A nine-month-old girl, Destiny Lyric Blackburn, died in June 2025 after allegedly overdosing on fentanyl. Her mother and grandmother have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. The baby’s father, Carvin Purvis, has spoken out for the first time since the arrests, describing his daughter as a bright, musical child who deeply loved her mom — despite the tragic circumstances.
