- 0:01We try to control or dominate other people, generally through
- 0:05various methods. It is customary in many cultures
- 0:09to subject children to strict discipline and education so that
- 0:13they do things the way the parents or educators like, or
- 0:18they get subjected to some kind of punishment, whether it be
- 0:21corporal, emotional or vital, or else get rewarded for doing what
- 0:27is expected. This is a form of operant
- 0:30conditioning as described in the Western psychological
- 0:34literature. What this does not accomplish,
- 0:37however, is the true mastery over the impulses, feelings, et
- 0:41cetera, and can lead to either a suppressed mental and vital
- 0:46nature or else outright rejection or rebellion.
- 0:52We try to indoctrinate the young people with certain principles
- 0:55of living what we call moral maxims, such as Thou shalt not
- 1:00kill or thou shalt not covet the possessions of thy neighbor, or
- 1:06thou shalt not commit adultery, or thou shalt not bear false
- 1:11witness. When the young people observe,
- 1:17however, that the people trying to instill these concepts do not
- 1:21actually follow them in their lives, there is a sense of
- 1:26disconnectedness and unreality to them.
- 1:30Additionally, it is easy to say thou shalt not, but we do not
- 1:36educate ourselves or the young people on actually how to
- 1:40achieve mastery over the impulses and vibrations that
- 1:44lead us into the situations that cause us to violate these
- 1:48principles. Only those individuals who have
- 1:52conquered these impulses, or others within themselves can
- 1:57actually provide guidance to others, and that guidance is
- 2:01generally not in the form of a verbal or written instruction,
- 2:06but in the form of creation of a vibratory field that is palpable
- 2:10and which brings the wayward vibrations of others entering
- 2:14that field into harmony. This, however, can be a very
- 2:18temporary phase. We have heard the legends about
- 2:22sages who were able to bring peace and coexistence between
- 2:26the lion and the Lamb, for instance, but that does not
- 2:29solve the issue outside the environs of the sage.
- 2:35We also understand that when a disciple surrenders to a
- 2:38realized teacher or guru, that the guru may, if he so chooses
- 2:44and has himself the mastery, aid the disciple in overcoming the
- 2:49vibratory pattern that is desired to be changed.
- 2:53With the permission of the student, the guru can actually
- 2:56adjust and tune the receptivity of the being so that it does not
- 3:01vibrate to the unwanted vibrations any longer.
- 3:06This of course requires that the guru has himself obtained the
- 3:10necessary mastery. There are of course instances
- 3:15where a seeker has found out how to gain that inner mastery of
- 3:18impulses and feelings. Generally this takes serious
- 3:22effort at self understanding and time to shift the focus, the
- 3:27intention, the vibrational receptivity.
- 3:33Some disciplines attempt to gain control through avoidance of the
- 3:36temptation. Often times when the seeker
- 3:40returns to the societal setting, however, he finds that he has
- 3:44not actually solved the problem, just suppressed it temporarily.
- 3:50Some other disciplines attempt to gain control through
- 3:53confrontation with the temptation.
- 3:56In some cases this leads to self deception and the acceptance of
- 4:01the vibration that is to be changed, leading to enjoyment
- 4:06rather than transformation of that vibration.
- 4:10Another methodology has to be worked out that neither simply
- 4:14suppresses nor accepts the vibration, but rather is able to
- 4:20withstand its force and either adjust the focus or transform
- 4:26the vibration. Once an individual has found the
- 4:30method and conducted this inward transformation, the impact may
- 4:34naturally spread to others or be communicated actively to others.
- 4:40This aligns with our understanding of the 100th
- 4:43monkey phenomenon, as new skills learned by one can spread to
- 4:48others who vibrate within the same range of energetic
- 4:51activity. The mother notes quote.
- 4:56One can't control outer matter if one does not control inner
- 5:00matter, for they are the same thing.
- 5:04Mastery means the knowledge of handling certain vibrations.
- 5:08If you know how to handle these vibrations, you have the
- 5:12mastery. The best field of
- 5:14experimentation is yourself. First, you have the control in
- 5:19yourself, and once you have it in yourself, you can transmit
- 5:24the vibration to others to the extent you are capable of
- 5:28identifying yourself with them and of thus creating this
- 5:32vibration in them. And if you cannot handle a
- 5:35vibration in yourself, you don't even know the procedure, you
- 5:40don't even know what to do. So how can you manipulate it in
- 5:45others? You may encourage them by words,
- 5:49by an influence over them, to do what is needed to learn
- 5:52self-control, but you cannot control them directly.
