 51:43Speaker 5: Yes, you know, because Pike had nothing less. You know,
- 51:47Speaker 5: it was like all right, dad, and then he goes
- 51:50Speaker 5: and gets on his knees and she comes back.
- 51:52Speaker 4: You know, I feel like you could argue Chakote would pray.
- 51:57Speaker 5: Well, yeah, but I'm talking about like actual like religion.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, Chacote's religion was was an all encompassing
- 52:12Speaker 2: amalgamation of all indigenous people. So it was kind of
- 52:18Speaker 2: borderline insulting at times. Yea, I think he's I think
- 52:21Speaker 2: he's talking.
- 52:22Speaker 5: About actual religion.
- 52:25Speaker 2: This is this is an American this is an American
- 52:28Speaker 2: made show. This was you know, traditionally a Judeo Christian
- 52:33Speaker 2: company country. I think he's talking about that we've never seen.
- 52:39Speaker 2: There's been vague there's been vague references to Christmas.
- 52:43Speaker 5: I think that's it, yes, because that's the first time
- 52:48Speaker 5: I was like, huh, yeah, you know that's interesting.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:53Speaker 5: You know, you know sometimes when there's we've seen plenty
- 52:57Speaker 5: of you to divine intervention. You know, he got to
- 53:00Speaker 5: go to something.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Right.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Well, I mean yeah, if you really think about I mean,
- 53:04Speaker 4: they talked to God in one movie, then what is starship?
- 53:08Speaker 5: So yeah, what has gotten with the Starship?
- 53:11Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 53:13Speaker 5: I love that part.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but none of those people, none of those people
- 53:16Speaker 2: were seeking God to worship him.
- 53:20Speaker 5: That's right.
- 53:22Speaker 4: Oh, OLLI makes a good point. What are you talking
- 53:27Speaker 4: about our Lord and Sateran Cisco? That's true? Oh yeah,
- 53:33Speaker 4: all the characters prayed all the time of the problem.
- 53:35Speaker 5: Yes, yes, yeah, you're right.
- 53:37Speaker 4: He's it started at one hundred from the previous episode,
- 53:43Speaker 4: which I've already forgotten what had happened. Should have rewatched
- 53:46Speaker 4: previous season or episode?
- 53:48Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can't think. Of course, I thought
- 53:55Speaker 5: doctor girlfriend was gonna die. Yeah, and you know, there's
- 54:01Speaker 5: a light you know, basically it's one of those episodes
- 54:04Speaker 5: where it's just the volume and everything's spinning lights and yeah,
- 54:11Speaker 5: that's pretty much all I have on that one.
- 54:13Speaker 4: Did you think was gonna die?
- 54:17Speaker 5: I think, you know, I knew she was gonna make
- 54:18Speaker 5: it out of there, so.
- 54:20Speaker 2: Okay, it would have been cool.
- 54:22Speaker 5: It would have been cool like if she you know,
- 54:24Speaker 5: they said her hand got digested or whatever and been cool. Yeah,
- 54:30Speaker 5: like something like if she's trying to that ship with
- 54:33Speaker 5: the hook, you know, she'd be punching in that keyboard
- 54:40Speaker 5: with the hooks.
- 54:41Speaker 9: It doesn't work a little claw, it doesn't have to
- 54:49Speaker 9: any buttons back stylist in there.
- 54:53Speaker 5: So that's what they switched out is because she didn't
- 54:55Speaker 5: have a hand, So that's why they added buttons. So
- 54:59Speaker 5: that makes sense.
- 55:00Speaker 2: Yeah, oh god.
- 55:06Speaker 5: But the funny thing is now that second episode because
- 55:09Speaker 5: I was completely lost because Nurse Chapel, I hate to say,
- 55:13Speaker 5: Nurse Chapel almost looked like she was wearing a wig
- 55:16Speaker 5: in that episode because they had that two year delay,
- 55:20Speaker 5: and I think you got a haircut, so I think
- 55:22Speaker 5: they gave her a wig. And the second episode, you
- 55:26Speaker 5: see Nurse Chapel, you know, new hairdo everything. So did
- 55:31Speaker 5: they film this episode last year or did they film
- 55:34Speaker 5: it this year?
- 55:35Speaker 4: I think they filmed this stuff like two years ago.
- 55:37Speaker 5: Okay, so you think I remember two years ago?
- 55:40Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, I remember when we did the story that
- 55:43Speaker 4: they shot season two and all like we're going to
- 55:45Speaker 4: wait a week and then go right into season three.
- 55:48Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, and then yeah, the writers strike really screwed
- 55:57Speaker 5: this up. Now, now, the second episode I liked because
- 56:00Speaker 5: it reminded me I have an old TS episode kind
- 56:03Speaker 5: of goofy, you know, lighthearted, just completely like one eight
- 56:10Speaker 5: from the previous episode. Yeah, and I liked it. I
- 56:16Speaker 5: liked I don't know, doctor doctor boyfriend has no idea.
- 56:23Speaker 5: So you got Scottie and doctor Boyfriend with these like
- 56:25Speaker 5: really thick accents. You're like, man, I almost have put
- 56:28Speaker 5: subtitles on.
- 56:32Speaker 4: That's right, that's right, because it's like, what did you
- 56:35Speaker 4: think of Trelaine being in there?
- 56:37Speaker 5: I loved it, you know, I really liked that. I
- 56:39Speaker 5: thought that was pretty cool. And now you think it's
- 56:42Speaker 5: like maybe he's a cue.
- 56:44Speaker 4: So I really wanted when he turned the guy into
- 56:47Speaker 4: a dog. I wanted the dog to start talking.
- 56:50Speaker 5: It'd have been great.
- 56:51Speaker 4: Yeah. I like the guy who's just talking to the dog.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:58Speaker 5: Yeah, that sweating should old.
- 57:06Speaker 4: Oh somebody give me bets. I guarantee. They talked about
- 57:14Speaker 4: that in the writer's room and we're like, no, it's
- 57:16Speaker 4: too silly.
- 57:17Speaker 2: We can't do that.
- 57:18Speaker 5: Too much money. It's like our budget. We blewed on
- 57:20Speaker 5: the fir.
- 57:22Speaker 4: You know how you do it is you give the
- 57:23Speaker 4: dog peanut butter. The dog just choosing like.
- 57:26Speaker 5: Mister ed yeah, okay, always kind up.
- 57:36Speaker 4: Three bucks thinking peanut butter, you're good to go?
- 57:39Speaker 5: Oh and dan on the p K E meter. I
- 57:43Speaker 5: looked it up. It was the movie They Live Suburban Commando. Okay,
- 57:51Speaker 5: and then the gigameter was used in Teenage Meeting Ninja, Turtles,
- 57:56Speaker 5: and Star Trek six Undiscovered Country.
- 57:59Speaker 4: Oh a meter, Okay, okay, thank you.
- 58:05Speaker 5: That Maybe it's when the blood or no, is it
- 58:11Speaker 5: the part where they're well, maybe it's when they're such
- 58:14Speaker 5: a for the blood on the ship, you know on
- 58:16Speaker 5: Undiscovered Country.
- 58:18Speaker 4: Mm hmm. I I have noticed because I also watched
- 58:23Speaker 4: the show Texter they have. They have started putting in
- 58:29Speaker 4: other paramount franchises within Dexter. Like there's a scene where
- 58:33Speaker 4: they talk about watching the Nach Journals. There's another scene
- 58:36Speaker 4: where some kids watching some show. Yeah, well yeah, I
- 58:40Speaker 4: don't know what the what the watch, but it's another
- 58:43Speaker 4: paramount show. So I keep waiting. I'm like, okay, at
- 58:46Speaker 4: some point, some other paramount property is gonna drop into
- 58:49Speaker 4: Star Trek. I don't know if like they're watching TV
- 58:52Speaker 4: or you mentioned yeah, oh, my family used to love Papa.
- 58:57Speaker 2: About about fifteen years ago, when they rebooted night Rider. Yeah,
- 59:07Speaker 2: in the in the premiere episode, they were in Las
- 59:11Speaker 2: Vegas and the hotel they went to was the Hotel Montecito.
- 59:15Speaker 2: And at the time NBC had a show called Las
- 59:19Speaker 2: Vegas and it was it was set it was set
- 59:24Speaker 2: at the fictional Montecito Hotel that's also Las Vegas Strip. Yeah,
- 59:31Speaker 2: I mean, if you got the sets.
- 59:36Speaker 4: Yeah, if they got the sets, do it or the
- 59:39Speaker 4: actors in your contract gay just show up.
- 59:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know what, By the time season five
- 59:45Speaker 2: rolls around, Stephen Colbert is not going to be doing anything,
- 59:48Speaker 2: so it could Sir Sir Admiral Colbert is requesting permission
- 59:57Speaker 2: to come aboard. He's too he's.
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: Too big to be a Ferenghi. He can take a
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: really goofy Klingon like the kling On account.
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, you can make like a bad role
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: or something.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah yeah yeah, because you know.
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: He's probably too good to put on all that makeup,
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: because he's you know, worth all that money now.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: So he does like all the I've seen clips where
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: he talks a lot about Lord of the Rings sort
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: of fantasy episode. I'm sure he'd have you to be
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: a wizard or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah, why not just
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: let him? I don't know, but whatever.
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: What's your thoughts of them premiering with two episodes? Do
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: you think that's a good idea or bad idea?
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: You know, they they did the same thing with Dexter
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: the New See the New Show. They started with the
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: two episode premiere and then now they're going to one
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: episode a week. That seems to be their their new model.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: It's very similar to the Paramount or the Amazon One.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: Amazon typically starts with three and then the season continues one.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: So you don't like, yeah, you're you're shortening it by
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: by a week.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: Yeah, by a third or whatever pretty much.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that that's the counter to that. But the
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: idea is, like you book them with a few episodes
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: because people want to binge, but there's still more to
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: run away, Like.
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: People, I have friends that will wait all the way
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: to the end of the season. Yeah, you talk about
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: the stupid show until the whole show's over and then
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: I can.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: Think about it.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: I know, people like that. What was that letter? Heard
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: a high.
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: That's from Dan?
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Oh Okay, I'm losing you guys?
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: Oh are you?
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: Come back, go and come back sick.
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: It's funny because his voice got so low earlier. Yeah,
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: the fristel like I was wanting to say, oh yeah.
- 1:02:21Speaker 10: Oh yeah, it's oh he's gonna bustling like the man. Yes, yes, yeah,
- 1:02:30Speaker 10: it's like all right, well let's see.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: Uh so we got.
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: Oh mister Potters.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: Oh yeah, he couldn't make it today.
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, I'm sure he'll be back next week. He's
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: Nebraska's kidnapping rock Sanna Dawson.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Right now, he's gonna make me to chat in the basement, yes,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: making the meals now, that's right.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: I think he's taking at least watch Superman. I don't know.
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, or maybe that's what he's doing to watch
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: a Superman right now?
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: Yeah maybe maybe. All right, well I don't know if
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: Dan is coming back.
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: What's your predictions on Fantastic four.
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: Uh, everything I've read it sounds like it's gonna be amazing.
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: I guess, like the first hour of the movies, like
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: I'm fantastic, Not that it gets worse, but it's just,
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: you know, it doesn't keep up that level. You just can't.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: There is hey hey audio save so.
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: Yeah, uh I thought more of a perfect circle, but
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: you know.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: It's all good, perfect, sir. We're we talking about.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: Bands, Audio Slave, Perfect Circle, the.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: Perfect Strangers, reboot, reboot episodes.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: That's right, that's right, dinosaurs, man, not the Mama, not
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: the Mama, the family, matter who you line up.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: Jas was asking me what do I think about the
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: fantastic far Am I excited for it or not? Yeah?
