- 0:14Speaker 3: Camerasata inn And I was the morning in Midday TV
- 0:17Speaker 3: news anchor for twenty years. Hey on Channel seven. I

- 0:53Speaker 3: got lots to talk about today to wrap up the
- 0:55Speaker 3: busy newsweek, but we want to hear from you. The
- 0:57Speaker 3: phone lines are open one eight hundred three two one
- 1:01Speaker 3: zero seven to ten. Massive flooding in New York and
- 1:05Speaker 3: the tri State yesterday. Did you get caught in any
- 1:07Speaker 3: of that.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Man, oh man, the.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Wind, the storm, it was like a nor' easter, but
- 1:12Speaker 3: it wasn't. I guess officially it wasn't a nor' easter,
- 1:15Speaker 3: but nonetheless a huge front. We had one to three
- 1:18Speaker 3: inches of rain, depending on where you were. But some
- 1:20Speaker 3: of the low lying areas, like we know southern Brooklyn,
- 1:23Speaker 3: the coastal areas, they were under feet of standing water
- 1:26Speaker 3: and people in basement apartments.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Got really flooded.
- 1:29Speaker 3: At least two people have died that we know of,
- 1:31Speaker 3: so our prayers for them. Just awful, awful rain. And
- 1:35Speaker 3: speaking of awful rain, awful news. In Jamaica, Hurricane Melissa
- 1:41Speaker 3: causing at least fifty nine deaths that we know of
- 1:45Speaker 3: so far, because it's possible that as they get through
- 1:48Speaker 3: all the destruction, the devastation, they may find more people.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Just widespread destruction. A mother talks about how she's helping
- 1:56Speaker 3: her children through the disaster.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I tried to be strong with them, and but deep inside,
- 2:01Speaker 2: I'm crying.
- 2:02Speaker 4: I'm really really crying.
- 2:06Speaker 2: What yours like?
- 2:07Speaker 5: Hid it?
- 2:08Speaker 2: We will survive, we will survive, we will survey.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Amen to you, and I mean amen to that. Just
- 2:14Speaker 3: an awful storm that was a Cat five Category five
- 2:17Speaker 3: hitting Jamaica at one hundred and eighty five miles an hour.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I think it's it's ranked the worst, if not one
- 2:22Speaker 3: of the worst storms to hit Landfall in terms of
- 2:25Speaker 3: power in the Atlantic.
- 2:27Speaker 2: It's just amazing.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Back at home, the mayor's race continues to tighten. But
- 2:32Speaker 3: is it too little too late? Here were the three
- 2:35Speaker 3: candidates at a recent debate.
- 2:37Speaker 6: I am the last person on this stage that mister
- 2:42Speaker 6: Trump wants to see as mayor.
- 2:44Speaker 7: I am Donald Trump's worst nightmare as a progressive Muslim
- 2:48Speaker 7: immigrant who actually fights for the things that I believe in.
- 2:50Speaker 8: Oh, if you believe andrewl Como, who's calling up Trump
- 2:54Speaker 8: all the time, I'm going to stand up to him
- 2:56Speaker 8: him and dammy, I'm going to stand up to him.
- 2:58Speaker 8: You stand up to President Trump will go shows all
- 3:00Speaker 8: the money.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Guess what we the citizens lose now.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Andrew Cuomo was on with Larry Menti on Menti in
- 3:06Speaker 3: the Morning today. He recently received an infusion of some
- 3:09Speaker 3: cash one and a half million dollars from former mayor
- 3:12Speaker 3: and billionaire Michael Bloomberg through a political action committee. The question, again,
- 3:16Speaker 3: is is it too little, too late? Now, three polls
- 3:19Speaker 3: were released this week and they show the Cuomo has
- 3:22Speaker 3: improved his chances, but that was only four days to go,
- 3:26Speaker 3: so it looks like it's going to take a miracle
- 3:28Speaker 3: at this point. The closest poll is I guess the
- 3:31Speaker 3: Quinnipiac University poll, and that one is showing Cuomo within
- 3:35Speaker 3: ten points of Mamdanni. And while lots of nice improvement,
- 3:38Speaker 3: you remember, it only takes one vote, that's it. If
- 3:40Speaker 3: ma'm donnie has one more vote than the next person,
- 3:42Speaker 3: that's it. There's an Emerson College poll that has mam
- 3:46Speaker 3: Donni twenty five points ahead of Cuomo, and the Marist
- 3:50Speaker 3: poll has Mamdanni sixteen points ahead. So I don't mean
- 3:53Speaker 3: to be the negative Nelly here, but I don't see
- 3:55Speaker 3: how it gets pulled off. Nonetheless, you never know, because
- 3:59Speaker 3: not every body goes voting for mayor. You have a
- 4:01Speaker 3: lot of people who sit it out, go and vote.
- 4:04Speaker 3: You may surprise yourself and everybody and change things. So
- 4:07Speaker 3: we'll see where it goes. By the way, recent survey
- 4:10Speaker 3: shows that that get this, sixty nine percent of anyone
- 4:16Speaker 3: under the age of fifty in New York supports mam Donnie.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Yeah, let me let me.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Repeat that, sixty nine percent, so nearly seven and ten
- 4:27Speaker 3: of all New Yorkers under the age fifty and under.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Now it's not twenty and under or thirty and under
- 4:34Speaker 3: fifty an under, as I like to say, they should
- 4:36Speaker 3: know better by then they support Mam Donnie. So at
- 4:40Speaker 3: this point, all you on the right, I say we
- 4:42Speaker 3: should sit back, get a bag of popcorn, and watch
- 4:45Speaker 3: as New York implodes with liberalism and socialism because it
- 4:50Speaker 3: doesn't work.
- 4:50Speaker 2: It has failed everywhere.
- 4:52Speaker 3: It's been tried. Everything that Mam Donnie wants to give
- 4:55Speaker 3: you free, free, free, free has to get paid for
- 4:58Speaker 3: by someone from so somewhere, and that money doesn't exist.
- 5:02Speaker 3: And you can't have rent control you know where he
- 5:05Speaker 3: comes in, it takes over and freezes rent. That is
- 5:08Speaker 3: done by the rent Control Board. That's state law. You
- 5:11Speaker 3: can't just come in and say, well I'll sign a
- 5:13Speaker 3: mayoral proclamation. Well good luck with that. It's not enforceable.
- 5:17Speaker 3: So this is going to be interesting to see. And
- 5:19Speaker 3: by the way, everybody was like, yeah, we should freeze
- 5:21Speaker 3: the rent. Yeah, I wish we could. The problem is
- 5:23Speaker 3: the city keeps imposing all these rules on landlords, so
- 5:26Speaker 3: they have to maintain their buildings, which is fine and
- 5:30Speaker 3: they should, but that costs money. It costs millions of dollars.
- 5:34Speaker 3: People have this misconception that every landlord is a billionaire
- 5:37Speaker 3: sitting back counting their money, and that's not always the case.
- 5:41Speaker 3: In many cases, it's people who inherit a building from
- 5:44Speaker 3: a relative or whatever, and now they have to maintain
- 5:46Speaker 3: it or they have to distress sell it. In the meantime,
- 5:49Speaker 3: the city comes in, it says you owe taxes, you
- 5:51Speaker 3: have to keep it heated. If there's anything that breaks down,
- 5:53Speaker 3: you got to fix it immediately. There are all these
- 5:55Speaker 3: rules and rags. So yeah, while there are some landlords
- 5:58Speaker 3: who are very wealthy, many are not. So don't don't
- 6:02Speaker 3: paint with such a broad brushes what I'm saying. Seven
- 6:04Speaker 3: ten wore the Voice of New York. It's Ken Rozottowin
- 6:08Speaker 3: from Mark HALLOWEENI Friday. What are you dressing up as today?
- 6:11Speaker 3: Phone lines are open eight hundred and three to two,
- 6:14Speaker 3: one zero seven to ten. There's a New Manhattan Institute
- 6:18Speaker 3: poll that shows it if Congresswoman Elise Stephanic from upstate
- 6:21Speaker 3: New York. If Elise were to run against Kathy Hochel
- 6:25Speaker 3: for Governor of New York, Stephanic would beat her right
- 6:28Speaker 3: now by one point. New York City may be blue,
- 6:31Speaker 3: but the state is definitely purple. So while poles are
- 6:35Speaker 3: just a momentary snapshot of opinion, it does show you
- 6:38Speaker 3: that New York State is very much up for grabs
- 6:40Speaker 3: and the citizens are just fed up with the status quo.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Flip over to the garden state, New Jersey. It's a
- 6:46Speaker 3: whole different story. Two poles two days apart have Mikey,
- 6:51Speaker 3: Cheryl and Jack Chiarelli a point apart, well within the
- 6:55Speaker 3: margin of error. This was him last night, by the way,
- 6:58Speaker 3: during a town hall that Sean Hannity had with Fox
- 7:01Speaker 3: News Channel.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Listen. As he entered the room, let's go.
- 7:17Speaker 9: Hometown crowd, hometown crowd, it just became a it just
- 7:23Speaker 9: became a Trump rally.
- 7:25Speaker 3: To that, Chitterrelly responded, No, it's a Chitterrelly rally, which
- 7:27Speaker 3: I thought was kind of interesting. Guy that left a
- 7:30Speaker 3: little silence in the room. Jackson, nice man. I've interviewed
- 7:33Speaker 3: him myself on my show several times and here actually
- 7:36Speaker 3: had him on here once while I filled in for
- 7:40Speaker 3: I guess no, while yeah, I filled in for Larry
- 7:42Speaker 3: that day. Hard to keep track, but he's a great guy.
- 7:46Speaker 3: We've invited Mikey Cheryl on this show when I'm in
- 7:49Speaker 3: filling in. We've invited her on the show I do
- 7:51Speaker 3: in New Jersey probably fifty times. You actually get, let's
- 7:56Speaker 3: just say, a negative response. They want nothing to do
- 7:59Speaker 3: with with having her talk to media of any kind
- 8:02Speaker 3: except for MSNBC, where they feel they'll have a friendly audience.
- 8:05Speaker 2: That's it.
- 8:06Speaker 3: So we'll see what happens. You know, you have till Tuesday.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Early voting in New Jersey is through this Sunday, so
- 8:13Speaker 3: you can go and early vote till Sunday. Otherwise Monday
- 8:17Speaker 3: there is no voting Tuesday. You vote in person and
- 8:20Speaker 3: that's that. Then we'll I think Tuesday night's going to
- 8:22Speaker 3: be a very very late night. When asked about the polls,
- 8:26Speaker 3: Jack Chitdarelli had this to say, especially the early returns our.
- 8:29Speaker 9: Internal polling in twenty one, said that we had a
- 8:31Speaker 9: real shot this time. The internal polling says a whole
- 8:34Speaker 9: lot better. But listen, all I could tell is wherever
- 8:37Speaker 9: I go around the state, the energy is electric. The
- 8:39Speaker 9: reception of minority communities has been overwhelming positive and when
- 8:42Speaker 9: Democratic mayors across the state are endorsing the Republican nominee.
- 8:46Speaker 4: It tells you we're on the summer.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:50Speaker 3: So there are four people in New Jersey who either
- 8:52Speaker 3: are still Democrat and endorsed him, or are These are
- 8:55Speaker 3: council members and mayors or actually left a Democrat party
- 8:59Speaker 3: altogether wined the Republican Party and endorsed and support him
- 9:02Speaker 3: right now. So all the police unions are all behind
- 9:06Speaker 3: in the fire departments, they're all in support of Jack Cheddarelli.
- 9:10Speaker 3: When I said the early early polling or early results,
- 9:13Speaker 3: what I meant was the early voting that occurred. Jack
- 9:18Speaker 3: talked about the early ballots.
- 9:20Speaker 9: We've seen the greatest number of Republicans return vote by
- 9:23Speaker 9: mail ballots. That's a very very good sign. They went
- 9:25Speaker 9: out in last third week of September, and we're matching
- 9:28Speaker 9: them voter for voter here in the six days or
- 9:30Speaker 9: five days of early.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Voting that we've had thus far.
- 9:32Speaker 9: That'll conclude on Sunday. Listen, if we go into election
- 9:35Speaker 9: day within a certain number of points, we're going to
- 9:37Speaker 9: win this thing.
- 9:38Speaker 3: And now, just because a larger number of Republicans return ballots,
- 9:45Speaker 3: that doesn't mean every single Republican is going to support
- 9:47Speaker 3: the Republican candidate.
- 9:49Speaker 2: I mean, chances are they will, but.
- 9:50Speaker 3: You know, you never know. So same thing for the Democrat.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Just because they were talking about, oh, Mikey Cheryl is
- 9:56Speaker 3: edging out Cheddarelli in terms of a return of the ballots,
- 10:00Speaker 3: we got more Cheryl or more Democrat ballots coming in. Again,
- 10:03Speaker 3: that doesn't mean that they're all voting for Mikey Cheryl.
- 10:06Speaker 3: If they're all Democrats sending their ballots in, it could
- 10:09Speaker 3: go the other way. But overall, generally speaking, probably ninety
- 10:13Speaker 3: five percent or more will support their respective candidates and
- 10:16Speaker 3: their respective parties. Now, one thing I find that's interesting
- 10:19Speaker 3: if you go back four years this week exactly one
- 10:22Speaker 3: week actually before election day, four years ago, so a
- 10:25Speaker 3: little under four years ago, there was a Monmouth University
- 10:29Speaker 3: poll that had Governor Murphy eleven points ahead of Jack Chittarelli.
- 10:34Speaker 3: As is typical, all the polls tend to skew to
- 10:37Speaker 3: the left and they always give a better showing for
- 10:40Speaker 3: whoever the Democrat is. But so even though the polls
- 10:44Speaker 3: showed Murphy was eleven points ahead just days before the election,
- 10:47Speaker 3: he only won by three points. So the polls were
- 10:50Speaker 3: off by eight. Well, if that holds true today, if
- 10:54Speaker 3: Chittarelli is behind or ahead, say just by a point,
- 10:58Speaker 3: or they're tied as the polls are showing right now,
- 11:00Speaker 3: generally has a real shot. He may even win by three,
- 11:02Speaker 3: four five points. You never know, but.
- 11:05Speaker 2: You have to have to have to vote.
- 11:09Speaker 3: If your parents are elderly and have difficulty getting to
- 11:13Speaker 3: the polls, make sure they have a ride.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Okay, if you.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Drive and your friends don't, make sure they have a ride.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Make sure, no matter what, try to early vote if
- 11:22Speaker 3: you can. And if you want to go on election day,
- 11:24Speaker 3: then make sure you get there. I tend to say,
- 11:28Speaker 3: you never know. You could get stuck at work late.
- 11:30Speaker 3: You never know, you may wake up late. I would
- 11:33Speaker 3: try to early vote if you can between now and Sunday.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Don't take the chance. But make sure, no matter what,
- 11:39Speaker 3: whether it's New York City now or New Jersey, get
- 11:42Speaker 3: out and vote. And then the other thing I want
- 11:44Speaker 3: to ask all you folks in Jersey, don't just vote
- 11:47Speaker 3: for governor and call it a day. You have every
- 11:50Speaker 3: Assembly seat up for grabs, and there's one Senate seat
- 11:53Speaker 3: down south. It's to fill a vacancy. Make sure, you
- 11:57Speaker 3: vote down the ballot, and if you want to send
- 12:00Speaker 3: a message and you are voting for the Republican candidate
- 12:03Speaker 3: for governor, vote A lot of people say, yeah, I
- 12:06Speaker 3: vote for Republicans for president and governor, and then I
- 12:09Speaker 3: vote Democrat for the local offices. Not a good idea.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Not a good idea because you end up causing gridlock.
- 12:15Speaker 3: You've had listen in New Jersey right now. The governor's
- 12:18Speaker 3: a Democrat, State Assembly, state Senate, the Supreme Court all
- 12:22Speaker 3: Democrat control, all of them. You have the top fifteen
- 12:26Speaker 3: cities in New Jersey run by Democrat mayor's Democrat administrations.
- 12:30Speaker 3: The top fifteen all right in New Jersey goes only
- 12:32Speaker 3: about nine and a half million people. You have both
- 12:36Speaker 3: US Senate seats occupied by Democrats, and you have nine
- 12:40Speaker 3: of the twelve Congress seats US Congress seats that are
- 12:43Speaker 3: occupied by Democrats. So you've already given Democrats a shot.
- 12:47Speaker 3: And New Jersey has the highest energy builds in the nation,
- 12:51Speaker 3: some of the highest taxes, the highest cost for pupil
- 12:54Speaker 3: with not always the greatest return depending on what district
- 12:57Speaker 3: we're talking about. So if you are tired of the
- 13:00Speaker 3: expenses and the regulation and allowing adult men in girls'
- 13:06Speaker 3: bathrooms because they wake up thinking they're women.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Enough.
- 13:10Speaker 3: If you're tired of the sanctuary state and sanctuary city
- 13:13Speaker 3: status of New Jersey, stop voting Democrat. It's as simple
- 13:17Speaker 3: as that. It's like the definition of insanity. You keep
- 13:19Speaker 3: doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a
- 13:21Speaker 3: different outcome. Not get off, try something different for once.
- 13:25Speaker 3: I was reading some of the blogs last night. It's
- 13:27Speaker 3: amazing how many people who were complaining about the cost
- 13:31Speaker 3: of energy and the cost of taxes and homes and
- 13:33Speaker 3: everything else, and they were saying, but vote blue. What
- 13:37Speaker 3: are you expecting to change? What do you think is
- 13:39Speaker 3: suddenly Mikey Cheryl is just a different person, And all
- 13:41Speaker 3: the people running for Assembly on the left are different,
- 13:44Speaker 3: They're all the same. Mikey Cheryl supported everything. Joe Biden
- 13:48Speaker 3: put up everything. So don't expect the difference if you
- 13:51Speaker 3: keep voting Democrat.
- 13:54Speaker 10: Now.
- 13:54Speaker 3: The Democrat shutdown is on day thirty one. Senate Majority
- 13:57Speaker 3: Leader John Thune says the Democrats seemingly never wanted to end.
- 14:00Speaker 10: It was also a disturbing signal the Democrats are ready
- 14:04Speaker 10: to continue this shut down.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I guess forever.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Well, there may be a solution. President Trump is suggesting.
- 14:10Speaker 3: The Senate used the so called nuclear option. So right now,
- 14:14Speaker 3: when you have a spending plan that goes from the
- 14:16Speaker 3: House to the Senate, and it has to go in
- 14:17Speaker 3: that direction, it starts in the House, then a spending
- 14:20Speaker 3: plan goes to the Senate. The Senate must pass any
- 14:22Speaker 3: spending plan with sixty votes, okay, otherwise you could have
- 14:26Speaker 3: a filibuster.
- 14:27Speaker 2: So you need at least sixty votes.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Republicans only have fifty three members of the Senate, so
- 14:32Speaker 3: you need those Democrats to help.
- 14:34Speaker 11: Now.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Right now, a couple of Democrats have come across, but
- 14:37Speaker 3: there are still five short, so they need five more
- 14:40Speaker 3: Democrats to make this happen. All we're talking about is
- 14:43Speaker 3: a continuing resolution, not a spending plan. The continuing resolution
- 14:48Speaker 3: would simply continue the spending plan passed last year. That
- 14:52Speaker 3: was Biden's spending plan passed by Democrats. And all the
- 14:56Speaker 3: Republicans are asking is you continue it for four more weeks,
- 14:59Speaker 3: But the Democrats don't want to do it. Chuck Schuma
- 15:01Speaker 3: got to put my glasses at the tip of my
- 15:03Speaker 3: nose when I say his name to get in the mood.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Chuck Schuma is saying that no, we will not budge. Okay,
- 15:10Speaker 3: Now tomorrow you will have forty two million Americans not
- 15:13Speaker 3: receiving snap benefits, so no food stamps. People are going
- 15:16Speaker 3: to rely on soup kitchens and whatnot, thanks to the Democrats.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Because every Republican, I think one, only one Republican in
- 15:24Speaker 3: the Senate is not voting for this. Everyone else has
- 15:26Speaker 3: voted for this. So it's the Democrats. This is the
- 15:29Speaker 3: Democrat government shutdown, the Schumer shutdown. Don't let them tell
- 15:33Speaker 3: you otherwise, because every Republican is trying to reopen the
- 15:36Speaker 3: government right now. Even CNN is showing that Americans believe
- 15:40Speaker 3: this is the fault of the Democrats. President Trump's approval
- 15:43Speaker 3: writing has actually gone up a point since the government
- 15:46Speaker 3: shutdown has taken place. Seven ten wo R the Voice
- 15:50Speaker 3: of New York. Mark has the day off. Kendras outa
- 15:52Speaker 3: filling in. We'll take your calls next one to eight
- 15:55Speaker 3: hundred three two one zero seven ten partly sunny today,
- 15:59Speaker 3: hihs mid fifty, just windy, make sure you bundle up
- 16:02Speaker 3: tonight for the trigger treating and just a bit we'll
- 16:04Speaker 3: speak with New Jersey Republican State Senator Michael testa about
- 16:07Speaker 3: the federal Schumer Democrat government shutdown on the fact that's
- 16:11Speaker 3: starting tomorrow, we'll have eight hundred thousand New Jersey Snap
- 16:14Speaker 3: recipients not getting their SNAP benefits. So that is a
- 16:18Speaker 3: horrible thing. We hope this can get resolve soon the
- 16:20Speaker 3: time now ten twenty two, will be right back.
- 16:23Speaker 1: This is the Mark Simone Show on seven to ten
- 16:26Speaker 1: WI Ken Today, Here's Ken Rosatto.
- 16:30Speaker 2: And good to be with you. And go to the
- 16:32Speaker 2: phones right now, Jay, good morning, you're on the air.
- 16:35Speaker 12: Good morning, Ken, How are you?
- 16:36Speaker 2: I'm good? Thank you good.
- 16:38Speaker 12: I just are illustrious Governor Murphy's press police regarding.
- 16:46Speaker 3: You know what, are you gonna repeat yourself because my
- 16:48Speaker 3: headphones have a short. Please say that one more time, Jay,
- 16:51Speaker 3: Now I got them.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Midge.
- 16:53Speaker 12: I just wonder please that New Jersey's Governor Murphy put
- 16:57Speaker 12: out regarding the Snap benefits.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Yes, you know what I didn't see. Did you just
- 17:01Speaker 3: put out a new press release?
- 17:02Speaker 12: Now ate, yes, look at that Trump administration's failure to
- 17:08Speaker 12: on Snap.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Oh, of course it's the Trump administration. So you have
- 17:11Speaker 3: like three hundred and fifty four hundred Republicans supporting a
- 17:15Speaker 3: continuing resolution. A Democrat spending plan that was passed a
- 17:19Speaker 3: year ago, that was under the Biden administration. That was
- 17:22Speaker 3: perfectly fine for them then, but now we will want
- 17:26Speaker 3: to extend it four weeks. That's it, so that we
- 17:29Speaker 3: can keep the government open, give people the snap benefits,
- 17:32Speaker 3: and then work on a new spending plan for the
- 17:34Speaker 3: next year. They won't give us five more votes. And
- 17:38Speaker 3: yet somehow it's Trump's failure. Yeah, that's right, Well it
- 17:41Speaker 3: makes total sense. You know what, the American people are
- 17:44Speaker 3: calling it bs a merchant and nobody has just heard
- 17:47Speaker 3: you say that he's the least effective governor I think
- 17:51Speaker 3: we've ever had in New Jersey. It's a joke and
- 17:54Speaker 3: glad to see him go audio. So you notice you
- 17:56Speaker 3: notice that Mikey Cheryl thinks so little of him that
- 17:59Speaker 3: he's not caming painting with her. Jay, thank you so much,
- 18:02Speaker 3: appreciate the call. We go to Steve in Manhattan. Good morning.
- 18:08Speaker 13: Ste right there, Ked and you are we belong on
- 18:12Speaker 13: the airwaves. And remember this year, this year we have
- 18:16Speaker 13: two halloweens. We have one today and we also have
- 18:20Speaker 13: one on November fourth. I just want to remind people
- 18:24Speaker 13: Ken this is important that we have to get out
- 18:27Speaker 13: because there's other people on the ballot and the ballot
- 18:30Speaker 13: initiatives in New York City one through six, ballance two
- 18:35Speaker 13: three and four. Folks, everyone's putting a big no there
- 18:38Speaker 13: that takes away your power in your neighborhood, your community,
- 18:42Speaker 13: to stop developers from going in there and doing.
- 18:44Speaker 14: Whatever they want. All the power will go to the mayor.
- 18:47Speaker 14: Pitch a man, Danny. With this power, he'll put homeless
- 18:50Speaker 14: shelters in your neighborhood. He'll put housing projects. And if
- 18:53Speaker 14: you don't own a home or a condo, it still
- 18:55Speaker 14: affects you. You're renting. You might have a nice neighborhood
- 18:58Speaker 14: in the South Shore State and I go to the
- 19:01Speaker 14: housing project next door to you. No on two, three
- 19:03Speaker 14: and four proposals, folks, Let's not get caught up and
- 19:06Speaker 14: all the things, because we have there's seven council members
- 19:11Speaker 14: or Republicans. A couple of those late races were real close. Yes,
- 19:14Speaker 14: so I'm throwing my cards run at the table.
- 19:17Speaker 15: Steve.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I know you're right, and I'm with you because and look,
- 19:19Speaker 3: I love Curtis. I pray every day for the miracle.
- 19:22Speaker 3: I can't vote in New York. I live in New Jersey,
- 19:24Speaker 3: but I pray for him. You know it's the truth.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Too many people just vote for the top office and
- 19:28Speaker 3: walk out. You gotta go down the ballot and take
- 19:31Speaker 3: a minute and study the baut You can go online
- 19:33Speaker 3: and get the ballots. They sent you sample ballots in
- 19:35Speaker 3: the mail. Sit down, read the ballots over the weekend.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Make sure you know exactly what you're gonna do when
- 19:40Speaker 3: you get in the voting booth. Don't look at the
- 19:42Speaker 3: at the proposals. First thing. When you walk in the booth,
- 19:45Speaker 3: know in advance what you're going to be voting for.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I'm with you.
- 19:48Speaker 3: We go to Jerry and New Jersey. Good morning to you,
- 19:51Speaker 3: Good morning Ken.
- 19:53Speaker 16: I believe the Democrats purposely keeping the government clothes until
- 19:57Speaker 16: after the election. I agree, so they can get some
- 20:00Speaker 16: I asked into the New Jersey election, Virginia.
- 20:02Speaker 5: And New York.
- 20:03Speaker 3: I think you're one hundred percent right. I guarantee you're right.
- 20:06Speaker 3: If I'm sorry to step on you, Jerry, I bet
- 20:08Speaker 3: you by Thursday you'll see that they'll somehow come up
- 20:11Speaker 3: with the extra votes in the Senate. And that's why
- 20:14Speaker 3: the idea. I know President Trump is saying go nuclear.
- 20:17Speaker 3: I don't know about that, because once you go nuclear,
- 20:19Speaker 3: that's it. Once you've let the cat out of the bag,
- 20:21Speaker 3: that's it exactly.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I'm with you.
- 20:23Speaker 3: And then if you remember, if we becoming the minority
- 20:26Speaker 3: in the Senate, then we have no say against the Democrats.
- 20:28Speaker 3: So I don't know that that's such a great idea,
- 20:30Speaker 3: but I'm with you very much, Jerry. I appreciate it.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Have a great day and happy Halloween. And we go
- 20:35Speaker 3: to Vincent and Brooklyn.
- 20:36Speaker 2: My friend, how are you, good morning?
- 20:38Speaker 15: Ken? I'm fine. Ken. You're right on the money when
- 20:41Speaker 15: you talk about all the rules and regulations that homeowners
- 20:46Speaker 15: have to comply with in the state of New York
- 20:49Speaker 15: and in the City of New York. Can any rent increase?
- 20:53Speaker 15: I gave my tenants because every year my taxes on
- 20:57Speaker 15: my houses keep going up. This year was offset by
- 21:02Speaker 15: a new one. Now the city council made a law.
- 21:06Speaker 15: I have to have an EPA certified lead inspector come
- 21:13Speaker 15: in each apartment to inspect it for lead fumes that
- 21:18Speaker 15: maybe leftover from one hundred years ago. First off, nobody
- 21:24Speaker 15: uses lead based paint anymore. The only place where and
- 21:29Speaker 15: I used to work at a steel factory almost sixty
- 21:32Speaker 15: years ago. We used to I used to fabricate fuel
- 21:36Speaker 15: tanks for buildings, gas stations and for home heating oil.
- 21:41Speaker 15: And the red paint on there is what's called red oxide.
- 21:46Speaker 15: That's the only place it was used. And then you
- 21:49Speaker 15: would paint over it. So now, despite the fact that
- 21:53Speaker 15: the lead paint becomes innocuous when you paint over it,
- 21:58Speaker 15: in the past, I could self certify, especially in the
- 22:02Speaker 15: case of my homes, all the walls were ripped out,
- 22:06Speaker 15: the houses were renovated many times in the last hundred years,
- 22:11Speaker 15: and in the past I could certify that there were
- 22:14Speaker 15: no children under six years old in the apartment, that
- 22:18Speaker 15: there's no kids eating led paintships, where are the mother
- 22:23Speaker 15: or father looking at these kids in the ghetto?
- 22:25Speaker 3: And that just wait until you have a communist mayor
- 22:28Speaker 3: in this I'm sorry, democratic socialist mayor in this city.
- 22:32Speaker 3: You'll have if you think the regulations are bad, Now
- 22:35Speaker 3: forget about it.
- 22:36Speaker 2: It's got crazy.
- 22:37Speaker 15: And on Mark Simone's advice, my girlfriend and I are
- 22:41Speaker 15: already looking at a second home in Fairfield, Connecticut.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Hey, listen, come over to Jersey. If we get Chitarelli
- 22:48Speaker 3: in come and live with us in Jersey. It's a
- 22:50Speaker 3: good place.
- 22:51Speaker 15: Okay, I'm gonna teach you some Italian. It's not Chitarelli.
- 22:54Speaker 15: It's chatty.
- 22:58Speaker 2: This discussion.
- 23:01Speaker 15: Yes, it calls sauce gravy.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Well, think about it in terms of sugo. That's what
- 23:08Speaker 2: it is. Sugo.
- 23:09Speaker 3: All right, Vincent, I love you, brother, God bless you.
- 23:11Speaker 3: I have a good Halloween, good weekend. Seven ten wr
- 23:14Speaker 3: the time ten thirty four, and a little later we'll
- 23:16Speaker 3: speak with New Jersey Republican state Senator Michael Testa about
- 23:19Speaker 3: the Schumer Democrat government shutdown and starting tomorrow, eight hundred
- 23:23Speaker 3: thousand New Jersey residents who depend on Snap to eat
- 23:26Speaker 3: will not be getting their funds.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Now more of the Marximone show on seven ten wor
- 23:33Speaker 1: filling in for Mark.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Here again is Ken Rosatto.
- 23:36Speaker 3: And it is a Friday morning. It is Halloween.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Are you dressing up? Are you going out?
- 23:40Speaker 10: At?
- 23:40Speaker 4: What age?
- 23:42Speaker 2: Is it too old to go out?
- 23:44Speaker 3: You know that Halloween actually has its date going back
- 23:48Speaker 3: to the eighth century, and it was adults who dressed
- 23:51Speaker 3: up for Halloween. It was a religious holiday. Just give
- 23:53Speaker 3: me a little son you could chat about. No, it
- 23:55Speaker 3: was not a pagan holiday. It was similar to Sowen
- 23:58Speaker 3: but it's not a pagan holiday. It's actually a Christian holiday.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Mark is off today, Ken Rozotto in New Jersey, Republican
- 24:06Speaker 3: state Senator Michael Testa is here to talk about the
- 24:09Speaker 3: federal Schumer Democrat government shut down on the fact that's
- 24:12Speaker 3: starting tomorrow's SNAP benefits will not go out to eight
- 24:15Speaker 3: hundred thousand New Jersey residents. We say good morning to Senator.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Good morning. It's good to be back with you. And look,
- 24:22Speaker 5: I think for Halloween, I heard what you were saying earlier.
- 24:27Speaker 5: When I grew up. You know, I was a child
- 24:29Speaker 5: of the eighties. When you were about twelve thirteen, you
- 24:31Speaker 5: were supposed to stop trick or treating, that's for sure.
- 24:33Speaker 5: And I can tell you at my house, I see
- 24:36Speaker 5: some kids who are you know, probably able to drink
- 24:39Speaker 5: alcoholic beverages legally, who are still, you know, walking around
- 24:42Speaker 5: my neighborhood asking for candy. I don't necessarily love that idea.
- 24:46Speaker 5: I'm happy that they get in the spirit, and I'm
- 24:48Speaker 5: glad that you pointed out that All Hallows Eve is
- 24:52Speaker 5: not a pagan holiday, right, believe it or not.
- 24:54Speaker 3: I mean, the term hollows refers to the Saints because
- 24:57Speaker 3: tomorrow is All Saints' Day, so All Hollows Eve is
- 25:01Speaker 3: the eve before All Hollows which was All Saints Day.
- 25:04Speaker 3: That's where it started eighth century and it was a
- 25:05Speaker 3: way of honoring the saints in the church. But a
- 25:07Speaker 3: lot of people today it's been co opted and people, oh,
- 25:09Speaker 3: it's a pagan holiday.
- 25:11Speaker 2: No, it wasn't. So that's why we dressed up.
- 25:13Speaker 3: It was you dressed up like a saint, or you're
- 25:15Speaker 3: dressed up like a skeleton to remind you of your mortality.
- 25:18Speaker 3: But anyway, I digress. We should talk about the Let's
- 25:21Speaker 3: talk about the Snap situation. Eight hundred thousand New Jersey
- 25:25Speaker 3: residents who depend on Snap to eat. As of tomorrow,
- 25:28Speaker 3: the benefits are cut off. And that's all because five
- 25:30Speaker 3: Democrats in the US Senate will not shift ranks and
- 25:34Speaker 3: vote with Republicans.
- 25:35Speaker 2: This is awful.
- 25:38Speaker 5: Look, they're using needy people as pawns. And let's also
- 25:43Speaker 5: take note of the fact that we have air traffic
- 25:47Speaker 5: controllers right now at large airports like Newark Airport who
- 25:51Speaker 5: are not being paid, working multiple shifts. From what I'm told,
- 25:56Speaker 5: they're getting paychecks that literally say zero on them given them,
- 26:00Speaker 5: but they say zero. I don't know if that's one
- 26:03Speaker 5: hundred percent true or not, but that's the rumor that
- 26:05Speaker 5: I've heard. This shutdown is one hundred percent due to
- 26:10Speaker 5: the Democrats. It has nothing to do with President Trump.
- 26:14Speaker 5: And it amazes me how supposed legitimate news sources are
- 26:19Speaker 5: trying to put the blame on the Republicans, trying to
- 26:22Speaker 5: put the blame on President Trump. And they use the line, well,
- 26:26Speaker 5: you have control of the White House, the Senate, and
- 26:30Speaker 5: the Congress. And I say, you know what's really sad
- 26:33Speaker 5: about that? You folks don't even have the intellectual honesty
- 26:37Speaker 5: to say that it takes sixty votes in the Senate
- 26:41Speaker 5: to overcome the filibuster, which the Democrats have rejected thirteen times.
- 26:46Speaker 5: They have voted no thirteen times. And make no mistake,
- 26:50Speaker 5: Andy Kim and Corey Booker, the US senators from the
- 26:53Speaker 5: state of New Jersey, have voted no each and every time.
- 26:56Speaker 5: If people are missing out on benefits, blame them.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Just to remind everyone, we're listening to New Jersey Republican
- 27:03Speaker 3: state Senator Michael Testa. This is Ken Rosotto in for
- 27:05Speaker 3: Mark Simone today on your Friday Halloween, and this is
- 27:09Speaker 3: what is sad we don't know if they're truly stupid,
- 27:13Speaker 3: and I think in many cases they just ignorant. Some
- 27:15Speaker 3: of the younger reporters don't get it, they really don't,
- 27:18Speaker 3: or if they're just being disingenuous.
- 27:20Speaker 2: They know.
- 27:20Speaker 3: But it doesn't fit the narrative to say that it's
- 27:23Speaker 3: the fault of five Democrats. Listen, whenever we had, and
- 27:27Speaker 3: we had many times in history, Democrats in charge and
- 27:30Speaker 3: there was a handful of Republicans holding things up, all
- 27:33Speaker 3: of the Democrats and mainstream media blamed the Republicans. It
- 27:36Speaker 3: was the Republican shutdown, the Republican shutdown, and we took
- 27:39Speaker 3: a hit for it on the Republican side. You can't
- 27:41Speaker 3: have it the opposite way. You can't say, now that
- 27:44Speaker 3: the Democrats are in the minority and the Republicans have
- 27:46Speaker 3: the majority, that the five votes we need in the Senate,
- 27:49Speaker 3: that it's still the Republican's fault. How could it be
- 27:51Speaker 3: the Republican's fault both ways?
- 27:55Speaker 5: Well, that just goes to show you how biased the
- 27:57Speaker 5: media has been. And thank God for people like you
- 28:00Speaker 5: who are actually intellectually honest and not intellectually disingenuous as
- 28:04Speaker 5: so many members of the media have been, including where
- 28:07Speaker 5: we saw it probably at its worst during the COVID shutdowns.
- 28:12Speaker 5: But we don't need to get to that. Look, I
- 28:13Speaker 5: released a statement that really put the blame where it
- 28:18Speaker 5: belongs in the lapse of the Democrats in Washington. I
- 28:21Speaker 5: called on Governor Murphy and I'm glad that he I
- 28:24Speaker 5: don't know if he directly responded to my release, but
- 28:27Speaker 5: I'm really happy to see Governor Murphy and the majority
- 28:30Speaker 5: Senate President's Katarian Assembly Speaker Coughlan announce an accelerated delivery
- 28:35Speaker 5: of forty two point five million dollars in food and
- 28:37Speaker 5: hunger grants. Because I can tell you I represent Cumberland
- 28:40Speaker 5: County and Cumberland County is one of the two poorest
- 28:43Speaker 5: counties in the state of New Jersey, with families that
- 28:46Speaker 5: desperately need food, they desperately need distance, and this will
- 28:52Speaker 5: go a long way to do that. So this is
- 28:54Speaker 5: one area where I will say that Governor Murphy, Senate
- 28:57Speaker 5: President's Katari, and Assembly Speaker Coughland have acted. Of course,
- 29:01Speaker 5: what did they do though? They blamed the Republicans in
- 29:04Speaker 5: Washington as well, instead of just accepting it and saying,
- 29:07Speaker 5: you know what, what's going on? In Washington is ridiculous.
- 29:10Speaker 5: They could have kept it neutral, but no, what did
- 29:12Speaker 5: they do. They blamed the Republicans in Washington. So yet
- 29:16Speaker 5: more of the spin that is just completely false.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Well, the biggest, the biggest joke, Senator, is that this
- 29:23Speaker 3: is not a budget plan. This is only a continuation
- 29:26Speaker 3: of last year's budget plan, which all the Democrats voted
- 29:29Speaker 3: for to approve. So it was good enough a year
- 29:31Speaker 3: ago when Biden was president, but it's suddenly not good
- 29:34Speaker 3: enough for one more month so that they could get
- 29:36Speaker 3: back open the government again and vote on a new
- 29:38Speaker 3: spending plan. It's obvious they know that they're not going
- 29:41Speaker 3: to get anything that they want for the new spending plan.
- 29:43Speaker 3: So they're just trying to play like a bunch of kids,
- 29:46Speaker 3: you know, on the playground, taking their ball and their
- 29:48Speaker 3: bat and going home. And they're just being childish and
- 29:51Speaker 3: in the meantime they're making people suffer.
- 29:55Speaker 5: They absolutely are, and very similar to rama manual, Rama manual,
- 29:59Speaker 5: sort of the mass ted if we remember, for Democrat philosophy,
- 30:04Speaker 5: never allow a crisis to go to waste. And the
- 30:08Speaker 5: Democrats in Washington, including United States Senators Corey Booker and
- 30:13Speaker 5: Andy Kim, are not allowing this manufactured crisis to go
- 30:18Speaker 5: to waste.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Well, according to CNN, right now, the American people are
- 30:21Speaker 3: blaming the Democrats for it. In fact, President Trump's approval
- 30:24Speaker 3: rating has gone up a point since the government shut down.
- 30:27Speaker 3: So and in spite of that fact, President Trump's saying
- 30:29Speaker 3: we have to end it.
- 30:30Speaker 2: He could.
- 30:30Speaker 3: The way it's going, he could keep the shutdown going
- 30:32Speaker 3: two more months. His approval rating will keep going up.
- 30:35Speaker 3: He's saying, no, end it now, just go nuclear, get
- 30:39Speaker 3: fifty one votes instead of sixty, change the rules of
- 30:42Speaker 3: the Senate and make it happen. The problem is once
- 30:44Speaker 3: you go nuclear, once, that's that, and we don't want
- 30:46Speaker 3: to We don't want to ruin that rule, all right.
- 30:48Speaker 3: State Senator New Jersey Michael Testa, always a pleasure talking
- 30:53Speaker 3: to you. Fingers crossed at this stops because real people
- 30:56Speaker 3: are really going to suffer, and we hope the Democrats
- 30:59Speaker 3: come around. We appreciate you coming on today.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Happy Halloween, Happy Halloween.
- 31:03Speaker 5: Thank you so much for.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Having me, you bet, thank you.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Mostly Sunday a little drier today, his it's going to
- 31:09Speaker 3: be probably mid fifties but very windy, so make sure
- 31:12Speaker 3: you bundle the kids up. It's Ken Roseotto win from
- 31:15Speaker 3: Mark on your Halloween Friday seven ten wo R. We're
- 31:18Speaker 3: coming right back.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Now more of the Mark Simone Show on seven ten
- 31:23Speaker 1: wor filling in for Mark.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Here again is Ken Rosatto.
- 31:27Speaker 17: Good to be here on your Friday Halloween seven ten
- 31:30Speaker 17: wor is the voice of New York Film Lines Opened
- 31:33Speaker 17: one eight hundred three two one zero seven ten We
- 31:36Speaker 17: go to Jan in Asbury Park.
- 31:38Speaker 18: Good morning, Hi, Ken, Thanks for pointing out about how
- 31:43Speaker 18: Halloween is a religious holiday and I like that you
- 31:46Speaker 18: pointed out how it shows good and evil, and I
- 31:50Speaker 18: was thinking of the opposites of good and evil that
- 31:53Speaker 18: happened that we should look at. That was an interesting point.
- 31:56Speaker 18: I don't think a lot of people knew what you shared.
- 31:58Speaker 18: That people us up like saints and then people dressed
- 32:02Speaker 18: up like skeletons that showed the good and evil. Yep,
- 32:04Speaker 18: that's exactly, And how the opposite of the good and
- 32:07Speaker 18: evil are that would represent what you're talking about, Like
- 32:11Speaker 18: Jesus gave his life his blood for us, and then
- 32:14Speaker 18: vampires sucked the blood.
- 32:16Speaker 16: Out of us.
- 32:17Speaker 18: Yeah, and Jesus died for us so that we could
- 32:20Speaker 18: live forever in eternity. In the best way. And then
- 32:24Speaker 18: people go around like zombies and vampires, walking like the
- 32:29Speaker 18: walking dead instead of the walking that lived. And just
- 32:32Speaker 18: another thing I thought about is that you know, children
- 32:34Speaker 18: go around and they get candy and they get get
- 32:39Speaker 18: and that's okay, you give because people are still giving.
- 32:42Speaker 3: But all right, Jen, I don't mean to cut you
- 32:44Speaker 3: off with at the top of the hoar with news,
- 32:45Speaker 3: but all good messages and we appreciate the call. Partly
- 32:48Speaker 3: sunny today heismid fifties. Ken Risotto went from Mark Halloween Friday.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Coming up later in the show, we talked with Republican
- 32:54Speaker 3: New York City Councilwoman Joanne Ariola seven wo.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Right now, Mark Simone show on seven ten woor filling
- 33:04Speaker 1: in for Mark.
- 33:04Speaker 4: Here's Ken Rosatto, Billy.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Really nice to be here Halloween. Happy Halloween to you.
- 33:10Speaker 14: Mark.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Is a nice long weekend. You may remember me from
- 33:14Speaker 3: all the years I've been on New York City TV
- 33:16Speaker 3: and was the morning news anchor morning and midday in
- 33:18Speaker 3: fact for a bunch of those years at Channel seven,
- 33:21Speaker 3: I was there twenty years. I was also the morning
- 33:24Speaker 3: anchor for a year at the Channel five.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I was there at good Day.
- 33:28Speaker 3: I did that back in two thousand and two to
- 33:30Speaker 3: two thousand and three, if I recall, and these days,
- 33:33Speaker 3: I host a daily show on a New Jersey based
- 33:35Speaker 3: news channel. It's called on New Jersey. You could stream
- 33:38Speaker 3: it live or watch it rerun at o NNJ dot com.
- 33:43Speaker 3: And a food site for you foodies. It's the Food Dude.
- 33:46Speaker 2: It's free.
- 33:47Speaker 3: It has lots of recipes on there if you want
- 33:49Speaker 3: to think of something to cook on the weekend or
- 33:51Speaker 3: on a weeknight. Thefood Dude dot us. The food Dude
- 33:55Speaker 3: dot us. Good to be here. We got so much happening,
- 33:59Speaker 3: busy busy. Phone lines are open at eight hundred three
- 34:02Speaker 3: two one zero seven ten, eight hundred three to two
- 34:06Speaker 3: one zero seven ten. Well, we just heard during the
- 34:09Speaker 3: news a massive flooding. Did you see that weather yesterday?
- 34:12Speaker 2: Man?
- 34:13Speaker 3: I mean we heard about it. We got the heads
- 34:15Speaker 3: up that it was coming. But man, until it comes,
- 34:19Speaker 3: you don't think it's going to be as bad as
- 34:20Speaker 3: it was. The high winds in that heavy rain one
- 34:22Speaker 3: to three inches of rain in New York left some
- 34:24Speaker 3: parts of the low lying areas Brooklyn, especially under a
- 34:29Speaker 3: feet of water. And as we heard so far that
- 34:32Speaker 3: we know of, we have two people who died unfortunately
- 34:35Speaker 3: in that flash flooding.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Just awful, awful.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Just remember, especially if you live in a basement apartment,
- 34:41Speaker 3: whenever you have a big storm headed our way, please
- 34:44Speaker 3: stay upstairs. If you live upstairs and there's a basement apartment,
- 34:47Speaker 3: invite your neighbors to come up and spend the afternoon
- 34:50Speaker 3: or whatever with you, or the evening if there's a
- 34:53Speaker 3: big storm. And of course, don't drive into or onto
- 34:57Speaker 3: a street if you don't know how deep the water is.
- 35:00Speaker 3: They say, turnaround, don't drown. All you need is like
- 35:02Speaker 3: six inches or four inches of water whatever. You could
- 35:04Speaker 3: lose control of your car, So don't take that risk.
- 35:08Speaker 3: And then of course there's that awful news that happened
- 35:10Speaker 3: down in the islands in Jamaica, Hurricane Melissa. So far
- 35:14Speaker 3: we know fifty nine debts. It was just disgusting, how
- 35:18Speaker 3: horrible those poor people struggling. And there was one mother
- 35:21Speaker 3: who was talking about how she tried to comfort her kids.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Listen up, who's the candidate on Let's see where did
- 35:30Speaker 3: I I just did something to that sound bite. I'm sorry,
- 35:33Speaker 3: but this mother talked about how she's trying to comfort
- 35:37Speaker 3: her child or her children. But it's hard to do that,
- 35:40Speaker 3: as she says it, with all the debt destruction around her,
- 35:44Speaker 3: having lost friends and friends having lost homes as well,
- 35:48Speaker 3: And imagine then having to be the tough person and
- 35:52Speaker 3: be strong for your child. But with fifty nine people
- 35:56Speaker 3: that we know have so far lost in Jamaica, that
- 35:58Speaker 3: number is going to go up, I think, sad as
- 36:00Speaker 3: they find more bodies in remote areas. It is now
- 36:04Speaker 3: coming up on ten minutes after eleven o'clock on your
- 36:06Speaker 3: Friday Halloween. The mayor's race continues to tighten. But is
- 36:10Speaker 3: it too little, too late? Well, here were the three
- 36:14Speaker 3: candidates at the recent debate.
- 36:17Speaker 4: Who's the candidate on the left that can somehow derail him?
- 36:20Speaker 12: Because I don't see anybody with a national presidence that
- 36:22Speaker 12: can pull that off.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Where are you on that?
- 36:25Speaker 11: I see somebody right here in my zoom camera, and
- 36:27Speaker 11: by the way, only for you zoom. I hate zoom,
- 36:30Speaker 11: but for you. But where's the stephen A. Smith presidential bubble?
- 36:37Speaker 2: I'd have to give too much money. Bill, I'd have
- 36:39Speaker 2: to give up too much money.
- 36:40Speaker 11: The Democrats definitely need an outside here.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that was obviously stephen A.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Smith and Bill Maher talking about the candidates, and here
- 36:47Speaker 3: were the candidates of the debate.
- 36:48Speaker 6: I am the last person on this stage that mister
- 36:53Speaker 6: Trump wants to see as mayor.
- 36:56Speaker 7: I am Donald Trump's worst nightmare, as a progressive Muslim
- 36:59Speaker 7: immigrant who actually fights for the things that I believe in.
- 37:02Speaker 8: Oh, if you believe Andrew Cuomo, who's calling up Trump
- 37:05Speaker 8: all the time, I'm going to stand up to him, Damie,
- 37:08Speaker 8: I'm going to stand up to him. He stand up
- 37:10Speaker 8: to President Trump, who controls all the money. Guess what
- 37:13Speaker 8: we the citizens lose.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Well, this morning we had Andrew Cuomo in. He was
- 37:17Speaker 3: on MENTI in the morning and we was talking about,
- 37:20Speaker 3: among other things, the infusion of cash that former mayor
- 37:23Speaker 3: Michael Bloomberg had donated through a political action committee.
- 37:26Speaker 2: But it looks like it might be just too little,
- 37:28Speaker 2: too late, because we've got three polls.
- 37:31Speaker 3: If you saw these polls that came out in the
- 37:32Speaker 3: last week, and the closest pole has Cuomo. Though he improved,
- 37:37Speaker 3: he's still ten points behind Zoron Mamdani. The amazing thing
- 37:42Speaker 3: is people are buying Mamdanni's lines. Will they revolt in
- 37:48Speaker 3: six months or a year when they find out that
- 37:50Speaker 3: everything he promised literally down to the item is impossible.
- 37:55Speaker 3: He can't do He doesn't have the authority as mayor
- 37:57Speaker 3: to do any of the things he's talking about. He
- 37:59Speaker 3: can't free the rent, he can't give you free food,
- 38:02Speaker 3: he can't all the things he's talking about. Sound like
- 38:05Speaker 3: a wonderful communist fantasy, but it can't happen. It doesn't
- 38:11Speaker 3: happen that way. In fact, the one experiment where there
- 38:15Speaker 3: was a community supermarket in Kansas City failed miserably. In
- 38:19Speaker 3: spite of the millions upon millions of dollars infused by
- 38:22Speaker 3: the state, it failed miserably. They had to shut it down.
- 38:25Speaker 3: It was a disgrace. It became basically a den of crime.
- 38:29Speaker 3: People went there to shoot up drugs. They stole items.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Because you're supposed to sign out items and be a
- 38:34Speaker 3: looted a certain amount. They weren't following the rules. It
- 38:37Speaker 3: was a disgusting breakdown of humanity. And if you think
- 38:40Speaker 3: it's going to be better here, I'm scratching my head
- 38:44Speaker 3: to wonder where you're coming from. Switching over to New Jersey.
- 38:48Speaker 3: New Jersey is interesting right now. And I should remind
- 38:51Speaker 3: everybody you're listening to seven to ten woar the voice
- 38:55Speaker 3: of New York, it's Ken Rosatto win from Mark on
- 38:57Speaker 3: Halloween Friday, and those phone lines are open three to two,
- 39:00Speaker 3: one zero, seven to ten. In New Jersey it's Chitdarelli
- 39:04Speaker 3: and Mikey Cheryl and right now all the new polls,
- 39:08Speaker 3: and they were two done two days apart, so I
- 39:10Speaker 3: guess one was done on Tuesday and I believe one
- 39:12Speaker 3: was done on Thursday. In both cases they have Mikey
- 39:17Speaker 3: Cheryl one point ahead of Jack Cheddarelli, but the margin
- 39:23Speaker 3: vera is three points, so that means that Jack Chitdarelli
- 39:27Speaker 3: could be two points up at this point, depending on
- 39:29Speaker 3: how you look at it. The bottom line is the
- 39:32Speaker 3: energy this man has right now and the support behind
- 39:34Speaker 3: him I'm seeing. I live in New Jersey. I see
- 39:37Speaker 3: Chittarelli signs everywhere. I'd say for every ten Chittarelli signs,
- 39:41Speaker 3: I'm seeing one Mikey Cheryl sign. And last night Chittarelli
- 39:44Speaker 3: was on. There was a town hall that Fox News
- 39:47Speaker 3: had with Sean Hannity. Listen to the response he got
- 39:51Speaker 3: from the crowd as he walked in.
- 39:53Speaker 19: Let's go maybe hometown crowd, hometown crowd.
- 40:11Speaker 11: It it just became a Trump.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Rally, or, as Jack Chitdarelli followed up with, it became
- 40:16Speaker 3: a Chitarelli rally, because that's what Chitdarelli is finding everywhere
- 40:19Speaker 3: he goes throughout the state. It starts out with a
- 40:21Speaker 3: few hundred people, it quickly grows to a few thousand people,
- 40:24Speaker 3: people cheering him on, people coming up to him. He
- 40:26Speaker 3: has four Democrats in the state who have either endorsed
- 40:30Speaker 3: him or have shifted parties to the Republican Party and
- 40:33Speaker 3: endorsed him, So this is something the opposite can't be
- 40:37Speaker 3: said for Mikey Cheryl right now. And the fact is
- 40:39Speaker 3: that New Jersey has eight hundred and sixty thousand more
- 40:43Speaker 3: registered Democrats than it does Republicans. So Mikey Cheryl should
- 40:48Speaker 3: be ahead by twenty points right now, fifteen to twenty points,
- 40:52Speaker 3: and she's not. Most of her support is from women
- 40:56Speaker 3: and from younger people. Younger people tend not to vote,
- 41:00Speaker 3: especially in off year elections, by anywhere near the numbers
- 41:03Speaker 3: of as older people, and the older people are supporting
- 41:06Speaker 3: Jack Chitarelli, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.
- 41:09Speaker 3: I recently had a polster on my show that I
- 41:12Speaker 3: do on New Jersey O n NJ dot com and
- 41:15Speaker 3: I do that every day in New Jersey. And the
- 41:17Speaker 3: pollster was saying, how when they survey different people and
- 41:23Speaker 3: they say that they are likely voters and then you
- 41:25Speaker 3: it turns out that half of them who say one
- 41:28Speaker 3: thing obviously doesn't come to pass. And he said that
- 41:31Speaker 3: that means that either they're not being honest or when
- 41:34Speaker 3: they say they're going to be a likely voter, that
- 41:36Speaker 3: they don't realize something's going to come up. So when
- 41:38Speaker 3: you see a poll of likely voters, as much as
- 41:41Speaker 3: it's probably more accurate than someone than a poll of
- 41:44Speaker 3: just registered voters, you know, that doesn't mean they've signed
- 41:48Speaker 3: a contract saying I will vote and this is how
- 41:49Speaker 3: I'm gone to vote, you know, So just just remember that,
- 41:52Speaker 3: keep that in mind. Jack Chitdarelli was talking about the
- 41:55Speaker 3: recent polls.
- 41:56Speaker 9: Our internal poll in twenty one said that we had
- 41:58Speaker 9: a real shot this time. The internal polling says a
- 42:01Speaker 9: whole lot better. But listen, all I could tell is
- 42:03Speaker 9: wherever I go around the state, the energy is electric.
- 42:06Speaker 9: The reception of minority communities has been overwhelming positive. And
- 42:09Speaker 9: when Democratic mayors across the state are endorsing the Republican nominee.
- 42:13Speaker 9: It tells you we're on the side.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Now.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Apparently some of the ballots are a number of the
- 42:19Speaker 3: ballots that have been returned early. All we know is
- 42:21Speaker 3: when we get ballots returned from Democrats or Republicans, we
- 42:24Speaker 3: don't know how the people voted. So for all we know,
- 42:28Speaker 3: people could have registered Republican but voted Democrat. So you
- 42:31Speaker 3: never know when you get the returned polls, the early ballots,
- 42:35Speaker 3: I should say, But nonetheless, here's Jack talking about the
- 42:39Speaker 3: early ballots.
- 42:40Speaker 9: We've seen the greatest number of Republicans returned vote by
- 42:42Speaker 9: mail ballots. That's a very very good sign. They went
- 42:44Speaker 9: out and last third week of September, and we're matching
- 42:47Speaker 9: them voter for voter here in the six days or
- 42:50Speaker 9: five days of early.
- 42:50Speaker 4: Voting that we've had thus far.
- 42:52Speaker 9: That'll conclude on Sunday. Listen, if we go into election
- 42:55Speaker 9: day within a certain number of points, we're going to
- 42:56Speaker 9: win this thing.
- 42:57Speaker 2: And I think he's right.
- 43:01Speaker 3: The fact is that Republicans tend to wait till election day,
- 43:04Speaker 3: Democrats tend to early vote. That's been the pattern for
- 43:07Speaker 3: the last ten to fifteen twenty years. Wherever early voting
- 43:10Speaker 3: has occurred. I remember as a kid, early voting only
- 43:13Speaker 3: existed like one day before election day, and it was
- 43:16Speaker 3: meant for people who had physical challenges or the elderly,
- 43:19Speaker 3: and then that became two or three days. Then it
- 43:21Speaker 3: became anyone who wants to vote early. Then the pandemic
- 43:23Speaker 3: happened and everybody got ballots in the mail, and it
- 43:26Speaker 3: kept changing, so no longer do we have an election day.
- 43:29Speaker 3: The problem with that is you could vote a month early,
- 43:33Speaker 3: a month before election day for somebody, and then between
- 43:36Speaker 3: when you early vote at election day you find out
- 43:38Speaker 3: that the person is a mass murderer, you know, and
- 43:41Speaker 3: then what your vote is cast, and once it's cast,
- 43:43Speaker 3: that's it. You can't go and change it. So this
- 43:45Speaker 3: is the problem I have. I'm sure you probably have
- 43:47Speaker 3: with early voting. But while it exists, take advantage of it.
- 43:51Speaker 3: The Democrats do. Republicans should take advantage of it as well.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Make sure your vote gets in because come election day
- 43:57Speaker 3: anything could happened. Bad weather, you get sick, yeah, I
- 44:00Speaker 3: have to work late, you never know, get that vote
- 44:03Speaker 3: in asap. In New Jersey you can early vote until
- 44:06Speaker 3: Sunday and then if you don't vote by Sunday, you
- 44:09Speaker 3: have to wait because Monday there.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Is no voting.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Then Tuesday you have to vote in person, and that
- 44:14Speaker 3: is election Day. Seven ten WR the Voice of New York.
- 44:18Speaker 3: It is Halloween Friday, and this is Ken Rosotto in
- 44:21Speaker 3: on the Mark Simone Show. Give us a call eight
- 44:23Speaker 3: hundred and three to two one zero seven ten. You
- 44:26Speaker 3: ever get kind of really tired with all the household drudgery,
- 44:30Speaker 3: all the chores around the house. Apparently a company in
- 44:33Speaker 3: California has come up with a robot. Now you're going
- 44:37Speaker 3: to say, Ken, there've been robots. No, they literally are
- 44:40Speaker 3: mass manufacturing a robot that is five foot six right now.
- 44:45Speaker 3: It's a humanoid robot, so it's one of those walking things.
- 44:49Speaker 3: It can talk, it can communicate with you, just like
- 44:52Speaker 3: you know the robots in the movies from years ago.
- 44:55Speaker 3: And this thing is going to cost twenty thousand dollars.
- 44:58Speaker 3: When I first read this, I think either A it's
- 45:01Speaker 3: not going to be out for fifty years, or B
- 45:03Speaker 3: it's going to cost one hundred thousand or more. Now
- 45:05Speaker 3: twenty thousand dollars. And in fact, if you want to
- 45:09Speaker 3: rent it, they have a let.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Me see, let me get the details for you.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Here it says here, if you want to test it
- 45:15Speaker 3: out first, you can use a per month subscription plant.
- 45:18Speaker 3: That's what they're calling it, and that is apparently like
- 45:22Speaker 3: four ninety nine or something like that. So it's almost
- 45:24Speaker 3: like renting a car, testing out a car or something.
- 45:27Speaker 3: And this thing could be trained to do just about anything.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Water plants do the laundry, eventually, probably cook your meal,
- 45:34Speaker 3: clean floors, do whatever, sweep. So how nice would that
- 45:38Speaker 3: be to do all your household chores, especially if you
- 45:41Speaker 3: are physically challenged, or if you're a single person and
- 45:44Speaker 3: you have no one to help you, or if you're
- 45:46Speaker 3: an elderly person and you want some company. Granted, it's
- 45:49Speaker 3: not a human, but nonetheless it is a character walking
- 45:53Speaker 3: around that may make you feel almost like having a pet,
- 45:56Speaker 3: that may make you feel like somebody is with you
- 45:58Speaker 3: to keep your company. Seven to ten Water The Voice
- 46:02Speaker 3: of New York. There was a New Manhattan Institute poll
- 46:04Speaker 3: out that shows that if Congresswoman Elise Stephonic were to
- 46:07Speaker 3: run against Governor.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Coffee Hokel, who talks with the big.
- 46:11Speaker 3: Porcelain veneers, Oh, I said, I would never say that again.
- 46:14Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Kathy Hokel, that if Elise Stephanic were to
- 46:19Speaker 3: run against Kathy Hochl for governor of New York, Stephanic
- 46:22Speaker 3: would beat her by one point. That is significant. New
- 46:26Speaker 3: York City may be blue, the state, though, is not.
- 46:29Speaker 3: The state is purple. You get out of the tri State,
- 46:31Speaker 3: you get up like north of Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, you
- 46:35Speaker 3: see things turn red rather quickly. Poles are just, of course,
- 46:39Speaker 3: a momentary snapshot of opinion, but it shows you that
- 46:41Speaker 3: New York State is very much up for grabs outside
- 46:44Speaker 3: of New York City, and the citizens are fed up
- 46:47Speaker 3: with the status quo. So we'll see what happens with that.
- 46:49Speaker 3: But she's not officially announced that she would run for governor,
- 46:53Speaker 3: but I think at this point if she did announce,
- 46:55Speaker 3: you would see a Republican victory first time in many,
- 46:59Speaker 3: many years in New York. Seven ten wor the Voice

- 47:39Speaker 5: A very good to be.
- 47:40Speaker 3: With you on Halloween Friday. Let's go right to our
- 47:43Speaker 3: busy phones. Carlo in Queen's here on the air.
- 47:45Speaker 10: Good morning to you, Yes, sir, good morning. As for
- 47:48Speaker 10: this socialist Mondamie character who's running for maya, I might
- 47:53Speaker 10: point out that in the nineteen twenties into the early thirties,
- 47:57Speaker 10: Hitler described himself as a Democrat socialist candidate to run Germany.
- 48:02Speaker 13: And.
- 48:04Speaker 10: After World War Two the city of Berlin broke up
- 48:08Speaker 10: into two parts. East Berlin described itself as a socialist state,
- 48:14Speaker 10: a democratic socialist state supported by the Russians of course,
- 48:18Speaker 10: and their economy by nineteen fifty crash, losing a third
- 48:21Speaker 10: of its value. What are we to expect from Mandanami?
- 48:25Speaker 3: Well, you know, it just comes down to everything that
- 48:27Speaker 3: he is promising is not possible. It's just not possible.
- 48:33Speaker 3: But here's the frightening thing. Carlo and I talked about
- 48:35Speaker 3: this earlier. A recent poll showed sixty nine percent of
- 48:41Speaker 3: all adults of all people in New York City age
- 48:45Speaker 3: fifty and under, you hear me fifth, not twenty and under,
- 48:49Speaker 3: not twenty five and under fifty and under, nearly seven
- 48:53Speaker 3: and ten support Mandani.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Do you hear that number?
- 48:56Speaker 5: So?
- 48:57Speaker 3: Where the hell are forty nine year olds who are
- 49:00Speaker 3: so ignorant that they think socialism will work here and
- 49:03Speaker 3: that it as if it worked anywhere else on the planet.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Who are these people and where are they from? And
- 49:10Speaker 3: what kind of education did they have? That's what really
- 49:12Speaker 3: gets me.
- 49:13Speaker 2: What are we paying for?
- 49:14Speaker 3: Are we paying to literally have socialists in teaching positions,
- 49:19Speaker 3: in doctrinating kids in the city, because that's what it
- 49:21Speaker 3: sure as hell looks like.
- 49:23Speaker 10: Joe McCarthy in the fifties wasn't wrong when he said
- 49:26Speaker 10: that the socialist communists are trying to take over America.
- 49:29Speaker 10: It's still going on.
- 49:31Speaker 3: That sure is, as it has been proven, and you
- 49:33Speaker 3: look at every major city in America. You know, you
- 49:37Speaker 3: talk about, God forbid, if there was ever another civil
- 49:41Speaker 3: war like we had in eighteen sixty. God forbid that
- 49:43Speaker 3: ever should happen. But this time out, if it did
- 49:46Speaker 3: ever happen, it wouldn't be North versus South. It looks
- 49:49Speaker 3: like it would be the urban centers, the cities versus
- 49:51Speaker 3: everything outside of the cities, because if you look, all
- 49:54Speaker 3: the cities seem to be of the same mindset, very far.
- 49:57Speaker 2: To the left.
- 49:58Speaker 3: But it's getting even more more extreme than ever before.
- 50:01Speaker 3: I've never seen this kind of disparity between left and right.
- 50:04Speaker 3: It's if the person comes from a larger city, they
- 50:07Speaker 3: are of one political ILK, and if they come from
- 50:09Speaker 3: suburbia or real rural areas, they're a totally different political ILK.
- 50:13Speaker 2: It's just amazing.
- 50:14Speaker 10: Thank God for Trump. That's all I could say.
- 50:16Speaker 3: All Right, Carlo from Queens, I appreciate the call. You
- 50:18Speaker 3: have a wonderful day. Let's say, John in New Jersey, good.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Morning, Good morning, Ken, how are you good sir?
- 50:25Speaker 20: Either way, the city, the residents of New York City
- 50:28Speaker 20: are going to be screwed. It's either it's Cuomo or
- 50:31Speaker 20: or Modamie. They're doom because he's not He was never
- 50:35Speaker 20: a good governor. And of course we know Modami is
- 50:38Speaker 20: nothing more than a pure communist. Yeah, he'll say anything
- 50:41Speaker 20: and everything to get to get elected. He'll promise you utopia,
- 50:45Speaker 20: and what's going to turn out is going to be disaster.
- 50:47Speaker 20: The people of New York have got to wake up
- 50:49Speaker 20: and pay attention. They don't.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Well, you know, I blame my fellow members of the media,
- 50:55Speaker 3: the people here in media whom I used to work with.
- 50:58Speaker 3: The TV stations. They just don't ask him the tough questions.
- 51:01Speaker 3: He's their little pet. They won't, No, they won't, they won't,
- 51:04Speaker 3: And this is where they fail. And this, by the way,
- 51:06Speaker 3: is why they're dying on the vine. Ratings wise, they're dead.
- 51:09Speaker 3: The broadcast TV stations literally have thirty percent of the
- 51:14Speaker 3: audience that they had seven years ago. They're gone. No
- 51:16Speaker 3: one's watching broadcast TV anymore. And if you look at
- 51:19Speaker 3: all the surveys, with one exception, since President Trump was elected,
- 51:23Speaker 3: Republicans now slightly more trust national news than they did
- 51:28Speaker 3: a year ago because all you heard was phoniness and negativity,
- 51:31Speaker 3: fake news, et cetera. But the problem is, as long
- 51:36Speaker 3: as you keep taking sides local media, this is gonna happen.
- 51:39Speaker 3: You're gonna lose your audience. And this is why they
- 51:41Speaker 3: are down so sharply in ratings, and they're they're closing
- 51:44Speaker 3: up shop. You have, you have news. I know a
- 51:46Speaker 3: couple of news outfits in the city that will not
- 51:48Speaker 3: survive the next three years. You'll watch, you'll see consolidation
- 51:51Speaker 3: of newscaps.
- 51:53Speaker 15: Totally agree.
- 51:54Speaker 3: All right, John from New Jersey. I appreciate it. Get it,
- 51:56Speaker 3: get out here and vote for Jack. Absolutely all right,
- 51:59Speaker 3: my friend, have a good day. Happy Halloween. Seven ten
- 52:03Speaker 3: wo r the Voice of New York. It's Ken Rosatto
- 52:05Speaker 3: in for Mark and it is Friday, Halloween and just
- 52:09Speaker 3: a few we're going to speak with Republican New York
- 52:11Speaker 3: City Councilwoman Joeanne Ariola about the race for mayor and
- 52:14Speaker 3: what she thinks, if possible, Mam Donnie Marylty will mean
- 52:17Speaker 3: for New York City.
- 52:18Speaker 1: On sevent ten WI Ken from Mark Today.
- 52:22Speaker 4: Here's Ken Rosatto.
- 52:23Speaker 2: Very good to be with you on your Halloween Friday.
- 52:26Speaker 3: She is a Republican New York City councilwoman representing District
- 52:30Speaker 3: thirty two, which includes Glendale, Wood Haven, OZP Howard Beach,
- 52:34Speaker 3: broad Channel in parts of Rockaway Peninsula Queen's Previously, she
- 52:38Speaker 3: was the chairwoman of the Queen's Republican Party and she's
- 52:41Speaker 3: here to talk about the mayor's race and what a
- 52:43Speaker 3: possible Mamdannie mayoral t would mean to New York City.
- 52:47Speaker 2: We say, good.
- 52:48Speaker 3: Morning, Joe Anne Ariola, welcome to the Mark Simone Show.
- 52:52Speaker 16: Good morning and thank you. It's great to be here.
- 52:54Speaker 2: Good to have you on.
- 52:55Speaker 3: You know, whenever I have the rare Republican Council member out,
- 52:59Speaker 3: I always say, I ask, does do you need like
- 53:01Speaker 3: a giant bottle like the thousand bottle of Toms to
- 53:05Speaker 3: be on your desk to get through your day?
- 53:09Speaker 16: Not at all. I'm used to fighting the good fight,
- 53:12Speaker 16: and I'm the minority leader at the New York City
- 53:14Speaker 16: Council and I work very well with my more moderate
- 53:18Speaker 16: colleagues on the other side of the aisle, and we
- 53:20Speaker 16: have been able to get things done. So, yes, we
- 53:23Speaker 16: have days they are more challenging than others, but most
- 53:26Speaker 16: days we get things done.
- 53:28Speaker 3: But you know, you look at you look at a
- 53:29Speaker 3: Mayor Adams. And as much as Mayor Adams is a
- 53:31Speaker 3: Democrat for sure, but Mayor Adams there because he was
- 53:35Speaker 3: a police captain. There is an adult side of Mayor
- 53:38Speaker 3: Adams who when he did things you kind of trusted
- 53:42Speaker 3: him he was a mayor. When you have a guy
- 53:45Speaker 3: like Zoron Mamdani potentially coming in as mayor, what goes
- 53:49Speaker 3: through your mind as a Republican on the City Council.
- 53:53Speaker 16: Well, I think you make a good comparison. You say
- 53:56Speaker 16: that Mayor Adams, who had government experience, who was a
- 54:01Speaker 16: police officer and came in and is you know, is
- 54:04Speaker 16: quite possibly going to go down as the worst mayor
- 54:07Speaker 16: and with the most corruption in his administration of any
- 54:10Speaker 16: mayor in the history of New York City. And then
- 54:14Speaker 16: you have Zoram Mamdani, who you know, has even less experience.
- 54:19Speaker 16: He's a member of the DSA. He is not a Democrat,
- 54:23Speaker 16: and and it's sorry to say that the Democratic Party
- 54:26Speaker 16: has been devoured by the Democratic Socialists of America. So
- 54:30Speaker 16: I always make the analogy of Mayor Adams is walking
- 54:34Speaker 16: out of City Hall and lighting the match, and if
- 54:37Speaker 16: orm Mamdani should God forbid, win, that New York City
- 54:42Speaker 16: will fall to ashes.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Well, of the promises that Mamdani has made, you know
- 54:47Speaker 3: how many of them could actually be done by the mayor.
- 54:50Speaker 3: I mean, for instance, a rent freeze. He can't freeze
- 54:53Speaker 3: the rent, right, do you have a rank control board
- 54:54Speaker 3: in New York City.
- 54:56Speaker 16: This is all speaking to a demographic that wants everything
- 54:59Speaker 16: for free. So he's telling people what they want to hear.
- 55:02Speaker 16: He doesn't realize. Well he does realize, I'm sure he does.
- 55:05Speaker 16: But people want to say, oh, yes, we can freeze
- 55:07Speaker 16: the rent. No he can't free the rent. We can
- 55:09Speaker 16: give you a free tuition. No he can't give you
- 55:10Speaker 16: free tuition, free, free, free, free, free. And you know,
- 55:13Speaker 16: most younger voters would say, hey, if it's free, it's
- 55:17Speaker 16: for me. But you know, he can't do that. That
- 55:20Speaker 16: has to come from a state, in a federal level.
- 55:22Speaker 16: There's very little that he can do on any of
- 55:24Speaker 16: his policies as a mayor. And that's why I believe
- 55:28Speaker 16: that he just doesn't have the competency to do it.
- 55:30Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, every time you say free, I think
- 55:33Speaker 3: people don't understand that nothing is free. That the reality
- 55:36Speaker 3: is somebody somewhere, somehow has to pay for it, because
- 55:41Speaker 3: in society, somebody has to do the work to produce
- 55:44Speaker 3: the product that you are talking about giving away free,
- 55:47Speaker 3: whether it be freezing the rent. Now we talked about
- 55:50Speaker 3: this earlier. You know, the fact is the city and
- 55:53Speaker 3: the state imposed so many regulations on landlords. You have
- 55:56Speaker 3: to maintain an active heating system, air condition in some cases,
- 56:00Speaker 3: paint has to be done, You get inspected all the time.
- 56:03Speaker 3: You have to have the exterminator in, You have to
- 56:05Speaker 3: have windows replaced. Then you have the case of kids
- 56:09Speaker 3: or some vandal type people in a lot of the
- 56:13Speaker 3: lower income housing that destroy things. You could have an
- 56:17Speaker 3: elevator replaced. I remember when I was a Channel seven
- 56:20Speaker 3: there was one building I went to and the people
- 56:22Speaker 3: were complaining the elevator's broken. And I went there and
- 56:24Speaker 3: there were other residents who came up to me and said, yeah,
- 56:27Speaker 3: the landlord has the elevator fixed every Tuesday, and by Wednesday.
- 56:30Speaker 3: There is such and such who lives in apartments such
- 56:32Speaker 3: and such who intentionally breaks it. So this is the problem.
- 56:35Speaker 3: You can't now tell a landlord, well you got to
- 56:38Speaker 3: freeze the rent, but you still have to come up
- 56:39Speaker 3: with the money for all of this stuff.
- 56:42Speaker 5: Well that's true.
- 56:43Speaker 16: What he's doing is he's giving some type of fantasy.
- 56:46Speaker 16: That's what he's doing, like straight out of Central Casting
- 56:49Speaker 16: and none of the camping done. But no one's thinking
- 56:50Speaker 16: about who are you said it right, Ken, Who are
- 56:53Speaker 16: the economic engines here, your small landlords, your business owners,
- 56:58Speaker 16: your tax payers, your city workers, your people who go
- 57:01Speaker 16: to work in our hospitals, the people who go and
- 57:04Speaker 16: grind it out every day and pay their taxes and
- 57:06Speaker 16: keep this city going. And that's exactly who will leave
- 57:10Speaker 16: if there is a mayor Mom Donnie. And he doesn't
- 57:13Speaker 16: care about that. That's not what his focus is. His
- 57:16Speaker 16: focus is to destroy, destroy the city. He will not
- 57:19Speaker 16: change the bail reform laws, he will not lower the
- 57:22Speaker 16: age will he will not change the discovery laws. And
- 57:28Speaker 16: even Janel Lieber from the MTA said he will not
- 57:31Speaker 16: be able to give free fairs. So even people who
- 57:36Speaker 16: may agree with him on some level of ideology are saying, no,
- 57:41Speaker 16: you can't do that. That's not within your purview. He
- 57:44Speaker 16: should be talking about raising the age so that young
- 57:47Speaker 16: criminals are held accountable. He should be talking about bail
- 57:50Speaker 16: reforms so people can go and have consequences for the
- 57:54Speaker 16: crimes they commit. He should be talking about about bringing
- 57:59Speaker 16: police on instead, he's just dancing around it with his
- 58:04Speaker 16: public safety ambassadors. I don't want a public safety ambassador.
- 58:08Speaker 16: I want a police officer on the street. And we're
- 58:10Speaker 16: not going to get police officers to take the test
- 58:13Speaker 16: and become officers if the reforms that were made stay
- 58:18Speaker 16: in place, and with Mamdani, you will advocate for even
- 58:22Speaker 16: more dismantling of our public safety system.
- 58:25Speaker 3: Seven wo r The Voice of New York. This is
- 58:28Speaker 3: the Marx Simon Show. Ken razattowin from Mark on Halloween Friday,
- 58:31Speaker 3: and with us right now is New York City Republican Councilwoman,
- 58:35Speaker 3: the minority leader of the City Council, Joanne Ariola, who's
- 58:39Speaker 3: from Queens. It's good to have you here again. Let's
- 58:41Speaker 3: talk about one statistic that really frightened me, and that
- 58:45Speaker 3: is that sixty nine percent of all New York City
- 58:49Speaker 3: residents age fifty and under support Mamdanie.
- 58:54Speaker 2: How the hell do we arrive at that?
- 58:56Speaker 3: What is going on in our education system in this city.
- 59:00Speaker 3: That's sixty nine percent of people not under the age
- 59:03Speaker 3: of twenty, not under the age of thirty. Councilwoman, under
- 59:07Speaker 3: the age of fifty. You would think that by the
- 59:09Speaker 3: time you hit forty forty five you were mature enough
- 59:12Speaker 3: to understand things are not free.
- 59:16Speaker 16: You would think so. But you're going to schools, they're
- 59:19Speaker 16: going to colleges, they're going to universities where the instructors,
- 59:22Speaker 16: the professors, the people who are there, the mentors they're indoctrinating,
- 59:27Speaker 16: are young and telling them that you're room. You shouldn't
- 59:31Speaker 16: have to pay your taxes, you shouldn't have to pay
- 59:32Speaker 16: your tuition, you shouldn't have to pay your loan, you
- 59:34Speaker 16: shouldn't have to pay for anything. You shouldn't have to
- 59:36Speaker 16: pay to ride the bus. And I don't know why
- 59:38Speaker 16: because and this is something that was taught to to
- 59:41Speaker 16: mom Donnie from a little child. Both his parents, who
- 59:45Speaker 16: are mega wealthy, you know, reach the free ideology and
- 59:50Speaker 16: this is what he was raised on and that he
- 59:54Speaker 16: can if you can tell me can anywhere that socialism
- 59:57Speaker 16: or communism works that I say, great, But it has
- 1:00:01Speaker 16: never worked. It's always fallen. And we are America and
- 1:00:05Speaker 16: we are a capitalist country, and we thrive on entrepreneurship
- 1:00:10Speaker 16: and people going to school and getting their degrees and
- 1:00:13Speaker 16: paying their taxes. And yes, loans can become very difficult
- 1:00:18Speaker 16: to pay if you become a doctor or a lawyer
- 1:00:21Speaker 16: or a teacher, but that is something that you've chosen
- 1:00:24Speaker 16: to do and there are ways to help you pay that.
- 1:00:27Speaker 16: But free, that's an impossibility. That is that's just a fantasy,
- 1:00:32Speaker 16: and to be able to keep this city going when
- 1:00:36Speaker 16: we can't support our subway system as it is, and
- 1:00:39Speaker 16: people are jumping the fairs all the time anyway, and
- 1:00:41Speaker 16: we're not enforcing that. So you know, in a way,
- 1:00:45Speaker 16: we do have free transit system, but what did that
- 1:00:48Speaker 16: get us? Congestion pricing to make up the difference, and
- 1:00:51Speaker 16: we still.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Haven't made it up.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: We're billions in the hole in spite of that. If
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: you take a look, and I don't mean to step
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: on your counsel woman, if you look at all the
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: free that the fair jumpers, the people who walked on
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: And when I was a Channel seven we had bus drivers.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: There were two who used to call and say, yeah,
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: the mayor will not allow us to do what we
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: used to do. If somebody walked on the bus and
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: didn't pay their fare, bus driver would pull aside and
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: say I'm not moving until you get off, or I'm
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: going to call a cop today, or at that point
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: then the mayor, I guess it was Mayor de Blasier
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: at the time. Mayor de Blasio said, can't do that.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Let them on for free, and so nobody was paying
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: for the bus. So you're right, that was happening. They
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: lost about four hundred million a year in fairs. Well,
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: if you can't keep doing that, what happens after four
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: or five years, you're two billion dollars in the hole,
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: which is exactly what they were.
- 1:01:36Speaker 16: That's exactly right. And even in today's administration, police officers
- 1:01:40Speaker 16: that are in the subway are asked to hands out
- 1:01:42Speaker 16: literature to educate people that they should be paying when
- 1:01:46Speaker 16: they go onto the bush or in the subway. And
- 1:01:49Speaker 16: I really it blows my mind because I think that
- 1:01:52Speaker 16: first our police officers have a lot of better things
- 1:01:54Speaker 16: to do than handout literature. And secondly, everybody knows you
- 1:01:58Speaker 16: have to pay a fare when you go into this
- 1:02:00Speaker 16: or you take a bus, but there's no consequences. And
- 1:02:03Speaker 16: that's what brings me back to mom. Donnie and c
- 1:02:07Speaker 16: Cuomo started this. He started this bell reform, he started
- 1:02:11Speaker 16: no cash list bails, he started raising age. He gave
- 1:02:15Speaker 16: people license to commit crimes without impunity and without consequence.
- 1:02:21Speaker 16: And that's why you can and I have to ring
- 1:02:24Speaker 16: a bell and have a woman come or a man
- 1:02:26Speaker 16: come with a key to give us the dorance. It's
- 1:02:29Speaker 16: just not right. But who's looking for all the shoplifting
- 1:02:32Speaker 16: that's going on. You and I are because we're standing
- 1:02:34Speaker 16: on the line and paying sixty and eighty dollars at
- 1:02:37Speaker 16: the cashier while people who are coming in and a
- 1:02:41Speaker 16: lot of them are our used because there are no
- 1:02:43Speaker 16: consequences filling up a knapsack and running out the door.
- 1:02:47Speaker 16: It's just a vicious cycle that will turn into an
- 1:02:50Speaker 16: absolute chaos if Mom Donnie wins. And that's why I
- 1:02:55Speaker 16: so strongly support Curtis Leewall. He's the only one saying
- 1:02:59Speaker 16: the things that we're talking about at our kitchen tables
- 1:03:02Speaker 16: and what we're afraid of that's going to happen to
- 1:03:05Speaker 16: this city, and what would make us move if the
- 1:03:10Speaker 16: city continues in this particular progress. It just can't go
- 1:03:15Speaker 16: on like this. People are moving that I never thought
- 1:03:18Speaker 16: wouldn like.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: And even getting back to the CVSS and the Walgreens
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: and whatnot, when you know, I've heard people say on
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: the left, well insurance pace for that, no insurance pace
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: for it, once or twice, and then they cancel. People
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: don't realize that they can cancel the individual stores and
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: they have dropped stores and then CBS Walgreens their self
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: insured at that point, which means it comes out of
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: their pocket. You know where they get it from, you
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: and me. Prices go up, so we all pay for
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: it one way or the other. Ah, we could talk
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: about it forever. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Everybody, get
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: out and vote.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: That's the important thing.
- 1:03:51Speaker 16: And out and vote. And if you want to still
- 1:03:53Speaker 16: have a voice with your representatives in city Hall, vote
- 1:03:57Speaker 16: no on the propositions.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Amen.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: New York City Republican Councilwoman Joe Ane Ariola, it's such
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: a pleasure to talk to you.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Thanks for coming on this morning, thame here, pleasure to
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: be here.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: Likewise, good to have you and this iskenra'z outawin from
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: Mark on your Friday. When we come back, we'll take
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: more of your calls. One eight hundred three two one
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: zero seven ten for wor.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: This is the Mark Simone Show on seven ten WR
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: from Mark today.
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: Here's Ken Rosato.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: Very good to be here on your Friday. Heppy Halloween.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: I hope you have a good one. Just remember it's
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: going to be very windy.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Even though it's not gonna be too too cold, it'll
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: be very very windy and so it'll feel colder than
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: it is so if you're going out with the little ones,
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: make sure they have that extra coat, the windbreaker, not
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: to cover the costume.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: I hate that.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: I know you want to show off the costume, but
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: you also don't want them to feeze on the route. Hey,
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: just talking about Councilwoman Ariola that we had on just
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: a few minutes ago. One of the things we talked
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: about was that statistic, that poll, actually the survey that
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: showed sixty nine percent of all New York City residents
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: age fifty under we're supporting mom, Donnie. One thing you
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: have to think about too, is you could put this
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: right at the blame of former President Biden. By allowing
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: millions upon millions of illegal migrants into this city or
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: into this country and ultimately settling into the city. You
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: had a lot of people who are here. We don't
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: know how many people you guys.
