- 0:01Speaker 1: Onto Ole Miss for a few minutes, presented by PrizePix here.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I mean, I think you got to look at this, Cole,
- 0:08Speaker 1: as a missed opportunity. Because the game was, the game
- 0:12Speaker 1: was over. you know, and you gave yourself a chance
- 0:15Speaker 1: to get back into it. We said before the week,
- 0:18Speaker 1: like Ole Miss is playing better. Ole Miss is probably
- 0:20Speaker 1: the better team, you know, in this, I don't know
- 0:23Speaker 1: what better is subjective, but like Ole Miss is certainly
- 0:25Speaker 1: playing better. Ole Miss is the, didn't seem to be here.
- 0:27Speaker 1: So football's dumb and Texas will win. And, and, and
- 0:30Speaker 1: 24 to three, I think that's when we text each
- 0:32Speaker 1: other and we were just like, Hey man, what, you know,
- 0:35Speaker 1: I guess this is what, what was coming, you know,
- 0:37Speaker 1: like the football guys just are going to let it
- 0:39Speaker 1: be close. kind of like Ole Miss getting embarrassed by Florida,
- 0:42Speaker 1: who had just come off of back, you know, back
- 0:44Speaker 1: or embarrassed by Florida after Ole Miss had just won
- 0:47Speaker 1: a couple of big games to start the year. So
- 0:49Speaker 1: the game was over and then you had a chance
- 0:54Speaker 1: for it to go your way, like steal one. And
- 1:00Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if it's just expending too
- 1:02Speaker 1: much energy in the comeback. I don't know if it's
- 1:05Speaker 1: Texas figured things out, started playing a little bit better.
- 1:07Speaker 1: It is a part of that for sure. But, kind
- 1:11Speaker 1: of a wasted opportunity for Ole Miss, but again, they,
- 1:14Speaker 1: they almost lost it twice, you know, not only counts
- 1:17Speaker 1: for one loss, but you lost it in the first
- 1:18Speaker 1: half and then you kind of lost it again at
- 1:21Speaker 1: the end.
- 1:22Speaker 2: You did.
- 1:22Speaker 3: And it was trained at champ was his worst game
- 1:24Speaker 3: in my opinion. And he had a lot of mistakes
- 1:26Speaker 3: and that's credit to will must champ. That's credit that
- 1:28Speaker 3: Texas defense getting after him playing really sticky coverage.
- 1:32Speaker 2: But again, I will say this and I'll die on
- 1:33Speaker 2: this take.
- 1:34Speaker 3: And Tom, I hate to be this guy because if
- 1:36Speaker 3: I know how you feel and you and I have
- 1:37Speaker 3: argued it, um, That's the best quarterback in the SEC,
- 1:40Speaker 3: and that's the most dangerous quarterback in the SEC. Because
- 1:43Speaker 3: I don't know who's coming back down 24-3 and finding.
- 1:45Speaker 2: A way to tie the game.
- 1:46Speaker 1: On the road in DKR.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah, on the road.
- 1:50Speaker 3: With no argument. Yeah, with also Kiwan Lacy being out
- 1:54Speaker 3: of this game and no run game. And you have
- 1:56Speaker 3: to do it all on your own.
- 1:57Speaker 2: And again, what's the reality? I think of Ole Miss.
- 2:00Speaker 3: As much as I think Horatio Fields is coming into
- 2:02Speaker 3: his own, Odom has done a really nice job.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Of creating opportunities for himself.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Traylon Ray was a former cornerback that now is playing
- 2:09Speaker 3: wide receiver again. You know, what you got with Frazier
- 2:12Speaker 3: and Towson and Lindsey in the backfield. This is an
- 2:16Speaker 3: offense that's going to run through three players. Deuce Alexander,
- 2:18Speaker 3: Traylon Chandler, and Kevon Lacey. And if you can get
- 2:21Speaker 3: one of them to go ahead and slow on down
- 2:22Speaker 3: and make the other half to be the focal point,
- 2:25Speaker 3: you're 38% of the job done at that moment.
- 2:29Speaker 2: And you saw it last night.
- 2:30Speaker 3: There were so many times that they took away Deuce
- 2:32Speaker 3: Alexander and his speed in the open field. There were
- 2:34Speaker 3: so many times that Trayn had was bottled on up
- 2:36Speaker 3: and he couldn't move outside the pace. Kiwan Lacey's just
- 2:41Speaker 3: banged up and bruised the entire year, and it's not
- 2:43Speaker 3: been the season that you have wanted to see from
- 2:45Speaker 3: a guy who last year was the FBS leader in
- 2:47Speaker 3: rushing touchdowns. So again, they came up with opportunities, but
- 2:51Speaker 3: here you are still finding a way to answer, finding
- 2:54Speaker 3: a way to respond, penalties included with it that gave
- 2:57Speaker 3: you the benefactor in this game, but penalties that also
- 2:59Speaker 3: were called against you in the first half that gave
- 3:01Speaker 3: Texas the opportunities, and you brought yourself back within reach.
- 3:05Speaker 3: There were a couple of moments that I really just
- 3:07Speaker 3: kind of squandered and asked myself, what are you doing?
- 3:10Speaker 3: The first one was right before halftime. You go for
- 3:12Speaker 3: the fake punt. And you go and it's fourth down.
- 3:15Speaker 3: And I know that you're down by three scorers. But
- 3:18Speaker 3: whenever you can take the points, knowing that you walk
- 3:21Speaker 3: away with something after that impressive a drive, you shouldn't.
- 3:24Speaker 3: And Trinidad forces a throw, and it's picked off right
- 3:27Speaker 3: at the goal line, and you don't walk away with nothing.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I hated that play.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I hated the fact that they decided to kick a
- 3:32Speaker 3: field goal with Lucas Canero because they say, well, he's
- 3:34Speaker 3: got the strongest leg in college football. Guys, either go
- 3:37Speaker 3: for it on fourth down there or punt, pin Texas deep.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And hopefully your defense that is playing with a rhythm
- 3:42Speaker 3: will get a stop, you'll get better field position, and
- 3:45Speaker 3: you'll have an opportunity to strike. Because guess what happened? Block, kick,
- 3:48Speaker 3: they're at midfield, they get a field goal out of it.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I didn't like that play design. And then even on
- 3:52Speaker 3: the final drive, when you talk about, hey, Trinidad's, you know,
- 3:56Speaker 3: you get the ball back. And he has his moments,
- 3:58Speaker 3: and he connects on fourth down twice, and he keeps
- 4:00Speaker 3: the drive alive. It felt like on those last two plays,
- 4:04Speaker 3: they should have been trying to go for quick strikes,
- 4:06Speaker 3: get out of bounds. And make that last throw so
- 4:09Speaker 3: much easier.
- 4:10Speaker 1: 25 yards. 15 yards.
- 4:12Speaker 2: 18 yards. Make that throw so much more balanced.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Can we back up just a sec? I hated that
- 4:18Speaker 1: they tried to run. I mean, I hated that he
- 4:21Speaker 1: ran the ball. I would have rather an incompletion and
- 4:25Speaker 1: not wasted. They wasted 25 seconds when he ran the
- 4:27Speaker 1: ball on that third down. Now he completed the fourth down. Yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I get it, man. You want to trust your legs,
- 4:32Speaker 1: but like. I mean, maybe he saw something different. Obviously,
- 4:36Speaker 1: I'm watching from a much different angle than Trinidad Chambliss is,
- 4:39Speaker 1: but I thought that was a terrible decision. And if
- 4:41Speaker 1: they had another 25 seconds, quick break from the video,
- 4:44Speaker 1: want to let you know this video is brought to
- 4:47Speaker 1: you by PrizePix. They just launched PrizePix packs. I've been
- 4:51Speaker 1: trying to tell you guys about it. They've got real football, basketball,

- 5:02Speaker 1: cards home or sell them back instantly at a fair

- 5:18Speaker 1: below in the description. Go check out price picks packs.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I think it would have been different. I think it
- 5:23Speaker 1: would have been different at the very end.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Oh, for sure.
- 5:26Speaker 3: And I think that's the main thing is that like,
- 5:28Speaker 3: it's too little too late of the mistakes that you
- 5:30Speaker 3: made early on that came back to bite you.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Because that's what really happened in this game.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Another thing that we got to talk about, which, fair
- 5:38Speaker 3: or unfair, that game that we saw last week against Mizzou,
- 5:42Speaker 3: shutting down Jamal Roberts, that was the outlier. This is
- 5:45Speaker 3: more of what your run defense is. Because you allowed
- 5:47Speaker 3: Relique Brown to go off against you. And I know
- 5:49Speaker 3: that you could say, oh yeah, well, you know, he
- 5:51Speaker 3: only averaged 6.8 yards. He had three runs of over
- 5:53Speaker 3: 20 yards downfield. I mean, you can't get gassed like that.
- 5:57Speaker 3: and allow him to have those explosives and be able
- 5:59Speaker 3: to go ahead and kind of set the tone and
- 6:01Speaker 3: set you up for a touchdown. That's just kind of
- 6:04Speaker 3: the bottom line. And so you have now no margin
- 6:08Speaker 3: for error. I don't know what is going to be
- 6:10Speaker 3: the signature win the way that Texas has or the
- 6:12Speaker 3: way that maybe Ohio State would have at the end
- 6:14Speaker 3: of the year that would justify you at 9-3 being
- 6:17Speaker 3: in the college football playoff. And your schedule isn't challenging
- 6:21Speaker 3: to the level of what Texas has to go through
- 6:24Speaker 3: or Ohio State has to go through. It's really coming
- 6:26Speaker 3: down to the Georgia game. You get Georgia in your
- 6:27Speaker 3: backyard and you have a couple weeks to get right.
- 6:30Speaker 3: But you can't also afford to play down to the
- 6:32Speaker 3: competition of Auburn. You can't afford to let Byron Brown
- 6:35Speaker 3: do what Arch Manning did at times in the open field.
- 6:38Speaker 3: You've got to look at the game plan of what
- 6:39Speaker 3: LSU did this past week and basically carbon copy paste it.
- 6:43Speaker 2: There's no margin for error.
- 6:45Speaker 3: And the problem was that it felt like this was
- 6:47Speaker 3: the moment where even with all the mistakes made in
- 6:50Speaker 3: the first half, even with all the bad of Trinidad,
- 6:52Speaker 3: you came back in. And unfortunately, it just wasn't enough
- 6:58Speaker 3: because of one side let the job down and a
- 7:00Speaker 3: couple of bad decisions ultimately was the deciding factor in
- 7:03Speaker 3: the second half.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Tom Ole Miss.
- 7:08Speaker 4: I don't think they're dead yet. It's just you look
- 7:12Speaker 4: at the rest of their schedule and you're trying to
- 7:13Speaker 4: figure out how are they going to put this thing together.
- 7:15Speaker 4: The fact that they're sitting at two losses now, two
- 7:18Speaker 4: losses within the conference, especially at Texas and at Florida.
- 7:22Speaker 4: You're faulting them already for Ross losses on the road.
- 7:26Speaker 4: So then you're looking at the rest of the schedule
- 7:27Speaker 4: and saying, like, OK, can you survive Auburn, who Auburn
- 7:30Speaker 4: was actually able to take out Georgia recently? Oh, by
- 7:33Speaker 4: the way, then you face the Georgia Bulldogs on November 7th.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Then you're at Oklahoma and their defensive effort. It's been
- 7:39Speaker 4: proven at least that, yes, if you focus everything on
- 7:43Speaker 4: Trinidad Chambliss, you can take him away at the college level.
- 7:47Speaker 4: You got Wofford on the 21st of November and then
- 7:50Speaker 4: Mississippi State at the end of the year in the
- 7:52Speaker 4: Egg Bowl, and that's unpredictable.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Damn Wofford.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I hate that week.
- 7:57Speaker 4: But like Georgia and the Egg Bowl are the two
- 7:59Speaker 4: games I'm looking at. It's like Camario Taylor and Mississippi
- 8:02Speaker 4: State have a chance to play spoiler in the last
- 8:04Speaker 4: game of the season. That would crush Rebels fans because
- 8:07Speaker 4: of everything that transpired last year in the offseason with
- 8:10Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin. Can we get back to the prominence that
- 8:12Speaker 4: we had last year? Can we get back to the
- 8:14Speaker 4: Final Four potentially? I look at this team, and I'm like, yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 4: I could see a path where they're in the Final
- 8:20Speaker 4: Four competing for a national championship, potentially. But just getting
- 8:23Speaker 4: out of their own way in the regular season is
- 8:25Speaker 4: a question mark.
- 8:30Speaker 1: What's their most likely loss left?
- 8:33Speaker 2: Georgia.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Georgia, and then I think Mississippi State. It's a rivalry game.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I forgot about Mississippi State, though. I mean, I will
- 8:43Speaker 1: buy the rivalry talk just slightly, but.
- 8:45Speaker 2: If the game was in Starkville, I'd feel a lot.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I feel better. They're just, I think they agree. Mississippi
- 8:52Speaker 1: state peaked in September. If we can, if we can,
- 8:54Speaker 1: I mean, injuries suck. I'm not trying to be a
- 8:56Speaker 1: jerk by saying that, but I don't seriously, I don't
- 9:00Speaker 1: think that's going to be a game. We'll see though.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I've said that about crazy. I didn't think Florida state,
- 9:03Speaker 1: Miami would be a game too.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Timeout.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Oklahoma is also a trap game in Norman late in
- 9:10Speaker 3: the year. That defense, you get nothing going with the offense.
- 9:15Speaker 1: You played the first half against Texas. Now you'd think
- 9:19Speaker 1: that they eventually get it clicking, though. That's the difference, right?
- 9:23Speaker 1: Ole Miss could score three in the first half, but
- 9:26Speaker 1: are we confident that Oklahoma can score three in the
- 9:28Speaker 1: first half?
- 9:33Speaker 3: If you play the way you did yesterday against Mississippi State, yeah, probably.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Do as John Mateer did. Just forgive yourself.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Forgive yourself.
- 9:43Speaker 2: You know what? You know what? I'm glad that he
- 9:46Speaker 2: did because then guess what he did? He didn't have
- 9:48Speaker 2: a turnover, which was like awesome for him. Imagine if
- 9:51Speaker 2: you did that. Imagine if you did that.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:54Speaker 2: John Mateer, comment section.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Perfect.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Mateer does this incredible job of playing three and a
- 9:58Speaker 3: half games really well per year.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Watch this.
- 10:00Speaker 4: So good oh so good and like granted is it
- 10:03Speaker 4: utep you know most of the time sure but john
- 10:06Speaker 4: mature my goodness just forgive yourself and move on i
- 10:09Speaker 4: i respect somebody who does who's gonna love themselves that
- 10:12Speaker 4: much i really do.
- 10:13Speaker 1: John mature against uga Interception. John Mateer against Texas is
- 10:17Speaker 1: no interceptions. John Mateer against Kentucky, three interceptions. John Mateer
- 10:21Speaker 1: against Mississippi State, zero interceptions.
- 10:26Speaker 2: It's every other week.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Whatever the more is on PrizePix for his interceptions next week,
- 10:31Speaker 1: we're picking it, boys. It's every freaking other week.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Shout out PrizePix, code HMA.
