Won't he do it? Won't he do it? 7evenThirty: What's the name of this? Won't he do it? Yeah. PropJosh: Won't he do it? A faith another faith based movie. We did a faith based movie last time. So we're going through all the faith based movies. the to be face faith based movies. And I'm gonna tell you right now, this might be be this is starting to become my favorite genre. jason: my goodness. Faith based rated MA Yes. To be face based movies is your favorite genre of faith based movies? PropJosh: My favorite genre of to be movies right now is the faith based movies. 7evenThirty: I'm I'm so glad I saw this. jason: Yeah. Yeah, so the director is the writer, director, and he's done some of the music. Yeah, producer. Brandon T. Lee. Yep, he did everything. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think he did all that. So y'all warned me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shout out. we en we enjoyed it. So just 7evenThirty: producing. that's him on the music too. The rap ain't there's like some raps or something going on? PropJosh: Brandon Brandon T the 7evenThirty: This is his Renaissance project. PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha ha. jason: As we as you prepare to listen to our review, we're gonna talk about it. But this was this was there's a lot to cover. There's a lot to cover. let's just jump right into this thing. So we talk about this 7evenThirty: Okay. We enjoyed it, but th there's a lot to cover. PropJosh: Yes, there is. yes, yes. jason: So yeah, I think I texted you guys when I first started it. Yeah. Y'all watched it before I did. You who found this? Okay. All right. Okay. PropJosh: So yeah, we start off with Crystal the doll. Yeah. 7evenThirty: Our favorite, yeah. PropJosh: Marcus. Marcus always finds it. 7evenThirty: Me. Tori asked Is Crystal Dawn still your favorite tube reactress? I was like, Of course. Yeah. Right. Right. I think she's getting better at showing some range, you know what I'm saying? jason: After this movie? PropJosh: She always will be. jason: This was this was a different character. Like I mean, this was a good character. She's playing a Crackhead before. PropJosh: Yeah, she has. 7evenThirty: No, but she nails it on this. It's like it's believable. Like right here, she's visible she's she's desperate right here. jason: This one, yeah. PropJosh: She really does. So what's crazy is What's crazy is that's her actual daughter. jason: Mm-hmm. Really? 7evenThirty: That's what I thought. Yeah, yeah, I thought they favored a lot. Yeah, yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I was I was like that gotta be like her real daughter or something. PropJosh: Yeah, that's her actual daughter. I mean you can kinda see that they kinda look alike. jason: Wow. Mm. Okay. That's interesting. PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: acting debut. Or or may maybe not. Maybe maybe she got her in something else. PropJosh: Probably. jason: They had to put her they be putting people, you know, when they write needed kids. She probably could have been a background character before, but this was a major role for her this time. So PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, she had a big part. So so what's happening in the scene? jason: Yeah, this movie's not too long. Yeah, go ahead, Mark. Tell us what's going on. 7evenThirty: Yeah, y'all be waiting till I take a bite of food and ask me a question. Y'all gonna stop doing this. jason: goodness. PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha. jason: All right. So Crystal the Doll, I forget her name. She's a crackhead. And so she goes to her supplier to get her fix. And she ain't got no money. And so he's like, you know, I can't help you. And she was like, You I'm good for it. You know I'm good for it. And he was like, nah, you know, I can't, you know, I can't be doing it. And then, you know, she do whatever crackhead says. PropJosh: Suck your dick. jason: And he was like that is that is what home letter said the same thing. Yep. Yes. That's yep, on the boys. Yeah, that's it. That's it. He didn't even he started at rock bottom. But he didn't want that. 7evenThirty: It's like the ultimate move of desperation. PropJosh: Yep. That's you know you hit rock bottom. Like Homelander on like Homelander said on the boys. suck your dick. That's how you know. I have to I I 7evenThirty: Homelander immediately hit rock bottom. PropJosh: have to be past bottom to offer in fellatio on anybody. To go that low. jason: Felatio. man. No, nothing's worth that. I don't nothing is worth that. exactly. That's it. Yep, there it is. but yeah, he does he ends up does he ask? Cause he like so she's offered she offers herself 7evenThirty: Right. I guess I'll die. Guess I'm dead. jason: And he was like, I don't want that. PropJosh: He asked yeah, he does ask about her daughter. He's like, How about your daughter? 'Cause she was like, No, that's my daughter. He's like, Well, you want it or not? Yeah. 7evenThirty: Yeah, he specifically requests the daughter. jason: Yeah. So this this kind of reminded me of whatever I forgot that movie when the grandma did the same thing. she offered her she offered no well, probably happened in Riding. It was another movie that we I saw recently. I don't know if we reviewed. Did we review it? I don't think we did. But the grandma I mean this the mama yeah, we did talk about that one. but yeah, the mom is like, all right. 7evenThirty: was that rotten? jason: Go ahead and do do what you can. 'Cause he's like, Hey, look, if you if you let if you let me to with your daughter then I supply you for life. And so, you know, she's like a young teenage girl and yep. 7evenThirty: She's desperate. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah, I think she's supposed to be sixteen. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: And look like she's actually sixteen. 7evenThirty: Right. jason: That's what I was thinking when I was watching the movie. I was like, they actually, for the first time ever, actually got a real, actual child, teenager. But I guess it makes sense. 7evenThirty: played a teenager. PropJosh: But but don't but don't get used to that. 7evenThirty: And then wait, wait a minute. And and then yes. I I I applauded the movie at this time. I was like, wow. Teenage accuracy. Thanks, Tooby, for finally getting it right. jason: Ha ha ha. Yeah, yeah. Yep. PropJosh: Thank you. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: But to be said, hold my beer. jason: goodness. Just a little bit. But this movie it does the classic narration, you know. 7evenThirty: T B say T B say hold my ID. Hold my fake ID. jason: my I D. my goodness. Yep. 7evenThirty: So she started yeah, she started dating the the guy, you know, pretty much exclusively. They they're like a couple, they're like on some R. Kelly shit right now. And then and mm-hmm. jason: But yeah. The grown man supplier. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. jason: Yeah, he getting her ice cream and all that stuff. PropJosh: Yeah, so he looked like he's about he look like he about forty. 7evenThirty: Yeah, he he looks very comfortable. He getting ice cream and everything and they walking off together. Handing her money like these teenagers. jason: Yeah. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Right. It's like sh I know. If you didn't jason: Like they ended like getting in relationship. PropJosh: know no better, it would look like a father-daughter relationship, but it's like, no, it's not. 7evenThirty: Right. It's very if you keep looking it's just kinda inappropriate. I mean very inappropriate. It's starting to be a little bit inappropriate. jason: Yeah. It's war yep, kind of. PropJosh: Just a little bit. Just a little bit. jason: Like man. They definitely represent Detroit. They represent Detroit hardcore. Yep. So yeah, so this yeah. 7evenThirty: Well these folks be re I was about to say they be ripping Detroit in these movies. Three one three what? That do look like a Jackson house though. That look like a house off of off of Mill Street over there. jason: Mm-hmm. Yeah, it does kinda look like that area. Which Detroit, I mean, Detroit does have I mean Jackson has d you know, images, shots that look like Detroit, you know, vice versa. 7evenThirty: Or or alpha West In. Mm-hmm. They're they're s they're sister cities, whether people know it or not. jason: Yeah. Movies like this help us to see the similarities. G? 7evenThirty: Anything. PropJosh: So what's the dr so what's this drug dealer's name? jason: The main one is G. Yeah. So so yeah, he there was a moment where we end up so the main character is named Sierra. So she's talking about her childhood, so you narr she's narrating. and then they find out she pregnant. no, no. He's like, crap, what we gonna do, what we gonna do? PropJosh: G? Okay. 7evenThirty: So it it took me a second time watching this to realize that with that she was I guess she had threw up or something in the living room. And and then when she screamed her name, you know, she was like, d that's when she she instantly knew. And then he came at that's what she was wiping up. Yeah, yeah, that's what the the mall instantly knew. jason: okay. The mama knew. Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: But I love how she attacked him soon as he walked in in the room. Mm-hmm. But she was summoning that Halle Berry energy. You remember when Halle Berry played the crackhead in Jungle Fever? Her first role? That's her first movie. And she was punching on Samuel Jackson. That's that's the energy I got when she was doing that. Mm. jason: Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, it's like it's your fault. Yeah. I mean PropJosh: yeah, yeah. jason: Jungle fever. Okay. Mm. Mm. Yeah. PropJosh: okay. jason: They did mention losing Isaiah in this didn't they d say something about losing Isaiah in this movie? PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Later on. Yeah, they did reference that 'cause of the the yeah, the the director when he's all hanging out with the girl later on. 7evenThirty: In this movie they did. jason: Yeah. Okay. All right. So I didn't know where this movie was gonna go, you know, watching it, but I was like, I'm ready for whatever direction they gonna send me 'cause I was like, it's one of those movies where it can go multiple directions and you know the so just the the they did paint the drug dealer his demeanor and face expression 7evenThirty: Mendies. Yes. PropJosh: Yeah, you never know. You never know. jason: And the way that he presented himself, they made him like he acted like he wasn't a bad guy. Like the way that he like the way that they presented him and the way that he like his he just seemed like a normal guy that was, you know, happened to be in a relationship with a sixteen year old child. Which was horrible. But that all right, all right, all right, all right. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. 7evenThirty: Well yeah. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. 7evenThirty: Right. yo, please this this is my favorite scene in the whole movie. PropJosh: Yeah. That's why I started laughing. 7evenThirty: So so there's a scene. Let's hear this audio. Yeah, yeah, rewind a little bit. jason: Okay, all right, all right, all right. Okay. 7evenThirty: So we come to school and what's the little girl's name? She Sierra goes to school. jason: Sierra. PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: All right, so this two people talking. So there's two people talking. There's a woman talking and there's a girl talking. And so yeah, you can turn it down. Like she it's very obvious very quickly that one of the women that's supposed to be a sixteen year old girl is clearly a grown ass woman. jason: Mm-hmm. Right. Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: With with children, mortgage. jason: But they try to they try to hide it though because they put like a bow in her hair. They film her from the back, you know, so she don't literally see her face too much. Yes. 7evenThirty: They put that bow in the hair. Right. But she she's talking. And you and everything about her, she you know, she not she don't she not bad looking, but she's clearly not a teenager. jason: Not a chap Yes. PropJosh: 'Cause what makes it worse is all the kids in the scene are played by actual kids. 7evenThirty: Or actual kids. jason: Yes, yes. 7evenThirty: And then and then so the they're they're smoking weed in the bathroom. And then there's another kid who comes in and like, you know, she snitches on them to the teacher or whatever, then they come out the bathroom and and it's like the principal or something. And she's like, All right, now Sierra, go back to class. And then she's like, Rihanna, I'll see you in the teacher's lounge where we hang out as adults. Because she's jason: Yeah. 7evenThirty: Clearly adult jason: Obviously, teacher. They all they did that. That's so funny. That's hilarious. man. That's exactly what it is. Yep, that's what it is. She's pretending to be a teenager to to because that's what they do. They're doing their the entrapment. You know, it's like, yeah, you're gonna do the read, you're gonna do the drugs, and you find a drug dealer. You know, that's that's the the her goal. So she's an undercover cop. PropJosh: Maybe it's a twenty one jump street type of thing, you know. 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: She's undercover. She's an adult under undercover. So it's a twenty one jump street thing. 7evenThirty: Yeah. jason: That's pretending to be a teenager so she can so she can bust the drug dealer, which she ends up busting the drug dealer when they find out she was pregnant. They're like, so now we got him PropJosh: Yep. Yep, that's 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. That's what you f you you you explained it. PropJosh: That's what it was. They forgot to add that. That was a deleted scene. That's why she looks forty. 7evenThirty: Okay, so this is the first time in a movie where we fade to black. jason: goodness. man. man. That is a signature. That is a signature. 7evenThirty: We fade to black for the first time in the movie. And it's twelve years later. And twelve years later she went from being sixteen to being like thir thirty five right. And so PropJosh: Thirty nine. jason: Wow. PropJosh: Yeah, I was trying to math it up right. I was like, wait a minute, she was fi sixteen plus 7evenThirty: I was like, wait a minute. jason: Yeah, yeah. 7evenThirty: And and and and to to be c clear, I'm not hating 'cause I f I find the actress attractive, but that's beyond that's look like a little more than twelve years went by from being sixteen. jason: I wonder why they specifically said twelve years, 'cause maybe the kid PropJosh: Well, 'cause that would make her twenty eight. I think she could probably pass for twenty eight. 7evenThirty: I guess she could be twenty eight. Yeah, she could be twenty eight. Wait, sixteen plus yeah, yeah, sixteen plus twelve twenty eight. Okay. jason: Yeah. Yeah, she could be twenty eight. So PropJosh: Yeah. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah. I could see that, so jason: But she she she was 7evenThirty: There's a familiar actor in this scene though. from movie couple movies I think we reviewed. the DJ, you remember he was in The Wrong One. jason: Mm. PropJosh: was he? 7evenThirty: With Kamal Smith, yeah. He was the friend. He was the best friend. PropJosh: yeah, we have a few to be superstars in this movie. Cameos, yeah. jason: Return Cameos superstars. Yeah. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: Yeah, there's a couple and they don't do big roles either. They're like kinda like do a PropJosh: Yeah. Maybe that's why I enjoyed this movie 'cause you got all this to be all stars in this movie. jason: to be all stars that just kinda have side roles, not supporting characters. but yeah, so G, the drug dealer goes to jail for however long. and so they show our fast forward, Sierra is now a stripper. And so PropJosh: Yeah. Long time. 7evenThirty: She can't lurk, faith. jason: Yeah, she's a stripper, she does drugs, she just like her just like her mama. Which her think that they narrated that her mama died. Yeah, she mentioned that. She's like, Yeah, mama died overdose. Yeah, they talked she she kinda s narrates that. And so PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Her mom would pretty much die like almost immediately. 7evenThirty: Yeah, that you would never see her mom die, but yeah. PropJosh: She she overdosed. I think she was in foster homes or whatever. jason: Maybe. Yeah. Yeah. So the end. PropJosh: For a little bit. And then yep. But she ends up with this 7evenThirty: Ha ha ha. PropJosh: she ends up with this like this gangster ass boyfriend, like gangster drug dealing boyfriend. I think name Rock. I think that's who it is. jason: He only has a one scene really. Yeah. Well he tri he definitely s shifts with the direction of the movie. So like, you know, she's doing her thing. Go ahead. I was like, she's just doing her thing and then, you know, got guys around and stuff like that. And so she's she's just trying to be you can tell that she just living her life in a in a direction that she wanna go in, but it's not necessarily PropJosh: Yeah, he has one scene, but he makes an impression when you see him. 7evenThirty: But you know Yeah, yeah, go ahead. jason: positive. It's just fowling out. So go ahead, Mark. 7evenThirty: Did did you notice that the boyfriend was sitting in the car the whole time old buddy was hollering at her? jason: I didn't notice. PropJosh: I think I knew that. 7evenThirty: I didn't notice that till the second time I watched this. he was sitting right there. The car is in the shot. And then he gets out of that car. And he was pushing mad up on the girl. He know that she with this dude. So jason: yeah. That's right. Okay. Yeah. And he's not a he's not a dude that's that you wanna mess with. 7evenThirty: Right. And this and this dude the dude playing the thug, I've seen him in several movies. This role for him though, to me, is the first time I seen him play such a such a character like that. You know what I'm saying? Like like that's just so nasty like he is. And so PropJosh: Yeah, he looks familiar. jason: Right. PropJosh: Well let's set it up. Let's jason: Yeah. PropJosh: tell people what's happening in the scene 'cause I don't think we actually said what happened. Yeah, that the like Sierra was leaving the club and this guy was trying to holler at her that she gave the lap dance to and he's like really trying to holler at her but not, you know, realizing her boyfriend is right there in the car while he's trying to do that. And so that pisses the boyfriend off. I think the boyfriend name is Rock. jason: Okay. 7evenThirty: okay. Mm-hmm. See, that's the thing. I don't think he cared. I think he knew damn well her boyfriend was in that car and didn't give a fuck. And the reason you know that is cause of how he talked to the boyfriend when the boyfriend got out the car. He didn't give a damn. He was like, yeah, fuck nigga. He was talking shit. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: 'cause he has money and stuff and he feels like he can buy anybody. jason: Right. Yep. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah, he didn't. I think he was talking about money with them 'cause he was like money this this net or whatever. So he's one of those ballers that's like, I can do whatever I want. Right. 7evenThirty: Yeah, he was saying, Yeah, y'all can both be on my team. Actually, you know what I'm saying? I want you and your girl on my team. You know what I'm saying? I can use some extra security, you know what I'm saying? Talking popping mad shit. And so, like what happens later. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. jason: It happens. 7evenThirty: You know, I'm mm jason: Reap what you sow. 7evenThirty: Right. He was talking mad cash money shit. PropJosh: So yeah, the boyfriend, Rock, he got pissed off and he told her to get out of the car. Her and her son, 'cause her son was in the car the whole time. Yeah. No, he ain't that old. He's like thirt he's like yeah. Yeah, he's twelve. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Pick them out. And her son's like sixteen. No well like no no, he's supposed to be twelve. Yeah, he's supposed to be jason: Whole time. He's twelve. He's twelve. 7evenThirty: twelve. which they look like that could be her real son. PropJosh: Think jason: And maybe it is. PropJosh: Well his the character's name is Darius and the real person name is Darius. jason: so he just plays himself. PropJosh: I guess so. Maybe that is his mama in real life. I'm a I mean, it was real with Crystal Adol. jason: That could be. All right, Detroit. 7evenThirty: Yeah. And then they got Detroit as fuck because old buddy came back because he was like, Yeah, nigga, I'm gonna come back and see your A he was like, Yeah, he was like, Yeah, whatever. He came out, he said, he came back to the spot. He said, Hope you're ready to stand on business, nigga. And then he shot him. And then he and then he left. And then his dumb ass pulled over on the side of the road and started smoking a blunt and got caught immediately by the cops. jason: He ain't say nothing. He ain't say he just he just He ain't made no threats. He ain't make no threat. Yep. PropJosh: Yep. jason: That's it. PropJosh: Of course he did. He said jason: So stupid. After shooting somebody after murdering somebody. 7evenThirty: And then he goes, Yeah, yeah. But PropJosh: I ain't going out like that. Cause he's a true Detroit ass nigga. He came out blasting. He said I ain't going out like that. Pop pow Then he wondered why he got killed. I guess so he can brag the jason: Yep. Let's see. 7evenThirty: R he said, I ain't going out like that. jason: goodness. goodness. Yep. PropJosh: So he can brag to all his friends in hell, I guess. Yeah, nigga. I didn't go out like a bitch. Now I'm burning in hell. jason: Yep. So yeah, that was his one scene. PropJosh: Yeah, I know. I thought he was gonna be a bigger character. jason: I definitely thought he was gonna be a major character. he was very interesting. He was an interesting character. I'm a little disappointed they killed him off so quick. He literally had three minutes. 7evenThirty: But that's one of those two big cameos you're talking about 'cause he's in a lot of Zubie movies. Mm hmm. jason: Yeah. So sh at the beginning of the movie she mentioned something about growing up in the church and the not she gives the title of the movie. she was like, It's something that you hear growing up in the church. Won't he do it? And so she mentioned that, which I didn't see at any point in her story where she went to church as a kid. I guess so. Maybe that's what it was. Yeah, she 'cause yeah, that made sense. But she ended up 7evenThirty: Her going to church is anything. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: It had to be before her mom was a drug addict. That's it had to be the case. jason: She looked like she was f trying to find solace, so she found comfort by walking to the doorsteps of the church. And so 7evenThirty: And then the music changing everything right here, and I was very confused. It it it goes in let play the play the music. I wonder if they No, they ain't playing it. So sheep they when they wake up, they're playing this very uplifting gospel music. And then the tone completely changed. And at this point, I was kind of confused as to okay, like what tone is this now? Like what is this is this truly a faith based movie now? jason: It's like it shifts what you thought the movie was gonna be. yeah, yeah, yeah. Where's this movie going? Yeah. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: 'Cause the 'cause the pastor jason: Yeah. 7evenThirty: and his wife come up and the first thing Tori said was, Why he look like a pimp? He got on a leopard hat tilted to the side, shades with a fucking trench coat and and some shit. jason: Yep. He got that hat on, you know, shades. Yep, yep. Mm hmm. Yeah. So it's like it could it could have been and I had when they played their music, I was like, Is it gonna be a actual good pastor for change? You know. So if you were wondering that. But the first lady was, you know, very kind. She like, Let me get you some coffee, let me let me you know, talk let's talk, let's have some moments and so 7evenThirty: You know. Right. Well he come up with the beard, but this is a Detroit 2B movie. In every true form. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: Very kind and warm. Yeah. jason: You know, there's like there's just a there's a immediate just she's trying to bond with the lady and the kid that was on her steps of the church. And so she seems like a genuine good person that actually wants to help, you know? And so 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. She seems like the kind of person you yeah, you would have like you wouldn't mind being around her and talking to her and stuff. jason: Yeah. So she opens up, but the pastor does look like a pimp. 7evenThirty: The pasta look like a straight up pimp, PropJosh: Which honestly 7evenThirty: man. PropJosh: they didn't phase me because I was like, Well, you know, pastors be looking like pimps. You know. No. No, I didn't. I was just like yeah, I just thought he yeah, that's how I thought of him. Yeah. It didn't phase me. jason: So you didn't even think that he was a bad guy. You were just like he just happened to have a hip hat. That's all he just you know, that's just that's his style. You know, he's that's that's the style of him. Yeah, 'cause he was 7evenThirty: I mean, you know the hat was cool. I th I th I thought I thought he looked cool, but I also did not think he looked like a pastor. jason: Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. But I get it. Like he could've it could he he could've been a reg a a a nice guy that wasn't an actual pimp, you know, 'cause I don't think he was actually a pimp. So 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. They if they say he played bass guitar for a funk band, I wouldn't be surprised. jason: Yeah, that's what he did look like that. PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha. jason: Yeah, he definitely looked like he would play bass for a funk band. But yeah, so she ends up open up to everything, right? She tells the first lady about her whole entire past and just in one conversation. Which like that's the the I understand that. Like I think that like that's actually not unrealistic. I think it's like, you know, she spent trauma and so she just spent all night on the steps. 7evenThirty: And she spent hours with her talking. jason: And so there's time and so there's like there's a bond that becomes that is that's built. 7evenThirty: Hey c can I ask you something, smiley Jason? Does that happen to you? jason: Okay. People do open up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. 7evenThirty: That seems like something that would happen to you. PropJosh: They'll tell you the backstory and stuff. 7evenThirty: Just jason: Yeah. 7evenThirty: open up and just start telling a life story. My wife is like that. She'll meet a stranger in a like her Uber driver would tell her all they business on the way to the airport. jason: Yeah. People do that. That's I have I have PropJosh: Mm-hmm. jason: definitely done that. I've sit in the car and people have done that. Yes. absolutely. so yeah. So I guess that's this that's type of personality 'cause I think we got the same kind of personality. So 7evenThirty: I feel like that's you, yeah. Mm-hmm. It's like that di it's a disarming it's a it's a it's the it's a result of having a good personality and a good welcoming disarming energy. Which right, which you you have that, Tori has that. I don't think I have that, but PropJosh: Yeah. jason: Hospitality, that's what it is. It's hospitality. Josh definitely doesn't have numbers. PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Josh should d probably depend on the day with Josh. But but no, like yeah, I think that's that's just one of those side effects of having a personality that people feel comfortable around. You know what I'm saying? Then they I can talk to this person. Did you know that blah blah blah blah blah? Yep. So that's what she did. But she needed that though, yeah. In the house of the Lord. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah. jason: Mm-hmm. Yeah. She listened and she needed that. Yeah. But immediately PropJosh: Mm-hmm. jason: immediately the T V happened to be on and they find out that which I love so one thing about this movie that I love is that you don't have to wait long for the for the exposition to happen. Like the movie is pretty quick. And so you don't need a lot they don't g have to give you a lot of reasons why stuff happens. They just say this is it. PropJosh: Yeah, they got her off of the street. 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: Mm-hmm. jason: And we just move with it. You just accept it and move forward. So like that's what I like about this movie. So like so the T V on Yeah, that's the that's interesting. But the TV's on and you know, she finds out that her boyfriend got murdered. 7evenThirty: Yeah. There's a lot of fades to black though. PropJosh: my bad. The kid's name is the kid's name is Gabriel. My bad. Not not Darius. They put it 7evenThirty: okay, okay. jason: But his real name is Darius? Okay. PropJosh: Yeah, his real name is Darius. Yeah, but it's yeah, Gabriel. jason: So yeah he 7evenThirty: yeah, talking about she found out that the drug dealer that that her mean boyfriend got shot by the cops. Yeah. jason: Road dealer, her boyfriend got shot. And so, she finds that out and then sh and then it face to black and she's just working as at the at the church and so she's kind of that. Now I thought something was up immediately. So like the first introduction of the director. 7evenThirty: You'll pause it. jason: The first introduction of the director comes up, and he's with his fiance, right? And it's like and the the first lady's like, Hey, here's my Yeah, so the with the the first lady's son, or the pastor of first lady's son. And so they're like, Hey, here's my son, and he's like super nice, you know, super hey, nice to meet you, you know, it's like really and you know, really super, super nice. 7evenThirty: Yep. Who was Josh's favorite to be actor? PropJosh: Yeah, played by Fancy Jones, one of my favorite to be actresses. 7evenThirty: Mm mm. jason: And then but the immediately the Fancy Jones, the fiance like, what you talking to the help for? Like she's like negative. Yes, like the complete opposite of the first lady. It's like, goodness, like wow. Why? So mm-hmm. But she's like, I gotta go tell the pastors something. And I was like, uh-oh. As soon as that happened, I was like, something's up between them. PropJosh: Immediately. Yeah, she don't shake her hand or nothing. Yeah, she's yeah. 7evenThirty: Very unwelcoming. Yeah. Very cold. Ha ha ha. PropJosh: So you watched enough of these movies to figure that out. 'Cause I was still engaged in it. I didn't know. 7evenThirty: But it's funny because jason: You didn't realize that something was ha up between them? 7evenThirty: I knew PropJosh: No. 7evenThirty: as soon as talking about the pastor and Fancy Jones. I yes, the way Fancy was looking at him and they were looking at each other. This is the first time that they did something. They just didn't show it. jason: Yeah. Like this scene this is the scene. Like this is the first time. PropJosh: Yeah. jason: Right. They literally cut the cut 'cause it's like his reaction and we can play the we can play it 'cause she's just like, you know, I need to go see the pastor. I need to talk to the pastor about 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: He's such a nice guy. 7evenThirty: Right. It's a perfect nice guy. You can feel safe around him. jason: Mm-hmm. And that's the pastor. Yeah, he's just also a nice guy. He's on the phone talking business. And he immediately cuts the phone. let me hang up the phone. Hey. Look at his face, Josh. You did not know. 7evenThirty: Christian. This this music is distracting. Just be clueless. jason: Ha ha PropJosh: So do jason: Where's KJ? Mm. Yeah, that was probably the hint. Close the door. Before you go. Yep. Before you go. Yeah, exactly. They cut the scene because Yeah. You really didn't. 7evenThirty: And then what? Yeah. Look at how she looks at him and then it cuts off. Yeah. Because it go reveals it later. I was like, PropJosh: They cut the scene. So I d I didn't think anything of it. I didn't think anything of it. I really don't. 7evenThirty: if she looked at you like that, just think about it. jason: What was she why PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha! jason: she have to what it she never said anything but she had to go tell the pastor what? 7evenThirty: Right. She just wanted to go see him in his office. She wanted to give him a reason. She wanted to create the situation to where, hey, you know, we can sneak one in real quick. jason: Mm-hmm. Yep. 'Cause he was like, Where's where's KJ? I'm sh PropJosh: The church. 7evenThirty: Yeah, at the church. But what's crazy is that the pastor office, that that part that you pause on, that shit it looks almost exactly like how my granddad's office was in his house. 'Cause yeah, he was a pastor. He had like he had like his he had his desk and like that big chair and like all the books and stuff behind him. I just thought that was interest. That's like a wow, that look real familiar. jason: wow. wow. Mm. PropJosh: So K J that's the guy's name, right? 'Cause they say K so like he's kinda obvious though himself. Like he's he's definitely flirting with with Sierra. jason: Yeah. 7evenThirty: The perfect guy, yeah. jason: Yes. Yes. He is flirting. He is flirting. He's engaged. 7evenThirty: Yeah, now he's much more obvious. jason: He's engaged to another woman and he's flirting with this one. So he's not a good man. Yeah. PropJosh: He's like, ooh, yeah, trying to I know immediately. Immediately. It's like he's not even it's it's it's no wonder she gets jealous immediately because he's all he all up on her immediately. jason: Yeah. He's definitely all and and she's all like, Well, I ain't trying to I ain't trying to have no problems with your your fiance. Well, you know, what you reading? Let me read with you, you know? PropJosh: You know, she you 7evenThirty: He really was PropJosh: know, she's okay. 7evenThirty: all up on her as if he didn't have a girlfriend. He act like he immediately forgot about his girlfriend. Right. jason: Yes. Absolutely. Absolutely. He's like it was like that was his cousin. PropJosh: Right. Immediate like right. In front of her. jason: You know? That's what he was treating her like. Anyway, what's up with me and you? I mean my fiance, not my cousin. PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah. I'm your fiance. yeah, yeah, yeah. That I mean fiance, yeah. I I get that confused sometimes. jason: my goodness. 7evenThirty: Ha ha ha. jason: Yep. So yeah. 7evenThirty: yeah, this scene right here. S Sierra's friend from from the club shows up and she like, hey girl, hey and like they're like, girl, what's going on? Yeah, yeah. And her friend has a black eye. Her friend clearly has a black eye that she's covering with PropJosh: From the club. jason: Well this is the fade saying this is when it fades out that you're talking about. You say you want to talk about the fade out. Let it we'll let it play after that, yeah. Right. PropJosh: Which I know 'cause he's wearing shades at night. jason: Mm hmm. But you could see the you can see the bruise on her forehead too on the top of her eye li eye PropJosh: Right, exactly. It's kinda obvious. 7evenThirty: I mean I do like wearing shades at night though. But I know Jason me and Jason like to wear shades at night. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: Sometimes I do. But it does establish how long she's been gone. jason: What did they say? It was like f a few months. PropJosh: Yeah, maybe four months I think. 'Cause she had been gone for a while after everything. So jason: Mm hmm. So she basically 7evenThirty: Yeah. jason: just quit the strip club and started working at the church. And so she feels like she's free. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Like immediately. 7evenThirty: Yep. Yep. Feel like a weight lifted off. PropJosh: So if you think about it, Sierra's story changes really quickly. Like it really Yeah, like her resolution actually happens at the beginning of the movie. jason: Overnight. 7evenThirty: All right, you gotta pause before this fade. jason: Okay. We'll let you hear what it say. But she gotta go. We'll let I'm gonna play it. We're gonna talk about the caption little bit. PropJosh: my gosh, the caption got on my nerves in this movie. Ha ha ha ha ha! 7evenThirty: No, no, no, no, no. jason: I took a stri I took a picture of that because I was like, that was so funny. 7evenThirty: Ha ha ha. PropJosh: I think the scene was to show what Sierra left behind. That's what it was. Like this is what her life what could have kept being. jason: Yeah. Okay. All right. 7evenThirty: listen to Josh, the director. jason: Mm-hmm. So like she she would have been cause it did show it did compare the boyfriend that she had before was talking to her the same way. So it was like this is the this was yeah, she would have been like that. PropJosh: Exactly. So she was st yeah, she could have stayed in that life. It's like this is 7evenThirty: Yep. you know what? That is true. Cause they just paralleled that. Thank you, Josh, for making it make sense. They showed a scene of her at the church where you can see her, you know, doing good. She's cleaning around the church or whatever. She got her son a place to stay. You know what I'm saying? They got sheltered and some good people. she got a new boyfriend that she stole from somebody else. jason: Mm-hmm. Yep. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: And things are going well. jason: Who's a great guy? 7evenThirty: And then the next scene is parallel that next to East Side Boom talking all kind of crazy shit. Well, I know his whole name. And he he's playing himself. Like in the credits, he's the it right. He's like himself. And and then they parallel that next to this scene of the old boyfriend getting out of jail. But let's go back to that fade out. Cause jason: That's his name. That's his name. His name is Isai Boo. Yeah, that's funny. PropJosh: He's crazy. Wow. Wow. jason: yes. 7evenThirty: There's a lot of fade out to black in this movie and which is used to show time. Like you know, going but like when there's a phase of black, you can assume there's some amount of time went. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: Right. 7evenThirty: They fade to black on every scene. jason: Yeah. Yeah. PropJosh: I guess time keeps going. 7evenThirty: That's that's the that's the s that's the glue for each scene is a fade to black. jason: Fade to black. It's his signature card. But that fade to black. PropJosh: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: Yeah. And during that fate, that was a long ass fate. It was just black for like for like a minute. Right. jason: It was it was black for the the whole conversation, half the conversation. He's like, This is East I boom and another thing. That had to be ad PropJosh: I know he kept going. And another thing. East boom for you, bitch. jason: lib. But 7evenThirty: And the first time I saw it, it wasn't no captions, so it was just black and talking. jason: I I watched it with caption. I I watched that I usually watch it with captions. But the captions the captions are also not accurate. So PropJosh: Yeah, me too. Gosh, how do they get away with this? Because 7evenThirty: That's it as a thank you. PropJosh: as somebody, as someone who has a movie on Tubi, they they check that shit. They make you go through it like if if it's not lined up right. There's like no go in and fix, yeah, you go in and fix your caption. No, you have to make it make it sense. 7evenThirty: I was about to say, yeah. You answered my question. jason: Well, it's lined up, but it's just so much slang. No, this is the thing. It's so much slang that the people that approve this is just like, this is Detroit. This is how they talk. It don't have to make sense to us. PropJosh: But it's all wrong. Nobody went and fixed the caption. 7evenThirty: Well hold on, hold on, hold on. Do they is are they just checking to see if the line is lined up with the audio? Or are they actually spell checking and grammar checking what is in the text? That's two whole different things. PropJosh: When I did it, it felt like they were checking. It felt like both. It felt like both when I when I did it. I think it was more it felt like, especially with my movie, I felt like it was more about because it took me a while to get my captions done for my movie. And so it felt like it was more trying to match the words than it being on time. jason: Right. Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: You're right. I think with yours it was more about matching the audio because ain't none of your characters mouth moving. They just but they just listening for the audio. Well there should be words here. But where they actually looking at the words and seeing if they made fucking sense. jason: That's true. PropJosh: Right. jason: Right. PropJosh: I think they work 'cause it was some stuff I let I I remember them telling me that this doesn't make sense. You need to fix some of the dialogue in the caption. jason: Yeah. 7evenThirty: Cause so in that case, they done got loose with that shit. They letting AI do their shit now. jason: They got away. That's why I say I say my theory PropJosh: Ha ha ha. jason: is it's it's just so hood that they just allowed it to happen because they're like, Hey, it don't make sense to me. I don't know what Eastside Boone is. PropJosh: Mm. 7evenThirty: My my theory is they're just I think they're just lining up text to audio and they not paying attention to what's in the text and they letting the AI do their shit and line that shit up. PropJosh: Yeah. jason: yeah, it's definitely cause some of the words just it's obviously not people typing it. Cause there was one point at the beginning where it said the Sierra is her name. Yeah. Well, they mentioned that her name was Sierra and then he said, Hey Siri. And then in the caption it says Ciri, even though he was saying Sierra. So it's like, but he said it it says Ciri on the caption, but he said Sierra. And it's like, okay, that's just one of those things. But I think it was the way he just said it short, you know, Sierra. 7evenThirty: 'Cause that shit didn't even make sense. And another motherfucker, bitch. What? Hey Siri That's for it. jason: And so it's like, okay, it sounds like so to the person that approved it, I guess he's saying theory 'cause he's talking about his phone. I don't want to watch this movie, you know. So again. All right, let's keep going with this movie because it gets it gets better. man. And this is what so 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Pass. Let's go. PropJosh: Ha ha ha Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: it gets so much but we ain't even halfway through this movie. PropJosh: Hehehehe 7evenThirty: So he's all out of jail. You might as well have played Sounds of Blackness when he was walking out of the jail right here because he's so positive. He's such a different person for the rest of the movie. It's as if he never raped a child or so or sold drugs or sold crack. jason: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yep, yep, yep, yes, yes, yes. Right. Or, yes, never raped a child. Never never sold a crack. Never sold a crack pipe. PropJosh: Yeah. I know this is the only character This is the only character I've seen in a movie where I'm like, you know what, I know he was a pedophile, but you know what? jason: He was not a good person. PropJosh: I he's not that 7evenThirty: I mean, they they are painting him, they get him, they might as well had him like Dr. Dre when they introduced Dr. Dre on straight out of Compton. Like they introduced Dr. Dre like he ain't never did no wrong in his life. He's Dr. Dre. PropJosh: bad of a guy. Right. jason: But they also they did a couple things too, because they also had Sierra narrate and say, like, you know, I had to forgive him and he wasn't, you know, I he wasn't allowed him to be this was this was for laugh. Yes, this is a comedy. This was a a comedy scene. The the PO was like somebody was had a joke. It was like, you know what'd be funny? You know it would be funny if the PO was this guy. Yep. 7evenThirty: What was this saying? This is supposed to be a comedy? What is this? PropJosh: yeah, this this this had to be another cameo. This had to be a cameo. This had to be. That that was somebody somebody's cousin. 7evenThirty: They straight up had a comedic dude letting him out of jail. And then he already had a job and everything. jason: So PropJosh: Yeah, which surpr yeah, you got that job fast. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. He got that job immediately out of coming to jail. jason: Yeah. He's still wearing his jail hoodie that he got jail in. His his branding, obviously that's his company. He's got that hat and the hoodie, you know, humble university. Yes. Hey, I don't knock the hustle. I really don't knock it. Do your thing. This your movie, man. Like put it on. So it's looked 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: I know. How did he get that job that fast? 7evenThirty: Right. PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: yeah, they b they be branded hard as hell in the in these movies. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Right, right. 7evenThirty: Mm. 'Cause I'd be reading I'd be looking at everybody gear on they be in these movies. jason: Yeah. So it's been twelve years. He looks I mean, of course, looks exactly the same, you know. Jo Josh looks the same twelve years ago, so you know, once you're forty 7evenThirty: Yeah, they like yeah, yeah. PropJosh: Somewhat. 7evenThirty: His him and his homie look exactly the same now. It's literally like him and Sierra just that now they just did like this. Now they're 'cause in real life they're actually probably the same age. That's funny. jason: Like they he Yes. PropJosh: Yeah they caught up. jason: Right, right, right. PropJosh: Right, right, right. jason: But yeah, they definitely painted him to be like he's not just reformed, he was always a good person. So they never say. They never say. 7evenThirty: Right. So how old is he supposed to be right here? He's supposed to be like fifty? Like f like how old PropJosh: I would say 7evenThirty: he's supposed to be? Like forty five, four forty seven? PropJosh: late forties and maybe before he was in his thirties. Yeah, let's say some jason: So where you think he was twelve years ago? 7evenThirty: Twelve years ago he was at least thirty two. jason: He looked the same. He wasn't in his twenties. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. I would say that about thirty something. 7evenThirty: He was at least thirty two. So he'll be about forty four, forty five right now. jason: That makes sense. You can look the same between thirty two and forty five. I can say that. PropJosh: That makes sense. Yeah. 7evenThirty: Okay. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I can see that. That's weird. As an adult, you do kinda hit a age range where that's just how that's how you look. Well, this is how I look as a fully formed adult. jason: regular It's like this is how I look for the late next ten, fifteen yeah PropJosh: Yeah, you do. You do. Yeah, 'cause you either look kind of young or middle aged or old. Like like 'cause like I was thinking about this with like Morgan Freeman and John Malkovich. If you look at st stuff from them from like twenty years ago, they look the same. 'Cause they looked kinda old back then and they still look the same now. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Right, right. Right. Right. Yep. jason: It's crazy. They started looking old, younger. And they just kept the same look for twenty years. PropJosh: Right, right. But then you have like Paul Rudd. Paul Rudd looks the same from Tw you know, or Samuel Jackson, yeah. Some people just stay at a certain look and just keep at it. So maybe that's what it was with him. 7evenThirty: Samuel, Texas. jason: Yeah. Same face. Same face. Yeah. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: Yeah. This is a movie that doesn't explain that, doesn't need to, because it's just Why why did they even have her my goodness. Why would they even have her as a character? PropJosh: They're not gonna get another actor or nothing. 7evenThirty: No, no. I need to I need to see Sierra Fred from middle sch from high school. See what she looked like now. PropJosh: my god, she looked like she probably looked like look like a grandmother now. So for real, to go back to that scene, when I first saw her friend, I said, Okay, there's gotta be a reason. So my thought was, okay, she's gonna see her as an adult, because it's gonna be played by the same actress. But she never comes back. 7evenThirty: 'Cause it's super obvious. jason: Yep. Never sees her again. Never sees her ever again. She was only there to show her she was only there PropJosh: And so I'm like, then why was she cast as a little girl? Just get a little girl. jason: To give her, yep. Which they 7evenThirty: Right. jason: had another little girl in the scene. They had another little girl in that same scene that was like a tattletale. They didn't want to have a real child smoking fake weed. But that was the whole point of them being in the bathroom. They're like, hey, you Yeah, she had a blunt. 7evenThirty: They had so many little girls. Right. They had another little girl in the scene. PropJosh: Maybe because she's supposed to be smoking and it's like well we don't wanna you could 7evenThirty: They could have just took the smoking out then. PropJosh: Right, or just have a cigarette in her hand and that's it. Just have a cigarette 7evenThirty: That wasn't even a cigarette, it was like a joint in her hand. PropJosh: So just have a joint in her hand and light it up and she don't have to smoke it on it herself. jason: No. That was her. She was like, I wanna be I wanna be in this movie and they were like, We ain't got nothing for you And it's like, Well put me in the movie And they're like Okay. PropJosh: No, I tell you what happened. I tell you what happened. The the kid that was supposed to be there went there today. Damn, we need another twelve we need a s another fifteen year old. We can't find anybody. Hey Kelly. Kelly, you short? You you can play a kid, can't you, Kelly? 7evenThirty: Ha ha ha ha. Yeah. jason: He go he go a bow. We gonna just feel like sixteen. They did say I look young. Mm-hmm. Yeah, you look young. You can play a teenager. PropJosh: They do say I look young. 7evenThirty: That's hilarious. PropJosh: And that's what happened. jason: my goodness. Okay. All right. All right. So G ends up meeting up with his old homie. And he's like, hey man, hey man, you know, let's get back into the game. I'm doing my thing. I got you. You know, it's like, no, I'm good. I'm good. I'm I'm a I'm a reform, man. My PO, my P.O. I'm behind. You know what I'm saying? I just I got a job, you know. I ain't I ain't trying to do none of that stuff. Man, I ain't gonna make no money. What you making? You know, I got I got you, I need you back on the streets. No, I'm 7evenThirty: He left now man, I turned over a new leaf, man. Mm-hmm. jason: I gotta see about my real you know, my son and my you know, my life. How's Sierra doing? The love of my life, you know, how's she doing? PropJosh: Yeah I shouldn't have did that to her. jason: He does say that. He said that. He's like, man 7evenThirty: That's literally yeah. Yeah. He was he was seriously in PropJosh: And he's like and I f and he found God. 7evenThirty: love. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: He found God and stuff. He's like, I've been praying every day and you know, he's he jason: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so 7evenThirty: He he was seriously in love with that sixteen year old. jason: Yep. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. 7evenThirty: And and it's in PropJosh: Which might say that's what I'm saying he was probably kinda young himself then. If they've especially for them to kinda catch up with each other. jason: Mm mm mm. 7evenThirty: Mm. jason: Yeah. It's bad regardless. Okay. Yes. It was not good. so yeah, so he's so that's but that scene was to show you that he's not the same person he was before. And he's serious about it. So like he had an opportunity. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: I know, of course it's bad. 7evenThirty: He's he's serious about being different. Right. His best friend was like, PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: Look, I'm making all this money selling all these drugs. Do you want some? You can you could you can make money, we can make money together. And then he's like, nah, man. jason: Here's some, I can give you drugs right now. Here's drugs. Take it and sell it. PropJosh: I did thought that he was gonna do the typical tubey thing and go right back to the streets, but he kinda surprised me. It like, No jason: Actually the way that the way that he like I told you at the beginning, his the way the actor acted that character made me believe that he wasn't gonna go back to the drug scene. Like I th they were trying to make it look like he was a good guy. Like that's the way that he acted. 'Cause he could have acted like the boyfriend at you know he could have been acting like that, which that would have been like, yeah, well he's PropJosh: Yeah. Right, right. 7evenThirty: Okay. jason: You know, he ain't gonna be nobody. He's just gonna go back into the you know drug. But the way that he acted, he was like, I'm a reform black man, you know. be optimistic, you know, but the blackness. But Yep. So so yeah, there's a scene that I was like, This is here for a reason. but I didn't know what the reason was. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Yeah. PropJosh: Right. 7evenThirty: I know. As long as you can PropJosh: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: The same right here? jason: the right before, like when the guy that was talking. Cause I was like, this is very Yeah, I was like, This is very specific. Yeah. 7evenThirty: The old dude, yeah. PropJosh: it was Ashley's dad talking 7evenThirty: Now remind me of what they were talking about. PropJosh: to jason: So he mentioned something about his sister. He was like, How are you doing? You know, after everything happened. He's Yeah, I'm you know, I'm making it, you know, his sister died. And so he's just like, Yeah, you know, we're there for you. If you need anything, you know, we're just gonna be there. you know, you're always in my prison. So the pastor's talking to one of the I guess just a member and the member's sister passed away. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. And so he mentioned it. They had some kind of like Yeah. I was that's I noticed that and I was like, This is interesting. Why is he mentioning his sister? 7evenThirty: Talking about the he was talking to the light skinned dude. Yeah, yeah, okay. okay. You paid attention right there, okay. Okay. Yeah. jason: You know, he's like, is this showing that the pastor's a compassionate person? You know, 'cause the way he responded. But I was like, this is I don't trust the pastor because of the scene before. I'm like, he's obviously doing something with with which is I think that's his he's the Fancy Jones' father. goodness. 7evenThirty: Mm, mm, mm. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. He was playing Fancy Just's 7evenThirty: No, I'll PropJosh: father. 7evenThirty: give it to him on that. jason: Talking about the age time. 7evenThirty: shit, hold on, hold on, hold on. No no. I'll give it to him on that throwing off the audience. Right. Giving like a little hint, but not enough to be like, hmm. jason: Writing? yeah, yeah. Yeah, that was good. That was actually good. That's what I was saying. I I like I thought that was a good it was but it was subtle enough where it was like this we're gonna we're gonna throw this in here so it's not random, you know, so that was actually good like foreshadowing of like, hey, but it's not gonna show you 7evenThirty: That went past me, but but you were paying attention, so that's that's good. Fancy Jones. Fancy Jones. Fancy Jones is Ashley. Son of a bitch. Me and Tori were at the end like, who in the fuck is Ashley? We were so mad. But we weren't paying attention that she had a name. Okay, now I get it. Good lord. That we you don't understand. We were frustrated. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Okay. Ha ha ha ha. Fancy Jones is Ashley, yeah. I've I yeah. They mention her name a lot, but yeah, but yeah. jason: So that's her that's her 7evenThirty: We use jason: Brother? 7evenThirty: How did it jason: Her dad, okay. PropJosh: yeah, that was her dad, yeah. 7evenThirty: The light skinned dude's fancy general dead. Mm-hmm. What's jason: Okay. Yes. Dad, okay. That's the dad. But her sister his his sister was the one that died. PropJosh: Yeah. jason: That's what you talk about. Okay. 7evenThirty: Man, you you actually pieced that together and I'm we was at the end like Because it at the end I I'ma s I'ma skip I'ma skip just PropJosh: Who Ashley I I said that for a second. Yeah, I said it for a second. give away too much. We're still going in order. Just give we we can wait to we can we can wait to reveal because we're almost to the end. We're almost at the end. 7evenThirty: Are we going in order or are we are we waiting to reveal what's going on? Yeah, yeah. We'll we'll keep going. Yeah, yeah. I won't say nothing. Yeah, I won't say that. jason: I mean, we talk about it. I mean if you listen to this, listen. All right. So whoever's listening to this at this point, we talk about in the movie. The movie's got yeah, we halfway through the movie, but the movie the movie kinda hits a yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like halfway for about thirty minutes. Yeah, about thirty minutes nothing really major happens. It's kinda like 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: Not much happens. 7evenThirty: Right, not much happens. It's a lot of filler. PropJosh: Well, the th major thing that does happen is when they go to the restaurant. I think this is the part when they go to the restaurant and they see jason: Yeah, 'cause K J 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: is obviously 7evenThirty: They see jason: dating he's obviously dating Sierra. PropJosh: What'd you say? 7evenThirty: I mean they he taking the family out to eat and everything. PropJosh: I know, man. jason: 'Cause he ha something happens with the girl with Yep. What's her name? PropJosh: yeah, we get another cameo. 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: is her name. She's in a we saw her in a bunch of stuff on these 7evenThirty: Yeah, yeah. We we reviewed that movie, that please movie. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Sarah Sarah jason: yeah, that was her movie. That was the movie she directed too. PropJosh: E Evel? I didn't know Yeah. Yeah. 7evenThirty: Yeah, yeah, that's her. Yeah, yeah, Sarah. jason: So she directed the the please movie. That was her, or she wrote it or something like that. She mm. 7evenThirty: Yeah, yeah, that was her whole movie. Yeah, she wrote and PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, yeah. 7evenThirty: directed that. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: So you know her from from that movie. And that other movie, that other church movie too, with the with the she was in that other church movie with when that pastor had two kids that were born they're both named Doug. jason: So she has she plays like a 7evenThirty: Stay right evolved. jason: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: Not you, Siri. jason: Yes, yes, yes. Yep, that was good. So they go to a they go to a restaurant which is, you know, a specific style taco place, which we know the taco place because that was the job space they had the t shirt that they showed in the basin. It was like borderline tacos or whatever the name of it was. And so so 7evenThirty: Mm. It's a taco restaurant. Mm-hmm. Right. Right. Right. And the way they were describing PropJosh: Yep. Yep. Yeah, borderline yeah, something like that. 7evenThirty: their food, it sounds like I hope it's a real restaurant in Detroit because I'm going there. They're like the y'all doing a good job advertising the shit out this restaurant. jason: I mean PropJosh: I know, I was like, Hey yeah, I kinda wanna try this jason: No, no. They can't they They wrote PropJosh: I know, jason: they PropJosh: right? That's why they let them use the restaurant. It's like are you gonna be advertising us? jason: definitely they got the t-shirt. Yeah. Yeah, they got tacos and wings. Yeah. He's got the borderline t-shirt. So talk about what happens in the scene, Josh. 7evenThirty: That shit sound good as hell. And the waitresses look like that? PropJosh: They gotta get paid for location and stuff, so maybe they actually use the actual restaurant. Well, O doo comes out to bring their food. what's his name? G. G comes out, but he immediately plays it off 'cause Sierra recognizes him, of course he recognizes her. So they both play it off, like, you just looks like someone I know or something like that. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. I mean, does he play it off though? Because he's really obvious that that could be his son. He's like, hey, what's your name? Gabriel. I got a son that's Gab I got a son named Gabriel too. And then he looks at him for a while. So ha ha. PropJosh: He's very obvious. I think it's obvious to the audience, but not obvious to KJ. 'Cause KJ doesn't know. I know, I know. This that's also twelve that looks a lot jason: Yep, he's like, Hi, what's your name, child? Gabriel, I have a son your age named Gabriel. He's exactly your age. PropJosh: like you. jason: He looks just like he would look just like you. Okay. Let's let's play. Let's play. I want to play this conversation with so we haven't seen the pastor do anything crazy yet. so they did mention l in a s on a previous scene that well we talked about that, but what happened was when G was talking to his 7evenThirty: Man, this scene also cracked me up. PropJosh: Man, it's old man. 7evenThirty: He looked like a pimp. jason: friend, he was like, Yeah, I'm running the drugs out of a funeral home and then he was like, What are you talking about? A funeral home? Yeah, I'm running and the pastor's in on it. What's the pastor's name? And he kinda like drops the name. And so you're like, so that's that now you're like making a connection that I know there's not gonna be another person they're introducing. So it's gotta be the pastor. So the very this scene is where we hear him for the first time. 7evenThirty: yeah, yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm. Mm-hmm. Ha ha. jason: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: He grabbed him up. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: Like that Bel Air shirt though. jason: Yeah, it was a tough it was kind of a cool it was a cooler thing, but yeah, so he that's his you kind of see that, yeah, this is not just a regular pastor now, like we saw before. This is a pimp drug dealer pastor. Mm-hmm. Yep. Now he's a he's a official drug dealer at the funeral home, which is just his front room. 7evenThirty: Yeah, I know you were gonna like that. PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: The hat makes sense. The hat and the glasses make sense now. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Hey, they gotta pay for locations. They gotta find locations. jason: Hey man, that's fine. I ain't I ain't I ain't knocking it. You know, that's where his office is. So Okay. I don't think I paid attention to to this thing. 7evenThirty: Yeah, they were trying to get this guy to snitch on the drug deal to to the the cops had this guy in interrogation and they were trying to get him to rat out like the the drug dealing ring, the ring of drug dealers, 'cause they've been trying the the backstory of this is that the cops are trying to take down this whole drug ring that's going on. So that's the the backstory, and he's just part of that. jason: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: secondary plot. jason: Okay. 7evenThirty: Yeah, so you don't see him much. But he's involved in in that and now he, you know, they like, yeah, tell him you you gonna be gone for a while, ain't really got no signal where you at and and and that. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. They know he got caught though. The the the dude right here in the bell that he's smart. He he know what's going on. yeah, and then the preacher has his mechanic, this Mexican dude, jason: No. 'Cause they knew he got they knew he got caught. No, they didn't know though. They kinda knew. So Yeah. They 7evenThirty: Who's like, well, jason: say some offensive things about 7evenThirty: yeah. And and he you know, he's like he's of course he's like well connected to like, you know, the cartel or some shit and could give them like a way better deal on cocaine now that their guy got busted or whatever and like so that's what this whole secondary plot is. That dude right there though, the Mexican dude, that haircut, like his like that's the way he styled and everything, that's some Dallas shit right there. PropJosh: Mm-hmm. jason: Yeah. Yep. So PropJosh: Mm-hmm. yeah. 7evenThirty: yeah. Like that that that clean cut with the way his hair was laid and everything. jason: Mm hmm. Another cameo. Yes, we have. I don't know what, but he's absolutely been in stuff. Yeah. Yeah. PropJosh: Choir director, have we seen him or something? 7evenThirty: Yeah, yeah, the choir director is in a bunch of stuff. He was in the wrong one. He was their best PropJosh: Yeah, that's what I was 7evenThirty: friend. He was their he always played a comic relief character. PropJosh: gonna say. I yeah, he's in the wrong one. That's what I I figured. Yeah. That's right. He was the comic relief yeah, in the wrong one. Okay, that's what I thought. jason: Yeah, yep. 7evenThirty: 'Cause he had me laughing in this when he was talking about how jason: Yeah, he did. He cause the whole so this is is this is so so they're singing a song. I don't know what song they're singing, but the whole time they singing Won't he do it then. So he's you see him in the background the entire time of this conversation. The whole time just in the background directing the choir. It's probably about a good fifteen minute scene where you know, Sierra's going off on what's the name? 7evenThirty: how wrong they were singing. It's called Won't He Do It. Yes he will. Yeah. Yeah. He doing it. Mm-hmm. jason: this is perfect. 7evenThirty: Yeah, that made tour laugh too. jason: Yep. So yeah, so that's the perfect example. They meant they in the choir, they in the sanctuary arguing while they try the while they trying to practice. I'm like, okay. So but the mom doesn't like so the first lady does not like what fancy Ashley. She doesn't like her and so she loves she loves Sierra. 7evenThirty: My solo is just having a hard time, like, Yes, she is. And she was already messing up the song before they started talking. PropJosh: Ashley. 7evenThirty: Actually, you know. PropJosh: Clearly she's jason: And so she really wants Sierra to be with her son. PropJosh: right. She is trying her damnedest to hook up Sierra to her son with her son, KJ. jason: Yep. And her son is also wants the same thing. So just break up with the girl, you know. It's like this is like you don't have to be they ain't got they they not in they not married, they ain't got kids. he has no, you know, I guess we do find out that he know he's known her since, you know, they were kids. So there's like that maybe a sense of obligation. 7evenThirty: Right. Right. PropJosh: I know, it's so stupid. It's like why are you even engaged to her then? 7evenThirty: Right, he's acting like he's trapped to her. They not even married. PropJosh: Right. That was like his only girlfriend. They just kinda pushed him. That's probably why 'cause they kinda just Yeah, yeah, pretty much. They grew up together, so kind of 7evenThirty: Like an arranged marriage. jason: Mm hmm. So 7evenThirty: that's very important. Ca can we rewind it? jason: Yeah, that was a that was another thing I thought that was like they they hinted some things where G ends up getting a a letter in the mail about something. So we're like, what is that? you know. So when do we f when would you find out that he's a virgin? 7evenThirty: Yeah, he he got a letter in the mail from his from his mom. PropJosh: We find out he's a virgin after the scene 'cause I was like 'cause when you say he was a bull virgin, I was like Bullshit. jason: After what scene, Josh, tell us what's happening. PropJosh: They had she's she's well, she was already yelling at him for not coming home last night or something like that. Like he 'cause he was out with Sierra at the border car yeah, yeah, yeah on his date. But he he was like, Well, I got home late, then I woke up early. And she was like, Well, you ain't you know, and then he I think he told her to go home or something like that, 'cause she in his bed and stuff. So they clearly spend the night together multiple times. But then later he says, I don't know how it comes up that he's a virgin. I forgot what happened. jason: Yeah, he went on a date. yeah. PropJosh: When they say he's a virgin later, which I was like, bullshit 7evenThirty: Yeah. jason: That was a unnecessary detail. but I think the whole point with that was trying to make it look like he was e more innocent, just to be show to show that he's just a he's just a victim in all this. PropJosh: Well they I they wanted to show that the he d wasn't having sex with her but the with something else. I I was almost revealed something. jason: my goodness. We about to get to that. Let's go ahead and get to that 'cause we about a we about you know, there's nothing else that really happened in the movie to the last five minutes. So so yeah, we're gonna fast forward to the climax of the movie. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: No. Literally. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, when they had church. 7evenThirty: Well well, he goes back over to her house, right? jason: Yeah. There's a kiss, you know. she ends up con she ends up talking to G. PropJosh: yeah, I like this 7evenThirty: this is a very important PropJosh: scene. Yes, I actually like this scene. 7evenThirty: scene. This is a very important scene. jason: Okay, talk about it. 7evenThirty: She goes Sierra goes back to the Del Taco and she's hanging out but borderline tacos and she's hanging out with G. And like, you know, they're basically like I guess getting some closure behind everything. And like he sincerely and and he seems very sincere. jason: Sierra. Border borderline tacos. Mm-hmm. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah, he's apologizing to her for treating her for doing her like that, you know. Right, right. jason: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: And she's talking, she's like, you know, I'm really relieved to hear that that that takes away this thing, you know what I'm saying? And and hopefully PropJosh: Yeah, and she says that jason: Yep. PropJosh: it's not completely his fault 'cause she was like, Well, you know, I still a I still agreed to all this as well. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm, jason: But that's that's 7evenThirty: mm-hmm. jason: not true. She was a child and it was his fault. So yes. And yes. And I mean exactly. Jason is a hundred percent right. Because sh her mom was the one that said, go do it, and she did not want to do it. That was not no, it was not consensual. So 7evenThirty: Right, right. She was still a child. By the by the eyes of the law. PropJosh: This is this is Jason's lawyer. I wanna confirm what Jason said. 7evenThirty: Thank you. And Marcus's new lawyer too. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: If I had to fire my old lawyer, he would help him. Thank you, new white lawyer. jason: But anyway. PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha! 7evenThirty: And a good day to you, too, sir. jason: my goodness. my goodness. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. my goodness. Okay. So but she's she does take some ownership unnecessarily. But it just shows that okay. my goodness. PropJosh: Exceditis? Sorry now, now you you know we don't need you yet this lawyer. 7evenThirty: Who said he popped up out of nowhere. jason: But yeah, it it just shows it just shows that he wasn't he wasn't a bad guy. Yeah, it's he keeps getting pimp that's exactly right. Okay, okay, okay. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. 7evenThirty: He looks the most like a pimp in that scene. yeah, wait. Well well pause pause right here. PropJosh: I know he gets more and more pimp like in every scene. He keeps adding more he keeps adding more wardrobe. 7evenThirty: Hold on, hold on, hold on, wait. Wait a minute. Wait. All right. So in the scene where she went where she went and visited G, it is very important to note that she ended up telling him, I really want you to grow as a person. I just want to know you're doing good. Hopefully, you find a church home and stuff like this. And he's like, Yeah, well, I ain't really, you know, I ain't really found a church home. Well, you should come to my church. yeah, well. jason: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: What church is she like, yeah, my church, this and and this Pastor Powell what's his name? Pastor Powell. Yeah, it's Pastor Pastor Who? Yeah, and then that rings a bell in his head. He's like, you know, I think I will come to that church. All right, so that's just very important to know. jason: Yeah. something. PropJosh: Yeah, she mentioned the pastor's name. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Right, right. jason: So my thought was that he must have heard that that was the pastor that his friend was referring to that was doing drugs. So that's kinda what I was thinking. 7evenThirty: That got the drugs. Right, right, right, right. That's where the story, PropJosh: Yeah, that's what I immediately thought too. 7evenThirty: there's some good writing here. You know what I'm saying? Like there's there's story, there's backstory, there's there's there's clues, there's foreshadowing, there's a little bit of element of surprise, you know. There's some twists, a couple twists that's coming up, and so you know, it's it's not a bad, it's not a bad move. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah. There's clues. jason: Yep, there's clues. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Which is my favorite part. Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: But yeah, all right. So now here right, right. He's wearing all red and r red pimp and a red and a fur collar around. jason: But yes, he keeps getting pimpier and pimpier. This is like he's like extra pimp. PropJosh: Right. He's good. He's in full pimp mode now. It's like if it's telling the audience basically, hey, if you didn't know before, this guy is a pimp gangster. And you didn't figure out. Right, right, yeah, exactly. We're the red 7evenThirty: Right. And then he's in full demon mode, right? Right here. Right, I'm a gangster pimp demon. I'm I'm a full demon now. And then like jason: Is not a pastor. 7evenThirty: and then he's in his final form right here. And then so and so I wonder if they did that on purpose though, to completely parallel the pastor that we met at the beginning, who was just a little bit of a pimp, to full devil right here. So PropJosh: Ha ha ha. jason: Mm-hmm. Yep, he's evolved. Yeah. PropJosh: They did. jason: Mm hmm. Right. Mm-hmm. The red is definitely not subtle. I think that's definitely intentional. Cause he's all he's all talking about, you know, I need to I need to I wanna leave Ashley. It's like, no, you've been with her, you gotta be with her. you don't need to be with that early girl, you know. Yep, he does. He's yeah, he mentions like he says all that stuff about he's like, You don't even know Sierra, man. You don't even know her. I love her, you know. I'm gonna leave Ashley. PropJosh: Ho would have stripper hoe? jason: And so, Yep. And then they they talk about other things. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. yeah, he makes a deal. That's part of the side plot. He makes a deal with the Mexican dudes who officially, he like, alright, cool. I'm up he's hooking him up with a different supplier as of as of officially as of now. And meanwhile, his son, who's completely sweet, innocent, never seen a day in his life, is just minding his own business. And he's in his apartment, he's in his house, and then his jason: Mm-hmm. A hundred percent not one day. Mm-hmm. He breaks up with 7evenThirty: Hot fiance comes over and he's like, you know what? I don't think we belong together. I don't you know, I don't think I don't think I can do this. I don't think this is right for me. Which I guess he's being honest with himself. jason: Oops, I wanted more. Yeah, I mean he wasn't he wasn't she wasn't really into him too much, honestly. Yeah, so you can tell. 7evenThirty: No, she ain't give a damn about him. PropJosh: She was just acting with just being jealous. That's all it was. I think maybe we should have saw some scenes where it's like she didn't really care. jason: Yeah, she was jealous. There was no scene that she looked like she actually cared about him. She just acted jealous. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Right. PropJosh: Right. 7evenThirty: I think she PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, because all I could get from her is just jealousy. That's it. jason: Okay. 7evenThirty: Right. Yeah, jealousy. Yeah, and then here's a development of the side plot. Another twist is that the Mexican dude is really a undercover cop. jason: So now we gotta twist. Whoa. is really a undercover cop. What So that's what we see. Yeah. All right. So this is the last scene, right? PropJosh: So he hasn't officially broke up with Ashley yet. 7evenThirty: let's hear this song. Let's hear this song. Best. That's the that's the theme song. That's the title song. jason: Okay. We're gonna play it thirty seconds. That was a flirt tap. 7evenThirty: I know. That wasn't even I'ma mad at you, Tap. That's I'ma f PropJosh: No. 7evenThirty: fuck you later when you wake up, Tap. jason: Ha ha! 7evenThirty: Ha ha ha. jason: Read the caption. 7evenThirty: my god. jason: Read again. PropJosh: I know, man. They didn't even care when they do these captions. 7evenThirty: Yes ha' seal. Yeah yes has seal. jason: Yep. No, it didn't say yes. It said he has seal. That's what it said. He has seal. Not yes, he will. He has seal. Yep, he has seal. Yeah. And did not even edit it. PropJosh: They really didn't care. He has sealed. They did not care. They just let it automat they did the auto auto thing for the captions and just sent it. And then 7evenThirty: Ha ha ha. It that's that's my point. These motherfuckers ain't they jason: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: got AI doing this shit. jason: So this is the last this is the last scene. This is the climax right here. So PropJosh: That church looked empty though. 7evenThirty: Yeah, that's actually empty as hell. They the only ones in there. jason: Or PropJosh: I know. They should have had jason: all right, Josh, explain. PropJosh: a lot of people come in. They try to do they're doing the angles they're doing the angles as if there's a bunch of people there, but you can clearly tell it's just the cast of the movie. 7evenThirty: No, that it's not working. Right. I think that I think it should have been full of people and it would have and they should have had people all back there. The choir and stuff should have been sitting up there. Back there behind everybody. And it would have been more of a big deal 'cause it would have been like now what he's about to say is gonna just shock everybody in the church. It would have been like, you know. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Right, right. jason: But maybe it was just a rehearsal day. PropJosh: Right. jason: Mm. It's alright. Don't you know, they they needed they needed what it needed. Yeah. That's fine. PropJosh: Well, I when I was watching I was thinking like it was a lot of people, but you know, from the angles as a director, I can tell there's not that many there's not 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: Right. That's that doesn't matter. This is the most important part though. So explaining what happened. I was telling Josh the tells what happened. PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: All right, so Jason, yeah, give us the reveal. yeah, yeah, Josh can do it. Yeah. jason: He's been holding it back. you want to play the whole thing? You gotta tell it. You gotta tell it. You gotta tell it, Josh. Explain it. Who's he? Talk about it. PropJosh: I was gonna say just play the audio. 7evenThirty: No, no, we don't wanna just play the audio. Yeah, it's 'cause it's we only we don't have the rights to this. PropJosh: So he he admits that he was in jail. G. G gets up and he's at the church and he admits that, you know but then he talks about he got a letter right when he came out of jail from his mom to find out who his d who his dad was or something like that. jason: He's at the church. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Yeah, because his mom just died. PropJosh: Yeah, just died right before he got out. Yeah, like the day before he got out of jail. jason: Day before he got out of prison. Yep. 7evenThirty: Right, the day he got in prison. Right. He said, Hey son, I'm dying, I want you to know. Mm-hmm. jason: I'm your birth mom. 'Cause he I think she was he was adopted. PropJosh: yeah, yeah, 'cause he was 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or in foster homes or something. jason: And so he never knew yeah, he never knew his parents. And like he's the reason why I gave you up for adoption. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Was cause what jason: Because I was raped. You still want me to play it now? 7evenThirty: yeah, now now you can listen. PropJosh: Giving me a fork. Yeah, yeah. 7evenThirty: Yeah. She got proof. She got proof of who the father is. jason: Yeah. 7evenThirty: Yeah, he still talking about that. I thought he talked about all that. jason: No, I hear that yet. PropJosh: I see. jason: No, he just he was just talking about it his whole past, doing his testimony. Yep. Where you come from? Where you come from? 7evenThirty: Where you come from, man? Tell talk about it, man. jason: okay, okay. Yeah, he's such a nice we know exactly what it is. He's like, let me see what you're talking about. 7evenThirty: Show the pastor. As soon as he said that you already know what it is. Come. I PropJosh: Ha ha ha 7evenThirty: was back here like bullshit. jason: The name on the birth certificate. What's the name on the birth certificate? You don't recognize? 7evenThirty: What's the name? Who name is it? PropJosh: Funny you call me son. jason: Uhhuh. Why is that funny? 7evenThirty: I'll see, I'll see. jason: Underage girl. Got her pregnant. You wanted to have abortion because of you. Okay. no, you made that decision yourself. 7evenThirty: Wow. Right. PropJosh: Ha ha. Ha ha A 7evenThirty: Yeah. I was literally I'm like I'm like okay he may have done that but that didn't mean you had to go do you didn't even know this motherfucker. It's because of you and your pedophile DNA that it made me a pedophile in my DNA. So now I'm gonna pass on pedophilia to all my kids. jason: my goodness. He didn't even know about it. Yeah, he know but I guess PropJosh: I know, I know. jason: That's I think that's the the th the theory. That's PropJosh: I know, 'cause you have a son, Gabriel, so he's gonna be a pedophile. The way it's going in that order. jason: I don't think it works like that though. 7evenThirty: Right. So I guess I guess he's gonna be a pedophile too. This part jason: Yeah. 7evenThirty: right here had me cracking up because he was talking so fast in Detroit. I was like, I had to rewind it. I'm like, okay. So who is who now? Alright, so the pastor the yeah, yeah, the pastor got a lady, got a got a young girl pregnant who ended up being D's mom. jason: You wanna play it? Explain it. I'm not gonna play Let me let you let's talk about Mm-hmm. G, Glean. Yeah. Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: Who we now find G G's mom, who we now finding out. Then the light-skinned dude that the pastor was talking to earlier in the movie about his girl died, about his sister died, he stepped up, he like, wait a minute, that necklace that that that she left G what's his name? Yeah, G. I recognize that necklace. That's a necklace my sister got from her 16th birthday. And and and you did, you actually jason: Sister. Yeah. Glenn G. Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: Basically it's further proving that that that was his sister. And then who's name who who what what just happened here? jason: They also They they talked about the name. Sorry, I'm laughing at Okay, okay. 7evenThirty: Wait, wait, rewind it, rewind it. PropJosh: Somehow they found out that he was sleeping that the pastor was sleeping with Ashley. 7evenThirty: Yeah. That's my s yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's play this. jason: Did you want to hear the explanation? PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: Okay, so he he been sleeping with right. jason: He knew about it already. He PropJosh: Now, how do you find that out? With a fiance, his son's fiance, that's who he's been sleeping with. jason: knew about it. He so which is his which is his daughter. And he knew so he said, I want to kill you since I found that out. So he when did he find that out? 7evenThirty: Right. Which is fancy Jones, right? PropJosh: Yeah. I know they didn't say that part. He just he found out somehow. 7evenThirty: Right. So that's the part that fucked me and Tori up so bad. We was confused. PropJosh: And she was like, Who's Ashley? And Ashley because they didn't show her face as she ran off. Cause I thought the same thing. jason: Ha ha ha. 7evenThirty: Right. There is several reasons there's several reasons why we were confused. If they ever said Ashley name earlier in the movie, they really don't make a big deal of that at all. It it doesn't stick for somebody who got ADHD or whatever the fuck. And then secondly, he was just talking about his sister. And then he said, I wanted to kill you when I found out. And I thought he was gonna say you were sleeping with my sister. And then he said, He said, Yeah, you jason: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right. 7evenThirty: That was my sister. I wanted to kill you when I found out you've been sleeping with Ashley since she was 16. Wait, how the fuck we get to Ashley? And who the fuck is Ashley? And then third, they didn't even show Ashley's face for me to connect the name Ashley to any face. So me and Tori was like, who in the fuck is Ashley? jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Right. Yeah, I get it. jason: She just ran out. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yep. And he doesn't look too old to be the d father of Ashley. Like he doesn't look like he's a father of Ashley. but they the same age. They all the same age. All e the whole cast. This was so stupid. I was thinking the same thing. I'm like, why? Why? No. 7evenThirty: We were mad behind that. Right, right. A lot of these people look like they in a similar age range, right. PropJosh: in this part too. He this was so stupid. 7evenThirty: And Torres said, You better not propose to her. Torres said, You better not fucking propose. PropJosh: I was like, no, no. I mean I guess they've been dating, so we might as well 7evenThirty: No, there's a time and setting and an appropriate thing for this. This is not the fucking time. Absolutely not. Tori would have been like, no. No, I won't marry you. And then he punched out his dad. And then the police show up immediately. Everything happens immediately. jason: This is so stupid. This is not the time. This is not and this is not the time. Okay. You this is PropJosh: This is not the time. Ha ha ha. jason: my goodness. But this is this is but this is Well This is what I told you PropJosh: Punch. And then the police show up, everything happens Everything's jason: at the beginning. PropJosh: happening right now. jason: Remember what I said? I said that this movie doesn't waste time trying to, you know, give you the other stuff. This is everything happens in five minutes. And this is the way that they wanted to wrap up everything. It was like, man, we got a certain time. We gotta end it. Let's go ahead and wrap this up. And it had to be a big climax, which is what I love. I love this about this movie. So I wouldn't have had it any other way. 7evenThirty: It just wraps it up in a boat. PropJosh: I'll tell you one thing. I'll tell you one thing. Next Sunday, that church is gonna be filled. It's gonna be full. 7evenThirty: Ha ha ha. jason: Well, who's gonna be the pastor? Who's gonna be preaching next Sunday? The son? K J? PropJosh: They w I don't know, but it's gonna 7evenThirty: The perfect the perfect son. The perfect son is gonna be preaching there next Sunday. He's gonna have all everybody in attendance. The whole Detroit gonna be in attendance. PropJosh: be full. They wanna know what happened. Mm-hmm. jason: Yep. Yep. So there's a lot so there's a lot that they they explained that it was like trying to catch up with it. So the pastor is a pedophile. He was obviously sleeping and he groomed he groomed his son's fiance since she was a child and continued to be with her to a point where she was almost like dependent on that. So she was broken and ran away in in tears because she was groomed. So she wasn't a healthy person. He also PropJosh: He's 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah. Right. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. jason: raped the d f mother of G, right? So like there's that part. He's also a drug dealer. PropJosh: G. 7evenThirty: Ghm. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: So we find out so we also and we which means we found out that G and K J are brothers. jason: And K J are brothers. They said 'cause the narrator, Sierra, was like, and they took a DNA test and it proved that they're brothers. So they mentioned that. And and so and then yeah, and then I think that's is that everything that happened? 7evenThirty: Right. PropJosh: Which means K J is trying to be the stepfather of his nephew. Yes. jason: Nephew? Yeah, yeah. 7evenThirty: Yep. Yep, it's gonna be his nephew and his stepson. jason: but and then it also shows that at the very end that G is gonna be a good father. He's not gonna be like his dad who was a rapist. 7evenThirty: Yeah, G is a good person now. He's not raping anymore. PropJosh: We've been not raping. He hasn't been raping in twelve years. 7evenThirty: He's not raping anymore. We all know he was doing it in prison. It's a big guy. It's a big dude. jason: Yeah. PropJosh: He was praying he was praying in prison. That's what they said he was doing. And KJ and Sierra has a have their own child. Yeah. Which will be the cousin cousin brother. jason: They got married and they have a baby. Happily ever after. 7evenThirty: The cousin brother It's my brother cousin. It's my nephew sonning It's my jason: Cousin, brother. Brother cousin. 7evenThirty: daddy jason: Yep, that's it. That's it. Yeah. Yep. Nephew son, brother, cousin. Yeah, that's it. 7evenThirty: uncleaning PropJosh: Hahaha jason: My daddy That's about right. So yeah. So what's the what makes this a faith based movie? PropJosh: Well she says it at the end, won't 7evenThirty: Yeah, won't he do it? PropJosh: he do it because of God? 7evenThirty: Right, won't he do it? jason: so she 'cause the thing is she turned her life around early on. So she actually never did anything bad. PropJosh: Yeah, that's why I mentioned earlier. I said her story pretty much gets wrapped up in the first thirty minutes. So her story is good. She's good after she finds the church, and that's it for her. It's just everything else around her is crazy. jason: Right. So she's just that's right, yeah. Yeah, she never have right, yeah. Cause she don't have no more real drama personally. Yeah, that's true. Mm. 7evenThirty: Yeah. PropJosh: Right. That's why they showed the her friend from the strip club to show you that that could have been the her path. Yeah, the parallel. And it's like, no, sh her life is better now. Like so so Sierra was good thirty minutes into the movie. 7evenThirty: The parallel. Mm-hmm. jason: Yeah. That's true. Okay. She was healed and she was 7evenThirty: Yeah. Even though five seconds into the movie she's snorting a line of coat. PropJosh: Right. jason: Not five seconds, 'cause you got you got the beginning part. After past all the actress, yeah, twelve, yeah. 7evenThirty: The first beginning part of the movie before that. Yeah, before PropJosh: Well we see her, when you see the actress. 7evenThirty: before the flashback scene, there's a scene of her that says, Life can be hard. Sniff. Then she go back to the beginning. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's like life can be hard. Sniff line of coke. She's like stripping at the strip club. And it's like jason: it's like that before it's before the flashback? wow, okay, okay. That's crazy. PropJosh: yeah, yeah. Yeah. Ha ha ha ha! jason: Best interested. 7evenThirty: It's like a clip montage of what's to come. And then it's the flashback scene. Yeah. jason: Okay. That's interesting. Well Yeah. Maybe it's her like figuring out life. they actually they they basically preview the whole movie in the first thirty seconds. They literally show the entire movie in the first minute of the movie. Yeah, they show the I'm looking at it now, it's like, yeah, it's the whole Yeah, okay. PropJosh: So for our f next faith based movie. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Yeah. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Showing you what's gonna happen. Yeah. Like when let me tell you my story, you know. I've seen movies do that before. 7evenThirty: I d I don't I'm not really a fan of that. jason: I see that. I mean I forgot about it. I wasn't paying attention though. 7evenThirty: Personally. PropJosh: Yeah, Tubi movies love have narrations. You notice that? They love doing narrations. 7evenThirty: Yeah. Tubi movies a a lot of Tubi movies are based off gangster movies and gangster movies have narration because a lot of the them directed like them Martin Scorsese and yeah, yeah, and Francis Four Coppola type shit. And so a lot of them is just filled with narration like that. There's something that picked up. jason: Well it's a it's a good PropJosh: Like the Mark Scorsese movies, yeah. Yeah, yeah, exactly. That makes sense. jason: So what would y'all I guess do we do a rating on this or what y'all think about it? What's your f Mm. Yes. PropJosh: that's a replay for me. 7evenThirty: it's d absolutely a replay. I would I I would I plan on watching this movie quite often. Yeah. jason: Yes. It's it's very entertaining. I'm I'm I'm looking PropJosh: Yeah. Only movie to make me side with a pedophile. jason: for side I mean you're talking about you're talking about G G was a the G was G was likable the way they played him. The actor the actor did good at making him likable. 7evenThirty: I d well well. Good night. PropJosh: Well, I like the character. He was a good guy. Yeah, I'm talking about Jay ain't talking the pastor. 7evenThirty: I can I mean G was G was forgivable, but PropJosh: Yeah. 7evenThirty: I I can't even say I like them 'cause I can't get the I don't know, the pedophile out of my mind and then jason: You can't get past that first yeah, that's I mean, that's PropJosh: Yeah, it's it's a bad thing. It's it was weird how they did it 'cause I felt bad for the girl especially when they had Crystal Doll's actual daughter playing the part and I like, she's so she seems so innocent. Yeah, it's an actual child. Like, leave that little girl alone. Don't touch her. jason: a big deal. 7evenThirty: Mm-hmm. Right. jason: Right, so actual child. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. 7evenThirty: Yeah, I f I f I felt I felt f forgiveness for the character, but I was still kinda looking at him the whole time, like, Man, why you do that, bruh? Like you know what I'm saying? It's like I don't know. They kept me from liking him. jason: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah. jason: Yeah, how to do that. Yeah. PropJosh: Completely, yeah. That's the that's the problem. That's why you shouldn't do it. jason: Mm-hmm. 7evenThirty: Yeah. jason: But they had to have a redemption and they had to have a reason. He was like. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And they had to make it they made an excuse. They blamed it all on the pastor. It's like it's your fault that I was like that. 7evenThirty: He redeemed he was redeemed though. He was still redeemed as a as a character. He was still redeemed. PropJosh: Yeah. I know that was bullshit. 7evenThirty: I know. That's that's the thing. That's why I can't complete right. Yeah, that's why I couldn't PropJosh: Because of you, I I end up going to jail for the exact same thing. Bullshit! jason: Yep. Mm hmm. So yeah, that's That's not how that works. So So yeah, that's not how it works. PropJosh: I inherit my pedophilia from you. jason: Yeah, that doesn't doesn't work like that. It was yeah. 7evenThirty: It's because of you I can't like grown women my old age. jason: Yeah, that's anyway. So yeah. watch it, you know. The moral of the story is everybody can everybody is redeemable. I think that's probably the won't he do it, you know? So so yep. Brandon Lee is the guy's name. Check it out. you know, if there's other movies that he's directed or done, I'm pretty sure he's got some more, so I'm definitely gonna be looking. I'm gonna look up. Yeah. So yeah. 7evenThirty: Brandon Lee. Yeah, I'm gonna probably see if he got some more stuff on too. Brandon PropJosh: yeah, yeah, of course. Of course. 7evenThirty: yeah, here he is. Brandon Lee. jason: Mm-hmm. All right. PropJosh: N Bruce Lee's son, not to be confused with Bruce Lee's son. jason: Mm mm mm. 7evenThirty: Won't he do it? Won't he will. jason: Yep, the end.
