- 0:00Hello and welcome back to the episode of Bank Lorencia.
- 0:02How are you all doing if you're doing great for today's episode,
- 0:06I want to ask the question, have you as a lady, given a man money
- 0:11before a man that you're dating? Maybe you're dating for
- 0:13marriage, maybe you're engaged. Have you given that man money
- 0:17before? And for the men, has any lady
- 0:22that you dated given you money and that the fact that she gave
- 0:25you money changed your feeling towards her?
- 0:28Or did you just think that you can't you know maintain her
- 0:32lifestyle and then you leave her to go follow somebody that's you
- 0:37are giving money instead? Now this conversation started
- 0:40online when talking back in were interviewed Nollywood actress
- 0:44Idia ECN. Now Idia is a very beautiful
- 0:49Nollywood actress. She is a Nepal baby born with a
- 0:53silver spoon. So she has never experienced
- 0:56poverty before. And I think her circle has
- 0:59always been people who had money or you know when you grow up, I
- 1:05think she grew up outside, outside the country.
- 1:07So she was used to being OK. Her dad always provided
- 1:13according to her. So when she got into the dating
- 1:15scene, she go back to Nigeria, she got into Nollywood, she was
- 1:19making money, she was beautiful, she started dating and according
- 1:23to her, she started dating for marriage.
- 1:27She met the guy, they were talking, they were he was having
- 1:31financial challenges here and there.
- 1:33And she said she gave me a couple of 1,000,000.
- 1:36Let me just play that video for you to hear from Idias Malta.
- 1:39What happened? Do you spend money on guys?
- 1:42I used to. I used to.
- 1:44They'll say their business is bad.
- 1:45I'll give them a couple millions.
- 1:47Now I'm just like, no, I've listened to everything you've I.
- 1:54Wait, I listen. To your shows.
- 1:56I'm not waiting. Somebody would tell you that his
- 1:58business is bad. His business is bad and you know
- 2:00that time you're you're dating for marriage, so you don't want
- 2:03the guy to not do well. So if he's trying to invest in
- 2:05something that's going to grow, you know it's OK.
- 2:13Yeah. But like, you know how they
- 2:17always say that there's ups and downs for guys, So if you help
- 2:20the guy in the beginning, then later, who's when?
- 2:23The Who said. That said that when the guy is
- 2:29up he will now also help you and how he treats you is dependent
- 2:33on how you treat it baby. You don't have a ring on your
- 2:37finger, so that man's destiny has nothing to do with you.
- 2:40He's up sideways, back, left, right.
- 2:43That's his motherfucking business.
- 2:46OK, You are still trying to put your life together.
- 2:49Why are you not trying to work? That's a lot of relationship
- 2:51work. Or no?
- 2:52You have a lot of money. I have.
- 2:54Motivations. I'll give you no money and the
- 2:56guy will speak to the dead man inside of his device.
- 3:00Baby, you can't do it. I'm.
- 3:04So dear. But my one night even.
- 3:06If it's just like Tenem. No.
- 3:16Yeah, Cousins, whoever I give that 10 millionaire to five days
- 3:21nights be due. When I say 5 days night be due,
- 3:24like 5 days be due. Praying for my life that that is
- 3:27better. If it was this guy gave money,
- 3:29he said that his business wasn't going well.
- 3:31And then I remember his phone all of a sudden wasn't going
- 3:34through and stuff and I was trying to reach him.
- 3:35Baby, how are you? He explained to me that his
- 3:43phone wasn't working, blah, blah, blah.
- 3:44And then I found out that he had flown like a popular girl
- 3:49business class too. I think it was Dubai or South
- 3:51Africa at the time of cash. Yeah.
- 3:53So because of that, WhatsApp wasn't working.
- 3:54That was why I couldn't reach him.
- 3:55But he said he was in Lagos, but his phone was having issues.
- 3:58It was, I think one of my brothers that told me, bro, your
- 4:02boyfriend is here with the babe. And I was like, no, it's not
- 4:05possible that he's actually like he, you know, that kind of
- 4:06thing. And he was my brother's like,
- 4:08are you mad? My brother now sent me a
- 4:09picture. And I was like, so when I now
- 4:12told him you're in Dubai, he now goes, no babe, my friends
- 4:15dragged me, you know, that kind of thing, da da, da, da, da.
- 4:17And I said, but I just gave you money.
- 4:19I thought you had like a bit. He was like that.
- 4:20No, that you know, it's even for the business thing.
- 4:23They dragged him. Just hold my hand while I told
- 4:25you. Please hold my husband.
- 4:27I said this to you. You are too fine.
- 4:30You are too beautiful. You are too gorgeous, girl.
- 4:38Sorry. I know girl, honestly, listen,
- 4:42we've all been we've been through it, but I'm not lying
- 4:46about you being so beautiful and you being like the most gorgeous
- 4:50thing. Do you look in the mirror and
- 4:52see how gorgeous you are? I'm.
- 4:53Pretty, I know. No, no, no.
- 4:54Girl, you are beautiful, you are successful.
- 4:59Forget where you came from, you're 1 of people that
- 5:02regardless of how wealthy your background is, you've always
- 5:05wanted more for yourself. Do you know what I mean?
- 5:08Listen girl, you are not a poster child to save a man.
- 5:12Girl, I know we've all been hurt like do.
- 5:16You know how old I was when you met me?
- 5:18Do you know how old I am now? Humour me by telling me I'm not
- 5:23trying to be hard on you and I hope you're not getting.
- 5:25Yeah, that for me, because this is literally this is what we
- 5:28would say to each other any day. And we've all fucked up.
- 5:30We've all been in that one situation where we didn't know
- 5:33better. Yeah.
- 5:34Do you know what I mean? But I know your brothers, and I
- 5:36know how mad they probably would have been about that sort of
- 5:38situation. Happening too upset.
- 5:40You are not from the streets. You are not a poster child for
- 5:43hey, I can help your business, I can help you because we live in
- 5:47a world where people just take advantage and because of your
- 5:51sweet nature, I see how a man will run that game on you.
- 5:55He ended up telling me where's all the money coming from?
- 5:59As far as your father's money, Sophie, but we women go through
- 6:06so much your. Yeah, so all credits to Token
- 6:10Machine were Hashu. OK moments we talk on YouTube,
- 6:17you can go watch the full video. But this is particularly
- 6:21interesting because dating for women, I don't think we talk
- 6:26about the challenges, especially if you're successful or if you
- 6:30have made certain amount of money, it becomes challenging
- 6:35because the pool you pick from becomes very narrow.
- 6:42If you're going to date somebody with money, you have to
- 6:46understand that that person maybe want somebody who will be
- 6:50very submissive, stay at home, take care of their kids.
- 6:54So there's a possibility that you may not fit into what they
- 6:59want because you're very ambitious, you have a life, you
- 7:04want to do all these things that you want to do for yourself.
- 7:07So it is very challenging, which I think is what Token Mackinmore
- 7:11is trying to to say to her. But at the end of the day, we
- 7:16have all been in situations where you know it is not right
- 7:20for you but you, you, you just want to make it work.
- 7:26I feel particularly sorry for her, not really sorry.
- 7:30I empathise with the situation she was in because she just
- 7:34wanted to be in a in a relationship worked was marriage
- 7:38help her man out and it did not work out.
- 7:44Now some comments online people said that oh, that's why is it
- 7:48that when women give men money, it becomes an issue.
- 7:52But when men give women money, it's never a problem.
- 7:56They can give women money, still date other people and they don't
- 8:00come online and cry about it or they don't go on interviews to
- 8:04cry about it, especially when the man has money according to
- 8:07her. You know when you have money, a
- 8:10lot more money than the man, so you can be able to spend some of
- 8:14that money. Somebody actually commented to
- 8:17say that most times when women or people who ambitious women
- 8:24get into a relationship, they don't understand that sometimes
- 8:28that is not what a man wants. Especially if you have a
- 8:32lifestyle, if you're posting, if you're travelling, if you have
- 8:36this, you know, glamorous lifestyle that most times what
- 8:39the men look at, I don't know. This is based on the comments
- 8:43online. They said that sometimes the men
- 8:47think can I afford this lifestyle?
- 8:50Can I afford to maintain this lifestyle?
- 8:53Because at the end of the day, what men want is somebody they
- 8:56can take care of. So according to her, she gave
- 8:59this man money because he wanted to invest in his business, only
- 9:03for the man to take fly another girl out to South Africa to take
- 9:09care of her. So you then become, you know, is
- 9:14it, how do I put it? At the end of the day, you
- 9:18realise that the the bottom line is men like people they can't
- 9:23take care of. So where does that leave
- 9:27ambitious women? You can't have it.
- 9:34Or I mean, I posted a video about Bimbo Ademoise
- 9:39relationship with Vijay Adams and people are saying that oh
- 9:45you know, she is a beautiful girl, she deserves better.
- 9:51At the end of the day, whether you're beautiful, whether you're
- 9:53successful, you still want to be in a relationship, you still
- 9:56want companionship. But if the men are not willing
- 10:04to accommodate your hustle spirit, where does that leave
- 10:12you? So this question is for the men.
- 10:15Would you date a woman who has a hustle spirit or has a career
- 10:21that she's passionate about? A career doesn't mean she going
- 10:25to, you know, work. 9:00 to 5:00.
- 10:29These are actresses that travel for shoots maybe weeks in a row,
- 10:36months in a row depending on the production, and they have to be
- 10:42there. Are you comfortable to date that
- 10:45kind of woman or do you prefer to get married to a graduate?
- 10:50And then most times what I see they do is tell her to take a
- 10:54teaching job while they provide. And it doesn't matter if they
- 10:58can provide or not, they are just happy to to put her in a
- 11:03box. I wouldn't say any books in.
- 11:08Just put her home regardless and provide.
- 11:13Now This is why sometimes if I see marriage dynamics, I don't
- 11:17really pity them because at the end of the day that man made
- 11:21that choice. You could have got gotten
- 11:24married to somebody who could have provided together for you
- 11:29and your family, but you choose to marry somebody who you want
- 11:34to provide for. Then don't bring that BS to me
- 11:37to tell me, oh, my family is suffering, Help my family.
- 11:40These are the issues. You cannot eat your cake and
- 11:44have it. I was reading about a medical
- 11:47Doctor Who the lady was talking about in Anambra.
- 11:51She said that there's this lady who she always see with her
- 11:55husband outside the they had a shop, cement shop.
- 11:59So she only see the the lady and the husband sitting down.
- 12:03She was always there selling with her husband.
- 12:06That it was years later, about 30 years later that she realised
- 12:10that the lady is a medical doctor for over 30 years.
- 12:14When she got married to the man, he said he doesn't want her to
- 12:17work as a doctor and they're sitting down there selling
- 12:20cements now. She said that that Trump's the
- 12:25success of a woman marriage. Trump's the success of a woman.
- 12:29So whether you're a medical doctor, doctor or not, if you're
- 12:32not married, you're not successful.
- 12:34So she said that, you know, some people have that ideology,
- 12:39especially some men. It doesn't matter what you are,
- 12:42it doesn't matter who you are. They just want to marry somebody
- 12:45that they can that can be submissive.
- 12:49If they say, oh, we're going for this movie shoot.
- 12:52If they are not comfortable with it, they'll tell you don't go.
- 12:55And that woman will have to obey and sit down at home.
- 13:00And when they have they start having challenges, they will
- 13:03still blame the woman because they will say, oh, since I
- 13:05married you, I have not been successful.
- 13:08But since I married you, my business have been going down.
- 13:10Because at the end of the day, kids are going to come into the
- 13:13mix. Regardless of what you think
- 13:15you're earning. When kids come in, you start
- 13:18paying school fees, you start paying all these things,
- 13:21clothes, feeding, that money is going to go down, especially if
- 13:25that woman is is their home mom and they still blame the woman.
- 13:31So it's a double edged sword. I think everybody should choose
- 13:35their poison. If you want to date somebody or
- 13:39if you want to marry as a man, if you want to marry somebody
- 13:42that you want to provide for, there's nothing wrong with that.
- 13:45Don't then blame her later if things are not working out fine.
- 13:49Or as a woman, if you choose to be very ambitious, if you choose
- 13:54to have a career, if you choose to be successful, then don't
- 13:58come out and cry. That give him our money.
- 14:02And the man took the money to fly another lady out.
- 14:06So let me know what you think. As a woman, would you give your
- 14:11boyfriend money? Would you?
- 14:13Would you give your boyfriend? Would you invest in the
- 14:15boyfriend knowing that you're not engaged to this person,
- 14:20There's a possibility that he's not going to marry you, but
- 14:24you're dating with fate, dating for marriage.
- 14:27Would you give that guy money? And I say, man, does a lady, a
- 14:32successful lady that you're dating, giving you money change
- 14:36the dynamic of that relationship?
- 14:38Or are you happy to date somebody who is willing to
- 14:45provide or build with you? Let me know what you think.
