- 0:08Speaker 1: it's HMA, and play a $ 5 lineup. And if you win,
- 0:11Speaker 1: you'll get $ 150 in lineups instantly. Before I get into this,
- 0:15Speaker 1: do me a favor, make sure you are subscribed to
- 0:16Speaker 1: my channel right now. 50% of you watching at home
- 0:19Speaker 1: aren't subscribed.
- 0:20Speaker 2: What are you doing? It's free.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It takes two seconds. So do me a favor, hit
- 0:23Speaker 1: that right this second. Now let's get into it. I
- 0:27Speaker 1: have spent the last day trying to figure out what
- 0:30Speaker 1: exactly I am supposed to do with that Missouri game.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I don't think the right reaction is to just throw
- 0:38Speaker 1: out everything we saw from Florida over the first month
- 0:40Speaker 1: of the season. But I also don't think you can just,
- 0:43Speaker 1: you know, shrug your shoulders, call it a bad day
- 0:46Speaker 1: and move on. There were way too many things in
- 0:48Speaker 1: that game that looked real. The offensive line getting pushed around.
- 0:53Speaker 1: the defense not adjusting, the penalties, the missed tackles, and
- 0:57Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe most concerning of all, the way
- 1:01Speaker 1: Florida responded once the game started to get away from them.
- 1:04Speaker 1: So I think this is where we have to separate
- 1:06Speaker 1: two things. Was it just bad football on one Saturday?
- 1:12Speaker 1: And what did Missouri show us that could actually become
- 1:16Speaker 1: a problem for.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Florida moving forward? These two things are not the same.
- 1:21Speaker 1: And with South Carolina coming to Gainesville followed by a
- 1:24Speaker 1: trip to Austin, we're going to get some answers pretty quickly.
- 1:28Speaker 1: So today I want to go through the areas where
- 1:31Speaker 1: I think Missouri may have genuinely exposed Florida and the
- 1:35Speaker 1: areas where I think people need to like pump the
- 1:37Speaker 1: brakes a little bit. Let's talk about the offensive line,
- 1:41Speaker 1: because to me, this is the biggest concern coming out
- 1:44Speaker 1: of Missouri. Florida had just run for more than 300
- 1:48Speaker 1: yards against Ole miss. They looked physical. They controlled the
- 1:51Speaker 1: line of scrimmage. Jaden Baugh and Duke Clark were running downhill.
- 1:55Speaker 1: The offensive line looked like it had become one of
- 1:57Speaker 1: the strengths of this football team. And then against Missouri,
- 2:01Speaker 1: completely different story. Florida struggled to consistently generate movement. They
- 2:05Speaker 1: struggled in pass protection. Missouri got penetration. Florida was behind
- 2:09Speaker 1: the chains way too often. And once that started happening,
- 2:12Speaker 1: the entire offense changed. Florida's identity up until this point
- 2:18Speaker 1: has been built around being able to run the football.
- 2:21Speaker 1: This offense works when Florida is dictating the terms, when
- 2:25Speaker 1: they're staying ahead of the chains, when the defense has
- 2:28Speaker 1: to respect Jaden Ma, when play action is available, when
- 2:31Speaker 1: Aaron Filo isn't being asked to consistently convert third and long.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Against Missouri, Florida never established that. So was the offensive
- 2:41Speaker 1: line exposed? I'm not ready to say that yet. One
- 2:46Speaker 1: bad game doesn't erase what we saw against Auburn and
- 2:48Speaker 1: Ole Miss. But I do think Missouri gave every defensive
- 2:52Speaker 1: coordinator left on Florida's schedule some film to study. They
- 2:56Speaker 1: showed that if you can disrupt Florida up front, get
- 2:58Speaker 1: penetration early, and make this offense play from behind, Florida
- 3:02Speaker 1: becomes a much more ordinary football team. And that's something
- 3:05Speaker 1: Florida's going to have to fix immediately. Did Missouri expose
- 3:10Speaker 1: Florida's defense? This is probably the part that bothers me
- 3:14Speaker 1: the most. Giving up points happened. College football is built
- 3:18Speaker 1: around offense. So you are going to give up points
- 3:22Speaker 1: over the course of the season. You are going to
- 3:24Speaker 1: give up explosive plays sometimes. But what happened in the
- 3:27Speaker 1: second half against Missouri felt different. Missouri found something, and
- 3:31Speaker 1: then Florida never really came up with an answer to
- 3:34Speaker 1: what they found. Jamal Roberts started ripping off huge runs.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Missouri began controlling the line of scrimmage. Florida missed tackles.
- 3:41Speaker 1: There were poor fits. Guys were out of position. And
- 3:44Speaker 1: I think the thing that really stood out to me
- 3:46Speaker 1: was that it just kept happening.
- 3:48Speaker 2: That's where the concern comes in.
- 3:50Speaker 1: If a team is beating you with the same concepts
- 3:52Speaker 1: over and over again, eventually you have to adjust. You
- 3:55Speaker 1: have to, as Buster Faulkner likes to say, change the picture.
- 3:59Speaker 1: You have to load the box. You have to change
- 4:01Speaker 1: your fronts. You have to do something that makes them
- 4:04Speaker 1: beat you another way. Florida didn't do that well enough.
- 4:07Speaker 1: And that makes this upcoming week really important. South Carolina
- 4:11Speaker 1: is going to watch every single snap of that Missouri tape.
- 4:14Speaker 2: So will Texas. So will Georgia.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Everybody left on Florida's schedule is going to ask the
- 4:18Speaker 1: same question. Can we make Florida defend the run the
- 4:22Speaker 1: way Missouri did? And until Florida proves otherwise, they're going
- 4:26Speaker 1: to keep seeing it. The penalties and self-inflicted mistakes. This
- 4:31Speaker 1: is another area where I think Florida got exposed a
- 4:33Speaker 1: little bit. Not because penalties are some new problem, but
- 4:37Speaker 1: because when Florida got uncomfortable, they started hurting themselves. And
- 4:40Speaker 1: that's a maturity issue. Good football teams don't make bad
- 4:43Speaker 1: situations worse. They don't take a five-yard problem and turn
- 4:47Speaker 1: it into a 15-yard problem. They don't follow up a
- 4:49Speaker 1: negative play with a penalty. They don't give the opponent
- 4:53Speaker 1: free first downs. And Florida did too much of that.
- 4:56Speaker 1: This is where John Summerall's message about player leadership becomes important.
- 5:00Speaker 1: He talks all the time about the difference between good
- 5:03Speaker 1: and great teams. The great teams are player-led. Well, the
- 5:07Speaker 1: game starts slipping away. That's when leadership matters. Who gets
- 5:10Speaker 1: everybody fired up? Who calms the offense down? Who grabs
- 5:13Speaker 1: somebody after a dumb penalty and says, enough? Who makes
- 5:18Speaker 1: sure that one bad series doesn't become three? Against Missouri,
- 5:22Speaker 1: Florida didn't look like a team that handled adversity very well.
- 5:26Speaker 1: That doesn't mean they don't have leadership, but it does
- 5:29Speaker 1: mean that we need those leaders to show up now.
- 5:32Speaker 1: We're going to take a break, form the video so
- 5:33Speaker 1: I can give some love over to Alumni Hall. Guys,
- 5:35Speaker 1: don't forget to use our code. You can use it

- 6:03Speaker 1: sent you. Use the code PEAK15. Save the 15% off.
- 6:07Speaker 1: We appreciate Alumni Hall for all their support. Okay. Let's
- 6:11Speaker 1: get back into this. Now, what about Aaron Filo? I
- 6:14Speaker 1: don't think Missouri exposed Aaron Filo. I actually think Missouri
- 6:17Speaker 1: gave us a much-needed maybe evaluation point. Almost every quarterback
- 6:21Speaker 1: looks good when the run game's working, the protection's clean,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and the offense is playing on schedule. The next step
- 6:26Speaker 1: is what happens when none of those things are true.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And against Missouri, Filo was under pressure. Florida couldn't consistently
- 6:32Speaker 1: run it. They got into obvious passing situations, and he
- 6:35Speaker 1: was asked to play from behind. That's really hard for
- 6:38Speaker 1: any quarterback, but especially a young one. I'm sure there
- 6:41Speaker 1: are throws that he would like back. There were decisions
- 6:44Speaker 1: that could have been better. But I'm not coming away
- 6:46Speaker 1: from Missouri suddenly worried about Aaron Filo. But I am
- 6:49Speaker 1: watching how he responds.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Does he press? Does he try to do too much?
- 6:53Speaker 1: Or does he come back against South Carolina and play
- 6:55Speaker 1: under control? Because part of being a great quarterback is
- 6:58Speaker 1: learning how to respond after you've gotten humbled. That's this
- 7:02Speaker 1: moment right now. The biggest thing Missouri may have exposed
- 7:06Speaker 1: is maturity or lack thereof. And that's probably the biggest
- 7:10Speaker 1: thing that they exposed. Florida looked like a team that
- 7:13Speaker 1: handled success really well through the first four games. Then
- 7:17Speaker 1: they beat Ole Miss. Then they jumped all the way
- 7:19Speaker 1: into the top 10. Everybody started talking about them. National
- 7:22Speaker 1: media started giving John Summerall credit. Florida started becoming one
- 7:26Speaker 1: of the hottest teams in the country. And one week later,
- 7:29Speaker 1: they got punched in the mouth. That makes you wonder,
- 7:31Speaker 1: did Florida fail the maturity test? Did they start believing
- 7:34Speaker 1: the hype? Did they lose some of that edge that
- 7:37Speaker 1: got them to 4-0? We can't know that from the outside,
- 7:41Speaker 1: but I will say this. Florida did not play with
- 7:43Speaker 1: the same urgency or physicality or discipline that we saw
- 7:46Speaker 1: the week before, and that does concern me. Great teams
- 7:50Speaker 1: don't just play great when everybody is telling them how
- 7:53Speaker 1: great they are. Great teams handle success differently. They handle expectations.
- 7:58Speaker 1: They handle everybody patting them on the back. And when
- 8:00Speaker 1: they get hit, they respond. Florida failed that test against Missouri.
- 8:05Speaker 2: But now they get another one.
- 8:07Speaker 1: So is it a wake-up call for the Gators, or
- 8:10Speaker 1: did they get exposed? Right now, I think the answer
- 8:12Speaker 1: is a little bit of both. I don't believe Florida
- 8:14Speaker 1: suddenly became a bad football team. I don't believe everything
- 8:17Speaker 1: we saw in the first month was fake. You don't
- 8:20Speaker 1: accidentally run for 300 yards against Ole Miss. You don't
- 8:23Speaker 1: accidentally start 4-0. You don't accidentally look physical and confident
- 8:26Speaker 1: for a month. Those things were real. But Missouri exposed
- 8:29Speaker 1: some things that Florida does need to address. The offensive
- 8:32Speaker 1: line can be disrupted. The defense has to adjust better
- 8:35Speaker 1: when an opponent finds something that works. Florida has to
- 8:38Speaker 1: tackle better. They have to stop hurting themselves with penalties.
- 8:42Speaker 1: And most importantly, they have to prove that they can
- 8:44Speaker 1: handle adversity. I think that's what this upcoming week is about.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Here's the thing.
- 8:49Speaker 1: One loss does not define Florida's season. But how they
- 8:52Speaker 1: respond to that loss Absolutely can. If Florida comes home,
- 8:56Speaker 1: beat South Carolina convincingly, and looks like the team we
- 8:58Speaker 1: saw against Ole Miss, then Missouri becomes a wake-up call,
- 9:02Speaker 1: a painful one, an embarrassing one, maybe even a useful one.
- 9:06Speaker 1: But if the offensive line struggles again, if the defense
- 9:08Speaker 1: gets pushed around again, if the penalties continue, if Florida
- 9:12Speaker 1: looks emotionally flat, then we're going to have to start
- 9:15Speaker 1: looking at Missouri differently. Then it wasn't just a bad day.
- 9:19Speaker 2: It was a warning.
- 9:20Speaker 1: And that is why Saturday against South Carolina suddenly feels
- 9:23Speaker 1: a lot bigger than it did a week ago.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Not because South Carolina is the biggest game on Florida's schedule.
- 9:28Speaker 2: It's not. But because Florida needs to show us who
- 9:31Speaker 2: they really are.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Were they the real Florida Gators in those first four weeks?
- 9:37Speaker 1: Or is the real Florida Gator team the one we
- 9:40Speaker 1: saw against Missouri? And we are about to find out.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I want to know what you guys think down in
- 9:48Speaker 1: the comments. Warning sign, wake up call. Where are you
- 9:52Speaker 1: on this? Do you think the Gators rebound? Was this
- 9:55Speaker 1: a bad week? Was this something, you know, pointing to
- 9:58Speaker 1: what's to come?
- 9:59Speaker 2: For this team?
- 10:01Speaker 1: I want to know down in the comments, let me know.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I also want to give some love over to prize picks.
