Latest / Mom Street USA / 118. Taking Better Photos at Disney World
Transcript
- 0:05Welcome everybody to Mob St. USA.
- 0:07My name is Jackie AKA Wishes Mama and I am joined today by
- 0:11two wonderful friends of the podcast.
- 0:14I am joined today by our good friends Ty and Sarah.
- 0:18And today we are going to be talking about how to take better
- 0:21photos at Disney. Now, don't take that as like an
- 0:25insult to your current knowledge, but we are hoping to
- 0:29maybe enhance a little bit of what you are doing in the parks
- 0:32and give you some additional things to think about when it
- 0:36comes to taking photos in the park.
- 0:38So that is the goal for today. But before we jump in, Sarah and
- 0:41Ty, how are you guys doing on this wonderful evening that
- 0:45we're chatting? Where do we really good, really
- 0:49good? It's been a little bit chaotic
- 0:52start, but we're here for it. We love it.
- 0:55We, we may have had some tech issues, just a few before we
- 0:58started recording, but. You know, you're the one video
- 1:02and of course this would all just happen, but we're doing
- 1:06really good. Yeah, no.
- 1:07And just wanted to say once again, thank you so much for
- 1:09letting us be a part of your podcast.
- 1:11And we're excited to just be here and hopefully give people
- 1:15some, maybe some tips that they may not, you know, thought
- 1:18about, you know, taking photos throughout the parks.
- 1:21So yeah, I'm excited. It's always fun when I can pull
- 1:25in people that know way more than me about things because
- 1:28while I know a ton about the parks, I know very little about
- 1:31taking photos. So this is the perfect mashup of
- 1:35our our knowledge here. So the the goal again tonight,
- 1:40like I said, is to give you guys just some tips and some things
- 1:42to think about. Sarah and Ty are experts on
- 1:46photos and videos and all that good stuff.
- 1:49So they are here to give us the rundown on photography and give
- 1:53us some accessible ideas that we can use.
- 1:57And we're also going to talk about maybe some hidden photo
- 2:00spots in the parks that we like. So whether you're using a cell
- 2:04phone or a digital camera or whatever device you have, our
- 2:08hope is that these tips will be able to kind of universally
- 2:11apply to everyone regardless of what you're using.
- 2:14So we're here to enhance the photos that you're already
- 2:17taking and give you some extra things to think about.
- 2:21We know that people that go to the parks, you want to document
- 2:24your memories. And while Photo Pass is a great
- 2:27option, and we've talked a lot about Photo Pass, I did a whole
- 2:30episode on Photo Pass not that long ago, they may not always be
- 2:35where you want them to be, right?
- 2:37So we've created this episode tonight to kind of help with
- 2:41that. So I think we're going to start
- 2:43here with talking about some our top five tips for kind of
- 2:49general photography information that you can apply kind of
- 2:53wherever you are in the park. So I will turn it over to Sarah
- 2:58and Ty to kind of guide us through their top five tips.
- 3:01So what do you guys have for us to start?
- 3:04Well, absolutely, 1st, I'm going to do say that these 5 tips are
- 3:07there are some actual good settings, opportunities that we
- 3:12could go through. But actually at the same time, a
- 3:15lot of these are kind of hitting more the mental aspect and also
- 3:19kind of more thinking outside the box of taking photos
- 3:23throughout the parks and stuff as well.
- 3:25I mean, personally, like our backgrounds, we shoot with a lot
- 3:29of talent, which if anybody doesn't know what a talent is,
- 3:31that's basically just like a person of like a point of
- 3:34interest. You know, I have a lot of
- 3:37clients that I will take photos of.
- 3:39And likewise with Sarah, she has a lot of model photos and
- 3:41photography for whatever it is. So captivating people inside
- 3:47photos, but also enhancing it is very much of our Forte of doing.
- 3:52And when we go through these parks, even though it's like our
- 3:56downtime, we still tend to take what we learned from that and
- 4:03apply it to our normal photos and videos that Sarah and I will
- 4:07do throughout the parks. And which is great that you have
- 4:10us on, because then that's what we could actually share it to
- 4:12everybody and not gatekeep the beautifulness of it.
- 4:14So no. Gatekeeping allowed.
- 4:17Never. No, Yeah, honestly we'll get
- 4:20start off immediately. The most important thing is I
- 4:23have to highly like really talk about is composition and framing
- 4:29of the actual photo alone. And I kind of want to break this
- 4:32down with you, Jackie. It's, it's the not only like
- 4:36what is in the photos, but like also the surroundings, the
- 4:38framing, maybe even the poses of the people in there and even the
- 4:42location of it. And I actually created a, a
- 4:47little metaphor today and then that is think like a
- 4:49storyteller, not a tourist. If you really look into the,
- 4:56what the photo you're taking, like what story are you trying
- 4:59to captivate in it? And I know that sounds really
- 5:04almost, I, I guess creative or I don't know how to explain that.
- 5:07But like, it really is one of those things where like, even if
- 5:10it's just like taking a photo of one of your kiddos or your
- 5:14significant other or even just like yourself, like as a selfie
- 5:17or whatever, like what type of story are you trying to portray?
- 5:21And so really what we tend to do is not only shoot different like
- 5:27structure or like like buildings of, you know, the surroundings.
- 5:33I mean, obviously it's beautiful, especially like the
- 5:34Main Street and like Magic Kingdom.
- 5:37I will say the castle. We're talking about a Millennium
- 5:39Falcon in Hollywood Studios, which is one of my favorites.
- 5:42I like surrounding areas, but like we're also talking about
- 5:45like like different little spots that you could probably find in
- 5:48the parks, like when your family is kind of going around and like
- 5:52a really kind of living in that type of moment.
- 5:56And that's kind of what it is, is I have like here and like a
- 5:59little bulletproof is like what what is your kids seeing
- 6:05something that is like maybe their first time?
- 6:07You know, it could be even just the like little thing of like
- 6:11the Mickey's pretzel, like for them to see that for the first
- 6:15time ever. And if you actually do buy one
- 6:17and just capturing them with that pretzel, like it's just
- 6:20they're, you know, their faces light up and stuff like that,
- 6:22like that photo is very important that they could end up
- 6:27enjoying, you know, in in the future.
- 6:30So, but there's also just different things like even like
- 6:34character interactions, little details, like I said, with like
- 6:38the snack carts, the signage, even hitting Mickeys that people
- 6:42tend to try to, you know, find and also like locations.
- 6:47It's also a big thing is with what is your surrounding.
- 6:52So for example, I always think of the signature like castle
- 6:55photo, right? Everyone thinks you want to go
- 6:58like like when I first went, I was like, I'm getting front row
- 7:01into the castle. You cut off half the castle,
- 7:03right? And so really big thing is pay
- 7:07attention to where the photo pass people are.
- 7:10They are further back. You can don't get in their way,
- 7:13obviously, but you can work around it and be like, oh, this
- 7:16angle is so much better for my kid.
- 7:18And you can see the whole castle instead of I have a photo of me
- 7:21and you see the stage because it's taller than me and then a
- 7:24little bit of the castle. So, you know, just look around
- 7:28that. And I know it's a place where
- 7:32you like want to take, you know, not have your phone with you and
- 7:36enjoy it. But it's also like, I'm so
- 7:39guilty of this. I love to document these moments
- 7:42so much. So there's really not a bad time
- 7:47to pull out your phone and be like, this will be a good
- 7:49moment. Them waiting in line for the
- 7:51first time for a ride that they're excited for, characters,
- 7:54just anything like that. It's worth documenting.
- 7:57What I think too, going along with what Ty was talking about
- 8:00with the storytelling, like not only thinking about the story
- 8:03you want to portray, but thinking about the memory that
- 8:05you want to capture, right? So it may from the outside look
- 8:09like just a picture of your kid with, you know, a churro in
- 8:13their hand. But maybe it's their first ever
- 8:15churro they've ever tried because you don't have somewhere
- 8:17near you that sells them. Or, you know, whatever it may
- 8:20be, you're not only going to capture the story, but in turn,
- 8:24you're also capturing the memory.
- 8:25So that way you can look back at that photo and see exactly what
- 8:29was happening. And you remember and it like,
- 8:31immediately takes you back. Like, I've got photos from my
- 8:34kids first trips. That's like, yeah, I can like
- 8:37literally take myself back to that moment and just by looking
- 8:40at the picture. Yes, that's the, that's the
- 8:43whole purpose of documenting it. You know, like it's memory for
- 8:47you and for them. You know #2 is a big one is take
- 8:53the photo even if you feel uncomfortable, like if it's
- 8:56yourself and you want you know those cute little what you see
- 9:00everyone posting. And you're going to Instagram.
- 9:03Photos. You deserve those photos of
- 9:07yourself or your friends or your kids.
- 9:10Just take it. Nobody's going to see you.
- 9:13If they don't know you, you're never going to see them again.
- 9:15I have to drill this in my head, so I want to drill it in your
- 9:18guys's head. Just take the photos.
- 9:20Like don't obviously be in people's way, like be mindful of
- 9:23that, but it's going to do the uncomfortable, you know?
- 9:27Yeah. And this is kind of like what I
- 9:28was talking about too, is like a lot of our or a lot of the tips
- 9:31that we do have is actually like strategies for better shots for
- 9:36your phone or like camera that you're using.
- 9:38But the same time that realistically this is a very
- 9:40important thing like Sarah was saying is, is it's very kind of
- 9:44crucial because as a person that we shoot constantly for clients
- 9:49and stuff like I feel comfortable behind the camera.
- 9:52I don't get that weird like secondhand embarrassments, but
- 9:57but when it comes to me being front of the camera and like
- 10:01taking photo, like for example, when you like when we were
- 10:04hanging out at the Oh my gosh, what was that called?
- 10:08Potato land. No, no, no, not potato land.
- 10:11I mean, that was also a good one too.
- 10:12Potato. Land What was the Jolly Wood
- 10:15Jelly wood? When we were at Jolly Wood and I
- 10:18was in line to go see Donald Duck.
- 10:20Obviously I love Donald Duck, but me being like a 32 year old
- 10:24guy, like I'm standing in line with no child and I want to take
- 10:28a photo of Tom Duck because I love him.
- 10:30I love Donald Duck and just so much.
- 10:32But like for me though, to get that photo, like I was like,
- 10:35this is really weird. But I really wanted it though.
- 10:37And it's just like one of those like situations that you got to
- 10:40make it fun, especially like, you know, with me with Mike
- 10:42Wazowski and I like Mike Wazowski down.
- 10:45Like I made that interaction fun.
- 10:48By the same time, though, if I didn't, if I was super
- 10:52uncomfortable and I didn't want to do that, then I would have
- 10:54not gotten those, those memories and those moments.
- 10:58And so I'm but I'm glad I did. So.
- 11:00But if you kind of if you, I understand that this could be
- 11:04hard for people to do it, But if you just kind of mentally tell
- 11:07yourself that I will never see these people ever again because
- 11:12they're they're doing their own trip, they're doing their own
- 11:14thing too. They're going to have, you know,
- 11:16I mean, like I see those families that have those 50 plus
- 11:20people that are all wearing the same shirt.
- 11:22Like, I mean, you can't tell me that out of like that fifty
- 11:25people, like at least five of those, those people don't want
- 11:28to carry this shirt because it like unifies them And like
- 11:32that's, you know, that takes a lot of, you know, guts to even
- 11:34do so. It's like realistically, we kind
- 11:36of get through that hump of just like, I'm never going to see
- 11:40these people over again, Even even local people, like you're
- 11:43never going to see people again. And it's just like enjoyed how
- 11:47you want to enjoy it and get the photo with the characters or the
- 11:50location or get the, you know, balloon shot, whatever you want
- 11:53to get, like just just go and get that because it's definitely
- 11:56it's going to be very crucial to get.
- 11:57Yeah, and I think especially like myself as a mom, I get
- 12:01stuck in the like, well, I'm just going to take a picture of
- 12:04my kids or my kids can just go take the picture.
- 12:06And it's like, no, you have to push yourself.
- 12:08Put yourself in the photo. If you're a solo parent or a
- 12:13solo adult with kiddos in the park, ask someone to take your
- 12:16photos if you're not at a photo pass location, like make sure
- 12:19that you're. Yeah, exactly.
- 12:21They will. They will have no problem doing
- 12:23that. So.
- 12:25Or usually another little extra tip, if you sometimes like I
- 12:29will offer if I see somebody trying to take a selfie couple,
- 12:32I'm like, do you want me to take a photo?
- 12:33And they normally turn around and says, do you want me to do
- 12:35the same for you? And it's like, yeah, thank you.
- 12:38Like I promise you, it's not. It's not scary like it is, but
- 12:41it's not like. And I will say, trash cans make
- 12:45great little tripods if you happen to need one to set one up
- 12:49to do like a timed photo situation.
- 12:53But yeah, there's lots of. I use my book bag to get photos
- 12:57and I screenshot them with Ty and I like us too.
- 13:00I'm like book bag it up like we happen, you know?
- 13:03Right, right. And that also being said, Photo
- 13:05Pass photographers will take photos on your devices.
- 13:10You just have just have to ask them.
- 13:12So if you're getting the, you know, the standard Main Street
- 13:17Castle shot, they're going to take it on their camera, but
- 13:20they're also totally willing to take it on yours.
- 13:22Again, you just have to ask, which is hard.
- 13:25And it can be hard if you're trying to wrangle little ones or
- 13:27you've got a bigger group or whatever's going on.
- 13:29But you just, you just got to ask them and they are more than
- 13:32happy to do that. Yes, that's a that's another
- 13:35just like professional tip. If you ever taking a photo with
- 13:39families, with little ones, make sure you get the shots with
- 13:41everybody with the little ones before anything else because you
- 13:45have like 10 minutes. Like I know that we don't have
- 13:47kids, but I've worked at plenty of studios and also weddings and
- 13:53family like family portraits to understand when you have a
- 13:57toddler or somebody that's under the age of five, you have like
- 14:01you have like 10 minutes and then start it's like right when
- 14:03they step foot. And so like realistically, we
- 14:06treat it the same way. It's like just get those photos,
- 14:09those main photos of large group 1st.
- 14:11And then if you need to do some little split offs between like
- 14:14whatever, then definitely get those.
- 14:15And obviously those will be bonus, but make sure you get the
- 14:19priority is the main group before anything else.
- 14:22And I I promise you, it's you'll get at least something out of
- 14:25it. Yeah, we my last big family
- 14:27trip, there were ten of us and four of them were kids and they
- 14:30were 864 and and 1. And so it, we literally our
- 14:37first morning that we walked into Magic Kingdom, I looked at
- 14:40everyone and I said, this is your mandatory group shot
- 14:44because and I, my parents who are with us, my, my father does,
- 14:48he is not a photo taker. He hates taking pictures.
- 14:52And so I was like, this is your one mandatory one.
- 14:54I promise you I will not require you to be in any other photos
- 14:57the rest of our week. But we have to get a family
- 15:01photo of all of us together in front of the castle.
- 15:03And we did it first thing when we walked in during early entry
- 15:07before we did anything else, because I was like, we won't
- 15:10have any meltdowns. We won't have ice cream on our
- 15:13shirts. We won't have any of that.
- 15:15We're doing it now. Look happy and not over
- 15:18stimulated, like everything's great, yeah.
- 15:21Yep exactly. So I totally I love that one.
- 15:24Take the photo even if you feel uncomfortable.
- 15:27No one's watching. Ask for someone to take the
- 15:29photo even if you're not super comfy about it.
- 15:32I guarantee you they whoever you ask is going to be more than
- 15:35happy to do it for you. Yes, and I understand like not
- 15:39liking to be in photos, but you're one day going to look
- 15:42back and be like, I wish I was, you know, even one, just one.
- 15:46Right. Yeah.
- 15:47So absolutely. I love that.
- 15:49All right, what's #3 on the list?
- 15:51I'm excited to hear more. Let's do it.
- 15:53OK, so #3 is lighting is key. So let's break down lighting.
- 15:59Just we're going to just talk about just the importance of
- 16:02lighting in general and also breaking down throughout the
- 16:06entire day. So obviously when you're taking
- 16:10a photo, like depending on where you're at and the location of
- 16:15the parks, especially if you're going to Florida, and I
- 16:17guarantee is the same thing in California, but I'm going to
- 16:20just say it's in Florida because that's where we go to the most,
- 16:24that the sun is very, very bright during the daytime.
- 16:29And so making sure that you're hitting certain spots in the
- 16:32parks in the certain time frame of the day will give you better
- 16:35photos than others. Obviously all of our phone does
- 16:39auto so like they it does great regardless.
- 16:43But at the same time, though, if you're doing a larger group of
- 16:46people, that's when you start tend on getting more like
- 16:49shadows. And obviously people are going
- 16:50in between different windows of people.
- 16:52And then you may start losing just themselves in the photo
- 16:58because there's a weird cat like a the cast of a shadow or
- 17:01whatever. They just got to be very mindful
- 17:03of those and which will break down each day.
- 17:05But realistically, though, lighting is very crucial for any
- 17:10parts of the actual parks alone. So let's start so boarding time.
- 17:16Obviously you kind of have more the the blue period, which is
- 17:19kind of the opposite of golden hour.
- 17:20So obviously, right when the roast drop and stuff like that,
- 17:23the the sun's still coming up at the same time where there's not
- 17:27going to be as amount of like casting shadows because
- 17:31obviously the sun is not fully up yet.
- 17:32So definitely taking time on if you are Rd. dropping like that
- 17:37would be a good time to get some good photos here and there, you
- 17:41know, and just kind of because it is more softer lights where
- 17:46it will diffuse, you know, you know, you won't have people like
- 17:51squinty eyes even or even like that.
- 17:53You don't have to really worry about the sun at all.
- 17:56So is anything you? Want to say no, I was going to
- 17:58say like for a prime example, the lines.
- 18:01I know the lines for rope drop in the morning sometimes could
- 18:05be longer because of the lighting but when you try to go
- 18:09to many of the main like icon park shots when it is like 1 or
- 18:1612 to like 2. Those lines are not long because
- 18:19you're directly in the sun and you're squinting the whole time.
- 18:22So there's a reason why I understand that the line is a
- 18:25little bit longer. But if there is a prime icon of
- 18:28like the Epcot ball, Tower of Terror, the castle, or even the
- 18:34the tree of life or the entrance of DAC, I would try to get those
- 18:39first thing in the morning when it's not harsh lighting because
- 18:42that's your your best time or rate when the sun starts going
- 18:44down so that you have a good family portrait.
- 18:47Because I understand like you just want to get, you see, the
- 18:50line is short. Let's just get the photo.
- 18:51But majority of the time they're wearing sunglasses, You're
- 18:54squinting because it's the worst lighting and it's directly on
- 18:57you. Yeah.
- 18:59And then we'll kind of move into more of the midday now.
- 19:01So like this is the midday sun is obviously going to be the
- 19:04hottest point of the day, especially if you're going in
- 19:06more the summertime or just in general, even in like December
- 19:09stuff, it's pretty warm from new to 2:00-ish.
- 19:12But this is going to be very tricky because now the sun is
- 19:15completely up now at this point, I would really suggest you
- 19:19looking for like shade, any overhangs even I know there's
- 19:23some like cover spots near like the left side of the castle.
- 19:28I don't know like what the actual like building is but if I
- 19:31had a map out I could show you exactly what I'm talking about
- 19:33but. Over by Crystal Palace area left
- 19:38as you're looking at the castles.
- 19:40Of the live castle, like from the Main Street part, like where
- 19:42you're like you. The left or the right, they have
- 19:44those. It's where like the the little.
- 19:48Turrets with the little yeah, yeah, yeah, I got you.
- 19:50They're fur. Like that, yeah, that's a good
- 19:54spot because it's like you have like a a spot where it's shaded,
- 19:58shaded, but then at the same time where you get a really good
- 20:00backdrop of like the castle or even honestly, like anywhere
- 20:03personally. I mean, let's, let's be honest,
- 20:05like any. Any angles that you get in
- 20:09Disney is a perfect angle. And I mean, is it designed that
- 20:12way? I feel like personally like if
- 20:14we really want a deep dive in that, but that's a whole nother
- 20:17podcast. But like literally though, like
- 20:19it is like honestly any angle's perfect, but definitely finding
- 20:24shadow or like more shaded areas.
- 20:27And then also if you are like in the open, make sure the sun is
- 20:30actually behind you, not in front of you, because that will
- 20:33reduce the amount of squinting eyes and stuff and it'll help
- 20:36out a lot of people just to figure all of that out.
- 20:41I we could talk about full on locations later on that.
- 20:46But other than that though, like really you're kind of focusing
- 20:49on like just more shaded areas for it.
- 20:52And then and really that's pretty much it on that.
- 20:55Do you have anything to say on the midday ones?
- 20:57Yeah, it's you can. Also the easiest way to know
- 21:00where the sun is is it's gonna sound so silly, like it's that
- 21:04simple. Look how your shadow is going
- 21:07and then face the other way so that it's you're you're going.
- 21:11Yeah, you're going without having or the easiest way that I
- 21:14see families do, I've seen this, witnessed it in the park, is
- 21:17they're going with their kid and they're like, keep going, OK,
- 21:20you're not squinting at me anymore.
- 21:22Let's get the photo. Sometimes it's that simple.
- 21:25But midday, when the sun is directly above you, in general,
- 21:28I don't see why you would want to take because that's when
- 21:31you're the sweatiest, you're the hottest.
- 21:33You want to be an AC? Take photos inside if you can.
- 21:38That's just my personal opinion because I don't take any photos
- 21:42during midday. Heat, yeah.
- 21:45And I will say with that too, even if you're looking for shade
- 21:47though I would caution to be sure that you are like fully one
- 21:51or the other. You don't want any awkward like
- 21:53shadow lines coming across like faces.
- 21:57Hot spots through trees and stuff are a very, if it's a
- 22:00smaller group, it's easier to maneuver for that.
- 22:02But if it's a bigger, like, you know, it's a family of five or
- 22:05something, one of them hits it, you're like, well, that kind of
- 22:08ruined. Like I see it.
- 22:09Right now or like you've got one person that like the, the shade
- 22:12line is like across their face and you're like, oh man.
- 22:15So just like be aware of the, the space when it comes to,
- 22:18yeah, depending on how many people you have or even if it's
- 22:19just a smaller group, making sure that you're like all in the
- 22:23shade or all not in the shade to help.
- 22:25Like if you do end up going back to do any editing or anything
- 22:28like that, it'll make your life a whole lot easier if you don't
- 22:31have to mess with lines from shadows.
- 22:34Yes. And then we have two more
- 22:37moments of the day. Obviously a lot of people's
- 22:40favorites and also our favorite, one of our favorites actually is
- 22:45golden hour. It's exactly what it means.
- 22:48This is the moment of like sunset where you have roughly
- 22:52technically you have like 45 minutes, but you have a roughly
- 22:5545 minutes of this beautiful sunset moment where you, you get
- 23:02beautiful soft lights with the rich colors and little to no
- 23:06harsh shadowing that's happening.
- 23:08And these moments right here are like, if you want that more just
- 23:13cinematic look or even just that I I call them Moody vibes.
- 23:18This is your moment and you have like 45 minutes to get all.
- 23:22But at the same time though, it's, it's good.
- 23:24Everybody looks good. The magic hour, a golden hour
- 23:28like it is like a diffuser on your skin.
- 23:31It is the best time to take photos or even if you just want
- 23:34pretty photos of like the castle or like a window, it's just the
- 23:38prime time to take photos. So this is when I go have fun
- 23:42like during the time. Yeah, my, my first solo trip on
- 23:47the first day I was in Hollywood studios and, and I like, you
- 23:50know what? I wasn't paying attention at 1st
- 23:52and like golden hour started like I could feel it because I
- 23:55was standing in Galaxy's Edge and I was like, oh, it's my
- 23:58time. And I was like hanging out with
- 23:59friends. I was like, I'll be back.
- 24:00I got to go. And I like ran ran to to Toy
- 24:02Story Land and got a photos and videos and ran back to the
- 24:06galaxy's edge and cuz it was like I have a window.
- 24:09I gotta get a. Man.
- 24:11If you want the best moments depending on the cloud coverage,
- 24:16this is a crucial tip for anybody who's listening right
- 24:18now and also watching the post version of this.
- 24:22Look up when is sunset and then add five to 10 minutes after it
- 24:28and now 10 minutes. If it's if it's clear skies, you
- 24:31will get the ultimate golden hour glow.
- 24:36If if it's a little bit cloudy, 5 minutes and if it's really
- 24:40cloudy, hit it exactly on sunset.
- 24:43Those moments are the most like important part to get the actual
- 24:48moments. That's why I do with my
- 24:49weddings, even especially when I take the bride and groom out and
- 24:53like on the fields and getting that crazy just golden look.
- 24:57It's because I'm hitting those moments.
- 24:58So definitely every single day just kind of like look and see
- 25:01like OK, like when sunset, OK, it's it's 835.
- 25:05OK, so at 8:45 I'm, you know, at the Millennium Falcon or I'm at
- 25:10the castle and I am having a photo shoot like it is a bang,
- 25:15like it's to start shooting constantly.
- 25:17But yeah, though that is the that is the main part.
- 25:20But other than that, you still get some good shots obviously
- 25:22after and before, but that is like the the best moment to
- 25:27actually get. And then we'll transition into
- 25:29night shots, which I absolutely I love night shots.
- 25:34But at the same time, though, let's you have to make sure
- 25:37where are the lights coming from.
- 25:39So what I'm trying to say is is like go to places has like up
- 25:43lighting or even like a lamp like on Main Street, like
- 25:47definitely utilize lights that are like even from the signs,
- 25:52like especially like Tron. That is a beautiful place that
- 25:55you can shoot some stuff. At and a quick tip for that
- 25:58'cause I know most people in general use their phones when
- 26:01they are they are not professional cameras.
- 26:05When you were doing night shots for iPhone or for Galaxies or
- 26:11anything else, you can control the auto setting of the
- 26:15exposure. Click that down because if it's
- 26:18regular auto, it will what is it called?
- 26:21Like overexpose the pretty lights that you're seeing.
- 26:25So I always for night shots, I push it down and you get the
- 26:28actual authentic like here's the glowing blue or you know, the
- 26:32prettiest park in my opinion is Hollywood studios at night time.
- 26:35It is just the vibe, but you can't get the pretty neon signs
- 26:39when you're exposure is on auto. So just click that little.
- 26:43What is it for you A? Little a sun or a light bulb
- 26:46and. Say yes.
- 26:47Tell us. Tell us how to do that.
- 26:50Yeah, on on iPhones technically if you click like for example,
- 26:54when you click and you see that like orange box.
- 26:56So you're you're looking at whatever you want to photograph
- 26:59and you're gonna tap your screen a.
- 27:01Little OK when you see that little square box pop up on the
- 27:04right hand side of that box, there should be like a dial.
- 27:07If you actually dial it down, it will expose down the the actual
- 27:12exposure of what you're shooting.
- 27:15Yes, and mine's opposite. Mine's a little circle that you
- 27:17drag left or right. That's why I was like, I don't
- 27:19know, for iPhone you just click. The same thing, back the screen
- 27:22and look for your little focus thing and look.
- 27:24And then I'll have Tyler correct me, but for Galaxy phones, you
- 27:30can lock it at that exposure. So like during fireworks shows
- 27:33or something like that, you can lock it.
- 27:35Tyler's going to tell me right now.
- 27:37This is for you. See that box right there?
- 27:39So you click whatever you want to look at.
- 27:41You see that sun, you bring that down and then it'll actually
- 27:46adjust. It properly.
- 27:47The exposure of whatever you need to focus on that will
- 27:51definitely help out for like night shots for whatever you're
- 27:54trying to do. And in theory, once you've set
- 27:57it, as long as you don't like close out of your camera, it
- 28:00should stay. So like if you're doing several
- 28:02photos in a row, just don't turn your screen off and just keep it
- 28:07open. So that way you you still have
- 28:09that setting. You can always go back in and
- 28:11redo it if you need to, but that'll save you a few extra
- 28:14seconds, especially if you're doing like fireworks like you
- 28:16were talking about. That's a big one.
- 28:19But also like what I'm also trying to say is with like
- 28:23finding actual natural lighting of like up lighting on a
- 28:25building or even like lamps if you're kind of outskirts of like
- 28:30because I'm going to use the magic Kingdom, for example, if
- 28:33you're like near more like to the teacups area that has
- 28:36tremendously a lot of low lighting, where if you actually
- 28:40don't have steady hands or any photos you try to take,
- 28:43especially when it's like dark, it is going to be so blurry.
- 28:47And because it's it's because it's, it's underexposed.
- 28:50So it's trying to, I mean, I'm going to get a little nerdy
- 28:52here, but like when you're taking a photo, like it's trying
- 28:56to auto correct the actual lighting that's happening in the
- 29:00area. So as it's taking a, when you're
- 29:04hitting the shutter release on your phone or even the camera,
- 29:07it's trying to figure out where the light source is.
- 29:10And sometimes we'll do what's called a long exposure where
- 29:13it's trying to collect what they, what it can, which
- 29:17therefore, if you're not holding your camera steady, it will make
- 29:21your actual photo blurry. And now some people use it as a
- 29:25creativity like like spin or whatever.
- 29:28You get a fun like like blur. But if you're wanting to do
- 29:32that, I will highly suggest you using what's called burst mode.
- 29:35I'd know that's on. I know that's on iPhone.
- 29:37I don't know what it's called an Android, but you guys have burst
- 29:41mode where you guys like make like I guess like back then it
- 29:44was called like boomerangs. I think so, yeah.
- 29:47But like, yeah, but you could do like a burst mode where you
- 29:50could like make a fun like little like video.
- 29:53But yeah, other than that, though, definitely looking for
- 29:56lights. Definitely Main St. leaning on
- 29:58railings, finding a window, whatever it is.
- 30:02I mean we'll go more into it, but like Hollywood studios
- 30:06vibes, great vibe like that is my.
- 30:10Go to and then also just if it is an option, obviously photo
- 30:16pass always has a flash yeah be mindful that your eyes might get
- 30:20the flash eyes of like it's really bright.
- 30:22But if that is an option for you, they have a work around
- 30:26where they have a direct flash to light you up.
- 30:28Yeah, so and. I mean like if we really want to
- 30:31give you one more tip before we move on to the next one, we love
- 30:34continuous lights, not flashlights or like not like
- 30:37flashing. So what we tend to do as well,
- 30:41even if we like professionally and non professionally, what
- 30:46we'll do is we'll do one of our cameras.
- 30:48I will like hold my phone and just put on the, the, the actual
- 30:54like flashlight on, hold it to whatever we're shooting or the
- 30:59person that we're shooting. And then so that we could take
- 31:01photos. Personally, a continuing light
- 31:03looks a little bit better than flash.
- 31:05That's my personal preference. I do know that people do like
- 31:08that flash look. I know it's kind of getting more
- 31:10trendy again of like more of that flash feel, but I just
- 31:14never been a fan of it. But it it definitely it's it's
- 31:17an opinion of like what you want to use.
- 31:19But other than that, they'll like.
- 31:21That is one thing that we have done in the past.
- 31:24Yeah, and this is one instance where you you want to put your
- 31:27face into the light, right? Like we were talking earlier
- 31:30about like not wanting to look directly into the sun when it's,
- 31:32you know, it's certain positions.
- 31:33But like at the night time, if you find a lamp or you find the
- 31:37light, you want to put your put your face directly towards the
- 31:40light. Now the other thing you may have
- 31:42to be aware of is if I'm selfie moding here and I've got it up
- 31:45here, I can't block the light from my face.
- 31:48I got a find. Be a little creative off to the
- 31:50side. Find the angle, right?
- 31:53We talked about that already. Find the angle so that you're
- 31:55not putting yourself in shadow after you already went through
- 31:58the trouble of finding the loops.
- 32:01Or you get one of those fun small ring lights that connects
- 32:04to your phone. That is also the easy.
- 32:07Way you love using you. Can get them anywhere for cheap
- 32:09so. And again, no one is going to
- 32:11care. No one is going to judge you.
- 32:13Just don't take your photos. Take your photos.
- 32:18Perfect. All right, Are we ready for #4
- 32:20on our list here? Absolutely.
- 32:23This one's, this one might be a little bit boring, but but but
- 32:26it's important though at the same time, like now we're going
- 32:29into the actual like technical side of things and that is the
- 32:33best settings to use in parks. Mainly I'm breaking down more on
- 32:40the phone or on the phone side if we want to talk about.
- 32:45If. We want to talk about cameras.
- 32:46Then obviously I could, I could give Jackie like a little like
- 32:50CHEAT SHEET and people could like go through like Canon and
- 32:53Sony's because that's what we use.
- 32:54But like realistically though, we're using this for like
- 32:57average Joe, just the normal families that are coming.
- 33:00Let's talk about the actual settings that you would like to
- 33:04use for. Real fast, like not professional
- 33:06but like point and shoot. You.
- 33:08Can even set it as auto. But those don't even have really
- 33:11good little lighting. So you need to have lighting.
- 33:13That's that's the crucial part. But yeah, OK, so real fast,
- 33:17obviously the best, the best part of phones is it has a
- 33:23really good auto technology, which has been really nice,
- 33:26especially now with like Apple, they're doing really well with
- 33:31just their auto aspect. So making sure to have the audio
- 33:34auto on. But if you want to kind of get a
- 33:37more involved with that, you really want to throw in it's
- 33:41called HDR, which is basically just high def revolution
- 33:45resolution. That's that's all that what HDR
- 33:48means. I think newer phones, they have
- 33:52different versions of that. But realistically though, if you
- 33:56want to kind of get it more in the professional aspect side
- 33:59instead of using auto, you will you can use HDR. Only thing is
- 34:03the caveat to that is you got to make sure it has good lighting.
- 34:07And so that's the difference is because like even if you do the
- 34:09whole like well, well Ty, I use portrait mode cool.
- 34:12That's that's cool if you use portrait mode, but once again,
- 34:16portrait mode you need to have better lighting.
- 34:18It does not work in low lighting and I know it.
- 34:20Literally yell at you. It'll.
- 34:21Say like. You lighting find better
- 34:23lighting so. It's like cool, you could use
- 34:26it, but you really need someone to hold a like a light or you
- 34:29under light and like it's like it's like that's cool.
- 34:32Like honestly, yeah, portrait mode is amazing and I I am like
- 34:35stunned for the photos that it could do, especially for like
- 34:39how it is and the capabilities. It's just like it's exactly what
- 34:41I do with my phone. And now I've personally upgraded
- 34:44where now it does it on on the the the video side.
- 34:47I'm just like, this is this is insane.
- 34:49And I'm getting like the same F stop as I would for my camera,
- 34:53like my, you know, my $3000 camera.
- 34:55I'm getting the same thing on my phone.
- 34:56I'm just like, this is this is wild.
- 34:58But anyways, definitely HDR if you want to do that, that's cool
- 35:04auto. But if you put on auto,
- 35:06obviously it helps balance the bright skies, the even the dark
- 35:09rides, even the shaded faces some.
- 35:11Kind of adds pop to you so you're not as flat.
- 35:15So but then the next tip on that of the settings is live photos
- 35:21or motion photo is on. Sarah is the queen bee of this.
- 35:27She absolutely loves having the live photo on.
- 35:32And basically if anybody doesn't know what that is, I'm sure
- 35:35everybody does. But if nobody knows what that
- 35:37means, that basically means is when you take a photo, it it
- 35:40like records like the, like the, like the three seconds of the
- 35:46setup. And what you could do though, is
- 35:49you could play back those 3 seconds and pick the frame that
- 35:54you want to use and save it as a photo.
- 35:57And so now not only you took a photo, but if you don't like it
- 36:01or maybe like you accidentally got your eyes blinked, you can
- 36:03literally go the next frame over and you can actually take that
- 36:09photo part. And so now you're you're
- 36:11basically getting double, double to work on that and.
- 36:14You can also save the cute little video that it makes and
- 36:17it's adorable, but you never miss a moment, especially with
- 36:21kids or if you're like you blink and you're like, Oh no, but I
- 36:25really like that spot. You go back, you're like, oh,
- 36:27never mind, I'm good. I am very like, please have your
- 36:31live emotion photos on because you especially if you don't like
- 36:35being in front of the camera and it's a moment where you're like,
- 36:37oh, let this let this be over with.
- 36:39I guarantee you in somewhere you're looking at the camera
- 36:41smiling like we got the front row.
- 36:44I will warn you though, if you're someone who struggles
- 36:46with space on your phone, my photos do take up a lot more
- 36:50space, so be sure to go back through and.
- 36:55That's very true but I live with it on so I deal with like clean
- 36:59up my phone but. But just be warned that they
- 37:02will take up extra space. So like, if you're someone on
- 37:05and you're on your trip, right? And you, you want to make sure
- 37:08you have enough space for all of the memories.
- 37:11Just be aware of that as you're taking your live photos.
- 37:14I agree. Leave it on.
- 37:16Yeah, just be prepare your space, not your storage for all
- 37:20eyes photos. I am very known to Ty and I will
- 37:25be on like the sky liner. We're like all right, time to
- 37:27back up all of our stuff. We can erase it all.
- 37:30So we have unlimited space to capture things.
- 37:33So yes, definitely make sure everything's backed up because
- 37:36it does take up room, but you'll never miss a moment, which is
- 37:39key. But then obviously the next one,
- 37:42young millennial self, like as who I am.
- 37:45Obviously it's we used to call boomerangs.
- 37:47But the burst modes. These are really fun to have fun
- 37:51little burst moments. One of her friends love doing
- 37:54like the cheering, like she loves like, like cheer like,
- 37:59yeah, but but a great moments for those are like the parades,
- 38:04fireworks, even the fireworks reaction of your kiddos or just
- 38:08your significant other or whoever.
- 38:09That's what you are. Just maybe yourself.
- 38:11Like it's absolutely amazing. And also ride photos.
- 38:15Those are really fun, especially when you're like maybe like on
- 38:17Tron doing the launch off or, or you're like me.
- 38:21Oh, you can't have the phone on there.
- 38:22I was like me on the flight of passage.
- 38:27That was morning. You remember that day?
- 38:29For those of you that don't know, I went to Animal Kingdom
- 38:34on my last solo trip with Sarah and Ty and took Ty on Flight of
- 38:37Passage for the first time and it was better than watching my
- 38:41kids on that ride that first time because he was just like
- 38:45every every everything that happened was like.
- 38:47Oh, oh, oh. Look at that.
- 38:49Oh my gosh, it was great. It was, it was like it was
- 38:53perfect. He is terrified of heights.
- 38:56And so we're both Jagger. Like, I'll just look down.
- 38:58Oh, I don't like that. I don't like that.
- 39:02Yeah, it was, It was good. But those moments though are
- 39:05amazing. It's a weird, the only way to
- 39:09describe a burst mode is it goes forward for like 2 or 3 seconds
- 39:13and it goes and then it like reverses back.
- 39:16So it just it's a fun little video like moments.
- 39:19It's not really like technically photos, but it it does.
- 39:23But you still save a frame and like a lot of people tend to do
- 39:27that. Another thing that like Sarah or
- 39:30like this, these are good moments for like, I guess
- 39:33movement photos because Sarah and I will use this a lot where
- 39:38like we'll like put it up on a tripod or a trash can or just on
- 39:42our book bag. And this will be a good moment
- 39:44where like I spin on on Main Street or, you know, or we do a
- 39:48little like, you know, dip in or dip out type of thing.
- 39:51Like it's really fun to have more of those like creative
- 39:53moments. But we will take the frames of a
- 39:56photo that we like and we'll, you know, save it.
- 39:59And so there are there is still technically photos, but at the
- 40:02same time though it does save more as a video, but it is a
- 40:06just a. More funzy, creative way of
- 40:08getting more of the movement style photos that you want to
- 40:13take. Yeah, I love that.
- 40:14I will just say though, be sure that if you're doing things on
- 40:18rides that you are kind and courteous to the people around
- 40:22you. Please do not use your flash
- 40:24where you shouldn't. You know all those good things
- 40:27that I know I lovely listeners here at Mom St. would already
- 40:30think of, but just a little reminder that you want to be
- 40:33courteous to everyone that is around you.
- 40:35And that includes things like fireworks too, right?
- 40:37Nobody wants the bright, a bright flash in their face when
- 40:41you're trying to take pictures of the fireworks.
- 40:43So just be aware of what your flash is doing.
- 40:46Maybe make sure that you know where that setting is because
- 40:50often times a lot of our phones are just on auto for the flash
- 40:54so just be aware. Yeah.
- 40:56I've never, I've never like my thing is, is I've never, I never
- 41:01understand why people. This is why I I don't know why
- 41:04This is why I like I'm so despise flash.
- 41:10I don't it's hard to say it in a like a nicer way, but like he
- 41:15gets really when somebody takes a video and they have their
- 41:18flash on, like you're reducing your quality of because it's
- 41:23dark and dim in a way. So it's like you're not able to
- 41:25see you the video or whatever trying to do especially.
- 41:27I don't know, I just it gets, I get so annoyed by it and like
- 41:32just like what are you doing when?
- 41:35People don't I. Know, but like when you're
- 41:37people behind me taking of a flash of video, I'm just like
- 41:41really like are you? Well, and especially because,
- 41:44and we're not going to get too much into, you know, editing and
- 41:47I know we're going to talk about that a little bit here in a
- 41:49moment, but there are so many just auto edit options on phones
- 41:55that will fix everything that you think you're trying to fix
- 41:58by using the flash. Yes, so like.
- 42:00It's just unnecessary and you're going to get, like you said, I
- 42:03was so much of A better quality to if you don't use Flash and
- 42:07then you go in and just do a couple little tiny edits, it's
- 42:10going to turn out way better for you.
- 42:12Yes. And which I mean which is a
- 42:13great transition. So the next converse or the next
- 42:16and final tip of of that is your post work on your photos.
- 42:22Obviously we're not telling you right now to go sign up for
- 42:25Adobe and do Photoshop. And like, we're not.
- 42:27We're not doing. I'm doing it.
- 42:29It'll be overwhelming, I promise you.
- 42:31Don't do it. It's more like I said, this is
- 42:35for average just anybody that has a phone, you could easily do
- 42:38this on your camera, on your even your camera app.
- 42:42Now it's, I mean, like, I mean, even Apple is not coming out
- 42:45where you're able to remove things, but we're going to,
- 42:47we're going to kind of go through some like just easy
- 42:50things to enhance your photo for a just better quality.
- 42:54Like photo. Especially number one is, is if
- 42:57you are because like I said, it's kind of like a full circle
- 43:01moment. The first tip was composition
- 43:04and framing. One of those things that I'm
- 43:06talking about with composition and framing is making sure you
- 43:08know what's around you for the surroundings.
- 43:10So if you are in more of the like, more like main interest of
- 43:20like for example, like Main Street where that's like a super
- 43:22hot spot because obviously that's like kind of the, the
- 43:26heart of MK where you know, if you're trying to get a castle
- 43:30shot or whatever, there's hundreds of people around you.
- 43:32There's so much things that are happening.
- 43:34Obviously finding a good spot where there's not many people is
- 43:37the best. At the same time though, which I
- 43:39didn't know this until like literally 2 years ago when the
- 43:42photo passed, people took photos.
- 43:44I thought they at least took about 5 seconds and removed
- 43:47people behind the people. No, they just keep it.
- 43:50So I guarantee you I'm in hundreds of people's photos
- 43:53because I walked past them because I thought they at least
- 43:56like a very simple basic edit of people taking out.
- 44:01I thought, I guess, I guess Disney, why are you cheap?
- 44:05Why are you cheap? OK, but also also, to play
- 44:08devil's advocate with that, do you know how many hundreds of
- 44:11thousands of photos are taken across Disney property every
- 44:15day? Like there's absolutely no way
- 44:17they can even mess with them at all.
- 44:20What he has thought was that that day of they would take a
- 44:27empty shot of the castle from those angles and then they just,
- 44:31you know, how they can add the little magic.
- 44:33He's like, they don't do that. I said no.
- 44:35Why do you think I always smack at you when you're, you know,
- 44:39walking directly behind people? I was like, you're tall.
- 44:42You will. Now I feel really bad and you
- 44:45will never happen ever again. And now I'm walking on the
- 44:47sidewalk and like not getting past, not getting through the
- 44:51foot of past. People, the fun part is, is now
- 44:54even your regular on your phone, you can, it's not always going
- 44:58to be the best. Don't be wrong.
- 45:00Look, it's not always going to be perfect, but you can remove
- 45:03people or objects from your background because sometimes,
- 45:07like Ty said or even Jackie said, like sometimes you can't
- 45:10control that. There's going to be thousands of
- 45:11people around you, but you can kind of circle them.
- 45:15It's very simple to remove them which I am guilty of.
- 45:20Even for photo pass photos I will download them and remove
- 45:23people because I want it to look like it's just me and the magic
- 45:27Kingdom or wherever I got. Very simple to do and you can
- 45:32always convert it back to the original photo.
- 45:34If you do not like the way it looks, you don't lose the
- 45:37original photo which is amazing. Another quick editing thing is
- 45:44you can also click just auto. Even if you take a photo in
- 45:47auto, you can edit in auto. So that can help enhance just
- 45:52how you're. It's not as flat looking, which
- 45:54is always nice, but you can also go through the brightness,
- 45:58adjust light balance, contrast. All of that can help just
- 46:03improve of standard phone photo to just a little bit extra,
- 46:09which I always recommend. But if you don't have the time
- 46:12or want, it's not necessary. Maybe if there's a few that you
- 46:16want to print for yourself for like a memory book or anything
- 46:19like that, then that's when I'm like, okay, go through and do a
- 46:22little bit of an edit. Somebody add this?
- 46:24Are there even free edit which? Things there is you.
- 46:30So I use the phone version of Lightroom.
- 46:34You can do a free version of that, which you can do presets.
- 46:37You can do all of that. It's easy to learn and it is
- 46:41free. I do the premium because I like
- 46:43to do a little extra on my photos obviously, but you don't
- 46:46have to do that. Tezra's another one, you can do
- 46:49a free version. They give you different options
- 46:52and you can have fun with it. You could do like the disposable
- 46:55camera look or VHS look. Again, there's a free version
- 47:00and then there is you could pay a little bit to access the whole
- 47:04app. What's another one that's on
- 47:06you're? Mainly use those I mean.
- 47:08Also you got to understand like. Canva has some free options but
- 47:11you can easily remove people or just enhance things.
- 47:18But in general, what they have updated for cameras, for your
- 47:23phone in camera raw editing, it is so much better than what we
- 47:28had when we were younger. So if you can't afford or want
- 47:31to download more on your phone regular what your camera your
- 47:36phone gives, you can do. To which I mean, like I'll speak
- 47:39on the app, the iPhone side because obviously I have an
- 47:42iPhone. I mean, that's the reason why
- 47:43we're kind of talking about the worlds is because Sarah has her
- 47:46Android, I have an iPhone. So especially with iPhones, like
- 47:51even with just the settings that you have like in your actual
- 47:54photo app works wonders too. They are just tremendously
- 48:00better than one I've experienced even because I took AI jumped
- 48:05ships from iPhone I think when it was iPhone 5 came out and
- 48:09then I had a Galaxy phone up until my job like 4 years ago.
- 48:14They're like you need an iPhone because they did a lot of like
- 48:16group stuff, but that's a whole different story.
- 48:18But then after that, though, I've been having iPhone and now
- 48:21I have the latest phone, latest iPhone and they it has so many
- 48:27different editing that I never even thought of that they would
- 48:30actually like actually have now. And so like even using the dials
- 48:34for a little more contrast and like just messing with the
- 48:37shadows even or the brightness of it and stuff like it's just
- 48:40just adding those little like key things, just basic editing
- 48:46of just some sort of color correction.
- 48:48Even that is just truly it will just help boost the photo even
- 48:52more. And another thing for this is my
- 48:56photo side of me talking, but people on like Etsy or on
- 49:02private Facebook groups sell pre presets, which they're not that
- 49:08expensive. It's like some of them are only
- 49:09like 5 bucks and then it's for yours forever after that.
- 49:13If you have Lightroom, it's just a one click and it can enhance.
- 49:17And there's some of them that they make it custom for the
- 49:19Disney parks of like, oh, it is like harsh photos.
- 49:24One click. It can help solve your problems.
- 49:27If that is something you're interested.
- 49:29And I do know a lot of people on, you can just like look it up
- 49:33on Google. They sell presets for really
- 49:35cheap that can help you take a regular standard photo and just
- 49:39enhance it. Yeah, absolutely.
- 49:41Yeah. If you want either of those
- 49:42apps, I'll make sure to include them in the show notes.
- 49:45So check that out if you're listening to us later on down
- 49:48the road. And the good thing is with all
- 49:50of those, like, even if you just want to mess around and like
- 49:53figure it out and play with it, you can always just undo it.
- 49:56You're not going to cause like permanent problems to your
- 49:59photos. There's always an undo option.
- 50:01So if you want to just like mess around and see what does what or
- 50:06those types of things, that's that's what I've done and just
- 50:09kind of figured out like what looks good and what doesn't.
- 50:12But mostly I just use the auto edit.
- 50:14Like if I am taking a photo and I'm like, oh, it looks like you
- 50:17said, Sarah, the way you described it was perfect.
- 50:19It just looks a little flat. I just hit that auto and it just
- 50:22like just just tweaks at the tiniest bit but it looks so much
- 50:25better. It looks how you see it when you
- 50:29do a little bit extra, you're like, oh, that's how I remember
- 50:31it. Not as flat the camera gives
- 50:33you. And then another thing which is
- 50:35nice is you can copy your settings and mass post them.
- 50:41If it's like an auto like for Lightroom, I can copy my
- 50:44settings, save my setting, drop it out all my photos, don't have
- 50:47to think about it, export and I'm done.
- 50:49It saves so much time. But yeah, auto settings on your
- 50:54basic on your phone can do wonders.
- 50:58And if you guys need help with settings or like want more on
- 51:01that just send me a message I can put you in contact with
- 51:04Sarah and Ty. They know what to tell you for
- 51:07what I have asked Ty. Hey, what should I set my camera
- 51:10at for the videos and stuff that I want to take?
- 51:13So like, literally, I know. And compliments on your live
- 51:16stream too. It's good this stone is always
- 51:21willing to help even if it's a quick like hey I am trying to
- 51:25remove this from the background and it's not working.
- 51:28I like, I understand the frustration, but I do it for a
- 51:32living so. Like, which is it's fun because
- 51:37for her, she's obviously the photography side.
- 51:39And I do, I mean, we do I actually 100% of my work, I do
- 51:42video only. But it's, I mean, it's, it's
- 51:45both of both worlds, right? So it definitely is like for
- 51:49even for me, like when I take a photo, like even for ourselves,
- 51:54like when we take photos at the parks and stuff, I immediately
- 51:57jump in and like, you know, crush a little bit more of the
- 51:59blacks. Because obviously when it's
- 52:02super sunny outside it you're, you're, you know, you're the
- 52:04colors of just even in your photos and stuff, it gets
- 52:08crushed by the sunlight. And so you just bring it back
- 52:10the color tones and stuff and just knowing the basics of that.
- 52:13I mean, which obviously we did go to school for that.
- 52:15So like we just in the back of our memory, we, we, we do that
- 52:18just second nature now. But realistically, like if your
- 52:22photo like, yeah, it's like auto is pretty good with it.
- 52:26But just make sure though like once again it goes back to
- 52:31lighting like it's better to do an auto like correction when the
- 52:36lighting is as best in that situation.
- 52:40If you if it's overly exposed or even underexposed, especially
- 52:44with the underexposed photos, if you click auto, it's going to
- 52:48boost the brightness up, which if you have more of of paler
- 52:54skin, it will make you look like a light bulb.
- 52:58So like, I just want to let you know, like it's just you got to
- 53:02be careful with the auto aspect of it.
- 53:05So like you may want to do that manually if you're in more of
- 53:08like an overexposed area. But if error, I'm sorry, when
- 53:11it's underexposed, you want to make sure you expose your
- 53:14properly manually because that can happen.
- 53:18And so just throw on that out. The biggest like no one told you
- 53:24this, but if the photo if you really like it and you cannot
- 53:27get the auto lighting setting looking good, the easiest trick
- 53:31is turn it black and white. It's gonna always look good.
- 53:33That is the easiest. I love that I'm gonna be real.
- 53:38Honest with you, if somebody is doesn't give you a photo in
- 53:41color it's and they like the photo, it's because they
- 53:44couldn't make it work so they turned it into black and white.
- 53:46Yep. That's something.
- 53:48But it's not a creative. Choice but right?
- 53:50There were some photos where I'm like OOP, I like this moment
- 53:53with, you know, with even my my niece and nephew.
- 53:56But I cannot. It's like the auto is just not
- 53:58working or I can't fix it. The colors are whale.
- 54:01Are the colors whale black and white?
- 54:02I'm like what a great memory that was Steve.
- 54:05So little little tip for. You, we do that all I love,
- 54:10Sadly. I mean, you really can't do that
- 54:11with a video, though. No, you're like, why is this
- 54:13video black and white? What are you seeing, dear?
- 54:15No, I don't know how it feels kind of messed up.
- 54:18Yeah. I wanted you to feel the the
- 54:21nostalgic feel like. An yeah, it's, it's film noir.
- 54:25It's it's very sophisticated. My art.
- 54:28Situation. I love this.
- 54:31Well, so I think that's kind of the end of our five tips 5 plus.
- 54:36I feel like we kind of expanded a lot of those, which is perfect
- 54:39give all the tips we can. But I want to jump to now
- 54:42talking about a few of our hidden or maybe just favorite
- 54:46photo spots in the parks. So I let's start at Epcot.
- 54:53One of the ones that I picked out on this list here is if you
- 54:57are in the International Gateway area, the entrance, literally
- 55:02right after you walk through those gates, if you are like
- 55:05looking to the right where the water comes through.
- 55:08I love that spot. I don't know what it is, but
- 55:11especially during Flower and Garden, they've got all the
- 55:13really bright colors there. I have taken so many videos.
- 55:17They're just like random B rollers.
- 55:19Also usually ducks there. So like Disney ducks that yeah,
- 55:23you're good to go with that. So that's one of my spots at
- 55:26Epcot that is kind of hidden. But again, this is just there
- 55:29are so many spots in the parks, it's hard to pick, but that's
- 55:31the one that that comes to mind when I think of Epcot for me.
- 55:35Yes, this is the hardest part for me when especially when it
- 55:39comes to Epcot because if you just like exit the main part
- 55:45like the outskirts of the Why am I blanking on word no on the
- 55:52World showcase? I could not think of that for
- 55:54like if you just like. Go.
- 55:56Into each area you're going to find a beautiful location.
- 56:00Like even if you want to just do I do, I'm so guilty of it.
- 56:04I just do architecture photos, like close up, so pretty.
- 56:07But I've seen families that walk in not even with folk, but like
- 56:11they just go to an empty corner and they're in like Rome and
- 56:14it's just you will always find a spot off of the main strip where
- 56:19you're walking past them. If you just jump in there,
- 56:22you're going to find a beautiful, beautiful location.
- 56:25And then another little tip is especially with like, you know,
- 56:31I read the little, the beauty, the ball, you know, just go on a
- 56:36different side of where the photo passes, like to the side
- 56:40of it. Cuz you can get a good angle
- 56:41anywhere if you want the iconic photo, but it's out of the way
- 56:45from everybody. Always a good shot.
- 56:47I every time I go to Epcot, I have a photo zoomed in of the
- 56:52beauty herself. She's in the change, but I'm
- 56:54like. So many, so many photos of
- 56:58Spaceship Earth on my phone for absolutely no reason other than
- 57:02I just, I take, I take them every single time, daytime and
- 57:05nighttime, every time I visit Epcot.
- 57:08Yes, it's just an automatic like look the beauty and it's just.
- 57:13Yeah, I. I mean for me, like, I mean you
- 57:15pick any country in Epcot and it's perfect.
- 57:18And like for us, like the last time we were there, we were just
- 57:21finding just some just nook and cranny like spots that there
- 57:24was, there was like 0 like literally like 0 to like little
- 57:27to no people at all in these areas.
- 57:30And it we were just getting just banger shot after banger shot at
- 57:34just these beautiful just shots. And and especially for architect
- 57:38there, like it just looks like you're there.
- 57:41I mean, I have like hundreds of photos in my phone just from
- 57:44like the things that we capture. But like, honestly, I'm kind of
- 57:48with you like the even the outskirts, but even taking up
- 57:52step further, like the side where you could go through the
- 57:58actual boardwalk. Like I know it's exactly not an
- 58:01Epcot, but it's tank, but I'm considering an Epcot.
- 58:04That area is like also great to do, but kind of a sneaky fun one
- 58:10is actually going on the sky liner and just taking taking it
- 58:14like a quick lap. Like obviously it's free to use,
- 58:17but like you get your own. You get your own like cart where
- 58:21I like we use that for like some fun like funsie just.
- 58:26Like. Like photos and stuff like that.
- 58:28Obviously, yeah, I'm not telling you to like hang off and do
- 58:30whatever, but like, but it's definitely though like it is a
- 58:34good spot where you you have just yourself where you're able
- 58:38to get some really cool photos like in there as well.
- 58:41But I mean, we, we do that all the time.
- 58:44Yeah, I think the sky liner is a fun one to also have in the
- 58:47background of your photos. And I have videos too.
- 58:49So like, I like the walkway that leads you back to where Remy is
- 58:53in France. But there's like a little
- 58:55seating area kind of right after you get to like where the
- 58:58building is. And I have I have this amazing
- 59:01photo of my daughter who she had on these just massive purple
- 59:06sparkly ears. And she's sitting at the table
- 59:08like this. And it's like her in the front
- 59:11and the sky liner in the back. And it's just, it's like, I love
- 59:14that photo so much, but I think the the sky liner in the
- 59:17background is, is a fun one too, if you're on that that side of
- 59:20the park. It also helps you in general,
- 59:24like it's, I understand if you have, again, we don't have
- 59:27children, so there's a different outlook of having kids and not
- 59:30having kids. But if you ever get to go where
- 59:33it's not overwhelming, you get to just look at the little
- 59:36details. Like when you're walking over
- 59:38the bridge there for to get into Paris, there's the little bike
- 59:43with like paintings on it. Like there's so many little
- 59:45details that Epcot does so beautifully that I like to like
- 59:49I've noticed more compared to you're just walking and you're
- 59:53like, oh, you know, here's the Eiffel Tower, here's this.
- 59:57So just like it helps you be creative and have fun.
- 1:00:03Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I agree.
- 1:00:05All right. Shall we move on to what I know
- 1:00:07is your favorite Park Hollywood Studios?
- 1:00:11Tell us where you like, because there's so many spots here.
- 1:00:14But give us, give us. A it's all the nuts.
- 1:00:17I mean, like, I mean, you're going to I'm very biased of
- 1:00:20these parks. Obviously one of my favorite is
- 1:00:22the Hollywood studios, but then at the same time, MK is another
- 1:00:25one. But first thing though,
- 1:00:26Hollywood studios, you get all the cool vibes of it all.
- 1:00:29I mean, once again, to be it could be completely frank, any
- 1:00:34corner, any angle if you're going to get great shots.
- 1:00:37But realistically though, like there's some really fun ones.
- 1:00:40You have the actual, I don't know what the actual Rd. is
- 1:00:45called, but I guess it's their Main Street version of it, But
- 1:00:48it's Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood Blvd.
- 1:00:50That's what it is. So basically where the Tower of
- 1:00:52Terror is? That's Sunset Blvd.
- 1:00:57Yeah, there it is, Hollywood. Remain on Sunset is the side.
- 1:01:00One, so once again, just a kind of a side note to everybody, we
- 1:01:03just moved down here to Florida and we just have our annual
- 1:01:05passes and we're just fairly newer to it.
- 1:01:08So we're very, we're getting more involved with the.
- 1:01:11Names are hard. They are hard.
- 1:01:14And they're not like the ones like Main Street, you know,
- 1:01:17right? But like the ones in Hollywood,
- 1:01:18studios are not as often used, so I will give you that.
- 1:01:25But other than that, definitely having that tire terrier.
- 1:01:30Obviously it's iconic and in actual studios around it's it's
- 1:01:34fun to get. Obviously I love Star Wars, so
- 1:01:38you definitely have some really fun moments with 1,000,000.
- 1:01:41Falcon obviously doesn't be right in the center of it.
- 1:01:43Normally I would tell people to go in the back end on the right
- 1:01:46hand side, but because they are doing so much construction now,
- 1:01:50I think they put a character meet up over there.
- 1:01:52Vodka is there now. And so it's kind of a no go over
- 1:01:55there now, but you go up the stairs in front of the Million
- 1:02:00Falcon, there's like a little seating on the left hand side.
- 1:02:03You get a really cool shot of the entirety of 1,000,000
- 1:02:07Falcon. At the same time, there's like
- 1:02:09no one normally there, which is also really good for for that
- 1:02:15that. Would be like near the entrance
- 1:02:17to. Oh gosh and the quick service
- 1:02:20name just totally escaped me. Doc eBay 7 absolutely right
- 1:02:25across the entrance from. There, I was going to trust you.
- 1:02:27You could have said anything there and I would have been
- 1:02:29like, Nope, I I, I messed up Sunset Blvd.
- 1:02:33I didn't even remotely try what that was called.
- 1:02:37So I was going to be like, Yep, that's what it is, Yeah.
- 1:02:40Yeah, I it took me a second to figure that one out.
- 1:02:42But yes, that's fun when you can get a different angle or
- 1:02:47different view of the same old thing that everyone takes a
- 1:02:50photo of, but a different look at it.
- 1:02:53You could also get, you know, yourself, your family, anybody
- 1:02:57against that railing and you could still see the Millennium
- 1:03:00Falcon in yourself. So, which is also a beautiful.
- 1:03:03Little. Yeah.
- 1:03:06Absolutely. Yeah, I love that.
- 1:03:09And I would I will say that one of my favorite things that they
- 1:03:11do and this is not like a unique one, but like the nighttime
- 1:03:14lightsaber photos that they do are amazing.
- 1:03:18And I will say, I don't think enough people know that there
- 1:03:22are photo pass people that have lightsabers that you can use.
- 1:03:26So if you're not someone who has splurge to buy one or you, you
- 1:03:30don't want to have your kiddo carrying theirs in the park or
- 1:03:32whatever it may be. There are specific photo pass
- 1:03:37people that are. They're typically across the
- 1:03:40way. They're either at the Millennium
- 1:03:41Falcon or they are down towards the Milk stand across from Ogas.
- 1:03:46There's like a little doorway that they like to do those into,
- 1:03:49but they have at least two different lightsabers that you
- 1:03:53can borrow for your photos. So hunt them out and just ask
- 1:03:57them again. You got it.
- 1:03:59You got to get out of your shell and ask.
- 1:04:00I know we talked about this earlier.
- 1:04:02It's not always the easiest thing to do, but you just got to
- 1:04:05ask them because they typically have them that you can use.
- 1:04:08And we did this with my daughter when she was when she was too
- 1:04:13short to ride Rise of the Resistance and my son and my
- 1:04:17husband were off riding and I opted out.
- 1:04:20I opted to stay with her and we walked through the marketplace.
- 1:04:23She bought a loaf cat stuffy and then went and had a light Saber
- 1:04:28photo shoot with her loaf cat. And it was like very cool. 10
- 1:04:32out of 10. Amazing.
- 1:04:34So even though it's not a hidden one, I think enough people, a
- 1:04:37lot of people don't know that they actually have light sabers
- 1:04:39that you can borrow. Which yes, that is a big thing
- 1:04:42because a lot of people think, oh, I need to have because
- 1:04:45usually you walk past and people are already holding the
- 1:04:48lightsabers. Right.
- 1:04:49Yeah, you don't have to have them to go have fun photos with
- 1:04:52lightsabers and and it. And it makes a good point that
- 1:04:55they do stop them at a certain time.
- 1:04:57It's not an all night thing. So you got to kind of once it
- 1:05:00hits dark, you got to start scoping out and you got to kind
- 1:05:03of hang tight until they come out and make sure that you jump
- 1:05:05in line because the lines get long and they don't do them all
- 1:05:08night. But I and I just think there's,
- 1:05:10you know, Hollywood, the studios is such a great park at night.
- 1:05:13But I think so many of the things that we've talked about
- 1:05:16with like the exposure and stuff are, is so crucial here because
- 1:05:20of the neon lights, because of everything that they've got
- 1:05:23going on that give it such a great nighttime vibe.
- 1:05:26You got you got to kind of be aware of what your settings look
- 1:05:29like before you jump into those photos.
- 1:05:32And another little tidbit, if you one, if you go during the
- 1:05:36summer when it's the busiest, most of the time, Fantasmic has
- 1:05:39two shows, right? The most of the time, people
- 1:05:43with younger kids or they've been there all day, try to go to
- 1:05:46the first show. If they cannot make it to the
- 1:05:48next show during that time, it's prime photo time.
- 1:05:52Toy Story at night or at sunset, Amazing.
- 1:05:56All the lights are lit up, obviously the main streets with
- 1:06:00all of the neon signs, Millennium like Star Wars,
- 1:06:04Galaxy Edge, all those. It is usually people are trying
- 1:06:08to get to the first show and get out of the park.
- 1:06:11Don't blame them. But if you can go run around and
- 1:06:14have some fun taking some photos, the Hollywood Studios is
- 1:06:18one of the best parks to take the nighttime photos because
- 1:06:22it's made to look like you're in Hollywood.
- 1:06:25So. Yeah, yes.
- 1:06:27And I will say they for sure Hollywood Studios and I know it,
- 1:06:30Epcot oftentimes along their main walkways will have lights
- 1:06:35that are meant to help illuminate like the sidewalks
- 1:06:38and stuff, but you can sometimes use those for your photos.
- 1:06:42So there are some I know that are like back from the Chinese
- 1:06:45Theater along Hollywood Blvd. that you can kind of, if you, if
- 1:06:50you, you know, structure your photo correctly, you can use the
- 1:06:54light from those lanterns that they already have that are like
- 1:06:58a little bit lower to the ground and you can get the good, some
- 1:07:02good shots from there too. They do that.
- 1:07:03I know for sure out out front of we were just talking about
- 1:07:06Epcot, but out front of Spaceship Earth.
- 1:07:08They have a lot of those lanterns to where they
- 1:07:10illuminate the planters and the sidewalks and stuff.
- 1:07:13But you can use them for your selfies.
- 1:07:15Nice. How's it?
- 1:07:17Look. Love it.
- 1:07:18All right, let's talk about animal Kingdom.
- 1:07:21One of these is mine because I love, I love animal Kingdom
- 1:07:27photos. I think there's a lot of fun
- 1:07:29little hidden places, but one of my favorite ones is actually if
- 1:07:33you want the tree of life, I highly suggest going around to
- 1:07:36the backside of the tree of life.
- 1:07:38So the main walkway that takes you kind of between where like
- 1:07:41the feathered friends and flight show is and the Harambe Market,
- 1:07:44Tammu Tammu area. If you know where that is kind
- 1:07:47of on the map, basically the backside of the tree of life.
- 1:07:50There are some really fun photo spots back there, whether it's
- 1:07:55for like aesthetic photos that you're taking or videos or
- 1:07:59things like that, or like family photos.
- 1:08:02There's often a photo pass photographer back on that side
- 1:08:05too, which is really convenient and helpful to have.
- 1:08:08But it's a little bit more removed of a photo of the tree
- 1:08:11of life. And there is no possible way for
- 1:08:14people to be in the background of your photo because you're
- 1:08:18taking it over the water and then the tree of life is right
- 1:08:22there. So if you want to get the Tree
- 1:08:25of Life photo without having people behind you, that is my
- 1:08:28suggestion for that one. Absolutely.
- 1:08:32And then the other one that I like that's a little bit more
- 1:08:34kind of scenic. It doesn't necessarily feel like
- 1:08:38theme park, but Animal Kingdom is kind of that way when it
- 1:08:41comes to photos is. And there is a great walkway
- 1:08:44between the Festival of The Lion King building and the backside
- 1:08:48of Pandora. It's like this boardwalky
- 1:08:50looking kind of walkway and there's a bunch of of like
- 1:08:53vegetation and and pretty plants and scenery and water right
- 1:08:57there. I like that place too to take
- 1:08:59for taking photos. So, and then pretty much
- 1:09:02anywhere in Pandora, especially if you are fortunate enough to
- 1:09:06visit Pandora during the winter when it gets light or sorry,
- 1:09:10when it the light goes away and it gets dark early enough so
- 1:09:13that you can catch some of the illuminated walkways and things
- 1:09:17in Pandora. That's always a good one.
- 1:09:20But again, you got to pay attention to those night time
- 1:09:23exposure settings because otherwise you will miss out on
- 1:09:26the magic that is Pandora at night.
- 1:09:29Yes. And then one of my favorite
- 1:09:31places, it's on the right next to the Harambe market where you
- 1:09:37can go eat, though not. Yeah, around the other.
- 1:09:41Yeah, it's the little Mickey Mouse and then it has the little
- 1:09:46bike. That's just a cute little photo
- 1:09:49place that I actually went there the first time to take a photo
- 1:09:53for my birthday and I was like, this is adorable.
- 1:09:56And it's like 3. There was like other people like
- 1:09:58waiting in line and like there's no line, but it's just like the
- 1:10:01patient of like it's against a wall.
- 1:10:03There's nobody going to be in your photo and it's just a cute
- 1:10:06little nod of. We really realized because like
- 1:10:09Animal Kingdom is one of those parks have, we rarely kind of go
- 1:10:13to unless there's like a reason to go there.
- 1:10:16And every single time we've gone there, we had a reason to go.
- 1:10:20And, and the one thing that I've noticed is there's a lot of like
- 1:10:24murals on the architect that are really fun to take photos of.
- 1:10:28So those are like those moments that are really fun to like
- 1:10:32really captivate that are just unique and different than just a
- 1:10:36typical like for your life and like, you know, just a little
- 1:10:39more IP spots like, you know, it's more like you could find
- 1:10:44those like little hidden gems for, you know, your photos and
- 1:10:48stuff. And that's what we did
- 1:10:49especially that's like especially the little Mickey
- 1:10:52with like there was like it was like a bike literally coming out
- 1:10:54of the like the wall. Yeah, yeah, and it was it was
- 1:10:56really cool. And it's just like, you know,
- 1:10:58something that you just don't really get to see, you know,
- 1:11:00anywhere else. And so that's what we we try to
- 1:11:02do definitely for please going and I'm looking Kingdom so.
- 1:11:07Yeah, Animal Kingdom definitely. In the photos, it doesn't give
- 1:11:10you the theme park vibe, right? Now, there are some places that.
- 1:11:13Do if you're over by expedition Everest, you can get the
- 1:11:16mountain with the, you know, the car coming out in the background
- 1:11:18and things like that. But so much of the architecture,
- 1:11:21you know, purposely is meant to feel like you're not in a theme
- 1:11:24park. So I think that's.
- 1:11:26Most of my photos and videos in Animal Kingdom is from the
- 1:11:30Safari. Like that's just like, I don't
- 1:11:32think about it, but I'm like, that's very hard to take like a
- 1:11:36selfie with family. Like I don't think about that.
- 1:11:39I'm taking photos with animals the entire time.
- 1:11:42So I was like, I don't know how to properly because you don't
- 1:11:45want, you cannot stand and you don't want to be a distraction
- 1:11:49to the animals on that ride. So if you want to ever take a
- 1:11:53photo, I like of like I went on this ride, when you exit, you
- 1:11:58can see the vehicles parked. Take a photo there like I've
- 1:12:01taken on the exit. I asked a cast member, I'm like,
- 1:12:04could I get a photo with like you're on the ramp?
- 1:12:07But they're like, yeah, go ahead because you're out of the way.
- 1:12:09You can be like, I just take a safari ride, but I would really
- 1:12:13not try to do any of anything like that on the ride because
- 1:12:17you don't want to distract the animals or the driver.
- 1:12:19Yeah, the the attractions currently at Animal Kingdom.
- 1:12:22Now, granted, there's a ton of construction going on over there
- 1:12:25and I'm so excited for Tropical Americas to open in a few years,
- 1:12:28but the the rides and the attractions at at Animal Kingdom
- 1:12:33are not great for photos. They're either really dark or
- 1:12:38moving a lot like, you know, the safari or like expedition versus
- 1:12:42a roller coaster. So, you know, you definitely
- 1:12:44need to kind of find some of those hidden spaces at Animal
- 1:12:48Kingdom. Absolutely.
- 1:12:50Yes. Perfect.
- 1:12:51All right. And then I'm rounding out our
- 1:12:53list here. Magic Kingdom.
- 1:12:54I feel like again, there are so many spots of Magic Kingdom.
- 1:13:00Well, well, I'm gonna kind of like breakdown once again,
- 1:13:02creative like spots because obviously you have the castle,
- 1:13:05you have, you know, your, your IPS areas and stuff.
- 1:13:08One of my favorite little tidbits is, I mean, I'm bringing
- 1:13:13up another platform, so I apologize, but like if you
- 1:13:15Google, like if you use Etsy and just look up Etsy, have you used
- 1:13:19Pinterest and look up family portraits in Disney?
- 1:13:22They can show you like, oh, you want a castle photo?
- 1:13:26You know, where those, oh, my gosh, the little statues that
- 1:13:32they kept from the 50th, they're further back.
- 1:13:34Take your photo there. You get the whole castle.
- 1:13:37You can kind of the people kind of blur in the in the greenery.
- 1:13:41And it's a beautiful location. Usually.
- 1:13:43Like I said, my first time ever going, I ran straight to the
- 1:13:46front, which it's fine, right? But you're angling upward
- 1:13:50instead of straight eye, which is more of a flattering angle.
- 1:13:54Yeah, and it's not as crowded or overwhelming because a lot of
- 1:13:57people run straightforward where the castle can be beautiful from
- 1:14:02any, any angle. Yeah.
- 1:14:05But the fun ones that we always do like in magic English to make
- 1:14:10something that's unique and different than anybody else's
- 1:14:13photos, which they might be also like everybody's taste as well.
- 1:14:16So this might be it depends on everybody's stays on what I'm
- 1:14:20about to say. But so we love to do like fun
- 1:14:23angles like on Main Street where we utilize like the windows
- 1:14:28storefronts of like certain spots where you're shooting more
- 1:14:32of like a like a 40 to 5° angle or like the profile of the
- 1:14:36person that you have with you or just whatever you're trying to
- 1:14:39shoot. We, we like to you, you utilize
- 1:14:42like the windows in the actual storefronts of like whatever it
- 1:14:46is. So you know, we, we do that.
- 1:14:50And then also there's even like shots that we've done.
- 1:14:53I would, I would love to be able to show everybody, but like I've
- 1:14:56even done like things where we've asked like the person
- 1:14:59who's holding the balloons to like hold them down a little
- 1:15:01bit. And I actually got a photo of
- 1:15:04Sarah, like with the balloons behind her of the surroundings.
- 1:15:07And you're like I said, you just have to ask.
- 1:15:09They're willing to do it. I didn't ask.
- 1:15:11I was like, hey, can we hold the balloons?
- 1:15:12I was like, hey, can you like bring them down a little bit?
- 1:15:14So that's what we could like kind.
- 1:15:16Of hold, they won't let you hold the whole, they still have to
- 1:15:18hold them, but they they are used to being asked that,
- 1:15:20especially the balloon holders are used to that, yeah.
- 1:15:23But but then also we've been done where where there's a
- 1:15:27really fun frames where we go inside the actual shops and it's
- 1:15:31the huge walls of like Mickey Mouse and and the stuff he said
- 1:15:35stuff. I was like, Hey, why don't you
- 1:15:36grab one and act like you're like looking at the wall and
- 1:15:40it's just like a fun frame where it's the entire frame of just
- 1:15:43her, but like surrounded with the Mickey's is her holding it.
- 1:15:47And that's a good like in the moment, like storytelling peace
- 1:15:51as opposed to like, hey, I'm holding a stuffy or whatever.
- 1:15:53And I'm like, obviously we didn't buy it because like it's
- 1:15:55we're in the store, but like it's a fun moment where it
- 1:15:59allows you to go back to like the moments or even for her,
- 1:16:03she's obsessed with Stitch. There was one that was like
- 1:16:05super gigantic in the world of Disney and Disney Springs.
- 1:16:09She's holding it and and it's just like, it's just fun just
- 1:16:13getting those moments like in the actual, you know, park as
- 1:16:17well, besides just the typical like castle.
- 1:16:20So, and obviously, like I said, I kind of mentioned before the
- 1:16:23left side, like where that little underpasses.
- 1:16:26It's kind of a nice little sticky spot where no one really
- 1:16:29is there to get a good angle of the castle.
- 1:16:32And then honestly one of my personal favorites is taking the
- 1:16:36ferry boat ride and going up on the second level.
- 1:16:40And when you're even if you're going or leaving, you get a fun
- 1:16:44like just like really nice, like long white shot of just like the
- 1:16:49castle and just like the entirety of that area.
- 1:16:52And it still looks really good so.
- 1:16:54Yeah. And then another good one, which
- 1:16:56I didn't know about, was when the Cinderella, the Wishing
- 1:17:01Well. That's such a beautiful spot.
- 1:17:04If you're far enough away, you have a beautiful the you know,
- 1:17:08you can get from the wishing well or you can get the castle
- 1:17:11and you're there's nobody in the background.
- 1:17:14It was I was like, oh, I never knew this was here or that
- 1:17:16pathway. We ran into a photo pass and I'm
- 1:17:20like why have I never been this? Way, yeah, both of those side
- 1:17:24views of the castle I think are phenomenal.
- 1:17:26So whether you're going towards the Tomorrowland side or you're
- 1:17:29going towards like Liberty Square, both of those pathways
- 1:17:33have great views of the castle for sure.
- 1:17:36Yeah, yeah, I would agree with that.
- 1:17:38Those are those are some of my favorites when it comes to the
- 1:17:41castle. I think it's fun to get a
- 1:17:43different perspective on those and different view on those.
- 1:17:48You know, there's a lot of places, especially at Magic
- 1:17:51Kingdom that people just tend to take those photos of, right.
- 1:17:55We're talking about the castle. But again, it's it's that moving
- 1:17:58slightly off to the side or slightly back a little bit to
- 1:18:01give it a little bit different. Like I like if you're going to
- 1:18:04be up close to the castle, I like like even if the little
- 1:18:08walkways that take you directly underneath the castle are not
- 1:18:11open. They usually have a rope, but
- 1:18:13it's usually up a few steps. If you go up those few steps and
- 1:18:17get it kind of at an angle. I've got a great family photo of
- 1:18:20us on the left hand side and the rope is up because they had it
- 1:18:24closed off for the show that they were doing.
- 1:18:25But we went up against the rope and we're able to get kind of
- 1:18:29that side view and you basically remove all of the people out of
- 1:18:33behind you that because they're all down below you in that
- 1:18:36little courtyard instead of in the background of your photo.
- 1:18:41Yes and then another just fun photos is at the rides right?
- 1:18:50Like the iconic outside of Peter Pan.
- 1:18:53Such a cute backdrop Dumbo ride going so fun.
- 1:18:58They also have a photo op where it's the ride car planted.
- 1:19:02I'm pretty sure they have a teacup one in Disney World
- 1:19:05right? Or is that Disneyland?
- 1:19:07Disneyland has the teacup outside.
- 1:19:09Yeah, but we do. We do have an elephant outside
- 1:19:11of Dumbo. Yes, the elephant outside of
- 1:19:14Dumbo, because I remember taking my they were too scared to ride
- 1:19:17the ride, but they wanted a photo.
- 1:19:19So we put them in that. And it's such a cute moment.
- 1:19:21So like they have so many. You don't have to just get the
- 1:19:24castle to have moments of this is their first ride back up.
- 1:19:28You're in line. Or, you know, take a photo of it
- 1:19:31because that's such a, it's such a good moment.
- 1:19:34Yeah, one, when you exit Haunted Mansion 2, there's usually a
- 1:19:38photo pass photographer right there that will take great
- 1:19:41photos because you are close to the mansion, but they get the
- 1:19:44good angle to get it kind of to where you can see the whole
- 1:19:47mansion behind you. And they also have usually like
- 1:19:49the hitchhiking ghost little magic shot that you can do over
- 1:19:52there, which is one of my favorites.
- 1:19:53So yeah, absolutely. And I think yes, but and.
- 1:19:58Go ahead, Sarah, Go ahead. I was going to say again, you
- 1:20:03can always ask a photo pass person to take a photo on your
- 1:20:06phone. They have truly the best angles
- 1:20:10from all point of views because that's where they're supposed to
- 1:20:13be. For you to get a photo pass
- 1:20:14photo, wait in line, they'll have to take it on their camera.
- 1:20:19But you can also ask them be like, hey, can you get a photo
- 1:20:21of us on the phone? I know it's asking, but like,
- 1:20:24you're going to get a good photo.
- 1:20:27Yeah, because they know what they're, again, we talked about
- 1:20:29the framing like they know what they're supposed to be framing.
- 1:20:31They know what they're, you know, they've been trained.
- 1:20:34That's why they're there. So they they can help you at
- 1:20:37least get the basic level done and then you can go take it and
- 1:20:40edit it. Like Sarah was saying, even if
- 1:20:41you whether you buy the photo pass one or they have it on on
- 1:20:45your device, you can can jump in and edit that.
- 1:20:47Definitely perfect. Well, I think that kind of wraps
- 1:20:51up now. That was not a comprehensive
- 1:20:53list of all of the photo spots, obviously, but those are just
- 1:20:56some highlights that you might want to visit whenever you go to
- 1:20:59the parks. I'd be the four or five hours
- 1:21:02podcast parking down every visual area and.
- 1:21:06It changes all the time, right? You you find Photo Pass
- 1:21:09photographer, Sometimes they're there, sometimes they're here,
- 1:21:11which is great. Like it's so fun.
- 1:21:13And I will also kind of while we're talking about that mention
- 1:21:16like if you see a photo pass photographer, take a look at
- 1:21:18what they're what they're taking a photo of because they will
- 1:21:22move. Yeah, later in the day.
- 1:21:24But they move, well, this is crazy.
- 1:21:26They move where the lighting is. Yes, that's, that's exactly what
- 1:21:30they're doing. It's mainstream.
- 1:21:33Like, yeah, but like I could tell though, like in certain
- 1:21:36spots where they're like changing directions, especially
- 1:21:40in Hollywood studios, there's a lot of like moments where they
- 1:21:43do move like differently. And I'm just like, you're
- 1:21:47literally following the light. So it's, it's a crazy concept,
- 1:21:50but like definitely follow where the light is, you know, so.
- 1:21:54Yeah, And you never know what you might have like missed as a
- 1:21:56good angle. Like, I feel like there was that
- 1:21:59night where all of us were hanging out at Magic Kingdom and
- 1:22:01we had ridden Little Mermaid and we're coming back around towards
- 1:22:04the carousel. And we ran into the photo past
- 1:22:06photographer that was outside of Be Our Guest, but was getting it
- 1:22:10so that the beast castle was in the background.
- 1:22:12And we got super cute photos over there.
- 1:22:14And I would have never stopped to think about that being a
- 1:22:17really great photo op, but it was a really fun one.
- 1:22:21Yes and again, if the line isn't even long, just jump in like
- 1:22:26it's so fun it that's why he said we we were just walking.
- 1:22:30We're like, oh, we'll take a photo and it they.
- 1:22:33Not to be such cute photos. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:22:35Yeah, exactly. I love it.

- 1:24:24years. I'm kind of doing a fresh

- 1:24:27through that journey, that's cool.
- 1:24:28If not, totally understand. But like that, that's not ever
- 1:24:32was a cup of tea, but it's definitely going to be really
- 1:24:34cool. Like YouTube series I'm going to
- 1:24:37be creating on just me restarting becoming a film maker
- 1:24:41again. So.

- 1:25:02great place to connect with us as well.
- 1:25:04You can find sneak peeks of what's to come over there as
- 1:25:07well as just some chit chat on there as well.
