Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: At your early what he Praise party. I am Sherry macke.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's time right now for today's word faith for the
- 0:08Speaker 1: fourth Day. John eleven forty says, Then Jesus said, did
- 0:12Speaker 1: I not tell you that if you believe, you will
- 0:14Speaker 1: see the glory of God? There are moments in life
- 0:19Speaker 1: when it seems as though God is taking too long.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You've prayed, you believe, you stood in faith, Yet instead
- 0:26Speaker 1: of seeing things improve, the situation appears to get worse.
- 0:30Speaker 1: The healing hasn't come, the relationship hasn't been stored, the
- 0:33Speaker 1: doors haven't opened. The answer seems delayed. And Mary and
- 0:38Speaker 1: Martha knew exactly what that felt like. When their brother
- 0:41Speaker 1: Lazarus became serious ill, they went and sent word.
- 0:47Speaker 2: To Jesus immediately.
- 0:48Speaker 1: They believe that if Jesus came, he could heal him.
- 0:52Speaker 1: They had seen his miracles, they knew his power. Yet
- 0:55Speaker 1: surprisingly Jesus didn't rush to Bethany.
- 0:58Speaker 2: He waited.
- 0:59Speaker 1: By the time Jesus arrived, Jesus had been dead for
- 1:02Speaker 1: four days. From Mary and Martha's perspective, it was over.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Their hopes had been shattered, their prayers appeared unanswered. Their
- 1:11Speaker 1: disappointment was overwhelming. Both sisters said essentially the same thing, Lord,
- 1:16Speaker 1: if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
- 1:19Speaker 1: In other words, Jesus, why didn't you come sooner? Perhaps
- 1:23Speaker 1: you've asked a similar question, God, wouldn't Why didn't you
- 1:27Speaker 1: stop this?
- 1:28Speaker 2: God?
- 1:28Speaker 1: Why didn't you answer that prayer? Why didn't you change
- 1:31Speaker 1: this situation or outcome? What Mary and Martha couldn't see
- 1:36Speaker 1: was that Jesus had something greater in mind. They were
- 1:39Speaker 1: asking for a healing, but Jesus was preparing for a resurrection.
- 1:43Speaker 1: They were focus on what God had given them and
- 1:46Speaker 1: what they had lost, while Jesus was preparing to reveal
- 1:50Speaker 1: his glory.
- 1:50Speaker 2: See.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Sometimes God's delays are not his denials. Sometimes what looks
- 1:55Speaker 1: like a setback is actually a setup for something greater.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Than you imagine.
- 2:00Speaker 1: When Jesus stood before lazarus tomb, he reminded Martha, if
- 2:04Speaker 1: you believe me, you will see the glory of God.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Notice the order believe first.
- 2:09Speaker 2: See later.
- 2:10Speaker 1: See that's the essence of faith. Faith trusts God when
- 2:14Speaker 1: there's no evidence. Faith believes when circumstances say otherwise. Faith
- 2:18Speaker 1: holds on when emotions are telling you to give up.
- 2:20Speaker 1: You may be standing in front of a situation today
- 2:23Speaker 1: that feels impossible. Maybe a dream appears dead. Maybe a
- 2:27Speaker 1: relationship seems beyond repair. Maybe a financial challenge, health issue,
- 2:32Speaker 1: or personal struggle has left you discouraged. Don't give up.
- 2:37Speaker 1: God is still working behind the scenes. What feels or
- 2:40Speaker 1: seems final to you is not final to God. What
- 2:44Speaker 1: appears dead may simply be waiting.
- 2:46Speaker 2: For his resurrection power.
- 2:48Speaker 1: The same God who called Lazarus out of the grave
- 2:52Speaker 1: is still calling life into hopeless situations today. He's still healing,
- 2:56Speaker 1: he's still restoring, he's still promoting. He's still delivering and
- 3:00Speaker 1: opening doors. And no person can shut your story.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Isn't over.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Keep believing, keep trusting, keep expecting, because when God shows up,
- 3:08Speaker 1: what looked impossible can suddenly become possible. And when he does,
- 3:12Speaker 1: you'll discover that what felt like a delay was actually
- 3:16Speaker 1: a preparation for his glory to be revealed. Thank you,
- 3:21Speaker 1: Father for always working even when we can't see it.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Thank you for your timing is perfect, and that you
- 3:28Speaker 1: have the final word over every situation in our lives. God,
- 3:31Speaker 1: when we're tempted to become discouraged by delays, help us
- 3:34Speaker 1: to remember that you're preparing something greater than we can imagine.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Strengthen our faith to believe before we see the answer.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Oh God, we trust that you're bringing life where there
- 3:44Speaker 1: seems to be death, hope where there seems to be despair,
- 3:47Speaker 1: and victory where there seems to be defee God, we
- 3:50Speaker 1: believe that you see your glory revealed in.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Our lives in Jesus' name.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Now that your word for today, take it applied to
- 3:57Speaker 1: your everyday life, and you continue to be encouraged and
- 4:00Speaker 1: inspired your Hirlyn Morning Praise Party.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I am Sherry Mackie.
