- 0:00Speaker 1: The Hodaki Big Show.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Thanks to Craveworthy Street Food.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Freshly made with Reburger.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show.
- 0:12Speaker 3: With Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy. Oh, g'day, you
- 0:18Speaker 3: mad bastards. Great to have your company on this glorious
- 0:21Speaker 3: Wednesday afternoon. It is the 9th of September, 2026. And you,
- 0:25Speaker 3: my friends, as always, listening to the big show brought
- 0:28Speaker 3: to you by Reburg Air.
- 0:30Speaker 4: Beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options. Reburg Air are redefining
- 0:34Speaker 4: the norm.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Scrumptiously. Mogi, you stud, you Greek god, you stallion. How's life?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Going pretty grousey, you mad dog, you sick son of
- 0:44Speaker 1: a bee, you weirdo. Another beautiful day here in the
- 0:48Speaker 1: city of Sales House. Look, dare I say it, spring
- 0:50Speaker 1: has sprung. I think so, man.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I think so.
- 0:53Speaker 1: There's never going to be another cold day as long
- 0:54Speaker 1: as I live. That's how it feels at the moment.
- 0:56Speaker 3: The flowers are blooming. The birds are tweeting. Spring is here.
- 1:00Speaker 1: I went for a walk today. I had a meeting.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I've just started walking everywhere. I've decided that's what I'm
- 1:05Speaker 1: going to do. And it was a half an hour walk.
- 1:08Speaker 1: And I got about 10 minutes into it and I thought,
- 1:10Speaker 1: this is too hot. I'm too hot. So I took
- 1:13Speaker 1: my shoes off and my socks off and I was
- 1:15Speaker 1: walking bare feet. And then I ran into Paddy Gower.
- 1:18Speaker 1: He's like, what are you doing? I said, nothing. He said,
- 1:22Speaker 1: why are you carrying your shoes?
- 1:24Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:25Speaker 1: So anyway, I'm going to be on his new show,
- 1:28Speaker 1: Mogi's Got Issues, with Paddy Gower.
- 1:30Speaker 3: It's going to.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Be good about how I'm walking around like a homeless person.
- 1:32Speaker 1: So that was a fun day for me, Keezy. How
- 1:34Speaker 1: are you going, brother? Good.
- 1:35Speaker 4: You're going pretty grouse, guys. Pretty stoked to be here.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Lovely day, isn't it?
- 1:39Speaker 3: Isn't it? It's unbelievable.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I feel like spring has sprung.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like it has too.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Quick question about you walking everywhere. What happened to Pushbike Mogi? Well,
- 1:47Speaker 1: Pushbike Mogi only pushbikes when he's a little bit short
- 1:50Speaker 1: on time. If I've got a little bit of time
- 1:52Speaker 1: up my sleeve, I'm Beat the Feet Mogi. Beat the Feet. Mogie, yeah, okay, cool.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Jase, how are you going, man? You're looking good, brother. Yeah, yeah, good,
- 2:01Speaker 3: thank you. I can't complain. I don't know, I was
- 2:03Speaker 3: just walking through the CBD today and I was going, jeez,
- 2:06Speaker 3: what a glorious day. It feels like spring.
- 2:09Speaker 1: What? Do you think it's sprung?
- 2:11Speaker 3: I think so.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You're off your head.
- 2:16Speaker 3: What's happening on The Big Show with Old Mogie?
- 2:19Speaker 1: Absolute treat today, fellas. We're going to have Jackie Van
- 2:21Speaker 1: Beek and Johnny Brough in studio for a yarn about
- 2:25Speaker 1: their new film, Mum, I'm Alien Pregnant. Very, very funny movie.
- 2:29Speaker 1: That'll be later on. Also, would you rather another opportunity
- 2:32Speaker 1: to get yourself into the drawer for Waz or Cars?
- 2:35Speaker 1: Listen out for the cue to call. That's going to
- 2:36Speaker 1: be a bloody ripper. Jase. Yeah, man. You've got a
- 2:38Speaker 1: huge holiday of a lifetime coming up.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I do.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You're going to Australia.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Oh, wow. Yeah, you guys simply must one day. Again.
- 2:48Speaker 1: We're going to get into that next, but also, Keezy,
- 2:51Speaker 1: we've got another cue to call to listen out for,
- 2:53Speaker 1: and this one is a monster of a bastard.
- 2:56Speaker 4: That's right, fellas. Of course, this weekend is a huge
- 2:58Speaker 4: one at Mount Smart Stadium. The Warriors are taking on
- 3:01Speaker 4: the Dolphins. It's a home final. It's completely sold out. However,
- 3:05Speaker 4: if you're listening to the show and you hear this.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Let's hear it.
- 3:15Speaker 4: If you hear that, call us on 0800 HODAKI and
- 3:18Speaker 4: the first person through will get a double pass to
- 3:21Speaker 4: the sold-out WARS home final.
- 3:23Speaker 3: How good, man.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Oh, this is a jam.
- 3:25Speaker 3: You like this one, don't you, James? I do. The
- 3:27Speaker 3: temper trap. Let's do it.
- 3:29Speaker 2: The HODAKI Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio HODAKI.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Yes, indeed. Bush there on the Radio HODAKI Big Show
- 3:36Speaker 3: this Wednesday afternoon. The time is 14 minutes past 4 o'clock. And, fellas,
- 3:41Speaker 3: exciting news. I'm going on holiday very soon in a
- 3:45Speaker 3: couple of weeks. And I must say that I've been
- 3:48Speaker 3: inspired by you fellas and all your massive overseas travels. And,
- 3:53Speaker 3: you know, I've always felt like a bit of a
- 3:55Speaker 3: deer brain, you know, the fact that I've never really
- 3:57Speaker 3: left New Zealand. Yes. The Nest, if you will. And
- 4:02Speaker 3: I see you, Backbones, and you've been to Europe. You've
- 4:05Speaker 3: been all over the shop.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Europe's more than one country, Jess.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Apparently so.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I went to Fiji last year.
- 4:11Speaker 3: You were joking.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah, 100%.
- 4:13Speaker 4: I was in Brizzy earlier this year.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 4:16Speaker 4: I've got a Japan trip coming up. So you're all right.
- 4:19Speaker 4: And I'm excited to see you getting out and about, man.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Well, you know, I said to my wife, you know what, darling?
- 4:23Speaker 3: Let's bite the bullet. Let's go a bit crazy and
- 4:25Speaker 3: go overseas.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Where are you going?
- 4:27Speaker 3: Aussie. Oh, nice.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a good start.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you.
- 4:31Speaker 1: West Coast or, you know, the more accessible and sort
- 4:34Speaker 1: of commonly treaded path of the East Coast?
- 4:38Speaker 3: East.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Yeah, good on you, man.
- 4:39Speaker 3: But here's the exciting news, right? So I've got family
- 4:42Speaker 3: in Sydney, but all my daughters live in Melbourne. So
- 4:45Speaker 3: we're going to go and visit my family in Sydney initially.
- 4:48Speaker 3: And I said to my wife, check this out. How
- 4:51Speaker 3: about rather than fly from Sydney to Melbourne to see
- 4:55Speaker 3: the girls, we do a roadie.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Oh.
- 4:58Speaker 3: So we drive from Sydney to Melbourne and we said
- 5:02Speaker 3: to the girls, why don't we meet up somewhere along
- 5:04Speaker 3: the way, somewhere coastal, somewhere pretty, you know, that serves oysters,
- 5:09Speaker 3: have a bit of family time.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 5:11Speaker 3: The only issue that I have is that I don't
- 5:13Speaker 3: know that area, so I don't know where all the
- 5:15Speaker 3: good spots are to sort of, hang out or, you know,
- 5:18Speaker 3: for a night or two because we'll be on the road.
- 5:21Speaker 3: It's going to be madness for like six days.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Six days. A lot of time to play with, yes.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I lived over there for four years, Jase.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:29Speaker 1: There's some bloody great spots that you can strop in.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Australia's got so much to offer.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I've heard that, man.
- 5:34Speaker 1: And also, are you getting a rental car? Yes. Or
- 5:37Speaker 1: are you going to get a motorbike?
- 5:38Speaker 3: Oh, we did think about the motorbike with the sidecar,
- 5:42Speaker 3: but my daughter's with us as well. Yeah, go rental car. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:45Speaker 3: so we're going rental.
- 5:46Speaker 4: What that does, whether it's the rental car or the
- 5:48Speaker 4: motorbike or the sidecar, it opens up a lot of
- 5:50Speaker 4: places off the beaten path.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Yeah. So true. Now you're talking.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Yes. Byron Bay is bloody beautiful.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I've heard that. Can we just write that down? Yeah,
- 6:00Speaker 3: write that down. Byron Bay. Yeah.
- 6:03Speaker 1: That's about, I think, four or five hours north of
- 6:05Speaker 1: Sydney there.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Okay, so yeah. Yeah, that's a great place to start.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I've heard it's very pretty.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:12Speaker 1: It really is.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Yes.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Do you like surfing? Because you've been a big surfer,
- 6:18Speaker 1: I know, big wave surfer.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Yeah, totally, man. I love my curls.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Oh, you used to curl one out, didn't you?
- 6:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I did, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm never happier
- 6:26Speaker 3: than when I'm in a swell.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Then there's Adelaide. Stop in at Adelaide.
- 6:32Speaker 4: The Brasser Valley near Adelaide is very nice.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Very nice.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Adelaide. Yeah, nice.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Do you like sort of nature and seeing, you know,
- 6:40Speaker 4: like Mother Nature at her most pure?
- 6:44Speaker 3: Like your koalas, your lorikeets, your kangaroos. Yeah, sure, certainly.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Well, if you want to see that, Alice Springs.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Alice Springs. This is great stuff.
- 6:53Speaker 1: You know, one of the things, and they call this
- 6:55Speaker 1: the eighth wonder of the world, Jizz. And you simply
- 6:59Speaker 1: must go. If you're going there for that amount of.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Time, Uluru.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Uluru. Uluru.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I've heard about Uluru.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Uluru, it's massive. It'll blow your mind. It used to
- 7:06Speaker 1: be called Ears Rock.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Okay.
- 7:08Speaker 1: But now it's Uluru.
- 7:09Speaker 4: I think it was called Uluru first, wasn't it?
- 7:11Speaker 5: No, no.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 7:12Speaker 3: I could climb Ears Rock and take some selfies.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, they love it when you do that.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Yeah, do they? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, do they? Okay.
- 7:18Speaker 3: It's on my bucket list too.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Actually, another place, have you heard of Movie World?
- 7:22Speaker 1: Movie World.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Movie World.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Honestly, you guys will love it.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Because you like movies, eh? Samsung TV and all that.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, kind of.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Well, look. What about Wet n' Wild?
- 7:34Speaker 3: Now you're talking.
- 7:35Speaker 1: They've got a chain of those over there.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Yeah, Wet n' Wild? Yeah. Okay, so Byron Bay, Adelaide,
- 7:40Speaker 3: Alice Springs, and Wet n' Wild.
- 7:44Speaker 1: And Movie World. Oh, and Movie World.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And Uluru. Yeah, Uluru.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 4: And if anyone else has got any good suggestions, by
- 7:52Speaker 4: the way, 3483, let us know because Jason's got six
- 7:54Speaker 4: whole days.
- 7:55Speaker 1: That's ages.
- 7:56Speaker 3: I'd love to hear from you on 3483. In the meantime,
- 7:59Speaker 3: here's Alice in Chains. Doosh, doosh.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Doosh, doosh.
- 8:04Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 8:07Speaker 2: in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Kings of Leon there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show
- 8:13Speaker 3: this Wednesday afternoon. The time is 4.26 and Hoiti J
- 8:17Speaker 3: is on holiday very shortly and he's doing a roadie
- 8:21Speaker 3: from Sydney to Melbourne. And I've been asking for suggestions
- 8:24Speaker 3: from the audience, you fellas having been experienced travellers yourselves.
- 8:29Speaker 3: You've recommended Byron's Bay. Adelaide.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Byron Bay.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Byron Bay. Yeah. Adelaide. Alice Springs. What was the wet one?
- 8:40Speaker 3: Wet and Wild. Wet and Wild. Yeah.
- 8:42Speaker 1: And Movie World as well. And Uluru.
- 8:45Speaker 5: Uluru.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Because you've got six days. You can easily tackle most
- 8:47Speaker 4: of that in like three.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay, good.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Another place that a lot of people from Aussie go
- 8:52Speaker 4: on holiday is Bali.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Oh, they love it.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Have you heard of Bali?
- 8:55Speaker 3: I have, actually, yeah. It's great.
- 8:57Speaker 4: It's essentially Australia.
- 8:58Speaker 3: That's like a sort of party town, though, isn't it?
- 9:00Speaker 4: Yeah, no, there's chill parts of it, yoga and that.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Unofficial capital of Australia.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a Bali.
- 9:07Speaker 1: You can go to the actual capital, Darwin.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Darwin?
- 9:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Why not? Well, that would be quite nice, go to
- 9:13Speaker 3: the capital. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, cool.
- 9:17Speaker 1: It's a Bali. There's a text that's come through here
- 9:20Speaker 1: on 3483 recommending Nimbin.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Nimbin. Nimbin.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Now, Nimbin, you drive down the street and people just
- 9:29Speaker 1: knock on your window and off you get the weed. Oh, really?
- 9:33Speaker 1: The devil's weed. Wow.
- 9:35Speaker 3: The devil's lettuce.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Also, they give you the old mushrooms there, the old mushies.
- 9:40Speaker 3: What, for a stir fry or something like that?
- 9:42Speaker 1: Yeah, like that. Stir fry's your brain. Or beef wellington.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Whatever you're into there. Rottnest Island.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Oh, nice. Rottnest.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Is that how it's called? Is that what it's called? Yeah,
- 9:52Speaker 1: Rottnest Island, yeah. It's where they've got the quokkas.
- 9:54Speaker 3: The quokkas.
- 9:54Speaker 1: They're the little beavery-looking things.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 9:57Speaker 1: And people get selfies with them. Yeah, because they look
- 9:59Speaker 1: like they're smiling.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Right, okay.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:02Speaker 4: And the text here says Jase could probably saddle one
- 10:05Speaker 4: up and take it for a spin around the island.
- 10:06Speaker 1: He could. Yeah, good.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Because they'd be pretty cute. Where would I find some platypus?
- 10:14Speaker 1: That's not. Do you mean multiple? Jase?
- 10:19Speaker 3: No, just a platypus.
- 10:21Speaker 1: You've always wanted to see a platypus. Yes.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Don't they have them in Australia?
- 10:26Speaker 1: Yeah, they're Australian. They are indigenous.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Okay. Yeah. The platypus.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Great tip here from Kurt. Go to Great Barrier Reef.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Oh, I've heard that. Yeah, it's really good.
- 10:36Speaker 1: That's on the way to Melbourne, apparently, which is cool.
- 10:39Speaker 3: So I'd have to pack my sort of aqua gear.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Oh, they'll have your aqua gear. They'll have aqua gear there, man,
- 10:44Speaker 4: so you should be sweet.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Oh, you reckon I could hire it?
- 10:46Speaker 1: Yeah, 100%.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I just don't know that they'd have my size, Keezy.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I guess the bigger problem for you, though, outside of
- 10:51Speaker 1: the size, is that you can't swim.
- 10:53Speaker 3: There is that. But you're attached to a rope and
- 10:56Speaker 3: they just pull you down, don't they?
- 10:57Speaker 1: Well, they actually attach you to some of the sea life,
- 11:00Speaker 1: so dolphin, shark, you name it.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Oh, that'd be special.
- 11:03Speaker 4: It would be, but you get to choose what thing
- 11:05Speaker 4: you're attached to.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Right, okay. I'd probably go dolphin or a platypus.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I recommend the boat. Oh, the boat, okay.
- 11:13Speaker 4: So do you think platypus swim in the sea?
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yeah, they do, don't they? They can. Right.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. They're usually in the river, though, you find
- 11:21Speaker 1: a platypus there. They sort of hang out with your crocodiles,
- 11:25Speaker 1: et cetera, et cetera. Have you ever ridden a crocodile?
- 11:28Speaker 3: Never have.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Look, Jase, the good news is these are all things
- 11:32Speaker 4: that you can do whilst you're on your six-day holiday.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Are you into shopping?
- 11:36Speaker 3: Love it.
- 11:37Speaker 1: They have really good malls over there.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Oh, they do?
- 11:39Speaker 1: Oh, yes. You go to the mall.
- 11:40Speaker 3: They have like Woolworths and stuff?
- 11:42Speaker 1: Do they?
- 11:43Speaker 3: They do. Oh, okay.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yes.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I'll tell you what I really want to get into,
- 11:47Speaker 3: and I hope I'll see a lot of, bin chickens.
- 11:50Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 11:53Speaker 2: in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. One simple question.
- 11:58Speaker 2: One weekend of a lifetime. Would you rather.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Yes, indeed. Waz or cars, that is the question. You decide,
- 12:06Speaker 3: New Zealand.
- 12:07Speaker 4: It'll be interesting to see what happens, fellas. If, heaven forbid,
- 12:11Speaker 4: and I'm going to the game, I don't want this
- 12:12Speaker 4: to happen, but if the Waz were to lose this weekend,
- 12:16Speaker 4: whether the sort of ratio of people choosing Bathurst over
- 12:19Speaker 4: the finals would start to tilt just a little bit.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Yeah, probably. Yeah, just because people start to get a
- 12:24Speaker 1: bit nervous.
- 12:25Speaker 3: I'm really excited about the game on safety.
- 12:28Speaker 1: So am I.
- 12:29Speaker 3: It's going to be doozy, I reckon.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I think we're either going to smash them. I think
- 12:34Speaker 1: we're probably going to smash them or lose.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Smash them or lose.
- 12:37Speaker 1: That's my vibe. Or it's going to be a close one.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Yeah, nice.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Or a draw.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Or a draw. Yeah, very close.
- 12:43Speaker 4: Don't forget.
- 12:44Speaker 1: We've got a golden point. Yeah. Imagine that. That would
- 12:47Speaker 1: be a ripper.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Have you heard about golden point, Jase?
- 12:50Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Good stuff. Should we go to the lines?
- 12:53Speaker 3: Love a bit of golden point.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yeah, man.
- 12:55Speaker 3: G'day, Stephanie. How's life?
- 12:57Speaker 5: Hey, it's good. Thank you.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Good on you, mate. Have you had a good day, Stephanie?
- 13:02Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, nothing too taxing.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that's nice. And what do you do for
- 13:05Speaker 3: a crust?
- 13:06Speaker 5: So I work in new vehicle car sales.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that's good. Would you regard yourself, Stephanie, as
- 13:14Speaker 1: a mad bastard?
- 13:16Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely. Yeah, I thought so.
- 13:18Speaker 1: It's good best to be honest.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Up front so we know what we're dealing with, Stephanie.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Am I right in saying, Stephanie, that you went online
- 13:26Speaker 4: and joined the great New Zealanders club at hodaki.co.nz?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Is that right? I did.
- 13:29Speaker 4: I did. So Stephanie got a heads up as to
- 13:31Speaker 4: when the cuticle was going to play today.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Oh, what a backbite.
- 13:34Speaker 3: What a massive backbite. Inside info.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Boom. There's going to be another one playing at some
- 13:39Speaker 4: point on the show later if you want to get.
- 13:40Speaker 1: A head start on that one.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Head to hodaki.co.nz, join the Great New Zealanders Club like
- 13:44Speaker 4: Stephanie asked. But what are you choosing, Grand Final or Bathurst?
- 13:48Speaker 5: Okay, so I would absolutely choose the Grand Final. However,
- 13:54Speaker 5: we're already locked and loaded and going.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Oh! That's bad right shit. I'll see you there, Stephanie.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Yeah, awesome. We'll make that a date.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do that.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Let's do that.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Ah, bloody good. So you're choosing Bathurst? Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Why not?
- 14:08Speaker 5: So I'd be a good wife, and I might even
- 14:10Speaker 5: just send hubby and the lad over instead. So, you know.
- 14:13Speaker 3: That's the one. What a massive name, Stephanie.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Wait, so, sorry, Stephanie's going to catch up with Mogi
- 14:18Speaker 4: for a day. Yes. Grand final and send the husband.
- 14:21Speaker 3: And the lad. I see. I see. Oh, yeah.
- 14:25Speaker 1: You hold the line, Stephanie. Pugs will sort you out,
- 14:27Speaker 1: all right?
- 14:28Speaker 3: Okay, thanks. Thanks, mate. G'day, Andy, you mad bastard. How's life?
- 14:33Speaker 5: Good, you mad bastard.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff, mate. Tell me, Andy, what do you
- 14:38Speaker 3: do for a crust?
- 14:40Speaker 5: I work in the supply chain. Oh, yeah.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. The old supply chain. What does that mean?
- 14:45Speaker 4: Whereabouts specifically, Andy? Whereabouts in the chain?
- 14:48Speaker 5: Yeah, so I'm in Auckland doing a lot of the
- 14:50Speaker 5: purchasing for pharmaceutical products. Oh, yeah.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yeah, nice, nice, nice. Good stuff.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Good on you, Andy.
- 14:57Speaker 4: And are you thinking Bathurst or are you thinking the
- 14:59Speaker 4: grand final?
- 15:00Speaker 5: Oh, motorsports. There's got to be a weekend of cars
- 15:03Speaker 5: at Bathurst.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Yeah, good on you, man. Sounds good, mate. Good on you.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Tell me, Andy, who would you take with you?
- 15:09Speaker 5: My drinking buddy, Willie.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Oh, Willie's a sick son of a bitch.
- 15:14Speaker 1: He's a shocking bastard.
- 15:15Speaker 4: All right, Andy, well, you and Willie, you're both in
- 15:18Speaker 4: the draw.
- 15:18Speaker 1: All right? Good luck.
- 15:19Speaker 5: Fantastic.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Rock on. Rock on, mate.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I wonder if Willie can get us any syringes, Jase.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Or Andy. I was thinking about Willie there. I'm always
- 15:30Speaker 1: thinking about Willie there. Classic mogey. Hey, another chance to
- 15:36Speaker 1: win later on in the show. Keep an ear out.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Get ready to call 0800 HODAKI.
- 15:41Speaker 3: In the meantime, here's Arctic Monkeys.
- 15:44Speaker 2: The HODAKI Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio HODAKI.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Led Zeppelin there on the HODAKI Big Show this Wednesday afternoon.
- 15:52Speaker 3: The time is 4.50. Let's talk TV. What's on the
- 15:57Speaker 3: telly with Mike Minogue.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Yeah!
- 16:03Speaker 3: That's right.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Last night, fellas, I didn't watch any TV at all.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I went to a play.
- 16:09Speaker 3: How very cultured of you, Mogi.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Do you know where it was, man?
- 16:13Speaker 3: The basement?
- 16:13Speaker 1: The theatre. Oh, right. The basement theatre.
- 16:17Speaker 3: Theatre.
- 16:19Speaker 1: But you're going to it tonight, Joe, so I can't
- 16:20Speaker 1: review it.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Yes.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Okay?
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'll have to wait.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Fellas, I just carried on with the show. I think
- 16:27Speaker 3: I've talked about it already. The Tudors.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I've never heard of it.
- 16:31Speaker 3: King Henry VIII engages in a dispute with the Roman
- 16:35Speaker 3: Catholic Church to get his first marriage annulled. Later, he
- 16:39Speaker 3: goes on to marry six times and lays the foundation
- 16:43Speaker 3: for the Church of England.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Is that with the guy with the eyes here, Jonathan Rees,
- 16:48Speaker 1: something or other?
- 16:48Speaker 3: Myers.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Myers, yeah.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Yes, it is. Good-looking fella. Natalie Dormer?
- 16:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Famous, of course, for Game of Thrones.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Game of Thrones, yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 3: And she plays Anne Boleyn.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Is Anne Boleyn the first wife or the one he
- 17:00Speaker 1: falls in love with? Are you saying Anne Boleyn?
- 17:04Speaker 3: Anne Boleyn. Oh, Anne Boleyn. Yeah, yeah. And the thing
- 17:08Speaker 3: is with her is he falls in love with her.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Or should I say, in lust.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 3: And she's like, no siree, Bob. Not until you marry me,
- 17:19Speaker 3: there shall be no relations of that kind.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 17:22Speaker 4: But his bed's annulling, right, essentially.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yes, but his first wife is like, no, I'm not
- 17:27Speaker 3: having that. No, no. You can't divorce me and it's
- 17:29Speaker 3: against God. And the Pope says, that's right, it's against God.
- 17:33Speaker 3: And he's going, what? I'm the king, damn it.
- 17:36Speaker 1: It's a good trick though, isn't it? Because what I
- 17:38Speaker 1: always do when my wife won't let me have an
- 17:40Speaker 1: affair and the Pope won't let me have an affair
- 17:44Speaker 1: is I invent a new church so that I can
- 17:47Speaker 1: have as many affairs as I want. That's actually a
- 17:49Speaker 1: good strategy. It's a good trick.
- 17:50Speaker 3: The Church of Mogi.
- 17:54Speaker 1: It's good, though.
- 17:54Speaker 3: It's good. I like a period drama. It's pretty well acted. Yeah.
- 17:58Speaker 3: I'll give it a solid 3.3 out of 5, Buzzy.
- 18:01Speaker 1: What's it called? The Tudors.
- 18:02Speaker 3: The Tudors.
- 18:03Speaker 1: And that's on?
- 18:04Speaker 3: Netflix.
- 18:05Speaker 4: Last night, fellas, I watched the show finale of Australian rom-com...
- 18:11Speaker 4: Colin from Accounts. Four seasons, or is it three seasons?
- 18:14Speaker 4: Can't remember there. It's on TVNZ +. Really, really good show.
- 18:17Speaker 1: A lot of laughs.
- 18:18Speaker 4: A lot of heart.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Did very well over in the UK.
- 18:21Speaker 4: They've won, I think, a few BAFTAs and things like that.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Nice.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Really interesting seeing the likes of these Aussie actors and
- 18:27Speaker 4: writers who I really like. rubbing shoulders with huge-name UK
- 18:31Speaker 4: comedians who I also like.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Very interesting. Final show was All G.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Okay, it was a massive disappointment, obviously.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Well, no, I feel like the show was almost set
- 18:41Speaker 4: up so it could keep going, but they were like,
- 18:43Speaker 4: you know what, stuff it, we're done. And so it
- 18:45Speaker 4: does finish, and they wrapped up everyone, and they tried
- 18:48Speaker 4: to bring all the characters from throughout the seasons back,
- 18:50Speaker 4: but I couldn't remember a lot of them.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Right, okay.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Who's that guy? Okay. So it was fine. It wasn't
- 18:55Speaker 1: as good.
- 18:56Speaker 4: For example, the night before last, I watched the season
- 18:58Speaker 4: finale of season one of Outrageous Fortune, and that wrapped
- 19:01Speaker 4: things up really, really nicely.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Whereas this one was fine. They've fallen into the Seinfeld trap,
- 19:06Speaker 1: which they did at the end of that. They were
- 19:10Speaker 1: being tried for a crime in a small town. They
- 19:12Speaker 1: brought back all of the characters as character witnesses.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 1: And instead of just focusing on the core cast, they
- 19:17Speaker 1: sort of made it a trip down memory lane and
- 19:20Speaker 1: no one cared.
- 19:20Speaker 4: But it wasn't as on the nose as that.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 1: They were weaved in. Yeah, it was fine.
- 19:26Speaker 4: My wife and I were both like, oh, it was
- 19:27Speaker 4: probably one of the weaker episodes.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Oh, sure. But all the other episodes are great.
- 19:30Speaker 4: I still highly recommend it.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Can you give us a ranking on the series as
- 19:36Speaker 1: a whole, Keezy?
- 19:37Speaker 4: The series as a whole, out of the five buzzies,
- 19:39Speaker 4: I would give the series as a whole four buzzies
- 19:41Speaker 4: out of five.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Great.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Because it's Aussie comedy. I have a soft spot for
- 19:45Speaker 4: them in New Zealand. And it exceeded my expectations.
- 19:48Speaker 1: There you go.
- 19:48Speaker 4: TVNZ Plus, Colin from Accounts.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Get it in you.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Here's the Black Keys.
- 19:54Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 19:58Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah, welcome back, you massive bag bones. Hope you're getting
- 20:03Speaker 3: through your hump day OK. You're listening to The Big Show,
- 20:06Speaker 3: by the way, brought to you by Reburg Air.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Craveworthy street food freshly made with Reburg Air.
- 20:12Speaker 3: I can't believe it.
- 20:14Speaker 1: It's street food, but.
- 20:16Speaker 3: It's so unbelievably crave-worthy.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Yes, and they have beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options. Yum.
- 20:27Speaker 5: Yum.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Sure is. In all seriousness, if you've never tried Ree Burger,
- 20:32Speaker 3: give it a nudge. It's bloody top quality.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Certainly is, Jase. 40 stores nationwide now.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yeah, man.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Well, there's a reason for that, Keezy, because people love it.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Because they love it.
- 20:41Speaker 3: They love it.
- 20:42Speaker 1: And also because of the big show, obviously. Yeah, well.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I think that's really the driver in it. Do we
- 20:46Speaker 1: have a percentage of the company? Do we own, we
- 20:48Speaker 1: must own half of it or something? Or at least
- 20:50Speaker 1: one store. Half of one store?
- 20:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Thank you. What about one store each? What about, why
- 20:55Speaker 1: don't we have a store each in our houses? That
- 20:58Speaker 1: would rule. Just for us.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I did actually look into buying a re-burger.
- 21:01Speaker 1: You did.
- 21:02Speaker 3: You did.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Just what, the burger or the whole joint?
- 21:05Speaker 3: Just a burger. No, a joint.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Are you going to buy a joint? I'm keen, man.
- 21:13Speaker 1: I think that's illegal. 100%. Oh, I mean, yeah, don't
- 21:16Speaker 1: do that.
- 21:16Speaker 3: A little bit outside my range, even with my dog
- 21:18Speaker 3: squad money.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Buying a re-burger or a joint?
- 21:21Speaker 4: Why don't you instead buy a joint and an actual
- 21:23Speaker 4: re-burger burger?
- 21:25Speaker 3: Yes.
- 21:25Speaker 1: And that'll be a great night. Not bad. Not bad
- 21:29Speaker 1: at all. It's actually illegal that I was joking, mate.
- 21:31Speaker 1: You can't agree to that stuff on the radio.
- 21:33Speaker 3: You'd get in trouble, man.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Sorry, man. You're fired. So you're fired, yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 21:38Speaker 1: No, you're just fired.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Here's Velvet Revolver.
- 21:41Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 21:45Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Yes, indeed. Radiohead there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show
- 21:51Speaker 3: this Wednesday afternoon. The time is exactly 15 minutes past five.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Fellas, I've got a bit of a conundrum, and I
- 21:59Speaker 1: was wondering if you could help me out.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Sure.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Just listen to this, Keezy. See what you think, man. Okay. Okay,
- 22:04Speaker 1: you too, Jase.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Do you want me to play the conundrum music?
- 22:07Speaker 1: If you've got some. Makes you feel better about your conundrums.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I've got a mate and he and I have long
- 22:18Speaker 1: enjoyed watching the Warriors together.
- 22:20Speaker 3: It's very bonding, isn't it?
- 22:22Speaker 1: It is very bonding.
- 22:24Speaker 4: It's super bonding.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Everybody knows that the right way to say it is
- 22:28Speaker 1: that it's bonding.
- 22:29Speaker 3: When you were around at my joint the other day,
- 22:31Speaker 3: how bonding was that with all three of us backbones
- 22:34Speaker 3: watching it together?
- 22:35Speaker 1: It's one of the most bonding things ever. So over
- 22:39Speaker 1: 20 years I've been watching games with this backbone. We
- 22:42Speaker 1: F and Jeff at the screen together. We go out
- 22:43Speaker 1: to games together, all sorts of carry-ons. This weekend I'm
- 22:47Speaker 1: trying to book a, well, I have booked a table
- 22:48Speaker 1: at a bar, and I've said, you know, what time
- 22:51Speaker 1: should we get there? I've sent out the group chat.
- 22:52Speaker 1: He's one of them. What time should we get there? Also,
- 22:55Speaker 1: if you want to bring anybody else, let me know.
- 22:57Speaker 1: I'll need to adjust the booking, et cetera, et cetera.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Everyone's really excited, obviously. It's a final game for the Waz.
- 23:05Speaker 1: This is why we do it, Gizzy, isn't it? All
- 23:08Speaker 1: these years of supporters say that we get to the finals,
- 23:10Speaker 1: you get to enjoy it. Totally, man. This mate of mine,
- 23:13Speaker 1: let's call him John. John? Only because that's his name. Yeah, okay.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Let's call him that. Let's show him a little bit
- 23:19Speaker 1: of respect, all right? Okay. Because that's his name. John
- 23:23Speaker 1: messaged back and said, don't know if I'm going to
- 23:25Speaker 1: be able to make it. I've got a gig I've
- 23:28Speaker 1: got to go to. Oh, what? So he's saying that
- 23:31Speaker 1: he's not going to come. He said, I might be
- 23:32Speaker 1: able to watch 20 minutes of it, and then I've
- 23:34Speaker 1: got to go to this gig. What a conundrum.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Who's the person that's coming?
- 23:39Speaker 1: It's the Australian musician Chet Faker. Chet Faker.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 23:43Speaker 1: He's fine. Yeah, sweet.
- 23:44Speaker 3: I get it.
- 23:45Speaker 1: That's a disgrace. So I'm just wondering if I should
- 23:53Speaker 1: dump him.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Yes.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Thank you. Well, I mean, it's tricky, right?
- 23:57Speaker 4: Because he's obviously a big Chet Faker fan.
- 24:00Speaker 1: First I've heard, man. I tell you what, I know
- 24:02Speaker 1: he's a big Waz fan because for 20 years we've
- 24:04Speaker 1: been watching the game.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Together.
- 24:05Speaker 1: For 20 years we've been effing and jeffing at the screen.
- 24:08Speaker 1: For 20 years we've been riding the wave of support
- 24:10Speaker 1: for the Waz that has gone here and there. And finally,
- 24:13Speaker 1: it hasn't been an uninterrupted downward trajectory. It's actually heading
- 24:16Speaker 1: up in the right direction. To a possible premiership, Keezy.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:20Speaker 1: And in all of those times that I've been with him,
- 24:22Speaker 1: watching the game, cheering, effing and jeffing, not once has
- 24:25Speaker 1: he ever mentioned the words Chet Faker.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Not once.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Can I put it in context? I've known Keezy five
- 24:33Speaker 3: odd years, right?
- 24:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:36Speaker 3: We've watched a bit of Waz together.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Oh, you love it.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Have we?
- 24:39Speaker 1: Once.
- 24:40Speaker 3: And when I heard he was going to the game,
- 24:42Speaker 3: I moved heaven and earth to make sure that I've
- 24:44Speaker 3: got the seat next to him.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:46Speaker 3: You know what I mean? And we've only known each
- 24:47Speaker 3: other five years. You're talking 20 at a bar, Mogi.
- 24:52Speaker 3: I paid triple so I could sit next to Keezy
- 24:57Speaker 3: and his lovely wife.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Actually, do you want to tell your mate there's a
- 25:01Speaker 4: couple of tickets going to that game, Mogi? Maybe that'll
- 25:03Speaker 4: change his mind. This is Chet Faker now, Jase.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Is it? Nah, it's looking back.
- 25:11Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 25:14Speaker 2: in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. One simple question.
- 25:19Speaker 2: One weekend of a lifetime.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Would you rather?
- 25:24Speaker 3: I've just realised something, fellas. Just as a bit of
- 25:28Speaker 3: a sideline here before we get into this because it's huge.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Pugs gives me a certain look sometimes and I've been
- 25:35Speaker 3: looking at it going, Who does that remind me of?
- 25:39Speaker 3: And it reminds me of the look my youngest daughter
- 25:43Speaker 3: gives me when she thinks I'm being an idiot.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 25:46Speaker 3: It's the same look.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Pity, sort of like a loathing mix with a pity.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Yes, disdainful. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I tell you what's
- 25:55Speaker 3: not disdainful, Waz versus Kaz.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Are you talking about the NRL grand final or Bathurst?
- 26:01Speaker 1: Your choice. both provided by boyschip.co.nz.
- 26:04Speaker 4: All you have to do is call 0800 HODUCKY, get
- 26:07Speaker 4: yourself in the draw.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Shall we go to the Lions, fellas?
- 26:09Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do it. G'day, Steve, you mad bastard. How's life?
- 26:13Speaker 6: Yeah, it's awesome. It's awesome. How about yourself?
- 26:15Speaker 1: It is, isn't it?
- 26:16Speaker 3: It is awesome, man, it is.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:17Speaker 3: What do you do for a crust, Steve?
- 26:20Speaker 6: I work maintenance in a paper mill.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Oh, yeah? Backbone. Backbone, mate. Is that a.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Dangerous job, Steve?
- 26:28Speaker 6: I guess it can be. You know, you do your
- 26:30Speaker 6: best to keep all your... fingers on the end of
- 26:33Speaker 6: your hands, but some people don't make it.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I could see you losing a limb pretty quickly, Keezy,
- 26:39Speaker 3: in that job. Because you get all woozy and you
- 26:42Speaker 3: don't concentrate. Do I?
- 26:43Speaker 1: What, when I'm in a paper mill?
- 26:45Speaker 3: Yeah, totally.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah, true, that's true.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Hey, Steve, are you thinking Bathurst or Grand Final, man?
- 26:51Speaker 6: Oh, definitely be Cars, be the Bathurst.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Oh, okay. And who would you take with you, Steve?
- 26:56Speaker 6: I might take my partner if she behaves herself enough.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that's a way. You tell her, man.
- 27:02Speaker 1: You're in the draw, Steve.
- 27:04Speaker 3: All right, you hold the line.
- 27:05Speaker 6: No worries. Thank you.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Good on you, mate. G'day, Liam, you man. Bassett, how's life?
- 27:10Speaker 1: Hey, Jay. How are you, mate?
- 27:11Speaker 3: Yeah, good. Thanks, mate. Can't complain. What do you do
- 27:14Speaker 3: for a crust, Liam?
- 27:16Speaker 1: I'm a builder.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Oh, backbone.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Backbone. And how's beautiful Christchurch City today? It's stunning, bro. Yeah. Beautiful.
- 27:26Speaker 1: I heard it was 34 degrees today there, man. Is
- 27:28Speaker 1: that true?
- 27:30Speaker 3: No, I don't reckon it felt that hot, but definitely
- 27:32Speaker 3: not bad.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Hey, Liam, what are you building at the moment, man? Oh, true.
- 27:37Speaker 3: Just townhouses, folks. Oh, bloody townhouses.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Any off-street parking, Liam?
- 27:44Speaker 3: Not much, folks. Yeah. That's all right. Yeah, that'd be right.
- 27:47Speaker 1: That's all right. My favourite, man.
- 27:48Speaker 3: Good on you, mate.
- 27:49Speaker 4: Hey, Liam, what are you thinking, grand final or Bathurst, mate?
- 27:52Speaker 3: Grand final all day. Yeah, good on you. Good on you, mate.
- 27:55Speaker 1: You're in the draw there, mate. Hold the line. Pugs
- 27:57Speaker 1: will sort you out.
- 27:58Speaker 4: And fellas, just quickly, let's put another person in the
- 28:00Speaker 4: draw just.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Because we can.
- 28:02Speaker 2: G'day, Anna.
- 28:02Speaker 1: How you going?
- 28:04Speaker 6: Hey, good.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 28:05Speaker 3: That's great. So how's beautiful Dunedin today, Anna?
- 28:08Speaker 6: Oh, stunning as always.
- 28:11Speaker 1: I heard it was eight degrees there today.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Is that true?
- 28:14Speaker 1: No, not that high. Oh, yes.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Come on, Mogi. Tell me, Anna, what do you do
- 28:19Speaker 3: for a crust?
- 28:21Speaker 5: I'm a graphic designer.
- 28:23Speaker 4: And are you thinking Bathurst or Grand.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Final, Anna?
- 28:28Speaker 5: It's got to be the Grand Final.
- 28:30Speaker 6: I won't be allowed home if I pick.
- 28:32Speaker 4: The other one.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Yeah, fair enough. You're in the draw. Pugs will look
- 28:37Speaker 1: after you, all right?
- 28:38Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 28:39Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 28:39Speaker 1: No worries.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Thank you, Anna. She seemed lovely, didn't she?
- 28:43Speaker 4: Certainly did, Jase. More chances to get yourself in the
- 28:45Speaker 4: draw tomorrow on Hodaki. Later on this hour, though, keep listening.
- 28:49Speaker 4: We do have a double pass to the Warriors home
- 28:51Speaker 4: game this weekend.
- 28:51Speaker 5: To give away.
- 28:52Speaker 1: How good.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I've got my phone poised and ready.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Jase, you can't win it.
- 28:55Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 28:55Speaker 4: And up next, we've got Johnny Brough and Jackie Van
- 28:58Speaker 4: Beekfellis to discuss a brand.
- 29:00Speaker 1: New comedy New Zealand movie. How good.
- 29:04Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 29:08Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Wednesday night's absolutely
- 29:13Speaker 3: going off. You're listening to The Big Show brought to
- 29:16Speaker 3: you by Reburger.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that will change
- 29:21Speaker 4: the game.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Mmm, yummy. Yeah, great stuff. What's on the plate tonight?
- 29:28Speaker 1: That's a good question, Hoity J. I'm not too sure, mate.
- 29:31Speaker 1: As you know, I never know. Last night was a
- 29:33Speaker 1: nice surprise.
- 29:34Speaker 3: I was going to ask, yes.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Last night was a nice surprise. I got home and
- 29:38Speaker 1: everybody had gone out for dinner. Oh. Oh, that's a
- 29:42Speaker 1: nice time. Who cares? Yeah. Not a word to me.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Didn't know anything about it. Got home. Nobody there. Everybody
- 29:50Speaker 1: out for dinner.
- 29:50Speaker 4: Because it was your wife, obviously, her brother.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Mother, sister, all of them. Family dinner, yeah. Yeah, my
- 29:56Speaker 1: daughter as well, obviously, out there as well. And look,
- 29:59Speaker 1: I don't fault them for that. Yeah. I hope they
- 30:02Speaker 1: had a lovely time. But it would have been nice
- 30:04Speaker 1: to be invited.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I hear you, man.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Would you have gone? No. No, it was nice to
- 30:08Speaker 1: be at home by myself.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Yeah, a bit of spare time, a bit of you
- 30:11Speaker 3: down time. A bit of mogey time in the lounge there.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Yeah, nice. Easy.
- 30:15Speaker 3: Nice.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Jase, what are you having for dinner tonight, man?
- 30:19Speaker 3: I'm yet to decide.
- 30:21Speaker 1: What do you think? Hmm. You know what would be nice?
- 30:25Speaker 1: Some of that ham from the other week. A nice
- 30:27Speaker 1: little toasted sandwich there. It's all gone, Maggie. Damn it.
- 30:31Speaker 3: We biffed it about four days ago.
- 30:34Speaker 1: You biffed it?
- 30:35Speaker 3: Well, we ate most of it.
- 30:37Speaker 1: We were quite clear that we wanted some of that ham.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Now you're throwing it in the bin?
- 30:42Speaker 3: Well, I was down to the bone.
- 30:45Speaker 4: Oh, you threw away the bone. I would have gnawed
- 30:47Speaker 4: on that.
- 30:48Speaker 3: I know you would have.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Well, then why'd you throw it away? But what is
- 30:52Speaker 1: for dinner, though?
- 30:52Speaker 3: What do you reckon? I don't know.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Are you not listening?
- 30:56Speaker 3: Recommend something for me. My wife's meeting me.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Well, I suggested a toasted sandwich, and you poo-pooed it.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Actually, I've got a toasty, I think, Keezy.
- 31:05Speaker 1: A toasty. All right, cool.
- 31:06Speaker 3: That's good.
- 31:07Speaker 1: What are you having, Keezy, man? Oh, yeah. Yum. She-Hard. Mmm.
- 31:12Speaker 4: Mmm.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Is that a restaurant? Yeah.
- 31:15Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 31:18Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Yes, indeed, the killers there on the Radio Hauraki Big
- 31:23Speaker 3: Show this Wednesday evening. The time is 14 minutes past
- 31:27Speaker 3: 6 o'clock.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Hey, fellas, I'm pretty sure that Warriors cuticle just played.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Of course, that means that literally the very first person
- 31:39Speaker 4: to get through.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 4: On 0800 HODAKI, instantly gets a double pass to this
- 31:43Speaker 4: weekend's sold-out home final, which I am going to.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Hell good.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I'm bloody fizzed up. Let's just go to number one, right?
- 31:49Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do it, man. Here we go. G'day, Michael,
- 31:51Speaker 3: you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, good.
- 31:54Speaker 1: How are you, mad bastard?
- 31:55Speaker 3: Yeah, good.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Thanks, mate.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Obviously, Michael, I'm picking you're a bit of a Waz fan. Yeah, man.
- 32:02Speaker 5: Had my phone on the, thumb on the phone then waiting.
- 32:05Speaker 1: We're just going to say what, we're just going to
- 32:08Speaker 1: ask you what your strategy was, mate, because you were quick.
- 32:10Speaker 1: You were quick.
- 32:11Speaker 5: I've had my thumb on the phone since bloody East Tamaki.
- 32:14Speaker 5: I'm back out West Auckland now.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Good on you, brother. Now, I only got one rule here, man,
- 32:19Speaker 1: and this has been going on. We've noticed a lot
- 32:21Speaker 1: of these tickets that went for sale for the final
- 32:23Speaker 1: on Saturday afternoon there, Saturday evening. They've been shown up
- 32:27Speaker 1: on Trade Me.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Nah.
- 32:28Speaker 1: You're not allowed to stick them on Trade Me, man.
- 32:30Speaker 1: You've got to go to the game. Can you do that?
- 32:32Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Good on you, mate.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Who are you going to take, Michael? My son's been
- 32:37Speaker 3: asked him to.
- 32:37Speaker 1: How good. Harold's your son. I've got to take my son,
- 32:41Speaker 1: I think. How old is he? He's 10.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Oh, mate. Backbone. There you go. Well, Michael, good news, mate.
- 32:47Speaker 1: You're going to the game this weekend, brother.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Goza. Up the waz. Up the waz.
- 32:52Speaker 1: See you there, Michael. Have a bloody great time, all right?
- 32:55Speaker 3: How good.
- 32:55Speaker 5: Good, guys.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Thank you. Good on you, mate. No worries.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Hold the line there.
- 33:00Speaker 3: His son will be fizzing.
- 33:01Speaker 1: His son's never known the Warriors to be terrible. I've
- 33:04Speaker 1: got a problem with that. There is something in that,
- 33:06Speaker 1: isn't there? There is.
- 33:07Speaker 4: Being there when they were absolutely shit.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Yeah, but even then I was still a massive Wiles fan.
- 33:13Speaker 5: Were you?
- 33:14Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Even through the tough times.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Who's your all-time favourite warrior? Oh, yeah.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Look, it's really, really hard to go past Kevin Campion.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Kevin Campion?
- 33:26Speaker 3: You're right.
- 33:26Speaker 1: He did play one season there, didn't he?
- 33:28Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a hard one. Of course, you're Stacey. I mean,
- 33:32Speaker 3: he's a legend, isn't he?
- 33:33Speaker 1: Stacey Jones.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. It's hard, it's hard.
- 33:39Speaker 1: It can be hard. Well, Moggy, you're a long-time fan.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Who would be yours? I'll be honest with you. I
- 33:46Speaker 1: don't think I've ever really had a favourite. I tell
- 33:49Speaker 1: you who I used to love. No, it's a lie.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Ali Mlaotiti.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Yeah, he was great.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Would have been my favourite. And also I loved Wade McKinnon.
- 33:58Speaker 4: Wade McKinnon's my all-time favourite.
- 33:59Speaker 3: When he was.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Fullback because he would hit his shoulder. Like if somebody
- 34:02Speaker 1: got tackled, they're looking at offload, Wade McKinnon would hit
- 34:05Speaker 1: his shoulder at about a billion miles an hour through
- 34:08Speaker 1: the gap. And he might get it one time out
- 34:10Speaker 1: of 12. But when he got it, she was lights out, baby.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Bloody oath. He's my all-time favourite.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Who was the guy that was famous for just– steaming
- 34:20Speaker 3: up the guts.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Off the back fence. Paliacina was one of them, and
- 34:26Speaker 1: he put his head down and sort of burrowed through
- 34:28Speaker 1: the other side.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it was something like, oh, I can't remember.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Go on, have a go at it.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Otro Ocasini.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Thank you. There you go. Yeah, Ocasini. Yeah, he was
- 34:39Speaker 3: the dude.
- 34:41Speaker 4: You've got that and you've got the opposite of that,
- 34:42Speaker 4: which is Ruben Wiki stopping.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Dudes from doing that.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Yeah, he was a legend.
- 34:46Speaker 4: One of the all-time greats. We could sit here all
- 34:49Speaker 4: day and talk about the wars.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Yeah, totally. I could.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Well, let's do it then. Okay. Who do you want
- 34:54Speaker 1: to chat about next?
- 34:57Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 35:00Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 35:02Speaker 3: We'll see you both there on the Hodaki Big Show
- 35:05Speaker 3: this Wednesday evening. The time, 25 minutes past 6 o'clock.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Fellas, got a bit of a dilemma.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Are you familiar?
- 35:12Speaker 4: A couple of years ago, myself, my beautiful wife and
- 35:16Speaker 4: Mania and his partner, we went to Bali together.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:19Speaker 1: We went there for a friend's birthday and.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Mania accused me of upgrading myself to premium economy whilst
- 35:27Speaker 4: he sat back there with the two partners.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Is that when you got swimmer's ear?
- 35:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Well, one of the times, yeah. Because I also got
- 35:34Speaker 4: it in Sri Lanka and I've had it a couple
- 35:36Speaker 4: of times since.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I've actually got it right now.
- 35:40Speaker 3: But you did upgrade to.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Yeah, but the full story is, Jase, that because my
- 35:46Speaker 4: wife and I fly to Christchurch so often, because that's
- 35:48Speaker 4: where her family's from, we, using our airpoints, get Kudu
- 35:52Speaker 4: every year. Yeah. Basically, which is nice. So we've got
- 35:55Speaker 4: the Kudu membership there. And once per year, you get
- 35:58Speaker 4: yourself a free upgrade from economy to premium economy.
- 36:01Speaker 1: However, it's just for one person.
- 36:02Speaker 4: Yes. So in that situation, we upgraded me. And then
- 36:05Speaker 4: I said, we'll bid for an upgrade for my wife. However,
- 36:09Speaker 4: she chose the amount.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:10Speaker 4: And she's a bit more sensible with money than old
- 36:12Speaker 4: Keezy is. So naturally, we missed out on it massively.
- 36:15Speaker 4: And so I went up there. She stayed behind.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Yes.
- 36:17Speaker 4: So this time, because we're going on holiday in a
- 36:18Speaker 4: few weeks' time, I was like, you get the upgrade regardless,
- 36:23Speaker 4: but we'll bid for me to join you up there.
- 36:27Speaker 4: My question is, how much would you bid for an upgrade?
- 36:31Speaker 3: Well, I'm picking your probably because there's no way that
- 36:35Speaker 3: you'll allow your wife to go into premium economy and
- 36:38Speaker 3: you'll stay in economy.
- 36:39Speaker 4: No, that's the deal. She gets the upgrade.
- 36:41Speaker 3: $ 1, 500? $ 2, 000?
- 36:42Speaker 1: Yeah, $ 3, 000. Whatever it costs.
- 36:45Speaker 5: $ 3, 000?
- 36:45Speaker 3: Yeah, totally.
- 36:46Speaker 4: I should have just bought. It would have been cheaper
- 36:48Speaker 4: to actually just buy that if I was going to
- 36:49Speaker 4: do that.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Yeah. You know what I mean? You've shared a shocker there.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you should have just got it done beforehand. That's
- 36:54Speaker 3: bad planning, Keezy.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Okay, well, I didn't, right?
- 36:56Speaker 4: So what we're going to do is just sort of
- 36:58Speaker 4: deal with the situation in.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Front of us.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Well, how much would... What is the difference between the
- 37:04Speaker 1: ticket prices? Because it's hard for me to guess what
- 37:07Speaker 1: you should bid if I don't know what it would
- 37:09Speaker 1: normally have cost.
- 37:10Speaker 4: Okay, I think– I'm pretty sure it was a while
- 37:13Speaker 4: ago now we jumped on a deal. I think my
- 37:15Speaker 4: wife and I are flying to Tokyo and home for
- 37:19Speaker 4: just over $ 3, 000 all up, which is a really good deal, direct,
- 37:24Speaker 4: which is great, Air New Zealand.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:26Speaker 4: And so I think in order to go premium economy,
- 37:29Speaker 4: it would have cost probably double that at least.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 37:32Speaker 1: You're sort of six, you know what I mean? Yes.
- 37:34Speaker 4: I mean, I don't have that kind of cash laying around,
- 37:35Speaker 4: not Jase.
- 37:36Speaker 3: 500 bucks.
- 37:37Speaker 1: You reckon 500? Yeah.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Because when I open it up to bid, it sets
- 37:40Speaker 4: the default as $ 1, 000, which is crazy for a seat.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Yeah, nah.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Sounds like old Keezy's going to be sitting up the back.
- 37:48Speaker 1: It does, doesn't it?
- 37:49Speaker 3: It really does. It does. By the bog there.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Well, I don't instantly have to sit by the bog.
- 37:54Speaker 1: But you'd ask for it. Oh, true, yeah. Because you'd be,
- 37:56Speaker 1: you know.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Yeah, straight in there. I always go business. Do you? Yeah.
- 38:02Speaker 3: One of my favorite things to do is to get
- 38:04Speaker 3: on the plane and sit down and then go down
- 38:06Speaker 3: into economy and go, ha, ha, ha, and then walk
- 38:09Speaker 3: back up to business.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Okay.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:12Speaker 3: He does. He loves it.
- 38:13Speaker 1: But you don't really ever fly anywhere.
- 38:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I do, man.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 38:17Speaker 3: I don't know if you've heard this. I'm going to
- 38:19Speaker 3: Australia soon.
- 38:21Speaker 1: That's pretty bad. Do you think?
- 38:23Speaker 4: Because $ 1, 000 seems way too expensive to me.
- 38:25Speaker 1: I'd agree.
- 38:26Speaker 3: For a seat.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Seriously, I thought you'd be looking at like $ 150, $ 200.
- 38:31Speaker 3: That's where I thought the range would be.
- 38:34Speaker 1: The minimum is $ 400.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Right, okay.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I had one of those upgrades recently, Keezy. Yeah. It
- 38:39Speaker 1: was coming back from, what did it be, Magic Round, actually. Oh, yes,
- 38:42Speaker 1: that's right. And I tried to get an upgrade, and
- 38:45Speaker 1: I put it to business class. Because you were premium economy. No,
- 38:51Speaker 1: I was standee. Yeah, right. And you can jump, too.
- 38:54Speaker 1: You can jump, too, if you go to Australia on
- 38:57Speaker 1: a short sort of flight.
- 38:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:00Speaker 1: And then they came back and they said, oh, no,
- 39:02Speaker 1: I can't do it. And I said, what about premium economy?
- 39:05Speaker 1: They said, yes, there are premium economy seats, but you
- 39:07Speaker 1: ask for business, so you can't have the premium economy.
- 39:10Speaker 1: I said, so what happens with that seat? Does it
- 39:12Speaker 1: just stay empty? Yes. Yeah. And now that upgrade has expired.
- 39:17Speaker 1: It's gone. And I never get to use it. So
- 39:20Speaker 1: that's good shit.
- 39:21Speaker 4: What I want to know is– I want someone to
- 39:24Speaker 4: like message on 3483 or message me on Instagram or something.
- 39:28Speaker 4: I need some sort of insight as to how much
- 39:30Speaker 4: you can bid to get a seat without overbidding.
- 39:33Speaker 1: But you don't want to pay $ 1, 000.
- 39:35Speaker 3: No, $ 1, 000 is stupid.
- 39:36Speaker 1: So if that's where it starts, then you're out of
- 39:38Speaker 1: the game.
- 39:39Speaker 3: It's over.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Right. You know what I'm saying? In the bog there.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Yeah, you're in the bog.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Because can you even type anything lower than that?
- 39:44Speaker 3: $ 400.
- 39:45Speaker 1: You can't? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:46Speaker 4: So I'm thinking some– but even that, just for a seat–
- 39:49Speaker 4: For a slightly better meal?
- 39:51Speaker 1: To sit with my wife and not be by the bog?
- 39:53Speaker 1: That's the worst thing, isn't it? Yeah. I mean, you've
- 39:56Speaker 1: got to be away from there for two weeks.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Oh, God. Oh, my God. Yeah.

- 40:36Speaker 4: bucks worth how good which is a bloody good feed
- 40:38Speaker 4: bloody good this is one comes from anonymous fellas hello
- 40:42Speaker 4: there never thought I'd be asking you backbones for genuine
- 40:45Speaker 4: relationship advice but here goes and here you.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Are this is good by the way I knew you'd
- 40:50Speaker 1: be back man crawling We love the genuine stuff, you know.
- 40:54Speaker 4: My partner and I have been on a diet for
- 40:55Speaker 4: about three months and we've been incredibly strict with only
- 40:58Speaker 4: one cheap meal allocated per week.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 41:01Speaker 4: Which we typically do on a Sunday takeaway for dinner.
- 41:03Speaker 3: That's a treat.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Yeah, nice.
- 41:05Speaker 3: That's a treat. I like it.
- 41:06Speaker 4: This has been going well until two weeks ago. Oh, no.
- 41:09Speaker 4: She found out that every Friday when the food truck
- 41:11Speaker 4: shows up at work, I throw my salad in the
- 41:14Speaker 4: bin and absolutely keysie out on what can only be
- 41:16Speaker 4: described as a ridiculous amount of greasy baked goods.
- 41:20Speaker 1: She's absolutely filthy with me. He is, eh?
- 41:23Speaker 3: Nah, he's all G.
- 41:24Speaker 1: She's absolutely filthy with me, and my question is this.
- 41:26Speaker 4: Do I stop LARPing Keezy every Friday, or do I
- 41:30Speaker 4: continue and just lie about it?
- 41:32Speaker 1: Cheers. What are we with the LARPing? We're role-playing. Pretending
- 41:36Speaker 1: to be me. Pretending to be old Keezy there. Right, okay.
- 41:40Speaker 1: I think it's worse than cheating, actually.
- 41:42Speaker 3: Sexually.
- 41:43Speaker 1: What, eating food on a Friday? Yeah, well, any day
- 41:46Speaker 1: of the week. But more that you've made the commitment
- 41:48Speaker 1: to lose weight because you're a couple of shocking bastards.
- 41:51Speaker 1: And you're doing a food cheat. You know what I mean?
- 41:55Speaker 1: She would be filthy. Yeah. I'd be filthy.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Yes.
- 41:58Speaker 3: So, in other words, you've got to keep lying.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Well, she already knows. She's found out. She's found out.
- 42:04Speaker 4: But if you keep lying, then next time she finds out,
- 42:06Speaker 4: which she probably will, she'll be even more fuming.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:09Speaker 1: I think you've got to be a man of your word.
- 42:12Speaker 1: What are you doing? You go... She's been more disciplined
- 42:15Speaker 1: than you. Are you going to allow that?
- 42:16Speaker 3: Has she?
- 42:17Speaker 1: A relationship, well, as far as we know, a relationship
- 42:20Speaker 1: isn't the two of you working together towards a common goal.
- 42:23Speaker 1: It's a competition. It's man against woman.
- 42:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Is it?
- 42:28Speaker 3: Well, it is.
- 42:28Speaker 4: Because in my relationship, it's more like a team thing.
- 42:31Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 42:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 42:32Speaker 1: If one of you is slowing the other one down,
- 42:34Speaker 1: I guarantee it.
- 42:35Speaker 3: And one of you in that relationship is eating for three.
- 42:40Speaker 1: In my relationship?
- 42:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Eating for three?
- 42:42Speaker 3: Yes. Yeah.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Did you not hear about that? Is that me?
- 42:47Speaker 4: But the thing about my relationship is if this was happening,
- 42:50Speaker 4: I think in my relationship we'd probably have a bit
- 42:52Speaker 4: of a laugh about it. But it depends on the agreement,
- 42:56Speaker 4: why you're doing it. Is it for health reasons, that
- 42:58Speaker 4: sort of stuff? Is it something you both really need
- 43:00Speaker 4: to do and you know that you have to do
- 43:02Speaker 4: this thing?
- 43:02Speaker 3: It's a tricky one, isn't it? Because, you know, I
- 43:06Speaker 3: might be walking home from work, for example.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:08Speaker 3: And I'll buy myself a pie. Or some chicken nibbles.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Or some chicken nibbles.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Remember that early days?
- 43:13Speaker 3: Yes, I do. That was your first one. I do,
- 43:14Speaker 3: very much so. And I'll get quite full because, you know,
- 43:18Speaker 3: I'm not a big eater. And then I'll get home
- 43:20Speaker 3: and my wife's cooked a lovely meal. Yes. And I'm like, oh, God,
- 43:23Speaker 3: I'm going to have to kisi this.
- 43:24Speaker 1: What the hell does that mean?
- 43:26Speaker 3: It just means I'm going to have to eat even
- 43:29Speaker 3: more food.
- 43:30Speaker 1: You're going to have to gut it down. That's right.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Because I can't afford to admit.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right. Well, you shouldn't have jaced it in
- 43:38Speaker 1: the first place. You shouldn't have jaced it.
- 43:41Speaker 3: 15 dumplings on the way home.
- 43:42Speaker 4: If you're going to do that, you have to have
- 43:44Speaker 4: a small savoury if you're going to do that. Because
- 43:47Speaker 4: you can't eat a whole pie, let alone a pie
- 43:49Speaker 4: and dinner.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think that your wife would be happy, Keezy,
- 43:52Speaker 1: because she's been trying to get you to go for
- 43:54Speaker 1: walks and stuff. And you won't do it. And so
- 43:59Speaker 1: if you finally managed to get, if you finally agreed
- 44:01Speaker 1: to get on some kind of a diet plan, and
- 44:03Speaker 1: then she finds out that you've been down here in
- 44:05Speaker 1: the sausage rolls and the air fryer, absolutely making yourself
- 44:08Speaker 1: a full-on Keezy. Keezy-ing yourself up to the eyeballs, she'd
- 44:12Speaker 1: be fuming. I don't think she'd think it was funny
- 44:14Speaker 1: at all.
- 44:14Speaker 3: The other day, because Keezy gave me a lift to golf,
- 44:17Speaker 3: and he picked me up, and then he had to
- 44:19Speaker 3: stop on the side of the road and just clear
- 44:21Speaker 3: away all the bloody takeaway packets and stuff. Yeah, that's right.
- 44:24Speaker 1: I just called over the side of the road.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Just dumped it all out. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 44:27Speaker 4: He did, and I was like, come on, Keezy, man.
- 44:29Speaker 4: And then I said, sorry, that was just my breakfast.
- 44:32Speaker 4: But I guess the advice is, mate, you've got to.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Step up here. You've got to step up.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. I think so.
- 44:37Speaker 1: You have to do it. If you're committed to it,
- 44:38Speaker 1: you've got to do it. But this is the trouble,
- 44:40Speaker 1: isn't it? Because if it wasn't a big deal, if
- 44:41Speaker 1: it was easy, then you'd look at the food truck
- 44:44Speaker 1: and you'd say, no, no, it's easy. I'm not doing
- 44:46Speaker 1: that because me and the missus have got a deal
- 44:47Speaker 1: going on. But you're addicted to the good stuff. I'm
- 44:50Speaker 1: the same, man.
- 44:50Speaker 3: He's addicted to the good stuff.
- 44:52Speaker 4: I've got terrible self-control, as we've discussed at length in
- 44:56Speaker 4: this break in particular.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Well, it's only in the sense of, Keezy, that it's
- 45:00Speaker 3: pertinent to your situation.
- 45:02Speaker 1: That's right. Thanks, Jase. I mean, nobody makes a Keezy
- 45:05Speaker 1: of them more. A Keezy of themselves first, an old Keezy. Well,
- 45:08Speaker 1: who do you think invented Keezy-ing?
- 45:11Speaker 4: So I hope that helps. Just do the bloody thing.
- 45:13Speaker 4: Don't eat the food truck, all right?
- 45:15Speaker 3: Actually, you're keen on a bit of hot pot tonight.
- 45:17Speaker 3: I'm hungry, man.
- 45:18Speaker 2: The Hauraki Beat Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 45:21Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's a big
- 45:38Speaker 3: show done and dusted for you Wednesday. In the disclaimer podcast,
- 45:42Speaker 3: we had to hurry it up a bit because we
- 45:45Speaker 3: were running a bit late today, fellas.
- 45:46Speaker 4: We had a technical issue before the show started and
- 45:49Speaker 4: we were running out of time.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Oh, God, the pressure was on, fellas.
- 45:52Speaker 3: The pressure was on. We were talking rugby, I recall.
- 45:54Speaker 4: You guys were trading war stories of the good old
- 45:57Speaker 4: days on the footy field.
- 45:59Speaker 1: Yeah, dominating. Comes out at 7.30 tonight, by the way. Doodle.
- 46:03Speaker 3: This guy got a break, and I heroically, as the
- 46:07Speaker 3: last man standing, sprinted after him and was about to
- 46:10Speaker 3: deduce him in the corner, and he just sidestepped me
- 46:13Speaker 3: and scored under the bar. And we lost the game.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Glory days, man. They'll pass you by.
- 46:19Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 46:20Speaker 4: But the good news is, Jase, that you and I
- 46:22Speaker 4: have signed up and we're going to be playing Prems
- 46:24Speaker 4: rugby this year.
- 46:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Can't wait.
- 46:26Speaker 3: Can't wait. It's going to be real good.
- 46:28Speaker 1: I think that rugby league would suit you more, Jase.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I'm up the guts kind of guy.
- 46:33Speaker 1: You are. Sort of, you know, sniping runs out of
- 46:36Speaker 1: dummy half.
- 46:37Speaker 5: Yes.
- 46:37Speaker 1: And outside of that, just lobbing hospital balls to Keezy.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 46:41Speaker 3: Just big loopy bastards.
- 46:44Speaker 4: Jase, have you ever hit a run at straight comp?
- 46:46Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I've seen it, too.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Do you reckon we can have a go at it,
- 46:48Speaker 1: me and you?
- 46:49Speaker 3: Yeah, totally. Totally. Mogi, your plans for the night, please.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Man, well, I actually want to watch all of Mum,
- 46:59Speaker 1: I'm Alien Pregnant. I've been lucky enough to get myself
- 47:01Speaker 1: a screener, you see there, fellas.
- 47:03Speaker 4: Which is the movie that Johnny Brough and Jack Van
- 47:05Speaker 4: Beek were in.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Exactly right. And it's very, very funny. I've watched half
- 47:09Speaker 1: an hour of it. I'll restart it so that the
- 47:11Speaker 1: missus and the brother-in-law can watch as well. But it's really,
- 47:15Speaker 1: really good.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Dare I say that I think if they've missed a
- 47:19Speaker 1: trick anywhere, I think maybe the title would put people off.
- 47:22Speaker 3: Yes.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Because it's bloody funny.
- 47:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:24Speaker 1: It's really funny and really well acted and really well made.
- 47:26Speaker 1: And so I would say to people out there, don't
- 47:29Speaker 1: let the name fool you. It's a ripper.
- 47:30Speaker 4: It's in cinemas tomorrow, actually.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Tomorrow.
- 47:33Speaker 1: So if you want to go see a good comedy,
- 47:34Speaker 1: go see that.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Support local. Yeah.
- 47:37Speaker 3: What are you up to? Oh, what's for dinner, Keezy?
- 47:39Speaker 1: Oh, Keezy, man.
- 47:40Speaker 4: For dinner tonight, leftover curry from last night.
- 47:42Speaker 1: What was the curry last night?
- 47:44Speaker 4: It was like a lemongrass chicken thigh-y, really nice curry.
- 47:48Speaker 4: We're having that, and we've been to this thing now.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Did you have leftovers?
- 47:52Speaker 4: Having leftovers, and instead of having it for lunch the
- 47:54Speaker 4: next day, you have it for dinner.
- 47:55Speaker 1: I thought you'd sort of, during the day, because your
- 47:57Speaker 1: wife's out, you'd sort of get into the old fridge
- 47:59Speaker 1: there and just Keezy yourself.
- 48:01Speaker 4: Yeah, and then have to go take a fat mogi
- 48:03Speaker 4: afterwards to clear more space.
- 48:05Speaker 3: No, no. A fat mogi.
- 48:08Speaker 1: A big fat mogi.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff.
- 48:11Speaker 4: Mogi steamer. Jase, actually, we don't have time now.
- 48:13Speaker 3: I'm sorry. Oh, well. It's okay. I don't really have
- 48:16Speaker 3: much to share. But like Mogia, I'm going to the
- 48:19Speaker 3: play that he went to last night. And it's been
- 48:21Speaker 3: interesting because I'm like, how was it, man? I mean,
- 48:25Speaker 3: did you enjoy it? And he's been very, very, very
- 48:29Speaker 3: mums the word. You know what I mean?
- 48:31Speaker 1: It's up to you, Jase.
- 48:32Speaker 3: So he's obviously given me the option because initially my
- 48:35Speaker 3: wife was like, we've got that play.
