- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey dummy, if you get free roses, it's a trap.
- 0:05Speaker 1: War of the Roses starts right now on John Jay
- 0:08Speaker 1: and Rich.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Alright, we're getting ready for War of the Roses. Fabian,
- 0:10Speaker 2: what's up? You're on the air. What's your story? Who's
- 0:12Speaker 2: cheating on you?
- 0:12Speaker 3: Hey, so I feel kind of crazy when saying this,
- 0:16Speaker 3: but I'm starting to think that my wife is getting
- 0:20Speaker 3: something on the side. Every few nights she goes out
- 0:24Speaker 3: with her girlfriends, which that normally wouldn't bother me, but Lately,
- 0:29Speaker 3: there's this pattern where she comes home, she goes straight
- 0:32Speaker 3: to the shower, and then suddenly she's in the best mood.
- 0:36Speaker 3: And I'm telling you, my wife has been miserable for
- 0:39Speaker 3: the last full year, no lie. And I don't know,
- 0:43Speaker 3: we barely connect anymore. She's always irritated with me. But
- 0:48Speaker 3: for some reason, after these quote-unquote girls' nights, she's practically glowing.
- 0:54Speaker 3: And I hate that my mind is going there. And
- 0:59Speaker 3: I don't know if maybe I'm just being insecure, but
- 1:01Speaker 3: something just feels off. I think somebody else is putting
- 1:05Speaker 3: that pep in her step, if you know what I mean.
- 1:08Speaker 4: That makes me wonder, like, is there anything else that's
- 1:13Speaker 4: going on in your relationship that is shady? Like, is
- 1:15Speaker 4: she hiding her phone? Is she lying about where she's
- 1:19Speaker 4: at with her friends?
- 1:21Speaker 3: Nothing that I've noticed other than this, to be honest
- 1:25Speaker 3: with you. I don't really go.
- 1:28Speaker 5: I don't really pay attention.
- 1:29Speaker 3: To her phone, but, um, yeah, there's nothing else that
- 1:33Speaker 3: I can think of that I would consider shady or anything.
- 1:36Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:36Speaker 2: So you're saying she comes home and she goes and
- 1:39Speaker 2: washes that guy off and then she's all happy in
- 1:42Speaker 2: a good mood. That's what you're saying. She always comes
- 1:43Speaker 2: home and washes and jumps in the shower, right?
- 1:46Speaker 5: She goes straight to the shower.
- 1:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:48Speaker 2: So I'm like, and she's trying to like, You can't
- 1:52Speaker 2: smell his obsession, his Ralph Lauren, his Paul Gaultier.
- 1:57Speaker 8: It's kind of sad you jump right to that because, like,
- 2:00Speaker 8: there's other reasons you would want to shower. Like, are
- 2:02Speaker 8: her girls nights at a new yoga place? Like, is
- 2:04Speaker 8: she just sweaty? And you know when you work out
- 2:07Speaker 8: you have those endorphins, so that may explain why she's in.
- 2:10Speaker 4: A better mood. Like, you know?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Guys have female intuition, too, you know?
- 2:15Speaker 9: Okay.
- 2:16Speaker 4: I'm kind of with you, Kyle. I'm not discrediting. I'm
- 2:17Speaker 4: just saying, like.
- 2:18Speaker 8: Like Peyton said, you said there wasn't anything else.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Yeah, so to me, I'm like, sometimes you hang out
- 2:22Speaker 4: with your girlfriends and you need to wash off all
- 2:24Speaker 4: that bad energy and vibes that you're having for a day.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Every time. Every time she comes home, she gets in
- 2:29Speaker 2: the shower. Every time.
- 2:29Speaker 10: Who knows?
- 2:30Speaker 2: Who knows?
- 2:31Speaker 11: Are there more girls' nights than normal lately?
- 2:35Speaker 2: I would say so.
- 2:36Speaker 5: It's pretty regular.
- 2:37Speaker 12: I don't know.
- 2:38Speaker 13: Okay.
- 2:38Speaker 2: All right, let's call her. What's your wife's name?
- 2:40Speaker 10: Jenna.
- 2:40Speaker 2: All right, we're going to get Jenna on the phone
- 2:42Speaker 2: next and find out who she thinks is sending her flowers.
- 2:46Speaker 2: War of the Roses next with John T. and Rich.
- 2:48Speaker 14: For the john jay and rich but let's.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Be honest you stay for kyle and peyton it's john jay.
- 2:55Speaker 2: And rich we are in the middle of war of
- 2:58Speaker 2: the roses fabian thinks his wife jenna is cheating on
- 3:01Speaker 2: him because every time she comes home from a girl's
- 3:02Speaker 2: night boom she goes in the shower every time and
- 3:05Speaker 2: then she's like in a really good mood so he's
- 3:07Speaker 2: got reason to think that there's what you say there's
- 3:09Speaker 2: a guy something on the side she's getting something on
- 3:13Speaker 2: the side is what you said right fabian.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I'm thinking that's definitely a possibility.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:19Speaker 8: He said someone else is putting that pep in her step.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. It all depends how big is that pep.
- 3:24Speaker 2: That's a bummer.
- 3:26Speaker 14: Whoa, wow.
- 3:27Speaker 4: I really hope this is not the case for you.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Hello?
- 3:39Speaker 8: Hi, good morning. Is Jenna available?
- 3:42Speaker 11: Yes, this is she.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Perfect.
- 3:43Speaker 11: Hi, Jenna.
- 3:44Speaker 8: So my name is Sarah. I actually have some really
- 3:46Speaker 8: good news for you. You're like, what is this?
- 3:47Speaker 15: Sorry.
- 3:48Speaker 8: I'm with a new company. We're called J & R Flowers.
- 3:50Speaker 8: It's like my fourth day on the job. And like
- 3:54Speaker 8: I said, I do have good news for you, but
- 3:55Speaker 8: I kind of messed up a little bit. So I'm
- 3:58Speaker 8: hoping you can bear with me and help me out
- 4:00Speaker 8: so that you can be showered with love because somebody
- 4:04Speaker 8: wants to send you our most romantic bouquet of roses.
- 4:06Speaker 8: And I am so embarrassed because There's actually a couple
- 4:10Speaker 8: of these bouquets going out, and I want to make
- 4:12Speaker 8: sure you get the right card so you're not like,
- 4:15Speaker 8: who is this? So I'm just wondering, is there any
- 4:17Speaker 8: way you could confirm who would be sending you flowers
- 4:22Speaker 8: so I could get the right card to you?
- 4:24Speaker 12: Oh. Probably my husband, Fabian. I don't know.
- 4:31Speaker 16: Okay.
- 4:31Speaker 8: Anybody else?
- 4:33Speaker 3: Probably Jenna. What the hell is going on? Because I'm
- 4:36Speaker 3: sitting here.
- 4:37Speaker 16: I'm listening to you, and none.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Of this is making sense to me. You've been super
- 4:41Speaker 3: weird when you come home from your girls' nights.
- 4:43Speaker 16: Like, what is going on?
- 4:45Speaker 12: What is going on?
- 4:46Speaker 16: Fabian?
- 4:46Speaker 10: I'm sorry.
- 4:48Speaker 12: What is happening right now?
- 4:48Speaker 3: I'm trying to figure out what you're doing. Like, you
- 4:51Speaker 3: keep going out with your friends.
- 4:52Speaker 16: You come home late.
- 4:53Speaker 3: You jump in the shower immediately, and then suddenly you're
- 4:56Speaker 3: all happy and glowing. Like, you haven't acted like that
- 4:59Speaker 3: with me in months. You must be getting your happiness
- 5:03Speaker 3: from somewhere else, I'm assuming.
- 5:04Speaker 12: Wait, wait, wait, wait. Honey, you seriously, do you think
- 5:09Speaker 12: I'm cheating on you?
- 5:11Speaker 3: I don't know. That's why I'm here.
- 5:13Speaker 17: Like, you tell me.
- 5:15Speaker 3: What am I supposed to think?
- 5:16Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 5:17Speaker 12: Fabian, I'm going out with my girlfriend, and I have
- 5:22Speaker 12: a couple drinks, and then I laugh and dance with them,
- 5:26Speaker 12: and then I'm, I don't know, I'm feeling like myself again,
- 5:30Speaker 12: and they've, I don't know. Honey, they've honestly just brought
- 5:33Speaker 12: back some life into me, and so then I come home,
- 5:37Speaker 12: I take a shower, I take care of myself, and
- 5:40Speaker 12: then I go to sleep.
- 5:40Speaker 3: What do you mean, take care of yourself?
- 5:43Speaker 2: Hey, Jenna, Jenna, Jenna, you're on the radio right now.
- 5:46Speaker 2: You're on John Chain Rich, War of the Roses.
- 5:48Speaker 11: Oh, my God.
- 5:50Speaker 12: I'm sorry. Okay, I'm familiar with the show, but.
- 5:55Speaker 18: This is ridiculous.
- 5:56Speaker 12: I don't understand why you're so upset about this. You
- 6:00Speaker 12: barely kiss me anymore, let alone initiate it.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Anything.
- 6:05Speaker 12: And so, yeah, sometimes I have to handle my own
- 6:07Speaker 12: business so that I can get a little bit more sleep.
- 6:10Speaker 12: I mean, my God, what a shocker. I wake up
- 6:11Speaker 12: in a better mood.
- 6:13Speaker 19: Like what, what's the issue here?
- 6:15Speaker 3: That's low eating right there.
- 6:18Speaker 13: Low eating.
- 6:19Speaker 15: Okay.
- 6:20Speaker 12: You, you think that's, that's me cheating with who? With myself?
- 6:25Speaker 20: Do you have a husband?
- 6:26Speaker 3: Like, why are you doing this behind my back when
- 6:29Speaker 3: you literally have me? What do you do?
- 6:31Speaker 12: You cannot be serious right now. You thought I was
- 6:34Speaker 12: sleeping with another man, and then you find out that
- 6:38Speaker 12: the other person is me, and somehow I'm still cheating.
- 6:42Speaker 12: Somehow I'm cheating on you.
- 6:44Speaker 5: You were hiding from me.
- 6:47Speaker 12: I wasn't hiding anything. What do you want me to do?
- 6:51Speaker 12: Do you want me to send you a calendar invite? Because,
- 6:55Speaker 12: I mean, especially when you show zero interest in me,
- 6:58Speaker 12: so I don't know. I don't know what this is
- 7:01Speaker 12: all about at this point because none of.
- 7:03Speaker 20: This should be a shocker.
- 7:06Speaker 16: That's not the point.
- 7:08Speaker 12: That is the point. Instead of asking, oh, why is
- 7:12Speaker 12: my wife suddenly, you know, seeming happier, you bring me
- 7:15Speaker 12: on to a radio show to accuse me of cheating
- 7:19Speaker 12: because I take a shower when I go to bed
- 7:21Speaker 12: and then I'm in a good mood? I mean, Tabian,
- 7:25Speaker 12: get a grip. What the hell?
- 7:28Speaker 2: Let me jump in for a second. What she's saying
- 7:32Speaker 2: happens in the shower. Is that common, you guys?
- 7:35Speaker 4: It's wherever you want to do your business.
- 7:37Speaker 8: I'm sure some people do that.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Can you enlighten us? Is this relatable to any of
- 7:42Speaker 2: you in the studio, especially you, Kyle?
- 7:46Speaker 8: I mean, I think hanging out with your friends and
- 7:48Speaker 8: feeling like yourself again is very relatable.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I could understand. I mean, absolutely, Jenna. I am 100%
- 8:02Speaker 4: on your side. Fabian, I think you're probably feeling a
- 8:04Speaker 4: little insecure. That's not cheating, though. That's definitely not cheating.
- 8:08Speaker 4: This could be a great thing.
- 8:09Speaker 8: This could open up the communication.
- 8:11Speaker 11: For you, too. I mean, if you look at it
- 8:14Speaker 11: like this, you don't have to do anything, and she's
- 8:15Speaker 11: in a great mood.
- 8:18Speaker 4: He wants to be in the great mood, too. I mean,
- 8:19Speaker 4: I think, Kyle, you're exactly right. This is like a
- 8:21Speaker 4: perfect opportunity for the two of you guys to come
- 8:23Speaker 4: together to communicate and.
- 8:25Speaker 11: Get some loving back on. That's right. When she comes
- 8:29Speaker 11: in from the girls' night, you know it's on.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Hey, after she comes home from girls' night, just meet
- 8:33Speaker 4: her before the shower, and I'm sure you're fine.
- 8:35Speaker 3: I just don't feel good about this whole thing.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Come on, Fabian. No, she's not a guy. She thought
- 8:42Speaker 2: you were sending her the flowers. There's not another guy.
- 8:45Speaker 2: She's not cheating on you. I mean, you obviously have
- 8:47Speaker 2: to work on your relationship because she says you haven't
- 8:49Speaker 2: touched her in a long time. So she's having some
- 8:52Speaker 2: needs that you've got to meet. And, you know, you
- 8:55Speaker 2: have needs that she's got to meet. You guys got
- 8:56Speaker 2: to communicate. So this is actually a really good thing.
- 8:59Speaker 12: Yeah, well, and on top of that, to be honest,
- 9:04Speaker 12: You should stop this right now.
- 9:05Speaker 11: Get out of your head.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Like, seriously.
- 9:08Speaker 12: This whole thing is ridiculous. And quite frankly, like, maybe
- 9:11Speaker 12: you need to start thinking about yourself a little bit
- 9:14Speaker 12: more and not putting so much focus on me and
- 9:17Speaker 12: what's wrong with me. Because quite frankly, I'm out here
- 9:20Speaker 12: trying to do my thing. And you're the one that's
- 9:22Speaker 12: calling a radio show, making up all these stories in
- 9:25Speaker 12: your head. When you could have just talked to me
- 9:27Speaker 12: about it, we could have skipped this whole thing.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Yeah, communicate what I was saying. Thank you both for
- 9:32Speaker 2: going on the air with us. Thank you very much.
- 9:34Speaker 2: That is War of the Roses, you guys, with John
- 9:36Speaker 2: Jay and Rich.
- 9:37Speaker 14: Yeah, if that last segment offended you, I am really,
- 9:40Speaker 14: really sorry.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Please email our management at yourmom at iheartradio.yourmom.com.
- 9:48Speaker 14: It's John Jay and Rich.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Good morning, Tatum. You're on the air. How are you?
- 9:51Speaker 18: I'm good.
- 9:52Speaker 16: How are you?
- 9:53Speaker 2: I understand you have like a weird rule that you
- 9:55Speaker 2: want to share with us growing up.
- 9:57Speaker 13: I do.
- 9:58Speaker 18: So my parents had this really weird, weird rule that
- 10:02Speaker 18: nobody in our family was ever allowed to sleep in
- 10:04Speaker 18: the guest room, like ever. And I thought that was
- 10:07Speaker 18: super normal until I started having sleepovers at other people's houses.
- 10:10Speaker 18: And I realized people actually use their guest rooms and
- 10:14Speaker 18: sleep In our house, my parents said that room was
- 10:17Speaker 18: just for like emergencies only, which apparently meant if someone
- 10:20Speaker 18: died or got divorced or was between homes. And the
- 10:23Speaker 18: craziest part was we weren't even allowed to go in
- 10:25Speaker 18: there without permission.
- 10:27Speaker 16: My mom would keep, yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 18: She'd keep this bed perfectly made, curtains closed. And it
- 10:31Speaker 18: was kind of giving like a horror movie, not gonna lie.
- 10:35Speaker 18: And I finally asked her why we couldn't use it.
- 10:37Speaker 18: And she goes, because then it'll stop being a guest room.
- 10:42Speaker 18: And I was like, but mom, we are the guests.
- 10:45Speaker 16: We live here.
- 10:47Speaker 12: That's so funny.
- 10:48Speaker 8: That reminds me of like growing up, I had a
- 10:50Speaker 8: friend who came over and he's like, is there any
- 10:52Speaker 8: rooms I can't go in? And we were like, no.
- 10:55Speaker 8: And then me and my friends went over to his
- 10:57Speaker 8: house and his mom literally had like, I think it
- 11:00Speaker 8: was a living room, right? And it was like literally
- 11:03Speaker 8: blocked off with like those red stanchion thingies, like a.
- 11:06Speaker 14: Museum, like a museum.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 11:08Speaker 2: Did they live at Graceland? No. Nope, it was just
- 11:11Speaker 2: in Ahwatukee. You know what's funny? Wait, wait, wait.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Like old books and stuff?
- 11:16Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 11:16Speaker 8: Maybe she had antiques.
- 11:17Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Your friend asking, are there any rooms I can't go
- 11:21Speaker 2: in is so weird.
- 11:21Speaker 15: So weird.
- 11:22Speaker 2: So weird. I'd be like, what? I know.
- 11:24Speaker 8: Well, I thought it was weird until going to his
- 11:26Speaker 8: house and realizing they do have a room you're.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Not allowed in.
- 11:28Speaker 4: And it probably was. Poor guy was probably traumatized. He
- 11:31Speaker 4: definitely did not want to walk into a room he
- 11:33Speaker 4: wasn't supposed to. I'm sure his mom... Had lit him
- 11:36Speaker 4: up once or twice. Like, what's that about?
- 11:39Speaker 11: That makes total sense to me.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:40Speaker 11: My childhood home in beautiful Florissant, Missouri was 1300 square feet.
- 11:45Speaker 11: So we never were allowed to go into the living
- 11:48Speaker 11: room unless there were church people over. They could go
- 11:51Speaker 11: in there. And on Christmas day, we would go in there.
- 11:54Speaker 11: Otherwise it was off limits, off limits to us. So
- 11:58Speaker 11: we hung out in the kitchen, me and my brother.
- 12:00Speaker 11: That's where we hung out because the rooms are too small.
- 12:02Speaker 11: But that room was totally off limits. I get your friend.
- 12:04Speaker 11: I totally get it.
- 12:05Speaker 8: Because you just wanted to keep it nice?
- 12:07Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 11: It was just nice. And whatever they had nice on
- 12:11Speaker 11: the carpet was perfect. The couch you couldn't sit on.
- 12:13Speaker 11: So there was no reason for us to go in
- 12:15Speaker 11: there because there was nothing in there we wanted to
- 12:17Speaker 11: hang out and play with anyway. But we weren't allowed
- 12:19Speaker 11: in the living room at all.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Let's get into weird rules growing up. 877-937-1047. When I
- 12:25Speaker 2: was a kid and my dad was working in his office,
- 12:28Speaker 2: whenever I walked in to say something to him, He
- 12:30Speaker 2: always made me say the alphabet in Greek, and then
- 12:33Speaker 2: I had to do it backwards, in reverse.
- 12:38Speaker 11: I think that's an Indiana Jones movie.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Oh, you're right. That is Indiana Jones. My bad.
- 12:43Speaker 8: I was about to say.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I lost you there. Already then?
- 12:47Speaker 14: Okay.
- 12:47Speaker 8: That way I was able to.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Read hydroglyphics growing up and I could save the arc.
- 12:56Speaker 11: Okay.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Now I'm seeing, now I'm getting it.
- 12:58Speaker 11: You guys get a whole deep lore. You guys don't
- 13:00Speaker 11: even know.
- 13:01Speaker 7: Tatum.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Thanks for calling in. Thanks for listening. And thanks for
- 13:03Speaker 2: giving us a segment to get into. We want to
- 13:05Speaker 2: get into weird rules. Hillary, you got a weird rule.
- 13:08Speaker 19: Yeah, I do. My family has this rule where if
- 13:12Speaker 19: I had a, you know, like growing up and stuff,
- 13:15Speaker 19: like when I was in high school, my family had
- 13:16Speaker 19: this rule where if I had a boyfriend sleepover and
- 13:19Speaker 19: He had to sleep on the floor and my bedroom.
- 13:21Speaker 16: Door had to stay open.
- 13:23Speaker 19: I thought this was like normal. So when I went
- 13:25Speaker 19: to college, I started dating this guy and I made
- 13:29Speaker 19: him sleep on the floor the first time he stayed over.
- 13:32Speaker 16: He looked at me like I was crazy.
- 13:34Speaker 19: He's like, wait, I'm sorry, you want me to sleep where?
- 13:39Speaker 16: And I was like, the floor, obviously.
- 13:40Speaker 19: Like, duh, that's where boyfriends sleep when they stay over.
- 13:44Speaker 19: But then I realized I don't have to follow my parents'
- 13:48Speaker 19: little house rules when I'm an adult. I finally realized that.
- 13:53Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 13:54Speaker 20: We're actually still friends.
- 13:56Speaker 19: We're not dating anymore.
- 13:57Speaker 16: But he still brings it up.
- 13:59Speaker 19: He was so gagged about it. But he did it anyway.
- 14:03Speaker 19: And that's kind of.
- 14:04Speaker 21: Why we started dating.
- 14:05Speaker 19: We dated for a while before.
- 14:08Speaker 2: So when you were in high school, your parents let
- 14:09Speaker 2: you have a guy sleep over?
- 14:10Speaker 4: That's what I was going to say. That's crazy.
- 14:12Speaker 11: No way. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 19: They were like, yeah, but the bedroom door has to
- 14:17Speaker 19: stay open.
- 14:17Speaker 14: Still.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Sleepover, though.
- 14:21Speaker 19: Truly, I was such a good kid that it didn't
- 14:23Speaker 19: even matter. I was not going to be sleeping with
- 14:26Speaker 19: my boyfriend in high school.
- 14:28Speaker 5: My parents knew it.
- 14:30Speaker 4: I had a friend who used to always have sleepovers
- 14:32Speaker 4: with her guy friends, and I would go and spend
- 14:34Speaker 4: the night, and I would get so nervous that my
- 14:36Speaker 4: mom and dad would find out that I was having
- 14:38Speaker 4: sleepovers with boys that I would always come up with
- 14:40Speaker 4: some fake excuse that I needed my mom to come
- 14:42Speaker 4: pick me up. I was not about to get reamed
- 14:44Speaker 4: for her. No.
- 14:45Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 8: That would be scary.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Smart.
- 14:47Speaker 11: That's a smart move.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Also, kind of weird.
- 14:49Speaker 4: There's like six boys here and we're like in the
- 14:52Speaker 4: eighth grade.
- 14:53Speaker 11: This is odd.
- 14:54Speaker 10: Oh, my God.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I would never.
- 14:55Speaker 5: I would go home.
- 14:56Speaker 12: Yeah, girl.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I did.
- 14:58Speaker 9: Trust.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Hillary, thanks for listening. Have a great day.
- 15:02Speaker 16: Thank you.
- 15:03Speaker 2: My friend Mike, I remember, this is kind of a
- 15:06Speaker 2: weird rule, but when he got in trouble, I remember
- 15:09Speaker 2: his parents, the way he got punished. was that they
- 15:12Speaker 2: put him in a room and he had to sit
- 15:14Speaker 2: on a chair in the middle of the room and
- 15:16Speaker 2: his feet weren't allowed to touch the ground. And they
- 15:19Speaker 2: would look under the door if his feet touched the
- 15:22Speaker 2: ground and they would like spank him.
- 15:23Speaker 8: Oh my gosh.
- 15:25Speaker 2: I know. I was told that one time and I
- 15:26Speaker 2: had like nightmares.
- 15:27Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Why would your parents be like that?
- 15:29Speaker 14: Oh my gosh.
- 15:30Speaker 4: I've totally had to do wall sits as a punishment
- 15:32Speaker 4: but never got like whooped for it if I didn't
- 15:34Speaker 4: like pass.
- 15:35Speaker 11: That's different than your feet can't touch the ground and
- 15:37Speaker 11: they're spying on you under the door.
- 15:39Speaker 2: That is a weird rule. I know, I know. That's weird.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Weird rule is a weird punishment, too. Yeah. Anyway, 877-937-1047.
- 15:48Speaker 1: You've got questions, and we have four unqualified people to
- 15:52Speaker 1: give you answers.
- 15:54Speaker 14: It's John Jay and Rich.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Selena. Good morning. What's a weird rule you had growing up?
- 15:58Speaker 21: So my mother always worked in the medical field when
- 16:01Speaker 21: we were younger. And so any time that we would start, like,
- 16:05Speaker 21: you know, just a cough, she would always just tell us,
- 16:09Speaker 21: suppress it. So every time we would start to cough,
- 16:12Speaker 21: she would just, you know, always just tell us to
- 16:14Speaker 21: suppress it. And we were like, you know, little kids, like,
- 16:18Speaker 21: how do you suppress your cough? But um honestly it
- 16:22Speaker 21: worked i mean we never had those crazy barking coughs
- 16:26Speaker 21: that you hear some of the kids with so tried
- 16:28Speaker 21: it with my family and they looked at me like
- 16:30Speaker 21: i was crazy i was like suppress it he's like
- 16:34Speaker 21: i'm gonna explode what do you mean suppress it.
- 16:37Speaker 11: So she's saying as a medical professional if you hold
- 16:40Speaker 11: back the cough you don't actually get the real cough.
- 16:44Speaker 21: Well Yeah, so she would just explain that, like, if you, yeah,
- 16:48Speaker 21: don't give in to that cough, then it won't get worse, because,
- 16:51Speaker 21: you know, you cough, and then it, like, takes, you know,
- 16:53Speaker 21: it tickles away, but then you're coughing again.
- 16:55Speaker 2: It's the power of the mind, I guess, is what
- 16:57Speaker 2: your mom's actually doing. Micah, good morning. What's a weird
- 17:00Speaker 2: rule you had growing up?
- 17:02Speaker 20: My mom, she was a single parent, and she worked
- 17:05Speaker 20: a lot, and I had two younger brothers, and we
- 17:08Speaker 20: fought about literally everything.
- 17:09Speaker 12: Oh.
- 17:10Speaker 20: Everything, but what we thought about the most was sitting
- 17:12Speaker 20: up front in the front seat of the car and
- 17:15Speaker 20: what went on the TV. So she decided to assign
- 17:18Speaker 20: us specific days of the week. So for example, my
- 17:23Speaker 20: day was Monday and Thursday and those were the days
- 17:27Speaker 20: that I got to choose what went on TV. And
- 17:29Speaker 20: one of the days I got to sit shotgun. Um,
- 17:32Speaker 20: but it's funny and it did, um, It kind of
- 17:35Speaker 20: stopped the fighting for sure, but it also kind of
- 17:38Speaker 20: turned us into con artists because I would use it
- 17:40Speaker 20: during the week to get my brothers to do stuff
- 17:43Speaker 20: for me. My brother was a big WWE wrestling fan,
- 17:48Speaker 20: and that's what was on Monday and Thursdays, so I
- 17:51Speaker 20: would kind of use it to my advantage.
- 17:54Speaker 11: I get it.
- 17:54Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Well, thank you, Micah. Kate, you got a weird rule?
- 17:58Speaker 13: Yes, I had a weird family rule when we ever
- 18:01Speaker 13: got Christmas gifts or... any birthday gifts. We weren't actually
- 18:06Speaker 13: allowed to open things like Bratz dolls and Barbies and
- 18:10Speaker 13: things like that because they would be collectible one day.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 18:15Speaker 8: And they are. It's funny, Paige and I, we were
- 18:17Speaker 8: just talking about this the other day with like the
- 18:19Speaker 8: holiday Barbies and we couldn't wait. It could have been
- 18:22Speaker 8: worth millions. So now you probably have a nice stash
- 18:25Speaker 8: of collectibles.
- 18:27Speaker 13: Yeah, I actually have like six different dolls still in
- 18:30Speaker 13: the boxes. Just sitting up in the closet.
- 18:33Speaker 11: But what did you what did you play with just
- 18:35Speaker 11: sticks from the yard what.
- 18:38Speaker 13: Certain ones we would be able to so they had
- 18:40Speaker 13: those you know the cheaper ones so you know the
- 18:43Speaker 13: legs would like collapse in we were.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Like the basic ones and like.
- 18:49Speaker 13: Yeah the basic ones.
- 18:50Speaker 4: The ones you're talking about are like they're in these
- 18:52Speaker 4: big beautiful boxes or they're they're limited edition like I
- 18:54Speaker 4: still have my Justin Bieber Barbie doll packed away somewhere
- 18:57Speaker 4: because I thought it was going to make me a
- 18:58Speaker 4: ton of money. It's not, by the way. It might.
- 19:01Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 19:01Speaker 13: I have one that actually is in a guitar-shaped case.
- 19:05Speaker 11: Yes.
- 19:06Speaker 14: Oh, that's cool.
- 19:06Speaker 11: I love that. Oh, that's so fun.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Thanks, Kate. Thanks for listening. Levy, what's a weird rule
- 19:12Speaker 2: you have?
- 19:13Speaker 22: So, growing up, if I were sick or if I
- 19:17Speaker 22: had an appointment or if there was anything that ailed
- 19:21Speaker 22: me or kept me from school, I couldn't have any
- 19:25Speaker 22: fun after school. You know, like if school was over
- 19:29Speaker 22: and my appointment was over and I had to go home,
- 19:32Speaker 22: like no TV, no having fun, no going outside because
- 19:36Speaker 22: I miss school.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Oh, that makes sense.
- 19:39Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I think that's a good rule.
- 19:40Speaker 11: You should be able to watch TV if you're sick, though.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Oh, you should be able to watch TV for sure.
- 19:43Speaker 11: That's the glory of being home during the day. You
- 19:45Speaker 11: get to watch all the shows.
- 19:46Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:47Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 19:48Speaker 22: I believe that, too.
- 19:49Speaker 13: But, like, that was.
- 19:50Speaker 22: Just a weird rule that my mom had. It was
- 19:52Speaker 22: just no fun.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Because she didn't want you to fake it. She didn't
- 19:56Speaker 2: want you to fake it. Right.
- 19:57Speaker 11: Exactly.
- 19:58Speaker 22: I think that it was just more along the lines, like, if, okay,
- 20:01Speaker 22: if you don't go to school, then you can't have
- 20:03Speaker 22: fun after school.
- 20:04Speaker 6: Right, right, right.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Thanks, Levy. Debracy, what do you got? What's a weird rule?
- 20:08Speaker 23: So when I would decide, say on a Tuesday, that
- 20:13Speaker 23: I was going to hang out with my friends until
- 20:16Speaker 23: the streetlights came on and have fun, the next day
- 20:20Speaker 23: I couldn't have fun. So it was every other time.
- 20:25Speaker 23: And it was the weirdest thing. I have kids now
- 20:29Speaker 23: and I tried to implement that. And my kids definitely
- 20:32Speaker 23: called me out and was like, what is that?
- 20:36Speaker 11: It didn't occur to you until they started pushing back
- 20:38Speaker 11: that you can have fun every day?
- 20:40Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 20:41Speaker 23: And I'm like, wait, hold on. I need to stop.
- 20:43Speaker 13: No.
- 20:44Speaker 23: So, yeah, it is definitely a learning curve for me
- 20:47Speaker 23: because I thought that was normal. So if I have
- 20:49Speaker 23: fun today, there's no having fun tomorrow.
- 20:53Speaker 4: No talking, no going anywhere. Go to my grandma's house.
- 20:56Speaker 2: That is probably one of the weirdest rules I've ever heard.
- 21:01Speaker 8: So you would never get like a three day pass
- 21:03Speaker 8: to Disneyland. Three days in a row would not be
- 21:06Speaker 8: an option.
- 21:06Speaker 11: Too tight with fun.
- 21:08Speaker 2: You'd go to Disneyland one day, and the second day
- 21:09Speaker 2: you get stuck in traffic. It'd make you stay in traffic.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Bad day. All right, thank you. Jared, you got a
- 21:14Speaker 2: weird rule?
- 21:16Speaker 6: So I don't have a weird rule, but my buddy,
- 21:20Speaker 6: they had a white room in there. It was like
- 21:22Speaker 6: a living room.
- 21:23Speaker 2: It was a white room.
- 21:23Speaker 6: Nobody was allowed to go in there. Well, anyway, I
- 21:27Speaker 6: worked for an appliance company, and they ordered a new
- 21:30Speaker 6: washer and dryer. And so me and my other buddy,
- 21:33Speaker 6: we went to install it. And when we tried to
- 21:37Speaker 6: install the new washer and dryer, we flooded that room.
- 21:42Speaker 11: The white room got flooded.
- 21:44Speaker 2: And what's the weird rule? That? The white rule? That
- 21:47Speaker 2: no one's allowed in there?
- 21:49Speaker 6: The weird rule is nobody was allowed in that white room.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Ever.
- 21:53Speaker 6: You couldn't go in there.
- 21:54Speaker 2: So what'd they do in there?
- 21:54Speaker 6: Perfect.
- 21:55Speaker 2: What do you do in a white room?
- 21:57Speaker 6: I don't know. It wasn't my house.
- 21:59Speaker 4: He'd probably just look at it.
- 22:00Speaker 8: So when you flooded it, did you try to go
- 22:03Speaker 8: in there to fix it? And they were like, don't
- 22:04Speaker 8: go in there.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Don't fix the white room.
- 22:07Speaker 6: No, it was just flooded. And so we're calling the
- 22:11Speaker 6: plumbers and everybody else trying to get over there to
- 22:14Speaker 6: fix the pipe. But the white room was absolutely destroyed.
- 22:20Speaker 2: All right. Thanks, Jared. Dee, you got a weird rule?
- 22:25Speaker 21: Yeah, I have a couple of them, actually.
- 22:26Speaker 2: All right.
- 22:27Speaker 10: I had two girls being a single mom. And along
- 22:31Speaker 10: the lines of them fighting all the time, like the
- 22:33Speaker 10: previous caller talked about, What I did with them, because
- 22:37Speaker 10: they always want a shotgun, is one of the kids'
- 22:42Speaker 10: birthday was on the 18th, and one of the kids'
- 22:44Speaker 10: birthday was on the 19th.
- 22:45Speaker 16: So I told them it.
- 22:46Speaker 10: Was odd and even. So if it was an even day,
- 22:51Speaker 10: then the even person, the 18th, so she was even
- 22:53Speaker 10: day and odd day.
- 22:54Speaker 5: So that was one of them.
- 22:55Speaker 11: Complicated, but okay, get it.
- 22:58Speaker 17: Well, it was just odd and even.
- 22:59Speaker 5: It was easier back then.
- 23:00Speaker 16: It's like, what day is it? Okay, it's the 5th, so.
- 23:03Speaker 10: Then, you know, Miranda, which was the odd day. Anyway,
- 23:08Speaker 10: the second rule was for Christmas Day, Christmas morning, they
- 23:13Speaker 10: were not allowed to come downstairs to open presents until
- 23:17Speaker 10: Elvis Presley's CD started playing.
- 23:21Speaker 5: Then they could come down.
- 23:22Speaker 10: That's a weird rule.
- 23:23Speaker 2: They were really good at it.
- 23:25Speaker 16: They stayed upstairs.
- 23:27Speaker 21: Until they heard that song.
- 23:29Speaker 11: A little blue Christmas without you.
- 23:35Speaker 10: To this day, they know when they hear that song.
- 23:37Speaker 16: Oh, my God, that song.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Thanks, Dee. If you have any other ones, shoot us
- 23:41Speaker 2: a call. 877-937-1047 or DM John J. Van Ness. It's
- 23:46Speaker 2: John J. and Rich.
- 23:47Speaker 14: Stop just yelling at the radio. Call us.
- 23:52Speaker 7: 877-937-1047.
- 23:52Speaker 14: It's John J. and Rich.
- 23:56Speaker 2: The drunk dial line is 602-888-1933. The talkback feature is
- 24:01Speaker 2: on the free iHeartRadio app. You just tap the microphone
- 24:03Speaker 2: and leave us a message. We got some talkbacks. We
- 24:05Speaker 2: got some drunk dials.
- 24:06Speaker 24: Don't put bananas in the book.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I said, don't put bananas in my butt.
- 24:11Speaker 12: I told you many times before.
- 24:15Speaker 24: My butt is not a banana door.
- 24:19Speaker 9: No, I'm a physician, and I cannot fuck you myself.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 24:28Speaker 11: I am a physician.
- 24:30Speaker 2: That is hilarious.
- 24:31Speaker 8: Didn't see that coming.
- 24:32Speaker 2: It's a very catchy song, man. I've made two videos
- 24:35Speaker 2: on it. Now that she said it, it's going to
- 24:36Speaker 2: be stuck in my head. Don't put bananas in my butt. No,
- 24:40Speaker 2: don't put bananas in my butt.
- 24:42Speaker 12: I've told you several times before.
- 24:45Speaker 2: My butt is not a banana door. Such a catchy song.
- 24:49Speaker 9: My weird rule is no garbage is allowed to be
- 24:54Speaker 9: put in the garbage can in the kitchen. All garbage
- 24:58Speaker 9: goes in a grocery bag, gets tied, and then out
- 25:02Speaker 9: to the garage freezer and puts in the freezer. And
- 25:07Speaker 9: then the night before garbage, it comes out of the
- 25:10Speaker 9: freezer and goes into the garbage can down by the streets.
- 25:14Speaker 9: I had a terrible maggot story.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 25:18Speaker 4: I'm like, is this my meme? Because we have that
- 25:21Speaker 4: same rule.
- 25:21Speaker 11: You just can't throw away trash?
- 25:23Speaker 4: Yeah, trash is not allowed to go in the actual
- 25:25Speaker 4: trash can. It either has to go down the garbage
- 25:27Speaker 4: disposal or it has to go into the freezer and
- 25:31Speaker 4: wait there till trash day to take it out. Because
- 25:33Speaker 4: then the trash can stinks.
- 25:34Speaker 8: That's like my father-in-law, but he, like, there isn't, like,
- 25:37Speaker 8: the freezer option. He'll, like, take it to a dumpster
- 25:39Speaker 8: away from his house.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's funny.
- 25:42Speaker 4: I mean, I get it because, like, I mean, you
- 25:44Speaker 4: have the maggots. And then in Arizona, it gets so
- 25:46Speaker 4: hot out here.
- 25:46Speaker 11: It does smell terrible.
- 25:47Speaker 4: If your trash is just sitting in there, ugh.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Is there a good maggot story? No, probably not.
- 25:52Speaker 14: I wouldn't think so.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Ugh, gross. Oh, that's her? Chris, hello.
- 25:58Speaker 17: So a long time ago, I had two roommates. And
- 26:01Speaker 17: I always said, don't put any garbage in the garbage.
- 26:04Speaker 17: I hate that garbage just sits in the can for
- 26:07Speaker 17: days on end until it's garbage day. So one day
- 26:10Speaker 17: I'm vacuuming and there is rice on my floor, but
- 26:13Speaker 17: the rice was moving. So all of a sudden I'm like,
- 26:17Speaker 17: this is why you guys, you don't put, you know,
- 26:21Speaker 17: garbage in the garbage can. So ever since then, I've
- 26:23Speaker 17: had a rule that no garbage goes in my garbage can.
- 26:26Speaker 17: I have a garbage can in my kitchen and, That
- 26:28Speaker 17: is for show, but no garbage goes into it. So
- 26:31Speaker 17: what I do, you know, I don't want to look
- 26:34Speaker 17: totally weird and not have a garbage can. So what
- 26:37Speaker 17: I do is when I come home from work, I'll
- 26:39Speaker 17: make dinner, and all the garbage of food and whatnot
- 26:43Speaker 17: goes into a grocery bag, and then it goes out
- 26:46Speaker 17: into my garage freezer.
- 26:48Speaker 2: We have two people in the show that completely relate
- 26:50Speaker 2: to that. Peyton's grandma and Kyle's father-in-law does the same
- 26:52Speaker 2: thing you do.
- 26:53Speaker 16: Well, that's perfect.
- 26:54Speaker 17: I think it's genius.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I'm not going to lie. When I buy a house,
- 26:58Speaker 4: I probably will try to move forward with the same
- 27:00Speaker 4: kind of like rules per se, because it does your
- 27:04Speaker 4: trash gets stinky and that's gross.
- 27:06Speaker 11: It's true.
- 27:08Speaker 10: And I live alone.
- 27:09Speaker 16: I live alone.
- 27:11Speaker 17: So I don't have that much garbage. Like if I
- 27:13Speaker 17: make dinner or whatnot during the week, I don't have
- 27:15Speaker 17: that much garbage. I'm not going to let it just
- 27:17Speaker 17: sit in the garbage can in the kitchen.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Good call.
- 27:20Speaker 8: I mean, I get it.
- 27:21Speaker 17: So everyone always laughs at me that my garbage is
- 27:23Speaker 17: in the freezer. My family thinks it's ridiculous, and they
- 27:26Speaker 17: laugh at me.
- 27:26Speaker 11: But look how good your house smells all the time.
- 27:29Speaker 14: It does.
- 27:30Speaker 5: It does.
- 27:30Speaker 17: But you know what it smells from, though? I have
- 27:33Speaker 17: a rescue dog, John Jay.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Oh.
- 27:35Speaker 17: So, you know, yes, I'm with Arizona Golden Rescue.
- 27:38Speaker 11: Oh, that's awesome.
- 27:40Speaker 17: Arizona Golden Rescue.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Yeah, great organization.
- 27:43Speaker 6: Yes, big time.
- 27:44Speaker 17: And another thing, John Jay– Um, you had a bit
- 27:48Speaker 17: on months ago about meeting somebody and totally like messing
- 27:53Speaker 17: up the meeting and being so like shy and nervous.
- 27:56Speaker 17: And I was so shy and nervous to meet you
- 27:58Speaker 17: at one of the family fest two years ago. I
- 28:01Speaker 17: look like a complete idiot when I met you.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Oh, come on. I remember you.
- 28:05Speaker 11: No, I'm just kidding.
- 28:08Speaker 12: Oh, Chris.
- 28:08Speaker 16: Yeah, I bet you do.
- 28:09Speaker 17: I was a stumbling idiot. I'm like, oh, I'm from
- 28:12Speaker 17: Golden Rescue.
- 28:13Speaker 9: Anyways.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Well, it was great to meet you, Chris, and I
- 28:16Speaker 2: hope you come to Family Fest this year. It's November 7th.
- 28:19Speaker 12: I will.
- 28:19Speaker 17: I come every year.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Great.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Great.
- 28:21Speaker 9: Yes.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Can't wait to see you. All right, you guys. Say
- 28:23Speaker 2: hi to me again. Let's meet there. We'll meet at
- 28:24Speaker 2: the Golden Rescue area.
- 28:26Speaker 18: Okay.
- 28:26Speaker 2: All right.
- 28:26Speaker 17: Hopefully, I won't be a babbling idiot this time.
- 28:29Speaker 2: I'll meet you there. Thanks, Chris. Have a great day.
- 28:31Speaker 17: Thanks, John Jay.
- 28:31Speaker 13: Have a good day, you guys.
- 28:32Speaker 14: Call us now.
- 28:34Speaker 13: Hello.
- 28:36Speaker 12: 877-937-1047.
- 28:37Speaker 14: It's John Jay and Rich.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Jessica, good morning. What's up? You're on the air.
- 28:43Speaker 20: Hi, good morning.
- 28:44Speaker 15: I was calling about a funny Rich story.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 28:47Speaker 15: So a couple weeks ago, I actually called your show,
- 28:50Speaker 15: and I told you the same story, John Jay, but
- 28:54Speaker 15: you put me on hold, and then by the time
- 28:57Speaker 15: you came back, it had disconnected.
- 28:59Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 29:01Speaker 10: Sorry.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 29:02Speaker 15: No, that's okay. I know that you guys have a
- 29:04Speaker 15: lot of problems with your phones.
- 29:06Speaker 12: We do indeed.
- 29:09Speaker 2: What was the Rich story?
- 29:12Speaker 15: So, a while back, you guys had did an episode
- 29:15Speaker 15: where somebody was talking about that they saw Rich at
- 29:21Speaker 15: the gym. And then somebody from your show, I think
- 29:25Speaker 15: they were asking about like, oh, okay, well, when you
- 29:28Speaker 15: saw him at the gym, what happened? like exercise equipment
- 29:32Speaker 15: was using. Does it sound familiar?
- 29:36Speaker 2: Rich at the gym does not sound familiar. to me.
- 29:38Speaker 2: But go ahead.
- 29:40Speaker 11: Well, I think one of them was Peyton's friends and
- 29:42Speaker 11: she said that she just saw me walking around talking
- 29:44Speaker 11: to people.
- 29:44Speaker 14: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 11: Which does happen a lot.
- 29:46Speaker 2: So what is your story?
- 29:48Speaker 15: So what I had called about was like, yeah, instead
- 29:53Speaker 15: of him going or instead of him actually using gym equipment,
- 29:57Speaker 15: he was just walking around talking to everybody. And that
- 30:01Speaker 15: just reminded me, you know, those progressive commercials where they
- 30:05Speaker 15: say that you turn into your parents, like this is
- 30:08Speaker 15: a sign that you're turning into your parents. I feel
- 30:11Speaker 15: like that is totally the typical scenario where you're just
- 30:16Speaker 15: going around talking to everybody at the gym, but everyone's
- 30:19Speaker 15: like busy doing stuff. And he's just going around chatting
- 30:23Speaker 15: it up with everybody.
- 30:24Speaker 11: There's one of those commercials that my wife pointed out.
- 30:27Speaker 11: She's like, that's you. And it's when the guy's in
- 30:29Speaker 11: the back of an Uber and he's chatting up the
- 30:31Speaker 11: Uber driver and becoming friends with the Uber driver. And
- 30:34Speaker 11: he's like, you're doing a great job. That is totally me.
- 30:37Speaker 2: No, you are really good at that. You know, the
- 30:39Speaker 2: other day when we were in, we were in Reading
- 30:41Speaker 2: and the owner of the radio station picked us up
- 30:42Speaker 2: and I always sit in the back seat and Rich
- 30:45Speaker 2: is in the front seat and Rich is just talking away.
- 30:48Speaker 2: And I'm just sitting back there. I'm like, thank God
- 30:50Speaker 2: that he's here.
- 30:51Speaker 11: Thank God.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I'm just sitting back there. I have nothing to say.
- 30:54Speaker 2: I'm talking the whole way there.
- 30:57Speaker 11: I make friends on the plane on the way there,
- 30:58Speaker 11: on the way back.
- 30:59Speaker 4: Yeah, Rich, you are such a good Uber chatter that you, like,
- 31:03Speaker 4: get the same Uber driver on your way back home. Like,
- 31:05Speaker 4: you get their number, and you don't even go through
- 31:07Speaker 4: the app.
- 31:07Speaker 2: That's right.
- 31:08Speaker 4: You just text them personally.
- 31:10Speaker 11: Want to hit up a taco shop? Ask them to
- 31:12Speaker 11: pick you up in 30 minutes around the corner.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Jessica, thanks for calling in.
- 31:16Speaker 16: All right.
- 31:17Speaker 15: Thank you.
- 31:17Speaker 16: Bye.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Have a great day.
- 31:19Speaker 1: The next segment we're going to do is called Second
- 31:21Speaker 1: Date Update because that's what we're going to try and get,
- 31:24Speaker 1: and that's what the bit is called. Second Date Update
- 31:27Speaker 1: starts right now on John Jay and Rich.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Marina, good morning. You're on the air.
- 31:32Speaker 16: Hey, John Jay and Rich. I have a question for you.
- 31:35Speaker 16: It's a little debate that I've been having with my friends,
- 31:38Speaker 16: and I'm curious about your opinion.
- 31:39Speaker 5: Okay.
- 31:41Speaker 2: What happened?
- 31:42Speaker 16: So, I'm sorry, but if a guy asks me out
- 31:45Speaker 16: on a date, and he's asking me to go somewhere
- 31:47Speaker 16: where we're obviously going to have drinks, I 100% think
- 31:52Speaker 16: that this guy should be paying for my Uber there
- 31:55Speaker 16: and back, right? I mean, to me, that's part of
- 31:59Speaker 16: asking someone on a date, is caring about how I'm
- 32:02Speaker 16: going to get there in the first place. When you're
- 32:04Speaker 16: inviting me out, you're choosing to pursue me. I mean,
- 32:08Speaker 16: so yeah, I think making sure that I get there
- 32:12Speaker 16: home safely... That is a huge part of the deal.
- 32:15Speaker 11: And I told my friends about this. Did he offer
- 32:19Speaker 11: to come pick you up?
- 32:21Speaker 16: No, nothing.
- 32:22Speaker 12: No.
- 32:24Speaker 16: Yeah, and I told my friends. I told them about it.
- 32:27Speaker 16: And I told them I'm not going to see this
- 32:29Speaker 16: guy again because he didn't even offer to get my Uber.
- 32:33Speaker 16: And they're the ones acting like I'm being high maintenance.
- 32:36Speaker 16: I don't think I'm being high maintenance. I think that
- 32:39Speaker 16: the dating has gotten so casual and the bar has
- 32:42Speaker 16: gotten so low that we've removed the bar and we've
- 32:46Speaker 16: convinced ourselves that basic effort is asking for too much. Well,
- 32:50Speaker 16: for me, it's a non-negotiable. If you ask me out,
- 32:53Speaker 16: the Uber is on you.
- 32:54Speaker 11: Interesting.
- 32:55Speaker 2: This has been a debate I've seen like on Reddit
- 32:58Speaker 2: or something like that. This is the thing now. And
- 33:00Speaker 2: it used to not be like back in the day,
- 33:02Speaker 2: back in the day before Uber, when you ask somebody
- 33:04Speaker 2: on a date, Wouldn't you just go in your own
- 33:06Speaker 2: car and meet somebody on a date?
- 33:08Speaker 8: Well, if you're talking about way back in the day,
- 33:10Speaker 8: your date would pick you up. But that's not always
- 33:12Speaker 8: safe these days.
- 33:14Speaker 11: If you're uncomfortable with giving him your address, well, you
- 33:17Speaker 11: gave him your address for the Uber. So that takes
- 33:20Speaker 11: that out of it. You're saying it's your first date, right?
- 33:23Speaker 11: This guy and you have never gone out before. And
- 33:25Speaker 11: you know you're going to go to a place where
- 33:27Speaker 11: you probably are going to drink a lot. You're saying
- 33:29Speaker 11: if you care enough about me to ask me out
- 33:31Speaker 11: to go to a bar, you should cover the drinks
- 33:34Speaker 11: and the Uber there and back.
- 33:36Speaker 8: OK, so I have a question is so you told
- 33:38Speaker 8: your friends you're not going to go out with this
- 33:39Speaker 8: guy again. Was the rest of the date spectacular? And
- 33:43Speaker 8: it's literally just that that he didn't pay for you
- 33:45Speaker 8: Uber or were you already kind of not liking him?
- 33:48Speaker 8: And then he didn't pay for the Uber and you're like,
- 33:49Speaker 8: that's it.
- 33:50Speaker 16: No, I mean, the date was actually, like, pretty nice.
- 33:52Speaker 16: He's funny.
- 33:54Speaker 13: He was nice.
- 33:55Speaker 16: You know, but to me, like, that's not enough. Because
- 33:59Speaker 16: when you get down to it, those things kind of
- 34:02Speaker 16: fade once you start having problems. You know, and I
- 34:05Speaker 16: think that that's just kind of, like, the beginning. If
- 34:07Speaker 16: somebody doesn't have the, like, the, like, awareness for my
- 34:12Speaker 16: safety from the get-go, I think there's going to be
- 34:14Speaker 16: other things down the line that I'm going to have
- 34:16Speaker 16: to coach.
- 34:16Speaker 4: You want, like, a... You want a guy that's going to, like,
- 34:19Speaker 4: think before, you know, and be ahead of the game
- 34:22Speaker 4: a little bit and be a little courteous before, you know,
- 34:24Speaker 4: you even think about it. I get it.
- 34:26Speaker 14: I understand.
- 34:27Speaker 4: I probably wouldn't be like, I'm never going to see
- 34:29Speaker 4: him again. But it would be a nice gesture if
- 34:32Speaker 4: he did it.
- 34:33Speaker 11: Just so I understand, are you mad that he didn't
- 34:35Speaker 11: offer or did you ask and he said no?
- 34:38Speaker 16: No, I'm mad that he didn't even offer. If I
- 34:41Speaker 16: asked and he said no, I absolutely would not have
- 34:43Speaker 16: met up with him.
- 34:44Speaker 10: That's fair.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Okay, so now this is a guy you go out with.
- 34:47Speaker 2: He doesn't offer. And now you're ghosting him? Has he
- 34:50Speaker 2: reached out to you? Did he have a good time?
- 34:52Speaker 2: Does he know you're upset?
- 34:53Speaker 16: No, I don't know what he thinks or what he feels.
- 34:56Speaker 16: But I feel like at our age, he should already
- 34:59Speaker 16: have been like, oh, that's something I probably should have done.
- 35:03Speaker 2: I would love to hear his point of view on this.
- 35:06Speaker 2: When was the last time you went out with this
- 35:08Speaker 2: guy or saw this guy? When was his date?
- 35:10Speaker 16: Probably a couple weeks ago.
- 35:13Speaker 2: So has he reached out to you?
- 35:15Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 35:16Speaker 2: And you just go.
- 35:16Speaker 16: Yeah, I just stopped responding.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Would you be opposed to us calling him? I'd like
- 35:21Speaker 2: to get his. I wonder if he knows.
- 35:23Speaker 5: You know what?
- 35:24Speaker 16: I am curious.
- 35:25Speaker 23: That's fine.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Because I mean, just my opinion. I don't think that's
- 35:29Speaker 2: you ask someone to go on a date. You meet
- 35:32Speaker 2: at the movie or you meet at the restaurant. You
- 35:33Speaker 2: kind of get there on your own.
- 35:35Speaker 11: It's weird. It's like I think I would probably offer
- 35:37Speaker 11: to pay, and then I don't know how I'd feel
- 35:40Speaker 11: if she demanded I pay for the Uber. I don't
- 35:42Speaker 11: know how I'd feel. I guess it depends on how
- 35:44Speaker 11: into the person you are.
- 35:45Speaker 2: So can you hold on for a second, and we'll
- 35:46Speaker 2: get his number from you and call him?
- 35:48Speaker 16: Yeah, that's fine.
- 35:48Speaker 2: What is his name?
- 35:50Speaker 6: Julian.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Okay, hold on for one second. Got to call this
- 35:53Speaker 2: guy and find out. I mean, this is interesting to
- 35:56Speaker 2: give you a different point of view of, like, we're
- 35:59Speaker 2: kind of forcing a second date.
- 36:00Speaker 8: It's like a backwards second date update.
- 36:02Speaker 11: He has no idea why he's being ghosted. I promise
- 36:03Speaker 11: you that.
- 36:04Speaker 2: I wonder if he's even thought about it. No, he
- 36:05Speaker 2: hasn't thought about it. So hold on. We're going to
- 36:07Speaker 2: call Julian to find out what he's going through right now.
- 36:10Speaker 2: It's an impromptu second date update. This is Next with
- 36:13Speaker 2: John Jane Rich.
- 36:14Speaker 5: John!
- 36:16Speaker 2: Kind of in the middle of an interesting second date update,
- 36:18Speaker 2: we got Marina on the line. She just called to
- 36:19Speaker 2: tell us, right, Marina, you were saying if you go
- 36:21Speaker 2: on a date with a guy, he should pay for
- 36:23Speaker 2: the Uber, right?
- 36:25Speaker 12: Right.
- 36:25Speaker 2: First date. You went on a first date with Julian.
- 36:28Speaker 2: He didn't pay for the Uber. You had a good
- 36:30Speaker 2: time on the date, but they pissed you off that
- 36:32Speaker 2: he didn't pay for your Uber or offer to pay.
- 36:35Speaker 2: That is correct. And you've ghosted him since. And it
- 36:37Speaker 2: was a couple of weeks ago.
- 36:39Speaker 16: Yeah, I don't love the term ghosting, but I guess
- 36:40Speaker 16: that's what happened.
- 36:41Speaker 2: All right, so we're going to get him on the phone. Actually,
- 36:44Speaker 2: he's ready to go on the phone. Okay, good. Hold
- 36:45Speaker 2: on for one second. Let's patch him through. Patch him through. Hey, Julian.
- 36:50Speaker 5: Hello?
- 36:50Speaker 2: Hey, this is John Jane Rich.
- 36:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 36:53Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 36:54Speaker 2: So we took a call from a woman, and she
- 36:57Speaker 2: was kind of talking about dating. And she said that
- 37:01Speaker 2: she will never date a guy again if he doesn't
- 37:03Speaker 2: pay for the Uber. And the story is, you're the
- 37:07Speaker 2: guy she went out with. and you didn't offer to
- 37:09Speaker 2: pay for the Uber, and she's ghosting you. So have
- 37:12Speaker 2: you been ghosted by anybody recently?
- 37:14Speaker 5: Yeah, that to me is ridiculous. You know, honestly, I
- 37:16Speaker 5: had no idea why she ghosted me. You know, it
- 37:19Speaker 5: came out of nowhere, but now that you're saying that, honestly,
- 37:23Speaker 5: I think that's absolutely insane.
- 37:24Speaker 2: Okay, so who ghosted you? Let's make sure we're talking
- 37:26Speaker 2: about the right person, or maybe you get ghosted by everybody.
- 37:29Speaker 5: Marina.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Yes, that's it.
- 37:31Speaker 12: Yes.
- 37:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:32Speaker 2: So she's ghosting you because you didn't offer to pay
- 37:34Speaker 2: for her Uber, by the way.
- 37:36Speaker 5: Yeah, that's... that's honestly the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
- 37:40Speaker 23: Sorry.
- 37:40Speaker 5: I mean, that's just, I mean, I didn't know why
- 37:42Speaker 5: she goes to me. I thought things went pretty good.
- 37:45Speaker 5: You know, I mean, I checked in with her a
- 37:47Speaker 5: couple of days later, just trying to see if she
- 37:49Speaker 5: was good. I got nothing back. And, you know, I
- 37:51Speaker 5: wasn't going to just keep blowing up her phone or
- 37:53Speaker 5: hounding her or anything. So, you know, I thought we
- 37:56Speaker 5: were on the same page, but clearly we are not
- 37:58Speaker 5: on the same page because that First of all, she
- 38:02Speaker 5: didn't even mention that at all. So I would have
- 38:05Speaker 5: had to imagine that out of air. This woman wants
- 38:08Speaker 5: me to pay for her Uber, obviously. Had no idea.
- 38:12Speaker 5: And secondly, even if she had asked me, I would
- 38:16Speaker 5: have told her she was out of her damn mind.
- 38:19Speaker 11: Wait, didn't you drink together?
- 38:20Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 38:22Speaker 4: So you don't feel like that's maybe a nice thing
- 38:25Speaker 4: to do for your date? Like if you're going to
- 38:27Speaker 4: go and get her all liquored up?
- 38:29Speaker 2: I think on the way, at the end of the date,
- 38:31Speaker 2: you're drinking, you're like, oh man, you're too drunk. You know, hey,
- 38:33Speaker 2: let me get your Uber. But to set up a date,
- 38:35Speaker 2: you call somebody, you meet somebody on an app or
- 38:37Speaker 2: whatever it is, and you're like, hey, would you like
- 38:38Speaker 2: to go to dinner next week? Yeah, absolutely. Okay, let's
- 38:40Speaker 2: go to this restaurant and meet you there at seven.
- 38:42Speaker 2: I can't say it. we'll go to this restaurant, meet
- 38:44Speaker 2: you there at seven. What's your address? I'll send an
- 38:45Speaker 2: Uber to pick you up. I think that seems a
- 38:47Speaker 2: little too, I'd wait.
- 38:48Speaker 8: I understand the getting there.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Oh, heck yeah.
- 38:51Speaker 8: I understand that you got to get there on your own,
- 38:53Speaker 8: but yes, I think it would be like kind of
- 38:55Speaker 8: nice if you were drinking and you went to New York,
- 38:58Speaker 8: then you should have offered. But the fact like, I
- 39:01Speaker 8: kind of wish Julian was like, oh yeah, that would
- 39:03Speaker 8: have been a really great idea. Like I've, but like
- 39:05Speaker 8: his reaction makes me feel like I think Marina was
- 39:08Speaker 8: onto something.
- 39:09Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 39:10Speaker 2: By the way, Marina.
- 39:12Speaker 5: Is this the standard out there?
- 39:13Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know.
- 39:15Speaker 11: We're figuring it out.
- 39:16Speaker 2: We're trying to figure it out, but Marina's on the phone.
- 39:18Speaker 2: And Marina, here's the guy you ghosted.
- 39:20Speaker 10: Yes.
- 39:21Speaker 16: Hi, Julian. Marina is on the phone. Marina heard everything.
- 39:26Speaker 16: um and i'm sorry but julian just proved my point
- 39:31Speaker 16: exactly because as nice as someone can be and julian
- 39:34Speaker 16: you are very nice um i had a great time
- 39:36Speaker 16: i'm not gonna lie um and i am sorry for
- 39:39Speaker 16: the ghosting however i'm not sorry that i um have
- 39:44Speaker 16: enough discernment to see what this would be down the
- 39:47Speaker 16: line Because I'm not in this to build a boyfriend.
- 39:51Speaker 16: I've done this way too long. And if something as
- 39:55Speaker 16: basic as not even offering to get my Uber is
- 39:58Speaker 16: just the beginning, that would be a whole other slew
- 40:03Speaker 16: of problems where I would have to teach you along
- 40:05Speaker 16: the way.
- 40:05Speaker 5: Just basic chivalry.
- 40:07Speaker 16: The fact that basic chivalry to you is the dumbest
- 40:10Speaker 16: thing that you've ever heard is Huge red flag. That's
- 40:13Speaker 16: a red flag factory.
- 40:16Speaker 5: You said you've been doing this a lot. You've been
- 40:18Speaker 5: dating a long time. You've been dating?
- 40:20Speaker 16: Yeah, of course. Been dating since I was a teenager.
- 40:22Speaker 5: And you're still single?
- 40:24Speaker 10: Ooh.
- 40:25Speaker 5: Are you? Ooh. No, I'm already seeing someone else.
- 40:29Speaker 10: Oh.
- 40:30Speaker 5: I don't love you.
- 40:31Speaker 2: I got it. I got it.
- 40:32Speaker 5: Three days in a row.
- 40:34Speaker 2: What did you say, Kyle?
- 40:35Speaker 8: I just said I don't love Julian.
- 40:40Speaker 11: The thing that bugged you gave way to a lot
- 40:42Speaker 11: of other stuff about Julian. So you picked up on
- 40:45Speaker 11: something right away. Because I can't imagine.
- 40:47Speaker 16: We're just adding fuel to the fire because he's already
- 40:50Speaker 16: dating someone else. But I have text messages from him
- 40:53Speaker 16: three days in a row.
- 40:54Speaker 12: So that's weird.
- 40:56Speaker 11: Yeah, Julie, I can't imagine somebody, hey, I'm a little buzzed.
- 41:00Speaker 11: I need to get a ride home and you not
- 41:02Speaker 11: offer to pay. That is kind of.
- 41:04Speaker 2: I think that's not the story. The story is it
- 41:07Speaker 2: wasn't she got buzzed. It was that, hey, we're going
- 41:09Speaker 2: to go on a date before you even know you're
- 41:11Speaker 2: going to get drunk. I get that.
- 41:13Speaker 11: I'm trying to give him an out and he's not
- 41:15Speaker 11: even taking the out.
- 41:16Speaker 2: I think we all agree that she gets drunk on
- 41:18Speaker 2: the way home, you pay for the Uber. But going
- 41:20Speaker 2: on a first date with someone, I think saying, I'm
- 41:22Speaker 2: going to pay for your Uber.
- 41:23Speaker 8: Yeah, but Julian didn't agree with that.
- 41:26Speaker 5: Right. To go get blasted or anything. This is a
- 41:31Speaker 5: first date. We're going to meet for drinks, a couple
- 41:35Speaker 5: of drinks. I drove, you know, and she didn't even say, oh,
- 41:41Speaker 5: you know, she was just like, all right, well, I'm
- 41:44Speaker 5: going to order my Uber, you know, and head home.
- 41:47Speaker 5: And I'm like, OK, it was really nice. You know,
- 41:50Speaker 5: have a good night.
- 41:51Speaker 20: You know, and.
- 41:53Speaker 5: Nothing in my mind was like, oh, I need to
- 41:56Speaker 5: make sure to cover this girl's Uber. I even paid
- 41:58Speaker 5: for some of the drinks. I didn't pay for all
- 42:00Speaker 5: those drinks.
- 42:00Speaker 12: You did?
- 42:02Speaker 11: Oh, man, I'm liking you less and less.
- 42:04Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 11: You didn't cover the date.
- 42:06Speaker 8: It's hard to be on his side.
- 42:08Speaker 2: If you keep this, like there's so much more on
- 42:11Speaker 2: this date now that's caused it to go sideways. But
- 42:14Speaker 2: if you're going on a first date, does the guy
- 42:18Speaker 2: pay for the Uber?
- 42:19Speaker 11: He asked her out.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Yes. He pays for the Uber. That's an automatic.
- 42:22Speaker 11: She doesn't have a way to get there.
- 42:23Speaker 2: But now you're adding something else to the story. If
- 42:25Speaker 2: she doesn't have a way to get there. If you
- 42:26Speaker 2: meet somebody, if you go on a dating app and
- 42:28Speaker 2: you ask to go on a date and we're going
- 42:29Speaker 2: to go meet at this restaurant at seven o'clock.
- 42:31Speaker 8: Does it change if you're meeting at a bar and
- 42:34Speaker 8: you know, there's going to be alcohol involved.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Well, then that's changing it still. It's a date. It's
- 42:39Speaker 2: a date at a restaurant. Most likely it's a date
- 42:41Speaker 2: at a restaurant. Whatever. She's saying date no matter what.
- 42:44Speaker 2: It's a date at a restaurant. First date, I'm on
- 42:47Speaker 2: a dating app. We're going to go meet at this
- 42:49Speaker 2: restaurant at Chili's at 7 o'clock. Is the guy supposed
- 42:52Speaker 2: to say, let me send you an Uber? That's nice
- 42:54Speaker 2: if he does.
- 42:54Speaker 5: Let me tell you something. I know a couple of
- 42:56Speaker 5: guys that have tried to pay for a girl that
- 42:59Speaker 5: they met on Tinder. The girl was like, well, I
- 43:02Speaker 5: can't really get there, but if you could send me
- 43:04Speaker 5: money for my Uber... And so they sent 20, 30
- 43:08Speaker 5: bucks and never heard from that girl again.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Well, again, that's part of, that's adding to the story.
- 43:13Speaker 2: But I think on the basic, if you're going on
- 43:15Speaker 2: a first date with somebody, is it the guy's job
- 43:17Speaker 2: to say, is it obligation? I think it's probably nice
- 43:19Speaker 2: of him to do that, but it's also, you know,
- 43:22Speaker 2: he doesn't have to show up at the date. That's
- 43:23Speaker 2: like a girl saying, Hey, I went on a date
- 43:25Speaker 2: with a guy and he didn't bring me flowers. You
- 43:27Speaker 2: should have brought me flowers.
- 43:28Speaker 11: That's true. You make a point.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Like, you know, I just feel it. So it's a big,
- 43:31Speaker 2: and by the way, every phone line is lit up
- 43:33Speaker 2: right now. You guys, we got, it's a, Apparently it's
- 43:35Speaker 2: a big controversy.
- 43:36Speaker 6: 877-937-1047.
- 43:37Speaker 2: I want to know if the majority of guys.
- 43:41Speaker 5: For her, have been offering her Ubers, or maybe that's
- 43:43Speaker 5: the reason why she's still single. She's got a very
- 43:45Speaker 5: impossibly high standard, and most guys are not going to
- 43:48Speaker 5: meet her. But, you know, good luck to you. Maybe
- 43:50Speaker 5: there's one out there.
- 43:51Speaker 16: Maybe you're still single because the bar is so low
- 43:53Speaker 16: that the world has just removed the bar.
- 43:58Speaker 5: I told you I'm not single. I'm single, man.
- 44:00Speaker 16: And then I'm trying to.
- 44:01Speaker 11: Oh, yeah, that's right.
- 44:02Speaker 2: He's moved on.
- 44:03Speaker 16: I'm sure I would be... No, I would be holding
- 44:05Speaker 16: the door open for you, I am sure. And a
- 44:07Speaker 16: few months in, I would be paying for your drinks.
- 44:11Speaker 16: You're making yourself look real icky.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Okay, so listen. So I asked you if we could
- 44:17Speaker 2: call Julian. This isn't part of what is going to happen,
- 44:20Speaker 2: because this is now a second date update, unintentionally. Would
- 44:23Speaker 2: you like to go out on a second date? We'll
- 44:25Speaker 2: pay for it, and we'll even pay for the Uber.
- 44:27Speaker 16: I'm going to let this genius guess if I'm going
- 44:29Speaker 16: to be there for a second date or not.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Well, he's got things.
- 44:31Speaker 16: Do you think I'm going to be there for a
- 44:33Speaker 16: second date?
- 44:35Speaker 5: I can't go on a second date. I'm seeing somebody else.
- 44:36Speaker 2: All right. All right. So no second date.
- 44:40Speaker 11: He's a one woman man.
- 44:42Speaker 5: Disastrous.
- 44:44Speaker 2: All right, you guys. Thanks for jumping on the air
- 44:45Speaker 2: with us, both of you. Thank you for calling in, Marina.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Thanks for bringing this debate to us. It's a huge
- 44:51Speaker 2: debate right now. We'll get to it next. It's John
- 44:52Speaker 2: Jay and Rich.
- 44:53Speaker 1: If chaos was a radio show, you're listening to it.
- 44:57Speaker 14: It's John Jay and Rich.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Okay, so I saw on the news that the Wheel
- 45:00Speaker 2: of Fortune announcer got suspended. In fact, his name is
- 45:04Speaker 2: Jim Thornton. He's been suspended from the show. It seems
- 45:08Speaker 2: some pastor made some allegations against him on American Airlines
- 45:11Speaker 2: back in May. law enforcement met him at the plane
- 45:14Speaker 2: when it landed. So that tells me it's not something
- 45:17Speaker 2: he said something rude. That tells me he did something.
- 45:20Speaker 11: He wasn't snoring loud or taking his shoes off on
- 45:23Speaker 11: the plane. He was doing something greatly offensive if they
- 45:26Speaker 11: met him at the gate.
- 45:27Speaker 2: So I believe it was probably something sexual. He probably
- 45:30Speaker 2: did something.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Either he touched somebody or he touched himself or something.
- 45:35Speaker 2: So they're going to fire him and they're going to
- 45:38Speaker 2: look for a new announcer. Here's what we're going to do.
- 45:41Speaker 2: I think everybody on the show, and 877-937-1047, we'll set
- 45:44Speaker 2: you up with my chemical romance tickets. But we want
- 45:48Speaker 2: you to audition to be the new announcer for Wheel
- 45:50Speaker 2: of Fortune. So call us with your best announcer voice.
- 45:53Speaker 2: We'll do it right now. And I feel, because I
- 45:56Speaker 2: think he did something lewd, that that should come up
- 45:59Speaker 2: in your announcing.
- 46:00Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 46:01Speaker 16: Okay.
- 46:02Speaker 8: But in radio-friendly terms.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Don't be dirty.
- 46:05Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 46:06Speaker 2: I mean, you've got to be.
- 46:08Speaker 8: Like a sneakily creepy thing to say.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Like here. Okay, you ready? Turn me up.
- 46:13Speaker 7: And now it's time to spin the big wheel harder. No,
- 46:17Speaker 7: harder than that. Pat, I'd like to buy a Val
- 46:23Speaker 7: and maybe take you out for drinks afterwards. Let's play
- 46:27Speaker 7: Wheel of Fortune. That's right, ladies. Big money. She's chosen
- 46:31Speaker 7: the letter R and judging by the way she said it,
- 46:34Speaker 7: she's very confident with her R.
- 46:38Speaker 2: I don't know. You got to come up with yourself.
- 46:40Speaker 2: You have 30 seconds to solve the puzzle.
- 46:42Speaker 7: Take your time. I'm enjoying watching you work.
- 46:45Speaker 11: It's creepy.
- 46:45Speaker 2: So you got to be creepy. Creepy Wheel of Fortune announcer.
- 46:49Speaker 11: I'll try. When you spin the wheel, your prize could
- 46:53Speaker 11: be a brand new Hyundai Elantra. I'd like to get
- 46:56Speaker 11: in the back seat with you in your brand new
- 46:59Speaker 11: Hyundai Elantra.
- 47:00Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh.
- 47:01Speaker 2: That's right, Rich.
- 47:02Speaker 7: The category is things you do in bed, and somehow
- 47:05Speaker 7: we got a family show to finish. She's going to
- 47:09Speaker 7: buy an O.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Excellent choice. Everybody loves a good O.
- 47:14Speaker 11: This is another game that we play where John Jay
- 47:15Speaker 11: can make everything sound a little disturbing.
- 47:17Speaker 2: So spin the wheel of fortune. Kyle, you want to try?
- 47:19Speaker 12: Sure, sure.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Let me give you the intro.
- 47:21Speaker 10: You ready?
- 47:21Speaker 2: And three, two.
- 47:25Speaker 8: Go ahead and spin that wheel. But remember, contestants, firm grip,
- 47:29Speaker 8: smooth motion, and don't stop until it lands.
- 47:34Speaker 6: Yep.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Yours is so much better.
- 47:36Speaker 4: You guys are so clever.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Yours is so much better.
- 47:39Speaker 10: Gross.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Aaron, are you there? Aaron, you ready?
- 47:42Speaker 12: Hello?
- 47:43Speaker 2: Take it away.
- 47:44Speaker 18: Welcome to Wheel of Fortune.
- 47:47Speaker 2: That's all I got. No, you've got to do more
- 47:51Speaker 2: than that.
- 47:53Speaker 11: Hold on, hold on. He's not getting the job.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Lexi, show them how to do it. Go ahead, Lexi.
- 47:58Speaker 24: Hello, ladies and gentlemen.
- 47:59Speaker 14: My name is Lexi.
- 48:00Speaker 24: Welcome to the Wheel of Fortune.
- 48:02Speaker 1: We are ready to spin it.
- 48:03Speaker 16: We are ready to win it.
- 48:04Speaker 22: We are ready to strip it, lick it.
- 48:07Speaker 4: Or whatever you'd like to do.
- 48:08Speaker 11: As long as you are.
- 48:09Speaker 22: Doing it from a thousand feet in the air, okay?
- 48:12Speaker 12: That's how you win.
- 48:13Speaker 23: That's how you win.
- 48:19Speaker 12: Did I win?
- 48:20Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 48:20Speaker 20: So many feelings.
- 48:23Speaker 6: Yeah, you win.
- 48:24Speaker 15: I just made my 16-year-old daughter the happiest girl.
- 48:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:29Speaker 2: Lexi. Yeah. We're going to send your clip. We're going
- 48:35Speaker 2: to send this to Ryan Secrets to see if he'd
- 48:36Speaker 2: actually hire you for the job. I think it'd be great,
- 48:38Speaker 2: but we're going to send you.
- 48:39Speaker 13: I'm ready.
- 48:40Speaker 2: My chemical romance tickets for you, Lexi. My chemical romance.
- 48:43Speaker 5: Holy cow.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Thank you. Jenny, what's up? Do you have an idea?
- 48:47Speaker 4: Kyle.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Yes.
- 48:48Speaker 20: You should have your husband audition for that.
- 48:51Speaker 5: Oh.
- 48:52Speaker 4: You're right.
- 48:53Speaker 14: Jenny, great idea.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Guess what? Guess who's on the phone? Kyle's husband, Fish.
- 48:59Speaker 6: Fish?
- 49:00Speaker 7: It's time to spin the wheel.
- 49:03Speaker 5: Good morning, John Jay and Rich.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Man, they should totally hire him. Scott, you can do
- 49:10Speaker 2: it from your house even. You don't even have to
- 49:12Speaker 2: be there, unless they probably want you to be there.
- 49:14Speaker 7: I'm doing it in my underwear.
- 49:16Speaker 2: Oh, boy, he's good.
- 49:20Speaker 11: He's good.
- 49:21Speaker 4: Oh, that's a pro right there.
- 49:23Speaker 2: Fish, for real, do you have an agent? Can you, like,
- 49:25Speaker 2: talk to them?
- 49:25Speaker 4: You should.
- 49:26Speaker 8: That's a good idea.
- 49:27Speaker 3: Sure.
- 49:27Speaker 5: Yeah, will you be my agent, John Jay?
- 49:30Speaker 8: John Jay is a good agent.
- 49:31Speaker 5: I would.
- 49:32Speaker 2: I'd be a great agent. I went through that phase.
- 49:33Speaker 2: I'll get you the gig.
- 49:35Speaker 8: It was your connections, John Jay.
- 49:37Speaker 2: For real. I'll talk to you. I've got to talk
- 49:38Speaker 2: to you. Jenny, great idea. Fish, you are so talented.
- 49:41Speaker 8: Loved it.
- 49:41Speaker 16: Thank you, guys.
- 49:42Speaker 12: I love you guys.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Love you, too.
- 49:43Speaker 6: Bye.
- 49:43Speaker 16: All right.
- 49:44Speaker 2: I don't know how to hang up.
- 49:45Speaker 11: I got it.
- 49:45Speaker 2: I got it. Too many buttons on this phone.
- 49:48Speaker 14: The commercials are finally over. Let's get back to John
- 49:52Speaker 14: Jay and Rich.
- 49:54Speaker 2: Alexis, good morning. You are our contestant for Beaches M.
- 49:58Speaker 2: How are you?
- 49:59Speaker 22: I'm doing great.
- 50:00Speaker 16: How are you guys?
- 50:01Speaker 2: All right, we're going to play Beach Shazam. You're going
- 50:03Speaker 2: to win some tickets to Gold Rush, see Deadmau5, Martin Garrix. Oh,
- 50:08Speaker 2: I hear another little contestant there.
- 50:10Speaker 24: That's my little helper.
- 50:13Speaker 2: Okay, let's play, Nick.
- 50:15Speaker 14: We're playing Beach Shazam today, you guys.
- 50:17Speaker 1: It is officially September, and that means the iHeartRadio Music
- 50:22Speaker 1: Festival is this month, and I have chosen artists from
- 50:25Speaker 1: said festival. If you can give me the title and
- 50:29Speaker 1: the artist of said song, you will get two points.
- 50:32Speaker 14: If you get one or the other, you get one point.
- 50:33Speaker 14: You get seven seconds to do it. We're going to start.
- 50:36Speaker 2: With John Jay. Snoop Dogg, Drop It Like It's Hot.
- 50:39Speaker 14: Let's go.
- 50:40Speaker 6: All right.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Easy two points with John Jay. You know anybody on
- 50:43Speaker 1: that song as well?
- 50:46Speaker 2: Somebody else, like a feature?
- 50:47Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 50:48Speaker 5: Who?
- 50:48Speaker 7: Who?
- 50:51Speaker 4: Oh, Pharrell?
- 50:51Speaker 2: Oh, good.
- 50:52Speaker 14: There you go, Alexis. Stealing a point. Didn't even need
- 50:57Speaker 14: to try.
- 50:58Speaker 2: Good job.
- 50:59Speaker 14: All right. John Jay, two points.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Rich?
- 51:04Speaker 11: Mystical, magical. That'd be Benson Boone.
- 51:07Speaker 14: Yep, that's dose points for Rich. Good job. You guys
- 51:13Speaker 14: are nailing this.
- 51:15Speaker 5: Peyton?
- 51:15Speaker 1: Peyton?
- 51:16Speaker 4: I'm just a Cardi B. I said I like it
- 51:19Speaker 4: like that. I'm with Benny, uh, with, uh, what's his name?
- 51:23Speaker 4: Bad Bunny.
- 51:25Speaker 14: Bad Bunny?
- 51:25Speaker 10: Yeah. Okay.
- 51:26Speaker 4: I like it.
- 51:27Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 51:27Speaker 14: You were, you got the two points. We were looking
- 51:29Speaker 14: for J Balvin, which was the feature on that. But, uh,
- 51:32Speaker 14: you can catch Cardi B at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
- 51:36Speaker 11: Uh, Kyle.
- 51:36Speaker 14: Kyle. Well, that's Snoop Dogg.
- 51:44Speaker 5: Peace.
- 51:45Speaker 8: And the song, oh, my gosh.
- 51:46Speaker 16: Oh, my gosh.
- 51:46Speaker 8: The song is D-O-double-G.
- 51:48Speaker 14: D-O-double-G.
- 51:49Speaker 2: That's it.
- 51:50Speaker 14: You did spell his name. That's good. We are looking
- 51:52Speaker 14: for Gin and Juice.
- 51:53Speaker 9: Gin and Juice.
- 51:54Speaker 14: Rolling down the street. All right. So heading to Alexis,
- 51:58Speaker 14: who already has one point.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 52:09Speaker 16: Oh my goodness, is that? I'm terrible.
- 52:12Speaker 24: Is it Zara Larson?
- 52:14Speaker 14: Zara Larson, we are looking for BTS.
- 52:17Speaker 1: But it's, yeah, Dynamite is the name of that song.
- 52:20Speaker 14: That was a nice try. The lineup for this festival
- 52:22Speaker 14: is incredible, you guys. I just, going through it today,
- 52:24Speaker 14: I was like, oh my goodness.
- 52:25Speaker 2: I know, it's insane. I like how Alexis got Pharrell.
- 52:28Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 52:29Speaker 2: But doesn't get the biggest band in the world.
- 52:31Speaker 14: She's still having kids.
- 52:32Speaker 20: No, it's okay.
- 52:33Speaker 2: It's okay. I kind of get it.
- 52:35Speaker 16: All right.
- 52:36Speaker 1: So after one round, John Jay, Rich, and Peyton all
- 52:39Speaker 1: have two points. Kyle and Alexis each have one. Round
- 52:42Speaker 1: two starts with John Jay.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Zara Larson. And it's that one song. It's called the
- 52:51Speaker 2: Midnight Blue.
- 52:53Speaker 10: Wait.
- 52:54Speaker 5: Yeah. Close.
- 52:56Speaker 14: Alexis.
- 52:57Speaker 22: Midnight Sun.
- 52:58Speaker 14: Midnight Sun. All right. Good job, Alexis. All right. John
- 53:03Speaker 14: Jay taking commanding lead with three points.
- 53:05Speaker 18: Rich.
- 53:07Speaker 11: Don't want the world to see me. That's the Goo
- 53:11Speaker 11: Goo Dolls.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 53:12Speaker 11: The song Iris.
- 53:13Speaker 5: Yep.
- 53:14Speaker 14: All right.
- 53:15Speaker 11: From the movie where Meg Ryan gets hit by a
- 53:17Speaker 11: lumber truck.
- 53:17Speaker 14: City of Angels.
- 53:19Speaker 11: That's right.
- 53:19Speaker 14: City of Angels is the name of that movie.
- 53:21Speaker 2: Good job, Rich.
- 53:22Speaker 14: Four points for Rich in today's game.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Peyton. I ain't got a thing, but I think maybe
- 53:27Speaker 2: I just.
- 53:28Speaker 14: Oh, Swim.
- 53:29Speaker 11: BTS.
- 53:30Speaker 8: Wow.
- 53:30Speaker 3: All right.
- 53:31Speaker 14: Tying up Rich Berra. Peyton with two points. Now four points.
- 53:37Speaker 2: Kyle.
- 53:39Speaker 14: I don't.
- 53:42Speaker 8: Want to say it because I really like the song,
- 53:43Speaker 8: but that's Sierra One Two Step.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Wow.
- 53:45Speaker 14: All right.
- 53:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:47Speaker 14: Good job. Do you know who's in that song as well?
- 53:50Speaker 1: I don't.
- 53:51Speaker 10: Pharrell.
- 53:52Speaker 11: Missy.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Missy.
- 53:54Speaker 14: Missy Misdemeanor Elliott.
- 53:56Speaker 10: All right.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Alexis, if you can get this, we'll give you five
- 54:00Speaker 1: points and you get to go to the Gold Rush
- 54:02Speaker 1: Music Festival. Unless it's a Pharrell question, she's not going
- 54:18Speaker 1: to get it right. Everybody in the room, who is it?
- 54:20Speaker 15: Give me a Snoop Dogg question.
- 54:23Speaker 4: Benson Boone.
- 54:24Speaker 14: Benson Boone.
- 54:27Speaker 2: It's been to me. Alexis, thanks for listening. We are
- 54:29Speaker 2: going to set you up with those tickets so you
- 54:31Speaker 2: can see Martin Garrix, Deadmau5, and DJ Pauly a lot more.
- 54:33Speaker 2: Thank you for listening.
- 54:34Speaker 13: Thank you, guys.
- 54:35Speaker 20: Love it.
- 54:36Speaker 17: Have a good day.
- 54:37Speaker 1: You know when it gets to last call and all
- 54:39Speaker 1: the dudes kind of start creeping up on you?
- 54:42Speaker 14: We have the solution.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Give them the John Jay and Rich Drunk Dial Line, 602-888-1933.
- 54:46Speaker 1: It's John Jay and Rich.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Rich, what are today's national days?
- 54:54Speaker 11: It's National VJ Day, and I'm not talking about the
- 54:57Speaker 11: people that used to talk about videos on MTV. It's
- 55:00Speaker 11: the day that World War II ended. National Blueberry Popsicle
- 55:05Speaker 11: Day also kicks off National Blueberry Popsicle Month Day. National
- 55:10Speaker 11: No Patrick Day. That's about SpongeBob.
- 55:13Speaker 5: Oh.
- 55:14Speaker 11: It's a SpongeBob.
- 55:15Speaker 14: No Patrick's Day.
- 55:16Speaker 11: No Patrick Day. I don't like that day.
- 55:18Speaker 8: Should be interesting if the Lindsay Clancy case have something
- 55:20Speaker 8: like that that happens today.
- 55:21Speaker 5: No, literally.
- 55:22Speaker 4: Her husband's name's Patrick. No Patrick.
- 55:24Speaker 14: No Patrick.
- 55:25Speaker 11: A No Patrick Day. It is World Coconut Day and
- 55:28Speaker 11: National Pierce Your Ears Day.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Oh, let's all get our ears pierced. Together. Did you
- 55:34Speaker 2: have an earring, John Jay? I pierced my left ear
- 55:36Speaker 2: when I was in college, and I still put it
- 55:38Speaker 2: in there. It doesn't close.
- 55:39Speaker 14: That's fun.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it was fun. Except my dad wouldn't talk to me.
- 55:41Speaker 2: He thought I was gay. Oh, that's not fun. Yeah,
- 55:44Speaker 2: I'd come home, and I'd say, hey, Dad, I'm going
- 55:47Speaker 2: to go out to the clubs. Can I have 20 bucks?
- 55:49Speaker 2: And he'd be like, I think someone's talking to me.
- 55:52Speaker 17: Oh, my God.
- 55:53Speaker 2: I don't know if someone's talking to me or not.
- 55:55Speaker 2: And I'd be like, huh? And then I took my
- 55:56Speaker 2: earring out and I'd go, hey, daddy. Yes, son.
- 55:58Speaker 11: Oh, my God.
- 55:59Speaker 13: Oh, wow.
- 55:59Speaker 2: He's old school. Very, very old school. As we got older,
- 56:03Speaker 2: he loosened up a lot about that stuff. But he
- 56:05Speaker 2: was old school European. At any rate, I want to
- 56:09Speaker 2: get into this. Rich says he's got the meanest, nicest wife.
- 56:13Speaker 11: It's true. My wife is so sweet. most of the
- 56:17Speaker 11: time until I say one thing that annoys her. And
- 56:20Speaker 11: then she's pretty mean. I love her. We got the
- 56:23Speaker 11: greatest thing going. But this morning I was rushing her
- 56:26Speaker 11: to the airport at get this. She woke up at
- 56:29Speaker 11: one 30 and I woke up at one 50. So
- 56:31Speaker 11: she had a plane that took off at 5. AM,
- 56:34Speaker 11: but she needed to pack her things because she's going
- 56:37Speaker 11: to miss America, which happens over labor day. And she's,
- 56:41Speaker 11: you know, supporting the, the Arizona girls. She's the executive director.
- 56:44Speaker 11: So I'm, uh, Not able to do a whole lot.
- 56:47Speaker 11: I think you guys have seen me on crutches.
- 56:49Speaker 2: You're in crutches, your knee's blown out, your hamstring's blown out.
- 56:53Speaker 2: Who knows what? We don't know yet.
- 56:54Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm going to get my MRI today. So I'm
- 56:58Speaker 11: doing all the things that I can to help her.
- 56:59Speaker 11: I'm going through a checklist with her. But I realize
- 57:02Speaker 11: that she's in kind of a mood. And I also
- 57:05Speaker 11: realize that she's probably not used to being up at
- 57:07Speaker 11: dark o'clock like we are. So the conversation for her
- 57:10Speaker 11: doesn't really flow where I'm kind of waking up and
- 57:13Speaker 11: I'm getting my thing going. So she says to me,
- 57:16Speaker 11: I'm in a huge hurry. Can you at least pull
- 57:18Speaker 11: the car around? I know you're not going to be
- 57:19Speaker 11: able to pick up, you know, luggage and all that stuff.
- 57:21Speaker 11: I said, sure, no problem. So I pulled the car around.
- 57:25Speaker 11: She comes out, she lugs her bags in and she
- 57:29Speaker 11: gets in the car. She's like, I need you to
- 57:30Speaker 11: hurry because I don't want to be late. I would
- 57:33Speaker 11: have been on time. if anybody would have been able
- 57:35Speaker 11: to help me with my bags. I said, well, you know, I,
- 57:41Speaker 11: I did blow out my knee. You did see me
- 57:43Speaker 11: like writhing on the floor. And she's like, yeah. And
- 57:45Speaker 11: it's still, it's still, I know it's still bad. Go
- 57:48Speaker 11: get your, I'm already, I need to know what's going on.
- 57:50Speaker 11: And then we drove in, in, in somewhat silence. And
- 57:54Speaker 11: I'm trying, I'm like, well, I know your girls are
- 57:55Speaker 11: going to do great. Uh, you know, uh, just let
- 57:58Speaker 11: me know how they do. And I hope you have
- 57:59Speaker 11: a really, really great time on your trip. She's like, yeah,
- 58:02Speaker 11: I left the kitchen a mess. That's on you.
- 58:04Speaker 4: She's like, you gotta handle your wifey duties.
- 58:08Speaker 11: While I'm gone. Yeah, so I think my perkiness in
- 58:10Speaker 11: the morning kind of pissed her off and the fact
- 58:12Speaker 11: that I am not able to lug her out her bag.
- 58:14Speaker 11: She felt like maybe, you know, she probably could have
- 58:16Speaker 11: just got an Uber. They probably would have helped her out.
- 58:18Speaker 8: Also, you know the stress of like the travel countdown?
- 58:22Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 58:23Speaker 8: Especially if you don't have everything done and you're just
- 58:24Speaker 8: like last minute, like I have to do this, this, this.
- 58:26Speaker 8: And then you were like, oh wait, I have to
- 58:27Speaker 8: do this, this, and this, this too. And it would
- 58:29Speaker 8: be nice if my husband can help me. Of course
- 58:30Speaker 8: he's hurt, but like seriously.
- 58:31Speaker 13: Right.
- 58:32Speaker 4: And also if you're not a morning person and someone
- 58:34Speaker 4: is talking to you and just won't stop talking to
- 58:36Speaker 4: you and you're not a morning, that is the most
- 58:38Speaker 4: annoying thing ever.
- 58:39Speaker 11: Then she's mad at me because I didn't tell her
- 58:41Speaker 11: that she could do her makeup in the car on
- 58:43Speaker 11: the way there. So she did her makeup before. And
- 58:45Speaker 11: that made her late for packing. So really, her time
- 58:48Speaker 11: management was kind of a total mess.
- 58:50Speaker 2: So it's all your fault. She needs you to tell
- 58:51Speaker 2: her it's okay to do her makeup in the car?
- 58:52Speaker 11: That's what she said. She's like, you could have told
- 58:54Speaker 11: me I could have done the makeup in the car
- 58:55Speaker 11: because you didn't tell me it was going to be
- 58:56Speaker 11: a 40-minute ride to the airport.
- 58:57Speaker 2: It's her first time going to the airport?
- 58:58Speaker 11: That's what I said.
- 58:59Speaker 2: From where you guys live?
- 59:00Speaker 11: You live here, too? So right now, my car is
- 59:05Speaker 11: a mess, too, because she's got mail. She's like, could
- 59:07Speaker 11: you just take this mail back inside? She's pulling stuff
- 59:09Speaker 11: out of her. purse and she doesn't need there's a
- 59:11Speaker 11: curling iron in the seat of my car that she
- 59:13Speaker 11: was mad she couldn't plug in i said i got
- 59:16Speaker 11: a hat that you can wear and she's like i
- 59:17Speaker 11: don't wear hats at the airport so she was fired
- 59:20Speaker 11: up but i think once her trip you know gets
- 59:23Speaker 11: you know once does she drink coffee She does. I
- 59:26Speaker 11: don't think she had any this morning.
- 59:27Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 59:28Speaker 11: I think she was sipping on a little tea this morning.
- 59:29Speaker 2: So she's mean and nice.
- 59:31Speaker 20: She was mean.
- 59:31Speaker 11: She's absolutely lovely until she is time-pressed and stressed, and
- 59:35Speaker 11: then it's a little scary.
- 59:36Speaker 2: So there's no compassion for you and your torn ligaments.
- 59:39Speaker 11: Not even a little bit.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Hey, by the way, so when she's gone this weekend,
- 59:43Speaker 2: like it's the three-day weekend, you're not going to get
- 59:45Speaker 2: on a plane and fly out to wherever she is.
- 59:46Speaker 2: Where are they doing the Miss America pageant? It is
- 59:48Speaker 2: in West Palm Beach.
- 59:49Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 59:49Speaker 2: What a fun place.
- 59:50Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Is that where her sugar daddy is?
- 59:52Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 59:53Speaker 8: She's like, no, Rich, you go ahead and stay home.
- 59:55Speaker 2: You're fine.
- 59:56Speaker 11: It turns out the other directors are very well-to-do.
- 59:58Speaker 2: He wasn't hurt yet when she said that. You're hurt, Rich.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: What do I mean I'm hurt? She pushed him in
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: the bathtub.
- 1:00:04Speaker 11: No, man, I'm staying home. It's crutches and cocaine in
- 1:00:07Speaker 11: my house this week. That sounds like a party.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: Yikes.
- 1:00:12Speaker 11: Anyway, we have fun.
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: Wow.
- 1:00:16Speaker 20: All right.
- 1:00:17Speaker 11: I was getting it this morning.
- 1:00:18Speaker 14: We want you to be part of the show. Call us.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: 877-937-1047. Get on the air with John Jay and Rich.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: Women are sharing the most alarming things they've seen at
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: a guy's place for the first time. What's the most
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: nope thing you've seen when you went over to a
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: guy's house for the first time? Sometimes you walk into
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: someone's house, they say, and it can reveal more than
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: the person intended. So, Joanna, what did you see when
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: you walked into a guy's house?
- 1:00:48Speaker 24: I saw a mural of him as a Greek god,
- 1:00:50Speaker 24: as in Poseidon.
- 1:00:52Speaker 11: Whoa! Well, that's so good. How are we going to
- 1:00:55Speaker 11: top that?
- 1:00:57Speaker 20: I don't know, but it was hilarious.
- 1:00:58Speaker 24: He's like, well, I'm a water sign. He's like, but
- 1:01:00Speaker 24: I don't like the water. And I'm like, well, why
- 1:01:02Speaker 24: would you get that mural of yourself?
- 1:01:05Speaker 16: But yeah, I was like, no, we got to go.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Did you see him again after that, or that was it?
- 1:01:12Speaker 24: Um, we tried, but it was just really weird because
- 1:01:16Speaker 24: he was like petrified of the water, but he just
- 1:01:18Speaker 24: saw himself as a Poseidon. And I'm like, that's, that's
- 1:01:22Speaker 24: just weird. And, um, he's not even like Greek religion
- 1:01:26Speaker 24: or anything. He didn't actually.
- 1:01:27Speaker 19: Believe in it, but he got the mural of himself.
- 1:01:30Speaker 24: So it was just kind of like, is that really you?
- 1:01:33Speaker 24: Or is that just something you're just pretending? So it
- 1:01:35Speaker 24: looks cool.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: I'm reading the comments on the Reddit thread. and your
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: comment is better than any of them. It says, here
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: are the top five most memorable responses, okay? It says,
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: a mattress that looked like a health hazard, a used
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: you-know-what on the floor, a roommate in one bed, a
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: giant photo of her face on the wall, and a
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: home overrun by animals. And Joanna is a guy painted
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: as a Poseidon mural. I think you win.
- 1:02:03Speaker 11: That's hilarious.
- 1:02:05Speaker 12: Oh, that's funny.
- 1:02:07Speaker 11: I hope you tell that story everywhere you go, because
- 1:02:09Speaker 11: it is good.
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: I do.
- 1:02:11Speaker 24: It is hilarious.
- 1:02:12Speaker 16: Cause I'm just like, yeah.
- 1:02:13Speaker 24: Cause like, I'm like, I'm a water sign.
- 1:02:14Speaker 18: So I'm like, that's cool.
- 1:02:15Speaker 10: You know?
- 1:02:16Speaker 24: And then, and he was like, no, I'm just, you know,
- 1:02:18Speaker 24: I don't even believe in it, but I got the
- 1:02:20Speaker 24: mural and I'm like, okay, well, that's just weird. Let's go.
- 1:02:24Speaker 13: Bye.
- 1:02:24Speaker 11: Is there any chance you snapped a picture of your
- 1:02:27Speaker 11: phone of said mural?
- 1:02:29Speaker 24: Oh, this is like a long time ago. It was
- 1:02:32Speaker 24: like when I was in my early twenties in college.
- 1:02:34Speaker 24: So I didn't even like have a cool phone to
- 1:02:36Speaker 24: take the picture, to keep it on there. So I
- 1:02:38Speaker 24: couldn't even take a picture.
- 1:02:40Speaker 20: But I don't know.
- 1:02:41Speaker 24: It was really cool, but it definitely did not look
- 1:02:44Speaker 24: like him at all.
- 1:02:45Speaker 8: You're like, keep dreaming.
- 1:02:47Speaker 20: You're better looking than him.
- 1:02:48Speaker 12: I'm just saying that.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Well, thanks for calling in. Thank you very much for listening. Fantastic.
- 1:02:54Speaker 12: Bye.
- 1:02:54Speaker 10: Bye.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: Wow.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Broadcasting live across the world right now.
- 1:03:01Speaker 14: This is the John Jay and Rich radio program.
