- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:29Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, so it's pretty clear that after years and years of
- 0:33coaching people, you know, 45 thousand hours of coaching
- 0:36really does teach you a lot about things and you get a huge
- 0:39amount of experience under your belt.
- 0:41But one of the things that I have taken away from this,
- 0:45people will always ask me. Well, what do you think is the
- 0:48biggest cause for people to be stuck?
- 0:50Or, you know, not realize their dreams or to, you know, make
- 0:54something happen in their lives and when we boil it all down,
- 0:59there are a couple things but Of the largest contributors is
- 1:03confusion, and I genuinely mean that, you know, there's a saying
- 1:07in marketing that confused people, don't buy well, there's
- 1:11nothing that's more accurate than that.
- 1:14Nothing more accurate than that. Yesterday, I was at Costco.
- 1:17With my husband, we were walking through looking for Camp Chef
- 1:20stove, and he happened to spy. This little tiny pizza oven, and
- 1:27it was packaged nicely, and although it looked so awful,
- 1:30Awesome. And it was stainless steel and
- 1:32it said it was dual-fuel. So I knew he was going to like,
- 1:36like something like that, and I run and get him.
- 1:38And, like, Marc Marc, Marc. Come, look, them, come look.
- 1:40And he looks at it and he says to me as a man, would he looks
- 1:45at it? And he goes, well, this is, this
- 1:47is ridiculous. Look at the size of this thing.
- 1:49They say that you can make a wood fire in it.
- 1:52But I mean, how there's room for wood back there.
- 1:56There's room for Twigs. They're they're selling you
- 1:58something and I start looking at it.
- 2:00I'm like in the picture, it shows Flames, but it doesn't
- 2:04show like that. There's actually would back
- 2:07there and he's saying, yeah, they're telling you, it's dual
- 2:09fuel. But this and this and this and
- 2:10then it's also it doesn't come with the, the gas portion of it.
- 2:14And the box, says one thing. But the display says another and
- 2:18so instantaneously, I find myself backing away from this
- 2:22purchase that I was so excited about three minutes before that
- 2:27because I felt this level of confusion I was like Wait, what?
- 2:32Are you sure. And start looking looking
- 2:35looking. And then I was like, oh well
- 2:36forget it. And I walked away.
- 2:38So they ended up losing a sale because I couldn't be clearer
- 2:44about it. I couldn't see the pictures.
- 2:47Now, maybe they did that deception wise because if he
- 2:49hadn't been there, let me be very clear about this.
- 2:52If he hadn't been there, I probably would have brought it
- 2:55home. I probably would have brought it
- 2:57home. I would have said, okay, yep,
- 2:59let's give it a try. And that he would have Let's
- 3:01return it because that happens. And it happens often because I
- 3:05get excited and I see something, or I get an idea.
- 3:09And then before, you know it, here we go.
- 3:11And I have to have more clarity on things.
- 3:15Once I have that, boom, it's going back.
- 3:18So the point is this, this idea of confusion stops you from
- 3:24buying things it stops you from doing things it stops you from
- 3:28moving forward. It'll, that's when You feel
- 3:31like, you know, you have to pull back.
- 3:32Now, I will say this, when one is confused, is it good to stop
- 3:38often? Yes, it's very good to stop
- 3:40because once you stop you can gain Clarity, you can get some
- 3:42vision for it. So, you know, you can, you give
- 3:46yourself the grace, you know, we have this whole bunch of old
- 3:50metal fencing. That my neighbor gave us and I
- 3:53said, oh, we can turn that into a jungle gym for the chickens.
- 3:58And they'll be so excited about it because they'll be able to
- 4:00Climb up on it and they'll be able to do everything and it
- 4:03will be so much fun and for, I don't know, a good two weeks,
- 4:07three weeks. I sat there thought about it,
- 4:10sketched out the pieces thought about how I could put them
- 4:12together because I was still confused about how I would do
- 4:16it. How would I hold these things
- 4:17together that were random and didn't come with any
- 4:20attachments? And then, of course, boom.
- 4:23After the contemplating, the confusion and what I wanted zip
- 4:28ties came into my head and I was like, oh, I could you zip ties.
- 4:30Eyes. And yep, I did it.
- 4:33I zip tie the whole thing together and now I just have to
- 4:37paint it, but I'm testing it to see who's using it and what
- 4:40else? I need to add because there's
- 4:41some thinner posts. Maybe I'll add someone to it
- 4:44still playing with a little bit. So but the point is confusion
- 4:49isn't always a bad thing confusion.
- 4:52Just like anything else. The Duality of it is.
- 4:55Yes, confusion. Is there to help us and then
- 4:58we're confused. We can stop Pause and collect
- 5:02our thoughts. Collect our Direction in the
- 5:04move into it. So, when you think of confusion,
- 5:07most people think, oh well being confused is terrible.
- 5:11No being confused as part of the process and it's important to
- 5:14always remember that. But it's a tool you're not meant
- 5:17to stay there. You're meant to Traverse through
- 5:20confusion. So think about where you are
- 5:25feeling that you're confused in your life, I can tell you right
- 5:28now, it is a regular process for me.
- 5:30I've been confused about what to do with a new website that we're
- 5:33getting ready to launch. I've been confused about
- 5:36messaging that I want to add. I've been working on all of it.
- 5:40I have been deep in the weeds and instead of just sitting
- 5:43there and saying I'm confused about what I want to say, or I'm
- 5:46confused about what direction I want to take.
- 5:48I stopped and I pause and I say, let me write down all of the
- 5:51possibilities, and then compare them all and see which ones I
- 5:55like and that helps. Because remember I confused
- 6:00Buyer does not buy and that rule applies to us as humans.
- 6:06A confused person does not take action.
- 6:09A confused person does not move forward.
- 6:11A confused person does not whether you when you stay in
- 6:15confusion. Now, in those, even in those
- 6:17moments, you're not going to make a choice in those moments.
- 6:19You're going to feel the pain of being confused and you're going
- 6:21to pause. So remember confusion is a tool
- 6:25to be used, not to torture. You if you're staying in
- 6:28confusion too long then that's where you need.
- 6:31So work on that piece, figure out where your points of
- 6:34confusion are right now and ask yourself.
- 6:37Okay? What is confusing me?
- 6:39What's the part of it? And really sit down and
- 6:41contemplate at what and ask yourself the very important
- 6:44question. What's another way to think of
- 6:47this? Because when you ask that you
- 6:49trigger your brain to actually do that command, all right, my
- 6:53friends, I will see you tomorrow and I hope you have a blessed
- 6:55day. Bye.
