Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in scripture and relevant for today, April 27th.
- 0:11Words that build, not break Words can change the atmosphere
- 0:15of a room 1 harsh sentence can stir up anger, but one gentle
- 0:20answer can bring peace where conflict was about to grow.
- 0:24Proverbs chapter 15 verses one to two says a soft answer turns
- 0:28away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
- 0:31It also reminds us that wise words carry knowledge while
- 0:35foolish mouths pour out folly. Romans chapter 12, verses 9 to
- 0:3910 says Let love be genuine and outdo one another in showing
- 0:44honor. That is a different way to live.
- 0:47Instead of trying to win every argument, prove every point, or
- 0:51get the last word, God calls us to honor others.
- 0:54Real love shows up in how we speak, especially when we are
- 0:57frustrated. This matters in family
- 1:01conversations, friendships, classrooms, workplaces, and
- 1:04group chats. It matters when someone annoys
- 1:07you. It matters when you feel
- 1:08misunderstood. It matters when sarcasm would be
- 1:12easy and kindness would take effort.
- 1:14Your words are not small. They either build trust or break
- 1:18it down. Choosing a soft answer does not
- 1:20mean you are weak. It means you are strong enough
- 1:23not to be controlled by anger. It means you are wise enough to
- 1:27care about the outcome, not just the moment.
- 1:31It means you are letting God shape your tongue and your
- 1:33heart. Today.
- 1:34Ask God to slow your words down before you speak, post, or text.
- 1:39Ask whether your words reflect love and honor.
- 1:42You may not control how others speak, but you can choose the
- 1:45kind of voice you will be. Let your words become a place
- 1:48where grace can be heard. Let's pray.
- 1:52Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me that my words
- 1:54matter. Help me speak with wisdom,
- 1:57gentleness, and love. When anger rises, teach me to
- 2:00pause before I respond. Let my words build others up.
- 2:04Bring peace and reflect the heart of Jesus in Jesus name,
- 2:08Amen. What if you could rise up and
- 2:12declare with full spiritual authority, I shall not die, but

- 3:15Proverbs chapter 15 verses one to two World English Bible A
- 3:20gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
- 3:25The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of
- 3:27fools gush out folly. Romans Chapter 12 World English
- 3:31Bible Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God,
- 3:36to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to
- 3:40God, which is your spiritual service.
- 3:43Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the
- 3:47renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good,
- 3:50well, pleasing and perfect will of God.
- 3:53For I say through the grace that was given me to everyone who is
- 3:57among you, not to think of yourself more highly than you
- 4:00ought to think, but to think reasonably, as God has a portion
- 4:04to each person, a measure of faith.
- 4:07For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members
- 4:11don't have the same function, so we who are many are one body in
- 4:15Christ, and individually members of one another, having gifts
- 4:20differing according to the grace that was given to us.
- 4:23If prophecy, let's prophecy according to the proportion of
- 4:26our faith or service, let's give ourselves to service.
- 4:31Or he who teaches to his teaching, Or he who exhorts to
- 4:34his exhorting. He who gives, let him do it with
- 4:36generosity. He who rules with diligence, He
- 4:40who shows mercy with cheerfulness, Let love be
- 4:43without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil, Cling
- 4:47to that which is good in love of the brothers.
- 4:50Be tenderly affectionate to one another in honor.
- 4:53Prefer one another, not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit,
- 4:57serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, enduring in troubles,
- 5:01continuing steadfastly in prayer, contributing to the
- 5:04needs of the Saints, and given to hospitality.
- 5:08Bless those who persecute you. Bless and don't curse.
- 5:11Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.
- 5:15Be of the same mind, one toward another.
- 5:18Don't set your mind on high things, but associate with the
- 5:21humble. Don't be wise in your own
- 5:23conceits. Repay no one evil for evil.
- 5:26Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.
- 5:29If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with
- 5:33all men. Don't seek revenge yourselves,
- 5:35beloved, but give place to God's wrath, for it is written,
- 5:39vengeance belongs to me. I will repay, says the Lord.
- 5:42Therefore, if your enemy is hungry, feed him.
- 5:46If he is thirsty, give him a drink, for in doing so you will
- 5:49heap coals of fire on his head. Don't be overcome by evil, but
- 5:53overcome evil with good. Thanks for joining us on Bible
