Transcript
- 0:20Speaker 1: But what's going on? Everybody. I'm the one, the only
- 0:23Speaker 1: the w o o kay i e a hungover w
- 0:27Speaker 1: o o kay i E here with my my favorite
- 0:31Speaker 1: kid in my science class, Dexter. Hello everybody, and of
- 0:36Speaker 1: course my right hand man, who's gonna really take the
- 0:40Speaker 1: take the brunt of this episode, mister Cole Rodney.
- 0:45Speaker 2: We uh yeah, I mean I talk too much all
- 0:49Speaker 2: the time.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Oh you don't. I don't understand. It's a three man podcast.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I don't understand, Like I talk too Buch. I'm gonna
- 0:55Speaker 1: let you guys talk now. You have all the information.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Like half of time, when we're like, I wonder this
- 1:01Speaker 1: thing and you're like, well I might know something, and
- 1:03Speaker 1: you're like, well tell us that. You're like, ah, maybe
- 1:06Speaker 1: next week, and then you're like, but I'm going to
- 1:08Speaker 1: keep it quiet this week. Like that's that's the typical
- 1:13Speaker 1: like loop we go in every single week. But it's okay,
- 1:18Speaker 1: we're going into what we're calling this week the moonisode.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I guess. Oh, I feel like this is a very
- 1:28Speaker 1: terrible statistic. Over fifty percent of the cast is now
- 1:31Speaker 1: plays Muna. There are only three of us, so.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so it is it is statistically correct.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Over there it is?
- 1:44Speaker 2: Okay, well, also so that people stay longer. This is
- 1:50Speaker 2: actually we're talking about why Ortists is the best? Uh
- 1:54Speaker 2: So just make sure you stick around for the whole
- 1:57Speaker 2: thing and you'll hear about why Ortists is that?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Is that a April fools thing that we're doing this week?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess it's kind of April fools. I just
- 2:08Speaker 2: titled the live show why or this is the best
- 2:11Speaker 2: as a joke, because if I titled it the Muona
- 2:15Speaker 2: so then maybe nobody would come.
- 2:18Speaker 3: People don't like Muna of this whole thing that everybody
- 2:21Speaker 3: liked Muna.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I think Muna is the most popular faction numbers wise,
- 2:29Speaker 2: but I don't know if it's the most popular faction
- 2:31Speaker 2: amongst people that join the live cast.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Okay, I bet you it is. I would put I
- 2:41Speaker 1: would put good, good money on if we pulled, everyone
- 2:45Speaker 1: would say, Muna is probably be up there. It'd be
- 2:48Speaker 1: up there. I don't know how far. Oh.
- 2:50Speaker 4: No, we see a lot of Axiom people here.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Surprisingly we see one Axiom person.
- 2:56Speaker 3: There's three different ones, aren't there, Indorvian and no I
- 2:59Speaker 3: forgot the people's names.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and Dorvian Doombringer and.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I know that much.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Maybe it's just them too.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I think different people play a lot of variation. Yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 2: like Freeloader plays just all over the place, ruin Folk
- 3:22Speaker 2: plays whatever he can play to annoy people. But I
- 3:30Speaker 2: don't know what people that listen to the recording mostly play.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I guess going off of the YouTube comments, what did
- 3:42Speaker 2: what did we get recently? Someone? No, just just comments
- 3:50Speaker 2: on YouTube the YouTube version of the podcast. There's someone
- 3:55Speaker 2: making a Lindaway deck. Let's see someone the same. Someone
- 4:02Speaker 2: is also playing at Saudi. Yeah, I don't know if
- 4:08Speaker 2: we've had anything.
- 4:09Speaker 3: A lot of people play multiple heroes, multiple factions.
- 4:12Speaker 2: I don't know if we've had any other express I
- 4:16Speaker 2: play this. So if you hear this, let us know
- 4:21Speaker 2: what you play. But we're going to talk about Muna because,
- 4:26Speaker 2: like I said, over fifty percent of the cast now
- 4:29Speaker 2: has been playing a lot of Muna.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Yeah all right, Well not me, though I've not I've
- 4:39Speaker 1: not taken the hurdle in.
- 4:40Speaker 4: You haven't touched moon.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Though I haven't touched the moon. I ain't gonna lie
- 4:43Speaker 1: to nobody. So first off, we need to ask the question, Dexter,
- 4:50Speaker 1: why did you switch from artists to Muna?
- 4:54Speaker 3: Because Waru kept getting nerved and that sucked, and I
- 4:59Speaker 3: really enjoyed for a long time. And it became just
- 5:03Speaker 3: after that nerve where it now no longer makes a
- 5:06Speaker 3: token and you're forced to always put it asleep, destroyed
- 5:10Speaker 3: it completely. It is now completely meta, irrelevant and very
- 5:13Speaker 3: difficult to win games with. And I do not like
- 5:16Speaker 3: playing if I cannot win games, So I didn't play.
- 5:22Speaker 4: I didn't play Waru anymore.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I tried Stiggy for a little bit, but it just
- 5:27Speaker 3: didn't vibe with me as well as Waru, and I'd
- 5:30Speaker 3: played Tasia.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Some prior, so I just kept playing it.
- 5:34Speaker 3: And I enjoyed the anchoring and boosting aspect that Taja
- 5:37Speaker 3: have Teja has, and how it can The Floral tent
- 5:41Speaker 3: is great in that is probably the new best edition
- 5:46Speaker 3: in Trial by Frost. That makes it so much better.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Lets you go through your cards a lot faster and
- 5:51Speaker 3: play a more agro build.
- 5:52Speaker 4: So I've been playing the Agro Tajia build.
- 5:57Speaker 1: That's the other one. Everyone else just has this, Matt
- 5:59Speaker 1: And I was just gonna say, everyone's got this rock
- 6:03Speaker 1: hard hard on for Tasia all Tatasia, Tasia, Taya so
- 6:08Speaker 1: tired of hearing about Tasa.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Well, it's it's the easiest mona hero to play because
- 6:16Speaker 2: you you don't have to do too much extra to
- 6:22Speaker 2: work around her hero ability. I've just played her since
- 6:29Speaker 2: day one, basically, back when I first started playing with
- 6:35Speaker 2: demo decks or doing the road show, there wasn't written
- 6:41Speaker 2: or our June, so I've just kind of always been
- 6:45Speaker 2: on Tasia. And I think now I just don't have
- 6:50Speaker 2: the time to make decks for the other two, especially
- 6:53Speaker 2: with the Tumults coming up, So I'm gonna be on
- 6:57Speaker 2: on Tasia for at least the rest of this season.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Okay, I mean I still might switch from Tasia if
- 7:06Speaker 3: something weird happens and all of a sudden Finn starts
- 7:11Speaker 3: doing really good, I would be perfectly happy building a
- 7:14Speaker 3: fin deck.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I hate We'll just not We'll just.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Be saying without good uniques.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Yep, I'm just not gonna talk about it because I
- 7:25Speaker 2: want to keep you on Tasia, so I just won't
- 7:29Speaker 2: say anything to prove you wrong.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Oh no, now you need to say it, Come on
- 7:34Speaker 1: out with it.
- 7:37Speaker 3: It's but I don't think it's been doing that crazy good.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I think Fenn is probably the most versatile hero right now.
- 7:50Speaker 2: And I think Fenn is the best against any other hero,
- 7:58Speaker 2: so like, uh, you know, with Tasia there's some very
- 8:03Speaker 2: strong counters, like Kojo can be really hard, although my
- 8:08Speaker 2: new version is doing decent so far against Kojo. I
- 8:13Speaker 2: think I'm two and one or two and zero against
- 8:16Speaker 2: Kojo's on the two point zero version. But Siggy is
- 8:21Speaker 2: is really hard to go against. That's what I went
- 8:25Speaker 2: against tonight in Ace, and I just got Siggy very
- 8:32Speaker 2: good unique that put things to sleep on play. Basically
- 8:37Speaker 2: it was a root inscribe I think just destroyed me.
- 8:42Speaker 2: But yeah, I think Fenn is very very good, and
- 8:46Speaker 2: she has been getting a lot more results in the
- 8:50Speaker 2: past three weeks or so. Yeah, so I like to
- 8:56Speaker 2: This is actually kind of insight into how I look
- 9:00Speaker 2: at things. I don't really scrub the data and do
- 9:05Speaker 2: like further analysis. But if you go to thirty nine
- 9:08Speaker 2: cards dot Com and you go to the hero section,
- 9:13Speaker 2: you can just see a quick glance at like how
- 9:17Speaker 2: many placements the hero has. It'll have like the most recent,
- 9:23Speaker 2: and then it'll'll say and one hundred and sixty seven more.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Right now, Tasia and Fen are basically like tied for placements,
- 9:35Speaker 2: and then if you go down to Wau Wau is
- 9:40Speaker 2: at one hundred and four ish basically, But if you
- 9:46Speaker 2: go back far enough into like October, like if we
- 9:54Speaker 2: take Exalts Celebration Season one, can I find this in
- 10:02Speaker 2: the list? There was a period of time and if
- 10:05Speaker 2: people are newer to the game, they might not have
- 10:08Speaker 2: experienced this. But first place WARU, third place war it's
- 10:15Speaker 2: a sixth war, seventh war, eighth Wau, ninth WAH, tenth WARU,
- 10:22Speaker 2: eleventh waru uh, and then Kojo trace sigis marifanis Waru.
- 10:28Speaker 2: So uh. It is always very interesting. This is a
- 10:31Speaker 2: side note, kind of very interesting to me when people
- 10:35Speaker 2: say that the meta is not very diverse, because I
- 10:41Speaker 2: think what it.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Looked like a lot better now.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, what it looked like in October is more.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Like what what people are saying is happening.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, But why no goring. You tried goring
- 10:57Speaker 2: for like a day.
- 10:59Speaker 3: I tried it for probably about a week. It was
- 11:02Speaker 3: just hard for me to get going. I didn't really
- 11:04Speaker 3: see any lines that I was able to win frequently.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Tiggy I was able to win pretty often.
- 11:10Speaker 3: But I just didn't enjoy how it played, how it
- 11:14Speaker 3: felt like I didn't feel like I was playing it right,
- 11:18Speaker 3: and you I just really wanted those busted uniques, and
- 11:21Speaker 3: if I didn't have them, I'm like, Eh, this just
- 11:23Speaker 3: feels not my style. So I didn't like it. Yeah,
- 11:28Speaker 3: so I like TSA more. Tasia's more fun. Anchoring is cool.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Yeah, if I if I make it down to the
- 11:37Speaker 2: I guess event on the twenty six, we might have
- 11:41Speaker 2: to make you play Finn.
- 11:43Speaker 4: So make me play Finn. Why fellas playing Finn?
- 11:49Speaker 2: Because I don't want to. I don't want to beat
- 11:51Speaker 2: you and knock you out of getting one of those
- 11:53Speaker 2: Scout cards.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Oh okay, sure confident?
- 12:01Speaker 2: Uh probably not because you play very meta and I don't.
- 12:04Speaker 2: So that increases chances?
- 12:08Speaker 4: It does. Indeed, what are you?
- 12:13Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on Muna in general? Wookie?
- 12:17Speaker 1: I think Muna dumb. It's just not my Again, we
- 12:22Speaker 1: talked a lot about style already. It ain't my style.
- 12:27Speaker 1: It's just it and not not not for Wookie. I
- 12:31Speaker 1: don't like it. Sorry, there's there's not you know, I remember.
- 12:36Speaker 1: You know what really turned me off to Muna, like
- 12:40Speaker 1: all together talking to me, no was when I think
- 12:45Speaker 1: it was when Robin Hood originally had gotten Arota and
- 12:52Speaker 1: everyone's oh, now Tajia is gonna take over, and it's like, oh,
- 12:57Speaker 1: so there's I was like, so there's no other good here,
- 12:59Speaker 1: and I don't know you Muna players are all like, uh,
- 13:03Speaker 1: like Cubs fans, right, Like you're kind of irritated. Not
- 13:08Speaker 1: all of you, but a lot of you are just
- 13:10Speaker 1: kind of like, yep, Moon to best now ever, and
- 13:13Speaker 1: even though you're gonna lose a hundred games this season,
- 13:16Speaker 1: like Moon is the best. What there's plenty of other heroes.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Un is the best because Muna is the best, and.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Like you're you're still gonna have a losing record, but
- 13:28Speaker 1: you're like moona best.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly so irritated action should be.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Now.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I I think.
- 13:37Speaker 1: They're a little too loyal, little too loyal.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Always loyal. There's a subset of people that I think
- 13:45Speaker 2: are just reactionary to those type of things. And now
- 13:50Speaker 2: they've turned their sights on to the anchoring uniques. So
- 13:55Speaker 2: the big thing is about how anchoring uniques are the
- 13:59Speaker 2: most rusted in the game. And you'll definitely hear that
- 14:04Speaker 2: from a lot of artist players for some reason.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Well probably because all of their good cards were recently
- 14:12Speaker 1: eroded to oblivion.
- 14:15Speaker 4: It was the only Osma Wookie.
- 14:17Speaker 1: They don't even exist anymore.
- 14:20Speaker 2: They're still.
- 14:23Speaker 4: What are you talking about? What's what doesn't exist anymore?
- 14:26Speaker 1: Ortis has gotten hit pretty hard. Let's be honest.
- 14:30Speaker 4: I think is still top hero.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Yeah, he's still pulling tons of weight. I think Ortists
- 14:37Speaker 2: just has too many tools to be hit very hard.
- 14:41Speaker 4: More training is so good.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Statistically, Axiom has been hit the hardest and actually fallen.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Get the hardest.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Yeah. The Haven just completely took.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Out Trace was the only Axiom hero pulling any weight
- 15:02Speaker 3: in the meta. They killed Traced, So no Axiom has nothing.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah wow, like that that article that we went over
- 15:12Speaker 2: last week, Yeah, that had the breakdown and Axioms at
- 15:18Speaker 2: eleven point four percent of played and then.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Doing just fine. I'm looking at their stats A Wall
- 15:30Speaker 1: Season two week eight, they had two five and two's
- 15:33Speaker 1: if they had an eleventh place finish in the AQZ
- 15:37Speaker 1: eleventh in A Wall season two, five and one in
- 15:41Speaker 1: the No Uniques is it the No Uniques Challenge or
- 15:44Speaker 1: No Uniques Championship Championship Championship? Okay, I mean they're doing
- 15:50Speaker 1: just fine. I think a lot of Axiom players are
- 15:53Speaker 1: just crying. But you know, to be fair, everyone cries
- 15:58Speaker 1: when their favorite cards get hit. I don't know if
- 16:01Speaker 1: the Axiom has been hit that hard. Yeah, well they
- 16:04Speaker 1: had one card targeted.
- 16:07Speaker 2: It took them down to the very bottom. So I
- 16:12Speaker 2: I think people are very I've already said it a
- 16:14Speaker 2: million times. People are reactionary to bands or erratas. But statistically,
- 16:22Speaker 2: if there's any faction that suffered the most, it's been Axiom.
- 16:28Speaker 2: But I think the meta is just in a pretty
- 16:31Speaker 2: good place right now. If you say that in the
- 16:35Speaker 2: main discord, though, you'll have three people that will want
- 16:38Speaker 2: to fight you.
- 16:38Speaker 1: So well, that's any card game, though, Let's let's be
- 16:45Speaker 1: honest with that. Get one. Anytime you're anytime you have
- 16:48Speaker 1: somebody that's like the meta is in a good place,
- 16:50Speaker 1: there's somebody's gonna be like, oh yeah, it's like that
- 16:55Speaker 1: guy who posts on Facebook, like just posts a picture
- 16:58Speaker 1: or like, uh, this is just a proof people want
- 17:00Speaker 1: to fight about anything. It's just a picture and like
- 17:04Speaker 1: that it's nothing. Yep, no, no, aw, I don't like it.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I don't like it because my favorite faction isn't doing
- 17:14Speaker 1: well and that's kind of just a problem in any
- 17:16Speaker 1: faction based game.
- 17:18Speaker 2: But yeah, I had someone call me the guy who
- 17:25Speaker 2: believes in fake chart. So it's fake?
- 17:29Speaker 4: What?
- 17:30Speaker 2: Yeah, fake chart chart?
- 17:33Speaker 1: Because yeah, that's my next question.
- 17:38Speaker 2: The infographic. The chart we were just talking about that
- 17:43Speaker 2: they put in the news articles showing the faction spread.
- 17:46Speaker 2: It's fake.
- 17:47Speaker 4: Know what? Who's saying that this chart is fake?
- 17:53Speaker 2: People in the main discord? Man, I'm telling you, but.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I literally said that they just grabbed the data directly
- 17:59Speaker 3: from Board Game Arena.
- 18:00Speaker 4: How would they Why would they fake it?
- 18:04Speaker 2: It's just fake, man, It's.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Just fake, fake news.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Yep. But we're here to talk about.
- 18:13Speaker 1: My question is what what would they have to gain
- 18:16Speaker 1: by posting?
- 18:19Speaker 2: They gained the fact of pretending that the meta is
- 18:22Speaker 2: in a good place when really it's.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Not, And that kinde fits that. Sorry, I'm going to continue. Honestly,
- 18:33Speaker 1: how where does this benefit them?
- 18:37Speaker 2: You'd have to ask the people who uh don't like
- 18:42Speaker 2: the chart in the discord.
- 18:44Speaker 1: So see, now I'm going to post the discord and
- 18:46Speaker 1: be like, all right, which what are you morons? Doesn't
- 18:48Speaker 1: like the chart? And I'm not going to get any
- 18:50Speaker 1: answers or I'm going to get like a million and
- 18:53Speaker 1: be like.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Oh, like prove prove prove it, Like go on thirty
- 18:59Speaker 5: nine cards and you can look all at all these
- 19:01Speaker 5: tournaments that are coming out or all these tournaments that
- 19:04Speaker 5: are out.
- 19:04Speaker 1: It's it's it's a pretty wide range of diversity, yep.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I mean if if if you.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Know, only first place matters and only first place is siggy,
- 19:17Speaker 2: don't you know.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Well, no, that's not true at all. Right, I'm on
- 19:20Speaker 1: thirty nine cards right now, let's a wall season two
- 19:24Speaker 1: top of the finest to be fair, the next three
- 19:28Speaker 1: positions are sigismar, and then we got Lindway in a fawness,
- 19:32Speaker 1: and then more sigasmar so. I mean, you know the
- 19:36Speaker 1: no unique championship, we got fen sig Kojo traced kojo
- 19:41Speaker 1: kojo sig sig. I mean it's let's see a season
- 19:46Speaker 1: two a finess a. That's somebody that's not even talked about. Yizmeir,
- 19:53Speaker 1: like totally flying below the well. I guess not because
- 19:56Speaker 1: some of their stuff is being looked at, for chin,
- 20:00Speaker 1: but like Yazmir kind of flying under everybody's radar, Like
- 20:04Speaker 1: do Yazmir players just not poke anybody and hope nobody
- 20:07Speaker 1: pokes back. Or what's the deal.
- 20:10Speaker 2: They have a lot of cards that got on the
- 20:12Speaker 2: watch list.
- 20:12Speaker 1: No, no, I saw, We saw that last week. We talked
- 20:15Speaker 1: about it, right, like most of Yazmir dek is on
- 20:19Speaker 1: a watch list right now.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know it's like they're kind of like
- 20:25Speaker 1: super under the radar, Like nobody's really angry. Bravos is another.
- 20:29Speaker 4: One almost isn't doing that great?
- 20:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, but nobody really cares either, right, Myron
- 20:37Speaker 1: and Allen, I feel like nobody cares.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Bravos doesn't have anything that's too annoying that can
- 20:46Speaker 2: make too many people mad. It's really just Ortis and
- 20:51Speaker 2: a fawness. Not even Yazmir except for I hate Akesha
- 20:55Speaker 2: because of the way people play her. M.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I mean, if I were to be old, if I
- 21:04Speaker 1: were to build a moon a deck, y'all know what
- 21:07Speaker 1: I'm building rin Yeah.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yep, you you could make a very good written deck
- 21:14Speaker 2: right now.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Your rin Fest deck. I'm all about that. Yeah. No, festival, yeah, absolutely,
- 21:21Speaker 1: of course it's going to be festival. Why would it
- 21:24Speaker 1: not be festival?
- 21:26Speaker 2: All right? Then I cannot help you make a written deck.
- 21:28Speaker 1: You can totally well, you know, there's plenty of people
- 21:31Speaker 1: online or information online about how to do as such.
- 21:35Speaker 1: But you know, I, you know I love alternate wind
- 21:39Speaker 1: conditions and if you dangle the carrot, I'm gonna take it.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Wasn't it just two weeks ago I heard you complaining
- 21:47Speaker 2: about key sheets?
- 21:49Speaker 3: Mmmm?
- 21:50Speaker 1: No, no, I don't believe so. But that's a different,
- 21:56Speaker 1: totally different show. Completely No I was I complained about
- 22:01Speaker 1: So they're completely different. But all right, what do we
- 22:05Speaker 1: got coming up next? All right? So what have you got?
- 22:08Speaker 1: I mean, we know, Dexter, you're playing. Are you playing Taja?
- 22:12Speaker 4: Yes? Probably?
- 22:14Speaker 1: What do you what do you plan? I mean we're
- 22:16Speaker 1: looking at Tumult Championships here right now.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Right, yeah, Dexter, this this question I wrote more as
- 22:24Speaker 2: like what kind of deck have you been playing? What
- 22:28Speaker 2: have you built around?
- 22:31Speaker 4: Like?
- 22:31Speaker 2: What's your what are you thinking on your deck?
- 22:34Speaker 3: I mean I kind of carried the same ortist logic
- 22:38Speaker 3: into Muna, and it's like small is good, go wide.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Have have lots of small.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Dudes and get as much draw as possible. So you know,
- 22:50Speaker 3: my deck has a lot of small dudes. The there's
- 22:54Speaker 3: no card that costs more than three in it Aliver,
- 22:57Speaker 3: like kind of costs more than three if.
- 22:59Speaker 4: You want to anchor it, but not really.
- 23:03Speaker 3: But yeah, all my cards are one, two, or three costs,
- 23:06Speaker 3: and I have every card that can give you draw
- 23:09Speaker 3: that's any good. So I have three al of eras,
- 23:12Speaker 3: three rare spindle harvesters, and three floral tents. So I'm
- 23:18Speaker 3: just going low to the ground, playing lots of stuff
- 23:21Speaker 3: and trying to get as many cards as possible.
- 23:25Speaker 2: And you still haven't started tracking your games yet.
- 23:30Speaker 4: I don't track games.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Let's track work games.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yeah, who does that? Bunch of fun?
- 23:36Speaker 3: I mean, I'm only playing like five a week at
- 23:38Speaker 3: the most.
- 23:40Speaker 4: I'm in college. I don't have all the time in
- 23:42Speaker 4: the world.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Do you what do you mean by track games? Do you?
- 23:45Speaker 1: How do you track your games?
- 23:46Speaker 3: Called like put them in an XL spreadsheet and be like,
- 23:49Speaker 3: I played against Finn on this day, I lost.
- 23:52Speaker 4: By this much, and you like take notes and everything.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I did that just for one of and just to
- 24:00Speaker 2: kind of break down how the deck was going, because
- 24:04Speaker 2: I have a thread in the main alter discord where
- 24:07Speaker 2: I'm tracking, like how I'm making my deck. But we
- 24:11Speaker 2: we made uh mostly z may he rest in peace?
- 24:19Speaker 1: Spreadsheets.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I made the basis of a game tracking spreadsheet
- 24:26Speaker 2: and then I kind of like edited it up and
- 24:29Speaker 2: made it so we could share it out. So it
- 24:33Speaker 2: is on the on the Patreon for free. You can
- 24:36Speaker 2: grab it and make a copy. So I just track
- 24:39Speaker 2: my decks and then my matchup history against my opponents
- 24:44Speaker 2: the like, I know that my new Tumult deck is
- 24:48Speaker 2: two and oh against Kojo so far h one and
- 24:52Speaker 2: oh against Akesha, and then zero and one against Basira,
- 24:57Speaker 2: and then if I add I lost to Ciggy in
- 25:02Speaker 2: Ace tonight, so zero and one against Siggy so far yep.
- 25:08Speaker 2: So just that so I can kind of see what
- 25:11Speaker 2: my worst matchup is go back to that.
- 25:14Speaker 1: So then when you come up against a minute Tumult,
- 25:16Speaker 1: you're like, man, I just auto lose. You just hit
- 25:18Speaker 1: the conceed button right away? Is that the deler?
- 25:21Speaker 2: I never concede, never surrender. I literally have never conceded
- 25:27Speaker 2: a game of Altered.
- 25:27Speaker 3: I've never conceded and altered either. I've conceded a lot
- 25:30Speaker 3: in Keyfords, but never an altered. Literally, I've tried to concede,
- 25:36Speaker 3: and I'm like, but no, I pretty much always play
- 25:40Speaker 3: it out unless it's like literally the last day and
- 25:44Speaker 3: I see that my opponent will beat me. In at
- 25:47Speaker 3: least one expedition and there's nothing I can do about it,
- 25:49Speaker 3: then I'll concede because I don't want to play more cards.
- 25:52Speaker 3: I'm basically just passing at that point to let them win.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a little bit of a difference between passing
- 25:59Speaker 2: because you know you have nothing versus like actually conceding.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Though I did not even concede that one match against
- 26:10Speaker 2: Akesha that went fifty six minutes.
- 26:14Speaker 4: That's wow, good for you.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess or I'm just stubborn. Who knows?
- 26:22Speaker 4: Do you have any good Muna uniques?
- 26:23Speaker 3: Because the two I have were kind of meh, and
- 26:27Speaker 3: I only have two.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I've been playing Muna since the start, so of course
- 26:31Speaker 2: I do.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Could I borrow some for two more? Maybe? See if
- 26:35Speaker 3: you have any I like?
- 26:37Speaker 2: It depends if it depends on if the ones that
- 26:39Speaker 2: I have I have in paper or not. Oh okay,
- 26:45Speaker 2: I So my current Tumult two point zero deck is
- 26:51Speaker 2: I have removed the spindle Bashian because I go against
- 26:58Speaker 2: fens so much and it just never stays out. Yes,
- 27:02Speaker 2: So my thought process is I have floral tent, which
- 27:06Speaker 2: is my protection for my anchored things. And then since
- 27:11Speaker 2: there is no Munabastian. I have no spindle harvesters because
- 27:16Speaker 2: they not even the commons Nope, because they're just not
- 27:20Speaker 2: very good with them. The boost from the Bastian.
- 27:25Speaker 3: See, I'm also in two Kirn's and two rare nurtures
- 27:30Speaker 3: to boost those spindle harvesters upstance.
- 27:32Speaker 4: I have the three rare spindle.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Harvesters to just try to get as much cards as possible.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I also use Kirraene. I like him better than Ogun. Yes,
- 27:47Speaker 2: for sure, Meta is probably Ogun, but they cost the same,
- 27:53Speaker 2: and Kirene can boost himself and then is not limited
- 28:00Speaker 2: to just plants. So Ogun is really freaking crazy if
- 28:05Speaker 2: you if.
- 28:05Speaker 3: You have a really wide board yeah, which is if
- 28:09Speaker 3: you don't have that, then Kirene stronger.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Yep. So I like to.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Ye, I'll probably take out Jack Frost. It's really only
- 28:23Speaker 3: good into Finn.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I have instead of Jack Frost, I have Snoozer's
- 28:31Speaker 2: room because my thought on Jack Frost is he is
- 28:35Speaker 2: much better at Rare, and I think he is very
- 28:39Speaker 2: good in Muna at Rare, but I do not have sorry,
- 28:46Speaker 2: I do not have the rare slots to have him
- 28:50Speaker 2: because my my signature Muna deck has been and hopefully
- 28:56Speaker 2: will continue to be.
- 28:58Speaker 4: Have still running time. It's such a bad card. It's
- 29:04Speaker 4: not good.
- 29:06Speaker 2: How is it not good?
- 29:09Speaker 1: Dexter?
- 29:10Speaker 3: You need bad hard advantage in this game, Dexter, you
- 29:13Speaker 3: need card advantage. And most of the time you're playing
- 29:16Speaker 3: the Tiny Gin, you're getting bad stats and you're only
- 29:20Speaker 3: getting to play one card and then yeah, I get
- 29:23Speaker 3: a Mana. But normally Muna's problem is that they run
- 29:26Speaker 3: out of cards. So having extra Mana if you don't
- 29:30Speaker 3: have any cards to play is not helpful.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Yeah, well, maybe you don't need as many cards if
- 29:37Speaker 2: you have a lot of anchored things and you have
- 29:39Speaker 2: a Mogli like I have.
- 29:41Speaker 4: What does your Mogli do?
- 29:45Speaker 2: About fifty of the time whenever I play my Mogli,
- 29:49Speaker 2: someone says, oh, that Mogli is so nice. So because
- 29:54Speaker 2: of my Mogli, which is classic stat wise, it's four
- 29:58Speaker 2: one zero down line and then tiny Gin, which is
- 30:02Speaker 2: zero three zero. I always play tiny Gin with a
- 30:06Speaker 2: Taja boost so it goes straight. So one four one
- 30:11Speaker 2: four Mountain is very easy to sneak a progression off of.
- 30:17Speaker 2: But my new favorite edition is one single copy of
- 30:24Speaker 2: Winter Outfits, and it is very good sneaky at a
- 30:31Speaker 2: single copy because the rare loses fleeting and most people
- 30:40Speaker 2: will not cast removal on winter outfits, but if they do,
- 30:47Speaker 2: it's usually gonna get hit with sabotage or if they
- 30:52Speaker 2: actually spend something to get rid of it. They've just
- 30:55Speaker 2: spent removal on a one costcards. And then you know,
- 31:02Speaker 2: it's good for yourcana, it's good for my parvody, it's
- 31:07Speaker 2: good for.
- 31:08Speaker 4: Uh wait.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Did you say parvody. Yes, see, that's a car that
- 31:15Speaker 3: costs more than three It does, so I don't acknowledge
- 31:21Speaker 3: its existence.
- 31:23Speaker 2: My parvody is very cracked though.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Oh your unique par body Okay.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Yes, yeah. Currently I'm trying a son of Yigdrasil Unique,
- 31:36Speaker 2: and that's another reason for keeping tiny tiny Gin because
- 31:42Speaker 2: it is a six cost But I also have a
- 31:46Speaker 2: couple other higher cost uniques that I might try out,
- 31:51Speaker 2: but tiny Gin is my card. It'll be around for
- 31:55Speaker 2: a very long time. It is my staple. And then
- 32:00Speaker 2: I do have Persephone as well, which has been very
- 32:06Speaker 2: good for Launders down an expedition, especially with the tatoshaboost.
- 32:12Speaker 4: How do you have slots for all these cards? Persephone?
- 32:17Speaker 2: Yep, So I'll run through my rears real quick. I
- 32:20Speaker 2: have three rare Persephone, two tiny Gin, three Kirene, three sneezers, Room,
- 32:29Speaker 2: three ala Vera, one winter outfits. That's all the rares.
- 32:35Speaker 3: So you don't have any thespians or bastions.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Nope, not in this deck. I do have a deck
- 32:43Speaker 2: that has thespians, but this deck I've been testing, I
- 32:47Speaker 2: do not.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Okay, I just need to get more cards because I'm
- 32:52Speaker 3: kind of missing rares, and I have a bunch of
- 32:53Speaker 3: two oves and one oves that are kind of weird.
- 32:56Speaker 4: But it's been working fine for me.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Just resorted the donation box that doesn't have very much
- 33:03Speaker 2: trial by frost.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Got a rare alovera rare spindle harvesters, rare thespian.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Probably not, I don't even have I just barely got
- 33:16Speaker 2: a third ali Vera from phobia like last week. So
- 33:19Speaker 2: I do not have three rare in person. Yeah, but
- 33:26Speaker 2: that is that.
- 33:27Speaker 3: I mean, I've got two boxes? Do I do I
- 33:32Speaker 3: crack some boxes to try to fill out my mona.
- 33:36Speaker 2: You have to just chilling.
- 33:38Speaker 4: I have two Kickstarter boxes.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Dang, you're trying to hold onto those.
- 33:44Speaker 3: I don't know if I like need the cards though
- 33:53Speaker 3: I haven't been.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Really, what do you do?
- 33:55Speaker 1: What do you do with the boxes?
- 33:58Speaker 4: They're at home?
- 33:59Speaker 1: I know, but what are you doing with them?
- 34:01Speaker 4: Like?
- 34:01Speaker 1: Why are you keep them sealed?
- 34:05Speaker 4: Maybe resell them and like.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Later, how's that going for you?
- 34:10Speaker 4: I haven't tried to resell?
- 34:11Speaker 1: You should ask Ze and Zach how.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I know I've seen.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Taking a look at prices for Kickstarter, which.
- 34:25Speaker 1: We have, we haven't looked at in a while.
- 34:27Speaker 4: It's topicly like it used.
- 34:29Speaker 1: To be a segment that we looked at, but we
- 34:35Speaker 1: haven't looked at it in a while.
- 34:38Speaker 4: We don't need cards.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Let's see yep, one hundred bucks beyond the game Kickstarter
- 34:44Speaker 1: edition one O nine ninety nine. Gamer Skilled has them
- 34:47Speaker 1: for one forty four free shipping though free ship.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Yeah, eBay is one hundred bucks. If you shop around
- 34:56Speaker 2: you can find them. If you do want a kicks
- 35:00Speaker 2: arter box for close to one hundred dollars, joined the
- 35:04Speaker 2: Altered Corner Discord and at big z he would love
- 35:07Speaker 2: to sell you one.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Oh did he take them down? Part? I'm a Patreon.
- 35:12Speaker 4: I think I think he took them.
- 35:14Speaker 3: I think he put him down to like he's been
- 35:17Speaker 3: posting a little bit in the marketplace.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Last thing he said was one hundred dollars each.
- 35:26Speaker 2: They don't offer the deal through the Patreon anymore. That
- 35:31Speaker 2: was just a limited time thing. Oh yeah, I would
- 35:39Speaker 2: say it might be a very good time to open them,
- 35:43Speaker 2: maybe this week, for no reason other than it might
- 35:47Speaker 2: be a good time to open them this week.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, and some championships.
- 35:54Speaker 3: I mean, I am getting my box, so once I
- 35:56Speaker 3: resort all my keyfords and altered stuff, I guess I'll
- 35:59Speaker 3: have some to open some more.
- 36:02Speaker 1: I was actually thinking about this because you actually when
- 36:05Speaker 1: you were like, oh, I don't have a lot of
- 36:08Speaker 1: my cards in physical form, I was like, you know what,
- 36:11Speaker 1: I wonder how many other people are like kind of
- 36:14Speaker 1: in that situation where like they have cards on their
- 36:20Speaker 1: discs or on their you know, BGA account that they've
- 36:23Speaker 1: traded and whatever, but they only have the the digital version.
- 36:29Speaker 1: They don't have anything. They don't actually have a physical card,
- 36:32Speaker 1: and there's no shipping yet. There's no uh is it the.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Marketplace marketplace and print on demand?
- 36:40Speaker 1: Print on demand isn't available yet, So how many people
- 36:42Speaker 1: are going to go in these uh go to these
- 36:44Speaker 1: events and not have what they need?
- 36:48Speaker 2: Probably a good amount. But in my case, I just
- 36:51Speaker 2: also had don't care, like if I don't have if
- 36:56Speaker 2: I don't have three, AlOH, I just won't play three yallow.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I think the people that are very serious about it
- 37:04Speaker 2: and very much like I have to have three of three,
- 37:08Speaker 2: I think a lot of them have gotten what they want.
- 37:12Speaker 2: I'm kind of like Lucy Goosey, just trade things around
- 37:16Speaker 2: and not care. I'm, you know, more in it for
- 37:20Speaker 2: the fun in the community. The other the other week
- 37:24Speaker 2: on discord, I was like, here are all my uniques
- 37:27Speaker 2: that I'm maybe not using. If you want one, just
- 37:29Speaker 2: let me know and I'll let it go for easy.
- 37:32Speaker 2: And then I just made a trade with someone even
- 37:34Speaker 2: though I didn't really want what they had, but I
- 37:37Speaker 2: was like, sure, if you want this one that bad,
- 37:39Speaker 2: let's do it.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Is a thought that kind of had popped into my head.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, I wonder, yeah, I won I
- 37:48Speaker 1: don't know what my local area looks like because my
- 37:52Speaker 1: local area all play on days that I'm not able
- 37:54Speaker 1: to make it thanks local area, which one of them
- 38:01Speaker 1: is a day that we podcast, which was strange. I
- 38:03Speaker 1: thought Friday would have been a safe data like podcasts
- 38:06Speaker 1: due to magic you know, uh, you know Friday Night Magic.
- 38:11Speaker 1: They don't really have a magic community. Well, it's that
- 38:15Speaker 1: it's that miniatures place called Battle Brothers. They do more
- 38:20Speaker 1: miniatures than anything.
- 38:21Speaker 4: But they don't have Friday Night Magic.
- 38:24Speaker 1: They have that magic, but they don't have like it's
- 38:27Speaker 1: not a huge it's not a huge.
- 38:29Speaker 4: Like okay, so they can still have they.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Can still do alter. They have enough space for altered.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Yeah, probably probably a good amount. But if people are
- 38:41Speaker 2: super super serious about it, they're probably finding a way
- 38:45Speaker 2: to get their cards, or whenever they buy or trade
- 38:50Speaker 2: some online, they probably do so with hopes or intentions
- 38:55Speaker 2: that the person they're getting it from will ship them out.
- 39:00Speaker 2: I have traded with a couple of people who are
- 39:02Speaker 2: very adamant about having it shipped, and these days I
- 39:08Speaker 2: just tell people, I'm like, look, it's probably going to
- 39:11Speaker 2: cost more than this card is worth, and I can't
- 39:14Speaker 2: guarantee that it'll make it there if it's out of
- 39:16Speaker 2: the United States, So do you really want me to
- 39:19Speaker 2: ship it to you? It might also take a month
- 39:22Speaker 2: and a half.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I could. I could see if it's upside of
- 39:25Speaker 1: if it's you know, out of us, that would make
- 39:28Speaker 1: a lot of sense. But like in the US, I
- 39:31Speaker 1: mean again, print on demands still not available. It's can
- 39:35Speaker 1: of a bummer. We haven't really heard. We just heard
- 39:38Speaker 1: it was it's coming soon again. What was that? That
- 39:41Speaker 1: was probably about a month ago.
- 39:42Speaker 2: No, there is an AMA tomorrow. The last update was
- 39:49Speaker 2: on the like sixteenth or something. They've been very communicative,
- 39:57Speaker 2: they keep giving updates. So twenty first, Dang, it was
- 40:03Speaker 2: the twenty first when we last heard. That is nine
- 40:06Speaker 2: days ago.
- 40:07Speaker 1: No, was it twenty first of this month? Yeah? Oh wow,
- 40:10Speaker 1: it seems like forever ago, maybe because it was just
- 40:13Speaker 1: the same news Like wasn't like much of anything. It
- 40:16Speaker 1: was just kind of like, yep, still not there. We'll
- 40:18Speaker 1: go let you know.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Yeah, they gave a bunch of ins and outs and
- 40:22Speaker 2: technical details and stuff and how their progress was. But yeah,
- 40:28Speaker 2: AMA tomorrow. So depending on my meetings, I'll try to
- 40:32Speaker 2: watch that and if myself or Simon or someone else
- 40:38Speaker 2: doesn't write a rundown, then I'll watch it back and
- 40:42Speaker 2: write a rundown. So we'll probably be talking about it
- 40:47Speaker 2: a week from today about on the next episode.
- 40:49Speaker 1: We go say who normally does the breakdowns? They write
- 40:53Speaker 1: a little I don't know if you want to call
- 40:54Speaker 1: it an article or but they kind of put it
- 40:56Speaker 1: in there.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Yeah, so we do have the altered TCG blog. It's
- 41:03Speaker 2: altered TCG dot blog. They've been spinning up a lot
- 41:07Speaker 2: more content lately. And then the last two recaps were
- 41:14Speaker 2: by Simon because I was not able, and then.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Maybe we should see if we can get Simon on.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Is Simon overseas or he is the local state side
- 41:25Speaker 1: since so just like right by me?
- 41:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe we.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Should see if we can get him on because he's
- 41:33Speaker 1: the one writing them. He'll he'll know a good chunk
- 41:35Speaker 1: about him.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he plays like six different TCGs a week, but
- 41:42Speaker 2: you know, we'll see what else. I found out like
- 41:46Speaker 2: last week that he plays like classic yu gi oh
- 41:50Speaker 2: like every other one or something like that.
- 41:52Speaker 1: What's classic now I'm interested.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Like not like current set, Like I don't remember what
- 42:01Speaker 2: the word is they have for it, but it's like yeah, yeah,
- 42:06Speaker 2: it's similar to that where it's like you can use
- 42:10Speaker 2: the old cards or something and it's not like new
- 42:13Speaker 2: meta meta. I don't know, I don't know, you.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Gi Okay, Well that's one card game. What are the
- 42:19Speaker 1: other five? Okay, so there's two.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a Pokemon, Judge plays Magic. That's a good
- 42:28Speaker 2: deal about Magic plays all of those actively weekly. So
- 42:36Speaker 2: that is that is about five because plays altered like
- 42:42Speaker 2: three days a week.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Wow. Crazy, that's that's a lot. That's more than I
- 42:49Speaker 1: can do.
- 42:51Speaker 2: It is a lot. But you do have children, so
- 42:53Speaker 2: you have a good excuse I have.
- 42:56Speaker 1: I got three children, work an insane amount of hours.
- 43:04Speaker 1: You know what else? What else? I another podcast, another
- 43:09Speaker 1: game that I try to maintain a lot going on.
- 43:15Speaker 3: It's rough, it's rough, basicrgin key forge.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're a college kid like you you literally
- 43:22Speaker 1: like show up to class, do homework like that's your job.
- 43:26Speaker 3: Yep, yep, and study for exams and then fail them.
- 43:31Speaker 1: I thought you got to see.
- 43:34Speaker 3: I got a sixty five on the first one. I
- 43:36Speaker 3: got a fifty on the second one. Now I have
- 43:38Speaker 3: a C average chemistry?
- 43:41Speaker 4: Is I suck at it?
- 43:43Speaker 1: That's it?
- 43:43Speaker 4: Well?
- 43:43Speaker 1: Can I say no more altered for you? Nothing but
- 43:46Speaker 1: studying for chemistry. Tune in next next week?
- 43:50Speaker 4: Is it for like another three weeks?
- 43:52Speaker 1: Tune in next week for how to balance uh chemical
- 43:55Speaker 1: equations on the show?
- 44:00Speaker 4: Yeah learn chemistry.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Tune in next week. We're doing Dexter's Come homework with him.
- 44:07Speaker 4: Oh man, I don't.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Know if either of us are going to do any
- 44:09Speaker 2: good on that.
- 44:11Speaker 1: You know what, it's enlist sheeps help. It has been
- 44:15Speaker 1: a maybe we might need sheeps help because it's been
- 44:18Speaker 1: a lot. I'm gonna lie to you. It's been a
- 44:20Speaker 1: long time since I took it to chemistry class.
- 44:23Speaker 2: A long time, probably fourteen years for me.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Let's see, I think it was I don't want to say.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Botany and zoology is what I took in college.
- 44:43Speaker 1: I don't even want to say it because I'm a
- 44:44Speaker 1: little little over you. But anyways, what have you guys
- 44:48Speaker 1: learned it? We've got a big question mark, what have
- 44:50Speaker 1: we learned?
- 44:54Speaker 3: Ortis definitely has more tools, but the anchoring is fun.
- 45:00Speaker 3: I love the spindle bastion, making all your guys tough.
- 45:04Speaker 3: I don't know why Cole over here doesn't like it.
- 45:08Speaker 2: That's just because it's not a.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Good matchup against Finn Just the fin matchup makes you
- 45:13Speaker 3: not play it when it's good into everyone else.
- 45:16Speaker 2: I think it's really good in a traditional Metaitasia deck.
- 45:21Speaker 2: That's not what I'm playing. And it's also a hard
- 45:28Speaker 2: sell in anything else because you can waste a whole
- 45:33Speaker 2: turn playing it, and then if it does get removed,
- 45:37Speaker 2: it's very unfortunate.
- 45:39Speaker 4: Again, that's time to play.
- 45:40Speaker 3: It is turned two when you play it, and a
- 45:42Speaker 3: spindle that's perfect.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Yeah, there's since there's you know, a good amount of
- 45:49Speaker 2: fans and a funasis out there. It's it's very hard
- 45:52Speaker 2: to stick with, but it is a ton of fun.
- 45:56Speaker 2: And one of my favorite things is when someone forgets
- 45:59Speaker 2: that it's there and try to cast.
- 46:02Speaker 3: The SPoD and I've done I've done so many times
- 46:07Speaker 3: too when I've been playing against Moonadex.
- 46:10Speaker 4: I just I'm like target character.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Shoot, I forgot about the bastion, and now my whole
- 46:16Speaker 3: turns ruined.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think one of the last games I
- 46:21Speaker 2: played with it, that exact thing happened, and I still
- 46:26Speaker 2: lost because the other side just had way more to
- 46:31Speaker 2: work with than I did, even after their error of
- 46:35Speaker 2: casting a spell and having to off you go their
- 46:38Speaker 2: own character. So I think we've I think we've talked
- 46:44Speaker 2: a lot about like things we've learned and the deck construction.
- 46:50Speaker 2: It is a Sunday night, so we can always speed
- 46:56Speaker 2: through the main topic here. I I think I said
- 47:00Speaker 2: all of my thoughts around my deck. I'm still learning.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Is there any other things you wanted to call out?
- 47:07Speaker 2: Dexter m.
- 47:11Speaker 4: I like Nurture a lot. Nobody else seems to play it.
- 47:14Speaker 3: But having three on the front side for four stats
- 47:17Speaker 3: and then two on the backside for four stats, hitting
- 47:20Speaker 3: that on two guys that are anchored already and then
- 47:24Speaker 3: getting resupplies and then being able to discard to anchor
- 47:26Speaker 3: them again, and just having big stats.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Guys pretty good. I like it. I like Nurtures.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I was very surprised. Oh man, can I type
- 47:38Speaker 2: this name right? I can just grab it from my announcement.
- 47:42Speaker 2: So the person that one ace tonight was playing Tasia.
- 47:49Speaker 2: I believe how you say is Jitak. It's Greek, so
- 47:54Speaker 2: I probably said that very terribly. They have a mostly
- 48:02Speaker 2: pretty classic Tasia deck. Well, they do run Nurture, at
- 48:08Speaker 2: least according to Yeah, so I would assume I'll send
- 48:13Speaker 2: you this listing. I'll post it in the live chat.
- 48:16Speaker 2: The reason that people would play Tasia or played Nurture
- 48:21Speaker 2: in a Tasia deck is if they had uniques just
- 48:24Speaker 2: like this. And it's basically when you have three uniques
- 48:29Speaker 2: or two to three that say, when I gain one
- 48:34Speaker 2: or more boosts, you anchor a character. Those are the
- 48:40Speaker 2: decks that you see nurture in most often. But I
- 48:45Speaker 2: have come to like so a little more than nurture.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Yeah, you run so as well, is the thing. I
- 48:51Speaker 3: run three sos as well.
- 48:53Speaker 4: Nice, and I only have.
- 48:55Speaker 3: One rare Chiron, but I run the one rare chiron
- 48:58Speaker 3: as well.
- 48:59Speaker 4: Yeah, and the three spindles. I like my boost.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Why did you not make it to the end tonight?
- 49:06Speaker 2: What happened?
- 49:09Speaker 4: I got beat by then, is what happened.
- 49:13Speaker 3: It had a very good paper herald Unique that they
- 49:17Speaker 3: played on the second turn and gave two of my
- 49:20Speaker 3: characters fleeting, and then they clothed cocooned one of my
- 49:24Speaker 3: characters that had anchored and fleeting. So there goes my
- 49:29Speaker 3: mushroom and my Dracana, and now I have no cards,
- 49:35Speaker 3: and it did I have no way to come back
- 49:37Speaker 3: if I played two cards expecting one of them to
- 49:41Speaker 3: stay there and then to be able to replay the
- 49:43Speaker 3: other one and then replay the other one, and having
- 49:45Speaker 3: anchored and having cards on the board, I just lost
- 49:49Speaker 3: like basically four cards from those two fleetings. And I'm
- 49:53Speaker 3: just like, well, I can't play anything.
- 49:56Speaker 4: I have no cards anymore.
- 50:00Speaker 3: I didn't see my floral tents or my spindle harvesters
- 50:04Speaker 3: until too late.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Yeah. The classic and build now is basically big reserve
- 50:13Speaker 2: cycle cards create a ton of card advantage, and while
- 50:18Speaker 2: also doing that, they have a ton of disruption, removal, lading,
- 50:25Speaker 2: sabotage like all of it.
- 50:30Speaker 4: Well, it's pretty annoying.
- 50:33Speaker 2: I agree. Floral tent is probably the best New moona
- 50:40Speaker 2: tech out of trial by Frost other than Lost in
- 50:43Speaker 2: the Woods. Lost in the.
- 50:44Speaker 4: Woods Woods is very good.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Our version of cloth I honestly.
- 50:48Speaker 4: Have not gotten much use out of it, but it.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Is a definite must three of And if your opponent
- 50:54Speaker 3: ever gets a big creature that's in grass, get that
- 50:57Speaker 3: out of here.
- 50:58Speaker 4: For three manna yep.
- 51:00Speaker 2: We used to have to run cloth cocoon, but that
- 51:02Speaker 2: has to be rare lost in the wood.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and you don't have the rare slots for it,
- 51:07Speaker 3: so you can drop the cloth cocoon. Now I have
- 51:09Speaker 3: three manna reapings and three Lost in the woods, which
- 51:12Speaker 3: is honestly a lot of removal. I'm thinking about switching
- 51:17Speaker 3: one or two of those manna reapings to Beauty Sleeps
- 51:21Speaker 3: so that I have some cheaper stuff, just because three
- 51:24Speaker 3: is kind of hard.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I run three beauty sleep.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Of course, three beauty Sleep. Okay, do you run any
- 51:30Speaker 3: manna reaping?
- 51:32Speaker 2: No manner reaping, it's too meta. Wow, if you play Muna.
- 51:40Speaker 2: I think my one call out is try a one
- 51:44Speaker 2: off copy of rare Winter outfits and see how you
- 51:48Speaker 2: like it.
- 51:50Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, that's the Rare Winter outfits. See. The only
- 51:55Speaker 4: problem with that is that I need to own one first.
- 51:59Speaker 2: I have of two. If I get extra, I will
- 52:04Speaker 2: give you one.
- 52:05Speaker 3: Okay, that could be interesting. Yeah, it helps you keep
- 52:09Speaker 3: some card advantage there.
- 52:11Speaker 2: Yep. Look he's going to go build a fendeck.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Now, go build I've already built one, already.
- 52:19Speaker 2: Going to build more annoying.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Kind Well, yeah, if I could be more annoying, that's
- 52:25Speaker 1: goal number one.
- 52:28Speaker 2: But first you have to read us some lower And
- 52:32Speaker 2: this is finally the introduction to the world of Altered
- 52:37Speaker 2: I actually didn't have to paraphrase as much as I thought,
- 52:41Speaker 2: because there is a very good introduction here. But I
- 52:45Speaker 2: tacked on the description of alteration because I think it's
- 52:50Speaker 2: a very good intro into some things that we'll talk
- 52:54Speaker 2: about in further episodes.
- 52:56Speaker 1: Do you want me to start an alteration?
- 52:59Speaker 4: Uh?
- 52:59Speaker 1: No, you can, so, I can start at the top,
- 53:01Speaker 1: all right. During a planetary cataclysm now known as the Confluence,
- 53:05Speaker 1: a magical storm swept over the world erratically and fatally,
- 53:09Speaker 1: transforming everything in its path. The storm was triggered when
- 53:13Speaker 1: the imaginary world collided with reality and everything within it
- 53:17Speaker 1: started to flood into the real world. However, certain secluded
- 53:21Speaker 1: human communities managed to survive the apocalypse on the altered
- 53:25Speaker 1: world that emerged from it. Answering a mysterious call, these
- 53:29Speaker 1: people converged on the peninsula that would become known as
- 53:33Speaker 1: Asgartha with the aim of building a new shared civilization together.
- 53:38Speaker 1: It's now been five hundred years after the cataclysm, and
- 53:40Speaker 1: his Humanity has finally decided to venture beyond the frontier
- 53:44Speaker 1: of its new home. To do this, it has launched
- 53:47Speaker 1: the Rediscovery Endeavor, the greatest initiative in its history. Beyond
- 53:51Speaker 1: the boundaries of Asgartha, humanity knows the magical phenomenon known
- 53:55Speaker 1: as the te Mault continues to alter the world. Until now,
- 53:59Speaker 1: these ever changing lands have been too hostile for any
- 54:02Speaker 1: venturing into them. But humanity can now turn to the exalts,
- 54:07Speaker 1: pairs of explorers who could use their powers to survive
- 54:10Speaker 1: in these unstable environments, Exults have learned to master alteration,
- 54:15Speaker 1: the power of bringing their imagination to life with reality.
- 54:19Speaker 1: To do this, they have captured and used Mana, the
- 54:22Speaker 1: same energy that feeds the te mault. Though these teams
- 54:26Speaker 1: of scouts humanity intends to explore the unknown, yet the
- 54:30Speaker 1: exalts mission also has another purpose. They seek the legendary
- 54:34Speaker 1: source of the tea malt in hopes that they can
- 54:36Speaker 1: permanently stabilize chaos in the world alteration. By using mana,
- 54:42Speaker 1: the very energy of the te mault, humanity discovers that
- 54:46Speaker 1: it could materialize its imagination and memories. Although all human
- 54:50Speaker 1: beings are capable of this, certain individual known as alterers,
- 54:55Speaker 1: have made it their specialty. While most while most things
- 54:59Speaker 1: created in this way way ur ephemeral, allocating large amounts
- 55:03Speaker 1: of manner too them can make them more resilient, allowing
- 55:06Speaker 1: them to more strongly anchored, to move, to be more
- 55:10Speaker 1: strongly anchored in reality. There you go, did that? I
- 55:15Speaker 1: think that's the best I've done, an I don't.
- 55:20Speaker 2: That is that is how we have come to the
- 55:24Speaker 2: world that we are now. Idolons and other things will
- 55:30Speaker 2: kind of be described further as we get into more
- 55:34Speaker 2: heroes we've already gone over in n Avenka's backstory. Maybe
- 55:40Speaker 2: we'll see another another hero in the future.
- 55:45Speaker 1: I'm sure we will. I'm sure. And it's time to
- 55:49Speaker 1: move into the Patreon question for the week. This one
- 55:52Speaker 1: coming from draconis. Thank you again to draconis what kind
- 55:56Speaker 1: of new faction would you want to see in the future.
- 56:01Speaker 1: I think I've told mine already. I want to evil
- 56:02Speaker 1: faction yep, dark Depth, Skeleton, phantom zombie evil faction.
- 56:13Speaker 4: That could be cool, for sure.
- 56:15Speaker 3: I would like more of a sci fi personally, that
- 56:18Speaker 3: could be any sci fi really, we get regular people
- 56:23Speaker 3: and aliens, blasters and weapons and stuff that nature spaceships.
- 56:29Speaker 1: Not sure I fits the fits the the.
- 56:33Speaker 3: Theme does at all that already I still think that
- 56:37Speaker 3: you can throw it in there.
- 56:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess Axiom is kind of a little bit of.
- 56:42Speaker 3: That because, uh, the engineering of the rockets.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Yeah, is it Ada that's on a Yeah, Aida is
- 56:51Speaker 2: definitely on some kind of guy thing. And then I
- 56:57Speaker 2: was thinking, not of Aida, of what's the other one's name. Uh,
- 57:05Speaker 2: she's one from Reserve. Uh it's another staple moona card
- 57:12Speaker 2: I forgot in Axiom yeah, whatever in Axiom. But yeah,
- 57:20Speaker 2: there's there's some sci fi elements in Axiom for sure,
- 57:24Speaker 2: some robots, some flying ships that.
- 57:28Speaker 4: Axiom is just so bad right now.
- 57:32Speaker 2: You gotta you gotta be the one to make it good.
- 57:36Speaker 2: But yeah, I I honestly don't know if I want
- 57:40Speaker 2: a new faction. But I do look forward to some
- 57:46Speaker 2: more of the dark elements of the game coming to
- 57:50Speaker 2: the surface, because there are some very dark themes within
- 57:55Speaker 2: the game. We just haven't really dealt with them yet,
- 58:00Speaker 2: and I think we may get a taste of that
- 58:03Speaker 2: next season. My big thing that I want is I
- 58:06Speaker 2: want spiders.
- 58:08Speaker 1: I want spiders in this game.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Technically, the closest is.
- 58:17Speaker 4: Trace traces bugs.
- 58:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:21Speaker 2: Trace has a.
- 58:24Speaker 3: An atomic Yeah, it's like a robot carriage thing.
- 58:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's it's all mechanical. I think it's also
- 58:34Speaker 2: possible we'll see spiders in Uh.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Just kind of surprised. I've never gone looking, but I
- 58:41Speaker 1: assume there was at least one.
- 58:43Speaker 2: Nope, not yet.
- 58:44Speaker 4: You think we'll spiders in the a maze?
- 58:47Speaker 2: I hope so, I hope so.
- 58:50Speaker 4: There would be spiders in a maze.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Yeah. I also know of the possibilities of how Altered
- 58:58Speaker 2: approaches the world, and now you've gotten an introduction in
- 59:02Speaker 2: how things were kind of smashed together. So I'm excited
- 59:07Speaker 2: to see what the new like big name characters are
- 59:12Speaker 2: for the set three. I think Scrooge was probably the
- 59:19Speaker 2: big call out from Set two, so I'm excited to
- 59:23Speaker 2: see what Set three has.
- 59:27Speaker 1: All Right, don't forget Tea Mault Championships April twelfth, Agent,
- 59:33Speaker 1: I'm sorry, April twelve. This is April twenty six stages.
- 59:38Speaker 2: I got you, so, thank you Moult. Yeah, Tumult Championship
- 59:42Speaker 2: at common Ground Games will be on April twelfth. I
- 59:46Speaker 2: think the start time is like two thirty, but it's
- 59:50Speaker 2: on the Altered website. You can go sign up at aegis.
- 59:54Speaker 2: It's April twenty sixth I think they said two Is
- 59:57Speaker 2: that right, Dexter.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Yes, two pm, yep.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: And then I know that Matherel and his store is
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: working on slone.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure he said that he got a date
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: nailed down. Did he not say May eighth?
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: I might have missed it.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: It would probably be in the Houston Jets.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: That sounds right, but I think he said it's not
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: up yet. Three pm start time, Okay, So May tenth.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: Another one in Houston, Texas. Also shout out to our
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: new best friend, Heroes of s Wow Heroes Got ask
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Gartha podcast. If you're not listening to them and you're
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: from Utah or just in general, listen to them. I
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: am originally from Utah, so I love seeing all these
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: stores that are having tumol events in Utah. And we
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: have Game Grade it has a couple or not not
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: game Grade sorry, game Haven in Sandy and Will I
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: think Game Grade in Idaho, Idaho. Trying to see if
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: there was one that has come closer to where we're at.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: There's one in Kansas City, but it's the same day
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: as the Common Ground one. I'm I'm trying to to
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: hit up a couple. I really want one to be
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: in Austin, Texas, but I'm not sure if we'll get one. Yeah,
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: AGAs is on there, Vegas, Egos, aegis all the names.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, So molts are coming up. All of your
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: other online events are going on as usual. To go
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: to Altered Corner dot com. I update the calendar. If
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: there's things missing, just yell at me because I do
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: too much and I might forget.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: That's events, all right, don't forget starting here shortly. This
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: week's a bad week to do it, but because of
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: recording so late in the week. But Patreon episodes will
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: start going up. They're gonna go up probably about a
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: day early, so you can get them early over there,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: and there's no ads, so you can get them ad
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: free over up Oprah on the Patreon and get them early.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: And then if you guys have any ideas for new episodes,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: scream at us. We're always opening new ideas more or
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: less unless it's ortis related that he can kick rocks.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: But oh did I say that wrong? That's how it
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: was on the sheet.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: No, you're gonna pretend like I put that in. Yeah
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: I wrote.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: That, Yeah, definitely, Cole Robbie wrote that not looking we didn't.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: With all that being said, go ahead, Cole. Sorry, didn't
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: mean to cut you out.
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, give us questions love answering questions. If you
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: think there's a topic that we haven't covered well enough,
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: you can submit those on Patreon as well, and then yeah,
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: we'll be looking to put the episodes up early.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: So all right, with that being said, we'll see y'all
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: next week later
