- 4:11the other fun stuff things happening. Yeah. Ye, and today we are
- 4:18going to be reviewing another book that Devin has read. Uh huh uh huh
- 4:27and I'm sorry I got to put up the name Bradley texted me again.
- 4:31Funck off Bradley. Uh yeah, drag him anyway. Uh, And we
- 4:38are gonna be reading it's called Once in Future, right, yes, Once
- 4:42in Future. It's another Well, unlike the other two that I've done so
- 4:47far, this one's a graphic novel or comic book. But I love it
- 4:51so much. I'm like, oh, I needs two episodes. It's gonna
- 4:57be two parts because there's a lot. There's five volumes in the Sucker,
- 5:00one hundred and sixty pages each with their fairly easy read. Yeah, so
- 5:05this is One's in Future. It's released by Boom Studios, which they make
- 5:11great comic books. If you want some like not even Marvel in DC.
- 5:15They don't have a shared universe. They concentrate more on just on stories rather
- 5:21than a universe, collective universe. This series ran from October nineteenth twenty sorry
- 5:30August nineteenth, sorry, August twenty nineteen. Oh my god, right ran
- 5:38from August twenty nineteen to October twenty twenty two and has about total about thirty
- 5:44issues. But they collected, they put it together in five different volumes,
- 5:46and today we're gonna be talking about or I'm gonna be talking about volumes one
- 5:50and two. In this episode, I'm also going to go over some stuff
- 5:57connected to Arthenian lore as well as Bale Wolf, because I do not expect
- 6:01y'all to know everything and anything and everything about King Arthur and his court and
- 6:09the story of Beale Wolf. I'm not going to expect you all to know
- 6:12all that. And if I and if it seems like I'm looking to the
- 6:15side, because the way my camera is camera's like right here at my computer
- 6:20screen that I'm looking at is like over here and right in front where my
- 6:24eyes are currently, so I'm bounce in back and forth. So if it
- 6:29looks weird, because I'm not looking at the camera. My camera's placed on
- 6:31the wall. Over here, Jacob over here is has his camera on his
- 6:38laptop facing the way he's looking so that ugly mug of his. So the
- 6:46story is created by Kirian. Oh god, Kirian Gillian Gillan. I'm terrible
- 6:55with names. We know this, I am too. Yeah, it's Kirian
- 7:01Gillan. Kieran Gillan is a British writer comic book writer. He's done stuff
- 7:08for X Men, Marvels, Star Wars, Darth Vader. He's also doing
- 7:15the He's a co creator of the Doctor for a series from Star Wars,
- 7:24and he's done also some like DC work and Ship too. No, Siria,
- 7:28I did not say your name, thank you. Why did my phone
- 7:30poping up like that? Say that because my serial will pop off too.
- 7:36Scares the shit out of me. I'll just be talking or or I'll just
- 7:40say, man, are you serious. She'll just pop up and be like,
- 7:43I'm always serious. Jacob, oh, my mother haunted, like the
- 7:46last week's book, the thing between us, Oh God, they're talking to
- 7:54us to that thing. But yeah, he's a combook writer and the other
- 8:01co creator is Dan Mora who is the artist and his artwork and this is
- 8:07so just and the colorist is Tamera bond Villain pronouncing that right again. I
- 8:20love y'all, so sorry for this pronunciation of your name if I am mispronouncing
- 8:26it. But the name to the to the writer's artist and stuff will also
- 8:30be in the scripture blow, so I have those notes there so y'all can
- 8:33see and where to find it and everything. So we're going into the volume
- 8:39one. Volume one is called The King Is Undead. So we start off
- 8:52with a in Cornwall, Great Britain, where we see a guy bring in
- 9:00a he's the archaeologist, and they discovered an artifact from the fifth century and
- 9:07he has with a long haired blonde woman who he thinks is some professor from
- 9:11some university, and they show that it's a They shows some blades and some
- 9:18some a dagger and like a what we call it a hand axe from the
- 9:24fifth what they believe is from the fifth century, as well as a helt
- 9:26of a sword or the god what's the term. It's not a helt,
- 9:31it's a chef. So when you put the sword in, that's a sheath
- 9:39right right, the scabbard scabbard sheath Siah, it's yeah, that's what it's.
- 9:48It's the thing that you put the sword in the blade in and yeah,
- 9:52theath or scabbard. There you go, that's where I was looking for.
- 9:56They find. He shows a sca that he found that him and his
- 10:01crew found, and she's like oh and he's like, oh, this is
- 10:05a Are you a doctor or some kind? And she's like, yep,
- 10:09yeah, I sure am, and she calls in her men, her lackeys
- 10:15are with her, and they take the set artifact and they unfortunately shoot the
- 10:20guy. Honestly, they were not sitting by no university unfortunately, so they
- 10:26took the artifact. And then we jump over to our nursing home and sumer
- 10:33set and we meet an old woman known as Bridget. She's an old grandma
- 10:41five foot nothing, typical grandma type, sitting there listening to the news and
- 10:46she's rolling tobacco, rolling her own cigarettes. They're in the nursing home,
- 10:52knowing, damn well, she shouldn't, but she does it anyway like a
- 10:56stubborn grandma. And they're watching the local news and she's obviously smoking her little
- 11:03cigarette and one of the nurses comes up, you can't be doing that.
- 11:07And she's like, but I just see it smoke, just one little smoke,
- 11:11and I got like, no, you can't be doing that. So
- 11:15he takes this cigarette and she's just like and she just sits there and watches
- 11:18the whatever news broadcasts are watching. Then we jump over to Bristol and we
- 11:26meet a ginger young man, probably in his They never actually say his age.
- 11:33I'm assuming from the artwork he looks to be like his late twenties early
- 11:37thirties. And he's on a date with a with a woman and he spilt
- 11:43wine all over her on their first day to a nice restaurant, and I'm
- 11:46like, damn, I mean, if you're single, because they draw him
- 11:52so good, so good in this story the Gayness and me, so it's
- 12:01His name is Duncan and he's on a date with a woman named Rhodes.
- 12:07They obviously Rose works with the history department of a local university for academia,
- 12:16and he is do they actually say what he works, but his job is
- 12:26actually never say what he actually does. He's not right here anyway. But
- 12:33yeah, he's on a date and it's not going so hot, and they
- 12:35get a call from his grandma and he picks up the phone and she's like,
- 12:41oh, let me guess you're going to something came up. I just
- 12:45have to go. You're going to escape through the bathroom window. And he's
- 12:48like, it's a stake going that bad for you and I'm still here.
- 12:52Basically, I'm still here. And he's like, no, my grandmother,
- 12:56my grand's calling me, and she's like, oh, is everything okay?
- 13:00So he and he basically talks about how his grandmother is hard as nails,
- 13:05a bad bitch. She doesn't take shit off anybody, and she wants things
- 13:09her way or the highway, so she's very very much a handful for an
- 13:15old elderly woman. And when he picks up the phone, duncan here's his
- 13:24grandmother and she's like, yeah, I'm in the woods smoking a cigarette and
- 13:33she's like, yeah, I run away. And he's like why'd you run
- 13:35away? And she's like it seemed easier than making a fuss about all the
- 13:39bullshit going on. She's like, so I left, and he's like,
- 13:45I have to go get you now. So he has to leave his date
- 13:48because she decided to run away from a nursing home on a little adventure and
- 13:54apparently she does this a lot, so he has to constantly drop whatever he's
- 13:58doing to go hunt for his grandma. There and he ventures off into the
- 14:03woods to find her and she and he does, but as he comes up,
- 14:07she's trying to pull a latch up from the ground, and he's like,
- 14:11what are you doing. She's like, I'm handling something. She said,
- 14:18I need some old things, and he opens up the hatch, adds
- 14:22a bunch of weapons, full armory, guns, all shapes and sizes,
- 14:26knives, daggers, a whole pop in the ground and he's like, what
- 14:31the fuck is this? And she's like, ah, nothing's missing. And
- 14:35of course he hasn't know anything about this. He just he's raised his whole
- 14:39life not knowing his grandmother has weapons and some pit downstairs, down in the
- 14:43ground, somewhere in the middle of the woods. So he is flobber goose.
- 14:48Dude, He's like, what the fuck is this? And he's like,
- 14:52she's setting up for a adventure. She's looking for something in particular.
- 14:58And as they're looking, she looks outside and she's like, oh, dear,
- 15:03as this green mist starts forming around the area, and he's like,
- 15:07what's this lightning. Why did the lightning changes. She's like, well,
- 15:11this isn't good. And he's like, what's going on? And you see
- 15:16a beast, an animal that shows up behind them when they're not looking.
- 15:24Now, this animal has a body of a lion, head of a snake
- 15:28like. Its neck is like a snake coming out of the body of the
- 15:33lion, and the lion. The body of the cat is a combination of
- 15:37a lion and a leopard. And it has like a lizard's tail, and
- 15:39it's pregnant with babies. And this is known as a questing beast. Now,
- 15:48as I said before, I am going to kind of fill everyone in
- 15:50on what some of this stuff is if you're not acquainted with Arthenian lore,
- 15:54So, a questing beast is a cross animal monster that years in various texts
- 16:00of Arthenian war. If you see a questing beast, it usually means,
- 16:03Okay, there's a there's a there's a a quest is coming. It's a
- 16:10sign. It's an omen that, oh, you're about to go on a
- 16:12quest. It's it pops up at the most random times. It pops up
- 16:18at the most inconvenient times, and it's kind of annoying. So they Duncan's
- 16:25freaked the hell out because obviously he's never seen a creature like this, and
- 16:29the ladies and gentlemen we are now joined with Devin's roommate, roommate Sean.
- 16:47Oh, I thought that was Sewan. No, that's not Johnny and Sean
- 16:52anyway, So the Questing Bee starts running, chasing Duncan, and he's like,
- 16:59oh, you're looking to see no one, no one came in the
- 17:04room. Well, no, no one's gonna ever. No one would ever
- 17:07walk into my room without my permission. No I was. I thought I
- 17:11heard Shelly like moving around, but no, she's she made a bed out
- 17:15of all my hoodies that I threw on my my bed. You and your
- 17:18hoodies, m hm. Questing Beasts. So the Questing Beast is chasing Duncan,
- 17:25and his Grandma's like wow did his Grandma's like yeah, keep him busy
- 17:32as she's getting weapons. Uh want her to know it was me. So
- 17:41the Questing Beast is chasing Duncan through the woods and it's tearing up, tearing
- 17:48down trees, rampaging through the woods as Duncan's like running full sprint and she's
- 17:53just throwing grenade. She's throwing a grenade launcher aside a dagger a gun,
- 17:57and she's like found it, and she's yelling to her grandson come back around,
- 18:03and he starts running his way around as the beast catches up to him,
- 18:10and he's just like, you know, I thought the date was the
- 18:14lowest point, not this. I didn't think I was gonna be fighting monsters
- 18:18today. So the monster and him start going like head to head to each
- 18:21other. As he picks up, he picks up a literal tree that fell
- 18:25off the ground. Now, mind you, this boy grew up his whole
- 18:29life as a normal person and he doesn't know that he has these certain powers
- 18:33and shit. So he's literally picking up a whole tree, whole ass tree,
- 18:37using it as a weapon to tackle this beast. And he shoves the
- 18:41big, huge log, it's probably a good five footer five foot piece of
- 18:47log, and shoves it in the questbist's mouth and as he makes a run
- 18:51for it from her, and it of course chumps it off, and as
- 18:55he's running back to his grandmother, his grandmother throws up a I think at
- 18:59the javelin. It has a a long spear with a flag on the internet,
- 19:06so I'm assuming that's a javlin. So she's like here and he lance
- 19:12is a lance, So he throws up. He catches a lance and he
- 19:18puts out like a battle cry as he tries to throw the lance at the
- 19:22Questing Beast who's coming after him, and the Questing Beast stops and runs off,
- 19:30and he starts chasing it, and his grandma's like, don't bother,
- 19:33it's not go. Don't bother. Let it go. I'll come back again.
- 19:36You don't have to kill you know, you don't have to kill this
- 19:38thing right now. I'll come back later. You'll have to kill it later
- 19:42though, But she's like, don't worry about it now, I'll come back.
- 19:48And it does. So the Questing Beast ventures off and it's just those
- 19:52two with their arsenal weapons and shit, and of course don't get tell me
- 19:56a belt down. He's like, what is this? This shit is real,
- 20:00The Questing Beast is real, because all he knows is that these are
- 20:03all stories that he was told as a kid. He didn't know all this
- 20:07shit was legit. And his grandma's like, a, yeah, oh this
- 20:11is real, but he said this was nonsense, and she's like, yeah,
- 20:17it's still nonsense, but I didn't say it wasn't real. So he's
- 20:22losing his ship. His world's been shattered, and he's like, I'm not
- 20:26doing this and he's like she's like, we're going this adventure and he's like,
- 20:30I'm not doing this. You're serious, You're crazy, and he pulls
- 20:34a gun on her. She pulls a gun on him. He's like,
- 20:37no, you are get in your car. We're gonna drive. And she
- 20:42has him at gunpoint as he picks up her lug at her stuff as she's
- 20:48taking with her, and he's like, you're not gonna shoot me, and
- 20:51she's like, oh okay. She shoots him. She shoots them in the
- 20:53ear so his ear low blows off, and he's like, this is his
- 20:59grandmother. Yes, Jesus, sounds like my grandmother. Bridgie is a battye.
- 21:03So this is an old, bitter British woman. And she yeah,
- 21:11shoots off his ear low, but he's like, you shot me. She's
- 21:14like I was trying to mince. Oh well, and they go back to
- 21:21his car put the stuff in the trunk, and then they go on a
- 21:25journey to basically hunt for Excalibur, and then he's like Excalibur. What and
- 21:38he's like, yeah, Excaliburate, it's real. So he gets a nice,
- 21:45nice little awakening with that. He's like, Excalibur, you're telling me
- 21:51Excalber is real. He's like, she's like repeating yourself. Is it gonna
- 21:53make it any better? All right, solve anything, So take a deep
- 21:56breath. It's fine. Escalabur is real. Cool, move on. And
- 22:02he talks about how, oh, it's Arthur's sword and she's like, no,
- 22:06no, it's not Arthur's sword. It was lended to him by It
- 22:11was loaned to Arthur, which in the original story, if you know,
- 22:15Excalibur is technically the owner of Excalber is the lady of the lake, So
- 22:22technically speaking, the Excalbur is not Arthur King Arthur's sword, it was just
- 22:26loan to him for the story purposes. And she talks about how somebody is
- 22:33trying to kickstart a prophecy, and that's what happened in the beginning with the
- 22:41shef is that this group or this person's trying to kickstart prophecy, bring Arthur
- 22:48back from the dead, all that fun shit, and then we to reunite
- 22:53the Brits. The Britons United, Kingdom England, not King Arthur. If
- 23:02you all don't know, I mean, I'm just saying most people know who
- 23:04King Arthur is or the story of him, that he was a king and
- 23:10Arthenian low and he raged war against the Anglo Saxons and all that fun shit.
- 23:18They may be asking, wait, huh. I just want to add,
- 23:21like, the unfortunate thing about the story with King Arthur is that well
- 23:25a lot of it is embellished. We're not really sure if he if this
- 23:29is just like a the historians are not really sure if he was real or
- 23:33if this was just a myth that yeah, that was created during the Dark
- 23:37Ages. Because the thing is is that his story originates during a time period
- 23:41when there was no written records being kept. Yeah, so this was like
- 23:48after the fall of the Roman Empire, because the fall of the Roman Empire
- 23:52is what kickstarted the Dark Ages, and so like any kind of authority that
- 23:56was responsible for chronicling history, they just stopped. Yeah, they ceased to
- 24:03exist. So whether or not Arthur Pendragon was a real figure in Britannia at
- 24:11the time was it's still up in the air. There's hints and evidence to
- 24:17his existence like artwork and of course the verbal retelling of his story. But
- 24:23whether or not he is real is still up in the air. I mean,
- 24:27I'm pretty sure he was real, but of course a lot of the
- 24:30like his travels and things that he faced were probably embellished a lot. Yeah,
- 24:40But sadly there's no like, as Jacob said, there's no concrete evidence
- 24:45that he literally existed. And so there's the whole gray area of like is
- 24:51this considered mythology or is this considered literature? So it's that weird little gray
- 24:56area of with the Arthenian Law and stories, King Arthur again was raging war
- 25:03against the Anglo Saxons. And you may be asking, wait, aren't the
- 25:10Anglo Saxons the British? Yes, yes, yes, yes, you are
- 25:15correct, dear viewer. The Celts is what King Arthur was fighting with,
- 25:26the Celts versus the Anglo Saxons. It gets weird, Okay, it gets
- 25:30weird. The whole Arthenian Law, when you really look at it, is
- 25:33very convoluted because there's different different tellings of the story and shit. So in
- 25:37this comic illustrates that because some of the stuff that you think you know is
- 25:41actually wrong. And how like in this world, Oh, it's something different,
- 25:48and even as I soon we'll find out. Even Arthur when he comes
- 25:52back from the dead, he's very confused and shit, which again kind of
- 25:55illustrates on how Arthenian lower what we have is very calm alluded. So like
- 26:04the sword and Stone, some people think sword of sownes Excalibur, and some
- 26:10people think it's not, that's two different swords. That the that the sword
- 26:15and the stones is something different compared to Excaliburs because galver is technically with the
- 26:18Lady the Lake. But why is it in the stone if it's not Excalibur,
- 26:22And what's the sword of that? It's weird, It's there's no straight
- 26:26answer. It's a lot of just make your own piece together, your own
- 26:32way and ship. Yeah, depending on like what lore you follow or you
- 26:40know, what sources you prefer. There's there are legends of like these legendary
- 26:45swords, and two of them. Some people believe two of these legendary swords
- 26:51appear in ar Theorian legends, so of course Excalbur is one of them.
- 26:55And while a lot of people believe Excalibur was the Sword and Stone, other
- 27:00people believe it was actually another sword called Clarence or yeah, Clarence, is
- 27:07that the Black Knight. No, the sword's name is called no, not
- 27:12the Black Knight. The sword in the stone's name was actually like Clarence,
- 27:18Like that's his name or Clarence, I only I don't know how to pronounce
- 27:23the name, but that's a name of one of the swords. And EXCaliber,
- 27:29like he eventually gets Excalibur from the late the Lady of the Lake,
- 27:32because I think Clarence was actually supposed to be his father's sword that was driven
- 27:36into the stone, and then later on he he needed a more powerful legend
- 27:42more like magical sword, and that's where EXCaliber comes from. Like there's a
- 27:48bunch of different like all across Europe, there's legends about these these legendary swords,
- 27:52like you know, of course Excalibur. There's one sword called I think
- 27:56it's called Durande, Yeah, Derondel. Uh, there's Qurtana, there's Uh,
- 28:06I'm pretty sure this is a it's a French. There's a French sword
- 28:10or I don't know how to pronounce it. It starts with the jay like
- 28:12joy use or joy. Uh. There's a lot of swords. There's a
- 28:18lot of different swords, and as far as I know, two of them
- 28:21it's Clarence and uh Excalibur appear in Arthurian legends. But then again, like
- 28:30we said, it's so convoluted. You can find so many different sources and
- 28:34they'll either contradict each other or support each other. And I like how this
- 28:38comic illustrates that because even Arthur can't get shipped straight either, so because he's
- 28:45all jumbled up and ship. So we jump back to Grandmama. She's explaining
- 28:49everything about the how Arthur wants to reunite Britain and they and he. She
- 28:57talks about how some how theres a group that wants to bring them back,
- 29:02bring him back, and he only comes back at a time at Britain's darkest
- 29:07time, but they don't say what's funny about that is kind of correct and
- 29:12when they say King Arthur will come back when Britain needs him most, at
- 29:17the darkest time, but they never tell you if he's the reason for the
- 29:21darkest time. So the fact that you start seeing like with this story and
- 29:25how King Arthur is perceived as evil and there's other other stories that do the
- 29:30same thing with that, because they never strictly tell you what causes the dark
- 29:34time that he would need to come back. Is him coming back the reason
- 29:40why the dark times for Britain come. So that's what it kind of plays
- 29:45into with this, is that, sure, yeah, he'll come back when
- 29:48Britain needs him most. They see the problem. The answer in the story
- 29:52is yes, yes, he is definitely the fucking problem. Skeletory looking motherfucker.
- 29:59So while the grandmother's explaining all this, we jumped back. We jumped
- 30:03back to the woman in the beginning where she got that artifact and she finds
- 30:08the tomb of King Arthur. And as the grandmother says, and I quote,
- 30:19well he could return because it's Britain's darkest time, darkest hour. Sure
- 30:25or his return could cause it again, they don't really tell you. I
- 30:30love that. I was like, oh, that's so cool. So then
- 30:33we jumped to the next chapter where she's I mean basically going on, I
- 30:42rant on how all this is rerail and her grandson Duncan is just like losing
- 30:48his goddamn mind. He's like, all this is fucking to like, what
- 30:49the fuck what am I supposed to do with this information? He's had a
- 30:52hard time digest it, digesting this information, and he's kind of just losing
- 31:00his mind because he's not in control of the situation. And he's like,
- 31:03I don't know what the fuck to do with all this, and she's like
- 31:04it's gonna be fine, and he's worried about the Questing Beast and his grandmother's
- 31:10like, the Questing Beast is pretty simple, Duncan. You're on you're on
- 31:14a quests. It's fine, it's fine. You have a job to do
- 31:17now, and he's like, what the fuck is that supposed to mean?
- 31:19And they get to their location and they walk to this castle out in the
- 31:22middle of the open fields and hills of England, and they open up the
- 31:29door to this little tower and that green, dreamlike smoke surrounds place again,
- 31:37which means something else is coming. And we see when he opens up the
- 31:42door there's a staircase at least downward, and you see a bunch of four
- 31:45women around the spiral staircase. And then Duncan's like, who are who are
- 31:51these people? And she's his Grandma's like, don't be rude. These are
- 31:55the lady, these are the ladies of the lake. Mind that they're not
- 31:59gonna do it. They might. They're in minding their own business. And
- 32:01she's that we're not looking for them, we're looking for wolves, and goes
- 32:07down the spiral staircase and at the very bottom we jump back to the woman,
- 32:13the blonde woman, Elaine is her name, and she is at the
- 32:20grave of King Arthur. The two and they open up the open up the
- 32:27grave and you see the skeleton of what presumably King Arthur Warner's crown. And
- 32:32she it's like at last, and she takes the sheath and she puts up
- 32:37to the corpse. She's like the ones and future king and they're getting Grandma's
- 32:44getting getting gun and looaded as she's walking down the spiral staircase and she sees
- 32:47this the weird smoke as the skeleton comes to life all in it's green smoke
- 32:54and goo as a skeleton starts getting up and ignow, that's King Arthur.
- 33:01Like it's trying to speak. Of course, King Arthur's from a time period
- 33:06that English is not spoken like it is today, because you're dealing with old
- 33:09English. So he's the way they way she puts it is that that give
- 33:15him a minute. He's he's getting his bearings in his mind. I guess
- 33:20with magic, his mind's reworking to where when he speaks it's like the English
- 33:24we have today, because technically speaking, the English we have today and old
- 33:29English from that from the time period that he comes from, is too raised
- 33:32two different languages. It's more close to the German than it is English.
- 33:37If you didn't know, ladies and gentlemen and listeners, since English is a
- 33:44Germanic language, Yeah, it's closely related to Like there was a lot of
- 33:51northern languages like German, and I think, I don't want to say like
- 33:55Norwegian, but there's like a dialect like Swedish, Yeah, Swedish, Sweden,
- 34:02Norway, Germany, England. I think Gaelic is also thrown in that.
- 34:09But there's all like the most of the like you're the northern European countries
- 34:14outside of like outside of course, like France and Italy, and then those
- 34:16are the Romantic languages. But liked all the the Vikings and the Anglo Saxons,
- 34:22the Celts, all that most of their languages all come from the Germanic
- 34:24language, the base language that that family. So if you didn't know,
- 34:32unlike American English, which is a combination of many different languages. Awesome you
- 34:37really think about it. Yeah, American English, Yeah, American English takes
- 34:42a lot from of course, not just from Old British but like Old British
- 34:47English. But yeah, and also like local dialects that was that you can
- 34:53find here in the United States, like Native American language, Like if you
- 34:58if you're from if you're listening from the UK, and you ever visit areas
- 35:04that have like large Native American communities, you'll notice a lot of native Native
- 35:12American terms or like cities or towns that are or even like for common phrases
- 35:20that we use, and there you could trace our origin to, like the
- 35:22Native American dialects, like like especially you drive through it ten like the interstate
- 35:30going through like the northern half of the northern part of Florida. They'll pass
- 35:35through like Tallahassee. Ah, god, there was one called not tal it
- 35:42was. Oh, there were some crazy ones, but yeah, those languages,
- 35:47and then also French and Spanish. Yeah, and then oh of course,
- 35:52like of course we have like a lot of there's a lot of different
- 35:54settlers from Europe and all over the world. So sometimes like depending on what
- 36:00or the United States you're in, there'll be a lot of like, uh,
- 36:04different words that we use that German, Spanish, depending on you're in
- 36:08the south. Yeah, German, French, Spanish. It's a lot of
- 36:15we use a lot of turns different languages over here. So it's English at
- 36:20its core, but there's a lot of other stuff that are kind of thrown
- 36:22in depending on what part of the country you're in, like here in here
- 36:27in San Antonio, which is where uh, Devin and I are based in
- 36:31we uh, there's a lot of like a mixture of Spanish and German.
- 36:37Yeah, so you'll if you ever take a visit here, I highly recommend
- 36:43uh you'll see a lot of that, like text Mexical. We have a
- 36:46hot, really large text mex culture here. Yes, most definitely text mex
- 36:53food. So anyway I can talk about food. So king are there,
- 37:00skelet wo are looking ass? He comes up alive and his flesh, his
- 37:06organs start coming back as his muscle start formers, like he's the ding there.
- 37:09You can see his rib cage, but you can also see his organs
- 37:12start reforming, so you see his intestine, his stomach all showing from like
- 37:17the rib cage, and shit, it looks fucking lit teeth starts like forming
- 37:22as his jaw starts like reforming with a flesh with green crackling magic. As
- 37:28he pulls out a sword and he goes up to one of the men as
- 37:32Duncan and his grandma are watching this, and they're like, and Duncan's like,
- 37:37the sword is like, what are you to pull out the sword in
- 37:38a stone? He's like a sword in some story is a buried sword.
- 37:43And she's like, it's convoluted, don't worry about it. So the three
- 37:50the men that are with Elaine about before. I think that's the thing.
- 37:54That's how you pronounce Elaine Elaine. He l A I N E. Yeah,
- 38:02yeah, okay, cool's right. And that's a reference to arth anymore
- 38:07as well for those and you don't know, but that'll be explained later.
- 38:12Arthur gets his sword, takes up one of the hands of one of the
- 38:15men and cuts their hands and drinks their blood and he looks at them and
- 38:22the guy's like, what the fuck And the guy's drinking. Arthur's like and
- 38:27he lets out of hiss and looks at the man and he's like Anglo Saxon.
- 38:32He doesn't like Anglo Saxons. So he kills the guy. He literally
- 38:37takes him by the head, lifts him up and chops him in half blood,
- 38:42guts everywhere. It's great, it's great and getting blood blood and then
- 38:47yeah, and but Arthur is like standing all heroic and king like, and
- 38:52he's just like and everyone's like freaking out screaming the ones who are technically she
- 39:00brought a bunch of Anglo sax Anglo Saxon descendants. There a bunch of British
- 39:06descendants. And I don't know why she did that, because if she would
- 39:08have known, she probably would have, but brought, like I don't know,
- 39:13some Irish or some Welsh descendants, not necessarily British, because Arthur hates
- 39:21Britain, the the the Britons. Yeah, for whatever reason, even though
- 39:27he's the King of Britain. Again, don't think too hard about it.
- 39:30It's a lot. He's Celtic. I've been fine. I would have been
- 39:35fine. Jacob would not. Yeah, I'm all. I am both British
- 39:43like well, my family can trace their roots back to Britain, Spain,
- 39:47Anglo Saxon and span and Spaniard. Yeah, he wouldn't gone. You've been
- 39:52gone done so, I've been fine, so yeah, he's all killing everybody
- 39:59and a Lane is like there, like, well shit, and she lifts
- 40:01up her hand to drink the as he checks her blood and he's like he
- 40:07drinks it, and he's like, you come to pay homage to the true
- 40:10King of Britain. Celt Obviously she's Celtic descent, and she knew that.
- 40:17She's like, I'm fine, and obviously because her hair is blonde, but
- 40:23she's also kind of I don't know how to describe it blonde, but she's
- 40:29also kind of Ginger's like a strawberry blonde thing going on with the color choice.
- 40:31It has like a very light orange that you can kind of see is
- 40:36blonde, but there's some bread there. So obviously Celtic is she. And
- 40:39of course King Arthur stops. He's like, where are my knights And she's
- 40:47like, yeah, they're dead and she's it's just her and he's like,
- 40:52well, I can't, must start from somewhere, so he's like, raised
- 40:55my knights and she makes the He makes the corpse that he the people he
- 41:00killed, and the men he turns them into his knights. So he uses
- 41:07the dead corpses, attaches armor to them and remakes his circle as this woman
- 41:15is obviously she goes by a lame and they're caught, the Grandma and Duncan.
- 41:21Grann and Duncan are caught and they're like, oh shit, and they
- 41:24make a run for it, as Arthur well, actually they try sneak out.
- 41:30Duncan trips and catches the attention of the Knights of the New Knights as
- 41:35they start going after them, and then they go on a wild goose chase
- 41:39as Granny and Duncan unleash bullets and lead upon the Knights and Arthur. Now,
- 41:47Jacob, do you think bullets would work on an undead king? You
- 41:54know, in popular media, both books, graphic novels and movie bullets don't
- 42:01work for shit, according to like the logic from these kind of from these
- 42:07kinds of media, because especially when it comes to magic or some other supernatural
- 42:13being or aliens or what have you, if it is supernatural in nature,
- 42:17bullets don't work. And you are correct in that assumption. Mm hmmm.
- 42:24The bullets fly right throughom and he's just like h okay, and they start
- 42:30running for it as the nice contu chase him, and Graham pulls out from
- 42:35her shirt a grenade a bomb and she's like, eh, eat this and
- 42:40explodes everything. Yeah, And they make their way out of said castle that
- 42:45they were once in, and they kind of so the smoke, the colorful
- 42:53smoke that changes as they continue on, or when they get into an area
- 42:58where the monster appears, Ring King Earth that comes back, that green rainbow
- 43:02kind of discolored smoke or fog that comes in is means they're technically setting foot
- 43:08in other world. And you may be asking, oh my god, what
- 43:13is other world? Other world, depending on the lore, could mean a
- 43:15couple of different things. If you're talking about other worlds, and as far
- 43:22as the ark and in war Avalon is considered other world. If you're talking
- 43:29about the Celtic mythology, other world is something else. Same with the Welsh.
- 43:36It just means they come from a world that's not the world of fairies
- 43:39and magic. Basically, So when that little smoke comes in rolls in,
- 43:45that's when you know something it's going to happen, as far as something from
- 43:52the other world that's going to show up and pay an unwanted visit to you
- 44:00if you're there. Cut that part out, Devin, So we jump back
- 44:08to after the bomb goes off and they make their escape. King Arthur and
- 44:13his Knights with Elaine side, they decided to take a trip over to other
- 44:19world from the roal world. So she Elaine talks about how she she talks
- 44:30about a knight that she has a someone that that would be very beneficial to
- 44:37Arthur, and she's like, oh. Arthur's like, oh, well,
- 44:38take us to your boy, show us your boy, and they go through
- 44:43a portal and they go figure all that shit out, and that's where we
- 44:46lead back to Granny and Duncan as Grandma is smoking a cigarette again like you
- 44:52do because she's a baddie, and she's like, I we need more informations
- 44:59than they trying to discuss a plan to find how to get more information on
- 45:02all of this that's happening, because they want to be in the know,
- 45:07figure out, try to guess what they're gonna do next. Where Arthur's gonna
- 45:09go. King Arthur's gonna go with this woman. And Graham talks to Duncan
- 45:15says, hey, doesn't your doesn't the woman you went on a date with.
- 45:20Don't she gonna work out a university for history or some shit? AND's
- 45:23like, yeah, she does. So he's like, okay, cool,
- 45:27let's pay her a visit. So they go up to your house. Knock,
- 45:30knock, knock. She opens the door, she's like, hey,
- 45:35Rose, I'm so sorry, points a gun at her. They're coming with
- 45:37us, and Duncan's like, are you fucking mad? And she's like,
- 45:42what it worked with you? I mean I gotta get her to come with
- 45:45us somehow, right. She doesn't think things through. She's old. So
- 45:52Rose goes with them, of course, because a gunpoint. And they go
- 45:59to the the archives of the university she works at, and they're trying to
- 46:05look for some they're looking for a doctor's there's a certain box that a doctor
- 46:12or professor left there, and then she's looking for that and I guess the
- 46:15doctor or the professor your left died. Doesn't matter. I'm not gonna look.
- 46:21I'm not gonna go looking and try to find it. Doesn't matter.
- 46:22He's not there anymore. So she's like, yeah, we should have had
- 46:24the archives of that somewhere. So she finds a box that has a lock
- 46:28on it. She knows the combination. She opens it and she finds a
- 46:31letter as set of keys and one that says I'm sorry it signed Charles West,
- 46:40and this man has a connection to Grant, of course, and it
- 46:47talks about how like, if you're reading this now, it's it's worst case
- 46:52scenario. It's code red, code red. Shit's hitting the fan. The
- 47:02fan we wiu. If you're reading this and I'm not around, we woo
- 47:07black code black co black, So must be that. Oh yeah, and
- 47:15she needs In the fourth Grand's like, well, ship, now we gotta
- 47:17go find Arthur interrupt him and his knights as they try to find, oh
- 47:25god, Galahad when they try to find Galahad, who's supposedly the perfect Night.
- 47:32Now Galahad. Little history on that, because they kind of do go
- 47:38over that in the story, but I might as well just do it now.
- 47:42It's Galahad. Galahad is a Knight of the Round Table. He's one
- 47:46of the three archivers of the Holy Grail and the Arthenian War. He is
- 47:52the bastard child of Lancelot and Elaine, Elaine of Astrolot and lance. I
- 48:06say it because obviously Lancelot was married to somebody else, but he had a
- 48:12thing with this Elaine and had a bastard child, and that's who Galahad is
- 48:22now. Yeah, he's the legitimate illegitimate child of Lancelot, and he is
- 48:30renowned for his purity as the most perfect of all knights. And he comes
- 48:38up and the Arthenian law quite late in the total lore, so it comes
- 48:44in towards the end of it. So's he's probably one of the youngest knights,
- 48:49if not the youngest of the knights. So that's basically what he's what
- 48:53she's worried about. She's like, we got to stop him from finding his
- 48:58galahad because then that's that's that's that's the start of the end. So they
- 49:04go to this church. As they walk in, of course, Grant's like,
- 49:07okay, cool, Rose, light a candle, and she's like,
- 49:09okay, cool, lights a candle. Walks in this church, she's a
- 49:12bunch of spirits and ghosts floating around, and of course Rose is like,
- 49:17oh this is fucking real. What the look on her face is just like
- 49:23behooved. I don't know about you. I'd be like, oh my god,
- 49:28this ship is so cool. My god, I'd be living. But
- 49:32that's me personally. I'm coming that job. So mm hm. You're always
- 49:37down for the tea. I'm always down for the tea, yeah, King
- 49:40Arthur tea yea, so tea destruction if of course, of course, I
- 49:52mean, come on, that's why I implement this ship into my D and
- 49:54D game with Void Onnica, which if it's not up by now, it
- 49:58will be fairly soon. It's a lot of work doing that, by the
- 50:02way. Yeah, you know, cut this part out. But if if
- 50:07it wasn't so, if everything wasn't so volatile, I would invite you to
- 50:09my grandmother's funeral because I'm pretty sure this I'm pretty sure there would be like
- 50:15something like something's gonna happen. I don't know, I just have a feeling
- 50:19that something like ship's gonna hit the fan. Say, I'd be in the
- 50:22bag just going after I after I quenched the burns, bursting in the flans
- 50:30and walking into a church. What's happening. It's not just any kind of
- 50:36church. It's a Catholic church too. Oh yeah, instantly just burst into
- 50:38flames after I fout the fire. Oh no, I sit, I sit
- 50:45in the back. Incognitive it's like m so, bros. Grand tells Rose,
- 50:54keep the candlelight, stay outside the door, detur from everyone coming in
- 50:59here, and whatever you do keep make sure the candle stays lit. The
- 51:02candle doesn't stay lit, and goes out. We're fucked for trapped there.
- 51:07That's our gateway back is the candle. So she has like an old fashioned
- 51:10candle and she's keeping it. Let as they go deeper into this chapel,
- 51:15as they come up to a door, when they open it and you see
- 51:21a sword in the stone in this other world, and Duncan's like Excalibur.
- 51:29She's like, oh, Duncan, and some stories yes, and most no,
- 51:32excal belongs to the Lady of the lake. Remember this is maybe Clarant,
- 51:39as Jacob was saying, She's like, because she's like, I'm not
- 51:43even sure it could be clarant. It's possibly too late fourteenth fifteenth century.
- 51:47This Arthur seems mainly early Welsh maybe, like I said, as this story
- 51:57is illustrating shit's weird and humble lot. And she's like, let's sick with
- 52:01the sword in the stone. Just the sword in the stone, right,
- 52:05it's not Scalpur most likely. She's like, it's not. Just call the
- 52:08sword in the stone. Don't confuse you or me. And Arthur pulls out
- 52:15the sword in the stone and he gets his badass cloak and armor, and
- 52:19you know what, I'll just show the camera because it's it's kind of cool
- 52:22and how it is. That's the armor he gets, like the cloak and
- 52:27the ship. When he pulls out the sword in the stone and I'm like,
- 52:30this shits lit. And he's like, speak to me, Britain.
- 52:35It hungers for the throat of the Saxon men. And I'm like, he's
- 52:38bloodthirsty. And then the woman Elaine walks up and she's like, my king,
- 52:45my son Galahad, and it's a blonde pressy boy. Again, I
- 52:52will show oh shit, I will show a picture. Blonde pressy boy.
- 52:59Think he's top shit. I'm the most beautiful creature imaginable. I am the
- 53:05perfect night before me Galahad. And and Grand's out here like, oh Elaine,
- 53:13how much did that cost you? And this is her child, by
- 53:17the way, And she's also thinking, says, okay, Galahad is the
- 53:23son of Lancelot. He's the greatest knight, chosen chosen one's silliness. And
- 53:30she's like, who's the father because obviously these people, Lancelot and the original
- 53:37Elaine are now around in today's times, so someone had somebody had to fill
- 53:44the slot of Lancelot. But she's like who And I'm getting can't kind of
- 53:50ahead myself, but she's she's kind of like, who'd she get to be
- 53:53the Lancelot? Obviously if she got Lancelot, she had to bear said child
- 54:01with a merry man who's on the same level as Lancelot in whatever terms that
- 54:07seem femable. But Galahad goes up to Arthur and he's like, I was
- 54:15bred for the purpose, for this purpose, my king, let us start
- 54:19this age of adventure. And Duncan and gran are spying watching all this,
- 54:25and he's like, Okay, what's this, what's the whole purpose of this?
- 54:30And he's like, Galahad finds the Grail, the Grail heals the land.
- 54:37And she's like, if they find the Holy Grail, none of us
- 54:40will survive that purge, because the Grail will purge the land, heal it,
- 54:47and bring it back to what it once was, killing everybody in the
- 54:50process. And I'm like, wow, that doesn't seem that much like a
- 54:53holy Grail. So and Duncan's like, how apposed to stop this? And
- 55:04of course she's like, of course, mere saying that his grandma is putting
- 55:07a sniper rifle over his shoulder and she's like, don't move, and she's
- 55:12aiming for a headshot for Galahad and she goes in, or she tries to
- 55:20go in for the shot. We jump back up to the beginning to the
- 55:24front of the building as you see Rose and two security guards coming up to
- 55:30him like, so what are you doing and she's like, oh, you
- 55:32know this and that I'm part of the history exhimt shit, you know,
- 55:37don't worry about it. She sends him a wife. She talks, and
- 55:40she talks and the like this is she's there for a purpose, don't worry
- 55:44about it. And they walk away, and we jump back to King Arthur
- 55:46as he knights Galahad and Gran's still trying to line up her shot to shoot
- 55:53him in the brain, because if you get rid of the Galahad, it
- 55:58won't stop them completely, but it'll put it'll cause them to it'll set them
- 56:04back a bit on their obviously on King Arthur's plan. So but his mother
- 56:09gets in the way and she's like, God, wish she just fucking moved.
- 56:14And they're trying to align the shot as he's getting knighted by King Arthur
- 56:17and Duncan just busts open the door like he owns the place, and of
- 56:24course King Arthur's like, just draw them, and all the Knights go after
- 56:30them as they start running their way out of the building, and eventually they
- 56:34do get out and they see the police there and then point the guns at
- 56:36them. They're like hairds up and they put their hands up, and as
- 56:43they run out the door, the green smoke starts coming in. So you
- 56:45see when the Knights come out of the door front door and the cop turns
- 56:52around gets his head chopped off, gone, and another one gets stabbed into
- 56:59the chest out there's blood and guts everywhere, and Rose blows out the candle
- 57:04and it kind of just ends it and they're just two dead bodies on the
- 57:07floor. They should just walked away like the Rose older, but they didn't
- 57:12listen. So they're driving away, of course, and they're like, okay,
- 57:16what's our next move now? And it's like, am I like your
- 57:20secretary now? She's like, no, you're more useful than that. You
- 57:23have access to ship we need. It's fine. So they're trying to figure
- 57:28out the next course of plan and they as they get to this house and
- 57:34they're like, Okay, there's someone here that we need and she's and they're
- 57:37like, who is it? We need to find the Fisher King and they're
- 57:40like the Fisher King. What the fuck is the Fisher King had to do
- 57:43with any of this? And they're like, Grant's like, well, the
- 57:45Fisher King. If you all didn't know the Fisher King, it is the
- 57:50person that guards the entrance to the castle that holds the holy grail. If
- 57:59you kill the Fisher King or if you're worthy enough, the Fisher King will
- 58:04take will show you the entrance to stay castle to get set holy ground.
- 58:09So that is the next obstacle that the girl I had to deal with is
- 58:13fine, the Fisher King. And this Fisher King is Grand's husband or ex
- 58:17husband, tea, you start figuring out, oh shit, duncan your grandfather
- 58:22is the Fisher King? What that's suspicious? That's weird? Right side eye,
- 58:30bombastic side eye. I'm an all offensive. Yeah, So of course
- 58:37the Fisher King Grandpa knows what's going on, and he has a gun out
- 58:40and he's like, I'm not stupid, We're not doing this, and he
- 58:45shoots grand shoots the her ex husband through the wall. Obviously he's high on
- 58:52the wall. She's like a dump and he's like, these walls are thin.
- 58:58I could just kill you. It's fine. And then of course Gollahan
- 59:02and one of the other nights because it's busting through the front door as they
- 59:08find their way to the Fisher King, and the Fisher King lets them in,
- 59:15lets him into the into the entrance to find the holy Grail, and
- 59:20of course he dies. So Galahad is in that castle now and they're like,
- 59:25oh shit, we need to figure out something. And Grant's trying to
- 59:29think of a plan. And Grant looks Dunk and like, cool, do
- 59:31you see me as a as a mother figure? Right? Because Grant his
- 59:37grandmother raised him from a very young child because his mother and father, ben
- 59:42Inham died, doesn't matter, she raised him. She's like, cool,
- 59:45you see me as a mother figure? Right? And he's like, of
- 59:46course I do. Do you see me as a father figure? I need
- 59:50you to say that. Do you see me as a father figure? And
- 59:54he's like, yes, I see you with you you were both and then
- 1:00:00she shoots herself. She became a surrogate fisher king because the previous Fisher king
- 1:00:07when they tried talking to him to let him in. He shot himself.
- 1:00:13He blew his brains out because he because his ex wife. He didn't want
- 1:00:15to deal with his ex wife. So Breggia was like, cool, I
- 1:00:17gotta figure this shit out. So she made herself into a surrogate fisher king
- 1:00:22as a placeholder who open said gates doorway. So she opens the doorway by
- 1:00:30doing that, and Duncan goes in to take care of Galahad. Galahad sorry,
- 1:00:45goal ahead. So when they get when he gets the Galahad, he
- 1:00:51sees him presented by a bunch of ghosts and there's a woman in the back,
- 1:00:55a ghostly woman holding the Holy Grail, and the Holy Grail is like
- 1:01:00a big old bull with this blood kind of pouring out, and she's like
- 1:01:09and he's like cool, now, possession, carry on, let me get
- 1:01:13at close to them. So Galahad kind of walmze on up there as Duncan
- 1:01:17tries to follow him in with a gun as he gets cornered by the knight
- 1:01:23and he gets real close to the lady the Holy Grail is also looking for
- 1:01:30the Holy Grail because he's like, cool, granted shot herself if I get
- 1:01:36the Holy Grail. The Holy Grail can heal her and she'll live and not
- 1:01:39because he's like, you're not dying because she shot herself to let him in.
- 1:01:45He's like, fuck this, I'm getting the Holy Grail and you're not
- 1:01:46gonna die on fucking me because you got a lot of fucking explaining to do,
- 1:01:50bitch. So he goes through all of this to get said Holy Grail,
- 1:01:57and he the lady holding the Holy girls asked, asked one of the
- 1:02:04knights with whom do you stand? And the knight said, I march with
- 1:02:10Galahad the and of course the woman, well she kills the knight because that's
- 1:02:20not what you're supposed to say. And he's like, no, of course,
- 1:02:23Galahads like, don't say that. You're not supposed You're not supposed to
- 1:02:27say that. So Galahad was supposed to be accompanied by Perceval and on the
- 1:02:39quest. Well, sorry, Perceval was supposed to be on the quest for
- 1:02:45the Grail quest, not Galahad. Galahad was was with Boris Borros and Perceval.
- 1:02:55Those are two different nights. So it was supposed to be a company
- 1:02:58of them going to do that. Since Gallo, since it's just Galahad.
- 1:03:02It was supposed to be personal. You all following again, it's convolateed you
- 1:03:09on the page pack up. Mm hmmm, you want the same way thing.
- 1:03:15You kind of zoned out. No, I'm no, I'm not saying
- 1:03:17what well I say last, I hate it here. That's right, that's
- 1:03:27what I thought. That's what I thought. So you can't zone out anymore.
- 1:03:32I got you on video, bitch, so don't leave that in here.
- 1:03:39We don't you look zoned out anyway? I was like, if you
- 1:03:45see me listening. So we got Duncan with the Galahad who's trying to get
- 1:03:52the Holy Grail, but you also need personal and Bora and Boros who's another
- 1:03:59name there, And Duncan's like, I want to shoot you, and Galahad's
- 1:04:03like, isn't that that's not very nightly. He's like, oh no,
- 1:04:08you're right. He puts on the gun, like let's fight this the cuffs.
- 1:04:13That's very nightly, right, And Galahad puts out the sword. He
- 1:04:15puts to his throat, Duncan's throat, and he is like a perfect knight.
- 1:04:19Now, isn't a perfect night? Then? What does the knight do?
- 1:04:25And he's not perfect. It's a whole fucking bullshit conversation as they duke
- 1:04:31it out because Duncan socks him in the face and he falls to the ground
- 1:04:38like a little pussy, and he then goes over to the Grail and takes
- 1:04:44the Holy Grail and he's just like, it's mine. He runs out with
- 1:04:47it as this liquid is pouring everywhere, and he runs out of said door
- 1:04:53and he realizes when he walks out, the Holy Girl vanishes into a green
- 1:04:57smoke. Grant's like, that's exactly what you're supposed to do, and he's
- 1:05:01like, what, what the fuck do you need? How am I supposed
- 1:05:04to HELLI? And she's like, no, you need to take You need
- 1:05:08to take the Holy Girl out of other world because when it vanishes, it
- 1:05:12takes time for it to go back, so it delays them. So she
- 1:05:15tricked them, Grand tricked Duncan going in there. She just shrupted King Arthur
- 1:05:20and is trying to get the Holy Grail and ship and while then, yeah,
- 1:05:28it won't pop up for a while, and Duncan's like, nah,
- 1:05:31you're not dying, and she's like He's like, well, can you drive
- 1:05:33drive us back to the previous building or at the bath or with the cold,
- 1:05:38and he walks into the bath in a big old room, a gold
- 1:05:43fashioned bathhouse, and you see a big pool of water there, and he
- 1:05:49puts Grant's side and walks over to the edge of the water, and she's
- 1:05:53like, what are you doing and he's like, I'm personal. Duncan's like,
- 1:05:56I'm Percival, right, I'm a knight on a quest. I need
- 1:06:00to retrieve a sword of healing for my beach, right, So he's like,
- 1:06:08I'm playing into that. So he walks over to the leg and he
- 1:06:11says that, and the lady of the lake or ladies of the lake come
- 1:06:15up and they handed him EXCaliber. So we currently had Excalibur in his hand
- 1:06:20now as he's skeletor looking Lady the lake hands come up and the holding the
- 1:06:26blade and like, well, lone ne Excalibur. And then we get him
- 1:06:31walking out with his grandmother. He's like, cool, I'm gonna take a
- 1:06:35EXCaliber. I'm gonna go into other world and I'm going to force somebody to
- 1:06:40heal them for me. He'll grand for me, or I must have I
- 1:06:44want fucking Excalibur. That's his game plan because that's gonna work, right,
- 1:06:47Not really, So he walks back into other world and walks straight up to
- 1:06:56King Arthur and Elaine and Galahad as there are talking about how she's like,
- 1:07:04my son's a perfect night. He's like, oh, yes, somehow he
- 1:07:08did not get the Holy Grandmas. What's happening there? And of course Duncan
- 1:07:15comes in interrupts them, and he by this point he figures out that Elaine
- 1:07:19is really his mother. So that would mean that Galahad and Duncan are brothers,
- 1:07:30half brothers, because I don't think they have the same father, or
- 1:07:33they never really say they have the same father, but I'm assuming they do
- 1:07:36not because of how his mother, whose real name is Mary, but took
- 1:07:45on the Arthenian role of Elaine, so she had the fine Lancelots. I'm
- 1:07:53assuming their two different fathers the same mother, so they're brothers. And she's
- 1:07:57kind of shook by this because she's like, oh shit. She wasn't expecting
- 1:08:00him to figure it out that his mother, Elaine or Mary, is Grand's
- 1:08:06daughter who she got into all this mess in the first place, the whole
- 1:08:12family business thing and the Mary course, Duncan's holding EXCaliber as he's horde of
- 1:08:20zombies come up and he starts swinging the sword and all the zombies start flying
- 1:08:24into pieces and ripping the shreds because the Excalibur is nothing the fuck with it's
- 1:08:29it's not it's it's the legendary sword for a reason, a magical, legendary
- 1:08:32sword for a purpose that the ladies like, here, you go fuck him
- 1:08:36up. So he does, and Arthur is like, yeah, give me
- 1:08:45the sword, and I'll give you the belt that hell that the belt,
- 1:08:48the healing belt that he has. Give me the sword and I will give
- 1:08:51you on the belt to heal your grandmother. And he's like, it's not
- 1:08:57mine to give. So Arthur is not happy with that. They start doing
- 1:09:04the trade because obviously he's he thinks he can just get the sword. So
- 1:09:15from there, grand steps in between those two and he starts spilling the tea
- 1:09:21on Galahad and they quote he is the greatest knight and his father was the
- 1:09:29greatest night before him, and you see, you see, and a great
- 1:09:33night too, I bet Lancelot. And Arthur's like, I had not heard
- 1:09:39this warrior. Granted, he does not know a lot of things, because
- 1:09:42again his mind is scrambled, and of course Lancelot and some lord. Depending
- 1:09:46on the lord, he's either a French, a Frenchman, or he's Celtic,
- 1:09:51which is kind of funny because we really think about it. There there's
- 1:09:56a branch of the Celtic group that's also in France. The I think it's
- 1:10:00the province, province state. I think it's province province of Brittany in France.
- 1:10:08That all that the Celtic lineage resides because the Celts are obviously in the
- 1:10:13British Isles, but also a little part of France. So Lancelot is supposedly
- 1:10:16either French or Celtic, or I guess in some ways both. And She's
- 1:10:21like, yeah, that French she who shagged with your wife. And Arthur's
- 1:10:28like, oh, Frank laid with my queen, oh lord, and does
- 1:10:33he you don't know if Frank is an old is the old term for French?
- 1:10:39Is all the French were called before France. So and and Arthur's like,
- 1:10:45you brought a Frank up in here, you laid with a Frenchman.
- 1:10:49And of course he's not very happy about it. He's kind of pissed.
- 1:10:53He's a gal has like I'm the perfect Knight. I belong with the court
- 1:10:56of Arthur like a little and so they kind of throw us at his mom
- 1:11:04Elaine or Mary. They're like, cool, let's kill her. Galahad's fine.
- 1:11:10So Duncan gets in the way of that, and Arthur and Duncan duke
- 1:11:13it out as they make their escape plan to leave are their son's army of
- 1:11:18undead horses and shit. As they make their way out, they get to
- 1:11:21set exit and grands like Elaine, Mary, come with me, will save
- 1:11:28you, and she does not. She stays back, and we end the
- 1:11:33first volume of the Final Door closing Duncan throwing the Excalibur back into the water
- 1:11:39to the ladies of the Lake, returning the weapon that belonged to him,
- 1:11:44and they figure out their next plan to stop King Arthur. As they're doing
- 1:11:49that, the Questing Beast comes back at the very end, at the most
- 1:11:55inappropriate time, does not needed, so eventually the duke it out. Duncan
- 1:12:00does kill him like he's supposed to according to this story, and that's where
- 1:12:02volume one ends with the death of the Questions, which means the quest is
- 1:12:10in full throttle now, and then we jump to Merlin. Merlin Elaine going
- 1:12:16through other world and she finds a certain somebody of magical nature. Can you
- 1:12:23guess who? Chicko Merlin. She finds Merlin and she's like, oh my
- 1:12:34god, she went. She goes to find Merlin and Merlin's like, you're
- 1:12:38not Elaine based She's like, you're Nemu, which is the Antian law that
- 1:12:49has the rower name of the Lady of like the one Lady of the Lake,
- 1:12:53which is kind of weird because in this story there's multiple Ladies of the
- 1:12:56Lake, which kind of goes into show goes to show you that they're multiple
- 1:12:59iteration of sad stories which are represented by the ladd Lake or in this case,
- 1:13:03Ladies of Like. And that is the end of volume one of Sad
- 1:13:11Story. Do we have time to do one? Do we have time to
- 1:13:14do the other? Or do you want to call it? Because I can
- 1:13:16do two through five next week, and we can just start a little earlier
- 1:13:19if need be. It's almost six, don't you have spoop? I do
- 1:13:29at eight? Oh it sounds sill eight? Yeah, because I can do
- 1:13:34because we can start a little earlier next week. We cauld I get two,
- 1:13:38one or two next week and just I can go through two through five,
- 1:13:44or I can turn this in three parts, doesn't matter. I didn't
- 1:13:46want to go to the second volume if you wanted to call it quin since
- 1:13:49it's almost six. I mean, if you could do volume two real quick,
- 1:13:57I can do today, cool cool all words two, Volume two,
- 1:14:01which is titled Old English Old English Yop. So now we jump over to
- 1:14:11King Arthur with Galahad and other World and Camelot. Uh came, yes,
- 1:14:20yes, say it again, Camelot, Camelot. That's how you say camelot
- 1:14:27mslexic. Okay, it looks it looks one way to say it, but
- 1:14:30it doesn't sound right. Camelot. I heard I heard you say it earlier,
- 1:14:33and I was like, huh, I never heard of it. Yeah,
- 1:14:38I'll say it wrong, but yeah, I was like I didn't even
- 1:14:41yeah, yeah, I'm just like earlier, like, how were you?
- 1:14:49Like, huh, I don't know much about Arthur anymore. I just slipped
- 1:14:54my mind. And then you said it again. I'm like, wait,
- 1:14:57you mean Camelot, camel Yeah, yeah, came out so there Camelot and
- 1:15:01camel looks like a straight out of a Benstroker novel. It looks ooky,
- 1:15:08spooky and not yet cheery and happy, go lucky as you thinking earth is
- 1:15:11supposed to be. Yeah. No, So King Arthur being on dead skeletor
- 1:15:15looking bitch as Army of undead bitches, has a Galahad there and he's like
- 1:15:23cool, Oh my god, you should totally do this for me. He's
- 1:15:29like, would you risk it all to sit on the siege siege that's sorry,
- 1:15:33the siege perilous And he's like, yeah, siege perilous. Yes,
- 1:15:38only the greatest Night could sit upon it and live. Now the siege perilous,
- 1:15:43You don't know, Arthurian law, of course, is a throne that
- 1:15:45is only to be sat on by the person to find the Holy Grail.
- 1:15:51Now, this throne is a throne of spikes and skeletons that are impaled the
- 1:15:58form this weird throughout Siege perilous and Galahads like, yeah, I can totally
- 1:16:01sit on this. I got this. I'm goa be the one to find
- 1:16:03the Holy Grail. Because he thinks he's top shit. So he sits in
- 1:16:09the chair and he's like, there see it's clear and bright, my features
- 1:16:13clear and bright, and I got this. As the siege perilous starts eating
- 1:16:18his flesh. His flesh starts becoming like armor, and his flesh start becoming
- 1:16:26acidic and melts into his body as his muscle and skin start melting, and
- 1:16:30he's screaming in agony as his body is changing into a monster, and Arthur
- 1:16:41is like, no, you are my greatest knight if you live, you
- 1:16:45know if you live, So he is flesh as his flesh is melting off.
- 1:16:49We jump back to Duncan as he's just finished killing a pixie because randomly
- 1:17:00he's on a mission. I guess. I guess that mission dealt with killing
- 1:17:02a pixie. I don't know, and he tells his grandmother about it.
- 1:17:06He's like, I'm never gonna look at a tottel the same way again,
- 1:17:10and I'm like, what does that mean? I kind of want to know
- 1:17:13what that means now. So he's updating on his grandmother and he talks to
- 1:17:19Rose, and of course Rose is telling him about his next mission on what
- 1:17:25he needs to do next, because she's all up in this mess too now.
- 1:17:29So shared again, they're going around solving all these problems and ship trying
- 1:17:32to stop King Arthur from progressing his mission or what not to bring back England.
- 1:17:43He talks about how other World's a lot bigger than initially thought, there's
- 1:17:47more to it, and how the influence of it is spreading m Then they
- 1:17:54jumped to uh. She tells them, oh, yeah, you need to
- 1:17:56go to London and you go to the British Museum. There's something going on
- 1:18:00there. And he's like, okay, I will go up there. So
- 1:18:04he goes to the British Museum in London as he's holding a little Christ and
- 1:18:09that kind of guides him throughout the museum to the opening that was made to
- 1:18:15other worlds. He gets there, he sees a manuscript and like a with
- 1:18:24a call a helmet and shield, and he's like, oh wow, this
- 1:18:29is kind of interesting. Why am I here? As this smoke starts coming
- 1:18:32in again and you see Galahad on his horse. Galahad is a zombiefied,
- 1:18:42burned victim, armors melted into his flash. He had spikes coming out of
- 1:18:47his face, like he looks straight out of hell. And he's like what
- 1:18:51happened? And it's like what happened? He's like, I'm the perfect night,
- 1:18:56I'm perfect. As he races up, his swords are slashing around trying
- 1:19:00to kill Duncan as of course Duncan's how how like that's gonna do anything.
- 1:19:06As that's happening somewhere else in the British Library. Someone breaks into the library
- 1:19:14and steals a manuscript, an old manuscript. So obviously this is a diversion
- 1:19:21that's happening in the museum. So Duncan and Galahad are duking it out as
- 1:19:28Granny comes in and has a gun. She sets them. Doesn't work,
- 1:19:33obviously, but Galahad gets pissed and he starts running towards grand as there's a
- 1:19:38string that is that is stretched across a hallway, and of course he's galloping.
- 1:19:46He's running and gets cut in half there's a metal wire and he disappears.
- 1:19:54But obviously he's like, yeah, I'm not dead. He's not technically
- 1:19:57dead. He just goes back to other world. So they take care of
- 1:20:00him and they go. Rose tells them, yeah, something was stolen from
- 1:20:08the British Library, a manuscript. And did they say the manuscript? The
- 1:20:15manuscript was this is the British Library had mysterious breaking. They stole a manuscript.
- 1:20:26I'm just describing now as getting a tracy. It doesn't Yeah, she
- 1:20:30doesn't say exactly what the manuscript was. Yet then we jump back to Elaine
- 1:20:38huh or Nemu. Now she is reading from this manuscript and this old English
- 1:20:47or Norwegian words as this on top of this hill, and this fire starts
- 1:20:59burned as this mansters coming out of the mound and it is BeO Wolf.
- 1:21:04Oh yeah, Beowolf and his glory good lord yeap. So the manuscript that
- 1:21:15they stole that Elaine Mary Nimu stole was Beowolf, and bail was like,
- 1:21:24all the foes that BeO Wolf will be blade kissed by don. Of course
- 1:21:28that's bailable for you. So now they have Berewolf with someone for some unknown
- 1:21:32reason, some weird reason. Grant and Duncan go to that mound and they're
- 1:21:36kind of looking around like this is weird, what's going on here? And
- 1:21:40they're finding evidence that something was brought back from somewhere, but they're not quite
- 1:21:46sure what. As they're kind of Grand's looking at the ritual and she's like
- 1:21:54hmm. She's like, well, the manuscript was bail Wall and he's like,
- 1:22:01what about Bailiff. Say, don't be draft, Duncan. Bailoff is
- 1:22:05just a poem, she said, Bailiff is not real, of course.
- 1:22:10She's like, yeah, Bailf's not real, of course, not woy would
- 1:22:14it be real? You're gonna jump back to other world? And galhads legs
- 1:22:18are missing and he's screaming bloody Murder's blood and guts are porn everywhere, and
- 1:22:23Arthur's like, even your house are mighty. Arthur is impressed. King Arthur
- 1:22:30is impressed. King Arthur is just now just poking fun at them at this
- 1:22:36point, and he's a greatest night, greatest lungs as Galahad will eventually rebuild
- 1:22:45himself. It's just gonna, he said, be screaming in agony until it
- 1:22:47happens. And he's like, am I gonna die? And King Arthur's like,
- 1:22:54I won't let you. You're fine, You're fine, walk it off
- 1:22:57whall. He'll be fine, He would walk it all if you had legs.
- 1:23:02So then they're interrupted by bo Wolf coming into the room and he's like,
- 1:23:09Beowolf comes to your hall. Now there's like, I am Arthur.
- 1:23:13I am the one who whips the Saxon dogs. He's like, no,
- 1:23:18Saxon am I. Of course, as you know, Beololf is not Saxon
- 1:23:23Anglo Saxon. He is a tale from is it Norway? Yeah, he's
- 1:23:33a Viking tale, right, Yeah, it's a Northern Germanic h so kind
- 1:23:41of like in that scan, the scan, the Greater Scandinavian. Yeah,
- 1:23:44Germanic okay, yeah, yeah, he's from the Germanic legend. Yes.
- 1:23:49It's funny because like there's a certain part of Germanmanic lore where it overlaps with
- 1:23:55Scandinavians, So like a lot of stuff from Norway, from the Norwegian area
- 1:24:01Sweden. Basically where like the Scandinavian folklore begins, you know, like with
- 1:24:08the Vikings, the acer Vanny or the you know, Norse legends, they
- 1:24:14begin to overlap with Germanic legends and in some cases Celtic as well. Yes,
- 1:24:25So Beowulf and Arthur duke it out, and Merlin breaks them up and
- 1:24:29saying, hey, we're on the same side here, and Arthur's like,
- 1:24:32I never heard of you, Biolwulf, Are you a mighty hero? And
- 1:24:35be Able is like, yeah, I kill monsters. I mean that's the
- 1:24:40layman's terms of it all. But basically, and when you really think about
- 1:24:44it, it's kind of fun to choose Beowulf because Beowulf and King Arthur are
- 1:24:47very similar. They're very similar. Yes, they are similar. Story.
- 1:24:57They have to fight monsters, they fight a battle, they have a whole
- 1:25:00heroic story. They have a magical sword that's either gifted to them or loaned
- 1:25:04to them, the same. But there's like similarities. And of course Merlin
- 1:25:13comes into the picture again. He's like my king and he's like bare Wolf
- 1:25:17will work with you or whatever, and he's like, ah, thank you,
- 1:25:20bo Wolf, blah blah blah blah. Merlin has an other he has
- 1:25:28his own plan going on while during all this, because he realizes that King
- 1:25:31Arthur's confused, his mind's all shambled up, and Merlin's like I because King
- 1:25:39Arthur is like who are you? And He's like, I'm Merlin, I'm
- 1:25:42the person you can trust. I am your advisor. And I was like,
- 1:25:46ah, yes, Merlin. Of course, Merlin has his own plans
- 1:25:50going on in the background. He has his own reasons for doing things.
- 1:25:54Of course, he was the one that got Elaine or now mimu A brought
- 1:26:00back bil Wolf that way, so he has a whole plan going on behind
- 1:26:02the scenes without Arthur knowing. Arthur knowing they would jump back to Duncan and
- 1:26:09Graham as they finish up their investigation with figuring out what's going on there with
- 1:26:15the mound that the that his mother summoned Bale Wolf from, and his mother
- 1:26:23is watching them from a tree as she is throwing asking questions and she's throwing
- 1:26:31out these sticks to tray answers some magical shiit. So she's like, okay,
- 1:26:44it's like she She's like, they leave and she throws the sticks and
- 1:26:46the sixth form good await my command and she's like, well about Galahad and
- 1:26:51whoever saw is like he is well, And I'm assuming you can assume that
- 1:26:56she's talking to Merlin m And from there they drive back, they communicate,
- 1:27:01They talk to Rose that she's doing her scry and ship trying to figure out
- 1:27:06the next move. And then they find when she's scrying, one of the
- 1:27:15little needles that she used in the scribe with lands on the road that Duncan
- 1:27:19and Grant are on currently m and they're like, guys, uh, something's
- 1:27:26happening right where you're at And they're like what And they look out and Beowulf
- 1:27:30has flow from the sky. It lands on their car and wraps off the
- 1:27:34roof of the car as Beowolf's trying to kill them because Beoolf thinks that gran
- 1:27:41and Duncan are Can you guess who he thinks they are? M Can you
- 1:27:47guess? Do you guess? Do you know the story of Biololf? I
- 1:27:56mean, off the top of my head, Grendel and his mom, Grendela,
- 1:28:00Grindall's mother. Yes, that is correct. So Bywell thinks that he's
- 1:28:02fighting Grindle and his mother without really realizing that, oh no, you're just
- 1:28:08fighting two no more people or monster hunters. So he rips off the roof
- 1:28:14of the car and they're freaking the hell out, and of course bullets are
- 1:28:18not working on this guy at all, of course, like why would they.
- 1:28:24So they're fighting off as they're trying to not crash the car, but
- 1:28:28they're like fuck it. Duncan flips the car and flips him off as the
- 1:28:32car just down the road flips and it's it's it's the car's gone. It's
- 1:28:40useless. Now they both live from the car crash and they try to get
- 1:28:44away from Balo Wolf and after a altercation with Balo Wolf, eventually Graham kills
- 1:28:55him with explosives. Them up blows them to a million pieces. He's dead.
- 1:29:02BeO Wolf is now gone, and now Grant and Duncan are just like,
- 1:29:05well, shit, Grant, it's kind of funny. Grant's like,
- 1:29:10damn, fuck me. I guess BeO Wolf is real because she didn't think
- 1:29:13he was. Then we jumped back to the nursing home that Grant's supposed to
- 1:29:21be at. So Duncan takes its grandmother back to the nursing home, and
- 1:29:28as their at said nursing home, we jumped back to Nimu or Elaine or
- 1:29:35Mary, depending on which name you're just going by at that moment, because
- 1:29:39she's filling a role for this lord on purpose to fill up this whole story
- 1:29:44and bullshit. She talks to Merlin, and Merlin's like, we got a
- 1:29:47plan, just keep up to the plan. Everything's gucchiet, and he acknowledges
- 1:29:54that they killed the hero. They killed Beowulf, And we jump back to
- 1:30:01the what we call it a nursing home as Grant's chilling with the old people,
- 1:30:14and we catch like Duncan going back home. Finally, sleeping Rose is
- 1:30:17doing her own thing. As she's scrying. Rose is scrying. Everything goes
- 1:30:25to the nursing home. So she's like, oh shit, something's gonna happy
- 1:30:29at that nursing house. We see one of the gardeners of said nursing home
- 1:30:34get attacked by Grendel. Grendel. Of course, of course it's gonna be
- 1:30:42Grendel, right, So Grendel's this big green monster with sharp teeth, kind
- 1:30:45of a hulk looking thing, and he's like Grendel's hungry, or Grendel hungers
- 1:30:50as he rips his Manda, shreds, rubs his head off, and then
- 1:30:55eats him. And he's trying to find Duncan's trying to get a ride to
- 1:31:02his grandmother's place, but of course his car is destroyed, but he can't
- 1:31:06seem to get a ride there. Corners a taxi driver, and he's like,
- 1:31:12you know what this works for. My grandmother points a guy in and
- 1:31:14so you're gonna drive me. You're gonna train where I need to go.
- 1:31:17So he's on his way driving as Grendel busts into the front door of the
- 1:31:25nursing house, killing off everybody. They're not killing off everybody, but scaring
- 1:31:30the shit of everyone, and Bridge is like, I need to take care
- 1:31:33of the situation before it gets bad as Duncan and the taxi driver are driving
- 1:31:39straight there. Old people are hiding. Grendel's destroying the place. The taxi
- 1:31:45driver and Duncan get there and they do fight off them, with grand taking
- 1:31:55a hot thing of oil throws that Grendel burns his face, blinds him and
- 1:32:00then when Duncan gets there between him and everyone else, cops come up as
- 1:32:04well. They die. Of course. Eventually they do kill Grendel, but
- 1:32:12the taxi driver that came with them dies in the process of Grendall's death.
- 1:32:15Unfortunately, it's grousive. It's gross. I feel bad for the taxi driver
- 1:32:19because he's trying to go home to his wife family, but he died.
- 1:32:24It's fine. It's not fine, but you know, it's whatever. And
- 1:32:29during all this, we jump back to Berlin as he's getting a sewing needle
- 1:32:31and starts sewing. Got a head back together. All this is happening,
- 1:32:36Grendel does die again, stab in the throat and his head blows up and
- 1:32:42shit, and then we jump to Grendel's mother. Grendel's mother comes and attacks
- 1:32:49Duncan, and Duncan says everyone and Grendall's mother starts running all off to a
- 1:33:00swamp or a marsh and between. As that is all happening, Duncan's chasing
- 1:33:06after Grendall's mother, and his actual mother comes up and says, hey,
- 1:33:12I will help you. Just go out, dive into the dive into the
- 1:33:15marsh, into the swamp that Grendall's mother dive into. I will continue reading
- 1:33:21the manuscript and you will be fine. Basically, he ends up becoming a
- 1:33:28surrogate Beowolf. So as she's reading and she's fighting Duncan's fighting Grendall's mother and
- 1:33:33the swamp, he almost dies, and of course she's reading the story.
- 1:33:38She finishes it and Grahad comes up and she's like, what'd you read because
- 1:33:42it's not in English, and she's like, basically she is telling the rest
- 1:33:45of the sort of Balo wolf. BeO Wolf dies in the swamp, almost
- 1:33:48eyes to Grendall's mother as a sword comes up to his hands and comes back
- 1:33:54to life and it kills Grendall's mother. So that basically is what happened,
- 1:34:00is that he almost dies. The lady of the lake comes up gives him
- 1:34:06EXCaliber again is that here you go? And he used his excalibur to kill
- 1:34:12Grindall's mother nice, which is kind of funny because technically BeO Wolf does not
- 1:34:18have the sword. His sword is completely different. It's his name. The
- 1:34:23sword's name starts with an H. Crothgar I think is the name. Yeah
- 1:34:30that now Rothgar is the king anyway, his sword's name is completely different.
- 1:34:35It's different name. But in this place, since Duncan's being a fake,
- 1:34:42BeO Wolf sargate BeO Wolf. His sword is Excalibur, so he uses that
- 1:34:46to kill Grendall's mother, and after he finally kills her, he everything kind
- 1:34:56of just comes to an end pretty much like they try to come events Elaine
- 1:35:01to come back, but she's like, no, I'm filling the role.
- 1:35:03I got a jump too, So she leaves them, and Rose and Duncan
- 1:35:11relationship blossoms. They have a kiss on panel, and then we jump over
- 1:35:16to Elaine and Merlin as they talk more about their plan and how Grendel's slowly
- 1:35:21getting better, but of course he lost both his legs and shit, so
- 1:35:27it's going to take a hot minute. She's like, Merlin's like, yo,
- 1:35:30that's fine, And after that we jump over to other worlds where we
- 1:35:39see King Arthur and Merlin and Merlin is like the plants in motion. To
- 1:35:44find the Grail. We need Perceval Galahad and Boroughs now Boroughs. Since we're
- 1:35:53already there, where is you do? I did not actually do that.
- 1:35:58When we look that up for it pretty quick they can kind of give you
- 1:36:01a description of what Borroughs is. Borrows is the name of his name of
- 1:36:06two knights, and they need lord an elder any younger. The two appear
- 1:36:11in the thirteenth century Lancelot Grail romance story. They got Borrows the elder and
- 1:36:17Borrows the younger. These are two knights. We jumped to the British government.
- 1:36:26The British government knows about all this going on, and that's how they
- 1:36:30get around the police. They tell the police this is business dealing with the
- 1:36:34federal the British government, so they kind of just lay them alone. It's
- 1:36:38how they've been getting around doing all this shit. So the government, the
- 1:36:41Parliament knows about all this. Prime Minister knows because it's then their constitution about
- 1:36:45all this shit. So they've been cleaning up the mess after them. And
- 1:36:50we come to the Prime Minister talking about all this shit. As he appears
- 1:36:55to he has a box in his hand and he opens the box. He's
- 1:36:59like, that's with the box some ship. He opens it and Merlin comes
- 1:37:02up and Merlin's like, not Borroughs, but close enough, and he takes
- 1:37:09the Prime Minister. And that is the end of volume two of the Once
- 1:37:15in Future story. Yeah, so they have their Galahad, they have their
- 1:37:21Percival, and now they need the Boroughs, which is the I guess it
- 1:37:27is going to be the Prime Minister. I don't know if they're going to
- 1:37:29do Borrows the Elder or Borrows the Younger, or both of them, because
- 1:37:33Borrows the Younger is the son of is the son of his Borrows the Elder's
- 1:37:43brother. Yeah, yeah, so I don't know if they're going after they're
- 1:37:48gonna have need both or they're gonna need one of them, but either way,
- 1:37:53the god borrows. So yeah, so that'd be that's the end of
- 1:37:58the first two volumes. I going to do a rating system for the first
- 1:38:01two volumes. I'll save that for next week. We do part two volumes
- 1:38:05three through five to keep the finish out the story. So final thoughts,
- 1:38:12checkoub on anything. It sounds like a very interesting story and I'm starting to
- 1:38:17see a trend because like, of course, like first volume, we had
- 1:38:21the introduction of King Arthur, and he's he's gonna be a bad guy.
- 1:38:27He's the problem. Yeah, he's the problem. He doesn't realized he's the
- 1:38:30problem. He's doing his job, but yeah, he's the reason for all
- 1:38:34the dark the dark times of Breton and Ship. Yeah. So but now
- 1:38:43I'm starting to see a trend because now they've introduced Boe Wolf in volume two,
- 1:38:47So I'm sorry, yeah, they killed him off, and now I'm
- 1:38:51just like, what more are we going to see coming after this? So
- 1:38:59are we gonna seeing other like heroic figures that are actually oh like they're not
- 1:39:04heroes, they're the bad guys, they're the possibly possibly So I'm yeah,
- 1:39:12I'm you are I know, I know you already know because you've read it.
- 1:39:15But yeah, so but I'm I'm gonna they're probably gonna throw out like
- 1:39:19other Arthurian esque kind of figures. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but you
- 1:39:32know, yeah, go on. Sorry, I was gonna say, i'd
- 1:39:40say I'll give it a read, but my reading list is so long right
- 1:39:44now that it's gonna be ages before we even get to that. Like,
- 1:39:49right now, I am still reading I'm almost done with book four of The
- 1:39:54Wheel of Time and I just bought book five, and you're gonna dive into
- 1:39:59five, got it? Yeah, I'm gonna just well, I'm trying to
- 1:40:01get The Wheel of Time has fourteen books, and like I'm trying to like
- 1:40:08I'm just trying to get through them all, Like I mean, I'm enjoying
- 1:40:11the story so far. Like the thing the thing about the story is is
- 1:40:15that like it starts off interesting, Like each book starts off like interesting,
- 1:40:18okay, cool, like kind of like puts like a little something for you,
- 1:40:23you know, like, Okay, this is this interesting more okay,
- 1:40:27Like oh it enhance at what we're gonna be dealing with throughout the rest of
- 1:40:30the book, okay. And then like the middle half of the book kind
- 1:40:31of drags because there's just a lot of setting and world building and like like,
- 1:40:39okay, this is the setting of what like these character this group of
- 1:40:42characters are gonna be set in this other group and then eventually they're all gonna
- 1:40:45like it's all gonna come together and it starts picking up towards the end,
- 1:40:50and that's what it's doing. Like right now where I'm at, like I
- 1:40:54have one hundred pages. I have like less than one hundred pages left in
- 1:40:57the book, so it's gonna be like it's and it's picking up. I'm
- 1:41:00like like it's like I'm like getting so like engross, Like Okay, what's
- 1:41:06gonna happen, what's gonna happen next? Like bookends? Fuck next book?
- 1:41:12Yeah? So yeah, And like I was curious because I've I've now since
- 1:41:19I've watched the show already, like I got I need to watch season one
- 1:41:23of the Wheel of Time again because I really because I haven't. I watched
- 1:41:27it years ago, and I'm realizing, oh fuck, I've I forgot a
- 1:41:31lot of what they did in the first in the first season, and I
- 1:41:35gotta watch it again because we're gonna review book one and two of a Wheel
- 1:41:40of Time. Yes, yes we are. Yeah. So when we're done
- 1:41:45with your next few books, uh so after three four volume three, four
- 1:41:50and five, what other book did you want to read? Or was that
- 1:41:53it? So I've got next week of the volumes three, four and five
- 1:41:59of It's the Future of course. The week after that, i want to
- 1:42:02do American Gods finally, and then after that we'll jump back to we'll do
- 1:42:11something for both of us Godzilla, okay, and then after god then after
- 1:42:17Godzilla, well we can do the week we'll go back and we'll start doing
- 1:42:24well, well, back and forth from that point, we can we can
- 1:42:27go ahead and just do we can just go ahead and do book one and
- 1:42:30two of the Wheel of Time after Godzilla. Yeah, Yeah, we can
- 1:42:33just go ahead and we'll do book one first, and then next week we'll
- 1:42:38do book two. Yeah, and then from there we'll just go like back
- 1:42:42and forth. If we have books or I can do a few more,
- 1:42:45because I have a couple, have a I have a some books that I
- 1:42:47haven't gone over yet too, So yeah, and now we got video stuff,
- 1:42:54and I go, you see this, applaud future Devin because he probably
- 1:43:00sat there on the screen like, what the fuck am I going to do
- 1:43:01with this? How am I gonna make it look pretty? What editing buffoonery
- 1:43:08am I going to unfold? So I'm sure you're gonna come up with something
- 1:43:14good. I know I will, but I have sir, Yeah, So
- 1:43:25definitely these are definitely this is definitely an interesting story and I can't wait to
- 1:43:29see So is it just five volumes? Five volumes for the whole complete story
- 1:43:32five volumes thirty issues. Yeah, all right, because I was thinking,
- 1:43:39like, man volunteers, it seemed like you got through volume two really quick,
- 1:43:43Flume. There's a lot more action than the volume one because volume one
- 1:43:45is all of the course, the groundwork a place of what's happening in the
- 1:43:49story. Volume two is a lot more just action stuff. So I kind
- 1:43:53of just like zip through that. So all right, Well, I can't
- 1:44:00wait until we hear the conclusion next week, see how everything turns out.
- 1:44:05And yeah, we're not gonna do the rating system this week because we're not
- 1:44:10technically done with the whole story yet, so we'll go ahead and hold off
- 1:44:13on that. And well, as far as that goes, I this definitely
- 1:44:18sounds it was an interesting story. Can't wait until the rest of it.
- 1:44:25And yeah, thanks guys for joining us for our first like video episode.
- 1:44:30This is the first time we've done this. Yeah, And when we started
- 1:44:38recording, I saw the background, my background here, like, I'm like,
- 1:44:42oh, my room's a mess. Well, you're only seeing a small
- 1:44:45part of it. It's like very fine compared to yours. It's very sparse,
- 1:44:50like you have all the cool stuff in the background, and I'm just
- 1:44:53like you can, can't. You can see some boxes right here, my
- 1:44:55PlayStation right here, and maybe like those little guds little figures right there,
- 1:44:59and my and my dog's bag of food. Well, you're also in your
- 1:45:02bedroom. I'm not in my bedroom. I'm in my floyer. We're all
