- 1:07redbubble.com. And with that, let's get into
- 1:11the movie review. Or should I say movies review?
- 1:17My goodness. As you no don't have seen before
- 1:24clicking on this episode from the thumbnail, we watched both
- 1:2880s Ewok movies. How do you guys want to do this?
- 1:32Do you want to talk about them separately and then together?
- 1:36I think it makes the most sense to start with the first one, go
- 1:39into the second one, because then we're following the plot.
- 1:42Then we can talk about the two of them contrasted.
- 1:45Yeah. OK, chance.
- 1:47Let's start with 1984's Caravan of Courage.
- 1:51What was this movie about? A.
- 1:54Nuclear family of four crash land.
- 1:56On the planet of Endor family made-up of and These are real
- 2:02names, by the way, German, Katarina, Mace and Sindal.
- 2:07I never picked up on German, that's awesome.
- 2:09Yeah, German, it's really good. Too bad you only hear him talk 3
- 2:12times. Yeah.
- 2:14Mason Sindal The children get separated from their parents,
- 2:17their parents are captured and then it's up to the kids with
- 2:20their friends the Ewoks, to go and save their parents on a
- 2:25caravan of courage. What's an Ewok?
- 2:28I'm not explaining that an. Ugly looking.
- 2:30Teddy bear What's a caravan? An earth horse that has a cool
- 2:35Fort on it. What's a German?
- 2:37Hermit the frogs weird cousin. Yeah, so I'm sure we're speaking
- 2:43to our audience here, but in the third Star Wars movie,
- 2:48retroactively, Episode 6, George Lucas introduced a war on a
- 2:53forest planet with the Empire, which was supposed to be the
- 2:57Wookies initially. But then what if toy sales?
- 3:02But then George Lucas found out that the only way to make money
- 3:05in Star Wars is to have a little creature.
- 3:08Yeah, they swapped for the Ewoks, which are little 3 foot
- 3:14bears. Teddy bear versions of Wookies.
- 3:16Yeah. And of course, they were the hot
- 3:20merchandising item. In the years following Return of
- 3:25the Jedi, we would see two made for TV movies based on the Ewoks
- 3:31in 1984 and 1985. Did George Lucas write these?
- 3:35It says in the credits that he wrote.
- 3:37You want to tell me that he wrote these?
- 3:40Well, I think they probably gave him more credit in the credits
- 3:43so that it would give more credence to them, but I don't
- 3:45know how handsome he actually was.
- 3:48Well, let's not pretend like George Lucas is a superhero
- 3:52writing. I don't think he knows.
- 3:54Why Star Wars is popular? He's been quoted on saying that
- 3:57Star Wars is a movie for little boys and no one else.
- 4:00Yeah, that's kind of what was happening here, although maybe
- 4:04also baiting the little girl audience with Cyndal being
- 4:07really cute. Yeah.
- 4:09This movie is not within the Star Wars lore in any world.
- 4:13Like somebody watched 20 seconds of Star Wars and they're like,
- 4:17OK, let's make a movie of this. And that's what I feel like this
- 4:20is this. Feels like every fantasy movie
- 4:27ever. They've got this band of heroes
- 4:29and they're walking along and then and there's.
- 4:32Lots of magic. Gifted magical items and there's
- 4:36all these traps along the way that Mace falls for every single
- 4:40one of them and there's an. Earth, horse.
- 4:43There's always an Earth. Yeah, there are ferrets.
- 4:45There's crows. I was.
- 4:48Horse so mad about that. That's just a llama, and the
- 4:51next, that's just a horse. That's a rabbit.
- 4:54I kept getting more and more mad.
- 4:57Why have Jim Henson Company work on your movie if they're not
- 5:00going to do a single thing? They made.
- 5:03The Ewoks, Well, did they even? Because those are costumes.
- 5:07They're hyperstatic. Nothing moves on those things
- 5:11and it's so creepy. Did Jim Henson Company make this
- 5:14movie? Well, someone's looking that up.
- 5:16I did want to say that the Ewok costumes in this movie, I don't
- 5:21know how similar they are to turn to the Jedi costumes.
- 5:25For some reason, because of the production value, it felt like
- 5:28Halloween costumes. Funny you should say that
- 5:32because in grade four or five I was dressing up for Halloween
- 5:38and we went to the store and they had a Wicket mask.
- 5:42It was like real fur and everything.
- 5:44Then we bought a big fur trench coat and I cut that up and and
- 5:52sewed it into a full body Ewok costume.
- 5:57I tell you, John, its quality was in line with the costumes of
- 6:02this movie. Yeah, I'm not surprised.
- 6:06Whoa, that wasn't a diss. That was me talking about how
- 6:09good my sewing skills are. I don't think that this movie
- 6:13was made by Jim Henson. I don't see the Jim Henson
- 6:16flair. This was a made for TV movie so
- 6:20budgets will have to be considered.
- 6:23I always assumed that they recycled some of the costumes
- 6:27from Return of the Jedi, but who's to say?
- 6:30It just didn't seem to fit. They just felt a lot looser on
- 6:34the actors and actresses bodies. I think also it's just hard.
- 6:39They're marble eyes that just don't move.
- 6:41They're bad. OK, so now we're getting into
- 6:43other stuff. What I was going to say about
- 6:46the costumes is I think it's the hardest with the ones that have
- 6:50the shortest fur. One of Wicked's brothers has
- 6:53really short fur, so it looks like a carpet.
- 6:57Then it looks really frumpy. It looks like it's a coat or
- 7:02something that he's wearing and not his furry body.
- 7:05But your statement, John, notoriously, George Lucas can't
- 7:11leave these movies alone. So for people.
- 7:15Who? Yes, for people who do not know,
- 7:18these movies came out in the 70s and 80s.
- 7:21And then in the 90s, once computer graphics were a thing,
- 7:26George Lucas went back and he edited these movies with
- 7:31computer graphics and the fanboys will say couldn't create
- 7:36his vision when it was first created.
- 7:39So now that technology has caught up, now it more closely
- 7:43resembles what he had imagined all those years ago.
- 7:47Well that's true. The downside of it is it didn't
- 7:51happen just once. He keeps going back to the table
- 7:54and re editing it over and over again.
- 7:57So one of the edits he made was he gave that he walks eyelids
- 8:02and that's awful. Does it look bad?
- 8:06I mean, they already look bad, so it's hard to say what's the
- 8:11lesser of two evils. They already stare through your
- 8:15soul. And I made the point of
- 8:18vocalizing that they don't really have working mouths
- 8:21either. They won't have working tongues.
- 8:23So their tongues move inside their mouths, but their mouths
- 8:28always being open, they're like. Slack jaws?
- 8:31Yeah. It's so bad, it's terrible.
- 8:33Did anyone else have a hard time distinct machine?
- 8:36He walks from each other, just the lady one, the magical one,
- 8:40not all the rest kind of look at the same.
- 8:42It was Wicket and the other ones.
- 8:43So Wicket is of course played by Warwick Davis in the 80s.
- 8:48He was the most famous little person.
- 8:51He would obviously be in this movie.
- 8:54He'd be in movies like Willow. He is an integral part of the
- 8:59Star Wars universe. I always thought about how
- 9:03interesting that was that George Lucas made so much work specific
- 9:07to little people. Right?
- 9:08Like R2D2 in the old movies, there was a little person in
- 9:12that robot driving it. The jaw was in the first Star
- 9:17Wars movie. We're all, of course, little
- 9:19people. Ewoks, I'm not sure.
- 9:22You just seem to have a fascination with little
- 9:25creatures. But I was able to differentiate
- 9:29all of the Ewoks. But.
- 9:31Most of them didn't add any value or anything.
- 9:33Yeah, most of them. What?
- 9:35The one guy got earmuffs as his magical item and one guy.
- 9:39Got to turn a rock into a lizard.
- 9:41He. Didn't even do that.
- 9:42That was Mace's gift. Oh, right.
- 9:44OK. No Mace on the other hand, that
- 9:47guy is unforgettable. He is the world absolute worst.
- 9:53To clarify, Mace is the older human brother.
- 9:56He's main character in the movie.
- 9:58So they get given magical artifacts and then he throws his
- 10:03rock away. Instantly.
- 10:04He sees all the magical artifacts and he learns A
- 10:07valuable lesson and then he gets his rock back and he's like
- 10:10stupid rock and he tries to throw it away again.
- 10:13I don't understand. And don't even know what to say
- 10:16about Mace. It's like the only way they
- 10:19could think of to introduce a dangerous object.
- 10:23Was to have. Touch it, touch it, he always.
- 10:27Touches it with his hands. Too, and then too about that
- 10:30actor. If I was his age in 1984, Star
- 10:35Wars is the most amazing thing on earth.
- 10:39I get a shot to be in Star Wars. I see my costume.
- 10:44He looks like he's right out of Star Wars.
- 10:46He's a really cool Star Wars aesthetic.
- 10:50I would be hyped. And then you find out that
- 10:53you're written as the single worst character ever.
- 10:57And. To be fair, he had no way of
- 11:00knowing that that lake wouldn't try to drown.
- 11:02Him I would stop touching things, period.
- 11:05So there's this lake that when you touch it, it teleports you
- 11:09under the lake and you can't escape.
- 11:11Unless you have a stick. Unless.
- 11:14Got a stick? What?
- 11:17A bad movie? Why is there magic?
- 11:20What do you mean? Why is there magic?
- 11:22Why is there magic in this movie?
- 11:24I got upset about that and then dad was like, Oh well, Star Wars
- 11:28has witches in it. That's clearly not the same
- 11:31thing. This.
- 11:32They just do whatever they want whenever they want.
- 11:35Yeah, so we know all kinds of things about the Star Wars
- 11:39universe. We know that the Force is
- 11:41interpreted differently, species to species, planet to planet.
- 11:47So this sect of Force users have become the Jedi.
- 11:52Do you think that force users can teleport people under lakes
- 11:56and turn rocks into iguanas? That iguana was just in the rock
- 12:00for a long time. Do you think that that's.
- 12:02Something that the force can do. You don't know everything the
- 12:05Force can do. They're just Disney.
- 12:09They're still figuring it out. Yeah.
- 12:11This movie is terrible, don't get me wrong, but the Ewoks
- 12:14practicing their forms of, for lack of a better term,
- 12:18witchcraft I think was always something that was accepted
- 12:24because they are from this primitive species that when they
- 12:29CC-3PO they worship him as a God.
- 12:32They see him levitate due to the Force, but they start
- 12:36worshipping him and there's always this undertone, even in
- 12:40Return of the Jedi, that they believe in the supernatural.
- 12:44To have items that are part of that, to have a wizard in the
- 12:49group, does make sense. Their delivery on magic is
- 12:52absolutely terrible and dumb, but that is just tying it back
- 12:56to the fantasy roots. This is just Lord of the Rings.
- 13:00They're on their way trying to gather together a Bard and a
- 13:06wizard and a warrior barbarian. They're trying to get all these
- 13:10different people together on their party to go fight a giant.
- 13:14This is AD and D campaign. It's just really poorly written
- 13:18and most of them don't speak English, which makes it.
- 13:23Oh my goodness. Yeah, my favorite part of this
- 13:25movie is when the narrator shows up and goes wicked and his
- 13:29brothers ventured into the forest to look for more.
- 13:33I forgot this movie had a narrator instead of a crawl.
- 13:37It's so upset, how annoying. That is you.
- 13:40Could understand a scene where the Ewoks don't talk and you'd
- 13:43be like OK that was good. And then the narrator would show
- 13:47be like, this is what you just watched happen.
- 13:49I think this was maybe the hardest part about this movie,
- 13:54watching these two human children try to explain to Ewok.
- 13:58And that's not. How you would explain anything?
- 14:01You can't just say Starship 100 times and hope they understand
- 14:05what that means. They've never seen a Starship.
- 14:08Food. Eat, eat.
- 14:11Eat, eat, eat. You are going to.
- 14:13Point at your mouth. You're just going to say the
- 14:15word eat, eat. You're just going to say the
- 14:18word eat 800 times. And I hope they understand
- 14:22that's not a Starship. That's a horse.
- 14:24We watch the kids trying to communicate to the Ewoks and the
- 14:28Ewoks to the kids. As the viewer, we already know
- 14:32what both sides are trying to communicate, so it's just a
- 14:35frustrating watching two people understand each other.
- 14:39It is a snore fest. It's just painful.
- 14:44It's like infuriating though. Not only is it boring, finish
- 14:48the scene. It's not that hard.
- 14:50Every scene takes five times longer because we have to wait
- 14:54for the characters to figure it out.
- 14:56Yeah, it's so frustrating. Well, if they had a narrator.
- 14:59Oh my gosh. Well, to be fair to this movie,
- 15:0280% of the way in, when nothing has happened for most of it and
- 15:05suddenly everything starts happening, the narrator's gone.
- 15:08I'm watching right now show called Tchaikovsky's Primal.
- 15:12Very good but there is no English in that show.
- 15:16It's about a caveman and a dinosaur as they both lose their
- 15:19families and they try to survive because there's no spoken word.
- 15:23You've 2 main characters who literally can't communicate with
- 15:25each other and yet there's still so much they communicate.
- 15:30You watch them fight over things and not understand why the other
- 15:33person's angry and it feels so painful when they can't
- 15:37understand each other. In comparison, this movie has
- 15:41literally none of those good parts.
- 15:44You don't empathize with them when they can't understand each
- 15:46other, you're just mad at them. It's just the.
- 15:49Worst, I made this note right after watching it.
- 15:52I said I don't care how well rested someone is, what time of
- 15:56day they watch this movie. Sandman will come for all who
- 16:00watch. Is that a threat?
- 16:03The other character that we should talk about, though, is
- 16:05Syndal. Syndal is played by Aubrey
- 16:09Miller, and she was tiny. She was four years old when this
- 16:14movie came out. This movie is not good anyway
- 16:18you slice it. I would have a hard time coming
- 16:20up with a good thing about it. I've won the kick.
- 16:23But she's very cute and the fact that they got her to do as much
- 16:29as she did at her age is very impressive.
- 16:33She's a pro in the second movie that we watched.
- 16:37I would say she's actually a pretty good actress for being
- 16:40four or five. But you can see the stunt double
- 16:43S. But there are very obviously
- 16:45stunt double S That's true. That's true.
- 16:49Get so tall. Speaking of stunt double S or
- 16:53dangers. Wait, I'm going to say the thing
- 16:56that's good about this movie, OK?
- 16:58The big monster thingy and the big stares.
- 17:01Just the fact that it's a big thing with little people.
- 17:04The perspective shots are the best.
- 17:05Yeah, we talked about this in a previous episode.
- 17:09Probably. Honey, We Shrunk ourselves.
- 17:11Being small is a fascination that we, as audience members
- 17:17really buy into. There's a lot more interesting
- 17:20things when you look at things from a different perspective,
- 17:24and them crawling up a giant staircase is very cool.
- 17:29I will say the one problem I have with that is I'm a big fan
- 17:31of world's building and so like, oh, I wonder if they're going to
- 17:34get into his lair and see how's his home reconcile with what
- 17:39alien species he is. And they walk in.
- 17:41I'm like, is that a big ass dining table?
- 17:43It is. It's just a really big table.
- 17:46It's one of those movies that really took me out of the film
- 17:49to realize a big. Monster.
- 17:52So we still don't even know his motivation.
- 17:55He didn't eat them, he didn't kill them, He captured them.
- 17:59And they were way too small to eat.
- 18:01I was thinking about that. They'd be like. 1/4 of a chicken
- 18:04nugget and he clearly had a motivation for why he did what
- 18:09he did, but none of it's ever explained.
- 18:12I'll tell you the only important thing about that giant.
- 18:15Is that he gets thrown down a pit.
- 18:18Is that he is defeated the same way every threat is defeated in
- 18:23this movie, and that's thrown off a Cliff.
- 18:27They're climbing over this Canyon and there's spiders.
- 18:30Oh, no. And then they knock a spider
- 18:33down and you just get to watch it slowly fall down a pit
- 18:37chance. You know this, It's that one
- 18:39Kirby right back at you. Meme of Kirby falling down a
- 18:42pit. Oh.
- 18:43I know what you're talking about that.
- 18:44Meme happens four times in this movie.
- 18:47You just watch this. Stupid spider fall down a bit.
- 18:50Twice, John, you were saying that this movie gave you a fear
- 18:54of spiders. When you were little, I think it
- 18:55should have given you a fear of chasm.
- 18:58Did you consider maybe just throwing them off a Cliff?
- 19:02I had it that seems to solve those problems.
- 19:06The giant is a real threat. You know this because they have
- 19:09to drop them off 2 cliffs. They have to knock you off a
- 19:13Cliff, the Whites. The Giants.
- 19:15The species is called Gorax. I was reading some trivia and I
- 19:19guess that's why Ewoks built their villages so high in the
- 19:23trees and have traps and catapults.
- 19:25Which is so good. Why don't you put that in your
- 19:28movie anywhere? Why do the only Ewoks in these
- 19:32movies live on the ground? So that ties together then?
- 19:36Both of these movies take place before Return of the Jedi.
- 19:40Which doesn't make sense because Wicket can speak English.
- 19:43Well, let's get into that list. It does make sense that they
- 19:47started on the ground, got attacked by giants, They got it,
- 19:51didn't know about the giants. We don't know that.
- 19:54They talk about the giant. No, no, we can't speak their
- 19:57language. I'm done, actually.
- 19:59So they live on the ground, get attacked by a giant.
- 20:03Another threat comes in which we'll talk.
- 20:06Vote in the second movie and then when they rebuild, they
- 20:10rebuild in the treetops for Return of the Jedi.
- 20:13All of that stuff does line up. As far as protecting themselves,
- 20:18you're a greater. Threat here dad, this is movie
- 20:21slop. They made this to make some
- 20:22money. There was number attempt put
- 20:24into world building. The only other thing I.
- 20:27Want to say about this movie is that Mace is arguably the
- 20:31protagonist and arguably, I guess George Lucas really liked
- 20:37that name because Mace appeared in the original draft of his
- 20:42Star Wars movies. It got shelved when he got rid
- 20:47of characters. He used it here, and then
- 20:50ultimately it would show up again in the prequels as Samuel
- 20:54Jackson's character. He wanted to name everything
- 20:56Mace, but I'm glad that he had revisionist history and
- 21:01pretended this Mace didn't exist with the later 1.
- 21:05Do we want to make a list of everything Mace touches from our
- 21:08memory? No.
- 21:09He touches a bird. He touches a leg.
- 21:12Tinkerbell. Yeah, he touches a fairy.
- 21:15He touches the spider web. His whole movie makes me so mad
- 21:19every time. How does he touch?
- 21:21I did like their horse, the normal P Yeah, and for riding.
- 21:26They had like a spherical Hut on the back of the horse.
- 21:29It would only work for very little people, but I did think
- 21:32that was me, John. Kane.
- 21:34I was thinking about this, why didn't the Ewok show up on a
- 21:38whole bunch of horses to fight in Return of the Jedi?
- 21:41Because they only had one. Movie is named after the fact
- 21:44that they have multiple. How?
- 21:46Many horses are in that caravan. It has to be more than one for
- 21:49it to be a caravan. I think I was confused because
- 21:52it was mentioned earlier how each of the characters were
- 21:55given this magical tool to go on their quest.
- 21:57Kind of like Galadriel gives the fellowship in the Lord of the
- 22:00Rings. The tools didn't always make
- 22:02sense. Syndal gets this candle that
- 22:05will absorb all the fairies, but it's not clear why.
- 22:08Tease to absorb all the fairies. Are you questioning why that one
- 22:12guy got earmuffs? Yeah.
- 22:14Several of them got different colored earmuffs.
- 22:17Yeah, one of them was. Courage.
- 22:19That's what Mace was really upset about.
- 22:22He was like, oh, everybody else is getting earmuffs, They got a
- 22:25rock. Christmas, actually.
- 22:27Can you open up your big present?
- 22:28It's just a bunch of clothes. I love that Mace's thing though
- 22:32was you get a rock which you will break.
- 22:35Yeah, they want to throw it on the ground, which he did
- 22:38multiple times. He.
- 22:39Did it perfectly. If he hadn't thrown it that many
- 22:41times, who knows if it would have broken when it was
- 22:44supposed. To when Mace is touching the
- 22:47water. That area that had that lake, it
- 22:51shaved off another layer and my suspension of disbelief was
- 22:54fully gone by that point. We're no longer on some alien
- 22:58planet. It just looks like a normal
- 23:00place so it just I want. To say most, this movie just
- 23:02looked like Alberta. It did look like Alberta.
- 23:05That's what I'm saying. They went from a jungle to
- 23:07Alberta. Did anyone feel the weight of
- 23:10the one Ewok's death at the end? I forgot that an Ewok died.
- 23:13He was so much bigger than the rest of them, so just kind of
- 23:16seemed like he was just a guy in a bear suit.
- 23:20Dad, if you could identify them, which magic item did that Ewok
- 23:24have? That was the lumberjack.
- 23:26When they found him late in the adventures, he chopped a tree
- 23:30down that almost landed on one of their caravan horses.
- 23:33Because. He's very good at his job.
- 23:35And then Mace tried to pick a fight with him.
- 23:39Because Mace. And then he so like.
- 23:41Iguana And so they handed him something that looked like a
- 23:44piece of bone or something like. It was a tooth.
- 23:47Sure. We watched it a few weeks ago,
- 23:49so I'm not exactly. Yeah, I watched it today.
- 23:52So you watched Caravan of Courage today.
- 23:55Oh no, sorry, I watched Caravan of Courage yesterday, OK.
- 23:57I wish. I wish I'd watched the two
- 24:00movies on different days. We watched the first movie and I
- 24:05was like, OK, I'm done now. And then Dad was like, no,
- 24:09you're coming back here and you're watching the second
- 24:11movie. Told me out of my room that I
- 24:14could watch the second movie. Yeah, it was checked out for the
- 24:17second movie, which I will accept fault for Caravan of
- 24:22Courage is definitely the worst of the two in my opinion, but
- 24:26there's things to dislike about both, so let's jump into the
- 24:29second one. In 1985 SA year later, the
- 24:34sequel Ewok movie came out, The Battle of Endor Chance.
- 24:38Can you tell the audience what happened in the second one?
- 24:43So right off the. Bat all of single family dice
- 24:45all the so single and wicked who now speaks English thank the.
- 24:49Lord. Escape to.
- 24:51The. Forest where they meet an old
- 24:53man named Noah who is also crash landed and with the help of Noah
- 24:58and some fast alien whose name is like a.
- 25:00Beep or keep. He's a Pokémon.
- 25:02He's a Pokémon and they save them from they say really bad.
- 25:06Dude from the Marauders. This they had a title.
- 25:10The Marauders are the plan of bad guys.
- 25:13This is the writing that George Lucas did.
- 25:16He gave them names and then gave.
- 25:17George Lucas's word. When I was watching this movie,
- 25:21it took about 80% of the way into the movie, maybe 90%, for
- 25:25me to realize Syndal's family is just straight up dead.
- 25:28They're not coming back. This isn't going to be the
- 25:29reveal thing, Kai. Refused to believe the whole
- 25:33movie that the protagonist from the previous movie would be
- 25:37killed with less than 4 minutes of screen time in this.
- 25:41Movie. He didn't get close to 4 minutes
- 25:43of screen time I think. 33 seconds, yeah. 33 seconds.
- 25:47Didn't you see the Fitbit said they were dead.
- 25:50I didn't believe the Fitbit, Yeah.
- 25:52It was quite shocking because Mace was like the main character
- 25:57in the first one and. Why not just capture them?
- 26:00I don't understand. Syndal is supposed to be in the
- 26:03same situation as Wicket because Syndal's parents and family
- 26:07died. She can relate to Wicket but
- 26:10Wicket's family didn't die. They could have just been
- 26:13captured parents. Are dead?
- 26:15Where are your family now? It's been like 30 seconds.
- 26:19I feel like Syndal moved on pretty.
- 26:21Fast. Oh yeah, she did.
- 26:23And the mom, you didn't even see her face.
- 26:25Her face was just down in the mud.
- 26:27These Fitbits, they're all wearing these bracelets that
- 26:30tell you when your family member dies, like.
- 26:33Yeah, that's their person. Why would someone own that?
- 26:36And if they would, why don't we have them now?
- 26:39In current day and age, would any of you use a bracelet that
- 26:43would tell you if your family members are dead?
- 26:44I don't think so. Like oh, my wife forgot to
- 26:47charge her Fitbit. I guess she's dead.
- 26:49Yeah, in real world technology, that would just be way too
- 26:52finicky and they would just activate all the time.
- 26:55But I'm imagining it's just a normal Fitbit.
- 26:57It has other features, but if it thinks that you're dead, it'll
- 27:00send a notification to somebody. Hey, just so you know, this
- 27:03person might be dead right now. It uses that terminology.
- 27:08Hey just adds up. I don't know if you're busy.
- 27:11Or something right now, but your.
- 27:13Wife might be dead. So.
- 27:16The. Only thing I enjoyed about this
- 27:18second movie. Was that more guys fall in the
- 27:21pit? One guy falls in a Moat.
- 27:24Oh no, I'm talking about the guys who had boulders rolled on
- 27:27their heads. Yeah.
- 27:29They did that to themselves. They just hit themselves with
- 27:31boulders and then died. Yeah, there's just a bunch of
- 27:34victim blaming over here. Are we supposed to blame the
- 27:38boulders? They shoot at the kids and then
- 27:42the boulders come running down on them and they die.
- 27:45Lots of boulder blaming up here I just want to say.
- 27:49So I watched both these movies with my uncle who is very
- 27:54invested in the Star Wars universe.
- 27:56Was he invested in this? He never remembered watching
- 28:00these, so I guess maybe that's what your brain does after so
- 28:04many decades so we can anticipate forgetting that we
- 28:07ever. So we can come back.
- 28:09I thought you were going to say after experiencing drama, yeah.
- 28:13The brain tries to heal. Yeah, time heals all wounds.
- 28:17I was glad to have him around because I had to keep him awake
- 28:20by constantly pushing him, and that's what kept me awake was
- 28:24that I had to keep him awake. This.
- 28:27Is like energy vampire, but you're so far into the negatives
- 28:30that you just need anything to stay up.
- 28:33So we're watching the second movie and we're like, Oh my
- 28:36goodness, this movie is way higher stakes than the first
- 28:39one. So much action and adventure.
- 28:42It's fast. Paced, it starts really good.
- 28:45You think it's going to be good. It tricks you and then you.
- 28:48Remember that? And then they meet Noah.
- 28:52It just slows down and Noah has tiki or whatever.
- 28:57This little white rat that's a speedster like The Flash,
- 29:00despite having a very fast character movie, is at its
- 29:04slowest. I think actually John, it slows
- 29:07down. Before that I was almost asleep
- 29:09when Syndal was being attacked by the bird, ironically.
- 29:13Action was so low stakes that scene was.
- 29:17So bad it was like a dinosaur. It was a stop motion creature
- 29:21like most of the enemies dangerous creatures of these
- 29:25movies. Whoa, did can I just bring up a
- 29:27dinosaur this season? Technically, the name for the
- 29:33monster is called the Condor Dragon.
- 29:36It's a dragon, OK. That's an awesome name for a
- 29:39stupid monster. Yeah, I think this movie goes
- 29:42downhill right after the two guys get hit by boulders.
- 29:45I think that was the peak of the movie.
- 29:47That was our peak. The previous movie felt at least
- 29:50somewhat grounded. OK, yeah, they're fighting a big
- 29:53monster and the Ewoks have a shaman.
- 29:55And then in the second movie full on, which shows up and
- 29:58starts performing magic everywhere and I'm like, OK,
- 30:01yeah, you should have expected that.
- 30:04That was the next logical step. Oh.
- 30:05This movie's so bad. And then she got stuck being a
- 30:08crow. Yes, she felt the most out of
- 30:11place. I guess she's like a night
- 30:13sister according to the lore. So that's one of those Sith
- 30:17witches from Ethamir that you learn about in the Clone Wars
- 30:21and Rebels animated shows. But in this movie, she looks
- 30:26like a Power Ranger villain. Yeah, she felt like the bad guy
- 30:31from the live action lawn movie. Oh, that is a good.
- 30:34Allegory, actually, just because they both turn into birds.
- 30:37No, every aspect of them is basically the same.
- 30:40Turning on the bad guy, they turn into birds.
- 30:43They just feel like the same character.
- 30:46That Noah the older man, the premise in this story is that he
- 30:50and his companion also crash landed on Moon of Endor and his
- 30:57buddy died. So now Noah this old man just
- 31:00become grumpy and and so at first he is quite mean to Wicket
- 31:06and Syndal, but then comes a loving father figure.
- 31:09But the acting and the set and the way they deliver their
- 31:13lines, it feels like a really cheap television programming
- 31:18from four and five year olds. What are we calling the white
- 31:21rap? Pokémon.
- 31:22OK, that way that I feel like they react as soon as that
- 31:26Pokémon gets introduced. The next 20 minutes of the film
- 31:30are stuff like, oh that's that Pokémon doing its thing again.
- 31:34Sorry. He Lance the moon of Endor.
- 31:37Right, so the planet that this takes place on.
- 31:41Is not Endor, it's the moon of Endor.
- 31:42Well, it's the forest moon. We call it endor because that's
- 31:46the only thing we see of Endor. It's very unclear.
- 31:49I always thought it was the forest moon of Endor, as in
- 31:53speaking about a small moon of researching the larger planet.
- 31:58But in this movie they refer to it as Endor.
- 32:03I think the narrator calls it Endor even in the first movie.
- 32:06So it does make me question if the moon is called Endor.
- 32:10I thought it was the bigger planet that this moon is around
- 32:13that was called Endor, but it's unclear.
- 32:16Might I pause it a suggestion? Yeah, this is a bad movie.
- 32:20They don't know. In Star Wars, Endor is
- 32:22technically a moon, specifically the Forest Moon of Endor or
- 32:26Sanctuary Moon that orbits a massive gas giant planet also
- 32:31named Endor. Oh.
- 32:32Sometimes. Referred to as Tana.
- 32:35I think AI is also confused in this case, John.
- 32:39Did you do the AI summary? That's definitely what you just
- 32:42read. AI summary you go to Wikipedia
- 32:44if. You.
- 32:44Oh yeah, yeah, check Wikipedia. Endor Designated IX3244-A Also
- 32:51known as the Forest Moon of Endor or the Sanctuary Moon, the
- 32:54small Forest Moon. It's the 9th moon that orbited
- 32:57the Outer Rim planet of the same name.
- 33:00What? That's terrible.
- 33:02That seems to me like somebody got confused at one point.
- 33:06And. Whatever, let's just call it all
- 33:08indoor. They're just like, well, they're
- 33:10both indoor now. What you didn't see when they
- 33:12landed astronauts on Earth. Earth is by.
- 33:16Anyone of Earth? Did anyone feel like the final
- 33:19chase scene and fight of this movie just dragged on?
- 33:23It did. There was an old man fight.
- 33:27So for context for our listeners who don't want to watch this
- 33:31movie. Because why would you these?
- 33:34Marauders seem to be part of a medieval caste system with that
- 33:39bearing. Yeah, and in their adventures
- 33:44they come across one of the space faring humans.
- 33:48And they kill them. They torture him to find out
- 33:51about space travel. It doesn't really explain how
- 33:55they get so many laser guns because the implication is that
- 34:00they would have got those from him too.
- 34:02But but I don't know why he was packing 200 laser guns.
- 34:05No, I'm going on a journey to find out they so I'm taking 47
- 34:09guns. I don't think they understand
- 34:12that it's space travel. I think sure.
- 34:14They just think it's some kind of magical artifact, right?
- 34:17That would give them power. Still all in the same vein.
- 34:20They don't really understand. And so that seems to be the
- 34:23driving force in everything that they're doing.
- 34:26They kidnap the Ewoks because the Ewoks are adjacent to this
- 34:31family that knows about space travel.
- 34:34Long story short, Noah and the kids rescue the Ewoks and then
- 34:39they make their way back to Noah's ship and Noah uses the
- 34:43laser cannons on his ship to shoot most of the bad guys in
- 34:48Return of the Jedi. Ewoks are bloodthirsty killers.
- 34:53They murder and probably eat most of The Imperials that they
- 34:58fight. And I was actually leaning into
- 35:01this idea that they get guns for the first time in this movie.
- 35:05Where did all the guns go between the two films?
- 35:08They must have used them up. They shot them.
- 35:11Right now. As I'm telling you, they got
- 35:13addicted to killing. And then they went savage and
- 35:16forgot how to speak. OK, I see that.
- 35:20But it also explains in Return of the Jedi, one of them sneaks
- 35:23over to a speeder bike and just flips it on and takes off.
- 35:27And so they have. Experience with technology.
- 35:30Yes, this was all preparing them to be the perfect killing
- 35:35machines that we see in Return of the Jedi.
- 35:38Because in this movie, they just suck.
- 35:40They're worthless. After this movie, a hyper
- 35:43conservative Ewok rises up and explains why they need to garner
- 35:48their own self-defense. That's why we get the hyper
- 35:52violent Ewoks that we get. Yeah, I'm a Triceratops.
- 35:55Conserve the water. Yeah, I'm an Ewok.
- 35:58Conserve the guns. I mean, Ewok, they can't take
- 36:02our guns away from us. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Dang.
- 36:05It they could. Be on a.
- 36:06Shirt. I know I'm going to see that on
- 36:07a shirt. That's so upsetting, I know
- 36:12that. The Ewok Rifle Association.
- 36:14You're gonna. Spend the next week making this.
- 36:16Shirt I guess it'd be the indoor Ewok is better.
- 36:19It's still the ERA either way. And am I talking about the moon
- 36:23or the planet? Oh.
- 36:26Wow, you know, you have to do you have to make one of those
- 36:29shirts where it's like my Harley, my gun in my life, but
- 36:32it's just a speed or a blaster and an Ewok.
- 36:37Yeah, this movie sucks. The very end of the movie,
- 36:40Syndal gets on the ship with Noah and they fly away.
- 36:44Was that the plan the whole time?
- 36:46I felt surprised. Weird.
- 36:48Because Syndal's like the Ewoks are my family now.
- 36:51OK, bye Ewoks. We do know that it was planned
- 36:55to be a trilogy, so. They were definitely supposed to
- 36:59stay. On either, yeah, that was
- 37:01changed at the last minute when they were like, well, maybe we
- 37:04won't do another one of these or they would come back later.
- 37:07They come back after the stormtroopers.
- 37:11Yeah. Oh my God.
- 37:13Seen. That seen that?
- 37:16I'm kidding. Funny man.
- 37:19You watch the news. Is your childhood best friend
- 37:22essentially a serial killer of 38?
- 37:26That would definitely be on The Republic News.
- 37:30So after this movie, instead of doing a third movie, he did the
- 37:34two seasons of the Ewok cartoon. It's true.
- 37:37And you guys had seen the Ewok cartoon?
- 37:39Maybe? Yes.
- 37:40Which is why I was actually excited to do this episode.
- 37:43And then I learned that we wouldn't get to watch a cartoon
- 37:45from my childhood and instead we watched this.
- 37:48I don't remember actually ever watching the Ewok cartoon so.
- 37:51These are the same characters as in the cartoon though, Hey
- 37:55Chance. With the exception of the
- 37:56humans, obviously. Oh, I was going to say, do they
- 37:58bring back the dead people or? They just puppet them around.
- 38:03Oh yeah, like the helmet thing, right?
- 38:04Those helmets definitely have heads in them.
- 38:07Yeah, this movie ends with the crow lady getting stuck as a
- 38:11crow because her ring got stolen or something.
- 38:14And the bad guy getting turned to stone.
- 38:16Yeah, the bad guy faces the wrath of the magical stuff that
- 38:20he stole. So, Tim, you were the oldest
- 38:23when you would have watched these movies.
- 38:25My nostalgia for them is pretty faint.
- 38:28I have snapshots, I remember the parents being in the bone cage,
- 38:32I remember the spider, I remember the Condor dragon.
- 38:36Just very vague memories. What were your memories like and
- 38:40what was it like rewatching it? I would have seen Battle for
- 38:44Endor when I was quite young. I don't think I watched Caravan
- 38:49of Courage initially. It wouldn't have been until I
- 38:53was older and you were around that we would have maybe rented
- 38:57it or something. I don't even really know how we
- 39:00accessed that first movie. By all accounts, Battle for
- 39:04Endor is the better of the two on a.
- 39:08Technicality. The low bar. 1% better does not
- 39:13necessarily mean that it's a phenomenal.
- 39:15Movie. But I really wanted to do both
- 39:18for this podcast because I felt like there needed to be the
- 39:22weight of these characters before they killed them in the
- 39:27first 30 seconds. Yeah.
- 39:28And I mean, it kind of worked because Kai refused to believe
- 39:32that. They were dead.
- 39:33So shocked that this children's movie would be like OK these
- 39:36characters are dead now they're dead.
- 39:38Good luck living with that trauma, kid.
- 39:40So we watched on Disney Plus and Disney Plus is very deceiving
- 39:44because for whatever reason, the cover or the image that comes up
- 39:49when you pull up Battle of Her and.
- 39:50Or yeah, that's the other thing. I saw the picture of the movie
- 39:54and it had the kid front and center like.
- 39:57What is some type of male protagonist?
- 39:59It might be someone. Else there's if it was somebody
- 40:02else. Who was it?
- 40:04There were like characters on the box that didn't identify in
- 40:07the movie. So I was just waiting.
- 40:09For more humans to show up. We got 1 old guy in his pet rat
- 40:14and that's all that we get. So I'm just waiting for the
- 40:16characters to come back and then 80% of the way through the movie
- 40:20I'm like, oh wait, they're actually dead.
- 40:23I also was confused because of that poster on Disney plus
- 40:27because Mace the boy is older in the picture and he's the biggest
- 40:32part of the picture. Exactly it.
- 40:35Takes up 80% of the poster. Would you rather that just be as
- 40:39carcass be more? Honest, at least let the kids.
- 40:44Know what they're coming into. As an adult, I've since learned
- 40:47that Star Wars fandom didn't like Ewoks, kind of similar to
- 40:52how people didn't like Jar Jar Binks.
- 40:54But did you love Ewoks? As a kid?
- 40:56You had Ewok toys. What was your process with
- 40:59Ewoks? Yeah, that's fair.
- 41:01I don't think I realized that they were supposed to be.
- 41:04He hated. I mean, Returning the Jedi came
- 41:07out the year that I was born, so I don't know what my first
- 41:10introduction was to it. I have memories from when I was
- 41:13really little, like being in Ireland with my cousin and him
- 41:17showing me his Star Wars toys. And one of them being.
- 41:21Ewok. He had the Ewok village.
- 41:23Oh. To be fair, the village was
- 41:25pretty cool. Very cool.
- 41:27So cool in fact that they resold it later for the Robin Hood
- 41:31Prince of Thieves set of toys. Just the Ewok Village repackaged
- 41:36as a Robin Hood village. But yes, he had a rancor and he
- 41:42had all the coolest stuff. I remember we went to the store
- 41:45and I got to buy a Star Wars toy while we were there, and then
- 41:50months later he would ship me a care package of the Star Wars
- 41:54toys he didn't want. That's how we got John the
- 41:57Millennium Falcon and the 88 in this.
- 42:01You were. Oh wow.
- 42:02Good. From scraps.
- 42:03That's right, those best leftovers of all time.
- 42:07Our best Star Wars thing were like the servants eat the best
- 42:11because they get everything the king doesn't care about or
- 42:14whatever. I remember as a kid, The Return
- 42:17of the Jedi was my favorite Star Wars movie when I was really
- 42:20young, just because there was so much flashiness and creatures
- 42:24with Jabba's Palace, then with the Ewoks.
- 42:27And he had the best space battle.
- 42:29You know, like the duel between Luke and Darth Vader was slow
- 42:34was my least favorite part, but the space battle outside where
- 42:37they go inside the Death Star was so cool too.
- 42:41Yeah, so I agree, John. Those were things that I didn't
- 42:43really pick up on. And I liked Battle for Endor as
- 42:47well. By the time Episode 1 came out I
- 42:51was in high school and I I did not like Jar Jar Binks.
- 42:57There was enough to like about that movie that I didn't hate
- 43:01it, but Jar Jar Binks really frustrated me and turned me off.
- 43:05But I actually was telling John. I watched episode 1 about a week
- 43:10or two ago and gosh Jar Jar Binks is worse than I remember.
- 43:15Even he is atrocious. Whoever thought that Star Wars
- 43:19needed more poop and fart jokes? I can't even wrap my head.
- 43:24I'm gonna kill him. Like, it's so bad now watching
- 43:28these movies and as an adult watching Return of the Jedi,
- 43:32there's no way those little teddy bears could kill any of
- 43:36the Imperial soldiers, let alone Palpatine says they're a legion
- 43:42of his greatest soldiers. There's no way.
- 43:47Yes, Return of the Jedi, you know, as a kid, it was my
- 43:50favorite Star Wars. As an adult I just can't really
- 43:54get past the Ewoks, they are really hard to watch.
- 43:58I think that they could take them down.
- 43:59If there were a lot of them, hundreds of thousands of Ewoks
- 44:02in the forest, I think that they would wear you down.
- 44:05Like one of those things where it's like 1000 Kermits versus 10
- 44:09Iron Man, yeah. No, I've seen those videos and
- 44:13there's like a mountain of dead. Kermits every time.
- 44:17No, what I was saying is the one of every Pokémon versus a
- 44:20trillion lions, but the current one is 1 gorilla.
- 44:22Versus one gorilla versus on. Yeah, which wins.
- 44:26Who's to say if you had 200 humans, 300 humans, 1000 Ewoks?
- 44:31This is the gorilla. Getting done.
- 44:32Whoops. I don't think all of the Ewoks
- 44:35need to know technology. But The Imperials had guns.
- 44:38OK, cool. You shoot an imperial.
- 44:40With a bug and. Then somebody else picks up his
- 44:43gun and shoots somebody randomly.
- 44:45I want to point out these guys are wearing armor.
- 44:47Have you seen a stormtrooper get shot by a blaster bolt?
- 44:49They die instantly. Do they die or do they just get
- 44:52hit really hard? They just don't.
- 44:54They never get up. They're all getting shot with
- 44:57sleeping darts. Those Ewoks were hitting them
- 45:01with sleeping hammers. Oh, the.
- 45:04Sleeping pit that they were dropping them into.
- 45:06I see the pit of big. Sleepy Shine fell in the pit of
- 45:11Big Sleepy twice. He's a little bit bigger, so
- 45:14it's harder. To put him down for a nap.
- 45:17Let's go to closing, folks. Actually wait before we do what
- 45:21happened to the? Witch I got turned into a crow.
- 45:23Did she stay a. Crow.
- 45:24Yeah, she needed her ring to turn back and forth, so.
- 45:27She flew towards the ring, but then it was gone, so she just
- 45:30left. The force works in mysterious
- 45:32ways. Sometimes you get turned into a
- 45:35crow for life. Is she normally a crow?
- 45:37That's right, she's a crow that learned the Force.
- 45:40No, just like that Pond learned how to use the Force and sucked
- 45:44Mason. Why she?
- 45:47Take that ring around and put it in the swamp and turn it into a
- 45:50person. If you could give that ring if
- 45:53you. Put that ring on somebody's
- 45:54finger and then took it off. Would they turn into a crow?
- 45:57Is that the implication? Or maybe they would turn it to
- 45:59her. Oh, in reality.
- 46:02The Crow and the. Person are two separate people.
- 46:05They just swap out via the ring. Yeah, it's like Shazam.
- 46:08Yeah, she's trapped in the. Ring curtain.
- 46:10Sorry, Chance. The Crow.
- 46:12Is a person. Yeah, and they're free now.
- 46:14Do you want to? Clarify because they don't have
- 46:16this. The crow in Ewok law is defined
- 46:19as having rights, and being a person is what refers to those
- 46:23of sound mind and body able to make conscious thoughts.
- 46:27Yeah, Crowbius mortis, everyone knows.
- 46:29This. Yeah, yeah, we can tell it.
- 46:32Has sound mind because it calls for the bad guys to come fight
- 46:36them when they're running away, so we know that they understand
- 46:40what's going on. The Crow really seemed to want
- 46:42that ring though. Yeah, this was all.
- 46:45Actually explained in the original draft of this movie
- 46:49when it had a narrator. John complained so much about
- 46:52having a narrator in the first movie that they took it out.
- 46:55Yeah, in the third movie there were no visuals.
- 46:58And it was all narrator. It was just a black screen and
- 47:02an audio book. Yeah, yeah, the.
- 47:03Narrator would just tell you what happened the.
- 47:05Cave of the Big Sleep. No, it was a pit of big sleepy.
- 47:11OK, so big sleepy tell. Us what I would change.
- 47:17Can I? Wonder what I would change?
- 47:19The movie doesn't have that many things that need changing.
- 47:22I would look at the script and then I would laugh the person
- 47:26who made it out of the room, George Lucas.
- 47:29I would laugh, George. Lucas out of the room.
- 47:31Get out of here, George, the characters.
- 47:33Are not compelling the narrator. In the first movie sucks.
- 47:37I would just have to completely rewrite this movie.
- 47:39What do I say? I just wouldn't make this movie
- 47:42so I quite the. All right, John.
- 47:45Over to you. Yeah.
- 47:46I guess I would just change everything I would.
- 47:48Just make a better movie. You are with your folks.
- 47:50Kai's making a new movie. Coming this fall, a new Ewok
- 47:54movie. OK, wait, wait.
- 47:56You remove the Ewoks. You.
- 47:58Remove all the. Magic stuff and you.
- 48:00Make it in space. There's a giant artifact that's
- 48:03going to destroy planets, and then you make it all about
- 48:06trying to go stop that because you have a robot that has a disc
- 48:09in it. That's the last hope for the
- 48:11plans for it. That's my movie.
- 48:13Like the Grinch. Yeah, Yeah.
- 48:16Sounds a little. Derivative if you ask me, but
- 48:18well. It's based off of the concept.
- 48:20Of the Grinch, yeah. I'm pulling.
- 48:22Ideas from all of the SU. Stories OK and I was taking
- 48:26notes on the movie The. Only positive things I could say
- 48:29what the first movie were tent on the back of the horse and
- 48:33that the movie poster had some cool artwork.
- 48:35What positive things can you say about the second movie?
- 48:38Well, the second one I created the space for I.
- 48:40Called them commendations, like positive things.
- 48:43Oh yeah, it remained empty. This movie.
- 48:58Really hard for something. Good, and you will not.
- 49:00Find it John, the fact that in the first movie you.
- 49:04Were willing to. Praise anything that made you
- 49:07think for half a second and then in the second movie you weren't
- 49:10able to find anything that's so funny.
- 49:14Do you think the. 1st movie's better than the second movie,
- 49:16John. Yes.
- 49:18And then the Ewoks went to the village.
- 49:20To look for I think at least in the 1st. 1.
- 49:23Bad guy. It's just a mysterious giant and
- 49:27these trials in their journey. The second one actually has bad
- 49:30guys, but it's worse off for it because the bad guys do it just
- 49:34suck. And that grandpa and speedster
- 49:38white Pokémon, they're just horrendous.
- 49:41I think any kind of merit I take.
- 49:43Away from these. Movies is I learned that I have
- 49:46a lot of growing to do in being more patient when you have that.
- 49:51Much time for. Introspection, you know, learn a
- 49:55lot about how you can grow as a human.
- 49:57Yeah, John would. You rather watch the.
- 50:01First half of the first movie or the second-half of the second
- 50:04movie? Those are the worst parts, yes.
- 50:06Which is worse to you? Is narrator worse?
- 50:09The speedster is terrible, John, but I don't think the second
- 50:13movie reaches. As.
- 50:15Low of lows is my Mace is unbearable in that first.
- 50:19Movie that kid is so whiny is worse.
- 50:22I think the only thing. That.
- 50:24Would give the second movie in Edges that Wicked can speak
- 50:28English so you don't have to sit through those terrible scenes
- 50:32well and also every character in.
- 50:34That movie is so bad. But the only ones who speak
- 50:37English are the worst ones. Yeah, like Wicked Speak English
- 50:41is so good because Wicked is bearable.
- 50:43That's the bar we needed to cross, you know?
- 50:46Are you saying that you don't like food?
- 50:48Eat, eat. Food, Food.
- 50:50Eat, eat, eat, eat. I think that's our callback to
- 50:54the. Unfortunately, right.
- 50:58Well, John had a. Really.
- 50:59Glowing review for these movies chance over to you.
- 51:05You know it's. Bad this review is.
- 51:07I can't find. Anything.
- 51:09So bad I truly hated. This experience, I want you guys
- 51:12to know that, Yeah, The way I don't think I can actually
- 51:15describe, Yeah, I hated these movies.
- 51:19So much. There's like no redeeming
- 51:21quality I think. This is gonna be two ones.
- 51:26Bordering on zero. I really hated +1 or -1.
- 51:32Sure, +0 or. -0. +1 because if a movie.
- 51:38Is a negative. I enjoy watching it with other
- 51:40people. I watch this as my wife and I
- 51:43felt bad for her. I.
- 51:50Thought you were gonna say you were.
- 51:51Embarrassed to watch them and you didn't want anyone to know
- 51:56that makes it good. That makes it a better movie.
- 52:00Is that you felt bad for someone else?
- 52:02I so bad you guys. I really.
- 52:04Hated this movie. I'm genuinely curious where
- 52:07this. Would rank in our scale of worst
- 52:10movies we've had to watch for this podcast.
- 52:12Like, I think that this is less bad than Dougal, less bad than
- 52:16Fast and the Furious 35. But how much less bad?
- 52:20Well, I think that both of these movies are.
- 52:23Not as bad as things like Lamb Before Time movies have been.
- 52:27However, Lamb Before Time, we typically are in and out in an
- 52:31hour. This was you were like, oh.
- 52:34It's OK, it's a short movie. Terrible.
- 52:38OK, well, I guess over to me. I don't think I'm going to watch
- 52:41this movie again. What?
- 52:45Yeah. So.
- 52:46I don't have much. To add to that, we all had an
- 52:49amazing time and do we finish this season strong?
- 52:53We only have one episode left of this season and that'll be our
- 52:57season 4 in review. You guys, four years isn't that
- 53:02wild? That's crazy.
- 53:04You know, that's the only. Good thing about.
- 53:06Bad movies is that when we review them, we get to have fun
- 53:10making fun of how terrible they were, you know, healing from
- 53:13trauma and all that. I don't think that's how that
- 53:15works. Chance did you?
- 53:17Enjoy your time here today. Did you enjoy your podcast
- 53:20experience more than you enjoyed the Batman podcast experience?
- 53:24I mean, that's a low bar because.
- 53:25John was asleep. Yes, that's true.
- 53:28The one time. The one.
- 53:30Time. No.
- 53:31I'm. You were asleep during.
- 53:33The podcast. John, I know we make fun of me,
- 53:36but nicely on the movies we aren't making.
- 53:38Fun of you for. That one, we're just making that
- 53:41the benchmark for the worst episode.
- 53:43So I was asleep. Yeah.
- 53:45John, we need you here. You're the.
- 53:46Most likable person on the podcast.
- 53:49You can't be asleep even chances life likes you.
- 53:53Most. OK, well, let's call her there.
- 53:56Lookout for weirdos and don't forget to breathe in and out.
- 54:01That's right, foodie. Eat Grandma John, do you have
- 54:10one? Praise Beethoven.
- 54:11Nice classic.
