- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome back to Wisecracks. Bill Krackenberger, John Orlando,
- 0:03Speaker 1: over here at Circa. Look at the sportsbook. There's a
- 0:08Speaker 1: lot of people over here signing up today with the proxies. Yeah,
- 0:11Speaker 1: it's busy. It's getting busier because we're getting down to
- 0:15Speaker 1: the third week of preseason. Here we have a couple
- 0:17Speaker 1: weeks away until the start of regular season. And speaking
- 0:21Speaker 1: of which, I was talking to Scott that we had
- 0:24Speaker 1: on the show, Vegas Horse Pools, who was a great proxy,
- 0:27Speaker 1: by the way. He's so meticulous. So Vegas Horsepool on Twitter.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I was asking him some of the same questions that
- 0:34Speaker 1: I asked about getting your picks in on time and stuff. Scott,
- 0:39Speaker 1: he said the same thing. I always wondered if you
- 0:41Speaker 1: don't put your pick in. Does the proxy get a
- 0:44Speaker 1: hold of you? He said, oh, we have to. And
- 0:46Speaker 1: if I don't get a hold of you, I'm picking
- 0:48Speaker 1: what I feel is the biggest favorite that you didn't
- 0:49Speaker 1: have yet in your survivor, or I'm picking the top
- 0:53Speaker 1: five in the other, in the other contest. So I
- 0:56Speaker 1: like to hear that because, uh, even I have forgot
- 0:59Speaker 1: to put picks. I'm embarrassed to tell you, I have,
- 1:01Speaker 1: I was in a different contest in town and, um,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I have forgot to put pics in. Even though I
- 1:07Speaker 1: have an alarm. I put an alarm on my iPhone,
- 1:09Speaker 1: my iPad. I even forgot to put pics in on
- 1:11Speaker 1: a Saturday.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I feel like people listening to you hear that are
- 1:13Speaker 2: all going, how could.
- 1:15Speaker 3: You forget to put, it's such a big thing. How
- 1:17Speaker 3: does it, explain how it happens.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I want to get the advantage of last minute not
- 1:21Speaker 1: knowing any information. So I always set the alarm for
- 1:24Speaker 1: like a half hour or 45 minutes before the deadline.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Just so happens something came. I put snooze on it
- 1:30Speaker 1: or something. I wound up betting a game. It's in
- 1:32Speaker 1: the middle of a Saturday, college football Saturdays, and I
- 1:35Speaker 1: messed up once. I did.
- 1:36Speaker 3: So let me ask you along those lines because that's
- 1:38Speaker 3: pretty interesting because things can change. People get hurt. They
- 1:42Speaker 3: get scratched from a game or whatever. So that's your reasoning, right?
- 1:45Speaker 1: So do you have a … And the lines move. Right.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And in the circle of millions, the lines move. Do
- 1:50Speaker 1: you have a.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Backup pick in case someone, an injury gets announced or
- 1:56Speaker 2: something every week?
- 1:57Speaker 1: I don't really think of a backup unless something does happen.
- 1:59Speaker 3: So you think of it in that moment.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You have to think instantly.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Wow.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Or sometimes if I was between two picks, I'll use
- 2:06Speaker 1: the one. Okay. Yeah. By the way, I don't know
- 2:08Speaker 1: what that number says over there. J.H., what's that number say?
- 2:11Speaker 1: How many people are in Circus Survivor? Without me turning around. $ 12, 443. $ 12, 443. $ 7. 5 million. Yeah, $ 7. 5
- 2:20Speaker 1: million overlay now, but that's going to be... We're going
- 2:23Speaker 1: to go over it by millions of dollars.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:26Speaker 1: The millions still is probably some of the good value
- 2:28Speaker 1: there in the circa millions. And, of course, the grandissimo.
- 2:32Speaker 3: 29 entries in that one.
- 2:33Speaker 1: There's 29 in there? There was 18 when we were
- 2:35Speaker 1: here last week.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Was it really?
- 2:37Speaker 1: 11 more people have signed up.
- 2:38Speaker 3: That's a lot of money, man.
- 2:39Speaker 1: There are $ 100, 000 in entry.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Most of those are groups going in, right?
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't sign up yet. We have a group.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I didn't sign up yet. You know, the guys from
- 2:50Speaker 1: Myrtle Beach. Right. Oh, speaking of which, so, you know,
- 2:53Speaker 1: one of the fans of the show, if you didn't
- 2:55Speaker 1: say that, I wouldn't have caught it. I say one
- 2:58Speaker 1: of the fans of the show. I don't want to
- 3:01Speaker 1: reveal his name, but he doesn't want to be talked about.
- 3:04Speaker 1: But he said, tell John verbatim, hey, Mr. Bill, tell
- 3:09Speaker 1: John if he needs help buying part of your action,
- 3:12Speaker 1: I'll gladly put up the other action.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Is that my buddy?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's your buddy. Well, it's your buddy that put
- 3:18Speaker 1: up the World Series main event.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I love it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: He said he'll put up anything up to $ 30 or
- 3:23Speaker 1: $ 40 for you. So he's going to be in town.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I told him we'll take him to lunch or dinner
- 3:29Speaker 1: or something. I love it. And he's going to be
- 3:31Speaker 1: in town. So, I wanted to start off the show
- 3:34Speaker 1: and I didn't. I went right into the subject matter
- 3:37Speaker 1: there because we are at Circa here. I didn't think
- 3:40Speaker 1: it was going to affect me like it did. My
- 3:42Speaker 1: dad was a big Dolly Parton fan. And he loves
- 3:45Speaker 1: Reba McIntyre. He loves country music.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Yeah, sure.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Even my mom, who grew up with Doo-Wop from the Bronx,
- 3:52Speaker 1: she wound up liking country music. I took him to
- 3:54Speaker 1: go see the couple Faith Hill and.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Oh, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
- 3:59Speaker 1: God, terrible. Tim McGraw. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. I
- 4:03Speaker 1: got them backstage. Wow. I had some good connections there.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And they were such nice people.
- 4:07Speaker 3: They were both very nice.
- 4:08Speaker 1: They were so nice. You know, my dad was in
- 4:10Speaker 1: a wheelchair. And Tim McGraw helped him out in the
- 4:13Speaker 1: wheel to take a photo. I couldn't believe it. Like,
- 4:15Speaker 1: Tim McGraw. And I probably didn't know who he was
- 4:17Speaker 1: until that night. We were in a stadium. They sold
- 4:20Speaker 1: out like a stadium. They were big back then. I
- 4:22Speaker 1: don't know if they are now. They were big. But
- 4:25Speaker 1: country people in general.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Well, Faith also had the NFL song for a while.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 4:29Speaker 3: Before Carrie Underwood. Really?
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't know that. I thought that was Hank
- 4:33Speaker 1: Williams Jr. 's song. Or maybe it was a different song.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I'm thinking. Anyway.
- 4:37Speaker 3: The song before the games.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Right, right, right.
- 4:40Speaker 3: NFL Sunday or whatever.
- 4:43Speaker 1: I just want to read something by Johnny Katz, our
- 4:45Speaker 1: local guy in town here.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Dolly Parton said of our city, I've always loved Las Vegas.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It's a magical place. It's a special, special place. To
- 4:54Speaker 1: have the show come from there, it adds a different
- 4:57Speaker 1: kind of energy and different kind of excitement whenever I'm there. Now,
- 5:00Speaker 1: I've seen some videos of her at the Golden Nugget
- 5:03Speaker 1: with Steve Wynn, Frank Sinatra. Really cool videos made in
- 5:07Speaker 1: some of the suites up top there. And when he
- 5:09Speaker 1: signed her to a residency there, she was supposed to
- 5:12Speaker 1: be here. For Dolly Live in Las Vegas residency, she
- 5:17Speaker 1: had to cancel it. She canceled twice, but she was
- 5:19Speaker 1: supposed to come back and do it in September next month. Oh, man. So, yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 1: May she canceled.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Tiny little thing, too, you know.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Now that's the thing. I said to John when he
- 5:29Speaker 1: came in today, I said, John, your dad has to
- 5:33Speaker 1: know Dolly Parton. He said, no Dolly Parton? I said,
- 5:35Speaker 1: of course she does. Of course he knows Dolly Parton.
- 5:38Speaker 1: And you opened up for her. Twice, yeah.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Once at Opryland in Nashville.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Like with the Grand Ole Opry? Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Wow. And once over at... She had a thing called
- 5:48Speaker 3: the Dixie Stampede.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:50Speaker 3: In Branson.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Which was like a rodeo show you watch live.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:56Speaker 2: And you eat right there while you're watching the thing,
- 5:59Speaker 2: like a little box lunch they bring you.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Wow. And I opened for her on.
- 6:04Speaker 1: So you met her? Yeah, yeah, a bunch of times.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Oh, super nice, yeah. And then she came to our
- 6:08Speaker 3: show in Branson once and.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So your dad really knows her.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:13Speaker 1: And... um, she was so charitable.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Uh, always having, someone just told me that she has
- 6:22Speaker 1: a book thing in Tennessee that every kid gets a book,
- 6:26Speaker 1: a book mailed to them every month. That was one
- 6:28Speaker 1: of her charities. She has so many different charitable causes, uh,
- 6:32Speaker 1: not having children, not having a family. I'm sure that
- 6:35Speaker 1: she's going to have a lot of, uh, she's very,
- 6:37Speaker 1: very wealthy woman. Yeah. Hundreds and hundreds of millions, like
- 6:40Speaker 1: for sure. Over half a billion dollars I read. And, uh,
- 6:44Speaker 1: Born in a little one-room shack, which she recreated at Dollywood,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I read.
- 6:50Speaker 2: And I feel like Dolly looked pretty much the way
- 6:55Speaker 2: I first remember her, like probably when I was like
- 6:57Speaker 2: seven or eight years old. I feel like she looked
- 6:59Speaker 2: that way her entire life.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Unbelievable. John, she was on air a couple weeks ago.
- 7:03Speaker 3: It looked amazing.
- 7:04Speaker 1: She was on air and looked great.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Looked amazing. Certainly didn't look 80.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Certainly didn't look 80, that's for sure. And, John, you know,
- 7:11Speaker 1: I read something recently. Her publicist put out something, and
- 7:20Speaker 1: it was actually her nephew. Dolly Parton made an emotional
- 7:23Speaker 1: final request to the family before her death. Dolly Parton
- 7:28Speaker 1: emotionally requested that she be laid to rest in a
- 7:30Speaker 1: beautiful bed of plush cotton. That's what she wanted. After
- 7:34Speaker 1: a life, this is her words, after a life of
- 7:37Speaker 1: wearing heavy rhinestones... I think I deserve to be comfortable
- 7:40Speaker 1: and be laid to rest in a bed of cotton,
- 7:43Speaker 1: said her nephew and head of security, Brian Seaver, in
- 7:47Speaker 1: an Instagram video announcing her passing. So he told viewers
- 7:51Speaker 1: it was an honor mixed with pride and great sadness
- 7:56Speaker 1: to share a part in all the years. Her husband,
- 7:59Speaker 1: Carl Dean, who died two years ago, she was so
- 8:03Speaker 1: dedicated to him. She didn't say what happened, but she said,
- 8:07Speaker 1: me being so dedicated to him, I probably overlooked my
- 8:10Speaker 1: own health. And I'm hearing that she had cancer. Sad.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Really sad. And she was such a good person. So
- 8:19Speaker 1: it actually affected me, thinking of my dad and mom
- 8:22Speaker 1: and thinking of my dad and how much he loved
- 8:25Speaker 1: Dolly Parton. He loved Dolly. So, John, there's a big
- 8:31Speaker 1: thing in the room here I have to talk about.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Do you know what happened to Vegas Matt yesterday? It
- 8:39Speaker 1: was revealed yesterday. Yes.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Wait, I read this. He got 86 from the Venetian.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yes.
- 8:46Speaker 3: I want to save over slots.
- 8:48Speaker 1: So, this is an insane PR move. Who is in
- 8:53Speaker 1: charge of the Venetian that wants to make money for
- 8:56Speaker 1: their company? Like, this is a public company. Like, the
- 9:00Speaker 1: board of directors and stockholders and shareholders. Vegas Matt's giant.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Giant. He's a giant.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Gets millions of views. Got millions of people that love him.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Wherever he goes. He has seminars. He gives them around
- 9:13Speaker 1: the country.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Giant seminars. Brings a ton of people to casinos. I
- 9:17Speaker 1: cannot believe how stupid these people are over at the
- 9:21Speaker 1: Venetian to throw him out.
- 9:23Speaker 3: So, listen.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Venetian has games with meters on. Those meters are almost... Listen,
- 9:30Speaker 1: almost every machine has a progressive. So... If you walk
- 9:34Speaker 1: up to a machine, one has a progressive at a must-hit,
- 9:38Speaker 1: or one has a, you know, let's not even use
- 9:40Speaker 1: the must-hits. They have progressives. One is a Flaming Sevens machine,
- 9:45Speaker 1: and it's up to $ 1, 239. The one next to it
- 9:46Speaker 1: is $ 1, 749. The other ones are $ 1, 050, $ 1, 020. You're going
- 9:48Speaker 1: to play the one that's $ 1, 749 if you can get
- 9:50Speaker 1: on it. Right. It's basically what they're doing.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Yes.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Yes. they do it with an advantage on must hits,
- 10:02Speaker 1: on things that are high, on these other progressives. But
- 10:06Speaker 1: Vegas Matt and his team make no secret there's two
- 10:10Speaker 1: of the members of his team that or advantage gamblers
- 10:14Speaker 1: for 20 years. So, of course they're going to play
- 10:17Speaker 1: the machines with the better payouts or better, you know,
- 10:20Speaker 1: of course they're going to do that. This is unbelievable
- 10:23Speaker 1: what happened. We aren't talking about card counting here or,
- 10:27Speaker 1: you know, Let's say you play a pie gal progressive
- 10:30Speaker 1: or a progressive meter at one table, and it's different
- 10:33Speaker 1: at the other table. So if I move from that
- 10:35Speaker 1: table and I want to get on the table with
- 10:36Speaker 1: the higher progressive, and I want to get in there
- 10:38Speaker 1: and stand behind, is that frowned upon?
- 10:41Speaker 2: It's very similar to I moved from, oh, is that
- 10:46Speaker 2: 6-5 blackjack?
- 10:47Speaker 3: I'm going to 3-2. What's the difference?
- 10:49Speaker 1: That's exactly what someone called me that before the show. Really?
- 10:51Speaker 3: What's the difference?
- 10:52Speaker 1: I'm on six to five. You're not going to ban
- 10:55Speaker 1: me or throw me out.
- 10:55Speaker 2: I'm playing single zero roulette instead of the one now
- 10:57Speaker 2: that has three.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Yes. Yes.
- 11:00Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 11:01Speaker 1: It's just unbelievable, especially that. I know there's some people
- 11:05Speaker 1: that are sponsored by them. Yeah. That are allowed to
- 11:08Speaker 1: take videos in there, and what do you think they're playing? Now,
- 11:11Speaker 1: I like them. I actually like the guy.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Sure.
- 11:12Speaker 1: So, but.
- 11:14Speaker 3: There's clearly.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I don't get it. I don't get it.
- 11:16Speaker 2: There's clearly a disconnect between, like, operations and security and,
- 11:21Speaker 2: you know, game supervision and PR and marketing side. It's
- 11:27Speaker 2: like all players are not created equal. Like, what are
- 11:30Speaker 2: you doing?
- 11:30Speaker 1: Like.
- 11:31Speaker 3: It's just crazy to do.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I just don't get it. You're looking for business for
- 11:35Speaker 1: your place. You've got Vegas Matt in the place playing things, filming.
- 11:39Speaker 1: We're at Venetian. Have at it. Have at it.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Yeah. And by the way, who cares who wins the jackpot?
- 11:46Speaker 1: Listen.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Why is that even an issue?
- 11:48Speaker 1: Casinos all do frown upon you going in and checking
- 11:51Speaker 1: the machines for different jackpots that Joe Publix put up,
- 11:56Speaker 1: that Square Players put up. That's the kind of machines
- 11:59Speaker 1: you have. Take the machines out then if you don't
- 12:01Speaker 1: want to have those progressive kind of jackpots in there.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Go back to triple bar, triple bar, triple bar.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Yeah, cherries. Whatever, right?
- 12:11Speaker 3: Magnificent sevens. Flaming sevens.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Whatever it is. John, I want to talk about did
- 12:18Speaker 1: you know about the case here in town that this guy,
- 12:22Speaker 1: they said he's a professional gambler. I don't know him though,
- 12:25Speaker 1: so I don't know the guy, but Supposing he's a
- 12:27Speaker 1: professional gambler, but he was betting with sights, they said.
- 12:32Speaker 1: He was betting at all the sportsbooks. And when he
- 12:36Speaker 1: was betting at the sportsbooks, supposedly he was laying action off.
- 12:40Speaker 1: They didn't know actually what he was doing, but they
- 12:42Speaker 1: arrested him. And they called him a... I'm going to
- 12:45Speaker 1: read it. A professional gambler who was accused about a
- 12:47Speaker 1: Nevada Gaming Control Board of running a multi-million dollar bookmaking
- 12:50Speaker 1: operation had all criminal charges dismissed against him. Um... And
- 12:56Speaker 1: his charges, even the FBI said there's nothing there. So
- 13:01Speaker 1: this is a case where maybe they arrested someone without
- 13:04Speaker 1: knowing actually what he was doing. His wife, his ex-wife
- 13:08Speaker 1: actually ratted him out and said he was doing all
- 13:10Speaker 1: these things and she wanted more custody or more child support,
- 13:13Speaker 1: whatever it was. And it was a big headline. It's
- 13:16Speaker 1: like the godfather when, well, I don't know if it's
- 13:19Speaker 1: actually like the godfather because he was guilty. You know,
- 13:22Speaker 1: Michael Corleone. It's like, The end when Tom Hagen stands
- 13:26Speaker 1: up and says, Senator, this committee owes an apology. No
- 13:29Speaker 1: one's apologizing. They're all walking. Everyone's going their own ways.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:32Speaker 1: They already did the damage by embarrassing him. Right. So
- 13:35Speaker 1: it's kind of the same thing. They embarrassed the guy.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I don't know him. I don't know his name. Wow.
- 13:39Speaker 1: But they embarrassed the guy, and that's something that came out,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and I thought it was pretty interesting.
- 13:43Speaker 2: How long do you know from the time he got
- 13:45Speaker 2: arrested to the time he got cleared?
- 13:46Speaker 1: A month.
- 13:47Speaker 3: A month.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yeah, a month.
- 13:48Speaker 3: That's like a month of hell, right?
- 13:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. No, definitely. So... Someone just came by. Our
- 13:54Speaker 1: buddy lives in Okinawa, Japan. Just came by here. I've
- 13:57Speaker 1: known him for a couple years. He follows all the
- 13:59Speaker 1: shows and watches the shows. And he said, I said,
- 14:01Speaker 1: where are you staying?
- 14:02Speaker 3: Circa.
- 14:03Speaker 1: He said, I got the deal for 400 bucks. I said, oh,
- 14:05Speaker 1: that's a great deal. I want to talk about that.
- 14:06Speaker 1: So listen to this, John. It's $ 400. It's on here.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Since we're here. This review journal pisses me off. They
- 14:14Speaker 1: erase the content on there unless you buy it for
- 14:16Speaker 1: $ 9 a month. But I'm just trying to promote Circa. Anyway,
- 14:21Speaker 1: I know that there there's a deal here and the
- 14:23Speaker 1: deal is is 400 bucks yep for two nights two
- 14:28Speaker 1: nights you get 200 back in food in any of
- 14:31Speaker 1: the restaurants and there's no other resort fee or anything
- 14:34Speaker 1: it's all in by the way you have full access
- 14:37Speaker 1: to circus swim yeah and and i think you even
- 14:40Speaker 1: get seats out there for free so you get it's
- 14:42Speaker 1: amazing this is all all involved that's a great deal
- 14:45Speaker 1: that's what he took advantage of but i wanted to
- 14:47Speaker 1: say it was in this article but of course i
- 14:48Speaker 1: can't read it now um The Plaza has a deal
- 14:52Speaker 1: like that going. Golden Nugget also. This is downtown. Golden
- 14:55Speaker 1: Nugget also has a deal like that going. It's called
- 14:59Speaker 1: an all-inclusive deal. Like the Vegas one, the Golden Nugget one, $ 1. 99
- 15:04Speaker 1: package includes two nights, midweek, $ 50 in food. Basically, it's
- 15:08Speaker 1: $ 75 a night. The Golden Nugget, like here, is one
- 15:10Speaker 1: of the nicer hotels. Sure. downtown. So, it was just
- 15:19Speaker 1: a really good deal. I've seen the deal still going here,
- 15:21Speaker 1: and I kind of didn't realize the deal was still going.
- 15:24Speaker 1: They're building a new casino, by the way. Now that
- 15:26Speaker 1: I thought about it. I shouldn't say they're building. It's
- 15:30Speaker 1: been proposed. Another new local casino. You know, I didn't
- 15:34Speaker 1: think that we had room in this town for more
- 15:38Speaker 1: local casinos, but I guess we do. So, they're proposing
- 15:42Speaker 1: a casino down, it's between the South Point And the
- 15:48Speaker 1: Silverton on the Las Vegas Strip, one of the properties
- 15:51Speaker 1: that used to be there is now going to, they're
- 15:56Speaker 1: proposing a new casino hotel. I seen that local place
- 16:00Speaker 1: there and I was like, wow, I can't believe we
- 16:01Speaker 1: can still have all these local casinos here. Durango opened up.
- 16:05Speaker 1: It's so popular that they're building... Another tower. Another tower, garage,
- 16:10Speaker 1: movie theater, bowling alley.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yep, yep.
- 16:14Speaker 1: It's just... They make these places a family of... By
- 16:16Speaker 1: the way, we love Durango Station.
- 16:19Speaker 3: It's so nice.
- 16:20Speaker 1: They call it Durango.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I love Red Rock, too. I think... Just because they
- 16:24Speaker 1: threw me off of the app for being a winning
- 16:26Speaker 1: player doesn't mean I can't talk good about the different things.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:31Speaker 1: The properties are great, great places, and And still one
- 16:35Speaker 1: of your hangouts. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Still one of your hangouts.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I've never set foot in the Silverton. Oh.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Have you? Yeah. Yeah, it's okay. Yeah? Yeah, it's a
- 16:43Speaker 1: big local place.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Is there a sportsbook?
- 16:45Speaker 1: A couple good restaurants there. Who's their sportsbook connected to?
- 16:48Speaker 1: I don't even know.
- 16:49Speaker 3: You don't bet there?
- 16:50Speaker 1: No.
- 16:50Speaker 3: It's Circa at Silverton? Oh, wow.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Oh, Silverton Circa. Wait, I'm wrong. I'm wrong. I'm wrong.
- 16:56Speaker 1: It is Circa now, and I have been in there
- 16:58Speaker 1: because you can just go in there and park right close.
- 17:01Speaker 1: You don't have to go downtown here for the sportsbook. Silverton,
- 17:05Speaker 1: and they also have one at Tuscany, right? Is that
- 17:07Speaker 1: the tree in town?
- 17:07Speaker 3: J-H with the 411. I like it.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Good man. Tuscany is a great location, too. You can
- 17:13Speaker 1: just park, walk right in to Circa Sportsbook. But Circa
- 17:16Speaker 1: is in Silverton. I absolutely forgot. I've been to that
- 17:20Speaker 1: sportsbook many a time. It's a cool little quaint sportsbook.
- 17:23Speaker 1: over there, and I just forgot. I thought it was
- 17:25Speaker 1: like William Hill. I didn't want to give them no
- 17:27Speaker 1: press because, you know, they blocked me, by the way.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Really?
- 17:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. They blocked me on Twitter. I blocked
- 17:33Speaker 1: them back.
- 17:34Speaker 3: That's hilarious.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Stop that. We don't want any winners. Get
- 17:37Speaker 1: out of here. Yeah. You know, I had the thing
- 17:42Speaker 1: from Matt. You know, I teased Matt last week about
- 17:45Speaker 1: driving all over the country, Matt Chapros. Yeah. You know, driving. Sorry.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Let's say this right. flying all over the world.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:52Speaker 1: And, you know, first class private jets.
- 17:54Speaker 3: He flies private, right? Yeah, he flies private.
- 17:56Speaker 1: So, yeah, he's got big family money. I'll keep on
- 17:59Speaker 1: saying that. If he doesn't like it, it's great. So
- 18:02Speaker 1: he liked the bonus episode last week. I gave him a,
- 18:05Speaker 1: I did an interview with a guy, Jay Cohen, which
- 18:06Speaker 1: is also up on YouTube. Yeah, I saw it. Did
- 18:09Speaker 1: an interview there. Incredible story of history, you know, history
- 18:13Speaker 1: of his days offshore. And, yeah, just really, really interesting
- 18:19Speaker 1: how how much trouble this guy went through. He was
- 18:21Speaker 1: making so much money. He was making, you know, seven
- 18:24Speaker 1: figures a year on the stock exchange. He left to
- 18:26Speaker 1: open up the first, let's just call it what it was.
- 18:28Speaker 1: It was the Cauchy and Poly market, the prediction markets,
- 18:31Speaker 1: before they were, back in the late 90s, early 2000s. So, unfortunately,
- 18:37Speaker 1: he was out of the country in Antigua, and the
- 18:38Speaker 1: government here hated he was dealing with the United States,
- 18:40Speaker 1: and they closed him down. Well, they didn't close him down.
- 18:45Speaker 1: They locked him up. He came back to fight the charges.
- 18:48Speaker 1: They locked him up, and he went to jail over
- 18:50Speaker 1: at Nellis here for a couple of years. And he
- 18:53Speaker 1: doesn't even have a citizenship now, he pulled. And his dad,
- 18:56Speaker 1: like 92 years old, lives in the States, and he
- 18:59Speaker 1: can't even come back and see his dad. It's really sad.
- 19:01Speaker 1: He did his time, and they got some money off
- 19:04Speaker 1: him and stuff. But anyway, that was an interview I did.
- 19:07Speaker 1: You guys want to check that out. He owned World
- 19:10Speaker 1: Sports Exchange, him and his partner. The day it closed,
- 19:12Speaker 1: his partner killed himself. Yeah, Steve.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Wow.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Steve committed suicide the day they closed. So really, really
- 19:18Speaker 1: sad story there. But it's on YouTube if you guys
- 19:23Speaker 1: want to check it out over on Wager Talk's page.
- 19:26Speaker 1: So let's look at this ticket, though. This week's ticket,
- 19:28Speaker 1: this is a revisit from the eight-leg parlay. $ 20. To
- 19:33Speaker 1: win $ 15, 000 over on WagerWire.com and the WagerWire app. So crazy. Now,
- 19:38Speaker 1: they're down to their last leg. They've won so many UFC.
- 19:43Speaker 1: So many UFC. Look at this. Paddy Pimlet was an underdog.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Put to Benoit St. St. Denis. St. Denis. Yep. As
- 19:52Speaker 1: a 150 dog. But they won all these different. Seven
- 19:54Speaker 1: legs have been won. They're down to one. One leg.
- 19:59Speaker 3: One leg. Dodgers to win the World Series.
- 20:00Speaker 1: No, no, no, no. They're down to the Cy Young.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Oh.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Mizorowski. Am I saying his name right?
- 20:09Speaker 3: He's going to win.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Well, maybe you should sell now. It's the end of that.
- 20:15Speaker 1: You got the black cat of black cats.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Come on. Who else is going to win it? He's
- 20:18Speaker 3: winning it.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Honestly, even he said this is basically a done deal. Yeah.
- 20:23Speaker 1: As long as he can make it to the finish line.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Yeah. That guy's been lights out.
- 20:28Speaker 1: He's never pitched more than 130 innings in a season.
- 20:30Speaker 3: He's at 145 already.
- 20:34Speaker 1: He's headed into the start. I think he starts today.
- 20:37Speaker 1: The Brewers in a battle for number one, so it's
- 20:40Speaker 1: unlikely they shut him down.
- 20:41Speaker 3: No, they're not shutting him down.
- 20:42Speaker 1: They're not shutting him down ahead of the playoffs. He's
- 20:45Speaker 1: probably going to win. We know it. So this $ 20
- 20:48Speaker 1: to win $ 15, 370 is actually worth right now $ 14, 345. So
- 20:50Speaker 1: do you take a risk of giving someone $ 14, 000? $ 345, 000
- 21:03Speaker 1: to win $ 900? Is it that big of a lock
- 21:07Speaker 1: that he wins? After you said it, no, but besides that.
- 21:11Speaker 3: When you say it like that.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I'm not paying $ 14, 000 for your $ 345, 000. Good luck, kid.
- 21:17Speaker 1: We wish you the best. But I'm going to say
- 21:20Speaker 1: this is a no-buy for me. Even though everyone's saying
- 21:24Speaker 1: it's easy, it's basically done.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Yeah, there's robberies sometimes, right?
- 21:27Speaker 1: Sometimes things happen that are, you know.
- 21:29Speaker 3: People get snubbed.
- 21:30Speaker 1: We see events go down the wrong way.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:34Speaker 1: You ever watch one of your fights and say, this
- 21:36Speaker 1: guy definitely won? Constantly. All the time. I know boxing
- 21:39Speaker 1: was like that for years.
- 21:40Speaker 2: It's like, what fight are the judges watching sometimes?
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, anyway, we're going to say no
- 21:46Speaker 1: to this one. But there's a great, great marketplace over there. WagerWire.com
- 21:51Speaker 1: and the WagerWire app.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Now, Bill, you've talked about this before.
- 21:55Speaker 2: When you see something like that, $ 20 up to $ 15K,
- 21:58Speaker 2: I know you're against the parlay, but those are okay $ 20, no?
- 22:03Speaker 3: Or are you saying it just adds up?
- 22:05Speaker 1: For me, it adds up. The $ 20.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Is a college kid, whatever, does that 100 times at $ 20.
- 22:09Speaker 1: John, perfect example. Let's say you're playing a poker tournament. Yep. Okay?
- 22:14Speaker 1: This is going to draw a parallel, but maybe not really.
- 22:18Speaker 1: A poker tournament that you have an overlay in or something.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Not even an overlay. You do play in the overlays.
- 22:24Speaker 1: It's a good edge. But let's say you're playing in
- 22:27Speaker 1: a poker tournament. That's a senior tournament. You think it's
- 22:30Speaker 1: a good value.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Senior tournament today at Venetian.
- 22:32Speaker 1: You think it's a good value. How much money?
- 22:33Speaker 3: $ 300.
- 22:34Speaker 1: All right. $ 300 senior tournament. There's going to be guys
- 22:37Speaker 1: your age. Yeah. Which you just turned. You just barely
- 22:40Speaker 1: went over the senior age. I'm just saying that it's
- 22:42Speaker 1: an edge.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Maybe to play with someone that's 80.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Right.
- 22:45Speaker 1: You know, maybe to play someone that's not.
- 22:47Speaker 3: I feel the difference.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Nothing to do with them being old. Maybe they're not
- 22:50Speaker 1: as schooled as much in poker as you have been.
- 22:52Speaker 3: The game's changed a little bit.
- 22:53Speaker 1: The game's changed a little bit or something like that.
- 22:55Speaker 1: And I love when I see one of the old
- 22:57Speaker 1: guys win.
- 22:57Speaker 3: When they get short late in the day... Yeah.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Get a little tired all in.
- 23:01Speaker 3: They do just go.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Let me get out. Yeah. Okay. I'm done. So... I
- 23:07Speaker 1: think if you bust early, you get cracked by... They
- 23:10Speaker 1: have a pair of 10s, and you have aces, and
- 23:13Speaker 1: they beat you. Yep. Big flop of 10, and you're
- 23:16Speaker 1: out of the tournament now. So now what do you do? Sometimes,
- 23:21Speaker 1: especially you, with people, you'll go out to the casino
- 23:24Speaker 1: and play blackjack, bonus bets or side bets. You shouldn't
- 23:27Speaker 1: do that. Correct. Parleys, you shouldn't do it. You should
- 23:30Speaker 1: stick with straight bets. It's a better mathematical game than
- 23:33Speaker 1: the side bets. Right. But... I know people that cannot,
- 23:38Speaker 1: cannot play a poker tournament or go out and play
- 23:42Speaker 1: poker without hitting the table games first or a slot
- 23:45Speaker 1: machine first. And that's why I laugh when I see
- 23:48Speaker 1: these people saying, oh, we're getting rid of the poker room.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Get rid of the poker room.
- 23:53Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 23:54Speaker 1: How do you get rid of the poker room? It
- 23:55Speaker 1: brings so many people in for other areas. 100%.
- 23:58Speaker 3: And for other things.
- 24:00Speaker 1: So, John, I want to read something that... Someone sent
- 24:03Speaker 1: to me. You know, it's often one of those maybe
- 24:05Speaker 1: Facebook posts and people retweet. I almost said retweet it
- 24:10Speaker 1: because I don't really do Facebook. I had it, but
- 24:12Speaker 1: I don't really do it that often. So I like
- 24:15Speaker 1: this thing. It's a little bit long. Let me read it, though,
- 24:17Speaker 1: because people are going to get it that watch the show.
- 24:19Speaker 1: We have a crowd that's a little bit older crowd
- 24:21Speaker 1: or our age. And I grew up in Kingsburg, New Jersey,
- 24:26Speaker 1: by the way. but never thought I was raised by
- 24:28Speaker 1: low-slash-middle-income parents during a time when most everyone treated each
- 24:33Speaker 1: other with respect. We didn't eat a lot of fast
- 24:35Speaker 1: food because that was considered a treat, not a food group.
- 24:39Speaker 1: We drank orange tang Kool-Aid made from water that came
- 24:42Speaker 1: from our kitchen sinks with real sugar. We ate bologna sandwiches,
- 24:46Speaker 1: even tuna, which was, you know, in a can, not
- 24:49Speaker 1: out of a pouch. Peanut butter and jelly, grilled cheese,
- 24:52Speaker 1: hot dogs, pot pies, mostly homemade meals considered mainly of
- 24:56Speaker 1: you know, meat and potatoes. Bread and butter, homemade stuff.
- 25:00Speaker 1: We didn't have money in the town I grew up in.
- 25:03Speaker 1: But we didn't know. Both my parents worked. My mother
- 25:05Speaker 1: worked two jobs. My father worked two jobs to give
- 25:07Speaker 1: us a better life and living like they did. So
- 25:10Speaker 1: we grew up during a time where we mowed lawns,
- 25:13Speaker 1: pulled weeds, babysat, helped neighbors with chores, be able to
- 25:16Speaker 1: earn our own money, went outside to play a lot
- 25:18Speaker 1: of games, ride bikes, Red Rover, dodgeball, run with siblings
- 25:22Speaker 1: and friends, and played hide-and-seek. That was one of our
- 25:25Speaker 1: big games. We drank tap water from the hoses. Now, granted,
- 25:29Speaker 1: this is me, not John and Beverly Hills, but this
- 25:31Speaker 1: is me, how I grew up, really.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Come on, I drank tap water out of a hose.
- 25:34Speaker 1: You never drank tap water.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Out of a hose.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Of course I did. Okay. A bottle of water was
- 25:37Speaker 1: unheard of as a kid.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Am I right? Unheard of.
- 25:40Speaker 1: My grandmother and even my mom would say, you're paying
- 25:42Speaker 1: for bottled water and glass. And if we had a Coke,
- 25:46Speaker 1: it was in a glass jar. It's true. We watched
- 25:50Speaker 1: TV shows that we were raised on. Happy days. I
- 25:53Speaker 1: loved Brady Bunch. I watched these shows.
- 25:56Speaker 3: I love Lucy.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I love Lucy, Gilligan's Island, Leave it to Beaver, Bonanza, whatever, Bewitched,
- 26:01Speaker 1: Little House on the Prairie. After school, we came home.
- 26:04Speaker 1: We did homework, chores for going outside, having our friends over.
- 26:09Speaker 1: We would ride our bikes for hours. I loved riding
- 26:11Speaker 1: my bike. Me too. I loved it.
- 26:13Speaker 3: How many times did you have an accident?
- 26:15Speaker 1: Accidents.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Oh, tear up your knee.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Tear up your knee, but... What are you going to do?
- 26:18Speaker 1: You came back from it. You were riding it the
- 26:19Speaker 1: next day. 100%. We've got to tell our parents where
- 26:22Speaker 1: we were going, who we're going with, and what time
- 26:24Speaker 1: we'd be back. You learn from your parents instead of
- 26:26Speaker 1: disrespecting them and treating them as if they know absolutely nothing.
- 26:30Speaker 1: What they said was the law, and you did not
- 26:33Speaker 1: question them.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Any adult.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Any adult. You did not question. You knew better. You know,
- 26:37Speaker 1: when the sun was starting to set, you better be home.
- 26:39Speaker 1: In school, we said the Pledge of Allegiance. We stood
- 26:41Speaker 1: for the national anthem. Listened to our teachers. We watched
- 26:45Speaker 1: what was said around our elders because we knew if
- 26:48Speaker 1: we disrespected any grown-up, we can get our behinds whipped.
- 26:53Speaker 1: It wasn't called abuse. It was called discipline. We held doors,
- 26:57Speaker 1: carried groceries, gave up a seat for older people without
- 27:00Speaker 1: being asked. You didn't hear curse words on the radio
- 27:03Speaker 1: and in songs on TV. That's John. And if you cursed,
- 27:06Speaker 1: you got caught. You had a bar of soap stuck
- 27:08Speaker 1: in your mouth. Well, that really wasn't me, but I
- 27:10Speaker 1: did go to Catholic school when I was real little,
- 27:12Speaker 1: and we did have nuns that were very tough back
- 27:14Speaker 1: in second grade. I remember that. I had to stand
- 27:16Speaker 1: in the corner.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Do you remember having to write like a... I will
- 27:21Speaker 2: not use bad language. I will not use bad language
- 27:23Speaker 2: like a hundred times or whatever.
- 27:24Speaker 1: You'd have to do that as a punishment. Yes, thank you. Yes, ma'am. Please. Yes, sir.
- 27:29Speaker 1: A part of our daily vocabulary. I grew up to
- 27:31Speaker 1: respect the nation, the flag, and that was long. No,
- 27:35Speaker 1: I like that. But I've seen that, and I wanted
- 27:37Speaker 1: to reread it because sometimes you get lost.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Times have changed.
- 27:40Speaker 1: All the things that we do and stuff, you get
- 27:42Speaker 1: lost a little bit.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Bill, how about this?
- 27:43Speaker 2: Do you remember, like, getting dropped off at the mall
- 27:46Speaker 2: with your friends?
- 27:46Speaker 1: Of course.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Or going there with your parents and your friends, and
- 27:50Speaker 2: the parents would go shopping.
- 27:51Speaker 1: We'd meet in a couple hours.
- 27:52Speaker 3: And they do. Meet right back. Sync your watches up.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Meet right back here at 3. Right. Right back here, right?
- 27:59Speaker 2: Right.
- 28:00Speaker 1: So true. Yeah. John, we went to the Italian American
- 28:04Speaker 1: Club the other night. Yes. So good, isn't it? Again,
- 28:07Speaker 1: I know we plug them every week. Guys, and everyone
- 28:09Speaker 1: that says to me, Bill, thank you for telling me
- 28:11Speaker 1: about the Italian American Club.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:13Speaker 1: We went there again the other night. I mean, it's
- 28:15Speaker 1: just such a, not only some of the best homemade
- 28:19Speaker 1: food in town. Some of the most reasonable food in town.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:22Speaker 1: And I go to these strip restaurants. You know, last
- 28:25Speaker 1: night I went, a piece of fish was $ 170 at
- 28:28Speaker 1: a restaurant I went to last night.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Last night?
- 28:32Speaker 1: Yeah, for a piece of fish. One of the restaurants
- 28:34Speaker 1: I like. I don't want to throw them under the bus.
- 28:36Speaker 1: I mean, Dover Soul. Table side Dover Soul. You can
- 28:39Speaker 1: go to Michael's, Carbone, anywhere. It's $ 150. It's just, I
- 28:42Speaker 1: just think of.
- 28:44Speaker 1: You get a beautiful bowl of pasta for $ 25 over there.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Veal parmesan or chicken parmesan for $ 35, $ 32. And it's great.
- 28:51Speaker 3: It's great.
- 28:52Speaker 1: The ambiance is great. Homemade sauce, ambiance. It's a good spot.
- 28:55Speaker 1: You're back in the 60s. We went the other night. But, John,
- 28:58Speaker 1: this has happened to me. You go in a restaurant sometimes,
- 29:03Speaker 1: and when you go in, sometimes— I don't mean to
- 29:09Speaker 1: be gross, but a food cook, maybe didn't wash his hands.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I was in, like, Howard Beach, Queens, which Howard Beach
- 29:17Speaker 1: is known to be a town of very important people
- 29:22Speaker 1: in a certain genre, as you guys know. Like, John
- 29:26Speaker 1: Gotti lived there. I think the house is still there.
- 29:29Speaker 1: So they have these places along the water. They're really nice.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I was in a restroom. I had to meet someone
- 29:34Speaker 1: in a restroom. I watched a guy come out of
- 29:37Speaker 1: the stall with a cook uniform on and went right
- 29:39Speaker 1: out the door. I said, that's it. I walked out,
- 29:42Speaker 1: got done washing my hands, went. I told the buddy, listen,
- 29:44Speaker 1: we got to get out of here. I just seen
- 29:45Speaker 1: a cook come out of the stall, did not wash
- 29:47Speaker 1: his hands in the bathroom. I'm nuts like that. I
- 29:49Speaker 1: got to leave. Yeah. So it happened a second time
- 29:53Speaker 1: to me. I'm not going to say where in town
- 29:56Speaker 1: over the weekend. And I said, oh, how can you not?
- 30:00Speaker 1: How can you not? And this is a chain here
- 30:02Speaker 1: in town that's a very popular breakfast chain. How can
- 30:05Speaker 1: you not tell your employees they have to? There's signs there. Right.
- 30:09Speaker 1: When they get hired, you have to tell them it.
- 30:12Speaker 1: You have to tell them.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:13Speaker 1: You know, it happened to me the other day. There's
- 30:16Speaker 1: a Seinfeld scene. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Poppy's going to make
- 30:19Speaker 1: something special for you. Yeah. And, you know, he comes
- 30:22Speaker 1: out of the bed and doesn't wash his hands with
- 30:24Speaker 1: the dough. He's, oh, I'm going to make something special,
- 30:26Speaker 1: you know. Oh, God. Just a funny thing. There was
- 30:31Speaker 1: a wrongly arrested Peppermill guest at the Peppermill Casino, not
- 30:36Speaker 1: the restaurant here in town. In Reno? No, I think
- 30:38Speaker 1: they had it in Reno. Yeah. So a Nevada man
- 30:42Speaker 1: was falsely arrested. The facial recognition picked him up as
- 30:47Speaker 1: somebody else, as you see there. That's the real guy,
- 30:50Speaker 1: and that's the guy. He looks like him.
- 30:52Speaker 3: It's fair.
- 30:52Speaker 1: They look like him. And he was thrown out of
- 30:54Speaker 1: the casino. It was flagged by property surveillance system and
- 30:58Speaker 1: their facial recognition. So now he is very upset at this,
- 31:03Speaker 1: the way they treated him. He was misidentified. I don't
- 31:06Speaker 1: know if that's a proper word. And he said, the
- 31:10Speaker 1: cop that came in there, he told him, he said,
- 31:11Speaker 1: I'm misidentified. Look at my name. Look at my thing.
- 31:13Speaker 1: They said, no, you have fake ID. They didn't even
- 31:15Speaker 1: trust him.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 31:17Speaker 1: So facial recognition for as good as we are with
- 31:20Speaker 1: all these AI and everything. Sure. Could be wrong sometimes.
- 31:23Speaker 1: He has a court case. He has a legal case. Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 1: He has a legal case here, and I read that,
- 31:29Speaker 1: and I just said, wow. Sometimes these people, even the
- 31:33Speaker 1: fingerprint check, you throw them out. You're treating them like
- 31:36Speaker 1: a criminal here. Before you're starting to arrest people, make
- 31:41Speaker 1: sure you have the right guy.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Because that's a serious thing.
- 31:43Speaker 1: That's very serious, in my opinion.
- 31:46Speaker 3: He'll win that one.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I've talked about these casinos down in Baltimore. Excuse me
- 31:51Speaker 1: for calling them casinos. They're gambling arcades. And that's how
- 31:56Speaker 1: it's set up. It even says the word Caesars on it. Arcade.
- 31:59Speaker 1: It says arcade, though. It doesn't say casino. These are
- 32:01Speaker 1: all over Florida. I've seen them when I was down
- 32:03Speaker 1: in Florida. I've seen them in multiple places that someone
- 32:07Speaker 1: took me in all different towns in Florida. But they've
- 32:12Speaker 1: cracked down on them the last couple of years to
- 32:14Speaker 1: close these down. It's real simple. They're gambling establishments. You're gambling,
- 32:20Speaker 1: but they're not regulated by any gaming council or committee. So, like,
- 32:24Speaker 1: here in Nevada, I think it's 85%. A machine has
- 32:26Speaker 1: to pay 85%. Some are set much higher than that. Like,
- 32:29Speaker 1: dollar machines are $ 5 or $ 10, $ 25. They're set 95%
- 32:31Speaker 1: or 92%, but most of the penny machines are in
- 32:32Speaker 1: the 80s. So... But at least during the 80s, these
- 32:39Speaker 1: machines have no regulation. They could be set to 10%. Right. Literally.
- 32:43Speaker 1: There's nothing at all. So officials have seized over $ 14. 4
- 32:47Speaker 1: million in cash. Thousands of illegal slot machines since 2025.
- 32:51Speaker 1: And people have.
- 32:52Speaker 3: No chance of winning.
- 32:53Speaker 1: People have no chance.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Literally no chance.
- 32:56Speaker 1: But this is how... There's got to be a better word.
- 32:59Speaker 1: I don't want to say... They're not stupid or anything.
- 33:03Speaker 1: They're just maybe bored. a lot of the seniors are
- 33:06Speaker 1: pushing back against a statewide crackdown, saying they like going
- 33:09Speaker 1: to them. That's something to do for today. The storefronts
- 33:12Speaker 1: are virtual social hubs, even as regulators target them for
- 33:16Speaker 1: operating illegal slot machines.
- 33:17Speaker 3: It's so crazy.
- 33:18Speaker 1: But it's amazing that the seniors, some of them are mad,
- 33:22Speaker 1: but there's casinos all over Florida now, especially southeastern Florida.
- 33:27Speaker 1: But I even think when I was driving across the state,
- 33:30Speaker 1: I went to Tampa, of course, but then there's a
- 33:32Speaker 1: poker room in like Fort Myers slash Naples, poker room there.
- 33:38Speaker 1: And then there, I drove through the center of the
- 33:40Speaker 1: state because I wanted to check out, someone told me
- 33:41Speaker 1: there's great bonus machines in there. It was Immokalee. It's
- 33:45Speaker 1: a giant casino in the middle of nowhere. I couldn't
- 33:47Speaker 1: believe it. 45 minutes from like Fort Myers, an hour
- 33:51Speaker 1: from Fort Myers, inland between, you know, going across the state,
- 33:55Speaker 1: and you can catch Alligator Alley from there. But I
- 33:58Speaker 1: couldn't believe the size of this casino that was there.
- 34:01Speaker 1: And even across Alligator Alley, there's a little casino they
- 34:04Speaker 1: built recently. Very small, but it's like a truck stop.
- 34:07Speaker 1: So it's just amazing that the seniors, you know, I
- 34:13Speaker 1: want to give you one of the quotes of one
- 34:14Speaker 1: of the seniors. Who wants to sit in front of
- 34:17Speaker 1: a TV for eight hours? It's more like a little
- 34:18Speaker 1: social club or community of people. Florida senior Linda Pregno
- 34:23Speaker 1: told WINK News in Fort Myers. There's a lot of
- 34:26Speaker 1: them at Fort Myers, too. Anyway, it's like an arcade,
- 34:30Speaker 1: but it's illegal gambling. You're putting real money in, and
- 34:32Speaker 1: you're getting money out. I know they're really cracking down
- 34:35Speaker 1: on them. John, I want to talk about one of
- 34:39Speaker 1: your guys, Shug Knight.
- 34:41Speaker 3: Shug Knight.
- 34:41Speaker 1: That's one of your guys. Am I saying the name right?
- 34:43Speaker 1: Suge Knight.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Suge.
- 34:44Speaker 1: I think he's in jail, right?
- 34:45Speaker 3: He is not one of my guys.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Yeah, he's in jail. He's in jail. Okay. So there's
- 34:49Speaker 1: this case now about Tupac. Now this guy in town
- 34:53Speaker 1: wrote a book and talked about the situation. He arrested him,
- 34:58Speaker 1: got himself arrested as one of the shooters of Suge
- 35:02Speaker 1: Knight in the car, supplied the gun, whatever it may be.
- 35:07Speaker 1: So Suge Knight said this week, people don't know this.
- 35:11Speaker 1: But we actually smoked Tupac Shakur's ashes in a room
- 35:16Speaker 1: in Las Vegas. Stop. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They smoked in
- 35:20Speaker 1: a Las Vegas casino hotel room. So, Marion Chug Knight
- 35:23Speaker 1: claimed in a new interview that Tupac Shakur's ashes were
- 35:27Speaker 1: rolled into blunts and smoked by friends and family in
- 35:29Speaker 1: a Las Vegas hotel room after his death. Knight claimed
- 35:32Speaker 1: he paid a funeral worker a million dollars in cash
- 35:36Speaker 1: to expedite his cremation remains. The bizarre allegations briefly overshadowed
- 35:40Speaker 1: the headlines generated by the trial of Dwayne Keith D. Davis.
- 35:46Speaker 1: for Shakur's murder, which began this week in Vegas. But, yeah.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Is that even possible? That sounds crazy. Yeah. According to
- 35:55Speaker 1: many people here, I guess you can just throw it
- 35:57Speaker 1: in the... I got to be blunt. I'm saying the
- 36:00Speaker 1: word blunt, and I'm talking about blunts. I don't even
- 36:02Speaker 1: know what a blunt is. So a blunt is a
- 36:04Speaker 1: rolling paper, or no, a brown rolling paper. It's just
- 36:07Speaker 1: a different type of a rolling paper. They call it
- 36:08Speaker 1: a blunt, but it's a marijuana cigarette, right? I guess.
- 36:12Speaker 3: We're both looking at GH.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Oh, it's a tobacco leaf. Oh, there you go.
- 36:17Speaker 3: But it's like stronger than a cigarette.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Is a tobacco leaf stronger than a... We're clueless. Clueless.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I'm going to start smoking and drinking and everything. Count
- 36:29Speaker 1: me down a little. So they were rolled into blunts
- 36:32Speaker 1: and smoked by friends in a hotel room shortly after
- 36:35Speaker 1: his death in 1996. And how about this? Knight said...
- 36:40Speaker 1: The scene unfolded in a hotel room rented by Tupac's mother.
- 36:44Speaker 1: And the name A-F-E-N-I, Afeni Shakur, soon after her son died,
- 36:48Speaker 1: the most likely location, the Golden Nugget down here. So
- 36:51Speaker 1: we're talking all these things about the Golden Nugget. The
- 36:53Speaker 1: Golden Nugget goes down in history again.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Who knew?
- 36:56Speaker 1: For another thing.
- 36:57Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Tupac's biological father, Billy Gerard, oh, I'm sorry, Billy Garland,
- 37:02Speaker 1: claimed he met Afani one night before. standing Tupac Shakur
- 37:08Speaker 1: at that golden nugget. That's the reason why they wanted
- 37:10Speaker 1: to do it there. So, yeah. And she was, I guess,
- 37:15Speaker 1: part of this or something. I just thought that was
- 37:18Speaker 1: pretty shocking, right? Beyond shocking.
- 37:20Speaker 3: I don't know how I feel about that.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Yeah. It's pretty crazy. I didn't know. I mean, I
- 37:26Speaker 1: guess if you can mix it in with marijuana, I guess.
- 37:29Speaker 1: But wouldn't it? Isn't that funky?
- 37:31Speaker 3: It seems crazy to me.
- 37:32Speaker 1: You're taking his ashes and you're taking it inside of you?
- 37:36Speaker 1: I don't know. Oh, you know, speaking of that, John
- 37:39Speaker 1: and I don't drink. Because we do stuff every day.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Every day we have shows. And I have sports bets
- 37:46Speaker 1: to get in. You know, we're literally, I have to
- 37:49Speaker 1: have a fresh mind every morning. I can't be, and
- 37:52Speaker 1: I just never did, even in high school. I never did.
- 37:56Speaker 1: John and I both did partake in a drink the
- 37:59Speaker 1: other night, though. We did. I did a little taste
- 38:01Speaker 1: of it.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Like a shot.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:03Speaker 3: I drank the whole thing.
- 38:03Speaker 1: You drank the whole thing. Because, you know, the owner
- 38:05Speaker 1: of the Italian American coming over, bringing us shots it's
- 38:08Speaker 1: not nice to not to say no right right right
- 38:10Speaker 1: so I took a little taste of it you did
- 38:12Speaker 1: the whole thing.
- 38:12Speaker 2: I did the whole thing it was terrible a lemon cello.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Lemon cello is the name of it maybe you guys
- 38:18Speaker 1: know it better than me I guess it's an after
- 38:20Speaker 1: drink liqueur I guess so not a fan but yeah
- 38:24Speaker 1: so we did do we did a great cheesecake though Oh, yeah. Oh, great.
- 38:28Speaker 1: What did you have for your meal? Did you have
- 38:29Speaker 1: chicken parm? Chicken parm. Yeah, John's a chicken parm guy.
- 38:31Speaker 3: So good.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Good, right?
- 38:32Speaker 3: Yeah. And I only ate half of it because they
- 38:35Speaker 3: give you so much.
- 38:35Speaker 1: And you guys didn't do the beans and greens at
- 38:37Speaker 1: the beginning.
- 38:38Speaker 3: I'm not a beans and greens.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Well, you probably know what it is, so that's why.
- 38:41Speaker 1: It's escarole and beans. Back in the day, it was
- 38:44Speaker 1: a peasant dish. Now, it's like so good. If you
- 38:48Speaker 1: taste it, you realize it's so good. It's something that
- 38:52Speaker 1: a lot of good Italian restaurants will have.
- 38:53Speaker 3: All right.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Oh, you know what I had last? No, what night
- 38:55Speaker 1: it was? Monday night. Over at South Point, I had
- 39:02Speaker 1: something I've only had at Mother Wolf, those zucchini flours.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Have you ever had one of them? No. It's the
- 39:06Speaker 1: flour of the zucchini stuffed with ricotta cheese, lightly fried,
- 39:10Speaker 1: real light.
- 39:11Speaker 3: Where did you have that, Don Vito?
- 39:12Speaker 1: I had it at Don Vito's. And just as good
- 39:15Speaker 1: as Mother Wolf. It's a good place. Yeah, Don Vito's
- 39:17Speaker 1: was great. Monday night's there. There's another plug for them guys.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Monday night you can do... If you use your points,
- 39:24Speaker 1: it's half price. Any restaurant. You can go to Michael's
- 39:27Speaker 1: and it's half price. So any restaurant... is half price
- 39:31Speaker 1: but you know what i'm a little bit mad that
- 39:32Speaker 1: i bring the thing i might not have brought the
- 39:34Speaker 1: brochure i'm a little mad at them right now oh
- 39:36Speaker 1: boy i didn't bring it i wanted to i wanted
- 39:38Speaker 1: to go after south point for a second to me
- 39:40Speaker 1: i listen i'm i'm mad that so i don't like
- 39:44Speaker 1: the way the south point comp system works So, South Point,
- 39:49Speaker 1: if you win playing video poker or win at something,
- 39:53Speaker 1: you get penalized. Like, one time I went to the
- 39:56Speaker 1: host desk and asked for a comp, and I just
- 39:59Speaker 1: lost $ 1, 000 playing video poker. Right. I said, yeah, but $ 1, 000
- 40:02Speaker 1: is a lot of money in a casino to lose
- 40:04Speaker 1: in one sitting, especially a local property. Sure. But I
- 40:07Speaker 1: was playing for promotional gift cards. They had Walmart gift
- 40:09Speaker 1: cards at the time. But I lose sometimes. You know,
- 40:13Speaker 1: I lost. And they said, yeah, you lose. You won $ 4, 000
- 40:16Speaker 1: last month. We can't give you a comp this month.
- 40:18Speaker 1: And so you lose the money back. Wait, wait, wait.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Time out.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Actually say that to you.
- 40:23Speaker 1: First of all, I can't believe a host, there's no
- 40:26Speaker 1: other word to say it, would be dumb enough to
- 40:29Speaker 1: tell a, if that is your guidelines to go by. Right.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Imagine if Michael Gaughan knew that his hosts were saying, yeah,
- 40:36Speaker 1: you won $ 4, 000 last month. Even though you lost $ 1, 000 today,
- 40:39Speaker 1: can't give you a buffet, can't give you nothing. I
- 40:40Speaker 1: was just trying to get a coffee shop done. Figured
- 40:43Speaker 1: it was no big deal to get a coffee shop done.
- 40:44Speaker 1: But it's so stupid. So, same thing. They were sending
- 40:50Speaker 1: me $ 75 a week to go in. And the food vouchers. So,
- 40:54Speaker 1: I just used it three months ago. I said, well,
- 40:57Speaker 1: they sent me $ 75. Go in. Use the food voucher.
- 40:59Speaker 1: And I won $ 900. Right? So, I played a lot, though.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Didn't get to go to the... You get $ 75 four
- 41:07Speaker 1: times a month. I only went once during the month.
- 41:09Speaker 1: I didn't go the other time. But I won the $ 900.
- 41:11Speaker 3: And....
- 41:13Speaker 1: The next month, I noticed the offers came in. $ 10.
- 41:17Speaker 1: I was like, wait a minute. You cut my offer down.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I gave you all that volume. You cut my offer
- 41:23Speaker 1: down to $ 10 because I won $ 900. I don't understand
- 41:28Speaker 1: a casino that only... comps you based on your results,
- 41:31Speaker 1: your previous results. Here, a perfect example, John. They have
- 41:35Speaker 1: seniors that go in and they play and what do
- 41:37Speaker 1: they do? They get $ 10. I was getting $ 75 last month.
- 41:40Speaker 1: They go back to Anthem and Seven Hills. All the
- 41:43Speaker 1: country clubs in town. What do you think they talk
- 41:45Speaker 1: about with their dinners and among their groups of meetings
- 41:49Speaker 1: every month? You believe what Sal pointed this to me.
- 41:51Speaker 1: You believe I'm not going there no more. You have
- 41:55Speaker 1: to gamble to make decisions That are gambling-related. That's all
- 41:59Speaker 1: I can tell you. 100%. Yes. Some of the seniors
- 42:02Speaker 1: are going to say, well, I'm going to go. It's
- 42:03Speaker 1: close to my house. Others are going to go to
- 42:05Speaker 1: the M. Others are going to go maybe to Silverton
- 42:09Speaker 1: or Green Valley Ranch. They're going to go somewhere else
- 42:11Speaker 1: just because of what they heard in their meeting.
- 42:13Speaker 3: It's insulting.
- 42:15Speaker 1: It's insulting. Now, I just told you, I love South Point.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Old-school gambling, good video poker payouts, great buffet there for
- 42:23Speaker 1: the prices. Great sports book. I love the sports book there.
- 42:28Speaker 1: I love so many things about South Point. Restaurants are
- 42:31Speaker 1: my favorite, though. Michael's, Don Vito's, great steakhouse, great prime
- 42:35Speaker 1: rib place. So I like to talk very blunt about everything,
- 42:38Speaker 1: and I had to tell you people what I feel,
- 42:40Speaker 1: and maybe it gets to somebody at South Point. Trust me,
- 42:43Speaker 1: I can't see Michael gone chasing players away because they
- 42:46Speaker 1: hit a jackpot last month.
- 42:48Speaker 3: So crazy.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Crazy. We'll see you next week on Wisecracks.
