- 0:00Speaker 1: Beyond the usual controversial talking.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Welcome to one to prepare yourself.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Okay for Craig.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Preparing my dewspectacle here.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Particulate stimulating you right there? There, you go back, you
- 0:24Speaker 2: start becoming a geen.
- 0:27Speaker 4: Is the Craigcullin show.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Jesus, oh no dot.
- 0:31Speaker 5: Talking This station is well the ultimate color in the universe.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Your host, it's a good.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Man, Craig.
- 0:40Speaker 2: But how are you doing, Sidney?
- 0:43Speaker 6: I'm doing great. Don't worry about it, Craig.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's live radio. It happens. It's crazy and it happens,
- 0:50Speaker 2: and it's fine.
- 0:52Speaker 6: You know what.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Actually, let's get right to it, because Cindy Siegel, we
- 0:56Speaker 2: have a lot of things to talk about. Senator Paul
- 0:58Speaker 2: Bettencourt put something out there that I think is huge.
- 1:01Speaker 2: It's a very very big deal and a lot a
- 1:04Speaker 2: lot of people should be paying attention to it. The
- 1:06Speaker 2: Harris County GOP board chair, of course, Cindy Siegel is
- 1:10Speaker 2: on with us. It's all about property taxes and it's
- 1:14Speaker 2: all about hikes in them. Do you want to explain
- 1:16Speaker 2: this or do you want me to do it?
- 1:18Speaker 6: Well, I'm happy to make a stab at it. You know.
- 1:23Speaker 6: The the reality is the commissioner's court other than our
- 1:28Speaker 6: Republican Commissioner Tom Ramsey, along with the county Judge Lena
- 1:35Speaker 6: dalgo All those Democrats want to raise our taxes again.
- 1:39Speaker 6: They want to raise the property right.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah, they want to it like hundreds of dollars again, go.
- 1:46Speaker 6: Ahead, yes, And I think it ends up when you
- 1:49Speaker 6: factor in the other here county, like the flight district
- 1:55Speaker 6: as well as the hospital district. You know, we're talking
- 2:00Speaker 6: significant amount of money. And so for the average home owner,
- 2:04Speaker 6: I think Senator Bettencourt calculated it was going to be
- 2:09Speaker 6: around two hundred over two hundred dollars or in property
- 2:12Speaker 6: taxes at a time when people are complaining about affordability.
- 2:19Speaker 6: And if they want to blame inflation, blame the economy,
- 2:25Speaker 6: they need to look right here in Harris County and
- 2:29Speaker 6: look in the eye the Democrats to control our commissioners.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yes, yes, they do, absolutely they do, all right, So
- 2:36Speaker 2: this is one of the biggest tax hikes if it
- 2:39Speaker 2: does happen in property taxes in the history of the county.
- 2:42Speaker 2: As I think you or Lander Sanchez and a bunch
- 2:44Speaker 2: of people are talking about, how do they try to
- 2:47Speaker 2: get away with this at a time when I think
- 2:49Speaker 2: most people in Texas, most people in Harris County, most
- 2:52Speaker 2: people anywhere that can hear this radio show, are livid
- 2:55Speaker 2: in the property taxes they already pay. Why does anyone
- 2:58Speaker 2: think this is a good time for a political strategy
- 3:01Speaker 2: or move like this.
- 3:03Speaker 6: I'm clueless. I mean when it comes to trying to
- 3:06Speaker 6: understand the Democrat's mind. I mean, the fact is they
- 3:13Speaker 6: got themselves in this fine back in COVID. You know,
- 3:16Speaker 6: they took a bunch of federal money. They were supposed
- 3:20Speaker 6: to use it to plug the holes, to keep the
- 3:22Speaker 6: county operating at the basic level. Instead they added programs.
- 3:28Speaker 6: They you know, they added a lot of stuff that
- 3:32Speaker 6: was unnecessary. And you know when when you're in a
- 3:35Speaker 6: crisis like we were back then, and people were trying
- 3:38Speaker 6: to stay employed, and that was the intent, was to
- 3:42Speaker 6: be able to deliver basic level services and keep your employees.
- 3:47Speaker 6: And instead they were spending it like it was just reebing,
- 3:52Speaker 6: you know, like I guess because it was Uncle Sam's dollars.
- 3:55Speaker 6: As far as they were concerned, they were just adding programs,
- 4:00Speaker 6: et cetera. And now they want to they keep doing it.
- 4:04Speaker 6: I live in Commissioner Rodney Ellis's district, which is very unfortunate.
- 4:11Speaker 6: But that's another there's not enough time, Craig for us
- 4:14Speaker 6: to go into that. But I'm constantly getting really nice
- 4:19Speaker 6: things in the mail that talk about, come to this event,
- 4:23Speaker 6: come to this event. Here's, you know, some heritage appreciation months,
- 4:29Speaker 6: here's voter appreciation. I mean, come on, they need to
- 4:36Speaker 6: have a reality check and hopefully the voters will give
- 4:40Speaker 6: it to well see exactly.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Okay, that's the thing I always hope for and the
- 4:43Speaker 2: thing that unfortunately we don't get as much of in
- 4:45Speaker 2: Harris County as we would want, because you would, I believe,
- 4:49Speaker 2: and it sounds that you believe, Cindy, and we do.
- 4:51Speaker 2: We fight, we put up the good fight. But that
- 4:54Speaker 2: people who see something terrible happen and then see a
- 4:58Speaker 2: horrible decision compound the terwer like everything that they do
- 5:01Speaker 2: seems to go further and further the wrong way. And
- 5:04Speaker 2: especially at a time when most Americans are already complaining
- 5:08Speaker 2: about our day to day financial situations, that these are
- 5:11Speaker 2: the kind of things that would have caused people to
- 5:13Speaker 2: lose elections. And so I'm going to ask you this
- 5:15Speaker 2: question in kind of a way to parallel what's going
- 5:18Speaker 2: on in the Senate race here in Texas. Do you
- 5:20Speaker 2: think that somehow, some way there's just not enough messaging
- 5:24Speaker 2: landing the places it's supposed to message. And what I
- 5:27Speaker 2: mean by that is a lot of people who just
- 5:29Speaker 2: don't consume a media that tells them the truth. They
- 5:32Speaker 2: go to their tried and true places that hide all
- 5:35Speaker 2: of this information unlike KSV radio does from you. And
- 5:40Speaker 2: there's people here who are just uninformed, like they're hoping
- 5:43Speaker 2: that they will be if they vote for tall Ico,
- 5:45Speaker 2: even though he represents none of the things that Texas
- 5:48Speaker 2: Texans believe in. Is that one of the big challenges
- 5:50Speaker 2: is breaking through whatever those bubbles are.
- 5:53Speaker 6: That's a huge challenge. I mean, I think you have
- 5:57Speaker 6: a lot of people that want to blame Trump. They
- 6:00Speaker 6: want to look nationally, but they need to come right
- 6:04Speaker 6: here to home. And if you want to talk about affordability,
- 6:08Speaker 6: you talk about when was it twenty three they had
- 6:11Speaker 6: a huge property tax rate increased?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Then?
- 6:15Speaker 6: Uh, And here they're going to do what the second
- 6:17Speaker 6: largest one in the history of the county. Who's controlling it?
- 6:22Speaker 6: Who's It's been the Democrats since twenty nineteen when they
- 6:25Speaker 6: took over and The fact is they've increased the budget
- 6:31Speaker 6: craig annually over a billion dollars since they took over
- 6:36Speaker 6: a billion dollars. You know, they've got nine ten people
- 6:41Speaker 6: that are making over four hundred thousand dollars. And listening
- 6:44Speaker 6: to your radio, right before you came on, they were
- 6:48Speaker 6: talking about the County treasure is asking for an over
- 6:53Speaker 6: two hundred and fifty thousand dollars pay rate, which is
- 6:56Speaker 6: I think I saw figures that it was seventy nine
- 6:59Speaker 6: percent increase. Yeah, we're not talking a seven percent We're
- 7:02Speaker 6: talking almost an eighty percent increase. You and I are
- 7:07Speaker 6: in the wrong businesses that can happen.
- 7:09Speaker 2: It's obnoxious, it's absolutely ridiculous, and it's the kind of
- 7:12Speaker 2: thing again, it all falls into that same category of
- 7:15Speaker 2: I'm struggling, I'm upset right now, how dare you go
- 7:19Speaker 2: do what you're gonna do with my money? If I'm
- 7:20Speaker 2: the everyday taxpayer watching stuff like this happen and thinking,
- 7:24Speaker 2: how dare people behave this way at this time? Like
- 7:27Speaker 2: the optics of it. They just don't seem to care.
- 7:31Speaker 6: They don't And you know, I think people I think
- 7:34Speaker 6: it hasn't sunk in. You know, people are just living
- 7:37Speaker 6: their life. They're trying to make a living. Yeah, but
- 7:39Speaker 6: I'm hearing from our candidates they're out there block walking,
- 7:43Speaker 6: like Richard Bego, for example, going up against Adrian Garcia
- 7:47Speaker 6: and preachin Q. He said in his neighborhood alone, he
- 7:50Speaker 6: said he sees house after house being put on the
- 7:54Speaker 6: market and he's ask them, you know, why are you leaving?
- 7:59Speaker 6: And they said it's the property taxes for those young
- 8:02Speaker 6: people that are renting, and thinking, oh, well, that's the
- 8:06Speaker 6: rich people who can own a house. No, what is
- 8:10Speaker 6: going to happen is your landlord is passing will pass
- 8:14Speaker 6: those property tax increases on those business owners that are
- 8:19Speaker 6: going to be paying for additional property taxes, They're going
- 8:24Speaker 6: to pass them on through increased cost of doing the business.
- 8:29Speaker 6: That's just the reality. So you want to talk about affordability,
- 8:33Speaker 6: don't blame Trump, Blame Lena Hidalgo, Rodney Ellis and Adrian
- 8:38Speaker 6: Garcia and Leslie brionas amen.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Even Ken Paxton is out there. I think he sent
- 8:44Speaker 2: a letter to one hundred and sixteen cities, few of
- 8:47Speaker 2: which are definitely within our area. One is within the
- 8:49Speaker 2: city of Houston, saying you cannot raise property taxes beyond
- 8:53Speaker 2: any sort of state legal limit, because apparently that threat
- 8:56Speaker 2: needs to be made that there's a lot of places
- 8:58Speaker 2: that want to do everything they can to screw people,
- 9:02Speaker 2: to screw Texans right now, and doing it without even offering.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I think this was in Senator Bettencourt's press release today,
- 9:09Speaker 2: Like the budget didn't change. There's no new spending, no
- 9:12Speaker 2: new thing that they're trying to use as an umbrella
- 9:14Speaker 2: of we need all this extra money because we got
- 9:16Speaker 2: to pay for this new thing that's going to benefit you.
- 9:18Speaker 2: They just want more money, and they're not really going
- 9:21Speaker 2: to do anything else with the money. They're just going
- 9:23Speaker 2: to keep it, and as you said, they're gonna put
- 9:25Speaker 2: some of it in their own pockets via some raises
- 9:27Speaker 2: of salaries. So it's it's sort of crazy to ask
- 9:30Speaker 2: for more money and also not offer people any sort
- 9:33Speaker 2: of additional benefit as far as what you're spending the
- 9:36Speaker 2: money on.
- 9:37Speaker 6: Well, Commissioner Ramsay's told me of that increase of a
- 9:41Speaker 6: billion dollars, over half of it is just discretionary spending,
- 9:46Speaker 6: stuff that they didn't need, that they could cut. And
- 9:50Speaker 6: you know that's not real life. That's not all of
- 9:53Speaker 6: us are out there trying to make a living, and
- 9:55Speaker 6: you know, we have to live in a budget within
- 9:59Speaker 6: you know, our meeting, and they're driving businesses, they're driving
- 10:04Speaker 6: people out of Harris County. I saw some figure Craik
- 10:08Speaker 6: that said we've lost like two hundred three hundred thousand residents.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 6: Wow, and people can't afford deliver. So don't blame DC.
- 10:18Speaker 6: You want to blame someone, it's right here at home.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Well, and what's crazy about that too? As you said
- 10:23Speaker 2: real quick? And then I do want to transition to
- 10:25Speaker 2: something that Governor Abbott was talking about today on Fox.
- 10:29Speaker 2: But people are coming to Texas. I'm someone who recently
- 10:32Speaker 2: transplanted from Illinois, which is horrible, and the property taxes
- 10:35Speaker 2: there are somehow even worse than here, and so there
- 10:38Speaker 2: are people flooding into the state. And so how terrible
- 10:42Speaker 2: is it to be the few cities that people are
- 10:45Speaker 2: avoiding because they're making the same mistakes as all those
- 10:48Speaker 2: democratic run cities and states that people are running away from.
- 10:51Speaker 2: If you run from Illinois to Houston. The wake up
- 10:55Speaker 2: call for me was, wait a minute, some of these policies,
- 10:58Speaker 2: some of these things happening in this are still unfortunately
- 11:01Speaker 2: overwhelmingly democratic policies that are hurting me and not helping me.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I love not paying any more, you know, state income tax,
- 11:08Speaker 2: but I don't love having a similar property tax to
- 11:11Speaker 2: what I was paying when I was living in Illinois
- 11:13Speaker 2: under Democratic rule throughout the state, not just the cities
- 11:16Speaker 2: I lived.
- 11:16Speaker 6: In, I know, and that's the same. That's crazy is
- 11:21Speaker 6: you get people that come here because they can't afford
- 11:23Speaker 6: California or Illinois, and they come here and then all
- 11:27Speaker 6: of a sudden they're voting for those kind of candidates
- 11:31Speaker 6: that they ran away from.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:33Speaker 6: I mean it's like, stop this, stop the insanity. Don't
- 11:38Speaker 6: come here. I mean, you have to understand what we're about.
- 11:41Speaker 6: We're about lower taxes, opportunity, being able to have a
- 11:46Speaker 6: nice lifestyle. And you know we're about in the Republican Party,
- 11:51Speaker 6: our candidates government from Governor Abbott to Paxton on down.
- 11:56Speaker 6: You know, it's about less government, letting you live your life,
- 12:02Speaker 6: letting you keep more of those dollars in your pocket. Yeah,
- 12:06Speaker 6: living in safer neighborhoods. I mean, and just let me
- 12:11Speaker 6: live without you sticking your nose in my business.
- 12:14Speaker 2: I love it, Cindy, I do want to ask you
- 12:16Speaker 2: about this, so Governor Abbott today on Fox talked about
- 12:19Speaker 2: a freeze, not a full band, although it's being discussed
- 12:22Speaker 2: as a full band on H one B visas being
- 12:25Speaker 2: used by teachers in Texas public schools. The reason, and
- 12:29Speaker 2: I have some audio I'm going to play later he's
- 12:31Speaker 2: doing this is that he wants Texans teaching Texans, and
- 12:35Speaker 2: we don't want to have some sort of beliefs getting
- 12:38Speaker 2: infused from places that are not Texas or not the
- 12:40Speaker 2: United States that are reshaping opinions of young people. We
- 12:45Speaker 2: just talked for a while about the idea of someone
- 12:48Speaker 2: fleeing from California, coming to Texas and then making a
- 12:51Speaker 2: terrible decision to still vote people into power that were
- 12:54Speaker 2: the people they ran away from. Like, still voting for
- 12:57Speaker 2: someone with a D in front of their name is
- 12:59Speaker 2: the dumbest thing I can possibly think of. This is
- 13:02Speaker 2: another version of that same way of thinking of what
- 13:05Speaker 2: I've often called in schools and doctrination. It's trying to
- 13:09Speaker 2: push certain belief systems on people, and I think this
- 13:12Speaker 2: is a great move by the governor. I do think
- 13:15Speaker 2: that some people are trying to shape it as racism
- 13:17Speaker 2: or something else, but it's simply a freeze for now.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Who knows what it'll be, but it's really just to
- 13:22Speaker 2: protect kids and make sure they learn Texas values. I'm
- 13:26Speaker 2: just going to ask you what you think of that
- 13:28Speaker 2: and why some people are saying it's wrong. I don't
- 13:31Speaker 2: really get that part.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Well, I think, you know, they haven't thought through it,
- 13:36Speaker 6: and maybe they haven't realized what's going on in our
- 13:38Speaker 6: schools and sure our colleges. And I heard that he
- 13:42Speaker 6: wants to take it, like you said, K through twelve.
- 13:45Speaker 6: The fact is, if there was one thing that we
- 13:48Speaker 6: learned in COVID is parents woke up to because they
- 13:53Speaker 6: were at home and their kids were at home and
- 13:55Speaker 6: they saw what they were being taught. The fact is
- 13:58Speaker 6: they're not being taught to be competitive in this world.
- 14:02Speaker 6: They're being taught and indoctrinated. So you've got that issue.
- 14:06Speaker 6: The other issue, you know, and I talk to these
- 14:08Speaker 6: young people who are who volunteer for the party. You know,
- 14:13Speaker 6: they've brought up. They get out of college, and they
- 14:15Speaker 6: said it's really hard for them to get a job
- 14:18Speaker 6: because they're going up against jobs are being given to
- 14:21Speaker 6: people that are not Americans. And you know first and
- 14:26Speaker 6: that's not right either. So we're educating our kids. We're
- 14:31Speaker 6: telling them, Oh, get a college education and you're going
- 14:34Speaker 6: to have a great life. And then they don't have
- 14:37Speaker 6: that opportunity because the job is being given over to
- 14:40Speaker 6: someone who's not an American. So it's a double whammy.
- 14:45Speaker 6: You're hitting the kids in the school with the indoctrination
- 14:48Speaker 6: and then they have trouble competing.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you're just getting hit all over the place. One
- 14:54Speaker 2: last thing that I want to ask you, Cindy. It's
- 14:55Speaker 2: kind of a wide ranging discussion, and thank you so much.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I know you're on your way somewhere and I've probably
- 14:59Speaker 2: taken too much of your time already. But James Tallerico
- 15:03Speaker 2: is going viral yet again, this time for defending Carmelo
- 15:07Speaker 2: Anthony and essentially saying that the Texas legal system does
- 15:11Speaker 2: not treat black people fairly. I know it's a fairly
- 15:15Speaker 2: you know, a controversial topic to say the least. I
- 15:18Speaker 2: have a very definitive opinion about it. But I wonder
- 15:21Speaker 2: if you could respond to what tall Ico has been
- 15:23Speaker 2: saying recently. He did this in New York in an
- 15:26Speaker 2: interview there where people in New York will probably believe
- 15:29Speaker 2: him much more than I think the average Texan believes
- 15:32Speaker 2: that this is true.
- 15:34Speaker 6: He's using it as a fundraising tool, you know, like
- 15:38Speaker 6: you said, doing it up in New York where the
- 15:41Speaker 6: liberal elites up there are like, oh, look at those Texans.
- 15:45Speaker 6: They're so out of touch. They're such hicks. Look they're races.
- 15:50Speaker 6: The reality is, you know, I think that you know,
- 15:57Speaker 6: it's it's obvious that you've got neighbor who for example
- 16:01Speaker 6: in Houston, you know where the black on black crime
- 16:05Speaker 6: is huge. But we shouldn't be using race as as
- 16:11Speaker 6: the card that get out of jail free card, or
- 16:15Speaker 6: it shouldn't be automatically what we fall to. I mean,
- 16:19Speaker 6: America is about opportunity and it really it comes down
- 16:22Speaker 6: to you. And this is what I taught my girls.
- 16:25Speaker 6: It's up to you. You know, if you mess up
- 16:29Speaker 6: your life, that's on you, doesn't matter what color you are.
- 16:33Speaker 6: I don't want to hear that, oh I didn't get
- 16:36Speaker 6: that job because I'm a girl. You know, it is
- 16:39Speaker 6: up to you you make at some point, it's not
- 16:42Speaker 6: your parents fault any longer. It's on your shoulders. So
- 16:45Speaker 6: if you screw up, it's on you.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Well, and don't use race.
- 16:48Speaker 6: I don't want to hear sex right.
- 16:50Speaker 2: You know what I love about hearing that, Cindy, and
- 16:52Speaker 2: I've been thinking about this a lot. Actually, this week,
- 16:54Speaker 2: I don't know if you know, a press release went
- 16:56Speaker 2: out Chris Salsato is leaving. His last week is this week?
- 16:59Speaker 2: It care We're very sad. Salcedo has been here for
- 17:02Speaker 2: fourteen years and he's leaving on his own. This wasn't
- 17:05Speaker 2: a choice we made. But I'm going to be part
- 17:07Speaker 2: of the brand new morning show team that's here in Houston,
- 17:11Speaker 2: and I'm thrilled about it. I'm happy about it. But
- 17:13Speaker 2: the point and the thing I'm getting to rush. Limbaugh
- 17:16Speaker 2: talked about the ups and downs of the radio industry,
- 17:18Speaker 2: and I've felt some of those myself and often. In
- 17:22Speaker 2: his book, he said that every time he was fired,
- 17:24Speaker 2: one of the most famous people ever to do this job,
- 17:27Speaker 2: that he did not give up. He did not make
- 17:30Speaker 2: an excuse. He just kept going. And so to your
- 17:33Speaker 2: point that you just said about your kids or how
- 17:35Speaker 2: people raise their families here in Texas, you go own
- 17:40Speaker 2: what you do in this society. You go fight for
- 17:43Speaker 2: the things you want, and if a door gets closed
- 17:45Speaker 2: in you, whether it's fair or not, you know, crying
- 17:49Speaker 2: and being upset about it. It doesn't get you any
- 17:51Speaker 2: closer to whatever it is you're chasing. You got to
- 17:53Speaker 2: get up and do it again, get up by the
- 17:54Speaker 2: bootstraps and keep going. And so I just think that
- 17:57Speaker 2: that's such an overwhelmingly positive thing to teach children and
- 18:01Speaker 2: something that a whole lot of people like Tall Rico
- 18:03Speaker 2: simply don't believe.
- 18:06Speaker 6: Well, I mean, I'm pretty old school on a craig
- 18:09Speaker 6: and I raised you know, Bob and I raised our
- 18:12Speaker 6: daughters the way we were raised. And I can remember
- 18:16Speaker 6: being in school my parents saying, you know, if you
- 18:19Speaker 6: got in trouble at school, you're going to be in
- 18:21Speaker 6: worse trouble at home. And it's not like they if
- 18:26Speaker 6: something was unfair that they wouldn't have been fighting for us.
- 18:30Speaker 6: But if we were just messing around or I mean,
- 18:33Speaker 6: I told my girls the same thing. I don't want
- 18:35Speaker 6: to hear that you blunt to tests and because you're like, oh,
- 18:40Speaker 6: that mean teacher, or I didn't have enough time to study,
- 18:44Speaker 6: It's like, no, you've got to step up and be accountable.
- 18:49Speaker 6: And unfortunately, I think, you know, and in fairness to
- 18:53Speaker 6: the parents, I think a lot of parents are you know,
- 18:55Speaker 6: they're both working. Some of them are working more than
- 18:58Speaker 6: one job. But you know, you've got to look to
- 19:01Speaker 6: your kids and you've got to tell them that, you know,
- 19:04Speaker 6: at some point it's personal responsibility. America is a great country,
- 19:10Speaker 6: and you really can become prison in the United States
- 19:13Speaker 6: or head of a fortune five hundred, you know, or
- 19:17Speaker 6: you can become a millionaire billionaire. But you can also
- 19:21Speaker 6: screw up and end up in jail or end up
- 19:24Speaker 6: you know what, or end up worse where you lose
- 19:27Speaker 6: your life because you were doing something crazy. But it
- 19:32Speaker 6: comes down to you personal accountability.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Yes, Cindy Siegel, you would probably also say that someone
- 19:37Speaker 2: out there, little boy, little girl, whoever could grow up
- 19:40Speaker 2: and become the Harris County Chair, the Republican Canada Chair.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Someday they can do that. They can host a radio
- 19:45Speaker 2: show at KCV, they can do all that. Go ahead.
- 19:49Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, Craig, I'm a farm grove from northwest Kansas,
- 19:53Speaker 6: so I can tell you, yeah, it was never It
- 19:56Speaker 6: wasn't that I was sitting on, you know, in the
- 19:58Speaker 6: farm going I want to grow up and be, you know,
- 20:02Speaker 6: chairman of the Harris County Republican Party. But you do
- 20:04Speaker 6: things because they're right. You do things because it makes
- 20:08Speaker 6: a difference. You do things to give back to the community.
- 20:11Speaker 6: That's why I'm doing this. That's why you're doing what
- 20:13Speaker 6: you're doing. Awesome, you know this is a great country. Yes,
- 20:17Speaker 6: I think people need to not forget that.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Thank you so much, Cindy. Always a pleasure to talk
- 20:22Speaker 2: to you, and thank you to give us some more
- 20:23Speaker 2: information about this crazy, crazy attempt by Democrats to raise
- 20:26Speaker 2: taxes even higher on people at an absolutely awful time.
- 20:29Speaker 2: We'll talk to again soon. Well, okay, yeah.
- 20:32Speaker 6: I'm going to be down there on September eighth. I
- 20:34Speaker 6: hope you will enjoy being awesome.
- 20:36Speaker 2: All right, we'll see you then. Thanks so much.
- 20:38Speaker 6: Okay, Bi Greg.
- 20:40Speaker 2: That is Cindy Siegel, as she said, the Harris County
- 20:43Speaker 2: GOP chair, and she's gonna be around so people go
- 20:46Speaker 2: out get to see her all that stuff. And I
- 20:48Speaker 2: love that she said that she's just a farm girl
- 20:51Speaker 2: that has, you know, done good things. And I don't
- 20:53Speaker 2: mean to I think that came out a little bit
- 20:55Speaker 2: weird how I said that about myself too. I get
- 20:58Speaker 2: on me to brag. I'm just I'm very happy that
- 21:00Speaker 2: I'm going to get to get an opportunity to be
- 21:03Speaker 2: the morning show host, one of two morning show hosts
- 21:05Speaker 2: with Wayne del Trafino, the Legend starting next week. Anyone
- 21:09Speaker 2: who doesn't know that, just quickly, this show will revert
- 21:13Speaker 2: back to being Joe Paggs for the extra hour from
- 21:16Speaker 2: six to seven o'clock starting on Monday, and I will
- 21:19Speaker 2: be in mornings with Russell and with Wayne on the
- 21:23Speaker 2: Monday morning to start a brand new show, KSV Mornings
- 21:26Speaker 2: with Creig Collins and Wayne Deltrafino. Now we're working on
- 21:29Speaker 2: the name. It's a little long as it is, but
- 21:31Speaker 2: we like it. But yes, that'll be happening very soon. Okay,
- 21:34Speaker 2: we're going to take a break. After this first break,
- 21:36Speaker 2: we're going to come back and we're going to talk
- 21:38Speaker 2: about many, many things that I think are a huge
- 21:41Speaker 2: deal here in Texas that for some reason, are now
- 21:45Speaker 2: getting national attention to because a lot of people are
- 21:48Speaker 2: focused on our Senate race. And as you heard Cindy
- 21:51Speaker 2: and I talk about, Tall Rico did another interview with
- 21:54Speaker 2: the Breakfast Club. He did some other interviews some other places,
- 21:57Speaker 2: and he's just saying the craziest stuff and he's doing
- 22:00Speaker 2: it to raise money outside of Texas to help his
- 22:04Speaker 2: Texas Senate campaign because he wants to upend the values
- 22:07Speaker 2: of our state. He wants to not represent anything that
- 22:11Speaker 2: Texans believe in, and we need to stop him. But
- 22:14Speaker 2: quick break, A lot coming up is the Craig Collins
- 22:16Speaker 2: Show KSV, The Voice of Texas. This is the Craig
- 22:19Speaker 2: Collins Show KSCV, The Voice of Texas. Sorry about that
- 22:23Speaker 2: slight pause before we got to the rest of the
- 22:25Speaker 2: commercials that were playing during that break. It's the weirdest thing.
- 22:28Speaker 2: We were playing commercials before speaking to Cindy Segual and
- 22:32Speaker 2: thank you to Cindy for coming on the show. In
- 22:34Speaker 2: the room, I'm not in the room next to me,
- 22:37Speaker 2: you can turn off the position on the board where
- 22:40Speaker 2: the commercials play from, and for some reason that happened,
- 22:42Speaker 2: so I went in there and had to turn it
- 22:43Speaker 2: back on. I'm sorry for that delay. I think we
- 22:46Speaker 2: might have removed it for radio people radio listeners. So
- 22:49Speaker 2: if I'm saying something you don't even understand, it's really
- 22:51Speaker 2: just the Internet people that have to worry about that.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Let's get to Carlos, who called in during the break
- 22:56Speaker 2: as I was fixing stuff. Carlos, how you doing, buddy?
- 23:00Speaker 7: I was just asking that because I wanted if it
- 23:01Speaker 7: is your movie. Like I said before, Yes, that's an
- 23:04Speaker 7: independent voter, believe it or not. You're the only conservative
- 23:07Speaker 7: radio station that I post that I call. I listened
- 23:10Speaker 7: to others.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Oh wow, But like.
- 23:12Speaker 7: I told you the last time, I haven't really liked
- 23:13Speaker 7: most of their style. I like yours. I think you're
- 23:16Speaker 7: you cool dude. And really, another thing, are you okay?
- 23:21Speaker 6: Thanks?
- 23:21Speaker 7: Are you worried about Paston losing because I believe it
- 23:25Speaker 7: or not, I am.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Yes, I'm I'm worried about it.
- 23:27Speaker 7: You I'm an independent voter, and I am so worried
- 23:29Speaker 7: that I'm I'm cutting a.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Couple things, Carlos, real quick. First, you're very kind to
- 23:34Speaker 2: ask about any sort of you know, programming changes here.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I am moving into the mornings. Russell will be producing
- 23:39Speaker 2: the morning. So we have an amazing producer that's going
- 23:42Speaker 2: to be with us, that's been here and he's also
- 23:44Speaker 2: the program director of the radio station, but been here forever,
- 23:47Speaker 2: worked with Salsado for all fourteen years of his career.
- 23:51Speaker 2: And you asked me off air if it's the same
- 23:53Speaker 2: phone number, it is, and Russell answers it, I'll get
- 23:55Speaker 2: you on the air. You can call in and be
- 23:57Speaker 2: a part of it. It's from seven to nine o'clock
- 23:59Speaker 2: every morning on KSV starting on Monday. Wayne Delchafino is
- 24:03Speaker 2: the named a co contributor, co host, whatever we want
- 24:07Speaker 2: to call him. He won't be there every day. He's
- 24:09Speaker 2: very busy, but he'll be there a lot, so you'll
- 24:11Speaker 2: be able to reach us and talk to us. Now
- 24:13Speaker 2: to get to your other thing about Paxton, Cornyn Paxton
- 24:18Speaker 2: and Tall Rico, I'm becoming more and more concerned, and
- 24:22Speaker 2: I think there's a I think there's two things at play, Carlos,
- 24:24Speaker 2: and then I want your opinion of what's going on.
- 24:27Speaker 2: The two things I think that are at play are First,
- 24:30Speaker 2: there are a lot of conservative Texans who believe tall
- 24:33Speaker 2: Rico is crazy. These are well informed voters who are
- 24:36Speaker 2: probably planning not to vote because they think that tall
- 24:40Speaker 2: Rico can't win and that would be horrible. The people
- 24:43Speaker 2: who are well informed, who know what we face, need
- 24:47Speaker 2: to do their part and show up and vote, you
- 24:49Speaker 2: and I everybody to prevent someone who's insane and doesn't
- 24:54Speaker 2: represent Texas at all from getting a power position within
- 24:56Speaker 2: the state. That's one group. There is another group of
- 24:59Speaker 2: people though, and I've heard a lot of conservatives talk
- 25:02Speaker 2: about them, whether this is an independent who's uninformed, or
- 25:06Speaker 2: maybe even a conservative who's upset for whatever reason they
- 25:09Speaker 2: might be upset, who are also planning on not voting
- 25:12Speaker 2: or potentially voting for Tall Rico and those people. The
- 25:15Speaker 2: best thing we can do is try to inform them more,
- 25:19Speaker 2: try to get all of the crazy things that tall
- 25:21Speaker 2: Rico has said into their ears and into their brains
- 25:25Speaker 2: so they know what they're doing. Because I think that
- 25:28Speaker 2: they're taking advantage of the uninformed and taking advantage of
- 25:30Speaker 2: some of the angry people that might be out there.
- 25:33Speaker 2: And then finally also a lot of people who just
- 25:35Speaker 2: believe he can't win. And you and I know better.
- 25:38Speaker 2: What do you want to say about it?
- 25:40Speaker 7: Yeah? I was wondering because another reason is because I
- 25:43Speaker 7: cannot get on YouTube without getting ads from Teller Rico,
- 25:48Speaker 7: and I don't get anything. Like I said, I'm not
- 25:50Speaker 7: a pac Stun fan, but I know, I mean, it's
- 25:53Speaker 7: an obvious choice, right, Yeah, But why aren't they not
- 25:56Speaker 7: spending money? I see a lot of commercials, Like I said,
- 25:58Speaker 7: on YouTube, I used YouTube often. I can go watching
- 26:02Speaker 7: one video with our games at least one tall Rico
- 26:05Speaker 7: commercial on it, and I don't see any Paxton.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Yeah no, I know, Well they're not. They're saying they
- 26:11Speaker 2: don't have money. I don't know if you've I mean,
- 26:13Speaker 2: they're not saying they don't have money. I should I
- 26:14Speaker 2: should rephrase that Paxton does have money. But I think
- 26:18Speaker 2: that strategically right now they are waiting till closer to
- 26:20Speaker 2: the actual November election to spend that money because they
- 26:24Speaker 2: don't have enough to spend now. And that is something
- 26:27Speaker 2: that the amigos who will be on tomorrow have talked
- 26:30Speaker 2: about a lot as a horrible decision. I think Senator
- 26:32Speaker 2: Bettencourt has said it best. You need to have most
- 26:35Speaker 2: people informed enough to where their opinion is made by
- 26:39Speaker 2: Labor Day. It shouldn't be something that you're waiting until
- 26:41Speaker 2: October to drop the hammer, because that is too late.
- 26:45Speaker 2: A lot of people will not be reachable if you
- 26:47Speaker 2: wait that late into it. And I think the only
- 26:49Speaker 2: reason the Paxton team is not blanketing ads now is
- 26:53Speaker 2: they're trying to be strategic with the money they do have,
- 26:56Speaker 2: and that's bad. We need to raise more. They need
- 26:59Speaker 2: to raise more, so that is not a component to
- 27:02Speaker 2: any sort of you know, marketing campaign for his for
- 27:06Speaker 2: his campaign, and I just I don't understand part of
- 27:11Speaker 2: that either. Is there anything else you want to say, Carlos.
- 27:14Speaker 7: No, Like I said, man, I just hope he doesn't
- 27:17Speaker 7: win that in that case, because this is amen. Ah,
- 27:20Speaker 7: that'll be a shame. That'll be a shame for Texas because,
- 27:22Speaker 7: like he said, I raised my kids. Like I told you,
- 27:24Speaker 7: I wasn't born here, but I love this state, I
- 27:26Speaker 7: love this country, and I raised my kids. Like I'm
- 27:29Speaker 7: not joking, Texas first, us second, and then the rest
- 27:32Speaker 7: of the world. So that's so they take this to
- 27:35Speaker 7: the bones, you know what I mean. I love that
- 27:38Speaker 7: and that guy is definitely not.
- 27:39Speaker 2: He's definitely not well. Thank you very much for the call.
- 27:41Speaker 7: Butud okay, thank you taculator.
- 27:43Speaker 2: We got one more call coming in and then I
- 27:44Speaker 2: do want to play some Tellerico audio I have. And
- 27:47Speaker 2: there might be some radio issues that are no fault
- 27:50Speaker 2: of mine. I was told that we might have some
- 27:52Speaker 2: upgrade things that are happening. So if you are listening
- 27:55Speaker 2: on the radio right now, you might not be able
- 27:57Speaker 2: to in about four or five minutes, So switch over
- 27:59Speaker 2: to the app, switch over to any of the streaming
- 28:02Speaker 2: platforms to pick me up. If you are on a
- 28:04Speaker 2: radio and you don't have any of those, it's fun
- 28:07Speaker 2: to try them out. Just see what you can do.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Because we are upgrading hopefully some of our signal capacity,
- 28:12Speaker 2: which is very exciting but not ideal as far as
- 28:15Speaker 2: timing goes. Let's get to this caller. Call her, what's
- 28:17Speaker 2: your name? Are you there? I've just put another caller
- 28:22Speaker 2: on the air. I can't I don't know who you are.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Go ahead and speak if you're there. If not, okay,
- 28:27Speaker 2: we're gonna let you go. You can go all back
- 28:29Speaker 2: in if someone was just on the air and didn't
- 28:30Speaker 2: know it. I can't answer these calls off the air.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I can only do it on the air. I do
- 28:35Speaker 2: have a lot of Texas audio I want to play,
- 28:38Speaker 2: so we'll get to that and then we'll probably take
- 28:40Speaker 2: another break. But first, this is tall Rico. He is
- 28:43Speaker 2: talking about mutilating children. That's the way that I describe it.
- 28:47Speaker 2: That's the way that many people describe it, not the
- 28:48Speaker 2: way he talks about it. Of course, he said this,
- 28:51Speaker 2: I think this morning on a podcast, one of many
- 28:55Speaker 2: disqualifying things that he believes.
- 28:56Speaker 8: Here we go anti LGBTQ legislation, including the bill that
- 29:01Speaker 8: would have denied gender affirming health care to trans children.
- 29:05Speaker 8: And then of course, famously, infamously we saw it last
- 29:09Speaker 8: session with the most extreme abortion ban in the country.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Ridiculous.
- 29:13Speaker 8: All of these, all these ideologies stem from this, this
- 29:19Speaker 8: chrysto fascism.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Yeah, crysto fascism. He's really calling Texas and Texas policy
- 29:25Speaker 2: decisions a chrysto fascism. He's attacking religion here. He is
- 29:30Speaker 2: also talking about Carmelo Anthetexas.
- 29:31Speaker 8: We see what with Carmelo Anthony, And you said it
- 29:33Speaker 8: was a tragedy. Yeah, what did you mean by that? Well,
- 29:36Speaker 8: I've done a lot of work in the state House
- 29:38Speaker 8: on justice reform, and right now we've got a system
- 29:41Speaker 8: that doesn't serve all Americans equally, and we know that
- 29:45Speaker 8: black Texans have been have not gotten the justice they
- 29:49Speaker 8: deserve in many cases. And you know, I'm not an
- 29:53Speaker 8: expert on this particular case, but I know that there
- 29:55Speaker 8: were no black members of the jury. And to me,
- 29:58Speaker 8: that's that's the only evidence you need to really prove
- 30:03Speaker 8: that the system is not working.
- 30:04Speaker 2: That is insane to say out loud, by the way
- 30:07Speaker 2: that he says, the only proof you need that our
- 30:10Speaker 2: system isn't working is that there were no Black Texans
- 30:12Speaker 2: on a jury that convicted a black person of murder.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Because to me, the more important thing is all the
- 30:20Speaker 2: facts that came up in the court all the things
- 30:22Speaker 2: that all the kids who came forward, black kids, white kids,
- 30:26Speaker 2: all manner of children that are teenagers that were part
- 30:30Speaker 2: of that case that admitted that what happened was murder.
- 30:34Speaker 2: None of them said that what happened was Anthony defending
- 30:37Speaker 2: himself in a way where he should have even remotely
- 30:40Speaker 2: thought that his life was in danger. I believe one
- 30:43Speaker 2: of the things that prosecution kept saying in that courtroom
- 30:45Speaker 2: is you cannot respond from a push with a knife
- 30:49Speaker 2: to the heart. You can't stab somebody, murder somebody if
- 30:53Speaker 2: you are pushed, if you are shoved, that's inappropriate. And
- 30:56Speaker 2: I obviously believe that. Let's try to get to the
- 30:57Speaker 2: other call if they're there a caller, what's your name?
- 31:01Speaker 3: I guess this is me?
- 31:02Speaker 2: Hello, Yes, hey, Rusty, that is you. Yes, how are
- 31:05Speaker 2: you doing, buddy?
- 31:07Speaker 3: I'm hanging in there, okay, okay, yeah. Mike Johnson said
- 31:11Speaker 3: today he remarked the economy was going great in the
- 31:15Speaker 3: first quarter, and then kind of caught himself and all
- 31:19Speaker 3: of a sudden he realized then the Iran War started.
- 31:24Speaker 3: So the only way, I mean.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Here's here's what's fun. I'm a fan, Here's what's fun.
- 31:30Speaker 2: I like this a lot, rusty. I'm not talking about
- 31:33Speaker 2: any of that, not that I'm unwilling to talk about it.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I'm willing to talk about what you've decided to call
- 31:38Speaker 2: him and talk about. But I love that. Like your
- 31:41Speaker 2: call today is you trying to find a topic where
- 31:44Speaker 2: you think Republicans are doing poorly and Democrats are doing well,
- 31:47Speaker 2: and you just want to shift our conversation to whatever
- 31:50Speaker 2: that discussion is. It's it's almost I like you, you're
- 31:53Speaker 2: a nice guy, but it's almost disrespectful in the sense
- 31:56Speaker 2: that you don't give a crap what I'm talking about.
- 31:58Speaker 2: I'm talking about carmelo Ant and I'm talking about something
- 32:02Speaker 2: you know different. You just are like, Hey, I'm going
- 32:04Speaker 2: to call and talk about whatever I want. I enjoy that.
- 32:07Speaker 2: I'm amused by that. But one more time, tell me
- 32:10Speaker 2: why you think that the right discussion to have right now?
- 32:14Speaker 2: Is that the Speaker of the House to you highlighted
- 32:19Speaker 2: the economy, and then wanted to backtrack on did.
- 32:23Speaker 3: I understand you.
- 32:26Speaker 2: I understand you correctly that what you've called in to
- 32:28Speaker 2: talk about is the Speaker of the House saying something
- 32:31Speaker 2: good about the economy and then in your opinion, trying
- 32:33Speaker 2: to take it back. Is that what the conversation is?
- 32:38Speaker 3: Well, but then he said, you know, the Trump Trump
- 32:43Speaker 3: the machine was going great, and feel the Iran war.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Okay, so he kind of.
- 32:48Speaker 3: He kind of caught. It was a awkward moment, Okay.
- 32:51Speaker 3: But I've got views that the only way to get
- 32:54Speaker 3: out of this inflation cycle is to have a recession.
- 32:58Speaker 3: You know. It looks like what needs to happen is
- 33:02Speaker 3: the big OAI bubble to burst.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Yeah. So here's the thing. I'm going to say something
- 33:08Speaker 2: because I'm looking for the quote that you're talking about,
- 33:11Speaker 2: because you called in and you're deciding what we talk about.
- 33:13Speaker 2: So I got to allow now look up Mike Johnson.
- 33:15Speaker 2: I got to find where he's talking about the Iran war.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I got to try to play it and then address
- 33:19Speaker 2: whatever the thing is you're talking about. But I would say,
- 33:22Speaker 2: because I don't think that it's a faux paw if
- 33:25Speaker 2: he even mentioned that the Iran war has been a
- 33:27Speaker 2: huge impact on the economy because I think we're fighting
- 33:31Speaker 2: it for the right reasons. So the difference between the
- 33:33Speaker 2: two of us Rusty is that if you hear Mike
- 33:37Speaker 2: Johnson or anyone else blame the current conflict as the
- 33:41Speaker 2: reason that gas prices are higher than we would have
- 33:43Speaker 2: wanted them to be, you also hear a fight that
- 33:46Speaker 2: we shouldn't have fought, and I just don't hear.
- 33:48Speaker 6: That, right.
- 33:49Speaker 2: I believe that this is a fight we should have fought,
- 33:51Speaker 2: and I am willing to pay higher gas prices in
- 33:54Speaker 2: order to root out terrorism, which I know you don't
- 33:57Speaker 2: think is what we're fighting, but I think that's what
- 33:59Speaker 2: we're fighting. I think that Ron is the here I'll
- 34:02Speaker 2: put you on hold. I think Iran is the largest
- 34:05Speaker 2: funding organization in the world that gives money to all
- 34:08Speaker 2: kinds of terrorists all over the place, and I think
- 34:11Speaker 2: that fighting them something that many many US leaders, many
- 34:15Speaker 2: presidents Democrat and Republicans, said we should do but didn't do.
- 34:18Speaker 2: I think it was important fight. So I don't think
- 34:21Speaker 2: that Mike Johnson is actually trying to take back a whoopsie,
- 34:26Speaker 2: as Rusty does in referencing that the Iran War might
- 34:30Speaker 2: be the reason that gas prices or are economic. You know,
- 34:34Speaker 2: things are not as good as they used to be. Although, unfortunately,
- 34:38Speaker 2: I understand the political point that Rusty is making because
- 34:42Speaker 2: that is the way that Democrats are shaping the argument.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Democrats are trying to convince Americans that we never should
- 34:47Speaker 2: have fought this war, even though other people thought we
- 34:50Speaker 2: should have fought it, because Trump is in charge, and
- 34:53Speaker 2: because even when Trump does something that if a Democrat
- 34:56Speaker 2: had done it, most people would applaud it. Rusty on
- 34:59Speaker 2: hold right now, I'll put him back on the air
- 35:00Speaker 2: in a second. If this were a Biden decision, an
- 35:03Speaker 2: Obama decision, anyone that he profoundly agrees with, he would
- 35:07Speaker 2: have loved it, especially when mainstream media told him over
- 35:11Speaker 2: and over again that what happened was fighting terrorism. If
- 35:15Speaker 2: they had said that out loud, and if the Democrats
- 35:17Speaker 2: were the ones causing the fight, we'd all willingly pay
- 35:20Speaker 2: higher gas prices because that happened. And guess what Obama
- 35:24Speaker 2: wasn't even Obama. Biden wasn't even fighting a gas price,
- 35:28Speaker 2: or excuse me, he wasn't even fighting the Iran war.
- 35:31Speaker 2: He was fighting oil and gas industries and Democrats seemed
- 35:35Speaker 2: totally fine with the amount of money we were paying
- 35:37Speaker 2: for higher gas than Rusty. Back on the air now,
- 35:40Speaker 2: talking about the discussion that you seem to want to
- 35:42Speaker 2: talk about. What do you think of my belief that
- 35:46Speaker 2: if it were a Democrat in office fighting this fight,
- 35:48Speaker 2: you'd be much happier about it.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Well, Biden, remember when Joe Biden had the soft landing,
- 35:57Speaker 3: all the economists said, there's no way to to slow
- 36:00Speaker 3: the economy down unless you have a recession.
- 36:05Speaker 2: I'm sorry, you have gonna let you go. I just
- 36:07Speaker 2: genuinely found that so funny. I don't think that Biden
- 36:10Speaker 2: had a soft landing. I think that when you crash
- 36:13Speaker 2: a car into a brick wall, and then you eventually
- 36:15Speaker 2: get out of that brick wall and start to walk around,
- 36:18Speaker 2: but like you're real screwed up and the car is destroyed,
- 36:21Speaker 2: and then eventually things start to go back down. And
- 36:23Speaker 2: mostly it's because Trump also gets back in office that
- 36:25Speaker 2: things were turned to normal at all. All of that stuff,
- 36:29Speaker 2: all of those occurrences, I don't usually call them a
- 36:31Speaker 2: soft landing. If I were in a plane and Biden
- 36:34Speaker 2: had been the pilot and it crashed and like threw
- 36:37Speaker 2: me out and all of my limbs were broken, but
- 36:40Speaker 2: I was still alive. I wouldn't think that that's a
- 36:43Speaker 2: soft landing. But that's just me, but rusty, I think,
- 36:46Speaker 2: very much, deeply proved. My point is that if his
- 36:48Speaker 2: guy's in charge, he's totally fine with anything, even the horrible,
- 36:52Speaker 2: terrible gas prices that were bad, And if the other
- 36:54Speaker 2: team's in charge, he absolutely thinks everything is awful and terrible. Again,
- 36:59Speaker 2: I don't even think you know, I'm gonna say something
- 37:01Speaker 2: that Salcedo would say a lot. You don't have to
- 37:03Speaker 2: make a decision based on Republican a Democrat. You don't.
- 37:06Speaker 2: You don't have to walk around as a lot of
- 37:08Speaker 2: people do out there. And I assume a lot of
- 37:10Speaker 2: people who listen to the station aren't in this group.
- 37:13Speaker 2: But you don't have to just wander around and say
- 37:14Speaker 2: to yourself, oh, Democrats good and Republicans bad all the time,
- 37:20Speaker 2: or even vice versa. You should use your brain and
- 37:23Speaker 2: say to yourself, does this thing? Does that thing make sense?
- 37:26Speaker 2: And I know I'm preaching to the choir when I
- 37:28Speaker 2: say this, because by and large, a whole lot of
- 37:30Speaker 2: people use their brain all the time when they talk
- 37:33Speaker 2: about these topics and what is or isn't acceptable as
- 37:36Speaker 2: far as you and I and the American people and
- 37:39Speaker 2: all the craziness. The Talarico I have more, tall Rico.
- 37:41Speaker 2: I don't want to lose it. So, you know what,
- 37:43Speaker 2: I think we're fine. I think we've played all the
- 37:45Speaker 2: commercials we need to play. We're gonna barrel through so
- 37:48Speaker 2: we get all the rest of this audio on the show,
- 37:51Speaker 2: at least on whatever version of the show we're doing
- 37:52Speaker 2: right now. There's an Unearth clip of James tall Rico
- 37:56Speaker 2: where he's talking about going after oil and gas. So
- 37:59Speaker 2: if you want your gas price is to be higher,
- 38:02Speaker 2: and you support Democrats and not Republicans, then the problem
- 38:06Speaker 2: is if your gas prices do stay as high as
- 38:09Speaker 2: they've been recently, even though they are going back down,
- 38:12Speaker 2: even though that's been good, and they might go down
- 38:14Speaker 2: even more, then you're supporting people just fighting oil and gas,
- 38:19Speaker 2: especially here in Texas, and not actually fighting say terrorism.
- 38:23Speaker 2: If I have to pick between the two, I'm always
- 38:25Speaker 2: going to pick my gas money is spent on fighting terrorism,
- 38:29Speaker 2: not people who are trying to make gas cheaper. That
- 38:33Speaker 2: just seems silly. Here's tall Rico Unearth clipped he looks
- 38:36Speaker 2: much younger. Kind of a bad video of him saying
- 38:40Speaker 2: how he was encouraging city council to divest from a
- 38:45Speaker 2: power project and how much he seems to hate oil
- 38:48Speaker 2: and gas companies, which seems to be a bad take
- 38:51Speaker 2: in Texas.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I'm Jimmy Tellery Goes. I'm a university wide representative with
- 38:56Speaker 1: the student government at the University of Texas at Austin.
- 39:00Speaker 1: We passed on Tuesday night ar AT, which is a
- 39:04Speaker 1: resolution and supporting the City of Aust's efforts to invest
- 39:07Speaker 1: in the Fan car project. It was a great success
- 39:10Speaker 1: for environmentalists on campus, students and all these students who
- 39:14Speaker 1: want to pay less with their energy bills and you
- 39:16Speaker 1: want the sustainable economy and a green collar economy.
- 39:20Speaker 2: I love how stupid that is. By the way, I
- 39:22Speaker 2: know that's a very young, college aged tall ico celebrating
- 39:26Speaker 2: divesting from the Fayette Power Project, but I love how
- 39:30Speaker 2: he says, as they go after oil and gas, even
- 39:32Speaker 2: at that level, that it's somehow going to make things
- 39:34Speaker 2: affordable and cheaper and better for everybody. Because that's not
- 39:37Speaker 2: how that works. That's not how things happen. All right.
- 39:41Speaker 2: One other piece of audio I do want to play
- 39:44Speaker 2: and wow a couple because I screw it. We usually
- 39:47Speaker 2: do fun stuff. We're not going to have time today
- 39:49Speaker 2: to do fun stuff. The Fastest Hour and Radio Greg
- 39:53Speaker 2: Abbott was on Fox. He talked about a couple things.
- 39:57Speaker 2: One a request from Minnesota and there Jtorney General to
- 40:01Speaker 2: extradite an ICE agent to be put on trial. There
- 40:05Speaker 2: An Abbott, very much as he is capable of doing,
- 40:08Speaker 2: has said no to this because of the political ridiculousness
- 40:11Speaker 2: of it. Here we go, So listen.
- 40:13Speaker 4: When you go through the extradition process, the governor has
- 40:16Speaker 4: the authority to consider four factors, three of which are
- 40:20Speaker 4: pretty much just pro form a paperwork.
- 40:22Speaker 2: The fourth of which, however.
- 40:24Speaker 4: Is whether or not the person being sought to be
- 40:26Speaker 4: extradited is a fugitive. And there are certain facts that
- 40:30Speaker 4: you look at to determine whether or not that person
- 40:33Speaker 4: is or is not a fugative. And so that is
- 40:35Speaker 4: a fact finding decision by the governor. In this case
- 40:39Speaker 4: myself that I've assigned to be investigated. That investigation is
- 40:43Speaker 4: taking place right now. Based upon that investigation, I'll be
- 40:46Speaker 4: more informed about what decision to make.
- 40:49Speaker 9: Well, what you just heard from Keith Elson's there. He said,
- 40:52Speaker 9: your refusal to extradite castros on constitutional. He says it
- 40:55Speaker 9: violates federal law and Texas law. He says he's not
- 40:58Speaker 9: going to stand for He's taking you to court. What's
- 41:01Speaker 9: your message back to Ellison?
- 41:05Speaker 4: Well, first thing to Ellison is Elson has no credibility.
- 41:08Speaker 4: He is in a state that may be the national
- 41:12Speaker 4: leader in committing fraud against the United States of America
- 41:16Speaker 4: and against American taxpayers. Now, Minnesota's being investigated for about
- 41:22Speaker 4: nine billion dollars in fraud in their medicaid system and
- 41:25Speaker 4: other federal programs. And so they are the last people
- 41:28Speaker 4: to put any credibility on whatsoever. But more to the point,
- 41:32Speaker 4: go back to the point that I told you about
- 41:34Speaker 4: just before, and that is the fact decision the governor
- 41:38Speaker 4: has to make about whether or not the person being
- 41:41Speaker 4: sought to be extradited is or is not a fugitive.
- 41:43Speaker 4: He didn't say anything about that. He really doesn't know
- 41:45Speaker 4: what's going on about that. He's just talking without thinking
- 41:48Speaker 4: through all the elements of what a governor.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Now, he's not even doing that. I thank you to
- 41:52Speaker 2: the governor there who's I'm just playing audio of them.
- 41:56Speaker 2: What other people do in other places, especially with this
- 41:58Speaker 2: attorney general is doing in Minnesota, is just trying to
- 42:02Speaker 2: get a political win at the cost of somebody's rights
- 42:05Speaker 2: and freedom. That's what they're doing. They're trying to get
- 42:07Speaker 2: political power, political wins, things that they can say to
- 42:10Speaker 2: their constituents, to their supporters. Look, I did this for you.
- 42:14Speaker 2: They're trying to, you know, essentially get someone's head. And
- 42:18Speaker 2: it's crazy and I'm glad that Abbott is fighting it.
- 42:20Speaker 2: There's also this about the schools. I thought this was
- 42:23Speaker 2: pretty good and I do think that in Cindy Siegel
- 42:26Speaker 2: talked about this a little bit earlier when she was
- 42:28Speaker 2: on the show. This is essentially a good thing because
- 42:30Speaker 2: you don't want people to be taught beliefs that are
- 42:33Speaker 2: not American, that are not Texas beliefs, and we are
- 42:36Speaker 2: seeing that happen in schools. Often times, when the left
- 42:40Speaker 2: says that something is inspired by racism or sexism or anything,
- 42:44Speaker 2: the thing they always ignore is what's actually occurring, Like
- 42:47Speaker 2: the facts of this is happening, and so it's irrelevant
- 42:51Speaker 2: who people are, what they look like. It's actually more
- 42:54Speaker 2: about the thing that is occurring that we want to
- 42:57Speaker 2: have stop occurring, and we're trying to come up with
- 42:59Speaker 2: a salution should do a problem. They claim there's no problem,
- 43:03Speaker 2: so the solution has to be racist. But here we go.
- 43:05Speaker 4: So currently I have a freeze in place for universities
- 43:09Speaker 4: that can hire no new H one B visa employees.
- 43:12Speaker 2: And what you're talking about is why what.
- 43:13Speaker 4: I announced earlier this week, and that is to put
- 43:16Speaker 4: a ban on K through twelve schools in the state
- 43:19Speaker 4: of Texas from using H one B visas teachers. We
- 43:23Speaker 4: don't need people who need H one B visas educating
- 43:26Speaker 4: our kids, and I think it's absurd that they exist
- 43:29Speaker 4: in the first place. Let me be clear to every
- 43:32Speaker 4: one of the audience. It's only the federal government that
- 43:34Speaker 4: authorizes H one B visas, and so the states don't
- 43:37Speaker 4: have control of that. What we have control over is
- 43:39Speaker 4: denying the ability of any type of state government operation
- 43:43Speaker 4: from using those visas to hire teachers. And I'm saying
- 43:46Speaker 4: in Texas, we don't want our teachers to be holders
- 43:49Speaker 4: of H one B visas. We want them to be
- 43:51Speaker 4: Texans teaching Texans.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and they can look like anything. By the way,
- 43:55Speaker 2: because my wife is a Texan, my wife is an American,
- 43:59Speaker 2: and my wife was born in Mexico. She has a
- 44:01Speaker 2: legal right, a legal status here in this country. So hey,
- 44:04Speaker 2: go go teach people. Just make sure that you actually
- 44:07Speaker 2: value our country and our state first before you do that.
- 44:10Speaker 2: One last thing. I'm totally running out of time, and
- 44:13Speaker 2: I just have one more piece of audio relevant to
- 44:15Speaker 2: Texas that I want to play. This is Texas Democrat
- 44:18Speaker 2: Vincente Gonzales saying that he wants taxpayers to pay for
- 44:23Speaker 2: flights for legal aliens to whatever destination they want inside
- 44:27Speaker 2: the United States. This is also unearthed audio about ways
- 44:31Speaker 2: in which Democrats are trying to spend your money on
- 44:34Speaker 2: stuff you really don't want them to spend your money on.
- 44:36Speaker 5: As you may know, I've been pushing the Safe STOWNAC
- 44:39Speaker 5: which does just that. It creates zones in Guatemala and
- 44:43Speaker 5: Panama and Columbia and other countries where migrants can ask
- 44:47Speaker 5: for asylum at that juncture. And if they're going to
- 44:49Speaker 5: ultimately be let in under the credible first standard, which
- 44:52Speaker 5: we now use on the southern border, we should allow
- 44:55Speaker 5: them to fly to fly to their destination.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Yeah, whatever that destination is, we're gonna let them in
- 44:59Speaker 2: in a way they're not supposed to be let in
- 45:01Speaker 2: and then once they're here, let them fly wherever they want,
- 45:03Speaker 2: and we should pay for it. That's the pitch of
- 45:06Speaker 2: another Democrat here in Texas at the same time that
- 45:10Speaker 2: at the same time that Tall Rico is saying a
- 45:12Speaker 2: crazy amount of ridiculous stuff him, So like an insane
- 45:15Speaker 2: amount of crazy things out there going on, And I
- 45:19Speaker 2: just played three of them for you, and I'm powrified.
- 45:22Speaker 2: I really am, and I shouldn't be. And I know
- 45:24Speaker 2: there's only a few minutes left and the show's over
- 45:26Speaker 2: and we'll talk to again next time. But it is
- 45:29Speaker 2: becoming more and more to me a realistic fear to
- 45:34Speaker 2: say that Tall Rico could win this state. And I
- 45:37Speaker 2: want to end where I started. And Carlos did a
- 45:40Speaker 2: great job calling in today and bringing up this topic
- 45:42Speaker 2: with me. So this is truly what I believe to
- 45:45Speaker 2: be happening. There are two different Texans who right now
- 45:50Speaker 2: wield a lot of power, two different types of people
- 45:53Speaker 2: within this state that wield a lot of power in
- 45:55Speaker 2: making sure that the state makes the right decision and
- 45:58Speaker 2: not the wrong decision when it comes to our Senate race,
- 46:01Speaker 2: and even truthfully, a lot of local races as Cindy
- 46:03Speaker 2: was talking about here, Orlando Sanchez, one that definitely comes
- 46:06Speaker 2: to mind, But lots of them. Make a decision with
- 46:09Speaker 2: your brain and make sure that you're informed enough to
- 46:13Speaker 2: make that decision. Stop relying on a simplistic belief that
- 46:17Speaker 2: the right or the left, that Republican or Democrat is
- 46:21Speaker 2: all that matters, because it's not, and actually pay attention
- 46:24Speaker 2: to what does matter. And I wish that the people
- 46:27Speaker 2: that most needed to hear this message would listen to
- 46:29Speaker 2: a radio show like this one in a city like
- 46:32Speaker 2: this city. And they don't. A lot of them don't.
- 46:34Speaker 2: A lot of people close off any version of a
- 46:37Speaker 2: discussion about any of these topics because you have been convinced,
- 46:40Speaker 2: and not you listening to the show, because you obviously
- 46:43Speaker 2: are showing that you're not a part of this group.
- 46:45Speaker 2: But they have been convinced that I'm hateful, that I'm
- 46:48Speaker 2: racist and sexist and all these other things, and so
- 46:51Speaker 2: they turn off the speaker without even listening to the message,
- 46:56Speaker 2: much like they've done a myriad of other times with
- 46:58Speaker 2: the Hunter, Biden's laptop, if you name the thing. They
- 47:02Speaker 2: just try to run as far into the corner as
- 47:04Speaker 2: they can because they've been told I'm so hateful you
- 47:07Speaker 2: can't even listen. And then some of the people, the
- 47:09Speaker 2: radical people on the left, do something as horrific as
- 47:12Speaker 2: shoot and kill Charlie Kirk just for speaking, just for
- 47:15Speaker 2: saying that he disagrees with people, and using you know,
- 47:18Speaker 2: facts and information, data that he could conjure from his
- 47:21Speaker 2: own brain in front of a microphone and in front
- 47:24Speaker 2: of a crowd to tell them how the thing they
- 47:26Speaker 2: were saying was wrong. That's it, that's the whole show.
- 47:28Speaker 2: We have one show left as far as this timeslot goes.
- 47:31Speaker 2: We are on seven to nine starting on Monday, thrilled
- 47:35Speaker 2: to be doing it at the Voice of Texas KSV
- 47:38Speaker 2: seven hundred am. Talk to you tomorrow
- 47:42Speaker 4: HEM seven hundred KSV tom Ball, Houston, and streaming online
- 47:46Speaker 4: at ksvradio dot com.
